Transcript
- 0:02SPEAKER_02: Hello everyone.
- 0:03SPEAKER_02: Welcome to a brand new podcast.
- 0:05SPEAKER_02: This is called Truth Be Told.
- 0:07SPEAKER_02: And today, my name is Mickey, and joining us will be Bethany.
- 0:11SPEAKER_02: And we are going to be your host on this podcast.
- 0:14SPEAKER_02: And we're excited to be here.
- 0:16SPEAKER_02: We are just excited to share the truth and the word of the Lord with everyone.
- 0:21SPEAKER_02: We just want to get God's word out there.
- 0:23SPEAKER_02: The scriptures say that we are to go out and share the gospels, and that's what this podcast is going to be doing.
- 0:29SPEAKER_02: So today, um, Bethany is going to be coming on and continuing with her um testimony from last week.
- 0:36SPEAKER_02: And she's going to be sharing some wonderful scripture, and we are going to definitely jump on here and just try to defeat the enemy today.
- 0:45SPEAKER_02: So welcome in, everybody.
- 0:46SPEAKER_02: And Bethany, how are you doing this morning?
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: I'm doing great.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much.
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: Great.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: So I'm glad that um we've decided to do this.
- 0:54SPEAKER_02: I'm excited to see how it goes.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: Today we're going to try something new.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: We're going to actually put some scripture on the screen here in a little bit and um see um how that works for this podcast because we've not done that before, but we want to be able to actually show you the word of God, not just tell you the word of God, so that way you can see it for yourself.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: And um Bethany and I both use the Gateway Bible um on, you know, through the internet, and it works pretty good.
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: I believe that on Gateway you can change which Bible you use, can you not?
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:26SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:27SPEAKER_02: I've always just gone to King James version, so I didn't even check that on Gateway.
- 1:31SPEAKER_02: Now I know a new version on my phone.
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: You can go to all the different types of Bibles, so I assumed that you probably could on Gateway.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: Thanks for that.
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: So, Bethany, do you want to um finish telling us you know about your testimony and your story today?
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Um this episode, I want to share why I'm so passionate about um helping people understand that not only does God work through situations, but we also have an enemy, Satan.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: And he he's the one who steals, kills, and destroys.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: It's not God.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: God has a beautiful plan for each of our lives, and so let's find out together what the truth is about our enemy and about how we can live victoriously in God's truth and not be bound by Satan's grip.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: Now, in John chapter nine, I will share my screen.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: See if that works.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: See if it's gonna pop up.
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: There we go.
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: Okay, I gotcha.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: No.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: Um this experience, the Jesus is on earth, and he's in his ministry with his disciples, and there's a man who was born blind, and as you can see there on the screen, um verse one tells of what um the disciples are asking for verse two, I believe it is, and then verse three, Jesus reveals the purpose.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: And I've heard people ask, you know, if God if God is so loving, then why are people born with different challenges?
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: Well, John 9 3 gives us, I think, a clear example of one reason, and it's for God's work to be made manifest.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: I strongly believe that God creates everyone as he sees fit for their lives.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: Now, does that mean necessarily that Satan is restrained at that time from working is evil?
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: Honestly, I I don't know.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: I um that's for God to know and for us to trust, I believe.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: And so I as we look at John 9, we look at that man, we look at the disciples' question.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: And if we analyze, if we take time to analyze their question, it's a pretty logical question.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: It would, I mean, I think any of us would be asking that question or some some form of that.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: And yet Jesus' response there should indicate to us that, like I said, God creates everyone as he sees fit, and it's for his work to be made manifest.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: Now, I I've also heard people say, well, it's God's will, or um it's for God's glory.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: And then I've also heard naysayers who say, Well, why would God do that?
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: Why would it why would that bring God glory?
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: And I can't speak for God.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: That to me that is one way God asks us to trust him to realize that okay, he knows the reason, and we just have to trust.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: Now we do see in John 9, continuing on there, that can you scroll down?
- 8:53SPEAKER_02: Because all I can see is one, two, and a little bit of three.
- 8:57unknown: Yes.
- 8:57SPEAKER_02: If you don't mind scrolling down, and then also can you also read the scripture?
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: Because some of our um listeners are listening audibly and they may not be able to see what um we're showing.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: Perfect.
- 9:11SPEAKER_02: That's perfect.
- 9:12SPEAKER_02: Oh, you went too far.
- 9:14SPEAKER_02: Gotta go back up.
- 9:19SPEAKER_02: That's good, right there.
- 9:20SPEAKER_02: Perfect.
- 9:21SPEAKER_02: Good.
- 9:22SPEAKER_02: So I got nine.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: Um, I got chapter nine, verses one through seven showing.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes.
- 9:28SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: All right, so um, verse one then, for those listening.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Verse two, and his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did send this man or his parents that he was born blind?
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: Verse three.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: Jesus answered, Neither had this man sinned nor his parents, but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: And then verse six, verse six, when he had thus spoken he spat on the ground and made clay of the spill, and he anointed the eyes of a blind man with the clay.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: Verse seven, and said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Saloon, which is by interpretation sent.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: He went his way therefore and washed, and came seen.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: And so that miracle that Jesus did is very profound, I believe, to understand that.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: Yes, there are people who are born with chances.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: And yet that doesn't necessarily that I should say that never means that God makes mistakes because he does not.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: He never makes a mistake.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: And they say, well, you know, God certainly couldn't have had this in mind, but remember, that's where Satan comes in.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: Satan is the thief.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: Now even it's amazing to me that God knew Lucifer before Lucifer became Satan.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: That and that would be for another episode, but that that's just interesting to me that to understand that God knew Lucifer before he became Satan.
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: Well, God is actually with Lucifer in heaven before earth was created.
- 13:39SPEAKER_02: And he was one of his most um precious angels.
- 13:41SPEAKER_02: He was beautiful.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 13:44SPEAKER_02: So that's that's mind-blowing when you think about that and how the enemy can actually do that.
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: I wanted to touch base real quick on this scripture, if you don't mind that.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: Um this kind of reminds me of like we were talking about before we started recording about where it talks about his parents.
- 14:00SPEAKER_02: How um a lot of times doctors and people will say, oh, it's genetic, oh, it's this, oh it's that.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: Maybe um maybe the parent was a drug addict, and um I don't know if you've heard of the term like the meth baby, you know, babies that are born because their parents, you know, did meth meth amphetamine.
- 14:18SPEAKER_02: So um the thing that's interesting is not every baby that comes from a parent with meth comes out of a meth baby.
- 14:26SPEAKER_02: And and I've heard people say, well, how come that one did, but that one didn't?
- 14:29SPEAKER_02: That's why God's divine, or you know, design, I mean.
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: That was his choice.
- 14:34SPEAKER_02: He chose to let that happen.
- 14:36SPEAKER_02: And people would say, well, why would he pick and choose which one gets to be the meth baby and which one doesn't?
- 14:41SPEAKER_02: God has a purpose because that child's gonna live out that purpose and probably be a huge testimony for Christ.
- 14:50SPEAKER_02: And I think that's where God gets glorified is to you know to say, you know what, yeah, I was born with um, you know, this addiction because my mother was an addictive person, had an addictive personality.
- 15:00SPEAKER_02: Now I'm a meth child.
- 15:02SPEAKER_02: So um I think a lot of kids or a lot of people they want to blame somebody for the way that they turned out, they don't want to just accept how they turned out, you know, and that's really hard when you have you're facing with challenges, especially medical conditions.
- 15:18SPEAKER_02: So but anyway, I would just want to throw that in there real quick for you.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: That's great.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: Thank you for that.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's when people don't understand how God works and He all his attributes, and to recognize that all of those attributes make up just one person.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: And even though right now that person is invisible to us, for the Christian, one day he's not gonna be invisible.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: We're gonna see him face to face, and that to me, that is one exciting reality.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: That is something that keeps me going.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: I so it's it's just amazing to recognize that reality, but getting back to you know what why do I have such a passion?
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: Why do I have such a desire for Christians to understand that it's not God who is the thief, it's not God who intentionally works things against us because he loves us so much to be able to want that relationship with us, that most intimate relationship.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: And so Romans chapter eight and verse twenty eight says and we know that all of them work together for good.
- 18:17SPEAKER_02: It hasn't changed yet on the screen yet.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 18:20SPEAKER_02: Did it change on yours yet?
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: So um for the other verses I'll just read them.
- 18:40SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: So Romans eight twenty-eight says, and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are decalled according to his purpose.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: Notice there that it says all things work together for good working together.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: That when we take the time to really consider that, I think there's a freedom that comes from understanding that yes, certain things in our lives may seem disconnected, and yet God is working things together.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: Now, notice that it says for those who love God and for those called according to his purpose.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: So there are two conditions there, and maybe someone would say, well, what about the rest of society?
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: What what how and I think that's where we also need to understand that before people become Christians, it's amazing to see how God has even given them the opportunity to see himself, I believe.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: No, they don't they don't necessarily understand it as God, and yet it's it is interesting to see how God works even for them, and he's drawing them to himself, and so all things working together for good is one of God's ultimate goals, I believe, in people's lives.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: He Like we've said, you know, he he knew Lucifer, he created him, and yet Lucifer chose what he did to become Satan.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: And so when we recognize how awesome, how powerful, how loving, and so much more that God truly is.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: It's like um God does work and things you know, I I go back to my birth and my voice quality is a result of being on a ventilator for eight weeks after being born at twenty-four and a half weeks.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: And so even that, I'm starting over the years, and even just recently, God has really impressed upon me that he wants me to get his message out of how he has used my life and just to help people understand that when things come into your life, when you don't understand why, when you're tempted to question God and say, God, why?
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: Why did you do this?
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: Remember, we do have an enemy, and one of his main purposes is to keep people as far away from God as he possibly can, and his working is quite subtle, it's sneaky, it's and that too is for another episode.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: But it to be able to understand that, you know, the reality is God is so loving, so kind, so compassionate, so hungry for humanity to spend time with him, to not be distracted by so much that, and I I'm not talking about neglecting necessities.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: I'm talking about, okay, you're scrolling through Facebook or Instagram or you're spending time almost aimlessly when you could be spending that time really diving deep into the Bible, not just taking time daily to read it, but to actually study it and understand what it says.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, how how many times do we get James 4 7?
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: Again, another episode to talk further about that, but James 4-7, submit yourselves, therefore, to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: How many times has that gotten reversed?
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: And to really understand how easy that is.
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: One mental visual God has given me that has just been giving me a fire for recognizing how do we respond.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: And that visual is having God and Satan standing in front of you.
- 28:02SPEAKER_00: And whenever a negative thought or an urgency thought or something that you don't understand to be from God.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: Whenever those come into your mind, that's like leaving God standing while you go with Satan.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: And that visual should be one of the most convicting, I believe, to understand that.
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: So whenever I submit to Satan, whenever I submit to one of his thoughts, an urgency thought or a negative thought, or however he works in your life.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: That means you're leaving God.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: Again, for another episode, but it I'm I have such a passion for helping people realize that we don't we don't want to leave people.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: We don't want to leave God.
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: We don't want to question his goodness.
- 30:25SPEAKER_00: We don't want to question his doings, and also we want to understand for another episode too, um how Satan's working in situations is not part of God's will.
- 31:16SPEAKER_00: And so the other two verses that give us an understanding somewhat of why God can be trusted completely.
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: One of them is Psalm one forty five Psalm one forty-five, verse three.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: Trust in the Lord.
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: Now I I don't believe that means that his greatness can't be ever, you know, searched out, but there is a degree to which our mortal mind cannot comprehend everything that God is, God does.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: And well, I won't get into all the details of that.
- 33:02SPEAKER_00: Um that's how God designed us.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: He designed us in a way that here on earth, our mortal minds are, you know, were confined by time and all that, and yet one day for Christians in eternity will be able, we'll have glorified bodies.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: We'll have we'll have bodies that will last all of eternity.
- 33:56SPEAKER_00: My voice quality issue and my other health issues will be gone.
- 34:07SPEAKER_00: And so it's exciting, huh?
- 34:16SPEAKER_00: It is very much so, and yet as we're here now on earth, recognizing that God can be trusted, and God does have a plan for each of our lives.
- 34:46SPEAKER_00: And now the final verse, Psalm 147, verse five.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: Great is our Lord and of great power.
- 35:06SPEAKER_00: His understanding is infinite, and that's also one area where the Lord is just burdening me that people need to take time to study that to really understand that we're you know here we're fine.
- 35:49SPEAKER_00: But in eternity will be infinite.
- 35:58SPEAKER_00: And so that is encouraging, and I trust that this time has been helpful for you to really understand.
- 36:14SPEAKER_00: Okay, we God knows what he's doing in each of our lives.
- 36:28SPEAKER_00: He understands what he allows to come into our lives.
- 36:39SPEAKER_00: He is asking us to trust him, I believe, in a greater way than maybe we want to, and yet how important is it to take hold of that truth that he is loving, he created us, he creates everyone with his purpose for their lives.
- 37:16SPEAKER_00: He never makes mistakes and just to really understand that it is Satan who steals, kills, destroys.
- 37:39SPEAKER_00: God doesn't bring things into our lives that resemble Satan's work.
- 37:47SPEAKER_00: And like I say, I I do have a deep burden for people to recognize that truth, that we should not ever stop reading our Bible.
- 38:12SPEAKER_00: We should never stop praying all because something comes into our lives where we're tempted to think that, oh, God must not love me here.
- 38:28SPEAKER_00: That's directly from Satan.
- 38:32SPEAKER_00: That and I just I'm yeah, deeply, deeply burdened that people understand.
- 38:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 38:57SPEAKER_02: So I think there's a lot to um, you know, all of those scriptures actually, but going back to John 9, uh John 9, when the disciples are asking Jesus, well, how did this happen?
- 39:11SPEAKER_02: Was it him or was it his parents that caused this?
- 39:15SPEAKER_02: I I know a lot of people, like I said, blame their parents.
- 39:18SPEAKER_02: Um have you ever felt that way in your life with the you know, with the challenges you face?
- 39:23SPEAKER_02: Did you ever wonder, like, you know, is this something that you know um God allowed me to have because of something my parents did?
- 39:31SPEAKER_02: Did you ever have did that ever cross your mind?
- 39:36SPEAKER_00: That never has.
- 39:38SPEAKER_00: And I um another episode I will go into further detail um about even that.
- 39:55SPEAKER_02: So yeah, because that's quite a story.
- 39:57SPEAKER_02: I think that's gonna, yeah, that'll be really good for you to share.
- 40:00SPEAKER_02: Uh, the scripture I want to share is in Jeremiah um 29.11.
- 40:04SPEAKER_02: It says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
- 40:12SPEAKER_02: So a lot of people think, you know, God can be God can be pretty evil, he can be pretty wrathful.
- 40:17SPEAKER_02: And I and I I do believe that God brings consequences for certain situations.
- 40:24SPEAKER_02: But it's not because he's evil, it's because he loves us.
- 40:27SPEAKER_02: The enemy is the evil one.
- 40:29SPEAKER_02: And it's hard to teach people that because God's wrath can seem just unfathomable when he does pour out his wrath, because God's serious, he's not to be reckoned with.
- 40:41SPEAKER_02: Um, he created us, and um he can take us out if he wants to, you know.
- 40:47SPEAKER_02: Um, that doesn't mean we won't receive um eternity.
- 40:52SPEAKER_02: You know, we we might.
- 40:54SPEAKER_02: So, you know, if he takes us out, we we you know, God's time is is is his timing.
- 40:58SPEAKER_02: But I love what this verse says because it says he gives us thoughts of peace and not of evil.
- 41:04SPEAKER_02: Um and he and and and and an expected end.
- 41:09SPEAKER_02: He he already knows the ending.
- 41:11SPEAKER_02: So even though we're going through the struggle and facing whatever challenges, whether they're physically, spiritually, or mental challenges, there's all kinds of challenges.
- 41:20SPEAKER_02: Um, sometimes I see people that um um have challenges on the outside they they look normal.
- 41:27SPEAKER_02: You don't even know they have challenges.
- 41:28SPEAKER_02: I have a couple of friends that actually I just found out recently that one of my friends um is battling the challenge, and I never even knew she had that issue in her life because she just kept it.
- 41:38SPEAKER_02: She never told anybody until it started, you know, surfacing.
- 41:42SPEAKER_02: So um um she was able to just hold that whole end.
- 41:46SPEAKER_02: But God gave us such an expected end that um he wrote our story already.
- 41:52SPEAKER_02: The book our our book is already written.
- 41:55SPEAKER_02: Our whole life has been written.
- 41:56SPEAKER_02: He knows what's gonna happen tomorrow, he knows how we're gonna die, he knows when we're gonna die.
- 42:01SPEAKER_02: And sometimes when I think about it, it blows my mind.
- 42:03SPEAKER_02: I always I always talk to God and be like, okay, God, well, I know you already have a plan for me, but I don't want to be burned to death.
- 42:09SPEAKER_02: I don't like fire.
- 42:10SPEAKER_02: And you know, and I'm like, can we reason a little bit here?
- 42:14SPEAKER_02: Like, you know, and no things are gonna happen.
- 42:16SPEAKER_02: You know, I don't really want to get shot, and I don't really, you know, and there's times when I talked with God and be like, oh Lord, you know, because because some of you know some of that can bring fear to you, but even if it did happen, you know, especially in the world we're living in now, you can get just shot going to the grocery store.
- 42:32SPEAKER_02: And, you know, it it just, you know, god god knows when your time is gonna happen, and you know, heaven forbid it it could happen any moment.
- 42:40SPEAKER_02: But when we do, um when we do pass away, I'm actually hoping to be part of the rapture, me and my grandmother.
- 42:48SPEAKER_02: So I I would just love to see my grandmother raptured and not have to face death.
- 42:52SPEAKER_02: I think that would be amazing.
- 42:54SPEAKER_02: Now if that happens or not, I don't know, because she's 95 this month.
- 42:58SPEAKER_02: So we're trying to we're trying to get her to a hundred plus.
- 43:01SPEAKER_02: So um man, that would be just an amazing blessing to see that happen.
- 43:06SPEAKER_02: But even at that, I don't really fear death because I know it's on the other side.
- 43:11SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes.
- 43:12SPEAKER_02: I know in the moment it's not gonna be what I want, probably.
- 43:15SPEAKER_02: I might have to suffer a little bit, but I know on the other side, receiving a glorified body, not being sick, not being, you know, having a really clear mind, we're gonna have everything.
- 43:27SPEAKER_02: We're gonna have such an understanding of God's vision when we're sitting, you know, at you know, I think pearly gate and we're right before the throne.
- 43:34SPEAKER_02: We're gonna know what God's all about.
- 43:36SPEAKER_02: We'll get to see the magnitude of his glory.
- 43:39SPEAKER_02: I mean, gates of gold.
- 43:40SPEAKER_02: I mean, just it it's pearly gates of gold, matter of fact, you know.
- 43:45SPEAKER_02: I mean, you can't even when I when I see a sunrise or a sunset and I see how beautiful and magnificent it is, or I see some scenery that's just blows your mind, you're just like in awe over it.
- 43:56SPEAKER_02: It's nothing, nothing compared to what we're gonna see.
- 44:00SPEAKER_02: You know.
- 44:01SPEAKER_02: So that that part really does excite me.
- 44:03SPEAKER_02: But I do like the fact that um when we're, you know, with this podcast, truth be told, that we need to let people know that um God is a respecter of persons too.
- 44:16SPEAKER_02: He doesn't um often we often we will go, well, how come they have a better life?
- 44:22SPEAKER_02: How come they how come they have challenges but they don't have challenges?
- 44:25SPEAKER_02: Why did God do that to me, not to them?
- 44:27SPEAKER_02: And that is the enemy speaking those lies into your mind.
- 44:30SPEAKER_02: Those are literally lies from the enemy.
- 44:32SPEAKER_02: God doesn't do that, he's a respecter of person.
- 44:35SPEAKER_02: No matter how he created you, it is with a purpose.
- 44:39SPEAKER_02: Every single person's DNA format is uniquely designed the way God designed you.
- 44:45SPEAKER_02: He didn't leave anything out, He didn't He didn't add too much, He He gave He made you exactly the way He wanted you to be.
- 44:52SPEAKER_02: And if people would learn to understand that concept, you know how much more fruitful and joyful their life would be, and even with their challenges.
- 45:03SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 45:04SPEAKER_02: That they're gonna be able to just accept who they are and how God created them, and then go, okay, well, God created me this way, and He created me this way for a reason.
- 45:15SPEAKER_02: Um I don't understand it necessarily, right?
- 45:19SPEAKER_02: But I'm gonna I'm gonna accept it and I'm gonna I'm gonna make the best of it, you know?
- 45:23SPEAKER_02: Yes because a lot of people want to make the worst of their situations.
- 45:26SPEAKER_02: Right, yes, you know, and and they do this the victimization for me um mindset.
- 45:31SPEAKER_02: And that was me.
- 45:32SPEAKER_02: I've done that.
- 45:33SPEAKER_02: I you know, I've had that mindset, you know, after my mom died, and um I went through some manifestations after my mom passed away for about six months.
- 45:41SPEAKER_02: I didn't realize how much stuff I harbored from my birth, you know, from being born myself, being abandoned by my dad and then yo-yoed in and out of foster care most of my life and still taking care of my mom, you know.
- 45:52SPEAKER_02: And um I really didn't even realize how much I harbored until my mom passed away because I felt like I lost the only piece of my puzzle that I had in my life was her because everything else was missing.
- 46:03SPEAKER_02: And you know, and God's like, nothing's missing.
- 46:06SPEAKER_02: I'm right here.
- 46:07SPEAKER_02: You know, God really had to sit me down and go, There's nothing in the world that you need besides me.
- 46:12SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 46:13SPEAKER_02: Your pieces are all there.
- 46:15SPEAKER_02: You know, everything that's happened is for a reason.
- 46:17SPEAKER_02: And I used to think God was so unfair.
- 46:20SPEAKER_02: You know, I was like, God, why is this, you know, why do I have to be in a foster home?
- 46:24SPEAKER_02: You know, why do why can't I have you know my brothers and sisters with me?
- 46:27SPEAKER_02: Why can't, you know, just you know, we can question God all day long if we want to.
- 46:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah and we can pick at him over the funniest things.
- 46:34SPEAKER_02: Um I think Louis Giglio said it the best in one of his messages.
- 46:38SPEAKER_02: He goes, I think it's quite funny how when we go to God, we start telling, telling and asking God, and we start questioning God as if he has n nothing to say, you know.
- 46:48SPEAKER_02: And we start questioning God, and God's probably up there going, you know, because God already knows all the answers, but yet we're questioning him.
- 46:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 46:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:56SPEAKER_02: You know, he has the ultimate answer.
- 46:58SPEAKER_02: He is the ultimate.
- 47:00SPEAKER_02: And like I like that one scripture, I think it was um, must have been Psalms.
- 47:06SPEAKER_02: I just hit a button on my phone, darn it.
- 47:08SPEAKER_02: Um been doing that in a lot today.
- 47:11SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna go back to that real quick because I wanted to point that out.
- 47:15SPEAKER_02: I think it was 145.
- 47:19SPEAKER_02: It was so good.
- 47:26SPEAKER_02: You said 145, right?
- 47:28SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 47:29SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 47:33SPEAKER_02: I believe it was three.
- 47:35SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 47:37SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 47:38SPEAKER_02: Oh, it must have been the 47.
- 47:39SPEAKER_02: That's okay.
- 47:40SPEAKER_02: Uh let me go to that one.
- 47:41SPEAKER_02: And that one was five.
- 47:44SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 47:45SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 47:45SPEAKER_02: So it says, Great is our Lord and of great power.
- 47:48SPEAKER_02: His understanding is infinite.
- 47:51SPEAKER_02: Like there, like, there's nothing that can measure up to what God has.
- 47:57SPEAKER_02: Nothing.
- 47:58SPEAKER_02: Nothing that we do um as a single person.
- 48:01SPEAKER_02: Like nothing, nothing is more infinite than God.
- 48:05SPEAKER_02: So it's funny how you you said, you know, when when that God knew um Lucifer before he became Satan.
- 48:12SPEAKER_02: And you know, and and God love and God's God loves Satan.
- 48:15SPEAKER_02: I know this is gonna sound crazy, but God does love Satan, believe it or not.
- 48:18SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 48:19SPEAKER_02: But Satan wanted God's power.
- 48:21SPEAKER_02: So he said, Well, if you want to see how powerful you are, he cast him down to the earth and he gave him power over the earth.
- 48:28SPEAKER_02: Um, and he's been nothing but destructive.
- 48:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know, he hasn't proven a thing as far as I'm concerned.
- 48:36SPEAKER_02: So um, you know, I it's it's amazing that he took one third of the angels with him because that's how convincing he was.
- 48:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, even even as an angel up in the heavens, he was still convincing.
- 48:49SPEAKER_02: So if he can convince angelic angels to follow him down, that's how how devious the enemy can be.
- 48:58SPEAKER_02: That's why we need to be aware.
- 49:00SPEAKER_02: We are supposed to be paying attention always.
- 49:02SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes, and we need to take every thought captive.
- 49:05SPEAKER_02: So if we're saying, you know, God doesn't love us, God doesn't care, why did he make us this way?
- 49:11SPEAKER_02: You know, you know, why why why would he give me these challenges and not somebody else?
- 49:16SPEAKER_02: That is the enemy.
- 49:17SPEAKER_02: That is a lie from the enemy.
- 49:19SPEAKER_02: And so I think it's good that we're sharing that and we're addressing it today because um somebody out there listening is saying that to themselves right now, and we want to help them to understand that that's not God saying that.
- 49:31SPEAKER_02: That is literally the enemy whispering that garbage in your ears.
- 49:34SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 49:35SPEAKER_02: We want to expose that lie and let people know God doesn't talk like that about us at all.
- 49:41SPEAKER_02: No, he really doesn't have that type of I I I can't even imagine God having that kind of verbiage because it's so immature to him, I'm sure.
- 49:48SPEAKER_02: He's probably like you know, that's so immature, you know.
- 49:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 49:52SPEAKER_02: But you know, that's just that's just because we're, you know, that's our human nature.
- 49:55SPEAKER_02: That's kind of just the way we behave and act.
- 49:58SPEAKER_02: Um, and that's because the enemy likes to whisper those things in our ear, you know.
- 50:03SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 50:03SPEAKER_02: So we gotta be really careful and and we need to be mindful of that.
- 50:07SPEAKER_02: So but as far as today goes, we gotta start wrapping up our our our um our podcast there.
- 50:12SPEAKER_02: But um thank you for sharing that scripture with us.
- 50:16SPEAKER_02: And um, I got a lot out of it, and I'm hoping all of our listeners did too.
- 50:21SPEAKER_02: And I hope on our next episode um you can you know share a little bit more about your the rest of your testimony, um, because you do have quite a testimony.
- 50:30SPEAKER_02: And what I love about it is that through your challenges, um I'm sure the enemy has tried to stop you.
- 50:38SPEAKER_02: I mean, he's I mean he's he's literally tried to stop you since you were you you were created, like in your mother's womb, created, like seriously tried to take you out.
- 50:47SPEAKER_02: And um God said no, I made it by design and and I have a purpose.
- 50:52SPEAKER_02: And I don't when were you when you got or how old were you when you got saved?
- 50:57SPEAKER_00: I was seven.
- 50:59SPEAKER_02: Seven.
- 51:00SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 51:01SPEAKER_02: That's amazing.
- 51:02SPEAKER_02: A lot of people can't even get saved until they're 40 or 50.
- 51:05SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 51:06SPEAKER_02: You know, so so that I mean that again in itself tells me that God had a purpose for you.
- 51:12SPEAKER_02: He knew He knew you were gonna get saved at seven, and He knew you were gonna run with it.
- 51:15SPEAKER_02: Um so He basically handed you the baton on getting His word out there.
- 51:20SPEAKER_02: And and I love that.
- 51:21SPEAKER_02: And and I love that you're not afraid and that you're bold and that you don't let anything hold you back.
- 51:26SPEAKER_02: Because there's a lot of people that don't have challenges that don't do what you're doing, that should be doing what you're doing, you know, and I think it's wonderful.
- 51:33SPEAKER_02: Um I was saved at 10 years old, um, but I wasn't discipled after I became saved, so I was kind of a I was a running mess actually as a kid running around, running them up, because I didn't know, you know, what this Jesus was.
- 51:46SPEAKER_02: I knew I had Jesus and He was like my best friend.
- 51:48SPEAKER_02: I was so excited to have him in my life.
- 51:51SPEAKER_02: I just didn't know how I was supposed to live for him or be in obedience.
- 51:55SPEAKER_02: So as we're talking about the truth and the word of God, it's really important that we learn what his obedience is because that's even more blessings that he's gonna pour upon us.
- 52:04SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes I think that's awesome.
- 52:06SPEAKER_02: So in one of our next episodes, as you said earlier, um uh we will dove into some of those.
- 52:12SPEAKER_02: But today, um, I hope our listeners have enjoyed everything and all of the scripture that you shared.
- 52:18SPEAKER_02: And um I think we will go going forward, we'll just read the scripture.
- 52:23SPEAKER_02: I think it works better that way.
- 52:25SPEAKER_02: Yes, we don't have any glitches or anything, but but it's okay.
- 52:29SPEAKER_02: You know, there it wasn't much on my end.
- 52:30SPEAKER_02: I don't know how it was on your end as far as glitches go, but um I um I couldn't see you scrolling and stuff a couple times, but that's okay.
- 52:39SPEAKER_02: But to all of our listeners out there, um, we just want to say that we love you and God loves you, and the enemy is a liar, and if he's trying to take you out, if he's trying to discourage you, um just remember you just need a little mustard seed of faith.
- 52:55SPEAKER_02: That's it.
- 52:55SPEAKER_02: That's all you need.
- 52:56SPEAKER_02: It's it's so minute, it's so little.
- 52:59SPEAKER_02: God does not ask really for much.
- 53:02SPEAKER_02: It may seem like a lot, but it's really not.
- 53:05SPEAKER_02: You know, just a mustard seed of faith is what the word says.
- 53:08SPEAKER_02: And so I just want to encourage you that if the enemy is is um you know on your back and in your ear and and just just you know gossiping, he's a gossiping liar, is what the enemy is.
- 53:19SPEAKER_02: If he's doing this to you, just know this God created you already with purpose, he has a plan for you.
- 53:26SPEAKER_02: And don't ever give up and just keep pressing into him, just keep getting into the word um because his word will teach you, it will show you, and it will help you to step away from the enemy, and it'll help you recognize what the enemy is trying to do in your life.
- 53:41SPEAKER_02: So um, I hope that you all have enjoyed this episode, and I am going to um close for now.
- 53:46SPEAKER_02: Bethany, do you have anything you want to say?
- 53:50SPEAKER_02: Okay, I'm gonna close this out in prayer.
- 53:52SPEAKER_02: Father God, Lord, we just thank you so much.
- 53:54SPEAKER_02: Lord, I thank you for Bethany.
- 53:56SPEAKER_02: I thank you for her life, Lord, all of it from start to where we are today, Lord.
- 54:00SPEAKER_02: I just thank you for um her um encouragement and her willingness to serve you, Lord.
- 54:05SPEAKER_02: I know that your word says that you know, if we're just willing to go, you'll show us the way.
- 54:09SPEAKER_02: We just have to run with it, Lord.
- 54:11SPEAKER_02: And we just thank you for protecting us and watching over us.
- 54:14SPEAKER_02: We know the enemy is a liar, Lord.
- 54:16SPEAKER_02: We just ask that you just help us to have a vision and a clear mind that we can capture each thought that comes into our mind, that the enemy cannot have a stronghold in our life.
- 54:24SPEAKER_02: Lord, help us to recognize what those strongholds are.
- 54:27SPEAKER_02: Lord, we just thank you for your abundant love.
- 54:29SPEAKER_02: We thank you for everything that you do in our lives.
- 54:31SPEAKER_02: And Lord, we just want to glorify you in all things.
- 54:34SPEAKER_02: Lord, I just ask that you just let this episode reach people that need to hear your word, Lord.
- 54:38SPEAKER_02: We just want to share your word abroad.
- 54:40SPEAKER_02: We just want the truth to be told, Lord.
- 54:41SPEAKER_02: We just thank you so much for this time.
- 54:43SPEAKER_02: We just honor you and praise you.
- 54:44SPEAKER_02: In Jesus' name I pray.
- 54:46SPEAKER_02: Amen.
- 54:47SPEAKER_02: All right, everyone.
- 54:48SPEAKER_02: I hope you have a great day.
- 54:50SPEAKER_02: And God bless and take care.
