Joel chapter 2 and there's a lot to think about here.

I'm not going to have the answers for sure, but there's a

lot to think about. So let's get started with the

prayer. Dear God, please be with us as

we go through this chapter because it requires Holy Spirit

revelation to us. Please let open our eyes, let us

understand, let us take to heart the things that are stated in

this chapter. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

So this starts out calling the an army of locust.

Blow the trumpet in Zion, sound the alarm on my holy hill.

So Zion's another word or another name for Jerusalem.

Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the Lord

is coming. It is close at hand.

A day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness,

like dawn spreading across the mountains.

A large and mighty army comes. Such has such as never was in

ancient times, nor ever will be in ages to come.

Now when we read this, that should trigger another

recollection of something that was stated by Jesus, where he

said that it says in Matthew chapter 24 verse 21.

For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the

beginning of the world until now, and never to be equaled

again. So when Jesus was talking about

this, there's going to be great distress.

It's going to be never ever seen before.

Think about this. We have experienced world wars

and lots of traumatic things in the past, but it is going to

this great distress is going to be unequaled from the beginning

of the world. Think about any natural disaster

that's happened in the world like this is going to be greater

than that. And then secondly, it's never

going to be equaled again. Never.

Like this will be the very worst experience that anyone has ever

had in their lives or in the future lives or in past lives.

This is going to be the worst. So Joel, again, let's keep in

mind when Joel was written, he was written before Isaiah and

his ministry was in Judah from 8:35 to 796 BC.

And so God is revealing. It says somewhere that God does

nothing without revealing it to his prophets.

Like we've all been warned if we don't read the Bible, then we're

ignorant of it. But the Bible warns us about

what's coming. And think about this.

This is like almost 3000 years ago.

I mean, if you're talking about 835 BC and we're in the 2000s

right now, that's almost 3000 years ago that this warning has

been given and it's a warning blowing the trumpet in Zion.

So when the trumpet is blown, there's a lot of things.

If you if, when I read the Old Testament, I realized that how

the tribes were set up, there were different purposes for the

trumpet. The trumpet sound would call an

assembly would call people together and then there was
3:40
another trumpet that would be to go out.

So they kind of there could be trumpets for different meanings

to go out to war. It could either be to call all

of the people together so they can assemble or for them to go

out to war. And so those were the two

things. And then of course, it's, you

know, at different festivals, the trumpets are sounded, but

it's almost like it's some sort of, it's an alert for sure.

And I think of the the seven trumpets in the Book of

Revelation as warnings. They're like consecutive

warnings that things just keep getting worse and worse and

worse. And when I've compared it to the

seal in the Book of Revelation that are not the seals, the

bulls, the bulls of wrath, when I compare it to that, it's like

it's similar, but it's like the trumpets come first, then the

seals come later. It's like a partial, like, it's
4:38
kind of like a warning, like the trumpets, the warning, and then
4:40
the seal is the complete devastation.

So it's like a little bit like here's what's coming and then

the next thing comes and I, I don't really know the sequence
4:51
of how the, the trumpets and the bulls happen.

I, I, I think it's like, I think they might be consecutive, but

I'd have to go back and study it again.

That's been highly debated along among many scholars of the

Bible, like the sequence of events that are talked about in

the Book of Revelation. And we'll kind of get into that

because those, this book of Joel does kind of talk about those

things. And I think what we have to do

is take the Bible in totality and look at all of the
5:25
information that's provided. And then we can, we can somewhat

see the timeline of events. And again, I think I think this

might show some of that, but it also leads me to question and
5:39
I'd have to look deeper to come up with a conclusion.

So it'll give you things to ponder and things to

investigate. And I'd love to have comments

If you look into this and you find facts that support a

statement of timing, share that with everybody because we're all

looking. And I think seems like, gosh,

after all these years, somebody should be able to figure out

some of the stuff, the sequence of it by reading the whole

Bible. And especially when we have

these electronic Bibles that you can find keywords and find all

of the places where these things are mentioned so that you can

draw these correlations anyway. So I do think that this, this

what Joel is speaking is about the end times because it says

the day of the Lord is coming. I don't you know, this is this

is I don't believe this to be some event that happened in the

past because it says that it's never, you know, this time is

going to be like never before and never to come in verse 2.

And it's a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and

Behind them a flame blazes. So there's going to be like

there's going to be flames and fire.

And actually I wanted to go back because when Jesus was talking

about the worst ever, I think it's good to read it in context

because Jesus gives a very to me clear timeline of events.

So he said in Matthew 24, verse 15.

So when you see standing in the holy place and and I think we

should go back to the Greek and it says standing in the holy

place. It doesn't say temple, it says

holy place. And I think a lot of people, I

don't know from hearing it, they start repeating it and they

start talking about that the temple has to be built first

because for this to happen, that's not the case.

It just says the holy place. So when you see standing in the

holy place, the abomination that causes desolation.

So it's something that God set calls an abomination.

And there's several things that God calls an abomination.

In fact, I, I might just look that word up right now because

it's they're abomination. I didn't do that ahead of time,

obviously, and it just came to mind.

But OK, it's five times that abomination is used in the NIV

version. So this is in Daniel.

Oh, wow. Ironically, it's in Daniel and

it's in Matthew. So in Daniel 927, it says he

will confirm a covenant with many for 1/7.

In the middle of the seven. He will put an end to sacrifice

and offering. And OK, now here's where the

temple comes in, at the temple. And then let's see what it says

So in the Septuagint and the Theodosian, it says Hebrew wing.

In Hebrew it says wing. So and at the wing it doesn't

say temple. So that's something that the

translation issue that really throws everybody off.

So somewhere on a wing, on a side, it could be, you know, on

the holy place, it's going to, you know, perhaps I think it's

going to be somewhere maybe on the Temple Mount, but it doesn't

have to have a temple. But it's when there's something

that gets set up. So let me read this again.

What Daniel says, and I'm going to not use the word temple

because in the situation and the Theodosian, it says he and

Hebrew, it says wing. OK, so he will confirm a

covenant. Confirm.

OK, he's not creating one. He's confirming or as others

have pointed out and said that he will, he will strengthen a

covenant he will make. Let's see, Gabar is the word and

Gabar is to prevail, strengthen, confirm, exceed, you know, to,

to validate valiant. So he will confirm a covenant.

So there's a covenant that's already there and he's

confirming it for a period of seven.

Now it, it's not 7 days, it's not 7, you know, it's a period

of seven. And, and when we think about a

period of seven, I don't know that we can absolutely say that.

It's like, I guess that's another one that comes into

translation because the NIV says for a period of seven and then

it says for one week Sibulla or Sibulla and it it means a week

or seven. And it so in Genesis chapter 29

verse 27, the word is used. This period of seven Shibua is

used in Genesis chapter 29, verse 27, it says finish this

daughter's bridal week. Then we will give you the

So this week is a year and I think a lot of people get that,

you know, there has been concluded by theologians.

But so this had to do with Jacob and Rachel and Leah.

So remember, he finished the week with Leah.

So he finished the seven years with Leah.

And then Laban gave him his daughter Rachel to be his wife

after another seven. Now this is interesting too,

because this is something that I I I relate the second coming to

as well. It in Exodus chapter 34 verse

22, it says celebrate the festival of weeks with the first

fruits of the wheat harvest and the festival of in gathering at

the turn of the year. So it's like 2 two celebrations

are emphasized here. Remember the first fruits of the

wheat harvest and the festival of the inn gathering like the

grapes at the turn of the year. So there's two different

harvest, basically there's the spring harvest and the fall

harvest. And we know that Jesus went to

return to the Lord in the spring harvest.

And so people are presuming that in the fall harvest, it will be

when this gathering of people will happen, the gathering of

those who have prepared themselves.

And that could be, but you know, I that could be true.

But I also, I think we should just keep an open mind because

what if, you know, Jesus was the first fruit?

Does that mean that there's going to be another gathering at
13:45
the springtime harvest and then another gathering at the fall?

I think it's just something we should keep our our minds open

to. And people say, well, he doesn't

come multiple times. He only comes once.

Yeah. But think about what happened to

Elijah. He was brought up to him and

everybody knew about it. That's a very interesting story

to read about Elijah and Elijah. Elijah and Elijah and Elijah

went up in a whirlwind with the Lord and are in the Chariots.

That's what it said. Like he didn't experience a

death. He was just.

And it wasn't like it was a sudden storm that came upon the

land and a tornado that hit and took him.

No, all the people that were there were telling his protege,

if you want to call it, or his next in line, they were telling

him, hey, do you know Elijah is going to be taken?

Like this was known somehow. People knew this was going to

happen and multiple people witnessed it.

They knew in advance what the Bible says.

They knew this was going to happen in advance.

And then it happened. Everybody was prepared for it.

It wasn't like, Oh my goodness, what happened?

No, they knew this was coming. And so I, I do again, this is

another time where And then Leviticus 12 verse 5.

If she gives birth to a daughter for two weeks, the woman will be

unclean as during her period then she must wait 66 days to be

purified from her bleeding. I do think there's something

prophetic here. There's a literal thing and then

there's a, there's a, a literal and a symbolic.

And that's something that I am not prepared to talk about

because I haven't been, I haven't been given the
15:35
revelation from the Holy Spirit about that.

But there's something that makes me question this, you know,

'cause Jacob, he worked for seven years.

He was hoping to get Rachel, but then Laban swapped out Rachel

for Leah and then he had to work another seven years.

So it's like there's two periods of seven years and I just, you

know, I don't know, I think we should just keep that in mind

and and also loosen up the things that we take as doctrine

because things that we get taught are sometimes, you know,

other people's beliefs are passed on.

But if we read the Bible and we ask God for the Holy Spirit to

enlighten us, we may see things that people before didn't have.

And you know, it's just God taking the blinders off of us

because we're all blind. You know, we don't all get it

right. But it's just, and I don't

understand this. I haven't come to a conclusion,

but I do see that there seems to be a pattern here that I think

it means something. In Numbers 28, verse 26, it says

on the day of first fruits. Kind of interesting.

It's talking about that too when you present to the Lord an

offering of new grain during the festival of weeks, hold a sacred

assembly and do no regular work. So this is interesting too

because when it says in this book, later on, it says call a

sacred assembly. This is in verse 15, which we

haven't gotten to yet, but I wonder if that's like the

festival of weeks. So I'm going to just write that

down because that was when a sacred assembly and do no

regular work. So I don't know if this is

referring to that time period or not.

And then listen to this too in Deuteronomy chapter 16, verse 9,

count off 7 weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to

the standing grain. So that's another interesting

thing. So there's the grain harvest,

the spring harvest. And then Deuteronomy 1610 says

then celebrate the festival of weeks to the Lord by giving a

free will offering in proportion to the blessings the Lord has

given to you three times. This is important for us.

Deuteronomy 1616. Three times a year, all your men

must appear before the Lord your God at the place he will choose.

The first one is the Festival of Unleavened Bread.

That's at the time of Passover. The next one is the festival of

weeks and the and the last one is the festival of Tabernacles.

No one should appear before the Lord empty handed.

So it looks like there's three significant festivals that we

need to pay attention to. And, and just to make note of

those time frames, there's a really great resource and the

let's see the Dead Sea Scroll calendar.

The website is, but you can look and see what dates, the what

dates we have on the Gregorian calendar, what the Jewish

calendar is and what the Essenes calendar was that was found in

the Dead Sea Scrolls. And so there's there's

interesting time periods when you look at that.

I mean, I think there's something that we we can learn

from those things or we can notice patterns and see that

there's significant times and note when it it's just very

interesting to to have as a resource is what I'll say.

And, and I don't know what calendar God goes by, but it the

group that put together the Dead Sea Scroll calendar said that

all of the prophecies were fulfilled according to the Dead
19:42
Sea Scrolls calendar. So our calendars got mixed up,

but this is like the ancient calendar.

So again, it's just furthering our knowledge of what's in the

Bible and using the resources that have come come about.

Now in Second Chronicles chapter 8, verse 13, it says according

to the daily requirement for offerings commanded by Moses for

the Sabbath, the New moons and the three annual festivals, the

Festival of unleavened bread, the Festival of Weeks and the

Festival of tabernacles. Those are important time frames

that seem to be keep. You know, whenever there's a

this Shabua, it's talking about those time frames.

And Jeremiah 524 they do not say to the South, Let us fear the

Lord our God, who gives autumn and spring rains in season, who

assures us of the regular weeks of harvest.

Then in Ezekiel 45 verse 21, in the first month on the 14th day

you are to observe Passover, a festival lasting 7 days, during

which you shall eat bread made without yeast.

And then Daniel 92470 sevens are decreed for your people and your

holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to

sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting

righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the

Most holy Place. People have been studying this

for a long time and nobody, you know, trying to put a time frame

on this 77 or 70 shabuas are declared.

Is it, you know, there's I'm not prepared to talk about that one

either. But and then Daniel 925 says no

one understand this. From the time the word goes out

to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the anointed 1 the ruler

comes, there will be 7 sevens and 62 sevens.

It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench.

But in times of trouble and then after the 62 sevens, the

anointed one will be put to death and will have nothing.

That's referring to Jesus. Lots of scholars say that the

people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and

the sanctuary. So that's true because it was

the temple was actually destroyed.

Jesus died in the 30s AD and then the temple was destroyed in

the round the 70 AD, so like 40 years later, which is

interesting. 40, you know, the time of testing.

So it was destroyed that many years later it says the end will

come like a flood, war will continue until the end and

desolations have been decreed. Jesus says the same thing.

Like it's going to be rumors of war, wars and rumors of war all

the way till the end. Just like Daniel, like nothing

has changed. We are not going to have peace.

When they say peace and safety comes about sudden destruction,

that's probably the next thing that happens with which all of

us will witness. We're in a time period of war

absolutely. Now there's going to be a point

when somebody claims peace and people will believe it, but

they're going to be deceived because that's going to be

sudden destruction. So Daniel 9/27, he will confirm

a covenant with many for 1/7 in the middle of the seven, he will

put an end to the sacrifice and offering.

And at the, we'll say the wing, he will set up an abomination

that causes desolation until the end that is poured out on him.

And that's a couple other things that says at that at that time.

I, Daniel, mourned for three weeks.

I don't know how long that was. 3 Shabua.

I ate no food, no meat or wine touched my lips.

And I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over.

So I don't know if that means three years, you know, Shabuas,

because I don't know, or three sevens.

I'm there's a lot to interpret here.

So a lot of what I'm saying today isn't going to bring any

new revelation, but it's more like makes them makes us think

about things like how do we really understand what is

written in the Bible here? So but anyway, getting back to

the abomination, I'm going to go back to the the verses that talk

about abomination. We already said he will confirm

a covenant with many for 1/7 in the middle of the seven.

He will put an end to sacrifice and offering and at the wing he

will set up an abomination that causes desolation until the end

that is decreed is poured out on him.

So I guess he's going to be successful until until God says

that enough his in Daniel 1131, his armed forces will rise up to

desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily

sacrifice. Then they will set up the

abomination that causes desolation.

So it sounds like his armed forces will rise up to do

something to the temple fortress.

I'm curious whether it actually says temple in the translation.

Yeah, So it doesn't say temple here.

It says the sanctuary. It's called Mikdash, and it

means sanctuary, holy place, Chapel or hallowed part.

So some sacred, a holy place. So it's a holy place again, the

temple. It's a translation issue.

The temple doesn't need to be built yet, so they will.

That is and what it says and I'm trying to go back to.

So the daily sacrifices will be abolished and the abomination

that causes desolation. So somehow this abomination

desolation is set up, there will be 1290 days.

interesting. But this gives specific time

frames and it's in a different chapter in Daniel 12.

And it says from the time that daily sacrifice is abolished.

The abomination is set up. There will be about 3 1/2 years

When you see standing in the holy place the abomination that

verse 14, it says when you see the abomination that causes

understand. Then let those who are in Judea

flee to the mountains. So that's an instruction of

anybody who's in Israel is supposed to flee to the

mountains when this abomination, whatever it is, is set up.

And this is when that great distress is going to happen.

OK, so we I'm jumping around a lot.

I know if I go back again to what Jesus said in Matthew

chapter 24 verse 15, here's where we're going to go through

the sequence of events that Jesus talked about.

So when you see standing in the holy place, the abomination that

causes desolation spoken of through the prophet Daniel, let

the reader understand. Then let those who are in Judea

flee to the mountains. So people in Israel need to flee

to the mountains when they realize what this abomination is

that causes desolation. And it's like, don't do

anything, just go to the mountains is what it says.

So in verse 17, let no one on the housetop go down to take

anything out of the house. Let no one in the field go back

to get their cloak. How dreadful it will be in those

days for pregnant women and nursing mothers.

Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the

Sabbath, for then there will be great distress, unequalled from

the beginning of the world until now, and never to be equaled

again. Now listen to this.

If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive.

But for the sake of the elect, those days will be shortened.

Shortened. So Jesus is, is not going to let

what is planned go out to fulfillment.

Not all of it, some of it's going to happen.

It's going to be really bad, worst ever in the whole world,

but those days are going to be cut short.

The days of tribulation, great tribulation, that's what people

call tribulation. At that time, if anyone says to

you look here is the Messiah or there he is, do not believe it.

So at that time when this abomination of desolation is

happening, if anybody's saying this is the Messiah, don't

believe it. Jesus is telling it for false

messiahs and false prophets. That's the other thing.

We have to be really cognizant of that There will be false

prophets, people who hear, but maybe they hear from evil

spirits and not from God. So false messiahs and false

prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to

deceive if possible, even the elect.

This is like Jesus says. See, I have told you ahead of

time. So if anyone tells you there he

is out in the wilderness, do not go out, or here he is in the

inner rooms, do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from

the east is visible even in the West, so it will be at the

coming. So will be the coming of the Son

of Man. So people are going to see he's

going to be up in the sky. Jesus will be up in the sky and

everyone will see it. So any kind of human here on

earth that's claiming to be a Messiah is a false one.

Don't believe it. And this is a warning given to

us a few thousand years ago. We could pay attention to it or

we can ignore it. Wherever there is a carcass

there, the vultures will gather. Now, immediately after the

distress of those days, so that distress is going to come about.

Now, here's something else that we really need to pay attention

to in terms of sequence. So this sacrifices are stopped,

the abomination is set up, people need to immediately flee
31:47
to the mountains. And then there's going to be
31:50
something that is going to be the worst distress that has ever
31:54
been experienced ever on this earth or ever in the future.

And Jesus says immediately after the distress of those days, the

sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the

stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be

shaken. Do you remember that?

Jesus said once more, will I shake everything?

And I'm going to shake the the our God, you know, God said that

the, you know, the heavens and the earth will be shaken.

Now listen, OK, So the distress happens, the sun gets darkened.

The moon doesn't give its light. The stars fall from the sky.
