- 1:10Speaker 5: seen the black forces with the white laces.
- 1:11Speaker 4: That's how he was in Indianapolis.

- 1:21Speaker 6: Yeah, hey, you know the black air forms went nasty.
- 1:25Speaker 6: But you know everybody that's penitentiary chances right here, Hey,
- 1:30Speaker 6: criminal Bob, he.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Might not rob you, but he might scam you with
- 1:33Speaker 1: the white las You know what I'm saying, My man,
- 1:35Speaker 1: my bad.
- 1:36Speaker 4: But to my right, my dog, young young team, how
- 1:38Speaker 4: you would man?
- 1:39Speaker 1: And I'm cooling bro in Dallas has been a good time.
- 1:42Speaker 1: The Bobs was right. Hennessy got me right, y'all know
- 1:44Speaker 1: how I get when I get that Hennessy, I get
- 1:46Speaker 1: to sweat a little bit about bag of food in here.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I don't do too much trying to renew this contract.
- 1:53Speaker 1: But to my left, we got a legend, legend, legend legend.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Y'all don't even notice. He's from the Midwest though, Yeah,
- 2:00Speaker 1: from the Midwest. But he made big noise down here
- 2:02Speaker 1: in the city Dallas.
- 2:03Speaker 5: Put a banner up. We got the matrix shine Mary
- 2:06Speaker 5: in the building. Appreciate you pulling up, big dog.
- 2:10Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm excited because I know y'all got some shit
- 2:13Speaker 6: for me.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Oh yeah, we definitely got a lot to talk about it.
- 2:15Speaker 1: But first, you know what I'm saying, we always talked
- 2:17Speaker 1: with the fullwear game. People who don't know this is
- 2:19Speaker 1: sleep but you're a legend, especially with the footwear game
- 2:23Speaker 1: and the Jordan pees.
- 2:24Speaker 4: How did that come about?
- 2:26Speaker 2: So look, you know it's an interesting story.
- 2:29Speaker 6: So everybody me calling me about them damn shoes too
- 2:32Speaker 6: though that Joe was like I need a pair of those,
- 2:34Speaker 6: and everybody, I'm like, yo, I didn't even have a
- 2:36Speaker 6: pair when everybody was asking me for a pair. Because
- 2:39Speaker 6: during my uh, I think it's my third year and
- 2:41Speaker 6: I almost basically became a free agent shoe so like
- 2:44Speaker 6: I was a shoe hall. So everybody was sending me kicks,
- 2:47Speaker 6: and uh, I was gonna go with Jordan. A lot
- 2:49Speaker 6: of people don't know this. I was gonna sign with
- 2:50Speaker 6: Jordan initially, but Jordan's like, tricks, I give you no money.
- 2:56Speaker 6: I was like, what, you would just give me the brand,
- 3:00Speaker 6: you know what I'm saying, the shoes and stuff and
- 3:02Speaker 6: everything in the Jordan umbrella. But I was like, shit,
- 3:04Speaker 6: if I'm in the Nike I'm getting it anyway, right,
- 3:06Speaker 6: He's like, yeah, it's I was like, and they gonna
- 3:09Speaker 6: pay me.
- 3:10Speaker 2: So I was like, I'm going there. I'm going Team Nike.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Now I get that shape.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Yeah. But he made me.
- 3:18Speaker 4: He was making me.
- 3:18Speaker 6: He was sending me Jeordians throughout the year when I
- 3:20Speaker 6: was deciding on what team I want brand I want
- 3:22Speaker 6: to go with. So he ended up sending me a
- 3:25Speaker 6: shipment of the PE five's and they got lumped in
- 3:28Speaker 6: with everything else. And what happened was during that process,
- 3:32Speaker 6: I was getting so many shoes and I was wearing
- 3:35Speaker 6: I was wearing twelves a lot at the time. So
- 3:39Speaker 6: they came the customers came in, but I never received
- 3:41Speaker 6: them because I was wearing a new pair of shoes
- 3:44Speaker 6: every game. So with so many that came in, they
- 3:46Speaker 6: got lumped in. And then I was moving around and
- 3:48Speaker 6: doing so much and went to Nike and they they
- 3:52Speaker 6: had made me a custom pair of Pees, but PJ.
- 3:54Speaker 6: Tucker got them because he went into the vault. So
- 3:57Speaker 6: a lot of teams don't people don't notice. A lot
- 3:58Speaker 6: of teams have a locker room full of just shoes
- 4:01Speaker 6: and all the guys played through.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Now, typically if you if.
- 4:05Speaker 6: You're with whoever brand you are, they sing you some
- 4:07Speaker 6: shoes home with you doing the summertime, you know, but
- 4:10Speaker 6: they always keep a stock for you, you know what
- 4:11Speaker 6: I'm saying, if you with the long ten year old guy.
- 4:14Speaker 6: So they got lumped in. He went through there rummaging
- 4:17Speaker 6: and found two pair. Of course he did so, so
- 4:20Speaker 6: it was even better than that. Though it's fucked up
- 4:23Speaker 6: because he got him out, so I never got him.
- 4:25Speaker 6: So so now now hold on, I never received them.
- 4:28Speaker 6: But I do have a locker here at my house
- 4:30Speaker 6: that I haven't really been through all the sneakers, so
- 4:32Speaker 6: I could have some at the house, but dude, I
- 4:35Speaker 6: ain't trying to go in that mess right now.
- 4:37Speaker 2: So but I don't have none.
- 4:39Speaker 6: But then now you hit a few pair at the
- 4:42Speaker 6: facility this summer booker was there working out, went to
- 4:47Speaker 6: the campus, you know, finishing up his funnel stuff for
- 4:49Speaker 6: his shoe, and he found a pair in the locker room,
- 4:52Speaker 6: you know, in the Nike locker, and you know, we
- 4:54Speaker 6: were the same side of shoes. So he grabbed him
- 4:57Speaker 6: and then he worked out with him and posted to
- 4:58Speaker 6: send me a video been working out of him in
- 5:00Speaker 6: LA And then I was like, yo, how you got here?
- 5:02Speaker 6: And I still ain't got here yet. So then he
- 5:05Speaker 6: was like okay whatever. So then he was like yo,
- 5:07Speaker 6: of course he wanted me to be in his Nike
- 5:08Speaker 6: commercials that came out and then end up wearing them
- 5:12Speaker 6: the night of the Jersey retirement he won. He don't
- 5:15Speaker 6: even want them twice and then he gave him to
- 5:17Speaker 6: me because I don't have a pair as I know
- 5:19Speaker 6: of right now. So that's the only pair I have
- 5:21Speaker 6: that he gave to me because he got him from
- 5:22Speaker 6: Nike this summer.
- 5:23Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 5:25Speaker 7: I want to ask you, how in the hell did
- 5:27Speaker 7: you end up at Vincent's university?
- 5:29Speaker 2: Bro We from Indiana, Trail Blazer's baby all day.
- 5:34Speaker 6: So, so when I was coming out of high school,
- 5:37Speaker 6: right you know, me and my boys talking about yesterday
- 5:40Speaker 6: and like I didn't pass the ACT score back then.
- 5:44Speaker 6: You remember it was ACT n SAT. So I was
- 5:46Speaker 6: one point short. I had a GPA, I had like
- 5:48Speaker 6: a beat. I was always been a smart so I
- 5:50Speaker 6: just for one point, I missed one big part on
- 5:52Speaker 6: that test. I was one point short, and I didn't
- 5:54Speaker 6: want to wait another another another half a year to
- 5:56Speaker 6: take the test again. So I decided. I was like,
- 5:59Speaker 6: fuck it, I'm I'm want to I need to get
- 6:00Speaker 6: out of here. I need to go play ball. So
- 6:02Speaker 6: then I visited Vinceon's now visits in Northwest Mississippi junior colleges,
- 6:07Speaker 6: and I was like, Let'm gonna go. Once I went
- 6:10Speaker 6: to VU, the campus, it was it was a no brainer,
- 6:13Speaker 6: and the coach was like, yo, whatever you need and
- 6:16Speaker 6: whatever you want you got here.
- 6:18Speaker 2: So locked in and that was. That was two of
- 6:21Speaker 2: my best years I've ever had.
- 6:22Speaker 6: Playing though, when we did everything and they lived a
- 6:25Speaker 6: red carpet out for me, it was dope for sure.
- 6:27Speaker 7: We used to go down there and party and I
- 6:29Speaker 7: used to see your name on the bedroom. I'm like,
- 6:31Speaker 7: ain't no fucking way.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Listen, listen part I'm married from thirty eighth.
- 6:38Speaker 6: Gotta be from the ghetto, man. You know this has
- 6:42Speaker 6: got so much history though, you know, Yeah, legends went
- 6:45Speaker 6: through there. Bob mcadeal, Eric Williams and Tyrone Nasby, some guys,
- 6:49Speaker 6: lot of guys that played the pro. They had great
- 6:50Speaker 6: careers there. You know, I think I was the best one,
- 6:52Speaker 6: but you know, by far, it is what it is.
- 6:56Speaker 6: You know, I don't I'm a spacfectual. Guy.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I don't lie me too.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Yeah, come on, it was all conference two years in
- 7:03Speaker 1: a row. Baby, Oh yeah yeah male. Soon after the
- 7:05Speaker 1: year as well too, though a lot of studying the
- 7:09Speaker 1: Vince Hands up. He didn't know about the Vince hands
- 7:11Speaker 1: parties legendary.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Oh they were.
- 7:14Speaker 6: I ain't gonna even lie to. They did some shipped
- 7:15Speaker 6: there that a lot of the Division one schools don't do.
- 7:17Speaker 6: It was it was some dope walky talkie type ship.
- 7:20Speaker 4: You know, they got looking at.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Walking.
- 7:25Speaker 6: They got they got the walking talking here, so they
- 7:26Speaker 6: gotta look out guys.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Man, it was it was late.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Tell them about when you went to didy House. Oh shine,
- 7:35Speaker 5: no entertained. That's what other podcast.
- 7:39Speaker 4: We ain't at the cruise.
- 7:40Speaker 2: I was gonna say something.
- 7:41Speaker 1: On this chill sorry, Oh my god, they got a
- 7:47Speaker 1: different walking talking to that party.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Don't do that. This is about Mary.
- 7:54Speaker 2: I don't want to after this.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Back back.
- 7:59Speaker 5: But obviously you transfer to UNLV. How was that process like?
- 8:04Speaker 5: Because I know everybody in the world wanted you coming
- 8:06Speaker 5: out as a ju call American. Obviously the way you played.
- 8:09Speaker 5: You went to the school that really fit the way
- 8:10Speaker 5: you played basketball.
- 8:12Speaker 6: So look, so my dream school was North Carolina. Dude,
- 8:15Speaker 6: I was gonna be a tar Hill. I was like,
- 8:16Speaker 6: that's all I fucked with in MJ Man, you know
- 8:19Speaker 6: more than I say, so I was. Actually, they had
- 8:23Speaker 6: one scholarship available and Bob mcadoo's only guy that came
- 8:26Speaker 6: from North Carolina. They recruited from Jimmy College. So Dean Smith,
- 8:30Speaker 6: that's one guy. Ever, so I was gonna be the
- 8:31Speaker 6: second guy. Dean Smith told me, henna have a scholarship available.
- 8:35Speaker 6: It's a crazy story too. He had because he had
- 8:37Speaker 6: one scholarship become available and it's yours if you wanted.
- 8:40Speaker 6: My coach came to me was like, Yo, it's yours
- 8:42Speaker 6: if you want it. I was like, for real, Oh shit,
- 8:45Speaker 6: I don't say no more, say less. So get through
- 8:49Speaker 6: the year. Some shit happened or whatever, and I guess
- 8:53Speaker 6: he ended up getting sick or whatever he had to retire.
- 8:56Speaker 6: So that kind of put that on hold because I
- 8:59Speaker 6: wanted to go play for Dean Smith. You know what
- 9:00Speaker 6: I'm saying. That's the legend of myth, the all the
- 9:04Speaker 6: history everything there, So I want to go play with him.
- 9:06Speaker 6: And then it just didn't happened. So I was like Okay,
- 9:08Speaker 6: now I'm not going North Carolina, so now I need
- 9:10Speaker 6: to go somewhere warm. Beating this dem code. That's so
- 9:13Speaker 6: in the end, that was a motherfucker being their crib. Yeah,
- 9:16Speaker 6: it was different beasts down there. So I put all
- 9:19Speaker 6: my energy towards the West Coast. So I was like,
- 9:21Speaker 6: you know, USC was hounding me UNLV. So I went
- 9:25Speaker 6: and visited both of those places, and I was like,
- 9:28Speaker 6: I felt more comfortable, more at home with the rebels.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Man.
- 9:31Speaker 6: And uh, you know my guy, coach Glenn Sippery and
- 9:33Speaker 6: my guy man, it's my guy to this day.
- 9:35Speaker 4: Man.
- 9:35Speaker 2: You know, he was like, yo, come down here' gonna
- 9:37Speaker 2: take care of you. So hey, I went out there and.
- 9:40Speaker 4: What do you mean that? Huh? Oh I got back Okay,
- 9:45Speaker 4: just making sure stop playing that game.
- 9:48Speaker 2: It wasn't legal then, you know what I'm saying.
- 9:51Speaker 4: Oh was it Vegas? It was legal.
- 9:52Speaker 6: Everything goes out there. You know the stories you hear
- 9:55Speaker 6: about the rebels back in the day.
- 9:56Speaker 4: With that ship was true.
- 9:59Speaker 6: All that ship with Stacey. Doc had his own business.
- 10:01Speaker 6: Them guys used to walk in the mall. He used
- 10:02Speaker 6: to give them bags and anything they going. Man, it
- 10:04Speaker 6: was real that man Vegas is one stop shop.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Kid.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Everything goes out there, man, and uh I loved it
- 10:09Speaker 2: out there. It was one. It was just one, one
- 10:12Speaker 2: step in phase onto the next one.
- 10:13Speaker 4: You should never went to way you should have with
- 10:14Speaker 4: the U n LV, I'm a chip.
- 10:21Speaker 8: You got a legendary Vegas story. We gonna relax for
- 10:26Speaker 8: the company, y'all. On to the ninety nine NBA draft.
- 10:31Speaker 8: With the night ninety nine draft, I was this man
- 10:34Speaker 8: going to the league. How was that process? I mean
- 10:37Speaker 8: it was dream from true.
- 10:39Speaker 6: I think you know, when you when you set out
- 10:41Speaker 6: to do certain things and being exposed to being around
- 10:45Speaker 6: guys in the league and stuff like like young games man,
- 10:47Speaker 6: you create the appetite and a lot of people don't
- 10:50Speaker 6: have a lot of drive. You know, it takes it
- 10:52Speaker 6: takes a lot of sacrifice and a lot of a
- 10:55Speaker 6: lot of discipline to be successful at this game.
- 10:58Speaker 2: I don't think people really to.
- 10:59Speaker 6: Understand that, like a lot of people, takes a lot
- 11:00Speaker 6: of things for granted, you know, I've been truly blessed
- 11:02Speaker 6: to play this game a long time and give it.
- 11:04Speaker 6: I think what the identity I was a big part
- 11:06Speaker 6: of what the identity of the league is right now,
- 11:08Speaker 6: if you know anything about basketball.
- 11:10Speaker 2: That's that's just is what it is.
- 11:12Speaker 6: First, got to go small to make a team, transition
- 11:15Speaker 6: to playing gods out of normal positions. So well, but
- 11:18Speaker 6: my mindset, it's totally. Man, I'm a a dog, you know. Uh,
- 11:23Speaker 6: you know one of the things I prided myself though.
- 11:25Speaker 6: When I step on that floor, you just gonna get
- 11:26Speaker 6: it every every auncing energy and every effort you can
- 11:29Speaker 6: possibly get from me. And if you don't anything about
- 11:31Speaker 6: the game, you know I did that. I'm retired. I
- 11:33Speaker 6: can do what the hell they put the plan in
- 11:35Speaker 6: front of her. I'm grown, I'm retired.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Ship.
- 11:38Speaker 4: They're resourceful, man, I enjoy life, creative, I enjoyment.
- 11:43Speaker 2: You rejoin retirement right now.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Clout with these dudes every day.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Man, it's fun man, and I get to go on
- 11:49Speaker 1: Hennessy tours and enjoy new people and experious new things.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Is all good.
- 11:54Speaker 6: No, I'm serious, Like when I when I when I
- 11:57Speaker 6: ask that question, I mean like you're saying that. But
- 12:00Speaker 6: like a lot of people don't enjoy it. Like the
- 12:02Speaker 6: transition for most guys, it's harder than you think.
- 12:05Speaker 4: No, it was.
- 12:05Speaker 1: The first week was hard, and then after week two
- 12:08Speaker 1: we did a podcast, I was straight, oh, okay, okay,
- 12:11Speaker 1: got something to feel that void already.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Yep.
- 12:13Speaker 6: No, But like you, I'm the vice president of Retired
- 12:16Speaker 6: Player Association, So I'm gonna shout out to all my
- 12:18Speaker 6: OG's that paid the way for us, because I think
- 12:20Speaker 6: they don't get enough attention and enough flowers because we
- 12:23Speaker 6: don't talk about them. I know, everybody is more call
- 12:25Speaker 6: up and the more current and what's going on right
- 12:27Speaker 6: now with the current guys and shit, but the guys
- 12:29Speaker 6: that lay that foundation for us, they don't get their flowers,
- 12:32Speaker 6: and they deserve it hands down. Like every time I
- 12:34Speaker 6: see the OG I'm all like, thank you, thank you,
- 12:37Speaker 6: thank you, And like, man, you don't realize the sacrifice
- 12:41Speaker 6: they did for us to make it how easy and
- 12:43Speaker 6: ours was kind of easy. They really got it easy now, Like,
- 12:47Speaker 6: can you imagine.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Playing right now?
- 12:48Speaker 6: Dude?
- 12:48Speaker 2: Is the ship that they got right now? Dude, I'm
- 12:50Speaker 2: playing twenty five years easy. Best.
- 12:53Speaker 1: I enjoyed talking to the retired players or older players
- 12:56Speaker 1: because we play how much to them, you know, let
- 12:57Speaker 1: them know that we appreciate and that's why we happy.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Is hell to have you on the podcast, Like when
- 13:01Speaker 1: we see you in the comments, we all like, damn,
- 13:03Speaker 1: you see John Mary Matrix on there, so we all excited, bro,
- 13:07Speaker 1: because we really want to show y'all love, so we
- 13:09Speaker 1: try to get more retired players.
- 13:10Speaker 4: The older players appreciate that doing with the current players,
- 13:13Speaker 4: but it was a lot more fun.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I respect that, man. I appreciate it.
- 13:16Speaker 4: Man.
- 13:17Speaker 2: It's man.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Especially, like you said, like y'all Phoenix team you especially
- 13:22Speaker 1: like changed the way basketball was playing that time period
- 13:24Speaker 1: because I was the first really team to kind of
- 13:27Speaker 1: go small ball, which I really wasn't small, but obviously
- 13:30Speaker 1: you playing a big position, you could rebound, you could
- 13:33Speaker 1: do everything.
- 13:33Speaker 4: But it made everybody else adjusted that and especially.
- 13:36Speaker 1: When y'all had it, when y'all had cute Rich, when
- 13:39Speaker 1: y'all had young Joe John come on, man.
- 13:42Speaker 6: So a lot of people forget that, you know, when
- 13:43Speaker 6: they talk about seven seconds or less and they talk
- 13:45Speaker 6: about the team, they don't even that that first year
- 13:48Speaker 6: it was fucking it was crazy. And but like when
- 13:51Speaker 6: everybody's referencing, I asked him, what year are you talking
- 13:53Speaker 6: about though, because you have to defund it because that
- 13:55Speaker 6: year that we only played together one year that started
- 13:58Speaker 6: in five, So there's so much to go into that,
- 14:01Speaker 6: and there's so many conversations, and I know the media
- 14:04Speaker 6: gray at creating these narratives and everybody soak it up
- 14:06Speaker 6: and eat it up, like man, But it was there's
- 14:08Speaker 6: so much other shit going behind the scenes and so
- 14:11Speaker 6: many feelings you have in locker room that came on
- 14:14Speaker 6: me to really truly express and understand it, you know,
- 14:16Speaker 6: especially when you got that mindset of what you're trying
- 14:18Speaker 6: to accomplish.
- 14:18Speaker 2: It and you see it there, you know, I think, uh,
- 14:21Speaker 2: you know, uh.
- 14:22Speaker 6: Mental toughness is one of the things that I think
- 14:24Speaker 6: a lot of a lot of guys in this league
- 14:26Speaker 6: right now don't have right now. Like no, listen, we
- 14:29Speaker 6: got some telling of guys in the NBA right now,
- 14:31Speaker 6: and I love the diversity, and I love the magnitude
- 14:35Speaker 6: of some of these guys are the things that they've
- 14:37Speaker 6: been able to do on the floor. But man, this
- 14:38Speaker 6: right here, like that mental toughness to fight through certain
- 14:42Speaker 6: certain things from that court at that time. Man, you
- 14:44Speaker 6: can see when mental fatigue is a big part of
- 14:46Speaker 6: the game, that people just automatically give in. And that's
- 14:49Speaker 6: the one thing I loved about all the older guys, man,
- 14:52Speaker 6: you know, use whether they were scoring or not, you
- 14:55Speaker 6: just gonna get their hundred percent effort. Though they knew
- 14:57Speaker 6: when they stepped in that court when people played me,
- 14:59Speaker 6: they knew then when they hit to lace their motherfucking
- 15:01Speaker 6: shoes up.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Now they gonna get ran to the fucking gym.
- 15:03Speaker 6: And it was just that I was gonnabarrass your ass
- 15:05Speaker 6: out here, whether it be just stopping you or I'm
- 15:08Speaker 6: gonna give you thirty points the other end. So that's
- 15:10Speaker 6: the thing that that's the mentality I have because I
- 15:12Speaker 6: you know, I just feel like, like, why are you
- 15:14Speaker 6: not competing?
- 15:15Speaker 2: Though? And I see it.
- 15:16Speaker 6: That's why that'st of the reason I can't coach. I
- 15:18Speaker 6: know when motherfuckers ain't playing hard, Like I'm coming straight
- 15:22Speaker 6: at your heart though, and it sucks, it eats at me.
- 15:25Speaker 6: I'm like, yo, Dale, you can play harder than that.
- 15:27Speaker 6: We got so many versatile and dynamic players in this
- 15:30Speaker 6: league and in the game, and it's instead of getting there,
- 15:33Speaker 6: it's getting younger and younger. Of course, but like, man,
- 15:35Speaker 6: what happened to just like yo, I'm locking your ass
- 15:38Speaker 6: up there. We can we can be boys and drink afterwards,
- 15:40Speaker 6: but we get on this court, you ain't.
- 15:42Speaker 2: You're my enemy. Right now. It ain't gonna be no
- 15:44Speaker 2: laughing and joke. I'm gonna bust your motherfucking ass.
- 15:46Speaker 5: Do you feel like social media and like players being
- 15:49Speaker 5: so involved with their brands off the court plays a
- 15:52Speaker 5: big deal into that.
- 15:55Speaker 2: So personally, listen, sometimes I feel like some of the guys.
- 15:59Speaker 2: I'm not saying all the guys.
- 16:00Speaker 6: There are some, definitely some great players in the NBA
- 16:03Speaker 6: that love and pride themselves in this game and dedicate themselves,
- 16:05Speaker 6: but it's a lot of guys who think about social
- 16:07Speaker 6: media first in the game and everything else come letter.
- 16:09Speaker 6: That's real, like their approaches for social media versus the game,
- 16:14Speaker 6: wrapping to your love and your passion for the game
- 16:17Speaker 6: first and then everything else comes later. That's when you
- 16:20Speaker 6: see it, and you see the certain guys I ain't listen,
- 16:22Speaker 6: I'm not telling you something that's not obvious.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Is right in your face. It's up there everybody else
- 16:26Speaker 2: to choose they want to see that. Now that's real?
- 16:29Speaker 7: Is that Phoenix Sun's team though, that y'all that you
- 16:31Speaker 7: played one year with the most talented team you think
- 16:33Speaker 7: you ever played on, because.
- 16:36Speaker 6: Y'all had a motherfucking we was We was tough, but man,
- 16:40Speaker 6: you remember I played them twenty fourteen, twenty fifteen. Uh
- 16:46Speaker 6: it was Kyrie Bron j R. Smith, Amon Shepherd, Kevin Love,
- 16:53Speaker 6: I mean, Mike Miller.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Uh, Brendan Haywood. We had we had a will live matrix.
- 17:01Speaker 2: I'm taking that Phoenix team over that squad. So I'm
- 17:04Speaker 2: telling you the depth though. I'm on both teams, so
- 17:07Speaker 2: I understand that show.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Ain't I'm gonna take that Cass team and Bron, Bro,
- 17:14Speaker 1: what were you talking about?
- 17:15Speaker 4: So you know what though?
- 17:16Speaker 2: If I'm on that team though, and.
- 17:20Speaker 6: It depends on if I'm starting or not, if I'm
- 17:22Speaker 6: if I'm in my role transitioning out, okay, yeah, but
- 17:26Speaker 6: if I'm playing, so.
- 17:29Speaker 4: You locked up, Bron, that's how you kind of.
- 17:33Speaker 6: I'm on a team though, so no, no, no, So
- 17:37Speaker 6: I'm on that So if I'm if I'm starting, I
- 17:40Speaker 6: started to season off that you're starting to to guard,
- 17:42Speaker 6: which is crazy, but I love it, I respect it.
- 17:45Speaker 2: I can do it all.
- 17:46Speaker 6: No, but if I'm starting on that team, uh, that
- 17:50Speaker 6: that Cleveland team. But if I'm not starting, doing on
- 17:54Speaker 6: my way out? Oh, Phoenix were rocking, We're kicking, were
- 17:57Speaker 6: coming hard.
- 17:58Speaker 2: I'm hard.
- 17:59Speaker 1: I want to get off there. I want to ask
- 18:01Speaker 1: you one question, bro. Growing up, when I was little,
- 18:04Speaker 1: I used to shoot from down here. How the hell
- 18:08Speaker 1: did your ship stay there? You became grown first of all,
- 18:13Speaker 1: ain't that long? You should get out of pocket, get
- 18:18Speaker 1: on this head. You know what I'm saying. I used
- 18:21Speaker 1: to be like on the game and never time your shot. Hey,
- 18:26Speaker 1: it's cool, broy, you made it.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Bro.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Hey, so let me ask you a question. Though they
- 18:32Speaker 2: need two people in the league to shoot the same
- 18:34Speaker 2: I don't know. No, no, you don't.
- 18:36Speaker 4: I don't.
- 18:36Speaker 6: So so it's funny because I used to like when
- 18:40Speaker 6: I played though you know what, you know, what's really
- 18:42Speaker 6: really really fucked. When I played, this is really messed up.
- 18:45Speaker 6: They used to pay more attention to my shot than
- 18:47Speaker 6: when I was doing the floor You and him talking
- 18:50Speaker 6: about no, no, no, nobody's no job morants to anybody.
- 18:53Speaker 6: Even so, even look at look at the Splash brothers.
- 18:56Speaker 6: The best shooter is the NBA history right now, don't
- 18:58Speaker 6: they don't shoot nowhere?
- 18:59Speaker 1: Like?
- 18:59Speaker 2: Do they?
- 19:00Speaker 1: No?
- 19:00Speaker 2: Not even close.
- 19:01Speaker 6: So so with that being said, though, when I was like,
- 19:05Speaker 6: when I was playing, this is why a lot of times,
- 19:07Speaker 6: a lot of guys they feel like it could because
- 19:09Speaker 6: everybody was labeling me underrated my whole career. I was
- 19:11Speaker 6: underrated town all this other stuff, and it got to
- 19:15Speaker 6: the point where it was come of eating up and
- 19:16Speaker 6: I'm like, why am I underrated? I'm doing shit out
- 19:18Speaker 6: here at six seven? That most seven for this is
- 19:21Speaker 6: not doing in the league. You ain't getting twenty and
- 19:23Speaker 6: ten and two blocks and two stills. He's not doing it,
- 19:26Speaker 6: you know. So so so so when I sit here
- 19:30Speaker 6: and you asked me that question, I was like, are
- 19:32Speaker 6: you trying to defer that to something, get someone else
- 19:34Speaker 6: the credit or verse not give me my flowers or no,
- 19:36Speaker 6: no no, we got to figure out no, so doing
- 19:39Speaker 6: that that's what they did, you kid. I'm talking about.
- 19:44Speaker 4: The form is what it is.
- 19:46Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
- 19:46Speaker 4: I just know what you're saying. Is it like when
- 19:48Speaker 4: you were younger, you just always.
- 19:50Speaker 6: Shot because no, dude, I just have a lower arts
- 19:52Speaker 6: and everybody else she was two in.
- 19:53Speaker 2: I mean she was one in, just like everybody else.
- 19:55Speaker 4: That's all good. But we knew you was a killer.
- 19:57Speaker 4: I know you a killer.
- 19:58Speaker 1: I obviously played against you, been a fan for years,
- 20:02Speaker 1: but I was used to just think like damn, because
- 20:05Speaker 1: you know you you mimic people younger, dude, You mimic people.
- 20:09Speaker 1: And I used to just wonder, like, then, what was that, Like,
- 20:12Speaker 1: would you mimic somebody that was when you were younger?
- 20:14Speaker 1: How did it come about?
- 20:15Speaker 6: No, man, I broke my wrists and fingers everything, but like, no,
- 20:18Speaker 6: it's just natural, dude.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Then I just kept busting everybody ass with it.
- 20:23Speaker 5: Now you're a part of some crazy NBA moments on
- 20:26Speaker 5: those two people prove. First, we're gonna start with that
- 20:28Speaker 5: three All Star game, man, one of the most orgonic
- 20:31Speaker 5: All Star games.
- 20:32Speaker 4: Of all time.
- 20:32Speaker 5: Obviously the West got that win, but how was it
- 20:34Speaker 5: to just be in that environment because that was a
- 20:36Speaker 5: historic moment for the NBA, especially with Jordan's last All
- 20:39Speaker 5: Star games.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Just to be in that moment and to actually get
- 20:41Speaker 4: to play in that moment.
- 20:42Speaker 6: So I used to work when I was in Vincent's
- 20:44Speaker 6: I used to work Jordan camp, so so I was
- 20:46Speaker 6: in area. We got to it with some footage that
- 20:48Speaker 6: went viral last couple of years during during the COVID
- 20:51Speaker 6: of that pick up run like he had. He had
- 20:54Speaker 6: some amazing pick up runs during his camp. A lot
- 20:56Speaker 6: of people don't know that you know what I'm saying.
- 20:57Speaker 6: And when I tell you, uh, like you you will
- 21:01Speaker 6: she was there. You wish she was there. Everybody who
- 21:03Speaker 6: went there, who went to his camp came from like
- 21:06Speaker 6: either University of Arizona at the time, North Carolina. Uh,
- 21:11Speaker 6: the Dukes, the big the big time guys who you
- 21:14Speaker 6: know what I'm saying. They were looking forward to trying
- 21:15Speaker 6: to be you know, said Jordan or Team Nike and stuff.
- 21:18Speaker 6: So it was it was truly special. But man, you
- 21:21Speaker 6: know m J Man, Come on, man, we call him
- 21:26Speaker 6: Black Jesus Baby. You give the best of Jordan at
- 21:28Speaker 6: the runs. No, No, A couple of times I was
- 21:31Speaker 6: on his team, but you know we are like it's
- 21:33Speaker 6: a couple of Hollis and there everybody. But you know,
- 21:35Speaker 6: Jordan takes that shit serious. It Look when he played
- 21:40Speaker 6: pick up dude, he came, We worked out.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Man.
- 21:42Speaker 6: It wasn't like we come in the ball were come
- 21:44Speaker 6: to work. We're not coming here just to create some content,
- 21:46Speaker 6: you know, to make everybody look good.
- 21:49Speaker 4: Man.
- 21:49Speaker 6: The ship man, you go on these gyms right now,
- 21:51Speaker 6: you go back and closed gyms and see the runs
- 21:53Speaker 6: that we had to you'd be like, what the hell,
- 21:56Speaker 6: what were doing this? Ain't even nowhere near with the
- 21:58Speaker 6: man to the competition that these guys are playing in
- 22:01Speaker 6: there we do. It was fucking war out there, like
- 22:04Speaker 6: regular season or not. Dude, when we're working out, were
- 22:07Speaker 6: working out.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I can tell by y'all all Star games speaking
- 22:10Speaker 1: like that start game, y'all playing so so man. We
- 22:13Speaker 1: was watching the highlights the other day before we prepared
- 22:15Speaker 1: for this and like to see how hard y'all was
- 22:17Speaker 1: playing compared to this year.
- 22:19Speaker 6: I was all over him in their last shot, and like, listen,
- 22:22Speaker 6: there's such things great defense, but such thing is better offense.
- 22:25Speaker 6: I win them situations though, man, Like he literally barely
- 22:27Speaker 6: got that off of my fingers. I was really trying
- 22:29Speaker 6: to his ass up. And you know we still want
- 22:32Speaker 6: Kobe got fouled by jam Hill Neill next point.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Kobe would trying to lose.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Nah.
- 22:38Speaker 4: I respect them, No, we do.
- 22:40Speaker 6: This is for real, like Papa's like, Yo, Matrix, go
- 22:43Speaker 6: get them man, man, Yeah, like.
- 22:46Speaker 4: You like they don't have. They had no sympathy, bro.
- 22:49Speaker 4: He going out let go out on top?
- 22:51Speaker 2: Man, No, no, because he wouldn't let y'all go out
- 22:54Speaker 2: on top.
- 22:55Speaker 6: He probably wouldn't want to know what they even The
- 22:57Speaker 6: best part of that weekend though, you know the best
- 22:59Speaker 6: part of that weekend Morole Carey singing the national.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Anthem that that Jordan dress. Talk about it, mercy. I
- 23:06Speaker 1: wish she's singing hero to me.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Boy.
- 23:11Speaker 1: I'll tell you right now, shock boy, it's a little
- 23:15Speaker 1: shaky and everything.
- 23:23Speaker 4: You're crazy.
- 23:24Speaker 1: But next moment, man, all four Olympics. Man, that team
- 23:28Speaker 1: that I had a lot of talent.
- 23:30Speaker 5: Obviously we know that out come with that, but how
- 23:32Speaker 5: was that entire experience? You know, I represent the country
- 23:34Speaker 5: and get to play with people in the lead that
- 23:36Speaker 5: you play and represent the country with.
- 23:37Speaker 6: So you know that was that was That was a
- 23:40Speaker 6: crazy year. There's a lot of ship that went on
- 23:42Speaker 6: a whole lot before we even left the country.
- 23:45Speaker 4: Here.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Man, it was a ship show.
- 23:48Speaker 6: Oh man, it's it's a lot of stuff and a
- 23:50Speaker 6: lot of stuff, a lot of stories that I came
- 23:52Speaker 6: out about certain things, and that ship was cap like,
- 23:55Speaker 6: that's the one thing I don't believe. I ain't gonna
- 23:56Speaker 6: finish here. A lot of you about no boys, they
- 23:58Speaker 6: don't need to. But so we uh, what happened that
- 24:03Speaker 6: first night we get there, We get to Florida, because
- 24:05Speaker 6: we all started in Jacksonville, Florida that year, and we
- 24:08Speaker 6: was hanging out and I was with Bubba Chuck.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Of course, Oh you know, Bulba.
- 24:14Speaker 4: Chuck go.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Giving that, giving that twelve pack of heindekens, he's good
- 24:18Speaker 2: to go.
- 24:19Speaker 6: So if y'all know, w Bubba Chuck is ai so
- 24:22Speaker 6: uh so we all partying and getting it in and
- 24:25Speaker 6: then like it was the first call, first practice, and
- 24:28Speaker 6: it was a couple of guys like, I'm not even
- 24:29Speaker 6: from the people on boy, but a couple of guys.
- 24:31Speaker 2: I was like, ship, this is the first day. We
- 24:33Speaker 2: already fucking fucked up already.
- 24:36Speaker 6: So uh it's me of course, Steph almost on that team,
- 24:40Speaker 6: and Bubba Chuck that was our two backcourt, and then
- 24:43Speaker 6: Richard Jefferson's on that team, Lebron Carmelo, the young guys,
- 24:45Speaker 6: d Wade, all those guys.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Uh.
- 24:49Speaker 6: But man, when we left here, we we honestly felt
- 24:52Speaker 6: good about the trip. It started off pretty good. But
- 24:55Speaker 6: then man, Andre Miller and uh and Paul got into it.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Man, damn.
- 25:01Speaker 2: So you think that's going one downhill?
- 25:03Speaker 6: Man, it was kind of going downhill already and it
- 25:06Speaker 6: was just a it was an interesting mix of guys.
- 25:09Speaker 2: I think it was.
- 25:09Speaker 6: It was a great talent wise team, but international player
- 25:13Speaker 6: is totally different and a lot of people don't understand it.
- 25:15Speaker 6: And you know, I think the months that you gotta
- 25:18Speaker 6: have when you're playing for your country, it's not the
- 25:19Speaker 6: same as you playing for your team. It's a big difference.
- 25:22Speaker 6: You actually need to elevate. And we were so all
- 25:26Speaker 6: over the board though, man, and uh, you know, I
- 25:28Speaker 6: felt I felt bad for Larry Brown, Pop and all
- 25:30Speaker 6: them because everybody was young and a mixture of guys
- 25:35Speaker 6: and every guy's some guy's going this way, some guy's
- 25:38Speaker 6: going that way.
- 25:38Speaker 4: Man.
- 25:39Speaker 2: It just I was just like, how were we gonna
- 25:41Speaker 2: make this work?
- 25:42Speaker 3: You know?
- 25:43Speaker 6: And it's like and it wasn't like every people didn't
- 25:45Speaker 6: really just like each other. It was just more just
- 25:47Speaker 6: like it's just an imbalance, that makes sense. And it
- 25:52Speaker 6: sucked that we fell short. I mean, we finished with
- 25:54Speaker 6: the bronze. No you know what I'm saying. You know
- 25:56Speaker 6: that last game I had to do it be he
- 25:59Speaker 6: man out there, shot out there, had the hell of
- 26:01Speaker 6: the game for us to pull some shit out.
- 26:02Speaker 1: But yeah, just on the podium, yeah, I was like,
- 26:05Speaker 1: we gotta get out of here with something for sure.
- 26:07Speaker 1: But I mean, listen, everything game as easy as you
- 26:09Speaker 1: think it is, It's not easy for guys to go
- 26:11Speaker 1: play on the national team and you don't play every year.
- 26:13Speaker 6: That's why they changed the dynamic after that. After that year,
- 26:17Speaker 6: they start getting the guys together for two years at
- 26:19Speaker 6: least two three years together. They have the same cohesiveness.
- 26:23Speaker 6: Because you're playing against teams now where all these guys
- 26:26Speaker 6: have been playing together for ten years. They've been they've
- 26:29Speaker 6: been groomed, they've been groomed to beat us. Let's they
- 26:31Speaker 6: mindset and that they play a game and play a status.
- 26:34Speaker 6: We don't play. Our NBA game is more of injury
- 26:36Speaker 6: visual sport. When we play overseas. It's fundamentally in simple basketball.
- 26:41Speaker 6: They're not doing all the extra stuff. They just keeping
- 26:43Speaker 6: its simple. They and they, but they know each other.
- 26:46Speaker 6: We know each other from as a competitive standpoint, but
- 26:48Speaker 6: playing with each other it's a it's a it's a
- 26:50Speaker 6: time you got to actually make to each other, and
- 26:52Speaker 6: a trust and knowing.
- 26:54Speaker 2: What he likes but he doesn't like. And it's so
- 26:57Speaker 2: many levels to it.
- 26:59Speaker 5: Absolutely, and like you say, with that, the way that
- 27:01Speaker 5: they played basketball, and you've played with some of the
- 27:03Speaker 5: best international players ever, you know what I'm saying, playing
- 27:05Speaker 5: with Steve Nash and obviously playing with the one that
- 27:08Speaker 5: did numbers down in this city dirt, their approached to
- 27:11Speaker 5: the game and how they played like and man, I've
- 27:14Speaker 5: been the flashiest, but it was always productive and it
- 27:16Speaker 5: was always buckets.
- 27:18Speaker 4: Was it a lot easier playing with a style of
- 27:19Speaker 4: player like that?
- 27:21Speaker 6: See, the team was different, my role was different. So
- 27:24Speaker 6: so one of the things I've been able to adjust
- 27:26Speaker 6: to I was just the team I have. I mean,
- 27:28Speaker 6: if you follow me, you know that. So like when
- 27:31Speaker 6: I got here, they need me to do everything that
- 27:33Speaker 6: everybody else gonna do. So so we had a great
- 27:37Speaker 6: shooting team, you know what I'm saying. So, but they
- 27:39Speaker 6: ain't nobody slashing and nobody just locking motherfuckers on the
- 27:42Speaker 6: defense and be doing the small other things. And and
- 27:45Speaker 6: that's that's how we com froment each other. When they
- 27:47Speaker 6: needed me to score our score, when they need me
- 27:49Speaker 6: to lock somebody up and lock them up, and it's
- 27:51Speaker 6: just oh I didn't need me to facilitate. I was
- 27:53Speaker 6: able to do that as well too. So it just
- 27:54Speaker 6: depends on what we need and who we who we
- 27:57Speaker 6: was playing. And I think that's That's the one thing
- 27:59Speaker 6: about the game at you don't see a lot, you
- 28:01Speaker 6: don't see a lot of everything.
- 28:02Speaker 2: It's assistent.
- 28:03Speaker 6: The same thing now when you when you see the
- 28:05Speaker 6: real good teams, they're adjusted to different variations.
- 28:07Speaker 2: On the court. And doing that game, you know those
- 28:10Speaker 2: that was the reason why we was able to win
- 28:11Speaker 2: that championship.
- 28:12Speaker 6: We knew, we knew, we knew how to hold people accountable,
- 28:16Speaker 6: and we knew how to adjust and we played to
- 28:17Speaker 6: the level of our our apartments. That's how good we were.
- 28:21Speaker 6: Like with't nobody beating us that you don't give a
- 28:23Speaker 6: fuck who we played? Uh, And it's just that sister
- 28:25Speaker 6: Chalon don't get enough credit either. Why was amazing? T
- 28:28Speaker 6: Hy and Brendan the the tannel between t Y and
- 28:30Speaker 6: Brendan Haywood. We had two seven footers that was meeting
- 28:33Speaker 6: you at the rim, Damn bro And like you know,
- 28:36Speaker 6: Tyson was a lot more verbal and aggressive than Brendan,
- 28:39Speaker 6: but Brendan was out there. He was just he was
- 28:41Speaker 6: sitting there waiting for you to get to the rim.
- 28:42Speaker 6: And like that's the thing. But you got guys locked
- 28:45Speaker 6: up on the perimeter. We locked in me j Shaun
- 28:48Speaker 6: Stevenson j kidd all of us, even Dirt, even Dirt
- 28:52Speaker 6: got his big ass down, was defending you know what
- 28:54Speaker 6: I'm saying. So like when you when you buy into
- 28:56Speaker 6: that that team concept, that's when you and you and
- 28:59Speaker 6: you challenging Mary, why you elevating each other, That's what
- 29:01Speaker 6: that's what it's about.
- 29:02Speaker 4: And like you said, I mean the Miami he came
- 29:05Speaker 4: in Big three Super Towers a team.
- 29:07Speaker 5: But you can tell the difference between the teams of
- 29:09Speaker 5: y'all with the mindset, the mental focus.
- 29:11Speaker 4: Obviously y'all be in vetered. Y'all was locked in.
- 29:13Speaker 5: Wasn't nothing to go, y'all, and you could tell when
- 29:15Speaker 5: they got rid up, y'all was gonna take it like
- 29:17Speaker 5: Jason Terry getting tacked, like come on, Like y'all was
- 29:19Speaker 5: a different level locked in.
- 29:21Speaker 6: Man, listen, man, you go back and I h you don't.
- 29:25Speaker 6: You don't get a lot of time to reflect on
- 29:27Speaker 6: your career while you're playing, because you're living in it.
- 29:29Speaker 6: You're when you get time to really reflect on what
- 29:32Speaker 6: you did in your career and the things that you
- 29:33Speaker 6: did in this game and just look back and like,
- 29:35Speaker 6: holy shit, like it was a hell of run. And
- 29:38Speaker 6: that run right there, Oh my god. D Wade told
- 29:41Speaker 6: us to me after we won a championship. He's like,
- 29:43Speaker 6: and this, enjoy this moment, but you not don't really
- 29:46Speaker 6: know what you did until about a month later.
- 29:48Speaker 4: He wasn't lying.
- 29:49Speaker 6: When all the dust and everything kind of that's calmed
- 29:51Speaker 6: down that summer, you know, I was doing all kind
- 29:54Speaker 6: of parties out here there. But uh, but when that
- 29:57Speaker 6: dust selled down, I got a chense to really reflect
- 29:59Speaker 6: on that run we did, dude, Man, that was a
- 30:01Speaker 6: hell of a fucking run.
- 30:03Speaker 2: We beat some great teams, great team ship. The most deep.
- 30:06Speaker 6: The deepest team in the league that year, behind behind
- 30:08Speaker 6: us and Miami was Portland.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Woman had a lick.
- 30:12Speaker 6: People would be like, listen, do't let me grow on
- 30:14Speaker 6: the Lakers with defending champions.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Yeah, but they wasn't as deep as Portland.
- 30:17Speaker 6: Portland had ten guys dude that they that it literally
- 30:20Speaker 6: could be starting on all the teams, you know what
- 30:21Speaker 6: I'm saying. And Brendan roy was Kurt Kirk kind of
- 30:25Speaker 6: hurt at the time, but you still come back. But
- 30:27Speaker 6: he still had one good game that was like, you know,
- 30:29Speaker 6: kave you the flashes of what he could possibly do.
- 30:32Speaker 6: But we just we just kept rising to the challenge. Man,
- 30:35Speaker 6: and it's like, you know, once we got that, we
- 30:37Speaker 6: was locked in like that. Man, wasn't nobody stopping that ship?
- 30:40Speaker 4: What was that party?
- 30:41Speaker 1: Like like winning in Miami then going to Live and
- 30:45Speaker 1: spending the big bag?
- 30:47Speaker 4: So what was that like?
- 30:48Speaker 2: So dude, it was lit.
- 30:51Speaker 6: You know, I think you know, Live was really kind
- 30:54Speaker 6: of kind of coming back a love at that time
- 30:56Speaker 6: was when we were first really back opening it up
- 30:57Speaker 6: and they was doing Sundays there. I mean, ship, dude,
- 31:01Speaker 6: we got nabbage. We turned it out keeping about that
- 31:04Speaker 6: big ass over extra magnum or whatever, that a thousand
- 31:08Speaker 6: dollars bottle whatever, Like I had two people pouring a
- 31:11Speaker 6: bottle poorn it. Man, Listen, you could just drip that
- 31:14Speaker 6: whole thing on me and it's all just drinking. And
- 31:18Speaker 6: it was just it was just I felt like it
- 31:20Speaker 6: was just doubtas it took overminded me that night and
- 31:22Speaker 6: we was there, everybody was locked in and it was
- 31:24Speaker 6: like a pause.
- 31:30Speaker 4: Everybody said, you can drimp that big thing on me.
- 31:33Speaker 4: I'm like, I fuck what you made.
- 31:38Speaker 5: But that was.
- 31:42Speaker 4: I was waiting. So look, we've been scarce metal world
- 31:47Speaker 4: beat up a song.
- 31:49Speaker 7: Hey, I didn't want to fuck up your story, but
- 31:51Speaker 7: I was.
- 31:51Speaker 4: Like, cut the fucking.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Pause, you know what.
- 31:58Speaker 1: I needed a drink, but's gotta be fired. Though, to
- 32:01Speaker 1: win the ship is celebrating somebody else's city as far.
- 32:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I snug the NBA championship out right. It was
- 32:07Speaker 4: literally this many people at our party.
- 32:11Speaker 1: No for any boy, when the kids, I said, there,
- 32:15Speaker 1: I gotta throw my own championship party.
- 32:17Speaker 4: Damn throw a party.
- 32:20Speaker 3: No.
- 32:20Speaker 1: I couldn't fall back to the brook Lopez walked in
- 32:23Speaker 1: with his jersey on. I said, damn, it's just being
- 32:26Speaker 1: Brooke with no vibes in there for Brooks, with no
- 32:30Speaker 1: vibes for nobody. It was like everybody from the front office.
- 32:35Speaker 1: I was like, nah, I've seen the Dallas Mavericks win
- 32:38Speaker 1: and I seen Sean Mary and getting the drink port
- 32:40Speaker 1: on them.
- 32:47Speaker 7: Did you know though, at the beginning of the year
- 32:49Speaker 7: that you had a chance though, I mean, I know
- 32:50Speaker 7: you always want to play the win, but.
- 32:52Speaker 6: So look, every team has aspirations to win championship every
- 32:56Speaker 6: year training camp come.
- 32:57Speaker 2: Every team has that goal that's coming in training camp.
- 33:00Speaker 2: That's the focus.
- 33:01Speaker 6: But guess what, it's only about handful of those teams
- 33:03Speaker 6: actually gonna speak that into the existence. You know what
- 33:05Speaker 6: I'm saying, Reality in perceptions two different things.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Reality.
- 33:08Speaker 6: Most of these teams know they ain't gonna they ain't
- 33:10Speaker 6: gonna do shit. Now now the parody in the league
- 33:13Speaker 6: now today is totally different. But back then, though, listen,
- 33:16Speaker 6: this is how strong our team was. My cousin's not here.
- 33:20Speaker 6: We're sitting in my living room when I was living
- 33:22Speaker 6: in Preston Hollow at the time, and he was like,
- 33:24Speaker 6: he looked at our roster. He literally looked at our roster.
- 33:26Speaker 6: He was like, it's like, cuz, y're gonna win championship
- 33:30Speaker 6: this year. Y'all gonna do what y'all need to do.
- 33:32Speaker 6: Y'all win championship. I was like, you know what, shit,
- 33:36Speaker 6: cause you you kind of I believe you're you right,
- 33:38Speaker 6: I'm looking at this motherfucker like, yeah, I'm looking at
- 33:40Speaker 6: our roster because we ain't had training camp yet. So
- 33:42Speaker 6: we got some new guys that, you know, some older
- 33:44Speaker 6: guys who came in. But like, I'm like, you know
- 33:46Speaker 6: what you did, all right, we go out and do
- 33:48Speaker 6: what we need to do. We're gonna win this motherfucker.
- 33:50Speaker 6: So fast forward, training camp starts, we are in Orlando
- 33:55Speaker 6: playing them for preseason. So D Steve host hosted half
- 33:59Speaker 6: the team at the house and have a barbek with
- 34:00Speaker 6: the crib. He got atm in the.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Liver room and Ship. Yeah, so we there. He got
- 34:06Speaker 2: a guy tattoo.
- 34:08Speaker 6: Guy came over and we grilling and everybody's just chopping
- 34:11Speaker 6: him talking ship and Jeed was like, Yo.
- 34:14Speaker 4: Let me get this.
- 34:15Speaker 2: I'm gonna go and get this motherfucking championship tattoo on
- 34:17Speaker 2: my arm. I'm like what. He's like, yeah, we winning
- 34:20Speaker 2: this bitch this year.
- 34:21Speaker 6: I was like, oh shit, okay, okay no. So he
- 34:25Speaker 6: literally got chapmanship, chatted on his arm, breaked it in there.
- 34:30Speaker 6: This preseason. We ain't I remember that. I didn't know
- 34:35Speaker 6: I know what that happened. I didn't know that was
- 34:36Speaker 6: pre season. We ain't played one game this season yet.
- 34:39Speaker 6: So I was like, oh shit, we locked in.
- 34:41Speaker 4: Let's do this ship yet. I got you. Let's do this.
- 34:44Speaker 6: So we come up the gates rolling, you know, we
- 34:48Speaker 6: Korong go down within I think fifteen games. Tough one,
- 34:53Speaker 6: tough one, but like man, we we studied rolling and
- 34:57Speaker 6: everybody just locked in with each other. Man like of course,
- 34:59Speaker 6: you know the season is so long. I think we
- 35:01Speaker 6: finished what third or fourth that year, something like that
- 35:04Speaker 6: in the Western Conference. And uh, but it didn't matter
- 35:07Speaker 6: who we messed up with. We knew we we had
- 35:09Speaker 6: eighteen game winn the streets that season and you know
- 35:11Speaker 6: we we we.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Was doing it.
- 35:13Speaker 6: So the West has always been strong like that though
- 35:15Speaker 6: for the most part, for the longest of my career,
- 35:17Speaker 6: we everybody was who made postseason was winning fifty plus games.
- 35:21Speaker 6: So but anyway, we get through the year and we
- 35:23Speaker 6: and we play Portland that first round and man, I
- 35:26Speaker 6: tell you, we was locked in and we looked at
- 35:28Speaker 6: each other's eyes and it was a there was a
- 35:30Speaker 6: filling in the locker room, the whole, the whole, the
- 35:33Speaker 6: whole dynamic and whole culture in our environment.
- 35:35Speaker 2: When you walked into that locker room, you knew that
- 35:37Speaker 2: we was on a mission.
- 35:38Speaker 4: For sure.
- 35:39Speaker 6: You you got you would have felt that energy and
- 35:41Speaker 6: got that energy. And with galls of all the naysayers
- 35:43Speaker 6: and the media and ship, they kept talking. They picked
- 35:46Speaker 6: port they picked something. They picked Portland win that series.
- 35:48Speaker 4: Ye are the favorites to pick the Lakers to win,
- 35:51Speaker 4: ok okay see to win.
- 35:52Speaker 6: They picked Miami win everything. I was like, I tell you,
- 35:55Speaker 6: the motherfuckers on no shit about basketball because we beat
- 35:57Speaker 6: the dog shit on everybody.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Yeah I did, Yeah, I did.
- 36:00Speaker 4: No facts.
- 36:01Speaker 5: I got a question for you, and we got a
- 36:02Speaker 5: fan question. They wouldn't know if it's just true or not.
- 36:05Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying. Obviously we know what happened.
- 36:07Speaker 5: You know they got about a phoenix.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Is it true there was a possibility that you could
- 36:11Speaker 1: have went to Boston?
- 36:13Speaker 6: Yes, oh, okay, yes, So doing that process. Right before
- 36:20Speaker 6: KG went, I was getting calls. So so you know,
- 36:24Speaker 6: this being the NBA, there's a lot of people calling
- 36:27Speaker 6: about accident about people that don't mean they up the trade.
- 36:29Speaker 6: It's part of the business, part of the game. So
- 36:31Speaker 6: like people can call in crob or anything like. And
- 36:35Speaker 6: they asked him it was calling Boston was calling like crazy,
- 36:38Speaker 6: and uh I was like, uh the ball is They
- 36:43Speaker 6: was like, Boston's calling about to Sean and we ain't
- 36:45Speaker 6: entertaining it.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Don't worry about You're not going anywhere.
- 36:47Speaker 6: I was like, Okay, that's enough, said, I'm not even
- 36:50Speaker 6: thinking about it, you know, And of course that stuff
- 36:53Speaker 6: end up making the trip on down to you here
- 36:55Speaker 6: and there.
- 36:55Speaker 2: But like listen, it's part of the business. Get it,
- 36:58Speaker 2: eat it, and then uh, they.
- 37:00Speaker 6: Treated for KG afterwards they figured out the KG they
- 37:03Speaker 6: I guess he agreed to it and that's when he
- 37:05Speaker 6: went and left, but I didn't. I wouldn't like I
- 37:07Speaker 6: would have entertained it, and I had to agree to it.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Before the show, we was talking about obviously I don't
- 37:15Speaker 1: I love basketball, but I like to talk about the
- 37:17Speaker 1: other stuff. So we were talking about the cities you
- 37:19Speaker 1: played in, and I was like, Bro, you're a lucky man. Bro,
- 37:24Speaker 1: you playing some fire cities you gouts Phoenix, Miami, Toronto, Dallas,
- 37:30Speaker 1: just to name a few.
- 37:31Speaker 4: Like what was your we in Dallas? On? Neverman? But
- 37:35Speaker 4: what what was your favorite city? Like?
- 37:37Speaker 6: So so honestly, man, all of them was different phases
- 37:41Speaker 6: of my career, like I was. My mind said, was
- 37:43Speaker 6: totally different every team I went to so uh but
- 37:49Speaker 6: you know what, man, it was it sucked being and
- 37:53Speaker 6: the team was losing.
- 37:55Speaker 1: But I tell them all the time, So Toronto, you
- 38:03Speaker 1: should have been a rapping my boy. Come on, man,
- 38:06Speaker 1: I was trying to get in Toronto with all my heart, but.
- 38:09Speaker 6: You didn't want to pay them taxes though I would Texas, man,
- 38:14Speaker 6: Texas is crazy there.
- 38:15Speaker 4: I was hoping I was on the minimum.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Man. Some see do as a motherfucker boy lord a mercy.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Remember this is right now, the real Matrix. Yeah, how
- 38:35Speaker 1: did you get that nickname though? The Knny Smith? This
- 38:38Speaker 1: is my Kimmy Smith. Yeah, first game ever, preseason? We uh,
- 38:42Speaker 1: we're playing, so you didn't get a chance of playing
- 38:44Speaker 1: the forum.
- 38:45Speaker 6: No, I didn't play regular season, but my first year
- 38:48Speaker 6: was a last preseason tournament they had before they closed
- 38:51Speaker 6: it stable season. Staples Center open beginning of the season,
- 38:55Speaker 6: so we in there and they had a tournament preseason tournament.
- 38:58Speaker 6: It was me, it was Phoenix Lakers, of course I
- 39:01Speaker 6: think Sacramento a couple of another team in there.
- 39:04Speaker 2: So every year he did it.
- 39:06Speaker 6: So first game ever, preseason, dude, I get a still
- 39:11Speaker 6: block and won all in like.
- 39:14Speaker 2: A sequence, and Kenny smift' is like, oh my god,
- 39:16Speaker 2: you see that, he's the Matrix.
- 39:18Speaker 4: And that was it.
- 39:20Speaker 6: Everywhere I was going, everybody was calling me the Matrix.
- 39:22Speaker 6: And you know, Kenny Smith's always been the guy who
- 39:24Speaker 6: get everybody nicknames, and that's it. I became a household name.
- 39:29Speaker 4: That's far getting nickname. Those first NBA games I gotta drink.
- 39:35Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, we.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Ain't drink this one, bro, that's on you.
- 39:39Speaker 4: That's watering that though lightly over there, got over the house.
- 39:48Speaker 2: Big Sean, and I will not be taking no drinks
- 39:54Speaker 2: from yours.
- 39:58Speaker 4: That's oh no, that's crazy.
- 40:13Speaker 5: Obviously you still watch ball. Uh what young players you say,
- 40:16Speaker 5: you can see like remind you of yourself.
- 40:19Speaker 6: So you know, uh, you know doing the drift every
- 40:22Speaker 6: year they try to play young game. I'm company guys
- 40:24Speaker 6: to guys that played before them. You know, men, listen,
- 40:28Speaker 6: I don't I don't see nobody out there there.
- 40:30Speaker 4: See.
- 40:31Speaker 6: I used to say Kawhi a little bit because he
- 40:33Speaker 6: I feel like he never got tired of the court.
- 40:35Speaker 2: And he plays both enses of floor, you know.
- 40:37Speaker 6: But uh, you know, I just think, uh I was
- 40:42Speaker 6: a lot more athletic than and jumping and rebounding than
- 40:45Speaker 6: Kawhi is. But you know for this engine effort, you know,
- 40:47Speaker 6: versatile small forward that you know, it's like a little
- 40:50Speaker 6: bit of this, a little bit of that, you know
- 40:52Speaker 6: what I'm saying.
- 40:53Speaker 2: But you know, I just feel like I was, uh
- 40:56Speaker 2: one of a time, man. This is what it is.
- 41:00Speaker 4: Yeah, Like to me, like defensively, you were like Draymond.
- 41:02Speaker 1: But offensively you were like your own type of person
- 41:05Speaker 1: because you can run picking rolls with the ball, or
- 41:07Speaker 1: you can set them slip out dunk, you can hit
- 41:09Speaker 1: the corner, three, you can shoot, you could attack off
- 41:11Speaker 1: the dribble, So you weren't nobody really played like you
- 41:14Speaker 1: on offense. Now, No, offensively, you were like Draymond because
- 41:17Speaker 1: you can go one through five. I remember when even
- 41:20Speaker 1: when you was in Cleveland, you were switching all the
- 41:22Speaker 1: boss greens.
- 41:23Speaker 6: So so you know, it's funny we talk about that,
- 41:25Speaker 6: we talk about the versatility defenders and stuff, and I
- 41:28Speaker 6: was like, you know, Draymond, and I think I love
- 41:30Speaker 6: his to nastally, love his energy, love his heart, but
- 41:33Speaker 6: I still think I'm always the way better defender than
- 41:35Speaker 6: he was. And the reason I say that is because
- 41:37Speaker 6: when I had to guard point guard point, when when
- 41:40Speaker 6: I actually guarded you, I guarded you for the whole game.
- 41:43Speaker 6: I didn't it wasn't no, no, no, a few minutes
- 41:45Speaker 6: here and there or trying to spread somebody.
- 41:47Speaker 4: I guarded.
- 41:47Speaker 6: I locked in with you guys for the whole game,
- 41:49Speaker 6: and like most guys ain't doing that. So it's easy
- 41:53Speaker 6: for and it's way simpler for guys to do with
- 41:57Speaker 6: every possession and switch. Everybody switched now. But I mean
- 42:00Speaker 6: I can guard somebody for a quarter. It's easy to
- 42:02Speaker 6: do that, and let me guard that guy for the
- 42:04Speaker 6: whole game, though most guys is not doing it. I'm
- 42:06Speaker 6: the only person ever in NBA history to do that.
- 42:09Speaker 2: Only person.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Nobody guard No. One through five, not the whole game.
- 42:13Speaker 1: That's a question. Yeah, obviously, you know what I'm saying.
- 42:18Speaker 1: You guarded some of the best in the league. Who
- 42:19Speaker 1: is some of the people gave you, like the most
- 42:21Speaker 1: trouble so so.
- 42:23Speaker 6: Early in my career, one of one of my favorite
- 42:25Speaker 6: players was Jamal Masburn. He was a big body, small
- 42:29Speaker 6: forward that can handle the ball and just he was.
- 42:32Speaker 6: He wasn't very athletic, but he was shifty and very
- 42:35Speaker 6: creative of getting his shot off.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Man, he had a you know what I'm saying game
- 42:39Speaker 2: to him that was so smooth man, you know.
- 42:42Speaker 6: Giving me a shout to Jamal man he was one
- 42:44Speaker 6: of my my guys helped me elevated, you know what
- 42:46Speaker 6: I'm saying. But at that time, you know, shoot, all
- 42:50Speaker 6: the small for us was pretty pretty talented.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Time.
- 42:53Speaker 2: I was like guard mellow Melo.
- 42:59Speaker 4: That's a real still.
- 43:01Speaker 2: So Carmelo Carlo was tough. I was already three years
- 43:06Speaker 2: in the league. I think I was.
- 43:07Speaker 6: I think I was three four years in the league
- 43:09Speaker 6: already when he came in. But man, he was, he
- 43:11Speaker 6: was tough because you know, he was he was.
- 43:13Speaker 2: He was man.
- 43:14Speaker 6: He was trying to he was trying to score every
- 43:15Speaker 6: time he got the ball. Man like he ain't he
- 43:17Speaker 6: ain't believe in passing the rock. So you know, once
- 43:20Speaker 6: you got him, like, man, yo, we didn't go at
- 43:24Speaker 6: it for sure.
- 43:27Speaker 4: Well, I think we should be talking about Hall of Fame.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Right ship, you know you're talking about Yeah, go ahead,
- 43:34Speaker 1: I think you should be a Hall of Famer, Like
- 43:35Speaker 1: with all the accolades you got, all the things you
- 43:37Speaker 1: did playing basketball, like from college on, I think you
- 43:42Speaker 1: got a Hall of Fame career of me personally.
- 43:44Speaker 4: And shout out to the Phinney sounds retired and number.
- 43:46Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, that's that's what's up. That's
- 43:48Speaker 2: what's that's the start.
- 43:50Speaker 6: You know, man, you know, I've been having this conversation
- 43:53Speaker 6: people asking me that a lot, and I thank you
- 43:56Speaker 6: because you know, at the end of the day, but
- 43:57Speaker 6: you're not the ones, you know, the ones who's picking.
- 44:01Speaker 6: So like, a lot of things are not in your control,
- 44:03Speaker 6: but one of the things that y'are. And we all
- 44:05Speaker 6: cogree that though when you when you when you earn something,
- 44:09Speaker 6: you feel like you should get that reward, right versus
- 44:11Speaker 6: it's like nobody going somebody come in here, y'all doing
- 44:14Speaker 6: the job, and I'm gonna pay you when I feel
- 44:16Speaker 6: like it. That's the mentality was sometimes when things go
- 44:19Speaker 6: on and you know, one of the things, I've been
- 44:21Speaker 6: truly blessed, man, I take noneing for granted. I'm able
- 44:24Speaker 6: to do things that a lot of people will never
- 44:25Speaker 6: get the chance to do. You know, I'm seeing the
- 44:28Speaker 6: world and I don't take noneing for granted.
- 44:31Speaker 3: And like.
- 44:33Speaker 6: I'm okay, I know what I did to this game.
- 44:35Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying. I know, I know exactly
- 44:37Speaker 6: what I'm punting. I left on this game, and who
- 44:39Speaker 6: I am. You know, I'm comfortable, man, And that's it.
- 44:43Speaker 6: A lot of a lot of that I can't control
- 44:44Speaker 6: with nobody else too. I only can control myself.
- 44:47Speaker 1: So that your peers know that she was one of
- 44:50Speaker 1: them guys, man, So I wouldn't be surprised down the road.
- 44:53Speaker 4: It happened for you, but your peers definitely know you, and.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Most importantly we know too, no doubt for show for show.
- 45:00Speaker 1: And on that note, we will get about of here.
- 45:01Speaker 4: Matrix. Appreciate you. Slide on this big.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Guy, love love Max the noise one time hen see arena.
- 45:09Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, all right.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Before we get up out of here, were gonna have
- 45:11Speaker 1: a couple questions from the crowd.
- 45:15Speaker 4: Ain't working, Mike check Questions from the crowd.
- 45:25Speaker 1: Questions, questions, Hey, Sean, Mary, who is the hardest person
- 45:31Speaker 1: you had the guard in the NBA?
- 45:34Speaker 6: The hardest person I ever had a guard in the
- 45:36Speaker 6: NBA was probably Shock No, no, no, seriously no, but
- 45:42Speaker 6: anybody who uh, anybody who was who's gonna be that?
- 45:46Speaker 6: Who was the mean guy who actually was a tough
- 45:48Speaker 6: guard man. It's just about me preparing and trying to
- 45:51Speaker 6: make it hard for him, hey Sean. Uh, when it
- 45:54Speaker 6: comes to free agency, is there when you're talking to
- 45:56Speaker 6: your agent, is there like a minimum.
- 45:58Speaker 2: You will take or it's pretty mu up to you
- 46:00Speaker 2: what you want to do.
- 46:01Speaker 6: So so so look, I was never officially a free agent.
- 46:06Speaker 6: So when I came, when I came to Dallas.
- 46:08Speaker 1: I was.
- 46:08Speaker 6: I was signed. It was a sign, sign and seal deal,
- 46:10Speaker 6: so I was under contract currently. It was a sign
- 46:13Speaker 6: and trade, so I couldn't. I didn't actually go out
- 46:15Speaker 6: and test the market. That's one thing I never did.
- 46:18Speaker 6: So everywhere I went, I typically was under contract. The
- 46:21Speaker 6: last year that I went and played in Cleveland do
- 46:24Speaker 6: it was between Cleveland and Indiana, And that's a year
- 46:28Speaker 6: Paul George broke his league and they needed they had
- 46:30Speaker 6: a they had a player exemption. They was gonna give
- 46:32Speaker 6: me whatever that was. I think it was five or
- 46:34Speaker 6: six million dollars or whatever. But at that at that
- 46:37Speaker 6: point in my career, I wanted to play for a
- 46:38Speaker 6: championship and I was like, withn't going up body unless
- 46:40Speaker 6: I saw myself being in position to win another championship
- 46:43Speaker 6: before I retire. And that's why the reason I went
- 46:45Speaker 6: to Cleveland. But free agency, man, Listen, it's a different
- 46:49Speaker 6: different it's a different thing.
- 46:51Speaker 4: You know.
- 46:51Speaker 6: I didn't get a chance to really experience it like
- 46:53Speaker 6: a lot of guys did. But listen, I knew I
- 46:57Speaker 6: was coming here. Jay Kidd, Jeff Dirk, Cuban, all of
- 47:02Speaker 6: them called me like, yo, you you're that final piece,
- 47:04Speaker 6: we need to win a championship, and it was like, Yo,
- 47:06Speaker 6: we're gonna make this happen. I was like, hey, because
- 47:08Speaker 6: at the time Cuban and my my man, my my
- 47:10Speaker 6: agent Dan Fakan were really good friends. So it's all
- 47:13Speaker 6: a great, a great scenario and they I got a
- 47:17Speaker 6: phone call like the soon as I became rephraging, like no,
- 47:20Speaker 6: you can trade it. Sign trade because Brian Klangeol was
- 47:23Speaker 6: a GM at the Raptists at the time, so that
- 47:26Speaker 6: was my guy from Phoenix. So it was just it's
- 47:28Speaker 6: just all worked out and signed trade five year deal
- 47:31Speaker 6: from the Dallas frevs Shoes A hoo band oh man
- 47:38Speaker 6: of So it was probably my pe shocks M hmm,
- 47:49Speaker 6: yeah they are. They're pretty dope. Uh yeah, yeah, they
- 47:55Speaker 6: my pe shot.
- 47:56Speaker 4: I had some.
- 47:56Speaker 6: I have variations of shocks and uh I had some.
- 47:59Speaker 6: Definitely some players that was pretty dog.
- 48:02Speaker 4: Hey.
- 48:02Speaker 2: The piggy back off of what es said.
- 48:05Speaker 4: You know you're a dog.
- 48:06Speaker 9: You could drop a dog off of any fight you're
- 48:07Speaker 9: gonna battle. Two part question, who is somebody you you
- 48:12Speaker 9: didn't play with, but you could take it. You know
- 48:13Speaker 9: you would take the war with anybody. You know, you
- 48:15Speaker 9: take them to war, any war, and somebody you didn't
- 48:18Speaker 9: play with. Who's two people that you would take the
- 48:20Speaker 9: war with? So who the people I took? Okay, the
- 48:24Speaker 9: first one is the people I will want to go
- 48:25Speaker 9: a world with right now? Oh shit, I mean I
- 48:28Speaker 9: would running back with the team we wanted in twenty eleven.
- 48:31Speaker 9: I mean, oh, I mean, listen, you know it's funny.
- 48:35Speaker 9: I came in with J Kid and Penny hardway back
- 48:37Speaker 9: for two thousand Phoenix, So listen, those two are special guys, man,
- 48:42Speaker 9: you know, and listen, I it wasn't it was it
- 48:47Speaker 9: was meant to me and J Kidd to reunite. Dude, like, seriously,
- 48:51Speaker 9: though we are playing with JA Kidd. He elevated me early.
- 48:56Speaker 6: And told me to do things on the floor without
- 48:58Speaker 6: like and just gave me the gave me the green
- 49:01Speaker 6: light when I when I came in my rookie season,
- 49:02Speaker 6: he was like, you got it go. And we we
- 49:06Speaker 6: only played two years together in Phoenix earlier. Then we
- 49:08Speaker 6: came back here and won that championship and it was
- 49:11Speaker 6: dope only on the person I probably would love to
- 49:13Speaker 6: play with that I didn't get to play with too. Man,
- 49:17Speaker 6: I actually had a chance to do it, but they
- 49:18Speaker 6: didn't have no money. It was Lakers Kobe, So of
- 49:24Speaker 6: course m J was already going out the league when
- 49:26Speaker 6: I came in. You know, he was on his way out.
- 49:28Speaker 6: Uh but uh with Kobe though, So it was it
- 49:31Speaker 6: was a situation there that it was. It could have
- 49:34Speaker 6: it could have blossomed into something, but it justn' it
- 49:36Speaker 6: just didn't happen.
- 49:38Speaker 4: That's good, big dog. Hey, who gave you that? Welcome
- 49:40Speaker 4: to the NBA moment? Oh Mookie Blaylock, Atlanta legend.
- 49:48Speaker 2: Mookie Blaylock.
- 49:49Speaker 6: If y'all don't know who he was, he was a
- 49:51Speaker 6: hell of a point guard man, and I ain't gonna
- 49:53Speaker 6: I ain't gonna lie to this ship was so crazy.
- 49:55Speaker 6: So I got the ball, I'm drimming down the court right,
- 50:00Speaker 6: and everybody was talking about how quicks his hands were,
- 50:03Speaker 6: Pauls so you know, so like I'm literally driven, I'm
- 50:12Speaker 6: thinking I'm about to lay it up, right, he didn't
- 50:14Speaker 6: already stole that bit from me, And.
- 50:17Speaker 2: I was like, yo, did he just do that? But like, yeah,
- 50:20Speaker 2: his hands was unbelievable.
- 50:23Speaker 4: Clap it up, y'all.
