Transcript
- 0:04Okay, Hi Poslactis. We're actually here in front of the Secretary General's home
- 0:10of the United Nations. The United Nations with one hundred and ninety three countries.
- 0:15Many of those countries are in the Middle East. As you all know,
- 0:20we've been involved with the peace movement my entire life. But in addition
- 0:24we have for twenty two years we've been doing peace conserence in Central Park here
- 0:28in Times Square. So this organization with Shawnee Okay, Hostages Families Forum and
- 0:40there's their pr code. So tell us a little bit about the organization and
- 0:46why you're here. An organization is the headquarters of the Family's way too many
- 0:53families that they're eleven one fourth in Costa on over seven and the massacre that's
- 0:59so musted in it, and there are families from different nationalities, from five
- 1:04different religions. It's not only an Israeli or a Jewish inner thing, but
- 1:11the headquarters sits in Israel and we are their branch here any more. Ah
- 1:15okay, And this started after October seventh, this group, and we're fighting
- 1:25for the release of our luck ones and we're supporting the families that are in
- 1:33pure agony. Waiting for their loved ones to return to them. This is
- 1:38by far a terrible, terrible scenario. Unfortunately, the Jewish community for three
- 1:48thousand years has always had some stress and strain from others, even though we're
- 1:55all Homo sapien brothers and sisters. Seems not to make sense, you know,
- 2:00Shahnny just gave me actually a pin here, a yellow yellow ribbon.
- 2:08It's the sign for the It's a global sign, an international sign for the
- 2:14release of hostages, and it's our sign. And go with yellow ribbons wherever
- 2:20we go. I think you can see. Also in front of the Secretary
- 2:23there's house, there's always a yellow ribbon. It's raining now, so it's
- 2:29oh really okay. Well, I ironically, way back when Vietnam I also
- 2:38did the Woodstock and that was a concerning time for America to be involved with
- 2:46a war scenario, and we had something called the POW's Prisoners of War,
- 2:53which is similar in certain respects, however not as drastic and in other respects
- 3:00as what has occurred here and the yellow ribbon. I so havepen worked with
- 3:06Tony Orlando. He wrote a song ti Yellow Ribbon around the old oak Tree.
- 3:12An oak tree is stability. We need stability on Mother Earth. What
- 3:16do you think here, Shohnny, to make our lovely planet. I'm gonna
- 3:23go here too. This is Mother Earth. There's actually literally no borders and
- 3:28boundaries. What do you think we could all do to have more peace?
- 3:30Let's say peace right there in that area of concern. As a piece fighter
- 3:38that has always been one that also lost. I also lost my own grandmother
- 3:45to terror, which only made my family more kind of peace spiders to me.
- 3:53The word piece now within the region between these road and Gaza is nothing
- 4:00we can talk about for this in this in the in the short term.
- 4:05There's no faith now in both sides. The destruction and the pain is so
- 4:15big, so deep. Peace is something to hope for and to fight for,
- 4:23and it has to be the mission, it has to be the cause.
- 4:28But it's nothing we can see in short term. Unfortunately, it's it's
- 4:33just not going to happen anytime soon. I'm saying it with a very heavy
- 4:38heart. That's the truth. For now. I hope that people in Gaza
- 4:44will stand against come us. I hope that people in Israel now that you
- 4:46can in any way compare right, But I hope we in Israel will have
- 4:51a better leadership, and I hope both people will be able to fight together
- 4:57for peace. It's nothing that we're gonna see and it's okay. So I
- 5:02thank you for sharing that, and I am praying as a as a fellow
- 5:08brother and sister and everybody else all in this together that it it does come
- 5:15soon. But that I also say, how women, and I hope that
- 5:20the hostages will be released. I think if they won't be released very soon,
- 5:26the chances for a peace or getting foreign well, we're hearing things,
- 5:31you know in the news about that. I received something this morning from the
- 5:38Pope who can also be helpful here in that area, and condemning the terrorist
- 5:46attacks and desiring peace and the release of the hostages. And so with the
- 5:54spirit of this whole group that was here, I'm a little late getting cross
- 5:58town and continued work to keep a peaceful Israel and uh and and a peaceful
- 6:09Palestine. And are however these areas so become I'm not I'm a John Lennonist,
- 6:17and so I don't actually believe in countries. I think countries mess us
- 6:21up there make believe anyway, to begin with, what do you think about
- 6:25that idea. It's so far fast, it's I mean, right now,
- 6:36there are families in my countine that are waiting in agony, that are suffering
- 6:46because their loved ones are not eating and are not drinking, under the tunnels
- 6:49of from us being tortured. So I can't even think about things like borders
- 6:56in countries now, I just want them home. And that's this is everything
- 7:00you see now. You're smart. You're a smart woman, You're a smart
- 7:06person. You're a smart sister, and I thank you for taking time.
- 7:11Is do you all have a website that people can go to? Alrighty and
- 7:15what is their name to it besides that New York dot com or something?
- 7:23Okay, Okay, Now Sunday, I know there's an event ninetieth Street and
- 7:30Central Park West. We're setting there for the hospitals. We're running for the
- 7:34US, right, they have a run? Okay, thank you so much. The Bott
