- 0:05Welcome to the Hypnotist. The show.
- 0:08That gives you inside access to cutting edge hypnosis with real
- 0:11clients facing genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by the hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, Adam here. And you're about to listen to a
- 0:43hypnosis session that was created for someone very
- 0:47successful in their career in their industry.
- 0:51And they wanted to activate another level.
- 0:55And they'd recently been travelling and used a rental car
- 0:58that had a manual gear system. They were used to driving
- 1:03automatic. And what they liked is this idea
- 1:07that they had more capacity than they were tapping into.
- 1:12So this idea of using a mechanical metaphor of
- 1:15harnessing 6th gear was very useful for them because they'd
- 1:19had that recent experience of using a stick shift car.
- 1:24But also there's certain elements of different gears
- 1:27being useful for different terrains.
- 1:29Like you wouldn't be in 5th or 6th gear, for example, if you're
- 1:33going up a high gradient like a hill, you'd be in a lower gear
- 1:38because you need more traction. So in this hypnosis session, it
- 1:41uses the elements of gears to represent different areas of
- 1:46their life and also to highlight that sometimes it's good to have
- 1:50that downtime. So this is kind of like a work
- 1:53life balance hypnosis session, but also a product productivity
- 1:57and focus session as well. Tapping into more resources and
- 2:01using this idea of the higher self to represent the all
- 2:06knowing part or the sum of all the parts of the subconscious
- 2:10mind. Some people call that intuition
- 2:13or this kind of gut feel. Now the higher self you can look
- 2:18at as accessing all of the information and then intuitively
- 2:22knowing how to harness the right resources in the right context.
- 2:27And I've I've seen people that when they need to be focused,
- 2:31actually can't, can't quite tap into that focus.
- 2:35And other times people might be relaxing on a beach, except
- 2:38they're not relaxing on a beach. Their brain is going in
- 2:401,000,000 miles an hour thinking of all the problems they have to
- 2:43deal in their workplace. And neither is.
- 2:46Optimal. It's good.
- 2:47To be in the right state for the right context that you're in.
- 2:52So there's elements of that and there's elements of harnessing
- 2:55more of that intuitive power that exists.
- 2:59So if you've always thought like you've got more left in the tank
- 3:03or more capacity, I think you'll benefit from this session.
- 3:06It's always good to link it to an intention.
- 3:09So this is me priming you before you even listen to the session.
- 3:13But what would 6th gear or 10 or 20% more productivity or focus
- 3:19actually mean to you? What would you do that if you
- 3:22you've had that? And then there's a good way for
- 3:24you to test improvements because if you have more capacity, but
- 3:28you don't do anything with it or don't know that you have that
- 3:31capacity, but then what's the point in having that?
- 3:34And a good analogy to explore that thought further is the idea
- 3:39that a modern day smartphone has more processing power than the
- 3:44original computers that took the Apollo missions up to the moon.
- 3:49So here's what's interesting. With that less computing power,
- 3:53they were able to achieve something incredible.
- 3:56And the average person with their smartphone is watching cat
- 3:59videos and and things like that. So not really utilizing the full
- 4:04power of that processing power. So set an intention, something
- 4:08that you would do if you had more cognitive power or more
- 4:13focus or more work ethic will enable you to get more from this
- 4:17session. And if you do like these
- 4:19sessions but you don't like me rambling on at the beginning,
- 4:23then in the description there is a link to 22 free hypnosis
- 4:27downloads that doesn't have the intro or the outro or my
- 4:31explanation, it just has the hypnosis session.
- 4:34So if you want more of just the hypnosis, click the link in the
- 4:37description and get 22 of those hypnosis sessions completely
- 4:41free and they have a retail value of about 220 lbs or 270
- 4:47U.S. dollars. That's what I sell them for in
- 4:50my Shopify store. And they're completely.
- 4:51Free, just go to that link in the description.
- 4:54For now though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 4:57won't be disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 5:26Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 5:34resourceful feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 5:38And as you exhale, that's it. Release all the tension around
- 5:43your eyelids and just feel a sense of release as you exhale.
- 5:49That's it. Breathing in relaxation and
- 5:57exhaling tension, each breath taking you deeper and deeper.
- 6:07Relaxed dance it feel the shift taking you there, and the deeper
- 6:15you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 6:23The more relaxed you become, the deeper you breathe.
- 6:27And as your body relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 6:35And I wonder if you can use the power of your imagination to
- 6:42imagine flying in the sky like a bird over rugged terrain.
- 6:53Imagine flying over glaciers, Rocky Mountains.
- 7:01Perhaps you could imagine Hot Springs beneath you.
- 7:07But imagine gliding to an impressive waterfall.
- 7:14A spectacular waterfall. The kind of waterfall that looks
- 7:25that it was built for the gods. Epic, spectacular.
- 7:34That's it. And imagine just gliding down to
- 7:42the ground. Perhaps rocks or grass.
- 7:48Perhaps you can imagine blue skies, the breeze.
- 7:58And I wonder if you could imagine seeing not just any
- 8:03waterfall, but the Icelandic Gulfos waterfall, the height,
- 8:13that endless powerful cascade. And maybe you could imagine
- 8:23feeling the mist on your skin, cool and refreshing.
- 8:29Or maybe it's the sound. Imagine hearing the roaring
- 8:36Thunder of all of that falling water.
- 8:45And if you play close attention, maybe you can notice a rhythm
- 8:53like a heartbeat or an engine idling in perfect tune.
- 9:04Allow your breathing in and breathing out to match that
- 9:07rhythm. Perhaps your heart matches that
- 9:12rhythm with every inhale. Imagine breathing in air that
- 9:19feels crisp and refreshing, and with every exhale feel like a
- 9:29block is being unblocked. Tension, stress and worries
- 9:34being released. Allow yourself to feel that
- 9:39tension, that pressure, that noise being released from you,
- 9:46like the water releasing, coming, tumbling down from the
- 9:53waterfall. Feel it leaving your body and
- 10:02you don't need to force it, in the same way that the waterfall
- 10:08doesn't need to force the water to fall, it just facilitates in
- 10:17the waterfalls. Not because it's being forced,
- 10:22it's just being channelled that way.
- 10:29So just as the waterfall allows the water to fall, your
- 10:35awareness begins to flow downward, down through the
- 10:41layers of relaxation, down past the surface thoughts, past the
- 10:49noise of the everyday world, and even past the demands.
- 10:57Feel your attention falling downwards into a deep calm space
- 11:05within. So far down, it feels like we've
- 11:13gone through a portal to a different dimension.
- 11:17And in that dimension, I want you to imagine a car.
- 11:25Not just any car. I want you to imagine the most
- 11:32powerful or desirable manual car that you can imagine.
- 11:41And maybe it's a classic sports car, a Ferrari, a Lamborghini,
- 11:50maybe it's a racing car. Allow your imagination to choose
- 11:54the car. But it is two things, powerful
- 12:02and manual. You can see that stick shift
- 12:09right there in the gearbox. And imagine climbing into that
- 12:16car, perhaps with luxurious leather seats, an incredible
- 12:25dashboard showing you the raw power of this car.
- 12:33And I want you to imagine feeling the clutch when you push
- 12:39down on the clutch, feel the resistance of each gear as you
- 12:42shift until it becomes intuitive.
- 12:47You just know where each gear is.
- 12:54And imagine driving that car slowly at first.
- 13:04You can imagine hills and straight roads, even a racing
- 13:10track if you like. Allow your mind to become the
- 13:16terrain for this car. And each gear represents a
- 13:25different state, of course. When it's in neutral, when
- 13:34you're not moving, car has all of the energy, all of that
- 13:40power, but none of it is being deployed.
- 13:46Consider neutral your rest state.
- 13:52Even elite athletes need rest in order to grow and improve and
- 13:59become better. Consider yourself an elite
- 14:04athlete of your domain. Rest is not waste, it's
- 14:10essential so you can enjoy being in neutral, turning the engine
- 14:17off with nothing to do, simply allowing yourself to be.
- 14:26And when you move it into gear one, this is you building up
- 14:31momentum, Useful for things that don't require too much power,
- 14:40but do require shifting from inertia to momentum.
- 14:49Consider gear one starting something, those things you've
- 14:55been procrastinating on. Maybe you have an unconscious
- 15:00expectation that you have to jump straight gear 5 or gear 6,
- 15:08but this high performance car needs to start in the lower
- 15:13gears before it is safe to access and harness the higher
- 15:19gears. Consider gear one getting
- 15:24started, or perhaps those things that don't need much resources
- 15:34or energy at all. And maybe gear 2, maybe that's
- 15:44being active, present. Consider this just coasting and
- 15:56gliding, not much to do. These are things that don't
- 16:03require too much of your cognitive powers.
- 16:10This is your easygoing state. You're doing things.
- 16:17But consider this cruise control.
- 16:22Easygoing, not challenging at all.
- 16:28And sometimes it's good to be in this unchallenging state,
- 16:35researching, catching up, reading the news, conversations
- 16:45where you're giving your attention, but nothing is
- 16:50dependent on that attention. And then consider your gear 3
- 16:57and Gear 4 getting things done gears and maybe if it's
- 17:08something that can be done in just a few minutes or less, you
- 17:12just get it done. Or maybe getting it done is
- 17:17going through those things that can be done in the context that
- 17:21you're in. Emails to be sent, things to
- 17:30read, review, or maybe in a particular room.
- 17:37Consider this crossing off things on that To Do List of
- 17:43yours. You need to think, you need
- 17:49action, you need to do things. But consider this well within
- 17:55your comfort zone. This feels like it's doable.
- 18:06So you do it. You don't need to be worked up.
- 18:13You don't need to challenge your brain.
- 18:16Gear 3 and Gear 4 is just doing what needs to be done.
- 18:27And as you drive around in that impressive car, I want you to
- 18:32see open roads. This is where you really get to
- 18:38put your foot down, feel the exhilaration of that
- 18:42acceleration, and notice that if you push too hard on the
- 18:51accelerator steel in Gear 4, on those open roads, you can hear
- 18:57the sound of the engine letting you know that you're in the
- 19:04wrong gear. That sensory acuity to know when
- 19:13you're not quite right is important because in a car you
- 19:20would hear that, and intuitively you would change it.
- 19:26So allow those neural pathways to apply the same principle.
- 19:32When a non challenging situation or environment becomes
- 19:36challenging, you can either intend to shift gear or allow
- 19:43your mind to do it for you. Maybe that's gear 5 or gear 6.
- 19:50If you're really pushing yourself to your limits, needing
- 19:56that focus, that precision, that full capability, and you know
- 20:05the kind of situations that you need to be in Gear 5 or gear 6,
- 20:12and just allow yourself to feel that you know how to get into
- 20:19those states. Becoming activated electric
- 20:27resourceful. Perhaps even in a flow state.
- 20:34You've always had all six gears, but sometimes it's hard to
- 20:41shift. Sometimes we get used to staying
- 20:45in one gear too long. And I want you to imagine
- 20:52there's something that you didn't see before.
- 20:56Although this car is manual, it has a button and you can shift
- 21:04it into automatic whenever you choose.
- 21:11Or maybe that gearbox turns to paddle shifts and you can change
- 21:16gears from the steering wheel. Whatever your imagination shows
- 21:21you feel it's mapping across to your ability naturally change
- 21:30states. And it doesn't matter what these
- 21:38states are, it's just how you deploy these states because you
- 21:48have a gear from 1:00 to 6:00 for creativity, for focus, for
- 21:56productivity, for quick thinking.
- 22:03And sometimes isn't it good to be in gear 6 for one thing and
- 22:10gear one for something else? What if you were on gear one for
- 22:18anxiety and gear 6 for focus yourself to start thinking of
- 22:31many different cars. Each car represents a different
- 22:35resource, a different skill, a different ability, and you can
- 22:43imagine there's different parts to your personality.
- 22:49You have an adventurous side that wants to push things to the
- 22:52limits and another to place things more cautiously.
- 23:00And I want you to feel that all of these parts are working
- 23:04together, working in harmony. And sometimes you're the driver
- 23:16and you get to deploy different resources, different cars, and
- 23:21different gears. Imagine placing your hand on the
- 23:26gear stick, feet on the clutch and accelerator, and then
- 23:32choosing with intention the gear that matches the terrain, the
- 23:38demands, the outcome you want to create.
- 23:46I want you to feel that a decision or intention can change
- 23:49the gear. A posture change can change the
- 23:53gear. Even different clothes can
- 23:58change the gear. After a stressful, intense day,
- 24:05something like kicking off your shoes could be the thing that
- 24:08changes the gear. Changing your clothes from work
- 24:12clothes to casual clothes could change the gear.
- 24:19And we need to get a sense that there are infinite tools for you
- 24:25to intentionally change the gear.
- 24:27And if your unconscious mind agrees, let me know by nodding
- 24:31your head. And then I want you to think
- 24:38that there is a supercomputer on board.
- 24:43We can consider this your higher self and your higher self
- 24:50doesn't need intention. If you imagine an advanced
- 24:56computer on a high performance car, the gear changes
- 25:03automatically depending on the variables.
- 25:09If it's advantageous to change gear, it does, and if it isn't,
- 25:14it doesn't. And I want you to feel that you
- 25:18are activating and empowering your higher self, the part of
- 25:26you that can automatically sense what's needed, that can shift
- 25:32gear up or down without effort. There's nothing you need to do.
- 25:41Your higher self is doing it for you.
- 25:47So if you find yourself shifting posture and you didn't intend to
- 25:54do that, but that shift in posture puts you in a different
- 25:58state, allow yourself to be grateful for that higher self
- 26:05making the changes for you. If you feel a surge of
- 26:13adrenaline, a change to your breathing, what if that's your
- 26:19higher self changing the gear for you because it's useful,
- 26:26perhaps even necessary for the situation that your unconscious
- 26:32has evaluated that you're in? I want you to feel that there is
- 26:40now intelligent automation built into your unconscious mind.
- 26:50You retain the manual control whenever you wanted, but
- 26:55consider your higher self switching to autopilot, making
- 27:00the shifts and manoeuvres necessary depending on your
- 27:04circumstances. And you can trust that because
- 27:13your higher self has access to all of your wisdom, all of your
- 27:18experiences, you can change the gear instantly depending on
- 27:27what's most useful for you. And perhaps you could imagine a
- 27:35time in the future where you intend to change gear.
- 27:43Perhaps imagine grasping the steering wheel, feeling that
- 27:48power that you decide just how far you push it, and then allow
- 28:01yourself to relax. Only one hand on the wheel, no
- 28:07need for the clutch or the gear stick.
- 28:13You are now on auto. So imagine that automatic mode
- 28:19now taking over your higher self, adjusting the settings,
- 28:26fluid, responsive, effortless. And this means that you can be
- 28:34in gear 6 without having to do anything.
- 28:42And your higher self gives you the resources and your
- 28:46unconscious can put those resources to use.
- 28:52And sometimes you can shift from auto to manual because you want
- 28:58to be in control. And sometimes autopilot is the
- 29:04best place to be. And you can be on autopilot in
- 29:09gear 6 or in gear one. Isn't it good to just relax and
- 29:15unwind without intending to do it that way?
- 29:21It just feels right. So allow that shift happening to
- 29:28you. Now maybe you can imagine that
- 29:33challenge that comes your way and you could intend to be in
- 29:39gear 5 or allow your higher self to do it.
- 29:48Maybe you observe or feel how it would feel to be just as
- 29:53resourceful as you need to be. And then perhaps you could
- 30:01imagine being on a vacation or a meal or just relaxing on a
- 30:11Sunday afternoon. And you can intend to be in
- 30:17neutral gear one or allow your autopilot to do it for you.
- 30:24But feel how effortless it feels to dial things down whenever you
- 30:31need to. Rest is best, and feel that
- 30:39sometimes that's absolutely true.
- 30:44Allow yourself to leave this place in your imagination.
- 30:52Leave the car, take all the concepts and ideas with you, and
- 30:57imagine yourself again standing in front of that majestic
- 31:02waterfall, seeing it continue to cascade.
- 31:10Seeing it continuing to flow and even though the waterfall is
- 31:21flowing, every second is different to the last infinite
- 31:28variables and yet it still flows in the same way.
- 31:33And that is your life. Infinite variables but you.
- 31:39Decide. In what direction it flows in.
- 31:44And as you hold that thought, feel that both intentional state
- 31:51change and automatic state change have been upgraded like a
- 32:00new operating system, giving you the ability to do either both,
- 32:08whichever feels most natural, and take that upgraded wave,
- 32:16changing your state all the way back to the present.
- 32:20So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 32:25nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 32:28wiggle your toes. Start to connect and calibrate
- 32:30into the here and the now. That's it as I now count from
- 32:351:00 to 10:00 to awaken you starting to count 123 Waking up
- 32:42456, more alert 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 32:47Open your eyes. 910. Wide awake, Wide awake, wide
- 32:53awake. Thank you so much for joining me
