- 0:13Well, welcome to The Last Hope of a Dying Republic, folks.
- 0:16I am your host, Reverend Bill Cook, founder and CEO of America's Black Robe Regiment, a national association of clergy that's striving to secure the blessings of liberty to our own generation and the next.
- 0:29Thank you for being with us today.
- 0:31We are so excited to be part of the Morning in America broadcast series on America out loud, and hope that you will join us on a weekly basis.
- 0:39As we say every week, in case you're wondering what the Black Robe Regiment is, it's an historical term that the British used when referring to the American clergy who fought in the Revolutionary War, who the British blamed for what they called the rebellion, what we call the fight for liberty in our nation.
- 0:58Today the Black Robert Regiment's raising up courageous pastors throughout the United States to secure liberty to our own generation and the next.
- 1:11We are not just raising up pastors, we're raising up patriots, and you may be maybe just the one needed to save this republic.
- 1:18I believe all of us have a role to play.
- 1:21For more information on the on America's Black Robe Regiment, go to our website at Br USA.org.
- 1:30Our guest today is someone who has been doing his part to be the hope of the dying republic.
- 1:36And we have with us today.
- 1:40Sorry, my blank.
- 1:43Doug Small.
- 1:44We will do that all over again.
- 1:46We have somebody who edits this for us.
- 1:48Our guest today is someone who has been doing his part to be the hope of the dying republic.
- 1:53We have it that's Doug Small.
- 1:57And Doug is with an organization called Prayer at the Heart.
- 2:02And he and his organization are praying for America's next great awakening, which is the timing is just perfect with it being the 250th birthday of our nation.
- 2:15So he's going to share with us this uh very exciting movement.
- 2:23Doug, you believe America's facing a real crisis of faith and hope.
- 2:27So what are you seeing that led you to that conclusion?
- 2:30Well, I mean, if you if you just look back beyond this current generation, uh, you had a generation that told us for eight years that America was no longer a Christian nation.
- 2:39You had Camilla saying to us that there would be no exceptions in Catholic hospitals for abortions.
- 2:46You had this investment of authority in the state, not in God, uh, no more inalienable rights.
- 2:54Um we were we were really headed for the guillotine, and we've been given a reprieve now, but if we believe our hope is in Washington, we are as delusional as the people were in the days of Josiah.
- 3:07Uh President Trump's executive orders will be like Josiah's decrees, dead the day he leaves office.
- 3:13We have to have something bottom up.
- 3:15We have to have a grassroots revival.
- 3:18It it took a great awakening to give birth to the nation.
- 3:23There would have been no spiritual awakening, there would be no nation apart from that spiritual awakening driven by Whitfield and others.
- 3:30And now we need nothing less than a great awakening to save the nation.
- 3:35Amen.
- 3:37When you look at the statistics showing a declining biblical worldview in America and rising anxiety, especially among the younger generation, what does that tell you tell you about what our culture is uh spiritually?
- 3:50Well, it tells us terrible things, but it also tells us something else.
- 3:54Something hopeful.
- 3:55That the only thing when you reach the bottom of that barrel that can fill the vacuum of your heart is the father love of God manifest in Christ and made real to us by the Holy Spirit.
- 4:09We may not be post-Christian.
- 4:11Most of us think we are, but we actually may be pre-Christian in this sense.
- 4:17We have a whole generation that's never heard the story.
- 4:20They 99% of them in their colleges have never heard that, they never heard of creationism.
- 4:25They never, never heard a reasonable argument for God, the scripture for Christ, for creation or anything else.
- 4:32It's been an oddball thing.
- 4:35They have a hole in their heart that only God can satisfy.
- 4:40And you know, you've seen the statistics.
- 4:43They're too only two-tenths of percent above my generation, baby boomer generation, in going to church.
- 4:50They're walking into churches.
- 4:51These young kids are saying, I've never been in a church before.
- 4:54Can you tell me what to do and where to go?
- 4:57There is a hunger.
- 4:59We may be on the edge of an incredible spiritual awakening, and we dare not miss it.
- 5:06Amen.
- 5:08Historically, the Great Awakenings were very powerful movements.
- 5:12We just saw the movie The Great Awakening about George Whitfield, powerful movie.
- 5:16And uh, they were powerful movements of God.
- 5:19When did they occur and what was their distinctive of each of those three movements?
- 5:24Well, you know, the first real movement came in 1733, 34, with John and Edwards Edwards getting so passionate in his pulpit and being the preaching in uh Hampton.
- 5:38And they said that they said you could walk down a street and you could see families on either side gathered at their fireplace praying and doing doing devotions together.
- 5:48Now, this came out of the halfway covenant.
- 5:51You can't sit for communion, but we don't want you to leave the church.
- 5:55So stay.
- 5:56Be halfway Christians, because maybe we can reach our children.
- 5:59And then in 39, Whitfield made the first of his seven trips here, the last in 70, and that from 7039, 1743.
- 6:09The colonies reached a boiling point.
- 6:1280% of the colonialists heard him preach in person.
- 6:1712 to 15% made fresh commitments to Christ.
- 6:20Some say as much as 20%.
- 6:22It changed the trajectory of the nation.
- 6:26They didn't know who Washington was, and at that point, they didn't know who Jefferson was, Adams was, but they knew who Whitfield was.
- 6:32And Whitfield told them you're really not Baptists or Anglicans or Episcopalians or Quakers, your first Christians.
- 6:43And suddenly the colonies that were in conflict with one another over religious ideas, found a transcendent identity in Christ alone.
- 6:53And that bound them together.
- 6:55And of course, the second Great Awakening, the Great Camp Meetings and Finney and some talk about the New York revival as being an awakening, 1858.
- 7:00And and uh and some talk about the New York revival as being an awakening, 1858.
- 7:05That was a noontime prayer meeting that spilled over in the city.
- 7:05That was a noontime prayer meeting that spilled over in the city.
- 7:09Then you have the whales movement and the Azusha Street, extremely experientialism, and then the Jesus movement.
- 7:09Then you have the whales movement and the Azusa Street, extremely experientialism, and then the Jesus movement.
- 7:16Let me just make one comment, and Bill, you'll appreciate it.
- 7:16Let me just make one comment, and Bill, you'll appreciate it.
- 7:19Coming from a wild-eyed Pentecostal like me, you as a Presbyterian will appreciate this.
- 7:19Coming from a wild eyed Pentecostal like me, you as a Presbyterian will appreciate this.
- 7:24If we have an experience-based revival, it will not change this nation.
- 7:24If we have an experience based revival, it will not change the
- 7:31We cannot have simply a spiritual buzz.
- 7:34We have to go back to the deep theological roots that characterize the first great awakening.
- 7:42This has to be a Bible awakening as much as it is a spirit and Christ awakening.
- 7:50Amen.
- 7:50Some say that the American Revolution uh was born out of the Great Awakening.
- 7:56I think you mentioned the Black Robe Regiment earlier.
- 7:59There's no doubt, you know, uh Fuelinghausen, I think I'm saying is probably not putting his name right, and Whitfield and Edwards and a host of others began to preach until they until they motivated pastors to begin to preach substantive messages to engage the congregations.
- 8:18And that that brought revival to the churches, and you know when the revolution came, they took off their clerical garments and revealed uh military uniforms and said, Let's go fight the British.
- 8:30Only about 20, maybe 30 percent wanted a revolution.
- 8:3520 percent packed up their bags and went back to Europe.
- 8:38Most didn't care.
- 8:40That's where we are today.
- 8:41That's why I say we need to see about 35 million people tithe of the nation saved, plus the six to nine percent that are Bible Christians, and that would give us a sociological push that we need to see this nation have a spiritual uh revolution.
- 9:01Amen.
- 9:02Well, you know, back in uh 1734, people were attending churches.
- 9:08It's because it was very much a cultural thing to attend a church.
- 9:12Every small town had a church, and the church was the center of colonial life.
- 9:18But how many people were really committed, how many had really committed their lives to Christ uh was a different story altogether.
- 9:28So as a matter of fact, what I've read is that if you wanted to be a um, you know, to be a recognized um honorable person of the community to uh run for office or teach school or be a doctor, you had to go to church because nobody would have anything to do with you in terms of supporting your uh your business or unless you were a member, not just attending church, but a member of church of a church.
- 10:00So I think I people may be confused and think like, well, I thought everybody was Christian back then.
- 10:06Why did they need an awakening?
- 10:08Well, they we needed an awakening because it had become less dependent upon God.
- 10:13When they when the pilgrims first came here and the Puritans came here, life was very difficult for the for the uh colonists.
- 10:21And and you know, we still, if we think back on their lives, we think, well, yeah, it was still really hard.
- 10:27I mean, they didn't have automatic washing machines or dishwashers, and they worked the farms, you know, life was difficult.
- 10:33But compared to being so dependent for just where is my next meal going to come from, like the pilgrims and the puritans for a while, um, life had become more comfortable, and that's how people uh just grew up apart from God.
- 10:48And so that's why the revival was needed.
- 10:52I just thought I'd throw that in there.
- 10:54They they were they were they were committed to church because of the social center.
- 10:58It was a mall.
- 10:58It was a place where you met people, but they didn't know Christ.
- 11:02And uh that's the problem we have today.
- 11:04We have a lot of superficial Christians who who are who are committed to church or some modicum of of morality, deistic moralism, as it's called, but they don't, but they don't know Christ.
- 11:17One survey said half all the girls of marriageable age were pregnant by the time they got married.
- 11:22We were really in an abysmal state in the early 1700s.
- 11:27We needed, as we do now, desperately a spiritual awakening.
- 11:32Amen.
- 11:33Now you're calling for one million Christians to pray for one million people.
- 11:38What inspired that specific vision and why is prayer at the center of it?
- 11:41Well, I I had a I was meeting with Billy Kim in South Korea.
- 11:46He translated for Billy Graham for his largest ever crusade.
- 11:49Um goodness gracious, uh, 50 years ago, a little more than that now.
- 11:54And the next day I was meeting with Nam Su Choi, who sent the Korean teams, and in that night I had a restless night, and God said, I don't say this often.
- 12:06I I felt I got out of bed.
- 12:08I finally just got up and I said, Lord, what I know this is not insomnia.
- 12:11What do you want?
- 12:12And I just as clear as a bell, I want you to mobilize one million people to see one million people saved.
- 12:18And so we started that that process.
- 12:29Close to a half a million, and we may have already seen as many as 100,000 people come to Christ.
- 12:35And and so it was that vision to mobilize ordinary people to break their silence and share Christ that moved me to do this.
- 12:48Are you involved?
- 12:49Are you doing anything with Hank Irwin?
- 12:52And is the prayer movement?
- 12:54He's he it's a he's uh he's a he's a strategic, he's a strategic partner with us, and we help we help promote that, and he is and he's helped us lifted his voice, and then uh uh Louis Palau, Kevin Palau's Bless Every Home, they are partners with us in this, and uh and so many others are uh as as well.
- 13:17I think there are about 25 denominations or partners working with us on this uh on this project.
- 13:24Wonderful.
- 13:25Well, we're partnering with you.
- 13:26I'm gonna say that here today that America's Black Robe Regiment is consider us a partner.
- 13:31And uh I don't know where you write that down, where it gets written down.
- 13:35Um this prayer the You have a few persons.
- 13:39Have you personally seen a family member or friend of yours come to faith in Christ after you've prayed for them?
- 13:45They're so salvation.
- 13:47Certainly.
- 13:48Uh I I was remembering this morning rehearsing an uncle of mine who was deep in sin, and and he was the only transportation I had as a young teenage preacher to go to a church.
- 14:01And uh when we started back home after that Sunday morning service, a church that my present wife attended in those days, but I didn't know her that way.
- 14:01And uh when we started back home after that Sunday morning service, a church that my present wife attended in those days, but I didn't know her that way.
- 14:10But anyway, we started back home, he began to weep.
- 14:10But anyway, we started back home, he began to weep.
- 14:13And he pounded the steering wheel, and he began to say, it's real, it's real.
- 14:13And he pounded the steering wheel, and he began to say, It's real, it's real.
- 14:17I can't run from it anymore.
- 14:17I can't run from it anymore, it's real.
- 14:18It's real.
- 14:20I've got two grandsons right now that are just I've got I've got five children and 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
- 14:20I've got two grandsons right now that are just I've got I've got five children and 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
- 14:27I'm 107 years old.
- 14:27I'm 107 years old.
- 14:30But I have got two of them that have just turned off fate.
- 14:34We took them to grandkids' camps.
- 14:36We did all kinds of things with them.
- 14:38And and Barbara and I weep almost every day.
- 14:41God, would you touch them?
- 14:42Would you bring them to you yourself?
- 14:44And here's what Paul said.
- 14:45He said, You pray that a door might be open for the gospel to go forth.
- 14:51And I would just encourage people that are in front of closed doors and closed hearts.
- 14:56Pray, and the Holy Spirit will pick that lock and he will dance in their dreams and he will call them back to himself.
- 15:04We're saying, Bill, pray for 10, care for five, have coffee with five.
- 15:12Look for the opportunity to share the gospel with three with the hope of winning one by Pentecost Sunday.
- 15:1810, 5, 3, 1.
- 15:23Well, you know, one doesn't seem like very many people to be praying for.
- 15:27But when you think about it, if if 50 million people do sign up to do this, and God does answer the prayer for just one.
- 15:38Now you're saying start with 10, have a have a big vision.
- 15:42But if you at least have one who does uh give their lives to Christ, then that's 50 million new believers in our nation.
- 15:54And here's here's here's here's the thing.
- 15:59You know, it's it's it's God's plan is strange.
- 16:03It's not the old people who have babies, it's the young people who have babies.
- 16:08It's the ones you're not doctrinally ready to start mentoring the noise.
- 16:12Those are the ones because it's the freshness of their faith.
- 16:15That one million will win two, and they'll win four, and they'll win and they'll win eight until we see this snowball begin to gain traction.
- 16:23Right.
- 16:24And you're mentioning families.
- 16:26If you lead uh a husband or a wife to the Lord and they have children, that multiplies exponentially.
- 16:35So the numbers could be double that in just a few years.
- 16:41If if a father influences a wife, a wife influences a husband, uh the parents influence their children.
- 16:48So it's it sounds very modest.
- 16:51When I first read it, I thought, they're just praying for one person.
- 16:56You know, where's their visions?
- 16:58One, that's not very many, but when you think about it, if 50 people actually do it, right?
- 17:03And they each bring one, and it's not overwhelming.
- 17:07It's no, you're not asking people to go knock on the doors and you know in their community, which is nothing wrong with that, but but it's certainly a lot easier to pray than it is to go door to door to you know, 25 streets in your town.
- 17:23So so you know, so the New Testament uses this wonderful word, uh, oikas.
- 17:28And it has to do with family, has to do with your circle of influence.
- 17:32And so when the gospel comes into a circle of influence into a family, it affects the balance.
- 17:37It's like somebody getting in a rowboat.
- 17:39It affects the balance of that entire family, changes the ethos, the culture of that entire family.
- 17:46So we know if we can get if we can get an Ananias to hear the spirit and go talk to a guy on Straight Street, we can change the world.
- 17:55If we can get a Philip in Samaria to head to Gaza and hitchhike in a chariot, it could change a nation, a nation that's impacted 2,000 years later.
- 18:05So one person praying for one person, one person praying for 10, caring for five, sharing with three, winning one.
- 18:13Amen.

- 20:32Often the question is Google an untrustworthy player in the AI race.

- 21:10And this is a prayer effort to spark revival during this 250th birthday of our nation.
- 21:16Dr.
- 21:16Dr.
- 21:17Samwall, this prayer initiative is happening between Passover and Pentecost.
- 21:17Samwall, this prayer initiative is happening between Passover and Pentecost.
- 21:21What's the spiritual significance of that 50-day window?
- 21:21What's the spiritual significance of that 50 day window?
- 21:24Well, you you've got two harvest Sundays there.
- 21:24Well, you you've got two harvest Sundays there.
- 21:27You've got Easter, which people naturally gravitate.
- 21:27You've got Easter, which people naturally gravitate.
- 21:30But you've got Pentecost, which is the biblical harvest day for the Jewish uh people.
- 21:35It's the day when the Lord gave them the law, and it's the day when we believe the Lord writes the law of the Spirit in our heart for mission.
- 21:42And it should be a harvest Sunday.
- 21:44On that harvest Sunday, you had uh 3,000 people saved from 15 nations.
- 21:51They didn't stay in Jerusalem.
- 21:52They took the gospel out of uh out of out of uh out of Jerusalem.
- 21:57So we're praying that God would begin the process again of saving a million people who would have a missional impact around around the world.
- 22:08Now, this is our first phase.
- 22:10We're gonna introduce what we call uh extra innings around Pentecost Sunday, and it's around the July 4th weekend.
- 22:17We're gonna encourage churches to have what we call sunrise services.
- 22:21You know, in that movie Awakening, there was a symbol of the sun behind uh uh Washington, and Franklin asked the question is is it rising or is it setting?
- 22:32And it's the question we have to ask.
- 22:34Is the sun on America rising or is the sun on America setting?
- 22:39And a great awakening would absolutely guarantee that we would get an extension of time.
- 22:45And so if you say to everybody, just pray all the time for people to be saved, they won't do it.
- 22:52But if you put a kind of guardrail on it and say, let's do a sprint here for 50 days.
- 22:58Let's let's let's commit together and see what all of us pushing at this thing can accomplish in 50 days.
- 23:06Then we'll turn around and we'll do this again next year, going after not one million but two or whatever the Lord uh puts upon our heart after we evaluate where we are.
- 23:17How does that work?
- 23:18Well, people uh so you register online, correct?
- 23:24Do you register as per church or individual?
- 23:27How is this working to be church?
- 23:29You can do both.
- 23:30You can register as an individual, you can register as a church.
- 23:33Uh, we still are looking for people who would be advocates for us uh at the county level, uh, the city level, the state level.
- 23:42I think we've got representatives working in 45 states.
- 23:45I don't really know the number in the counties, but we're still looking for people like that.
- 23:49You can do this personally, or you can do this as a church.
- 23:52There's a menu, a smorgasbord of support materials all free on that site.
- 23:59You can go there and click the resources tab and just look at videos that are three, four minutes long and get a kind of an idea of what we're trying to do with this and the resources that are available.
- 24:11So we recommend sign up, then you then you then you get updates and news about what's uh about what's happening, and you become a part of a movement.
- 24:22There's also a Meet Jesus slash prayer at the Heart site.
- 24:29And the Billy Graham people have been so kind to us.
- 24:32They gave us old tapes of Billy Graham making an altar call and praying with people at the altar.
- 24:39And then we've got follow-up discipleship material on that site as well.
- 24:43And there's a number that you can call, and someone right now, right now, will pray for you.
- 24:51It looks like, Bill, I just got a call this morning from some of our tech people that we're getting about 500 hits or calls a day of people wanting to know something about Christ.
- 25:04And so there's a stirring going on in the nation.
- 25:08Absolutely.
- 25:09So then when somebody does have their prayer answered and leads somebody to Christ, do they go on the website and then report that so you can keep data collection of how many people they can take them to the website and and we we would encourage them to look at different discipleship options that they can use.
- 25:34Some of these are church-based, some of these are living room-based, and uh, and you can and you can pull down, and again, these resources are free by partnering organizations that say, here's a peer-led.
- 25:48We've we've got one resource on there that's a peer-led resource that I'm using in uh nine Western African nations, and we have seen so far the that movement, not me, I wouldn't take credit for it, but the miraculous movement of Jerry Trousdale's scene, I think 2.7 million Muslims come to Christ.
- 26:09And and there's all kinds of resources, big life.
- 26:13Um, I think Kevin Palau's organization has resources on there.
- 26:17I've just received Christ.
- 26:19What can I do?
- 26:20And Bill, here's the other thing I think.
- 26:22I grew up, I'm I'm I'm old.
- 26:25You shared the gospel, you prayed with someone, and then you got them into a discipleship program.
- 26:30That doesn't work.
- 26:31It doesn't work, it doesn't work well.
- 26:33You are now discipling people to conversion and discipling people from conversion.
- 26:40And you are walking with your friends to know Christ, overcome their objections, and then walking from that commitment to explore and grow deeper in him.
- 26:50So I would say go to the Meet Jesus site and look at the materials and say, here's something I could use for my own with my own friends in one-on-one or in living room or in supplements to church.
- 27:05I want to get them in the same church that I go to.
- 27:07But you need, we're not, we're not looking to have people pray a prayer with us.
- 27:11We're looking to make a million disciples.
- 27:15Amen.
- 27:17That's definitely what we need.
- 27:19I think so many churches have gotten away from the idea of discipleship, and churches have even gotten away from the idea of asking people in church to give their lives to Christ.
- 27:31I think they're very the the churches that do that are few and far between.
- 27:37And so uh it sounds like a wonderful, wonderful plan.
- 27:42Uh Reverend Franklin Graham, who has endorsed this prayer initiative said this could be the beginning of the spiritual awakener awakening our our nation so desperately needs and a renewal found only in Jesus Christ.
- 27:55How can my listeners access your 68-page 50 day prayer guide on your website?
- 28:00On your website.
- 28:01I'm so glad you asked that.
- 28:01I'm so glad you asked that.
- 28:03And that that may be one of the best resources we have.
- 28:03And that that may be one of the best resources we have.
- 28:06It's digital.
- 28:06It's digital.
- 28:08We did have plenty of copies, but we ran out of them a long time ago.
- 28:08We did have plenty of copies, but we ran out of them a long time ago.
- 28:12Um, but you can go to resources tab.
- 28:12Um, but you can go to resources tab.
- 28:16Uh there may be another tab on the website, and you can find the 50-day prayer guide and just click it and download it.

- 28:24If you sign up on the site, it will send it to you weekly, like a one-week tab because you get recommendations.
- 28:31This is what I can do this week.
- 28:33And then there's just a simple five to 10 minute devotional.
- 28:37It has a scripture of the day.
- 28:39It is a state to pray for every day.
- 28:41It has an unreached people group in every state every day.
- 28:46It has a prayer quote every day.
- 28:48And then it either has a prayer challenge or prayer itself that that keeps you thinking in a missional way.
- 28:57It's a great, it's a great little little little prayer guide.
- 29:02According to February to February, February, Barnabole.
- 29:06There seems to be a growing openness to the Christian faith among Gen Zers, those between the ages of 14 and 29.
- 29:12What do you think the younger generation is becoming?
- 29:14Why do you think the younger generation is becoming more spiritually curious right now?
- 29:19I I think there's a hole in their heart.
- 29:22I I think they've lived in the generation of the falling towers.
- 29:26It's been one crisis after another.
- 29:37They live between homes.
- 29:39I think there's a hole in their heart.
- 29:41And I think they've been pushed away from this.
- 29:45Don't pray here, don't pray around these kids.
- 29:47Don't influence them now for this kind.
- 29:50Don't brainwash them.
- 29:52And I think they're finally getting through the thicket and hearing a sound and hearing a song that's resonating inside of them.
- 30:01And uh I I said it before, I I think we may not be post-Christian, I think we may be pre-Christian.
- 30:06They have a lot of objections.
- 30:08They've got a lot of baggage, and that's why we have to disciple them to conversion and from conversion.
- 30:14But I I think we may be on the precedent.
- 30:17This generation could be the most radically committed generation in all of history.
- 30:26They could be the gunlap generation.
- 30:28They could be the one that takes the baton and finishes the Great Commission for us.
- 30:36Well, let's hope so.
- 30:37That was that would be uh that would be wonderful.
- 30:40We um have heard a lot about the um Muslims coming to the United States, and their their goal is when they come here is to convert Americans, not necessarily Christians, but convert uh Americans to Islam.
- 30:58And they're they are really um what I've read is that they're the vastest growing faith in uh the United States right now is Islam.
- 31:09So that ought to set a a fire under us when we think about that.
- 31:14And one of the things they're doing too is having large families.
- 31:17You were talking earlier about the impact, the impact you can have upon your family when you become a new believer, and they believe that wholeheartedly, and they are putting that into practice.
- 31:29We heard a um on a radio show a few weeks ago, we we heard a clip of a imam kind of really really exhorting the members, three different imams in three different mosques exhorting and almost scolding his their um, I don't know if they call them congregations, but their members uh because they they were apparently not doing the thing that they were called to do here, and really exhorting them that hey, you're here to uh win people to to Islam.
- 32:03So that ought to wake up some Christians to realize that um we have we have some pretty serious competition, and we don't want this nation, especially that this 250th birthday or anniversary year, um, to uh succumb to Islam.
- 32:22What do you think of that?
- 32:23Their model is be different, gain influence, be assertive.
- 32:29And we are now in the late stage of gain influence.
- 32:32They say they only need nine percent of uh uh of a city on their side, either as Muslim or sympathetic to them to actually gain control of the city.
- 32:43It's it's not a majority that you need.
- 32:45It's it's it's it's it's just it's just the tepid minority that we now have is not moving us, moving us forward.
- 32:52But God is racing ahead of us here.
- 32:5320% of all Muslim converts are seeing visions, and in the Middle East, it's bottoming out because there are moderate Muslims who don't want to be a part of the violence.
- 33:04And I think that God may be bringing them here to hear the gospel, and we are not engaging them.
- 33:11You know, the salt covenant, you got the blood covenant threshold covenant, but the salt covenant was the covenant in which you sit down with your enemies and you tasted salt together.
- 33:19You you broke bread together, and you you found, I know we disagree.
- 33:23Where do we agree?
- 33:25Where can we find civility between the two of us?
- 33:28And if you if you look at uh uh uh picture of Leah Leonardo da Vinci, you'll see in front of Judas an overturned salt shaker.
- 33:36He was not faithful to the salt.
- 33:37The Arabs would say that there's no longer salt in his belly.
- 33:41And we need to begin to have salt talks with Muslims, Buddhists, with with with gang members and other other other people.
- 33:49Uh when when Charlotte came under attack a few years ago in the Black Lives Matter and so forth, a group of pastors that I know sat down and met with the Muslim community here.
- 33:59And and they said, Frankly, do you want to see the city go up in smoke?
- 34:03They said no.
- 34:04They said, What can we do to diffuse the hostility on both sides?
- 34:08And and they did the same thing, white and black pastors sitting together.
- 34:12We need civility.
- 34:14We are peacemakers.
- 34:16We preach the gospel of reconciliation.
- 34:18We don't do it very well.
- 34:20We are ambassadors to the mayor and the congressmen and other people representing the kingdom of God.
- 34:26So the church becomes it becomes a kind of embassy of the kingdom of God.
- 34:30Really, this is feeds back into the whole black robe kind of uh kind of kind of notion.
- 34:38Right.
- 34:38That's that's so true.
- 34:39We we you're right.
- 34:41That's and that's one thing that Bill does talk about is we do need to be uh as pastors meeting with uh represent our representatives, whether it would be someone at a local level or state level or national level.
- 34:54We we do need to be um as as ambassadors meeting with them and letting them know we pray for them, even if they're not of the same political party that we are in, even more so if they're not at the same political party that that we we are.
- 35:00them even if they're not of the same political party that we are in even more so if they're not of the same absolutely political party that that we we are but I think that um it's wonderful that you have all these resources uh through your website because I I think that um many Christians maybe most Christians especially younger Christians have a difficult time sharing their faith um even with people who maybe have come from a Christian background maybe somebody who was they know their their parents are Christian or they were kind of raised Christian they once went to church because Christians so many Christians don't even know what they believe or why they believe what they believe and so if you can't if you have a difficult time sharing your faith with um someone who comes from a Christian background how much more difficult is it to share your faith with someone from a Muslim or Buddhist uh etc background so um I think it's wonderful that you have all these resources yeah absolutely so you know the first word of God to humanity was blessing and the last word of Jesus to humanity at the ascension was blessing so the entire relationship with the Father and the Son is framed in blessing the cross couldn't silence the blessing cross couldn't put it out and so what we're saying is let's use the language of God let's say God bless you let's say have a good day let's say have a blessed day let's really get bold and say could I pray a prayer blessing rarely do Muslims we're talking about Muslims refuse a prayer of blessing that opens people up to the love of God and the grace of God.
- 35:09But I think that um it's wonderful that you have all these resources uh through your website, because I I think that um many Christians, maybe most Christians, especially younger Christians have a difficult time sharing their faith, um even with people who maybe have.
- 36:55So the old evangelism of quote a hundred scriptures and make people feel guilty and then get them wet and leave them alone that is not going to work now you want to lead with love build a bridge strong enough to handle the truth it's the truth that transforms.
- 37:13Oh absolutely absolutely but once you once you develop a relationship with somebody you do need to know like what steps to take and you have to know the word of God you know I'm not saying you have to go out and quote the five spiritual laws but it it is important to to know what you believe so you can share it's also important to know what Muslims believe.
- 37:35So we're saying which here's what we're saying is it's really an old model is get close enough to somebody who may be a family member they may be someone works around you where you can say to them honestly and sincerely tell me your story tell me your God's story what I don't have a God's story I don't believe in God.
- 37:52You know I don't believe in God don't ask me a question like that well that's exactly the story I want to hear I want to hear the story of why you don't believe in God.
- 37:59And you sit and listen to their story and they may have never unpacked this much garbage from their attic or their basement and you do not respond at that point except to affirm and then you come back and you see if they want to tell you any more they probably are processing what they said to you.
- 38:16And at some point you say to them hey I listened to your God's story I'm so glad you shared it with me.
- 38:21Can I tell you mine?
- 38:23You you you you you you probably have a wrong impression you probably don't know what my life was like before I met him before he came to our life could I tell you that story and you wait for their permission and then the last thing can I tell you his story can I invite you into his story he has a story for your life he's he's written the last chapter of your life and it really is an exciting chapter.
- 38:47And and and you're now beginning to unpack propositional truths of the gospel.

- 40:15Welcome back to last hope of a dime republic we are speaking with Doug Small with prayer at the heart and you can uh find more information about prayer at the heart at his website prayer at the heart dot org um Doug is speaking about a prayer effort to spark revival during this 250th birthday of our nation um if folks head over to prairatheheart.org or g they'll find a tab entitled Project 2026 which is drop down tab called USA prayer wall how how they can connect with other believers in the state or across America and actually pray together so tell us a little bit so it in every state we we we've got well in 40 states I think we were let we're lacking 10 and I can't name those unfortunately but we've got uh sometimes it's a handful of people sometimes it's more than that that are spending one hour a week praying for revival in their state and the goal is to to fill up that wall and until until every week you can go to a prayer call where people are praying for spiritual awakening in Arizona or Alaska or some other place and then the goal would be to go to the the cities there there are only a dozen cities that get us to 23% of the population one out of four Americans live in those 12 12 cities if you add another 20 it gets you to 45% of the population.
- 41:40So what would it look like to see a prayer wall in each of those cities where believers across the border just meeting to pray for the issues in their city or their state and pray for spiritual renewal.
- 41:52So that's what the prayer wall is all about we're trying to fill up ultimately 247 prayer we are inviting nations to pray for us I just was on the phone recently the nation of Kuwait took a day and prayed for us the nation of Indonesia a million intercessors I met with a leader they're taking a day to pray for America we're asking the nations of the world because if if you pray we're praying for you and we send our missionaries we send our mission teams but if you don't pray for us we we don't see a revival that that could stop that gravy trend could stop.
- 42:00To pray for us.
- 42:00I just was on the phone recently.
- 42:03The nation of Kuwait took a day and prayed for us.
- 42:06The nation of Indonesia, a million intercessors, I met with a leader.
- 42:11They're taking a day to pray for America.
- 42:14We're asking the nations of the world, because if if you pray, we're praying for you, and we send our missionaries and we send our mission teams.
- 42:22But if you don't pray for us, we don't see a revival.
- 42:27That gravy trend could stop.
- 42:29So we're
- 42:29So we're, and they're responding.
- 42:31The nations of the world are responding to say, we want to pray for America.
- 42:37And uh we want to see, we want to see a revival come to America.
- 42:41That's pretty amazing.
- 42:42Nations like Kuwait would pray for awakening in America.
- 42:46What does that look like?
- 42:47How did they respond when you asked when they asked?
- 42:50I've been there twice, and uh both times they've never had all the pastors of the nation, and they're not a lot of them, but there are significant number.
- 42:59Uh I think the last time I was there, I had about a hundred pastors in the room.
- 43:04There are 85 churches that share one compound on Friday.
- 43:08And it's open at 6 o'clock in the morning, it closes at 10 o'clock at night.
- 43:12So each church gets two hours in a bay.
- 43:14Some of them are in bays that only hold 100 people, some over in bays that hold a thousand people, one in a bay that holds 1,500 people.
- 43:24And uh, and so I did a pastor's conference, and really I challenged them.
- 43:28I said, Why don't why don't you do your million soul campaign?
- 43:31Well, it's only 4.3 million people there.
- 43:35It's difficult to reach the Muslims that are there, but they have a lot of expatriates there that are foreigners that are there.
- 43:43And uh I uh so far they've not taken the date of saying we're gonna do, we're gonna see a hundred thousand people or ten thousand people saved in Kuwait.
- 43:51But that's really we're asking nations, put a number on this.
- 43:56Let's let's stop saying we're all evangelizing in some kind of ethereal ghostly way when we know it's not happening.
- 44:02Right.
- 44:03Let's put a number on this.
- 44:05And let's let's let the Holy Spirit dare us until we begin to really count the number of people that are that are getting into the lifeboats.
- 44:14Praise God.
- 44:15Well, now in Kuwait, are are the pastors that are in Kuwait, you're saying they're Christian pastors in Kuwait praying for the United States.
- 44:23Are they there as missionaries?
- 44:25Is that why they're there in Kuwait?
- 44:27So some of them have been expatriated, they've got uh visas or whatever.
- 44:32It's an interesting thing that happened.
- 44:34A hundred years ago in Kuwait, a member of the Eamon's family, uh Emir's family, rather, fell sick, and they didn't have advanced medical treatment.
- 44:43And there was a there was a Christian missionary doctor in Kuwait.
- 44:48Not very popular, but the but the Emir heard about it and he called him to treat this child, and the child got well.
- 44:56And the Emir said, All right, we're going to start a clinic.
- 44:59They started a men's clinic, and then they started a women's clinic, and then they opened a hospital.
- 45:03And then when when when Muslim medicine caught up in the 70s and 80s, they they had their own hospital.
- 45:10They closed it down.
- 45:11But the nation of Kuwait said, You've been so kind to us, we're going to create a Christian compound just for Christians.
- 45:19And it is like a festival every time I go.
- 45:22I mean, it's like it's like all these people from from Eastern Orthodox to wild eyed Pentecostals like me, Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist, all meeting together, all fellowshipping together.
- 45:35And uh Bill, you should go, and they'll put your name up right there in the center court and say, Bill, Bill Cook here from America preaching, and uh, and uh it's it's really a great, and they're so hungry for news about what's happening around the world and so hungry for fellowship and encouragement there.
- 45:54And I, you know, I was I was I was in another group and I sat down with a pastor and just it was God's fortune.
- 46:01He said, and I my my background is church of God.
- 46:03He said, he said, I'm church of God.
- 46:05I said, really?
- 46:05Where we're at?
- 46:06He said Saudi Arabia.
- 46:07I said, there's not a church of God in Saudi Arabia.
- 46:09There's no churches in Saudi Arabia.
- 46:11He said, You're right.
- 46:12He said, I'm two blocks from Mecca with an underground church, and there are eight of us in Saudi Arabia, all over the world.
- 46:22So exciting.
- 46:23The Holy Spirit is moving in places that we can't even, we can't even imagine.
- 46:29And he wants to do that here.
- 46:32Well, I I've heard, I don't know if this is true, that the United States is the num the most, it's the nation that has the most missionaries coming to it.
- 46:45Is that true?
- 46:46I don't know that I heard that a few months ago.
- 46:50And I was like, that's hard to believe.
- 46:51People are coming from all over the world as missionaries to the United States to bring us to Christ.
- 46:58I know in some states, the number of people who are now attending church is almost approaching the 5% uh category that we begin to call unreached people.
- 47:09This is America.
- 47:10This is America.
- 47:12So we we are we we're our back is against the wall here.
- 47:15Uh we are often referred to after China and India, the third largest mission field in the world.
- 47:21We need, we need a revival.
- 47:24We need a mighty move of God here.
- 47:26And I think God wants to send us one.
- 47:30That's the amazing thing.
- 47:31We're it's not God that's holding back.
- 47:34It's it's we're the ones that are stopping the parade simply because we're not following 2 Chronicles 714.
- 47:42We're not we're not willing to let God break our hearts and wet our eyes over lost people, and we're not willing to break our silence.
- 47:49That's right.
- 47:50What will that what would that look like?
- 47:52That kind of a great awakening in America.
- 47:54What would that how would that manifest itself?
- 47:56I I I think I think we're all rejoicing that revival is out there.
- 48:00You know, one church had a thousand people saved last week, one one church, a thousand people saved.
- 48:06Other churches had hundreds saved on Easter, uh, etc.
- 48:10etc., etc.
- 48:11But but what it looks like is a grassroots movement that may not be thousands, but it's hundreds that are coming to Christ.
- 48:20What it looks like is spiritual awakening in your backyard.
- 48:24What it looks like is electric.
- 48:26It's everybody is talking about God.
- 48:29How do I find God?
- 48:31What it looks like is God talk everywhere, first hushed, but then open.
- 48:36I'm hungry for something that only God can give.
- 48:39What it looks like is noontime places like like the 17 uh are the 1857, 1858 revival where where people are are coming to simply sit in the presence of God and and and and and and pray.
- 48:53That's that's awakening.
- 48:55That's awakening.
- 48:56And and I I again believe that my my prayer has been a tithe of the nation.
- 49:01My prayer has been a tithe of the nation.
- 49:0510% of the nation coming coming coming to Christ.
- 49:0510% of the nation coming coming coming to Christ.
- 49:09And Bill, you you may not know this.
- 49:09And Bill, you may not know this.
- 49:11You may.
- 49:11You may.
- 49:12The Roe v.
- 49:12The Roe v.
- 49:13Wade courtroom is now a prayer room.
- 49:13Wade courtroom is now a prayer room.
- 49:16No, I didn't know that.
- 49:16No, I didn't know that.
- 49:17No, that's that's I'm surprised we don't know that.
- 49:17No, that's that's I'm surprised we don't know that.
- 49:19We've been very involved in pro life.
- 49:19We've been very involved in pro-life.
- 49:21So so here, so here's the deal.
- 49:21So here so here's the deal.
- 49:23It was decommissioned as a courtroom and it became a federal office building.
- 49:23It was decommissioned as a courtroom, and it became a federal office building.
- 49:29But nobody.
- 49:29But nobody wanted to put their office in that building.
- 49:32Nobody wanted to be in that room.
- 49:34And then it became an apartment building, and nobody wanted to sleep there.
- 49:38And the Christians rided it and turned it into a prayer room.
- 49:42And the DS is still there with the three judges sit, and the wallpaper hasn't changed, and the chandeliers have it changed, and the and the floor is still the same.
- 49:50Now they took out the other courtroom furniture, but there's a long table there, and and there's a nice, comfortable chairs, and the church of Dallas gathers there for special nights of prayer.
- 50:01When they were hearing the case in the Supreme Court, that room was packed.
- 50:04I was in that room praying.
- 50:06I was in that room praying, and I had a shattering experience with God.
- 50:10I could take you to the spot in that room.
- 50:13And the Lord taunted me a little bit.
- 50:15And I don't mean that in a good way.
- 50:17The Lord said to me, He said, Do you really think you're a hot shot praying for a tithe of the nation to be saved?
- 50:23And I got that out of Isaiah 6, a tithe shall remain, a tenth shall remain.
- 50:28And uh and that would be 35 million.
- 50:30And the Lord said, Why don't you really pray for something big?
- 50:32And I was I was stunned.
- 50:35I was stunned.
- 50:36And the Lord said this to me why don't you pray for a for a great revival in America, a spiritual awakening that will sweep into the kingdom, the number of people equal to the number of children that have been aborted since the ruling in this courtroom.
- 50:51That would be 63 to 70 million.
- 50:54I was stunned.
- 50:55I think it's in the heart of God to do far more than we imagine.
- 51:04Agree with that.
- 51:04So we're going to say something about the number.
- 51:07Well, the number that I've researched this, and I don't know anybody else saying that.
- 51:11I've had people agree with me, but they don't say it publicly.
- 51:15But what I count is the babies that were aborted from the birth control pill, which became legal in 1963.
- 51:24And immediately that first year, a million big women were on the pill.
- 51:28And there's no it's difficult to calculate because uh the pill, the birth control.
- 51:33I'm not talking about the abortion pill now that does 70% of all abortions, which is also not counted in that 63 million.
- 51:39That number 63 million has been used for about 10 years now.
- 51:43I don't know why.
- 51:44We know that's a million at least a million to million have new ones every year.
- 51:48So I don't know why they stopped counting 10 or 15 years ago.
- 51:51But if you count the number, I mean, this is a conservative, very conservative, because if a woman's on the pill for the year for one year, she may abort one child when she becomes pregnant, but she may abort six, she might, she may get pregnant every month and be aborting babies.
- 52:09So we don't really know.
- 52:10But a conservative number would be that we have we have murdered 300 million babies, which is almost our entire population.
- 52:20It seems to me that the Lord might be saying, You you took their lives, but I want to claim them.
- 52:26I want to claim a whole generation.
- 52:27I want to claim a whole generation of young people of children and babies.
- 52:31And the child intercessor movement, Bill, this is a this is not what we're talking about, but the child intercessor movement of young people that are 12, uh, seven rather to 14 numbers eight million around the world.
- 52:45We have never seen this kind of movement orchestrated by the Holy Spirit to awaken so many children and young people around the world to pray for mission and and and global harvest.
- 53:02Yes, absolutely.
- 53:03That's great.
- 53:03And God hears the prayers of the children, doesn't he?
- 53:07Amen.
- 53:08Absolutely.
- 53:09That's what Jesus said, right?
- 53:10Suffer the little children to come unto me.
- 53:12He hears their prayers.
- 53:13What scriptures come to mind, uh, doctor, uh, regarding the importance and power of prayer.
- 53:19Well, you know, you you you you you're asking a Pentecostal, so you gotta throw in Acts 1 and 8.
- 53:23You shall receive power and uh dunymus, the dynamic life of the Holy Spirit, not from the outside in, as we saw in the Old Testament, from the inside out.
- 53:35And and you and you, and it's not that you would do witnessing a verb, it's that you yourself become a witness.
- 53:41And and the presence of the Holy Spirit in our life evokes a kind of courtroom in which the Holy Spirit calls people to give an account of what they believe about Christ.
- 53:53It's really Matthew.
- 53:54Uh who do you say that I am?
- 53:56And as we begin to pray, and and as we begin to live and walk in the Holy Spirit, it's almost like a kind of, I don't want to sound new age here, but it's almost like a kind of a field of energy develops around us, where the Holy Spirit invites people to know him, and he's asking the question, who is Christ to you?
- 54:14And the and and the response to that is the gateway to transformation.
- 54:18It's the gateway to salvation.
- 54:20That I think is what the Lord wants to do in my life.
- 54:23He wants, he wants the the Holy Spirit's presence to become not only real to me, but real through me.
- 54:31So that I not only, you know, if Paul said that Paul said, You are epistles, people read your life.
- 54:37You're a fragrance, they smell the sweetness about you, and they see the glory on your face.
- 54:43And and that's what I want.
- 54:44That's why I want to become a Christian one day, Bill.
- 54:47I want I want to become a Lord.
- 54:51I want to, I want my life to be marked by the presence of God.
- 54:56Amen.
- 54:58Absolutely.
- 54:59Um, you mentioned the Korean uh uh movement, which occurred really in what in the 70s, 80s, where um so many uh millions of Koreans came to the Lord.
- 55:14Yeah, well, uh you know, Billy Graham's Crusade uh there in 73, uh it was a large several crusade he had, and the last service had 1.2 million.
- 55:23I think it was 2.3 over the three nights.
- 55:27And the total that Graham puts forth is 70,000, but the total that uh the Koreans put forth that Billy Kim puts forth uh forest broadcasting is that 100,000 people came to Christ.
- 55:40And and now their children and their grandchildren are going to the nations to pray, and they're the ones that started coming back here and and praying in America.
- 55:52They've prayed from Seattle to Miami, they prayed from San Diego to the border of Maine and Canada.
- 55:58They prayed in almost every denominational uh sector.
- 56:00Denominational uh sector.
- 56:02They prayed, I think, with a half a dozen governors.
- 56:02They've prayed, I think, with a half a dozen governors, and and and they and they don't know, they don't know English.
- 56:05And and and they and they don't know they don't know English.
- 56:08They shut down their businesses, literally.
- 56:08They shut down their businesses, literally, pay their way to come here to put their feet on American soul.
- 56:12Pay their way to come here to put their feet on American soul.
- 56:16When they get here, they'll tell pastors, pastors call me and say, What do I do?
- 56:16When they get here, they'll tell pastors, pastors call me, say, what do I do?
- 56:19They don't want to go to the hotel.
- 56:19They don't want to go to the hotel.
- 56:21They've been on a jet for 16 hours, and they just want me to take the church so they can sleep at the altar and pray for America to have a great awakening.
- 56:21They've been on a jet for 16 hours, and they just want me to take the church so they can sleep at the altar and pray for America to have a great awakening.
- 56:30Thank you so much for joining us.
- 56:31Thank you for being with us.
- 56:33And we always end with our Ben Franklin quote.
- 56:35Yeah, when it when he was asked what kind of government do we have by a by a woman, he said, a republic if you can keep it.
