- 0:00SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's a funny TikTok trend if you haven't seen it yet.
- 0:02SPEAKER_02: It's parents with little kids, and you know, if the kids are misbehaving, they threaten to take them to Spirit Halloween to get them scared with the animatronics.
- 0:10SPEAKER_02: That'll teach you.
- 0:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right?
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: 54-25.
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: This is so funny.
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: I took my two little to Target last week and they were so not behaving.
- 0:19SPEAKER_01: Had to stop at Spirit Halloween after for a wig for our costume.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: Told the boys, if you don't behave, I'm gonna leave you there with these scary guys.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: They were excellent after that.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: Will this come up in therapy for them someday?
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: Probably.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: It's okay.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: We went next door and got happy meals afterwards.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: Oh, they forgot.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: But still, right?
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: It but also I do think that slight push is healthy.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: My parents also did this with roller coasters.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: I was definitely afraid of the magnum at Cedar Point.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: And then once I wrote it, I instantly, oh my god, this is awesome.
- 0:53SPEAKER_02: There is a level of having to push past the fear.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: You're you're not wrong on that.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: Then we have from 7018.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: I don't scare easily anymore unless it's my kids doing something that worries me.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: But when I was a kid, the haunted house at Knobles terrified me.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: I buried my face in my mom's arm and cried in it.
- 1:10SPEAKER_02: Allie's done the same to me when we've gone through Tacksylvania.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: It's weird because I love haunted houses, but I also will bury my head too.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: We're gonna go to a haunted house in New Orleans on Thursday.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: Oh, that is gonna be really off unhinged.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: Apparently, this is one of the top five scariest haunted houses in the country.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, Zach, prepare yourself.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: I can't wait.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: I can't wait.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: Okay, I want to play you this audio.
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: I completely understand this odd debate that's going on with coffee shops.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: And are they open early enough?
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: Take a listen.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: I'm so confused because I need a coffee shop to explain to me why you're open at 9 a.m.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: You know who wants to get coffee?
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: People who are tired.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: You know who's tired?
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: People up before 9 a.m.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: Because they have to get to their 9 a.m.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: job.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: So I have the same thing, except for mine falls on the weekends.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: On the weekends, I tend to wake up really, really early.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: Like I'm the person that I'm at the grocery store at 6 a.m.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: And I just naturally get up really early.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: I want these coffee shops to be open that early, and they're not.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: No, not at all.
- 2:19SPEAKER_02: Okay, I've seen the flip side.
- 2:20SPEAKER_02: I have driven by the Duncan on uh over by Grand Central Plaza.
- 2:25SPEAKER_02: And I don't know, maybe it's like a Friday evening, and I know Saturday's coming, and I'm like, you know, I'll swing in, I'll get donuts for the kids for tomorrow morning so I don't have as much to do in the morning.
- 2:35SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 2:36SPEAKER_02: They're closed.
- 2:37SPEAKER_02: Oh, wait, what time is this?
- 2:38SPEAKER_02: Well, I don't know.
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: I mean, I've seen it happen before.
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: It's not, I don't do it all the time, but I've had more than one time where I've been like, there's no one there.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: So since COVID, I think they start closing at six.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: I think.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: I think that's what it is.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: In the evening.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: Now, I'm not looking for a coffee at six at night.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: I mean, literally, I'd be the guy going in to be like, I need donuts for the next day.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: I can understand this six at night.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: At this point, like you're done with your coffee, you're done with your sweets, but for me, I want it super early, and they're never open on a Saturday.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: Now, you you can also argue who else is up on a Saturday at six, seven o'clock in the morning.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: Because a lot of people are.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: Every geriatric.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: True.
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: And they're usually hanging out at Dunkin'.
- 3:16SPEAKER_02: They're there right now up the road.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: But there is like a smattering of coffee places in Corning, and they don't open till like 8 30.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 3:26SPEAKER_02: On the weekends, too.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: I see to me, if you're gonna own a coffee place every single day by 6 a.m., you're open.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: That's what I think.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: But maybe, just maybe, they don't get enough business at 6.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: But I you would think it's the owner wanting to sleep.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: Okay, there's that too.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: But that's how I feel is I never I have to like wait around.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: I'll make my own coffee.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: It's never as good as their coffee.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: Their coffee's way better than my coffee.
- 3:51SPEAKER_02: Well, you might have been just looking for a a a little something different than what we drink every day.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: I might be looking for my pumpkin spice latte as opposed to my just regular black coffee.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I agree with this, is that they're not open early enough.
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: Oh, Natalie said, totally agree with you.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: Coffee shops, 6 a.m.
- 4:07SPEAKER_02: should be a mini uh the minimum.
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah now, this one came in.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: I okay, even I'm not out that early.
- 4:13SPEAKER_02: 1808 said Duncan is open at 5 a.m.
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: Well, yes, you've driven by on a rare occasion that you're feeling generous and want to buy me a wake-up wrap.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: Uh huh.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: Um you've you've brought one in and you get here before six.
- 4:26SPEAKER_02: So yeah, I've seen but on weekends do they do that?
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: That's not usually my go-to on a Saturday.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: Like I want one of the other like fancier places.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: Like I'm looking for more like uh You want to treat yourself.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: I'm looking for like a soulful copy.
- 4:40SPEAKER_02: So Duncan being a chain, you're gonna have more strict from corporate hours.
- 4:47SPEAKER_02: You are to be open by five.
- 4:48SPEAKER_02: You are to do this, you are to do that.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: It's the mom and pop places.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: You're right.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: I think they just want to sleep in a little bit.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: I think that might be yeah.
