- 0:12Speaker 1: This is Heartwise, offering practical tips and time proven guidelines
- 0:16Speaker 1: to make your life healthier, happier, and more fulfilling. Today
- 0:20Speaker 1: you'll learn simple, Bible based principles for building and maintaining
- 0:24Speaker 1: optimum mental and physical health, all while deepening your relationship
- 0:29Speaker 1: with your creator. Here's your Heartwise host, doctor James Markham.
- 0:37Speaker 2: We are glad everyone has joined us today for Heartwise,
- 0:40Speaker 2: and you know, on Heartwise we talk a lot about
- 0:43Speaker 2: how the food you eat or the nutrition you take
- 0:46Speaker 2: in can both cause disease as well as prevent disease.
- 0:51Speaker 2: So I want everyone out there to think the next
- 0:54Speaker 2: time you eat a piece of food, is this piece
- 0:57Speaker 2: of food helping me get better or could it be
- 0:59Speaker 2: caused me to get worse. That's a great place to start.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Our heart Wise nutritional expert, Doctor Charlene McCulloch is joining
- 1:07Speaker 2: us today. Charlene, welcome the Heartwise.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Thank you, Doctor Markham. It's great to be here again.
- 1:13Speaker 2: We are glad that you've been helping everyone out there,
- 1:15Speaker 2: and you've been doing this for years, helping everyone to
- 1:17Speaker 2: realize that the food they eat not only can make
- 1:20Speaker 2: them better, but it also can make them worse. Answering
- 1:23Speaker 2: their questions to the things that many people don't even
- 1:26Speaker 2: know about food. Did you find that a lot of
- 1:27Speaker 2: people are confused about the issues as far as nutrition goes.
- 1:32Speaker 3: That's exactly right, and we have to go back to
- 1:35Speaker 3: the very same premise that we've heard for many years,
- 1:37Speaker 3: centuries really that's been said, let your food be your medicine,
- 1:42Speaker 3: and let medicine be food. The food be your medicine,
- 1:45Speaker 3: so that that's what you take to heal your body.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Because we're created in a way that we live on
- 1:52Speaker 3: the food that God made for us. And if that
- 1:55Speaker 3: is our food and then also our medicine when we
- 1:57Speaker 3: are ill, then we're going to stay healthy for.
- 1:59Speaker 2: A lot of time longer, well, said doctor McCall And
- 2:02Speaker 2: we've had a lot of questions that come into our
- 2:04Speaker 2: website at Heartwiseministries dot org, and we want to invite you,
- 2:09Speaker 2: if you have an nutritionally related question, to send a
- 2:12Speaker 2: question to our website and we'll get it over to
- 2:13Speaker 2: doctor McCullough. And we've had a few questions come into
- 2:16Speaker 2: our website, and let me start with one. And this
- 2:19Speaker 2: person asked me, he says, I'm very confused about organic foods.
- 2:23Speaker 2: On the website on commercials at the stores. I hear
- 2:26Speaker 2: that organic foods are good, and then I hear that
- 2:29Speaker 2: they're not good. Can you enlighten me on this subject?
- 2:33Speaker 3: Oh, yes, that's a wonderful question, because there's so much
- 2:36Speaker 3: controversy about that right now. In fact, the USDA has
- 2:40Speaker 3: announced recently that they're putting fifteen out of thirty federally
- 2:44Speaker 3: accredited organic certifiers on probation because they're finding that they're
- 2:50Speaker 3: using the label organic when the foods are really not organic. Well,
- 2:54Speaker 3: how can they not be? Because there are strict laws,
- 2:56Speaker 3: in other words, to be organic. We know that foods
- 2:59Speaker 3: have to be grown without pesticides, without chemical fertilizers. They
- 3:03Speaker 3: have to be They cannot be genetically modified, and that's
- 3:06Speaker 3: also a big subject right now. They cannot contain growth
- 3:10Speaker 3: hormones or antibiotics or any other drugs or anything artificial,
- 3:14Speaker 3: or any preservatives. And the animals, if that's part of
- 3:18Speaker 3: what's in our organic food the animals have to be
- 3:21Speaker 3: grown free with no hormones and no antibiotics and all
- 3:25Speaker 3: of that. So why should that be a big deal?
- 3:27Speaker 3: That sounds pretty good, But what we're finding in organic
- 3:31Speaker 3: foods that even have our labels on them in the
- 3:34Speaker 3: United States. Those foods are coming over partially either part
- 3:39Speaker 3: of the food that's in an organic based thing or
- 3:42Speaker 3: the whole food. They're coming from other countries, and unfortunately
- 3:46Speaker 3: a lot of those foods are coming from China, and
- 3:49Speaker 3: China is sending over foods or the portion of something
- 3:53Speaker 3: that's going to be in a food that is not organic,
- 3:57Speaker 3: and so it gets dumped into foods that we considered
- 4:00Speaker 3: to be organic. But when those foods are analyzed, they're
- 4:04Speaker 3: not completely organic by the rules that we just sat. Therefore,
- 4:08Speaker 3: those companies are on probation. So we have to be
- 4:11Speaker 3: careful about the foods that are coming from China. You
- 4:15Speaker 3: know what, Doctor marka my way the other day to
- 4:17Speaker 3: the store just to buy a can of the little oranges,
- 4:21Speaker 3: the little mandarin oranges, and I could not find a
- 4:25Speaker 3: single can of oranges in that store that did not
- 4:28Speaker 3: come from China. We need to be really careful about
- 4:31Speaker 3: things that come from China because they are not up
- 4:35Speaker 3: to the standards of quality that we desire or that
- 4:39Speaker 3: we even command by the USDA in America today. So
- 4:43Speaker 3: when everything say organic, we have to really know that label,
- 4:47Speaker 3: the label that we can depend on because there are
- 4:50Speaker 3: several labels that say that they are organic. We have
- 4:52Speaker 3: to depend on the one that's the round circle. It's
- 4:55Speaker 3: white on the top with a green USDA in it
- 5:00Speaker 3: on the bottom, and it says organic. And that's the
- 5:02Speaker 3: only seal that we can really depend on that those
- 5:06Speaker 3: foods have been tested and they are truly organic by
- 5:09Speaker 3: the standards that I just laid out.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Yeah, well, that's good. And tell us what are some
- 5:15Speaker 2: types of foods that are important to get organic and
- 5:17Speaker 2: which ones might sort of not be so important as
- 5:20Speaker 2: far as our health goes.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Now, that's yes, thank you. That's a really great question too,
- 5:24Speaker 3: And there's a reason for this. For instance, I could
- 5:27Speaker 3: list just quickly twelve foods here that you don't have
- 5:30Speaker 3: to buy organic, because organic things always cost more. And
- 5:34Speaker 3: so if we have a choice that we cannot spend
- 5:37Speaker 3: that money on some things and be sure we're spending
- 5:41Speaker 3: our money on things that it's very important to have organic, well,
- 5:44Speaker 3: then we could understand that better from this list. Now,
- 5:47Speaker 3: this is a list of things that are safe to
- 5:49Speaker 3: buy conventionally grown, because these particular foods do not have
- 5:55Speaker 3: to have a lot of pesticides and preservative things to
- 6:01Speaker 3: make sure that they're safe for consumption. And the list
- 6:04Speaker 3: starts with broccoli. See, broccoli is one thing that you
- 6:06Speaker 3: don't have to buy organic conventionally grown. They're excellent to
- 6:11Speaker 3: eat and they're very safe for you and very clean.
- 6:13Speaker 3: So broccoli, eggplants, cabbage, bananas, keywee, fruit, asparagus, frozen sweet peas, pineapple, avocados,
- 6:26Speaker 3: and onions. Those things do not have to be organic
- 6:30Speaker 3: to be safe, good, wholesome, clean foods for us. Now,
- 6:35Speaker 3: the things that we do need to buy organic or
- 6:38Speaker 3: the should be. And the two main ones here, doctor Markham,
- 6:42Speaker 3: are apples and strawberries. Now, it's because of the way
- 6:47Speaker 3: they have to have so many preservatives and pesticides and
- 6:50Speaker 3: things put on them to make them grow so they
- 6:52Speaker 3: get the stage that they're still ripe and not rotten
- 6:57Speaker 3: whenever we eat them. The two main ones strawberries, we
- 7:00Speaker 3: can understand. Apples. A lot of people have questions about that.
- 7:04Speaker 3: They say, oh, my goodness, apples, you scrub them good,
- 7:06Speaker 3: and what difference does it make? But the difference is
- 7:09Speaker 3: that those the apple trees have to be sprayed when
- 7:12Speaker 3: the apple is in its blossom. If not, the insects
- 7:16Speaker 3: gets there, then they never produce an apple. So the
- 7:19Speaker 3: pesticides that are sprayed onto the apples are sprayed starting
- 7:23Speaker 3: with their bloom all the way out till they are ripe,
- 7:26Speaker 3: and you can't get rid of the pesticides are inside
- 7:29Speaker 3: the apples. So it's very important if you can. Now
- 7:32Speaker 3: I'm not saying if you can't eat organic apples, don't
- 7:35Speaker 3: eat any at all. But if you can buy organic
- 7:37Speaker 3: apples and strawberries would be the two best ones, and
- 7:40Speaker 3: then the other ones would be peaches, zelery, cherries, lettuce,
- 7:48Speaker 3: grapes that are imported, and a lot of them are,
- 7:51Speaker 3: especially in the winter when they don't grow here. You
- 7:53Speaker 3: get imported grapes. Make sure if you can, that you
- 7:56Speaker 3: get those organic pears, spinach, and potatoes. Oh, potatoes that
- 8:02Speaker 3: if we can, we need to buy those organic.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Wow, that's great information. Now I had a question. You know,
- 8:08Speaker 2: you know all these fruits when you go to the
- 8:09Speaker 2: produce sections, some of the fruits and vegetables, they look
- 8:11Speaker 2: so shiny. You know, do you think they put chemicals
- 8:15Speaker 2: on those to make them look so good? And is
- 8:17Speaker 2: there any danger of that in our bodies?
- 8:19Speaker 3: Well, actually, that's the kind of wax that to make
- 8:23Speaker 3: them shiny, and sometimes it's to preserve them so that
- 8:27Speaker 3: you know they're shipped. Like we get a lot of
- 8:29Speaker 3: our apples here in the United States from Washington area,
- 8:33Speaker 3: and they come a long way and it takes a
- 8:34Speaker 3: while to get here. But really, I don't think that
- 8:37Speaker 3: God created our bodies with a deficiency of wax. Yes, right,
- 8:41Speaker 3: I don't think we need that wax. So you're exactly
- 8:44Speaker 3: right to target that because we need to wash our
- 8:47Speaker 3: vegetables now if we use a really good vegetable wash,
- 8:50Speaker 3: and one that comes to mind is veggie wash. It's
- 8:52Speaker 3: available in every grocery store, and you just soak your
- 8:56Speaker 3: vegetables and your fruits, and especially the ones that have
- 8:59Speaker 3: the wax on them, soak them even for just five minutes,
- 9:03Speaker 3: and then rent them really good. You'll get all that
- 9:06Speaker 3: wax off, as well as any pesticides that might be
- 9:08Speaker 3: on the outside of the foods. So like I mentioned,
- 9:11Speaker 3: especially spinach and lettuce and some of those that should
- 9:15Speaker 3: be organic. If ever we cannot buy those organic, well,
- 9:18Speaker 3: then go ahead and just make sure you're using a
- 9:20Speaker 3: really good vegetable wash, soaking those vegetables about five minutes,
- 9:24Speaker 3: especially the leafy ones. You know, we need kale, and
- 9:26Speaker 3: we need all of these green leafy vegetables, but there
- 9:29Speaker 3: are a lot of little areas in there that pesticides
- 9:32Speaker 3: can get into, even while they're growing or even after
- 9:34Speaker 3: they're harvested. So we want to be sure we wash
- 9:37Speaker 3: those goods. So you wash them soaking five minutes and
- 9:39Speaker 3: a good dastable wash rent some really good. Let them
- 9:43Speaker 3: dry well before you put them in the refrigerator. Ratherwise
- 9:45Speaker 3: the water will start to rot them a little bit
- 9:48Speaker 3: too soon. So you drive them real good on paper towels,
- 9:51Speaker 3: put them in your refrigerator into plastic bags, and they'll
- 9:54Speaker 3: stay fresh for so long. Once you've done that wash,
- 9:57Speaker 3: and you get the wax off, and you also get
- 9:59Speaker 3: all the little insects that might be left, and the
- 10:03Speaker 3: pesticides off as well.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Wow, well that is some excellent practical situation. We're about
- 10:09Speaker 2: ready to go to break now, but you actually are
- 10:12Speaker 2: what you eat. No one wants to be a bunch
- 10:14Speaker 2: of pesticides if you don't have to be. And after break,
- 10:18Speaker 2: I'm going to ask doctor Charlene a question about GMOs.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Everyone's interested in that, so stay with us on heartwise.
- 10:25Speaker 2: We're going to be back after this short break.
- 10:43Speaker 1: In his book The Ultimate Prescription, now available from Tendale
- 10:47Speaker 1: House Publishers, Cardiologists, doctor James Markham writes, I was reading
- 10:52Speaker 1: a recent poll of men who were asked who they
- 10:54Speaker 1: thought was the most influential male in the world today.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Number one on the list was Don Draper, character on
- 11:00Speaker 1: a television series He's not even a real person. Number
- 11:04Speaker 1: two was Usain Bolton, Olympic athlete who many believe defines
- 11:07Speaker 1: the true spirit of competition, and President Barack Obama slipped
- 11:10Speaker 1: in his number three. This is just another example of
- 11:13Speaker 1: how the media has the power to create an influential character,
- 11:17Speaker 1: market him as an ideal to the world, and affect
- 11:20Speaker 1: the minds of a large segment of the population. That
- 11:23Speaker 1: same media is doing the same thing when it comes
- 11:26Speaker 1: to telling us how to build and maintain optimum health.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Doctor Markham's book The Ultimate Prescription is available from Amazon
- 11:34Speaker 1: dot com and wherever quality books are sold. To learn
- 11:37Speaker 1: more about health from a biblical perspective, visit Heartwisemanistries dot org.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I'd like to take a moment to invite you to
- 11:45Speaker 1: visit the Heartwise Ministries team on the internet. Stop by
- 11:48Speaker 1: Heartwisemanistries dot org and discover for yourself that optimum health
- 11:52Speaker 1: is not the result of favorable genes of the right
- 11:55Speaker 1: combination of pharmaceuticals. No, optimum health is the result of
- 11:59Speaker 1: making the right choices each and every moment of each
- 12:02Speaker 1: and every day. If you're like me, you're probably a
- 12:05Speaker 1: little confused about what the media and marketing moguls are
- 12:07Speaker 1: feeding us. There are a lot of potions, pills and
- 12:10Speaker 1: promises out there. Some work, some don't, and some are
- 12:13Speaker 1: downright dangerous. Whom do you believe? Whom do you trust?
- 12:17Speaker 1: Board certified cardiologist doctor James Markham, a founder director of
- 12:20Speaker 1: Heartwise Ministries, says, there is a source of information that
- 12:24Speaker 1: can be trusted and followed. That's the Bible, God's Owner's
- 12:28Speaker 1: Manual as he calls it. For us, all the information
- 12:31Speaker 1: you find on Heartwiseministries dot org is information backed by
- 12:35Speaker 1: biblical truth. It can be trusted because God can be trusted.
- 12:39Speaker 1: So stop by, won't you? That's Heartwiseministries dot org.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Welcome back to Heartwise. I'm doctor James Markham. I'm talking
- 12:55Speaker 2: to with our Heartwise nutritional expert, doctor Charlene mccullus, answering
- 13:00Speaker 2: questions that have come into our website, heartweiresministries dot org
- 13:04Speaker 2: g and doctor McCullough. The next question asked person is
- 13:08Speaker 2: I'm not sure what a GMO is. Can you explain
- 13:11Speaker 2: what this is and why it might be important to
- 13:14Speaker 2: my health?
- 13:16Speaker 3: Oh? Yes, and that is so in the news right now,
- 13:19Speaker 3: especially since there's a promotion in California to make sure
- 13:24Speaker 3: that the companies that do these genetically modified foods that's
- 13:28Speaker 3: what the GMO is, They have been genetically modified, and
- 13:32Speaker 3: that that needs to be on the label of our
- 13:36Speaker 3: foods and it is not on the label. I know
- 13:38Speaker 3: corn is one thing right now that is being genetically
- 13:42Speaker 3: modified that we're not being told about. So what does
- 13:45Speaker 3: that mean? What difference does it make?
- 13:47Speaker 2: Why would they do that modified?
- 13:49Speaker 3: Well, because see there are things in those foods that
- 13:52Speaker 3: are not good for us. And the companies, you know,
- 13:55Speaker 3: it's the big industry, the multi billion dollar companies that
- 13:58Speaker 3: are making these foods. They're fighting really hard to keep
- 14:02Speaker 3: the list of modification they do to our foods, to
- 14:06Speaker 3: keep that off the label. You know, a long time ago,
- 14:09Speaker 3: we didn't even have to label foods. Auto can of
- 14:11Speaker 3: something and you didn't know what was in it, And
- 14:13Speaker 3: then the industry had by law was required then to
- 14:18Speaker 3: start listing the ingredients that were in that food. And
- 14:21Speaker 3: we're glad we have that. One thing I've always said
- 14:23Speaker 3: is read your labels, know what's in your food. And
- 14:27Speaker 3: now we're getting a group of foods that are coming
- 14:29Speaker 3: out that are not labeled properly, and they're the genetically
- 14:32Speaker 3: modified foods, and they're not good for our bodies that
- 14:37Speaker 3: they've been modified or transformed in such a way that
- 14:42Speaker 3: our bodies do not even recognize the chemicals that are
- 14:45Speaker 3: in those as food, and they turn into toxins in
- 14:48Speaker 3: our bodies, and then our liver has to get rid
- 14:51Speaker 3: of the toxins, and then we have the defective liver
- 14:55Speaker 3: that can keep up with all the junk we're putting in. Exactly.
- 15:01Speaker 3: And there are two reasons why the industry, the multi
- 15:04Speaker 3: billion dollar companies I could name somebody I will not,
- 15:07Speaker 3: but there are several reasons why they do this. And
- 15:09Speaker 3: a lot of times, and listen to me, listeners, listen carefully.
- 15:13Speaker 3: A lot of times they're trying to give us what
- 15:15Speaker 3: we want. Now, the women in the kitchen, what do
- 15:18Speaker 3: we say we want? We want foods that last a
- 15:20Speaker 3: long time, that don't spoil easily, that taste good, that
- 15:25Speaker 3: are easy to fix, quick and easy to fix. And
- 15:30Speaker 3: my slogan here doctor Markham is don't eat anything that
- 15:33Speaker 3: won't spoil, just eat it before it spoils. Whenever we
- 15:38Speaker 3: have food in our pantry that stays a long time
- 15:40Speaker 3: without spoiling, it has been modified to the point that
- 15:44Speaker 3: a lot of the nutrition that would spoil it has
- 15:48Speaker 3: been taken out. Other genetically produced nutrition has been put
- 15:52Speaker 3: in so that it does it can still on the
- 15:55Speaker 3: show for a long time and not spoil, but it
- 15:57Speaker 3: reachs havoc in our bodies. When we talk about the
- 16:00Speaker 3: process of metabolism, digestion, utilization, what's absorbed, what's not absorbed
- 16:06Speaker 3: in our foods. And one thing I could mention that
- 16:08Speaker 3: you can really understand about this is what we went
- 16:11Speaker 3: through with trans fat. Now, when trans fats were first invented,
- 16:16Speaker 3: if I can use that word, because they're not normal,
- 16:19Speaker 3: it was a fat that tastes good that we can
- 16:22Speaker 3: eat and have the joy of tasting it, because fat
- 16:25Speaker 3: really does taste good. We all like fat, and we
- 16:28Speaker 3: need fat, but we need the right kind. But if
- 16:31Speaker 3: we absorb too much fat, we know what it does
- 16:33Speaker 3: to our heart. To our liver to our vessels and
- 16:36Speaker 3: clogs up everything. And one of the major causes for
- 16:39Speaker 3: many years of heart disease the wrong kind of fat.
- 16:42Speaker 3: So this modified fat called transpats. They reversed, transferred or
- 16:47Speaker 3: reversed some of the process of making that fat so
- 16:50Speaker 3: that your body cannot absorb it. So did not that
- 16:54Speaker 3: sound like a wonderful thing. You can eat fat, you
- 16:56Speaker 3: can taste it, It can be wonderful, make your food
- 16:58Speaker 3: taste wonderful, but your body can't absorb it. So it's
- 17:01Speaker 3: not going to get in your bloodstream to go to
- 17:03Speaker 3: your heart and liver and do all the bad things.
- 17:05Speaker 3: What they didn't realize, and it wasn't until years later
- 17:07Speaker 3: that we found out that that modification reaps havoc with
- 17:12Speaker 3: other systems of your body. Not just what they were
- 17:16Speaker 3: looking at don't absorb it. It reaps havoc with other
- 17:19Speaker 3: systems of your body, to the point that now the
- 17:22Speaker 3: USDA has required that not be taken out of foods,
- 17:25Speaker 3: and so many foods that we buy now you'll see
- 17:28Speaker 3: right on the front of the package, no trans fats
- 17:32Speaker 3: or no trans fatty acids, because now we know not
- 17:36Speaker 3: to buy those suits where we're getting to that place
- 17:38Speaker 3: with these gel mosess the ones that are genetically modified
- 17:42Speaker 3: so that they last longer. There have been things put
- 17:46Speaker 3: in there so that the bugs can't get in, but
- 17:48Speaker 3: it's the wrong kinds of chemicals. So these are the
- 17:51Speaker 3: things that we really need to avoid anytime you find
- 17:54Speaker 3: out that a food has been genetically modified, just to
- 17:58Speaker 3: avoid it like the plague. But see we go back
- 18:01Speaker 3: to the to the law of them having to put
- 18:03Speaker 3: on the food labels what's in there, because I know
- 18:06Speaker 3: corn especially, that's what's being fought in California. Corn is
- 18:09Speaker 3: one of the things that now has been genetically modified
- 18:12Speaker 3: and we don't know it. We don't know if we're
- 18:14Speaker 3: buying corn that has been or hasn't been, because there's
- 18:17Speaker 3: no truth in labeling for genetically modified foodshed. So that's
- 18:21Speaker 3: what's being fought now in the courts, especially in California,
- 18:25Speaker 3: to make that a law that we know when those
- 18:27Speaker 3: when the genetically modified or the GMO foods are in
- 18:31Speaker 3: the food that we're buying, because it has to be
- 18:33Speaker 3: on the label. So it's really important. What a great
- 18:36Speaker 3: timely question that was, because it's really important that we
- 18:40Speaker 3: know that. And so if you have any buying California.
- 18:43Speaker 3: It's going to be voting on that. Be sure you
- 18:45Speaker 3: call them and say, hey, vote for having to put
- 18:48Speaker 3: these on the label so that we'll all know what
- 18:50Speaker 3: kind of things are in our foods that we are buying.
- 18:53Speaker 2: You know, you know that's so applicable years ago. You
- 18:57Speaker 2: know cigarettes, You know, they used to use cigarettes as
- 18:59Speaker 2: a treatment for asthma in the thirties. They didn't know
- 19:02Speaker 2: all the bad chemicals that were on cigarettes. And it
- 19:05Speaker 2: sounds like this GMO might be sort of the same thing.
- 19:08Speaker 2: We don't really know what havoc all this genetic manipulation
- 19:11Speaker 2: might do to us twenty years down the road.
- 19:14Speaker 3: That's right, And that's why you know, it's not testing enough,
- 19:17Speaker 3: and that's why sometimes it takes years to find out.
- 19:21Speaker 3: But for those precious people who don't survive to find
- 19:25Speaker 3: out and never knew why it was, it was life threatening. Well,
- 19:30Speaker 3: you're exactly right. It's really important that we not put
- 19:34Speaker 3: foods on the market that have not been tested over
- 19:36Speaker 3: a long period of time. And you know what, if
- 19:38Speaker 3: you just go by Genesis one eleven and Genesis one
- 19:42Speaker 3: twenty nine, when God created our foods, he gave us
- 19:45Speaker 3: fruits vegetables, whole grains. He gave us the foods that
- 19:49Speaker 3: would sustain our life. In fact, you know God created food.
- 19:53Speaker 3: You go through those first few chapters of Genesis and
- 19:56Speaker 3: you find that God gave us our food before he
- 19:59Speaker 3: ever created us us, so he gave us perfect food.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Now I'm not saying that all of us can grow
- 20:04Speaker 3: our own food and never have a pesticide or a
- 20:08Speaker 3: bug fly over and drop anything on our food. We
- 20:10Speaker 3: don't live in the perfect world that God created in Genesis.
- 20:14Speaker 3: But if we can live as close to that, use
- 20:17Speaker 3: our food as close to the way God created it
- 20:20Speaker 3: without it being altered in any way, we're going to
- 20:23Speaker 3: be healthier for a longer period of time. We don't
- 20:25Speaker 3: have to worry what's in it. He put everything in
- 20:27Speaker 3: there we need. He put the vitamins, the minerals, all
- 20:31Speaker 3: the nutrients in there that we need. And our goal
- 20:34Speaker 3: in my family we try to eat at least seventy
- 20:37Speaker 3: five percent raw. Now we don't always do that. People say,
- 20:40Speaker 3: how do you eat out? Well, we go to restaurants
- 20:42Speaker 3: that have really amazing salad bars, and that salad bar
- 20:46Speaker 3: will be three fourths of what we eat, and then
- 20:48Speaker 3: we'll eat a small portion of the meat or of
- 20:50Speaker 3: the cooked foods. And you may not get there the
- 20:53Speaker 3: first day that you try this, but if you start thinking,
- 20:56Speaker 3: let me use foods or eat foods in as near
- 21:00Speaker 3: the way they were created without altering them so much,
- 21:05Speaker 3: then we're going to be healthier and start on a
- 21:08Speaker 3: journey to let that be a goal. Get to twenty
- 21:10Speaker 3: five percent raw or ten percent raw, and just start
- 21:14Speaker 3: from there, and you'll find that if you nourish your
- 21:17Speaker 3: body the way God intended you to, you will start
- 21:19Speaker 3: to crave the foods he created instead of craving candy
- 21:23Speaker 3: and junk food and those things that we're trying to
- 21:26Speaker 3: nourish our bodies on, particularly in America today. So that's
- 21:31Speaker 3: a real good rule.
- 21:32Speaker 2: To follow, you know, doctor mccaullaugh, I frequently wonder, you know,
- 21:35Speaker 2: when a person comes in not feeling well with either
- 21:38Speaker 2: a GI complaint or just they just don't feel good inside,
- 21:42Speaker 2: and you know, we do a battery test and we
- 21:44Speaker 2: can't find anything anything possible that it could be. You
- 21:48Speaker 2: just wonder whether it might be something that a person's
- 21:50Speaker 2: eating that might have you know, maybe it's a GMO
- 21:54Speaker 2: type issue or a pesticide or something that's stimulating their
- 21:57Speaker 2: immune system to attack or their body. Always wonder when
- 22:00Speaker 2: you can't find anything, well, maybe it's something a person's.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Eating that's exactly right. And another thing. We could do
- 22:06Speaker 3: a whole program on this too. What I have found
- 22:08Speaker 3: out over the many years that I've been studying this
- 22:11Speaker 3: and teaching it, that a lot of times. And Anne
- 22:14Speaker 3: Louise Gigelmann, who's the parasitologist extraordinaire who studied and written
- 22:19Speaker 3: all of this for years, She says, and I totally
- 22:21Speaker 3: agree that whenever doctors cannot find anything wrong with you,
- 22:25Speaker 3: they need to look for parasites. She says that seventy
- 22:29Speaker 3: five percent of Americans have some form of parasites in
- 22:34Speaker 3: their bodies. And we get parasites from the food we
- 22:39Speaker 3: eat and the junk we eat, the food that's not
- 22:41Speaker 3: cleaned or that has the wrong chemicals in it that
- 22:44Speaker 3: stimulate this or whatever. And these are living organisms that
- 22:48Speaker 3: live off of our bodies. One book she wrote was
- 22:51Speaker 3: It's what You're eating You not a very not a
- 22:55Speaker 3: yuck it's yuck yuck. It's not a very pleasant subject.
- 22:58Speaker 3: But when you consider generally we have some form of
- 23:03Speaker 3: parasite in our body, that if we don't have a
- 23:05Speaker 3: strong immune system to get rid of those parasites, that
- 23:09Speaker 3: they can be affecting and our health in a way
- 23:13Speaker 3: that you can even find out from those normal tests
- 23:15Speaker 3: that we do when we do the medical testing. But
- 23:19Speaker 3: toxins don't show up in medical testing. An overload of
- 23:23Speaker 3: chemicals in your bodies don't show up show up in
- 23:26Speaker 3: those kinds of tests, and neither do parasites if they're
- 23:29Speaker 3: in your body. And I know sometime we do the
- 23:31Speaker 3: occult test and you see, well you don't have parasites.
- 23:34Speaker 3: What about if they're in your liver or any other
- 23:36Speaker 3: organ in your body, they don't show up there, we'll
- 23:38Speaker 3: call it.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Unfortunately, we're all out of time, and if you want
- 23:41Speaker 2: to get yeah, we are. If you want to get
- 23:43Speaker 2: a hold of doctor, we'll call it. Go to our website,
