- 0:02Speaker 1: This is a bramble Jam podcast.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hallmark review podcast. I'm
- 0:25Speaker 2: Megan and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan.
- 0:27Speaker 3: I'm Wendy. I'm a former Hallmark hater.
- 0:29Speaker 2: We are back with part two of our Countdown to
- 0:32Speaker 2: Christmas preview episodes, where we are diving into the movies
- 0:36Speaker 2: and series coming to Hallmark Channel this holiday season. This
- 0:40Speaker 2: episode will be all of the movies airing in December,
- 0:43Speaker 2: as well as both the reality and scripted series coming
- 0:46Speaker 2: to Hallmark this season. If you're a new to Girls
- 0:49Speaker 2: Gone Homewark, we invite you to take a listen to
- 0:52Speaker 2: our allow us to reintroduce ourselves episode that aired on
- 0:56Speaker 2: September nineteenth. If you're looking in your feed, it gives
- 0:59Speaker 2: you a little bit of an insight into who we are,
- 1:02Speaker 2: how Girls Gone Hallmark came to be.
- 1:04Speaker 1: It's a good time.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Give it a listen. Are you ready to jump right
- 1:07Speaker 3: back in?
- 1:08Speaker 2: I am a talking countdown to Christmas. On Saturday, December sixth,
- 1:12Speaker 2: we have She's Making a List, starring Lazy Shaver and
- 1:16Speaker 2: Andrew Walker. A nattier nice list inspector questions her holiday
- 1:22Speaker 2: rules when she falls for the father of her latest case.
- 1:27Speaker 2: So look, the idea here is like san Anazels need
- 1:30Speaker 2: a little help, so they outsourced a little consultant.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I think that's clever. I think it's clever too. I
- 1:35Speaker 3: like the Andrew and Lazy together.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I'm into it.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Interested to see how this pairing works out. Lacey doesn't
- 1:42Speaker 2: really miss she's pretty strong.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Yeah, like you don't watch her movies and go oh
- 1:47Speaker 3: that was not great. Now she's got a good picker.
- 1:50Speaker 1: She's got a good picker.
- 1:51Speaker 3: I don't know who the director or the writer is
- 1:53Speaker 3: in this movie. I hate not knowing, just because it
- 1:58Speaker 3: makes me wonder is it gonna be sticky or is
- 2:01Speaker 3: there going to be room for comedy here? Knowing the
- 2:06Speaker 3: writer would tell me which way they were that was
- 2:08Speaker 3: going to go. I do love the idea that Lacey,
- 2:12Speaker 3: who is so sweet, Not that I know her personally
- 2:16Speaker 3: or anything like that, but I like that she's maybe
- 2:19Speaker 3: playing against type here where she's like this by the
- 2:22Speaker 3: book rigid huh, And we have Andrew as a single
- 2:26Speaker 3: dad widowed. I mean, I know that classic call mark,
- 2:32Speaker 3: But for me, I'm hoping this falls in line with
- 2:37Speaker 3: sugar plump Santa tell me heavy on the Christmas magic.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Oh so magical realism. Yeah, yeah, that.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I like that. I like that a lot. The Santa
- 2:49Speaker 1: Class we get that moment with the Santa.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Claum exactly exactly, so I have I have high hopes.
- 2:55Speaker 3: I don't love the title of this movie, and I
- 2:58Speaker 3: know it's a change. It had an original title. I
- 3:01Speaker 3: can't remember what it is right now. But you don't
- 3:04Speaker 3: love the title. She's making a list and checking it twice. No,
- 3:07Speaker 3: not really, Okay, you like it because you like to
- 3:10Speaker 3: make listens. I just think it's cute and I think
- 3:13Speaker 3: it speaks to what the movie's about. It does. It's Sunday,
- 3:18Speaker 3: December seventh. Single on the twenty fifth stars Lindsay Vonseca
- 3:22Speaker 3: and Daniel Lissing. A single woman unexpectedly paired with her
- 3:26Speaker 3: happily unattached neighbor finds themselves together at Christmas time. This
- 3:34Speaker 3: was inspired by the song Single on the twenty fifth
- 3:36Speaker 3: by an artist called Lauren Spencer Smith.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Are you familiar or not? Song me?
- 3:40Speaker 3: Neither? First of all, Lindsay von Seca love her Daniel
- 3:44Speaker 3: Listing was not familiar with him until last year's Santa
- 3:49Speaker 3: Tell Me, And then, of course we did our first impression.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Watch of one calls the Heart.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I really like him.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Total Wow, he's Owie excited that he's back. This was
- 3:58Speaker 3: directed by Jonathan Wright, who who did this year's The
- 4:01Speaker 3: Perfect Setting. He's also done True Justice, Family Ties. He's
- 4:05Speaker 3: done a lot of Hamewark movies. I like the premise.
- 4:08Speaker 3: I like the premise. Here's here's what I worry about.
- 4:11Speaker 3: I foresee big fights over miscommunications, and I don't love that. Yeah.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Do you see him being like a little curmudgeonly? I'm
- 4:21Speaker 2: not that's not the vibe you're getting.
- 4:23Speaker 3: No, I think she's the one who might be a
- 4:26Speaker 3: little curmudgeonly.
- 4:28Speaker 2: So part of the extended synopsis reads their special connection
- 4:31Speaker 2: falls apart when Nell finds out Cooper only offered to
- 4:34Speaker 2: help because he felt sorry Nell had to spend the
- 4:37Speaker 2: holidays alone.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I would hate that too.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Don't hang out with me because you feel sorry for me,
- 4:42Speaker 2: and then she's gonna stomp off, even though he's of
- 4:45Speaker 2: course started to develop real feelings for her in the process.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Do you see what I mean? Absolutely?
- 4:49Speaker 3: Here? That's that's gonna be the whole entire what's the
- 4:53Speaker 3: word I'm looking for? Tension of the movie. I don't
- 4:57Speaker 3: you know what I mean. I do, so you don't
- 4:59Speaker 3: have high hopes. I don't know the casting alone is
- 5:01Speaker 3: enough to make it a potential hit for me. I agree.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I like that, I like the premise.
- 5:07Speaker 3: I like the premise, but I I am I'm not
- 5:10Speaker 3: looking forward to having someone get their feelings all hurt.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Because here's my issue with this movie. It's called single.
- 5:18Speaker 2: On the twenty fifth, the synopsis says, Cooper must show
- 5:22Speaker 2: real growth of character while Nell finds her own strength
- 5:25Speaker 2: and being single during the holidays, and we're going to
- 5:26Speaker 2: end the movie with the Hallmark kiss and she's going
- 5:28Speaker 2: to be in a relationship. Let's lean into it's okay
- 5:31Speaker 2: to be single during the holidays, Yeah, which would be great,
- 5:35Speaker 2: Like can we just finally have that moment where they're like, yeah, man,
- 5:40Speaker 2: we're buddies.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Yeah, it's cool being alone totally and.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Then maybe fast forward one year and now they're together.
- 5:48Speaker 3: It was cool being alone for just a minute, but
- 5:50Speaker 3: couldn't do it for that long still fell in love.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Being single sucks. I don't think being single sucks. I
- 5:57Speaker 1: do either.
- 5:58Speaker 2: That's my point is that sometimes we could lean into it.
- 6:01Speaker 2: It doesn't Happiness doesn't always mean ending up in a
- 6:04Speaker 2: relationship at the end of two hour movie.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Agrees, I maybe surprise us. I hope, I hope they
- 6:10Speaker 3: do someday to surprise. Yeah, they're not gonna Okay Sunday, No,
- 6:15Speaker 3: not Saturday. December thirteenth, A Sweet Holiday Romance and sweet
- 6:20Speaker 3: is s u? I t e. Everyone starts. Jesse Shram
- 6:25Speaker 3: and Dominic Sherwood, a struggling writer ghosting Knaight memoir finds
- 6:30Speaker 3: holiday romance at a New York hotel with a not
- 6:34Speaker 3: so aristocratic guest.
- 6:37Speaker 2: How excited are you to see Dominic Sherwood back after
- 6:39Speaker 2: hanted wedding last year.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Loved him last year, loved him in that movie.
- 6:42Speaker 1: And I love Jesse Shram.
- 6:44Speaker 3: I like Jesse Shram too. I feel I think I
- 6:47Speaker 3: feel a little bit bad because of our recent review.
- 6:50Speaker 1: You didn't knock on her.
- 6:52Speaker 3: No, I love her. And there was just problems with
- 6:56Speaker 3: that Harris romance or whatever it was. Was that what
- 7:00Speaker 3: calm Harvest moon? Yeah? Back to Sweet Holiday Romance. I'm excited.
- 7:05Speaker 3: The extended description which you have in your hands references
- 7:11Speaker 3: Jesse's character as living in a New York hotel like
- 7:14Speaker 3: her favorite childhood book.
- 7:18Speaker 1: What is the actual child Looise. That's the I couldn't.
- 7:21Speaker 3: I was racking my brain last night. I was like,
- 7:23Speaker 3: what is it? What is it? It's Eloise, right, Eloise
- 7:26Speaker 3: at the Plaza kind of love it. I think that's
- 7:29Speaker 3: real cute.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I could see her.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Jesse Shram could absolutely play the grown up Eloise. However,
- 7:37Speaker 2: this is abound with miscommunications.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Essentially, two people who are lying to each other about
- 7:42Speaker 3: who they are, yes well, and lying to each other
- 7:45Speaker 3: and assuming things about they both assume.
- 7:47Speaker 2: So Sabrina meets Ian Turner, a handsome British visitor. When
- 7:52Speaker 2: Ian assumes Sabrina is another wealthy guest at the hotel,
- 7:55Speaker 2: she doesn't correct him, a decision she doesn't regret after
- 7:58Speaker 2: learning that Ian is a member of the British aristocracy,
- 8:01Speaker 2: or so she thinks. The truth is that Ian is
- 8:04Speaker 2: not a wealthy lord, but the personal secretary of Lord
- 8:08Speaker 2: Spencer Braxton. So look, both of them are pretending to
- 8:11Speaker 2: be these wealthy people. Neither of them are, but they
- 8:14Speaker 2: both believe the other to be.
- 8:16Speaker 3: So the levels on which we could have miscommunication upon
- 8:20Speaker 3: miscommunication are many, too many, maybe potentially, but I think
- 8:25Speaker 3: this could be fun too. Sunday, December fourteenth Oi to
- 8:28Speaker 3: the World stars Brooke de'orce.
- 8:29Speaker 2: And Jake Epstein. A church and temple share space for
- 8:34Speaker 2: Christmas and Hankkah, bringing together old rivals to create one
- 8:38Speaker 2: joyful holiday choir. I hate this title so much.
- 8:43Speaker 3: I hate the title so much as well.
- 8:45Speaker 2: I also don't love that our one Hanukah movie has
- 8:49Speaker 2: to be a Honkkah Christmas crosser situation.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Yeah, let it shine.
- 8:55Speaker 2: You know, we've had some great Honka movies in the past,
- 8:58Speaker 2: Honakah Onraie, round and round, great representative movies.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Look.
- 9:03Speaker 2: I like Brook Deresa, I mean, she's one of my faves,
- 9:06Speaker 2: But I don't know. You know, look, the holiday choir,
- 9:09Speaker 2: it could be great.
- 9:10Speaker 1: It could also be really not great.
- 9:11Speaker 3: I worry this is gonna be riddled with hygiens, you know,
- 9:16Speaker 3: people trying to sabotage the other, riddled with stereotypes about
- 9:22Speaker 3: each religion. And yeah, prove me wrong, please please please. Saturday,
- 9:29Speaker 3: December twentieth, A Make or Break Holiday stars Hunter King
- 9:33Speaker 3: and Evan Roderick. Hello Baby, Tyler Hines. A couple on
- 9:37Speaker 3: the Rocks fakes harmony for their families over Christmas and
- 9:41Speaker 3: rediscovers the love they almost lost.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Here's what I like about this. Aside from the stars,
- 9:48Speaker 2: we get an established couple dealing with some growing paints.
- 9:52Speaker 1: I like that. M hmmm, we're not you know, sometimes
- 9:55Speaker 1: we don't need a new romance.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Right, Let's talk about the reality of being in a relationship.
- 10:01Speaker 1: And they're struggling.
- 10:03Speaker 3: I like a struggling at the holidays. Yeah, I like
- 10:07Speaker 3: struggling at the holidays. I think it's realistic.
- 10:09Speaker 2: I mean, look, I agree, I like a happy ending.
- 10:11Speaker 2: I like the comfort of these But you know, we
- 10:14Speaker 2: have twenty seven movies. We could have one couple that's
- 10:17Speaker 2: in a minor crisis.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Yeah. I My first impression of this is wolf heavy
- 10:22Speaker 3: on the family drama. Yeah, you know, I imagine because we
- 10:28Speaker 3: have we have our couple here, they're having a hard
- 10:31Speaker 3: time getting along. The extended families cause problems.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:37Speaker 3: What I think is going to happen is that the
- 10:40Speaker 3: extended families are going to be so unlikable that you
- 10:42Speaker 3: end up rooting for the couple. Yeah, And the couple
- 10:45Speaker 3: is going to come together in spite of right now,
- 10:49Speaker 3: they're going to work together against their awful families. We
- 10:51Speaker 3: kind of saw it last year, same sort of storyline
- 10:55Speaker 3: with Christmas with the sings Yep, Holidays has it a
- 11:00Speaker 3: little bit sprinkled in throughout. I think one of the
- 11:03Speaker 3: Christmas on Cherry Lane movies from the Trilogy of Movies
- 11:09Speaker 3: also has a similar storyline. We'll see. I have high
- 11:13Speaker 3: hopes for this. I think it could be a good time.
- 11:15Speaker 3: I don't like that. I don't like the title of
- 11:17Speaker 3: this movie either. Mmm.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Like, if we don't make it through this, we're done. Yeah,
- 11:21Speaker 2: a make or break holiday.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I didn't know.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Yeah, holiday at odds. Oh yeah, that's good.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Thanks. I like that one.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Finally, on Sunday, December twenty first, The Christmas Baby starring
- 11:32Speaker 2: Ali Liebert, Catherine Barrell, and Barbara Niven. A surprise baby
- 11:36Speaker 2: on their doorstep changes everything for a couple balancing careers,
- 11:40Speaker 2: love and the holiday spirit.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Look, we already have.
- 11:45Speaker 2: One leg up over a countdown to Christmas twenty twenty four,
- 11:47Speaker 2: and that we have a same sex lead couple in
- 11:50Speaker 2: our countdown.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Yes, I like it.
- 11:54Speaker 3: I'm happy about it. I'm also annoyed that it's buried
- 11:57Speaker 3: at the end of the season, forties before Christmas, when
- 12:00Speaker 3: everybody has burned out on watching Christmas movies at this point. Also,
- 12:04Speaker 3: mark my words, I believe this is the movie that
- 12:07Speaker 3: the winner of Finding Mister Christmas will appear in.
- 12:10Speaker 1: That's right, that is your prediction. I think that's a
- 12:13Speaker 1: great prediction.
- 12:14Speaker 3: We'll talk more.
- 12:15Speaker 1: When we talk Finding Mister Chris, Finding Mister Christmas.
- 12:17Speaker 3: But mark my words, I have a quick question. Yeah,
- 12:22Speaker 3: is December twenty first kind of late for the Countdown
- 12:27Speaker 3: and the Christmas to end. I feel like it's usually
- 12:29Speaker 3: like one week prior to that.
- 12:31Speaker 2: No, it definitely ended there last year because I remember
- 12:34Speaker 2: we had to get a screener of that Trading Up
- 12:36Speaker 2: for Christmas movie in.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Order to be able to complete because we wanted to
- 12:40Speaker 3: be done.
- 12:41Speaker 1: We wanted to be done.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay, that's right. That's where it's getting
- 12:44Speaker 3: mixed up at.
- 12:44Speaker 2: We're going to take a quick break and we're going
- 12:46Speaker 2: to come right back with more first impressions of the
- 12:48Speaker 2: Countdown a Christmas lineup.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Let's talk series.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Okay, we have bost scripted and reality series coming to
- 13:03Speaker 2: Homemark starting on Friday, October seventeenth. The official kickoff of
- 13:07Speaker 2: Countdown to Christmas is Mistletoe Murders Season one. The way
- 13:12Speaker 2: they're going to drop these is they're going to drop
- 13:14Speaker 2: two episodes each week for three weeks.
- 13:18Speaker 1: If you are.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Unfamiliar with the format of Missletoe murders, each two episode
- 13:22Speaker 2: block is one individual mystery within the season. I think
- 13:25Speaker 2: it's great to be dropping them this way. I agree,
- 13:28Speaker 2: will drop encore presentations of our reviews of those that
- 13:32Speaker 2: we did over the summer.
- 13:33Speaker 3: When will season two kick off?
- 13:35Speaker 2: So season two kicks off immediately after. So season one
- 13:40Speaker 2: runs Friday, October seventeenth for three Fridays, and then season
- 13:44Speaker 2: two will kick off Friday, November seventh, and they will
- 13:47Speaker 2: do this same thing, two episodes a week for three weeks.
- 13:51Speaker 2: I'm thrilled that they're doing. That makes a lot of sense.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Stars Sarah Drew and Peter Mooney. Ken Cooperris is the writer.
- 13:57Speaker 2: So if you are unfamiliar with Missiles, it was based
- 14:00Speaker 2: on a scripted podcast series that was then turned into
- 14:04Speaker 2: a show. We're huge fans. One of the best things
- 14:07Speaker 2: Hallmark has done.
- 14:08Speaker 3: It's so good, it's beyond good.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely worth your time. If you are missing Hallmark mysteries,
- 14:16Speaker 2: because I know this year has been very light on them,
- 14:18Speaker 2: You're gonna get six weeks of mysteries and.
- 14:21Speaker 3: It's like elevated mystery.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Great, So well done, great supporting cast in this series.
- 14:28Speaker 2: I can't wait for season two.
- 14:30Speaker 3: I think I'm most excited about this out of anything
- 14:36Speaker 3: for countdown to Christmas, I am most excited for the
- 14:39Speaker 3: return of Missletoe Murders.
- 14:40Speaker 2: We got an email from the writer of the show,
- 14:42Speaker 2: Ken Coopris, who was like, I think, based on some
- 14:44Speaker 2: of your wishes from season one, you're gonna be really
- 14:46Speaker 2: excited about what we have coming in season two. The
- 14:50Speaker 2: synopsis for season two says the biggest mystery maybe Emily herself,
- 14:55Speaker 2: when secrets from her past and the shadowy group known
- 14:58Speaker 2: as Kaimera resurface, leading to revelations and a shocking finale
- 15:03Speaker 2: that promises to change everything.
- 15:05Speaker 3: I cannot wait.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Season one was so great.
- 15:08Speaker 3: It ended on a great cliffhanger.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Dive into the series. If you haven't seen.
- 15:13Speaker 3: It, yeah, I feel like because it's making its Homework
- 15:18Speaker 3: Channel debut, you can't just start with season two. You're
- 15:22Speaker 3: going to need to watch season one backstory. Gosh, it's
- 15:26Speaker 3: so good.
- 15:27Speaker 1: It is so good.
- 15:28Speaker 3: If you watch The Way Home, that's that's the bar here.
- 15:32Speaker 3: The level is the production value.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Sarah Drew is incredible. Oh, she's so good. It's such
- 15:39Speaker 1: a great show. I can't overstate it.
- 15:40Speaker 3: I cannot wait, and I don't know because we haven't
- 15:43Speaker 3: talked about, like scheduling wise, how where this is going
- 15:47Speaker 3: to come in our schedule For me, I'm hoping this
- 15:50Speaker 3: is a Monday drop for us, Okay, or at least
- 15:53Speaker 3: like as soon as possible. I would love that. I'm
- 15:56Speaker 3: great with Mondays. I think I'm so excited for I'm
- 16:00Speaker 3: so so excited for it. On the reality side of things,
- 16:04Speaker 3: Finding Mister Christmas will drop on Mondays October twenty seven.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Starting October twenty seventh. Hey, look, I have some questions
- 16:13Speaker 3: for you. Are they not airing season one?
- 16:15Speaker 1: They have not made an announcement for season one.
- 16:17Speaker 2: I could have sworn that when they made an announcement
- 16:19Speaker 2: earlier this year teasing what was coming for Countdown to
- 16:22Speaker 2: Christmas and they said, you know, we have Mistletoe Murders
- 16:25Speaker 2: and Finding Mister Christmas both coming to Hallmark Linear. I
- 16:27Speaker 2: thought that announcement also said season one of both series
- 16:32Speaker 2: will air. I wonder if it got too clunky time
- 16:36Speaker 2: wise to air it.
- 16:38Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 16:39Speaker 2: I also wonder if part of them feels like the
- 16:42Speaker 2: gig is up when we already know the Winner the
- 16:44Speaker 2: movie has aired.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I feel like it's.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Certainly worth watching even though the winner's out there. I
- 16:50Speaker 2: wish we were getting season one, but season two can absolutely.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Stand alone without season one totally. I absolutely agree. There's
- 16:59Speaker 3: lots of things I want to talk about. First. I
- 17:01Speaker 3: see on Reddit, I see in the Facebook groups there
- 17:04Speaker 3: are so many people who absolutely do not want reality
- 17:10Speaker 3: TV on Hallmark. You're missing out.
- 17:13Speaker 1: This is so good.
- 17:15Speaker 3: This is so good. It feels good, but it's not
- 17:17Speaker 3: too sticky sweet, like in terms of like Celebrations with
- 17:22Speaker 3: Lacy Shabert, which is like, does good work too, But
- 17:25Speaker 3: this is just fun to watch.
- 17:28Speaker 2: I think it really leans into Hallmark understanding who they
- 17:31Speaker 2: are and what they do, and almost poking a little
- 17:33Speaker 2: bit of fun at themselves in the process. I found
- 17:36Speaker 2: this highly watchable, highly.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Watchable, and there's a competitive aspect to it, but it's
- 17:41Speaker 3: all in good fun. It's not nasty and mean.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Last season someone got a little bit of a villain
- 17:46Speaker 1: at it.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just fun. It's so good, and then you
- 17:50Speaker 3: find yourself week to week rooting for somebody you want.
- 17:54Speaker 3: You will find yourself rooting for somebody to get that
- 17:56Speaker 3: part yep to win the big prize at the end.
- 17:59Speaker 3: It's it's really that good. It's fun with all the cameos,
- 18:03Speaker 3: guest spots, guest judges that come in. I think it's great.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Now Here, here's my prediction. I think that if you're
- 18:14Speaker 3: not familiar with the show, it is a holiday talent
- 18:17Speaker 3: competition where the hopefuls compete for a Hallmark leading role.
- 18:20Speaker 3: That's their words. And last year's winner, Ezra Morland, led
- 18:26Speaker 3: a movie Happy Howlidays. Happy Howlidays. Yeah, I mean it
- 18:31Speaker 3: wasn't like it didn't top my list. Is like one
- 18:34Speaker 3: of the greatest movies. And I think I think, and
- 18:37Speaker 3: they haven't said this, but I think they're going to
- 18:39Speaker 3: like dial back the prize in this I think they're
- 18:43Speaker 3: going to get a major role in a Hallmark movie.
- 18:45Speaker 3: I don't think they're going to get the leading role
- 18:47Speaker 3: in a Hallmark movie. Interesting, And my prediction is that
- 18:52Speaker 3: the winner of Finding Mister Christmas season two will appear
- 18:55Speaker 3: in The Christmas Baby, which airs on December twenty first
- 19:00Speaker 3: timing wise, I think that's the most likely. Also, Ali
- 19:06Speaker 3: Liebert was a guest judge in last year's I don't
- 19:09Speaker 3: know if she is a judge again in season two.
- 19:12Speaker 3: I can't remember, but I think she has a good
- 19:14Speaker 3: working relationship with Jonathan Bennett, who is a producer on
- 19:16Speaker 3: the show, so on and so forth. In a movie
- 19:19Speaker 3: where you have two female leads, I think that screams
- 19:23Speaker 3: for like a brother. Sure, so a best friend, a
- 19:27Speaker 3: best friend. Yeah, I think those are my predictions.
- 19:32Speaker 1: I think that's a good guess.
- 19:34Speaker 3: And even if it's wrong, I don't care. I'm still
- 19:36Speaker 3: watching Finding Mister Christmas season two because it's so much fun.
- 19:40Speaker 3: He's got to be in a Christmas movie. Yeah, Oh yeah, Yeah,
- 19:44Speaker 3: he's got to be in a Christmas movie, and it
- 19:46Speaker 3: has to be this year. Otherwise the payoff is too
- 19:48Speaker 3: far in the future for anyone to care.
- 19:50Speaker 1: So I hope you're right. I really hope you're right.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Also on Reality, we are getting Baked with Love Holiday.
- 19:55Speaker 2: This is a series premiere. These will air also on
- 19:59Speaker 2: Monday starting October seventh. They will follow Finding Mister Christmas.
- 20:04Speaker 2: They will air each week through Monday December fifteenth. This
- 20:09Speaker 2: is hosted by Tomorrow Mawray Housley. We have guest judges
- 20:12Speaker 2: Chef Anna ha from Master Chef and New York Times
- 20:15Speaker 2: cooking producer Von Vreeland these are names I'm not familiar with,
- 20:19Speaker 2: and Wendy loves a cooking competition show, so I'm stays
- 20:21Speaker 2: you don't Yeah, you don't know any of these people.
- 20:25Speaker 3: No, I don't, not at all. Are you gonna watch this?
- 20:28Speaker 1: Okay? Well here's what I like.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Ten talented pairs of home baker's face off in a
- 20:32Speaker 2: warm hearted family recipe bakeoff. They will infuse their heritage,
- 20:36Speaker 2: personal stories, and family recipes, serve their dishes to a
- 20:39Speaker 2: panel of expert judges. I'm excited to see. Are we
- 20:42Speaker 2: getting a rotating panel of judges every week? But the
- 20:46Speaker 2: Christmas Baking Champions will win fifty thousand dollars and a
- 20:50Speaker 2: chance to have one of their bakes featured inn at
- 20:52Speaker 2: count on a Christmas movie, which is kind of funny
- 20:54Speaker 2: to me. I mean, that's a real price. It's not
- 20:57Speaker 2: just like that's a real price. Is they had an
- 21:01Speaker 2: opportunity to just be like, let's make a Hallmark baking show.
- 21:04Speaker 1: I like that. It's a competition.
- 21:06Speaker 2: It's not just like, let's feature your family recipe every
- 21:10Speaker 2: week and tell me your story.
- 21:11Speaker 1: There's something at stake.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I like a cooking competition, so I'm going to
- 21:16Speaker 2: give it a try. I don't imagine we're going to
- 21:18Speaker 2: be covering that here on Girls on Hallmark.
- 21:21Speaker 1: I mean, what can we say?
- 21:22Speaker 2: But we didn't have a plan to cover Finding Mister Christmas.
- 21:24Speaker 2: And then we watched it and Wendy texted me last
- 21:27Speaker 2: year and she was like, we absolutely have to cover
- 21:30Speaker 2: Finding Mister Christmas.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Yeah, that's just different than like baking. We shall see.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Perhaps it will be so compelling. You know, I have
- 21:39Speaker 3: some ideas swirling in my head right now. Okay, this
- 21:42Speaker 3: for me is not appointment TV. This is great background noise.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Are we talking like adult bakers in pairs? Is that
- 21:52Speaker 3: what the situation is? I don't want to see like
- 21:54Speaker 3: get care kids cooking too, Like I'm not interested, Sorry,
- 21:58Speaker 3: get those kids off my scream.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Well it's unclear, but it is pair.
- 22:02Speaker 3: I love a Master Chef, but I'm not watching Master
- 22:04Speaker 3: Chef Junior.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Do you know what I mean?
- 22:06Speaker 3: So I'm an asshole. Guys, I'm sorry, and I'm a
- 22:12Speaker 3: bit free zone.
- 22:12Speaker 2: We're gonna get a kid free zone shirt made.
- 22:18Speaker 3: I I'm okay, I'm excited. I'm currently watching The Great
- 22:24Speaker 3: British Bake Off right now. Yeah, and I enjoy that
- 22:28Speaker 3: quite a bit.
- 22:28Speaker 1: That's my point.
- 22:29Speaker 3: I think I think this is gonna be a hit
- 22:31Speaker 3: for some people. This will get watched, This will get watched.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Smart to have it after finding Mister Christmas because I
- 22:37Speaker 2: think finding Mister Christmas will be a big draw. Yes, Yes,
- 22:42Speaker 2: next in reality starting starting Monday, Desummer's twenty second.
- 22:47Speaker 3: I'm like, we're right here before Christmas. Is ready set Glow.
- 22:51Speaker 3: This is a Hallmark Channel premiere. This originally aired on
- 22:54Speaker 3: Hallmark Plus last year, same kind of concept dropped right
- 22:58Speaker 3: before Christmas, only three episodes, and I believe they dropped
- 23:02Speaker 3: all on the same day. Yeah last year, I don't.
- 23:06Speaker 3: I'm gonna assume they're gonna drop all three on this
- 23:09Speaker 3: same day too, because there's not enough days before Christmas.
- 23:12Speaker 3: For those who don't know, readyset Glow is hosted by
- 23:15Speaker 3: Wes Brown. This is a reality series which shares some
- 23:19Speaker 3: truly impressive holiday light displays, very similar to like ABC
- 23:25Speaker 3: has a show The.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Great Christmas Light Fight.
- 23:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's wrong that we're showing this right
- 23:30Speaker 3: before Christmas, Like get people hyped, inspire people to decorate
- 23:35Speaker 3: their homes. You want to put this a little closer
- 23:38Speaker 3: to Thanksgiving.
- 23:39Speaker 2: For me, it's very weird because on Hallmark's official schedule
- 23:43Speaker 2: they show Monday twelve, twenty two Readyset Glow series premiere,
- 23:47Speaker 2: but they don't show beyond that. They don't show what
- 23:52Speaker 2: else is when those are comings, I gonna.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Drop all three.
- 23:56Speaker 3: I mean it'll be like six, seven and eight pm.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Hallmark's real great with it. Pivot because if you were
- 24:02Speaker 3: not aware, we're recording this on Monday, September twenty second,
- 24:06Speaker 3: tonight on Monday nights on Homework channel that you're currently
- 24:10Speaker 3: airing Celebrations with Lacy Shaver. Last week they aired the
- 24:14Speaker 3: first two episodes and then they have decided this week
- 24:18Speaker 3: they're going to air the remaining four or six six.
- 24:23Speaker 3: I believe that this is bizarre. So I don't know
- 24:25Speaker 3: what's happening over there.
- 24:27Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 24:28Speaker 3: I don't know either, So I imagine like they're like, well,
- 24:32Speaker 3: you know, we'll just throw a Ready Set Glow on
- 24:34Speaker 3: here Monday December twenty second, and they'll decide when the
- 24:38Speaker 3: time comes if they're going to drop all three of
- 24:39Speaker 3: them then, or what they're gonna do wrapping up our series.
- 24:43Speaker 2: We have another scripted series twelve dates till Christmas. This
- 24:46Speaker 2: does premiere on Friday, December fifth, and it airs the
- 24:49Speaker 2: following two Fridays, on the twelfth and the nineteenth. We
- 24:53Speaker 2: are meant to assume they're dropping two episodes per night,
- 24:57Speaker 2: kind of giving you a two hour movie you block there.
- 25:01Speaker 2: This stars May Whitman, Julian Morris, Toby Sandman, Nathaniel Parker,
- 25:06Speaker 2: Jane Seymour. And this is about a woman named Kate.
- 25:11Speaker 2: She is a textile designer in a quaint English village
- 25:13Speaker 2: who is signed up for a holiday matchmaking program by
- 25:16Speaker 2: her best friend, just as her globe trotting mother played
- 25:19Speaker 2: by the lovely Jane Seymour, unexpectedly returns, turning her love
- 25:23Speaker 2: life and family dynamics upside down. I gotta admit I
- 25:26Speaker 2: tried to read the book and was.
- 25:28Speaker 1: So bored I never finished it.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Oh no, no, May Whitman has a good picker. May
- 25:34Speaker 3: Whitman's great if you're not familiar with May Whitman has
- 25:38Speaker 3: been around like since that child.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Yes, I know, one fine day. Oh, yes, you're right,
- 25:46Speaker 1: isn't she in that?
- 25:47Speaker 2: Yes, that's a great movie with George This Little Girl, Yeah,
- 25:51Speaker 2: George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer.
- 25:53Speaker 3: Yeah, but she was I think she's probably best known
- 25:56Speaker 3: for Parenthood.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you're right.
- 25:58Speaker 3: She went on to do an NBC series called Good Girls,
- 26:02Speaker 3: which was really good. Really Oh yes, yeah, I loved it,
- 26:08Speaker 3: loved it.
- 26:09Speaker 1: I loved that as well.
- 26:10Speaker 3: I like her a lot.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I do have high hopes for this series in
- 26:13Speaker 2: spite of the fact that I couldn't get into the book.
- 26:16Speaker 2: I hope it translates better on screen.
- 26:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I wonder who. We don't know who the screenwriter is.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Screenwriter is for this, not at the moment, or the
- 26:25Speaker 3: showrunner or anybody.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Right, No, but we will be watching this for sure.
- 26:30Speaker 3: We will be watching this. I'm looking forward to it.
- 26:33Speaker 3: I saw the trailer. I liked it too, so I
- 26:37Speaker 3: think it could be fun.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Look, I know people are upset. They look at this
- 26:41Speaker 2: list and they're like, I wanted forty movies. You still
- 26:44Speaker 2: have Friday, Saturday, Sunday programming. You actually have Friday, Saturday,
- 26:48Speaker 2: Sunday Monday programming in most cases. And I'm encouraging people
- 26:53Speaker 2: to have an open mind about some of these series,
- 26:57Speaker 2: which might push you a little outside of your comfort zone.
- 27:00Speaker 2: I think they're gonna bring you those holiday vibes that
- 27:03Speaker 2: you're looking for. In Hallmark without simply being a night
- 27:08Speaker 2: after night repeat of movies of Hallmark formula movies. It
- 27:13Speaker 2: gives us a chance to keep things fresh. Yeah, so
- 27:15Speaker 2: I really hope people give these a chance.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Yeah me too. I get real.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Defensive and people are like, I hate reality, Like it's
- 27:22Speaker 2: not the Real Housewives of Vancouver. Here all right, people,
