• 1:54
Speaker 4: get some special coming up from our listeners this morning. Also,
• 1:56
Speaker 4: the Thundering Herd has the monumental task of going to
• 2:00
Speaker 4: i'm us to take on Ohio State at the Shoe
• 2:02
Speaker 4: High School. Wise, we don't have our traditional game tonight normally,
• 2:07
Speaker 4: you know, we have Hurricane on five ADWCCHS and then
• 2:10
Speaker 4: we have Herbert Hoover on ninety six one KWS, our
• 2:13
Speaker 4: sister station. Well, the Redskins of Hurricane are playing somewhere
• 2:18
Speaker 4: on the road in Michigan. However, we are going to
• 2:21
Speaker 4: have a live stream of that game, but not on
• 2:25
Speaker 4: the radio. It'll be at WCCHS network dot com. So
• 2:28
Speaker 4: if you've been following Hurricane Redskins this season on five ADWCCHS, again,
• 2:32
Speaker 4: they're playing in Michigan. We talk about a road game.
• 2:35
Speaker 4: That's a heck of a road game. We will have
• 2:38
Speaker 4: the audio coverage at wcchsnetwork dot com, so be sure
• 2:43
Speaker 4: and check that out tonight. Herbert Hoover is off tonight. Again,
• 2:45
Speaker 4: we normally have them on our sister station, ninety six
• 2:48
Speaker 4: one KWS, but they're off tonight, So no high school
• 2:51
Speaker 4: preview with Tom Bragg or Chris Lawrence this morning. I
• 2:54
Speaker 4: will invite you, though, to stick around tonight because after
• 2:57
Speaker 4: ten o'clock or so we'll be joining Fred Persinger Dave
• 3:00
Speaker 4: Jecklin with high school game nights coming up on the
• 3:03
Speaker 4: show this morning. Mayor Scott Edwards of Hurricanes is going
• 3:05
Speaker 4: to join us to talk about their fall festival tomorrow
• 3:07
Speaker 4: and some other things going on in Hurricane Leah's Legacy.
• 3:12
Speaker 4: This is a five k run and walk that's going
• 3:15
Speaker 4: to be held Sunday in Charleston. We're going to get
• 3:17
Speaker 4: into that with some of the organizers, plus Jill Garon
• 3:19
Speaker 4: from the Dirty Birds. We'll be joining us. The Bird's
• 3:22
Speaker 4: playoff game. They were off last night. Their game is
• 3:25
Speaker 4: tonight at Gastonia. That series currently tied at one game
• 3:29
Speaker 4: a piece, the Birds taking game one on Tuesday night
• 3:32
Speaker 4: ago Mark Ballpark. Gastonia took game two and then they
• 3:35
Speaker 4: were off last night, so now they go on the
• 3:37
Speaker 4: road best of five and the series is tied at
• 3:40
Speaker 4: one game apiece. Joe Gearan from the Dirty Birds will
• 3:41
Speaker 4: join us to talk about that a little bit later on.
• 3:44
Speaker 4: We are having issues connecting with Hannah from the Canawah
• 3:47
Speaker 4: Charleston Humane Association with this week's Adopt Me Please Pet
• 3:50
Speaker 4: of the Week. So Ryan is feverishly working to try
• 3:54
Speaker 4: to get a hold of Hannah to see what the
• 3:55
Speaker 4: deal is there. If we get her, then we will
• 3:59
Speaker 4: we'll put her on the line. But I do have
• 4:02
Speaker 4: our dog, as I do every week. The picture is
• 4:04
Speaker 4: posted at Dave Allen Radio and Facebook and at Dave
• 4:08
Speaker 4: a seventy on Twitter, and again, if Hannah is able
• 4:10
Speaker 4: to join us, we'll add her to update us on
• 4:13
Speaker 4: some things going on at the shelter. But our dog
• 4:15
Speaker 4: this week, and I love this name. The dog's name
• 4:17
Speaker 4: is Agent Beef. Agent Beef is three years old. He
• 4:22
Speaker 4: is around fifty three pounds. He is deaf. So whoever
• 4:26
Speaker 4: adopts this dog is going to have to be somebody
• 4:28
Speaker 4: that's willing to work with Agent Deaf. Our agent Agent Beef.
• 4:34
Speaker 4: Agent Beef, who is deaf. Agent Beef is vaccinated. He
• 4:39
Speaker 4: is microchipped and neutered, and seems to be kid friendly.
• 4:43
Speaker 4: He does prefer calmer dogs. He loves naps among his
• 4:46
Speaker 4: doesen't and he also loves to play with his tennis balls.
• 4:49
Speaker 4: And he loves to eat chicken. So there you go.
• 4:51
Speaker 4: That's our dog. We got her, We got her all right.
• 4:55
Speaker 4: Hannah is with us right now. Hannah, Good morning, Welcome
• 4:58
Speaker 4: to the show. Hannah. Are you there all right? Hannah,
• 5:05
Speaker 4: good morning, good morning. There you are there you are?
• 5:08
Speaker 4: We started without you this morning. Oh man, we didn't
• 5:13
Speaker 4: have high school football preview, that's what you know. I
• 5:15
Speaker 4: told you that. So because Herbert Hoover's off tonight and
• 5:20
Speaker 4: Chris Lawrence, who normally covers the Hurricane game. They're playing
• 5:23
Speaker 4: way on the road in Michigan, so we didn't do
• 5:25
Speaker 4: the high school football preview. So you got called into
• 5:27
Speaker 4: action a little bit earlier this morning. But appreciate you
• 5:31
Speaker 4: joining us. I've already told the folks a little bit
• 5:33
Speaker 4: about Agent Beef, but I will let you pick up
• 5:36
Speaker 4: and maybe on anything that I didn't cover. So tell
• 5:38
Speaker 4: us all about Agent Beef.
• 5:41
Speaker 7: All right, Well, Agent Beef is about three is years old. Again,
• 5:46
Speaker 7: we always go by their guns and their teeth, so
• 5:49
Speaker 7: it could be a roundabout. But he is neutered already,
• 5:53
Speaker 7: and he was actually abandoned in a home, so I
• 5:57
Speaker 7: think one of our human ousters found him and brought
• 5:59
Speaker 7: him in. And he is death So he is gonna
• 6:05
Speaker 7: need someone who can either has experience with a death
• 6:10
Speaker 7: dog and is willing to take in another death dog,
• 6:13
Speaker 7: or is looking for someone like Agent Bees, or you know,
• 6:17
Speaker 7: anyone who just has the extra connotations to learn about
• 6:21
Speaker 7: him and his needs and things like that would be
• 6:24
Speaker 7: very much a good good home for him. He is
• 6:28
Speaker 7: vaccinated in micro chips already, and he's about fifty three
• 6:32
Speaker 7: ish pounds, and then he has been in a home
• 6:37
Speaker 7: before and it just didn't work out with them. But
• 6:41
Speaker 7: he we do know now that he absolutely loves chicken
• 6:45
Speaker 7: and he is kids friendly, but of course we always
• 6:49
Speaker 7: have asked caution with that. It's definitely something when bringing
• 6:53
Speaker 7: in a new dog. It's kind of like bringing in
• 6:55
Speaker 7: a new kid. You know, you can't just immediately start
• 6:57
Speaker 7: doing everything with them. They've got to get used to
• 6:59
Speaker 7: it thing, So always advised paution with kids around, no
• 7:04
Speaker 7: matter how friendly the dog is. He prefers comer dogs
• 7:08
Speaker 7: as friends or siblings if you if you have other
• 7:11
Speaker 7: dogs already, he definitely would love to have somebody to
• 7:16
Speaker 7: play with. But he does like the commer dogs. He
• 7:19
Speaker 7: has a playful side, but he also has a well
• 7:22
Speaker 7: you know, I'm done playing, I'm gonna lay down.
• 7:26
Speaker 4: I love that. Where does the name Agent Beef come from?
• 7:31
Speaker 7: I honestly let me. Whenever a dog comes in lately
• 7:35
Speaker 7: to the animal shelter, where we have had absolutely so
• 7:39
Speaker 7: many animals lately, it's so hard to start thinking of
• 7:44
Speaker 7: repeatedly done over and over again. So we start trying
• 7:47
Speaker 7: to like branch out into other things. And and I
• 7:51
Speaker 7: think what happened was somebody thought of Agent p and
• 7:56
Speaker 7: then just said Agent Beef because he's a beefie with
• 8:01
  Speaker 7: he's thicker looking.
• 8:02
  Speaker 4: He's a beefy looking boy. I like that. We'll have
• 8:06
Speaker 4: more an Agent Beef coming up here in a couple
• 8:07
Speaker 4: of moments. Hand, I do want to do a quick
• 8:09
Speaker 4: review of kegs for canines. This was actually my first
• 8:12
Speaker 4: time of getting to attend the event. My date was
• 8:15
Speaker 4: Steve Animal of ninety eighty seven The Mountain Wild, Wonderful
• 8:19
Speaker 4: classic rock. Steve and I get to go in there
• 8:20
Speaker 4: and hang out a little bit. And I mean I
• 8:22
Speaker 4: didn't get to stay for the entire event, as we
• 8:25
Speaker 4: had to get back down to rib Fest. But in
• 8:28
Speaker 4: the time that I was there, in the brief time,
• 8:31
Speaker 4: we had two dogs adopted while I was there alone,
• 8:34
Speaker 4: So turned out to be a pretty successful event.
• 8:38
Speaker 7: Yes, I believe there was. All of the puppies that
• 8:41
Speaker 7: we took except for one of them got adopted.
• 8:44
Speaker 4: Oh that's awesome, that's awesome. And I actually know one
• 8:47
Speaker 4: of the guys, Mark, who adopted one of the dogs,
• 8:53
Speaker 4: and that's just an absolutely beautiful, beautiful dog that he adopted.
• 8:57
Speaker 4: So all in all the good event.
• 8:59
Speaker 7: Yes, it was great and successful. You know, we had
• 9:02
Speaker 7: a lot of good success with the fundraiser portion of
• 9:05
Speaker 7: it as a whole. So it was just very good
• 9:07
Speaker 7: and we had a blast and we had a lot
• 9:09
Speaker 7: more people than last year.
• 9:10
Speaker 4: Yeah, it was and then of course the weather was great.
• 9:13
Speaker 4: You know, there's so many different things going on in Charleston,
• 9:15
Speaker 4: but you had the WVU pit game, which didn't turn
• 9:17
Speaker 4: out the way everybody wanted it to, but we had
• 9:19
Speaker 4: that on the big screen down there, so I had
• 9:21
Speaker 4: soft to everybody for making that happen. Earlier this weekend
• 9:23
Speaker 4: of the United Way of Central West Virginia had their
• 9:26
Speaker 4: nineteenth Annual Day of Caring, and I know, just perusing
• 9:30
Speaker 4: the social media there, I knew that you folks at
• 9:31
Speaker 4: the shelter were the recipients of some of the free
• 9:34
Speaker 4: labor as part of that, courtesy of CAMC and some
• 9:37
  Speaker 4: other places.
• 9:39
Speaker 7: Yeah, so we were really excited to have I believe
• 9:43
Speaker 7: we had around twenty ish people from CAMC Women's and Children,
• 9:47
Speaker 7: and then I think we had a few from the
• 9:49
Speaker 7: West Virginia Human Rights Commission and then Ashworth Heating and
• 9:52
Speaker 7: Cooling also was there working on some stuff as well,
• 9:56
Speaker 7: so everybody was there helping out. We had lots of
• 9:59
Speaker 7: them walking down doing dog and Richmond which is making
• 10:02
Speaker 7: the treats and the toys and stuff for them, and
• 10:04
Speaker 7: it was very successful and we're very very thankful and
• 10:06
Speaker 7: appreciative of everything they did while they were here.
• 10:09
Speaker 4: It turned out to be a really really good day.
• 10:10
Speaker 4: It's nine seventeen to Dave Allen showing five videy Live
• 10:13
Speaker 4: brought to you in part by Jute for the best
• 10:14

• 10:17
Speaker 4: to Jute joot of tays values are protected by Jute
• 10:20
Speaker 4: dot Com. You kind of alluded to how crowded you
• 10:23
Speaker 4: folks have been up there, Hannah. How are the numbers
• 10:25
  Speaker 4: looking now?
• 10:27
Speaker 7: Not too much different. We're still very very much at
• 10:31
Speaker 7: mex capacity as we have been for a while. It
• 10:35
Speaker 7: seems like every time we get a good chunk of
• 10:37
Speaker 7: them out, we get a good chunk of them right
• 10:39
Speaker 7: back in and then some, so it's definitely a work
• 10:43
Speaker 7: in progress. We're just trying to get a lot of
• 10:46
Speaker 7: the animals adopted and into foster homes so that way
• 10:49
Speaker 7: we can be able to care for more that need
• 10:51
Speaker 7: to come in. And we are doing a special until Sunday,
• 10:55
Speaker 7: I believe, which is eleven dollars adoption fees for everything
• 10:59
Speaker 7: in our building, so cas kittens, puppies, dogs, all of
• 11:03
Speaker 7: the above, for our eleven years of life saving they
• 11:06
Speaker 7: are eleven dollar adoption fees.
• 11:08
Speaker 4: Wow, that's good stuff. What are you in need of there, Hannah?
• 11:12
Speaker 4: What do you need right now?
• 11:14
Speaker 7: Kat? Litter and peurina, dog and cat show, paper, cowls,
• 11:19
Speaker 7: dom soap or any brand of dish washing liquid. Pretty
• 11:23
Speaker 7: much we'll accept because we're going to use it all
• 11:27
Speaker 7: So I think those are the most things that we
• 11:29
  Speaker 7: need right now.
• 11:30
Speaker 4: All right, Hannah. As always, I appreciate you being here,
• 11:32
Speaker 4: and I thank you for letting Steve Animal and I
• 11:35
Speaker 4: hang out there with you last week and at Kexter
• 11:37
Speaker 4: Cadinees at the Red Carpet. We'll talk again next week.
• 11:40
Speaker 6: Thanks a lot, all right, Thank you, Hannah.
• 11:42
Speaker 4: Gardner Again, can all charlest Ney Main association with Agent
• 11:45
Speaker 4: Beef this week's Adopt me please pet of the Week.
• 11:48
Speaker 4: Agent Beef is three years old, he's around fifty three pounds.
• 11:52
Speaker 4: He is deaf. So before you make that decision to
• 11:54
Speaker 4: adopt Agent Beef, you just need to know that never
• 11:57
Speaker 4: had a well, actually I had Brielee. I think my
• 12:02
Speaker 4: sister at one point when she was little, had a
• 12:04
Speaker 4: deaf cat, but for some reason or another that didn't
• 12:09
Speaker 4: didn't last very long. I don't know it was my
• 12:11
Speaker 4: sister wasn't me, but anyway, Agent Beef is three years old.
• 12:15
Speaker 4: He is around fifty three pounds. As I said, he
• 12:18
Speaker 4: is deaf. He was found in an abandoned house. He
• 12:21
Speaker 4: is vaccinated, he is micro chipped and newter and he
• 12:24
Speaker 4: appears to be kid friendly. He does prefer caalmer dogs,
• 12:28
Speaker 4: loves naps, loves to play with tennis balls, and loves
• 12:31
Speaker 4: to eat chicken. So there you go. Sounds like an
• 12:35
Speaker 4: all around good dog right there. So if you can
• 12:37
Speaker 4: handle you know, again, take special kind and have a
• 12:39
Speaker 4: deaf pet. But otherwise just a great great dog. Loves
• 12:42
Speaker 4: his naps, loves a tennis ball, loves the chicken. I've
• 12:44
Speaker 4: got his picture posted at Dave Island Radio on Facebook
• 12:47
Speaker 4: and also at Dave A seventy on X. The artist
• 12:50

• 17:37
Speaker 4: a big day in Hurricane in the annual Hurricane Harvest Festival.
• 17:40
Speaker 4: One till six at Hurricane City Park and it's all
• 17:43
Speaker 4: presented by Midway forward. What all is going on there?
• 17:45
Speaker 6: Mayor oh my goodness, this is our annual annual Harvest
• 17:49
Speaker 6: Festival at Hurricane City Park right in between Hurricane and
• 17:52
Speaker 6: Tayese Valley X on tays Valley Road at the Hurricane
• 17:54
Speaker 6: City Park. So we've got and everything's free and people
• 17:58
Speaker 6: love this and it's a commune coming together and we
• 18:01
Speaker 6: get people from all over our county, all over Putnam
• 18:04
Speaker 6: County as well as caval Kanaal and other counties come
• 18:06
Speaker 6: here for this event. But just to give you an idea,
• 18:08
Speaker 6: we've got free face painting, free pumpkin sand art, free petting, zoo,
• 18:13
Speaker 6: free putt putt, a bunch of free inflatables. We actually
• 18:15
Speaker 6: have free uh uh inflatable axe throwing. So everybody wants
• 18:20
Speaker 6: to throw an axe, right, you need to come out,
• 18:22
Speaker 6: Dave and throw an.
• 18:23
Speaker 4: Axe inflatable inflatable axe throwing. I mean, I don't think
• 18:27
Speaker 4: even kids, well I was gonna say, I don't think
• 18:30
Speaker 4: even I could cut myself on those.
• 18:32
Speaker 6: You maybe so, Dave, I don't know. You might be
• 18:35
Speaker 6: the one inflatable monster truck with bounce house climbing wall
• 18:39
Speaker 6: and slide. That's all you too. We have a like
• 18:42
Speaker 6: a under three kids section with ring toss racetrack, you know,
• 18:47
Speaker 6: connect four of those type of things for the real
• 18:48
Speaker 6: little ones. We got free cotton candy. You know, that's
• 18:51
Speaker 6: for everybody, right, everybody loves cotton and it's all free.
• 18:54
Speaker 6: And we haven't even talked to our Hurrican City Council
• 18:56
Speaker 6: members into coming out like they do every year, and
• 18:58
Speaker 6: they're gonna be serving free apple side to everybody. So
• 19:01
Speaker 6: those are just some of the free things we will.
• 19:04
Speaker 6: At three o'clock, we'll have our truest pumpkin pie eating contest.
• 19:08
Speaker 6: There's still a few slots available for that, so you
• 19:10
Speaker 6: can go to hurricanewv dot com slash events and register
• 19:14
Speaker 6: if you want to be part of that. And from
• 19:17
Speaker 6: four to six, there's a local up and coming country
• 19:21
Speaker 6: music singer from right here in Putnam County. He sang
• 19:23
Speaker 6: last year at one of our events. His name is
• 19:25
Speaker 6: Branton Tolliver. When he sang at our event and performed,
• 19:28
Speaker 6: all the people said we want him back. This young man,
• 19:32
Speaker 6: I think he's maybe seventeen, eighteen, nineteen years old. He's
• 19:35
Speaker 6: absolutely awesome and he's an up and coming country country
• 19:39
Speaker 6: music singer, hopefully a start someday, but he'll be performing
• 19:42
Speaker 6: from four to six at Hurricane City Park. And then
• 19:45
Speaker 6: to add on top of everything, we have fifty plus
• 19:48
Speaker 6: art and craft vendors, plus jewelry, cupcake, you know, sweet
• 19:52
Speaker 6: treat vendors, all those vendors that you know. I know
• 19:55
Speaker 6: my wife loves to go to that stuff and spend
• 19:57
Speaker 6: lots of money on with local vendors. That's a that's
• 20:00
Speaker 6: a great, great thing to happen. And then to add
• 20:03
Speaker 6: to it, the Hurricane Fire Department Auxiliary. They'll be running
• 20:07
Speaker 6: the main concession stand. They'll have hot dogs and walking tacos,
• 20:11
Speaker 6: drinks and all that type of stuff. Plus we'll have
• 20:13
Speaker 6: Chick fil A, a coffee truck and Scraggle popping it.
• 20:17
Speaker 6: I don't know, David, your had straggle pop?
• 20:19
  Speaker 4: I have, I have.
• 20:20
Speaker 6: Everybody loves straggle pops, so you can you can come
• 20:22
Speaker 6: there and buy some scraggle pops. So I've said everything free,
• 20:25
Speaker 6: everything but the food is free. Sure, but we will
• 20:28
Speaker 6: give away five hundred hot dogs, so we will have
• 20:31
Speaker 6: some free food throughout the day. So five hundred hot
• 20:33
Speaker 6: dogs will be given away.
• 20:34
Speaker 5: How do you do?
• 20:35
Speaker 4: What's the deal with the hot dogs being given away?
• 20:37
Speaker 4: How does that work?
• 20:39
Speaker 6: I'll just announce it. I'll just announce next two hundred
• 20:42
Speaker 6: and fifty hot dogs are free at a certain time,
• 20:43
Speaker 6: and then wait a couple hours and another two hundred
• 20:46
Speaker 6: and fifty are free.
• 20:47
Speaker 4: So you're gonna have a hot dog stampede there mayor
• 20:50
  Speaker 4: we do.
• 20:51
Speaker 6: We do, and it's awesome. It's awesome. And I'll tell
• 20:53
Speaker 6: you mentioned presented by Midway Forward in the beginning. I
• 20:56
Speaker 6: want to thank Midway Forward and if I've got just
• 20:58
Speaker 6: a moment for our span.
• 21:00
Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely, Actually is gonna be the next thing I
• 21:02
Speaker 4: get to because these things that are all free don't
• 21:04
Speaker 4: happen without sponsors. So give them, give them a.
• 21:06
Speaker 6: Shout out, and I will say that today people think
• 21:09
Speaker 6: where's Actually a lot of people don't realize where does
• 21:12
Speaker 6: the money come from for all this free stuff in
• 21:14
Speaker 6: our community? Midway Forward our annual sponsors for all of
• 21:18
Speaker 6: our events, Putnam County Bank, Westria, American Water, Martin's, Peterbilt, O,
• 21:22
Speaker 6: Doubt Orthodonics, Creative Pediatric Dentistry, and then some specific event sponsors.
• 21:27
Speaker 6: My friend Eric Embry at Tyree Embry Pulling, Fowler, Flanning
• 21:31
Speaker 6: and Brown and Poe h and R Block, Truest, Civil
• 21:34
Speaker 6: and environmental consultants and Family Care. So all these people
• 21:38
Speaker 6: came together with thousands and thousands of dollars so that
• 21:41
Speaker 6: the community can have all this stuff for free and
• 21:43
Speaker 6: have a free day. So it's it's amazing what our
• 21:47
Speaker 6: community does. And then we're going to give away a
• 21:49
Speaker 6: bunch of free a bunch of free event t shirts
• 21:52
Speaker 6: as well, So we'd like to have a really really
• 21:55
Speaker 6: good time at this event. And you know, and it's
• 21:58
Speaker 6: it's one of those events where used you may see
• 22:00
Speaker 6: people you haven't seen any year or two or five years,
• 22:02
Speaker 6: the old high school friends, that type of thing. You
• 22:05
Speaker 6: see young people bringing their young kids. It's just it's
• 22:08
Speaker 6: just wonderful here in Hurricane We.
• 22:10
Speaker 4: Got a text of the show here. May or somebody
• 22:12
Speaker 4: wants to know what exactly is pumpkin sand art.
• 22:16
Speaker 6: Pumpkin sand art is. I have no idea. I know
• 22:21
Speaker 6: that I know. I'm guessing I know that sand art is.
• 22:25
Speaker 6: They have those those plastic tubes and their shape. This
• 22:28
Speaker 6: one's probably shaped like a pumpkin, I'm guessing. And you
• 22:31
Speaker 6: pour your sand different collars of sand in and it
• 22:34
Speaker 6: stacks up and then you put a cap on it.
• 22:36
Speaker 6: You've got this really neat artistic thing that you've made
• 22:40
Speaker 6: using different layers of different collars of sand. It's really neat.
• 22:43
Speaker 6: But I don't those was the word pumpkin in I
• 22:45
Speaker 6: don't know what that meant, but maybe it's pumpkin, you know,
• 22:49
Speaker 6: fall collar sand. I really don't know, but that I'll
• 22:52
Speaker 6: go do one and I'll message you with a picture
• 22:55
Speaker 6: of it Saturday and you can you can see what
• 22:56
Speaker 6: is until you tell your listeners sometimes and I'll tell
• 22:59
Speaker 6: you the other thing people need to know because we
• 23:01
Speaker 6: will have thousands of people show up. They should bring
• 23:04
Speaker 6: their hiking shoes too. Because Hurricane the Harvest Festival it's
• 23:08
Speaker 6: at Hurricane City Park, right. It's the base of Meeks
• 23:11
Speaker 6: Mountain Trails, right. And I know that it's not a
• 23:14
Speaker 6: Meex Mountain Trails conversation the day, but people that are
• 23:16
Speaker 6: visiting here for this event, you know, we've got five
• 23:20
Speaker 6: hundred acres and thirty two glorious miles of handdug trail
• 23:24
Speaker 6: system literally two hundred yards away from where this Harvest
• 23:28
Speaker 6: festival will be. So so the trailhead is right there.
• 23:32
Speaker 6: Enjoy the harvest festival for sure for a few hours,
• 23:34
Speaker 6: grab your you know, and you don't have to have
• 23:37
Speaker 6: special hiking shoes. You mean, it's where your tennis shoes
• 23:39
Speaker 6: and take your kids for a walk. But I urge
• 23:41
Speaker 6: people take your family for a walk on Meek's Mountain
• 23:44
Speaker 6: Trails during or after the event, well in the perfect time.
• 23:48
Speaker 4: Right And you can see what all the hooplaws about
• 23:50
Speaker 4: over the last month, because I've spent time talking about
• 23:52
Speaker 4: it on the show here and that was this the
• 23:55
Speaker 4: power company plan where they were going to, you know,
• 23:58
Speaker 4: possibly disrupt some of Meek's Mountain Trails. I don't know
• 24:01
Speaker 4: where if there's an update on that, maybe do you
• 24:03
Speaker 4: have an any update on that mayor no.
• 24:05
Speaker 6: Real update that the community has I knew we had
• 24:09
Speaker 6: a massive community over the last five years that has
• 24:11
Speaker 6: been created by Meeks Mountain Trails. Meeks Mountain Trails is
• 24:14
Speaker 6: the center of Hurriek and it's the center of our
• 24:17
Speaker 6: of our everything right now. And there's there's thousands and
• 24:20
Speaker 6: thousands of people revolving around this and I was talked
• 24:22
Speaker 6: to some folks yesterday. You know, there's there's there's businesses
• 24:26
Speaker 6: that support it, restaurants that support it, and some of
• 24:28
Speaker 6: those people may or may not even use the trail system.
• 24:31
Speaker 6: But but this community is supportive of it. And when
• 24:34
Speaker 6: it you know, when it came out that that ap
• 24:36
Speaker 6: was looking to possibly you know, that was where their
• 24:40
Speaker 6: lives were going to go. Uh, the community has really
• 24:43
Speaker 6: risen up and and really we're all extremely hopeful that
• 24:48
Speaker 6: that a different road is choosing the disruption of that
• 24:51
Speaker 6: trail system. It's again I mentioned it's thirty two miles,
• 24:54
Speaker 6: but it's only on five hundred acres, So I don't
• 24:57
Speaker 6: know if you've probably seen the map that it's extremely dipps.
• 25:01
Speaker 6: It's extremely if that's the right word to use. Thirty
• 25:05
Speaker 6: two miles on five hundred acres had to be planned
• 25:07
Speaker 6: out very well to get them there, so there's up
• 25:10
Speaker 6: and back. It looks like a maze or spaghetti in
• 25:13
Speaker 6: a way. It's not like ten thousand acres where you
• 25:15
Speaker 6: have twenty miles of trails and they're all spread out.
• 25:19
Speaker 6: So the lines, you know, this one hundred foot right
• 25:22
Speaker 6: away and all these that would be bulldozed out and
• 25:26
Speaker 6: all these lines placed across it. You know, if I
• 25:28
Speaker 6: went out and just walked one of the trails. I
• 25:30
Speaker 6: may have to cross this thing eight, ten, twenty times
• 25:33
Speaker 6: just in one day of being out on the trail.
• 25:35
Speaker 6: So that's why the community has come together and really
• 25:38
Speaker 6: asking AP really to partner with AAP and let's look
• 25:41
Speaker 6: at something that this is one of the biggest This
• 25:44
Speaker 6: is on the radar, not just in Hurricane Putnam County,
• 25:48
Speaker 6: even at the state level of one of the it's
• 25:51
Speaker 6: such an awesome thing that's been placed in West Virginia.
• 25:54
Speaker 6: You know, as you know our health in West Virginia,
• 25:57
Speaker 6: we're usually last on the list of the country. And
• 26:00
Speaker 6: this is something that's changing people's lives and letting people
• 26:04
Speaker 6: live healthier lifestyle, getting outside more, living better, living longer.
• 26:10
Speaker 6: Just about this trail system. So we're we're really coming together.
• 26:14
Speaker 6: There's really no update right now where we're all working
• 26:17
Speaker 6: with AP and and all the powers that be to
• 26:20
Speaker 6: look at many alternatives and we really want to want
• 26:24
Speaker 6: something different and we're really hopeful, but we really want
• 26:26
Speaker 6: to partner with AP and do something and continue to
• 26:29
Speaker 6: do something great together. I mean, how great is that
• 26:32
Speaker 6: if they end up being our partner and now we're
• 26:34
Speaker 6: doing this and this is so great for the stake
• 26:37
Speaker 6: and we want to keep doing great things together and
• 26:41
Speaker 6: not disrupt the Meek Mountain trails. But again I urge
• 26:43
Speaker 6: families on Saturday to you tomorrow plan on not just
• 26:48
Speaker 6: coming to the Harvest festival. Take a walk find me.
• 26:51
Speaker 6: I'll be there at the Harvest Festival. I want to
• 26:53
Speaker 6: walk with you. I'll tell you where to go. It's
• 26:54
Speaker 6: it's easy, so I think it would be be wonderful.
• 26:57
Speaker 4: Talking about your Scott Edwards again about the Hurricane Harvest
• 27:00
Speaker 4: Festival which is happening tomorrow at Hurricane City Park. We
• 27:02
Speaker 4: had a text here if somebody wanting to know whether
• 27:04
Speaker 4: there be any animals there from the Putnam Shelter there tomorrow,
• 27:07
Speaker 4: any plans on that.
• 27:09
Speaker 6: I don't believe that the shelters bringing animals. It's not
• 27:13
Speaker 6: on my list. I didn't see that, but you never know.
• 27:16
Speaker 6: You never know. Maybe you will add that from the
• 27:20
Speaker 6: If somebody from the shelter wants to contact me, they'll
• 27:23
Speaker 6: contact me and we should make it happen.
• 27:26

• 27:47
Speaker 4: in Hurricane? I like to give anytime I have a
• 27:49
Speaker 4: mayor on the show, I like to give them an
• 27:51
Speaker 4: opportunity to do a little cheerleading for their community. I
• 27:54
Speaker 4: got to say this, I'm want to get a cheap
• 27:56
Speaker 4: plug in here for the folks at Sergio's. Last night,
• 28:00
Speaker 4: it was my wedding anniversary. My wife and I went
• 28:01
Speaker 4: out to I let her buy me dinner last night.
• 28:04
Speaker 4: We went to Sergio's ere on Main Street. Food was
• 28:07
Speaker 4: absolutely fantastic. That has been a great addition to the
• 28:11
Speaker 4: city of Hurricane. It's right there on Main Street. But
• 28:13
Speaker 4: what else was going on in Hurricane the Scott Mayor
• 28:14
Speaker 4: Scott Edwards excited these days.
• 28:17
Speaker 6: You know, I'll tell you our Hurricane Bridge Park has
• 28:19
Speaker 6: me really excited. You know. We had our grand opening
• 28:21
Speaker 6: this year of our four extremely high end baseball softball
• 28:26
Speaker 6: fields and we kind of soft opening this summer, we
• 28:29
Speaker 6: had eight or nine tournaments. Kids came in from many, many,
• 28:34
Speaker 6: many states, all come from all over and that has
• 28:37
Speaker 6: opened up our community that we're showing off our community.
• 28:40
Speaker 6: We're showing off our main street. We're filling up our hotels,
• 28:44
Speaker 6: not just in Hurricane but in Tays Valley and all around.
• 28:47
Speaker 6: You know, when these teams come in, they'll bring fifty
• 28:50
Speaker 6: sixty teams in from six or seven states and spend
• 28:53
Speaker 6: two three days, and lots of money, I mean lots
• 28:57
Speaker 6: of money flows into the city and Indeputtl'm and I'm
• 29:00
Speaker 6: excited about that because it again, it doesn't just get
• 29:03
Speaker 6: boys and girls playing baseball and softball, but it you know,
• 29:07
Speaker 6: it's economic development for the city. And then the disc
• 29:10
Speaker 6: golf course. You know, our disc golf course at Hurricane
• 29:13
Speaker 6: Bridge Park and the one at Valley Park. I'm guessing
• 29:16
Speaker 6: they're probably vne all the time for the number one
• 29:18
Speaker 6: disc golf course in the state. And I hope it's
• 29:20
Speaker 6: always number one, number two, number one, number two. I
• 29:22
Speaker 6: don't care which one is number one or two, but
• 29:25
Speaker 6: we have two of the best disc golf courses in
• 29:28
Speaker 6: the whole state. While you're a Hurricane and we have many,
• 29:32
Speaker 6: many events planned next year for that as well. So
• 29:35
Speaker 6: you know, we had our Hurricane hundred k on again.
• 29:37
Speaker 6: I rang up Meeks Mountain Trail. I was at that
• 29:39
Speaker 6: event and looking forward twelve months from now to the
• 29:43
Speaker 6: next Hurricane hundred K. I mean, who runs one hundred
• 29:45
Speaker 6: k in the woods? Now, There's no chance I'm doing it.
• 29:50
Speaker 6: But I was there when they kicked it off at
• 29:52
Speaker 6: six am. But I'm already looking forward to next years
• 29:56
Speaker 6: seeing how many hundreds of people from all over the country.
• 30:00
Speaker 6: I absolutely love. And again you ask what gets me excited.
• 30:03
Speaker 6: I love when people come here from all these states.
• 30:05
Speaker 6: We're getting visitors from all over the country to Meex
• 30:08
Speaker 6: Mountain trails and to our baseball fields and to other
• 30:12
Speaker 6: things in Hurricane I love talking to those folks. They
• 30:16
Speaker 6: love Hurricane and Putnam County. They say it all the time.
• 30:20
Speaker 6: We actually have I was talking with some folks a
• 30:22
Speaker 6: couple of days ago. We I think it's sixteen families
• 30:26
Speaker 6: have moved here in the last two years due to
• 30:29
Speaker 6: what we have in hurricanes, specifically Meex Mountain trails. So
• 30:32
Speaker 6: those they get me excited. You know, I'm really excited,
• 30:37
Speaker 6: and I'm excited about what's next to come? You know,
• 30:39
Speaker 6: we have a one year, three year, five year plan
• 30:41
Speaker 6: of different things. And and yes, people ask me all
• 30:46
Speaker 6: the time, restaurants one or more restaurants. We have a
• 30:48
Speaker 6: ton of restaurants now, but people don't maybe we don't
• 30:50
Speaker 6: know about don't think about it.
• 30:51
Speaker 4: A ton of great restaurants.
• 30:54
Speaker 6: You know, you mentioned Sergio's. We have doll Napple on
• 30:56
Speaker 6: main Street. You know we we have main Street Cream.
• 31:00
Speaker 6: Those are just three on main Street plus all the
• 31:02
Speaker 6: others that are around, you know, just Hurricane Tage Valley.
• 31:05
Speaker 6: I mean, you go over to Winfield and there's restaurants there.
• 31:08
Speaker 6: So a lot of people don't realize unless they're within
• 31:10
Speaker 6: two miles of their home, you know, drive five or
• 31:14
Speaker 6: ten minutes and there's a lot of restaurants. But I
• 31:17
Speaker 6: will tell you there's more to come soon. I can't
• 31:20
Speaker 6: mention anything. Okay, you're not well, pride out of me,
• 31:22
  Speaker 6: all right?
• 31:23
Speaker 4: Not we got to go anyway, But I know that
• 31:26
Speaker 4: when the time is right, you'll you'll give me a
• 31:29
Speaker 4: buzz and we'll get you on the show.
• 31:31

• 31:31

  Speaker 14: Thank you.
• 37:47
Speaker 4: Tell us Michael starts with you. Tell us the story
• 37:49
  Speaker 4: of Leah.
• 37:50
  Speaker 11: So Les Dreckland.
• 37:51
Speaker 15: You know she was a avid athlete at Herbert Hoover
• 37:54
  Speaker 15: High School.
• 37:55
Speaker 11: Two years ago we were playing I was coach. I
• 37:59
Speaker 11: coached Locker Hebert who ever, he's a soccer player.
• 38:01
Speaker 15: So we were coming home from the Braxton County soccer game,
• 38:04
Speaker 15: and we lost her in a car accident. So throughout
• 38:08
Speaker 15: all that we decided to create a scholarship to memorialize her.
• 38:14
Speaker 15: So through that we needed to raise fund, so we
• 38:16
Speaker 15: created the Lea's Legacy five K Walk to My Run,
• 38:21
Speaker 15: to My five k Run to My Walk, GRAF Kids
• 38:24
Speaker 15: Fun Run, and so just to kind of help raise
• 38:26
  Speaker 15: money celebrate Lis.
• 38:27
  Speaker 2: She was.
• 38:28
  Speaker 11: She loved running.
• 38:29
Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely, Sarah Fletcher's with Now, you're the director of this,
• 38:33
Speaker 4: is that right? As far as the right.
• 38:34
Speaker 14: Well, I'm on the race committee.
• 38:36
Speaker 4: Okay, well just yes, did you get a whistle and
• 38:40
  Speaker 4: a clip board? That's what that's what that means? What's
• 38:42
Speaker 4: what's your rolling all this?
• 38:43
Speaker 14: Well, I'm I'm the runner in the crew, So I
• 38:46
Speaker 14: helped them mark the course and get things ready and
• 38:49
Speaker 14: you know, come up with all the needs that the
• 38:51
Speaker 14: runners may have during the race.
• 38:53
Speaker 4: And this event is going to be Sunday. Everything starts
• 38:56
Speaker 4: at Slight Plaza. But if you are not a runner,
• 39:00
Speaker 4: not but you can still stop by because you got
• 39:03
Speaker 4: a lot more going on just besides the physical exertion,
• 39:05
Speaker 4: You've got a lot of other stuff going on there too.
• 39:07
  Speaker 7: Right.
• 39:07
Speaker 15: Absolutely, we have live entertainment from the New Old Souls.
• 39:11
Speaker 11: They're gonna be playing music.
• 39:12
Speaker 15: We have food trucks, adult beverages, non alcoholic beverages, just
• 39:18
Speaker 15: a little bit and just everything in the slack Claws.
• 39:19
Speaker 11: It'll be been. It'll be nice.
• 39:22
Speaker 4: So somebody's going to tell you, hey, do you know
• 39:25
Speaker 4: you're on the radio.
• 39:26
Speaker 11: So but yes, it'll be we do.
• 39:28
Speaker 15: If you don't have to run, you don't even have
• 39:29
Speaker 15: to be you know walker, just come down and hang out, celebrate.
• 39:32
Speaker 15: That's what we wanted. Phil Slyck Claza and it's all Sunday,
• 39:36
Speaker 15: starts at five five o'clock.
• 39:37
  Speaker 11: Five round.
• 39:38
Speaker 4: And how many years have you been doing this?
• 39:39
Speaker 11: This is the second se year because I.
• 39:40
Speaker 4: Had join last year for the first year, well give
• 39:43
Speaker 4: us a review of last year.
• 39:44
Speaker 15: I was sure was phenomenal. We had over five hundred participants. Wow,
• 39:48
Speaker 15: first year of a five k you need a race,
• 39:51
Speaker 15: so it was absolutely phenomenal. The weather wasn't ideal, but
• 39:55
Speaker 15: we still had you know, so this year we're expecting
• 39:58
Speaker 15: six to seven hundred.
• 39:59
Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm I mean the weather is going to be hot. Yeah,
• 40:02
Speaker 4: so definitely make sure you hydrate. But as far as
• 40:05
Speaker 4: the ring goes, I think we should be.
• 40:06
  Speaker 11: Pretty good ship.
• 40:07
Speaker 15: But it's actually turned out to be an extremely successful
• 40:12
Speaker 15: event for us and it's it's awesome.
• 40:14
Speaker 4: But Dave Alan showing five eighty livee presented the part
• 40:17
Speaker 4: by General Hardware of Windfield and Milton and General Lumber
• 40:19
Speaker 4: of Winfield. All projects big and small, they can handle it.
• 40:22
Speaker 4: Shop locally, visit General Hardware WV dot com. Talk about
• 40:24
Speaker 4: the support of the community and all this and not
• 40:28
Speaker 4: just sponsored but I mean just the community in general.
• 40:30
Speaker 15: The community. I mean without the community, I'm not sure
• 40:32
  Speaker 15: where I'd be. It's been really it's it's been great
• 40:36
Speaker 15: having the elk Rover and the Canal Valley. You know
• 40:38
Speaker 15: that everybody comes out and anything we need the support
• 40:41
Speaker 15: it it helps a lot. Every day it's a roller
• 40:44
Speaker 15: coaster ride. So you know, you see people been able
• 40:47
Speaker 15: to talk about Lee and most people know Lea now
• 40:49
Speaker 15: throughout all this and so it helps it at least,
• 40:52
Speaker 15: you know, it just kind of eases the pain and
• 40:54
Speaker 15: allows me to talk about Lea more.
• 40:57
Speaker 4: For those who did not know Leah tell us about
• 41:00
Speaker 4: Lee of the person.
• 41:01
Speaker 15: Lea was a very exceptional you know, she was energetic,
• 41:05
Speaker 15: always had a smile, very athletic, involved in the community,
• 41:09
Speaker 15: she played bells in the church choir, she sang in
• 41:13
  Speaker 15: the church choir.
• 41:14
  Speaker 11: She was involved.
• 41:15
Speaker 15: In so many activities community service. You know, she had
• 41:19
Speaker 15: one hundred and fifty hours community service three weeks and
• 41:22
Speaker 15: her ninth grade year.
• 41:25
Speaker 4: It's amazing. So because a lot of kids and you know,
• 41:27
Speaker 4: community services required to graduate to West Virginia, a lot
• 41:30
Speaker 4: of kids are that final two weeks before they graduate
• 41:33
Speaker 4: trying to cram everything in. She did it all in
• 41:35
Speaker 4: the first twenty minutes or so.
• 41:38
Speaker 11: Absolutely, she would have been in four sports.
• 41:41
Speaker 15: She would have been try across country, swimming, soccer. So
• 41:44
Speaker 15: like you know, with the scholarship that we give is
• 41:47
Speaker 15: based on community service, based on you know, an athletic,
• 41:50
Speaker 15: you know, been able to manage your schoolwork with your
• 41:53
Speaker 15: community service and been an active athlete. So it's a
• 41:57
Speaker 15: and we gave out to Scott the first year, we
• 42:00
Speaker 15: give out one scholarship for twenty five hundred dollars. This
• 42:02
Speaker 15: past year we gave out two scholarships of twenty five
• 42:05
Speaker 15: hundred dollars. So we give out a male and a
• 42:07
Speaker 15: female now and the goal is to move it into
• 42:10
Speaker 15: the Canal Valley as we get some more funds built
• 42:13
  Speaker 15: up and.
• 42:14
Speaker 4: For people that don't know about the routes, explain that
• 42:16
Speaker 4: to us. I know you're part of that, Sarah, so
• 42:17
Speaker 4: explain that to us.
• 42:18
  Speaker 16: Yeah.
• 42:19
Speaker 14: So the race starts in Slack Plaza and moves through Brawley,
• 42:23
Speaker 14: and then they're going to take a right on Capitol Street,
• 42:26
Speaker 14: head all the way out to Canal Boulevard, take a
• 42:28
Speaker 14: left on Canal Boulevard, and then they'll go an out
• 42:32
Speaker 14: and back on Canal Boulevard, and then they'll come back
• 42:35
Speaker 14: the same way. They'll come back down Capitol Street and
• 42:38
Speaker 14: through Brawley and finish in Slack Plaza, and the walk
• 42:41
Speaker 14: kind of follows the same course, obviously their turnarounds a
• 42:44
  Speaker 14: little shorter.
• 42:45
Speaker 4: And then stick around either during or after because you're
• 42:48

Speaker 4: Excellent point. Thank you Texter for bringing that out. Getting
• 47:39
Speaker 4: serious Now for your hometown baseball team, the Charleston Dirty
• 47:41
Speaker 4: Birds playoff series now stands at one win apiece first
• 47:44
Speaker 4: two games Tuesday night Wednesday night at Gomart Ballpark this
• 47:47
Speaker 4: past week. The Birds took Game one in dramatic fashion
• 47:50
Speaker 4: on a hit batter at the bottom of the twelfth
• 47:52
Speaker 4: Wednesday Night. That one went to Gastonia. They were off
• 47:55
Speaker 4: last night. The series picks back up tonight at Gastonias
• 47:57
Speaker 4: seven o'clock best of five. Jill Garret under the Dirty
• 48:00
Speaker 4: Birds for the third time this week is in the studio.
• 48:03
Speaker 4: Thank We're gonna change it from the part Marster studio
• 48:05
Speaker 4: to the Jill garen Studio.
• 48:06
  Speaker 16: I'll take it. I appreciate.
• 48:07
Speaker 4: But you're on the road though, I mean you're heading
• 48:09
Speaker 4: down there right yep, yep.
• 48:09
Speaker 16: We're gonna leave right around twelve. Over half of our
• 48:12
Speaker 16: front office staff is going to support the boys. A
• 48:14
Speaker 16: lot of the season ticket holders are going to so
• 48:16
Speaker 16: we're excited to show up in Gastonia.
• 48:18
Speaker 4: So the series now tied at one apiece. As as
• 48:20
Speaker 4: we said, Game three at the best of five tonight
• 48:22
Speaker 4: at Gastonia, and we have some information about starters and
• 48:25
Speaker 4: things of that nature we can put out there right officially.
• 48:27
Speaker 16: David Lebron is our starting pitcher tonight. For those of
• 48:30
Speaker 16: you who don't remember, he was the one that won
• 48:33
Speaker 16: the ballgame when we clinched in Gastonia just a week
• 48:36
Speaker 16: ago from today. He had eight scoreless innings, only gave
• 48:40
Speaker 16: up one hit one walk to end the day. He
• 48:42
Speaker 16: retired eighteen batters in a row. He got some sleep
• 48:46
Speaker 16: last night I checked in on him. We're good, he's
• 48:48
  Speaker 16: ready to go.
• 48:49
Speaker 4: And what about for them?
• 48:50
Speaker 16: For them, it's gonna be oh gosh, I'm blank on
• 48:52
Speaker 16: his first name. The last name is Wes Scott. We
• 48:54
Speaker 16: don't care anyways, exactly, it doesn't matter we're gonna hit him.
• 48:56
Speaker 16: It doesn't matter the victim.
• 48:57
Speaker 4: We'll just caught him the victim exactly. But this Gastonia team,
• 49:01
Speaker 4: as we said when you were on earlier, I mean
• 49:03
Speaker 4: we've played them, what seven eight times in a row?
• 49:05
Speaker 16: Now, yep, yeah, so we've played them eight games in
• 49:08
Speaker 16: a row. If we go a five game series, it'll
• 49:10
Speaker 16: be eleven games in a row. So we we know
• 49:13
Speaker 16: each other really well, which some people think that's a
• 49:15
  Speaker 16: bad thing. If you're a hitter, that's a great thing.
• 49:18
Speaker 16: You've seen every single one of their pitchers, so there's
• 49:21
  Speaker 16: no surprises.
• 49:22
Speaker 4: And remind folks where they can catch the game right.
• 49:24
Speaker 16: So every single game home in a way is broadcasted
• 49:27
Speaker 16: on Flow Baseball. I'm gonna be going as a fan,
• 49:29
Speaker 16: so you won't be able to listen to my fantastic voice,
• 49:32
Speaker 16: but you can listen to Noah. He's a great broadcaster
• 49:35
Speaker 16: for them, and hopefully you'll see some dirty birds fans
• 49:38
  Speaker 16: there too.
• 49:38
Speaker 4: So you're gonna see the Gastonia or you're gonna hear
• 49:41
Speaker 4: I guess the gastoniably about playing out ture. Okay, all right,
• 49:44
Speaker 4: but not you. But you're you're just there as a
• 49:45
  Speaker 4: fan and.
• 49:45
Speaker 16: A wife in a way, Yes, fan and wife.
• 49:48
Speaker 4: This is your first game, is a I mean on
• 49:49
Speaker 4: the road is a wife?
• 49:50
Speaker 16: I yeah, it's weird, It's gonna be interesting, It'll be fun.
• 49:53
Speaker 16: He told me to compose myself because I'm a former athlete,
• 49:56
Speaker 16: so I get really into it as well. And sure,
• 49:59
Speaker 16: you know there's I This team has been great. They've
• 50:01
Speaker 16: been amazing as far as a co workers out in
• 50:04
Speaker 16: the community. They're always up to go out in the
• 50:06
Speaker 16: community and support Charleston and West Virginia. So I care
• 50:09
Speaker 16: about this team a lot.
• 50:10
Speaker 4: So you said the game. The bus is going to
• 50:12
Speaker 4: pull out around noon? Is that what you said?
• 50:14
  Speaker 6: Right?
• 50:14
Speaker 4: So here's here's a wild idea if if people are
• 50:18
Speaker 4: in the area, and I don't want to cause a
• 50:20
Speaker 4: traffic jam or anything like that, because Mayor Goodwin's office
• 50:22
Speaker 4: wouldn't like that if I did that. But I will
• 50:25
Speaker 4: say this, if you've got some time around lunch if
• 50:27
Speaker 4: you want to head over to the ballpark and just
• 50:29
Speaker 4: kind of cheer, you know, cheer on the team. Is
• 50:30
Speaker 4: that something we could we could do?
• 50:31
Speaker 16: So the team's actually already there, So it's the front office,
• 50:34
Speaker 16: I believe in Well, nobody.
• 50:36
Speaker 4: Cares about the front of the to me, if you want,
• 50:39
Speaker 4: you can go punch ja Silverman in the mouth if
• 50:41
Speaker 4: you have that's that.
• 50:41
  Speaker 11: That's what.
• 50:42
Speaker 4: Okay, So the team's already there.
• 50:43
Speaker 16: Teams there. Yeah, so that's what I wondered.
• 50:45
Speaker 4: About that because that would have been you know, on
• 50:47
Speaker 4: that bus trip down there, that would that would get
• 50:49
Speaker 4: them there. You know, we're almost time for the game,
• 50:50
  Speaker 4: almost exactly.
• 50:51
Speaker 16: So they left Thursday both series Thursday as a travel day.
• 50:55
Speaker 16: So if we're in the Championship Series next week and
• 50:58
Speaker 16: you want to see them off, he can come by Thursday.
• 51:01
  Speaker 6: Right, ok?
• 51:01
Speaker 4: All right, And now again we do want to remind
• 51:03
Speaker 4: people that this is the best of five series, Jill,
• 51:06
Speaker 4: and it's tied at one apiece right now, so you're
• 51:08
Speaker 4: playing Gastoni. Again. We don't want to jinx, we don't
• 51:11
Speaker 4: do any of that kind of stuff, but if you
• 51:13
Speaker 4: should happen to pull this out, we're talking about championship baseball,
• 51:16
  Speaker 4: possibly for.
• 51:17
Speaker 16: The Dirty Birds has not. We have not won a
• 51:20
Speaker 16: league championship since we were the Wheelers back in nineteen ninety.
• 51:23
Speaker 16: I was not alive the last time that the Dirty
• 51:26
Speaker 16: Herds or the Charleston team want a championship.
• 51:28
Speaker 4: Have gone all day and not said that. But I
• 51:31
Speaker 4: think Dale Cooper, the boss around here. I think Dale
• 51:33
Speaker 4: might have been working there, really, I think, cause I
• 51:35
Speaker 4: think he worked there for a.
• 51:36
Speaker 16: One interesting if he has a championship ring left his
• 51:38
  Speaker 16: tea first.
• 51:39
Speaker 4: Well, he was probably still in I'm trying to do
• 51:41
Speaker 4: the math. He's probably still in high school there, but
• 51:42
Speaker 4: he was probably at the game. Say I'll say that
• 51:45
Speaker 4: not even born in nineteen ninety. Thank you, Jill. I
• 51:47
Speaker 4: was in college in nineteen ninety. I appreciate you pointing
• 51:50
Speaker 4: that out, all right, So again, remind people where they
• 51:52
Speaker 4: can watch the game.
• 51:53
Speaker 16: You can watch the game on a flow baseball. We
• 51:55
Speaker 16: need to win two of the next three games. First
• 51:57
Speaker 16: pitch today is seven, tomorrow seven and if Sunday is
• 52:00
  Speaker 16: two o'clock.
• 52:01
Speaker 4: And we'll be keeping a close eye on it. Jill's
• 52:03
Speaker 4: always I appreciate you being here. Hopefully we'll talk to
• 52:04
Speaker 4: you next week hopefully, so as we get ready for it.
• 52:07
Speaker 4: Don't want to get ahead of ourselves, so we got
• 52:09
Speaker 4: to get through this series first. Joe Garrett from the
