- Lucas: Luna, welcome back to another episode of Learn Spanish with Fexingo. Luna: Hey Lucas, I'm excited. What are we learning today? Lucas: Today, we're heading to a museum. Imagine you're visiting an art gallery or a history museum in a Spanish-speaking country. Luna: Oh, I love museums. But I'd need to know how to buy a ticket and ask questions in Spanish. Lucas: Exactly. So first phrase: 'La entrada, por favor.' That means 'The ticket, please.' Listen: la entrada, por favor. Luna: La entrada, por favor. Lucas: Perfect. Now, if you want to ask how much the ticket costs, you say: '¿Cuánto cuesta la entrada?' Luna: ¿Cuánto cuesta la entrada? Lucas: Yes. 'Cuánto' means how much, 'cuesta' means it costs, and 'la entrada' is the ticket. So: ¿Cuánto cuesta la entrada? Luna: ¿Cuánto cuesta la entrada? Got it. Lucas: Good. Now, another useful question: '¿A qué hora cierra el museo?' That's 'What time does the museum close?' Luna: ¿A qué hora cierra el museo? Hmm, 'cierra' means closes? Lucas: Exactly. 'Cierra' is the verb for closes. So: ¿A qué hora cierra el museo? Luna: ¿A qué hora cierra el museo? That's a long one, but I'll practice. Lucas: You'll get it. Now, once you're inside, you might see a painting you like. You can say: 'Me gusta esta pintura.' 'Me gusta' means I like, 'esta' means this, and 'pintura' is painting. Luna: Me gusta esta pintura. Oh, I like that. So I can compliment the art. Lucas: Yes. And if you need to find the exit, ask: '¿Dónde está la salida?' Where is the exit? Luna: ¿Dónde está la salida? That's similar to '¿Dónde está el baño?' which we learned before. Lucas: Right. 'Salida' is exit. So, let's practice all five: La entrada, por favor. ¿Cuánto cuesta la entrada? ¿A qué hora cierra el museo? Me gusta esta pintura. ¿Dónde está la salida? Luna: Okay, I'll try. La entrada, por favor. ¿Cuánto cuesta la entrada? ¿A qué hora cierra el museo? Me gusta esta pintura. ¿Dónde está la salida? Lucas: Excellent, Luna. You said them well. Now let's put them into a scene. Imagine we're at a museum in Madrid. Luna: Okay, I'm ready. Lucas: You walk up to the ticket window and say: La entrada, por favor. Then you ask: ¿Cuánto cuesta la entrada? The cashier says five euros. Then you ask: ¿A qué hora cierra el museo? They say at seven. You go inside and see a beautiful painting. You turn to me and say: Me gusta esta pintura. Luna: Me gusta esta pintura. And later I need the restroom, so I ask: ¿Dónde está la salida? Wait, no, that's exit. I need the bathroom. But I could ask for the exit to leave. Lucas: Right. You can ask for the exit when you're ready to leave. So now you know five phrases for a museum visit. Luna: This is going to be so helpful. I feel like I could actually do this in real life. Lucas: That's the goal. And if Fexingo has been helping you make progress with Spanish, we'd love your support. Me gusta esta pintura.... ¿Dónde está la salida? Luna: La entrada, por favor. ¿Cuánto cuesta la entrada? ¿A qué hora cierra el museo? Me gusta esta pintura. ¿Dónde está la salida? Lucas: Perfect.
