Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex Garrett. All right, Well, we're learning
• 0:06
Speaker 1: a little bit more about the assassination of the United
• 0:10
Speaker 1: Health CEO Brian Thompson tonight. Thanks to smart News for
• 0:16
Speaker 1: delivering this news to us. Well, apparently nine health Care
• 0:23
Speaker 1: CEO Brian Thompson was accused of insider trading and fraud
• 0:29
Speaker 1: before he was assassinated this earlier today in Manhattan. That
• 0:34
Speaker 1: according to dailymail dot Com, in fact, the DJ launched
• 0:39
Speaker 1: a probe into whether the private company of the nation's
• 0:42
Speaker 1: biggest insurer, led by Thompson was unfairly restricted competitors and
• 0:48
Speaker 1: running a monopoly. Here's where it's got interesting. The City
• 0:54
Speaker 1: of Hollywood Firefighter's pension fund said the CEO failed to
• 0:59
Speaker 1: tell investors of the federal probe before he unloaded over
• 1:02
Speaker 1: thirty one percent of his stock, taking him fifteen point
• 1:06
Speaker 1: one million dollars in proceeds. So a couple of things here,
• 1:13
Speaker 1: where was this probe by the DJ going next to
• 1:16
Speaker 1: the point where he was assassinated today in Manhattan by
• 1:20
Speaker 1: the Hilton outside the Hilton Ford East West four fifty
• 1:24
Speaker 1: fourth Street. Secondly, imagine there were hits out on senators
• 1:32
Speaker 1: that unloaded stock before COVID, chilling to think, chilling to think.
• 1:40
Speaker 1: So I have a couple of theories on this. On
• 1:44
Speaker 1: the one, like up on news, either uh, there's no
• 1:49
Speaker 1: doubt this was planned. But either this probe was going
• 1:52
Speaker 1: to a point where someone didn't want him to talk,
• 1:56
Speaker 1: He didn't want to talk, and he was knocked off.
• 2:04
Speaker 1: Today the United Healthcare CEO knocked off middle of Manhattan,
• 2:12
Speaker 1: the Wall Street Journal. According to dailyma dot com reported
• 2:15
Speaker 1: in February, bedroom investacents have been interviewing healthcare inter industry
• 2:20
Speaker 1: representatives where United Health compete, including doctors groups. Issues included
• 2:27
Speaker 1: certain relationships between companies using Healthcare insurance unit and its
• 2:31
Speaker 1: Optimal Health Service Arm, among other assets. The ogre also
• 2:35
Speaker 1: examining Medicare building practices and such. But but this attack
• 2:46
Speaker 1: down sixth that has created a large man hunt and
• 2:51
Speaker 1: the under interesting part of this is the tracking device
• 2:56
Speaker 1: on city bikes. Yes, city bikes have tracking devices, so
• 3:01
Speaker 1: it might show exactly where this killer dropped off the
• 3:04
Speaker 1: sea bag. We hope this guy is found. We hope
• 3:08
Speaker 1: this guy is found. And how interesting is it that
• 3:14
Speaker 1: the fast paced in New York City will now turn
• 3:17
Speaker 1: its eyes in about an hour from now to the
• 3:19
Speaker 1: lighting of the Rockefeller Christmas tree just blocks away from
• 3:22
Speaker 1: the shooting today, truly is a definition of a New
• 3:28
Speaker 1: York minute. One minute, we're dealing with a horrible shooting
• 3:32
Speaker 1: of a health CEO that's not being found out done
• 3:37
Speaker 1: the DOJ probe. To the next minute, blocks away, a celebration,
• 3:41
Speaker 1: a tree lighting, a Christmas tree lighting at Rockefeller Center,
• 3:46
Speaker 1: only in New York. But I found this to be
• 3:50
Speaker 1: in parallel between the awful killing of Detective Johnathan Diller
• 3:55
Speaker 1: and what's happened since Diller's death. His murder Really when
• 4:03
Speaker 1: only become detective eling to Long Island Pizza Strong donate
• 4:09
Speaker 1: you know, all that money to the Diller family. But
• 4:14
Speaker 1: they've now raised seventy thousand dollars in Dillar's honor to
• 4:21
Speaker 1: fund annual scholarships for tuition for students at Saint Mary's
• 4:25
Speaker 1: High School right here in Manhassett, Long Island, where her husband,
• 4:31
Speaker 1: Stephanie h Stephanie Deyl I to talk about, was a
• 4:35
Speaker 1: student athlete. So seventy thousand dollars hungrades in a collaborative
• 4:44
Speaker 1: opportunity NYPD, the National County p D, and Suffolk County
• 4:49
Speaker 1: PD in the life and legacy of Detective Gentleman Diller. So,
• 4:58
Speaker 1: if there's any good m to come out of this
• 5:02
Speaker 1: holiday season, this Christmas season, maybe it's that Detective Diller
• 5:06
Speaker 1: did not die in Bay. Maybe it's that silver linings
• 5:13
Speaker 1: can exist in horrible tragedies. And this fundraiser seventy thousand
• 5:18
Speaker 1: dollars bestowed UH through scholarships at Saint Mary's High School
• 5:28
Speaker 1: right here, Long Island, by the way, it's amazing these
• 5:31
Speaker 1: Long Island stories happen as I'm on the LR and
• 5:35
Speaker 1: you can call five one six four O nine eighteen
• 5:38
Speaker 1: hundred for more information. Reporting honest was Bill Perry at
• 5:43
Speaker 1: Bill Dout Perry at n y am ny dot com.
• 5:48
  Speaker 1: It's been a rough year. It's been a hell of
• 5:51
Speaker 1: a year. And to know that these tragedies bring some
• 6:00
Speaker 1: hope in a holiday season, in a Christmas season, should
• 6:08
Speaker 1: choke you up, should make you emotional, should make you
• 6:11
Speaker 1: feel like people do give a shit in this town,
• 6:17
Speaker 1: in the city, in this country. And this one leg
• 6:23
Speaker 1: up on News commends these police departments and the family
• 6:30
Speaker 1: of the Diller family for their strength to carry on
• 6:33
Speaker 1: the legacy of one Detective Jonathan Dillar. I pray more
• 6:39
Speaker 1: answers come about with the DOJ probe and how this
• 6:44
Speaker 1: CEO was shot fatally shot in Manhattan, And yet I'm
• 6:52
Speaker 1: kind of cheered up by the fact that a Christmas
• 6:55
Speaker 1: treet will be lit in Rockefeller Center, turning darkness into
• 6:59
Speaker 1: life in midtown Manhattan tonight. That's my short drop in
• 7:03
Speaker 1: for the one looking up on news. I'm Alex Garrett,
