Portland’s Bureau of Transportation is rolling out a major accessibility upgrade on West Burnside, starting this week with phase one between 15th and 20th avenues — a multi-year project set to wrap by fall 2026. Expect lane and sidewalk closures for days or weeks, with at least one travel lane kept open, but prepare for delays, especially during rush hour. This first phase is just the beginning — phase two will tackle 21st to 24th avenues in spring 2027 through fall 2027.
