- 0:57SPEAKER_01: For 11 generations, the Neely family has been making whiskey.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Long before there was a distillery in Sparta, Kentucky, there were family recipes, copper stills, moonshine runs, and a tradition passed from one generation to the next.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: Today, that history lives on at Neely Family Distillery.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Here, whiskey is made with sweet mashed fermentation, open-top cypress fermenters, and copper pot stills.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: But history here doesn't just sit behind glass.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: An original French absinthe still built in the 1890s is still producing spirits today.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: And now a brand new three-chamber column still begins another chapter.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: Old World Tradition.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: Eleven generations later, the Neely family is still doing what they've always done.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: Making whiskey.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: Neely Family Distillery.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: For more information, visit Neely Family Distillery.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Let's get this.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: Let's see, I know how to do this right now.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Alright, tonight we are diving into three generations of bourbon making history.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Booker No, Fred No, and Freddie No come together in one bottle.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Look, little book the Infinite 3.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: We've got 23-year-old bourbon, an infinity blend, infinite an infinity blend, and a$200 price tag.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: But it the question is tonight, is this bourbon truly worth 200 bucks?
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Tonight we're gonna find out.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: So also remember, it's it's just as far as the the podcast goes, I just want to throw out that probably Tuesday night, I'm thinking Tuesday night, I might not be on because that night is the World Series.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: The Milwaukee Brewers are in the World Series.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Congratulations to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, they are in it also, but it's not often that your team, it's been 44 years since the Brewers got in the World Series.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: I don't want to watch it taped, I want to watch it live.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: They just seem to be a special team.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: So maybe I think Thursday night is a skip.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: So we'll be back Thursday night, but Tuesday night.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: But I will be back.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: We're gonna be back this Thursday, and then the following a week from now.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: I have to make up my mind whether or not we're gonna come back on Tuesday.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: I'm not exactly sure.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: But remember, www.scotchyburbonboys.com.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: For all things scotchy bourbon boys, we've got Glenn Cairns, just like this one here.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: I'm using tonight.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: We've got t-shirts and I don't it's just like, and we also are working on bourbon balls usually right after Halloween, the first week of November is when we start making those bourbon balls.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: And well, it looks like I locked up on on you on Facebook again a little bit, but hopefully it comes back.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: The internet's been crappy tonight, folks.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: I I don't know what to tell you.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: I've been trying to fix it.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: I'm turning things off and turning them on, but we're just, you know, for whatever reason, all day TNT's been giving me one bar, and it's just been it's just how it goes sometimes.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: But hopefully the audio's good and everything, and welcome to the podcast.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: Remember, we're on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and X, along with Apple, iHeart, and Spotify.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: Whether you watch us or listen to us, make sure you give us good feedback.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: I was checking it out, and thank you, Kirk, for the great five-star review.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: Everybody that has given us five-star reviews on Apple, that's great.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: 26 reviews.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: We're we're getting our podcast up.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: It's just funny.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: It's we start to get our rating scale up, and then somehow somebody comes in and leaves a terrible review.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry for everybody, but it you know, if you don't like the show, I don't know how I offend you.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: Please don't leave a bad, bad review.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: It's just kind of like, you know, we're we did get it, we got it at, I believe it's 4.2 out of 5.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: But you know, I'd like to think that the people around here like us.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: So please, if you haven't left a review, please, on Apple, please do.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: It's very helpful for us.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: We've this the YouTube and Facebook have just been taking off.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: The lives have been doing fantastic.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: I want to say hello to everybody out there, the YouTube and Facebook.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: I appreciate I monitor comments on both, uh, but on YouTube, you can guarantee getting your comment on.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: That works with super chats and everything like that.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: I want to say tonight is gonna be the reason why I picked the little book infinite, the infinite three, is because I got a chance to taste it.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: And I am gonna tell you that it freaking is.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: I mean, I just I wanted to drink some good bourbon on the podcast, and I'm I'm gonna say that when we when I when I break this one down, when we do the barrel bottle breakdown, I can't wait to do that because it is seriously gonna be pretty cool tonight.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: I just find that I I words can't explain, but tonight we're just gonna go over and talk about this because this presentation, I got one here too.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: Well, before I get into that, I want to cover this weekend.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: This weekend we went to Middle West Spirits.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: So if you haven't listened or watched that live, go back and watch it.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: Phenomenal, phenomenal.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: Steve Rick.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, Frederick.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: Steve Frederick is, you know, the on-premise specialist there that we're dealing with.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: Early on, we were dealing with Ryan, but he's so busy.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: But now that Steve has taken over, he's just done such a fantastic job.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: We got to taste this fantastic bottle right right on, and I think this review, but this is this is their finishing series, and they did a double cask collection, and this is the Vino de Naharana cask finished whiskey five years in a in another in a in that kind of a barrel, and it is phenomenal.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: The the Parker's Heritage had they finished it in a in a cask that had an orange flavor, and a lot of people that like bourbon didn't like it.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: But this is like what Middle West Spirits is, it's a balance of whiskey.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: So check out that podcast if you haven't yet, because that's a pretty cool podcast.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: I think that one, you know, as far as everything goes, I just feel that that one definitely, if you didn't watch it live or whatever, it's out there and released.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: The other thing that we did is we went to we went to Black Diamond afterwards, and we were able to go get their first ever with their bourbon, and they they distill it, they do distilling runs at Middle West Spirits, and they put it in barrels and stuck it in their train car.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: And this is not it, it's we chose from four different barrels.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: Everybody there picked four, no barrel number four, and then thieved it from the train car.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: And it was a fantastic experience, Adam Fowler, Fowler, and Brett Adams presented that.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: It was awesome.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: Got this this bottle we thieved, and then this one's signed by Adam.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: It's thank you for signing it, and it's their first ever barrel of their own whiskey.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: So this one is pretty special.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: It the aging in that train car is producing some fantastic whiskey fast.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: I mean, there were four to choose from, and they were all felt like different maturity levels and grain mixtures and barrel mixtures.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: But I can only say that I can't wait till they get, you know, a little bit more age straight across.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: But this barrel was pretty phenomenal.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: This is barrel number one.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: How often do you get a chance to get a uh a brand's first barrel ever produced?
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: Now, the they've been doing source, but this is their whiskey, how they want it produced.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: And the everybody agreed, I mean, it was it was good.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: All right, so that's what we did this weekend.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: Next weekend, I wanted to let everybody know is the Ohio Craft Distillery Festival.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: It's at the Hemrick Farms in Delaware, Ohio.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: And you should check it out because all of the Ohio Craft Distilleries, including Black Diamond, will be there, Middle West Spirits will be there, but Craft Distillery is pretty darn big in Ohio right now, and they are producing.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: We are starting to get some of the distilleries to have age product, and you get to taste everything from Ohio, and it's completely reasonable.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: Plus, there is a pop-up bottle shop, an OHLQ pop-up bottle shop.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: If you taste something, you can purchase the bottle over at the bottle shop.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: So, you know, it's it's a pretty cool festival.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: It's out there at Hemrick Farm in is and it's they're they're a brewery, and they serve, you know, they have beer and then their farm and then their rest and a restaurant.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: So it's kind of cool.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: It's the space is perfect.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: The way the liquor license worked, you're able to do this festival.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: There's not a lot of there's no other place that you can do the festival because of the way that it's set up and their land and how they do things, and they throw all different festivals throughout.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: Hopefully, this year I don't go there and lose my wallet.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: But if you're in the area and you want to meet CT and myself, I'm pretty sure CT is going to be able to swing it.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: But if you want to meet CT and myself, swing by and come say hi to us at the Ohio Craft Distillery Festival.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: Sorry about that, everybody.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: I was like putting all, you know, on YouTube.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: I'm like hiding off in the corner.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: I I pretty much didn't.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: All right, so this bottle is really cool with Little Book.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, uh the the coolness of this is you can see that's whatever.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: You get it in this case.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: Look at that.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: It says Little Book in the black box.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: All the little books come in black, but this is the cool part right here.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: Number three.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: I like the shine, and then you've got the bottle with the number three.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: Little book has this little patch, and it comes with this.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Is where it comes to be fun because I do have this, and I should be able to.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: So what happens is to get it out, you gotta flip up this.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: I believe you gotta.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: Nope, it's it's actually in there in the little plastic insert right there.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: It sticks in there, so you just kind of release it out, make sure it doesn't come flying out.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: Alright, I'm gonna grab it by the butt- there we go.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: And it comes out like that.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: Now, the the label is black, so you got a little thing here, a little note, and you can open that up, and at least this time, in my opinion, and the times before, when you pull out this little card.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: Let's get the little card.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: It's very little type.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: I should have, I should, and I do, I have my glasses within sh grabbing range.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: Let me grab the glasses.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: Gosh, gotta get up a lot today, don't I?
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: But they're just in my bag over here.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: Don't worry, I'll be right there in a second.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they're right there.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: Come on out.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: Ah, only, only, and jeez.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: Maybe my pants can fall down too.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: Technical difficulties tonight because I'm still recording.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: Oh, don't knock the monitor over.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: That would be great.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: Jesus.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: Let's get up into the all right.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: I got my glasses.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: So let's flip over here and read this card.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: Our third edition of the our third edition of the infinite each year.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: Third edition of the infinite.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: Each year we bottle a portion of our infinity infin if each year we bottle a portion of our infinity batch to capture a unique moment in its evolution.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: Then I carefully select new whiskies to introduce shaping the flavor profile for the year to come.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: Edition three, building on the profile of addition two, I blended in three distinct bourbons from across the generations.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: Bourbon from Booker offers notes of oak char and smoke.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: Fred's bourbon adds a creamy mouth fill with hints of caramel, vanilla, and butterscotch.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: And my own bourbon builds complexity with notes of tobacco and dark fruit.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Savor edition three and come back in a year for its next evolution.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: Now, welcome to the infinite.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: Through this series, I'll share a new side of Little Book.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: As always, each edition will tell a story, but this time it's not mine alone.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: This whiskey brings together bourbons distilled by my granddaddy, Booker, my dad, Fred, and me for the first time blending our journeys as whiskey makers into a single liquid.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: It's been three generations in the making.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: So there you go.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: That's pretty cool.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: It's got this little thing, and there you go on that part.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: I don't know if I'm gonna have that in my research, but I'm gonna put this little card, close the I'm gonna pull that closed, put her back around for future, and then take a look at this.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: This says I created this series to share the generations of my family whiskey.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: Making I I have no idea why you're doing that.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: Craft whiskey making oh wow.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: Craft.
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: Okay, so the generations of my family's whiskey making craft.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: Every edition combines whiskies from my granddaddy, poker, and dad.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: Fred and me.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: Year over year, and blend will keep crafting.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: As will our legacy.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: So it's got Fred No, Fred Freddy no, Fred no, and Booker No's signature on this one.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: So I really like this part brand because of the fact that it's it's him, it's it's Freddie doing what he's supposed to be, you know, what like combining everything that's phenomenal about you know phenomenal about Jim Beam.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: So there it is, that's Little Book.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: So let's see.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: Booker No was the sixth generation legendary Jim Bean master distiller, helped pioneer the modern small batch movement, created Booker's Bourbon, known for its uncut, unfiltered presentation.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: His legacy is represented by the 23-year-old Nob Creek component in this.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: Fred No, seventh generation, son of Booker No, continued the Bean family tradition.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: And Booker.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: Sixth general masters and okay, so Booker, I believe, married Jim Bean's granddaughter.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: And so he did Jim Beam did not have a son.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: So when he met when he no, he I he might he Booker married Jim Beam's I'm pretty sure granddaughter daughter.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: Because then they had Booker was his granddaddy.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Jim Beam was in the 30s.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: So he married his daughter Jim Beam's daughter.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: So Jim Beam had a daughter, and Booker married her and became part of the family, and that's how it switched to No from Bean.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: And then Fred No continued the Bean family tradition.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: He helped expand Knob Creek and Booker's brand, represented by the 11-year-old Knob Creek Bourbon that's in here.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: And then eighth generation Freddie No, son of Fred No, creator of Little Book Whiskey Series, introduced the original Little Book in 2017, represented by nine-year-old Baker's Bourbon.
- 21:41SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: And his is represented by the nine-year-old Baker's Bourbon that was in there.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: So he had introduced the little book in 2017 and he has the Baker's bourbon version of it.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: So is there another family with a legacy quite like the nose?
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't think that it's quite like Jim, the Bean Legacy.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: I mean, heaven hell, but they started way later.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: All right, and we have Kirk, long live the Scotchy Bourbon Boys, uncut and unfiltered, just like my preferred poor.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: Keep on rolling, guys.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Kirk, for your super chat.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: So as Freddie know with Little Book established his own identity.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: I think Freddie's established his own identity through Little Book, and he's also established his own identity through his early acceptance of becoming a distiller.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: He wanted to be a distiller and he's been part of the distillery and working in the distilleries.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: I mean, a ton of his high school friends worked at the distillery.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: I mean, Freddy's done such a great job going forward, and that craft distillery, named after the Fred No distillery, named after his dad, is going to be his legacy because he's able to do a lot more stuff at that distillery than you would be able to at the main distillery, which is making Jim Beam.
- 23:24SPEAKER_00: That's its main thing.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: It was making bookers, bakers, you know, Bookers, Bakers, Basil Hayden, and Knob Creek and Jim Beam products, all the Jim Beam products.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: So Freddie's able to do some experimentation at that new.
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: So I really think that he's done well to start taking over.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: The family, you know, he's become the eighth generation master distiller along with his dad.
- 23:51SPEAKER_00: All right, so what is the infinite?
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: All right, the infinite is an evolving bourbon blend introduced in 2024.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: Each year's edition includes a portion of the previous year's release, allowing the blend to carry whiskey from earlier generations and additions forwards.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: So this year's release, the 2026 edition, three components: 23-year-old knob creek bourbon, 11-year-old knob creek bourbon, and nine-year-old baker's bourbon.
- 24:29SPEAKER_00: 30% little book, the infinite edition too.
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: So he makes the addition.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: So the first edition, he releases seven, he puts back 30%.
- 24:41SPEAKER_00: Then going forward, each time he puts back 30% and releases 70%.
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: To keep going year after year as you go along, each year the batch changing and and but also becoming what would you say?
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: Consuming the last year's edition to become the current edition.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: The proof is 118.3, 59.15.15% alcohol by volume.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: It's suggested retail price is$199.99, so$200.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: It was released this year, 2026.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: I was able to pick this up at the distillery.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: It was released at the Bourbon Festival, but we stopped at Jim Beam and Jim Beams.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: If you're looking for hard-to-get Jim Beam releases, the Claremont Distilleries gift shop had everything.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: 18-year knob creek, 21-year knob creek, 15-year knob creek, 12-year-old knob creek, 12-year-old knob creek, cast strength, little book and infinite, all the wiser 2026 release.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: They had for Little Book, and then they had the current Booker.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: No, they didn't have the current Booker's release.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: They had Easy Street.
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: They did not have the next batch, but they had previous batches from 2025.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: I mean, it was crazy Baker's.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: They had Baker's 13-year-old, they had Baker 7, Baker's High Rye.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: I mean, it was, and then their special releases that Freddie releases in the small 375s.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: So we stopped there to pick that up, and that was pretty damn cool, if if anything.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: Looks like I'm frozen.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: It's just always good to be froze.
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: Let's see if I can get a.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: Where's my sound?
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: Let's see if I can get a at least you're getting sound.
- 27:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, people are.
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: No.
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: So comment-wise, it's kind of slowed down.
- 27:19SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 27:20SPEAKER_00: Just make it sure.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: So, and that's one of the things.
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: I don't know what's going on with everything.
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: I tried to do everything, but my internet, folks, I'm sorry for the internet.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: YouTube is not going to have the problems that Facebook is, because Facebook is directly tied to my computer and the Zoom meeting and internet.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: Whereas the Facebook or YouTube is tied to my phone, which is not on the internet.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: That's on purpose.
- 27:50SPEAKER_00: That's great.
- 27:51SPEAKER_00: I wonder why that had to do that.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: Let's get off of that.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: Hold on.
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: It's causing my.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: Oh, great.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: Let's get the stupid.
- 28:07SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: Oh, all right.
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: So let's get back to it.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: So we talked about it.
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: So approximately so we got your release.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: So approximately nine percent of edition three traces back to the original 2024 2024 edition.
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: He said he blends through the annual carry-forward progress.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: So not nine percent of one, which I have here, I didn't get two.
- 28:41SPEAKER_00: I'm probably gonna skip it every two years.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: It's an expensive bottle, and it but how long can an infinity blend continue?
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: Does adding older bourbon necessarily make a whiskey better?
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: Would you rather own a 23-year-old knob creek or this blend?
- 28:56SPEAKER_00: You know, what what what is it personally?
- 28:59SPEAKER_00: How long can the infinity blend?
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna tell you, three is I believe, I don't remember specifically what two what what it was, but what two was, but let's see, yeah, all right.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: Sipping honestly with a purpose always.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: I would say this when I tasted this, this was phenomenal.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: It was in a phenomenal crack, and I'm looking forward to barrel bottle breaking this down now, and we're gonna get ready.
- 29:33SPEAKER_00: So let's do the barrel bottle breakdown, and then we'll do a comparison between three and one and see what happens and go from there.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, uh$200 for a bottle is an expensive bottle, but you get exactly the same thing.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: What I love about Booker's, but Booker's is a$100 bottle with$200 bottles with this, but you do have the 23-year-old Nob Creek in this batch.
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: And honestly, it's really good.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: So let's get on to the Scotchy Bourbon Boys barrel bottle breakdown of Little Book the Infinite Three.
- 30:20SPEAKER_00: Now, if you are just listening for the first time, we have, if you're listening for the first time, we have four categories in the barrel bottle breakdown.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: The nose, the body, the taste palette, and the finish.
- 30:46SPEAKER_00: So each category you can get up to, with the nose and the body, up to four knocks on the barrel.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: The taste and the finish, you can get up to five knocks on the barrel.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: And on one category, if one category's exceptional, you could get a butt up up.
- 31:16SPEAKER_00: So a total of nineteen of eighteen would be the perfect bourbon.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: In this case, I can give you.
- 31:55SPEAKER_00: Now, me, the key question for your tasting does that 23-year-old knob creek, which I have, a 21-year-old knob creek, that's pretty fantastic.
- 32:06SPEAKER_00: But this, honestly, guys, see if this one's better.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: I got some fingerprints, but that's okay.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: I picked this because I wanted to do a podcast tonight, wasn't sure what I wanted, and I'm like, I want to drink good whiskey on the podcast.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: And tonight I just decided that this was really good whiskey.
- 32:28SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 32:29SPEAKER_00: And so let's just go about it.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: Here we go.
- 32:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, that when you sometimes when you're sitting here tasting, you know why this is doing what it's doing, right?
- 32:46SPEAKER_00: You pour it and you can smell it from a foot and a half away.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: And that's what this is doing.
- 32:55SPEAKER_00: I mean, I smelled it while I was pouring it.
- 33:04SPEAKER_00: I mean, this is a hundred and I believe that we talked about a hundred and eighteen proof.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: I mean, nine percent of the first edition, edition three traces directly to the original first blend and the second blend.
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: And then it's gonna have, you know, that's just crazy.
- 33:29SPEAKER_00: And then it just makes it a continuing family whiskey story.
- 33:34SPEAKER_00: And when you think about it, that 30% sits in a container, stainless steel container, and we've seen what aging in a container can do.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: There was Parker, I believe there was a Parker Heritage that got with before the fire got stuck into a steel barrel, and they released it at 20.
- 33:56SPEAKER_00: It was 25 years since they distilled it.
- 34:00SPEAKER_00: So it was and it was fantastic.
- 34:04SPEAKER_00: So there is a beam note of peanut.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: It's very peanut, I would say peanut brittle.
- 34:19SPEAKER_00: There's a ton of vanilla.
- 34:23SPEAKER_00: There's a vanilla.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: There's a caramel and a little bit of caramel apple.
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: So caramel apple, vanilla, and some and that classic bean peanut on the nose.
- 34:45SPEAKER_00: I know that I went upstairs and turned off everything, so I have no hopefully.
- 34:52SPEAKER_00: I'm hoping y'all can hear me on Facebook.
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: I know it's been a little bit wild.
- 35:00SPEAKER_00: And I'll probably lock up when we go on after.
- 35:03SPEAKER_00: Here we go.
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 35:16SPEAKER_00: The balance on this, the proof on this.
- 35:20SPEAKER_00: All right, the nose.
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: It's a I would say out of four on the nose, you're gonna get a I'm giving it a three.
- 35:37SPEAKER_00: It's really good.
- 35:44SPEAKER_00: And if you really love the Jim Bean peanut aspect of it, I think.
- 35:54SPEAKER_00: If you love it, then this is this is your it would be a four.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: But for me, I it's it's similar to a lot of bookers, but there's a little bit better.
- 36:07SPEAKER_00: But it's it's it's it's good.
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: Three for the nose.
- 36:14SPEAKER_00: The body's a different story.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 36:26SPEAKER_00: Walker.
- 36:30SPEAKER_00: God, I don't know where to begin.
- 36:35SPEAKER_00: Damn.
- 36:37SPEAKER_00: That's a next level.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: It's next level.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: It's really good.
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: All right, you can give a body up to four.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: I give it a four.
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: But up up.
- 36:59SPEAKER_00: I give it a five.
- 37:01SPEAKER_00: Can't do it any further on anything else, but that definitely the body on this is insane.
- 37:10SPEAKER_00: The viscosity in the glass, but still the mouthfeel, the the whole thing.
- 37:16SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm gonna say what's phenomenal about this is we were talking about what's in it, right?
- 37:28SPEAKER_00: And there's a nine-year-old baker's bourbon in it.
- 37:31SPEAKER_00: It's older, a year older than the single barrels that I get released.
- 37:36SPEAKER_00: And this nine-year-old baker's makes that mouthfeel, and and the taste is everywhere.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of times you drink whiskey and there's subtle tastes, but that's just that body is huge.
- 38:04SPEAKER_00: I want to say huge.
- 38:10SPEAKER_00: All right, so now we're on to taste.
- 38:17SPEAKER_00: I believe tons of vanilla.
- 38:38SPEAKER_00: A lot of it's vanilla, some caramel.
- 38:44SPEAKER_00: I don't quite get butterscotch, but the peanut aspect, it's so sweet on the palate.
- 38:53SPEAKER_00: And at a hundred and eighteen, the hug is amazing, but the mouth is not getting, it's not like it tingles, it just puts flavor through everywhere.
- 39:11SPEAKER_00: Let's see.
- 39:14SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna say I gotta go with I'm gonna go with a five on the taste.
- 39:26SPEAKER_00: I don't think I don't think, honestly, it's it's what you want whiskey to taste one hundred percent.
- 39:34SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna give it a five.
- 39:44SPEAKER_00: Finish.
- 39:52SPEAKER_00: Like, where is the finish?
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: Spread my ashes.
- 39:58SPEAKER_00: This bottle is insane, Kirk.
- 40:01SPEAKER_00: It just is like insane.
- 40:05SPEAKER_00: I will say that the finish, and I'll see with that twenty-three year old.
- 40:21SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 40:23SPEAKER_00: So right now it's hanging on.
- 40:27SPEAKER_00: I would say, where is that?
- 40:32SPEAKER_00: It's all over the place.
- 40:34SPEAKER_00: It stays around for a little bit longer, but trying to think.
- 40:45SPEAKER_00: Is it still there?
- 40:48SPEAKER_00: Hug's still going.
- 40:52SPEAKER_00: Flavor's still there.
- 40:54SPEAKER_00: Finishes very vanilla y.
- 41:04SPEAKER_00: All right, so the finish on this is gonna be it's a medium finish, and it keeps that really good flavor, so it's great, but it's not long enough to pull the five.
- 41:30SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna give it a four.
- 41:35SPEAKER_00: So this pulls out 17 out of 18 or 19, 17 out of 19.
- 41:44SPEAKER_00: It's fantastic.
- 41:46SPEAKER_00: I I I it's just I love it.
- 41:49SPEAKER_00: And all I can say is just keep this this bottle is crazy, crazy good, and keep going forward with the infinite.
- 42:00SPEAKER_00: It's probably the best thing.
- 42:02SPEAKER_00: I mean, there's lots of little books up there, but this 17 out of 18 is legit.
- 42:07SPEAKER_00: I mean, when I tasted this, the sweetness on the taste is fantastic.
- 42:13SPEAKER_00: And it pulled body and mouthfeel, it pulled four out of four, it pulled a five.
- 42:22SPEAKER_00: It's an exceptional body.
- 42:25SPEAKER_00: And as far as taste, it pulled a five of five.
- 42:29SPEAKER_00: But holding on to that taste and also the nose, they both were a little the the nose, they weren't perfect, but the when it comes to what you're drinking, it's phenomenal.
- 42:43SPEAKER_00: Now, it's I would say the one reason why I gave the nose a three from four is because it pulls a booker's nose and even knows it's knob creek and baker's.
- 43:08SPEAKER_00: Now what we get to do is see, because I do have the original batch that there is nine percent started, and if you come to my house, you can pull.
- 43:26SPEAKER_00: I am a little book fan, I can't say I'm not same now.
- 43:32SPEAKER_00: This one don't have the card anymore, but let's pull off what he says on the front on this one.
- 43:47SPEAKER_00: Let's see.
- 43:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's the same thing that was on one.
- 44:01SPEAKER_00: I love the little wax seal gold thing right there that he's got for Little Book.
- 44:07SPEAKER_00: And and it's kind of like very cool that Freddie came up with Little Book as the name because honestly, Fred continued on the bookers, but Freddie's made something with the whiskey, like he's taking it to the next generation and bringing it to everybody, bringing it to younger whiskey drinkers.
- 44:30SPEAKER_00: This is the the flavor on this is phenomenal.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: So here we go.
- 44:35SPEAKER_00: We're gonna pour a little bit of one in here, and I'll tell you the difference between the two.
- 44:41SPEAKER_00: Now, uh I mean, really, it comes down to is this a$200 bottle?
- 44:57SPEAKER_00: I mean, because Booker's is just my one of my favorites, and I think Booker's is down to I've seen it$79.99,$89.99, but Freddy's, you're talking about$200.
- 45:12SPEAKER_00: And that's one of the reasons why I skipped last year to this year, because you can't just be spending$200 and collecting stuff.
- 45:25SPEAKER_00: You know, this is batch one, and here's batch three.
- 45:30SPEAKER_00: And if you look at my bottle levels, three, one, they're not really that far.
- 45:39SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna see if this is actually locked up as badly.
- 45:43SPEAKER_00: As it looks.
- 45:44SPEAKER_00: I'm just gonna update it again, see if anybody's talking.
- 45:48SPEAKER_00: And hit that.
- 45:53SPEAKER_00: It's as locked up as it looks.
- 45:55SPEAKER_00: Just gonna update it again, see if anybody's talking.
- 45:58SPEAKER_00: Sorry, folks, just my internet sucks.
- 46:02SPEAKER_00: And if you get a chance, you can watch it this way.
- 46:11SPEAKER_00: There, or if you're over on YouTube, I've got these two right there.
- 46:16SPEAKER_00: I'm in between them.
- 46:17SPEAKER_00: Alright, there you go.
- 46:19SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna give this a little bit of a quick.
- 46:26SPEAKER_00: No, nose-wise.
- 46:30SPEAKER_00: It's it's a little bit more.
- 46:32SPEAKER_00: I should look at C at least tell you guys what the proof is on the original.
- 46:39SPEAKER_00: I will do that.
- 46:40SPEAKER_00: That should be there.
- 46:43SPEAKER_00: The original was 118.3.
- 46:47SPEAKER_00: Nope.
- 46:48SPEAKER_00: The original is 119.3.
- 46:57SPEAKER_00: Created this.
- 47:04SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 47:05SPEAKER_00: Which would tell you, I'm if I'm not mistaken, it was made from started off with a lot of bookers.
- 47:12SPEAKER_00: But the knob creek and the baker's getting stuck in there.
- 47:16SPEAKER_00: I wonder if it's the card is in the box.
- 47:20SPEAKER_00: No, it's not.
- 47:23SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 47:24SPEAKER_00: So let's go back to the nose.
- 47:30SPEAKER_00: The nose on this one is a little bit more book it's a little bit more bookers.
- 47:50SPEAKER_00: A little bit more apple on that first one.
- 47:54SPEAKER_00: Caramel apple.
- 48:10SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of eat that bug.
- 48:21SPEAKER_00: I do have something to get the bug out.
- 48:25SPEAKER_00: Didn't have to go get mine.
- 49:19SPEAKER_00: There we go.
- 49:27SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 49:41SPEAKER_00: So the one nineteen point three drinks one twenty one, one twenty two.
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: And it's got a body, but the body has some pepper.
- 49:59SPEAKER_00: And this I think honestly, the bakers has mellowed it.
- 50:08SPEAKER_00: I would pick three over one.
- 50:11SPEAKER_00: I just would.
- 50:12SPEAKER_00: One is damn good.
- 50:14SPEAKER_00: This is a good series.
- 50:17SPEAKER_00: It's like I probably should have picked up two, but I did not because I can't.
- 50:23SPEAKER_00: You just have so much bourbon.
- 50:26SPEAKER_00: But this time I was in, and really comes down to the$200 price.
- 50:33SPEAKER_00: You could stick if you're like, I get all the bookers batches, and little book is part of this, but it is.
- 50:45SPEAKER_00: I would think that if I was to tell you the difference between Bookers and Little Book, is that Freddy as a blender is now balancing flavors.
- 50:58SPEAKER_00: Little Book One The Infinite was very exciting, but it had no all it was was the first batch.
- 51:06SPEAKER_00: And then he put back 30% of that batch and did two.
- 51:11SPEAKER_00: And then he put 30% of that batch and did three.
- 51:15SPEAKER_00: So the evolution of this is this is a lot more like little book and bookers on one.
- 51:22SPEAKER_00: And this is the evolution of the blending of the exquisite balance that he can play with while doing these blends.
- 51:33SPEAKER_00: So there you go.
- 51:34SPEAKER_00: I would say one was worth the 200 because it's one, it's the first ever batch.
- 51:40SPEAKER_00: You got to have one.
- 51:42SPEAKER_00: So 200.
- 51:43SPEAKER_00: Now, three is it Booker's doesn't isn't blended like it's Booker's is uncut, unfiltered, barrel straight, right from the barrel, char and all, and it is about big flavored whiskey and or bourbon.
- 52:07SPEAKER_00: And they don't, there's not, it's not finessed.
- 52:12SPEAKER_00: There's no finesse in the batches.
- 52:14SPEAKER_00: It's boom, right there, what you want from uncut, unfiltered barrel strength bourbon.
- 52:21SPEAKER_00: Where Freddie is now getting into with 118.3 and 119 or 118.1 and 119.1.
- 52:31SPEAKER_00: He's getting into a still up there with barrel strength bourbon.
- 52:35SPEAKER_00: It doesn't have to be in the 120s, but he's playing with, he probably has it proofed down a little bit.
- 52:42SPEAKER_00: And he's playing with, in my opinion, balancing with proof, balancing with bakers, balancing with Nom Creek, balance to come up with a balance of an eloquent bourbon.
- 52:58SPEAKER_00: And he's done it with this three, it's there.
- 53:01SPEAKER_00: It's just, I don't have to do this is drink some fantastic bourbon that really challenges your brain and mind, but doesn't burn out your palate.
- 53:16SPEAKER_00: So honestly, the 17 out of 18 I gave it, it's well deserved, and you know, I love it.
- 53:27SPEAKER_00: So it's three generations of the No family.
- 53:31SPEAKER_00: 23-year-old bourbon, an infinity blend that continues to evolve.
- 53:35SPEAKER_00: Little Book the Infinite 3 certainly has the history, the presentation, and the pedigree.
- 53:41SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 53:42SPEAKER_00: And does it have what it takes in the glass?
- 53:45SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 53:46SPEAKER_00: That's what the barrel bottle breakdown was all about.
- 53:50SPEAKER_00: So thanks for joining me tonight, where bourbon is more than a drink, it's an adventure.
- 53:57SPEAKER_00: And tonight, three beat one, in my opinion, as far as the infinite, and 17 out of 18 on the barrel bottle breakdown of the infinite little book three batch three.
- 54:15SPEAKER_00: So until Thursday, folks, I'm gonna say that you can't forget about remember next Tuesday, probably gonna be watching the World Series.
- 54:28SPEAKER_00: So plan accordingly, and then that following Thursday, we will be back.
