- 0:06Hey everybody, welcome back to another episode of Spider Sound.
- 0:10OP, this is Tom. And this is Porter.
- 0:13And hey, yesterday the women and men both went one and O talking
- 0:19about the men's baseball team that beat James Madison 9:00 to
- 0:235:00. And the women's swimming and
- 0:26diving team opened up the Atlantic 10 championships with
- 0:30A2 podium finishes. We got a gold medal in the 200
- 0:34medley relay and we broke our school record what set in 2023.
- 0:40So shout out to the relay team. I'll probably get this these
- 0:43names all wrong, but Hannah was Sorschik Presley Baber, Elena
- 0:48Amare and Julia Krychev. How about that lacrosse team?
- 0:51Oh, and then yes, we got a Was it right they five in the nation
- 0:54now? You know, I got a good buddy.
- 0:57Well, before you get there, I just like how we're what we've
- 0:59been asked. You can talk about other sports
- 1:00were like no. And then we're like, oh boy,
- 1:02yeah, this is our first, our first week where the teams went.
- 1:06Oh, and three in between pods. It's a great day if you're
- 1:09watching us online. You see my Gray shirt.
- 1:11I don't break out the Gray very often.
- 1:12It's. So well I grew up in a lacrosse
- 1:14town so I had a buddies mind who were soccer players but better
- 1:18lacrosse players and went D1 places.
- 1:20But you've got a story I. Do I was just talking to my good
- 1:23buddy Bill who I he worked with me for 3030 or so years up in
- 1:27Northern Virginia and he's a huge lacrosse guy and I.
- 1:31I do you remember Mr. Bill, by the way, the old SNL skit?
- 1:33I do not. The little clay guy who would
- 1:35get run over. Yeah, that clay guy.
- 1:37Ever. And we're calling Mr. Bill Go.
- 1:38Ahead so Mr. Bill is big lacrosse guy.
- 1:41He played lacrosse at Villanova way back in the day.
- 1:43Anyway, so I was just saying, saying, hey, I need a couple
- 1:46sound bites because I don't want to talk basketball today, so
- 1:48give me something about lacrosse.
- 1:49And he said, first of all, years and years ago when we first
- 1:53hired the Chamati guy. And again, I know nothing about
- 1:56lacrosse. The Chamati guy, I'm just going.
- 1:57To call him the Chamati guy, right when we called hired the
- 2:00Chamati guy, he said to me, I remember we were sitting in the
- 2:03office. He said that's one of the best
- 2:04hires he's ever seen in lacrosse.
- 2:05And I didn't think much about it because I don't think about
- 2:07lacrosse. But anyway, 12 years later,
- 2:08however long it's been, you got this, this unbelievable coach in
- 2:12lacrosse and he's doing great things.
- 2:13And Bill's hot button, hot take for me today was we probably
- 2:17have a Final Four team on her hand, which is just a super
- 2:20exciting to hear. So they're asked to the lacrosse
- 2:22Yeah, there was a podcast I saw that was about lacrosse.
- 2:25It was some like national lacrosse guy who came to
- 2:28Richmond. He was doing like a tour of and
- 2:30went had one of our players take him through.
- 2:33And this was probably 3 months ago, but it's very interesting
- 2:36the the interviewer, it was very, it was entertaining.
- 2:39The lacrosse guy and some of his buddies at Ronald were very
- 2:42entertaining as well. But he asked him like, so is
- 2:44Richard a basketball school or lacrosse school?
- 2:46And of course the lacrosse player said it's a lacrosse
- 2:48school. Maybe we're we'll see that
- 2:51transition if we can be top ten. I know we've been kind of top 20
- 2:55almost every year and often go to the NCAA is because we win
- 2:59the A10 championship, but it'd be great if we could then you
- 3:04know, get to that top ten status and always be sometimes we are
- 3:07favored. I think playing UVA so it's this
- 3:11is a great. Team lost by 1 to Cornell twice
- 3:13last year Cornell was the national championship.
- 3:14They didn't lose. Cornell didn't lose by 1 to many
- 3:17people if I recall last year or sorry, didn't beat too many team
- 3:20people by just one goal. So again, we're we're pretty
- 3:24impressive in lacrosse and I think it's worth us shouting out
- 3:26a few minutes here on this pod to talk about the success that
- 3:29program is having because, you know, we want to see a national
- 3:32championship and we might just have a national championship
- 3:33team. It just happens to be in
- 3:35lacrosse. Yep, let's talk about what
- 3:39happened to this ladies team and the offense.
- 3:41Where did it go? So it pretty much didn't exist
- 3:45against George Mason. That George Mason, it didn't
- 3:48exist for 3/4 at GW and that was a a quad four loss.
- 3:54I have a. At GWI have a theory?
- 3:56What's your theory? OK.
- 3:58So I don't know you probably you never really travelled much for
- 4:01a career. You were always sitting at a
- 4:02desk behind. Pretty much so.
- 4:04I spent a lot of time on the road, a lot of time on the road,
- 4:06and I was thinking back to my early 20s when I was on the road
- 4:09quite a bit. There's a difference between
- 4:11flying out for a meeting in one city, conducting the meeting or
- 4:15meetings and then flying back home than what the ladies just
- 4:19went through. The ladies had to presumably fly
- 4:22to Charlotte, play a basketball game, which is very much in
- 4:24their normal routine. Then they either stayed
- 4:26overnight in Charlotte or they caught a night flight to DC.
- 4:29Second, they're traveling from city one to City 2, neither our
- 4:33home, right? They have an overnight in DC,
- 4:36then they play a game two days after.
- 4:38So you're already dealing with a 48 hour compressed schedule, but
- 4:41you now are dealing with Rd. travel.
- 4:42That's unusual. Then you probably stayed in DC
- 4:45for another night to play the next game against George
- 4:48Washington, right? So it's a very different travel
- 4:50motion. Now let me let me tell you why I
- 4:51say that I went to Thailand in 2019 with the wife.
- 4:55The wife's in much better shape than I am, as you know, right?
- 4:58She's just in really good shape. But I, I had to spend a career
- 5:01travelling the world, travelling all over the place.
- 5:04And so the 21 hours of flight time through Dubai, shout out to
- 5:06our Dubai listeners by the way, you guys are making moving up
- 5:09their rankings rapidly. I'm like who's?
- 5:11The number. Are we the number one spiders
- 5:12podcast in Dubai? Who's listening to us in Dubai?
- 5:15But we're moving. Up.
- 5:15We're moving up. Keep going.
- 5:16Anyway, so we flew through Dubai and then we went on to Thailand
- 5:20and it was a 21 hour and 21 hours in the air.
- 5:22We were only in Thailand for four days.
- 5:24It was a company trip. So I say that because I was
- 5:27actually completely good as soon as we landed in Thailand to do
- 5:30my thing because I'm so used to travel and I'm 6 foot 6 and I'm
- 5:32used to travel. So like I dealt with the plane,
- 5:35it was fine. My wife is in great shape, was
- 5:37not used to flight, air travel. She had a really hard time
- 5:40adjusting to the conditions because you know, if you're not
- 5:42used to travel and travel and staying in different places, it
- 5:45wears you out and there's a certain thing that wears you
- 5:47out. And we looked worn out for both.
- 5:49To those games, that's all I'll say.
- 5:50Well, while O and two is disappointing, well, at least
- 5:55what was it 6 months ago we beat Virginia Tech in a secret
- 5:58scrimmage. That's that's one Porter likes
- 6:01bringing up. Is like something that was.
- 6:02Important. Well, look, here's the thing
- 6:03too. Let me give you another another
- 6:04nugget. So we're 42 in the net.
- 6:06So I know everybody's saying we're off now the at large
- 6:08bubble, we're not. Going to well and Rhode Island
- 6:10lost 2. They had their own quad four
- 6:12loss. And they're 46 in the net, Yeah.
- 6:14So we're still both top 50. Do I, am I predicting in that
- 6:17large bid after the two losses? No, but it is still a
- 6:20possibility depending on everything else that happens
- 6:22between now and the end of the conference tournament across all
- 6:25the different conferences. So it's not a done deal, it's
- 6:28not a 50 plus percenter, but it's not a done deal that we
- 6:31could get in that large. Yeah, I think if we, I mean that
- 6:34outside chances, we win the rest of our games and then lose in
- 6:36the finals to either probably Rhode Island or to George Mason
- 6:41or someone who's, you know, maybe Davidson, someone who at
- 6:44least is, you know, top 75 and and we can be the second team in
- 6:50because we that would include us beating Rhode Island.
- 6:53Yeah, I would think, I would think it would need to go like
- 6:55this. We'd have to win the rest of our
- 6:56games, win the 1st 2 conference games against at least one good
- 6:59team, right? And then in the final, you lose
- 7:02by a point or two to look, I think it needs to be Rhode
- 7:04Island in the final if you're going to have a shot.
- 7:06And then I even if all that happens, I think we're still
- 7:08like a 20% chance for now, but I don't think it's a 50.
- 7:10Percent. Well, the one thing I'll talk, I
- 7:12mean, there wasn't much to really talk about in the George
- 7:13Mason game. Like we just never got going.
- 7:16Like we did have a great fourth quarter last night and, you
- 7:20know, unfortunately overtime didn't work out.
- 7:21But I will say like the one thing that I thought would be
- 7:25more of an impact and I'll, you know, this is obviously a
- 7:29coach's decision, but there was a point in time, I think in the
- 7:31third, maybe it was the second maybe 2 times.
- 7:33Anisha Scott came in and she was great, like confident.
- 7:37She had that, you know, basket to the lane.
- 7:39She had a great pass. And I was like, we, we're such a
- 7:42dud everywhere else. Like in my head, it was like she
- 7:45ought to, she ought to play a lot in the later on this game.
- 7:49Mason or Washington? No.
- 7:50George Washington. OK, yeah, there's nothing to
- 7:52talk about. George Mason.
- 7:53We all stunk. I.
- 7:53Think I, I would say Anisha Shock gave us a nice lift.
- 7:56It was nothing in the third period.
- 7:57She was actually showing some stuff.
- 7:58Here's what happened in the George Washington game.
- 8:00I actually have and I, I know exactly what went wrong.
- 8:03OK, the game started at 6:00 PM Eastern Time.
- 8:06The team was in Adams Morgan until 7:30.
- 8:10Then they finally showed up at 7:30 PM and played 30 minutes a
- 8:12game. Because the 1st 90 minutes of
- 8:14that game, the first 3 periods were not Spider women's
- 8:16basketball. They were not.
- 8:17They just were something completely else.
- 8:20I don't know what to make of it. It was just not Spider women's
- 8:23basketball. Yeah, I mean that again, just it
- 8:26was just weird to me that I think it was in the 3rd and Isha
- 8:29looked good. Ava came in at some point hit a
- 8:32three and I'm like these two look like they have energy and
- 8:37everybody else looks like like, you know, they're travelling to
- 8:40Thailand in a long flight. And so in my head I was like,
- 8:43whoa, it's going to be interesting when we get to the
- 8:45next quarter, are we going to see a couple kind of regulars
- 8:49not playing because these two look like they're ready to go.
- 8:51And sure, if they went O and three and the fourth would be
- 8:54like, OK, well, that's not working.
- 8:56But I was just surprised he didn't go back to that because
- 8:59that team, like, I mean, we were finding, I mean, Rachel, while
- 9:03she hasn't shot well, there are points in times where she was
- 9:06just not shooting either. Like she'd have an open 3.
- 9:09But when you go 2 for eight, at some point it was like, well,
- 9:11I'll kick it over to Sam and like we are just out of sort.
- 9:15So that's the one disappointment I have.
- 9:17I think there was a, the coach has talked about this Bench is
- 9:19going to be playing more and needing to play more, but he got
- 9:22into the 4th and was like, I'm going with my starting 5.
- 9:24The starting five had a great fourth.
- 9:26They looked like spider ball again.
- 9:28And that was that was encouraging.
- 9:29So maybe we get through this little 2 game stint of terrible
- 9:33and, and look, George Mason is, is a tough game no matter what
- 9:35at George Mason. So I don't, I don't, I don't
- 9:38blame the ladies for losing that game.
- 9:39That's going to always be a tough one.
- 9:40The George Washington games, a game you got to win and you
- 9:43should have won by 20. And honestly, we missed it
- 9:45seemed like in the first half, every layup we took, every three
- 9:48pointer clanked. I think we were two for 22, our
- 9:50first 22 three pointers in that game.
- 9:52It just was a weird game. Now what about?
- 9:54Your other theory? Which is.
- 9:56Someone who was at both of those.
- 9:57Games. Oh, yes.
- 9:59OK, so you saw the pictures that I texted you.
- 10:01OK, so I'm watching the TV broadcast on both games and you
- 10:05know, we have a 2 avid listeners to our podcast that are based in
- 10:08Vienna. They're they're, we'll just call
- 10:11them R&J. Well, well, we've mentioned D
- 10:13Hall before, because the whole possum.
- 10:15Story I know if you want to call D Hall.
- 10:16Out public, I'm calling D Hall out.
- 10:18OK, so D Hall and his lovely wife.
- 10:20He's a 93 spider like us. Attended both games in person.
- 10:23They're both prominently featured on the camera, right?
- 10:26Because they're wearing the red behind the bench.
- 10:28Not far, not too far back. And at one point in time, I just
- 10:31I took a picture of them on the TV and I circled them with a
- 10:35with a little marker and I sent it out to our friend group
- 10:37saying I think we've got the Vienna Voodoo working for both
- 10:40of these games because, yeah, the D Hall has brought the jinx
- 10:44on. But he has been in in Richmond
- 10:46to watch display and we've won with him.
- 10:47And that's right. So can't totally blame him.
- 10:49But on our way game, D Hall wearing red.
- 10:52Yeah, don't, don't go to the Henrico.
- 10:53Hey, D Hall, next season you're banned from George Mason and
- 10:57George Washington. Just bands.
- 10:59You got to take a year. We tell him not to come to
- 11:00Henrico for the tournament. No, no, no.
- 11:02You can come to Henrico. OK.
- 11:03So you're still in on the Henrico?
- 11:04Yeah. OK, before we get into the man,
- 11:07I had this great podcast idea. We're not going to do this now,
- 11:11but it's inspired by, I don't know if you saw the story,
- 11:14Danica Mason, who is covering the Olympics for Australia.
- 11:21She was drunk on the air. Yeah, I was slurring words.
- 11:26Was going in like a direction that was kind of odd.
- 11:28They blame the cold. She has since apologized.
- 11:31And I'm like, why apologize? That's good content.
- 11:34Yeah. And maybe we need to do at some
- 11:37point if this season keeps spiraling down.
- 11:39Do we need to do a drunk episode?
- 11:41Do. A Falcon Smash episode.
- 11:42Yeah, just some episode of if we.
- 11:45We're desperate for content that's that's one way we.
- 11:48Yeah, we had no guests today folks and we went O and three.
- 11:50So there's only so much we can talk about.
- 11:52I will say this, let me give you a couple things that were good.
- 11:56I mean. You're talking to the men's game
- 11:57now, the women. 'S game Alicia had threw us 5
- 11:59offensive rebounds. Defensively, we looked OK
- 12:02against both teams, so the defense wasn't the problem.
- 12:05It was the offense of both games.
- 12:07Still 42 in the net. I, I don't think it's they're
- 12:10fatal. We can, I mean, obviously
- 12:12winning the 18 tournament still the preferred way of getting in,
- 12:14but like you know, our margin for error is.
- 12:17Yeah, we've talked enough about the O 4/2.
- 12:21So are the men's news. If you haven't seen it, sounds
- 12:23like Beagle might be out for the year.
- 12:25Broke his finger hitting the backboard in the VCU game.
- 12:29He continued to play, but he's got that all kind of wrapped up.
- 12:32I don't think the school has declared him out for the year,
- 12:34but I think some someone did on Twitter.
- 12:39But this is another game where we got down early again, like
- 12:42the good news, we've had three games in a row where we've
- 12:45looked at the end of the game in the second-half like we
- 12:48competed. These haven't been like blow out
- 12:51games. We can remember that Davidson
- 12:52home game which was just an embarrassing output but like the
- 12:56team is is starting off slow, then getting their act together,
- 13:00then competing and falling short.
- 13:03Fighting back in the end, but coming up a little short, yeah.
- 13:06Aiden Argebright was great, stellar.
- 13:08Unfortunately, that last shot, just his toe was on the
- 13:12three-point line, so we weren't able to tie it at the end.
- 13:16But it was a great, great move by him to to get open.
- 13:19And Jalen Robinson had a block of a defensive play that was
- 13:24incredible. During our run at the end where
- 13:27someone came at him, he kind of went straight up.
- 13:29So there was no foul. And while he was straight up, he
- 13:32then blocked the shot. So I mean, they're both keepers.
- 13:36I I look forward to and hopefully seeing them next year
- 13:40getting even more minutes in the Robin Center, Yeah.
- 13:42Here's a good So I think the the question is, and this is the
- 13:45question you're starting to see it played out a little bit in
- 13:47the real press, because we're not the real press, you know,
- 13:49we're the fake press. Hey, we get press passes.
- 13:51We are we. Do have, we do have real press
- 13:53passes for the for, for an upcoming event that we're super
- 13:56excited about. But like the real press, you
- 13:59know, John O'Connor wrote an excellent story on Richmond's
- 14:02being outspent in men's basketball by the leaders in the
- 14:06A10. And so the question is, you
- 14:10know, is it is it a matter of like more money fixes the last
- 14:14two years of performance? Or is it the matter of the style
- 14:19that we play Mooney needs to adjust to to fit the NIL portal
- 14:24error or a combination of both. And I think that's the debate
- 14:28you're going to see play out at the university over the next
- 14:33several months because like, you know, you can throw more money
- 14:35at it, but if the style is wrong, you know, are you going
- 14:37to, are you going to find success Or, you know, do you
- 14:41tweak the style and throw more money at it and, and see, you
- 14:44know, better results? Because, you know, I think, I
- 14:46think there's going to be some debates in terms of what, what
- 14:48do we have to adjust to have more success in the current era?
- 14:52Because I don't think, and I don't think this is a hot take.
- 14:56I think we're in the bottom 4 right now in the A10.
- 14:57Yeah, I don't think. It would be 3 out of four years
- 15:00if we end up in the bottom 4. Yeah, I don't think we are going
- 15:03to win five straight games, which is I think what you have
- 15:05to do from the bottom four in the A 10 tournament.
- 15:08I don't think we're going to win five straight games.
- 15:09To yeah, to make. Well, I just when you talk about
- 15:11the bottom 4, so we've got our next two games are against other
- 15:15teams in the bottom four. We got Saint Bonaventure again
- 15:18and then Loyola Chicago. So those are two games like we
- 15:22have to win if you don't want to be bottom 4.
- 15:25So you win those two. I'm not saying I think we will,
- 15:28but we win those two. We have six wins and then we
- 15:30have two games left and it's Duquesne and Davidson are both
- 15:32in the top half, but neither of them are Saint Louis.
- 15:35Davidson, we just played, I'm sorry, Duquesne, Duquesne and
- 15:37Dayton. So they're both in the top half,
- 15:40but neither of them are Saint Louis.
- 15:41You got to win one of those. Two games, yeah, I think if we
- 15:43win, if we win 2 against the bottom team and then.
- 15:46You win one against. This top and then you win one
- 15:48that I think you're definitely not out of the bottom four.
- 15:50I think six wins might get you out of the bottom 42.
- 15:53There's a bunch of teams now with six and I'm not sure if
- 15:55they're all going to win games out, but it's it's not looking
- 15:58good. I, I think it's like he's, yeah,
- 16:02I think if we're the bottom 4, it's not going to happen.
- 16:06And this, it's kind of the tough part where you're always hoping
- 16:09that your, your team can turn it on and you've got this whole
- 16:13portal environment. Like we're not.
- 16:15I think there are times in the past where we've had a team
- 16:18that's underperformed and by this point in time, like the
- 16:21seat, the time for the seniors is getting pulled down and
- 16:24you're putting a bunch of time in developing your, your other
- 16:27players, your younger players. But we're not seeing that.
- 16:29I mean, Johnston's playing. I think he had like 36 minutes
- 16:32or something. The A JS playing a ton and AJ
- 16:34had a great scoring game, but it's unfortunate like and
- 16:38Argarbright is playing more, but he's proving he needs to play
- 16:41more. This isn't I don't think
- 16:42Mooney's throwing him a bone to give him more time out there.
- 16:45It's, you know, he's trying to win.
- 16:46Every game he's your best player, so.
- 16:48So. And that's the the analytics are
- 16:50backing that up too. So we'll see.
- 16:52I did. You know, one thing I did feel
- 16:54good about this in particular watching the games like
- 16:56yesterday on TV, both more on ESPN.
- 16:58Plus, boy, those announcers were awful.
- 17:03And so it made me feel good when we got the volume was awful.
- 17:05We got yeah, the men's. Game yeah, volume was awful.
- 17:08One of the two months. Yeah, so let's first talk about
- 17:10the GW game that was on Monumental.
- 17:14Ryan Kerr. That guy was a super fan, by the
- 17:18way. A super fan and and what I loved
- 17:20is he was obnoxious for no reason.
- 17:21He'd be like she shoots a three and then she missed the three.
- 17:25Like he would say it while she was shooting it and then she
- 17:29would miss. And so he's like.
- 17:30Wow, here's something I'll say. He was a super fan.
- 17:33Like, I mean a super GW fan. Like I've never heard that level
- 17:36of excitement by an announcer about his team.
- 17:38So to some degree I was get. Excited when something exciting
- 17:41happened I. Know, like, and then on the, on
- 17:43the play at the end of the game where there was a, the bang,
- 17:45bang play in overtime where the lady, the lady and Maggie
- 17:48collided, they called the foul for #5-ON Maggie, which, you
- 17:50know, may or may not have been the right call.
- 17:52I'm not here to complain about the officials.
- 17:54I've had a listener tell me I whine about the officials too
- 17:56much, so I'm not going to do that.
- 17:57But the guy was like the the announcers like, well, that
- 18:01can't be a that can't be a block.
- 18:02That can't be a block. He starts to go like like almost
- 18:04like you or I would like on a live podcast where we're both,
- 18:07you know, maybe over overextended on caffeine.
- 18:10And then after they called the block, the other announcer goes,
- 18:13you know, and I think it's a one shot.
- 18:15He goes, no, it's two shots, a one and one.
- 18:16He's like, no, it's a continuation for the basket.
- 18:18And then all of a sudden they ruled the continuation for the
- 18:21basket and he just erupted into like into like gleam.
- 18:24It was like. 30 seconds after the basket it was wild.
- 18:27So I. Agree with you.
- 18:28I thought that was a little, but I didn't.
- 18:29I didn't, I Look, I'll be honest, I didn't hate it like I
- 18:31didn't hate it because the guy's a fan, man.
- 18:33I just. Wish he'd be excited when the
- 18:35exciting things happened. I just screaming when someone
- 18:37shoots. You know, the thing I'd
- 18:38appreciate was his passion for GW ladies basketball.
- 18:41OK, so Davidson, the sound production was awful.
- 18:45Greg Herrenda is a former coach. He was kind of the color
- 18:49commentary guy big time. Volume issues like 1 was really
- 18:52loud. I got I got a little
- 18:53demonstration here of of what it sounded like.
- 18:55Basketball I can. Do this right, someone's like,
- 18:59OK, there's a shot and he's like, boom, it's worth the price
- 19:03of admission. I think that was one of his
- 19:07lines. I don't know how that's going to
- 19:08sound on the sound and. Then at some point he's like.
- 19:10Argue bright is as bright as the lights.
- 19:14That was one of his lines I wrote down.
- 19:17So I I the The funny thing when he was teaching, because he's a
- 19:21coach, yeah, there are times where he was teaching and I'm
- 19:23like, wow, he's a good teacher. That was an interesting comment.
- 19:25But when he was trying to do like the hype man color
- 19:28commentary guy, I was just like terrible.
- 19:32And the sound was really. Quiet.
- 19:34Yeah, I, I didn't mind his analysis at all.
- 19:36I thought he was actually very insightful.
- 19:38What? I bothered me immensely because
- 19:40I was, I, I got, I got back late last night from a meeting and I
- 19:43had to watch both games before I went to bed so I could get ready
- 19:45to record today to be released tomorrow.
- 19:48So I was trying, my wife was trying to sleep while I was
- 19:51watching the men's game. And so I had it really quiet.
- 19:53And then all of a sudden he would start talking and she
- 19:55would jump because she was like trying to sleep.
- 19:57I'm like, OK, this isn't good. So yeah, the sound definitely
- 20:00caught me as, as you know, they needed to fix that for sure.
- 20:04A lot of boom, boom. They like he, like boom, yes,
- 20:08yes. I can't remember where he
- 20:10coached. I looked it up.
- 20:11It wasn't that interesting, he said he.
- 20:12Recruited Mooney I think. I thought I heard.
- 20:14Him say I recruited Chris or something.
- 20:16Well, I could. I thought he said that, but
- 20:17maybe I was wrong about that. I don't know.
- 20:19I was. But anyway.
- 20:20Writing and listening at the same time.
- 20:21Do better, Davidson kind of get that sound production right when
- 20:24you're going to be on ESPN plus, like that's going to be your a
- 20:27game. Like it's one thing if you're on
- 20:30a, on a, you know, local or just like on your, like we have, we
- 20:32used to have Spider TV where you'd kind of, you know, it's
- 20:35only available if you, you know, pay for the spider broadcast and
- 20:38no one's doing that. But Spider fans, like if you're
- 20:40doing that, like whatever, but you're on ESPN plus, man,
- 20:43someone, there's got to be someone behind the scenes.
- 20:45She's like, we got to fix that. And there's usually a dial that
- 20:48someone's got to turn to fix it. But anyway.
- 20:51Yeah, sound is hard. I don't do it.
- 20:52This guy over here does it for us, so I acknowledge it's hard,
- 20:55but he always ends up making everybody sound great, which I
- 20:57love, by the way. So good sound guy definitely is
- 21:00worth his weight in gold or her weight in gold.
- 21:03Well, as I want to kind of give thanks everybody for the
- 21:08comments we got on having Kendall Anthony on.
- 21:11That was a lot of fun for us. Great episode.
- 21:13What a nice show. If you haven't had a chance to
- 21:14see it, check it out. Super Guy.
- 21:18Thank you guys again for donating to Scott Unger's son
- 21:20Luke's charity. You can still do that.
- 21:23saintbaldricks.org. Look up Luke's army.
- 21:26We appreciate everybody who's donated.
- 21:28Thank you very much for that great story.
- 21:30If you go back and you listen to the Scott episode just about
- 21:33overcoming obstacles in life and, you know, basically being a
- 21:38positive force even when life deals you the most unimaginably
- 21:42bad hand it could. And so definitely appreciate
- 21:45everybody who's who said things that they appreciate that
- 21:47episode and that they've they've given.
- 21:49So you know, we've talked for 22 minutes almost and there's not
- 21:54much more to talk about. We do have games.
- 21:56We do have spider brews on Saturday.
- 21:57I know Porter, you're not able to make it, but that'll be
- 21:59before the Saint Bonaventure game.
- 22:01We got spider brews, so that's a a good outing.
- 22:04Looking forward to that and maybe we get a win after it.
- 22:07If not, I'll be loud if we lose. Yes, yes.
- 22:12So Spider's Brews is always an event worthwhile, worth going
- 22:16to. The beer is great, the food is
- 22:17good, and you know it's great, great value too.
- 22:21So it's a great value for your money.
- 22:23And then Sunday we have a ladies game right in the Robin Center.
- 22:26Yeah, we got another home game. I'll be at that one there, I
- 22:28think. There, I think both of these
- 22:29games are senior night as well. It's their kind of final weekend
- 22:34game, so come out, enjoy the seniors or one last time or
- 22:39close to the to the last time you.
- 22:41Can tell that we were both a little, still a little rattled
- 22:43about the week's events, given that we didn't do a scout.
- 22:45We're just like, you know, let's just roll with.
- 22:47Well, we do have another guest coming up this weekend.
- 22:51I won't tell you any more about that, but another former player
- 22:53we're going to talk to this weekend if everything works out.
- 22:56And so if we have some good things about the games, we'll
- 23:00talk about those. But the focus will be kind of a
- 23:02kind of living in the past where this is the kind of time after
- 23:05Oh no, in three-week or no and three start to the week.
- 23:08Living in the past helps us just doing it right.
- 23:11But anyway, until next time, this is Tom.
- 23:14And this is Porter. And this is the sad spiders
- 23:18sounding off.
