- 0:00Speaker 1: Steve Harvey, You've brought your fabulous and very insightful, very informal,
- 0:04Speaker 1: very motivating closing remarks back. It's something that you started
- 0:08Speaker 1: years ago when you first started the Steve Harvey Morning Show,
- 0:11Speaker 1: and people have grown to love them and you know,
- 0:14Speaker 1: to live by them and be inspired by them. So
- 0:16Speaker 1: what do you have for us yesterday?
- 0:18Speaker 2: A real good piece of motivation that makes your quest
- 0:21Speaker 2: to become successful a little bit simpler. You know, oftentimes
- 0:26Speaker 2: people are stuck in a rut because they can't think,
- 0:30Speaker 2: they're way clear to see the end result. What I
- 0:35Speaker 2: mean by is, some people make such lofty goals and
- 0:39Speaker 2: then they sit there without a plan of attack to
- 0:43Speaker 2: achieve that lofty goal, until they've created a goal that
- 0:47Speaker 2: seems so daunting that they don't even start the process
- 0:51Speaker 2: of a trying to accomplish it. For example, and this
- 0:55Speaker 2: doesn't have to be the case, I'm just using this
- 0:57Speaker 2: as an example. Let's say you want to be a
- 0:59Speaker 2: millionaire and you say, wow, I want to make a
- 1:02Speaker 2: million dollars, and then you start thinking of how to
- 1:06Speaker 2: make the million dollars, and because you can't, it becomes
- 1:10Speaker 2: so daunting. Making a million dollars is difficult. If it
- 1:14Speaker 2: were easy, wouldn't you do it by Friday?
- 1:18Speaker 3: Wouldn't you?
- 1:19Speaker 2: Of course you would. But it's a little more difficult
- 1:22Speaker 2: than that. So here's what I had to learn in
- 1:26Speaker 2: my life. Everybody listening to this was born with a
- 1:30Speaker 2: gift's inside of you. Because God is very fair. He
- 1:35Speaker 2: didn't put it on a mountaintop, he didn't hide it
- 1:37Speaker 2: under a rock. It's in you, and your gift is
- 1:41Speaker 2: the thing that you do the absolute best with the
- 1:43Speaker 2: least amount of effort. In that lies your greatest chance
- 1:47Speaker 2: for success. There's a scripture that says your gift will
- 1:52Speaker 2: make room for you and put you in the presence
- 1:55Speaker 2: of great men. Let's just look at the first part
- 1:58Speaker 2: of that gift will make room for you. My interpretation
- 2:03Speaker 2: of that has meant what my gift has done for me.
- 2:06Speaker 2: It has allowed me to spread out, It has taken
- 2:09Speaker 2: me places I never dreamed i'd go. Your gift will
- 2:13Speaker 2: do the same thing for you. So now let's just
- 2:16Speaker 2: talk about your ability to get to the million. I
- 2:20Speaker 2: think it's what your gift, because if that's that He
- 2:23Speaker 2: gave you and instilled it you at birth, was to
- 2:26Speaker 2: make room for you. Here's your chance now how do
- 2:29Speaker 2: I do that step? I call it to maximize your
- 2:32Speaker 2: effort by ten theory. It's just something I came up
- 2:35Speaker 2: with driving when I was homeless and coming up with
- 2:38Speaker 2: how to make it, and I discovered something. All of
- 2:41Speaker 2: you have something that some would pay you ten dollars
- 2:44Speaker 2: to do. Some of you paint, some of you teach,
- 2:47Speaker 2: some of you babysit tutors. Some of you work with
- 2:52Speaker 2: your hands, some of you can sing, some of you
- 2:56Speaker 2: can choreograph. Some of you it's so many things. Cut grass,
- 3:01Speaker 2: I mean, play the pianos.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Some of you do something.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Some of y'all work on cars, some of y'all drive.
- 3:07Speaker 2: But all of you have something that you will do
- 3:09Speaker 2: that someone will give you ten dollars to do. All
- 3:12Speaker 2: of you have something that someone will pay you ten
- 3:15Speaker 2: dollars to do because you do something that someone else
- 3:18Speaker 2: can't do. So now all you gotta do instead of
- 3:21Speaker 2: trying to figure out how to make a million dollars
- 3:23Speaker 2: is go make the ten dollars that you're able to make.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Once you make that ten dollars, I want you to
- 3:28Speaker 2: do it ten more times. When you do it ten
- 3:30Speaker 2: more times, you now have one hundred dollars. Once you
- 3:32Speaker 2: have one hundred dollars, it's very simple. Do the same
- 3:34Speaker 2: thing you did to make the one hundred dollars ten
- 3:37Speaker 2: more times. You now have one thousand dollars. See, you
- 3:41Speaker 2: don't have to keep thinking of something else to do.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Just keep doing the same thing that you've been doing.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Just do it.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Multiply the effort. It's the effort that maximizes and brings
- 3:50Speaker 2: about the fruition of what your life can be. So,
- 3:53Speaker 2: if you make one thousand dollars and you do that
- 3:54Speaker 2: ten more times, I have news for you.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Now have ten thousand dollars. Now. Now, in order to.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Make one hundred thousand, you might need a little bit
- 4:03Speaker 2: of help. You might need to hire somebody and help
- 4:05Speaker 2: you do the thing that you do. But if you
- 4:06Speaker 2: make ten thousand dollars and you do what you did
- 4:09Speaker 2: to make ten thousand dollars, which is the same thing
- 4:11Speaker 2: you did to make ten dollars, if you do it
- 4:13Speaker 2: ten more times, you now have one hundred thousand dollars.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Now listen to me, my friends.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Once you have one hundred thousand dollars, I can assure
- 4:21Speaker 2: you you are going to need help because in order
- 4:25Speaker 2: to maximize one hundred thousand dollars. You have to have
- 4:27Speaker 2: some like minded people around you. Nobody gets to the
- 4:30Speaker 2: top alone. Nobody becomes successful and wealthy by themselves. They
- 4:34Speaker 2: form partnerships, relationships, they get employees. But once you make
- 4:38Speaker 2: one hundred thousand dollars doing the same thing you did
- 4:41Speaker 2: to make ten dollars, if you do it ten more times,
- 4:45Speaker 2: I have news for you, my friends. Congratulations, you have
- 4:48Speaker 2: just made one million dollars with a ten dollar idea.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Stop trying to figure out how to make the million.
- 4:54Speaker 2: But all you got to do is take your ten
- 4:56Speaker 2: dollar gift that God has put in you. It's a
- 4:59Speaker 2: million dollar gift that you have. You just haven't broken
- 5:02Speaker 2: it down inch by inch anything's a cinch and maximized
- 5:05Speaker 2: the efforts.
- 5:06Speaker 3: That's how you become successful.
- 5:08Speaker 2: These jokes that pay me what I make now, it's
- 5:10Speaker 2: the same jokes that pay me twenty five dollars a night.
- 5:13Speaker 2: They the same jokes. It's all English. This is not
- 5:18Speaker 2: in another language. I don't know no more words now
- 5:21Speaker 2: than I knew then. I've taken these twenty five dollar
- 5:25Speaker 2: jokes and I maximize them over and over and over
- 5:30Speaker 2: and over and over and over and over. It's the
- 5:33Speaker 2: same jokes I was telling babysitters who charge fifty dollars
- 5:39Speaker 2: to watch kids. Babysitters end up opening up daycare centers.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Daycare centers turn into franchises Krim de La crim Monossory schools.
- 5:50Speaker 2: These are national franchises. Somebody was just babysitting. My partner
- 5:57Speaker 2: used to cut grass fus three dollars in the front,
- 6:00Speaker 2: three dollars in the back. He got a landscape and
- 6:03Speaker 2: come here in Cleveland. He make four million dollars a year.
- 6:05Speaker 3: You know what he do?
- 6:06Speaker 2: He cut grass, same six dollar grass cuttingt he been doing.
- 6:10Speaker 2: You check out some trucks. Now, what is it that
- 6:13Speaker 2: you do that somebody will pay you ten dollars that
- 6:16Speaker 2: you could maximize your effort for and turn it into
- 6:18Speaker 2: your million for trying to figure out how to make
- 6:21Speaker 2: the million. Take your ten dollar skills set and start
- 6:24Speaker 2: hammering it and beating it and working it and grinding
- 6:28Speaker 2: and hustling and multiplying and magnifying it, and you'll make
- 6:31Speaker 2: a million dollars. That's my clothesing remark. Thank y'all very much.
