- 2:23Speaker 2: quick reads. So I have been posting them, posting little

- 2:45Speaker 2: let's just say the book cuts close to home for
- 2:51Speaker 2: this author, and I'm gonna let her explain that to you. Okay,
- 2:56Speaker 2: she has this wonderful book that is called The Inherences
- 3:01Speaker 2: of Amaya Montgomery. Okay, there's this young astis right, So
- 3:09Speaker 2: you know we all got an issue with insecurities and
- 3:12Speaker 2: stuff like that, Well she does too, and she finds
- 3:16Speaker 2: herself with this nice, charming husband of hers. But remember
- 3:24Speaker 2: everything that glitter and go. So all you're gonna say
- 3:28Speaker 2: is things start to deteriorate very quickly. But I'm not
- 3:33Speaker 2: gonna tell you much more because I'm gonna let you'll
- 3:35Speaker 2: hear from the author herself. You guys, welcome author Jeletta.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Oh, I know.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I was gonna I told you I was gonna stay
- 3:44Speaker 2: it wrong. Love you welcome, Welcome, How are you this evening?
- 3:56Speaker 3: Oh? Well, happy to be here? How are you? Oh?
- 4:00Speaker 2: I am wonderful with this seventy five degree whether hinch Austin. Yeah,
- 4:08Speaker 2: I know, Turke, You're gonna have him on a baby suit.
- 4:10Speaker 2: That's what I'm talking about.
- 4:15Speaker 3: I heard that.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Oh before we get into your book, can you tell
- 4:20Speaker 2: us a little bit about yourself?
- 4:22Speaker 3: Okay, So I'm Jiletta Shavers. I am a licensed clinical
- 4:29Speaker 3: social worker, and I am a mother of three. I
- 4:35Speaker 3: have a thirty three year old daughter, a twenty three
- 4:39Speaker 3: year old daughter, and surprise, surprise, when I'm forty but
- 4:43Speaker 3: I turned forty one, i got pregnant and I have
- 4:47Speaker 3: a twelve year old son. So every decade I had
- 4:50Speaker 3: a baby. And of course I am an author. I've
- 4:56Speaker 3: been writing most of my life since I was a
- 5:00Speaker 3: little girl. But I decided that I wanted to publish
- 5:05Speaker 3: her Two years ago. I decided, Hey, I want to
- 5:08Speaker 3: publish a book. And I reached out to a couple
- 5:12Speaker 3: of people that I knew had published books and just
- 5:16Speaker 3: asked them some questions. They were very gracious and kind
- 5:20Speaker 3: and you know, to help me along the way. Along
- 5:23Speaker 3: along the way. I have a good friend. Her name
- 5:26Speaker 3: is Latanya Bennett. She's never published a book, but she
- 5:31Speaker 3: provided great insight with marketing and who to reach out
- 5:36Speaker 3: to and different things like that.
- 5:39Speaker 2: And so yeah, wow, you know a lot of people
- 5:45Speaker 2: come on and they say that they started writing when
- 5:48Speaker 2: they were young, Like, what made you want to write
- 5:55Speaker 2: when you were young?
- 5:57Speaker 3: Well, when I was younger. I'm fit before. So when
- 6:01Speaker 3: I was younger, we didn't have cable. We had four
- 6:04Speaker 3: sevent eleven and PBS, so I was watching soap operas
- 6:12Speaker 3: during the day, even school was out. But in the
- 6:15Speaker 3: evening time there was really nothing for me to watch
- 6:18Speaker 3: on the weekends. I've never really been a cartoon person,
- 6:22Speaker 3: so there's never really anything to really watch on TV.
- 6:26Speaker 3: So I wrote, I wrote, and back then I was
- 6:32Speaker 3: writing the way I wanted life to be. I love
- 6:37Speaker 3: the father who raised me, he is my dad. But
- 6:43Speaker 3: when I was younger, I craved to get to know
- 6:47Speaker 3: my biological father. My mother and grandparents they kept him
- 6:54Speaker 3: away from me for whatever reason they had, and I
- 6:59Speaker 3: would write about meeting him being I'm being a princess
- 7:04Speaker 3: and he was a king, and I'm going to live
- 7:08Speaker 3: in a castle, all that fairy tale stuff. Then when
- 7:11Speaker 3: I became when I gotten older, I started reading. Oh
- 7:18Speaker 3: so embarrassed to say this. When I was like twelve thirteen,
- 7:22Speaker 3: I was reading like Edgar at Edgar Allan Poe's like
- 7:27Speaker 3: The Telltale Hard and the House of Usher. I was
- 7:32Speaker 3: reading those and Stephen King. As I. As I've gotten older,
- 7:38Speaker 3: I started reading like Carrie Street. No, I'm wrong. I
- 7:42Speaker 3: actually saw the movie Carrie first, and I went back
- 7:45Speaker 3: and reading the book. But yeah, pet Cemetery the Shining.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Even at a young age, I've always liked horror and
- 7:57Speaker 3: suspense and thriller and like The Exorcist. It didn't scare me.
- 8:02Speaker 3: I was I was a weird kid. It didn't scare me.
- 8:05Speaker 3: What scared me they have scared me now is real
- 8:08Speaker 3: life stuff. It's real, you know. Yeah.
- 8:16Speaker 2: I couldn't do the existem that that was.
- 8:19Speaker 3: You couldn't do that.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I couldn't do the system. I love Carrie. My favorite
- 8:26Speaker 2: was Kojo.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Oh it cooled you? I read cold, Yes, I read cool.
- 8:31Speaker 3: I never saw the movie Cool Joe. Believe it or not,
- 8:33Speaker 3: I never saw the movie. But yes, oh my.
- 8:36Speaker 2: God, No, you gotta look at the movie.
- 8:40Speaker 3: That was a good one.
- 8:42Speaker 2: They're coming up with a remake. I don't know while
- 8:47Speaker 2: they Yep, it's supposed to be coming out next year.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Summer of next year. They're doing a whole nother remakelio
- 8:58Speaker 2: be that dog alone. Okay, so but listen, I say this,
- 9:05Speaker 2: and I say this to you, never be ashamed of
- 9:09Speaker 2: what you read. I had a director whose name is Nicole,
- 9:14Speaker 2: and lord, I wish she was still with us, but
- 9:18Speaker 2: she's at a different library system. And I was so embarrassed.
- 9:23Speaker 2: I was working in children's and I was just helping
- 9:26Speaker 2: them out that morning and I used to wear headphones
- 9:30Speaker 2: are listening to books. And she said, what are you
- 9:33Speaker 2: listening too? And I was like. She looked at me
- 9:36Speaker 2: and she said, you never be ashamed of what you
- 9:38Speaker 2: will listen to or what you read. She says, what
- 9:41Speaker 2: you do. And the book was named Choked Me, spanked me,
- 9:44Speaker 2: pull my haird.
- 9:45Speaker 3: So I love it. I love it.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I said it to her. She said, oh okay, and
- 9:55Speaker 2: she walked up. So never feel embarrassed what you read.
- 10:00Speaker 2: It's what you love. It is your comforts. Nobody should
- 10:04Speaker 2: be able to tell you what to read. Okay, So
- 10:08Speaker 2: this book you have. First, let's talk about the cover. Okay.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Tell us a little bit of your vision for your
- 10:23Speaker 2: cover and why did you choose it.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Okay. So the vision that I gave j R. Mason,
- 10:34Speaker 3: who did the cover, I just wanted a mansion and
- 10:40Speaker 3: I wanted a man to be looking at the women
- 10:44Speaker 3: the window. And it to look ominous, and the lady
- 10:50Speaker 3: she's I wanted you to see the back of her
- 10:53Speaker 3: walking toward the house because I wanted you to wonder
- 10:58Speaker 3: if she's excited about walking toward the house, is she
- 11:02Speaker 3: nervous about walking toward the house. How is she feeling
- 11:06Speaker 3: about walking toward the house. So that's why I want
- 11:08Speaker 3: you to see the back of her. So but yeah,
- 11:10Speaker 3: so since she's rich, I want to be a mansion,
- 11:14Speaker 3: and since her husband is charming, but remember he's gaslighting her.
- 11:23Speaker 3: He's not a good person. So I want that ominous feeling.
- 11:29Speaker 3: And she exactly what I asked her to do.
- 11:35Speaker 2: And the great thing about it, this is why I
- 11:37Speaker 2: love the offense to tell us about their covers, because
- 11:39Speaker 2: there are meanings to their covers which we would never know.
- 11:44Speaker 2: And to look at that, I am now just seeing
- 11:47Speaker 2: dudes sitting up in the window, and really, you just
- 11:51Speaker 2: not noticing that I am just seeing dude sitting there
- 11:54Speaker 2: and I'm pointing like he's I'm just now seeing dude.
- 11:58Speaker 3: In the windows waiting for her to come home? Or
- 12:04Speaker 3: is he waiting for her to come home? Yeah? What
- 12:07Speaker 3: is it? Yes?
- 12:08Speaker 4: So, so tell us a little bit about the book now, Okay,
- 12:15Speaker 4: So why don't I tell you a little bit about
- 12:18Speaker 4: without giving any spoilers.
- 12:21Speaker 3: So I'm bad about spoilers. Uh So the book is
- 12:28Speaker 3: loosely based on me. This this fiction, but it's lucy
- 12:37Speaker 3: based on my life. Amaya. She struggles with anxiety. I
- 12:43Speaker 3: struggle with anxiety as well, not to the magnitude that
- 12:49Speaker 3: Amaya struggles with it. So everything is exaggerated in the book,
- 12:54Speaker 3: you know, for the reader's pleasure. And Amaya she was
- 13:01Speaker 3: lonely growing up. She was with her mother and her father.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Her mother and father were both on heroin. My parents
- 13:12Speaker 3: were not on heroin, not no mes at all. They
- 13:15Speaker 3: were not on heroin. But her parents were on heroin.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Her mother was physically and emotionally abusive to her. So
- 13:24Speaker 3: some things happened and she ended up living with her grandparents.
- 13:29Speaker 3: And she had trust issues because she was bullied growing up.
- 13:38Speaker 3: So with me, I had trust issues. In school, I
- 13:45Speaker 3: was bullied because the school I went to it was
- 13:50Speaker 3: very few darker skinned children there. It was only a
- 13:54Speaker 3: few of us, so I was bullied for being darker skinned.
- 13:58Speaker 3: I developed early, so I had breast when I was
- 14:02Speaker 3: nine adriere and I was pigeon told so yes, so yeah,
- 14:12Speaker 3: being dar skinned, developed butt sticking out and walking pigeon tod.
- 14:18Speaker 3: So with that, Amaya and I can relate with Amaya.
- 14:26Speaker 3: I moved in with my grandma. I was given to
- 14:29Speaker 3: my grandparents when I was an infant, so and I
- 14:32Speaker 3: always longed to want to stay with my mother. And
- 14:37Speaker 3: my mother and I we did not have a best
- 14:42Speaker 3: of a relationship, but I moved in with her when
- 14:46Speaker 3: I was thirteen. And my mother now has advanced dementia.
- 14:52Speaker 3: So I started writing The Inherits of Amaya Montgomery as
- 14:57Speaker 3: a therapeutic tool for me as a mental health therapist.
- 15:02Speaker 3: I like to tell my clients, you can write your
- 15:04Speaker 3: own story and write yourself a happy ending. So I
- 15:08Speaker 3: wrote my own story, and I wrote myself a happy
- 15:11Speaker 3: ending for Amaya and her mother, since I won't get
- 15:16Speaker 3: the happy ending I want with my mom with advanced
- 15:19Speaker 3: de Mitchell. But about the book. Amaya parents grandparents. They
- 15:27Speaker 3: were very wealthy and they died when she was eighteen,
- 15:34Speaker 3: and when she turned thirty she was going to get
- 15:39Speaker 3: multimillions of dollars. Her husband married her in college because
- 15:45Speaker 3: he had a plan from college until she turned twenty
- 15:49Speaker 3: nine that he was planning on gaslighting her to have
- 15:53Speaker 3: power of attorney over her and her money. And when
- 15:56Speaker 3: he gaslight her, he gassed light I'm gonna give you
- 16:00Speaker 3: one spoiler. He gas likes her in this one scene
- 16:07Speaker 3: where he actually has uh. He pays for a technician
- 16:14Speaker 3: to come and to rig up the house and he
- 16:19Speaker 3: has it where she's seeing her grandparents as ghosts, but
- 16:25Speaker 3: they don't look like ghosts. They look real and they're
- 16:31Speaker 3: talking to her. And that's just one thing, and it's
- 16:36Speaker 3: more to that. I just don't want to give everything away.
- 16:39Speaker 3: But that's how far he will go. And he's done
- 16:43Speaker 3: some crazy things and he will kill anyone that gets
- 16:48Speaker 3: in his way. So yeah, it's gas lighting on hydraulics,
- 16:55Speaker 3: is what I call it.
- 16:58Speaker 2: You telling me this man was crazy enough to pay
- 17:05Speaker 2: someone to do images of her grandparents so that he can.
- 17:17Speaker 5: Mm hm.
- 17:18Speaker 2: So let me ask you a question.
- 17:21Speaker 5: Okay, you have a very powerful thoughts patterned. Oh, come
- 17:32Speaker 5: up with that?
- 17:34Speaker 3: Oh, I have a vivid imagination, a vivid imagination, and
- 17:40Speaker 3: I learned that when I was a child. I don't
- 17:45Speaker 3: know if those thingsons popped in my head. Yeah, I'm
- 17:50Speaker 3: a mental health therapist and these these crazy things locked up.
- 17:54Speaker 6: In mind, but yeah, yeah, like what what? And there's
- 18:03Speaker 6: twists after this, plot twist after plot twist in this book.
- 18:08Speaker 2: So how did you keep up with your plot twists?
- 18:13Speaker 2: Did you use like a writing journal or you just
- 18:16Speaker 2: let it flow? Like?
- 18:17Speaker 3: So, how did you keep up with every day it
- 18:20Speaker 3: was coming? Things come to me when I'm in my shower.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Things come to me if I'm watching TV and I
- 18:28Speaker 3: would just pick up my phone and I would just
- 18:31Speaker 3: text it to myself whatever whatever. Like the scene I
- 18:36Speaker 3: was getting ready. I don't want to give this one away,
- 18:39Speaker 3: but there's one really intense scene and it's really really intense,
- 18:48Speaker 3: and I was just thinking about her. The character is Sandra.
- 18:53Speaker 3: She's the housekeeper, but she was also Amaya's confidante and
- 19:02Speaker 3: she knew Quentin wasn't right, so something happened to her
- 19:09Speaker 3: and it's pretty wild. It's pretty wild, and I just
- 19:14Speaker 3: thought about that and then I just started typing in
- 19:17Speaker 3: my phone and then it was so much coming. I
- 19:20Speaker 3: end up getting my laptop out and I end up
- 19:23Speaker 3: typing that scene, that entire scene. So sometimes these just
- 19:26Speaker 3: come to me. I do start out with an outline,
- 19:31Speaker 3: but then I end up being a pants so so.
- 19:39Speaker 2: How do you are you an author where your characters
- 19:43Speaker 2: talk to you or you like, how do you get
- 19:48Speaker 2: your characters to interact?
- 19:50Speaker 3: And see? This is the thing I hear people say,
- 19:54Speaker 3: the characters talk to them. I guess I haven't built
- 19:58Speaker 3: that ability yet. What I do is I see my
- 20:03Speaker 3: characters like in a movie. I vividly see my characters.
- 20:07Speaker 3: I can visualize them, and it plays in my mind
- 20:11Speaker 3: like a movie, and I'm basically putting them in place,
- 20:17Speaker 3: and as the movie is going, I'm visualizing how they
- 20:21Speaker 3: will react to what the other person is saying or
- 20:25Speaker 3: the environment. So yes, I'm ready for the character to
- 20:28Speaker 3: start talking to me. You know, I have some author
- 20:31Speaker 3: friends that say that they're not gonna write until the
- 20:35Speaker 3: characters start talking to them, so I hadn't.
- 20:41Speaker 2: I am so glad you talk by characters and watching
- 20:46Speaker 2: the movie in your mind, because remember behind the scenes,
- 20:51Speaker 2: I told you about those fun questions. I hope you ready.
- 20:57Speaker 2: It's just time for them, right, Okay, Oh no, don't.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Get nervous on me now, because you're halfway there.
- 21:07Speaker 2: You are halfway there.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Okay, all right, I'm Maya Amaya.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Who would play her?
- 21:18Speaker 3: But oh it's a catch.
- 21:22Speaker 2: A cat the catches. It has to be an eighties
- 21:28Speaker 2: R and B artist.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Oh, eighties R and B artists. Okay, okay, I'm shot
- 21:37Speaker 3: to con I love Oh no, no, I'm gonna take
- 21:43Speaker 3: it back. Tina Turner because I was born in every Okay,
- 21:50Speaker 3: So we end it up on top. So yes, I
- 21:52Speaker 3: would say Tina Turner.
- 21:55Speaker 2: So we got Tina before she discovered Tina or Tina
- 22:00Speaker 2: after she and I beat the nothing out of Ike? Tina,
- 22:03Speaker 2: which Tina.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Don't the brights oft of Ike? All right? All right?
- 22:09Speaker 2: So and now now we have your male character. What's
- 22:14Speaker 2: this theme again?
- 22:16Speaker 3: Quentin?
- 22:18Speaker 2: Who would play Quentin? But he has to be an
- 22:23Speaker 2: eighties movie star?
- 22:31Speaker 3: Hm mm hmmm. I love Denzel. I wouldn't put Denzel
- 22:37Speaker 3: in Quinn because Quinn is a horrible person. Let's seem, oh, well,
- 22:53Speaker 3: this person's not a movie star though, but he's been
- 22:55Speaker 3: in movies.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Who would it be?
- 22:58Speaker 3: Is it mcguel? He was in a show called Sparts.
- 23:04Speaker 3: He plays on Carl Weber's family business. I think his
- 23:10Speaker 3: name is Miguel.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Do this?
- 23:12Speaker 3: I think?
- 23:17Speaker 2: All right, y'all know me, y'all know, I'm gonna go look.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Yeah, he played and he was the son the man
- 23:25Speaker 3: that played on Fresh Press of bel Air, the Dad
- 23:31Speaker 3: upper Field. He had two sons, Terrence Howard and the
- 23:37Speaker 3: other man, Miguel. I think it's new but it would
- 23:42Speaker 3: be him that would play Quentin.
- 23:50Speaker 2: I think I know exactly who you're talking about.
- 23:53Speaker 3: I think.
- 23:54Speaker 2: And it's family business, right.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Yeah, he's in a family business. Let me see. His
- 24:06Speaker 3: name is Miguel miguel A new Yeah, miguel a new
- 24:13Speaker 3: NaN's junior. Oh, I remember him.
- 24:23Speaker 2: He's one of my favorite movies. It was well, he
- 24:26Speaker 2: played the lady. It was a basketball movie. He played
- 24:31Speaker 2: the lady. Oh my god.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Yeah, he was in movies. I can't remember any movies.
- 24:36Speaker 2: That you want a man?
- 24:40Speaker 3: Yes, okay, I can see, I can.
- 24:44Speaker 2: See all right. We are Lifeline, Lifetime on the line. Okay,
- 24:52Speaker 2: they love your book. Okay, you already have your two
- 24:57Speaker 2: main characters. But now they need a soundtrack? What sound
- 25:03Speaker 2: What song will be the feature song to represent your
- 25:07Speaker 2: book on the soundtrack? And from the eighties, it could
- 25:13Speaker 2: be from anywhere?
- 25:15Speaker 3: How about Danger?
- 25:22Speaker 2: The girl in Danger, y'all, she do mystical.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Okay, that's.
- 25:33Speaker 2: So, why did you choose that song?
- 25:38Speaker 3: First of all, there was the first thing that popped
- 25:40Speaker 3: in my head. And because she is in danger and
- 25:42Speaker 3: she doesn't know it. She believes that her marriage is perfect,
- 25:47Speaker 3: and we know nothing's perfect, but she believes her husband's
- 25:51Speaker 3: perfect and her marriage is perfect, and she just basical
- 25:56Speaker 3: because he's killing folks, gas slighting her, poisoning people, you know,
- 26:04Speaker 3: just all those things. So just danger. If you meet
- 26:08Speaker 3: someone named Quentin, just run.
- 26:13Speaker 2: I'm sorry all the Quentin's out there.
- 26:18Speaker 3: I'm sorry everybody's like that Quintin. I made my next husband,
- 26:23Speaker 3: maybe Quentin, not this Quinto that you know that want
- 26:32Speaker 3: to take care of me and my son and love
- 26:35Speaker 3: us both and not want to kill us for our money.
- 26:38Speaker 3: I imagine every money, because we don't have any money.
- 26:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I understand the She just gave a whole deep nap.
- 26:49Speaker 2: So make sure y'all check up all the boxes. Okay,
- 26:52Speaker 2: you got to check off the boxes. So we have
- 26:56Speaker 2: the soundtrack is Danger. We have Tina Turner, and we
- 27:00Speaker 2: have Michuel Newness. So Lifetown says this, The movie was awesome. Okay,
- 27:09Speaker 2: now we want to do a movie about you. Who
- 27:14Speaker 2: would you get to play you? And why would you
- 27:17Speaker 2: give them such a title?
- 27:20Speaker 3: Oh my h mm hmmm, you know what Kelly Rowland.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Now, that is the first time I've heard that name.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Well, I really like Kelly Roland. I think she's beautiful.
- 27:48Speaker 3: I love her beautiful dark skin. I think she is
- 27:53Speaker 3: a great actress. I think she's a great singer beyond say,
- 27:59Speaker 3: you know her didn't shine when she was in Destiny's Child,
- 28:04Speaker 3: but I believe her life's shine now and I would
- 28:09Speaker 3: love for her to play me. I would.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Now, we gotta get somebody to write and well, co
- 28:20Speaker 2: author your biopic for lifetime. So what author have you
- 28:25Speaker 2: always wanted to write a book with and why them?
- 28:30Speaker 2: Or if you don't have an author you ever wanted
- 28:32Speaker 2: to write a book with? Who is your favorite author?
- 28:35Speaker 2: And wife?
- 28:40Speaker 3: So I would okay, I would say I was able
- 28:52Speaker 3: to co write a book with someone. I would say,
- 28:58Speaker 3: I'll tell you a grant because her stories are just
- 29:04Speaker 3: as crazy as mine, crazy crazier. Okay. I can see
- 29:15Speaker 3: us writing a book so unhinged that people would probably
- 29:22Speaker 3: read it in one city. They wouldn't put it down,
- 29:26Speaker 3: they wouldn't go to sleep.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Now that is what's up. Yeah, that is what's up.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Whoa not to go eat a snack?
- 29:40Speaker 3: They won't even go eat a snack, there could be
- 29:43Speaker 3: too busy engulfed in the book.
- 29:49Speaker 2: I had a book like that in a long time.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Oh when y'all took delivrate that place.
- 29:58Speaker 3: You need to you need to read. Have you read
- 30:01Speaker 3: The Babysitter by Tunisia Steward?
- 30:06Speaker 2: What the name of that one called The baby Swetter?
- 30:08Speaker 3: The Babysitter? That was a book that I read and
- 30:15Speaker 3: I stayed up most of the night. It was sleepy
- 30:18Speaker 3: the next day. And it's coming out of them. It's out.
- 30:23Speaker 3: It's out now on audible. Is this a scary book?
- 30:28Speaker 3: The Babysitter by Tanisian Steward. It's a thriller. It's not scary,
- 30:32Speaker 3: it's a thriller.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, y'all this might be very crazy. Okay, So
- 30:40Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell y'all a little bit about one little
- 30:42Speaker 2: thing about me. I can't read scary books. But one
- 30:47Speaker 2: of my favorite movies of all time, favorite movie series
- 30:51Speaker 2: of all time, it's The Purt Oh really, but you
- 30:56Speaker 2: can't read scary I can't read scary books.
- 31:00Speaker 3: I need to know what up you got to read?
- 31:07Speaker 3: It's a horror thriller. I wrote the book and the
- 31:17Speaker 3: audio it scared me and I wrote it.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Everything. I just said. This is an audio book, I said,
- 31:29Speaker 3: read it.
- 31:30Speaker 2: But I love books with sound effects. Man. This new
- 31:34Speaker 2: thing that authors are doing adding sound effects to the books.
- 31:38Speaker 2: I love it. It takes the book to a whole separate,
- 31:44Speaker 2: a whole separate.
- 31:46Speaker 3: It's a smatic experience, experience.
- 31:51Speaker 2: I've never for my first time listening to an audio
- 31:55Speaker 2: book that had the additional sound effects. Kind of got
- 31:59Speaker 2: me in trouble at work because my epiece came out
- 32:01Speaker 2: and were you know, but it was like WHOA. So
- 32:09Speaker 2: I love that. So it's great to know you guys
- 32:12Speaker 2: that if you get that book that she just showed,
- 32:15Speaker 2: it has audio and it has the sound effects. So
- 32:21Speaker 2: y'all want to go grab that one and tell me
- 32:23Speaker 2: how it is. Because I don't want to have to
- 32:27Speaker 2: sleep for the night light. I will be forty five
- 32:33Speaker 2: next week, I don't me Jesus No, I'll be forty
- 32:38Speaker 2: six next week. I don't need to be sleeping.
- 32:41Speaker 3: No night light. Well, you won't need a night light.
- 32:44Speaker 3: You're gonna need an overhead light with this one. See
- 32:51Speaker 3: just read, just read the first two chapters and tell
- 32:54Speaker 3: me what you think.
- 32:59Speaker 2: She said for the first two chapters. Okay, you know what,
- 33:05Speaker 2: you know what step me. The link to it is
- 33:09Speaker 2: that one out.
- 33:11Speaker 3: It's so uh, I'll say I was sending. I would
- 33:17Speaker 3: send the e book to you for free. Just read
- 33:22Speaker 3: it in the daytime. Okay.
- 33:26Speaker 2: So what I'll do? No, I'm actually going to somebody house.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Oh okay, I ain't cooking the ship. Oh well, okay,
- 33:36Speaker 2: you know what, and you can read here's here's here's
- 33:41Speaker 2: the bed, here's this. I'll pause the book that I'm
- 33:44Speaker 2: reading right now, okay, and I'll read the first two
- 33:47Speaker 2: chapters tomorrow morning, and I'll have something in your inbox
- 33:55Speaker 2: telling you if I can continue.
- 33:59Speaker 3: Okay, how about that? All right?
- 34:02Speaker 2: And you guys, I will. I'll put it on my
- 34:05Speaker 2: Facebook page and you know how I did my little
- 34:08Speaker 2: blurt to my books, and y'all will tell me. I'll
- 34:11Speaker 2: tell y'all if I can continue. So if you send
- 34:14Speaker 2: it to me tonight, I can do it tomorrow, and
- 34:17Speaker 2: I promise two chapters.
- 34:23Speaker 3: You got this?
- 34:27Speaker 2: So before we leave, what would you like to say
- 34:30Speaker 2: to your old readers, your new readers, and the readers
- 34:33Speaker 2: you are again after this podcast.
- 34:38Speaker 3: I would just like to tell them thank you for
- 34:43Speaker 3: supporting me, and I also want to say thank you
- 34:45Speaker 3: for the people who tuned in tonight. And I'm hoping
- 34:52Speaker 3: to invoke different feelings for our readers as they read.
- 34:59Speaker 3: I would love for them to feel love and excitement
- 35:04Speaker 3: for the protagonists. I would love for them to have
- 35:08Speaker 3: anger for the antagonists. I would like for them to
- 35:17Speaker 3: hopefully appreciate that. You know, a lot of my books
- 35:21Speaker 3: have female lead characters. We don't have very much of
- 35:27Speaker 3: female lead characters. I guess in the books that I
- 35:30Speaker 3: read there's only a few. And just to reading is
- 35:36Speaker 3: good for the mind. So keep reading, and please support me,
- 35:43Speaker 3: and support indie authors, and support black indie authors, and
- 35:47Speaker 3: please please please leave reviews. You just don't know how
- 35:52Speaker 3: important reviews are to us and for us, especially with
- 35:57Speaker 3: the Amazon algorithms. The more reviews we get, the more
- 36:02Speaker 3: Amazon will put our books, you know, where readers can
- 36:06Speaker 3: see them in the not the spotlight, but just to
- 36:09Speaker 3: be seen. Otherwise we're just here, so yeah, yep.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Otherwise they'll just fade and you won't see their books
- 36:17Speaker 2: and you will see people wonder why they keep seeing
- 36:23Speaker 2: the same books over and over and over again. Well,
- 36:26Speaker 2: one of the reasons why is because you didn't plase
- 36:29Speaker 2: the review for that book that you loved so much.
- 36:33Speaker 2: You didn't give that author a chance to be pushed
- 36:35Speaker 2: out in an actor. Okay, so tell us where we
- 36:40Speaker 2: can follow you and any upcoming events that you may
- 36:44Speaker 2: have that we can see you in person.

- 39:23Speaker 2: want to do in twenty twenty six. Knowing that way
- 39:26Speaker 2: I work, coming out of the comfort zone and helping
- 39:30Speaker 2: other people find great books to take their mind off
- 39:33Speaker 2: of things. It's something that I want to do so.
- 39:36Speaker 2: All right, you guys, before we leave, we're going to
