- 0:05Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the right time. A wave original.
- 0:09Speaker 1: My name is Beaumont Jones. Thanks for listening wherever you
- 0:12Speaker 1: get your podcast. Thanks for watching us on YouTube. Subscribe, like,
- 0:16Speaker 1: rate us, review us, give us five stars. You only
- 0:19Speaker 1: give us four stars. I'm inclined to believe you are
- 0:22Speaker 1: a hater. All right.
- 0:25Speaker 2: NFL playoffs are too big.
- 0:27Speaker 1: We have had these wildcard weekends with some blowouts in them,
- 0:30Speaker 1: just absolute terrible action. And gotta say, They gave us
- 0:35Speaker 1: bangers this weekend, right? They gave us no fewer than
- 0:39Speaker 1: four absolute bangers, cliffhangers, nail biters, however you want to
- 0:45Speaker 1: put it. I got to say to you, NFL, well played, baby.
- 0:49Speaker 1: You gave us what we came here for. But as
- 0:53Speaker 1: much as I want to give it up overall to
- 0:55Speaker 1: the NFL, and that's cool. We got to look specifically
- 0:59Speaker 1: at you guys. Nobody better for business than you guys.
- 1:02Speaker 1: And you know who those guys are. Those guys are
- 1:05Speaker 1: the Philadelphia Eagles. They, this, this, Ryan, we've been doing
- 1:09Speaker 1: this all year long where I had to tell myself
- 1:11Speaker 1: we're not going to talk about the Eagles every week, right?
- 1:14Speaker 2: Had long stretches where we didn't.
- 1:15Speaker 1: And it was honestly, because I could talk about the
- 1:17Speaker 1: Eagles every day.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Correct.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Never get tired of it.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Correct.
- 1:21Speaker 4: I can talk. We can talk. Jalen Hurts, Nick Sirianni,
- 1:25Speaker 4: AJ Brown every day. Every Monday. And they gave us
- 1:29Speaker 4: every reason why we want to talk about them every
- 1:32Speaker 4: Monday over the course of the last three hours.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Think about this, man. They got two white dudes out
- 1:36Speaker 2: here covering people.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:37Speaker 2: And that's never the issue.
- 1:40Speaker 4: It didn't come up.
- 1:42Speaker 1: That's one of the bright spots of their whole situation. Like, look, man,
- 1:46Speaker 1: when the white boys play a defensive back and carry
- 1:48Speaker 1: it alone for your team, baby, you guys got to,
- 1:50Speaker 1: you know, got to wonder exactly what's going on here. Look.
- 1:54Speaker 1: They lost this game to the 49ers, and it is
- 1:57Speaker 1: the rare flat-out indefensible loss, right? Like, normally, if teams
- 2:01Speaker 1: are playing at any point in the playoffs with the
- 2:03Speaker 1: exception of that 2-7 game, by and large, it's like, okay,
- 2:06Speaker 1: this could probably go either way. We talked about this
- 2:09Speaker 1: with the 49ers last week. I don't know anybody that
- 2:13Speaker 1: plays defense for them, right? And then on offense, and
- 2:17Speaker 1: you pointed this out, who the hell are those guys
- 2:19Speaker 1: that Purdy's out here throwing the ball to?
- 2:22Speaker 4: Right, and Kittle goes down with the Achilles. It's a
- 2:25Speaker 4: lot of Christian McCaffrey, and then it's Jawan Jennings.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:29Speaker 4: You know, it is, again, it's a motley crew of
- 2:32Speaker 4: dudes at Shanahan scheming up out there.
- 2:34Speaker 1: That used check guy's still in the league.
- 2:36Speaker 5: Right.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Right, and so this was the thing about it for
- 2:40Speaker 1: the Eagles. The 49ers, as presently constructed, should need to
- 2:49Speaker 1: make no mistakes in order to win against a team.
- 2:53Speaker 2: With the hosses that the Eagles have, okay?
- 2:58Speaker 1: Brock Purdy threw two interceptions, and they were bad interceptions, right?
- 3:02Speaker 2: Like, we're not just turning them around.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Those were bad interceptions that he threw. They still beat
- 3:11Speaker 1: the Eagles. Still beat them.
- 3:15Speaker 6: Like....
- 3:17Speaker 1: I have been a Brock Purdy skeptic for a very
- 3:19Speaker 1: long time, okay? He is clearly a starting NFL quarterback.
- 3:24Speaker 1: And what has to really stink for the Eagles is
- 3:27Speaker 1: he was clearly the better quarterback in the game. And
- 3:30Speaker 1: I don't mean simply that he played better than Jalen
- 3:32Speaker 1: Hurts did. You're asking me, which one of them am
- 3:35Speaker 1: I going to take?
- 3:36Speaker 2: At this point, I'm taking Purdy.
- 3:38Speaker 1: And look, man, that imaginary cookout invitation is in peril
- 3:44Speaker 1: for me saying that.
- 3:45Speaker 2: But I ain't already. You know what I'm saying?
- 3:47Speaker 1: Like like that's this is this is how it looked.
- 3:50Speaker 2: This is how it appeared to be.
- 3:52Speaker 1: You've got what's his name?
- 3:54Speaker 2: Sirianni after A.J.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Brown drops a pass running at him right to go
- 3:59Speaker 1: scream at him and Brown screaming right back. And they
- 4:02Speaker 1: can talk all that. Yeah, well, we still love each other. Hey,
- 4:05Speaker 1: I tell you what my therapist would say about that
- 4:07Speaker 1: kind of love. You did. It's not really what it is.
- 4:10Speaker 1: It was a collective failure, right? Is it the quarterback's fault?
- 4:15Speaker 4: Yes.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Did A.J. Brown drop some passes right there? Yes, and
- 4:20Speaker 1: that's got to be the worst for him because he
- 4:22Speaker 1: out there mad as hell because Jalen Hurts is not
- 4:25Speaker 1: playing well, and then finally he dials it up right
- 4:28Speaker 1: on your hands on the third down, and the game matters,
- 4:31Speaker 1: and you don't bring it in, right? You had that
- 4:34Speaker 1: one in the first half that you did not bring in.
- 4:37Speaker 1: It was awful. It's everybody's fault in this game that
- 4:43Speaker 1: the Eagles lost it. This is why I say indefensible.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Even without laying Johnson to a couple guys, you down, man.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Y'all had the players. Y'all had it at the crib.
- 4:54Speaker 1: The only way for you to truly lose this game
- 4:58Speaker 1: is by being outcoached.
- 5:00Speaker 4: All right, and let's just go through the second half drives. Punt, punt,
- 5:05Speaker 4: 10 plays, 23 yards, field goal. Punt, field goal. Downs
- 5:10Speaker 4: to end the game.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Okay, and what's Sirianni supposed to be good at? What's
- 5:13Speaker 2: his thing? He's the offense guy.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Right.
- 5:17Speaker 1: This is your offense. And look, if your quarterback isn't
- 5:20Speaker 1: that guy, I'm sorry, but the other team has Brock Purdy.
- 5:24Speaker 1: You understand what I'm saying?
- 5:25Speaker 2: Like, Kyle, by the way, I don't think we've talked
- 5:28Speaker 2: about this nearly enough.
- 5:30Speaker 1: They lost that game in the NFC Championship where Brock
- 5:33Speaker 1: Purdy got hurt, right?
- 5:35Speaker 3: Right.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I know the way that we talk about Kyle Shanahan
- 5:42Speaker 1: as a coach. I know the way that we talk
- 5:45Speaker 1: about Nick Sirianni as a coach.
- 5:48Speaker 2: If that's the way.
- 5:49Speaker 1: That we talk about Kyle Shanahan and we talk about
- 5:52Speaker 1: Nick Sirianni, how do you think Kyle Shanahan talks about
- 5:56Speaker 1: Nick Sirianni? Do you know how furious he was when
- 5:59Speaker 1: Purdy went down? Like, do you realize if we think
- 6:03Speaker 1: these things about Kyle, Kyle really thinks these things about Kyle.
- 6:06Speaker 4: And if we think these things about Sirianni, Kyle thinks
- 6:09Speaker 4: these things about Sirianni.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Oh, my God. So you think Kyle's out here trying
- 6:12Speaker 2: to get cooked by Sirianni? Like, there's a, you know,
- 6:15Speaker 2: the old story.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I think we've talked about this on the show, but
- 6:17Speaker 1: if you hadn't heard it, what Bobby Knight talks about, man,
- 6:19Speaker 1: I wasn't sure how that game was going to go
- 6:21Speaker 1: that I look over and saw Dale Brown and.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I knew everything was going to be okay.
- 6:26Speaker 1: That's got to be Kyle Shanahan at the prospect of
- 6:30Speaker 1: coaching a game against Nick Sirianni. And that's more or
- 6:33Speaker 1: less what happened here. His team was the better coach team, period.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I would not blame them if they fired Seriotti at
- 6:40Speaker 1: midfield for this.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Game, right? They're not going to. But what will it take?
- 6:48Speaker 1: Right? Because they're going to be so, at least they
- 6:50Speaker 1: are so talented. And it feels like they'll be this
- 6:52Speaker 1: talented for a while that they'll be able to win 10, 11,
- 6:56Speaker 1: 12 games. But something's not right. Right.
- 7:00Speaker 4: I mean, and if something was not right all year,
- 7:02Speaker 4: the vibes were Not great all year.
- 7:05Speaker 2: They weren't great last year. They just won the Super Bowl.
- 7:08Speaker 4: We're now two of the last three years where the
- 7:10Speaker 4: vibes are terrible. You have a stunning collapse to end
- 7:14Speaker 4: your season. I mean, it wasn't as bad as the
- 7:16Speaker 4: Bucs loss where they quit out there. But this was
- 7:18Speaker 4: the offense was as inept as it's been all year long. Yes.
- 7:22Speaker 4: This is more than likely A.J. Brown's last game with
- 7:25Speaker 4: the team.
- 7:25Speaker 1: You got to be.
- 7:27Speaker 4: So, like, I mean, as Deontay always says, what exactly
- 7:30Speaker 4: do you do here?
- 7:31Speaker 1: Yeah, so when you are getting booed in a close
- 7:35Speaker 1: playoff game, because here we go with that shit again.
- 7:39Speaker 2: That's a, you know, like people couldn't even, people couldn't even.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Focus to keep the main thing the main thing.
- 7:44Speaker 2: So, like, whoo.
- 7:46Speaker 1: And again, though, credit to Shanahan and really credit to
- 7:48Speaker 1: Solomon because them dudes is out there bringing the hammer with,
- 7:52Speaker 1: I'm telling you again, I don't know who these people
- 7:55Speaker 1: are and I don't know who these people are because
- 7:56Speaker 1: they had people who I did know. Guys like Fred
- 7:59Speaker 1: Warner who might go to the Hall of Fame.
- 8:00Speaker 2: They're hurt. They were beat down.
- 8:02Speaker 1: They're, for my money, Hall of Fame tight end, probably
- 8:06Speaker 1: post like non-Gronk, best tight end of his era in Kittle.
- 8:11Speaker 1: It may be over for him. He just had the
- 8:13Speaker 1: Achilles tear. Um, McCaffrey's still getting it done. I did
- 8:17Speaker 1: not realize he had 400-something touches this year. Like, this
- 8:21Speaker 1: is a tricky one for Kyle because they're down so
- 8:23Speaker 1: many guys. And I don't think– I don't know what
- 8:26Speaker 1: this is going to be next year for them just
- 8:28Speaker 1: because of what the physical total is going to be
- 8:30Speaker 1: for all of this.
- 8:31Speaker 2: But what it wasn't going to be was him losing
- 8:32Speaker 2: no game to no Nick Sirianni.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Yeah, and after this, they have to go up and
- 8:36Speaker 4: they got to go play Sam Darnold. And they got
- 8:39Speaker 4: to go play that Mike McDonald defense.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Yeah, but no, this is where this gets fun, man, because–
- 8:44Speaker 1: Sam Darnold is Sam Darnold. We'll have plenty of time
- 8:46Speaker 1: to talk about this, but he is same Darnold. Okay.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Like we have seen enough to know that he didn't
- 8:51Speaker 1: turn into an entirely different person, but this is teams
- 8:56Speaker 1: that have played each other twice.
- 8:57Speaker 2: They're going to be, that's going to be a very
- 8:59Speaker 2: good game, I think.
- 9:00Speaker 1: But again, for the Seahawks to be nice to rest
- 9:03Speaker 1: is 49 is beat up.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I want to also say this right here.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Shout out to you, Josh Allen, because a lonely nation
- 9:10Speaker 1: turns his eyes to you.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Apparently.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Ryan, I only got no idea what these broadcasters are
- 9:14Speaker 1: going to do if they had no Josh Allen for
- 9:16Speaker 1: the rest of these playoffs. I had a buddy hit
- 9:18Speaker 1: me up and was like, hey, man, I'll be watching
- 9:19Speaker 1: the red zone for the majority of the year so
- 9:21Speaker 1: I don't hear the announcers. And I've been hearing people
- 9:25Speaker 1: talk about how they be glazing Josh Allen, but he
- 9:28Speaker 1: just figured that it's black people being a little hypersensitive
- 9:31Speaker 1: about the situation. And then he watched the game and
- 9:34Speaker 1: he was like, no, no, no. That's not what happened here.
- 9:39Speaker 4: I know. I don't, you know, I think that... Insult
- 9:42Speaker 4: applies with Romo and Josh Allen in particular. I think
- 9:47Speaker 4: he's going to push him, Jim. You know, like it's
- 9:49Speaker 4: just all that the whole game.
- 9:50Speaker 2: By the way, hate the tush push so much.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Oh my God. Like that play where they basically walked
- 9:55Speaker 1: into the end zone and his alignment basically carried him.
- 9:58Speaker 1: That's not what we're... that's not what this is supposed
- 10:01Speaker 1: to be.
- 10:01Speaker 6: Right.
- 10:01Speaker 2: This has got to be the last year of it.
- 10:03Speaker 4: Right.
- 10:03Speaker 1: And I'm not taking no credit away from Alec because
- 10:05Speaker 1: the big loot was the looting dog. He was getting
- 10:08Speaker 1: it done. I mean, he, he ain't throwing to nobody either.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Right.
- 10:12Speaker 2: You know, like just to be clear, that was an
- 10:14Speaker 2: amazing game.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I thought, I mean, I didn't feel like that's a
- 10:17Speaker 1: game where I come out of it really blaming people,
- 10:19Speaker 1: although I guess you and I didn't think the Jaguars
- 10:22Speaker 1: had any need to throw the ball at all in
- 10:25Speaker 1: that game.
- 10:26Speaker 4: They were averaging at one point like eight yards a
- 10:28Speaker 4: run in the first half, and Liam Cohen, these offensive
- 10:31Speaker 4: coaches sometimes just can't help themselves.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Just can't do it, right? If there's a blame, it's that,
- 10:37Speaker 1: but I still... That was a game I came away
- 10:39Speaker 1: from it just being like, hey, hats off to all
- 10:42Speaker 1: parties involved in the course of it, but... I mean,
- 10:46Speaker 1: it's just Josh Allen thing is interesting in that we
- 10:49Speaker 1: have extended him a measure of patience for being in
- 10:52Speaker 1: year eight, right? Maybe this is because we do treat
- 10:55Speaker 1: my homes like Jordan. And so like we not Charles
- 10:58Speaker 1: Barkley for not winning a championship. We not Patrick Ewan
- 11:01Speaker 1: for not winning a championship, but we don't really look
- 11:03Speaker 1: at them like they were deficient because of the recognition
- 11:06Speaker 1: of the time and era in which they play. Maybe
- 11:08Speaker 1: that is the benefit of the doubt that we are
- 11:11Speaker 1: affording Josh Allen. Cause to be fair, we don't really
- 11:14Speaker 1: knock Lamar Jackson for having not won a Superbowl, right?
- 11:17Speaker 4: We've knocked him for bad playoff performance.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:21Speaker 6: Right.
- 11:21Speaker 2: So some total of it.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Right. So to be fair to Josh Allen, all of this, however,
- 11:27Speaker 1: if the quarterback means what we say that the quarterback means,
- 11:30Speaker 1: then this is the time for him to go ahead
- 11:32Speaker 1: and do it. Cause look, let me make sure like
- 11:34Speaker 1: you go back through and you look at what the
- 11:36Speaker 1: rest of this conference is going to be. Um, It
- 11:40Speaker 1: feels kind of like we're in an era in the
- 11:43Speaker 1: NFL where....
- 11:46Speaker 2: And I guess maybe it's.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Been longer than this, and we just haven't given enough credit.
- 11:49Speaker 1: I know I've talked about this in the past. You
- 11:52Speaker 1: can win with a starting quarterback, not necessarily a franchise quarterback.
- 11:57Speaker 2: I mean, Jalen Hurts just won a Super Bowl.
- 12:00Speaker 1: I think that's the definition of the starting quarterback, but
- 12:02Speaker 1: not the franchise quarterback.
- 12:05Speaker 2: But truthfully, before him.
- 12:08Speaker 1: The last quarterback that we had win a Super Bowl
- 12:11Speaker 1: that truly fit that definition, I guess, is Nick Foles.
- 12:15Speaker 4: I mean, we'll never say this, but the last.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Maybe the old versions of Tom Brady.
- 12:19Speaker 4: No, I was going to say specifically the last Patriots
- 12:21Speaker 4: version of Tom Brady. Because the Bucs, he was playing
- 12:24Speaker 4: a little... He got a little bit going towards the
- 12:26Speaker 4: end of that season.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Yeah, but he was bad in the playoffs.
- 12:29Speaker 4: Yeah, and got really good the last two years, so
- 12:31Speaker 4: that season's weird. But, I mean, the Patriots' Brady, where
- 12:34Speaker 4: they won against the Rams 13-3, was kind of just
- 12:39Speaker 4: a guy. But I think Foles is a good answer.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Yeah, but in that, though, but he's still Tom Brady, right?
- 12:44Speaker 3: Correct.
- 12:44Speaker 4: He's still got this, yeah.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Right, I mean, that year that Peyton Manning was so
- 12:48Speaker 1: awful in 2015, where they had to park him to
- 12:51Speaker 1: just hope he could come back in the playoffs and
- 12:52Speaker 1: give them something. Even with him being bad and he
- 12:55Speaker 1: was throwing them Frisbees, right?
- 12:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:58Speaker 1: They were still some comeback wins early in that season
- 13:01Speaker 1: on the strength of he's still Peyton Manning, right? Like
- 13:04Speaker 1: there was still a magic that he could dial up.
- 13:07Speaker 1: But the AFC, there's a high probability of a dude
- 13:11Speaker 1: or a younger or a young guy like pulling this
- 13:15Speaker 1: off in this. Josh Allen to be who is, you
- 13:19Speaker 1: know what? I was going to say it feels unfair
- 13:21Speaker 1: to be like to be what we say Josh Allen is.
- 13:25Speaker 1: What we're asking Josh Allen to do is things that
- 13:27Speaker 1: we've seen Josh Allen do before, but are unfair to
- 13:30Speaker 1: perhaps ask somebody to do all the time. Right.
- 13:33Speaker 4: I mean, this is kind, but this is like, to
- 13:35Speaker 4: your point, this is kind of might be 94, 95.
- 13:37Speaker 4: It could be. This might be the gap without Mahomes to,
- 13:41Speaker 4: you got to get your title now or who, you know.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Who knows of the way these teams are constructed.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Right.
- 13:46Speaker 2: So how about this?
- 13:47Speaker 1: And I think this is the best way to think
- 13:48Speaker 1: about it in that context. Forget about blame. Forget about fault.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Forget about culpability. Forget about where you're supposed to be
- 13:53Speaker 1: in a given point in time. Just straight ahead. If
- 13:56Speaker 1: you're going to do it, I would recommend you do
- 13:59Speaker 1: it when the number one seed in your conference is
- 14:02Speaker 1: quarterbacked by Bo Nix. I would recommend that now be
- 14:08Speaker 1: the time that you go ahead and do it. Because
- 14:10Speaker 1: the one thing that Josh Allen does have in common
- 14:13Speaker 1: with Lamar Jackson is in the end, you can make
- 14:16Speaker 1: a lot of arguments about Lamar in some of these
- 14:18Speaker 1: games and you can say that he was not the
- 14:20Speaker 1: reason that Baltimore lost. But the indisputable fact was that
- 14:25Speaker 1: he was not the reason why they won. And as
- 14:30Speaker 1: of now, Josh Allen has not been the reason that
- 14:33Speaker 1: the Buffalo Bills have won the AFC. He is certainly
- 14:36Speaker 1: not the reason they lost the 13 second game. I
- 14:39Speaker 1: have a law and it was, but he was not
- 14:41Speaker 1: the reason that they won that game either. Right? Now's
- 14:46Speaker 1: the time. Can you get this done? Can you make
- 14:51Speaker 1: this happen? Um, I don't think that there is truly
- 14:54Speaker 1: any more compelling storyline left in this.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Um, this is it.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Can the big glue glued it all the way and
- 15:03Speaker 1: get them to the Superbowl. if he looks like he
- 15:07Speaker 1: did at those points in Jacksonville, right. He's, he's so
- 15:11Speaker 1: much fun.
- 15:12Speaker 4: Right. I mean, whether or not it's the best, you know,
- 15:16Speaker 4: but when he is running around, you know, putting the
- 15:19Speaker 4: cape on it, it's about as fun as it gets.
- 15:21Speaker 1: So here's the thing to me. I test number one,
- 15:24Speaker 1: I test quarterback of all time is John Elway. And
- 15:26Speaker 1: I've had people try to make the point to me.
- 15:28Speaker 1: They come back around on it. They're like, well, Aaron Rodgers.
- 15:30Speaker 1: I'm like, no, but everybody's ain't look like that. They're like, well,
- 15:32Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers, he's only one inch shorter in the same weight.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I hear what you're saying.
- 15:37Speaker 4: Aaron Rodgers didn't get drafted by the Yankees.
- 15:40Speaker 1: And how about this? Aaron Rodgers didn't get drafted number 25.
- 15:42Speaker 1: If Aaron Rodgers looked like John Elway.
- 15:44Speaker 4: 1-1.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It doesn't matter what, right?
- 15:49Speaker 1: But Josh Allen really got drafted on looks the part.
- 15:53Speaker 1: It was in spite of his actual performance where he
- 15:56Speaker 1: wasn't even all conference in the Mountain West. It was
- 15:58Speaker 1: in spite of it. Josh Allen looks so much bigger
- 16:02Speaker 1: than John Elway did while doing reasonably similar things. Yeah,
- 16:08Speaker 1: there's a big.
- 16:08Speaker 4: Difference between 6'3 and 6'5, nearly 6'6.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Yeah, he doesn't, he's not as fluid an athlete as
- 16:15Speaker 1: Elway was, right? And it doesn't look as easy or
- 16:18Speaker 1: the ball doesn't quite explode out of his hand in
- 16:21Speaker 1: the way that it did out of Elway. But when
- 16:24Speaker 1: this dude is rolling, man, it's just like, What do
- 16:28Speaker 1: you do?
- 16:28Speaker 2: What, what, what, what in the world?
- 16:30Speaker 4: And again, he's not doing a QB sneak for 10 yards.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I still get that. Ban it, ban it. It was,
- 16:36Speaker 1: it was, it was absurd, but this is if Josh
- 16:40Speaker 1: Allen wins this, it'll be great for all parties involved.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Cause there's really the only true reason to root against
- 16:45Speaker 1: him is some measure of.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Hating, right?
- 16:48Speaker 1: Like, like that's, that's all we've got in this, but
- 16:52Speaker 1: I tell you, they almost lost it.
- 16:54Speaker 2: And in that loss, The coach almost lost his job.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Speaking of coaches and jobs that can be lost.
- 17:09Speaker 2: It's hard for me to call this shocking.
- 17:10Speaker 1: News because it is not really news. It's a bit
- 17:14Speaker 1: of milk toast as far as news goes, but still
- 17:18Speaker 1: is a bit shocking. Adam Schefter is reporting, and again...
- 17:25Speaker 1: This is no knock on him, right? This is just
- 17:27Speaker 1: where the game goes. But Ryan, he is reporting that
- 17:31Speaker 1: the Packers and Matt LaFleur are expected to work on
- 17:37Speaker 1: a contract extension. And that's news about something that hasn't happened. Right.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Yes, that's news about the reporting of a potential transaction
- 17:47Speaker 4: that is not transacted.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Right. It's not even just news about something that hasn't happened.
- 17:52Speaker 1: It's news that something might happen, but we're not 100% sure.
- 17:59Speaker 3: Right.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Which is not exactly news.
- 18:02Speaker 4: Correct. But it is interesting.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Yeah, not a knock on Schefter, right? But it's interesting because... It.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Raises some interesting questions about like, what in the world
- 18:12Speaker 1: are the Packers doing? Okay, so this is where I'm standing, right?
- 18:15Speaker 1: We are now a good, almost 48 hours removed from
- 18:21Speaker 1: that game on Saturday night where the Packers fell apart
- 18:23Speaker 1: in the second half against the Bears and Caleb Williams.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Hey man, do you notice this by the way about
- 18:29Speaker 1: Caleb Williams? Well, I guess, okay, let me get to
- 18:31Speaker 1: that later. Let me get to that later. I'm gonna
- 18:33Speaker 1: hold that. We're gonna talk about some playoff stuff in
- 18:34Speaker 1: a little bit. I'm gonna hold that. Boom, we get there, okay?
- 18:37Speaker 3: I'm excited.
- 18:37Speaker 4: I don't even know where we're going with this.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But this is
- 18:41Speaker 1: what I'm saying. We went into this game with LeFleur's
- 18:45Speaker 1: job being a little shaky. Ryan, we mentioned this last show,
- 18:48Speaker 1: and I noticed that apparently we got some pushback on
- 18:50Speaker 1: the internet about the fact that LeFleur's job might be
- 18:53Speaker 1: in danger, even though people have been talking about this.
- 18:56Speaker 4: Yes, we don't make up these rumors.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Yeah, like the reason I said that, I thought that
- 19:02Speaker 1: we were operating with a common understanding of things, right?
- 19:06Speaker 2: But apparently we were not. Okay, then it went the
- 19:09Speaker 2: way it went.
- 19:10Speaker 1: And now everybody's talking about, hey, you got to fire
- 19:12Speaker 1: this guy for this one, right? Or that's the internet
- 19:14Speaker 1: chatter that goes. And I see this among reporters, not
- 19:16Speaker 1: just among people I know actually exist, not just stuff
- 19:19Speaker 1: on the internet, right? And so then it goes, and
- 19:23Speaker 1: my question is, if you were the Packers and there
- 19:26Speaker 1: was any doubt about whether or not you were going
- 19:29Speaker 1: to keep LeFleur going into Saturday, after.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Saturday, you fire him.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Like, that loss was a, that loss was a fireable offense.
- 19:38Speaker 4: They were up 13 points with less than seven minutes
- 19:40Speaker 4: to go in the fourth quarter.
- 19:41Speaker 5: Right, right.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Like, you don't get fired for every fireable offense. But
- 19:49Speaker 1: if you were trying to, decide if you were going
- 19:50Speaker 1: to fire him, there's nothing else for us to do here.
- 19:55Speaker 1: You don't even have to let him go talk to
- 19:57Speaker 1: the team. Yeah.
- 19:58Speaker 6: Right?
- 19:59Speaker 1: Or like, when he goes in and talks to the team,
- 20:01Speaker 1: you know, he gets in there and is.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Like, and I will take.
- 20:09Speaker 1: With me, the memories.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Because it's over, dog. It's over. This is it. Now
- 20:17Speaker 2: we come back Monday.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Morning and they're saying, oh, well, you know, they, you know,
- 20:20Speaker 1: we expect that they'll work out, work on it.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Oh, no, not even work out. Work on. How hard
- 20:25Speaker 2: is this? I got none of this. What have you been?
- 20:30Speaker 4: He has one year left on his contract. What have
- 20:32Speaker 4: you been doing all year?
- 20:34Speaker 1: You and his agent ain't never thrown no numbers out there.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Nobody's had any conversation about this. This is what you
- 20:40Speaker 1: expect me to believe. No. The only thing that I
- 20:43Speaker 1: could glean from this is that the Packers are in
- 20:45Speaker 1: a situation where they know they probably want to move
- 20:51Speaker 1: on to another coach. Now, I tend to think he's
- 20:53Speaker 1: a better coach than they do. But I see what
- 20:56Speaker 1: the problem is.
- 20:57Speaker 5: Right.
- 20:57Speaker 1: You know, like, I see what the issue is if
- 20:59Speaker 1: you decide to go ahead and make that move.
- 21:01Speaker 4: There are obvious glaring issues, but this is also the
- 21:04Speaker 4: same person who made Malik Willis look like a real
- 21:06Speaker 4: NFL quarterback.
- 21:07Speaker 2: This is what I'm saying.
- 21:07Speaker 1: This is kind of like what happened with James Franklin
- 21:09Speaker 1: at Penn State. Like, I don't think you're going to
- 21:11Speaker 1: get a better coach, but I see why you did it.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Right.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Right? You know, now maybe they did in Penn State,
- 21:15Speaker 1: but you get my point, right? I get why you
- 21:18Speaker 1: might have made this move. I can only assume that
- 21:21Speaker 1: what the Packers are doing is recognizing that LeFleur, if
- 21:24Speaker 1: they fire him, will work somewhere next year.
- 21:27Speaker 2: This isn't some dude where it's like.
- 21:28Speaker 1: You know, maybe I'll take a year off and go
- 21:30Speaker 1: do some television.
- 21:31Speaker 2: How old is he?
- 21:31Speaker 5: 38?
- 21:32Speaker 1: I'm actually not sure. Like, it's just hard for me
- 21:34Speaker 1: to tell. Once a white boy get a fade, you
- 21:37Speaker 1: know what I'm saying? And got like a trying to
- 21:38Speaker 1: be cool dude mustache, he could be anywhere in the
- 21:42Speaker 1: age continuum.
- 21:43Speaker 4: 46.
- 21:44Speaker 2: He's 46?
- 21:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:46Speaker 2: He's older than me?
- 21:47Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Here's what makes that crazy.
- 21:49Speaker 1: You know what?
- 21:50Speaker 4: I remember he's older. Do you remember the stories about
- 21:52Speaker 4: how he was Brian Kelly's graduate assistant?
- 21:55Speaker 2: Oh, that's right.
- 21:56Speaker 1: That's right.
- 21:56Speaker 4: For Central Michigan, he got.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Invited to the party.
- 21:58Speaker 2: He and Sala, were they both, were they the ones
- 22:00Speaker 2: where they were valet in cars?
- 22:01Speaker 4: Yeah, they got invited to the party. They thought they
- 22:03Speaker 4: were invited to the party, but they were told to
- 22:07Speaker 4: valet cars.
- 22:07Speaker 2: They were Prince Akeem and Simi.
- 22:10Speaker 1: But just for some context, you know Sean McVay still
- 22:13Speaker 1: isn't 40?
- 22:14Speaker 4: Yeah, he turns 40 in two weeks.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Yeah, he turns 40 in two weeks.
- 22:17Speaker 1: He's seven years older or younger than Matt LeFleur. But anyway,
- 22:23Speaker 1: they must be planning to trade him.
- 22:25Speaker 4: Or are we opening the market to trade him?
- 22:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Put themselves into a position where if somebody wants
- 22:31Speaker 1: the floor, then they can get some picks out of
- 22:34Speaker 1: the situation.
- 22:35Speaker 7: Right.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Baltimore is a team that we look at.
- 22:39Speaker 1: The Falcons got to be like, damn, because if you
- 22:41Speaker 1: want to pick, you probably want a first round pick.
- 22:43Speaker 1: And we ain't got one of those right now. Otherwise,
- 22:47Speaker 1: this doesn't add up. Right. Now, the biggest loser in
- 22:52Speaker 1: this scenario that the Packers have pointed out, or maybe
- 22:54Speaker 1: the Just a winner, and it goes a little farther
- 22:57Speaker 1: down the line, is John Harbaugh.
- 23:00Speaker 2: When John Harbaugh got fired, Adam Schefter told.
- 23:03Speaker 1: The world that nine teams had reached out to Team Harbaugh.
- 23:09Speaker 1: At the time, there were only six job openings.
- 23:14Speaker 4: I think it's a pretty easy math on who those
- 23:16Speaker 4: three teams are.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Who you got? The Giants?
- 23:20Speaker 4: No, teams without openings.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Okay, so the Packers at the time.
- 23:24Speaker 4: The Packers?
- 23:25Speaker 2: The Dolphins at the time.
- 23:27Speaker 4: See, I was going Packers, Eagles, Bills.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, but remember the Dolphins had a coach.
- 23:32Speaker 1: At the time.
- 23:32Speaker 3: That's true.
- 23:33Speaker 4: The Dolphins did have a coach at the time.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. But all of these are on the board.
- 23:37Speaker 7: The Eagles.
- 23:39Speaker 1: That's the tricky one, right?
- 23:41Speaker 4: Yeah, we talked about that earlier.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Yeah, we already got into that. Don't need to do
- 23:45Speaker 2: that again. But Harbaugh has all this leverage.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Like apparently he's got a list of demands that is
- 23:51Speaker 1: starting to float around. And who has any idea if
- 23:54Speaker 1: those demands are true? That could be just as easily
- 23:56Speaker 1: leaked out by a team that is trying to poison
- 23:59Speaker 1: the well and make people not want him. But in
- 24:02Speaker 1: the end, he is accomplished. His teams have been consistently good.
- 24:09Speaker 1: He is basically thought of as a guy that people
- 24:13Speaker 1: can get along with and an ego that would allow
- 24:15Speaker 1: him to put people in places and let them.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Do their jobs.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Like, I see all the reasons why people would be
- 24:23Speaker 1: interested in hiring him. But did you see what just
- 24:28Speaker 1: happened with the last team that he coached with one
- 24:31Speaker 1: of the three best quarterbacks in the NFL? And no
- 24:34Speaker 1: matter what you might say about Lamar Jackson and what
- 24:37Speaker 1: the word on the street might be and so forth
- 24:39Speaker 1: and so on, he's Lamar Jackson. And he's the guy
- 24:43Speaker 1: that saved Harbaugh's job in the first place. However many
- 24:46Speaker 1: years ago it's been now, right? Seven going on eight, okay?
- 24:50Speaker 1: He's the guy who did that. Harbaugh's also 64 years old.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Are you guys sure about this? Like, Is this terribly
- 25:01Speaker 1: different than hiring Pete Carroll? If you had done that
- 25:06Speaker 1: a couple of years ago. And I want to be
- 25:08Speaker 1: clear about something. Pete Carroll is a lot older than
- 25:13Speaker 1: John Harbaugh, right? But at this point, right? This is
- 25:19Speaker 1: my 10 year age gap between them.
- 25:20Speaker 4: Won a Super Bowl about a decade ago.
- 25:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 25:24Speaker 4: Feuded with his, at the time, star quarterback.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:27Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 25:30Speaker 4: Struggled to hire and promote coordinators. Yep.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Kind of gradual decline.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Kind of gradual decline. And yeah. And then had, you know,
- 25:42Speaker 4: epic playoff failures and high leverage moments.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Yep. And by the way, when I mean gradual decline,
- 25:46Speaker 1: is that even in the record, right? but it's in
- 25:49Speaker 1: things around the edges.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Of the program, right?
- 25:52Speaker 1: That's what all the reports that you get now about
- 25:54Speaker 1: Harbaugh in Baltimore is it just kind of frayed around
- 25:57Speaker 1: the edges. He didn't lose the team, right? Like it
- 26:00Speaker 1: wasn't all over. Now it is possible that, and I've
- 26:03Speaker 1: seen this example be made about Harbaugh that maybe it's
- 26:05Speaker 1: like Andy Reid and you just need to leave this
- 26:09Speaker 1: one place and then go somewhere else and restart.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Couple of things.
- 26:12Speaker 1: One, I have a much clearer idea of what the
- 26:14Speaker 1: Andy Reid football philosophy is. and what he's bringing. I'm
- 26:18Speaker 1: not saying Harbaugh doesn't have these things. I'm saying I
- 26:20Speaker 1: don't have as clear an idea about it. Number two,
- 26:23Speaker 1: John Harbaugh is 64 today. Andy Reid is 67 today.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Andy Reid made that job change 13 years ago. He
- 26:36Speaker 1: was 54.
- 26:37Speaker 2: You see what I'm saying?
- 26:40Speaker 1: We're not talking about the same thing under those circumstances,
- 26:44Speaker 1: but He's such a great fit for the Giants. You
- 26:47Speaker 1: know what I mean? Like, he's exactly the kind of
- 26:49Speaker 1: guy the Giants want.
- 26:50Speaker 4: I understand if you are an organizational dumpster fire and
- 26:54Speaker 4: you're like, we have to get an adult in here.
- 26:56Speaker 3: Yes.
- 26:56Speaker 4: I understand the logic behind it. But, like, if you
- 27:00Speaker 4: have a three... Let's say you need a two-year rebuild
- 27:03Speaker 4: to find your quarterback and turn over your roster.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Not the guy.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Yeah. And.
- 27:07Speaker 4: Even if he was, he'd be 66.
- 27:09Speaker 3: Right.
- 27:09Speaker 2: But hold on.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Let's think about this. Because what John Harbaugh never had
- 27:13Speaker 1: to do was rebuild. Right. Right? He has never had
- 27:18Speaker 1: to start it from the bottom. When they fired Brian Billick,
- 27:21Speaker 1: that team wasn't great, but it still had, I want
- 27:23Speaker 1: to say, four Hall of Famers, right?
- 27:26Speaker 4: And a top three GM in Ozzie Newsom.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Right.
- 27:29Speaker 1: You got Ozzie Newsom, you had Ray Lewis, you had
- 27:32Speaker 1: Ed Reed, you had Terrell Suggs.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Was Ogden on the team?
- 27:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Ogden retired at the end of 07.
- 27:40Speaker 4: Gotcha.
- 27:41Speaker 2: But point has been made, right?
- 27:43Speaker 4: Yeah, correct.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Everybody sees what we're talking about. Now, if we look
- 27:47Speaker 1: at the job openings that are there, oh, the Jets,
- 27:50Speaker 1: not an opening.
- 27:51Speaker 4: That's wild. Yes.
- 27:53Speaker 1: The Giants, kind of, sort of a rebuild, but I
- 27:55Speaker 1: guess it depends on how far along you feel like
- 27:58Speaker 1: their quarterback is and how long he's got to go
- 28:00Speaker 1: before he gets his egg cracked.
- 28:02Speaker 2: The Browns, oh, no, no, no, no, no.
- 28:05Speaker 1: I don't think that's a win for either side of this,
- 28:08Speaker 1: if it comes to it.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Well, the Packers, maybe.
- 28:12Speaker 1: The Packers are the team where Harbaugh would have had
- 28:14Speaker 1: all the leverage, right? Weren't on the street with something
- 28:16Speaker 1: he won like $ 20 million a year. This is not
- 28:18Speaker 1: Sean Payton, right? This is not a guy that I
- 28:22Speaker 1: look at like, yeah, that's the one that we.
- 28:24Speaker 4: And be clear, Sean Payton, clear foibles. But someone with
- 28:30Speaker 4: a clear football philosophy.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like when you bring him in,
- 28:34Speaker 1: everything is different in a way that is not quite
- 28:36Speaker 1: the same.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Like Harbaugh's not that kind of personality.
- 28:40Speaker 4: And he still has Bill Parcells putting him over. Yes.
- 28:43Speaker 2: By the way, John is not his brother.
- 28:46Speaker 6: Right.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Now, you tell me that we're coming in with his
- 28:49Speaker 1: brother and we're going to turn this thing over. And
- 28:50Speaker 1: by the way, he never really had to. He didn't
- 28:52Speaker 1: have to rebuild with the 49ers. No. He didn't have
- 28:54Speaker 1: to rebuild with the Chargers. He went places with at
- 28:57Speaker 1: least a quarterback. All right, I can do something with this.
- 29:00Speaker 1: You know, if you take John Harbaugh to Atlanta, that
- 29:03Speaker 1: becomes interesting because they don't need a rebuild, but they
- 29:07Speaker 1: also don't really have a quarterback.
- 29:09Speaker 4: Right.
- 29:10Speaker 1: And the one that they might got got one leg.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:14Speaker 1: You know, he's not going to Tennessee.
- 29:17Speaker 6: Right.
- 29:17Speaker 8: Right.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Like that's that's that's not going to be a place
- 29:21Speaker 1: that he wants.
- 29:22Speaker 4: Of Clint Kubiak. You know, just like the next person
- 29:26Speaker 4: in the McVeigh Shanahan trade is getting another job.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Now, I bet you could get Mark Davis to give
- 29:30Speaker 1: you a gazillion dollars. But who all money and good money, baby.
- 29:34Speaker 1: You know what I mean? The Cardinals, the Cardinals are
- 29:37Speaker 1: very confusing because I don't know. They have a quarterback,
- 29:42Speaker 1: but they don't want him.
- 29:45Speaker 4: Right, and also sneaky dysfunctional franchise.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Yeah, and I don't know where they're supposed to get
- 29:49Speaker 1: this other quarterback. They're doing a lot of things that
- 29:52Speaker 1: your boy don't understand is all I'm saying. I don't
- 29:56Speaker 1: know where this place is that's a John Harbaugh awake.
- 29:59Speaker 2: From making this go? And how many.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Double-digit losses, I mean, leads have they blown? Like, what
- 30:06Speaker 1: have these playoff scenarios been under Lamar Jackson? He's been
- 30:08Speaker 1: right there with them.
- 30:09Speaker 4: You know where the best scenario for a hypothetical John
- 30:12Speaker 4: Harbaugh is?
- 30:13Speaker 3: Hmm. The Ravens.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Or, or, or the Steelers.
- 30:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Like.
- 30:21Speaker 4: I do like the idea of them just trading coaches.
- 30:23Speaker 1: You know, there's so many interesting ideas there, right? Because...
- 30:28Speaker 1: Each is the kind of coach that the other franchise
- 30:31Speaker 1: is into.
- 30:32Speaker 6: Right.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Right. Right.
- 30:34Speaker 2: They fit each other's stability.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Right. You know, they're going to be some looks perhaps,
- 30:39Speaker 1: but it's going to be a pretty steady ship as
- 30:42Speaker 1: it goes across the board. And by the way, all
- 30:44Speaker 1: of this is why the Steelers are not moving off
- 30:46Speaker 1: or no Mike Tomlin. Right.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Like that's unless they go higher shot Harbaugh.
- 30:50Speaker 1: I don't know. But hey, we're saying this before the
- 30:53Speaker 1: Steelers play this game against the Houston Texans. So we
- 30:56Speaker 1: don't know exactly what any of this could be.
- 30:58Speaker 2: But Harbaugh has all the leverage.
- 31:00Speaker 1: And I just want to know, who are the people
- 31:02Speaker 1: that are sitting in there and being like, wait a
- 31:05Speaker 1: minute now, wait a minute. Because look, the whole league
- 31:07Speaker 1: did that with Bill Belichick. And I think as of now,
- 31:11Speaker 1: those decisions have been vindicated. Now, the difference is Belichick
- 31:16Speaker 1: has a clear football philosophy, and that may have been
- 31:19Speaker 1: the problem.
- 31:20Speaker 3: Right.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Particularly a philosophy on talent evaluation.
- 31:23Speaker 4: His philosophy is, I know what I'm doing.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Yep. Trust me.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Which works really well for, you know, about 18 years.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Yes.
- 31:31Speaker 4: Until it didn't.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Okay, so let's think about this with Philadelphia.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Former Eagles assistant John Harbaugh. OK, let's just say the
- 31:38Speaker 1: Eagles look, man, they got to fire. The day is
- 31:41Speaker 1: going to come where they got to fire Sirianni after
- 31:43Speaker 1: going like 12 and 5, 11 and 6. Right. I
- 31:45Speaker 1: think we talked about that before. Like that's that's going
- 31:47Speaker 1: to happen at some point. Harbaugh would not be a
- 31:51Speaker 1: terrible fit there. But is Harbaugh trying to work in
- 31:55Speaker 1: a situation where Howie got all the power and is
- 31:57Speaker 1: running the roster? Because it sounds like Harbaugh wants to
- 31:59Speaker 1: go somewhere where he's got all that power.
- 32:01Speaker 4: Which is also another interesting, you know, decision to give
- 32:05Speaker 4: to a 64-year-old.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Yeah, man. Like, this is.
- 32:08Speaker 1: It's an awkward time. It's the greatest time in the
- 32:12Speaker 1: world for him to get fired. But it's not a
- 32:16Speaker 1: great time for him to get hired. Like, I don't...
- 32:20Speaker 1: We're going to learn a lot about what all these
- 32:22Speaker 1: front offices truly prioritize in this moment. And I would say,
- 32:26Speaker 1: for example, if you're John Harbaugh and the Giants want
- 32:28Speaker 1: to hire you, that is an indictment of you. Like
- 32:31Speaker 1: nothing about the Giants hiring of late says, oh boy,
- 32:34Speaker 1: they know what they're doing. You know what I mean?
- 32:36Speaker 1: Like Al Davis used to mess up a lot in hiring,
- 32:39Speaker 1: but he used to try to hire a lot of
- 32:41Speaker 1: guys that turned out to be good.
- 32:43Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 32:44Speaker 1: Like if Al Davis wanted to hire you, you were 32,
- 32:46Speaker 1: it might've meant something.
- 32:47Speaker 2: People just didn't want to go work for him. The
- 32:50Speaker 2: ones who could.
- 32:51Speaker 1: But if the people who brought you Ben McAdoo, Pat Shermer,
- 32:57Speaker 1: Brian Daybold, Judge Joe Brown, Joe Judge, that was his name.
- 33:04Speaker 1: If they're like, yo, we see something in you. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 33:08Speaker 1: What's that supposed to mean, partner? You know, what you
- 33:11Speaker 1: think about me right now?
- 33:15Speaker 4: I'm just going to point out for the record that
- 33:16Speaker 4: you insulted John Harbaugh in the same way you backhanded
- 33:19Speaker 4: compliment Lane Kiffin.
- 33:23Speaker 2: I did.
- 33:28Speaker 1: It's actually the shining thing on the Lane Kiffin resume
- 33:34Speaker 1: is that Al Davis thought he might got something.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Like that really is the thing, right?
- 33:40Speaker 1: And then by the way, one year later, Get this
- 33:44Speaker 1: man out of my sight.
- 33:46Speaker 2: I never... Oh, I hate Lane Kiffin so much.

- 36:23Speaker 4: All right, Bo, three games we haven't really hit. Rams,
- 36:32Speaker 4: Big Wiggins went over the Panthers. The Bears' comeback went
- 36:37Speaker 4: over the Packers, and then the Patriots beating down the
- 36:40Speaker 4: Chargers last night. Who is the biggest winner and loser
- 36:42Speaker 4: from these three games?
- 36:44Speaker 1: Okay, now, out of these three games, I think Well,
- 36:49Speaker 1: the biggest loser, I think, again, is Matt LaFleur, who
- 36:51Speaker 1: we just got to be talking about.
- 36:53Speaker 4: Justin Herbert's close.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Yeah, if I say the runner-up, I think it's Justin Herbert.
- 36:57Speaker 2: I want to be fair to him, though, right?
- 36:59Speaker 1: Their tackles have been out all a year he's got
- 37:03Speaker 1: a hand so busted up can't take snaps from under center.
- 37:08Speaker 4: Um i like that that that's gonna be the take
- 37:11Speaker 4: or uh yes yes.
- 37:13Speaker 1: It is oh but first things first is this is
- 37:16Speaker 1: the already made topic for first things first this justin
- 37:19Speaker 1: herbert situation um I think Herbert again wound up in
- 37:23Speaker 1: a situation where we said with Josh Allen before, I
- 37:25Speaker 1: do not think he is the reason that they lost
- 37:27Speaker 1: that game, but it is very clear that he is
- 37:29Speaker 1: not the reason why they won that game. Right. So
- 37:33Speaker 1: like he is a runner up there in the loser category.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Honestly, the winner.
- 37:44Speaker 1: It's like it's either Caleb Williams or it's Drake May.
- 37:49Speaker 1: And I mean that in the sense that obviously a
- 37:51Speaker 1: win legitimizes both of them. And for May, even though
- 37:59Speaker 1: May has been better this year, Caleb Williams felt like
- 38:02Speaker 1: he was on the clock this year.
- 38:04Speaker 3: Right.
- 38:05Speaker 4: Do you remember that article that came out at the
- 38:08Speaker 4: beginning of the year?
- 38:08Speaker 1: Yeah, the Tyler Dunn piece. And by the way, It
- 38:12Speaker 1: looks to me, and I could be wrong. I don't
- 38:13Speaker 1: know these people, okay? I don't think those people like him.
- 38:17Speaker 1: But it is reaching the point where it doesn't really matter.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Right.
- 38:20Speaker 7: Right?
- 38:21Speaker 1: Like, he is... He had a jump-on-my-back performance in that game.
- 38:27Speaker 1: And he is so good when it gets to jump-on-my-back point. Right? Like,
- 38:31Speaker 1: what Johnson has gotten out of him is we're not
- 38:33Speaker 1: taking the sacks. That, by itself, is a giant improvement
- 38:38Speaker 1: for him. Where he took something like 40 fewer sacks.
- 38:41Speaker 1: this season than he did last season.
- 38:43Speaker 2: And, man, he's got an arm.
- 38:45Speaker 6: Right?
- 38:46Speaker 1: When this is just get back there, move around a
- 38:48Speaker 1: little bit, see what might happen, he was making throws
- 38:51Speaker 1: that I could not believe.
- 38:55Speaker 2: My goodness, I couldn't believe the stuff that he was doing.
- 38:58Speaker 1: And so now he's skipped over the question, well, when
- 39:01Speaker 1: will he win a playoff game question. That one is
- 39:05Speaker 1: already answered. You know what I mean?
- 39:07Speaker 2: They get a home playoff game.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Again, right? Right.
- 39:09Speaker 4: They play the Rams.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Yeah, like, you know, in that one.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Hey, the Rams just struggled against an 8-9 team.
- 39:18Speaker 2: By the way, shout out to the little homie.
- 39:20Speaker 1: He did the best he could, and it was pretty good. Like,
- 39:23Speaker 1: way to go, Bryce, y'all. Just don't take no more
- 39:26Speaker 1: pictures with Mina. That that just that messed everything up
- 39:29Speaker 1: for you.
- 39:31Speaker 4: Man that was a bit of a tough beat all
- 39:33Speaker 4: right well let's transition a bit more of a serious
- 39:35Speaker 4: topic Trump administration says they will send hundreds more federal
- 39:39Speaker 4: agents to Minneapolis over the week following the weekend uh
- 39:43Speaker 4: to support ICE agents after of course the shooting of
- 39:47Speaker 4: a woman there um But what's your reaction to what's
- 39:50Speaker 4: going on in Minnesota?
- 39:51Speaker 1: All right, man. So this is my thing about ice
- 39:53Speaker 1: and there. And, you know, I think most of the
- 39:57Speaker 1: top line things have been said by people already. I
- 40:00Speaker 1: think observing what happened is fairly obvious what it was.
- 40:05Speaker 1: I'm a bit out of the business of saying obvious
- 40:07Speaker 1: things at this point.
- 40:08Speaker 3: Right.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Like that's that's not the direction that I want to
- 40:11Speaker 1: go in. And generally speaking, I'm out of the business
- 40:13Speaker 1: of watching people get shot. OK, so I have not like.
- 40:18Speaker 1: So deep in the like, I don't know the way
- 40:21Speaker 1: to put it, but, you know, when we used to
- 40:22Speaker 1: talk about the police killing people all the time before
- 40:24Speaker 1: we got bored with it, I used to get in
- 40:26Speaker 1: there and like watch these videos and, you know, get
- 40:29Speaker 1: in and investigating. It was like I was trying to
- 40:31Speaker 1: prove a point, like argue the truth of the matter
- 40:34Speaker 1: to people to win the argument until realizing that the
- 40:38Speaker 1: particulars didn't matter. The particulars weren't the point.
- 40:42Speaker 6: Right.
- 40:43Speaker 1: And there were all these little details that you could
- 40:45Speaker 1: come up with that you were trying to explain if
- 40:46Speaker 1: it was justified or not. The laws were engineered in
- 40:48Speaker 1: such a way to where this question never really came up.
- 40:53Speaker 1: And the real issue was just about whether or not
- 40:56Speaker 1: people possess the requisite level of empathy for black people
- 41:01Speaker 1: under these circumstances, right? And I felt like that was
- 41:04Speaker 1: the fight that was being had at that time was
- 41:06Speaker 1: a fight.
- 41:08Speaker 2: About humanity.
- 41:10Speaker 1: And there was always a little subtle undercurrent of the
- 41:14Speaker 1: discussion which basically implied that white people didn't care that
- 41:19Speaker 1: much if white people got shot by the cops either, right?
- 41:23Speaker 1: Like the argument would wind up being from some people,
- 41:26Speaker 1: and I'd seen this often where black folks would bring
- 41:28Speaker 1: up these numbers about black people getting killed by the
- 41:30Speaker 1: cops and what happens when black people get caught by
- 41:32Speaker 1: the cops. And the response to it was, well, this
- 41:35Speaker 1: doesn't just happen to black people, which is a really
- 41:38Speaker 1: interesting answer for people to have, right?
- 41:42Speaker 2: But it was the truth.
- 41:44Speaker 1: All these laws and the way they go apply to
- 41:46Speaker 1: if you smoke a white person too. And they were
- 41:49Speaker 1: on occasion smoking white people and getting away with it. Like,
- 41:52Speaker 1: you know, these same things were going on. We just
- 41:54Speaker 1: got to like a larger police state sort of issue that, again,
- 41:59Speaker 1: I don't think we ever resolved. We just kind of
- 42:02Speaker 1: moved on and talked about something else. Well, now we're
- 42:08Speaker 1: dealing with a different macro issue.
- 42:11Speaker 2: On top of it.
- 42:11Speaker 1: And that issue was ICE.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Okay.
- 42:15Speaker 1: La migra, as nuestros hermanos call it, right? The immigration
- 42:21Speaker 1: police that we have, which is a force that's been
- 42:24Speaker 1: around for a while, but a force that gets beefed
- 42:27Speaker 1: up because they need more people to do the job. Ryan,
- 42:30Speaker 1: I don't know how much subway riding you're doing, but
- 42:32Speaker 1: I've seen the advertisements on there, right?
- 42:35Speaker 2: You know, like they out here.
- 42:37Speaker 1: I'm just saying that they're looking for ICE agents, not
- 42:40Speaker 1: in the places where you get your best and brightest.
- 42:43Speaker 4: I mean, there's articles and faxed figures about the people
- 42:46Speaker 4: they're finding.
- 42:47Speaker 2: They're terrible.
- 42:49Speaker 4: To put it succinctly and bluntly, they're overweight and they
- 42:52Speaker 4: can't read.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Right. And this is not an exaggeration.
- 42:55Speaker 4: Which is at minimum... Not great qualifications for cops.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. This is not a generalization that he's making here. Like,
- 43:02Speaker 1: have you ever seen Cocaine Cowboys?
- 43:03Speaker 4: Yes.
- 43:05Speaker 1: It's a documentary about just kind of the building of
- 43:07Speaker 1: modern Miami, basically. But they made a point that as
- 43:10Speaker 1: Miami got bigger and bigger and the drug game got
- 43:13Speaker 1: bigger and bigger, they needed more and more police.
- 43:16Speaker 2: But they were.
- 43:16Speaker 1: Unable to find police that met the minimum standards that
- 43:20Speaker 1: they had.
- 43:21Speaker 2: For the police force.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Like, for example, it started with you couldn't be a
- 43:25Speaker 1: cop if you would ever use drugs. Okay, well, that
- 43:27Speaker 1: standard was too high. And then it got to be, well,
- 43:30Speaker 1: you haven't used drugs in the last two years. And
- 43:32Speaker 1: that standard was too high. And it got to be,
- 43:35Speaker 1: can you pass a drug test? And that standard was
- 43:38Speaker 1: too high. And it basically got to, are you high
- 43:40Speaker 1: right now? Because this is what happens when you need
- 43:44Speaker 1: to build up the staff of an organization very quickly.
- 43:47Speaker 1: You cannot really have standards. Now, this gentleman that shot
- 43:50Speaker 1: this woman in Minnesota, I don't know how long he's
- 43:52Speaker 1: been there. I mean, for all I know, He is
- 43:54Speaker 1: a decorated police officer somewhere else and then wound up here.
- 43:57Speaker 1: If I had to guess, that's probably not the case, right?
- 44:02Speaker 1: So what we have is a force that has a
- 44:04Speaker 1: lot of not actual law enforcement officers, right?
- 44:09Speaker 4: Substitute teachers at best.
- 44:11Speaker 3: Yes, yes.
- 44:12Speaker 2: Newbies, like volunteers, whatever it is, right? But these are not.
- 44:17Speaker 1: This ain't our best that's out here, okay? So you're
- 44:21Speaker 1: taking these people... And again, I'll let you make your
- 44:25Speaker 1: own conclusions about what happened with the shooting itself. What
- 44:28Speaker 1: I will point out, though, is that the dude the
- 44:31Speaker 1: whole way was filming it himself with his own cell phone, okay?
- 44:37Speaker 1: And when it came time to shoot the woman, passes
- 44:40Speaker 1: the cell phone from one hand to the other hand
- 44:43Speaker 1: so he can use his trigger hand to shoot into
- 44:45Speaker 1: the woman's car and then.
- 44:47Speaker 2: Calls her a bitch after it's said and done, okay?
- 44:52Speaker 1: The reason that this cat is filming this, this isn't
- 44:55Speaker 1: a body cam that I'm talking about, right?
- 44:57Speaker 4: Or the dash cam on the car or something like that.
- 44:59Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Or something that exists.
- 45:01Speaker 4: He opted into filming this video.
- 45:02Speaker 1: Yeah, something that exists to document, right? Something that exists
- 45:06Speaker 1: in case something like this happens.
- 45:09Speaker 2: No, man, they out here making content. You see how crazy,
- 45:13Speaker 2: you want to see how crazy that is?
- 45:15Speaker 1: Like this is, this is like, if there's any reflection
- 45:19Speaker 1: of the madness of the world that we live in
- 45:22Speaker 1: right now, is that somebody's out here making content and
- 45:27Speaker 1: did not think to himself, hey, I maybe shouldn't shoot
- 45:31Speaker 1: somebody right now because I'm taking a video of it.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Not just somebody might be taking a video of it.
- 45:38Speaker 1: You never know if somebody's looking, I'm taking a video
- 45:41Speaker 1: of it.
- 45:42Speaker 2: And still shot this woman.
- 45:46Speaker 3: What?
- 45:48Speaker 1: Like, what exactly is it that we're doing? And so
- 45:55Speaker 1: you can send more agents up there because it is
- 45:57Speaker 1: getting kind of cracking, right?
- 45:58Speaker 2: Like this is, I mean, they're big.
- 46:00Speaker 4: That's what happens when a situation gets escalated. Yeah. Yeah,
- 46:04Speaker 4: you know, you know. It's kind of a situation of
- 46:09Speaker 4: our own making, but yes, it is an escalating situation.
- 46:11Speaker 2: Okay, but think about this too.
- 46:12Speaker 1: This is the third high-profile shooting that I can think
- 46:15Speaker 1: of that has happened in Minnesota in the last, I
- 46:18Speaker 1: guess we'll call it 10 years or so. Or not shooting,
- 46:23Speaker 1: police violence situation. I don't know the word.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Officer involved, is that how they put it?
- 46:27Speaker 3: Yes.
- 46:27Speaker 2: One of them obviously is George.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Floyd, right? This one is this one. But the first one,
- 46:36Speaker 1: I don't know if people realize this, you know, the
- 46:39Speaker 1: police don't never get in trouble for shooting people, okay?
- 46:44Speaker 1: I believe at the time that there had been, there's
- 46:48Speaker 1: been one incident in the state of Minnesota where a
- 46:50Speaker 1: police officer had, I don't remember if it was brought
- 46:55Speaker 1: under indictment, conviction, whatever it is, for shooting a civilian.
- 46:59Speaker 1: And it was this one, and it was when it
- 47:01Speaker 1: was a Somali police officer, okay? And a woman walked
- 47:07Speaker 1: around to his side of the car. And he turned
- 47:11Speaker 1: and shot her.
- 47:13Speaker 3: Okay?
- 47:13Speaker 1: And they got him for that one. Now, I've been
- 47:16Speaker 1: paying attention to people getting shot by the police all
- 47:18Speaker 1: the time along with living a life where I'm trying
- 47:21Speaker 1: not to get shot by the police. That sort of situation,
- 47:25Speaker 1: I guarantee you if it's me, ain't nobody getting indicted.
- 47:28Speaker 3: Okay?
- 47:29Speaker 2: You walked up over that man's shoulder. He feared for
- 47:32Speaker 2: his life.
- 47:33Speaker 7: Right?
- 47:34Speaker 2: Turned and shot.
- 47:36Speaker 1: That's this situation to me, Ryan, is like it was
- 47:40Speaker 1: a white woman. Important to note. So this situation is
- 47:44Speaker 1: like the in-between of the two.
- 47:45Speaker 4: Right.
- 47:46Speaker 1: It looks fairly indefensible, but also has a combination of that.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Maybe you shouldn't do that thing that people easily jump on.
- 47:54Speaker 1: I'm not saying that's true. I'm just saying that's the
- 47:55Speaker 1: thing that people easily jump on. But it's also a
- 47:58Speaker 1: white woman who wound up getting shot. So like somebody
- 48:01Speaker 1: who doesn't necessarily fit the profile, who gets shot by
- 48:03Speaker 1: the police when people start shrugging their shoulders.
- 48:05Speaker 5: Right.
- 48:07Speaker 2: That whole jumbled mess of things.
- 48:09Speaker 1: I doubt that there's going to be any punishment that's
- 48:12Speaker 1: laid down, especially because the FBI say that they want
- 48:14Speaker 1: to look into it. And that seems potentially self-serving, I
- 48:19Speaker 1: think is the fairest way to put what that might be.
- 48:22Speaker 1: But bottom line is we are at a place in
- 48:26Speaker 1: our society, in this society, where somebody will shoot you
- 48:32Speaker 1: while making a video of it. and not think twice
- 48:37Speaker 1: about putting down the fucking phone.
- 48:41Speaker 4: All right, Bo, get the voicemails. Time to read back
- 48:48Speaker 4: a show favorite.
- 48:50Speaker 3: What's up?
- 48:50Speaker 4: What's up?
- 48:51Speaker 8: Happy New Year to everyone. This is DJ Mike Hitman.
- 48:55Speaker 8: I got the D's. I got to tell y'all, 25
- 48:57Speaker 8: is over. 2026 is here. It's a new year. I
- 48:59Speaker 8: got the D's.
- 49:00Speaker 5: I want to say, I want the man.
- 49:05Speaker 8: To be man. The three things I need y'all to
- 49:07Speaker 8: do first, get out your mama house. You got to
- 49:11Speaker 8: get out your mama house. Get out the basement, pay
- 49:13Speaker 8: your own bill.
- 49:14Speaker 7: You should have your own car and you should have
- 49:17Speaker 7: your own apartment because if you.
- 49:19Speaker 8: Don't have your own apartment, a woman can't put you out.
- 49:22Speaker 8: You could go to your own place. That's the problem, man.
- 49:25Speaker 8: You're living with these women that put you out. It's
- 49:27Speaker 8: time for you to be man.
- 49:28Speaker 1: Man.
- 49:30Speaker 8: You got to get out of them damn jerseys. You
- 49:32Speaker 8: ain't Roger Staubach. You ain't Drew Pearce. And you ain't Tom.
- 49:35Speaker 7: Landry walking around with them damn jerseys.
- 49:38Speaker 8: Get out of them damn jerseys. You don't play football.
- 49:40Speaker 8: Be a man. Get a shirt and a tag. Get
- 49:42Speaker 8: a job.
- 49:43Speaker 3: Okay?
- 49:44Speaker 7: I need all you men to go get, if you
- 49:46Speaker 7: don't know how to fix nothing, if not a damn thing,
- 49:49Speaker 7: go get a hammer, a screwdriver, a plier.
- 49:52Speaker 8: Keep it around the house. Make it seem like you
- 49:54Speaker 8: know how to do something. Because if you don't, I'm
- 49:57Speaker 8: going to be the maintenance man coming over there Hello,
- 50:00Speaker 8: what do you need fixed? Okay, get the tools in
- 50:03Speaker 8: the house, guys.
- 50:04Speaker 7: It's 2026.
- 50:05Speaker 8: Play like you know how to fix something.
- 50:08Speaker 7: This is what you got to have, guys. Have your
- 50:10Speaker 7: own car. Have your own place. Have your own money.
- 50:15Speaker 1: You know why?
- 50:15Speaker 7: Because if you got your own car, you can drive places.
- 50:18Speaker 8: Nobody got to take you.
- 50:20Speaker 7: You got your own house or your apartment, you don't
- 50:23Speaker 7: have to be worried to get put out.
- 50:25Speaker 8: Because you're in our house, you say get out, you
- 50:26Speaker 8: got somewhere to go and sleep. If you got your
- 50:29Speaker 8: own money.
- 50:30Speaker 7: You don't have to go to White Council. You can
- 50:32Speaker 7: go to Red Lobster. You can go to Binigan.
- 50:35Speaker 8: You can go to Michael Jordan because you're making your
- 50:37Speaker 8: own money. Quit depending on these women.
- 50:40Speaker 7: Women are good when you walk with them, talk with them,
- 50:43Speaker 7: hold them. That's what all they do. Other things than that,
- 50:47Speaker 7: you don't need a woman for everything. I need a
- 50:50Speaker 7: woman because she cook greens.
- 50:55Speaker 3: Dang.
- 50:57Speaker 2: True gay.
- 50:57Speaker 4: That is the abridged version.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Yes, that is true gay.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Mike here with me right now asking what time is going.
- 51:07Speaker 2: To run. That's what that text was about, right?
- 51:09Speaker 4: Okay, I was very confused. All right, let's get to
- 51:12Speaker 4: our next one.
- 51:13Speaker 3: Hey, Bo. It's E from the DMV. I got an
- 51:17Speaker 3: FCS football question. So Montana State just won national championship.
- 51:22Speaker 3: And we know North Dakota State is a superpower at
- 51:25Speaker 3: this level. But what is the glitch in the matrix
- 51:29Speaker 3: out there that those schools have found to be so
- 51:33Speaker 3: powerful every year? Because both the Montana schools seem to
- 51:36Speaker 3: be good every year. South Dakota State's a championship-level team
- 51:41Speaker 3: as well. What is happening out there on the frontier
- 51:44Speaker 3: that they get all these Cooper-Dejean dream teams and are
- 51:47Speaker 3: beating everybody else up? I know those schools are the
- 51:51Speaker 3: only shows in town in those states, but everybody has
- 51:54Speaker 3: nice facilities now. How are they getting players or coaches
- 51:58Speaker 3: and destroying everybody? Thanks, man. Talk to you later.
- 52:01Speaker 1: All right, so I think there are a couple things here.
- 52:04Speaker 1: We are stretching the extent of my powers, but I'm
- 52:06Speaker 1: going to go for this, right? Number one is we
- 52:09Speaker 1: talked about with Coop Jean, who's from South Dakota. Can't
- 52:13Speaker 1: nobody tell you you can't play corner out there because it's.
- 52:16Speaker 2: Only y'all playing corner. You see what I'm saying?
- 52:19Speaker 1: Like, you got to rise up in a different sort
- 52:23Speaker 1: of way because there's nobody to trample your self-esteem and
- 52:26Speaker 1: tell you that you're not good enough, right? Like, yo,
- 52:29Speaker 1: I've said this many times. All them super cold white boys, man,
- 52:33Speaker 1: they tend to be places super cold and full of
- 52:37Speaker 1: white boys, right? That's a big part of it. Number two,
- 52:42Speaker 1: I'm going to just throw this out here for you.
- 52:47Speaker 1: If a brother want it so bad that he going
- 52:49Speaker 1: to go to Montana to get it, he ain't going
- 52:51Speaker 1: out there to fuck around.
- 52:53Speaker 2: You understand what I'm saying?
- 52:56Speaker 1: Like, if you want it so bad that you willing
- 52:58Speaker 1: to go out there, you mean fitness with a D.
- 53:02Speaker 1: So I imagine that you get some like cold beast
- 53:05Speaker 1: on that front, right?
- 53:06Speaker 2: Or, you know, a lot of can't go back all stars.
- 53:09Speaker 1: Now you got to go all the way out there
- 53:11Speaker 1: to Minnesota and Montana to make it happen.
- 53:13Speaker 2: It's going to be that. And then there's number three.
- 53:16Speaker 1: This is the part that gets forgotten, okay? Montana football
- 53:22Speaker 1: may not be a big deal to you, but Montana
- 53:25Speaker 1: football is a big deal in Montana, right? There are
- 53:30Speaker 1: people at Montana and Montana State who really, really care
- 53:33Speaker 1: about the football. And some of them may not got
- 53:36Speaker 1: all the bread, but they got some bread, right?
- 53:39Speaker 2: They got a little money.
- 53:41Speaker 1: The forces of competition are still going to be there.
- 53:43Speaker 1: They got a level at which they can be good.
- 53:45Speaker 1: And once they decide they're going to be good, they're
- 53:47Speaker 1: going to invest in what level of being good they
- 53:51Speaker 1: can wind up getting.
- 53:53Speaker 2: It's catch cheating in Juco, baby.
- 53:55Speaker 4: People in this country love football everywhere. All sorts of
- 53:59Speaker 4: football at every level. People love football.
- 54:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:02Speaker 1: And if you set it up in such a way
- 54:04Speaker 1: where the state is just big enough to have two teams,
- 54:07Speaker 1: even if it's just two teams that play on the
- 54:09Speaker 1: same level, Okay, now the economics of it comes into play.
- 54:13Speaker 1: Now they battling, you see what I'm saying? And now
- 54:16Speaker 1: it goes, right? You know, and then, you know, there's
- 54:19Speaker 1: the other part, man. So all the white boys up
- 54:23Speaker 1: in ways, from what I've seen on the internet and
- 54:26Speaker 1: in documentaries.
- 54:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I've seen Yellowstone. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They
- 54:30Speaker 4: get real mad up there.
- 54:31Speaker 1: Y'all are not here for being tread upon. Is that
- 54:34Speaker 1: how they put it?
- 54:35Speaker 4: I believe that is what that has been co-opted to make.
- 54:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, buddy. And I tell you this, too.
- 54:40Speaker 1: You better not try to carjack none of them. Oh, no.
- 54:43Speaker 2: They ready.
- 54:45Speaker 4: All right, we got two more.
- 54:47Speaker 3: Hi, Bo.
- 54:47Speaker 5: This is Doug from Tokyo. Long time person. I wanted
- 54:51Speaker 5: to call about that throwback Tuesday.
- 54:53Speaker 3: The USC-Texas game.
- 54:56Speaker 5: I am an Oregon alum. I was in school for
- 54:59Speaker 5: that 2005 season, and of course the Pac-10 had the
- 55:01Speaker 5: perfect round robin series at that time, so we played USC.
- 55:06Speaker 4: That was a huge game.
- 55:07Speaker 5: Students had to line up for tickets, and it was
- 55:10Speaker 5: a mile long, so that was dropped on Tuesday or
- 55:13Speaker 5: Wednesday that week. And then we got our doors blown off, 45-13.
- 55:18Speaker 5: and sending from the student section, seeing Reggie Bush in
- 55:21Speaker 5: person was not fair. 2005, for the younger viewers, was
- 55:26Speaker 5: also when YouTube came out, and one of the first
- 55:29Speaker 5: things we went to see on YouTube was the Reggie.
- 55:31Speaker 4: Bush high school highlights. I think those are probably.
- 55:34Speaker 5: Still up, and those are still a treat. But as
- 55:36Speaker 5: an Oregon fan, seeing Reggie Bush play in person, and
- 55:39Speaker 5: then the next year seeing Adrian Peterson, members of boys
- 55:43Speaker 5: in the college game at a university that's supposed to
- 55:46Speaker 5: be injecting all this money into the Completely unfair.
- 55:50Speaker 4: We did have a squad in 2005. We went 10-1.
- 55:52Speaker 5: Actually, 10-2 with the offseason and lost to both Reggie
- 55:56Speaker 5: Bush and Adrian Peterson. I guess that's how it goes.
- 55:59Speaker 8: Thanks.
- 56:00Speaker 5: Love the show.
- 56:02Speaker 2: Yeah, boy. Like, that was the thing. He said it
- 56:05Speaker 2: before I could. That Oregon team was actually pretty good.
- 56:08Speaker 4: I mean, those early, you know, mid-2000s Oregon teams.
- 56:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 56:13Speaker 4: I mean, they should have won the national title in 07.
- 56:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, until Dennis Dixon got hurt. Yeah.
- 56:18Speaker 5: Um.
- 56:18Speaker 2: But he also brought up something, and that was real.
- 56:21Speaker 2: There was the Reggie White YouTube take.
- 56:24Speaker 4: Reggie Bush.
- 56:25Speaker 1: Reggie Bush, big difference.
- 56:29Speaker 2: Although, can you imagine if there was a high school
- 56:31Speaker 2: Reggie White take?
- 56:32Speaker 3: No.
- 56:33Speaker 1: But there was also the Noel Devine take, which came
- 56:36Speaker 1: out around a similar time, and that was comedy.
- 56:40Speaker 2: Like, literal comedy.
- 56:41Speaker 1: It was like watching iJob off of, whatchamacallit, James Bond.
- 56:47Speaker 1: In a good way, though.
- 56:48Speaker 4: Yeah. All right, Bo, here's our last one.
- 56:52Speaker 6: Hey, Bo Money.
- 56:53Speaker 3: This is Will from Oklahoma City.
- 56:54Speaker 6: I was just calling. So one of my favorite bits
- 57:00Speaker 6: on the show is, say, people whose names may not
- 57:05Speaker 6: match exactly what you're expecting. So, for example, like Federal
- 57:11Speaker 6: Reserve Chair Jerome Powell would be one. But I want
- 57:15Speaker 6: to make a submission. I found a new one the
- 57:17Speaker 6: other night. So, uh, I'm pretty plugged in with the
- 57:22Speaker 6: NBA and I'd heard this name floating around during like,
- 57:25Speaker 6: I don't know, I guess whenever this dude got drafted
- 57:27Speaker 6: or just here and there. Um, but I'm watching the
- 57:31Speaker 6: Thunder Jazz the other night. And, uh, this is the
- 57:35Speaker 6: first time I'd ever seen Bryce Sinsabaugh. Um, and, uh,
- 57:43Speaker 6: that was not what I expected. I love the show.
- 57:47Speaker 6: Keep up the good work. Also, shout out White Monty.
- 57:49Speaker 6: I got an uncle that's White Monty.
- 57:51Speaker 3: Bye.
- 57:53Speaker 1: Actually, I got to say, Bryce Sensabaugh is checking in
- 57:56Speaker 1: exactly as I thought.
- 57:57Speaker 4: Really?
- 57:57Speaker 1: Because every Sensabaugh I've ever heard of is a professional athlete,
- 58:01Speaker 1: and they are black. There was one that played in
- 58:02Speaker 1: the NFL and went to Carolina named Gerald Sensabaugh. He
- 58:05Speaker 1: is good friends with my buddy Michael Felder, and I'm
- 58:08Speaker 1: just here to tell you there's no question about where
- 58:11Speaker 1: Gerald Sensabaugh falls in line.
- 58:13Speaker 2: Also, I feel like we have taken Bryce.
- 58:15Speaker 4: You have taken– I mean, that might be a two
- 58:18Speaker 4: Americas taking Bryce.
- 58:19Speaker 2: Ah, you got a good point. You got a good point.
- 58:22Speaker 2: You know what? He's Bryce with an I and not
- 58:23Speaker 2: a Y.
- 58:24Speaker 4: That's a good counter.
- 58:25Speaker 1: So I can see it. But yeah, the sense of ball,
- 58:28Speaker 1: I can see being ours. By the way, I meant
- 58:30Speaker 1: to bring up white Jerome Powell.
- 58:32Speaker 2: Yeah, in the news. Yeah, in the news.
- 58:34Speaker 1: Because word on the street is that Trump is trying
- 58:38Speaker 1: to put this man under... He's the chairman of the
- 58:40Speaker 1: Federal Reserve. And he's not even trying to put him
- 58:41Speaker 1: under indictment for actually stealing money. It's for a renovation
- 58:44Speaker 1: of a building, right?
- 58:46Speaker 3: Which.
- 58:46Speaker 4: is ironic, also given, you know.
- 58:48Speaker 2: That's a great point. Like, anytime something like that.
- 58:51Speaker 1: Happens, I'm like, does Trump remember that Jerome Powell is
- 58:56Speaker 1: who he is, right? Or is he assuming it's another Jerome,
- 59:00Speaker 1: and therefore he's just going with the standard playbook, except
- 59:02Speaker 1: Trump be trying to throw white people in jail, too.
- 59:04Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
- 59:06Speaker 1: He's the guy that's like, I'm not racist. I just
- 59:09Speaker 1: hate people. But hey, ladies and gentlemen, thanks so much
- 59:15Speaker 1: for joining us here on The Right Time. We do
- 59:17Speaker 1: this four days a week. Ryan Brumley handles everything behind
