- 4:00Speaker 2: What a day. Yesterday got over to the annual Saint
- 4:05Speaker 2: Patti's Day breakfast with the Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce,
- 4:10Speaker 2: and it was just fantastic. Kim Boldock I did not
- 4:16Speaker 2: realize all of the things that she has done in
- 4:21Speaker 2: our community for so long. I did not realize what
- 4:28Speaker 2: an animal of a fundraiser she was is has been,
- 4:38Speaker 2: still is today and all of the people that love
- 4:47Speaker 2: and support her mission just to do good, to do
- 4:51Speaker 2: better for her community, but to be there at the
- 4:55Speaker 2: Elks Lodge yesterday morning. For that breakfast was just awesome.
- 5:01Speaker 2: I can't believe the Chamber of Commerce has been doing
- 5:04Speaker 2: that for nine years. Incredible. And the World, of course
- 5:10Speaker 2: the World Newspaper, Gary Haas and Deb Phillips both there.
- 5:15Speaker 2: See if we can connect in with Deb right now
- 5:18Speaker 2: this morning, because as you probably are well aware, being
- 5:24Speaker 2: that it is Tuesday, the World Newspaper is out today
- 5:29Speaker 2: and I always so much look forward to grabbing a
- 5:33Speaker 2: fresh copy of that and thumb and through it. Chris
- 5:37Speaker 2: will be by today with that and I always again
- 5:41Speaker 2: I always look forward to it tells me everything that's
- 5:44Speaker 2: going on for the week. But it was, well, it
- 5:48Speaker 2: looks like we're missing debt, but it was so great
- 5:50Speaker 2: to see both Deb Phillips and Gary Haas yesterday from
- 5:55Speaker 2: the World and so many other familiar faces. I want
- 6:00Speaker 2: to just give a kudos to Jeanette Kingsbury for all
- 6:05Speaker 2: of the work that in countless hours that she put
- 6:08Speaker 2: into the breakfast yesterday. There is so much that's going
- 6:14Speaker 2: on behind the scenes, stuff that is that's happening that
- 6:19Speaker 2: many of us never see. And it's not just you
- 6:23Speaker 2: don't just throw a breakfast like this together in a
- 6:27Speaker 2: couple of days. They have been working on this for months,
- 6:31Speaker 2: getting sponsors and getting it all organized and determining who
- 6:37Speaker 2: their their recipient was going to be. But yeah, it
- 6:41Speaker 2: was Kim Bulldock yesterday and it was amazing. There's Deb,
- 6:45Speaker 2: Good morning, Deb, how are you?
- 6:47Speaker 3: I'm good? How are you doing?
- 6:48Speaker 2: What a breakfast yesterday? Huh wasn't that something?
- 6:51Speaker 3: Oh? That that was fun? That was really nice And
- 6:54Speaker 3: I think it did a good They did a good
- 6:56Speaker 3: job of honoring Kim very well.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I and I just out on the airteb. I I
- 7:02Speaker 2: really had I mean I had a basic gist of
- 7:06Speaker 2: of what a great lady she was and how much
- 7:08Speaker 2: she's done for the community, but I I didn't know
- 7:11Speaker 2: that she was just that amazing.
- 7:18Speaker 3: All right. Well, she's everywhere, she really is. You know,
- 7:23Speaker 3: the chamber she was on, she was a on the
- 7:27Speaker 3: board for the Northfield Savings Bank. I mean, yeah, she's
- 7:30Speaker 3: she's been very very active.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Yeah she really is.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Uh.
- 7:35Speaker 2: And what it was just so nice to see so
- 7:37Speaker 2: many familiar faces, not enough time to chat with with everybody.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Of course, you know, sitting next to Dick Wabbie was
- 7:47Speaker 2: an experience like no other.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Uh, huh.
- 7:54Speaker 2: But but anyway, yeah, it was. It was great to
- 7:56Speaker 2: see you and Gary there what what can we what
- 8:00Speaker 2: can we see in the world newspapers starting today?
- 8:05Speaker 3: Well, starting today we have our homeowners Service directory. It's
- 8:11Speaker 3: nine professionals that can help you with your upcoming spring
- 8:16Speaker 3: home projects. We also have a page honoring the Mount
- 8:22Speaker 3: Pilier High School boys basketball team that won Division two
- 8:28Speaker 3: for the fifth time in a row. Pretty amazing, pretty amazing.
- 8:34Speaker 3: And we will be starting this week with a new
- 8:40Speaker 3: a new way of distributing the paper.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Wow.
- 8:44Speaker 3: So yeah, So we're going to be starting on Wednesday
- 8:48Speaker 3: instead of Tuesday, and we are going to be in

- 9:06Speaker 2: That starts win now next week there this week this week?
- 9:11Speaker 2: Oh wow? Okay, all right, well I'm gonna have to
- 9:14Speaker 2: get used to that, and I certainly I certainly will.
- 9:18Speaker 2: But that's awesome, deb thank you so much. Is there
- 9:21Speaker 2: anything else you can think of in the in in
- 9:23Speaker 2: this week's world you want to kind of wet our
- 9:25Speaker 2: whistle on.
- 9:28Speaker 3: I think I think that covers it pretty well. Lots
- 9:30Speaker 3: of local news.

- 11:02Speaker 2: and Coffee, which I know you have heard me talking
- 11:07Speaker 2: about on the air now for a couple of years.
- 11:11Speaker 2: And I know that you know how excited I am
- 11:15Speaker 2: about this because it actually I've been talking about it
- 11:19Speaker 2: for probably a month now, which is pretty sad that
- 11:24Speaker 2: I'm that anxious for warmer weather and getting my seventy
- 11:29Speaker 2: six out of the barn and cleaning it up and
- 11:32Speaker 2: getting there. But our new president is Dan Roya. Good morning, buddy.
- 11:36Speaker 2: How are you man?
- 11:37Speaker 5: Good morning, I'm doing well. Thank you.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I'm so glad to see you again. When I saw
- 11:41Speaker 2: you this morning. I think the last time I saw
- 11:44Speaker 2: you was over at the Den in the parking lot
- 11:46Speaker 2: there for one of the Cars and Coffee. Yeah, on
- 11:48Speaker 2: our last So you're driving that electric blue rig. Tell
- 11:54Speaker 2: me about that car.
- 11:55Speaker 4: It's a twenty twenty sixteen Ford Focus rs Niitris Blue
- 12:00Speaker 4: just a fun car to drive.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Z go.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Oh yeah, three hundred and fifty two horsepower, all wheel drive,
- 12:05Speaker 4: six speed manual, so it gets out of its own way.
- 12:09Speaker 5: No speeding tickets yet, knock onad really, yes, seriously, yes, sir.
- 12:13Speaker 2: My god, well, listen first of all, before we even
- 12:17Speaker 2: start this morning, thank you for doing what you do.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Thank you for loving cars in general. Doesn't have to
- 12:24Speaker 2: be an antique. You just love cars. You love the
- 12:26Speaker 2: people that love cars. For taking on this new role,
- 12:32Speaker 2: this this new responsibility which is being added to your
- 12:36Speaker 2: list as the new president of Central Vermont Cars and Coffee.
- 12:39Speaker 5: It's a pleasure I've been.
- 12:40Speaker 4: It's been a fun time over the last four years,
- 12:42Speaker 4: just meeting a bunch of people. And I think that's
- 12:44Speaker 4: the best part of it is the people. I've made
- 12:47Speaker 4: a lot of friends doing this kind of stuff. So yeah,
- 12:49Speaker 4: I really enjoy it.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, And Bobby Bartlett's chatting this morning. I've
- 12:56Speaker 2: got my all of my cars. I have three of
- 13:00Speaker 2: them insured with Bobby and State Farm. But he says,
- 13:04Speaker 2: you're a great guy. And Cars and Coffee is such
- 13:06Speaker 2: a cool event from a local insurance agent to anyone
- 13:10Speaker 2: with higher value vehicles and customized vehicles or upgraded vehicles.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Ask your insurance agent about a stated value policy to
- 13:21Speaker 2: ensure your vehicle is for its current value and not
- 13:26Speaker 2: its stock value.
- 13:28Speaker 5: Right that makes sense?
- 13:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it does. You know. In my seventy six is
- 13:36Speaker 2: insured with Bobby Bartlett and State Farm, and you know,
- 13:40Speaker 2: the first question that he asked me was like, you know,
- 13:43Speaker 2: how much you going to be driving this thing? Because
- 13:45Speaker 2: there's some people that really get out and drive their
- 13:48Speaker 2: antiques a lot, like a lot, a lot. And I said, Bobby,
- 13:54Speaker 2: I can't afford to drive this thing a whole hell
- 13:57Speaker 2: of a lot. I mean it's like, plus it's manual
- 14:02Speaker 2: breaks and manual steering.
- 14:03Speaker 5: Yeah, that's you get your work out for, you know.
- 14:07Speaker 2: And He's like, oh, yeah, well we're going to get
- 14:08Speaker 2: to the right policy then. So that's what I've got.
- 14:11Speaker 2: So it's, you know, it's just covering however many miles
- 14:14Speaker 2: a year that I drive, which really isn't much. I
- 14:16Speaker 2: mean honestly, it's it's like every now and then I
- 14:21Speaker 2: might throw the dirt bikes in the back of it,
- 14:23Speaker 2: but other than that, the driving that I'm doing is
- 14:27Speaker 2: heading to Central Vermont cars and coffee.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Right.
- 14:31Speaker 2: The million dollar question. When's the first one?
- 14:35Speaker 4: April fourteenth, twenty twenty five. So it's usually a second
- 14:39Speaker 4: Sunday of every month April through October.
- 14:42Speaker 2: All right, where is it going to be? Same place
- 14:46Speaker 2: as always.
- 14:46Speaker 5: As the Aspendental parking lot.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, bury him Uppilier Road right there in Berlin.
- 14:53Speaker 2: I'm guessing that's Berlin. It's Berlin, Berlin. Yeah, that should
- 14:56Speaker 2: be so. Yeah, Becky, say hey Dan, good morning. Congrats
- 15:02Speaker 2: and being the new president. It's a perfect fit. You
- 15:06Speaker 2: are someone who has loved I don't know how long
- 15:11Speaker 2: you've loved coffee, but I know that you've loved cars
- 15:16Speaker 2: for probably a hell of a lot longer than you've
- 15:18Speaker 2: loved coffee.
- 15:19Speaker 5: Well, I don't like coffee at all. Yeah.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I've loved cars since I was a kid. It's
- 15:25Speaker 4: been just a you know, I was telling I checked
- 15:27Speaker 4: out this book Richard Sigari's Cars and Trucks are things
- 15:29Speaker 4: that go, and would always trace the pictures out of it.
- 15:32Speaker 5: And as kids we always played.
- 15:33Speaker 4: With the matchbox and hot wheels cars using up my
- 15:35Speaker 4: mom's thread and so and then my dad was a mechanic,
- 15:38Speaker 4: so there was that part of it. And uh yeah,
- 15:40Speaker 4: just always lost tell.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Me about mom's thread.
- 15:43Speaker 4: So we would make the roads on our beds out
- 15:46Speaker 4: of the thread different ways, and she was just kind
- 15:48Speaker 4: of wondering, Hey, what my thread just keeps disappearing.
- 15:50Speaker 5: I'm not sure where it's going because you do different
- 15:54Speaker 5: roads every time.
- 15:54Speaker 2: So of course, yeah, of course. So you you literally
- 15:58Speaker 2: have loved cars since you were just we high, Yes, sir,
- 16:03Speaker 2: all right, that's something. When when did you what was
- 16:07Speaker 2: your first car that you ever got?
- 16:09Speaker 5: Are you ready for this?
- 16:10Speaker 4: I'm nineteen eighty one Chevy Chavette four speed manual, four door,
- 16:15Speaker 4: So I always said I had a VET.
- 16:17Speaker 5: My first car was a Vet.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yes it is. What would you would you? So you
- 16:23Speaker 2: had to learn stick right off?
- 16:25Speaker 4: Well, my dad always drove manual, so I drove. I
- 16:27Speaker 4: learned to drive on his car. We had an eighty
- 16:29Speaker 4: three Americurylinks that was a five speed manual, so.
- 16:31Speaker 5: We learned to drive on mat.
- 16:34Speaker 2: How'd you do?
- 16:35Speaker 4: Pretty decent after, you know, after a while, You know,
- 16:37Speaker 4: I always got a stall at the first few times.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Sure, of course, what a great car to learn how Yeah,
- 16:42Speaker 2: a little good car? Wow, I bet you you wish
- 16:47Speaker 2: you still had it.
- 16:48Speaker 5: The Chavette. Yeah, Oh yeah, I guess it was. Yeah,
- 16:52Speaker 5: wouldn't get out of its own way, but you know,
- 16:54Speaker 5: it was all right. Still, it was a good first
- 16:56Speaker 5: car for me.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Of course. Of course my first was a seventy three
- 17:01Speaker 2: Chevy C ten Mustard yellow, and then upgraded to the
- 17:08Speaker 2: seventy Cutlass. Oh yeah from that. Yeah, way too much
- 17:14Speaker 2: car for me. I don't know. It was seventeen, I
- 17:17Speaker 2: think eighteen something like that.
- 17:19Speaker 5: Yep, too much, right, Yeah, No, I didn't have much power.
- 17:23Speaker 2: I can't remember what it had it. I want to
- 17:25Speaker 2: say three oh seven, maybe three oh five, something like that.
- 17:30Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 17:31Speaker 5: The shifter on the column, the actually three on the tree.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Yes it was, Yes, it was well yeah, but no clutch,
- 17:42Speaker 2: no clutch. Yeah, fast car though, sexy looking car, but
- 17:47Speaker 2: just too much, too big, Like god, I don't know
- 17:50Speaker 2: how I afforded the gas for that thing. I still
- 17:53Speaker 2: I don't. So the second Sunday of every months, huh,
- 18:01Speaker 2: starting April fourteenth, yep, okay, so it's starting at nine am,
- 18:07Speaker 2: nine to noon, nine till noon, all right, tell me
- 18:10Speaker 2: about Drew Lamb. He sent out a message on the
- 18:16Speaker 2: Cars and Coffee Facebook page, which, by the way, folks,
- 18:19Speaker 2: if you have it. If you're not following it, you
- 18:21Speaker 2: really should like it, follow it, share it. He sent
- 18:25Speaker 2: out a message that he was moving out of state
- 18:29Speaker 2: and that you were going to be taking the wheel
- 18:31Speaker 2: on this thing, and he was pretty excited, and he
- 18:33Speaker 2: said to me personally that he couldn't think of a
- 18:36Speaker 2: better a better fit.
- 18:38Speaker 5: I appreciate that.
- 18:40Speaker 2: This is this is something that you've been a part of.
- 18:43Speaker 2: You've you've I don't know if you've missed one of them.
- 18:46Speaker 4: No, I've been going since day one, so every time
- 18:48Speaker 4: they had less I think I missed one because it
- 18:49Speaker 4: was a rainy dayvig and they weren't going to have it,
- 18:51Speaker 4: but they did.
- 18:52Speaker 5: I guess, yeah, but I made a couple of car
- 18:53Speaker 5: showed up.
- 18:54Speaker 4: But sure it's rain or shine, but depending, you know,
- 18:56Speaker 4: that's judgment if you want to go, if it's porn
- 18:58Speaker 4: right out there.
- 19:00Speaker 2: To two and we were nine to noon or nine
- 19:03Speaker 2: till noon, nine till noon. You guys really get uh,
- 19:07Speaker 2: especially if the West, you get a good crowd that
- 19:10Speaker 2: comes in there.
- 19:11Speaker 4: We've seen we've had cars. I remember the I think
- 19:13Speaker 4: it was the summer before last. They had two of
- 19:15Speaker 4: these cars. One was from was only available in Japan,
- 19:18Speaker 4: but they had it at a at the museum in
- 19:20Speaker 4: Saint johns Berry.
- 19:20Speaker 5: It was like a Honda.
- 19:21Speaker 4: I forget the name of the car, but it was
- 19:23Speaker 4: like a little Del Soul two seater thing and they
- 19:25Speaker 4: brought they drove that all the way down from Saint
- 19:26Speaker 4: johns Berry along with an old Volvo because they had
- 19:29Speaker 4: heard that. We had heard cars and coffee and it.
- 19:31Speaker 4: I mean, you just never know what you're gonna get.
- 19:32Speaker 4: We got a one year got one of those big
- 19:34Speaker 4: gmc palm beach Moat homes.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 19:36Speaker 4: And the person that had converted it, that owned it before,
- 19:38Speaker 4: converted it into a bike caller. So the whole back
- 19:42Speaker 4: of the rear of the bus or the camp are
- 19:44Speaker 4: lifted up so they could pull the bikes in there.
- 19:47Speaker 4: But now it's been it was changed back to a camper.
- 19:48Speaker 4: But it was kind of cool to say wow and people,
- 19:51Speaker 4: you know, I got people that they want to bring
- 19:52Speaker 4: tractor trailer trucks, you.
- 19:53Speaker 5: Know, the cabs. Shane Gross from Williamstown.
- 19:56Speaker 4: I know that they've got old classic trucks and I
- 19:58Speaker 4: always telling hey, yeah, bring them on down. Well, we'd
- 20:00Speaker 4: love it. People would love to have stuff like that.
- 20:03Speaker 4: So bring every different. We got bikes, we've got cars, trucks.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's something that that Drew was was pretty
- 20:11Speaker 2: passionate about, is that this is not just antique and
- 20:15Speaker 2: classic cars.
- 20:16Speaker 5: Yeah, all modern.
- 20:18Speaker 4: I mean we've got one of our one of the
- 20:20Speaker 4: guys that comes as a twenty twenty four Mustang GT
- 20:23Speaker 4: so he brings out so I think that's probably one
- 20:25Speaker 4: of the newest cars. But yeah, it's all ranges, all
- 20:27Speaker 4: different model years, all different cars every I mean, you
- 20:30Speaker 4: never know what's going to show up.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Yeah, well we had a smart truck that that showed up. Yeah,
- 20:35Speaker 2: that that Tesla. I think it's a Josh if I'm
- 20:38Speaker 2: not mistaken from Burlington, maybe.
- 20:41Speaker 5: He's from he was from Barry, but I think he's moved.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Okay.
- 20:44Speaker 5: I saw a post the.
- 20:45Speaker 4: Other day that I think he's going to travel the
- 20:47Speaker 4: country or something. But he's not gonna be not gonna
- 20:50Speaker 4: be around the share for it.
- 20:51Speaker 2: But he is not.
- 20:52Speaker 5: No, I think he's you know, he's traveling.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Wow. Yeah, I remember he was. At one point he
- 20:57Speaker 2: was part next to a thirty six Ford and it
- 21:02Speaker 2: was just amazing. It's just amazing.
- 21:04Speaker 4: And that's not his first teslog because he used to bring.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Uh he had the Model X I think, and he
- 21:11Speaker 4: had the front open. He had a bunch of hot
- 21:13Speaker 4: wheels and matchbox cars and air and only the electric cars.
- 21:16Speaker 4: And you give him out to all the kids there.
- 21:17Speaker 4: So he's he's brought Tesla's there for a few years.
- 21:19Speaker 4: But wow, And I know when the parade they threw
- 21:22Speaker 4: electric cars out to the kids at the parade in
- 21:24Speaker 4: Williamstown for Labor Day, yes, Memorial Day.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I get yeah, I think I think I
- 21:32Speaker 2: was there for for that one. Good crowd.
- 21:35Speaker 5: Good, that's what we'd like to do.
- 21:36Speaker 4: So the parades again, I think everybody really did the
- 21:39Speaker 4: Williams Sown one. Then we did the Heritage Day parade
- 21:41Speaker 4: as well here and people really enjoyed it.
- 21:44Speaker 2: That was a warm day, sure, it was very warm.
- 21:47Speaker 5: Thank god for air conditioning in my car.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 21:49Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah, the crowds were. I mean there was a good,
- 21:52Speaker 5: huge crowd. Yes.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Yes, what happens with Central Vermont Custom Classics. That's another
- 21:59Speaker 2: car group. Okally they they they.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Come to our they do the cars and coffee, but
- 22:04Speaker 4: they also do meets over at the O'Reilly's in Southberry. Yeah,
- 22:10Speaker 4: usually on Saturdays, I'm not sure what their actual schedule is,
- 22:13Speaker 4: but I know they do post it, but they do
- 22:16Speaker 4: it probably one Saturday a month at least.
- 22:20Speaker 5: Yeah, and they have a good turn out.
- 22:21Speaker 4: They got a Jim Lacuarse actually does brings his food
- 22:23Speaker 4: truck over there, and their food is really good. So yeah,
- 22:27Speaker 4: if you're hunger your appetite to that show. Jim knows
- 22:29Speaker 4: what he's doing, Yeah he does.
- 22:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:32Speaker 2: I want I want you to, uh show show this
- 22:35Speaker 2: this book here to the camera. This is the beginning
- 22:38Speaker 2: of Dan Roya right here loving cars.
- 22:41Speaker 4: Yes, sir, Yeah, take it out of the library every day,
- 22:43Speaker 4: everywhere time it was available in library, I'd go check.
- 22:45Speaker 2: It out cars and trucks and things that go Richard
- 22:49Speaker 2: Richard Scary the author of this Yes, what where did
- 22:52Speaker 2: you find this book? And what year we talking about here?
- 22:55Speaker 2: This looks like it's sixties.
- 22:57Speaker 4: Probably this one is I think is a republished but
- 22:59Speaker 4: I think it came Mountain the sixties because, as like
- 23:01Speaker 4: I said, I was in first grade checking this book
- 23:03Speaker 4: out of the library at the school. So but this
- 23:06Speaker 4: one I found at a thrift store this past weekend.
- 23:09Speaker 2: So must have grabbed it.
- 23:10Speaker 5: I shared it. I was like Oh, yep, that's it
- 23:12Speaker 5: sold sold.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Yeah, so you were checking that book out and as
- 23:16Speaker 2: a little kid, you said first grade.
- 23:18Speaker 5: Yeah, first grade through probably fifth or sixth grade.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Then what then we graduated to the hot wheels in
- 23:25Speaker 2: the matchbox cars.
- 23:26Speaker 5: Yeah and yeah, and then graduated to the actual real stuff.
- 23:30Speaker 2: All right. So so dad was a mechanic.
- 23:32Speaker 4: Dad was a mechanic for the Ford Perry Ford over
- 23:35Speaker 4: in Southberry, and then he worked for when Green Mountain
- 23:37Speaker 4: America was on the Barmantilar.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Road, and he was he was kind of fueling your fire.
- 23:42Speaker 2: He could see that you'd.
- 23:44Speaker 4: Bring brochures home, the car brochares, and then as a
- 23:47Speaker 4: I would start going to all the dealerships and collecting
- 23:49Speaker 4: the catalogs. And someone I was growing up, so wow,
- 23:52Speaker 4: they called me the brochure boy.
- 23:53Speaker 5: I've heard really yes, yeah.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Now did you get was he taking you under the
- 23:59Speaker 2: hood or underneath car? Should be turning wrenches at all?
- 24:01Speaker 5: I wasn't.
- 24:02Speaker 4: No, I've never turned a wrench in my life. Yeah,
- 24:04Speaker 4: I'm this guy is not mechanically inclined at all.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Okay, so you and I are very similar. We like
- 24:09Speaker 2: to drive it correct. Somebody else can.
- 24:11Speaker 5: Turn, else can fix it.
- 24:13Speaker 4: It probably worse if I tried to fix it, probably
- 24:15Speaker 4: worse than when I started it.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Eight men the same Wow. You and I cut from
- 24:20Speaker 2: the City Claw, same deal.
- 24:23Speaker 4: But it's funny because my dad was big into airplanes,
- 24:26Speaker 4: so he was sent to Barnstormer's Airplane Club. Yeah, he
- 24:30Speaker 4: was big into that, so he was his hobby was
- 24:32Speaker 4: the model airplanes. I remember we'd go to the flying
- 24:35Speaker 4: field with him sometime when he was flying, and he
- 24:37Speaker 4: taught a lot of people to fly.
- 24:38Speaker 2: So that's so cool. Yeah.
- 24:40Speaker 5: Wow.
- 24:41Speaker 2: So you you eventually get your your first car, you said,
- 24:44Speaker 2: in eighty one Chavette.
- 24:46Speaker 5: Chavette, Yeah, four or five four speed manual.
- 24:51Speaker 4: Wow, dark blue with tan stripes. Yeah, it was between
- 24:54Speaker 4: that and a Ford Pinto and we ended up going
- 24:55Speaker 4: with a Chavette.
- 24:56Speaker 2: So uh And then what happened after that? Did you
- 25:00Speaker 2: get after that?
- 25:01Speaker 4: Then I traded that one in for I'd bought an
- 25:03Speaker 4: eighty four Mercurylinks that was a manual, and then yeah,
- 25:08Speaker 4: I can't remember what I traded that end. I've had
- 25:10Speaker 4: a Taurus Wagon, I've had a Pontiac grand Am, I've
- 25:12Speaker 4: had a Mazda Sex, I've had the Focus are the
- 25:16Speaker 4: focus st Yeah, now I get the focus rs.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Yeah, that's amazing. Becky wants to know if she can
- 25:24Speaker 2: bring her Forester.
- 25:25Speaker 5: Sure can, we'd love it.
- 25:27Speaker 4: Yeah, any car, it doesn't even have to be a
- 25:29Speaker 4: custom Gardy just come down.
- 25:30Speaker 5: And it's really the people.
- 25:32Speaker 2: In motorcycles too.
- 25:33Speaker 5: Motorcycles yeah yeah.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Even if you have didn't have to be an antique
- 25:38Speaker 2: bike either. Don't just come with me.
- 25:40Speaker 4: You know when you just bought the day before, the
- 25:41Speaker 4: Saturday before cars and coffee, bring it over.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe I'll maybe I'll hop on my Triumph one.
- 25:47Speaker 4: Tam seeing bring the truck one. Then you bring the
- 25:50Speaker 4: bike and hit the bike in the back of the
- 25:51Speaker 4: truck there. That would be cool because the people would love.
- 25:53Speaker 2: That, would they?
- 25:54Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 25:55Speaker 2: Damn it? Yeah, all right, that will You know. This
- 25:59Speaker 2: is what I love about this is Drew Lamb's vision
- 26:04Speaker 2: of this is something that you share and foster, which
- 26:09Speaker 2: is make this a family event, very very much a
- 26:14Speaker 2: family friendly event, which means there's going to be good
- 26:19Speaker 2: people hanging around with good clean language and good clean
- 26:24Speaker 2: behavior too. And that was one of the big things
- 26:27Speaker 2: on that Drew was like, look, we're not going to
- 26:31Speaker 2: act like a bunch of you know, crazies here. We're
- 26:36Speaker 2: not going to be a bunch of outlaws doing burnouts.
- 26:38Speaker 4: Actually, they actually had somebody arrested last year at the
- 26:41Speaker 4: Carson Coffee. They actually had somebody arrested last year at
- 26:44Speaker 4: Carson Coffee.
- 26:45Speaker 2: What happened?
- 26:46Speaker 4: They were doing wheel least down the barrymut Play Road. Oh,
- 26:48Speaker 4: they're happened to be a police officer and an accident
- 26:50Speaker 4: just up by the Bowling Alley and.
- 26:53Speaker 5: He got arrested.
- 26:55Speaker 2: That's interesting because I saw that guy doing wheel least. Yeah,
- 27:02Speaker 2: I wonder if it was the same day. I don't know.
- 27:04Speaker 5: I was on a Sunday.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that was probably this. I didn't I didn't realize that. Wow. Yeah,
- 27:10Speaker 2: I mean you just we.
- 27:12Speaker 4: Just asked for respect to just to be I mean,
- 27:14Speaker 4: we don't need to do burnouts, we don't need to
- 27:16Speaker 4: be speeding by. There's you know, we consider the safety
- 27:19Speaker 4: of everybody else on the road, including our safety at
- 27:22Speaker 4: the at the event, but we also care about all
- 27:24Speaker 4: the people driving by. Because the Baron Mplayar Road is
- 27:26Speaker 4: pretty active, especially on a Sunday. We see a lot
- 27:28Speaker 4: of people going in the grocery store stuff like that,
- 27:29Speaker 4: going off to Church, So we just want to be
- 27:32Speaker 4: respectful and safe and have nobody get hurt. Especially if
- 27:35Speaker 4: that happens, we'll lose our spot and then what we
- 27:37Speaker 4: will do we want to have, we won't have it.
- 27:40Speaker 2: And you know, great point. And let's say this. There's
- 27:44Speaker 2: a ship ton of car shows going on all over
- 27:48Speaker 2: the region, and if that's your thing, that's cool, go
- 27:52Speaker 2: to one of those. But for Central from Carson Coffee,
- 27:57Speaker 2: we're going to be super respectful family event. And it
- 28:01Speaker 2: doesn't matter whether or not it's at Aspentental or whether
- 28:05Speaker 2: or not we're over in Williamstown or whether we're in
- 28:09Speaker 2: a parade. If you are part of Central Vermont Cars
- 28:13Speaker 2: and Coffee one of their events, please be respectful.
- 28:16Speaker 5: Correct.
- 28:17Speaker 4: And we also do the events at the Berlin Hilton
- 28:20Speaker 4: Rehab Nursing Home because the folks there like to come
- 28:24Speaker 4: out and just check out the cars. So we're going
- 28:26Speaker 4: to plan on doing some of those two.
- 28:28Speaker 2: I know there was one at least one last year
- 28:31Speaker 2: and it was a huge, huge success, and I think
- 28:34Speaker 2: that is that is so important.
- 28:36Speaker 4: Yeah, just see the people come out that probably don't
- 28:39Speaker 4: get out other than that, and they come out and
- 28:40Speaker 4: they just reminisce about the colors of the cars or sure,
- 28:43Speaker 4: I remember I had a car that was at color.
- 28:45Speaker 4: I remember I had a Mustang like that when I
- 28:47Speaker 4: was So it's just really cool to be part of that.
- 28:51Speaker 2: We want to give a shout out to Ethan who's
- 28:53Speaker 2: going to be helping out this year, Neva Sullifan who's
- 28:58Speaker 2: going to be taking over posting all of the events
- 29:01Speaker 2: on social media. And Camilla from Chrome and Clicks Photography.
- 29:10Speaker 4: She does awesome pictures, so that's another thing to take
- 29:13Speaker 4: pictures and the usually they post him on the website
- 29:17Speaker 4: and they're the gentleman from Burlington too that comes down
- 29:20Speaker 4: and takes pictures.
- 29:21Speaker 5: He's awesome too.
- 29:23Speaker 4: Rick Carlson, he drives the blue Biers. It's almost the
- 29:27Speaker 4: color of my car. He takes pictures all the time
- 29:30Speaker 4: and he'll post him on his page so you can
- 29:32Speaker 4: you can always go there and look at it too.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Now, how long do you wait before you tick your
- 29:36Speaker 2: your car out? How much how much rain do you
- 29:39Speaker 2: need to have on the on the roadways to wash
- 29:42Speaker 2: all that salt off?
- 29:43Speaker 4: Probably a couple of good storms, okay, probably be usually
- 29:46Speaker 4: May around May first.
- 29:47Speaker 5: I take it out just in it's in my garage
- 29:50Speaker 5: at home.
- 29:51Speaker 2: But okay, we're getting asked if you could, if we
- 29:54Speaker 2: could make a stop at Barry Gardens right here in town.
- 29:58Speaker 2: He could do that. That would be amazing.
- 30:01Speaker 4: Yeah, we would need some contact information okay for who
- 30:04Speaker 4: we would call to arrange it, but yeah, we would
- 30:06Speaker 4: love to do that.
- 30:07Speaker 2: All right. Uh So a couple of good rainstorms and
- 30:11Speaker 2: you're good to go.
- 30:12Speaker 5: Yes, sir, Yeah, all right, and make sure all that
- 30:14Speaker 5: salts off. Yeah.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Do you ever get to the uh to the big
- 30:17Speaker 2: one in in Stell Well, it's it's Waterbury but forest
- 30:22Speaker 2: Field now.
- 30:22Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I love going to that.
- 30:24Speaker 4: I collect hot wheels and matchbox car still, so I
- 30:26Speaker 4: like going through the flea market.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Part of that, oh, finding these old cars that flea
- 30:31Speaker 2: markets increasey.
- 30:32Speaker 4: Yeah, So I usually get there first and I know
- 30:34Speaker 4: that sometimes they have a hot wheels race at that,
- 30:37Speaker 4: so I'll have picked up cars at the flea market
- 30:39Speaker 4: and then I'll go race.
- 30:40Speaker 5: And one of the people that love to do that.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Did you have hot wheels a little plastic track that
- 30:44Speaker 2: did the loop? Do you loop? And all that?
- 30:46Speaker 5: Yep?
- 30:46Speaker 2: Do you still have it?
- 30:47Speaker 5: I don't have those now, No, Okay, you can get
- 30:51Speaker 5: them but I just don't have them.
- 30:53Speaker 2: You were supposed to say, yes, JD. I use it
- 30:56Speaker 2: every single Friday night.
- 30:58Speaker 5: Yeah, every day that day.
- 31:01Speaker 2: You know, you mentioned Burlington just a little whildco and
- 31:04Speaker 2: I want to talk about that because we mentioned other
- 31:08Speaker 2: car shows. There's some, there's some real big ones.
- 31:11Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that one in Burlington's great. That's at the
- 31:13Speaker 4: U Mal And I don't know the official schedule. I
- 31:16Speaker 4: know it's on Saturdays and usually from seven am to
- 31:19Speaker 4: nine am. And I know that one of the auto
- 31:23Speaker 4: part sponsors up there brings streets too, so if you
- 31:25Speaker 4: want some good donuts and coffee.
- 31:26Speaker 5: You go up there too.
- 31:28Speaker 4: And we're trying to get something to work for hours here.
- 31:30Speaker 4: But yeah, the one in Burlington, I mean, you never
- 31:33Speaker 4: know what you're going to see up there.
- 31:34Speaker 5: For cars. A guy's got a Dodge Dakota convertible pickup.
- 31:36Speaker 4: From like nineteen ninety eight and it again, it's just
- 31:40Speaker 4: a great bunch of people. You get you just get
- 31:42Speaker 4: around talk to people and I've made so many friends.
- 31:45Speaker 5: Yeah, it's just it's amazing.
- 31:46Speaker 2: You were just showing me a picture of eighty nine
- 31:49Speaker 2: Dodge Coda pickup truck convertible YEP. And I don't think
- 31:57Speaker 2: I had ever seen one. That's that's fascinating stuff. Yeah,
- 32:00Speaker 2: but Burlington's Burlington has had a couple of car shows
- 32:04Speaker 2: where where things have got a little wild out that way.
- 32:09Speaker 4: Yeah, they had one at the old Hanniford's down across
- 32:11Speaker 4: from in Willison, uh.
- 32:14Speaker 5: South Burlington, Okay, across from Lowe's.
- 32:17Speaker 4: Yes, yes, now the Tesla dealership, and it just I mean,
- 32:23Speaker 4: it was a great crowd of people. There was cars
- 32:25Speaker 4: coming over from New York all that, but it just
- 32:27Speaker 4: got crazy. People were appealing. Now they were driving way
- 32:29Speaker 4: too fast, just you know, doing the the rev popping
- 32:32Speaker 4: and all that stuff. And it just so the last
- 32:35Speaker 4: one that I went to, the police actually came and
- 32:38Speaker 4: were issuing tickets because people were speeding up that road.
- 32:41Speaker 4: So that ended up losing the spot. So that's not
- 32:43Speaker 4: what we want here in sant Vermont.
- 32:45Speaker 5: We want. That's why we like the respect.
- 32:46Speaker 4: We like the just when you leave, just leave nicely,
- 32:49Speaker 4: and yeah, then we can keep our spot and keep gathering.
- 32:52Speaker 2: We we know how fast your car goes. We have
- 32:58Speaker 2: a very good idea at least we have a good
- 33:01Speaker 2: idea of what you've got under the hood. We know
- 33:05Speaker 2: that you can lay rubber. We don't need to see it,
- 33:09Speaker 2: correct And if if we do see it, then do
- 33:11Speaker 2: it somewhere else and throw it up on Facebook so
- 33:15Speaker 2: we can all see it. Then yeah, and then but
- 33:17Speaker 2: not at you're not at Central Vermont Carson, right.
- 33:19Speaker 4: It may not be welcome back if you yeah, exactly,
- 33:21Speaker 4: because we don't you know, we don't want that as
- 33:23Speaker 4: because if you lose the spot at Aspendental, then the
- 33:26Speaker 4: word's going to get around hey that you know we
- 33:28Speaker 4: want to get a spot, Say hey, can we use
- 33:30Speaker 4: a part of the parking mall or part of the
- 33:31Speaker 4: parking spots at the Berlin Mall? And then I'm gonna
- 33:34Speaker 4: be like no, because we heard that when you were
- 33:35Speaker 4: down there, you guys were doing burnouts and stuff, and
- 33:37Speaker 4: we need that here. So, you know, we don't want
- 33:40Speaker 4: to we don't want to ruin a good thing.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Again if you're just joining us. Dan Roya is the
- 33:45Speaker 2: new president of Central Vermont Carson Coffee, which starts there.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Free car shows coming up April fourteenth is going to
- 33:53Speaker 2: be the first one at the Aspin Dental parking lot
- 33:56Speaker 2: in Berlin right for the you know, right past the
- 34:00Speaker 2: uh turn for for a price shopper. You can't miss
- 34:03Speaker 2: it Sundays the second Sunday of every month from nine
- 34:09Speaker 2: am until twelve noon, and there's no registration fee. It
- 34:13Speaker 2: is free. We just asked you that you'd be respectful,
- 34:18Speaker 2: find a nice parking spot when you pull in, pop
- 34:21Speaker 2: your hood if you would like to bring some coffee
- 34:24Speaker 2: and walk around and take a gander at some of
- 34:27Speaker 2: the some of the cars that are there. And I'll
- 34:30Speaker 2: say it again, you're not gonna just see classics. You're
- 34:32Speaker 2: gonna see all kinds of stuff, stuff that has been
- 34:35Speaker 2: seriously modified.
- 34:37Speaker 5: Yep.
- 34:37Speaker 4: And stuff that, like I said to was that one
- 34:39Speaker 4: that came from Japan that just happened to be here
- 34:41Speaker 4: on show in St. John's By and they drove it down.
- 34:43Speaker 4: You just never know what's going to show up.
- 34:45Speaker 5: Yeah, wow.
- 34:46Speaker 2: And really anything that that's an antique, if it's a
- 34:52Speaker 2: if it's a motorcycle, it doesn't have to be an antique.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Any kind of nice bike.
- 34:57Speaker 4: Camper, semi trucks, semi truck with trailers. But right, I
- 35:01Speaker 4: mean if just the cabs, like I said, I know,
- 35:03Speaker 4: Shang Grase, I've got a bunch of Williamstown I've been
- 35:06Speaker 4: chatting with him about it last year about bringing his trucks.
- 35:08Speaker 4: Trucks down we'd love to see him, right, there's plenty
- 35:10Speaker 4: of room.
- 35:11Speaker 5: To park them purely.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Your Volkswagen is one of our sponsors. Have we had
- 35:16Speaker 2: a an old VW bus that has that You've ever seen?
- 35:20Speaker 5: For sure? We've had the bosses, We've had buds, We've
- 35:23Speaker 5: had yeah, oh my god, I think there's even I
- 35:25Speaker 5: think we've you know, a couple of the things, the
- 35:27Speaker 5: Volkswagen things.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Really I've missed that.
- 35:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:32Speaker 2: I have a friend who is a sixty seven Beatle
- 35:37Speaker 2: convertible and I want to say there was like like
- 35:42Speaker 2: forty five hundred of them made of that year convertible
- 35:47Speaker 2: and he's got one of him, and he has spent
- 35:50Speaker 2: his life savings plus more on this and on this car,
- 35:58Speaker 2: and he's be there. He'll be bringing it.
- 36:01Speaker 4: From my first My first Beetle story was at our
- 36:03Speaker 4: neighbor had one and at the end of our road
- 36:06Speaker 4: we had a swimming hole. So anytime she'd go swimming,
- 36:08Speaker 4: she'd ask us if we want to go, and she'd
- 36:10Speaker 4: have her son with her and I would always have
- 36:12Speaker 4: to So I had two older brothers, so her son
- 36:16Speaker 4: was sitting in the front and my two brothers were
- 36:17Speaker 4: sitting in the back, and I had to go in
- 36:18Speaker 4: that little parasol shelf behind the rear seat above the engine.
- 36:22Speaker 5: Oh yeah, that's where I always had to go every
- 36:23Speaker 5: time we went.
- 36:28Speaker 2: Everybody would have been arrested today for sure.
- 36:30Speaker 5: Yeah, because I had definitely no seat all the time.
- 36:34Speaker 2: I used to Uh, I used to climb up. My
- 36:36Speaker 2: mom had a seventy beetle and I used to climb
- 36:40Speaker 2: up on the by the back windshield where the speakers
- 36:42Speaker 2: are and lay lay up there.
- 36:43Speaker 5: Yeah, that's where they had me. It was this one. Yeah.
- 36:46Speaker 5: It was kind of indented a little bit, so you
- 36:48Speaker 5: were kind of down.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 36:51Speaker 4: My mom had a Mustang too, but I never got
- 36:53Speaker 4: to drive that one, but when we were kids, i'd
- 36:56Speaker 4: have to because it had that tunnel that went up
- 36:58Speaker 4: between the seats because it was like two buckets eats
- 37:00Speaker 4: in the back.
- 37:00Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, and then there was that tunnel.
- 37:02Speaker 4: So the two older brothers again on the sides, and
- 37:04Speaker 4: I'm sitting on the tunnel. Same time we had to
- 37:05Speaker 4: come to a stop, the arms would come over trying
- 37:07Speaker 4: to think that's gonna stop me from going forward to
- 37:10Speaker 4: getting an accident.
- 37:11Speaker 5: But hey, you know, they at least they tried to
- 37:12Speaker 5: protect me.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Mom's mom's mom's seventy. She Mom and dad weren't home
- 37:18Speaker 2: one day and we had a couple of friends over
- 37:22Speaker 2: and the car was parked underneath the basketball hoop on
- 37:31Speaker 2: the edge of the garage.
- 37:32Speaker 5: Yep.
- 37:33Speaker 2: So my brother, who's two years older than I am,
- 37:38Speaker 2: thought that he would show off and say to all
- 37:42Speaker 2: of the boys, neighborhood kids, don't worry about it. Mom's
- 37:46Speaker 2: not home. I'm just going to move the car. And
- 37:48Speaker 2: they were We were all like, oh my god, are
- 37:50Speaker 2: you kidding. He's yeah, got the key. He went in
- 37:53Speaker 2: and got the key. Well, first gear and reverse very
- 38:01Speaker 2: close to each other. Oh no, especially when you got
- 38:05Speaker 2: a clutch. Yep, this is a dangerous situation. Let the
- 38:09Speaker 2: clutch out too fast. Was in first right through the
- 38:12Speaker 2: garage door and into the garage. Oh no, yeah, smashed
- 38:19Speaker 2: all kinds of shit in the garage too, took the
- 38:23Speaker 2: We had a nice oval shaped hole right through the
- 38:27Speaker 2: garage door.
- 38:28Speaker 5: When she got home.
- 38:29Speaker 2: It wasn't It wasn't Mom that he was afraid of.
- 38:31Speaker 2: It was it was dad. Uh huh, And you know, uh,
- 38:34Speaker 2: Mom and Dad rarely very rarely raised their voices. And
- 38:42Speaker 2: I remember I was I was hiding in a tree
- 38:48Speaker 2: when when dad came home, and he came home first,
- 38:51Speaker 2: and I remember him saying to my brother, I am
- 38:56Speaker 2: very very disappointed in you. My brother will tell you
- 39:02Speaker 2: today that, uh, that was one of the hardest things
- 39:05Speaker 2: that he ever heard from my dad.
- 39:07Speaker 5: I'm sure. Yeah, yeah, very disappointed.
- 39:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I expected better from you.
- 39:14Speaker 5: Yes, God, nobody was hurt, right, nobody was hurt.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Nobody was hurt.
- 39:20Speaker 5: It was always an important there, It was always an
- 39:22Speaker 5: important thing. You.
- 39:23Speaker 2: You have you your passion for automobiles has taken you
- 39:28Speaker 2: into what you do today, your career. You've been at
- 39:32Speaker 2: ATO two super for a long time.
- 39:35Speaker 4: Yeah, So I've been at ATO two Super over since
- 39:37Speaker 4: twenty fifteen. But I've been with Ato two Cars since
- 39:40Speaker 4: twenty eleven. So just celebrated my fifteenth anniversary.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Wow.
- 39:43Speaker 4: But before that, I worked at Walker Motors. Yeah, when
- 39:47Speaker 4: the year before they were So I've been my pretty
- 39:51Speaker 4: much my whole adult life career has been an automotive.
- 39:54Speaker 2: What do you do? What do you what do you
- 39:55Speaker 2: love to do? You're not turning wrenches?
- 39:59Speaker 4: No, I'm the low on our car coordinator and right now.
- 40:01Speaker 4: So I get people in the loaner cars when they're
- 40:04Speaker 4: needing to go somewhere, calling warranty claims for our aftermarket warranties.
- 40:09Speaker 5: Yeah, pretty much anything.
- 40:11Speaker 4: It's and again it's the people that I love, you know,
- 40:13Speaker 4: I got my regular customers that hey, I didn't see
- 40:16Speaker 4: you in here last time, where were you? Or you know,
- 40:19Speaker 4: stuff like that, so I got my again. It's always
- 40:22Speaker 4: about the people for me, it's you just make friends you.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Yeah, So who else can we give a shout out
- 40:31Speaker 2: to here? We mentioned ah nevea Camilla. We've got course
- 40:38Speaker 2: of course Ethan Drew Lamb, who is passing the baton
- 40:43Speaker 2: to you? Is there anyone else that's that's kind of
- 40:47Speaker 2: making up Central Vermont cars and coffee.
- 40:50Speaker 4: Thankful to the property owners that let us actually use
- 40:53Speaker 4: the spots.
- 40:54Speaker 5: Yeah, but that's always most important. Malone Properties, Malone Properties
- 40:57Speaker 5: for letting us use the spot. Yeah, I don't. I
- 41:01Speaker 5: think that's pretty much covers everything.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Cars, No, no kind of registration fee or or anything.
- 41:08Speaker 2: This is free.
- 41:08Speaker 5: Yeah. You just pull up, put your car in, and.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Get out, no matter what you have, antique or not.
- 41:13Speaker 5: Yep, could be a project car.
- 41:15Speaker 4: You're still you know, doing modifications to it, or you've
- 41:18Speaker 4: sure got a sixty five car that still needs work, bring.
- 41:21Speaker 5: It on, yeah, you know, but people love it.
- 41:23Speaker 2: There's somebody that's got an old I think it's an
- 41:26Speaker 2: old Scion. Ah, the one that's like yellow and pink
- 41:31Speaker 2: and blue and like.
- 41:31Speaker 4: Oh, the Corolla, the Toyo a Corolla. Yeah, I think
- 41:34Speaker 4: it's I seen a rounds. It's a definate scan this time.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Yeah, oh my god.
- 41:38Speaker 5: Yea.
- 41:39Speaker 2: And you take the time to look under the hood
- 41:44Speaker 2: of some of these cars and chat with their owners.
- 41:49Speaker 2: If you see someone just standing there, go up and say,
- 41:53Speaker 2: beautiful car.
- 41:54Speaker 4: Yeah, that's how you Then that's how you make the conversation.
- 41:56Speaker 4: And that's how you make the connection too.
- 41:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:58Speaker 4: I mean, like I said, I made so many friends
- 42:00Speaker 4: just by doing that. Hey, I like your car, and
- 42:02Speaker 4: then they'll come and look at your car, and you guys,
- 42:05Speaker 4: and then the next one. Everybody's yeah, everybody knows each
- 42:08Speaker 4: other now.
- 42:09Speaker 2: I right after I got my my my seventy six
- 42:14Speaker 2: f one hundred, right away, I was at Central Cars
- 42:19Speaker 2: and Coffee. And I don't I don't turn wrenches either,
- 42:23Speaker 2: as I told you, I don't know. I just like
- 42:25Speaker 2: to drive this stuff all we're doing. But right away
- 42:29Speaker 2: someone was like, you got to do this, you got
- 42:30Speaker 2: to do that, you got to do that. It's like, okay,
- 42:33Speaker 2: note book out and I'm you know, I'm passing this
- 42:36Speaker 2: on to somebody that really knows what they're talking about.
- 42:39Speaker 2: But one of the things was just removing the emission
- 42:43Speaker 2: stuff which was just in the way and just kind
- 42:46Speaker 2: of kind of clunky and just just not functioning and
- 42:51Speaker 2: just in the way, very much in the way. And
- 42:55Speaker 2: I need a new oil pan because my gaskets leaking
- 43:00Speaker 2: a little leak. And I got a new carburetor on
- 43:04Speaker 2: order that's coming in. What was the other thing, Uh, damn,
- 43:11Speaker 2: I can't. Oh, I need I'm looking for a a
- 43:15Speaker 2: steering wheel. My my steering wheel is is I'm looking
- 43:19Speaker 2: to replace it because it's original.
- 43:21Speaker 5: And like, oh, so you want to go another way?
- 43:23Speaker 2: I would I would like to, Yeah, I'd like to. So,
- 43:29Speaker 2: I mean, you know, if anybody has any advice for me,
- 43:32Speaker 2: any websites, I've looked nothing there. Well it's been it's
- 43:40Speaker 2: been a little while since I looked, but I need
- 43:42Speaker 2: to go back and look. But man, that's like that's
- 43:44Speaker 2: something I'm looking for.
- 43:45Speaker 4: And maybe look on a page that you know on
- 43:48Speaker 4: Facebook where people follow that type of vehicle. That's right,
- 43:50Speaker 4: because Tomtoms I see a lot, you know, I follow
- 43:52Speaker 4: some of the pages like that and people are posting, hey,
- 43:56Speaker 4: you know I took I got a new steering wheel
- 43:57Speaker 4: from my truck, so I got this one up for sale.
- 43:59Speaker 4: So you know, somebody may have an a one out
- 44:02Speaker 4: there that has the same kind of.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Truck exactly exactly. Yeah, It's it's just good. It's good camaraderie.
- 44:08Speaker 2: It's it's people that are there have the passion of
- 44:13Speaker 2: vehicles and and frankly, when we're all there in the
- 44:18Speaker 2: parking lot, we're all in the same field. You know.
- 44:20Speaker 2: It's like we're all forgetting about all of the other
- 44:23Speaker 2: ship that's going on in our life because it doesn't matter.
- 44:28Speaker 2: A break, Give it a break for a little three hours,
- 44:30Speaker 2: three hours, you know, once a once a month, and
- 44:35Speaker 2: just come out and be part of Central Vermont. Carson Coffee.

- 44:42Speaker 2: a like, give them a share, Come and meet Dan.
- 44:46Speaker 2: I mean everyone knows you anyways pretty much. Yes, Williamstown
- 44:49Speaker 2: guy Gabe Cole's giving you a shout out this morning.
- 44:53Speaker 2: But you know, just come out to these Central Formont
- 44:57Speaker 2: Carson coffee events.
- 44:59Speaker 5: We'd love to see.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's it's not always just at Aspindental. I
- 45:03Speaker 2: mean that's the second Sunday of the month. But I
- 45:07Speaker 2: mean we periodically are in parades.
- 45:10Speaker 5: We want to do the parades again this year. We
- 45:11Speaker 5: want to do We're gonna do a couple of the
- 45:14Speaker 5: nursing home.
- 45:15Speaker 4: Nursing homes, yea, anybody else that wants things that, you know,
- 45:19Speaker 4: like to have some cars, some publicity that way, a
- 45:21Speaker 4: business something like that where we could show up in
- 45:24Speaker 4: their parking lot and right maybe get them you know. Uh,
- 45:28Speaker 4: they used to have one up at the Stowe too,
- 45:31Speaker 4: at the Chinese.
- 45:33Speaker 5: Restaurant up there.
- 45:34Speaker 4: Okay but that has since ceased, but something like that.
- 45:37Speaker 4: You know, people would go up there the cars and coffee.
- 45:39Speaker 4: They may go in and grab a lunch like we do.
- 45:42Speaker 4: I know, we've done the Den when we do over
- 45:44Speaker 4: the Den in Williamstown. Yeah, he opens up and everybody
- 45:47Speaker 4: goes in and grabs a bike to eat.
- 45:48Speaker 2: It's a perfect parking lot too, perfect Oh yeah, because yeah,
- 45:51Speaker 2: tons of room, yes, tons of room.
- 45:53Speaker 4: Yeah, and it's off it's enough off the road. Yes,
- 45:55Speaker 4: where it's not there's not a lot of high traffic, so.
- 45:58Speaker 5: The kids and just blowing around. So if the kids.
- 46:00Speaker 4: Walking around looking at cars, they they're yeah a little more.
- 46:05Speaker 5: We're not as worried as somebody comes to speed on
- 46:07Speaker 5: the car.
- 46:07Speaker 2: Exactly, exactly. Anything else that we can think of quite
- 46:13Speaker 2: April fourteenth, that's the first one.
- 46:16Speaker 5: Yeah, go for it. It's asp about a month month away. Yeah, yeah,
- 46:21Speaker 5: let's do it.
- 46:22Speaker 4: Let's bring it, get the summer cars out, cleaned up,
- 46:24Speaker 4: and get together with our friends and have a great time.
- 46:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and and share the uh, share the Facebook page.

- 46:48Speaker 2: the library.
- 46:49Speaker 4: Started to every time I trace the pictures out of
- 46:52Speaker 4: it and just do my own Do you do my
- 46:54Speaker 4: own rendition of the cars, but just trace them tracing
- 46:57Speaker 4: paper or do they even have that anymore? Yeah, kind
- 47:01Speaker 4: of like the tissue paper, right, Yeah, that's trade. They
- 47:02Speaker 4: call it tracing paper.

- 48:10Speaker 5: grot and one and Williamstown. Yeah, second one I got

- 48:22Speaker 5: That's true. Yeah, yeah, so I could watch my speed now,
- 48:25Speaker 5: but that's been a while. So I've had a speeding ticket.
