- 2:15Speaker 1: A lot of times, I may hear the music, may
- 2:17Speaker 1: know the music. I may not know the people. Juice
- 2:20Speaker 1: J say his name in the songs too much for
- 2:23Speaker 1: you not to know who he is. It's okay, I'm
- 2:28Speaker 1: gonna tell you something. But we don't really listen to
- 2:30Speaker 1: the type of music for real anymore. I ain't gonna lie.
- 2:35Speaker 1: I have my moments, but not with Juice J. I
- 2:37Speaker 1: might have my moments like t I. I'm on the grind,
- 2:40Speaker 1: grand hustle, got the mind and the muscle like that's
- 2:44Speaker 1: I feel like you know I'm old if it ain't, no,
- 2:48Speaker 1: but you don't know. You didn't know the song that
- 2:50Speaker 1: I just said about t I. Do you know who
- 2:51Speaker 1: t I is? I know who t I is. Okay,
- 2:56Speaker 1: you're looking at me like I know who. Okay, Sometimes
- 3:00Speaker 1: I have to hear that motivation understand. Yeah it's me'am,
- 3:05Speaker 1: it's ma'am. Well, no, that was that was that I
- 3:08Speaker 1: just did. Wanted to acept Rocky not. That's not right.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I wish y'all could have seen her face. Y'all. First
- 3:18Speaker 1: of all, we're not gonna disrespect these folks establishment with
- 3:25Speaker 1: ignorant okay, by these folks, I'm talking about the j

- 3:37Speaker 1: it said, y'all. So if y'all not coming, y'all not booking,
- 3:40Speaker 1: they have a podcast room, they have a conference room.
- 3:44Speaker 1: They have i'm gonna call it an auditorium because literally,
- 3:48Speaker 1: they got the screens, they got the sound system, everything
- 3:51Speaker 1: that you need is already here. You just gotta show up,
- 3:53Speaker 1: pull up and pay, pull up and book, book, book
- 3:56Speaker 1: your reservation. Okay, and the tour pays a virtual option.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Pay pay them, pull up, pay and pull up. Yeah,
- 4:02Speaker 1: because you don't get to pull up, you don't pay. Yeah,
- 4:05Speaker 1: you know, all right, shout out to the link, right,
- 4:07Speaker 1: here in Birmingham, Alabama, y'all. So outside of talking about
- 4:11Speaker 1: Juice J and T, I thanks, don't get mad, y'all. Okay,
- 4:17Speaker 1: y'all know y'all listen to them back in the day anyway,
- 4:18Speaker 1: So don't come for me, come for somebody else, all right.
- 4:21Speaker 1: So today I really want to talk about the benefits
- 4:26Speaker 1: of podcasting, right, the idea of the podcasting world. Why
- 4:31Speaker 1: why are we doing this? Why you should do it?
- 4:34Speaker 1: If especially if you're thinking about it. I think it's
- 4:36Speaker 1: a good conversation to have it, especially especially for Kingdom
- 4:40Speaker 1: matters or Kingdom matters, right, And a lot of people say, like,
- 4:45Speaker 1: you know, ask the question how do I get into this?
- 4:47Speaker 1: How did you start? Or whatever? So I'm about to
- 4:50Speaker 1: answer that part right now. So back in twenty twenty two,
- 4:56Speaker 1: I had just met my spirit who I consider now
- 5:00Speaker 1: my spiritual father, Apostle. How y'all remember him. He came
- 5:04Speaker 1: for when he came on a podcast and did so
- 5:08Speaker 1: when I was doing that, when I was you know,
- 5:11Speaker 1: talking to him and getting to know him and stuff
- 5:13Speaker 1: like that. Man, one day he randomly just called me.
- 5:17Speaker 1: I think he called me, and we won't have a conversation.
- 5:19Speaker 1: He said, just you need to start a podcast. Who
- 5:22Speaker 1: are you talking to me? Who are you talking to
- 5:27Speaker 1: And I said, okay, what is that? I don't you
- 5:30Speaker 1: know I heard of a podcast. I didn't really know
- 5:33Speaker 1: what all went into having a podcast, but I knew
- 5:36Speaker 1: he had a podcast, right, and so that's one of
- 5:39Speaker 1: the things we talked about or whatever. But he was
- 5:41Speaker 1: just so adamant about having a podcast, right, And so
- 5:47Speaker 1: when he told me, I was like so confused on
- 5:49Speaker 1: why he would ask me, because, for one, I felt
- 5:52Speaker 1: like people didn't appreciate my voice, people didn't listen to me,
- 5:58Speaker 1: and what I was already doing on YouTube wasn't really
- 6:01Speaker 1: you know, getting attraction that it needed, right. So, but
- 6:04Speaker 1: sometimes you just got to operate in obedience, right. So
- 6:07Speaker 1: once he put it in an atmosphere, it just did,
- 6:11Speaker 1: like it did not stop ringing from my from my
- 6:14Speaker 1: my head, like it just kept So he had planted
- 6:17Speaker 1: the seed baby, he planned a seed baby, and somebody
- 6:19Speaker 1: was watering it in. Somebody was watering it. So I
- 6:24Speaker 1: did it. So behind the scenes, he helped me pretty
- 6:28Speaker 1: much with everything, Like for instance, like for all our platform,
- 6:32Speaker 1: for our audio, we used a spreaker. That's how everything
- 6:36Speaker 1: the host platform. It goes and distributes to Apple podcasts, Spotify,
- 6:43Speaker 1: our Heart Radio, anybody that you apply and get approved
- 6:45Speaker 1: for right well ask you just real quick, Yes, I
- 6:48Speaker 1: know there are multiple different distribution typed platforms. What made
- 6:52Speaker 1: you land on Spreaker? So Spreaker was the what he
- 6:55Speaker 1: introduced me to, so I went with what he trusted.
- 6:58Speaker 1: You know there, I think it's called red Dots, So
- 7:01Speaker 1: it's a lot of them up there, like even spotifyy
- 7:03Speaker 1: that has they have their their own But the other
- 7:06Speaker 1: thing about Spotify is that you only get to use
- 7:09Speaker 1: it on Spotify. It's free, but you just get to
- 7:12Speaker 1: it's only on Spotify, which nothing's wrong with that if
- 7:15Speaker 1: you okay with just being on Spotify. I wanted to.
- 7:18Speaker 1: I'm an Apple girl, so I have Apple podcasts. I
- 7:21Speaker 1: want to be able to listen on my Apple podcasts.
- 7:23Speaker 1: So just the flexibility of it, Spreaker is very easy
- 7:28Speaker 1: to use. I don't know why I'm doing this ad
- 7:29Speaker 1: for them right now, They're gonna have to pay me,
- 7:33Speaker 1: but honest to god, y'all, Spreaker is a good a
- 7:37Speaker 1: good host of the audio for the podcast, so use that.
- 7:41Speaker 1: It was easy to set up and then I already
- 7:46Speaker 1: had my YouTube YouTube channel, which was interesting y'all. So
- 7:51Speaker 1: just as was already what I was already using that
- 7:55Speaker 1: for my blogging or you know, discussion time or whatever.
- 8:00Speaker 1: But little I was sitting in front of a camera,
- 8:01Speaker 1: camera and I would talk. I learned how to edit
- 8:04Speaker 1: then I was doing already doing my thumbnail. I'm already
- 8:08Speaker 1: doing then what I'm doing now, just not as intensified. Right,
- 8:13Speaker 1: So when he put the label podcasts to it, I
- 8:15Speaker 1: was like, no, that's responsibility, that's a lot of work.
- 8:20Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, I'm doing it, but I
- 8:21Speaker 1: just don't want to call him what I'm doing. I'm
- 8:23Speaker 1: playing at this point. I'm playing, and he like, you
- 8:25Speaker 1: need to take this thing serious, right, not knowing that,
- 8:27Speaker 1: like I'm literally interviewing my friends. I'm having a discussion
- 8:30Speaker 1: with Brie. Brie. Brie has shout out to you, baby,
- 8:33Speaker 1: you have been down for the count. So and Bree'
- 8:37Speaker 1: is the reason why I started a l YouTube channel.
- 8:40Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. I wasn't really seeing myself
- 8:42Speaker 1: doing this. So fast forward, we had a conversation. I'm
- 8:45Speaker 1: on the background doing my research doing the YouTube thing,
- 8:49Speaker 1: also getting feedback from him, and so literally I told
- 8:55Speaker 1: Greg shout out to Greg that I was going to
- 8:58Speaker 1: do the podcast, and he was. So he helped me
- 9:00Speaker 1: accountable and I recently learned that accountability is basically helping
- 9:08Speaker 1: people to push to where they said they wanted to be. Right.
- 9:13Speaker 1: So literally, I might have gotten frustrated with him asking
- 9:15Speaker 1: me questions, but all he was doing was asking reminded
- 9:19Speaker 1: me of what I said. I was what you said,
- 9:21Speaker 1: all right, but that's another podcast for another day. So
- 9:25Speaker 1: when I did that, when I told him that, he
- 9:30Speaker 1: was on me. So I started just as the podcast
- 9:35Speaker 1: October twentieth, twenty twenty two. That's actually my Mama's birthday.
- 9:39Speaker 1: That's how I can remember it too. So it was
- 9:40Speaker 1: on a Thursday, because I was like, God, if you
- 9:42Speaker 1: really want me to do this, okay, if I'm started
- 9:44Speaker 1: on to October, what day I want to do? You
- 9:46Speaker 1: want me to start it off? And I'm big on
- 9:48Speaker 1: I've always been big on birthday. So things happened literally
- 9:51Speaker 1: on people that special to me on their birthday. So
- 9:54Speaker 1: my mom's birthday is October twentieth, it was on Thursday.
- 9:57Speaker 1: That's how just as the podcast started coming out every Thursday.
- 10:00Speaker 1: It was nothing deep like that. So whatever day of
- 10:03Speaker 1: the week you want to choose to do your podcast,
- 10:05Speaker 1: do it. Just just do it, Okay. And so now
- 10:08Speaker 1: we're almost two years. In my eyes, I'm kind of
- 10:15Speaker 1: like blown away with everything that has happened in less
- 10:18Speaker 1: than two years. So when we get the five, you know,
- 10:23Speaker 1: like I'm gonna be like bro like like I'm probably
- 10:29Speaker 1: gonna cry because it's like I thought that this. I
- 10:32Speaker 1: almost gave up before you got here. Before you got here,
- 10:36Speaker 1: so people really be asking, like how the DESI rate
- 10:39Speaker 1: get involved? She inserted herself and did and did tell
- 10:44Speaker 1: the folks about this. I was just being obedient, so like,
- 10:48Speaker 1: and I wasn't kind of like just like I'm a podcast,
- 10:52Speaker 1: what does that mean? I was learning. I knew how
- 10:55Speaker 1: to use a camera for photography, and one of the
- 10:58Speaker 1: courses that I took did a combination of both, so
- 11:01Speaker 1: it taught the basics, so photography and videography, right, So
- 11:05Speaker 1: I was learning how to use the camera to record video.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I had a friend Keani who actually had a podcast.
- 11:13Speaker 1: She had an audio podcast called Becoming My Best Me,
- 11:17Speaker 1: and she would take the audio and put the audio
- 11:19Speaker 1: on YouTube with a with a with a graphic. I
- 11:22Speaker 1: said that ain't what YouTube for YouTube is for video, right,
- 11:27Speaker 1: So I was like, well, I got a camera. So
- 11:28Speaker 1: it's literally just my thinking. We're just just trying to
- 11:31Speaker 1: just trying to help. I was like, oh, well, I
- 11:32Speaker 1: got a camera. Can just turning in her pot and
- 11:34Speaker 1: her and her segments was only like five to ten minutes.
- 11:37Speaker 1: They were like like these little quick bikes to kind
- 11:39Speaker 1: of just kind of get you through your day kind
- 11:40Speaker 1: of thing. And so she would come over, we would
- 11:42Speaker 1: I'll put the camera on. I had a little I
- 11:44Speaker 1: was using like a little lapel mic a little situation,
- 11:46Speaker 1: and we recorded record the video. I give it to
- 11:48Speaker 1: her and she put on a thing. So after kind
- 11:51Speaker 1: of doing this consistently, now my mind is like, oh man,
- 11:54Speaker 1: this is kind of cool, Like how can I make
- 11:57Speaker 1: this better kind of thing? So I'm like the Lord
- 12:01Speaker 1: dropped drop dropped you in my spirit because one I'm
- 12:04Speaker 1: kind of like, is this something that people actually do
- 12:07Speaker 1: or like do people like that's doing it themselves. I
- 12:09Speaker 1: knew you was doing it yourselves. I was like, is
- 12:11Speaker 1: this something that people will like need help help with?
- 12:14Speaker 1: I don't even know what that looks like. So I
- 12:16Speaker 1: just did I just reached out and say, hey, So
- 12:18Speaker 1: I was recently reaching out just to ask you questions,
- 12:20Speaker 1: like like, hey, you're doing this on your own, Like
- 12:23Speaker 1: is this something that if you have the opportunity, like
- 12:26Speaker 1: would you want somebody to help you with this? Or
- 12:28Speaker 1: like what pieces would you be cool with releasing? And
- 12:32Speaker 1: I was just really asking questions, just trying to like
- 12:34Speaker 1: form this that that entrepreneur like creativeness in me, Like
- 12:38Speaker 1: what does this look like? And so I reached out
- 12:40Speaker 1: and I asked the ship, but they look like I
- 12:42Speaker 1: was really asking questions. And then the Lord was like,
- 12:45Speaker 1: Boom dead? Is Boom? You want to help her? And
- 12:47Speaker 1: I didn't. I didn't know that. But the one thing
- 12:49Speaker 1: that she didn't know at the time. I'm in season
- 12:52Speaker 1: two right, So at first, with the it okay, with
- 12:56Speaker 1: the consistency your podcast needs. If you that you're going
- 13:00Speaker 1: to be there weekly on a certain day, you have
- 13:04Speaker 1: to plan to be there that certain day. Right now,
- 13:11Speaker 1: it's no secret that we pre record, like we'll do
- 13:13Speaker 1: bad recording and let the episodes come out. It's nothing
- 13:16Speaker 1: wrong with that, Like that's the best way. She has
- 13:19Speaker 1: a business schedule. I'll have a big schedule. But in
- 13:21Speaker 1: the beginning it was all me, and I never really
- 13:24Speaker 1: planned out well enough to like, what do I want
- 13:28Speaker 1: to talk about because at this point I'm not really
- 13:30Speaker 1: having that guests, Like the guest thing just started and
- 13:33Speaker 1: it started booming like crazy, especially this year, and so
- 13:38Speaker 1: it was just me. And then when Desilray came around,
- 13:42Speaker 1: I was talking and I felt like I got better
- 13:45Speaker 1: having somebody that was least looking at me. And then
- 13:48Speaker 1: she was talking so good. I was like, maybe you
- 13:49Speaker 1: have to get a mic. I don't want to be
- 13:51Speaker 1: on a camera site. So we had to go back
- 13:53Speaker 1: and forth about her being on camera. So everything that
- 13:56Speaker 1: y'all see has been like a development point, but it's
- 13:58Speaker 1: because we decided to go right. And so but when
- 14:03Speaker 1: I first started, I was doing seasons. Yeah, I was
- 14:06Speaker 1: doing seasons before the first podcast summit, and I was
- 14:10Speaker 1: doing ten episodes per season. And now I don't even
- 14:19Speaker 1: understand why I did that, but I because I didn't
- 14:22Speaker 1: really have a valid excuse to while I did it.
- 14:25Speaker 1: I think like seasons in series have their place too,
- 14:30Speaker 1: Like it's something like I kind of look at like this,
- 14:34Speaker 1: so you can do one episode. So let's say I
- 14:37Speaker 1: just want to just try to see what this is
- 14:39Speaker 1: kind of like right, And then most of the time
- 14:40Speaker 1: when people do that first episode, they kind of realize
- 14:43Speaker 1: that it's a little bit more than what they thought. Yep,
- 14:45Speaker 1: you know, the commitment is a little bit more they thought,
- 14:47Speaker 1: and they'd be like, Okay, I did it. Okay, great.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I think a season allows you to you know, be committed,
- 14:54Speaker 1: you know, give up, give a point in time for commitment,
- 14:56Speaker 1: or let's say it's a it's a certain topic or
- 15:00Speaker 1: a certain thing that you want to have a series around.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I think a season is great. But when you like, hey,
- 15:06Speaker 1: I'm in this thing for real, I think that's the
- 15:09Speaker 1: I think that's the distinction that you had to begin
- 15:11Speaker 1: to make. Like I think at first she was just
- 15:13Speaker 1: kind of doing it because it was like aposs a house,
- 15:15Speaker 1: I should do this. Okay, cool, I'm kind of already
- 15:18Speaker 1: doing it. Let me just commit kind of. But then
- 15:22Speaker 1: you had to make a decision to like really really commit. Well,
- 15:25Speaker 1: when you came along, I didn't have no choice with
- 15:28Speaker 1: the commit So I think it was it was levels
- 15:32Speaker 1: when we're talking about a lot of good stuff right now,
- 15:34Speaker 1: But let's let's stick on the podcast for because if
- 15:37Speaker 1: we go from podcasts to partnership. This whole thing is
- 15:39Speaker 1: shift real quick, but I need it as a rate
- 15:42Speaker 1: in order to commit. There's a thing that God wanted
- 15:44Speaker 1: me to do, so I'm I'm focused on trying to
- 15:48Speaker 1: get it done. And I was like, you know what
- 15:50Speaker 1: I did. I did the ten episodes by myself. I
- 15:53Speaker 1: did it by myself. Now all of them didn't have
- 15:55Speaker 1: video because I didn't. That wasn't my expertise, right, I
- 15:59Speaker 1: only did stuff off my phone, but at this point,
- 16:01Speaker 1: I'm using my computer. I didn't invest it in a well,
- 16:04Speaker 1: I won't call it a real investment. I paid money
- 16:10Speaker 1: for it, but it was a broken investment. But it
- 16:13Speaker 1: was a camera and it would flicker on it all
- 16:16Speaker 1: y'all can if the stuff is still on now, y'all
- 16:18Speaker 1: can go. It does not look like the quality of
- 16:21Speaker 1: work that we have now. And I was in my
- 16:24Speaker 1: office at home and I had to, you know, headphones
- 16:28Speaker 1: to look like I'm cool, and I had to you know,
- 16:32Speaker 1: I did it because I thought it was all I
- 16:33Speaker 1: was supposed to do, right, and I made it work
- 16:37Speaker 1: now audibly we have all those episodes itself for my
- 16:41Speaker 1: dad's because that was a bad, bad audio moment, but
- 16:44Speaker 1: audibly we have all those episodes, and but the visual part.
- 16:48Speaker 1: I was like, whoa, Because technically podcasting is audio. Technically
- 16:52Speaker 1: podcasting is audio, So if you chose to just do audio,
- 16:57Speaker 1: you make it a lot probably a little bit easier. However,
- 17:01Speaker 1: people are into being able to see who they hear. Yeah,
- 17:05Speaker 1: that's all almost shifted with saying just that. But people
- 17:09Speaker 1: like to see who they hear, and it's a benefit
- 17:12Speaker 1: to being able to have both. Right, So you're satisfying
- 17:17Speaker 1: those needs, right, yeah, I think you too. When you're
- 17:21Speaker 1: when you're kind of deciding to do which lane, I
- 17:24Speaker 1: think it's easier to start with the traditional like audio
- 17:27Speaker 1: podcast And there's nothing wrong with that, Like there's people
- 17:30Speaker 1: who only who only have audio podcasts and are like
- 17:34Speaker 1: doing doing really really well. It's just the you know,
- 17:37Speaker 1: the times as things shift and change. Of course, YouTube
- 17:40Speaker 1: is really has been big for a minute now, so
- 17:41Speaker 1: now people are like, oh, I can you know, actually
- 17:45Speaker 1: watch you know who I'm actually listening I can get
- 17:47Speaker 1: to see like it it's different when you actually get
- 17:49Speaker 1: to see like, uh, expressions and things of that nature
- 17:52Speaker 1: for people. And it's and if I'm honest, like you
- 17:57Speaker 1: can kind of do it simultaneously, Like if you have
- 18:01Speaker 1: audio going into the camera, why not just throw the
- 18:04Speaker 1: camera up and then now you have the video and
- 18:06Speaker 1: the audio to put the audio on the audio platforms.
- 18:08Speaker 1: But there's obviously there's nothing wrong with if you just
- 18:11Speaker 1: decided to start to do audio, because I think at
- 18:14Speaker 1: some point in time in my life I will have
- 18:16Speaker 1: an audio podcast, and I think it's just gonna be, honestly,
- 18:21Speaker 1: just audio. That's what's been the sound, Like I just
- 18:24Speaker 1: give hear the Lord talk about the sound, and I
- 18:27Speaker 1: think that's the direction that that I will go in
- 18:30Speaker 1: at that at that point in time, even though I
- 18:32Speaker 1: can do video, and I may still throw the camera
- 18:34Speaker 1: up for now every now and then just to get
- 18:35Speaker 1: like some you know, clips and stuff like that and
- 18:37Speaker 1: social media. But ain't none wrong with it started with
- 18:40Speaker 1: you are and it's cheaper, Like you can literally you
- 18:43Speaker 1: can use your phone for all of this. Yep, I'm
- 18:45Speaker 1: gonna repeat, you can use you can use your phone
- 18:49Speaker 1: for all of this. It does not have to be
- 18:53Speaker 1: even what we have. And the gag is that we
- 18:56Speaker 1: ain't even got with everybody else. Hell listen, let me
- 18:59Speaker 1: tell you. But just because talked about me so good
- 19:01Speaker 1: when I came up and I had these microphones and
- 19:05Speaker 1: she said, what kind of microphones these church mics? Church microphones.
- 19:09Speaker 1: But these is good dynamic microphones and that's what we've
- 19:14Speaker 1: been using my church mics. Oh, speaking of the link,
- 19:17Speaker 1: these are their microphones. Appreciate it. They provide the microphones
- 19:24Speaker 1: for All you have to do is really literally bring
- 19:26Speaker 1: the card for the podcast room. But like literally like
- 19:30Speaker 1: you all, you all, you need your phone, right, the
- 19:32Speaker 1: phone really picks it. You picks up good audio as
- 19:35Speaker 1: long as you know, and then when you're editing, you
- 19:37Speaker 1: can remove the background. NOI It's like, there's so many
- 19:40Speaker 1: tools that are in your favor. Yeah, I'm gonna say
- 19:43Speaker 1: that again for the people in the back. Yep, there
- 19:45Speaker 1: are so many tools in your favor. You just got
- 19:48Speaker 1: to decide to do it right. So sound is the
- 19:53Speaker 1: more more uh comfortable option for people that don't want
- 19:59Speaker 1: to do the video. But what about the people that
- 20:03Speaker 1: don't like their voice? All right? I was one of
- 20:07Speaker 1: those people. I was one of the people that I
- 20:09Speaker 1: was like, uh, like right now, what you're getting right now?
- 20:12Speaker 1: Go listen to my first my first episode. I was like, hello, guys,
- 20:20Speaker 1: is Jessica Smith voice O? Baby, I lifted that boy
- 20:24Speaker 1: so good because I was, like, I sound like a man, right,
- 20:27Speaker 1: but didn't. Nobody watched this, probably because it was my
- 20:32Speaker 1: first episode, but also like I was my first season.
- 20:36Speaker 1: I had some good what you would call it, some
- 20:40Speaker 1: good messages or some good moments, but I was not myself.
- 20:47Speaker 1: I was I really wasn't myself. And so if you
- 20:49Speaker 1: ever go back to my few of my first episodes,
- 20:53Speaker 1: I think you would enjoy them, but you'd be like,
- 20:55Speaker 1: who is in the world is that girl? Because I didn't.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I didn't. I was trying to get comfortable with me.
- 21:01Speaker 1: So this is what the benefits. That's why I said,
- 21:03Speaker 1: I want to talk about the benefits of podcasting beyond
- 21:06Speaker 1: the money, beyond advertised, beyond saying okay, I'm gonna do
- 21:10Speaker 1: beyond all of that. I want to get to get
- 21:12Speaker 1: y'all to understand why if you're gonna be in this world,
- 21:16Speaker 1: this podcast world, or even in entertainment, these are the
- 21:20Speaker 1: things you should look forward to. Okay. So there's a
- 21:22Speaker 1: Ray's gonna help me out on these. She don't even
- 21:25Speaker 1: know what I wrote down, all right. So the first
- 21:27Speaker 1: one was the benefit was voice activation. So, like I said,
- 21:34Speaker 1: I felt like I sounded like a man. I felt like,
- 21:37Speaker 1: you know, nobody really was listening to me. But everything
- 21:40Speaker 1: I started saying as I developed and I got comfortable,
- 21:44Speaker 1: I started to show up as myself. I started allowing
- 21:47Speaker 1: my voice to be what my voice is gonna be,
- 21:51Speaker 1: which started activating things such as the Tabitha Brown situation.
- 21:57Speaker 1: So if y'all don't know, if y'all go play it back.
- 22:00Speaker 1: I think it was the last episode of last year,
- 22:03Speaker 1: twenty twenty three, and in that episode, I said, no, no,
- 22:12Speaker 1: that wasn't that episode. No, it was the episode I
- 22:15Speaker 1: prayed I prayed for the next year. But then it
- 22:18Speaker 1: was another episode right before my birthday. What I said,
- 22:22Speaker 1: dees A Ray was like how you feel? And I
- 22:25Speaker 1: was like, I don't know, I'm nervous because something's about
- 22:29Speaker 1: that happened, and literally I think we were talking about
- 22:32Speaker 1: I think we were kind of talking about your birthday. Yeah, okay,
- 22:35Speaker 1: literally something. The next something happening was Tabitha Brown just
- 22:42Speaker 1: allowing me to bust the ceiling on my voice. So
- 22:47Speaker 1: now my voice is being not just reached for my audience,
- 22:51Speaker 1: but it's starting to expand over the globe. Right, So
- 22:55Speaker 1: when you think about it, especially as a believer. When
- 22:58Speaker 1: you think about it, we're supposed to be We're called
- 23:01Speaker 1: to the nation, call to the nations. We're called to speak,
- 23:04Speaker 1: to speak and voice, activate and use our faith. And
- 23:07Speaker 1: if we're not doing that, then things don't come alive.
- 23:11Speaker 1: And so when I start podcasting, I start speaking more.
- 23:16Speaker 1: I started speaking up for myself. I started speaking up
- 23:19Speaker 1: for what I desire. I start altering how what I
- 23:24Speaker 1: say right. I had to be mindful of my words.
- 23:27Speaker 1: And you know, I used to study a whole lot,
- 23:30Speaker 1: like I still stutter, but even now, because I keep
- 23:33Speaker 1: pushing beyond that, there are things that were about my
- 23:37Speaker 1: voice that I'm not intimidated by or scared to use
- 23:40Speaker 1: right a lot of times at this point me and
- 23:42Speaker 1: that's where we have had this conversation. Oh, I can't
- 23:44Speaker 1: be saying that because things be happening. Yeah, don't like
- 23:47Speaker 1: real talk, just I can wholeheartedly agree, like I ain't
- 23:50Speaker 1: want to be the only reason why I'm right here,
- 23:53Speaker 1: right here in this camera and this microphone is because
- 23:55Speaker 1: of Jessica. I would have been perfectly fine sitting right
- 23:58Speaker 1: behind here with my little switchingboard and I seeing nothing, Okay,
- 24:02Speaker 1: But like she said it me being obedient honestly and
- 24:08Speaker 1: actually allowing myself to share, Like I don't always have
- 24:13Speaker 1: anything to say, but when I do, it's okay, you
- 24:16Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. And it has made me more
- 24:17Speaker 1: comfortable in my just regular life using my voice cause
- 24:22Speaker 1: kind of like I don't know, like I've had this
- 24:24Speaker 1: thing too. I'm like, I don't even got nothing to say,
- 24:26Speaker 1: because honestly, within these last couple of years, I'm now
- 24:30Speaker 1: just stepping into being comfortable with my voice at all,
- 24:33Speaker 1: just because it had got muted so young, you know
- 24:37Speaker 1: what I'm saying, And so I'm like, man, I ain't
- 24:39Speaker 1: got nothing to say, but it's so interesting. Now I'm
- 24:42Speaker 1: paying attention to people respond how people respond to me
- 24:46Speaker 1: when I'm talking, Like even my mama, my mama the
- 24:47Speaker 1: one that shut me down, honey, and she will call
- 24:50Speaker 1: me for my opinion. She will call me just to
- 24:53Speaker 1: hear what I have to say about something, and I'm
- 24:55Speaker 1: just like wow, like this is this has been us
- 24:58Speaker 1: and like you said, like some and now I'm aware
- 25:01Speaker 1: that I have to be very careful with the things
- 25:02Speaker 1: that I that I say because even this morning, crazy thing,
- 25:05Speaker 1: this and this happened twice this week. I was praying
- 25:08Speaker 1: about a friend. I look at my phone a friend
- 25:11Speaker 1: and text me, I'm praying this morning about my mama,
- 25:14Speaker 1: and my mom's getting she's in the process of, like,
- 25:16Speaker 1: you know, she's about laying, she's trying to get new
- 25:18Speaker 1: home and stuff like that. So I'm, you know, thanking
- 25:19Speaker 1: God for her new home. Blah blah blah blah blah,
- 25:21Speaker 1: not even I don't know. Ten minutes later, she called
- 25:24Speaker 1: me and was like, Hey, did I tell you I
- 25:25Speaker 1: talked to the lady about the house. And I was
- 25:27Speaker 1: just like, oh man, lord, this is so cool. But
- 25:29Speaker 1: I'm just getting more comfortable because everything is voice activated.
- 25:33Speaker 1: It is. Everything is definitely voice activating. And that's a
- 25:36Speaker 1: beautiful thing that you brought up, that that you're becoming
- 25:42Speaker 1: more comfortable outside of the camera. Like the think about
- 25:47Speaker 1: it is people think that the podcast really starts right here. Yeah,
- 25:51Speaker 1: but it really starts all cameras. Like a lot of
- 25:54Speaker 1: our conversations that we have people that we talk about,
- 25:56Speaker 1: people that we say, hey, we would love for them
- 25:59Speaker 1: to be on the platform whatever, they end up reaching
- 26:01Speaker 1: out to us and saying, hey, I want to be
- 26:04Speaker 1: on your I want to be on your platform. Why
- 26:06Speaker 1: because it doesn't just present their voice, but we believe
- 26:11Speaker 1: that on this specific platform it activates another level, Like
- 26:15Speaker 1: anybody that touches this platform that like just because of
- 26:19Speaker 1: what God has done in us and the gifts that
- 26:22Speaker 1: we have within us beyond what you see right here,
- 26:26Speaker 1: it makes them excited about themselves. And so your voice
- 26:32Speaker 1: is connected to a lot of greatness and you just
- 26:36Speaker 1: got to be stop being afraid or allowing the enemy
- 26:39Speaker 1: to punk you out on what your gift is. Right.
- 26:43Speaker 1: So that's my first one was activation. The second one
- 26:47Speaker 1: is that the benefit is that it builds confidence. Maybe
- 26:50Speaker 1: when I tell you, I don't I don't even know
- 26:58Speaker 1: how to genuine express the lack of confidence that I've had,
- 27:04Speaker 1: Like a lot of people see me as oh Jessica,
- 27:07Speaker 1: you have red hair, you have this, you have that.
- 27:09Speaker 1: I did all of that for like, so that I
- 27:13Speaker 1: could have confidence like I've always and me and Desiret
- 27:20Speaker 1: was just talking about this right before we started recording.
- 27:22Speaker 1: I have a issue with my body, my appearance, right,
- 27:31Speaker 1: and sometimes I am very hard on myself on the
- 27:36Speaker 1: way I look, the size that I am and just
- 27:42Speaker 1: a little different nickpicky things, and I deserate as the
- 27:47Speaker 1: one of the people I talked to about it. But
- 27:49Speaker 1: what the podcast does is it allowed me to just
- 27:52Speaker 1: you know, this is my space to develop, This is
- 27:55Speaker 1: my space, my safe space. If I'm saying, okay, we
- 27:58Speaker 1: create a safe space for influence, the decompress, have fun,
- 28:01Speaker 1: and just as why can I be safe? That's just
- 28:05Speaker 1: that's just crazy. So when you have your intro, whatever
- 28:08Speaker 1: you're developing or whatever, you got to figure out what
- 28:11Speaker 1: do you need for you that you're gonna give others?
- 28:13Speaker 1: This is so good. What are you? What do you
- 28:15Speaker 1: need for yourself that you're gonna give others? And so
- 28:18Speaker 1: what I did was I created a safe space not
- 28:22Speaker 1: because other people needed it, but because I needed it first.
- 28:25Speaker 1: That's why that first season was by itself, by myself primarily.
- 28:30Speaker 1: That's why we did like a lot of things so
- 28:33Speaker 1: that I could be comfortable with me, because I wouldn't
- 28:35Speaker 1: be comfortable. If I wasn't comfortable with me, I wouldn't
- 28:38Speaker 1: be comfortable with other people. And so this is a nugget.
- 28:40Speaker 1: I didn't even write this in my notes. Before you
- 28:42Speaker 1: start trying to interview people and do all this other stuff,
- 28:45Speaker 1: get you some get you comfortable with your space first,
- 28:49Speaker 1: because if you're not comfortable with your space, you're not
- 28:51Speaker 1: gonna have a good conversation. You're not gonna interview well.
- 28:54Speaker 1: But beyond the research that you do, it's just not
- 28:57Speaker 1: gonna be good. Like even if even if you study it,
- 29:01Speaker 1: it's just not gonna be genuine. It's just not gonna
- 29:03Speaker 1: be good. And just because you can have a good
- 29:05Speaker 1: conversation off camera does not mean that you can have
- 29:07Speaker 1: a good conversation in front of the camera. The cameras
- 29:09Speaker 1: make things different in my in my life, the cameras
- 29:15Speaker 1: make things different. Sometimes your anxiety can get up, you
- 29:18Speaker 1: can be acting fake. You know what I'm saying. I
- 29:21Speaker 1: love Devon shout out to Debora. She told me the
- 29:23Speaker 1: other day. She was like, I enjoy your platform because
- 29:26Speaker 1: you're the same girl you are on the camera. You
- 29:29Speaker 1: can meet her on Saturday. Yeah, you can meet me
- 29:32Speaker 1: on Saturday, and I'm gonna be I'm going to show
- 29:36Speaker 1: up the same way. And before before I didn't have
- 29:39Speaker 1: the confidence that I could be me, and so it
- 29:43Speaker 1: made me. It brought me to me, and it made
- 29:46Speaker 1: me confident that I can help people be comfortable and
- 29:49Speaker 1: safe enough to be themselves here. Yeah, Yeah, that's that's
- 29:52Speaker 1: definitely what I've what I experience is kind of like
- 29:57Speaker 1: you said, like, what do you need that you want
- 30:01Speaker 1: other people to be able to experience? And so if
- 30:03Speaker 1: you need a safe space in order to be able
- 30:05Speaker 1: to let your let your hair down and let your
- 30:07Speaker 1: guard down and be safe in a vulnerable space, then
- 30:10Speaker 1: that's the same kind of thing that somebody else would
- 30:12Speaker 1: need to especially if you think about like influencers, you
- 30:14Speaker 1: think about like people in ministry, like there's probably so
- 30:17Speaker 1: used to being like on all the time, you know
- 30:19Speaker 1: what I'm saying, But creating a space, You've created a
- 30:22Speaker 1: space where they can just come in and just like, oh, yeah, okay,
- 30:27Speaker 1: I like this. Yeah, and not to brag, like people
- 30:30Speaker 1: really like coming here. It's bigger than you just getting
- 30:33Speaker 1: exposure and getting some clips and being able to collaborate.
- 30:37Speaker 1: It's bigger than it. Like people genuinely like being around
- 30:41Speaker 1: me and Desert Ray, and the thing that they've said
- 30:43Speaker 1: has been like man, they's so nice, you know, like
- 30:48Speaker 1: God has given us a platform to where we can
- 30:51Speaker 1: host people and just be nice to them. Like I
- 30:54Speaker 1: don't want to, I don't want to gossip. I don't
- 30:56Speaker 1: want to I don't want to talk about that. I
- 31:00Speaker 1: don't like what what's what comes out here is just
- 31:04Speaker 1: genuine conversation. And so check check your heart even why
- 31:09Speaker 1: you want to start one, you know what I'm saying,
- 31:11Speaker 1: because it's not gonna last if you're just starting it
- 31:14Speaker 1: just to be seen, just to be just another trendy
- 31:18Speaker 1: thing to do, because it's not baby listen, this is
- 31:22Speaker 1: not a trend the baby listened. Like the amount of
- 31:24Speaker 1: work and time and effort that really goes into not
- 31:28Speaker 1: even not even necessarily like the quality, right I'm talking
- 31:32Speaker 1: about even when you started with where you were, there
- 31:34Speaker 1: were still times work that you had to put into it.
- 31:37Speaker 1: So like just say, like you just really have to
- 31:39Speaker 1: check your heart and your motive behind the thing. Because
- 31:41Speaker 1: when things happen, because things are gonna happen, plenty of
- 31:44Speaker 1: things are happening, plenty of plenty, I say, plenty, plenty
- 31:48Speaker 1: of crazy things in the moment happens. And so if
- 31:51Speaker 1: you don't keep your why in front of you, why
- 31:53Speaker 1: why you even started, it's gonna be easy for you
- 31:56Speaker 1: to shut the camera off and go and not do
- 31:59Speaker 1: it again. And then so I'll bring up the partnership
- 32:01Speaker 1: thing again. You may not have. Before I had Desiree.
- 32:04Speaker 1: I had Greg and Greg. He's been on a couple
- 32:09Speaker 1: of shows. When he time permits, he'll be back. But
- 32:14Speaker 1: I had Greg too. He was listening to every episode.
- 32:20Speaker 1: He was providing me feedback. He was telling me what
- 32:24Speaker 1: he saw as I was pushing forward. He was excited
- 32:28Speaker 1: about me going to the podcast. Like literally, even though
- 32:33Speaker 1: he wasn't physically, you know, helping me with you know, editing,
- 32:36Speaker 1: recording anything like that. He was partnering with me even
- 32:41Speaker 1: in the feedback. So sometimes partnerships look well, a lot
- 32:45Speaker 1: of times partnerships look different. You may you may not
- 32:48Speaker 1: have your desiree yet. I always talk about tell people
- 32:50Speaker 1: that you need a deserraate and I stand on them.
- 32:53Speaker 1: I stand on the words. But you also need a Greg. Yeah. Greg.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Greg gave me. This is so good. Greg gave me
- 32:59Speaker 1: the partnership he could give me, which was through accountability
- 33:03Speaker 1: and support. If nobody else was listening to my podcast,
- 33:07Speaker 1: Greg was listening to my podcast, if nobody else was
- 33:10Speaker 1: giving me feedback, Greg was giving me feedback and new
- 33:13Speaker 1: ideas and pushing me to this point to where I
- 33:16Speaker 1: could manage a desireate. Before I had Desiraate. I had
- 33:19Speaker 1: to learn the stresses that Desiree would have. I had
- 33:23Speaker 1: to learn what I wanted, Right, some of us don't
- 33:26Speaker 1: want to do certain things. We want to pay pay
- 33:28Speaker 1: everybody to do everything. But one thing I love about
- 33:31Speaker 1: that dog on David Shan's he gonna figure it out
- 33:34Speaker 1: himself and then he gonna pay some pay somebody. But
- 33:37Speaker 1: he's gonna be able to tell somebody what they want.
- 33:39Speaker 1: They want what he wants. You're not gonna just do
- 33:42Speaker 1: his do his work any type of way. Now, if
- 33:44Speaker 1: he's just not an expert in it or whatever, he
- 33:46Speaker 1: might do some research and let you do your thing
- 33:48Speaker 1: and say, hey, I don't think that sounds right. But
- 33:50Speaker 1: that man, he gonna he'll get behind the camera, he'll
- 33:53Speaker 1: start editing or whatever. You'll never know how to do
- 33:56Speaker 1: that if you don't put your hand to the to
- 33:59Speaker 1: the test. And so I can appreciate that desert right
- 34:01Speaker 1: because I have done it for myself. Man, it's a
- 34:05Speaker 1: it's a lot, and it's just funny because I'm just
- 34:12Speaker 1: going back to you just have to keep your wife
- 34:13Speaker 1: in front of you, like, because when I tell you like,
- 34:16Speaker 1: it wasn't until I said, like yes for real like,
- 34:18Speaker 1: like I said, I was doing the things. But as
- 34:20Speaker 1: I said, yes, you know, I was able to elevate
- 34:24Speaker 1: my knowledge and things of that nature. But things would happen. Yeah,
- 34:29Speaker 1: and I'll be mad. I think a lot of things
- 34:32Speaker 1: have happened. One of the things that happened was when
- 34:35Speaker 1: Daddy we did the Father's Day podcast and that was
- 34:38Speaker 1: that was for me. A lot of people enjoyed it.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Y'all enjoyed it. That one was that one was personal
- 34:44Speaker 1: and that dog on audio went out. Now, keep in mind, y'all,
- 34:50Speaker 1: we had this is this is the third episode of
- 34:52Speaker 1: the day. At the time, I was using a different recorder. Okay,
- 34:54Speaker 1: it's done going to Jesus. Okay, it's done, going on
- 34:58Speaker 1: to Jesus. And I think that was his last I
- 35:00Speaker 1: didn't know. So we had recorded two episodes that day
- 35:04Speaker 1: and then we did just as Dad episode. And keep
- 35:06Speaker 1: in mind, it's it's lit like it's recording. Okay, the numbers,
- 35:11Speaker 1: the numbers is counting up and everything. The next day
- 35:14Speaker 1: I had a project to do. I had to do
- 35:17Speaker 1: audio recording everything, and we did a podcast later on
- 35:20Speaker 1: that evening. Why did it record? It recorded the first
- 35:23Speaker 1: two that day? It did not. It was like empty
- 35:25Speaker 1: files of Jessica's dad's audio. Then the next day the
- 35:29Speaker 1: project I did empty files of the audio, and then
- 35:32Speaker 1: it decided to record the last one other day. Right,
- 35:35Speaker 1: So here we are, and at that time, her dad
- 35:38Speaker 1: was getting ready to go into surgery. You know, he's
- 35:44Speaker 1: overcoming and fighting through the cancer and things of that nature.
- 35:48Speaker 1: And so it was I knew it was a very
- 35:50Speaker 1: special moment, and like I felt really defeated in that
- 35:55Speaker 1: moment because I'm like, dang, like this was a big moment,
- 35:59Speaker 1: and I felt like I dropped the ball, even though
- 36:03Speaker 1: I didn't drop the ball, right, And so it's just
- 36:05Speaker 1: little pieces like that, like what has been happening where
- 36:08Speaker 1: I know the enemy is trying to throw me off.
- 36:10Speaker 1: I know the enemy is trying to make me second
- 36:12Speaker 1: guess what I know God is telling me to do.
- 36:14Speaker 1: But at the end of the day, I know what
- 36:16Speaker 1: God told me to do. Right, So regardless of I'm like,
- 36:18Speaker 1: all right, Lord, so what So thankfully I had had
- 36:23Speaker 1: I had somebody that that that gifted a roadcaster. So
- 36:28Speaker 1: when the thing went down, we just went went on. Now,
- 36:31Speaker 1: look now we're in a space where we can use
- 36:34Speaker 1: what they got. Yeah, most most definitely, I think the
- 36:38Speaker 1: biggest thing to add to what you're saying regarding that
- 36:41Speaker 1: situation is now you gotta when things happen like that,
- 36:45Speaker 1: she gotta tell me. And if you know, we talked
- 36:48Speaker 1: about type A and a few episodes ago, if you
- 36:51Speaker 1: know me, you know that I'm a little a little special.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Got better though, Jessica, I got you know what. But
- 36:58Speaker 1: it then is before before or Dad's episode, we had
- 37:02Speaker 1: Coach d Well the Phumbies and the Wilson and we
- 37:07Speaker 1: had some struggles with the audio there, and so this
- 37:11Speaker 1: process has really taught me. I didn't even put this
- 37:13Speaker 1: on the list. This process has really told me to
- 37:15Speaker 1: go with the punches. Like Carl can't even think of
- 37:21Speaker 1: like Carl's last name right now, but he's on on
- 37:26Speaker 1: the podcast with CJ and E T and them, and
- 37:31Speaker 1: he's into the tech. He's the tech guys, right. So
- 37:35Speaker 1: I was able by being in the seven figure podcast
- 37:38Speaker 1: community to communicate, hey, this is what happened with this episode,
- 37:41Speaker 1: and he was like, Okay, send me a link to
- 37:44Speaker 1: let me see you. And he's the one. If it
- 37:46Speaker 1: wasn't for him, by god, I would have been messed up.
- 37:50Speaker 1: He was like hey, just use this, just just just
- 37:54Speaker 1: go with it, because he understood the sentiment behind it,
- 37:58Speaker 1: and then I would never get that. Sometimes you just
- 38:00Speaker 1: gotta go with the punches and go go with what
- 38:03Speaker 1: you what you know. But people still watch it, and
- 38:06Speaker 1: people still enjoyed it, and so give yourself grace, Give
- 38:09Speaker 1: yourself grace. Let's go to the third thing. So the
- 38:13Speaker 1: one of another benefits. Another benefit for podcasting is that
- 38:17Speaker 1: it promotes consistency. It makes you either be a liar
- 38:22Speaker 1: or truth teller. You either gonna lie to the people
- 38:27Speaker 1: and say you're gonna show up and will not show
- 38:30Speaker 1: up when you said you're gonna show up, or you're
- 38:32Speaker 1: just gonna show up. Like people say, Oh my gods,
- 38:35Speaker 1: I'm so proud of you because you're proud because it's
- 38:38Speaker 1: something that you don't think you can do. But you,
- 38:41Speaker 1: like you said, we have to push beyond ourselves. Push
- 38:44Speaker 1: like knowing your why. I'm glad you brought the up.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Knowing your why of why you're like why you're doing this.
- 38:49Speaker 1: I know that this podcast thing is breaking yolks every week.
- 38:54Speaker 1: I know it. I know it's building my bloodline. I
- 38:56Speaker 1: know it's setting myself, my my family up when I
- 39:00Speaker 1: get my own, you know, for success. I know that
- 39:03Speaker 1: when my children see me and I go on to glory,
- 39:06Speaker 1: they still get to come to YouTube or whatever platform
- 39:10Speaker 1: I'm still on and say, oh my gosh, that was
- 39:13Speaker 1: my mama. My mama was doing it, my grandma was
- 39:15Speaker 1: doing it, my great grandma was doing it. I'm leaving
- 39:17Speaker 1: a legacy, and so that is what gets me out
- 39:21Speaker 1: of my punk anytime it's time for me to say, okay,
- 39:24Speaker 1: it's time to turn on, when I'm already on, if
- 39:27Speaker 1: I'm being myself, man, yeah, my girl in deep thought
- 39:35Speaker 1: over there, my girl, I was like booming in and
- 39:38Speaker 1: just went I was like, dang, so we wanted to
- 39:40Speaker 1: come back that one. But yeah, y'all you watch this.
- 39:44Speaker 1: You deserve to be consistent. You deserve to be consistent.
- 39:50Speaker 1: I have this thing asistent. Yeah that go, thank you boom.
- 39:57Speaker 1: If I'm honest, this podcast it has helped me so
- 40:01Speaker 1: me just a very different I don't know if you
- 40:03Speaker 1: notice that or not. She's very She's very type A
- 40:06Speaker 1: and I'm just kind of like, hey, we're here. But
- 40:10Speaker 1: what this podcast has helped me to do is to
- 40:14Speaker 1: really get more disciplined and consistent in my regular life
- 40:18Speaker 1: because I know, so we have we have a night
- 40:20Speaker 1: So as we've grown, now this ain't what we was before.
- 40:23Speaker 1: Before we was just were just trying to figure it out.
- 40:25Speaker 1: But now as we've grown, we've come up with a schedule.
- 40:28Speaker 1: We have like a recording schedule, we have releasing schedule,
- 40:31Speaker 1: we have like processes and procedures in place now that
- 40:34Speaker 1: helps us stay consistent so that we can continue to
- 40:36Speaker 1: do what we know that God has told us to do.
- 40:39Speaker 1: And having the process and procedures helps the planet execution.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Like we literally we review anytime something come up, like
- 40:49Speaker 1: we're reviewing it, like I'm listening to the podcast the
- 40:52Speaker 1: same episode multiple times. We gotta look at Okay, what
- 40:56Speaker 1: did we say? We got to look at it to
- 40:57Speaker 1: get you know, get the title and the clips that
- 41:01Speaker 1: we want on our So it's a lot into it
- 41:04Speaker 1: than just pressing and record and going right. So the
- 41:07Speaker 1: consistent part of it is that being consistent allows you
- 41:10Speaker 1: to see, Okay, I got this flow right here, this
- 41:13Speaker 1: is so good. I got this flow right here. Am
- 41:15Speaker 1: I gonna fix it? Or I'm gonna let it go.
- 41:18Speaker 1: I don't like this, or I think we should change this,
- 41:21Speaker 1: or we can see what's working right. The reason why
- 41:24Speaker 1: you guys like the show is because we're consistent with ourselves.
- 41:28Speaker 1: We consistently show up at the same time every week.
- 41:30Speaker 1: You know, you know what's coming, what's coming, And so
- 41:34Speaker 1: I love the fact that desil Ray said this podcast
- 41:37Speaker 1: allowed me to be consistent with myself. This podcast is
- 41:39Speaker 1: breaking things for me personally, like I can't even I
- 41:43Speaker 1: cannot be the same person at my house and show
- 41:47Speaker 1: up a different way. You don't get the genuiness out
- 41:50Speaker 1: of that. So you're gonna feel everything that we're going through.
- 41:53Speaker 1: So consistency. Watch this consistency allows people to trust you.
- 42:02Speaker 1: It makes me trustworthy, It makes Desiraate trustworthy. When we
- 42:07Speaker 1: say that we're gonna do something and we're actually doing
- 42:10Speaker 1: it and we're not just doing it, we're doing it
- 42:12Speaker 1: every week because in y'all mind, and I'm gonna say
- 42:16Speaker 1: it was in y'all mind, it's really it's hard, and
- 42:19Speaker 1: you haven't seen yourself be consistent with you, and that's
- 42:23Speaker 1: what you really want. You don't want to sometimes you
- 42:25Speaker 1: don't want the podcast. Sometimes you just want the evidence
- 42:29Speaker 1: of the consistency and whatever area, maybe it's not podcasting,
- 42:34Speaker 1: whatever area that you said you was gonna show up
- 42:37Speaker 1: for get some accountability, get your partner, tell them, okay,
- 42:41Speaker 1: this is what I want to do, and allow them
- 42:43Speaker 1: to hold you accountable for that, because that's gonna help
- 42:46Speaker 1: promote the consistency that you want. Because I know you
- 42:49Speaker 1: ain't just worried about lying lying to people, but you
- 42:52Speaker 1: worried about lying to yourself. You said, listen, you're talking
- 42:55Speaker 1: about to somebody that was sick, has been sick and
- 42:57Speaker 1: tired of lying to themselves things I've been lying to myself. Well,
- 43:01Speaker 1: I'm like, God, okay, I just how do we deal
- 43:04Speaker 1: with this? How do we deal with this? We we
- 43:07Speaker 1: continue to denounce our flesh and we operate in the spirit.
- 43:11Speaker 1: That's my answer. That's good. That's good. All right. So
- 43:15Speaker 1: the fourth thing is, and I love this. This is
- 43:17Speaker 1: probably one of my favorites. Podcasting creates community. I love
- 43:23Speaker 1: our community. Shout out if you have been riding with
- 43:27Speaker 1: just as. First of all, I want to say thank you,
- 43:29Speaker 1: but I want to know who you are, so I
- 43:30Speaker 1: need you to comment below. I need you to I
- 43:33Speaker 1: want to I want to say thank you to each
- 43:35Speaker 1: and every one of you. Y'all. This community has been growing.
- 43:40Speaker 1: It's been growing, like it's growing real, like genuinely and
- 43:45Speaker 1: like shout out to my TikTok family because y'all really
- 43:48Speaker 1: help your girl out. But the people that we get
- 43:51Speaker 1: to meet, not just that are part of our community,
- 43:53Speaker 1: but the people that we get to bring on like Trician,
- 43:57Speaker 1: Like who would who would the thought we got to
- 44:00Speaker 1: talk to Patricians Meg Farland aka Flosto met Who would
- 44:04Speaker 1: have thought that we got to talk sit down with
- 44:08Speaker 1: Bishop Jonathan or Wood? Who would have thought that we
- 44:12Speaker 1: get to sit down with Shanty Boutis? Like who thinks
- 44:16Speaker 1: that we get to sit down and talk to these
- 44:18Speaker 1: amazing people and we're connected for life. Like people really
- 44:22Speaker 1: didn't like they rock with us after they leave here,
- 44:25Speaker 1: like they were like, okay cool, Like I like y'all
- 44:28Speaker 1: y'all real cool people like real it was like, oh
- 44:31Speaker 1: my god, like real talk. And it's it's such a rewarding,
- 44:35Speaker 1: uh thing to be that place where people just like
- 44:38Speaker 1: to come back to. I think one of the things
- 44:42Speaker 1: that I enjoy is the people. Like why I like
- 44:47Speaker 1: being behind the camera a lot of times is because
- 44:49Speaker 1: I just get to sit and glean and listen and
- 44:52Speaker 1: listen to these amazing people. Like who sometimes would have
- 44:59Speaker 1: I ain't gonna say opportunity, but now like as we
- 45:02Speaker 1: build network, as we build community, like their voice, their
- 45:05Speaker 1: messages now get to resonate out to those who are
- 45:08Speaker 1: who've really been looking for and just had not been
- 45:11Speaker 1: able to find them. Yeah, you know what I'm saying.
- 45:13Speaker 1: And that's and that's one of one of the beauties
- 45:15Speaker 1: for me is I heard the Lord say help the helper,
- 45:20Speaker 1: and that's exactly what that looks like. That's helping to
- 45:22Speaker 1: create spaces, helping to create platforms, helping to capture the sounds,
- 45:27Speaker 1: capture the videos that he's giving for the messages that
- 45:31Speaker 1: he's given people, and helping them be able to get
- 45:34Speaker 1: it out to the people who need it. Like we're
- 45:36Speaker 1: called like we're literally we're called to every somebody and
- 45:39Speaker 1: then we call it everybody, but we're called to somebody
- 45:41Speaker 1: and if we're not showing up authentically. We talked, You
- 45:43Speaker 1: talked about how your first season used you know, bicking
- 45:48Speaker 1: somebody I don't know, but the people who are looking
- 45:51Speaker 1: for you couldn't find you because they couldn't recognize that.
- 45:54Speaker 1: So good that was like I'm looking for this sound,
- 45:57Speaker 1: I'm looking for this voice but that ain't it, but
- 45:59Speaker 1: it it is it, but it ain't it, you know
- 46:01Speaker 1: what I'm saying. So it's the face, but it's the
- 46:03Speaker 1: face but not the sound. That's why the sound is
- 46:06Speaker 1: so important. Takes back to your point about God being
- 46:09Speaker 1: specific about the sound, like he gave us a sound
- 46:13Speaker 1: for a reason. And if something's voice activated, it does
- 46:17Speaker 1: and your sound is not recognizable, then nothing moves, nothing opens, y'all.
- 46:26Speaker 1: I'm gonna say that again. If you are trying to
- 46:31Speaker 1: manipulate the God given sound that you were given, what
- 46:38Speaker 1: happens is the door doesn't open. And what happens when
- 46:45Speaker 1: the door doesn't open, you become frustrated like you're doing
- 46:48Speaker 1: the wrong thing, but you're sounding the wrong way. And
- 46:54Speaker 1: so it is. Really it has really increased our community.
- 47:00Speaker 1: Our sound has increased our community, like just on both ends.
- 47:04Speaker 1: And so we're I think that that part makes us happy.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Mo's just because we we love to serve. Like there's
- 47:11Speaker 1: a there's a there's a serving aspect to this this
- 47:14Speaker 1: space to where we allow people that don't normally get
- 47:18Speaker 1: to have a platform to speak on to speak because
- 47:21Speaker 1: there's some really there are some when I say some
- 47:24Speaker 1: really dope people really do. Man that don't get the
- 47:28Speaker 1: opportunity to have only want to say they're they're shine,
- 47:33Speaker 1: but to be heard. And God has given us a
- 47:36Speaker 1: platform I think I'm giving. I'm getting over the point
- 47:39Speaker 1: of trying to get these uh celebrities or the most
- 47:45Speaker 1: well known people. Now there's some people that say they
- 47:48Speaker 1: want to be on a platform, some celebrities or some
- 47:51Speaker 1: strong influences that's going to be on just as I'm
- 47:54Speaker 1: not negating that. But what I'm saying is me going
- 47:57Speaker 1: after it like I was like, Oh, why need this
- 48:00Speaker 1: person for just ask to be seen or I need
- 48:03Speaker 1: this person for just ask to go. No, it's gonna
- 48:06Speaker 1: go as God goes. We didn't have that many people
- 48:09Speaker 1: following us before Tab with the Brown, and even after
- 48:13Speaker 1: Tab with the Brown, people still didn't subscribe. It was
- 48:16Speaker 1: people like Kayla Lan and Sean Tay about this when
- 48:23Speaker 1: you look at the analytics and pastor Andrea Gates like that,
- 48:29Speaker 1: now that one that one is going ham like people
- 48:33Speaker 1: follow because of those type of people and those type
- 48:36Speaker 1: of interactions that are not necessarily known worldwide, you know
- 48:40Speaker 1: what I'm saying. And so that's the importance of this platform.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Speaking of that it leads me into my last one
- 48:46Speaker 1: to where the benefit for me of podcasting is that
- 48:50Speaker 1: is that it does increase influence. And as a believer,
- 48:53Speaker 1: sometimes we can be like, oh, you're just trying to
- 48:56Speaker 1: you're just trying to be influenced. So you're trying to
- 48:58Speaker 1: do this, But why wouldn't I That is part of
- 49:01Speaker 1: a mountain, It's part of a mount of the mounts
- 49:04Speaker 1: of entertainment. And if we're not in front of people
- 49:08Speaker 1: who are who's in front of the people the wrong stuff?
- 49:12Speaker 1: So we complaining about, you know, gun violence, We're complaining
- 49:17Speaker 1: about the kids not having things to listen to, We
- 49:20Speaker 1: complain about entertainment, we complaining about people dying, We complain
- 49:24Speaker 1: about all these things. But then we don't want to
- 49:26Speaker 1: go be the people that influences or are in front
- 49:32Speaker 1: or willing to be in front of the people, because
- 49:34Speaker 1: you think entertainment is just of the devil, And that's
- 49:37Speaker 1: a lie, it's a complete that is a complete lie.
- 49:43Speaker 1: And so I think that we have to get get
- 49:45Speaker 1: in our minds and get and digest properly that although
- 49:50Speaker 1: you know it works, it's good to be an influencer.
- 49:56Speaker 1: But although that although we see influencers in a different way,
- 50:00Speaker 1: and it's you know, this content creation, it's kind of
- 50:03Speaker 1: you know, it can have some great, great moments sometimes. However,
- 50:07Speaker 1: the thing that we do, if we're leaning not until
- 50:09Speaker 1: our own understanding in all that ways acknowledging him so
- 50:12Speaker 1: he can make our path straight. We know that the
- 50:15Speaker 1: things that we do, the things that we promote, the
- 50:17Speaker 1: things that we submit and to the world are of God.
- 50:22Speaker 1: And why wouldn't we want to do that? Yeah, I
- 50:24Speaker 1: think God can use if we're honest. God created out everything, right,
- 50:29Speaker 1: it's just because we're in the world, the world uses
- 50:32Speaker 1: it in a in a dark way. And so He's
- 50:35Speaker 1: God is literally waiting for you, waiting for us to
- 50:39Speaker 1: step into our God given abilities talents that He's given
- 50:44Speaker 1: us to influence who He's called us the influence. Otherwise,
- 50:48Speaker 1: like what are we doing? Like He didn't give us
- 50:50Speaker 1: the gifts and the talents for ourselves. He gave He
- 50:53Speaker 1: gave them to us to help to build, to edify
- 50:56Speaker 1: other people. And he will use a platform you will use,
- 51:02Speaker 1: somebody saying on the corner to do what his will.
- 51:04Speaker 1: His kingdom is on this earth. You know what I'm saying.
- 51:07Speaker 1: And I think sometimes when people make those types of comments,
- 51:10Speaker 1: I think it's more internally, more internally some things that
- 51:14Speaker 1: they're not okay with, like cause, So if I'm honest,
- 51:17Speaker 1: like I would see, Let's say, if I see somebody
- 51:21Speaker 1: on social media and they're constantly posting all the time, like,
- 51:23Speaker 1: dangn ain't posting all the time? What the reality is
- 51:25Speaker 1: because I'm not comfortable posting because I'm not comfortable with
- 51:28Speaker 1: putting myself out there like that. That's the truth. It's
- 51:29Speaker 1: nothing wrong with them. They're doing exactly what they supposed
- 51:31Speaker 1: to do. But I had some insecurities of some things.
- 51:35Speaker 1: So when you really step into this thing like wholeheartedly
- 51:39Speaker 1: and give it your all, like, you're gonna get the influence.
- 51:43Speaker 1: And it may not be the influence that you're thinking
- 51:45Speaker 1: it's gonna be, but you're gonna get the influence that
- 51:47Speaker 1: it's supposed to be. As long as you allow God
- 51:49Speaker 1: to lead and you keep leaning on what the plan
- 51:52Speaker 1: is that He has for you're gonna get the influence
- 51:55Speaker 1: that you're supposed to have. The beautiful thing I'm learning
- 51:58Speaker 1: even about the influence space is that you can influence up. Yeah,
- 52:04Speaker 1: you can influence up. What do I mean by that
- 52:07Speaker 1: the people that you think that would be you would
- 52:09Speaker 1: be influenced by are influenced by you. And I'm learning
- 52:14Speaker 1: that through this journey. People have been finding me on Instagram.
- 52:17Speaker 1: Out of all places, people have been finding me personally,
- 52:21Speaker 1: and like, I've been getting dms from people like I'm like,
- 52:24Speaker 1: who is this person? Oh? This person look like this person? Oh,
- 52:27Speaker 1: this person connected this person? Wow? And you're dming me
- 52:31Speaker 1: or you when I tell you I've gotten I've got
- 52:34Speaker 1: a random DM that just blessed my spirit, okay, and
- 52:37Speaker 1: the men of God start following me. And it's been
- 52:41Speaker 1: it's just been rewarding to people that you don't even
- 52:45Speaker 1: know that you look on the page and you look
- 52:47Speaker 1: at the numbers. All right, now, I don't even have
- 52:50Speaker 1: three thousand followers on Instagram, but yeah, I got most
- 52:54Speaker 1: a lot of blue check people that really got followers,
- 52:56Speaker 1: not the fake blue checks, the real real blue checks,
- 52:59Speaker 1: the real blue chicks. And yeah, that that means something
- 53:02Speaker 1: that they have a status. Right. They got sixty five
- 53:06Speaker 1: k following them on one hundred, one hundred k following them,
- 53:09Speaker 1: a million, four million people following them, And I'm just confielming,
- 53:13Speaker 1: like I only got three k. God told me the
- 53:16Speaker 1: other day. He was like, it's quality over quantity. And
- 53:19Speaker 1: so the impact not even just influence, but the impact
- 53:24Speaker 1: that this this podcast is making is allowing me to
- 53:28Speaker 1: be seen by the people that need to see me.
- 53:31Speaker 1: It's allowing desil Ray, y'all. Desi Ray has been like
- 53:34Speaker 1: on the road like she been outside y'all. She been
- 53:37Speaker 1: a work and I'm proud of my girl. Like it's
- 53:40Speaker 1: giving Desiree another level of confidence. It's like when I
- 53:43Speaker 1: walk into a room, I change things, like I'm the
- 53:46Speaker 1: I capture things. That is my gift. I help you,
- 53:50Speaker 1: and I capture you, the real you. I ain't got
- 53:52Speaker 1: time for the fake you. And I can watch this.
- 53:55Speaker 1: The guy has given her so much discernment. And Bridges
- 54:00Speaker 1: did a video about discernment. If y'all need to know
- 54:02Speaker 1: what discernment, look up Life Life with Brianca and she'll
- 54:06Speaker 1: teach you about discernment. But God will give you the
- 54:09Speaker 1: sermon that you need. And her discernment sticks out when
- 54:12Speaker 1: somebody's not being themselves, when they're being inauthorical, and she
- 54:15Speaker 1: can just be the mit you. She ain't gonna have
- 54:18Speaker 1: to be around you. I ain't seen nothing like it.
- 54:21Speaker 1: I have not seen anything like it, and so I'm
- 54:24Speaker 1: grateful for this podcast. People say I'm proud of you,
- 54:28Speaker 1: I'm proud of myself. Yeah that's big es I am.
- 54:32Speaker 1: I thank you for your proud but it's nothing like
- 54:35Speaker 1: me being proud of me. And because I know what
- 54:38Speaker 1: this entails. But if you're thinking about start a podcast
- 54:44Speaker 1: or you know, whatever you're thinking about starting, don't just
- 54:49Speaker 1: look for the money, because the money has to gradually came, right,
- 54:54Speaker 1: it's gonna gradually call. Look for the things that are pricing. Yeah,
- 55:01Speaker 1: look for the development. Look for being the best version
- 55:04Speaker 1: of yourself. And so I appreciate you even coming here
- 55:12Speaker 1: and lending your ear to this platform. If this resonated
- 55:17Speaker 1: with you, if you know somebody's trying to start a podcast,
- 55:19Speaker 1: I want you to send this out. That's where you
- 55:21Speaker 1: had something to say, No, this was a good episode.
- 55:24Speaker 1: Like I don't think I knew so before we were
- 55:28Speaker 1: part of the The only prep that we have when
- 55:31Speaker 1: we're together is she may send me what she may
- 55:33Speaker 1: think we talking about kind of thing. And you know,
- 55:36Speaker 1: so when I started, I was like, oh, okay, but
- 55:38Speaker 1: I really think it's important, like she said, even if
- 55:41Speaker 1: it's not a podcast per se, Like there is something
- 55:44Speaker 1: that that God has given you to go and you're
- 55:48Speaker 1: and for whatever reason, you're hesitating, right, but you just
- 55:52Speaker 1: have to start. He said, I'm in this process right now.
- 55:55Speaker 1: And somebody asked me what my plan was. I said,
- 55:57Speaker 1: I don't got no plan. The Lord didn't say go
- 56:00Speaker 1: and figure it out. He said, go and follow me.
- 56:02Speaker 1: He said, go and be obedient. And as we take
- 56:04Speaker 1: steps in faith, like the other pieces will come, like
- 56:08Speaker 1: your destiny helpers will come, the blueprint will come. But
- 56:11Speaker 1: you first have to make the step to say yes,
- 56:14Speaker 1: Lord and then move forward towards that thing. And so
- 56:17Speaker 1: I'm just grateful just to be here because I can
- 56:19Speaker 1: only see I've seen. I think we've only scratched the
- 56:25Speaker 1: tip of what God is really trying to do in
- 56:27Speaker 1: this space, in this media space, in this entertainment space,
- 56:30Speaker 1: because it is amount of influence, and He has called
- 56:33Speaker 1: us to dominate the earth in general. And if we
- 56:38Speaker 1: don't step into that, we can't complain about what we see.
- 56:42Speaker 1: That's so good, that is so good. So I'm gonna
- 56:48Speaker 1: do something that I really feel the Holy Spirit leading
- 56:50Speaker 1: me to. I'm gonna pray for y'all pray for us.
- 56:54Speaker 1: Right so, God, we thank you. We thank you for
- 56:57Speaker 1: the opportunity for one to acknowledge who you are. We
- 57:01Speaker 1: thank you for the opportunity just to be called your
- 57:05Speaker 1: sons and daughters of the Kingdom. God, we thank you
- 57:08Speaker 1: for the opportunity to speak well of you. And so, God,
- 57:11Speaker 1: in this moment, we ask that you continue to reveal
- 57:16Speaker 1: what you want from us. Thank you, Holy Spirit. Thank
- 57:19Speaker 1: you for allowing us to see how you see us.
- 57:22Speaker 1: And thank you, Lord God that as we go and
- 57:25Speaker 1: as we obey, that you reveal even the more to us. God,
- 57:29Speaker 1: specifically for people that are interested in the entertainment in
- 57:32Speaker 1: the mounts of entertainment, God, bless them. I thank you
- 57:36Speaker 1: right now, Lord God, that you're giving them the tools
- 57:38Speaker 1: that they need for not only for themselves, but for
- 57:41Speaker 1: the impact that they would bring. God, I thank you
- 57:44Speaker 1: for the tenacity. I thank you for the consistency. I
- 57:48Speaker 1: thank you, Lord God, that they see themselves as you see,
- 57:51Speaker 1: as you see them, because they deserve to be consistent
- 57:54Speaker 1: with themselves. First, I thank you right now, look God,
- 57:57Speaker 1: that they even thank you, Holy Spirit, they even start
- 58:00Speaker 1: to trust themselves what you have embedded into them. God,
- 58:03Speaker 1: I thank you, Lord God, that they start to trust
- 58:05Speaker 1: themselves so much that they invest in what they see,
- 58:10Speaker 1: that they invest time, they invest finances so they can
- 58:13Speaker 1: can grow and develop. God, I thank you that you're
- 58:16Speaker 1: allowing them to be in the proper place, around the
- 58:20Speaker 1: proper people, to build community, not just for themselves, God,
- 58:25Speaker 1: but to enhance the Kingdom. For we do nothing without you,
- 58:29Speaker 1: O God. And so God, I trust you. We trust
- 58:32Speaker 1: you with what you say about us. We trust you
- 58:34Speaker 1: with the activation of the voice, with the consistency, with
- 58:39Speaker 1: the confidence, with the influence God, with the community. God
- 58:43Speaker 1: is all by you. And so God, before we go anywhere,
- 58:46Speaker 1: before we do anything, before we press the record, but
- 58:49Speaker 1: before we activate the sound, we look to the heels
- 58:51Speaker 1: which cometh our help, and our help comes from You.
- 58:56Speaker 1: And so God, bless the platforms. God, bless the the
- 59:00Speaker 1: thought processes, Bless the planning and the execution. Bless the partnerships.
- 59:05Speaker 1: In the name of Jesus, and continue to have your
- 59:08Speaker 1: way in this space, in this realm of podcasting, in
- 59:13Speaker 1: this realm of community, in this realm of entertainment, in
- 59:16Speaker 1: this realm of impact and influence. And God, we trust you,
- 59:20Speaker 1: We honor you, We glorify you in Jesus' name. Amen.
