- 0:04Speaker 2: Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome to Thursday,
- 0:09Speaker 2: October 15th. Look, I know it's not quite Friday yet,
- 0:12Speaker 2: but I've been thinking that there's always a reason for
- 0:17Speaker 2: us to look forward to something when we start a
- 0:19Speaker 2: brand new day. We spend so much of the week
- 0:21Speaker 2: waiting for the weekend, but here we are now. getting
- 0:24Speaker 2: this thursday morning started we have today and tomorrow to
- 0:28Speaker 2: go before we get there and we will so why
- 0:30Speaker 2: are you feeling good this morning 866-927-4361 call us at
- 0:35Speaker 2: 97.1 wash fm and tell us because your joy is
- 0:38Speaker 2: contagious chili why are you feeling.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Good today well you know you and i have a
- 0:44Speaker 3: station event later this evening And it's with clients and
- 0:48Speaker 3: it's at Nationals Park. And I'm feeling good because we
- 0:50Speaker 3: get to have a unique experience. We get to go
- 0:53Speaker 3: out on the field and have a little batting practice.
- 0:56Speaker 3: I mean, the season's over, but it will be kind
- 0:59Speaker 3: of cool to be standing on the field where the
- 1:01Speaker 3: players stand all the time. Hit some balls.
- 1:04Speaker 2: That's right. Just like the Savannah Bananas did the other night. Yeah.
- 1:08Speaker 2: All over that ballpark.
- 1:09Speaker 3: And the Jonas Brothers were there. John Cena was there.
- 1:12Speaker 4: Boy, man.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Andy Grammer was there.
- 1:13Speaker 3: So we're going to be walking on the same field
- 1:16Speaker 3: as all those folks.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Makes you feel very, very famous for a few moments.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I wouldn't say I feel famous. I would just say
- 1:23Speaker 3: it's a cool experience.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Get up in there. I want to see you with
- 1:25Speaker 2: that bat swinging.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I bet you that if I were to get up
- 1:29Speaker 2: there with my gimpy knee right now, that probably would
- 1:33Speaker 2: Not be able to connect the way I used to,
- 1:35Speaker 2: but boy, it would be fun.
- 1:36Speaker 3: They're going to have food and beverage as well. So
- 1:38Speaker 3: you don't have to participate in all the activities.
- 1:41Speaker 2: But you know, you got to do some cardio to
- 1:43Speaker 2: get rid of that food and that beverage. Swing that bat.
- 1:46Speaker 2: I know I'd be striking out. It's probably some sort
- 1:48Speaker 2: of pitching machine. Well, you know what? That is a
- 1:51Speaker 2: reason to feel good. And you know what? As such,
- 1:54Speaker 2: I've planned appropriately. And I have a guy, my guy
- 1:57Speaker 2: who gives me a ride from to and fro. Being
- 2:00Speaker 2: that it's a school night, I really don't want to
- 2:01Speaker 2: stress myself, especially if I'm tired afterwards. I'll fall asleep
- 2:05Speaker 2: in the back of the vehicle, get up, go in.
- 2:07Speaker 2: So I've already lined that up, and that's something I
- 2:10Speaker 2: don't usually do because I'm like, hurry up and wait, procrastinate,
- 2:14Speaker 2: and then, okay, last minute. So why are you feeling
- 2:17Speaker 2: good this morning? What have you taken care of in
- 2:20Speaker 2: advance of the weekend or advance of this new day?
- 2:23Speaker 2: Maybe you got all the lunches made for the kids
- 2:26Speaker 2: this morning before they head out the door. That's a
- 2:29Speaker 2: little win. Focus on those today. It's 97.1 Wash FM.
- 2:34Speaker 2: You know where to find us. In the meantime, the news,
- 2:35Speaker 2: top stories, top of the hour. What's up?
- 2:37Speaker 3: Talking about money is very awkward for a lot of people.
- 2:41Speaker 3: So I'm going to break down the findings of a
- 2:43Speaker 3: recent survey coming up in just a few.
- 2:48Speaker 5: Top stories, top of the hour.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Pope Leo is recovering normally after surgery to remove the
- 2:54Speaker 3: lower lobe of his right lung. Vatican officials say his
- 2:57Speaker 3: blood tests and chest x-ray look as expected and he's
- 3:00Speaker 3: eating and walking again. Anthropic is adding U.S. voting information
- 3:05Speaker 3: to its Claude AI chatbot just ahead of the midterm elections.
- 3:10Speaker 3: The update will include election results and voter information with
- 3:13Speaker 3: the goal of helping users get accurate information and also
- 3:16Speaker 3: preventing election-related abuse. Prince George's County police are investigating after
- 3:21Speaker 3: a woman was found dead inside a vehicle in a
- 3:24Speaker 3: parking lot on University Boulevard yesterday. Police do not suspect
- 3:29Speaker 3: foul play. A 58-year-old Manassas man has been charged with
- 3:33Speaker 3: sexual battery and abduction after police say he assaulted a
- 3:36Speaker 3: woman at a 7-Eleven on Dumfries Road. Jose Medina was
- 3:40Speaker 3: arrested Tuesday and is being held without bond. National Guard
- 3:45Speaker 3: troops have been seen near ballot drop boxes in D.C.
- 3:49Speaker 3: and the city council says that's not acceptable because their
- 3:53Speaker 3: presence could amount to voter intimidation. Now, the Guards Task
- 3:57Speaker 3: Force says that troops are not supposed to monitor polling locations.
- 4:01Speaker 3: And a new survey finds that 30% of adults feel
- 4:04Speaker 3: very uncomfortable talking about money, and that jumps to 37%
- 4:09Speaker 3: among people between 18 and 34. Now, nearly a third
- 4:13Speaker 3: of younger adults say they would rather talk about politics, religion,
- 4:18Speaker 3: or even family drama than money. Forecast for today, we'll
- 4:22Speaker 3: have cloudy skies with scattered showers throughout the day. Highs
- 4:25Speaker 3: around 65. Right now, 66 in Riverdale.
- 4:29Speaker 2: With Toby and Tilly in the morning, top stories at
- 4:31Speaker 2: the top of the hour. Your next news right around
- 4:33Speaker 2: 610 this morning. In the meantime, stay there because you
- 4:37Speaker 2: might need a little rhetorical espresso to add to your
- 4:40Speaker 2: morning routine. And if that is the case, then maybe
- 4:44Speaker 2: we can help you out with that. Your morning mindset
- 4:47Speaker 2: is on the way. Some words that we hope will
- 4:50Speaker 2: inspire your morning, maybe your day, or they could turn
- 4:54Speaker 2: around your week. Toby and Chili in the morning at 866-927-4361.
- 5:01Speaker 2: TalkBack microphones wide open too if you're listening on your
- 5:03Speaker 2: iHeart app. Don't be afraid to use it if anything
- 5:05Speaker 2: pops into your head and you feel like you want
- 5:07Speaker 2: to convey it to us. Right now though, it is
- 5:10Speaker 2: time for us to turn our focus solely on you
- 5:13Speaker 2: and how you're doing with your morning mindset.
- 5:15Speaker 3: This is where we find a quote and share it
- 5:17Speaker 3: with you because sometimes you need a little motivation or inspiration.
- 5:21Speaker 3: A quote to think about as you take on a
- 5:23Speaker 3: challenging day.
- 5:24Speaker 2: For instance, from Shonda Rhimes this morning, dreams are lovely,
- 5:27Speaker 2: she says, but they're just dreams. It's the hard work
- 5:31Speaker 2: that makes things happen. Dreams are lovely, but they are
- 5:36Speaker 2: just dreams. It's hard work that makes things happen. See,
- 5:41Speaker 2: dreaming about something, nobody's going to tell you it doesn't
- 5:44Speaker 2: feel good. It does. Talking about those dreams and things,
- 5:48Speaker 2: talking about it, that feels good, too. But neither one
- 5:51Speaker 2: actually gets any dreams accomplished. You know, all it does
- 5:55Speaker 2: is just satisfy some need for you to just talk
- 6:00Speaker 2: about dreams. So let's take it to the next step. Today,
- 6:05Speaker 2: think about what your one little thing is that you
- 6:08Speaker 2: can do that moves your dream out of your head
- 6:10Speaker 2: and into reality. That's what we all need to do today.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Shonda Rhimes, dreams are lovely, but they're just dreams. Hard work.
- 6:20Speaker 2: It's hard work that makes it happen. Keep that in
- 6:22Speaker 2: mind as you tackle Thursday. We're Toby and Chili in
- 6:25Speaker 2: the morning. It's 97.1 Wash FM. Read more. Find us,
- 6:30Speaker 2: Toby and Chili page at washfm.com, especially if you feel
- 6:33Speaker 2: like you need to hear it again. All right. In
- 6:35Speaker 2: the meantime, don't go too far.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Well, we're going to talk about what you consider to
- 6:39Speaker 3: be rude. Apparently, it really depends on On what generation
- 6:44Speaker 3: you are.
- 6:45Speaker 2: For some reason, as we prepare to talk about this,
- 6:47Speaker 2: I hear Stephanie Tanner from Full House saying how rude.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Toby and Chili in the morning, 97.1 Wash FM. But
- 6:55Speaker 2: what is rude really when you break it down? There's
- 6:59Speaker 2: a new look at something called generational etiquette.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Let's break it down for you here at 97.1 Wash
- 7:06Speaker 2: FM with Toby and Chili in the morning.
- 7:07Speaker 3: So for Gen Z, for example, the ultimate offense is
- 7:11Speaker 3: being fake, crossing personal boundaries, or even calling without texting first.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Then millennials think it's very disrespectful if you try to
- 7:20Speaker 3: reach them during off hours, like during work off hours,
- 7:24Speaker 3: like if the work or employers try to reach them.
- 7:26Speaker 3: And we've talked about this before, where millennials have certainly
- 7:29Speaker 3: set boundaries when it comes to Work-life balance. Then you
- 7:32Speaker 3: and I are Generation X. And we value efficiency and directness.
- 7:37Speaker 3: So any unnecessary meeting.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Yeah, shout, preach it from the mountaintop, sister.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Overexplaining or any emotional oversharing, TMI, can feel rude to
- 7:48Speaker 3: us in our generation.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Right, and what about our parents, the boomers?
- 7:52Speaker 3: Where they're more likely to view skipping traditional niceties like handshakes,
- 7:56Speaker 3: phone calls, or formal introductions as disrespectful. So they're very
- 8:00Speaker 3: old school when it comes to those traditions, you know?
- 8:02Speaker 2: That's a lot of different rule books for a lot
- 8:04Speaker 2: of different people in a lot of different generations. How
- 8:06Speaker 2: do you keep it all straight without offending somebody of
- 8:09Speaker 2: a different generation, you know?
- 8:11Speaker 5: Know your audience, maybe?
- 8:13Speaker 3: So if I'm interacting with a boomer and I know
- 8:15Speaker 3: that they consider it disrespectful if I don't shake their hand,
- 8:18Speaker 3: I'm going to shake their hand.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Right on.
- 8:19Speaker 3: That's how I would approach it.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Here's a formal introduction, boomer.
- 8:23Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 8:23Speaker 2: My parents named me Toby. That's all I have to
- 8:25Speaker 2: say about my formal introduction. But, you know, I get it.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Even if I raise my son the way I was raised,
- 8:32Speaker 3: he's still going to adapt to his own generation. So
- 8:35Speaker 3: there's only so much you can do as a parent
- 8:36Speaker 3: to pass on certain behaviors and niceties.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Well, it's all very fascinating stuff. So think about your
- 8:44Speaker 2: generation and then direct your attention to the Toby and
- 8:47Speaker 2: Chili page at washfm.com to read even more about this.
- 8:50Speaker 2: It's good stuff.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Coming up next, we're going to take a look at
- 8:52Speaker 3: all the news in Toby and Chili's top stories. And
- 8:55Speaker 3: it looks like Social Security benefits are going to be
- 8:57Speaker 3: going up in January. And I'll tell you how much
- 9:00Speaker 3: more you can expect.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Got the news coming up right around 610. And then afterwards,
- 9:06Speaker 2: once you've got your dose, Toby, to the top stories
- 9:09Speaker 2: at the top of the hour, stay with 97.1 Watch FM.
- 9:12Speaker 2: We have an experience for you.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Call or attend. We'll get tickets to go see Journey
- 9:17Speaker 3: at CFG Bank Arena October 24th. Thanks to our friends
- 9:20Speaker 3: at AEG.

- 9:25Speaker 2: don't want to miss your chance to see Journey.
- 9:27Speaker 5: 97.1 WASH-FM, Washington.
- 9:31Speaker 1: An iHeartRadio station. Coming up on Top Stories, top of
- 9:35Speaker 1: the hour.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Pope Leo is making steady progress following lung surgery. We've
- 9:40Speaker 3: got the latest on that story and others on the
- 9:42Speaker 3: way with Toby and Chili in the morning on 97.1
- 9:47Speaker 3: Wash FM.
- 9:50Speaker 5: Top Stories, top of the hour.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Pope Leo is making steady progress after his lung surgery.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Doctors say his test results are very encouraging and that
- 9:59Speaker 3: the 71-year-old pontiff has resumed eating normally and walking. Social
- 10:04Speaker 3: security benefits are going to be going up 3.6% in January.
- 10:08Speaker 3: That is the largest increase in three years. The Social
- 10:12Speaker 3: Security Administration says that's an average of.
- 10:14Speaker 2: $ 75 more per month.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Giant Food and Food Lion are dealing with a cybersecurity
- 10:20Speaker 3: issue that knocked out some websites and apps offline. Both
- 10:24Speaker 3: chains are open and customers can still order delivery through
- 10:28Speaker 3: services like Instacart and DoorDash. Fairfax County says an AI
- 10:33Speaker 3: tool is cutting paperwork for social workers by about half,
- 10:37Speaker 3: which really helps staff take case notes so that they
- 10:40Speaker 3: can focus more on families. However, families still need to
- 10:43Speaker 3: consent before a meeting is recorded. Crime seems to be
- 10:47Speaker 3: down in D.C. this year, including a 28% drop in homicides. However,
- 10:54Speaker 3: juvenile arrests topped 1,000 in just the first half of 2026.
- 11:00Speaker 3: That is up more than 10% from last year. Arlington
- 11:04Speaker 3: County has added 10 speed cameras near schools, which is
- 11:08Speaker 3: a 40% increase. And after a grace period, the cameras
- 11:12Speaker 3: will issue $ 100. A new global survey finds that two-thirds
- 11:17Speaker 3: of people are very comfortable using AI in their personal
- 11:21Speaker 3: and professional lives. Now, they're most open to using it
- 11:24Speaker 3: for learning, DIY projects, and creative tasks. But only 31%
- 11:30Speaker 3: actually trust AI to make decisions for them, like scheduling
- 11:33Speaker 3: appointments or choosing products. Forecast today, cloudy skies with scattered showers.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Highs around 65. Right now it's 65 in Gainesville.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Don't forget, you get the news with Toby and Chili
- 11:45Speaker 2: in the morning. Top stories at the top of the hour.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Your next news right around 7-10 right now. Journey, you
- 11:51Speaker 2: want to go? 866-927-4361. Thanks to AEG, we'll get you

- 12:00Speaker 2: you want the tickets, you know what to do right now.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Be caller 10. 866-927-4361. And these tickets, well, they could
- 12:08Speaker 2: be yours. Next, we tell you in the morning here
- 12:11Speaker 2: at 97.1 Wash FM, we have someone hanging on the
- 12:14Speaker 2: line who just found out some shocking information about a
- 12:20Speaker 2: relationship she's in. She has a very specific question she
- 12:25Speaker 2: wants to hit us with, and she will in minutes.
- 12:29Speaker 2: You can help us out, so don't go too far.
- 12:32Speaker 2: It's 97.1 Wash FM. until being chilly in the morning
- 12:35Speaker 2: at 97.1 wash fm we all need a little extra
- 12:39Speaker 2: help sometimes to get through whatever life throws our way
- 12:42Speaker 2: and that's where we come in if you call us
- 12:46Speaker 2: at 866-927-4361 or if you want you can leave us
- 12:49Speaker 2: a quick voice note with the talkback microphone on your
- 12:53Speaker 2: iheart app she's got a problem she's hanging on the
- 12:55Speaker 2: line hi there what is your name in brambleton this morning.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Good morning this is So you've got a little relationship drama, huh?
- 13:04Speaker 3: Oh no, what?
- 13:05Speaker 7: Oh no, were things okay between you two before?
- 13:17Speaker 3: Before you found out?
- 13:18Speaker 1: Things were going great, but I always had this gut
- 13:22Speaker 1: feeling and it really kept bothering me.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Like, why is this going this way or going that way?
- 13:27Speaker 1: And I checked it out and he's married.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Well, all righty then.
- 13:33Speaker 3: So how can we help you?
- 13:35Speaker 1: So now I'm going through this moral dilemma because should
- 13:39Speaker 1: I tell his wife anything?
- 13:40Speaker 2: Well, that's a good question. Not that you asked me
- 13:42Speaker 2: for my thoughts, but I will tell you that I
- 13:44Speaker 2: believe that you need to weigh whether or not it's
- 13:47Speaker 2: worth it for you to tell his wife and interject
- 13:50Speaker 2: yourself into what could become even more drama. If that
- 13:53Speaker 2: answer is yes, I feel like I should tell his wife,
- 13:56Speaker 2: then buckle up because it's about to get bumpy. If not,
- 14:00Speaker 2: you know, you just lead yourself to wondering what if,
- 14:03Speaker 2: but it might be the safer alternative. I don't know.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Chilly thoughts.
- 14:06Speaker 3: I always put myself in the other person's shoes. And
- 14:09Speaker 3: if I were the wife, I would want to know.
- 14:12Speaker 3: And I guess I would reach out to the wife
- 14:15Speaker 3: kind of like, look, I had no idea. I feel
- 14:18Speaker 3: horrible about this. I just want you to know your
- 14:21Speaker 3: husband is stepping out. You do with that information whatever
- 14:23Speaker 3: you want and just remove yourself at that point. What
- 14:26Speaker 3: does the audience think I should do?
- 14:28Speaker 2: Well, Sarah, that's another good question. Let's put it to
- 14:30Speaker 2: the class. 866-927-4361. What should Sarah do? Should she tell
- 14:38Speaker 2: the dude's wife? Should she leave well enough alone, knowing
- 14:41Speaker 2: the damage has already been done? What say you? What
- 14:46Speaker 2: I say, Sarah, is hang out. We'll talk with the class,
- 14:48Speaker 2: and we'll listen to what they have to say together
- 14:51Speaker 2: coming up, all right?
- 14:51Speaker 3: Okay, thank you.
- 14:53Speaker 2: She is the other woman. Should she tell this dude's
- 14:58Speaker 2: wife yes or no? 866-927-4361 to get us here. Toby
- 15:03Speaker 2: and Chili in the morning at 97.1 Wash FM. Sarah
- 15:06Speaker 2: in Brambleton is hanging on the line right now.
- 15:08Speaker 3: Yeah, and she's listening to your advice. Now, she had
- 15:11Speaker 3: no idea that she was the other woman and she
- 15:13Speaker 3: feels horrible about it. And that's why she doesn't know
- 15:16Speaker 3: what to do with this information.
- 15:18Speaker 2: In Potomac, good morning, Mike. Should she tell the wife
- 15:22Speaker 2: or should she just keep it to herself?
- 15:27Speaker 7: I'm leaning towards no because that's a whole lot of
- 15:30Speaker 7: drama for you that you don't need. What this guy
- 15:32Speaker 7: did is on him to fess up to her. And
- 15:35Speaker 7: now that you know that, you can choose for yourself
- 15:38Speaker 7: to let this guy go because he ain't no good anyway.
- 15:40Speaker 7: I mean, if he's lying to you and lying to her,
- 15:42Speaker 7: find somebody else.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Facts.
- 15:45Speaker 3: I agree that Sarah needs to find somebody else, but
- 15:47Speaker 3: I also feel like she owes the wife the truth
- 15:50Speaker 3: so that she knows that she's married to a cheat.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Why start a Jerry Springer fight? Like, no, get out.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Well, he should have thought of that before he started
- 15:58Speaker 3: cheating on his wife.
- 15:59Speaker 2: So go ahead. Tell the wife. Jerry, Jerry.
- 16:02Speaker 7: Yes.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Regardless, there's going to be a lot of drama going on.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Thank you, sir. No problem. Thank you. And in front, Royal.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Good morning, Kylie. What should Sarah do?
- 16:13Speaker 4: If she feels very betrayed and she truly didn't know
- 16:16Speaker 4: and she feels awful, maybe she does like a secret,
- 16:20Speaker 4: sends the wife a message and then afterwards just blocks her.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Okay, so that's interesting. You're saying tell the wife, but
- 16:28Speaker 3: do it anonymously.
- 16:29Speaker 4: That's a possibility if she really wants the wife to know.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Hi, your husband's cheating on you. Okay, I'm done what
- 16:36Speaker 2: you do with that information is all on you.
- 16:39Speaker 4: No, but I mean, that's a scary situation because you
- 16:42Speaker 4: don't want to get like involved in more drama. It
- 16:45Speaker 4: already seems like a traumatic situation anyway.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Well, that certainly is an option, Kylie. Thank you so much.
- 16:51Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Let's go back to Sarah.
- 16:54Speaker 3: OK, let's go. You've been listening to all the feedback.
- 16:57Speaker 3: What do you think you're going to do? Wow.
- 16:59Speaker 6: OK.
- 16:59Speaker 1: I mean, I didn't even think of kind of a flyby,
- 17:03Speaker 1: so at least she has an idea.

- 22:25Speaker 1: Thank you.

- 22:46Speaker 2: at the top of the hour around 7 10 and
- 22:48Speaker 2: stay right there.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Because next we're going to talk about this woman who
- 22:52Speaker 3: caused thousands of dollars in damage in her desperate attempt
- 22:56Speaker 3: to charge her phone You.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Ever have one of those moments where your phone just dies,
- 23:01Speaker 2: you know, the battery's gone, kicked, and there's nothing you
- 23:05Speaker 2: can do about it? Let's talk about it right now
- 23:07Speaker 2: at 866-927-4361. This comes up because in South Korea.
- 23:12Speaker 3: This woman was so desperate to charge her dead phone
- 23:16Speaker 3: that she decided to unplug a freezer at an unattended
- 23:20Speaker 3: ice cream shop to charge it. And then she forgot
- 23:23Speaker 3: to plug the freezer back in. So that freezer full
- 23:26Speaker 3: of desserts completely melted and the owner had to throw
- 23:30Speaker 3: it away. Security cameras, of course, caught this whole thing.
- 23:33Speaker 3: And the owner posted it online like, who are you?
- 23:36Speaker 3: Why did you do this?
- 23:37Speaker 2: Well, I mean, some people get pretty desperate when they
- 23:39Speaker 2: don't have their phone. It's called addiction. Perhaps you should
- 23:42Speaker 2: consider a 12 step program of some sort.
- 23:44Speaker 3: I do have one big paranoia, and that is that
- 23:46Speaker 3: my phone will die while I need it in an
- 23:48Speaker 3: emergency situation. So, I'm always charging it while I'm driving,
- 23:54Speaker 3: and I'm always getting it to a full point if
- 23:57Speaker 3: I'm going to be without a charger for several hours. So,
- 23:59Speaker 3: I've never experienced it dying at a bad time.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Oh, you've never been at 35,000 feet and had your
- 24:04Speaker 2: phone just die while you're trying to watch something you
- 24:07Speaker 2: downloaded prior to the flight?
- 24:09Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 24:09Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 24:10Speaker 2: And then there's no charging it because you didn't bring
- 24:13Speaker 2: any batteries along with you. They're all parked in your
- 24:16Speaker 2: carry-on bag or something.
- 24:17Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 24:17Speaker 2: To where they're out of reach. Yeah, I've been there.
- 24:21Speaker 2: I've done that. It's not okay. It's certainly not okay
- 24:24Speaker 2: on a flight to California. It's even worse on a
- 24:27Speaker 2: flight to Hawaii. We'll just leave well enough alone. But
- 24:32Speaker 2: needless to say, I pack multiple chargers now.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Well, that's what I was going to get to is
- 24:37Speaker 3: you only make that kind of mistake once. You're only
- 24:40Speaker 3: in a situation like that one time before you start
- 24:42Speaker 3: to have a plan B, C, and D so that
- 24:45Speaker 3: it doesn't happen to you again.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Yes, because there's only so much you can read out
- 24:49Speaker 2: of the magazine in the seat back pocket that will
- 24:52Speaker 2: occupy your mind while you're flying.
- 24:55Speaker 3: And I can't sleep on flight, so I would have
- 24:57Speaker 3: been really, really bored.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Oh, it was completely boring and bad.
- 25:01Speaker 5: 97.
- 25:02Speaker 2: 866-927-4361. Got a moment your phone died? It was the
- 25:08Speaker 2: worst moment ever. What happened to you? Tell us everything.

- 25:20Speaker 3: Looks like more and more people are finding their people online.
- 25:24Speaker 3: But do those friendships really mean as much as the
- 25:27Speaker 3: ones we make in person? I'm going to share the
- 25:29Speaker 3: findings of a recent survey.
- 25:31Speaker 2: So you tapped into your holiday savings for something unexpected

- 26:40Speaker 3: soon end its horse-drawn carriage industry. The city council is
- 26:44Speaker 3: expected to vote on the ban on October 22nd. Supporters

- 26:56Speaker 3: federal appeals court is weighing whether the president can continue
- 27:00Speaker 3: deploying National Guard troops in D.C. The Justice Department argues

- 27:07Speaker 3: power is limited to emergencies or widespread violence. Fairfax County
- 27:12Speaker 3: is seeing record ridership for Capital Bike Share. More than
- 27:17Speaker 3: 6,500 trips were taken in August, setting an all-time monthly record,
- 27:23Speaker 3: and September also set a record following the addition of
- 27:27Speaker 3: 27 new stations. Major ticket resellers are suing D.C. to
- 27:33Speaker 3: block a new law that regulates ticket sales. The Resale
- 27:36Speaker 3: Act would cap resale prices, ban speculative listings, and and
- 27:41Speaker 3: require upfront disclosure of fees. Companies, including SeatGeek and Vivid Seats,
- 27:46Speaker 3: say that the law could force them out of the D.C.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Market.
- 27:50Speaker 3: And a new survey finds that nearly 40% of American
- 27:53Speaker 3: adults belong to an online community, with that number rising
- 27:57Speaker 3: to about half among young adults. People join mostly for information, fun,
- 28:03Speaker 3: and advice. But only 34% believe that online relationships and
- 28:07Speaker 3: friendships can be as meaningful as as the ones in person.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Forecast for today, cloudy with some scattered showers, highs around 65.

- 28:41Speaker 2: miss as a result of it? We're talking. Not even
- 28:45Speaker 2: having in-flight entertainment systems in the back of the seat
- 28:49Speaker 2: in front of me could cause me to be less

- 28:55Speaker 2: So we in Chile in the morning, it's 97.1 Wash FM.
- 28:58Speaker 2: And for this woman in South Korea.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Yeah, she was in a store. Her phone died. So
- 29:02Speaker 3: she took it upon herself to unplug a freezer full
- 29:05Speaker 3: of ice cream to charge her phone and then forgot
