- 0:02Speaker 1: I know that this is not real torture. Okay, anybody
- 0:06Speaker 1: who's really been tortured would scoff at the thought of this.
- 0:10Speaker 1: But what is something that you know isn't actually torture?
- 0:13Speaker 1: But for you, it is torturous? Seven oh one two
- 0:17Speaker 1: eight zero one eight seven, Angie, When I sadly leave
- 0:22Speaker 1: this earth and make my trip down to purgatory, do
- 0:24Speaker 1: you know what? Do you know what day I will
- 0:27Speaker 1: repeat for all of time? What when I have to
- 0:32Speaker 1: go grocery shopping?
- 0:34Speaker 2: That's your torture, that's your circle of hell.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I I mean, I'm I think, I think I'd rather
- 0:42Speaker 1: run like a half marathon than go grocery shopping on
- 0:46Speaker 1: some days. I mean I always do, and I always
- 0:49Speaker 1: you know, especially my wife nine months pregnant. She's not
- 0:52Speaker 1: gonna go grocery shopping by herself. But the culmination of
- 0:56Speaker 1: these past nine months, well honestly past like little over
- 1:00Speaker 1: a year, where I have just became the grocery house
- 1:06Speaker 1: you know what? Okay, maybe rhymes with which I every
- 1:10Speaker 1: you know, once a week or every other week, I
- 1:12Speaker 1: have to go grab these groceries or do the grocery
- 1:15Speaker 1: shopping part. Because in Corey's defense, it is just not
- 1:20Speaker 1: busy in the you know, one two o'clock.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Yeah, when you get out of work, it makes more
- 1:24Speaker 3: sense for you to pay.
- 1:25Speaker 1: One thousand because A there's no line and then B,
- 1:31Speaker 1: you know, we have the stuff by the time Corey
- 1:33Speaker 1: would get home, so we can make it.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:35Speaker 1: But the culmination of the past year of always having
- 1:39Speaker 1: to get these things by myself, and then having to
- 1:42Speaker 1: bring them all in by myself, and then putting them
- 1:44Speaker 1: all away by myself, and inevitably they're not in the
- 1:47Speaker 1: right spot. I try. I try my best, but I
- 1:51Speaker 1: there are a lot of worst things I would rather
- 1:54Speaker 1: do on a daily basis than go grocery shopping once
- 1:57Speaker 1: a week.
- 1:58Speaker 3: As a human, you are definitely not someone who I
- 2:00Speaker 3: would consider like a complainer. I'm a complainer, You're not
- 2:04Speaker 3: a complainer, and so quite literally, the only thing I
- 2:08Speaker 3: ever hear you gripe about in like a real way
- 2:12Speaker 3: is the grocery shopping. You set the alarm on your
- 2:15Speaker 3: phone sometimes I gotta do a grocery pick up. You
- 2:18Speaker 3: get so upset that I do understand. While it is
- 2:24Speaker 3: a first world problem, it absolutely is torture for you.
- 2:27Speaker 2: And I feel for you because you're so happy, go lucky.
- 2:30Speaker 3: But the second is I gonna hang up the grocery.
- 2:34Speaker 2: You are miserable.
- 2:36Speaker 1: You have heard me complain about this in the studio,
- 2:38Speaker 1: and you know the worst part is it, I will
- 2:41Speaker 1: never not do it because I have gone with Corey
- 2:43Speaker 1: a five point thirty for whatever reason, I couldn't make
- 2:45Speaker 1: the one o'clock or two o'clock. I've gone with her
- 2:47Speaker 1: a five thirty. It right, And you sit there for
- 2:50Speaker 1: forty minutes or before they can bring them out, or
- 2:53Speaker 1: you walk in and you walk around for an hour.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And I definitely don't want to do that. So it's
- 2:58Speaker 1: really kind of a lose lose lose situation.
- 3:01Speaker 4: You know.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I think I'd rather take dead last in a marathon
- 3:07Speaker 1: grocery shop the next time.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Oh I hate.
- 3:10Speaker 1: It, So anyway, I'll be reliving that for the foreseeable
- 3:13Speaker 1: future when my life ends. So what about you? Do
- 3:15Speaker 1: you have a something that's not really torture, but it
- 3:20Speaker 1: might as well be.
- 3:20Speaker 3: I feel bad because I've passed the torture onto my children.
- 3:25Speaker 2: So okay, I got it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I like that.
- 3:28Speaker 2: I loathe loathe filling up my water bottle.
- 3:33Speaker 3: I hate it on a level that I can't even describe.
- 3:37Speaker 3: And at work, I have to fill my own honor
- 3:40Speaker 3: bottle because God forbid I ask you to do it. No,
- 3:43Speaker 3: I have to fill my own water bottle. And fine,
- 3:45Speaker 3: but at the house, I would rather do dishes for
- 3:49Speaker 3: three hours than fill my water bottle, and so I don't.
- 3:54Speaker 3: That is Aiden's chore is to fill my water bottle.
- 3:58Speaker 3: And when I tell you, he also thinks it's torture.
- 4:01Speaker 1: He hates it.
- 4:02Speaker 2: But I give him. We've figured out a system.
- 4:05Speaker 3: He earns a dollar a day for refilling my water bottle.
- 4:10Speaker 3: At the end of the month, he gets thirty dollars.
- 4:13Speaker 3: At thirty one dollars for filling my water bottle.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Well, that's just a job, so at least that, But
- 4:19Speaker 2: it's you couldn't pay me to do it.
- 4:22Speaker 1: What about this water bottle thing and and the ladies.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I don't get it because I feel I'm the water
- 4:28Speaker 1: bottle guy at our house.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Really, yeah, I don't know what it is, but I
- 4:32Speaker 2: hate it. I hate it. Feels like torture.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Yeah, my mother, same thing. We're always running to help
- 4:37Speaker 1: ma with the water grab whatever. I don't get it.
- 4:41Speaker 2: I'm torture. I don't know you know what.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Shout out to Aidan though, because Aiden is learning the
- 4:46Speaker 1: value of hard work and waking up every day and
- 4:49Speaker 1: having to go do a job.
- 4:50Speaker 2: You don't like it.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Celebrating life's little victories victory every morning.
- 4:59Speaker 2: We practice creditude on Big ninety eight point seven. If
- 5:02Speaker 2: I could, I would keep this feeling in a basket
- 5:04Speaker 2: joke busted out when it was someone's acting hard. I
- 5:07Speaker 2: just really needed to win, you know, sure your little
- 5:09Speaker 2: victories with us at seven oh one two eight one
- 5:13Speaker 2: eight seven.
- 5:14Speaker 1: All right, Angie, do you have a little victory for
- 5:16Speaker 1: us on this Friday.
- 5:17Speaker 3: I made incredible chorizo burritos for my kiddos yesterday and
- 5:24Speaker 3: they said that I was the goat.
- 5:27Speaker 2: They were great.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Wow, you had a great You had two children call
- 5:30Speaker 1: you the goat.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Yeah, that was something I cooked, Like that's magical. So
- 5:35Speaker 3: I was feeling a real proud of myself. They still
- 5:38Speaker 3: did house an entire pizza from on his sure last night,
- 5:45Speaker 3: because they're not going to turn down pizza. But they
- 5:47Speaker 3: were very satisfied with the burritos, and so for that,
- 5:50Speaker 3: I give myself a pat on the back.
- 5:51Speaker 2: What about you, Gabe, I like that?
- 5:53Speaker 1: Good for you. That's all. You know, you did something right.
- 5:55Speaker 1: My little victory I think just has to be this
- 5:58Speaker 1: upcoming weekend. I got a big family union. Corey side
- 6:01Speaker 1: of the family does kind of this camping trip reunion
- 6:03Speaker 1: thing every single year, and we went last year, the
- 6:07Speaker 1: year before. We've been going for years, and this is
- 6:09Speaker 1: literally kind of our one thing, our one little hurrah
- 6:14Speaker 1: this summer because after this we're kind of just on
- 6:18Speaker 1: baby waiting.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Dude.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Yeah, so we you know, don't really have any we know,
- 6:24Speaker 1: if we don't have any plans this summer, I guess
- 6:26Speaker 1: is what I'm saying, other than to take care of
- 6:28Speaker 1: baby ge. So we have kind of our one trip
- 6:32Speaker 1: this weekend, and we're really looking forward to it.
- 6:34Speaker 2: We rented a pop up camper.
- 6:36Speaker 1: My wife nine months pregnant, officially not sleeping in a
- 6:40Speaker 1: ten okay, So we got ourselves a camper to bring
- 6:44Speaker 1: and you know, I picked it up yesterday, brought it
- 6:47Speaker 1: back to the house. All went well, and I'm just
- 6:49Speaker 1: looking forward to it. It should be a lot of fun.
- 6:51Speaker 2: You better post pictures.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Today's Variety Big ninety eight point seven. It's Gabe, it's Angie,
- 6:58Speaker 1: and today looks to be pretty nice. We've got sunshine.
- 7:02Speaker 1: We've got a high of seventy four. I don't really
- 7:04Speaker 1: know if it gets much better than that to end
- 7:07Speaker 1: a work week. And I don't know if you saw
- 7:13Speaker 1: this story or came across this story, but it was
- 7:16Speaker 1: just one of those situations where it kind of proves
- 7:20Speaker 1: that that one law where what can go wrong will
- 7:23Speaker 1: go wrong. Murph, Yeah, that one.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:27Speaker 1: This this is something that could only happen, honestly, in
- 7:30Speaker 1: like Florida or Louisiana. It is so funny, and I
- 7:34Speaker 1: want you to start thinking right now. Have you ever
- 7:36Speaker 1: been in a situation that was pretty bad and then
- 7:39Speaker 1: you made it worse somehow? Seven oh one two eight
- 7:43Speaker 1: zero one nine eight seven. Now listen to this.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Here.
- 7:47Speaker 1: There was this man in Louisiana who was suspected of
- 7:50Speaker 1: impair driving right off the bat, not great, not very smart.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Step number two, he tried driving to outrun the police,
- 8:00Speaker 1: also not great. Well, then he drove into a swamp. Unfortunately,
- 8:08Speaker 1: the story is crazy. Unfortunately for him, an alligator joined
- 8:12Speaker 1: the pursuit. This man was attacked by an alligator while
- 8:16Speaker 1: running from the police for impaired you know, drunk driving.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Yeah, this seems like a cartoon. That's horrible.
- 8:24Speaker 1: It sounds like something straight out of the Looney Tunes.
- 8:26Speaker 2: For sure.
- 8:27Speaker 1: The police did end up catching this guy. They actually
- 8:30Speaker 1: used a drone because he was just kind of stuck
- 8:33Speaker 1: in this swamp and they weren't gonna go in there
- 8:34Speaker 1: with alligators or whatever, so they caught him with the
- 8:37Speaker 1: help of a drone. So have you or you know
- 8:40Speaker 1: someone you know ever made a situation that was pretty
- 8:42Speaker 1: bad and you know what, just doubled down and made
- 8:45Speaker 1: it three times worse seven oh one two eight zero
- 8:48Speaker 1: one nine eight seven. A couple of.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Weeks ago, when Mikey and I were in Vegas for
- 8:54Speaker 3: my niece's graduation.
- 8:56Speaker 2: We were running late and this man was.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Speedy and he was going fifty two in a thirty five.
- 9:03Speaker 3: And I do know because I grew up in Vegas.
- 9:05Speaker 3: I know that area of town and it definitely is
- 9:07Speaker 3: a speed trap. But I just wasn't like paying attention.
- 9:09Speaker 3: So we get pulled over and the cop goes, you know,
- 9:12Speaker 3: to the window, and Mikey is thinking, oh, I will
- 9:16Speaker 3: try to get us out of this, and he said, oh, sorry,
- 9:19Speaker 3: we're running late.
- 9:20Speaker 2: We're from out of town, and.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Which is partially true, which is partially true, except for
- 9:26Speaker 3: he said he gives the cop his ID.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Mikey has not changed over his.
- 9:31Speaker 3: ID yet, so he said we're from out of town
- 9:34Speaker 3: in Vegas and gave him a NEV adult license like bro.
- 9:39Speaker 3: That cop just right thought, okay, liar right, And so
- 9:43Speaker 3: sure enough.
- 9:43Speaker 2: We did get a ticket. We didn't get off the hook.
- 9:46Speaker 2: That cop right.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Thought that was a lie, right cause the whole idea
- 9:50Speaker 1: of hey I moved, I just haven't changed my ID. Well,
- 9:54Speaker 1: but you still lived here at one point, Rush, Well,
- 9:57Speaker 1: it just wasn't gonna.
- 9:58Speaker 3: He just accepted the ticket, So we got to figure
- 10:00Speaker 3: that out by August.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Yeah, he made that.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Worse, Angela, What situation did you make from bad to
- 10:08Speaker 1: just straight up worse?
- 10:09Speaker 3: My car started making a weird noise, so I turned
- 10:12Speaker 3: the radio up to ignore it, and two weeks later
- 10:15Speaker 3: the mechanic.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Asked, how long has it been making that noise?
- 10:18Speaker 4: Oh?
- 10:18Speaker 1: No, you had a horrible car noise. You were jamming
- 10:22Speaker 1: the big ninety eight point seven. You thought, oh, it'll
- 10:24Speaker 1: fix itself, and it ended up not being great. What
- 10:28Speaker 1: about you, Tim What a situation did you make bad
- 10:31Speaker 1: to worse?
- 10:32Speaker 2: I was cooking dinner and my dishtile, common fire.
- 10:34Speaker 3: It took me out my pride, so I threw it
- 10:36Speaker 3: and it went in on the stack of newspapers in
- 10:38Speaker 3: my dining room.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Oh no, he was to say, the.
- 10:41Speaker 4: Fire got bigger. Luckily I had a fire extinguisher nearby.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Okay, thankfully everything turned out okay for you. Could you
- 10:47Speaker 1: imagine that though, you're, like, you know, doing the dishes,
- 10:50Speaker 1: and all of a sudden, just a fire starts and
- 10:53Speaker 1: you make it worse. I think that might be one
- 10:55Speaker 1: of the scariest things that could ever happen to me.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Seven oh one two, eight zero one seven. Now, Toy
- 11:08Speaker 1: Story five is coming out next, I believe, next Friday, right, yeah,
- 11:11Speaker 1: the n nineteenth is the day.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Yeah. Come, we're counting down in my house, that's right. Yeah.
- 11:16Speaker 1: You know what's kind of funny. I always laugh whenever
- 11:18Speaker 1: they have a new Toy Story movie out and you
- 11:20Speaker 1: have you know, seven, eight six year olds who are
- 11:24Speaker 1: all excited to see it, and they don't understand that
- 11:26Speaker 1: millennials have been waiting, been watching and following these stories
- 11:31Speaker 1: for quite literally decades, almost half a century.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Since we were children.
- 11:36Speaker 3: And with Toy Story I always feel like it's every
- 11:38Speaker 3: other one is good, the first one excellent, the second
- 11:41Speaker 3: one trash, third one excellent, fourth one trash, and now
- 11:44Speaker 3: the fifth one already looks.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Like it's going to be excellent. So I'm very exciting.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Yeah, fifth one will be an absolute banger if the
- 11:49Speaker 1: math maths that's correct. So, in the love of toy
- 11:54Speaker 1: story and just the love of toys, we wanted to
- 11:57Speaker 1: know what is the first toy you were having, whether
- 12:02Speaker 1: maybe you got it for Christmas or you know, any
- 12:05Speaker 1: other holiday, your birthday, something like that, the first toy
- 12:08Speaker 1: you ever remember? Seven oh one two, eight zero one
- 12:12Speaker 1: nine eight seven, Angie, what was your first toy?
- 12:16Speaker 4: Uh?
- 12:16Speaker 3: The one the first one that I remember is from
- 12:20Speaker 3: Christmas when I was three years old and I got
- 12:25Speaker 3: this little, I mean teeny tiny baby doll. And it
- 12:29Speaker 3: was a little bald baby with eyes closed, very much
- 12:34Speaker 3: looked like a new born.
- 12:36Speaker 2: And because my little brother had just.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Been born in July, three days after my birthday, which
- 12:43Speaker 3: I was very mad about at the time. But by
- 12:46Speaker 3: the time Christmas hit and I got this little baby doll,
- 12:49Speaker 3: he reminded me so much of my little brother that
- 12:52Speaker 3: I named him Robert after my brother.
- 12:56Speaker 2: So my very first toy.
- 12:57Speaker 3: That I remember is a little baby well named Robert,
- 13:01Speaker 3: and I.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Still have that thing. I've kept it as an adult, Yes.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Sleep with it or anything, but I've had that baby
- 13:09Speaker 3: doll forever and anytime it was like, oh, we're cleaning
- 13:13Speaker 3: out the shed, we're cleaning out the whatever. Do you
- 13:15Speaker 3: want to get rid of it? Absolutely not. I'm not
- 13:17Speaker 3: getting rid of little baby Robert.
- 13:19Speaker 1: You're just held onto it all these years ago. What
- 13:22Speaker 1: about you? Do you remember the first There are two.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I just can't remember which one I had first. Okay,
- 13:28Speaker 1: but I had this little red plastic like power ranger.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Oh where Yeah, the head would.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Go from where they have the helmet and then you
- 13:39Speaker 1: could like push this button and it would switch to
- 13:41Speaker 1: where it was just the person's regular face.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Right, it was just Jason, yeah, exactly.
- 13:45Speaker 1: So it was either that or when I was like
- 13:49Speaker 1: three or four, we woke up on Christmas, I went
- 13:53Speaker 1: downstairs and there was this black and orange bike, this
- 13:56Speaker 1: tiny little bike with training wheels the whole nine yards.
- 14:00Speaker 1: But of course it's December, so I'm like practicing riding
- 14:04Speaker 1: this thing in our basement. We lived in this a
- 14:06Speaker 1: different house at the time, and we had this just big,
- 14:09Speaker 1: like concrete basement.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Basically, oh, okay, so that's not bad.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it wasn't bad, not enough to really like gig going, Yeah,
- 14:15Speaker 1: but enough to you know, at least kind of go
- 14:17Speaker 1: around in a circle a little bit. So the first
- 14:20Speaker 1: it was either one of those two things. I still
- 14:22Speaker 1: to this day, remember that bike.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Isn't that crazy?
- 14:24Speaker 4: That?
- 14:24Speaker 3: Then you're going to have a baby really soon here,
- 14:27Speaker 3: and then eventually you'll be able to like ask her.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Yeah, what's the first toy?
- 14:32Speaker 3: Remember?
- 14:32Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, yeah, lower the Lord.
- 14:34Speaker 1: We did have this up on fur We do, excuse me,
- 14:36Speaker 1: have this up on Facebook as well. Sarah said, an
- 14:39Speaker 1: ambulance that had buttons and made sounds and the lights
- 14:43Speaker 1: went on.
- 14:43Speaker 2: We shit.
- 14:45Speaker 1: She also added my parents would take out the batteries
- 14:48Speaker 1: and say it was broken because they were tired of
- 14:50Speaker 1: listening to it. Jane said either remote control bull He
- 14:56Speaker 1: would walk and then stomp and lower his head and smoke.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Came out, what I.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Want this toy? Can I find this on eBay? That
- 15:04Speaker 2: sounds amazing?
- 15:05Speaker 1: Yeah, how do I get that? As a thirty five
- 15:06Speaker 1: year old adult, anything with the remote control is cool?
- 15:09Speaker 3: Cool?
- 15:10Speaker 1: And then Brian, he said, hot wheels. I'm fifty eight
- 15:13Speaker 1: years old, and I still collect I don't have my
- 15:16Speaker 1: original collection, but most people, but most people, Like most people,
- 15:21Speaker 1: I still enjoy collecting these things. Hot wheels. I remember
- 15:25Speaker 1: we would make the you know, like every other kid,
- 15:27Speaker 1: the craziest tracks. We'd have them going through like paper
- 15:32Speaker 1: towel rolls and things like that, as like a tunnel man,
- 15:35Speaker 1: what a nice trip down memory lane.
- 15:37Speaker 3: When we were little, we would have hot wheels and
- 15:39Speaker 3: make them be Mario Kart exactly.
- 15:43Speaker 1: And then last, but not least, you gotta have a
- 15:46Speaker 1: stuffed animal in here. We had Page who said a
- 15:49Speaker 1: stuffed puppy I named after Barkley, which I mean is
- 15:54Speaker 1: just a horrible.
- 15:58Speaker 2: This is am I the problem?
- 16:00Speaker 4: It's me?
- 16:02Speaker 1: Hi the problem? It's me.
- 16:05Speaker 2: We'll hear one side of the story, and with your
- 16:07Speaker 2: help we decide if it's right or if maybe you're
- 16:13Speaker 2: the problem. That's right, I am the problem on Big
- 16:16Speaker 2: ninety eight point seven.
- 16:19Speaker 1: So I've been reading and following your am I the
- 16:21Speaker 1: problem every day for months now. Well I'm reaching out
- 16:25Speaker 1: to see if you can ask the Big ninety eight
- 16:27Speaker 1: point seven audience if I'm the issue or am I
- 16:30Speaker 1: the problem? Today? Comes from Ryan and we switched it up.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna go ahead and read this one here today. Angie.
- 16:36Speaker 2: You know why because you saw the DM first.
- 16:39Speaker 1: That's exactly right, Ryan said, I've had friends that we
- 16:44Speaker 1: have done so much stuff together. We go golf, fishing, drinking,
- 16:47Speaker 1: just hanging out. Sounds very due, very bro Yeah, all right,
- 16:51Speaker 1: but for well over a month, I feel like I'm
- 16:55Speaker 1: the one being left out, not even so much as
- 16:57Speaker 1: a text to ask if I to ask if I
- 16:59Speaker 1: want to. I'm at the point where I'm just about
- 17:02Speaker 1: ready to cut ties all together. They'll send texts and
- 17:05Speaker 1: picks in a group chat that's between all of us.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I'll ask where my invite was, and I get absolutely
- 17:11Speaker 1: nothing back. Am I the problem? If I just say
- 17:15Speaker 1: I'm kind of done and cut ties with all of them?
- 17:18Speaker 3: It is crazy work to me for these people to
- 17:23Speaker 3: send pictures in the group chat of things he wasn't
- 17:28Speaker 3: invited to, and then when he flat out asks where
- 17:31Speaker 3: was my invite, they don't answer.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Those are bad friends. You should cut them off?
- 17:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean should cut them off. It definitely sounds
- 17:40Speaker 1: like you, Ryan would potentially be better off without them.
- 17:43Speaker 4: Now.
- 17:44Speaker 1: One of the caveats of am I the problem? And
- 17:47Speaker 1: we actually have it in the intro is where you
- 17:50Speaker 1: tell us your side of the story. Yeah, in classic
- 17:55Speaker 1: Gabe glitten fashion, who will not try to make anyone
- 17:58Speaker 1: that upset with him, I will say I would like
- 18:01Speaker 1: to hear a follow up from the friends. What happened?
- 18:04Speaker 1: Were you invited to something Ryan that you said you'd
- 18:07Speaker 1: go to and you just know showed? Did someone try it?
- 18:10Speaker 3: I shouldn't stop them from ever inviting him if he'd
- 18:13Speaker 3: no showed one time.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Well, I'm just saying, is there, like, uh, what's the
- 18:19Speaker 1: deal here? Is there something of repetition? What am I saying?
- 18:22Speaker 1: Either way, it doesn't matter. Is it a habit of
- 18:24Speaker 1: maybe you don't text back either? Is this super one way?
- 18:29Speaker 1: Is it more? You know, if they sent us an email,
- 18:31Speaker 1: would there be something you did the last time you
- 18:34Speaker 1: hung out? Because I have hung out with buddies before.
- 18:36Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, I'm gonna take a break from
- 18:38Speaker 1: you for like a month. I love you and I
- 18:40Speaker 1: will respond to you, but like, we don't.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Know, but they're not even responding to him.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Okay, So if you're in a friend group with a
- 18:46Speaker 3: guy named Ryan and you know that you are not
- 18:50Speaker 3: texting back and you're not inviting him.
- 18:52Speaker 2: We invite you to write to us.
- 18:55Speaker 3: If you go on the Big ninety eight point seven
- 18:57Speaker 3: website Big nine eight seven dot com on airtab, there's
- 19:01Speaker 3: a submission page for am I the problem which is
- 19:03Speaker 3: where we get these from? But sometimes we get them
- 19:05Speaker 3: in dms, on Facebook, wherever you want to send it. Now,
- 19:08Speaker 3: if you are part of that group and you want
- 19:10Speaker 3: us to hear your side of the story, please let
- 19:13Speaker 3: us know. But from where I'm standing, Ryan, they're just
- 19:17Speaker 3: not good friends to you, So cut them off and
- 19:19Speaker 3: make new ones.
- 19:20Speaker 2: I know it's hard to make friends as an adult,
- 19:21Speaker 2: but like.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Here would be a prime example. Okay, I have a
- 19:25Speaker 1: friend who once upon a time, he was kind of
- 19:29Speaker 1: a newish friend. I would say, but we've been hanging
- 19:31Speaker 1: out for a chunk of time, a couple months or so,
- 19:33Speaker 1: and you know, he liked to golf, and there was
- 19:35Speaker 1: a time where I was like, oh, do you want
- 19:36Speaker 1: to go golfing on Saturday? And he said, yeah, sure,
- 19:38Speaker 1: let's go. And so I get to the golf course
- 19:41Speaker 1: and the old tea time is ticking away here and
- 19:44Speaker 1: I finally called him. I was like, hey, are you coming?
- 19:46Speaker 1: And this guy said, I'm sorry, I'm just really like
- 19:50Speaker 1: too hungover. I'm not I can't play today.
- 19:52Speaker 2: And he didn't contact you before.
- 19:54Speaker 1: He did not, so not only A did I have
- 19:56Speaker 1: to make the phone call, but B to not come out.
- 20:01Speaker 1: At that point, I was like, oh, well that's cool,
- 20:03Speaker 1: Like I'll I quite literally have never asked him to
- 20:05Speaker 1: golf again, not once. Maybe that's I hold a grudge.
- 20:08Speaker 1: I don't know, but I'm just saying things like that
- 20:11Speaker 1: do happen.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Okay, Well, Ryan, if you want to follow up with us,
- 20:15Speaker 3: can you think of this is a.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Thing of self accountability, right?
- 20:19Speaker 3: Is there anything that you can think of that may
- 20:21Speaker 3: have spurred this in your group chat? I just still
- 20:25Speaker 3: think it's crazy to send pictures in the group chat
- 20:27Speaker 3: of you guys doing stuff having not invited, like when
- 20:31Speaker 3: I'm excluding people, which doesn't happen all the time, but
- 20:35Speaker 3: when I'm excluding people, I feel like we're very careful about, like, well,
- 20:39Speaker 3: don't post yet, or don't send it in this group chat.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Because you make it a chat.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Yes, right, these.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Are bold I think ex friends that Ryan has what
- 20:51Speaker 3: do you think? Seven oh one two eight zero one
- 20:54Speaker 3: nine eight seven. We also have this up on the
- 20:56Speaker 3: Big ninety eight point seven Facebook page what should Ryan
- 20:59Speaker 3: do in this situation?
- 21:00Speaker 2: Situation the problem?
- 21:08Speaker 1: And Melita said, I've left a friend of eleven years
- 21:13Speaker 1: because she would not reach out. I was the only
- 21:15Speaker 1: person who ever reached out. I would say something. Sometimes
- 21:18Speaker 1: people just don't know how to cut off old friends
- 21:20Speaker 1: and keep dragging them on. Ryan, save yourself the stress
- 21:24Speaker 1: and find people that want to be direct. Am I?
- 21:27Speaker 1: The problem today is about Ryan. He has a group
- 21:30Speaker 1: of buddies, a group of friends, and they appear to
- 21:33Speaker 1: be kind of phasing him out of the friend group.
- 21:35Speaker 1: At the very least, they're ghost in him.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and he will last month.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and he wants to know if, like he said,
- 21:41Speaker 1: he just cut all ties or is he the problem? Now?
- 21:44Speaker 1: I will say that in and of itself is not
- 21:47Speaker 1: a ton of information to go off, but part of
- 21:51Speaker 1: am I the problem? We say, you tell us your
- 21:53Speaker 1: side of the story. Yeah, that's half the half the
- 21:55Speaker 1: battle here this morning. So when we go off of
- 21:58Speaker 1: what Ryan has told us, it doeser that these buddies
- 22:01Speaker 1: aren't really great buddies.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Yolanda said he could put on his big boy pants
- 22:05Speaker 3: and have an actual conversation with the guys that's just
- 22:09Speaker 3: not enough info here to tell who the problem is. Okay,
- 22:12Speaker 3: but like they're not answering him because he's literally flat
- 22:15Speaker 3: out asked, where is my invite?
- 22:17Speaker 2: In the group chat?
- 22:19Speaker 3: I'm if I had to guess if they're not answering
- 22:22Speaker 3: in the group chat via text, I don't know that
- 22:24Speaker 3: they're going to answer his phone call, So then, yeah,
- 22:27Speaker 3: where does he go from there?
- 22:28Speaker 2: I think you just cut him all off.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Well, something we suffer from here in the Midwest, Angie
- 22:34Speaker 1: is confrontation, especially with people we like, people we don't
- 22:38Speaker 1: like a little bit easier to be a little confrontational
- 22:41Speaker 1: with people we supposedly are friends with. It's tough. I mean,
- 22:45Speaker 1: in the group chat, Ryan, you could just, I don't know,
- 22:48Speaker 1: take a big, giant, deep breath, get some gumption is
- 22:54Speaker 1: the word I'll use. Okay, hey, do you guys not
- 22:56Speaker 1: like me? But we're not really direct here in the Midwest.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Okay, I feel like him saying like where was my invite?
- 23:04Speaker 2: Is pretty direct?
- 23:04Speaker 3: But maybe that's the cake maybe you need. I'm not
- 23:07Speaker 3: from the Midwest. Now I'm learning maybe he's gonna be
- 23:10Speaker 3: even more direct than say.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Hey, do you not like me?
- 23:13Speaker 1: Where was my invite is like the tiptoe around like, yeah,
- 23:17Speaker 1: I'm upset what happened? Instead of just saying you know what,
- 23:20Speaker 1: that kind of I feel bad. You guys did invite me.
- 23:22Speaker 1: What the heck happened?
- 23:23Speaker 4: You know?
- 23:23Speaker 1: Where's my invite? Is like the quick one sentence. All right,
- 23:27Speaker 1: let me dip my toe into the water of I'm annoyed,
- 23:31Speaker 1: but I don't want to make anyone.
- 23:33Speaker 3: Mad, you know what, because that could be taken You're
- 23:35Speaker 3: right kind of like not seriously or like joky, like
- 23:38Speaker 3: where was my invite?
- 23:39Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, deal. I have a buddy named Saysar, right,
- 23:42Speaker 1: and I've talked about His name is Ian, but we
- 23:45Speaker 1: call him Saysar.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:46Speaker 1: I've talked about Saysar a lot. I was in his wedding.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I love this man to death. He is the funniest Texter,
- 23:50Speaker 1: but he'll do things like that. If let's say, a
- 23:54Speaker 1: buddy of mine he doesn't know, is getting married, right,
- 23:56Speaker 1: and I'll post a picture, He'll go in the comments
- 23:58Speaker 1: and be like, where was my invite?
- 24:00Speaker 3: Yeah, so it's joking, be considered jokey. Yeah, okay, So
- 24:04Speaker 3: maybe Yolanda is right, like you have to be so
- 24:07Speaker 3: explicit in the text group saying exactly why you're upset,
- 24:12Speaker 3: or maybe they have listened to Big ninety eight point
- 24:15Speaker 3: seven this morning and they're like, is.
- 24:17Speaker 2: This am I the problem about us?
- 24:20Speaker 4: Is this?
- 24:20Speaker 1: Ur Ryan? We did also have Nick. Nick said not
- 24:24Speaker 1: the problem. There's clearly an issue here on their part
- 24:27Speaker 1: and they can't be adults and have the conversation with you.
- 24:30Speaker 1: I need more bros. Hit me up. I'm down to
- 24:33Speaker 1: chill with you. Oh, so there you go. Ryan, We
- 24:35Speaker 1: could I don't know if the word hook you up
- 24:37Speaker 1: is the right word, but we could introduce you to
- 24:39Speaker 1: potentially Nick a new buddy.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:42Speaker 2: That's so fun.
- 24:43Speaker 3: And at the end of the day, I will say this,
- 24:45Speaker 3: you shouldn't have to beg anybody to be your friend.
- 24:47Speaker 1: No, God, No, yeah, absolutely not. Seven oh one two
- 24:50Speaker 1: eight zero one nine eight seven two things here We
- 24:53Speaker 1: have played quite a bit of match making a Big
- 24:56Speaker 1: ninety eight point seven this week, but a you know,
- 24:59Speaker 1: is there any advice you could give to Ryan or
- 25:01Speaker 1: b Hey, are you you know a dude who just
- 25:04Speaker 1: wants a bro? You know, just guys doing dude stuff.
- 25:07Speaker 2: This is so adorable to me.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Angie and I. If we were to get a life
- 25:17Speaker 1: grade we probably would get a big fat f We
- 25:20Speaker 1: are a bunch of failures this morning, because we have
- 25:23Speaker 1: realized there are some very basic human things that we
- 25:26Speaker 1: simply cannot do. No, and what do I always say, Angie,
- 25:31Speaker 1: misery loves misery. I don't like the saying misery loves company.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Have you ever been down in the dumps and you're
- 25:35Speaker 1: hanging out with someone whose life is just going great?
- 25:37Speaker 1: It sucks?
- 25:38Speaker 3: No, but this company is like, you want to be
- 25:42Speaker 3: in company of other misery.
- 25:43Speaker 1: That's right, bulls Misery loves misery.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, well we'll simplify it down to that.
- 25:48Speaker 1: That's fine, Angie. One of us cannot swim, one of
- 25:51Speaker 1: us cannot whistle. I will go ahead and admit right
- 25:55Speaker 1: here on Big ninety eight point seven, if there was
- 25:57Speaker 1: a whistling competition and all you had to do was
- 26:01Speaker 1: produce some kind of noise and you would receive fifty
- 26:05Speaker 1: million dollars, well, I'll just continue living my life because
- 26:08Speaker 1: I cannot do it. I can't whistle at all.
- 26:11Speaker 2: I go that is so fun.
- 26:12Speaker 1: It was like blow air, like hold on, let me
- 26:15Speaker 1: let me what the whistle?
- 26:20Speaker 2: I can't do? That's wow? Yeah, No, that's best making
- 26:25Speaker 2: showing a yeah, no, it's not good.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not good at all, which means that the
- 26:30Speaker 3: one of us who can't swim is me. I cannot swim,
- 26:35Speaker 3: never did like swimming lessons or air No, I didn't.
- 26:38Speaker 2: And the crazy thing is, I'm thirty eight.
- 26:42Speaker 3: How have I gone this long without learning how to swim?
- 26:46Speaker 3: My ex like one of the last things my ex
- 26:48Speaker 3: and I ever did together, even though we had just split,
- 26:51Speaker 3: as we went to Universal with the kids and we
- 26:54Speaker 3: stayed at a hotel that had a pool, and he
- 26:57Speaker 3: was like, let me, as a last parting gift, try
- 27:01Speaker 3: to teach you how to swim, and so on some
- 27:04Speaker 3: level like I know the mechanics, but if I had to,
- 27:07Speaker 3: like swim to save my life, bruh, I'm dead. I
- 27:11Speaker 3: can't tread water and I can't float. I can doggy
- 27:15Speaker 3: paddle if I push myself off of something, and I
- 27:18Speaker 3: can make it a short distance from point A to
- 27:21Speaker 3: point B. But safe to say, if I'm like out
- 27:23Speaker 3: on the lake or something, your girl needs a life
- 27:26Speaker 3: jacket or she did the second she falls in the
- 27:28Speaker 3: water a life jacket or like a dock or I
- 27:31Speaker 3: didn't Yeah, I mean, actually don't even let me get
- 27:34Speaker 3: the water.
- 27:35Speaker 1: You know what. A lot of pools in the FM
- 27:36Speaker 1: area here in West Fargo, of course, have opened up.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Maybe you know you did learn how to do a
- 27:42Speaker 1: roquette dance once upon a time. Maybe someone will reach
- 27:45Speaker 1: out and teach you how to swim.
- 27:46Speaker 2: You know, embarrassing. That would look for me.
- 27:49Speaker 3: As embarrassing as it did when I was trying to
- 27:51Speaker 3: learn how to dance. I stay in the shallow end,
- 27:54Speaker 3: is what I do. Is I stay in the shadower
- 27:56Speaker 3: I can touch. Yeah, where I can touch, which is
- 27:58Speaker 3: like five feet? No, No, that's like over my head,
- 28:02Speaker 3: say on five one, homie, I have to be in
- 28:06Speaker 3: like four feet to feel comfortable.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Wow.
- 28:09Speaker 3: My kids, however, the older one he can swim, and
- 28:12Speaker 3: I think Liam he can swim, not even like on purpose.
- 28:16Speaker 3: He just kind of like figured it out. And I'm
- 28:18Speaker 3: over here like they'd have to save my life. That's
- 28:20Speaker 3: really sad.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Yolanda says, dude, I cannot burp, seriously, it's so annoying
- 28:28Speaker 1: and painful. Sometimes instead my throat just kind of makes
- 28:32Speaker 1: this growling sound. She also added she'll walk around and
- 28:35Speaker 1: maybe be a little gassy in a different parts instead
- 28:38Speaker 1: of burping, but we'll keep it, you know, somewhat classy.
- 28:42Speaker 3: Point also just chimed in, I love when when you
- 28:45Speaker 3: live text it feeds our soul. She also just added
- 28:49Speaker 3: swimming is overrated anyway. Floating is where it's at. But
- 28:52Speaker 3: the blood to us there is I can't flow.
- 28:54Speaker 1: I so like, thank you, Yolanda. Misery loves other misery
- 29:00Speaker 1: fall asleep in less than a minute. Who can do that?
- 29:04Speaker 1: I can do that? But I also but you know me,
- 29:06Speaker 1: I stay up way too late. I wake up super early.
- 29:09Speaker 1: So well, I'm one of those of the second you know,
- 29:12Speaker 1: I get horizontal. Yeah it's over. We also had We
- 29:16Speaker 1: also had Wow. We also had Julie, who said I
- 29:22Speaker 1: used to be able to snap my fingers but can't anymore.
- 29:25Speaker 1: And I'm not the greatest at whistling either.
- 29:28Speaker 3: I didn't know that snapping was a skill that could
- 29:30Speaker 3: leave you.
- 29:31Speaker 2: I thought that was like riding a bike.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I wouldn't. I would also add I'm probably not
- 29:36Speaker 1: the greatest snapper of all time. I do it very weird.
- 29:39Speaker 1: You know how you have your thumb on your middle finger,
- 29:42Speaker 1: that's why you do it right, And then what do
- 29:43Speaker 1: you have your pointer finger just up in the air.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:45Speaker 1: See, I almost make like an AOK sign and sign language.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 29:49Speaker 1: And then I bend my thumb over my pointer finger.
- 29:53Speaker 2: The way your and this to me, that's not a snap.
- 29:56Speaker 2: What are you doing, sir? You can't snap, you can't listen.
- 30:02Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 30:03Speaker 1: It's just not great. And it's really funny because Victoria
- 30:06Speaker 1: she can't whistle and Robbie can't snap his fingers due
- 30:10Speaker 1: did we not learn this in school? Where do you
- 30:12Speaker 1: learn to snap? Grandpa? Who teaches you?
- 30:15Speaker 4: Know?
- 30:15Speaker 2: Grandpa teaches you how to pull a finger?
- 30:17Speaker 1: That's right. There's a TikTok expert. Ah.
- 30:26Speaker 2: You gotta love those TikTok experts.
- 30:28Speaker 1: That's right. And she will be one until I am
- 30:31Speaker 1: proven otherwise, I guess. And you might be that proof today, Angie.
- 30:34Speaker 1: If you could do me a favor like Norman did
- 30:37Speaker 1: you just what is happening to you?
- 30:40Speaker 2: Just crack?
- 30:42Speaker 1: That's right. If you could do me a favor, and
- 30:44Speaker 1: I play the role of all women, yes, this morning
- 30:48Speaker 1: on Big ninety eight point seven, that would be great.
- 30:50Speaker 1: If you are a lady and you're hanging out with
- 30:52Speaker 1: us this morning, I want you to take a listen
- 30:54Speaker 1: to these and let me know if this woman is
- 30:56Speaker 1: onto something. If you are a guy, you might discover
- 31:01Speaker 1: you're more attractive to ladies than you originally thought. Kaylee, Okay,
- 31:05Speaker 1: she has four of these. Let's drop the first one.
- 31:08Speaker 4: These are signs that you're way more attractive to women
- 31:12Speaker 4: than you think you are.
- 31:13Speaker 2: One.
- 31:13Speaker 4: Women get awkward around you. Nervous, laughter, talking fast, fidgeting,
- 31:19Speaker 4: all signs that you make her nervous because she's attracted.
- 31:22Speaker 1: What do you think about that? Is that true? Angie?
- 31:25Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 31:27Speaker 3: I find that The only time that I get like
- 31:30Speaker 3: nervous and awkward whatever is if I think the guy
- 31:33Speaker 3: I'm talking to is a nervous, awkward person, Like I
- 31:37Speaker 3: match that energy.
- 31:38Speaker 2: If I'm into you, then maybe that's just a meeting.
- 31:41Speaker 2: I'm pretty bold about it for sure.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, here's the second one.
- 31:45Speaker 4: Two. It feels like people are always watching you. It's
- 31:49Speaker 4: not your imagination. People naturally look longer at someone they
- 31:53Speaker 4: find attractive.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Have you ever caught yourself staring off into the distance
- 31:57Speaker 1: and you realize you were just staring at Fabio and
- 31:59Speaker 1: didn't know OBV.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Yeah, like I, yes, I agree with this. I remember
- 32:04Speaker 2: even going.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Back as far as eighth grade that I would catch
- 32:09Speaker 3: myself looking across the science table at Brad Wozick, and
- 32:13Speaker 3: then he would like catch me looking at him, and
- 32:15Speaker 3: I'd divert my eyes and it was like, dang it.
- 32:16Speaker 2: Angie, But yeah, if I'm staring it because I'm into you.
- 32:19Speaker 1: All right.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Number three three, people ask for your advice. People only
- 32:24Speaker 4: ask for advice from others that they admire or aspire
- 32:28Speaker 4: to be.
