- 0:00[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome on in two big play Cleveland live presented by Fandles as Jack a worker alongside Cleveland Browns on SI insider Nick Padone and the go to himself Chris Reef log McNeil guys have you Friday how you doing today.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_03]: It is a Friday.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_03]: The Browns are off that practice field today.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_03]: We are inside.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_03]: We are in the air conditioning.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_03]: It is much cooler in here than it has been for me the last couple of days.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_03]: But we've got a packed show, a fun show for you guys Sam Amiko going to be joining us at 1230 to break down Peyton Watson joining our calves.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_03]: You guys have done an awesome job with the coverage of that on the program this week and then Gab Gaudi at 1 o'clock.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_03]: talking guards big weekend in store for them as they try to turn this thing around.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_03]: But guys, it was a fun time out there in Berea and we got high school football back.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_02]: But let's talk about that joint practice yesterday.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_02]: Nick, you had the chance to get out there.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, what was your biggest takeaway from Thursday's joint practice?
- 0:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah guys, I honestly thought Todd Munkin said it really well.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_03]: They look like they belong and I know we'll raise the banner here in late August because it looked like they belong for a joint practice against the Buffalo Bills and what can't get lost in this is that these are two organizations that are entering the 2026 season in very different positions.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_03]: Like the bills are obviously
- 1:21[SPEAKER_03]: playoff bound Super Bowl aspirations MVP candidate in Josh Allen, whereas the Browns neglected to address that quarterback position this off season and traded away the greatest player on the defensive side of the ball that this generation has seen in Biles Garrett.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_03]: So these are in two different organizations in two very different spots.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_03]: but it wasn't embarrassing.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_03]: It could have looked so much worse than what it actually looked like.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_03]: Both quarterbacks had really good moments throughout this practice.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_03]: The defense, uh, they were going to get Josh Allen.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_03]: So what are you going to do?
- 1:56[SPEAKER_03]: You know, the defense definitely was tested for the first time, probably this training camp, um, but overall it looked like they belonged.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_03]: And I really think in a joint practice setting against a great team like Buffalo.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_03]: That's really all you can ask for Chris.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_02]: What are thoughts on the news kind of breaking out a camp that in the first like real litmus test against another football team outside of last week's preseason game.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: The Browns kind of held their own against an elite AFC contender like the Bills.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I'll take it, right?
- 2:25[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know that you can expect any more than that as a fan right now because you know what this team is, right?
- 2:32[SPEAKER_04]: As Nick said, we don't have a quarterback.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_04]: I don't believe Dishon Watson's a bridge to know where should or we may have something in should or we haven't seen it yet.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_04]: Hopefully he's able to progress.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_04]: And then we've got a bunch of young guys just all over the place.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_04]: And that's where the excitement lies, right?
- 2:46[SPEAKER_04]: Guys, like Casey Concept, she owned had a couple of huge plays there against the bills.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_04]: You love to see that.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_04]: You see the same thing with Denzel Boston.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_04]: He's going to be a guy.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_04]: Nick, you mentioned before the running game is actually doing something a little bit.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_04]: We're seeing Dylan Samson out there, starting to carve it up a little bit.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, my concern on the offense is going to be that offensive line.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_04]: But,
- 3:08[SPEAKER_04]: you've still got a lot of position players, a lot of talent positions, where we have significant upgrades, I think over last year, and they're young guys.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_04]: So that is where your optimism lies.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_04]: Defensive side of the ball, boy Nick, the one thing that really worries me on this team, I think we do have an elite defense, but you can't truly be elite unless you have depth.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_04]: And once again, we see another blow to that depth potentially.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_04]: We're already thin at corner back.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_04]: Now we're looking at ends.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, there are some concerns for anybody who's watched this team.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_04]: You say, hey, the Browns have had a good defensive last couple of years.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_04]: It's not so much the loss of miles Garrett because I think we replaced him nicely with Jared verse, and I think I'd like what we've done there, but my concern is going to be with the depth going forward.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and a big blow on that front yesterday at practice, the one thing you really didn't want to see happen happened.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_03]: And Alex Wright was carted off with a lower left leg injury.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_03]: He tried to pop right back up.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_03]: It happened in a one on one drill against Buffalo starting right tackle.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_03]: He went down right away.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_03]: immediately realized he couldn't put any weight on that leg and you know needed assistance getting on to the cart.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_03]: I'm told the team fears that this is an injury that would keep Alex right out for quite some time.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_03]: And we saw that the team knows how thin they are at this position already when they worked out Zedarius Smith and tried to sign him.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_03]: When they worked out Jadavian Clownie and hoped that he would want to sign back in Cleveland.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_03]: they understand that Eddrasher is a very peculiar spot and now the unfortunate reality is they're trying to plan for life without Alex Wright for this season, which could be a huge blow if that's truly how severe this injury actually is.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_04]: Now Nick Brown's facing the hosts of defense events passed.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_04]: What's Courtney Brown up to these days?
- 5:07[SPEAKER_04]: You know, the silence going during him and
- 5:09[SPEAKER_04]: anything that we could get.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_04]: We need to fill some bodies out there.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_04]: We need to have somebody who can create some pressure for this defense and man, Nick, that's a big, big, concerned spot for the Cleveland Browns right now.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_02]: So Nick, do you think it's more likely now?
- 5:24[SPEAKER_02]: Cause as you mentioned, great point, like, hey, you tried to sign as a dairy a Smith literally last week.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_02]: So you already knew that D line was going to be some sort of issue coming with the edge rusher's.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think the Browns do out and make an go do go out and make an external move, whether it's a trade or a signing, or do you think we should start to get used to the names like Isaiah McGuire, Julian Aquara, more?
- 5:41[SPEAKER_03]: Well, those guys are going to get a big role inherently.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_03]: I'm curious to see guys how they manage Saturday against the bills because we know that no starters are going to play and they don't have any, you know, rookie starting on that defensive line, but.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_03]: But now you really might want to only play a quora a little bit because you're gonna need them to get through the rest of this camp and another full preseason game Again, you know the Patriots to wrap this thing up.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_03]: So they're gonna leave no stone unturned It would not surprise me at all, especially as we get closer to that final roster cut-down day if they could maybe trade
- 6:20[SPEAKER_03]: a draft pick for an edged rusher.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_03]: They have 11 draft picks in their arsenal and you could certainly part with a day three pick for somebody that could be some upgraded depth.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe somebody gets cut and you could scour the waiver wire.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_03]: There are still a few high profile vets out there that they can go after like a Joey Bozara Hassan writing.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_03]: If they want to go big name hunting those names
- 6:44[SPEAKER_03]: are still out there, but it is going to open up an opportunity for Isaiah McGuire, you know, as soon as tomorrow's preseason game against Buffalo, you know, and the, you know, week that follows that McGuire Aquora, these guys are all going to have, you know, an increased opportunity because this defensive line was already thin and Alex right definitely isn't going to be out there anytime soon.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_02]: So guys kind of opened up the floor to both you that is very well the only time we're going to see the brown starter stays off against the other teams Best true best on best probably for the last time until we really get going for real you'd have to bet Nick how much more confidence do you have after watching this group yesterday or not I guess then you then you made it may have coming in
- 7:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think I'm confident because I saw that baseline competence that you just don't know what it's going to look like until they're facing off with another team.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_03]: And obviously this is a practice setting where the coaches get together ahead of time and they compare notes and they contrast what each team wants to.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_03]: work on and get accomplished, but we've heard so much about the pre-snap stuff and some of the operational things that have been messy.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_03]: I've been out there at Camp and I've seen some of the struggles they've had to get out of the huddle to get lined up to identify things before the snap.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, there were a few moments in a few lapses in Thursdays practice against the bills where that issue flared up, but it wasn't every single time out.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_03]: They were able to effectively move the ball on the ground with Samsung, as well as Rocket Sanders.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_03]: They were able to throw the ball to their two rookie wide receivers.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_03]: Harold Fanon was out there catching passes.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_03]: So like, you saw that baseline competence.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_03]: So like, it doesn't change me off my pivot, you know, too much because at the end of the day,
- 8:29[SPEAKER_03]: it is not the end of the world, how they looked, even if they came out and looked really good or looked really bad, this was a practice, they weren't keeping score, but it definitely should be encouraging to Brown's fans that you saw things that you could take away that are tangible.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_03]: Chris.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_04]: Nick, you're going to have to address this, though.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_04]: This is one of the differences you get from a guy like me.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just kind of monitoring this stuff over social media, seeing what clips are out there, what's coming up, what's being said by our team, what's being said by the other team.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_04]: All over social media, there was this talk that the bills were saying we're checked down city.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_04]: What did you see out there?
- 9:10[SPEAKER_04]: Did you see these guys are quarterbacks just checking down and awful lot more than normal?
- 9:15[SPEAKER_04]: Or did you see them open it up and kind of take the top off a little bit?
- 9:18[SPEAKER_04]: Because I saw a mix of both.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_03]: Honest answer are politically correct.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_03]: Answer.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_03]: Give me the honest answer.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_03]: That's why I'm asking you Nick.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_04]: You were actually there.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_04]: You're not.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_04]: You don't have any agenda.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_04]: You were sitting there in the stands.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_04]: You were taking this all in.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_04]: You got to give me the honest answer.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_03]: it was check down city okay but but shouldn't that be what it is this year shouldn't that be where the browns are at their best you know and to Sean Watson and should or senders both had nice throws down field I've you know was telling you Chris before the show can sepsion had too long grabs over the middle.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_03]: Denzel Boston when they were working on the two-minute hurry-up offense caught a really nice ball You know, I'm this boundary that move the sticks and kept the thing rolling So so they did have nice throws down field throughout the day, but at large when you zoom out and you look at the macro
- 10:13[SPEAKER_03]: It was a lot of Dink and Dunks, but that's where they found their success, like Dylan Samson had a great day running the football and a good day catching the football, with a lot of the screen stuff that they were doing, both of the tight ends, you know Blake Whitehart, Plus Harold Fannon Jr. had nice days because they're
- 10:31[SPEAKER_03]: They were working on the short game and that might be how you have to live in this offense because both of these quarterbacks have their downfalls and and for Deshawn Watson I don't know that that zip is ever going to be back the way that we wanted it to be you know the way that it was in 2019 and for Shador Sanders
- 10:50[SPEAKER_03]: He certainly has the arm in the accuracy.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_03]: It's just that he wants to use it all the time.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_03]: So they're almost trying to pair him back a little bit and try to get him to function as an actual NFL quarterback.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_03]: Instead of just being wildly talented, wildly accurate, Uncle Rico that just wants to go out there and make big throw after big throw.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_03]: So that's where they're at right now.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_03]: It was checked out in city when you zoom out and look at the macro.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_02]: big throws down field that were completions and you guys saw the couple of you know it the interceptions pass break up that had that happened to guys let's keep talking about the side here on the Cleveland headline segment brought to you by smart choice best the story of the day as mentioned is Casey concept you came out had the two biggest catches the day guys are we now pass the point of like always this preseason high like the camp videos are cool the greeny footage is good should be that excited about Casey concepts
- 11:48[SPEAKER_03]: Both of these rookies are going to have an awesome opportunity in front of them, because this position room is going to be theirs for years to come.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_03]: You don't take somebody in the first round and expect them to be anything but a wide receiver number one in this league.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_03]: Denzel Boston could have been a first round draft pick as well.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_03]: So you really have two guys that could have been top number one draft selections.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they're going to have a massive opportunity.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_03]: Now, in terms of what they've done on the practice field, it's been really good and you guys have all seen the highlights.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_03]: They got a build on this, though, because we've seen joint practice footage, practice footage from Burya, where guys like Elijah Moore, are subjectilmen look like the reincarnate of, you know, Montana and Rice.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_03]: So, so we've been duped before we don't want to be duped again, but thus far.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_03]: You know, what was the concern with Denzel Boston?
- 12:46[SPEAKER_03]: It was the separation because he is so big.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_03]: no concern there, I haven't seen that one bit.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_03]: Casey can sepsio in the drops.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_03]: I can't say that I haven't seen him drop a ball, but it's certainly not an issue.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_03]: I've seen him catch more than he's dropped.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_03]: That's for sure.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, we should be excited about these two players because they're going to have a huge opportunity to make an impact at a big position in need for this team in a similar way that fan and impact at the tight end room last year.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_03]: And Juddkins impacted the running back room last year.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_02]: Chris, what are your recommendations for Casey?
- 13:20[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and it'll be interesting to see then how either quarterback, whether it's Watson or Shudder, how they find them, how they utilize them in space because we saw it small sample size, but we saw it in that first preseason game.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_04]: There were times so Watson was just missing those guys down field.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_04]: And that's not any of those guys that's going to be on Watson.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_04]: These, this team has got to come together from a chemistry standpoint.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_04]: So not only had these workies got to be doing the right things, which it seems like to your point, Nick, that they are, and certainly some exciting things out on the field.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_04]: We also need, once again, it all comes back to the QB ultimately.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_04]: We need the QBs to find them down field.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_04]: And then we're, then we've got to,
- 13:58[SPEAKER_04]: exciting team.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_04]: We have an exciting offense for the first time in a long time.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_04]: You really can look at some weapons.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_04]: You say, man, if I'm a defense, I've got a really game plan for these guys.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_04]: And that's not something we've always seen from the Cleveland round.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_03]: You see the pieces.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_03]: You see the pieces, right?
- 14:12[SPEAKER_03]: And there's been so much chatter about is this team a quarterback away.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_03]: I
- 14:16[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, they probably have a couple other pieces on this roster that they certainly need than just quarterback.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_03]: A quarterback would help, don't get me wrong, and that's obviously the thing that would move the needle the most in terms of how many games are you going to win in a year.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_03]: But I also think this is going to be a year of development.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_03]: We're like, Phenose got to come along as a left tackle in this league.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_03]: These two receivers are gonna have their moments where you go, oh my god, that's a rookie receiver.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_03]: Now they're also going to have their moments where they do something really fantastic and we're gonna be able to all say, okay, this is why we're buying hope in these players that they're gonna be difference makers for this thing for years to come.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_03]: their first your players and even the second year guys are going to be young players in this league this is going to be a very young team and an inexperienced team and a team that has a first time had coach and all three first time coordinators.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_03]: So they are still trying to exit this rebuild here and if you're looking for reasons to be excited yeah this new look offense really should be outside of the inconsistency at quarterback.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: Nick, before we talk about Denzel Boston, let me ask you a question about Casey Conceptsy on because we did talk about the check-down city a little bit like the Bill's defense, the elegant stuff, how much can a receiver who is twitchy and gets off the line fast and little and might have growing hands and seems in Casey Conceptsy on fit into an offense like that.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_02]: It almost seems like that could be an ideal scenario for Casey.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, cause he could do anything like he could he could beat you in the slot.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_03]: He could beat you deep like he can be kind of that gadget guy that can do the end around in the motion stuff like He can hurt you in so many different ways that if you you need a guy like that and it's such a cheap easy comp to make because everybody's made it including the head coach of the team, but It's the exact type of success that the Baltimore Ravens have found was a flowers where what kind of receiver even is a flowers.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know he's in a knowing
- 16:11[SPEAKER_03]: one because he's all over the field.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_03]: He could catch deep balls.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_03]: He could catch short passes and take them deep.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_03]: He could do a little craziness on special teams.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_03]: He, you know, could take handoffs and run with the football in his handling.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_03]: He's a playmaker.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_03]: And this is a Brown's team that did not have many of those over these last two seasons.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_03]: So it is really nice.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_02]: So Chris, as we mentioned, Zack Jackson said that his MVP of the practice was Casey Concepcion.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_02]: The bill's beatwriter for the athletic though said that Denzel Boston was his browns MVP for the practice.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_02]: How good is that to be a two-young receivers who are MVP worthy in a joint practice?
- 16:47[SPEAKER_04]: I love it, neck and neck for both of them too, two different unique perspectives and both of them pointed to our wider severs.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_04]: So that's a different and a stark change from what we've seen in the past from the Browns.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_04]: We actually have two weapons, two threats to that defense and two guys who are playing well, especially as rookie.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_04]: So,
- 17:06[SPEAKER_04]: You know, let's not get the carton front of the horse on this.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_04]: We got to see it on Sunday.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_04]: We got to see it when the lights come on and they're actually playing a meaningful game.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_04]: And we've got to see it when they're going through the tough times, too.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_04]: We know this offense is going to struggle.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_04]: How are they going to respond?
- 17:19[SPEAKER_04]: How are they going to respond when you have Casey conception has his first drop?
- 17:22[SPEAKER_04]: How is he going to respond to that?
- 17:24[SPEAKER_04]: How are they going to respond to, you know, having a little bit of success out there?
- 17:27[SPEAKER_04]: So there's a lot of scenarios we've got to see from the guys, but
- 17:31[SPEAKER_04]: All the early returns, I am thrilled that of both of these draft picks for Andrew Barry and what they can do for the Cleveland Browns and I think all Browns fans really should.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_02]: Nick, you never want to have to pick between your children ever, but who should Browns sands be more excited about or higher on at this point in camp, case you can substitute under Denzel Boston.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I can't pick just one.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_03]: I really can't because they've needed, they've needed more of and they've needed both of these guys for a really long time.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_03]: They've needed an explosive playmaker like KC that could make a difference in multiple phases of the game, and they needed a big body true X receiver like Denzel Boston.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_03]: So like it wouldn't surprise me if it like obviously assuming competent quarterback play at least somewhat.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_03]: And relatives, you know, health for both of them, I wouldn't be surprised if like numbers wise.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_03]: They both had pretty similar rookie
- 18:26[SPEAKER_03]: I'd be surprised if there was like a stark difference between the two because I think they're both going to get mass of opportunity It just looks different because they're two very different receivers with no overlap So let me ask you this Nick now we talked so much about these two guys
- 18:42[SPEAKER_04]: where they're basically sitting behind nobody, right?
- 18:44[SPEAKER_04]: They're one and two.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_04]: They're the guys.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_04]: You still got Jerry Judy out there.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_04]: What's his role on this team, then Nick?
- 18:49[SPEAKER_04]: What have you seen?
- 18:50[SPEAKER_04]: So far in camp.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_04]: Does he really fit in at all on this team?
- 18:53[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I mean, he's with the one.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_03]: So it's starting role still for Jerry Judy, but I do wonder if this is kind of, yeah, it
- 19:02[SPEAKER_03]: is the handwriting on the wall for Jerry, you know, because it certainly feels like through a couple of practices in the spring, and we think we were out there a dozen times, and then yesterday was day number 17 of training camp, you come
- 19:17[SPEAKER_03]: to know what the future of this wide receiver position group looks like and you know it's going to be conception Boston and I throw Isaiah Bond in there who's really came on late in camp maybe a little bit of a quieter practice yesterday but that's not really an indictment on anything he's a physical guy and I'm sure he was enjoying his run blocking responsibilities of receiver out there too.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_03]: You know what the future of this position room looks like though.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_04]: So you still see some drops from him right now.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_04]: Don't you?
- 19:48[SPEAKER_04]: Are you still seeing that right now or is he played pretty well?
- 19:51[SPEAKER_04]: Where's Jerry Judy at?
- 19:52[SPEAKER_03]: Well, you said, yeah, the one that won fire all certainly wasn't good the other day.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_03]: You know, he dropped one right in the end zone from Shidorah.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_03]: There've been a couple other, but like all the, you know, it's practice.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, he's caught touchdowns.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_03]: He's dropped touchdowns like it.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_03]: And the drop touchdowns get more attention on social media than the caught ones do.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_03]: Sure.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_04]: And that's fair.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_04]: And that's fair.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_04]: And you know, he's probably going to be on the team this year and I expect him to.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_04]: And as a veteran, you know, he's got to provide some leadership to, you know, you got a really young wide receiver room there.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_04]: And although we're throwing all kinds of bouquets at these guys saying they're great.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_04]: We're still sitting in August.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_04]: This is this is just the very beginning for these guys just got drafted.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_04]: It's trying to have anything gone through the first game of a regular season.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_04]: So I look for Jerry Judy, the kind of fulfill a role that he hasn't been asked to do so far this year.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_03]: It also wouldn't surprise me to say, we're all high on this right because we're talking about the young players.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_03]: It's easy to get bought into these young players because last year's rookie class looks so good.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_03]: And this one looks to be just as promising.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_03]: At the end of the day, though, we know how difficult this schedule is going to be when the real paths come on and when the real games are played.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_03]: I wonder if we get to a situation where you get around that trade deadline and the team hasn't won many games.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_03]: I know a lot of people were thinking maybe Denzel War Grant dealt bit.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_03]: maybe if you could get a fourth or a fifth round pick for somebody like Jerry Judy, maybe that's a trade that would be executed you know, pending wins and losses towards the deadline.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_03]: Because I just don't think he's going to have a big future in this thing because the two rookies are going to get a huge opportunity to be the ones producing this year.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_02]: guys, it's time to turn it forward towards Saturday versus the bills coming off of the joint practices.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_02]: Nick, so we're at this weird point where last weekend to Sean gets to start to Sean doesn't throw an interception, but he kind of holds on the ball for a little bit, fumbles that other teammates to the ball, then Shador goes out and throws a bad pick.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_02]: Then yesterday, a joint practices, Shador gets the chance in the two-minute drill, doesn't have to turn over, but holds on to the ball too long, sack that pretty much puts the kibash on the drill to Sean throws a pretty bad interception.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: Where do we even sit in this quarterback battle?
- 22:07[SPEAKER_02]: First of all, and second, what can should our Sanders do with the start on Saturday to try and propel himself forward?
- 22:13[SPEAKER_02]: Or is it done?
- 22:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, guys.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_03]: I said on Monday, I think this thing is done.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_03]: And that feeling has not changed.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_03]: I think this quarterback competition is done.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think there's anything that should door Sanders can do with this juncture to catch up to Deshawn Watson to be the week one starting quarterback of the Browns.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_03]: Now, I don't think that that means
- 22:35[SPEAKER_03]: hang his hat or they should trade should door any of this stuff because I think the Browns are probably going to need to door at some point in this season, but I can't tell you that this is, you know, how it looks that these guys have looked so different is just in the reps and it's that.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_03]: to Sean is taking more starting reps with the ones right now, then should or Sanders and you look into that and say, well, that's the guy that they're getting ready to start week one because he's taking the starting reps. You look a little bit deeper into this matchup against Buffalo tomorrow on Saturday against Buffalo.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_03]: And you see, okay, Shoulder is going to get the start at quarterback, but there aren't going to be any starters out there with him outside of maybe a couple young guys for a few series.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_03]: So he's going to start the first half with the second and third string, like that doesn't really sound to me like a guy that they're getting ready to start at quarterback for the Brown.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_03]: So,
- 23:29[SPEAKER_03]: It is unfortunate it feels like it was a competition that was certainly weighted in the favor of Deshawn Watson.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_03]: We've kind of been saying that here at Big Play since before the NFL Combine when JW Johnson joined us in the studio and mentioned Deshawn Watson's name unprompted
- 23:47[SPEAKER_03]: twice during that interview, we kind of had a feeling that this was going to be a weighted competition in just Sean Watson's favor.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_03]: That's how this thing is going to unfold.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_03]: I really believe that at some point maybe next week, maybe it bleeds into the week after that, they're probably going to name to Sean Watson the starting quarterback at the Cleveland Brown.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_02]: Chris, let me ask you this though because and I'm just coming at this is I'm putting my fan hat on here, not in analytics hat on at all, I just think to myself, okay, if sure Sanders goes out there and from the hometown fans and publicly it seems like the correct battle still open, yeah, you haven't announced the guy yet, let's say should or goes out there and does well, it's it's a.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_02]: 12 for 15, 120 yards and two touchdowns and no picks and he's hitting a couple balls intermediate and maybe even a deep ball like he's starting with the accuracy to the second level and then some.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_02]: And then the Sean Watson goes out there and is weathery fumbles throws an interception.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_02]: The whole entire crowd is booing him.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: How can you justify to a fan base starting the second guy week one?
- 24:45[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think you can.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think you can.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_04]: I'm happy to have a baby or a girl from the fans that you cannot go to Deshawn Watson at that point.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_04]: If she had her plays that well, now there's the famous quote that if you make decisions based upon what the fans are telling you, you'll be sitting with them.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure Todd Monkins been around for long enough, he's going to make his own decision.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_04]: But boy, that sure does put a lot of pressure on this organization.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_04]: If all of a sudden, Shidorah shows something, because up to this point, he showed very little, and there is still a very strong drum beat for Shidorah Sanders, because Shidorah represents what could be, right?
- 25:21[SPEAKER_04]: to Sean Watson represents nothing.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_04]: He represents a bridge to nowhere.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_04]: So he is the opportunity.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_04]: So if he goes and gives the fans real reason and real analytical reasons on the field for him to be the starter come game one then that's going to be awful tough and they're going to be answering a lot of questions throughout this organization if they roll out there with to Sean Watson in game one.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_03]: The one thing that Shador can control in this though is Saturday and playing well and bowling out and letting the narrative take care of itself because of everything that you guys just laid out.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_03]: If he plays well and puts together that stat line where it's well over 100 yards and two touchdowns and no interceptions and you get a couple of highlight plays, you're going to have people walking out of that game and saying, well, how the hell
- 26:10[SPEAKER_03]: quarterback for this organization moving forward.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_03]: That noise is going to be coming from the local level.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_03]: That noise is going to be coming national level.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_03]: You're going to have people ready to jump on this thing because we just lived through this last year when he popped off against the Carolina Panthers.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_03]: That's when everybody said,
- 26:27[SPEAKER_03]: Well, how is in this guy getting opportunity in practice?
- 26:30[SPEAKER_03]: How are they treating him like he is some sort of distant prospect, you know, projected quarterback whereas we're seeing good results on the field.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_03]: He needs to have that clean game though because if the sacks and the interceptions pile up, then you're going to have the people saying the opposite.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_02]: Guys, that was Cleveland headlines brought to you by Smart Choice Bass.

- 27:23[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back to Big Play Cleveland Live, presented by Fandals as Jack Rook alongside Nick Padone and Chris McNeill, very excited to bring out now, Hoopswyer, reporter.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_02]: Sam and Miko, Sam, how are you doing today?
- 27:33[SPEAKER_02]: Happy Friday.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: Hey fellas, I'm doing well, thank you, I'm glad it's Friday.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, hey, best of the week.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: Sam, we brought you in because there are some massive calves and he's the one down this week.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_02]: First, the Peyton Watson trade with Denver.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_02]: He's in Cleveland now and then James Harden agrees to a three year 97 million dollar deal.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_02]: So, Sam, before we get into either of those moves specifically, and yeah, that is a lot of money.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_02]: I saw that face you made for James Harden.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_02]: Is this calves team better than the team that we were lamenting?
- 27:59[SPEAKER_02]: The day they got knocked out via the sweep by the New York
- 28:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think Peyton Watson's an upgrade over the wings that they had in in Dean Wade and and we all love him backstrues.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think Peyton Watson's obviously younger but more athletic really has a great shot blocker he's hitting threes and I think that
- 28:27[SPEAKER_01]: we look at the totality of his game and you think he still has another level to go to at just 23 years old.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, just him alone, I think upgrades that starting five quite a bit.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the bench and all that I think is probably about the same.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's a lot worse But you're gonna be relying on again another step from jail and Tyson another step from the quantum one.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're still gonna sign another big guy at some point here May not be this week or next week or until December, but
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's ways to improve the bet.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_01]: So overall, yeah, I think this is a better team than the one that went to the Eastern Conference Finals, that said I think there are several teams in the Eastern Conference who can make that claim that they're better than they were last year.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_04]: Sam, a lot of the response on social media for James Harden, was the three in the three-year deal.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_04]: The fact that it was the full three years there and a lot of people saying, that's a lot of time for a guy who's already up there.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_04]: Do you?
- 29:37[SPEAKER_04]: Does that tell you anything about what the calves think about their championship window?
- 29:41[SPEAKER_04]: Or does it tell you more about what they think about Harden himself?
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think at first and foremost, they obviously like James Hardner, you don't give them a three-year deal.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_01]: You can let them walk.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: You can, you know, there are other things you could do to sign a trade.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_01]: So they obviously think how we have them, I thought it would be going to be a three-year deal probably from the beginning, simply because, you know, the, the, the, the, the,
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be able to take less salary that way.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_01]: And then if he were to sign a two year deal, which would give them more flexibility.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that's a big reason it's three years and not two.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think the fact that he was willing to take less salary in each year is probably why his camp said, give us an extra season.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: We are kind of helping you guys out, helping us out.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_01]: to get a guy like Peyton Watson and make that trade and stay below the apron.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: So I think there's a, you know, you don't give a guy a three-year deal if you don't believe he's your starting point card for the next three years, which, yes, there are clear and fair questions about that because of his age and because guys, I think we all kind of saw him slow down last year a little bit, right?
- 30:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think
- 31:00[SPEAKER_01]: Just the eye test, we were kind of like, can see, is he slowing down?
- 31:04[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, there were moments he was fantastic.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the people forget that.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_01]: And the playoffs, there were a few games, where he was just carrying that.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: But, yeah, there's a lot of, I hear the questions all the time from cast fans or the actual,
- 31:21[SPEAKER_01]: almost anger that he's coming back.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_01]: So I think James Harden and the Cavs have a lot to prove.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_01]: Both of them this year as a unit, as a team, to the fans.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: And probably have to do it pretty quickly.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: There's going to be a lot more of this anger and some of it's directed at me because they resigned James Harden.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: But I knew you didn't want to say.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: I sometimes people tell me I'm not doing enough good enough job of motivating the team.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_04]: Sam, one of them.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_04]: I'll blame amigo.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_03]: one of the in the weeds things that happened in that Peyton Watson deal was the Cavs break up with Trayman sent him to Washington for Cam Whitmore.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_03]: Now it sounds like the Cavs might be releasing Cam Whitmore who is a young wing and maybe stretching that salary so they could do something like going out and getting another big man if they wanted to on that.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_03]: You know, discount, big man market.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_03]: Um, what do you make of that in the weeds move is that really something that's going to happen with Cam with more like where we at with that layer of the trade.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: It does sound like that's what's going to happen.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to, uh, what you call wave and stretch, which is you cut the player and you stretch a salary over a few seasons so that so that you do have more maneuverability under the cap.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: Um.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: I, and I think that's exactly what they would do that for is because they feel like we have listen, we got Watson, we've got Jaylon Tyson, we've got Sam Merrill at those spots, they just signed his own, yeah, I don't think that there's a whole lot of room for Kim Whitmore as much as I, I would have liked to have seen him stick around a little bit because there are injuries, but I think that the Cavaliers just feel like, yeah, we're pretty good on
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: And we can maintain some flexibility.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_01]: Sam.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_02]: Sam one interesting thing of note.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_02]: I think about Peyton Watson.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't fact get a payday from the calves when he made his way over to Cleveland.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_02]: And there were some cool things about Peyton Watson.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_02]: Like I've seen his three point shooting went up a lot last year.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_02]: He became a guy who was putting up 15 and five on a nightly basis when he was healthy.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_02]: But obviously like he has the injury tries to come back and March doesn't quite go right.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_02]: Said decides like having to sit out for a bit.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_02]: There was some speculation in Denver.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously I don't know how founded it is or not that Peyton Watson.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_02]: intentionally chose to set out the playoffs to keep his trade their trade value contract next contract value.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_02]: Hi, do you read anything into that at all or can you kind of talk about the messy breakup that Peyton Watson had his Denver because it is fun to get a guy like this, but there's also reason they were trading him in the first place.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, and I would say that about Jonathan Kominga too, you know, we obviously heard him link to the calves and with Jonathan Kominga, you were kind of like, well, why, you know, Golden State couldn't wait to get rid of him at land, it didn't recign him, and here he is still on sign.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_01]: So, I think there is something to that a little bit with Watson.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, sometimes these contract negotiations have a way of working themselves out.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, there's, you know, I don't know if you've seen this or heard this, but one general manager, I talked to said, well, I'm really surprised the cabs made a trade for Peyton Watson because he doesn't check the analytic boxes that they really, really value.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: you know and and he said I think he's a good player and I think he's going to be very good for him and I think it was a good trade but I'm surprised that the cabs themselves did that because they're so analytically driven as we know from last year's playoffs and Kenny Atkinson's comments but he doesn't check a lot of those boxes that they really value.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, listen, contract negotiations and every sport, they can get sticky and it gets to a point where a player is like, I don't even want to play there anymore.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_01]: They have a falling off with the general manager of the front office.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: There's never been any sign that this guy's a knucklehead though.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think that he was really liked by his teammate.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_01]: We heard in a call, a Yokech come out and say, you know, I wish a guy, well, really liked him.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: So I wouldn't, I wouldn't be too worried about that or the length of the contract or any of that, because I think it was a deal for both sides, both the calves, and even Denver that made some sense.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: The calves needed a starting small forward who can defend the Jalen Browns and Jason Tatems of the world.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think he got a fair deal and a good deal.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: And again, I think that his, he is untapped potential.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be your number five option most nights.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and that's a pretty good number five option.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: And there's going to be nights where he'll be number two.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: And he has that potential to do it and deliver when he is.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, whatever happened in Denver, it's a great deal for the cows.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think just all the way around.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: that was going to be my next question offensively how do you see him in the mix here you know with harden with Mitchell with mobile with Allen how do you see work offensively with that crew on the starting lineup yeah well he's a great finisher when it comes to even half court offense you know a lot of guys we heard the great finisher's and that means off the fast break he could take a dribbler to and slam it home in traffic in the half court
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: he's able to hit threes.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think he shot 41% on threes last year.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_01]: So he's going to shoot more than Dean Wade.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_01]: I can tell you that.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Dean Wade was taking one or two shots a game.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_01]: So he's going to be, I think that's exactly how to play out.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, listen, we've got, we want to get Evan Mobley more involved.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_01]: We want to get, uh, uh, I, I think the best situation for Peyton Watson is, uh, is thought of a Mitchell's averaging instead of 2627 points again, 20 to 22, you know, and not just for Peyton Watson for the team overall.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_01]: And that's nothing gives dawn of a Mitchell.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, scoring is not going to be a problem for this team too often.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_01]: They've got so many weapons.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_01]: There are those nights where Jared Allen does his Wilk Chamberlain impersonation a few times last year.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that comes out of nowhere a lot of times.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: What you want is you want
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: guys to avoid those Evan Mobile, I don't mean to pick on him, but he's the best example.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: 9.1 rebound games in the playoffs.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_01]: You don't want that from guys like that.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: Peyton Watson can have a 9.1 rebound game because that's who he is.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's who he's going to be in the offense.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: So there will be nights he will be
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: and mobly and Allen, there may be nights where Jalen Tyson comes in, and he's the number two option on a night.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: So I think it's a plus that he fits into that type of situation.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Watson, where he's a guy who, hey, look, a guy who doesn't need the ball, who's going to take more
- 38:55[SPEAKER_01]: is going to be more reliable right off the bat as much as we again.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_01]: We all love max screws.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be a more reliable offensive weapon.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, guy that you can't leave open or forget about if you're the opposing defense.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_02]: Sam, final question for you.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_02]: We need you to put it on the record for us.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_02]: Do the Cleveland Cavaliers make the 2000 and 27 NBA finals?
- 39:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yes or no, and show us your work.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_02]: Tell us why.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_04]: You know, August, you're awesome.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_04]: That's a lot.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_02]: For the first week, that's a whole show.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, hey, we got time for this.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_01]: I, I, that's not even fair.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_01]: They got a good shot.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yes, because, I mean, I, I, I, I certainly could see it happening.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know, listen, they remind me a lot, the calves, of the nicks from the year before.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_01]: What everybody said, fire the coach, a difference as a nicks did fire the coach, brought it in Mike Brown, I don't want it all.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I see a lot and hear a lot where you can't win with two smaller guards and really they don't have two smaller guards anymore.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: They got a smaller shooting card and Mitchell.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: And two big guys.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's a clunky.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think that they're right there.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think they.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_01]: could be, listen, but we've had eight different champions in eight years.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_01]: And the Indiana Pacers, two years ago, got super hot and went all the way to the finals, right?
- 40:23[SPEAKER_01]: And they got hot after December.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: New York, next last year, they were a bus saw.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: They were down in their series against the Atlanta box and the first round.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: And we were all thinking, well, it's the next for you.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_01]: And then all of a sudden, they're a bus saw.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_01]: But they're going to need to be a little more physical.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_01]: They got more physical.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: And they put them up.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_01]: They are precise on the wing.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_01]: They've got a productive wing.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of times in these situations, it's going to come down to your bench.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: How does Maryland play?
- 40:58[SPEAKER_01]: How does Tyson play?
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: How does whoever wins the backup point guard spot play?
- 41:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's Craig Porter Jr.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: If it's somebody else, you know, I'm a league Thomas or, you know, I don't know the hook played backup point, but how, my, my two biggest fears with the calves is they're not a great ball handling team.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_01]: you know, I know they have hard to make sure those.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: They're not great ball handlers.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_01]: They're great scores and and they do other things incredibly well.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: But that's one fear.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_01]: My other fear is you've, you know, if Nikwan Tomlin, is it your answer at
- 41:35[SPEAKER_01]: reserve big.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to go out and get somebody else because I don't think that Thomas Brian's going to be the solution there either.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_01]: But, to answer your question, Jack.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I think that they have a very great shot to get to the finals, you know, depending on who they face, that's another another question.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_01]: But, I think they're right there in the Eastern Conference.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I would have said that three or four days ago.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_01]: But,
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think anything can happen.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_01]: There is good to me as anybody on paper can they bring it all together as always a question.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_02]: Sam, thank you so much for joining us as always.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_02]: I believe we'll see you before the NBA season starts.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it a little big play new house boxing.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_02]: How about that?
- 42:17[SPEAKER_02]: Can we get you out there for that?
- 42:20[SPEAKER_01]: I would be more than happy to come out for that, but yeah, maybe there'll be something to discuss again before the NBA season.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of hope not that I don't want to see guys.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: I just think that maybe it's time for a little vacation.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_01]: And we can all at least I can focus on why should or should be the starting quarterback and get that rest up.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_01]: I always tune into you guys saying that.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_02]: Sam, thanks for joining us and make sure you join me, Sam, and all of us here at New House Boxing.

- 43:46[SPEAKER_02]: I can't wait.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'm counting down the days.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_02]: Guys, don't go anywhere.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be right back with a little bit of Cleveland court.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_02]: You're on Big Play Cleveland Live.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back to Big Play Cleveland Live presented by Fandle.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_02]: It is time for Cleveland Sports, Civil Court, Nick and Reeflog are going to be hearing about six civil cases we have going on right now between our Cleveland sports teams.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_02]: And you guys have to tell me guilty or not guilty, give your pitch as to why, and then we will adjourn court after.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_02]: What if I prefer to settle outside of court, then you could probably play quarterback for your Cleveland Browns.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_02]: So we're going to start out, case number one.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_02]: the people versus the Cleveland Brown's quarterback competition.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_02]: Guys, the charge, the Brown's never actually held a fair quarterback competition.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_04]: That's guilty.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_04]: The Brown's a guilty of that.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_04]: It never was a fair quarterback competition this year.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_04]: I think that team was prime in the prompt pump early back in February when ownership came on these airways.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_04]: And they said, just Sean Watson is in the mix when we didn't even
- 44:48[SPEAKER_04]: And since that time, there's been this constant under stream of Deshawn Watson.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_04]: We've seen Shodder, we've seen him get a shake, but I think ultimately, they want to see if this bridge is no bridge to nowhere is worth one last trip over it.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_04]: I don't buy it, but the Browns do.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_03]: You know, it was a weighted competition is what I keep saying.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_03]: I want to say that it was fair, so I want to say that the Browns are innocent here because both quarterbacks have had so much of an opportunity with this thing.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_03]: Like both Sanders and Watson are going to have a preseason start.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_03]: They both had so many raps with the ones that I actually wonder.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_03]: are we going to get to that point during the regular season if things start going well and say well what do you expect whoever is the starting quarterback didn't get all of those starting reps because they were rotating every day into the last week of August.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_03]: So I will say that they both had an opportunity to win this competition and that makes it fair.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_03]: But boy was this thing certainly weighted in the Sean Watson's favor, and I think he was able to confirm that weighted competition by winning it.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_02]: So it's not guilty or your answer then.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_02]: not guilty and a guilty guys judge does have his ruling on that.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_02]: That is not guilty.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_02]: The Cleveland Browns are not guilty of not hosting a fair court competition.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_02]: Jimmy has them would love nothing more than they have the highest jersey sales in the NFL.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_02]: We should or Sanders playing quarterback every single week.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_02]: Case number two.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_02]: Travis Pazana should no longer be in every day player for the Cleveland Guardians.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_04]: not guilty no no no no no no no I know he's not playing well right now you're talking about a guy who represented us in the all-star game you're talking about a guy who got called up this year you're talking about one of the top picks in the draft
- 46:44[SPEAKER_04]: You've got to be playing this guy.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_04]: We complain all the time when we don't play our young guys up here in the majors We finally got a guy who's doing it.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_04]: He's going through the normal ups and downs You've got to play Travis Pazana every single day keep that Aussie out there.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you do
- 46:59[SPEAKER_03]: And I get that people are frustrated because this offense is frustrating and he is one of the most frustrating offensive bats in that frustrating line up, but you got to stay with him like more important than going to the postseason or winning a series in October for this team is Travis Beson a turning into a good second baseman and more importantly a good option in this batting line up.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_03]: So they got to do whatever is best for Travis Besanta and his development as a hitter in this league.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_03]: Whether that's keeping him in the lineup, then good do it.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_03]: If it's taking a model line up, then okay do it.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_03]: That's more important to this organization right now than even making the playoffs.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_03]: It's turning him into an actual bat that he needs to be.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_02]: You guys are, you guys are great jerseys.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm gonna say guilty guys, I'm going against you guys and saying that not guilty is wrong.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_02]: Because it's stored every day.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_02]: The word every day is in there.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_02]: Travis Pizana should not be in line of every day against Lieutenant Pitching.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_02]: Travis Pizana should be playing 22 to 23 games a month, but not every day.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_02]: This is my gripe with Travis Pizana.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_04]: Guys, play, I'm home for two, let's go.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's just, he's, it's been bad.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, never mind, we're not gonna get, we're not gonna get on the kid too hard.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_02]: He's a rookie.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_02]: Cass fans should expect an MBA finals appearance this season.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely guilty.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, we should expect it.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_04]: This team is building.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_04]: It's supposed to be building for the next level.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_04]: We've been doing that and stuck in the mud for the last few years.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_04]: Now we've made our move.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_04]: We bring in Watson.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_04]: We think that that's the adjustment that's going to bring us to the next level.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, you don't make the move for hard not saying that you're going to win right now.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_04]: This team should be winning and they should as calves and we should hold
- 48:46[SPEAKER_04]: this year.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Chris.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_03]: I'm right there with you.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_03]: Like this is a team that was literally on the doorstep and they decided to bring back Kenny Akinson.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_03]: They decided to bring back James Harden.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_03]: They decided to upgrade their wing position with Peyton Watson.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_03]: Even though I'm still upset that they didn't land a big fish in a championship level player like a Jalen Brown or a LeBron James or a
- 49:11[SPEAKER_03]: Peyton Wattson is a better true option on the wing at the three than Dean Wade and Keyon Ellis, the guys that you lost.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_03]: This offseason.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_03]: Max Trish was injured for much the last year, but when he came back, he didn't make that big impact that the team really needed from him.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm ultimately really good with what the calves did this offseason despite the fact that I'm hurt.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_03]: that they didn't get a championship level player and the expectation should absolutely be and be a finals.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_03]: And if they fall short of that, I think Cavs fans have the right to be upset.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_02]: guilty.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely guilty.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_02]: You guys are 100% right about that.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_02]: The Cavs have to win a championship this year.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_02]: Case number four.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_02]: We're halfway.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_02]: They were flying through civil court today.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_02]: The charge Browns fans are getting way too carried away with the case he can set up on hype guilty or not guilty.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely guilty and I hope that the football gods aren't watching us too closely in Cleveland because everybody's talking about this guy.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_04]: He is fantastic.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_04]: I am excited by him.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_04]: I know everybody else is.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_04]: We're really starved for weapons right now in Cleveland.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_04]: He represents that.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_04]: He represents what we think could be one of the missing links toward this team actually being competitive.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_04]: So there's all kinds of reasons for it.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, we're a little over cooked right now.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_04]: We got to see him in actual game action here, Nick.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_03]: not guilty, draft him in fantasy, let your hair down like Jack and have a little bit of fun with KC concepts, because I do think that this is a guy that's going to contribute this year.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_03]: In multiple phases for this football team, like if the quarterback played doesn't allow him to be that downfield burner, okay, he could contribute
- 50:52[SPEAKER_03]: in motion.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_03]: He could contribute in the screen game.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to return a couple puns throughout this season.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't think that Browns fans should curb their excitement.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_03]: You got to be excited for something going into this season.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_03]: Let's yourself be excited for Casey.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_03]: You can see him.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_02]: Not guilty.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_02]: Nick, how could you be wrong about that right there?
- 51:13[SPEAKER_02]: The Browns offensive has been so bad for the last like three, four years now at this point where how could you not be
- 51:22[SPEAKER_02]: Final case, the people versus Cleveland, or oh, sorry.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_02]: Second, penultimate case, Steven vote.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_02]: Does there's more criticism for the Guardian's struggles this season?
- 51:31[SPEAKER_02]: Guilty or not guilty?
- 51:32[SPEAKER_04]: Well, yeah, if we're going to give a manager of the year when he gets us to the playoffs, when right now we're sluggling, he should get a bunch of the criticism.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_04]: I don't like the way he's handled our pitchers, especially pulling a few too early.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_04]: His infatuation with Matt Festa at times has just driven me nuts.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_04]: And the fact that the lineups, I know that we still haven't figured out anything, but there is absolutely no consistency.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_04]: I understand that there's no consistency in our lineup, but at least give us some consistency on paper.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_04]: Let's see if we can get a lineup that we can stack for a little while, the same way so that we can see if we can get some results.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_04]: And I just have not seen that this year.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_04]: He seems to be pulling too many strings and none of them seem to be working right now.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_03]: I think Stephen Volk probably, it would be in his best interest right now to tell the laptop gang to take a hike.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_03]: Like I think they fall in way too in love with the righty lefty, what the data tells them.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_03]: The other night, when they get blanked one nothing by the San Francisco Giants, you've got to have one of Joe Adele or Chase DeLater in that lineup.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_02]: I don't need to be, I should judge.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_02]: I'll have a map before this is sick.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_04]: He throw me in six runs.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_04]: How many of his PD helpin' have this season?
- 52:43[SPEAKER_03]: I don't care if it's a righty.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_03]: I don't care if it's a lefty.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_03]: This is an enemic offense, and I need my best players in this lineup.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know how much blame vote really deserves for that.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_03]: Directly, I think that's an organizational thing.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_03]: It's the people versus Cleveland Guardians organizational approach when it comes to the on plate
- 53:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think Steve, I think he's going to be doing it because he helped me.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's going to line up too much, but there is organizationally like what is Cleo Watson doing in AAA for you while Pete helping us up here living and breathing and playing away for your Cleveland Guardians.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_02]: The people versus Cleveland Sports fans, guys.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_02]: Cleveland Sports fans are the most miserable fan base in America, guilty or not guilty.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, this was a fun to bathe not guilty not guilty at all this was a fun to bathe though out there Enjoying practices you had buffalo in town
- 53:41[SPEAKER_04]: absolutely not.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_04]: We are not miserable.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_04]: We're the ones who turn lemons in the lemon.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_04]: We do that every single season with every single one of our teams.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_04]: No matter what gets thrown at us, we are able to turn it into some sort of a positive, come back the following year.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_04]: Sure, we wallow in the mud.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_04]: But at the end of the day, we are clean ourselves up and we get ourselves started for another brown season.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_04]: Another calves run at the playoffs where we don't make the finals.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_04]: or whatever the guardians are going to throw at us.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_04]: Excitement of coming back from 15 and a half games back, just to lose in the playoffs.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_04]: Whatever the gods have for us, we take it all in spades, we turn those lemons into lemonade.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_04]: So we are not miserable.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_04]: In fact, we have taken things in stride, and we take it better than anybody else in America.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_03]: well said Chris well said there are there are a lot of tortured fan bases out there in sports um Cleveland certainly up there pretty high on that list and you look at the current state of affairs with the calves missing out on the brawn and this new improved eastern conference and you look at the state of the guards and
- 54:45[SPEAKER_03]: boy, we're keeping our fingers in toes crossed.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_03]: They could turn this thing around and we're going to bring on Gap Gaudy in a second to talk about that.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, you look at the state of the Browns with this quarterback position, just internally a question mark and it's like boy, we have it pretty rough, but we show out for these teams.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_03]: We support these teams on like any other fans and sports.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_03]: This is the greatest sports town in America, but man, these teams do give us a pretty miserable existence.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_03]: So for that, I will say guilty.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_02]: knock guilty Cleveland is not the most miserable sports city.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_02]: It is in fact Buffalo.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just think of Nick think of that Hollywood Higgins extending into the end zone against the chiefs.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_02]: Imagine that game, but in the Super Bowl, but four years in a row.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_02]: I can't get over losing four Superballs.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_02]: They don't even have every sports team.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_02]: They've still never won a championship.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's miserable.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_03]: is it worse to get there and have never won it four times in a row or to never have gotten close.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_03]: That was the debate yesterday amongst some of the reporters from the Buffalo and the Queen Luther's War Hardick in getting there, though.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_02]: because we're just, we're ignorantly blessed.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_02]: We have no clue when the F.C.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_02]: came to early.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, orange.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_02]: We don't know what an F.C.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_04]: I was going to say, you know, you're talking to an old head over here.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I said, I've seen the drive.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_04]: I've seen the fumble.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_04]: I have been through it all.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_04]: So we have been at the very top of Cleveland Sports there.
- 56:05[SPEAKER_04]: It's just been so close to that damn Super Bowl and haven't made it and that was really, really rough.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_02]: Guys, we're going to take a break here on Big Click Leave in Life presented by Fandle.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_02]: Don't go anywhere.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be right back with Gav Gaudy talking about the Cleveland Guardians chases to get back into the playoff hunt.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back live too.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_02]: Big Click Leave in presented by Fandle.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_02]: Jack Rork alongside Nick Pidone and Chris Reeflog, Mick Neal.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_02]: Get the legal pad out.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_02]: We got a big weekend, baby, but now we are joined by Gav Gaudy to talk some Cleveland Guardians.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_02]: Gav, how are you doing today?
- 56:36[SPEAKER_02]: So, Gab, are you still on?
- 56:38[SPEAKER_02]: I did notice the last time I happened by your Twitter page.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_02]: So you were not going to tweet until the Guardians won two games in a row.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_02]: Is that still active?
- 56:46[SPEAKER_00]: Have they won two games in a row?
- 56:47[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so I'm glad you're keeping to that.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_02]: But Gab, so the guards take two out of three from the giants.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously that game in the middle.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's tough.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_02]: I was talking to Bailey this morning in the office.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, what are the guardians playoff chances?
- 56:59[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like,
- 57:00[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, it changes every single day.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, okay, you wouldn't game one against the giant.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_02]: And we're all like, yeah, like, twenty or three, we're all against each other.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_02]: Five hundred, we're so back.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_02]: Then you lose one nothing.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_02]: Then you come out and you win again.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think this team ultimately makes the playoffs?
- 57:11[SPEAKER_02]: Or are we just two up and down rollercoastery for this to happen?
- 57:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think the guardians are the best team in the playoff hunt right now.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they're better than the Blue Jays.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_00]: I know the Blue Jays are just in a world series, but I think we're better than them.
- 57:20[SPEAKER_00]: Rotation wise, I think we're better than them.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_00]: Shane B.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_00]: We're how long is he going to keep that up?
- 57:24[SPEAKER_00]: He had a great start yesterday.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't think that's going to keep
- 57:29[SPEAKER_00]: We're better than the Rangers.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_00]: Now, there is a team that I think might be better than us, and I don't love that.
- 57:34[SPEAKER_00]: The Minnesota twins are hitting the ball.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_00]: And we're actually never so.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, that is one issue with our Cleveland Guardian, traditionally, Gab is Cleveland legitimately building toward a run here do you think though, like, as an if they do get in, like do you think it's a team that's building towards okay, hey, we're thinking the A.L.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_02]: so bad.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we're under five hundred, but if we get in, hey, we can get hot and do something here, or do you think it's, uh, yeah, maybe they can eat in and then, yeah, they might spot her out in three games.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_00]: No, I think if they make the playoffs, they have the potential to do that with the pitching if Gavin Williams decides to be Gavin Williams, they can win a game, park or massive.
- 58:06[SPEAKER_00]: They could win a game of Tanner Bobby once the pitch, how he does every other week.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_00]: They could go on a run and do so.
- 58:12[SPEAKER_00]: But again, it's the bat so I hold them back every single time.
- 58:15[SPEAKER_00]: But they could do things with the pitching.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_00]: And if they go seven to eight endings with our starters.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_02]: and Nick Chris, I wanted to get some group thinking here and get your guys thoughts as well on this guard's run.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_02]: What is everyone's number one biggest reason that you still believe in this team at this moment in time?
- 58:31[SPEAKER_04]: You.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_04]: You, that's it, cause you never know.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, the inconsistencies of youth.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_04]: you never know when those guys are going to turn it on right they're going to go through slumps they're also going to come on we talked about Travis Pazana earlier in the show and whether he needs to be playing every day and I can tell that he does because we got to see what these guys can do and if they could turn it on and they have that blissful ignorance of youth and don't realize that they're in the middle of a major league baseball playoff run and they can magically capture
- 59:01[SPEAKER_04]: you know, lightning in a bottle, then all of a sudden they could turn this thing around.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_04]: So the youth is really what gives me any kind of hope for this team to do anything in the postseason.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_04]: Even making it.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_03]: And mine is last year.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_03]: I can't let go of last year's 15 and a half game come back in the American League Central Division because I think this team is better than that team that derives race that 15 and a half game lead.
- 59:26[SPEAKER_03]: It's just that they haven't shown any signs of being better yet.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_03]: I think from it.
- 59:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we could have said which the evidence of that from a sheer talent stand point Chris last year We're being in the table for delatern and Travis Besana to play and now we got him Nathaniel Loan Joe Adele were supposed to be those trade deadline moves that got this thing over the hump and you know They were the compliment pieces to these young hitters the starting rotation
- 59:52[SPEAKER_03]: You know, started the season off really good, post all Star Break has maybe been a little bit shaky, and the bullpen isn't the same.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_03]: As last year, I just think from an offensive standpoint, they haven't gotten the production anywhere close that I thought they were going to get, especially after that hot month of May, and I just can't ignore what they did last year, and I think that this team has the potential to be better than that year's team, it's just that they're not playing like it.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_04]: It's also very frustrating that this team can't seem to win at home.
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_04]: You know, we just won our first home series since the end of June.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_04]: That boggles my mind because typically you win at home, if you're a Cleveland Guardian's team and do what you can on the road, that's really your hallmark.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_04]: And this team, June, I mean, that is a long, that's the whole summer virtually that we're not winning series at home and that is very, very disappointing to me.
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_02]: What's the number one reason you still believe in this team?
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_00]: I have two reasons.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_00]: Our next 20 some games are against teams under 500, so we can accumulate some wins there.
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's not going to seem well at the end of it because we're only beating up on teams that are worse than us.
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_00]: But if we're going to make it come back, we're going to have to do it there.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_00]: Next is Jose Ramirez is not played up to his potential.
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, if he does so, I'll feel a lot more confident about this team.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think the fact that you've never gotten a Jose being anything close to Jose sitting around while like a 730 OPS basically the whole season like you.
- 1:01:15[SPEAKER_02]: You got to hope forever.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:01:17[SPEAKER_02]: So you got to hope that goes up.
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_02]: I think mine, this kind of a cheating answer, but Gab just stole my answers.
- 1:01:21[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of got to, uh,
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_02]: make a move out of the pocket here and think of one quick is just the fact that there's no one else in the american league who's making me not believe in them to this point in time like i think the american league is so wide open where we talked about it like there's a chance you could sneak in it like eighty four wins this year and then like maybe maybe not host a home game i think that's a little bit crazy to think but get a winnable series in that wild card guys the reverse though what is the biggest reason you don't believe in a steam right now
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_03]: everything that they've showed this point.
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, seriously, it's it's been a tough watch.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_03]: Like for those of us that sit down and watch this baseball team, every single night, it's been a frustrating watch because you know the starting pitching is really good, uh, uh
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_03]: Among the absolute best in all of baseball for good about the American League and the wide open American League I'd take this staff over some of the top staffs in baseball period It's just that you don't know what version of this team you're going to get on a nightly basis on the night that they do score runs Well, then the pitching's gonna be a mess on the night that the pitching is really good
- 1:02:27[SPEAKER_03]: They're not even going to score a run.
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_03]: So it's just been a maddening watch all year long and I do think that that roller coaster ride would be my one reason why I could be a little bit squirmish about believing all the way.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's going to be the best, too, obviously.
- 1:02:42[SPEAKER_00]: Like they just went against the 50 some win San Francisco Giants.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_00]: If they went up to the plate with a toothpick in their hand, they still would have lost one nothing.
- 1:02:50[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that that that that that wasn't too great now guys moving into a positive though about this ball clubs You kind of look at the lineup a little bit one guy who I think everyone and their mother and probably their mother's mother It was ready to abandon the season with Stephen quant like I think everyone thought it was basically dead Yeah, I mean like the OPS still isn't like anything special.
- 1:03:08[SPEAKER_02]: He's sitting around 700 But he's one of the hottest hitters in baseball in the second half.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_02]: How much you guys think of quant?
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_02]: Resurgence has help this team stay a float one
- 1:03:18[SPEAKER_02]: And so, not those contract talks kind of come back up again, maybe he's not going to be so cheap to keep.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think that the Guardians do ultimately extend Stephen Kwan?
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_00]: Are they going to extend anyone right now?
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_00]: Is the actual question?
- 1:03:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, probably not.
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, not right now, but I do wonder, I have this idea more so than anything.
- 1:03:36[SPEAKER_03]: And it could be a bad idea, some of mine are, that like if they go through with this lockout, which we all think is gonna happen, and there's a salary floor that's installed.
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_03]: And the Guardians are actually gonna have to spend some money
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_03]: I'm spending some money, not on Gavin Williams, but on some bats.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_03]: And if it's keeping Stephen quannaround, and that goes towards me spending a little bit more money than I'm currently spending.
- 1:04:02[SPEAKER_03]: Sure, I keep Stephen quannaround.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_03]: I throw Joe Adele into that conversation as well, and then you feel pretty good about an outfield of DeLaudar quannar and Adele moving forward.
- 1:04:15[SPEAKER_03]: try to paste even quant obviously we just don't know what's going to happen with baseball.
- 1:04:20[SPEAKER_03]: That's the other shoe that needs to drop there.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_03]: Chris
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, with next year, I mean, all bets are off.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_04]: I considering that we don't know that we're going to be playing baseball.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_04]: And I think most people think that we're probably not going to be playing a full season of baseball next year.
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_04]: So I know ownership is going to be really red isn't to go to the negotiating table with anybody right now.
- 1:04:43[SPEAKER_04]: And Stephen Kwan has given you reason not to base upon his performance earlier in this season, going into
- 1:04:50[SPEAKER_04]: the end of last season, even, you know, that consistency wasn't there.
- 1:04:54[SPEAKER_04]: This team is a completely different team, was Stephen Kwan playing well.
- 1:04:58[SPEAKER_04]: And I like Stephen Kwan a lot.
- 1:05:00[SPEAKER_04]: I like him at the top of the order.
- 1:05:02[SPEAKER_04]: I absolutely love what he can do out in the field.
- 1:05:04[SPEAKER_04]: So I would love if we would renegotiate, we would be able to extend him.
- 1:05:08[SPEAKER_04]: But I don't know that we're not going to be waiting on that one for quite some time right now as everything gets kind of fixed with the labor negotiations that Major League Baseball is dealing with.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_02]: You said something that made my ears perk up a little bit about Steven Kwan and when he's playing good baseball the team just seems to almost follow Super behind him Had we gotten this version of Steven Kwan the whole entire obviously probably not gonna hit 400 like Ted Williams the whole year But had we gotten a consistent Steven Kwan from the jump how much better response do you think this team is in right now?
- 1:05:38[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_04]: If we had any consistency, all throughout this lineup, right?
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_04]: There's nobody who's been consistent in this line of even Brian Rokio was our most consistent player has not been playing well of late.
- 1:05:49[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, if you had that guy at the top of you had Stephen Cuan, how many wins would that mean?
- 1:05:54[SPEAKER_04]: That would probably make up the difference that we're looking at right now in the wild card.
- 1:05:58[SPEAKER_04]: maybe even in the in the division who knows, but I think that is the difference.
- 1:06:02[SPEAKER_04]: That is the margin right now for us.
- 1:06:04[SPEAKER_04]: Now I'm not blaming Stephen Kwan for us not being there.
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_04]: It's a it's a contributing factor of everybody on this team.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_04]: But just even Kwan by himself, if he could set the tone the way he does offensively, that really changes things dramatically for the Cleveland Guardians.
- 1:06:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, what do you think a year full of the, I can even say healthy Stephen Kwan, a good Stephen Kwan would have done for this Guardian steam.
- 1:06:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think they could be a gamer to above where they are right now.
- 1:06:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think the overall big thing for me is there's specifically five games that I can recall that we should have won the Cleveland Guardian should have won due to the lack of middle and field production.
- 1:06:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's one of my biggest issues.
- 1:06:42[SPEAKER_02]: that's actually exactly where we're going next, believe they're not because there's two guys who I think for a large portion of this season, especially as we kind of got into summer, we assumed would be that second base in short stop duo being Travis Pazana and Brian Rokio.
- 1:06:55[SPEAKER_02]: Two guys who like Rokio had a
- 1:06:57[SPEAKER_02]: Rockstar first half.
- 1:06:58[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I think a lot of people in Cleveland want to told you was snubbed from the all star game actually, or at least should have been pretty dang close to making it.
- 1:07:04[SPEAKER_02]: He's had a rough second half Travis Pazana, like if you look at his splits by month, it almost just like month by month just gets worse, worse, worse, worse, worse to the point where now I think he's sitting like 190 in August and does not have a home run yet this month.
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_02]: Who do you guys think ultimately?
- 1:07:18[SPEAKER_02]: Because again, you also have unhello and now factoring it now.
- 1:07:21[SPEAKER_02]: If the playoff started today, who is your second base in shortstop combo?
- 1:07:25[SPEAKER_00]: Mine would be Rokio and Annow.
- 1:07:27[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like they are the best two options out there that are actually going to be able to make plays consistently.
- 1:07:32[SPEAKER_00]: Like there was a play, I think the first game against the Giants.
- 1:07:35[SPEAKER_00]: If Travis Pizon was out there, I don't think they would have gotten out of that ending.
- 1:07:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so serious.
- 1:07:39[SPEAKER_02]: Was it the Rokio?
- 1:07:40[SPEAKER_02]: No, he's not on the right.
- 1:07:42[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't pick that.
- 1:07:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, I think actually it was.
- 1:07:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:07:46[SPEAKER_02]: Nick, where do you sit on that?
- 1:07:47[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, mine is probably similar, and then maybe in that world, you have to de-h, Travis.
- 1:07:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:07:53[SPEAKER_03]: He's not just hope that he could figure it out at the plate because he's been struggling to, I just got a bank on rocktober, really, is that Rokio is going to show up, and now has been one of the best hitters in this anime lineup, so you certainly need him in there.
- 1:08:11[SPEAKER_03]: Even if it feels somewhat similar to last year where it feels like you're
- 1:08:14[SPEAKER_03]: you know, hoping for a lot when they call them chase a lot because they were like, hey, we're in the playoffs now and we need runs and everybody's been telling us this to a lot of guys scores run.
- 1:08:22[SPEAKER_03]: So give it a go.
- 1:08:23[SPEAKER_03]: That's kind of what it's going to feel like with him now, even though you've had a around two months of, you know, time going into the postseason.
- 1:08:29[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, it's unfortunate you're going to have to lean on like a rookie so much, but that's going to be true whether it's now or bizarre in this combination.
- 1:08:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's also just before we get your answer, Chris, like it's so valuable to have Rocchio and Hanna on the line up because if you have Rocchio, Hannao, Bailey behind the plate and Jose, like you're looking at four switch headers and that just allows you to do so much more with, I guess, like how you're extending your line up even in the first place.
- 1:08:53[SPEAKER_02]: But Chris, where do you sit on the middle in field?
- 1:08:57[SPEAKER_02]: The eternal since Francisco Linda or last may I add, it middle in field debate.
- 1:09:02[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I still believe that Bazana is going to be the future for this team, no matter what.
- 1:09:09[SPEAKER_04]: And I really do.
- 1:09:10[SPEAKER_04]: I think that guy, I love his energy, I love what he adds to the line up.
- 1:09:14[SPEAKER_04]: I know he's going to go through his ups and his downs, but I really feel that Bazana is going to be the future of the Cleveland Guardians.
- 1:09:21[SPEAKER_02]: guys moving on over to a guy who had an incredible start yesterday.
- 1:09:24[SPEAKER_02]: Gavin Williams walking away with 11 strikeouts last night.
- 1:09:28[SPEAKER_02]: It seems like he really has, I guess, taken the lead and form himself into the Cleveland Guardians Aces here.
- 1:09:33[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously Parker Massick's had a great year as well, but we all kind of expected when Tanner Biden got handed that big contract.
- 1:09:38[SPEAKER_02]: What was two opening days ago now, maybe that he was going to develop into being that one one guy for the Guardians.
- 1:09:43[SPEAKER_02]: It appears it is Gavin Williams.
- 1:09:44[SPEAKER_02]: Gavin, starting with you,
- 1:09:46[SPEAKER_02]: is it can we officially say it out loud the a word about gambling.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_02]: See the ace of this organization of this organization.
- 1:09:51[SPEAKER_00]: To me, he is.
- 1:09:52[SPEAKER_00]: I know people are going to disagree and say Parker Messick who is also very talented.
- 1:09:56[SPEAKER_00]: He's in the to say young talks.
- 1:09:57[SPEAKER_00]: But I think Gavin Williams stuff overall is just a little bit better.
- 1:10:01[SPEAKER_03]: Wayne Gavin's done it for a little bit longer, too.
- 1:10:04[SPEAKER_03]: If it's like, if I'm going to put that ace term on somebody, especially as we're talking about playoffs and who would you trust out first for a game one or whatever, like I'm going to trust the guy that's been around a little bit longer than Parker Messick, even though I think like in a years time, maybe we have this conversation again and maybe it is Parker Messick is the ace of this staff.
- 1:10:23[SPEAKER_03]: But for right now, I'm going to trust the guy that's been really good for the last couple years and that's Gavin Chris, how about you?
- 1:10:31[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think he's old reliable there for now.
- 1:10:33[SPEAKER_04]: Even though he's a young guy for us, Evan Williams represents really veteran presence.
- 1:10:38[SPEAKER_04]: And at the top of the rotation for us, and I think if you do get into a playoff series with hopefully the Scardians team does, although I have my reservations right now.
- 1:10:47[SPEAKER_04]: That's the guy you're going to want to roll out there.
- 1:10:49[SPEAKER_04]: That's the guy who's going to set the tone for the entire series and the guy who I think that you can count on a lot more than anyone else right now.
- 1:10:57[SPEAKER_04]: Parker Messick has certainly had himself a season.
- 1:10:59[SPEAKER_04]: There is no doubt about it.
- 1:11:01[SPEAKER_04]: This is a young guy on the rise.
- 1:11:02[SPEAKER_04]: But we talk about all the time how young this team is overall.
- 1:11:06[SPEAKER_04]: So you look for those opportunities to have the veterans kind of lead you.
- 1:11:09[SPEAKER_04]: And I think with the pitching staff going into the playoffs should that happen, you're going to want to have that veteran presence at the top.
- 1:11:15[SPEAKER_04]: And that's why you go with Gavin Williams.
- 1:11:16[SPEAKER_02]: Do you guys think that because we've talked about this inconsistent offense at length really for years now at this point with the Cleveland Guardians, do you think that this pitching staff is good enough to go out and steal a three game series in the wild card and maybe even an ALDS just off their loans and I'm saying if the bats just go cold and don't show up at all.
- 1:11:34[SPEAKER_00]: If every pitcher makes it to the seventh inning, I believe that they could do so.
- 1:11:37[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't really want to see that bullpen.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the bullpen is the one weird thing as well.
- 1:11:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I feel like every single year we talk about these guardians and how they're built for the postseason.
- 1:11:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, oh, can we just get these stars to go five?
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_02]: Because then the bullpen's got six, seven, eight, nine locked down.
- 1:11:50[SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't feel that way this year, guys.
- 1:11:51[SPEAKER_00]: But even we have like three endings.
- 1:11:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yesterday, the game was not over until the very last event with Reffield Devours that was terrifying.
- 1:11:58[SPEAKER_00]: So, I don't know.
- 1:12:00[SPEAKER_02]: Nick?
- 1:12:04[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 1:12:04[SPEAKER_03]: You got to score some, right?
- 1:12:06[SPEAKER_03]: Like how many times have we seen this movie?
- 1:12:09[SPEAKER_03]: Like you've got to turn it around a little bit off.
- 1:12:11[SPEAKER_03]: They're literally like that.
- 1:12:12[SPEAKER_03]: I want to say, yeah, because this rotation, especially if it is like a wild card, like best to threg, come on, I do think this rotation is good enough, especially gap to give them that length if they absolutely had to in a playoff start.
- 1:12:27[SPEAKER_03]: It's just like you need some, I watch them get blanked by the San Francisco Giants this week.
- 1:12:32[SPEAKER_03]: like you need some scoring.
- 1:12:35[SPEAKER_02]: Chris, how far can this pitching staff alone take the Cleveland Guardians in the playoffs?
- 1:12:40[SPEAKER_04]: You know, you can win a series.
- 1:12:41[SPEAKER_04]: You can win a series.
- 1:12:42[SPEAKER_04]: You know, anything can happen once you get in.
- 1:12:44[SPEAKER_04]: That's the beautiful part about baseball is once you get into the playoffs, anything can happen.
- 1:12:49[SPEAKER_04]: All the sudden we could go back to guard's ball and being this scrappy team who all of a sudden is able to produce run.
- 1:12:58[SPEAKER_04]: And they shoot themselves in the foot and allow us to get across the plate a couple of times while also blanking themselves when they're on offense.
- 1:13:06[SPEAKER_04]: And you see that happen a lot.
- 1:13:07[SPEAKER_04]: And if you get consistency out of your pitching, that really sets the scene for that to happen.
- 1:13:11[SPEAKER_04]: So I could see our pitching staff, you know, there's nothing better than a pitching staff that sets you up for success.
- 1:13:18[SPEAKER_04]: And I think the guardians have really the foundation of that.
- 1:13:20[SPEAKER_04]: So it's just a matter of catching a little bit of lightning in the bottle if they're able to perform that way.
- 1:13:26[SPEAKER_02]: guys, the last thing with the guardos that we got to talk about today is Ralphie the last cause it's been a terrible leave it is I could be wrong with this thing it's 11 home runs in his last 14 games in AAA correct me on that if I'm wrong someone please in the YouTube live comments make sure to like comment and subscribe as always to be quick Cleveland on YouTube so you never miss a daily episode but guys Ralphie is absolutely crushing it right now in AAA the only issue is he plays mostly first space and he is a left handed header
- 1:13:51[SPEAKER_02]: and you have maybe a lockout coming where you might not want to put him on the 40 man roster so he could be in the building working out with the organization throughout a potential lockout.
- 1:13:59[SPEAKER_02]: Campbell, start with you guys go around the room.
- 1:14:01[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think the guardians ultimately choose up to call up the hotheading lefty?
- 1:14:05[SPEAKER_00]: do I think so?
- 1:14:06[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely not.
- 1:14:07[SPEAKER_00]: Should they, yeah, they should definitely do so, but I don't think that we're going to get our wish with that one.
- 1:14:12[SPEAKER_00]: We've gotten our way a lot this season to be a lot of the college, but I think this is where we're going to draw the line.
- 1:14:16[SPEAKER_03]: So what's the deal, though, Jack, with the lock out in the 40 man, like, like, so if they call him up,
- 1:14:23[SPEAKER_02]: So if he's on the 40 when the season ends, then as soon as the lock out happens, he cannot be with the team at all.
- 1:14:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like not in the team building, they're not going to do anything, they're not going to do it, they're not going to do it, they're not going to do it, they're not going to do it, they're not going to do it, they're not going to do it, they're not going to do it, they're not going to do it, they're going to do it, they're going to do it, they're going to do it, they're going to do it, they're going to do it, they're going to do it, they're going to do it, they're going to do it, they're going to do it, they're going to do it, they're going to do it, they're going to do it, they're going to do it, they're going to do it, they're going to do it, they're going to do it,
- 1:14:51[SPEAKER_04]: No, I don't.
- 1:14:52[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think it's worth it.
- 1:14:53[SPEAKER_04]: I think that they want to keep them on a certain development timeline and that would really interrupt things with the lock out.
- 1:14:58[SPEAKER_04]: So there's no way they do.
- 1:14:59[SPEAKER_03]: They love those timelines too crazy.
- 1:15:03[SPEAKER_03]: Joe, no, come on and he tells us that they've got these plans for these young dudes when they hit triple a Columbus of
- 1:15:11[SPEAKER_03]: what they need to do kind of boxed by box and until they check each and every one of those boxes is painstakingly long as it might feel they're going to keep them down in Columbus and then you add the fact that they might not play baseball on top of that next year Yeah, what if this box is also might just be wait until June twenty twenty seven so you might have to check that box first It's not anything else
- 1:15:34[SPEAKER_02]: I will say the one thing he's playing a lot of left field in Columbus and also like that is a stacked line up where you have Kyle Manzardo and you're trying to get him every day reps and CJ Kthus.
- 1:15:42[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of like first space when we're evolving door going on, but I think it is worth noting at least that Ralphie is getting reps with other spots besides first base.
- 1:15:49[SPEAKER_02]: Guys, final question of the day for you.
- 1:15:51[SPEAKER_02]: If you had to put a zero to 100% chance on the Cleveland Guardians, making the playoffs as of today, August 21st Friday, 1 26 p.m. Cleveland time.
- 1:16:00[SPEAKER_02]: What do we say?
- 1:16:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going 45%.
- 1:16:03[SPEAKER_02]: 40 to 50.
- 1:16:04[SPEAKER_00]: I can't commit to 50.
- 1:16:06[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 1:16:06[SPEAKER_03]: I was gonna go 50.
- 1:16:08[SPEAKER_03]: I was gonna go give me a coin flip and doesn't.
- 1:16:10[SPEAKER_03]: But, and I was gonna say, doesn't that feel good that you feel like you could have a coin flip odds, even though you're below 500.
- 1:16:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that is true.
- 1:16:20[SPEAKER_02]: Being up, being under 500, yes.
- 1:16:21[SPEAKER_02]: I definitely agree with that.
- 1:16:22[SPEAKER_03]: Like, or even a 45% chance being where they are.
- 1:16:25[SPEAKER_03]: Several games below 500.
- 1:16:27[SPEAKER_03]: Like, that's still pretty decent.
- 1:16:29[SPEAKER_03]: Percent it.
- 1:16:30[SPEAKER_03]: Like, that's a pretty favorable percentage.
- 1:16:33[SPEAKER_04]: I'm leaving it up to AI.
- 1:16:35[SPEAKER_04]: AI is thinking right now.
- 1:16:36[SPEAKER_04]: Let's see what AI says because I was going to go in at 55% since you guys are kind of being the pessimist here saying it's less than 50% I thought I'd go a little bit over it.
- 1:16:45[SPEAKER_04]: But let's see what AI says right now doing the full analysis.
- 1:16:49[SPEAKER_04]: They are one game out of the playoff spot, four and a half games behind the white socks, 34 games remaining.
- 1:16:56[SPEAKER_04]: A.I.
- 1:16:56[SPEAKER_04]: gives them a twenty six per year old being optimistic on this show.
- 1:17:02[SPEAKER_04]: In fact, I'm doubly optimistic.
- 1:17:04[SPEAKER_04]: I met 55 percent right now.
- 1:17:07[SPEAKER_04]: AI doesn't give us much of a shot.
- 1:17:09[SPEAKER_04]: One in four right now, according to the big computer in the sky.
- 1:17:13[SPEAKER_02]: The AI is higher on cafe nocturnal, but it is the Cleveland Guardians.
- 1:17:16[SPEAKER_02]: Really.
- 1:17:16[SPEAKER_02]: That's a, that's a, that's a crazy.
- 1:17:18[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't anticipate that.

- 1:18:54[SPEAKER_04]: I think they're poor touches.
- 1:18:56[SPEAKER_04]: No way in hell.
- 1:18:58[SPEAKER_04]: But I do think he has a good day.
- 1:19:00[SPEAKER_04]: I could see two touches out of him.
- 1:19:01[SPEAKER_04]: I'd also he's going to make a mistake.
- 1:19:04[SPEAKER_04]: There's going to be an interception.
- 1:19:06[SPEAKER_04]: I think he's going to be pretty efficient.
- 1:19:07[SPEAKER_04]: I think they're going to want to show
- 1:19:17[SPEAKER_04]: somewhere in there, maybe a few more passes.
- 1:19:18[SPEAKER_04]: So let's go 9 of 15 right now.
- 1:19:21[SPEAKER_04]: Couple of touchdowns in an interception.
- 1:19:25[SPEAKER_03]: I'm out of the prediction market when it comes when it comes to this guy.
- 1:19:28[SPEAKER_03]: I'm pleading the fifth because these fans are way too crazy.
- 1:19:32[SPEAKER_03]: These fans are way too crazy for me and I get yelled at it's on social media.
- 1:19:36[SPEAKER_02]: Over 15.
- 1:19:38[SPEAKER_02]: Over 15.
- 1:19:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'm good.
- 1:19:40[SPEAKER_02]: And Gap, for Fandel, what is your home run pick
- 1:19:44[SPEAKER_00]: My home run pick at the day is, Jose Ramirez finally hitting a home run.
- 1:19:49[SPEAKER_02]: Do we know the data last one?
- 1:19:50[SPEAKER_02]: Do we have that on us?
- 1:19:51[SPEAKER_00]: I can find it out.
- 1:19:54[SPEAKER_03]: What if the Garnier and the Garnier and the Garnier and the Corsfield this week?
- 1:19:57[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yes.
- 1:19:58[SPEAKER_02]: You got to have a couple of whammys, right?
- 1:19:59[SPEAKER_03]: You could really see a path for them to hopefully try to turn around this office.
- 1:20:05[SPEAKER_03]: Will they, to be determined?
- 1:20:07[SPEAKER_03]: But I mean, the altitude and all of the things that they say about Denver, you really hope that's working in their favor.
- 1:20:13[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 1:20:14[SPEAKER_00]: I have the day anybody have a guess before we send this off.
- 1:20:17[SPEAKER_00]: How's our mayor's last?
- 1:20:18[SPEAKER_03]: June 14 a long time.
- 1:20:20[SPEAKER_00]: June 6th.
- 1:20:21[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I was close.
- 1:20:22[SPEAKER_02]: I was a week, week late.
