- 0:15Speaker 2: of public service stuff.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Rich Valdez columnists now with the Washington Times.
- 0:18Speaker 4: This is America, ritchiev.
- 0:20Speaker 5: You're on the air with the Nation of the Nation
- 0:23Speaker 5: with America.
- 0:24Speaker 4: With your host, Rich Valdez.
- 0:27Speaker 3: What's up, America. I am Rich Valdez, Valdezza with an
- 0:30Speaker 3: us A Rich Valdez on all of the social media.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Honored and blessed to be here with each and every
- 0:36Speaker 3: one of you, seventeen blocks from Madison Square Garden here
- 0:39Speaker 3: in New York City at our Times Square Studios. It
- 0:42Speaker 3: is good Friday, and lots to discuss, some good, some
- 0:46Speaker 3: not so good. We're getting reports of an F fifteen
- 0:49Speaker 3: that has crashed. It is down. The pilots are being rescued.
- 0:55Speaker 3: I understand we may have already retrieved one of the two.
- 1:00Speaker 3: One is still on the loose, if you will, you know,
- 1:04Speaker 3: missing Mia and lots to discuss. We're going to get
- 1:07Speaker 3: to a report on that right now from the Fox News.
- 1:11Speaker 6: Channel, Britney News coming into Fox News Channel. The President
- 1:14Speaker 6: has now been briefed on a down to F fifteen
- 1:17Speaker 6: fighter jet in Iran.
- 1:19Speaker 5: This is a US fighter jet.
- 1:20Speaker 6: We are also told a statement from Sencom is expected shortly.
- 1:25Speaker 6: We want to bring in the Chief National Security correspondent,
- 1:28Speaker 6: Jennifer Griffin with more on this.
- 1:29Speaker 5: Jen what are you hearing well?
- 1:31Speaker 7: Trace, We had some details of this alleged down F
- 1:36Speaker 7: fifteen E fighter jet that went down in southwest Iran.
- 1:39Speaker 7: It's in the province that is actually closest to carg Island,
- 1:43Speaker 7: which we've been hearing so much about. We had withheld
- 1:47Speaker 7: reporting on this until now because there was an active
- 1:50Speaker 7: search and rescue operation ongoing. But now that we've learned
- 1:54Speaker 7: that the President has been briefed on the down to
- 1:57Speaker 7: F fifteen, we are getting some details from open source
- 2:02Speaker 7: online showing that the actual pilot seat from the F
- 2:07Speaker 7: fifteen was seen on the ground, suggesting that the at
- 2:11Speaker 7: least one of the pilots had ejected and the pilot
- 2:16Speaker 7: was not present at that site where the photo was taken,
- 2:19Speaker 7: so that suggests that one may have survived. At least
- 2:24Speaker 7: there are two pilots and an F fifteen E, and
- 2:27Speaker 7: they would have been flying. We see also some open
- 2:30Speaker 7: source video showing that there were two search and rescue
- 2:35Speaker 7: helicopters that were being refueled mid air in daylight. That
- 2:38Speaker 7: would suggest again an urgency to that search and rescue mission,
- 2:43Speaker 7: because it would be rare to conduct a search and
- 2:46Speaker 7: rescue mission with low flying helicopters over an area that
- 2:50Speaker 7: is possibly contested. Given that this happened during the daylight hours,
- 2:55Speaker 7: it shows an urgency and a suggestion that some of
- 2:58Speaker 7: the pilots may have served.
- 3:00Speaker 3: So that report from the Fox News channel. And interestingly,
- 3:04Speaker 3: there's a lot of conflicting information about this about when
- 3:08Speaker 3: the plane was struck, was it refueling, was it just
- 3:12Speaker 3: hit by the Iranians. A lot of questions abound on
- 3:15Speaker 3: this topic, and I'm reaching out to my peeps out
- 3:18Speaker 3: there that have flown these types of planes asking all
- 3:21Speaker 3: the questions, and as I get that information, I'll bring
- 3:23Speaker 3: it to you. The United States saying they do have
- 3:27Speaker 3: one person that they've just found discovered, you know, ejected
- 3:32Speaker 3: safely in another person that is still out there. And again,
- 3:36Speaker 3: in the fog of war, you don't know what to believe,
- 3:38Speaker 3: what's real, what's not. It's always a good practice to
- 3:42Speaker 3: question everything you hear, especially during a time of conflict,
- 3:45Speaker 3: because ultimately you can't really telegraph what you're doing to
- 3:48Speaker 3: the enemy. So every time Trump says this is happening,
- 3:52Speaker 3: and that's happening, and it's you know, it's about to happen,
- 3:55Speaker 3: it's in the future, you have to ask yourself, is
- 3:58Speaker 3: that really happening or is he trying to throw off
- 4:01Speaker 3: the scent of what's happening or what he's about to do.
- 4:04Speaker 3: So that's as much as I've got on that. Now,
- 4:08Speaker 3: this to me underscores exactly why it's so important to
- 4:17Speaker 3: be where we are right to actually be engaged in
- 4:19Speaker 3: this conflict. And I know a lot of people out
- 4:20Speaker 3: there saying, oh, screw Trump, we're fighting Israel's war. I
- 4:24Speaker 3: see it completely differently. In the twenty twenty two years,
- 4:28Speaker 3: I would say that I have been observing politics. I
- 4:31Speaker 3: can tell you that I've always seen Israel to be
- 4:34Speaker 3: not only an ally, but really our henchmen in the
- 4:39Speaker 3: Middle East. Right, they do the dirty work. They have
- 4:41Speaker 3: an incredible intelligence operation in the Mosad, and they get
- 4:46Speaker 3: things done. I mean, don't forget these are the same
- 4:48Speaker 3: people that we're able to explode the pagers and walkie
- 4:52Speaker 3: talkies of the Hamas people or has a lot. This
- 4:57Speaker 3: is an amazing fee, if you will, when you look
- 5:02Speaker 3: at exactly how they pulled that off. So again, I
- 5:07Speaker 3: think people haven't misunderstood. United States is bigger and stronger
- 5:12Speaker 3: than Israel. The United States is clearly clearly in the
- 5:18Speaker 3: driver's seat on these issues. We don't lobby Israel. Israel
- 5:22Speaker 3: lobbies US. So when people say, well because of a pack,
- 5:25Speaker 3: but get that right. They're paying people to influence congress
- 5:28Speaker 3: people in another country. If they were in charge, they
- 5:32Speaker 3: wouldn't be lobbying us. We'd be lobbying them because they'd
- 5:34Speaker 3: be holding the cards. They'd have all the power, And
- 5:37Speaker 3: clearly they don't. And I'm not trying to put them down.
- 5:40Speaker 3: I'm just trying to put down this false assertion that
- 5:43Speaker 3: somehow and Yahoo is in charge of the globe and
- 5:46Speaker 3: that President Trump is subservient to Israel. Couldn't be further
- 5:51Speaker 3: from the truth. Marco Rubio explains exactly what's going on
- 5:56Speaker 3: with these nukes with Tehran and why we have to
- 5:58Speaker 3: get rid of these radical extremists that run Iran.
- 6:03Speaker 8: Many Americans are asking why did the United States have
- 6:06Speaker 8: to attack Iran? Now, well, let me explain Iran wants
- 6:10Speaker 8: to have nuclear weapons. Of that there is zero doubt.
- 6:13Speaker 8: If what they truly wanted, which is what they claim
- 6:15Speaker 8: is nuclear energy, well they could have nuclear energy like
- 6:18Speaker 8: all the other countries in the world have it, and
- 6:19Speaker 8: that is you import the fuel and you build reactors
- 6:22Speaker 8: above ground. That's not what Iran has done. They build
- 6:26Speaker 8: their reactors and their facilities deep in mountains, away from
- 6:30Speaker 8: the public glare, and they want to enrich that material.
- 6:33Speaker 8: The same equipment that they could use to enrich material
- 6:35Speaker 8: for energy, they could use to quickly enrich it to
- 6:38Speaker 8: weapons grade. So it is clear that they've been offered
- 6:41Speaker 8: every opportunity to have a nuclear program that allows them
- 6:45Speaker 8: to have energy, not weapons, and every single time they
- 6:48Speaker 8: have turned it down. But why the attack, Now, Well,
- 6:51Speaker 8: what was Iran trying to do. Iran was trying to
- 6:54Speaker 8: build a conventional shield in essence, have so many missiles,
- 6:57Speaker 8: have so many drones that no one can attack them.
- 7:00Speaker 8: And they were well on their way. We were on
- 7:02Speaker 8: the verge of an Iran that had so many missiles
- 7:04Speaker 8: and so many drones that no one could do anything
- 7:07Speaker 8: about their nuclear weapons program in the future. That was
- 7:10Speaker 8: an intolerable risk. Under no circumstances can a country run
- 7:14Speaker 8: by radical Shiah clerics with an apocalyptic vision of the
- 7:17Speaker 8: future ever possess nuclear weapons, And under no circumstances can
- 7:21Speaker 8: they be allowed to hide and protect that program and
- 7:24Speaker 8: their ambitions behind a shield of missiles and drones that
- 7:28Speaker 8: no one can do anything about. This was our last
- 7:31Speaker 8: best chance to eliminate that conventional threat, that conventional shield
- 7:35Speaker 8: that they were trying to build, and the President made
- 7:37Speaker 8: the right decision to wipe it out. Now that is
- 7:40Speaker 8: the goal of this operation, to destroy their conventional missiles
- 7:43Speaker 8: and their drone program so they can't hide behind it
- 7:46Speaker 8: and finally have to deal with the world seriously about
- 7:49Speaker 8: never ever having nuclear weapons.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Secretary of State Marco Rubio nailing it right there. I
- 7:55Speaker 3: think he's got it one hundred percent right. That's why
- 7:58Speaker 3: this is so important. That's what's on the line. Again,
- 8:00Speaker 3: it's Good Friday, and I'm gonna do something I don't
- 8:04Speaker 3: normally do. Every now and again, I'll play a flashback
- 8:06Speaker 3: interview of something I did, but usually not the immediate previous.
- 8:10Speaker 3: But last Good Friday, I did an interview with Pastor
- 8:12Speaker 3: Anthony Fleming, who's the pastor of my church, Transformed Church
- 8:15Speaker 3: in Jersey, and I really enjoyed it and I want
- 8:18Speaker 3: to replay it. I'll do that a little bit later.
- 8:20Speaker 3: I'll bring an excerpt of that, and just giving your
- 8:22Speaker 3: heads up on that. But I also want to talk
- 8:23Speaker 3: about a number of other things. One of the other
- 8:25Speaker 3: things I want to talk about is this story that
- 8:29Speaker 3: I saw in the New York Post, which is about,
- 8:31Speaker 3: of all things, interestingly enough, it's about poison. I think
- 8:35Speaker 3: you're gonna really be surprised by this one. Definitely not
- 8:38Speaker 3: good Friday material, but I will bring that over to
- 8:42Speaker 3: you as well. Plus I have a Easter Holy Week
- 8:45Speaker 3: message from President Trump that I want to play as well.
- 8:48Speaker 3: So keep it locked right here, folks. I am Rich Valdez.
- 8:50Speaker 3: We are just getting started. Eight seven seven Valdez one
- 8:53Speaker 3: is the phone number, eight seven seven Valdez one. Don't
- 8:57Speaker 3: move a muscle.
- 8:58Speaker 4: This is America. This is America. He's brown, he's bald,
- 9:13Speaker 4: and he's breaking it down.
- 9:15Speaker 9: Oh he still had some what's his.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Day, Rich Veldez?
- 9:19Speaker 4: All right?
- 9:19Speaker 3: Ever, mean goes, Welcome back, Rich valdeesk keeping your company
- 9:23Speaker 3: this good Friday. And I want to get into the
- 9:27Speaker 3: jobs report I saw a clip of CNN and the
- 9:30Speaker 3: folks at CNN, who President Trupple likes to call the
- 9:33Speaker 3: fake news CNN fake news, they had a moment of
- 9:37Speaker 3: real news, at least a moment of friendliness toward him,
- 9:41Speaker 3: where they were talking about the latest jobs report numbers,
- 9:45Speaker 3: saying that they came in higher than expectation. With the report,
- 9:49Speaker 3: apparently sixty thousand jobs were forecast and one hundred and
- 9:55Speaker 3: seventy eight thousand jobs is what was reported. Check this out.
- 9:58Speaker 3: I think the expectation was what sixty thousand jobs and
- 10:01Speaker 3: it's one seventy eight. Wow.
- 10:03Speaker 10: Yeah, Look, the job market bounced back in a big
- 10:06Speaker 10: way in March, and that is good news.
- 10:09Speaker 9: Really blowing away expectations.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Blowing away expectations is right. And again this is with
- 10:16Speaker 3: the presumption that these numbers won't be adjusted downward, which
- 10:19Speaker 3: has been a trend coming from Washington, bipartisan trend for
- 10:24Speaker 3: you know, for as long as we've had jobs reports,
- 10:26Speaker 3: and most famously Biden, right, Biden really doing a number
- 10:30Speaker 3: on you know, saying oh, we got this many jobs,
- 10:33Speaker 3: and then the following went, oh, well we didn't really
- 10:34Speaker 3: have so many, and all sorts of you know, crazy
- 10:37Speaker 3: adjustments coming up. But American workers wage gains slowed down
- 10:42Speaker 3: a little bit in March despite the strong hiring. That's
- 10:45Speaker 3: according to some of the economists, and this is being
- 10:48Speaker 3: reported in Fox Business Hourly Earnings. The average hourly earnings
- 10:53Speaker 3: rose two tenths of a percent over the month of
- 10:57Speaker 3: March and three point five percent annually, which were lower
- 11:01Speaker 3: than some economists were forecasting according to this piece. Now,
- 11:06Speaker 3: Thevieeru of Labor Statistics on Friday releasing their March Jobs report,
- 11:11Speaker 3: which is what we've been talking about, showing that the
- 11:14Speaker 3: US economy added one hundred and seventy eight thousand jobs
- 11:17Speaker 3: for the month of March, with obviously a huge upside
- 11:21Speaker 3: because the economists were pulled by the firm LSEG and
- 11:25Speaker 3: they anticipated only sixty thousand jobs. So that's good news,
- 11:31Speaker 3: right for trumpito for the United States, presuming all holds well.
- 11:35Speaker 3: In the following report, the report also found at the
- 11:38Speaker 3: average earnings, like I told you, didn't increase the way
- 11:41Speaker 3: they wanted to. These readings represent a little bit of
- 11:44Speaker 3: a slow down in wage growth from the figures that
- 11:47Speaker 3: were reported in February, when wages were up four tenths
- 11:51Speaker 3: of a percentage point from the previous month and three
- 11:54Speaker 3: point eight percent year over year. Additionally, the report found
- 11:58Speaker 3: that the average work week was shorter than expected, at
- 12:01Speaker 3: thirty four point two hours, below the thirty four point
- 12:04Speaker 3: three reading that it had in February. Economists again saying
- 12:10Speaker 3: that this is, you know, more of what they expected
- 12:13Speaker 3: would happen. These guys are banking on America to fail. Sadly,
- 12:17Speaker 3: the average hour pay for private sector employees was thirty
- 12:23Speaker 3: seven dollars and thirty eight cents in March, up from
- 12:27Speaker 3: thirty seven dollars and twenty nine cents in February, and
- 12:32Speaker 3: it was thirty six dollars and eleven cents in March.
- 12:35Speaker 3: So that's what they're talking about right there. Anyway, I'm
- 12:40Speaker 3: going to get into this, you know, because reading the
- 12:43Speaker 3: numbers doesn't really do it. You really got to have
- 12:44Speaker 3: a conversation with somebody who can put it into context.
- 12:47Speaker 3: So I'm going to recommend we reach out to our
- 12:49Speaker 3: resident economist EJ and Tony Jantoni, who actually was nominated
- 12:55Speaker 3: by President Trump to be the Director of the Bureau
- 12:57Speaker 3: of Labor Statistics until he withdrew his nomination, to continue
- 13:01Speaker 3: his very important work at the Heritage Foundation. So let's
- 13:04Speaker 3: reach out to EJ and TONI and see if we
- 13:06Speaker 3: can get him on for Monday or Tuesday. And I
- 13:09Speaker 3: want to continue our discussion here because there's a lot
- 13:14Speaker 3: to discuss, I think, right, I think there's plenty to discuss.
- 13:18Speaker 3: There was this in addition to the poisoning story, which
- 13:22Speaker 3: I'm going to do in a moment, there was also
- 13:24Speaker 3: all right, well that's that. All right, So I'll pause
- 13:27Speaker 3: right here, We'll make that a short segment, and we'll
- 13:30Speaker 3: come right back and we will talk about some of
- 13:32Speaker 3: this poisoning stuff before we get into our flashback conversation
- 13:35Speaker 3: with that pastor Anthony Fleming. Don't go anywhere.
- 13:38Speaker 4: This is America. This is America.
- 13:58Speaker 3: President Donald takes rough. Mister President, welcome to the program Sert.
- 14:01Speaker 11: Well, thank you, Rich, and thank you for everything.
- 14:04Speaker 12: I know you very well, and I have.
- 14:05Speaker 11: I listened, but I have a lot of people that
- 14:08Speaker 11: listen and they love your show, and I appreciate it
- 14:10Speaker 11: very much.
- 14:12Speaker 3: All right, I mean, he goes, welcome back, Rich Valdez,
- 14:14Speaker 3: keeping your company here on this good Friday. And I
- 14:17Speaker 3: want to get into this poisoning stuff, right I've been
- 14:21Speaker 3: talking about it for a minute. It fascinates me. Right,
- 14:24Speaker 3: imagine if you have a problem with someone that you
- 14:27Speaker 3: care about, someone that means a lot to you, someone
- 14:31Speaker 3: that you can't stand, right, or all three right, somebody
- 14:34Speaker 3: that you love and somebody can't stand and you all
- 14:36Speaker 3: live together.
- 14:37Speaker 9: Right.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Let's say a married couple and a roommate, or the
- 14:40Speaker 3: married couple take exception and umbridge with one another, and
- 14:43Speaker 3: now they want to off the other person by poisoning them.
- 14:47Speaker 3: This is the latest thing I've been seeing now. The
- 14:50Speaker 3: first case I saw was a couple of years ago,
- 14:52Speaker 3: more than a couple, probably about eight years ago, and
- 14:54Speaker 3: I think it went to trial in twenty twenty one.
- 14:57Speaker 3: But just last week and last month there were cases
- 15:01Speaker 3: just like these, And let me tell you, they boggle
- 15:04Speaker 3: the mind. Right. I could never imagine somebody being so
- 15:09Speaker 3: hell bent on I don't know, getting rid of somebody
- 15:12Speaker 3: that they would poison them. But listen to this. This
- 15:16Speaker 3: is from ABC News, just a couple of weeks ago.
- 15:20Speaker 12: Well, concerning warning for couples.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Now.
- 15:21Speaker 12: A new DHS intelligence note obtained by ABC News shows
- 15:24Speaker 12: domestic partners are increasingly using chemical and biological toxins to
- 15:29Speaker 12: kill their partners. The data finding that people intend on
- 15:33Speaker 12: harming or killing their partners are turning to poisons like cyanide,
- 15:37Speaker 12: often sourced from online black markets or made at home.
- 15:41Speaker 12: The document highlighting the case of a Colorado dentist convicted
- 15:44Speaker 12: of first degree murder after gradually poisoning his wife's protein shakes.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Hold on a second, so let me get it straight.
- 15:51Speaker 3: That's exactly what I thought it was. I'm not feeling
- 15:53Speaker 3: shorty no more. I don't like you anymore. I am
- 15:55Speaker 3: going to poison you like this dentist. This crazy dentist
- 15:58Speaker 3: poisoned his wife. Let me go to whatever whatever dot
- 16:02Speaker 3: com and pay for express delivery to get my cyanide?
- 16:06Speaker 3: Are you kidding me? This is so wild? Yeahead, let
- 16:08Speaker 3: it play.
- 16:09Speaker 12: Speaking our chief investigative course bind Aaron Kntursky. He's been
- 16:12Speaker 12: following this for so clearly the trend is so alarming,
- 16:15Speaker 12: DHS had to issue a warning.
- 16:17Speaker 9: So what's going on erin, which is.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Pretty astounding, Kira when you think about it. But they
- 16:22Speaker 2: have seen increasing numbers of cases where a husband or
- 16:26Speaker 2: wife or other domestic partner is turning to these poisons.
- 16:30Speaker 2: In large part, the authorities think because they can often
- 16:34Speaker 2: mimic natural deaths. Sometimes they can conceal themselves, and sometimes
- 16:40Speaker 2: they are slow to release, so the death can occur gradually,
- 16:44Speaker 2: and you might not pinpoint an exact cause. Perhaps they're
- 16:48Speaker 2: hoping to get away with it in that way.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Obviously they're hoping to get away with it. That's why
- 16:52Speaker 3: they're using killmypartner dot com and express delivery to do it.
- 16:57Speaker 2: But these substances have been increasingly turned to by domestic partners,
- 17:01Speaker 2: the authorities say, and so much so that the Department
- 17:05Speaker 2: of Homeland Security is now warning law enforcement to be
- 17:09Speaker 2: on the lookout for these black market chemicals and when
- 17:12Speaker 2: they respond to domestic situations, to understand that these poisons
- 17:17Speaker 2: may be present.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Man, now that wasn't the only case of this type
- 17:22Speaker 3: of thing happening. That was just a few days ago.
- 17:24Speaker 3: You also had just a few weeks ago this case
- 17:27Speaker 3: out of I forget where it is. But let me
- 17:31Speaker 3: tell you about the roommates, right, a married couple that
- 17:34Speaker 3: had an extra room and they rented it to somebody,
- 17:36Speaker 3: and they catch this guy on a nanny cam. He's
- 17:39Speaker 3: on some sort of you know, recording with a hazmat suit,
- 17:44Speaker 3: spray and all sorts of crazy stuff. This one you
- 17:47Speaker 3: can't miss and you've probably seen this already, but just
- 17:49Speaker 3: in case, here's a refresher.
- 17:53Speaker 5: This morning shocking footage inside a California home. A couple
- 17:57Speaker 5: says this is their roommate in a gas mask covering
- 18:00Speaker 5: their food, kitchen and pantry with insect poison. This has
- 18:04Speaker 5: been a nightmare, total nightmare. Billy Hopper and her husband
- 18:08Speaker 5: David say they've had repeated problems with their roommate, forty
- 18:12Speaker 5: two year old Timothy Bradbury. They installed security cameras inside
- 18:16Speaker 5: their Santa Clarita house after they say their clothes were
- 18:19Speaker 5: cut up, their property destroyed, and their food was thrown away.
- 18:23Speaker 5: But recently they started having serious health issues. I've been
- 18:26Speaker 5: so sick this past year that i haven't been able hardly.
- 18:28Speaker 4: Do anything because of this guy.
- 18:31Speaker 2: My husband's been sick.
- 18:32Speaker 5: We were both in the er within the last two weeks.
- 18:36Speaker 5: They say. Their doctors suggested they might have been poisoned.
- 18:39Speaker 5: They checked out the footage from the cameras and this
- 18:42Speaker 5: is what they saw, covering everything from their groceries to
- 18:45Speaker 5: the coffee pot they used daily.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Again, just to reiterate what he's saying, this dude is
- 18:51Speaker 3: spraying the kitchen as if he was repainting their kitchen
- 18:55Speaker 3: cabinets and refinishing all of their food. They had dishes
- 18:59Speaker 3: in a dish drainer to the sink. He's spraying those two.
- 19:02Speaker 3: I mean, he spray and everything with what looks like
- 19:05Speaker 3: like roach poisoner, one of those things to kill flies.
- 19:09Speaker 4: It's infuriating it.
- 19:10Speaker 13: It's really heartbreaking too to see somebody who's has mental
- 19:12Speaker 13: health problems doing something like that.
- 19:15Speaker 5: They called the authorities and the Santa Clarita Sheriff's office
- 19:18Speaker 5: is when they made contact with Bradbury. He barricaded himself
- 19:21Speaker 5: inside and it took two hours before he eventually surrendered.
- 19:25Speaker 5: Investigators say family members told them Bradbury has a mental disability.
- 19:31Speaker 5: He was arrested for attempted poisoning, but he's already been released.
- 19:36Speaker 5: Who's the hoppers learned while speaking with us.
- 19:39Speaker 11: I just wonder if they're going to make him stay away.
- 19:42Speaker 11: I just wonder if we're going to have to be
- 19:43Speaker 11: back being scared to death again or not.
- 19:45Speaker 7: That's that's what I worry about.
- 19:47Speaker 4: Yeah, that's my fear.
- 19:49Speaker 9: We had no idea.
- 19:50Speaker 4: We thought we didn't know. We thought they really at
- 19:53Speaker 4: least keep him for a little bit.
- 19:55Speaker 9: Now.
- 19:56Speaker 5: We tried to contact Bradbury's attorney, but we did not
- 19:58Speaker 5: hear back. The DA will now consider charges, and that
- 20:01Speaker 5: includes a potential FELONYC count of attempted poisoning.
- 20:05Speaker 3: You know, attempted poisoning. What did you think this guy's
- 20:09Speaker 3: goal was to give him a stomach ache for them
- 20:12Speaker 3: to become a little bit ill or was he trying
- 20:14Speaker 3: to kill these people? And I guess that's what they're
- 20:17Speaker 3: going to have to try and prove. But if I
- 20:18Speaker 3: were those people, I'd feel exactly like they do. I'd think, man,
- 20:21Speaker 3: this guy tried to kill me. This guy was trying
- 20:23Speaker 3: to you know that stuff kills bugs and whatnot, and
- 20:26Speaker 3: he was putting it in Candidad right in large quantity,
- 20:30Speaker 3: all over their stuff. So forgive me for being skeptical
- 20:34Speaker 3: that I don't want to see this guy. California is
- 20:37Speaker 3: a wild, wild place now, just to put a cap
- 20:41Speaker 3: on this, this reminds me of a case that occurred,
- 20:44Speaker 3: like I said, about six seven, eight years ago and
- 20:46Speaker 3: went to trial I think in twenty twenty one, but
- 20:49Speaker 3: eerily similar and just wild stuff that happens. Listen to
- 20:54Speaker 3: this one more report and you'll start to think, Man,
- 20:56Speaker 3: there really is a theme in these things. Check this out.
- 21:00Speaker 14: Wild former student at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania is under
- 21:04Speaker 14: arrest tonight, accused of slowly poisoning his roommate by lacing
- 21:08Speaker 14: his milk and his mouthwash with a dangerous chemical. The
- 21:11Speaker 14: two had been roommates for years, the victims saying he
- 21:14Speaker 14: thought they were friends, but the poisoning isn't the only
- 21:17Speaker 14: charge the suspect is now facing.
- 21:19Speaker 9: Here's ABC's Alex Pereess, a.
- 21:21Speaker 13: Lehigh University student, is behind bars tonight after police say
- 21:24Speaker 13: he had been trying to kill his roommate for several months.
- 21:28Speaker 13: Prosecutor say twenty two year old Yukai Yang from China
- 21:32Speaker 13: faces as several charges, including attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
- 21:37Speaker 13: Authority say the chemistry major carried out the attempted murder
- 21:40Speaker 13: plot inside his storm, slowly and discreetly putting a poisonous
- 21:45Speaker 13: metal known as thallium and possibly other chemicals in his
- 21:48Speaker 13: roommate Juwan Royal's milk and mouthwash.
- 21:51Speaker 15: Mister Royle experienced extreme pain in his lower extremities, as
- 21:55Speaker 15: well as severe burning and numbness.
- 21:57Speaker 13: Royal, who had been roommates with Yang for several years
- 22:00Speaker 13: and thought they were friends. First reported his symptoms to
- 22:04Speaker 13: police back in March, dizziness, shaking, and vomiting. That's when
- 22:08Speaker 13: his blood tested positive for thallium. Back in April, Yang
- 22:12Speaker 13: was arrested and released on bail for damaging Royal's television
- 22:16Speaker 13: bed and desk and writing enward, get out of here
- 22:20Speaker 13: in black marker Tom. According to police, Yang told them
- 22:23Speaker 13: he bought the poisonous chemical but plan to use it
- 22:26Speaker 13: on himself if he didn't do well on exam's. Royal
- 22:30Speaker 13: is said to be recovering but still suffering from side effects.
- 22:34Speaker 3: That is wild. Okay, So I wasn't trying to kill
- 22:36Speaker 3: those guys. I was trying to kill myself. Bravo, Sierra bs.
- 22:42Speaker 3: I don't buy it, not even a little bit. Again,
- 22:44Speaker 3: this guy ended up getting in all sorts of trouble.
- 22:46Speaker 3: This is an old clip from several years ago. This
- 22:49Speaker 3: went to trial back in twenty twenty one. But I
- 22:51Speaker 3: just wanted you to hear the case. Similar Again, roommates
- 22:55Speaker 3: don't like each other. Next thing you know, they're trying
- 22:57Speaker 3: to poison you. That is crazy stuff and nobody, nobody
- 23:03Speaker 3: should sleep on that you've got to be real careful
- 23:06Speaker 3: about the people that you're around. And sadly, in all
- 23:09Speaker 3: of these cases, every last one of them, it was
- 23:12Speaker 3: the person that they lived with. That's a shame. Anyway,
- 23:15Speaker 3: I want to leave you with some positive thoughts before
- 23:18Speaker 3: we get into our Flashback Friday interview with Pastor Anthony
- 23:23Speaker 3: Fleming from Transformed Church in Rutherford and Lyndhurst, New Jersey.
- 23:27Speaker 4: And it is a.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Message on Holy Week from El Trompito, Donaldus Magnus to
- 23:33Speaker 3: forty fifth and forty seventh President of these United States,
- 23:38Speaker 3: El pressI, then the Donald J. Trump, and here we go.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Check this out.
- 23:43Speaker 15: This Holy Week, I'm proud to join with Christians across
- 23:47Speaker 15: the country and around the world to celebrate the most
- 23:49Speaker 15: glorious miracle and all of time, the resurrection of our
- 23:54Speaker 15: Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In his life, Christ displayed
- 23:58Speaker 15: true humility. In his death, he modeled true love, and
- 24:03Speaker 15: in his resurrection from the tomb, he proved that even
- 24:07Speaker 15: death itself will not silence those who place their trust
- 24:10Speaker 15: in Almighty God, as it says in Gospel of John,
- 24:15Speaker 15: For God so loved the world that he gave his
- 24:18Speaker 15: only son for whoever believes in Him should not perish,
- 24:22Speaker 15: but have eternal life. Eternal life, such beautiful words. This
- 24:27Speaker 15: Eastern millions of Christians all over the globe will be
- 24:31Speaker 15: reminded that because of what Jesus did on the Cross,
- 24:35Speaker 15: all of us can live every day with hope in
- 24:37Speaker 15: God's promise, knowing that in the end evil and wickedness
- 24:41Speaker 15: will not prevail. In this spirit of joy and renewal,
- 24:46Speaker 15: this Easter, we also celebrate the extraordinary resurrection of faith
- 24:51Speaker 15: and religion in America. As I have often said, to
- 24:55Speaker 15: be a great nation, you must have religion and you
- 24:58Speaker 15: must have God. Churches across the nation on Sunday the
- 25:02Speaker 15: pews will be fuller, younger, and more faithful than they
- 25:05Speaker 15: have at any time in many, many years. Religion is
- 25:10Speaker 15: growing again in our country for the first time in decades.
- 25:15Speaker 15: Happy Easter to all. May God bless you. May God
- 25:18Speaker 15: bless the United States of America. Our country is doing
- 25:22Speaker 15: so well like never before.
- 25:24Speaker 3: Thank you that there is a Holy Week message from
- 25:28Speaker 3: El Trumpito DONALDUS Magnus, the forty fifth and forty seventh
- 25:31Speaker 3: President of these United States. Straight ahead our conversation with
- 25:35Speaker 3: Pastor Anthony Fleming from transformed church and some closing thoughts
- 25:39Speaker 3: from me, don't go anywhere. I'm rich child asked, this.
- 25:44Speaker 4: Is America, this is a merry.
- 26:20Speaker 11: Nearly two thousand years ago, during the Sacred Week, the
- 26:23Speaker 11: living Son of God entered Jerusalem and triumph. Soon after,
- 26:28Speaker 11: the savior of mankind, who brought truth and light into
- 26:31Speaker 11: the world, was betrayed, arrested and tried, beaten and nailed
- 26:35Speaker 11: to a cross, and crucified. For our sake, he gave
- 26:39Speaker 11: up his life, and as the very great Reverend Billy
- 26:44Speaker 11: Graham once said, God proved his love on the cross.
- 26:50Speaker 11: When Christ hung and bled and died, it was God
- 26:54Speaker 11: saying to the world I love you. Those are beautiful
- 26:58Speaker 11: words from a great man.
- 26:59Speaker 3: Frank right, what's up, America. It's Rich Valdez. So check
- 27:03Speaker 3: this out. I want to bring you a very special
- 27:06Speaker 3: Good Friday guest. Now, this guy is not just a pastor.
- 27:11Speaker 3: He's somebody has his own personal story, and we're going
- 27:14Speaker 3: to get into his story of how he came from
- 27:16Speaker 3: Australia to the United States and the next segment and
- 27:19Speaker 3: how he got to discover the missing piece and explode
- 27:24Speaker 3: the ministry that God gave him. But right now, I
- 27:27Speaker 3: want to get his reaction to some of the things
- 27:29Speaker 3: that you just heard President Trump saying about Easter, about
- 27:32Speaker 3: the resurrection, as well as the mocking of Christianity and
- 27:36Speaker 3: Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live. Welcome, sir, Pastor Anthony Fleming.
- 27:43Speaker 3: It's an honor.
- 27:44Speaker 9: Yeah, thanks so much, sir.
- 27:46Speaker 10: Yeah, it's a special time of year obviously for Christians,
- 27:50Speaker 10: and the media is kind of known for loving to
- 27:54Speaker 10: mock Christians. They don't seem to mark many other religions,
- 27:56Speaker 10: but they'll definitely mark the Fith. I think it's obviously
- 28:00Speaker 10: a beautiful thing that we have a fairly bold, well
- 28:03Speaker 10: not a fairly bold, a bold president, someone who's not
- 28:07Speaker 10: afraid to say what he believes. It's interesting that so
- 28:12Speaker 10: many other people have said what they believe, but they
- 28:15Speaker 10: kind of make it very general, I think, and he
- 28:19Speaker 10: just goes after it, and to be honest, I think
- 28:21Speaker 10: that's refreshing.
- 28:23Speaker 3: I agree. And I think it also kind of tackles
- 28:26Speaker 3: the problem that a lot of people think that there
- 28:28Speaker 3: should be a to borrow a term from a long
- 28:30Speaker 3: time ago, a war between a separation between church and state,
- 28:34Speaker 3: and this I think is is alive from the enemy.
- 28:38Speaker 3: If I can right now saying politics and religion or
- 28:41Speaker 3: things you shouldn't talk about. I think those are the
- 28:43Speaker 3: two main things you should talk about.
- 28:44Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah, Well it is a fallacy because here's what
- 28:50Speaker 10: people often do. They say I'm not religious, and then
- 28:53Speaker 10: therefore they say I have no beliefs. The essence of
- 28:58Speaker 10: religion is belief, and so politics is the outworking of
- 29:02Speaker 10: our beliefs. And so you can't not have beliefs in
- 29:06Speaker 10: politics because you're saying right, you're saying wrong, you're saying good,
- 29:10Speaker 10: you're saying bad, and that is the essence of what
- 29:12Speaker 10: we believe. Therefore, it is in essence religious. Now should
- 29:16Speaker 10: we be forcing our religion in essence on people. No,
- 29:22Speaker 10: But at the same time you have to say right
- 29:25Speaker 10: and wrong. The Ten Commandments were foundational obviously throughout the
- 29:29Speaker 10: Western world, and created a civil society, a better society
- 29:34Speaker 10: by saying don't lie, don't steal, don't murder, don't commit adultery,
- 29:39Speaker 10: don't cover it. Those were things that were foundational that
- 29:43Speaker 10: help humanity flourish.
- 29:45Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 29:45Speaker 3: Really well, put and where we are today from your view,
- 29:50Speaker 3: and I guess your view is really unique because you
- 29:52Speaker 3: weren't born in the United States, so you have this
- 29:55Speaker 3: juxtaposition of living in Australia. But I can tell you
- 29:59Speaker 3: I've seen things go downhill since.
- 30:01Speaker 9: I was a kid.
- 30:02Speaker 3: When I was a kid, everybody, I thought everybody was
- 30:04Speaker 3: a Christian, right, it was okay to go to church,
- 30:06Speaker 3: it was okay to talk about God. As I got older,
- 30:08Speaker 3: I was like, oh my gosh, you guys don't do that.
- 30:09Speaker 3: What's going on here? Right? And it's almost criticized. What's
- 30:13Speaker 3: your view? How have you observed that?
- 30:16Speaker 10: Yeah, gosh, it's interesting because I came from Australia at nineteen,
- 30:22Speaker 10: went to Liberty University, which was a very deep dive
- 30:25Speaker 10: pro Republican, obviously pro faith, you know, environment, and that
- 30:31Speaker 10: was different for me. Went back to so I came
- 30:34Speaker 10: back to America and then I went to conferences and
- 30:36Speaker 10: leadership conferences back in the day and really was discouraged.
- 30:40Speaker 9: From talking ever about politics.
- 30:41Speaker 10: But it wasn't until I think the political realm started
- 30:45Speaker 10: stepping on areas that I felt was so foundational to
- 30:51Speaker 10: life and flourishing that I felt compelled that I had
- 30:55Speaker 10: to talk about it.
- 30:56Speaker 9: And so when.
- 30:58Speaker 10: When really our governor of New Jersey at that time,
- 31:03Speaker 10: and then numerous different people went so left wing when
- 31:06Speaker 10: it came to abortion, for instance, and promoting nine month abortions,
- 31:11Speaker 10: I felt so compelled during that time that I had
- 31:13Speaker 10: to talk about it because it was blatantly murderous and
- 31:17Speaker 10: a dangerous doctrine. And then the other thing I felt
- 31:20Speaker 10: like I had to talk about, which was speaking up
- 31:24Speaker 10: for children. And so, you know, as a pastor, someone
- 31:29Speaker 10: who's dealt with sometimes people's problems for over twenty years
- 31:33Speaker 10: on a discipleship level, on a counseling level, on a
- 31:37Speaker 10: marital level, not just what I've dealt with, but also
- 31:40Speaker 10: what many other pastes have dealt with, and even just
- 31:43Speaker 10: people who are trying to help people navigate what i'd
- 31:46Speaker 10: call soulish wounds of the past. To then somehow dive in.
- 31:52Speaker 10: I don't know how we fell in love with this,
- 31:53Speaker 10: but it was a spiritual thing. We somehow fell in
- 31:56Speaker 10: love to playcate to such a degree. Here's what I'd say.
- 32:05Speaker 10: It's like we fell in love with compassion but lost
- 32:07Speaker 10: our conviction. So instead of being just compassionate to the individual,
- 32:13Speaker 10: we said, we're gonna overplay that and we're gonna literally
- 32:17Speaker 10: bring in a doctrine of confusion to young children and
- 32:21Speaker 10: so when people started talking about gender neutrality and teaching
- 32:25Speaker 10: that in education sphere, there was something in me that
- 32:30Speaker 10: I couldn't be silent as a father, as a child
- 32:34Speaker 10: of God, as a pastor, and so I feel like
- 32:37Speaker 10: I had to talk about some of those things. And
- 32:40Speaker 10: actually what I found was I was stepping into sometimes
- 32:44Speaker 10: on some people's toes. But what actually happened was it
- 32:47Speaker 10: caused Christians to be bolder. It caused them to say, yeah,
- 32:51Speaker 10: that's right, we need to stand up for these things.
- 32:54Speaker 9: And so there was this.
- 32:57Speaker 10: It was an interesting time because for me around that
- 32:59Speaker 10: time was also around COVID and different stuff, and it
- 33:02Speaker 10: felt like there was so many voices and all the
- 33:04Speaker 10: voices of social media. But I remember praying one day
- 33:08Speaker 10: and on my way to church, and I felt like
- 33:12Speaker 10: there were so many voices, and I just felt really
- 33:14Speaker 10: convicted that I was to keep building strong men, and
- 33:17Speaker 10: then I was just speak up for children. And so
- 33:20Speaker 10: that has been one of the things that I've talked about.
- 33:23Speaker 10: And so I think it's important that Christians see the
- 33:26Speaker 10: weightiest matters of the law, the weightiest things in scripture,
- 33:30Speaker 10: which Jesus talked about in Matthew twenty three twenty three,
- 33:33Speaker 10: and he said, if we will wait, what is the weightiest,
- 33:36Speaker 10: we will know how to navigate our faith, our life,
- 33:39Speaker 10: our voting, our government decisions.
- 33:41Speaker 9: Will know it through the lens of scripture.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Pastor Anthony Fleming, would you say that this conviction that
- 33:48Speaker 3: you got was because you were a pastor or simply
- 33:52Speaker 3: because you are a father and a believer?
- 33:57Speaker 10: You know, first, it's son of God, right first, it's
- 34:01Speaker 10: I'm forgiven. I'm meant to be a reflection of Jesus,
- 34:04Speaker 10: So that should be primary. And obviously the amount of
- 34:08Speaker 10: time you spend in scripture should obviously help forming you something.
- 34:12Speaker 10: You know, if you just look simply at the Ten
- 34:14Speaker 10: Commandments and you look through them and read them out loud,
- 34:18Speaker 10: and then you see policies and government officials that seem
- 34:22Speaker 10: to attack them at every moment, you go, well, it
- 34:25Speaker 10: doesn't matter how good you sound, it doesn't matter.
- 34:27Speaker 9: How flowery your words are.
- 34:29Speaker 10: You're attacking the foundations of what is Christianity, the faith America.
- 34:36Speaker 9: And so I just felt like I had to be
- 34:38Speaker 9: bold there.
- 34:38Speaker 10: And as a father, I did begin to imagine, like
- 34:43Speaker 10: my own son if he was five, six seven, my
- 34:46Speaker 10: own daughter six seven, eight years old and then teachers
- 34:51Speaker 10: introducing dangerous thoughts to them, like there's certain things that
- 34:56Speaker 10: we don't understand as adults, but then to go in
- 35:00Speaker 10: to reduce those thoughts as a young child just violates
- 35:04Speaker 10: every bit of common sense, every bit of wisdom that
- 35:08Speaker 10: I can think of. And the you know, as again
- 35:12Speaker 10: someone who's pasted people over the years, your sexual wounds,
- 35:16Speaker 10: I put it that way, your childhood.
- 35:18Speaker 9: Wounds they carry for years and years.
- 35:21Speaker 10: So I felt like that was a doctrine that was
- 35:24Speaker 10: basically from Satan. There's no other way to say it.
- 35:27Speaker 10: And it was evil, and I think Christians had to
- 35:31Speaker 10: I still think Christians actually have to be bolder and
- 35:34Speaker 10: clearer on some of.
- 35:35Speaker 9: Those things, while at the same time being loving.
- 35:37Speaker 10: And gracious to the individual, but standing up for what
- 35:40Speaker 10: it's true.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Love the center, hate the sin.
- 35:44Speaker 10: Yeah, not easy to do, and that's why you need grace,
- 35:46Speaker 10: That's why you need mercy, and that's why you need
- 35:49Speaker 10: to literally say, Jesus helped me. Because sometimes you will
- 35:52Speaker 10: start to hate someone because they're carrying a certain ideology
- 35:56Speaker 10: that's not the spirit at all. But in your own
- 35:58Speaker 10: walk with God, you've got to bring that to God.
- 36:01Speaker 1: This is America, This is America.
- 36:29Speaker 5: He's making podcasting great again.
- 36:32Speaker 4: This is America with Rich Valdez.
- 36:55Speaker 3: And I wanted to do something special. We always for Christmas,
- 36:59Speaker 3: for a good Friday, for those types of things. We
- 37:00Speaker 3: always talk about the importance of these holidays, and there's
- 37:04Speaker 3: you know, we just heard the comments from President Trump
- 37:08Speaker 3: referencing his faith and why we acknowledged a resurrection on Easter.
- 37:12Speaker 3: But I want to talk about that. I want to
- 37:14Speaker 3: talk about the role Christianities playing in America. I want
- 37:17Speaker 3: to talk about society and culture. And I want to
- 37:21Speaker 3: do it with somebody who's Australian, right, an Australian guy.
- 37:26Speaker 3: He graduated from the same college that my daughter just
- 37:29Speaker 3: graduated from, Liberty University. Shout out to the Flames. And
- 37:33Speaker 3: he's also my pastor, Pastor Anthony Fleming from Church Alive. Welcome, sir.
- 37:37Speaker 9: Yeah, great to be here, my friend. Great to be here,
- 37:39Speaker 9: really is.
- 37:40Speaker 3: So let's let's start there. How do we how do
- 37:42Speaker 3: we end up with this this big, big sound the
- 37:45Speaker 3: alarm sound, the alarm. How do we end up with
- 37:48Speaker 3: this big, big church that's slowly growing or quickly growing
- 37:53Speaker 3: in Bergen County, New Jersey with a guy that was
- 37:57Speaker 3: in Australia not that long ago, saying I'm not going
- 38:00Speaker 3: to be in the ministry, right, how does that happen?
- 38:03Speaker 9: Yeah, it's a story.
- 38:05Speaker 10: So when I'm nineteen, I go to Liberty University. A
- 38:09Speaker 10: year before I really had kind of a reawakening in
- 38:13Speaker 10: my faith, to be honest, and had always had this
- 38:16Speaker 10: desire to go play college tennis. And that was the
- 38:19Speaker 10: door that got opened for me at Liberty University. While
- 38:22Speaker 10: I'm there praying one day, felt called to preach, felt
- 38:26Speaker 10: like God had put purpose in my heart in a
- 38:29Speaker 10: big way.
- 38:30Speaker 9: End up meeting my wife there.
- 38:31Speaker 10: She's from New Jersey, and so we get married a
- 38:34Speaker 10: couple of years later and in four and we were
- 38:37Speaker 10: actually in Australia.
- 38:38Speaker 9: At the time. She had just finished All Song College.
- 38:42Speaker 10: We just got married, and her father, who was a
- 38:44Speaker 10: Portuguese speaking pastor in Jersey, asked us, Hey, do you
- 38:48Speaker 10: want to start something here, And to be honest, we
- 38:50Speaker 10: kind of said no. But we prayed about for about
- 38:52Speaker 10: that next thirty days and just felt like it was
- 38:55Speaker 10: an open door and hey, let's step into it. And
- 38:58Speaker 10: so we were kind of laboring away. We felt like
- 39:01Speaker 10: God had given us a dream to reach people for Christ,
- 39:05Speaker 10: to take them on a journey of a discipleship, to
- 39:07Speaker 10: see life transformation in them, and then lead their families
- 39:13Speaker 10: in a stronger, better way. And I think over time
- 39:17Speaker 10: that just became really our passion. It became of a
- 39:21Speaker 10: thing that we felt like God had given us. And
- 39:24Speaker 10: it's been interesting to see the last six years, to
- 39:26Speaker 10: be honest, because it was slow growth until about six
- 39:29Speaker 10: years ago, until I felt like the Lord give me
- 39:33Speaker 10: something a bit unique, which was around specifically speaking to
- 39:37Speaker 10: men and really helping them get unstuck. And we now
- 39:41Speaker 10: call it the four pillars of life Spiritual, physical, relational, financial,
- 39:46Speaker 10: and we challenge men specifically there and the ladies.
- 39:49Speaker 9: Grabbed that, and out of that has come a lot
- 39:52Speaker 9: of growth and a lot of really good things.
- 39:54Speaker 3: This is quite a story. So you start this church
- 39:57Speaker 3: again at the suggestion of your father in law to say,
- 40:01Speaker 3: let's you know, you guys want to get into ministry.
- 40:02Speaker 3: You're like, I don't know, let me think about it.
- 40:04Speaker 3: I pray about it. Yeah, And at what point do
- 40:07Speaker 3: you get this vision? Was it later? Was it early
- 40:10Speaker 3: on that there's going to be this massive, mega church
- 40:13Speaker 3: growing in Jersey.
- 40:15Speaker 9: Well, I hate the word mega church, so I will
- 40:17Speaker 9: say that, so I'll join you. I would say.
- 40:19Speaker 10: It's a growing church to me, megas ten twenty thousand people,
- 40:23Speaker 10: where you're almost there.
- 40:24Speaker 9: But anyway, good things are happening and it's encouraging.
- 40:29Speaker 10: I would say this that revelation or insight or vision,
- 40:33Speaker 10: those three words you can use either one.
- 40:35Speaker 9: It is progressive.
- 40:37Speaker 10: When I was called by God to preach at nineteen
- 40:40Speaker 10: twenty twenty one, I did feel like in prayer numerous
- 40:43Speaker 10: different times, I felt like I literally saw by faith
- 40:48Speaker 10: large things is the best way to describe it. So
- 40:50Speaker 10: when we really took a long time to grow, I
- 40:53Speaker 10: would say we were five years in one hundred and
- 40:55Speaker 10: fifty people. There was definitely some discouragement around that because
- 41:00Speaker 10: we felt like something much larger had been placed in
- 41:02Speaker 10: us and it just wasn't happening, you know. But we
- 41:05Speaker 10: kept going to leadership conferences, we kept trying to be
- 41:08Speaker 10: faithful with what we had, We kept building our team,
- 41:11Speaker 10: building the culture, and then over time, I do think
- 41:15Speaker 10: you start to see, man, what is your lane, your
- 41:19Speaker 10: lane of ministry? How what is the flavor of church
- 41:23Speaker 10: that you're meant to be? And I think it was
- 41:25Speaker 10: when the Lord really gave me Men's transform that the
- 41:29Speaker 10: flavor that I felt like matched probably the best with
- 41:33Speaker 10: my personality, my gifting, my skill set, my even background here.
- 41:37Speaker 10: I made you to be yeah, in college tennis, in
- 41:40Speaker 10: coaching tennis, in athletics, and so forth. I feel like
- 41:44Speaker 10: I wasn't very pastor as in, like you didn't want
- 41:48Speaker 10: to come and meet me for counseling, if you know
- 41:50Speaker 10: what I mean.
- 41:50Speaker 9: I found counseling boring.
- 41:51Speaker 10: I didn't want counseling, but I found stirring people to
- 41:56Speaker 10: be more seemed to be my lane and what I
- 41:59Speaker 10: felt like I.
- 41:59Speaker 9: Was to do it. I love that.
- 42:01Speaker 3: So you said it transcends, right, The vision, the idea
- 42:06Speaker 3: kind of changes, and that's when you found this lynchpin,
- 42:09Speaker 3: if you will. It was focusing on men, men being
- 42:13Speaker 3: the foundation of the family and realizing that's how you grow,
- 42:16Speaker 3: you focus on men. It happened about six years ago.
- 42:20Speaker 3: Do you think there was something missing? And I don't
- 42:24Speaker 3: mean missing in a detrimental way, I mean missing for years.
- 42:28Speaker 3: I tried to lose weight, and it something eventually worked
- 42:33Speaker 3: for me, and I don't even know what it is.
- 42:35Speaker 3: I think maybe it's really just learning how to count carbs.
- 42:37Speaker 3: But outside of that, yeah, they will right. You don't
- 42:41Speaker 3: know you're drinking them, you're eating them. But something eventually
- 42:44Speaker 3: made sense to me and I said, ah, this is it.
- 42:46Speaker 3: And it sounds like that was that moment for you.
- 42:48Speaker 3: But was that the only part that you were missing
- 42:51Speaker 3: or in getting to men or was there some other
- 42:54Speaker 3: lesson that you needed to learn yet to get you
- 42:57Speaker 3: to that stage?
- 42:59Speaker 10: The differently was a big aha moment literally in my backyard.
- 43:04Speaker 10: I felt this phrase is the best way to describe it,
- 43:07Speaker 10: pierce my heart.
- 43:08Speaker 9: Help men win in life. Five words, help men win
- 43:11Speaker 9: in life.
- 43:12Speaker 10: And it was like that aha moment became a moment
- 43:14Speaker 10: where I felt like I saw the culture we needed
- 43:17Speaker 10: to be honest, was a bit frustrated at our own
- 43:20Speaker 10: small groups at the time.
- 43:21Speaker 9: I kind of they're okay, they weren't.
- 43:24Speaker 10: They weren't multiplying, they weren't growing, they weren't producing something
- 43:27Speaker 10: what I would call vibrant or strong. But for ten
- 43:30Speaker 10: years as a past I kept hearing the same four
- 43:34Speaker 10: prayer requests something in the physical realm, the health, something
- 43:38Speaker 10: in your finances, my career, my money's a mess, something
- 43:41Speaker 10: in my relationship, whether it's a broken marriage, whether it's
- 43:44Speaker 10: just relational drama. And then obviously faith questions, and so
- 43:48Speaker 10: those four areas were almost in every single prayer request
- 43:52Speaker 10: we ever got. So I'm like, wait, we don't so
- 43:55Speaker 10: much have a prayer problem, we might have a application problem,
- 43:58Speaker 10: or we might have a wisdom problem. And then one day,
- 44:02Speaker 10: just reading scripture Proverbst Three fifteen or sixteen, jumped off
- 44:05Speaker 10: the page, so to speak. It says long life is
- 44:08Speaker 10: in her right hand. It says in her left hand
- 44:10Speaker 10: are riches and honor, and so Probst three or the
- 44:13Speaker 10: entire book is about seeking wisdom, but Probast three talks
- 44:17Speaker 10: about as you seek wisdom, here's the fruit, and the
- 44:20Speaker 10: fruit is long life.
- 44:21Speaker 9: That's your health, riches, your relationship to career, and.
- 44:24Speaker 10: Money and honor can only come from to places God
- 44:27Speaker 10: or people. And so what I saw in that was
- 44:30Speaker 10: in the hands of wisdom is the management of these
- 44:34Speaker 10: four buckets that everyone was talking about. And so out
- 44:38Speaker 10: of that and then there's this very unique, very well
- 44:41Speaker 10: not unique, actually very known scripture that most people know,
- 44:47Speaker 10: to be honest, especially pastors.
- 44:49Speaker 9: Look two fifty two, Jesus.
- 44:50Speaker 10: Grew in wisdom, stature, faith with God, favor, with man
- 44:54Speaker 10: and in those four areas is actually the four areas
- 44:57Speaker 10: of life.
- 44:58Speaker 9: And so we said, men, where are man stuck?
- 45:01Speaker 10: Where men are sometimes stuck physically, often stuck relationally. Many
- 45:06Speaker 10: times if they're doing well financially, the relational bit or
- 45:09Speaker 10: the spiritual bit doesn't seem to gel. And then you
- 45:12Speaker 10: meet guys who are amazing in their faith, amazing in relationships,
- 45:15Speaker 10: but the other disciplines are really missing often in their world.
- 45:18Speaker 10: And so I felt like we saw that we needed
- 45:21Speaker 10: not just a culture of grace, we needed a culture
- 45:24Speaker 10: of growth. And so we had to challenge men individually
- 45:28Speaker 10: to get vision in those four areas. And then we
- 45:31Speaker 10: had to hold them accountable and said, man, you said
- 45:34Speaker 10: you wanted to grow here, so we are actually building
- 45:36Speaker 10: a brotherhood that helps you win in life. And then
- 45:39Speaker 10: at the same time these four areas, we're gonna hold
- 45:42Speaker 10: you accountable. So it's not gonna be bagels once a month.
- 45:45Speaker 10: It's not gonna be some quarterly thing. It needs to
- 45:47Speaker 10: be weekly. It needs to be regular. And you know,
- 45:51Speaker 10: you want to become more. And that's the thing I
- 45:53Speaker 10: actually hear sometimes. I've heard this from Jordan Peterson. He's like,
- 45:57Speaker 10: you know you can be more. And I think when
- 46:01Speaker 10: you talk to men, you realize that they know they
- 46:05Speaker 10: can be more. They're just not sure why. And I
- 46:07Speaker 10: think there's something in their makeup that actually God has
- 46:10Speaker 10: put in there.
- 46:11Speaker 9: That they know they can be more.
- 46:13Speaker 10: And so when you inspire them with the scriptures, with
- 46:17Speaker 10: the grace of God, with the love of God, not
- 46:19Speaker 10: shaming them, but building them up to these four areas,
- 46:22Speaker 10: now they rise, become better husbands, they get their health
- 46:26Speaker 10: under control, they lose weight, they pay off debt, and
- 46:30Speaker 10: then they even start growing in the relationship with God.
- 46:32Speaker 10: And before you know it, good things are happening at home,
- 46:36Speaker 10: Good things are happening. As a dad, good things are happening,
- 46:39Speaker 10: or they want to get married because they're just kind
- 46:41Speaker 10: of play in the field, so to speak.
- 46:44Speaker 9: So we just see a lot of really good things
- 46:46Speaker 9: out of that.
- 46:46Speaker 3: There's so much going on. Yet it's a beautiful day.
- 46:49Speaker 3: You wouldn't think that back in the day Jesus was
- 46:56Speaker 3: on his way to getting hung on across right about now.
- 47:00Speaker 10: Yeah, no, absolutely, it is a beautiful day outside. Spring
- 47:03Speaker 10: is here. Here's what's interesting about spring that I've been
- 47:05Speaker 10: thinking about a little bit as i've been just praying
- 47:08Speaker 10: and thinking and preparing for the messages. Is spring itself
- 47:12Speaker 10: speaks of resurrection. The seed in the ground that looks
- 47:15Speaker 10: like it's dead, buried, it's dark, and then life comes.
- 47:20Speaker 10: Winter itself just coming out of a pretty long winter
- 47:23Speaker 10: to be honest, in Jersey, in New York, and you know,
- 47:27Speaker 10: I'm in Jersey and I'm a little bit northern Jersey,
- 47:29Speaker 10: so i feel like we've got longer winter, and I'm like, man,
- 47:32Speaker 10: I'm ready for the sun. But winter it's dark and
- 47:36Speaker 10: it's and it's cold. But then life starts to come.
- 47:39Speaker 10: And so during these times, I think, actually there's parts
- 47:43Speaker 10: of nature that even speak to us of the resurrection.
- 47:47Speaker 10: And then the other unique thing that I've been thinking
- 47:49Speaker 10: about personally is.
- 47:50Speaker 9: This the sun rises every day.
- 47:53Speaker 10: The sun rises every day, and perhaps God in times
- 47:58Speaker 10: past we're saying, man, I'm going to give them such
- 48:00Speaker 10: a sign that one day, yes, my son will die,
- 48:03Speaker 10: but yes my son will rise from the dead, and
- 48:06Speaker 10: I'll remind them of it every single day.
- 48:10Speaker 3: Man, you should be a pastor.
- 48:12Speaker 9: Well, I'm trying, man, I'm trying.
- 48:14Speaker 3: Folks are here with Pastor Anthony Fleming, and it's an
- 48:18Speaker 3: impressive message and I think there's people listening right now.
- 48:22Speaker 3: I know there's a lot of people listening right now
- 48:24Speaker 3: that may be inspired by what you've been talking about,
- 48:27Speaker 3: and they don't live close enough to churchill live to
- 48:30Speaker 3: participate in person. What do you recommend to them?
- 48:35Speaker 9: First? Pray? First, pray if you want to get need
- 48:40Speaker 9: of God.
- 48:41Speaker 10: He says, if you'll seek me with all your heart,
- 48:43Speaker 10: I will be found by you. Use the Lord's prayer
- 48:46Speaker 10: as a model for worshiping first, thanking first, asking for
- 48:52Speaker 10: your needs, surrendering forgiveness.
- 48:54Speaker 9: Take yourself through the Lord's prayer.
- 48:56Speaker 10: That'll draw you close. But then do find a place
- 48:59Speaker 10: where there's life, where there's the gospel is preach, where
- 49:04Speaker 10: people's lives are changing.
- 49:05Speaker 9: Where you can tell this The best way to describe it.
- 49:09Speaker 10: If you've ever walked into a restaurant and you smell
- 49:12Speaker 10: the smell the people in the atmosphere, you'll smell it.
- 49:16Speaker 10: Sometimes in the church you'll walk in and you'll go, oh,
- 49:19Speaker 10: there's something going on here that people keep on coming
- 49:21Speaker 10: back for the.
- 49:22Speaker 9: Great steak, the great chicken, the great whatever whatever they have.
- 49:26Speaker 10: In a life giving church, there will be life life change,
- 49:31Speaker 10: and there'll be people growing. There'll be people excited, there'll
- 49:34Speaker 10: be joy, and you'll find purpose there to.
- 49:36Speaker 3: Our listeners that are listening right now, and they're saying, man,
- 49:39Speaker 3: this guy's great, but he's got it all together. Things
- 49:41Speaker 3: are fantastic for this guy. And they're not doing fantastic
- 49:44Speaker 3: right now. They're down in the dumps. They're facing something serious.
- 49:47Speaker 3: There are people that lost their kids yesterday in a
- 49:49Speaker 3: shooting in a school yesterday or Thursday. There was the
- 49:53Speaker 3: mother of Rachel Morin was in the White House sharing
- 49:56Speaker 3: what it was like as her daughter was raped. And
- 50:00Speaker 3: and there's so much ugly things, so many ugly things
- 50:03Speaker 3: that happen in this life, and there are people dealing
- 50:05Speaker 3: with that. And it's great to be upbeat and to
- 50:09Speaker 3: feel good about the resurrection, but there are people who
- 50:12Speaker 3: just aren't there yet. What's your advice to them?
- 50:15Speaker 10: Gosh, pain is one of our greatest teachers, unfortunately, So
- 50:19Speaker 10: when you say life is not fair, when you say
- 50:22Speaker 10: life is hard, you're actually agreeing with scripture that things
- 50:25Speaker 10: are broken, that things are not the way they're meant
- 50:28Speaker 10: to be. That since the garden hasn't been fair, and
- 50:31Speaker 10: so pain and evil and tragedy has been introduced to
- 50:35Speaker 10: the world. But we do serve a savior who didn't
- 50:40Speaker 10: just stay afar. He came close, and not just close,
- 50:43Speaker 10: but he literally identified with our struggle, heartache, pain, and
- 50:48Speaker 10: then even went through the worst of pains being crucified
- 50:52Speaker 10: on a cross. And so we do so of a
- 50:54Speaker 10: God that can identify definitely without pain.
- 50:57Speaker 9: I do think I think it was C. S. Lewis.
- 50:58Speaker 10: He said, God whispers to us in our pleasures, but
- 51:02Speaker 10: he shouts to us in our pains. And sometimes it
- 51:05Speaker 10: simply says, Hey, the way you're living right now is
- 51:08Speaker 10: not working.
- 51:09Speaker 9: I have a better way.
- 51:10Speaker 10: And so if you're going through tragedy, obviously you know
- 51:14Speaker 10: my heart goes out to you. But God is close.
- 51:17Speaker 10: He is near, and he's actually near the broken hearted.
- 51:21Speaker 3: Amen to that. Pastor. Let everybody know how they could
- 51:24Speaker 3: check out one of your sermons. Are they available online?
- 51:26Speaker 3: What's the website? Tell us how to find you?
- 51:29Speaker 9: Hey, YouTube always works. Church Alive NJ.
- 51:32Speaker 10: You'd type in and then churchilive dot tv would be
- 51:35Speaker 10: where you could see that wrote a book recently called Transform.
- 51:40Speaker 10: You can check out transform themovement dot com. Any of
- 51:43Speaker 10: those stuff is going to encourage your faith and hopefully
- 51:45Speaker 10: build your life.
- 51:47Speaker 3: Well, there you have it, I mean, he goes. The
- 51:48Speaker 3: book is called Transform. Make sure you've got a copy
- 51:50Speaker 3: for yourself and every single person that you love and
- 51:53Speaker 3: give it to them as a gift. Make sure you
- 51:55Speaker 3: do that. Make sure you go to Church Alive dot
- 51:56Speaker 3: TV stream the sermon. I go to this church. I
- 51:59Speaker 3: vouch for the church. Pastor Anthony's got some solid teaching. Sir,
- 52:02Speaker 3: You're a gentleman, a scholar, and a patriot. And I
- 52:04Speaker 3: want to thank you for being here.
- 52:05Speaker 9: God bless you, Thank you man.
- 52:07Speaker 3: It was honor being here, my pleasure. So I mean goes.
- 52:10Speaker 3: That is Pastor Anthony Fleming again. He's the pastor senior
- 52:14Speaker 3: pastor over at Transformed Church formerly known as Church Alive.
- 52:18Speaker 3: And that was a conversation we had last Good Friday,
- 52:21Speaker 3: and I wanted to bring it to you as a
- 52:23Speaker 3: Flashback Friday because I thought it was an excellent conversation
- 52:26Speaker 3: and because from that time till this time, I actually
- 52:30Speaker 3: got a chance to experience the first what they call
- 52:33Speaker 3: season of Transform. And the reason they call it transform
- 52:38Speaker 3: is because it's truly about people transforming their lives through
- 52:41Speaker 3: the ministry of Christ and understanding it that way and
- 52:45Speaker 3: not to get overly spiritual, and on my soapbox, I
- 52:48Speaker 3: am going to say those four buckets he mentioned it
- 52:50Speaker 3: was four categories of physically, spiritually, financially, relationally. This is
- 52:57Speaker 3: you know, they break it down into like a semester, right,
- 52:59Speaker 3: you go for twelve weeks. And I'd say that's one
- 53:01Speaker 3: of the biggest blessings that's come out of me not
- 53:03Speaker 3: having to be somewhere between nine pm and midnight every
- 53:06Speaker 3: single day, is that I can be there on Mondays
- 53:11Speaker 3: when they ask me to be there. And I've been
- 53:13Speaker 3: going to these transform gatherings and let me tell you,
- 53:17Speaker 3: absolutely fantastic, absolutely fantastic. I really enjoy the camaraderie and
- 53:23Speaker 3: the things that I've learned, and it does make a difference.
- 53:27Speaker 3: And this is not necessarily a Christian thing per se, right,
- 53:30Speaker 3: it is in the sense of it's in a Christian
- 53:33Speaker 3: church and you're studying Christian scriptures. But I'm saying the
- 53:36Speaker 3: larger idea, the idea of improving yourself in at least
- 53:41Speaker 3: three of these areas, maybe not the spiritual area. These
- 53:45Speaker 3: are all very generic positive things that everybody should do.
- 53:50Speaker 3: So for all those people that are out there saying,
- 53:52Speaker 3: you know, I've always wanted to get back to church,
- 53:55Speaker 3: it's been a while. Maybe I'll go this Eastern Maybe
- 53:57Speaker 3: I'll go for Christmas. Maybe you should just go to
- 53:59Speaker 3: this Monday night group. And again, I know not everybody's
- 54:02Speaker 3: in the New Jersey area, and I know that there
- 54:03Speaker 3: are a number. I think there's probably nine or a
- 54:06Speaker 3: dozen other churches across the country that have adopted this
- 54:09Speaker 3: Transform program and those who want to get the book
- 54:12Speaker 3: by Anthony Fleming. It's called Transform the Movement. But I
- 54:17Speaker 3: bring all of this up to say, people by and
- 54:20Speaker 3: large need to improve. We need to do better, not
- 54:23Speaker 3: just for ourselves and not just for our walk with God,
- 54:26Speaker 3: but more so because of society at large. Right, society
- 54:31Speaker 3: at large is probably the biggest indicator. When you look
- 54:33Speaker 3: at the stories we talked about tonight, people poisoning one another,
- 54:38Speaker 3: people bombing one another, these are our problems that excuse me.
- 54:48Speaker 3: They aren't things that we want to go through, right,
- 54:50Speaker 3: I think these are things that by and large, we
- 54:53Speaker 3: wish we weren't going through, We wish was not happening.
- 54:58Speaker 3: So how do we get a better resolution on things?
- 55:00Speaker 3: How do we get a better handle on things? How
- 55:02Speaker 3: do we have better I'm going to call it intra
- 55:06Speaker 3: human relations, right, how do we get along better with
- 55:08Speaker 3: one another? I think that's how when you try to
- 55:13Speaker 3: embrace your faith and live through the fruit of the spirit.
- 55:16Speaker 3: It's obviously a toll order for many of us, at
- 55:18Speaker 3: least it is for me. Ay, I see a pretty
- 55:21Speaker 3: woman and I'm like, hey, shut it, and I am
- 55:24Speaker 3: driving my car and I'm quick to get angry. Road
- 55:26Speaker 3: rage is a thing. But I realize those aren't the
- 55:29Speaker 3: things that God has designed you or me to do,
- 55:33Speaker 3: or how He's designed us to respond. And there is
- 55:36Speaker 3: a blueprint, all right. The Apostle Paul said, follow me
- 55:40Speaker 3: as I follow Christ. If you don't know how to
- 55:41Speaker 3: do it, just watch him. And there are so many
- 55:44Speaker 3: examples out there, from the Apostle Paul to your local pastor.
- 55:49Speaker 3: In this instance, it was my pastor. So I'm going
- 55:52Speaker 3: to leave that right there and let you chew on
- 55:54Speaker 3: that for a while. I hope you'll get a copy
- 55:55Speaker 3: of his book. It really is fantastic. Could follow them
- 55:58Speaker 3: on social media Transformed Church and Jay and you can
- 56:01Speaker 3: check out their YouTube page as well. At Transformed Church.
- 56:05Speaker 3: Pastor Anthony Fleming, his lovely wife Miriam Fleming. They do
- 56:08Speaker 3: a fantastic job, great leadership team there, and really just
- 56:14Speaker 3: good people, good people, and a good church. And the
- 56:19Speaker 3: bigger message it's Good Friday, right, the death and the
- 56:22Speaker 3: resurrection of Christ. And this is where I will get
- 56:24Speaker 3: on my soapbox just briefly and say that Christianity is
- 56:28Speaker 3: a rather absolutist faith, right. It's absolutely rooted in Christ
- 56:34Speaker 3: being the Messiah, Christ being the Christ, right, Jesus being
- 56:39Speaker 3: the Son of God, God incarnate, both all man and
- 56:44Speaker 3: all God at the same time. And it is this
- 56:48Speaker 3: idea of the triune God living an earthly life you
- 56:51Speaker 3: ever yet never sinning, that is a conundrum for many,
- 56:56Speaker 3: but the ultimate testament of of comfort for many others. Saying, man,
- 57:02Speaker 3: if this guy did it and he paid the price,
- 57:06Speaker 3: you know, on the cross at Golgotha on Good Friday
- 57:11Speaker 3: two thousand some odd years ago, that gives me a
- 57:14Speaker 3: shot to make it into the pearly white gates. And that,
- 57:20Speaker 3: you know, simplifying it as I am, is truly the
- 57:23Speaker 3: gospel message. It's Christ's crucifixion, Christ's resurrection and our eternity
- 57:31Speaker 3: in service to Him and in communion with Him. And
- 57:34Speaker 3: I think that's a beautiful thing. So anyway, thanks for listening.
- 57:38Speaker 3: I bid you adieu here and I say, you got
- 57:40Speaker 3: to stand for something, because if you stand for nothing,
- 57:42Speaker 3: you'll fall for absolutely anything. And the only thing necessary
- 57:46Speaker 3: for evil to triumph is for good people like you
- 57:48Speaker 3: to sit there and do nothing. So start doing something,
- 57:52Speaker 3: and Asta labroxima. Until the next time, America, take care,
- 57:56Speaker 3: good night, and God bless you. I'm Rich Valdez and
