Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Drop it drop it big 98.7 well.
- 0:05Speaker 2: If you didn't know today is national coffee day there
- 0:10Speaker 2: is a chance you woke up this morning you went
- 0:13Speaker 2: to your kitchen you turned on that kitchen radio to
- 0:15Speaker 2: find out what the big 98.7 morning show was you
- 0:18Speaker 2: went to your cupboard you grabbed that mug that said
- 0:21Speaker 2: No talkie before coffee.
- 0:24Speaker 3: And here we are with you this morning.
- 0:27Speaker 2: I've learned a lot about coffee this morning through independent research.
- 0:31Speaker 4: Oh, I love your independent research.
- 0:33Speaker 1: What kind of things did you learn over there, Gabe?
- 0:36Speaker 2: I have learned, you know, coffee is kind of like
- 0:38Speaker 2: a cell phone. No matter what it costs. Per month,
- 0:42Speaker 2: we're just going to keep using it. At no point
- 0:45Speaker 2: am I giving up my cell phone.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Never giving up my coffee either. The lifeline.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Yeah, coffee from 2025 to 2026 jumped up 7%, which
- 0:55Speaker 2: I don't think is, like, terrible.
- 0:57Speaker 1: No, that's awful.
- 0:58Speaker 3: But at one point, I want to hear a number
- 1:01Speaker 3: go down. Right?
- 1:02Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Keep dreaming, Gabe.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and a daily coffee habit, excuse me, runs you crazy. $ 1, 300
- 1:12Speaker 2: a year. So if you are stopping to grab some
- 1:15Speaker 2: coffee every single day for 365 days or whatever.
- 1:18Speaker 3: $ 1, 300? Yeah, so it's not like god-awful.
- 1:23Speaker 5: Why did you wake up and choose violence today?
- 1:26Speaker 3: Did you not want to know that number?
- 1:28Speaker 6: No.
- 1:28Speaker 5: I don't need any paper trail of how much I'd
- 1:31Speaker 5: be spending on coffee. Yeah.
- 1:33Speaker 3: You're a coffee drinker, right, Megan?
- 1:35Speaker 1: I do.
- 1:35Speaker 7: I love my coffee. It took me a while. I
- 1:38Speaker 7: was a late bloomer, as we would say, when it
- 1:40Speaker 7: came to the coffee. I even got through college without it.
- 1:44Speaker 6: What?
- 1:44Speaker 3: Oh, wow. Yeah.
- 1:45Speaker 7: It wasn't until I started doing mornings in radio that
- 1:49Speaker 7: I was like, I need something.
- 1:51Speaker 1: And coffee's the thing.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I used to be a coffee drinker. Now it's...
- 1:56Speaker 3: I just.
- 1:56Speaker 2: suck down energy drinks like they're good for me, which
- 1:59Speaker 2: obviously are not.
- 2:00Speaker 8: They aren't?
- 2:01Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, wait. That's right.
- 2:03Speaker 3: You don't drink coffee.
- 2:05Speaker 2: I will have coffee on Saturday and or Sunday mornings
- 2:08Speaker 2: when my wife makes them because she makes the best
- 2:11Speaker 2: ones at the house.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Okay, does she make coffee pot? Does she make French press?
- 2:15Speaker 3: The drip?
- 2:15Speaker 1: What are we talking here?
- 2:16Speaker 4: Yeah, cups. What are we doing? Yeah, right?
- 2:18Speaker 3: She just makes it.
- 2:19Speaker 8: Creamer?
- 2:19Speaker 3: Makes it with love, I think. I have no idea
- 2:22Speaker 3: what's in it.
- 2:22Speaker 4: You're like, she makes it, I drink it, whatever.
- 2:24Speaker 9: Yeah, right.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Now, I did also find out, you know, where are
- 2:27Speaker 2: people drinking their coffee the most here in, like, the
- 2:30Speaker 2: FM area or just North Dakota and Minnesota area? in general,
- 2:34Speaker 2: and it turns out, or excuse me, our favorites, excuse me,
- 2:37Speaker 2: it turns out our favorite coffee drinks are lattes or
- 2:41Speaker 2: cappuccinos here on this side of the river. If you're
- 2:45Speaker 2: on the Minnesota side, it's lattes, of course, and espressos.
- 2:49Speaker 2: So that is the big difference between the two states
- 2:52Speaker 2: is the espresso versus cappuccino. And I don't see mocha
- 2:57Speaker 2: in there, and that's the one I get all the time.
- 2:59Speaker 4: Because you're such a boy. Isn't mocha chocolate?
- 3:02Speaker 1: Pretty much.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Yes, 100%.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Is there cold brew on that list? Just asking for
- 3:07Speaker 1: a friend.
- 3:08Speaker 3: I do not see cold brew because that is what
- 3:10Speaker 3: I would get all the time. I love cold brew.
- 3:11Speaker 3: It's just an iced mocha. That's my go-to. And then finally,
- 3:15Speaker 3: I do have where?
- 3:16Speaker 1: Time out. Iced coffee and cold brew are two different things.
- 3:20Speaker 4: That is correct.
- 3:21Speaker 3: What's the difference?
- 3:22Speaker 1: Cold brew is actually brewed cold.
- 3:24Speaker 7: And iced coffee is you take hot coffee and you
- 3:27Speaker 7: pour it over ice.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Of course that's the one that you have, Gabe. You
- 3:33Speaker 4: could have given.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Me 50 years and I'd have never learned the difference there.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I learned something new today. All right.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Finally, Starbucks leads the coffee chains where people are buying
- 3:43Speaker 2: their most coffee. Do you know where I get it
- 3:44Speaker 2: the most, though, in the FM area is Ziggy's. over
- 3:49Speaker 2: in like South Fargo. It's like on 52nd.
- 3:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Like 45th and 52nd.
- 3:54Speaker 5: Oh, I always see that place. And I always think
- 3:57Speaker 5: I want to stop and go in and then I
- 3:58Speaker 5: never do it. But now both of you have given
- 4:00Speaker 5: it the seal of approval.
- 4:01Speaker 3: You should a big shout out to Ziggy's. They always have.
- 4:04Speaker 2: It's like, I don't know if it's someone's son or
- 4:06Speaker 2: nephew or whatever, but the cutest kid in there giving
- 4:09Speaker 2: us dog treats for Winona in the back.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Yeah. So big shout out to Ziggy's.
- 4:13Speaker 7: And they have like a big menu of dirty sodas
- 4:16Speaker 7: over there too.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Like, Wait, what?
- 4:19Speaker 4: I can get coffee and dirty soda in the same place?
- 4:23Speaker 6: Yes, 100%.
- 4:23Speaker 5: I'm going to Ziggy's after work today.
- 4:27Speaker 7: I think we need to do this for education purposes
- 4:31Speaker 7: for the radio.
- 4:32Speaker 1: We should all go make a little field trip there today.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I like to call it independent research. Do you have
- 4:38Speaker 2: your favorite coffee shop? I feel like everyone does. A
- 4:41Speaker 2: coffee shop is kind of like your hairstylist. You just,
- 4:45Speaker 2: you feel like you're cheating on them. If you go
- 4:47Speaker 2: somewhere else, what is your go-to your favorite? Let us
- 4:50Speaker 2: know this morning at 7 0 1 2 8 0
- 4:53Speaker 2: 1 9 8 7.
- 4:53Speaker 3: There's a chance.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Someone's already housed their two cups of coffee for national
- 4:57Speaker 2: coffee day today.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Good for you. That's right. We are going to celebrate
- 5:00Speaker 3: here on big 98.7.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Big 98.7.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Celebrating life's little victories.
- 5:09Speaker 9: Every morning we practice gratitude on Big 98.7.
- 5:11Speaker 3: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 5:14Speaker 3: plastic jar.
- 5:15Speaker 9: Bust it out whenever someone's acting hard. Share your little
- 5:18Speaker 9: victories with us at 701-280-1987. Kids, I also needed a
- 5:21Speaker 9: win that day.
- 5:26Speaker 2: All right, Megan, I'll let you kick it off. Do
- 5:27Speaker 2: you have a little victory for us here today?
- 5:29Speaker 7: I 100% do because I actually wore it today. I
- 5:32Speaker 7: found my strawberry shortcake sweatshirt that I had been looking
- 5:35Speaker 7: for for a little while, so I'm sporting it for
- 5:37Speaker 7: you guys today.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Check it out. All right.
- 5:40Speaker 4: We loving off the shoulder, girl.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 5:43Speaker 2: When you can find something, an article of clothing that's
- 5:45Speaker 2: been lost and be able to rock it again, it
- 5:49Speaker 2: is wonderful. I've been looking for this gray t-shirt that
- 5:51Speaker 2: has like, you know, design on the breast pocket.
- 5:54Speaker 8: Okay.
- 5:54Speaker 3: For like 12 years.
- 5:57Speaker 1: It might be gone now.
- 5:59Speaker 3: I know.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Since Corey and I have been together, I've been looking
- 6:01Speaker 2: for this shirt. So if anyone can find it for me,
- 6:03Speaker 2: that'd be great.
- 6:04Speaker 4: She threw it away probably.
- 6:05Speaker 7: I know.
- 6:06Speaker 4: She hated it.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 6:09Speaker 3: 100% hated it. Yeah. Angie, do you have a little
- 6:11Speaker 3: victory today?
- 6:12Speaker 1: I do.
- 6:13Speaker 5: It's actually my man Mikey's little victory because when we
- 6:16Speaker 5: got up for coffee this morning, he said, can I
- 6:19Speaker 5: share my little victory with you?
- 6:20Speaker 4: And he was so excited.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Okay.
- 6:22Speaker 5: And I loved it so much that he can have
- 6:24Speaker 5: the little victory today. So he's a teacher. And he
- 6:28Speaker 5: said that yesterday there was a kid who was absent,
- 6:31Speaker 5: a very bright kid who was absent.
- 6:33Speaker 4: And his mom called. To let him know, oh, he's
- 6:37Speaker 4: not going to.
- 6:37Speaker 5: Be at school today, but he's really worried that he's
- 6:40Speaker 5: going to miss the science lesson. And Mikey was like,
- 6:44Speaker 5: don't worry, I didn't come prepared with the stuff for
- 6:47Speaker 5: the science lesson, so he's not going.
- 6:48Speaker 1: To miss it. I mean, that's fair.
- 6:52Speaker 5: So the kid will be back in school today and
- 6:55Speaker 5: will get to enjoy science. Mikey's just very excited because
- 6:59Speaker 5: he's a science nerd, and it made him feel really
- 7:02Speaker 5: great that there's a kid who actually cares.
- 7:05Speaker 3: I love that.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Another little science nerd.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Was into science, yeah.
- 7:09Speaker 2: My Little Victory is very funny.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Nobody on Earth... can really relate.
- 7:13Speaker 2: To this, so I do apologize for that.
- 7:15Speaker 4: So we're here to hype you, my guy.
- 7:16Speaker 3: That's right.
- 7:17Speaker 1: High five.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Since we added Megan to hanging out with us here
- 7:20Speaker 2: in the big 98.7 Morning Show, if you don't know this,
- 7:23Speaker 2: last week Angie was sick for a chunk of time.
- 7:27Speaker 2: And Megan jumped in for a day because I.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Had been lonely.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Very lonely.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Basically.
- 7:33Speaker 2: And so we just decided, well, Megan, we're just going
- 7:35Speaker 2: to keep you here.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Why not?
- 7:36Speaker 1: I love it. Thanks, guys, for making me feel loved.
- 7:38Speaker 4: We love having you.
- 7:39Speaker 2: My little victory is that whilst we do the show,
- 7:42Speaker 2: there is a board that I need to push some
- 7:45Speaker 2: buttons on to hope it all runs smooth.
- 7:47Speaker 3: You know, some days I'm better than others.
- 7:49Speaker 2: But there was since Megan joined in, there was a
- 7:53Speaker 2: button to turn her microphone on.
- 7:55Speaker 3: That was in the worst spot it could be on
- 7:58Speaker 3: this board.
- 7:59Speaker 1: So annoying for you.
- 8:00Speaker 6: Right.
- 8:01Speaker 2: So that spot, that microphone button got moved. Now they're
- 8:05Speaker 2: all three in order, and I can turn them off
- 8:07Speaker 2: and on all with one hand now instead of having
- 8:09Speaker 2: to use two hands.
- 8:10Speaker 3: That is my little victory.
- 8:12Speaker 1: That is a great victory.
- 8:13Speaker 2: That no one on earth will care about at all.
- 8:16Speaker 4: I think they will care. They just don't realize that
- 8:19Speaker 4: they care.
- 8:19Speaker 5: Because when the microphone is not on, you can't hear us.
- 8:23Speaker 4: So there you go.
- 8:24Speaker 7: And everyone can relate. If your job can somehow become easier.
- 8:28Speaker 3: That's great. That's totally true.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Megan, you shared with us before we started talking this
- 8:35Speaker 2: morning about a mystery wedding invitation.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Okay, so my mom, we call her Mama Z.
- 8:42Speaker 7: Mama Z calls last night asking me about this wedding
- 8:46Speaker 7: invite that her and my father received in the mail.
- 8:49Speaker 1: And it's addressed to them, not me. I'm like, okay.
- 8:53Speaker 4: You're like, great, I want to go to a wedding.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I know, right? Is there free drinks? I'm just wondering.
- 8:59Speaker 1: And so.
- 9:00Speaker 7: I ask the name. I'm not going to give the
- 9:02Speaker 7: name right now. So mom tells me the name. She's like,
- 9:04Speaker 7: we don't know who these people are.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Do you?
- 9:06Speaker 7: I'm like, I don't know who these people are. I go,
- 9:08Speaker 7: what do they look like? I need pictures now, right?
- 9:10Speaker 7: Mom's like, well, you can't really see their face. They're
- 9:15Speaker 7: kissing in the picture. I go, well, but I can
- 9:17Speaker 7: still kind of see them. Can you send this to me?
- 9:18Speaker 7: So then my mom continues to just describe the invite,
- 9:24Speaker 7: but they're kissing.
- 9:25Speaker 1: I got it. Well, she's this color. I'm like, no, mom,
- 9:28Speaker 1: send me. A picture, please.
- 9:31Speaker 7: And she finally sent me the invite. And so, of course,
- 9:35Speaker 7: I'm looking up on Facebook. Mom has Facebook. Doesn't know
- 9:38Speaker 7: how to use it. Okay.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Fair enough.
- 9:40Speaker 7: Dad has a flip phone. That's how, like, technological he's
- 9:45Speaker 7: not going to.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Be doing at all.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I didn't know I was going to wake up today
- 9:47Speaker 2: and have a new hero.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Papa Z.
- 9:51Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 9:52Speaker 4: Right, right.
- 9:53Speaker 1: So she finally says, I figured it out in maybe
- 9:57Speaker 1: a minute. Because I was like, Mom. works for the company.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Like that dad, that dad started like, that's how, Oh, Oh, okay.
- 10:06Speaker 7: Knew him by a completely different name, but because they
- 10:08Speaker 7: could not see the face, they did not know who
- 10:11Speaker 7: it was. I'm not even going to say his nickname
- 10:14Speaker 7: on air because it's a company.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Well, because then they'll get uninvited.
- 10:17Speaker 4: You don't even know who we are.
- 10:19Speaker 1: I know. It was classic. But to be fair, my
- 10:22Speaker 1: dad didn't work there all summer, right? So, like, he
- 10:25Speaker 1: wasn't there all summer.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Out of sight, out of mind.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Kind of, like... But figured out, mystery solved. But that
- 10:30Speaker 1: was my favorite. Mom did not stop describing. But they're kissing.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I mean, blonde, brown hair. Okay, well, that helps me not.
- 10:38Speaker 5: That's the most mom thing ever, though. Because you're like,
- 10:41Speaker 5: just send me the picture. I'm giving you the path
- 10:44Speaker 5: of least resistance.
- 10:45Speaker 4: This is so easy. And she's like, no, no. She's
- 10:48Speaker 4: just going to keep describing. I'm going to describe in
- 10:50Speaker 4: full detail.
- 10:51Speaker 2: The fern behind her looks to be about six feet tall,
- 10:54Speaker 2: so she's 5'7.
- 10:55Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Could literally be anybody. Thanks, Mom.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Too bad they didn't just have, like, a neck tattoo
- 11:03Speaker 2: or something.
- 11:05Speaker 1: That would have been great.
- 11:08Speaker 9: In the world of rules and gray areas, one morning
- 11:10Speaker 9: show dares to ask the hard questions.
- 11:13Speaker 3: We both know you're guilty.
- 11:14Speaker 1: He's guilty.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Is it legal?
- 11:16Speaker 2: You're guilty of the worst crime of all.
- 11:19Speaker 9: On Big 98.7.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Is it legal to go through your spouse's phone without asking?
- 11:27Speaker 2: And you might want to put the phone down for
- 11:29Speaker 2: this one because the answer is yes.
- 11:32Speaker 3: It can be illegal.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Marriage, it gets you a shared mortgage and a shared
- 11:36Speaker 2: Netflix password. It does not get you shared DMs.
- 11:40Speaker 4: Really?
- 11:41Speaker 1: Even if you're both on the same phone plan?
- 11:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:44Speaker 2: So logging into a locked phone, email or social media
- 11:49Speaker 2: without permission can break computer crime laws. And then if
- 11:52Speaker 2: you take it even a step further and install like
- 11:56Speaker 2: a tracking app, that can actually be a felony. And
- 11:59Speaker 2: here is the twist. If you find something by snooping.
- 12:03Speaker 2: A judge might not even let you use that in
- 12:06Speaker 2: a divorce case.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Seriously?
- 12:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:08Speaker 2: So if you do the crime, you saw the messages,
- 12:11Speaker 2: you can't use them.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Probably.
- 12:14Speaker 5: Oh, man, we just got to trick him into letting
- 12:17Speaker 5: us see it.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I was just going to say, well, we just get
- 12:20Speaker 1: mad enough. Be like, open your phone. I want to
- 12:21Speaker 1: see and show me.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Show me.
- 12:23Speaker 9: Right.
- 12:24Speaker 4: That would make me show you. You are very stern
- 12:26Speaker 4: right there, Megan.
- 12:28Speaker 1: So disappointed in you.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Here is the loophole.
- 12:30Speaker 2: If your spouse willingly hands over their passcode, you're in
- 12:34Speaker 2: the clear. And if a message pops up on a
- 12:37Speaker 2: shared family tablet, that's just life happening.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Okay.
- 12:40Speaker 2: That's way different than breaking in. So if you're feeling suspicious,
- 12:45Speaker 2: try asking questions, you know, that's very adult of you or,
- 12:48Speaker 2: you know, just don't wait or just don't wait and
- 12:51Speaker 2: get a shared tablet type of thing.
- 12:53Speaker 1: I was just going to say, get the shared tablet.
- 12:55Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 12:56Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 12:56Speaker 5: You got to keep tabs somehow. I mean, I would
- 12:59Speaker 5: never do that. See how they take that.
- 13:02Speaker 7: You know, cares we're only texting each other let's get
- 13:05Speaker 7: a shared one yeah see take.
- 13:06Speaker 2: It a step further don't don't lie to me have
- 13:09Speaker 2: you two gone through a phone i have one time
- 13:11Speaker 2: and thank god i was right.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Not once no i have once oh you once and.
- 13:16Speaker 2: I was right i was in college and i found
- 13:18Speaker 2: out this girl i was dating at the time cheated
- 13:20Speaker 2: on me and i found it by snooping hand up
- 13:23Speaker 2: i broke the law but i was right.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Well, I mean, I'm glad because now you're not with her.
- 13:30Speaker 3: That's right.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Now I'm with my lovely wife whose phone is probably
- 13:33Speaker 2: the most boring thing on earth.
- 13:35Speaker 7: I have personally done it twice, and the only reason
- 13:39Speaker 7: is because they both hid it.
- 13:40Speaker 1: The one, he hid it in the back of the drawer.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I was grabbing something out of the junk drawer.
- 13:44Speaker 7: I'm like, why is his phone back here?
- 13:46Speaker 1: And there was missed text messages and phone calls.
- 13:48Speaker 6: I'm like.
- 13:49Speaker 1: What's this?
- 13:50Speaker 3: Yep.
- 13:51Speaker 7: And I was right there. And the second time also
- 13:54Speaker 7: hid it in the cupboard in between the towels. I'm like,
- 13:57Speaker 7: why is this hidden?
- 14:00Speaker 5: Not that I want people to get away with it,
- 14:03Speaker 5: but like, you gotta be smarter than that.
- 14:06Speaker 2: The junk drawer is the most used drawer in a house.
- 14:10Speaker 3: I feel like.
- 14:10Speaker 4: And it's just obvious, obvious. What you gotta do is
- 14:14Speaker 4: have your phone in plain sight and be like, No,
- 14:17Speaker 4: go ahead. Go look through it if you want. Look
- 14:19Speaker 4: through it.
- 14:19Speaker 5: And then they probably won't call your bluff. I've never
- 14:22Speaker 5: been in this situation.
- 14:23Speaker 4: I'm just saying.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Are you lying?
- 14:26Speaker 4: Are you bluffing over there?
- 14:28Speaker 2: Angie's breaking laws left and right, it sounds like.
- 14:33Speaker 8: Big 98.7.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Nurse and author Jen Hamilton is teaming up with a
- 14:44Speaker 2: North Carolina senator to change the state's divorce law. I
- 14:48Speaker 2: didn't know this was a thing across the country, that
- 14:51Speaker 2: if you wanted to get a divorce, there are some
- 14:54Speaker 2: states that legally make you stay separated for a year
- 14:58Speaker 2: first you don't just get to like sign some papers
- 15:00Speaker 2: and off you both go she's trying to get this
- 15:03Speaker 2: bill to cut to six months which also sounds a
- 15:05Speaker 2: bit ridiculous uh she said she chose to share her
- 15:08Speaker 2: story instead of hiding it so i kind of wanted
- 15:11Speaker 2: to hear your story today did you have a breakup
- 15:14Speaker 2: did you have a divorce and after You just thrived.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Because here in North Dakota, they don't have that. You know,
- 15:21Speaker 2: you just kind of get divorced, whatever you want. You
- 15:23Speaker 2: can be divorced and live in the same house here
- 15:25Speaker 2: in North Dakota and or Minnesota.
- 15:27Speaker 1: You make it sound so simple when it comes to
- 15:29Speaker 1: a divorce.
- 15:30Speaker 3: That's right.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Which is funny because I will have been married for
- 15:32Speaker 2: three years tomorrow. Hopefully we make it that far. But 701-280-1987.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Did you have a breakup, a divorce? And after you realize,
- 15:42Speaker 2: you know what? That was a good choice. I am thriving.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I am jiving. And whatever rhymes with that for the
- 15:47Speaker 2: next one.
- 15:48Speaker 4: I'm staying alive, Vin.
- 15:50Speaker 3: That's right.
- 15:50Speaker 1: That's almost, yes.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Angie, do you have a breakup, a divorce where you
- 15:55Speaker 2: thought you thrived after? I know divorce parties have become
- 15:58Speaker 2: kind of a popular thing.
- 15:59Speaker 7: Oh, I know.
- 16:00Speaker 5: I don't think I would ever have a divorce party.
- 16:02Speaker 5: So me and my ex, we are not together. And
- 16:06Speaker 5: I guess legally still married. But we've been separated for, gosh,
- 16:11Speaker 5: over three years now. So, like, we've been done. But
- 16:15Speaker 5: the process of getting a divorce.
- 16:18Speaker 4: That's a lot of paperwork.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:20Speaker 4: I'm working on it. It's happening.
- 16:21Speaker 5: But I think for both of us, even though I
- 16:24Speaker 5: was the one that initiated.
- 16:27Speaker 4: The divorce.
- 16:28Speaker 5: He wanted it too. He just didn't want to be
- 16:30Speaker 5: the one to say it.
- 16:31Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 16:32Speaker 6: And I think.
- 16:32Speaker 1: You guys never want to say it.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Make us do it. Yeah.
- 16:36Speaker 2: I bet that's pretty common actually.
- 16:37Speaker 3: You're just like waiting.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Yes.
- 16:40Speaker 5: And so I finally did it. But I think we
- 16:42Speaker 5: both had a glow up after that. Because we stopped pretending.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:48Speaker 5: And we got to be like. This sounds so corny.
- 16:51Speaker 5: But we got to be our authentic selves.
- 16:54Speaker 4: You know? And then that just makes you.
- 16:57Speaker 5: I think, you know, barring having the thousand dollars to
- 17:01Speaker 5: the wellness district.
- 17:03Speaker 4: Leaving a bad situation.
- 17:05Speaker 1: I think, is a glow up.
- 17:07Speaker 5: And so my family members, my friends are all like,
- 17:10Speaker 5: you just look happier and it makes you look prettier.
- 17:15Speaker 5: And in the end, my goal in life is to
- 17:17Speaker 5: always be as pretty as I possibly can.
- 17:19Speaker 2: There's probably like a tenseness in your shoulders that leaves,
- 17:23Speaker 2: you know, you probably stand up a little straighter.
- 17:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:25Speaker 4: And I don't even think it's just like divorcing, ending
- 17:28Speaker 4: a marriage.
- 17:28Speaker 5: It's like bad relationships once you're out of that.
- 17:31Speaker 4: Cause Megan, you had a few. I didn't want to
- 17:35Speaker 4: say that.
- 17:36Speaker 3: No, no.
- 17:36Speaker 7: I will be the first to say it because I
- 17:38Speaker 7: know I've dated a lot and whatever. And it's amazing,
- 17:41Speaker 7: especially as you get older, the cortisol levels. I'm going
- 17:44Speaker 7: to get like all scientific here.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Your stress levels. And you're like, why am I not
- 17:49Speaker 1: losing weight? Like I used to.
- 17:50Speaker 7: And all of a sudden, like you break up and boom,
- 17:52Speaker 7: the stress level's gone. And all of a sudden you
- 17:54Speaker 7: can lose the weight and you... Girls, maybe I'm the
- 17:58Speaker 7: only one, but I don't think so. You're like, I
- 18:00Speaker 7: need a whole change. I'd change my haircut.
- 18:02Speaker 1: You know, I get all that. Like, maybe I'm going
- 18:04Speaker 1: to try on some cuter outfits.
- 18:05Speaker 7: I'm going to look hot now because when I see him,
- 18:08Speaker 7: I don't care if I'm just out heading to the gym.
- 18:10Speaker 7: I am going to look hot and he is going
- 18:12Speaker 7: to miss me.
- 18:13Speaker 1: What he had.
- 18:14Speaker 5: Yes, the revenge body is such a thing. Khloe Kardashian
- 18:17Speaker 5: had a whole show called Revenge Body.
- 18:19Speaker 3: And I think we have Tanya on the phone. Tanya,
- 18:22Speaker 3: what do you got?
- 18:23Speaker 6: At first, I thought my life was over. And then
- 18:25Speaker 6: I realized I could make plans without having to check
- 18:28Speaker 6: with anybody. I just started traveling, going out with friends,
- 18:31Speaker 6: and basically remembering who I was before I became a
- 18:35Speaker 6: part of a couple. And honestly, I got happier the
- 18:39Speaker 6: longer I was on my own.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, that does happen for some people.
- 18:42Speaker 2: They realize there's just a dead weight they've been carrying
- 18:45Speaker 2: around for years, weeks, whatever it is.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Well, probably not weeks.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe. You figure it out real fast.
- 18:53Speaker 2: I don't know if I, you know, for guys, it's
- 18:55Speaker 2: the other way. When a guy goes through a breakup,
- 18:57Speaker 2: you'll be like, oh, see you in the gym. Because
- 18:59Speaker 2: that's just what we do. We just go there and.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Lift a bunch.
- 19:01Speaker 4: God forbid you go to therapy.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Yeah, lift a bunch of heavy things because we're so mad.
- 19:05Speaker 8: 701-280-1987.
- 19:05Speaker 1: How did you thrive after a breakup, a divorce?
- 19:06Speaker 3: Let us know this morning here on Big 98.7.
- 19:25Speaker 5: Hallmark Channel has kicked off its Fall Into Love movie series.
- 19:30Speaker 5: And so I want to know, are these movie titles
- 19:35Speaker 5: that I've compiled, which ones are real and which ones
- 19:40Speaker 5: are fake?
- 19:41Speaker 4: So Gabe, Megan, you're going to go head to head.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Let's go.
- 19:46Speaker 5: The first one, is this a real movie title? or
- 19:50Speaker 5: did i just make it up haunted farm fiance haunted
- 19:56Speaker 5: farm fiance haunted farm fiance i'm gonna go real gabe
- 20:02Speaker 5: If Haunted Farm Fiance is a real movie title, we
- 20:06Speaker 5: needed to go back to the drawing board and find
- 20:09Speaker 5: a different line out of that movie.
- 20:11Speaker 3: I'm going completely fake.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Okay, Gabe, you've got it. That one's fake.
- 20:16Speaker 3: I made that up.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Now, your next one. Harvesting Romance.
- 20:22Speaker 5: Oh. Is Harvesting Romance real or fake, Gabe?
- 20:28Speaker 3: That sounds real to me.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Okay. Okay. I honestly think it sounds real as well.
- 20:32Speaker 3: You can go with real. Yeah, we can both get
- 20:34Speaker 3: it right, can't we?
- 20:35Speaker 4: Well, you both got it wrong. That's fake.
- 20:38Speaker 7: That sounds like I'm like the Harvest Moon is going
- 20:40Speaker 7: to come out in there.
- 20:41Speaker 2: There's the Harvest Fling coming up in a couple weeks.
- 20:45Speaker 5: All right, here's the next one. Haunted Harmony Mysteries. Prelude
- 20:51Speaker 5: to a wedding. Is that real or is that fake?
- 20:55Speaker 5: Haunted Harmony Mysteries, Prelude to a Wedding.
- 20:58Speaker 1: That better be fake.
- 21:00Speaker 3: That better be fake.
- 21:01Speaker 4: You're going with fake, Megan?
- 21:03Speaker 3: I'll go with fake.
- 21:03Speaker 1: It's so long, I feel like it needs to be real.
- 21:07Speaker 4: You are correct, Megan.
- 21:08Speaker 5: That is a very real movie that Hallmark is going
- 21:11Speaker 5: to play for Fall Into Love.
- 21:14Speaker 2: That sounded like the most Angie made-up movie title I've
- 21:17Speaker 2: ever heard.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Okay, here's your next one. Pumpkin Regatta Romance.
- 21:23Speaker 5: Is pumpkin regatta romance real or fake?
- 21:27Speaker 2: Can someone explain to me what regatta means before? This
- 21:31Speaker 2: sounds like a spicy, like, smut book.
- 21:33Speaker 1: See, I'm like, it sounds like spaghetti.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:37Speaker 4: Like some type of pasta. Like rigatoni.
- 21:40Speaker 3: I will go with, I'll go with fake.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I'm actually, I'm going to go with real.
- 21:45Speaker 4: And Megan's got it. That's real.
- 21:47Speaker 5: The pumpkin regatta romance. It's something about, like, sailing boats.
- 21:52Speaker 5: Inside pumpkins on the water.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Wait, what?
- 21:55Speaker 4: Yeah, but you have to look it up. This one
- 21:57Speaker 4: was so ridiculous.
- 21:57Speaker 1: James and the Giant Peach, but now romance?
- 22:00Speaker 4: Yes, but now gourds.
- 22:02Speaker 3: This is why I don't watch the Hallmark show.
- 22:05Speaker 5: All right, a couple more. The Spirit of Halloween. Is
- 22:09Speaker 5: that a real movie title or a fake movie title?
- 22:13Speaker 7: I'm going to go with fake on this one, even
- 22:15Speaker 7: though it sounds like it could totally be real.
- 22:17Speaker 1: But I also feel like that's an Angie movie.
- 22:19Speaker 7: I know.
- 22:19Speaker 2: I feel like all of the other ones are so
- 22:22Speaker 2: outlandish that Angie was like, I need I'm playing the woman,
- 22:25Speaker 2: not the movie.
- 22:25Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 22:27Speaker 2: I feel like Angie tried to sneak in something that
- 22:29Speaker 2: sounds somewhat real here.
- 22:31Speaker 3: So I'm going to go with Megan and say fake
- 22:33Speaker 3: as well.
- 22:34Speaker 4: You're both wrong. Oh, my goodness. The spirit of Halloween
- 22:37Speaker 4: is real. All right, here's the final one.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Here's the spirit of Christmas, right?
- 22:42Speaker 4: Your final one.
- 22:43Speaker 5: Is this a real or fake movie title that's part
- 22:46Speaker 5: of Hallmark Channel's Fall Into Love movie series? Festival of Leaves,
- 22:52Speaker 5: An Autumn Proposal.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Oh, that's totally real.
- 22:56Speaker 5: Oh.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to go with real.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Go with real?
- 22:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:01Speaker 3: How many do you have right?
- 23:02Speaker 6: Two.
- 23:02Speaker 8: Two?
- 23:03Speaker 2: Two?
- 23:03Speaker 1: I think.
- 23:04Speaker 2: I think I only have one right. So I'm going
- 23:05Speaker 2: to go with the opposite just so there is a
- 23:07Speaker 2: clear winner. I will say fake. Well, I guess I
- 23:10Speaker 2: could tie, I guess. I will go with fake.
- 23:12Speaker 4: Okay. And Gabe, you've got it. So you both are tied.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Oh, do you have a tiebreaker?
- 23:18Speaker 4: No, I don't. I have a tiebreaker.
- 23:21Speaker 1: We're both winning.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Yeah, we will tomorrow at 841. We'll have a tiebreaker
- 23:24Speaker 3: on Big 98.7. Drop it, drop it. Big 98.7. I
- 23:26Speaker 3: need some gold.
- 23:32Speaker 9: Starting off the day with something good. This is Gabe's
- 23:36Speaker 9: Good News on Big 98.7.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Detroit Lakes just unveiled its newest art on a stick
- 23:43Speaker 2: project yesterday, and it's exactly as fun as it sounds.
- 23:46Speaker 2: There are going to be 24 pieces of local art,
- 23:49Speaker 2: each shaped. like an ice cream bar spread across four
- 23:52Speaker 2: parks around town. And the idea comes from Minnesota's love
- 23:56Speaker 2: of all things on a stick. When you're at the
- 23:58Speaker 2: Minnesota State Fair, you've been able to have alligator on
- 24:01Speaker 2: a stick. You've been able to have everything you could
- 24:03Speaker 2: imagine on a stick. And what's really cool is it
- 24:06Speaker 2: features art from every age and ability. Claire Danner with
- 24:10Speaker 2: the Detroit Lakes Arts and Culture Commission, she says the mix,
- 24:14Speaker 2: it ranges from whimsical to professional, and she's hoping it
- 24:17Speaker 2: does one thing right.
- 24:18Speaker 3: For the people who see it, here she is.
- 24:20Speaker 8: A lot of these are very whimsical and childlike artwork
- 24:26Speaker 8: and the professional art as well. Very amazing that we
- 24:30Speaker 8: had submitted. So I hope it brings a smile to
- 24:32Speaker 8: somebody's face.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Is that not exactly what we do with Gabe's Good
- 24:35Speaker 2: News of the Day at 8.50 every day is we're
- 24:37Speaker 2: just trying to bring a smile to someone's face. The art,
- 24:41Speaker 2: it stays up through the end of summer of 2027
- 24:43Speaker 2: and organizers will put out a call for new artists
- 24:46Speaker 2: in the spring.
- 24:47Speaker 3: So if you wanted to be a part of this,
- 24:48Speaker 3: get ready to go. in the uh spring of next
- 24:51Speaker 3: year and you.
- 24:52Speaker 7: Know what this is gonna do when i see it
- 24:53Speaker 7: because it's gonna be great i'm gonna get hungry watching
- 24:55Speaker 7: it because the food on the stick that's all i'm
- 24:57Speaker 7: gonna be like i want some of that and i
- 24:59Speaker 7: want some of that that's.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Right local ice cream shops just an ultra surplus coming
- 25:04Speaker 2: up in the next year this would be really cool
- 25:06Speaker 2: i think for liam to do.
- 25:07Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, yes. My nine-year-old is an incredible artist.
- 25:11Speaker 5: So I'm going to tell him all about it.
- 25:13Speaker 4: You better get to working on some artwork.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Be ready to go next spring. And you know my
- 25:18Speaker 2: favorite quote, if you don't hear it is, the world
- 25:20Speaker 2: is full of nice people. If you can't find one,
- 25:21Speaker 2: you got to be one. And never forget, broken crayons,
- 25:24Speaker 2: they still color.
