- 0:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited to share those with you in the coming days.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm thankful.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'm blessed for the opportunity
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: To connect with you and whether you're tuning in from the comfort of your home during your daily commute or wherever you may be your partnership with the gospel's sake through this radio broadcast and in using our tracks means the world to us.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'd like to ask you if you would to take a moment and consider using gospel tracks.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: We have about 40 different titles to choose from.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: And we also, maybe you're unaware, but if you attend a local church, I encourage you to do so the Bible talks much about the local church and its importance in the Christian's life.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_01]: If you'd like some customized tracks for your church, whether you're a pastor, maybe you'd like to let your pastor or
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: Leadership team know about this.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: We actually print customized gospel tracks as well.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: We don't talk about it all that much, but it's one of those deals where we have people ask us all the time.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: It makes me wonder if there are more people wondering.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: And so I encourage you on our website BibleTracksInc.org.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: We have all of our normal gospel tracks, plus numerous others, ones that wouldn't necessarily make it into regular circulation.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_01]: For instance, I wrote let's see about a month or two ago a gospel track for people to use when they go to the gym.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's titled something along the lines of eternal fitness or beyond the gym finding eternal fitness and how to make sure yes, I'm glad you're taking care of your body here on earth.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: But you also need to take care of your eternity as well.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll talk more about that one.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I'll even mention on the radio and read a little bit of it in the coming days.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: That encourage you if you would if you'd like customized tracks for yourself personally for your church.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: Go to bibletracksink.org.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: You may recall that our gospel tracks are free as the Lord provides.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: Now custom tracks what we do with them they obviously cost a lot more to produce.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: Our gospel tracks when you order them in a million.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: or a 250,000 or something like that when we print them in that large quantity, the price per piece comes down substantially, even to print them in 10,000.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: The price per piece is much different, and if you are printing a smaller quantity, and so because of the design work that goes into them, the additional employee time, it's different from our norm, we do charge a little bit for the custom tracks now,
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: free gospel tracks and we don't plan on changing that any time soon and so you can always go to bibletracksink.org.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_01]: You can see our free gospel tracks but we also have custom tracks as well and if those can be helped to you please don't hesitate to reach out to us bibletracksink.org.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: I realize all this week I have not mentioned to you that you can actually get ahold of me directly.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: We have so many folks that do so.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: You can text me at three.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: 0 9 3 1 6 7 2 4 0 again that number if you'd like to get a hold of me for any reason if you have questions about custom tracks If you have questions about what we do at BTI who we are who I am I'd love to speak to you Let me give that number one more time grab a paper pen.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe open up your phone.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: Let me give that number right now.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: You're listening
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's 3, 0, 9, 3, 1, 6, 7, 2, 4, 0, 1 more time, 3, 0, 9, 3, 1, 6, 7, 2, 4, 0.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_01]: Now let's get into today's study if we can.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: Go to Joshua chapter number 7.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: Joshua chapter number 7.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: We've looked this week at this concept or this problem of some of the biggest mistakes, biggest spiritual mistakes that you can make.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: And I told you yesterday, I would share a little bit of my background.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: I grew up in a military home, had the opportunity to be an army brat.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: My dad was in the army for 20 something years and we greatly enjoyed that.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: But I left home to go to Bible College and I was out there in the Santa Clara Santa
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: of California and I had wrecked my car.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: It was a, this was not the mistake I wanted to tell you about, but it was an additional mistake.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: We'll call it two for one the day.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: I had wrecked my car, not a good day.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: I was on my way to work, and we don't have time to get into that, but I need to replace my car.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: And so you realize oftentimes in place like California or in Florida different places, but especially in California because the cost of living, because most of the cars that were sold there didn't have rust and different things,
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: Oftentimes, there was kind of a California search charge, meaning that they just cost more.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: And if you are living in California, listening right now, you can attest to this or tell me if I'm wrong.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: When I was looking for a car, this was back in, oh, this would have been the 2000s.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: It feels like so long ago, right?
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: 2008, 2009, thereabouts.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: I needed a vehicle and I was looking and I was looking on this place called Craigslist.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it was 2010.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: It was 2010-2011.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: Thereabouts.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: I was looking on this place called Craigslist.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't heard of it.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: I know Facebook Marketplace is maybe pushed them out of the market a little bit.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: But we were looking.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I was wise enough to send my dad potential options.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: So hey Dad, what do you think of this?
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about something on Tuesday of the broadcast, but ignoring God, ignoring your Heavenly Father.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: Where I was smart enough not to ignore my earthly Father in this, and I found a car.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: I was a red, Pontiac, grand-damn.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: Long story short, it ended up being a problem.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: It was listed a little bit lower than it should have been.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it was like 2500 bucks it was listed for it should have been a California at the time for whatever year it was It should have been more like 3500 bucks But there weren't any other markers about it that made it seem like a scam and so I showed to my dad He said it seems like a really good deal I mean 2500 bucks would have been what I expected or he expected to pay in Kansas where my parents lived But it was a little bit light for California and it was one of those deals where it's if it's a good deal You want to jump on immediately
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: I already had money taken out out of the bank cash in hand, I wanted to be a cheap car, and I messaged the guy.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: Can I come look at it, can I potentially come buy it?
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he wanted to meet in a grocery store parking lot in Oakland.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: Well, some of the stereotypes, some not all, but some of the stereotypes about Oakland are there for a reason.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I actually interned at a church in Oakland for about a year, a year and a half.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm intimately familiar with that area.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: And long story short, because my work schedule, I was working second shift going to school in the morning.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I wanted to meet him.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to buy this car.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: And so I said yes.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: Now at the time, I had not interned yet.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: No, I didn't know what I was walking into.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: And I took a car guy with me, a friend of mine.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: It was a Boba College, took a guy that knew he knew cars that took him with me, and met the guy I even talked him down, 2200 bucks or something.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: Car seemed to find, you know, a picture of a type thing needs a little bit here and there.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: long story short, I go to the DMV.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: This was maybe an old Thursday Friday or I go to the DMV on Monday and I find out through a long process that the gentleman, the two guys, that sold me this car, would not the legitimate owners of this car.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: Now I did not know this.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: When I bought it, I'm a young dumb college student.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: I had no clue.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: Long story short, the car ended up not being their car.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: I tried to find the original the real owner of the vehicle and this whole rig and roll and let me tell you a California DMVs at least in 2010-2011.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: They took forever.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: You could make an appointment and still wait an hour and a half.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: It was a mess.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_01]: regardless though.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: I finally finally had this car in my name got a hold of the original set certified letters all this type of stuff and of course lesson six weeks later at the engine goes go go go go go go go go go go go go go go go go and dies and so it cost me more than it cost than then it was worth even by the car the first place and so I look back at that saying that's a that was a dumb thing to do Mike I don't buy cars from shady people in an Oakland you know part of grocery store parking a lot
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: With drug deals going on around the back of you that's not the place.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I understand that But I realized this for the thought that I had peace with almost immediately after this happened was I much rather Make a mistake like that With a $2,500 car Then I would with a $25,000 car I'd much rather make a mistake like that and I would with my life would much rather make a mistake like that And I would with my marriage or with my children
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: That sort of financial mistake, if you want to call it that, the scope of that mistake, the issues it caused my life were far less than what a spiritual mistake could cost me.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: My desire this week, we've talked about ignoring God.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: We've talked about irritating God, and we're going to get a Joshua chapter 2 over Joshua chapter 7, verse 2, and Joshua sent a man from Jericho to AI, which is beside Beth Haven, on the east side of Bethill, and spaken to them saying, go up and view the country, and the men went up and viewed AI, and they returned to Joshua and sent him, let not all the people go up, but let about 2 or 3,000 men go up and smite AI, and make not all the people to labor of the other, for they are but few.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: Now this, you can make them case as a mistake on Joshua's part and these advisors, but long story short 30 something men die in this assault on AI, but it was not all Joshua's fault.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: There was a reason that God's people were impeded in their work.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: They were slow or stymied or strangled in their ability to continue in their conquest of Canaan.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: and it goes back to a man named Aiken and something he took that wasn't his.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: Look at verses 20 and 21 and Aiken answered Joshua and said, indeed, I have sinned against the Lord God of Israel and thus and thus have I done when I saw among the spoils we're going back to Jericho.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: We're going back to when God's people walked around Jericho and conquered it.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: He said when I saw him on the spoils, a goodly Babylonish garment and 200 Czechos of silver and a wedge of gold, a 50 Czechos weight, then I coveted them and took them and behold they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent and the silver under it.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: The children of Israel had just experienced a massive victory at Jericho, but Aiken's sin caused a devastating defeat at AI.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: Because of his disobedience, the 36 men lost their lives and Israel was put
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: to shame but realize this achens actions not only brought suffering upon himself but also impeded the entire nation of Israel from moving forward in God's plan.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to think about the fact that achens sin didn't just cause him grief, it caused problems for a lot of families.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: 36 families had people that didn't come home.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: Men that did not come home because of aches Air because of what aching did Men died.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: I ask your friend.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: Are your spiritual stakes going to hurt others?
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: I would sure hope not.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: Now tomorrow on a broadcast We're gonna talk about the dangers
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: of indecision when it comes to making some of these choices to get back right with God.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: Now maybe you're ignoring God today, maybe you are irritating God, maybe you are impeding God, and maybe you're stuck in a place of indecision, you say,
- 12:25[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to let go of my sin.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to let go of what I want to do, friend.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: I counsel you don't be indecisive.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to talk about that tomorrow on Bible.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: Tract.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: Echoes, thank you so much for listening in my prayer as always.
