Transcript
- 0:03[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, hello, hello, and welcome to another edition of the nine or noise podcast parts of the fancited podcast network.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: My name is Robert Morrison, a contributor at nine or noise.com, and here with me as we prepare for week one of the NFL regular season, released for the 49ers perspective, uh, fellow contributor, actual as divadula, actual as the weight is over sir.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: We are just days away, uh, from the start of the 49ers regular season.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and I think it's time to get back in the swing.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm super excited, Robert, and my hope is that this podcast is better than the Thursday night game that everyone's not yesterday in so far as we're already in regular season for him and not sort of scuffling through it, but we'll be giving them neither of us as spit on each other.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: So we're good.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's a low bar to the past, but somehow we manage.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so excited.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's been so long.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: No playoff makes it feel even worse.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: There's where everyone's reset.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's time for Sundays about the premiere here.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: We've got a game today to the Chiefs and the Chargers.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: There's just a beautiful time to be a football fan.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I just, I can't wait.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's going to be good.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: This is also one of the probably the strangest preview episode of the entire season because everything's new.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: And nobody really knows anything.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: As the season goes along where we get a better grip like a food the teams are and that sort of thing like right now It's kind of hard to know like as when we get into the meat and potatoes of the episode and we start doing the preview I think I think we're going to be saying very similar things because there's very little to say So four dinners are obviously opening the season in Seattle against the seahawks There this is
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: You know, kind of bizarre start to the year to go up to Seattle with a Seattle team that I think if that we just again, we don't know very much about what this team is going to look like and how good they're going to be and all this kind of stuff just because the preseason is not really helpful in that regard and so.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you have to be aware of those things when you're going into it.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think the expectations for Seattle are kind of all over the board.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen people predict them to be a wildcard team.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't really seen anybody predict them to win the division.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen people who are like, oh, no, they're going to be last place in the vision.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's just a weird, like, set up for the NFC West this year.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: But it's kind of, it's a good start to the year.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: You get the open Seattle before things get too wild.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: It sounds like there's going to be a red majority in the Pacific Northwest, which is pretty rare, at least according to some statistics that we've seen.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: So I think it's an interesting way to start, but I also think it will be a good kind of lit mist test for the 49ers to get started with this season.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, Seattle is we're going to really get into this, I think when we talk about sort of the
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: They're a, they're a new team, even from last year.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, last year, obviously, Mike McDonald's first year as Seattle head coach, he was changing things up.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: But like this year, they've added in a lot of new pieces.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they're really remaking their identity.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: So there's not a lot you can sort of be like, yeah, that's Seattle.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: It used to be like, repeat, Carol and charge.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: You knew exactly what Seattle would look like, what they would do.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it was pretty easy to sort of do this, even it was to start the season, but not anymore.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: You're right, it's not like I would love for them to not be playing a division game week one because division games are important and week one is weird and no one really knows how the NFC West is going to shake out.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: So these games are going to really matter.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you know, last year, if the Niners closed out the division games, they played like they probably make the playoffs, which is sort of like an easy statement to say,
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's a tough situation to be put in, but, you know, they've got to get it done.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: So with that in mind, let's go ahead and take a look at the injury situation.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: They've been kind of like making little tiny moves around the edges of the roster.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: I believe Russell Gage has both been on and not on the roster.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: and is now back on the practice going, I think they moved, Marquise, Valdez, Scantling, from the practice going to the 53-man roster, it's just been kind of funny to watch them try to figure out this, this wide receiver situation, like on the fly, because it's
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: very much what they're doing.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: But it is an interesting mix and we'll talk about that.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure as we get in, we'll be talking about it in an awful lot through the season because it will be something to watch.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: But from an injury perspective, so it was really, everybody was really excited on Wednesday.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: Wednesday was hip hip hooray.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone on the 53-man roster saved for Jordan
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and, and, and, you tell Grasmato's, sorry.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so 50 out of the 53 guys on the roster were practicing.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and that felt like a major victory because, as we've talked about at Nazim throughout the, the pre-season.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: this team has been just like injury just bugs just injury bit all year but Joanne Jennings was out there.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: Dominic Cooney was out there.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: Ben Bart was out there, Christian McAfrey was out there more than him in the second C.J.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: West, Michael Williams, up and stout everybody was just ready to go.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: And then Thursday happened and things got a little less optimistic.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: So you took as much as did an uptracks thing and a limited from limited on Thursday yesterday.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: And we're recording on Friday.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: And then Jordan Watkins got out there and then and that was fine.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: Like those guys coming off injury, you kind of expect them to be.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: in limited, in practicing, in a limited point, an amount of, in, in the lead up, and then there was the not so good news.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: The not so good news was the Christian McAfrey was in a limited practice after not having a practice on Wednesday, or he doesn't have a practising designation according to their website.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: But it seems alarming that he was only pract- he only got that limited designation.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: As we're recording this, foreign owners are heading out to practice.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like he's still going to be kind of limited today.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: Not sure what to make of that.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: UTURGRESS monitors is not practising today, but everybody else from so far as I can tell is going to be practising in some.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: manner, which I guess is good, but yeah.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: What do we make of this?
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: Are we worried?
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: What's our level of concern?
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm definitely worried because it would be much better if McCaffrey was not limited.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's just sort of true.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: And like, this is a very similar road map to what sort of happened last year where
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: He was limited and then he didn't play and then he kept on not playing and then boom there you go it's actually a huge deal and seasons like taint a little bit so yeah yeah yeah in that way.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's like it's not great I think like you had mentioned that you've seen this just before we got on the air which is that like there could be a chance that this is just how the nine years have been treating the calf for you the entire time.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_01]: up to date sort of like practice availability and like document injuries.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: So that could be true, but I mean, it's hard to tell because we don't know what this offense is going to look like, but Christian McCaffrey is a huge part of the way the nine are going to approach things like without him.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: That's a lot you're putting on Brian Johnson who's just like gone to the team.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: Now you're like, he really has to step up.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's a grando's going to have to like play a
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: They can't replicate what McCaffrey does and you're already down like your receiver room isn't exactly what you want it to be.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: So it wouldn't be great, but I'm cautiously optimistic.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: This is sort of just a thing they're doing to sort of keep him fresh the entire season.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it certainly is a PTSD thing, right, because like last season, like you said, I think we were talking about on this podcast, like, oh, he's going to be fine, right?
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like they've been really careful with him all off season and they haven't really pushed him.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, yeah, yeah, and then they played on Monday night to open the season right last year.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, I remember, because I remember distinctly where I was when I was just when I got the notification that he was inactive.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, oh, no.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: And then like you said it kind of snowballed from there and so I think I think part of that is that right part of the concern here is Oh, no, this is what happened like I don't know.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: This is happening again I again, I tend to be a little bit more optimistic about it and be like, oh, well, maybe it's gonna be fine And they're just kind of kind of like There they know that they need him throughout the season and
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: if that means that he gets fewer touches in week one and they have to figure out a way to work Brian Robinson and and as a grando into the mix a little bit more to to allow him to have a full season like I guess the question is what would you prefer would you prefer 17 plus games of Christian McAfrey where maybe he touches it a little bit less or would you take like 13 games where he's just like all out
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: you know, everything throughout those games.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: I, I feel like I'd take the 17 plus me if it were me.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: I completely agree.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this is part of the reason why they traded for Bryan Robinson right is to have a guy you're like, okay, he's someone we think can be a starter in this league.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's like Kyle Shannon hands words right.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_01]: So if that's true, then if you really think you have a one A one B situation here.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: then you should definitely have both here or like, course is available.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I mean, I would be shocked and concerned if they really like, for every game they ride McAfrey.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I can understand like some games, he has like, he's like really killing it and you're like, okay, like, he's gonna be the reason he went.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: But they just have to manage him better than I think they did in 2023.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm just, I'll be really interested to see,
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: how what they do because I don't think they've really ever done a good job of that when it comes to the category.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think with every other running back they've had they've been really good about like okay we were gonna like rotate whatever.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: But McCaffrey it's just go go go.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: I mean they've certainly never other than with him There's never really been a situation where it's like, oh, that guy's definitely 100% better than the other guys It's been like well, maybe he's like 5% better than the other guys, so we'll give him more of the ball
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah, for sure.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: Um, all right.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: So from the Seahawks perspective, um, wind receiver Jake Bobo, that's just a truly, that's a name right there.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, coming out of the concussion protocol, he's been limited Wednesday Thursday, uh, a guard Anthony Bradford, uh, practice in Wednesday, but did not practice on Thursday.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a back injury.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: that would certainly be something to watch.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: Widersiver Tori Horton has an ankle injury, but he's been practicing Chenna Nguysu, the linebacker has a knee injury, he's been limited, Cody White, another Widersiver has a shoulder, he's been limited.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: And then as of Thursday, Rikwell won their corner back, he was, he has an illness, he didn't back to some Thursday, I suppose that will probably be something you'll be able to overcome.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: And then to Rikyoung,
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: another wider receiver, limited on Wednesday and didn't practice on Thursday with a hamstring.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_00]: That's, for those of you keeping track in home, that was four out of at a seven guys were in their wider seaver room.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: So, hey, you know, wider seaver troubles comes for us all, I guess.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, I suppose the difference being that you didn't say any of the top names for the
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, and, uh, Jackson Smith, Smith and the Jigba, uh, not on the list either.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: So it certainly messes with their depth, but not the top three guys as you know, I mean, I think like, there's a lot of names there where you're like, oh, like, that could be potentially like, like, I think Shannon and Wosa, that's, it's an edge rusher they have.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: That would be a concern.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think like, Rick Willen has been a guy, the 49ers, had really targeted.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: like when Dave like played the seahawks because they like attack him in the run game and it could be like he's like an athletic freak but I think the Niners have typically done well when he's on the field that's another that's like a big name but yeah I mean like no one on the level from the calf for you but a lot of like sort of nicks here and there will have to see in the same way that we're not really sure how it's going to play up for the 49ers
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: who actually ends up making it to Sunday and who doesn't.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: But hopefully, if McCaffrey's also healthy, this should be a best-unbest matchup.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: Which is what we want to see, right?
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like, as we say on this podcast, I'll podcast all the time.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: We're not really fans of the whole.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the other team is really, really hurt.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: So you kind of win by default.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: And that's not fun football.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: We want, we want to see Seattle at their best.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: And if the 49ers can't beat him, then the 49ers can't beat him.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: That's just the way it is.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: true true true.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's certainly a shorter list than the 49ers.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_00]: There's more than others list for sure.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's not what you want to see, but here we are.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to go ahead and so those of you who don't remember, because it's been a while since we've done a game preview because as you said, we didn't have any playoff games.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: So the last game we had was the first part of January.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: So it's been a while.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_00]: So the way we handle these these things is we bring some reasons for optimism and some reasons for concern and those are brought to you by our friends from Underdog Fantasy.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: Football is back and Underdog is the best place to make ticks and win money all season long.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_00]: Playing an underdog is easy.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: Just pick whether your favorite players will go higher or lower, on stats like touchdowns or seething yards, interceptions, and more get your picks right, and you can win up to 5,000 times your cash.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: You can play with his little as one dollar.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_00]: So now we'll send it over to Aksha as to tell us a little bit about using the underdog app.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, as I've mentioned a lot on the podcast, I really like using underdog.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: I think
- 15:25[SPEAKER_01]: it's a lot of fun.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's really easy to go through it and sort of pick which players you're interested, which games you're interested in.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's just right at the top you hit NFL, all the games are listed out.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited for this year because last year I didn't do particularly well on underdog, but New Year knew me and one thing in particular this week that I've been looking
- 15:52[SPEAKER_01]: which means maybe you shouldn't listen to me because I'm not very good at this.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: Is that I'm looking at former 49ers, player Debo Samuel, he has a rushing yards stat of I think 11 and a half, and I want to hire on that immediately.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think first game with a new team, he's gonna get a ton of action on jet sweeps and whatever, but underdog is super fun when I was making my picks today actually,
- 16:18[SPEAKER_01]: They gave me this thing called a supercharge where for less than, you know, doubling the amount of money I would have put in, they doubled my the amount of money I could win.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, that was nice.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: I like those odds.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not very good at it.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like, so I probably won't win anything anyway, but that was like, I think it's a really fun way to get into the games to like sort of take a look at players and some stats.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: You might be interested in, and you know, at that little extra.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: to watch and football as long as you do it responsibly, of course.

- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: Underdog, make picks win money.

- 17:42[SPEAKER_00]: All right, well, Oxa, as you were telling me before we started that you were you've forgotten the rhythm of this, so we're going to let you start your reason for optimism for the 49ers to win on Sunday.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: So Robert, when you mentioned our sort of like how the beginning of the season goes, I just remembered last year, I think the first five games.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_01]: My exact line for a reason of optimism was the 49ers are just better than these guys so like.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: They better win.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not going to do that this year.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, actual reasonable analysis here.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think my reason for optimism is I think the 49ers offense is going up against a defense.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_01]: It kind of struggles with Mike McDonald's scheme.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: But I trust Kyle Shanahan to be able to manufacture points in some regard.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not too concerned about that.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think the real sort of place where you're like, oh, what's going to happen is like,
- 18:36[SPEAKER_01]: With the 49ers defense, there's a lot of new faces, even though Robert Sala has returned.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_01]: But I just think that like the biggest thing with Seattle, the real question mark here, is the fact that they're running a completely brand new offense that they usually did.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: They brought in former 49ers staffer or Miss Saints offensive coordinator, Clint Kubiac, to run a shane hand scheme, they're gonna run the ball more.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_01]: They're really gonna be dedicated to the play action pass.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: They have Sam Darnold in XQB.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I actually think that gives the 49ers a bit of an advantage here, you know, this is an offensive scheme, does they're quite comfortable with obviously there's new ones that's the way sort of it works when you take a scheme and you put it in different teams and you adapt it to your personnel.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: And you put that up against an offense that is also still going to be trying to gel actually like the 49er's defense chances there I think if you can slow down Seattle make them uncomfortable by playing a strong defensive game the 49er's offense is like fine tuned right like even if.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: You know, those two alone, like, that's like seven points right there, right?
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: Joanne Jennings will probably be playing to Ricky Piersaw.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_01]: I trust that the offense can do enough.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the defense has a bit of an easier sort of like way to start the season off.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that's going to be, it's a good thing for the 49ers, ironically, that they're playing the Seattle Seahawx as opposed to, you know,
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: They might be able to get away with self-figuring things out on the fly, but they know what they're looking at.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, I think that makes sense.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there's a familiarity, a familiarity there, and that's easy for me to say.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: But also a little bit of like, foreign, but mostly from the, from the C-Hox perspective.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like, if there's a matchup where you go, oh, that team is going to be trying to grow into itself.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's the one place that you would look if you were trying to make that situation kind of fly.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm right there with you on that.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_00]: I was, I'm going to go with not necessarily what you did last year, but kind of like what we were talking about before, like it's it's a new season.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_00]: There is a sense of like health to this team generally speaking that we haven't seen all preseason.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think there, it's just like the unknown of week one kind of factors into that too.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: I also think that while we used to be really concerned about going up to Seattle and winning games, the 49 have actually been pretty good up there against the Seahawks last several times that they've been up there and they've played pretty well against Seattle for the last couple of seasons.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_00]: So the, the award of that has gone, we talked about how the, the,
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: There might be a higher percentage of 49ers fans in the building for the first time in maybe ever, as far as I can recall.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: It just seems like a lot of things are set up on top of the fact that the 49ers should be a better tuned machine in terms of the personnel and the scheme and all that kind of stuff to just be able to get the job done.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I agree.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think Seattle's no longer sort of,
- 22:23[SPEAKER_01]: the scary monster anymore.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, it's a good football team, but that sort of gives, that I think in the NFC Western general, you sort of see it and see it in this evening out, it used to be that like, you know, the Niners would beat the Rams, the Rams would beat the Seahawks, the Seahawks would beat the Niners, and then the Cardinals would kind of come in and beat someone.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone like, you would never really like, they were like, they were sort of a cadence to it all, and that's gone now, right?
- 22:54[SPEAKER_01]: We won Seattle like five years ago, you told me that's the game.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, Oh, well, this is a lot of times.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like, pack it up.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: It was a, I feel like maybe I won't even watch the game.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be that bad.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: But now I think that like you're right.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's just it's just another game.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: But I do think that like Seattle started to sort of get its momentum back last year.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, it's a very different team now.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: The Seahawks were basically pushovers and it would be kind of like it would be interesting to see a sort of almost existential crisis that like Seattle would have facing the 49ers because they would just get out physical like, yeah, they were it was just a different level of like teams, but I don't know if that's the case anymore.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know either.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_00]: It certainly seems like this is a team and in a weird fluxy place, right, like they got rid of DKMF and their placement was super coppoo.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: Like it probably still a good football player, right, but I mean he was already working at a disadvantage when he got into the league.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think well, let's see 20, so I then there's 26 or 27 when he started something like that.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's already 34.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think something in that range like he's in his load of mid 30 is already Clearly the Rams didn't think that he was worth keeping around and see how I'll kind of scoop them up
- 24:21[SPEAKER_00]: Um, to kind of pair with, uh, with, with, uh, I said Pookin' to Kua earlier.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's a ram.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what I was talking about.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_00]: That just occurred to me.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_00]: Um, what I was talking about their injuries.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't play for the, the C-hawks.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_00]: So it's really Cooper, uh, in, in Jackson Smith, the Jigba, um, what's the other, oh, shoot.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_00]: His name is completely slipped my mind.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: Um, the other, it's just those two now.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's really like it.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: Cause the, the other guys gone.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'll relax it as you know, I can start to see, yeah, yeah.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, man, he made that decision on purpose, gracious, yeah.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_00]: So they got rid of their two, they're one, two options over the last two seasons and they replaced them with, you know, an aging Cooper Cup where the Rams didn't want anymore.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_00]: And Jackson Smith is a jigsaw who I think has been generally considered like not a bust, but he's a disappointment from the base on his draft slot and everything.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_00]: So it'll be, and then we mentioned the,
- 25:18[SPEAKER_00]: the depth is getting hit pretty well and it doesn't really strike a lot of fear into you.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't know where on offense, you're gonna look at it and go, oh, well, they're gonna be really concerning.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: This is so, I've jumped in and just say like, I do think like, so this is my least favorite thing is when I say positive things about the enemies.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to, that's fine.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: No, that's true, but I do think like JSN, I believe lead the league and catches last year.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's a new sort of setup, yeah, but there's definitely like I think it's very it's versatile in a way that Seattle's offense wasn't before, right?
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like DK Mekhaff physical specimen of a player, right?
- 26:05[SPEAKER_01]: Incredible, like, go routes like long, yardish things, mossing people, and really good, but you wouldn't really think he wasn't the
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: in the slot per se, right?
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: Well, now I think you have two players who do a lot of very similar things in Cooper Cup and Jason, and that sort of allows the Seahawks to be a lot more versatile in their offense.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_01]: So, and this I guess sort of segway is nicely into my reason for concern, which is that, you know, I just spent
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: five minutes, two minutes talking about the fact that like, oh, Seattle's offense is new and they're probably jelly, but Seattle's offense is also new, right?
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like this is a, this is an offense that is predicated on like a very different mentality and is gonna be really different than what the 49ers have seen from Seattle.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, I think,
- 27:04[SPEAKER_01]: there's an easy default to sort of be like, oh, like, you know, Sam Darnell, that was just because he was a Kevin O'Connell.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_01]: He's very good at regress to the mean.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: But we don't know that, right?
- 27:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like, Sam Darnell might just be a good quarterback who just got an opportunity is now parlaying with it.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: Seattle has invested in their offensive line.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_01]: Kenneth Walker is a good running back.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: Zach Sharbin is a good backup.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like, they have
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: tools and weapons, I think, to stress the 49ers defense, particularly in the run game for the 49ers have been really bad at on defense.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I think there's a really, like, this is sort of my common sort of way I like thinking about the games, right?
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think about like, what do I think are possible ways this can play out?
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: What seems likely to me, based off what I know from both teams?
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: That's the game like they just like dominate time of possession.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_01]: And I do think that like Just like the 49ers have so I'm stealing this a little bit from Matt Barrows on the athletic.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: This was one of the things he was pointing out.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_01]: He said that he thought the game was going to become down to whether Seattle's revamped offensive line is better like
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: Vant, I suppose.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_00]: Then the better Vant, I like it.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers defensive line.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_01]: There's a 49ers of interest.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, exactly, right?
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: Both teams have rebuilt the trenches to stop the run to like run the ball.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: Stop the run and run the ball.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I really think this is just going to come down to can the 49ers.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_01]: Stop the run.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: Can they make this he hocks one dimensional?
- 28:45[SPEAKER_01]: Because I think
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers second dairy, especially against this team against Seattle, I think, as well equipped, this cattle doesn't have super tall receivers, right, like they don't have a DK Metcalf, they don't have these like Sort of like physical freaks, they have very savvy route runners, they have guys who get open, but the 49ers corners, I think are better equipped for that.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: Then for like the guy who's like six three and runs like a four four like that's just that's hard to beat unless you have a guy who's like Six one and runs a four four right like that you need You need those kind of athletes on your side and I don't know if the Niners have that in their secondary, but they do have guys who can get after with like slot receivers with like route runners.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_01]: But
- 29:39[SPEAKER_01]: Then you add on to that, the fact that like Kyle Shayna hand is not had a great track record against Mike McDonald and like that defensive scheme.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's a good defensive scheme that they go up against is Seattle like super super talented on the defensive side.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean they're building up, but this is not like I wouldn't say this is a defense that you're immediately like, oh boy, I'm not really sure if they can handle it.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: But it's a good defense, right?
- 30:03[SPEAKER_01]: And like,
- 30:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think the 49ers defense has to be the one to like carry this win.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: And if Seattle's able to like get it going on offense, I really think that the whole the wheel sort of fall off a bit.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_01]: So it'll be that I guess my roundabout reason.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: Concerned.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: If Seattle can run the ball this game like.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't actually think the 49ers are going to be able to, like if this game goes to shoot out with Seattle running the ball, I don't actually know the 49ers are able to compete.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think they really have to be able to control the trenches.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't think anybody is ever completed the concept of a shootout with a running the ball, but neither left.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_00]: Neither here nor there.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_00]: I should also correct you for the record that Jackson Smith, Nigigo, was 27 catches off the lead league.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_00]: Jermar Chase had 127 catches the last check in this.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, yeah, that's a lot.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's nuts.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_00]: uh yeah I mean I look it's no fun to say nice things about the team that you know like especially this particular team that you did though we don't like because this one is I think grown in sort of the negative estimation um I don't know about you but I'm sort of in like this like Seattle and the Rams are like
- 31:23[SPEAKER_00]: blue, like all the time, and the cardinals are like that your cute little brother who just wants some mess with you, and it's just like, just go away, go away, like stop being a pain.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of my perspective on the division of the last couple of seasons, but it's funny before you started, you went in on your unreasoned for a concern.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_00]: I was thinking about like my reason for optimism, an additional reason for optimism was
- 31:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I was going to say, like almost exactly the same thing about that you said about like he was in a really good place last year full of like on a team just completely full of like super stars like that that Minnesota like the offense is good like it's really good and the coaching staff is good and all that stuff and
- 32:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think this is going to be really a really telling season four sand Arnold, right?
- 32:17[SPEAKER_00]: Like if he does well and he kind of started the falloff last season and that was kind of why they floundered in the playoffs and all that kind of stuff.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_00]: But if he plays maybe not to that level, because I don't know that the supporting cast is there enough on this team necessarily to like help him elevate to that point.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_00]: But I think, you know, at that point we can maybe start saying,
- 32:38[SPEAKER_00]: He was in a bad situation over his last over his the beginning of his career and then we'll also Ironically have to brew the fact that Kyle Shanahan helped fix him so he could screw with us for the next five seasons Which would just be like the irony of ironies Anyway, yeah, I mean, I'm certainly right there with you like in terms of like they do there is there is something that there are things that they can do That are probably going to be frustrating and it's really going to be down to
- 33:08[SPEAKER_00]: have the 49ers improve their run defense enough to, like, keep them from just controlling the ball.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_00]: Because if they can, while you have to be worried about the Mike McDonald system, as you also alluded to, Seattle probably doesn't have the players, like Baltimore did when they absolutely
- 33:26[SPEAKER_00]: Um, destroyed us a couple of seasons ago.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_00]: Um, like so it doesn't strike that as much fear into you on that front.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_00]: And so I feel like if the Niners can get a grip on the game defensively, then this feels like a game they're just going to be able to take control of if they can do that.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I agree.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I think that like Seattle is building right now and I don't like,
- 33:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just sort of remembering last year, which is very annoying and super unfun when they see Addle usually.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I just like, I guess like my other reason for concern is that like maybe the Niners just suck at like closing games out forever now and that's like their eternal curse.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: And then nothing we say even matters because they'll just lose like they did like all of last year.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_00]: But you've gone too far.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's too dark to see me.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_01]: But no, I mean, like I agree with you.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like, it's a schematic battle.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think really at the end of the day on the Ford Anderson's office versus Seattle's defense, I think it's like a personnel like talent battle for your nine-ish defense versus Seattle's offense.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_01]: And like, as of right now, I don't know who wins that.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: I would like it to be the nine-hours.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_01]: They'll be really great.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_01]: I love nothing more than us coming for a recap podcast and being like, wow, we were really done.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_01]: This was an issue at all.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what we were thinking about, but like, I don't know, like a genuinely right now.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not convinced that like, necessarily, that the Niners have like, have the horses on the defensive line to like stand up to Seattle's own.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_01]: to stand up to a rushing attack.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: So it's really a prove it.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: They've got to prove it.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I mean, it's more or less what I was saying at the beginning, right?
- 35:27[SPEAKER_00]: There's so many unknowns.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_00]: And true, both teams, I would say, in some regard, there's just a lot of, a lot we don't know about what these teams are going to be and whether or not it's going to work.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_00]: And so fortunately, we're going to have to wait and see.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't feel, wow, we rode the Niners are better for a month and a half last year.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_00]: And you're immediately like into darkness mode here and before we get to week one,
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, I'm last year they're coming off the super balls like the other better that they keep on losing and I'm like guys, I think they might not be better anymore, but it might not take you a while to get there them.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like you didn't arrive at they're not maybe they're not better for for a couple of weeks.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, because they lose.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, losing in stupid ways.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_00]: And then, although, you know, in fairness, we should have seen it come in when they'd won week one with like 92 vial goals that probably should have been the sign of things to come, but neither here nor in there, all right.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_00]: Well, so we are going to be expanding the prediction portion of this particular podcast for this year.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_00]: We've been doing a lot of the same things over the course of
- 36:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's existence, and so we're still going to do score predictions, and then Aksha's was like, here's an idea, let's see, just for fun, and we'll see if this works, this will be very interesting.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_00]: Let's do a prediction on who will be the 49ers 7 in active on game day.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_00]: We can base this on injuries, where are the over
- 37:12[SPEAKER_00]: Where are there too many players where they're just not going to carry this many guys on on the roster for a game day, whatever it is that you want to do.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_00]: So how do we want to do this one at a time, back and forth with the score, let's do the inactive first because that that with the score should still be the final thing.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_00]: Are you prepared to do this or do you want me to go first?
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: I can I'll give it a little whirl.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's see how you go.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so seven inactive's, yeah, I think there's a couple easy ones Jordan walkins is heard you tell gross Matos because he's also heard Jordan James because he's also heard there we go.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: This three right there.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: Then I'm going to go Drew Moss Because I don't think like I think he's a long-term play.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't expect them to see much of any action.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: So From there, I'm going to say
- 38:10[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan Jefferson, the the newest defensive tackle.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think he probably still needs to get tuned into the team.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_01]: Then Darrell Luther or like Darrell Luther or Chase Lucas.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: I think it'll be one of them, but I'm not really sure who I think they've been like training Lucas for insider outside.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: This one is the heart, this seventh one is hard because I feel like for the team typically I'd go with a wide receiver, another wide receiver, but now I don't really know who I'm going to say Robert Biel.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_00]: That'll be nice, seven.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_00]: Very interesting, because we were pretty close there for a long time.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_00]: So I had Utergras Matos, we mentioned he's not a reportedly not practicing again today, so that's twice this week.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_00]: So pretty likely he's not going to play Jordan James still, he is practicing in a limited perspective, but I can't imagine that they're ready to throw him out in the game yet.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 39:20[SPEAKER_00]: his inclusion on the roster and not going on IR probably just says he's a week or two away.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm right there with you.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_00]: I also had Jordan Jefferson and Jordan Watkins and Drew Moss on my list as well.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_00]: And then I went, this is my bias.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_00]: Then I'm also the guy who said that they were going to carry
- 39:43[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I actually my other two are both offensive linemen as well.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_00]: Although I flirted with the dera alluter thing for a little bit.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_00]: I was like They just don't have that many defensive backs and it would feel like Like it feels like they're gonna need all 10 of them in some capacity on game days But I could certainly I certainly wouldn't be surprised if it was dera alluter, but I went to goodman went Matt Hennessy and Austin Pleasant
- 40:10[SPEAKER_00]: Do I feel great about that now?
- 40:12[SPEAKER_00]: They had to see when I kind of feel fine with.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like they are comfortable enough with my brain as stopped working in a minute.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_00]: Connor Colby has maybe has some opportunities.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, it depends on how they think about that.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of what I was thinking is that he could be like an interior swing guy and they had the swing tackle and then they have a third interior guy as well.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I don't feel like great about either and see your awesome presence as the 6th and 7th guy.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_00]: I did think about another defensive lineman but I'm also like, they need the bodies there.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_00]: Robert Biel or even Samuel Goannu or something, but it's something like that.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't be surprised if that's the direction that I went to, but yeah, I think we're mostly in lockstep there.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_00]: And that's like, is that very easy?
- 41:08[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_01]: We have like four injuries.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_01]: What we're also not accounting for.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: And the reason why I was thinking about this is because with the practice squad rules that came about a couple years ago, there's a lot more flexibility on who you're calling up from the practice squad and what that does for who's going to be
- 41:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that like, yeah, I don't know who the Niners would call up from the practice squad, but it would be interesting, like if they call up a defensive line then they have there, maybe that lets them, you know, Citadel, Robert Biel, if they call up an offensive, et cetera, et cetera, like there's a lot of different, somewhat fun ways they can sort of mess around with it.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_00]: My thought was, so, if Jordan Wat can sit, which I kind of anticipate that he will.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_00]: So that basically, he's joining Skymore Ricky Pierce all and Mark has bowed his scantling as your wider severs.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_00]: So my, I'm thinking somewhere in that mix, either Russell Gage or Robbie Chosen is gonna get an elevation, because I still think they want five or five receivers, and maybe they'd prefer to have Jordan Wat
- 42:18[SPEAKER_00]: So I could see something like that where he's a guy where Watkins sits and Russell Gage or Ravi Chosen is an option that they bring in to play because they could play I think at that point it kind of depends like who do you feel most comfortable possibly running out there on special teams or something like that?
- 42:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know so then I think like this is getting a little into the weeds.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: I do think the least Turner could be a call up.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, special teams.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, we'll have to see that's the
- 42:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, some of that is like how comfortable is MVS with the offense because he's your fourth receiver and we know they don't run for receiver sets, but he's basically one
- 42:58[SPEAKER_00]: small injury or one guy needed a blow away from being out on the field and just like how do you feel with that mix of guys?
- 43:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_00]: It'll be kind of depend on what their expectations are and who do they need to fit where and all that comes up.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_00]: We're getting deep into it.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_00]: For sure.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_00]: So first score prediction of the season, Oksha's, what do you think?
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: to this podcast for the time I've been on it, know that my typical refrain is that optimism and concern, you're basically, you're always going to hear me and be like, wow, this guy is really think the Niners suck.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way he can think of it when.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_01]: And then my predictions are almost always Homerish because I feel very bad predicting against the Niners.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: So that's continuing this year.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think like, I think that like,
- 43:57[SPEAKER_01]: I, I would not, I don't really like predicting against the Niners week one.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_01]: I do think this is a weird game.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_01]: I, like, I don't think it's going to be like non competitive in either direction.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think it'll be a close game, but I think the receiver room is actually sorted itself out nicely.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_01]: I like the running back situation, even if McAfrey doesn't play.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think Brian Robinson can add them add something to them.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_01]: I think Brock Perty is going to show us a different level or he better now that he's making 50 million a year 50 50 that's true that actually three is all the difference I mean, it would for me.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely and then like I don't know like I feel confident enough that the defense with Robert Sala is going to do enough to sort of make Sam Donald's life miserable.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_01]: 27 21 Niners victory.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't feel like it crews to me, but I think it
- 45:01[SPEAKER_01]: It'll be like 27, 24 or 44.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_00]: It was like garbage time touchdown.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so it'll look nicer than it was.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_00]: All right, fair enough.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, we're, we are not shy about the fact that this is, I mean, we're on a network called fan-sided folks.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_00]: What do you expect from us?
- 45:19[SPEAKER_00]: We try to be reasonable in our analysis, but also we want our team to win.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_00]: And that's just kind of the way it is.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_00]: I went 28, 13.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, I'm going the other but I'm thinking maybe the other direction like in terms of like what you're talking about like if if it's that much of a Of a gap it'll be something like where it's close and then all of a sudden nine or score 10 points in the fourth quarter and pull away and you're like, oh, okay Then you you exhale and you feel okay, but you're just like, oh man those first three quarters are annoying.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's not do that again kind of thing
- 45:52[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, well, so now I feel like we haven't even talked about my biggest reason for concern, is that if the Niners need to kick a, I don't know, yeah, well, you noticed, I didn't, I went with the score total that didn't require field goals, this is, I feel, I didn't think about that.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, when I was thinking about the number, because I went back and forth, I was like 24, 28, 24, 28, I was like, let's just score touchdowns, like no, none of this nonsense.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they need a two-point conversion in there because Moody misses an extra point.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, boy.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_00]: No, I mean.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_01]: I think that like, I think this is going to be a higher scoring game than would be expected.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_01]: I have that feeling.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I'm wrong, but part of me just feels like
- 46:42[SPEAKER_01]: This is a game where I feel like defensive execution is going to be a little less sort of crisp than offense of execution, especially on the niner side.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's definitely true.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think the niner's offense is going to look much better than their defense right because it's all it knew where a lot of newer guys and defense and makes it so I don't know I'll be I'm excited though.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_01]: I can't wait.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, for something.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_00]: All right, well, with that, I think that's a good place to end.
