- 0:08Speaker 1: Well, after being repeatedly told by every news source around
- 0:12Speaker 1: the world that sustained periods of stress are bad.
- 0:15Speaker 2: For our health.
- 0:16Speaker 1: What are we doing here? Because this is round two.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I don't know if I can handle it any longer.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I don't have time to record an episode today. I
- 0:23Speaker 1: need to find out who from the Swift so I
- 0:25Speaker 1: can send a dry cleaning bill too, because I ruined
- 0:28Speaker 1: a new pair of pants yesterday. That was exciting. Anyway,
- 0:31Speaker 1: you're with No Dribble strappings. Hello, and welcome to.
- 0:46Speaker 2: No Dribble, the podcast where we talk about netfour, we
- 0:49Speaker 2: talk about so much more. My name's Carolyn Swinda. I'm
- 0:53Speaker 2: very excited to have my little buddy here next to
- 0:56Speaker 2: me again today. Welcome back, little buddy. Oh, hi, guys,
- 1:03Speaker 2: I'll be the big buddy.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Then.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Do you have a name? It was Liz Oh.
- 1:07Speaker 1: I think everyone knows her names by now, but that's
- 1:09Speaker 1: Lizellas and she's up on the case and we didn't
- 1:11Speaker 1: see her on the weekend. You stayed home and watched
- 1:14Speaker 1: a lot of netdie from the farm.
- 1:16Speaker 4: I did watch a lot of Nettie Well. I had
- 1:17Speaker 4: a bit of a big weekend with kids' sports ball
- 1:20Speaker 4: and sometimes you just have to say. Look, as much
- 1:22Speaker 4: as I'd love to go and swam around at the doubleheader,
- 1:25Speaker 4: I had a cricket Grand Final, academy, netball training, a
- 1:31Speaker 4: carnival at Palm Beach on the up on the Gold Coast,
- 1:33Speaker 4: So yeah, there was a lot of kid driving kids
- 1:36Speaker 4: to and.
- 1:36Speaker 3: From sport on the weekend.
- 1:38Speaker 2: That sounds like your kids are out numbering you. There's
- 1:40Speaker 2: still only too need two.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Of them, right, but they play all the sports. And
- 1:43Speaker 4: then there was rugby training on Sunday as well, so
- 1:47Speaker 4: two kids, four sports events over the course of the weekend.
- 1:50Speaker 4: But I did manage to squeeze quite a bit of
- 1:53Speaker 4: netball watching as well.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Fantastic. This sounds like a bad maths equation, doesn't it.
- 1:58Speaker 1: If you have two children and four sports one car
- 2:00Speaker 1: and you were driving it one hundred and ten kilometers
- 2:02Speaker 1: per hour and petrol cost nine million.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Dollars a leeter, so you're driving it, how fast were
- 2:09Speaker 2: you going at the time?
- 2:09Speaker 1: One hundred and ten kilometers and if you threw a.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Child out, how much damage would you want to Hey, Melisen,
- 2:16Speaker 2: I love listening to the three of you yap on
- 2:19Speaker 2: last week, but it kills me that I can't chime
- 2:22Speaker 2: in on the conversation. It kills me, and I find
- 2:25Speaker 2: I'm having the conversation anyway. Now I'm going to quickly
- 2:29Speaker 2: just rattle off some feedback. All right, good, thanks, I've
- 2:32Speaker 2: had to wait a week. Is this a performance review
- 2:35Speaker 2: or is this this is what I would have chimed
- 2:38Speaker 2: in with at the time, and it was killing me.
- 2:41Speaker 2: I'm in the gym doing some exercise. I'm laughing.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I'm going, so, is this all the punchlines? And people
- 2:47Speaker 1: need to go back last week to find out what
- 2:49Speaker 1: the set up today?
- 2:49Speaker 2: Don't they do?
- 2:51Speaker 3: They do?
- 2:52Speaker 2: See, I'm making us get more listeners love it. Okay, Firstly,
- 2:56Speaker 2: I would one hundred percent wear the same stuff as you.
- 2:58Speaker 2: I'm gobsmacked that you don't think i'd be in on that.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I drew the line at the track suits. We were
- 3:03Speaker 2: all wrong about that.
- 3:04Speaker 1: It was you immediately were right onto the group chat
- 3:09Speaker 1: talking about Yep, I'm in and suggesting outfits.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Yeah, just not the track suits. Those dress higher places
- 3:16Speaker 2: are good, Elizabeth, except I did use one one time
- 3:20Speaker 2: and it's stunk a bo I'm not sure of the
- 3:22Speaker 2: cleaning processes, very questionable. I did not text Cordy at
- 3:27Speaker 2: one thirty in the morning, because I've been out in
- 3:28Speaker 2: the town and picked up I would like to think
- 3:30Speaker 2: that if I had, Gordy would not be front of mine.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Those merging signs merged like a zip. We have those
- 3:38Speaker 2: here as well.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Sorry, I've got to go back. Why were you texting
- 3:42Speaker 1: here at that hour then?
- 3:43Speaker 2: Because I was so tired. So I was after I'd
- 3:46Speaker 2: done the Adelaide game and then got up at someone
- 3:48Speaker 2: got allowed to go to Brisbane. I got to my
- 3:52Speaker 2: mum and dad's plays and I was passed out by seven. Okay,
- 3:55Speaker 2: So then I just think of so you recklessly and
- 3:58Speaker 2: stuff that you might give her a little text, Lizallas,
- 4:03Speaker 2: I don't know what's wrong with you in Pavlova, I'd
- 4:04Speaker 2: take them over crowded house. Finally, Karen is going on
- 4:09Speaker 2: ABC talking about netball. I'm signing up to do a
- 4:12Speaker 2: set at the Comedy Store. Couldn't deal with that one
- 4:14Speaker 2: at all, and I'm out, Well, I have done ABC
- 4:20Speaker 2: Radio talking about netball.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Therefore, you will be doing a set at the Raw
- 4:27Speaker 1: Comedy next year.
- 4:29Speaker 2: You know those places you've been uncomfortable. That would be
- 4:32Speaker 2: the absolute peak of my being uncomfortable. Trying to do
- 4:37Speaker 2: something like that.
- 4:39Speaker 4: Sobert Catherine, can I remind you, like you never wanted
- 4:43Speaker 4: to do commentary and you did it. And then when
- 4:46Speaker 4: Keiley suggested that you host, you did it. And I
- 4:48Speaker 4: was watching you on the weekend and I'm like, oh
- 4:51Speaker 4: my god, she's so good. So you would absolutely smash
- 4:55Speaker 4: the comedy store. And when we're in the jungle, Actually
- 4:58Speaker 4: Harry Garside and and Nathan both wanted to learn how
- 5:02Speaker 4: to do stand up comedy and they both went and
- 5:04Speaker 4: spent time with Pete Hellier and they both did comedy
- 5:08Speaker 4: sets for us. So with a good writer and a
- 5:11Speaker 4: bit of coaching, you could do it. And I think
- 5:12Speaker 4: just to your right there is a good writer and
- 5:14Speaker 4: a good coach. I mean, but I think she could
- 5:17Speaker 4: be a good comedy coach.
- 5:19Speaker 3: So I think you could do it.
- 5:21Speaker 1: No, Okay, I might have been stupid to say that
- 5:26Speaker 1: showed the inspired unemployed. One of the things that they do,
- 5:33Speaker 1: so the setup is these four guys they have to
- 5:36Speaker 1: do whatever is fed to them in the microphone in
- 5:39Speaker 1: their ears, so their mates are backstage. Whatever they're doing,
- 5:43Speaker 1: they are being fed information at things that they must obey,
- 5:48Speaker 1: and it makes them it's the most excruciating setup ever,
- 5:52Speaker 1: so like you know, sometimes they're a dance studio and
- 5:54Speaker 1: a Boorham dance studio. But one of them had to
- 5:57Speaker 1: do stand up at the Comedy Store and obviously no
- 6:00Speaker 1: in the audience is movie to what's going on here,
- 6:03Speaker 1: and he's just being fed these terrible lines.
- 6:05Speaker 2: And it's just it's just dying.
- 6:07Speaker 1: And it was It's the most apart from the one
- 6:10Speaker 1: where they were at I think it was a Matilda's
- 6:14Speaker 1: match and there was like a charity thing and this
- 6:16Speaker 1: eight year old girl to come out and try.
- 6:18Speaker 2: To kick a ball. Every goal she scored would.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Get money for the charity, and the guy from the
- 6:22Speaker 1: Inspired Unemployed was told you cannot let a goal in.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Not It was hilarious because the whole stadium's turning against him.
- 6:31Speaker 1: It's like, mate, you don't you know, she's just a kid.
- 6:34Speaker 1: She's doing it and no one else knows what's So
- 6:36Speaker 1: that was the most excruciating, followed by the Comedy Store
- 6:40Speaker 1: one where he is now, to be fair, he was
- 6:42Speaker 1: not able to do his best.
- 6:43Speaker 2: He was being set up to fail. So those guys
- 6:46Speaker 2: blew up in COVID. I remember that because everybody wasn't
- 6:49Speaker 2: working yeah, I decided to get on socials and do something.
- 6:52Speaker 2: They were nuts crazy. That will be good. So Catherine's
- 6:57Speaker 2: going to do the Comedy Store and we will keep
- 6:58Speaker 2: everyone posted.
- 7:00Speaker 3: I can't wait.
- 7:01Speaker 2: What about?
- 7:02Speaker 1: I was going to say, what about instead of the
- 7:04Speaker 1: comedy Store, we make it a little bit more of
- 7:06Speaker 1: a gentler landing for you? What about one of our
- 7:08Speaker 1: live events? You do some stand that, but.
- 7:14Speaker 2: You're a friendly audience, shindler audience. No, what do you reckon? Liz?
- 7:19Speaker 2: I think she should no listen. I might have just
- 7:22Speaker 2: had a moment of being all brother before I'll.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I'll tell you what I did talk to I saw
- 7:30Speaker 1: your daughter yesterday out at the doubleheader, and I saw
- 7:32Speaker 1: and she's with a bunch of her friends from your
- 7:34Speaker 1: netball team. And they said, okays, coaches, right, give me
- 7:38Speaker 1: the give me the dirt, no dirt. No, there was
- 7:41Speaker 1: absolutely not a negative word. And one of them said
- 7:43Speaker 1: she's the best netball coach we've ever had, and they
- 7:46Speaker 1: all agreed. And I said, how many netbak coaches have
- 7:48Speaker 1: you had?
- 7:49Speaker 2: Yeah? One backs getting the way of the story. They
- 7:53Speaker 2: adore you, They adore you.
- 7:55Speaker 1: There was no Yeah, no blowback there at all.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Good. Well, that's a relief.
- 8:00Speaker 1: But tell us about so you had five hours Yes,
- 8:03Speaker 1: I'm very worried about you yesterday, because dribblers are aware
- 8:07Speaker 1: that Catherine goes to the toilet frequently. Katherine is always
- 8:11Speaker 1: on a preemptive WII. There's never she doesn't let herself
- 8:15Speaker 1: get caught out. He had five hours of commentary.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Five hours on air, could not escape. And this is
- 8:21Speaker 2: why I feel like I've been hit by a bus
- 8:22Speaker 2: today because I had to stop drinking because you've got
- 8:25Speaker 2: a UTI now three Yeah, shocking, because I'm I traded
- 8:31Speaker 2: three hours, three hours out from on air. I stopped
- 8:34Speaker 2: drinking all liquid because I just thought, at least I've
- 8:37Speaker 2: got to get through. And then I had to pre
- 8:38Speaker 2: plan it because it's not like you can just get
- 8:40Speaker 2: up and go at any time. So I planned halfway
- 8:45Speaker 2: through the second game. So after we've done the halftime hosting,
- 8:48Speaker 2: like I'm out, cover me if I'm not back, and
- 8:51Speaker 2: I ran off and did my way and came back
- 8:54Speaker 2: and felt much better about life. But it was a long,
- 8:57Speaker 2: long time funny though, because I got back in King
- 8:59Speaker 2: Green's 'm going now.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Did you have your tree pack clipped into your pants? Still? Yes?
- 9:07Speaker 2: Yes, I was I hung on to it. You know,
- 9:14Speaker 2: why did I bring this? I actually mentioned that to
- 9:16Speaker 2: our floor manager before the week I was like, maybe
- 9:18Speaker 2: I just need a shewe and she's like, well, ann
- 9:20Speaker 2: a bucket. I was like, oh, yeah, you need something that.
- 9:24Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, it's not just come with the you know
- 9:27Speaker 4: what someone and say it. The dribbilersm be on the
- 9:29Speaker 4: sideline going oh, there's Catherine with a she weed and
- 9:32Speaker 4: pack it.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Out under the table. But it is a workplace.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Surely surely they can come up with better options than
- 9:38Speaker 1: that for stuff.
- 9:41Speaker 3: You can do it.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Last thing that's so good, And it was a great
- 9:44Speaker 2: crowd and two brilliant games across the weekend, but certainly
- 9:48Speaker 2: that second game farround, Oh my god, it was so stressful,
- 9:51Speaker 2: and so the Lightning and five Birds game it was
- 9:54Speaker 2: the same. It's like, oh my god, I can't deal
- 9:55Speaker 2: with this, but it was.
- 9:57Speaker 1: It was just great out there yesterday with so many
- 9:59Speaker 1: people and just and lots of Vixen's fans, not as
- 10:02Speaker 1: many MAVs fans, but there were MAVs fans there and
- 10:07Speaker 1: actually has been a talk on the Facebook page about
- 10:10Speaker 1: crowds not applauding the visiting team and I feel very.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Strongly about this.
- 10:16Speaker 1: If you are, it's if it's your home game, you're
- 10:19Speaker 1: hosting people, so make sure that you are applauding the
- 10:23Speaker 1: other team's goals, and well, do you mean they should?
- 10:26Speaker 2: I absolutely think you should. It's not a game unless
- 10:30Speaker 2: there's two sides there right now.
- 10:32Speaker 4: I know.
- 10:32Speaker 2: But you've also tried to create a bit of home
- 10:34Speaker 2: court advantage.
- 10:35Speaker 1: But you've got that, right, You've got you know it's
- 10:38Speaker 1: clearly going to be if you know you're going to
- 10:41Speaker 1: give on a scale of one to ten, the volume
- 10:44Speaker 1: of support you'll give the visiting team as a one,
- 10:46Speaker 1: and that's a team your own.
- 10:48Speaker 2: So you've still got that. But you can still be courteous.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I think it's great when people go and watch their
- 10:54Speaker 1: team somewhere else and bring that little bit of light
- 10:58Speaker 1: and color and the like.
- 11:00Speaker 2: But light and color like when you're no, I.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Don't do light and color.
- 11:05Speaker 4: We are the goalkeeper right of the home team and
- 11:08Speaker 4: the other team scores.
- 11:10Speaker 3: I don't want the crowd applauding.
- 11:11Speaker 2: No correct when they.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Bring but bos not a netball thing, but polite applause.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Right, Here's what I do every goal.
- 11:23Speaker 3: I go.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Every goal, this goal yeah, the clubbing to claps my
- 11:32Speaker 2: step exuation. We clapped everyone. Hundreds of people got their
- 11:37Speaker 2: degrees and it's like that was four claps per person minimum.
- 11:40Speaker 4: But that's not a home and away game. I mean
- 11:42Speaker 4: everyone's got a home game for graduation. This is different.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Okay.
- 11:47Speaker 1: So as as players, you are, you're happy to have
- 11:52Speaker 1: the silent stadium. You are happy to silence the stadium.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Yes, because when you and then so when you.
- 11:58Speaker 4: When you are when you are the away team, one
- 12:01Speaker 4: of the things that you often talk about is we
- 12:04Speaker 4: want to keep the we want to keep the stadium silent.
- 12:06Speaker 4: You don't want to give them anything to cheer about
- 12:08Speaker 4: because you know you're not going to get it. So
- 12:10Speaker 4: for the players, getting booed or sledge from the sideline
- 12:14Speaker 4: is a different thing. Although I got to say when
- 12:16Speaker 4: I got sledge from the sideline in the Caribbean, it
- 12:18Speaker 4: was always funny and made me laugh.
- 12:20Speaker 3: But when Stevie Wonder saw that, yeah.
- 12:24Speaker 4: Like that goodly is ellis but one and that was fantastic.
- 12:29Speaker 4: I was like, you know, fair enough, but if you
- 12:32Speaker 4: are when you go into like to play in Adelaide
- 12:35Speaker 4: because it's a bit of a fortress there or or
- 12:38Speaker 4: New Zealand, Like, you don't you know you're not going
- 12:41Speaker 4: to get love from the crowd. It's okay, you're sort
- 12:43Speaker 4: of mentally prepare for that. So these the players they
- 12:46Speaker 4: don't mind. But I've got to say that when you
- 12:48Speaker 4: have a home crowd and the crowd goes ballistic when
- 12:52Speaker 4: you score, or you get a big intercept or there's
- 12:55Speaker 4: a big play at one hundred.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Percent lifts you, it's great.
- 12:58Speaker 4: But yeah, like I see, I don't think we need
- 13:02Speaker 4: to get down on crowds for not applauding everything. Like
- 13:04Speaker 4: if the opposition does a great player, I think you
- 13:06Speaker 4: can absolutely applaud it. But it was just a regular
- 13:09Speaker 4: run of the mill goal. It's like, mah, doesn't matter
- 13:12Speaker 4: if you don't applaud just something you.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Were getting more love though, Let's be honest, Well it
- 13:17Speaker 2: was the Swifts and the Giants getting the most love,
- 13:20Speaker 2: and then Carol and Swindle from what I was saying
- 13:22Speaker 2: on baseball, and then it was the victims and the march.
- 13:25Speaker 3: I had a great day.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Yes, I was fantastic.
- 13:27Speaker 3: I love going to the netport.
- 13:29Speaker 2: The next minute, it's like she is with a dream
- 13:32Speaker 2: blower over here, and here she is with a dream.
- 13:34Speaker 2: I had lots of visitors.
- 13:36Speaker 1: So Ronda, who you remember self nominated for wind Beneath
- 13:39Speaker 1: her Wings, came and said gooday, and she was wearing
- 13:43Speaker 1: her scrunchy. Her beneath scrunchy.
- 13:46Speaker 2: It still works, It still works how often she answered
- 13:51Speaker 2: Cassie and Itch, who were wearing out, maybe we should
- 13:54Speaker 2: just go to the pub t shirts.
- 13:55Speaker 1: That was exciting to see. And I met and I
- 13:58Speaker 1: met a young woman named Tatum who I met her
- 14:01Speaker 1: sort of at the Grand Final last year because she
- 14:03Speaker 1: was sort of standing in a different section waving at
- 14:06Speaker 1: me and mouthing, are you Carolyn? And then she was
- 14:08Speaker 1: at the function yesterday. And I'll speak very softly because
- 14:12Speaker 1: I think Tatum might have a bit of a headache today.
- 14:14Speaker 2: After Alady she had a great day.
- 14:17Speaker 1: So the fan had had a good time there and
- 14:21Speaker 1: she and a brother another friend were there and by
- 14:23Speaker 1: the end of the day they had really made the most.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Of the double header experience. Cool. Did you see Bob Jarvis?
- 14:30Speaker 2: I didn't see. Barb came over and got me.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, very good.
- 14:33Speaker 2: I got a big, smooth high Barb. I didn't have
- 14:35Speaker 2: much time to chat, but I've got some love always
- 14:38Speaker 2: nice to say hello. No, I loved it.
- 14:39Speaker 1: It was so great. Funny though, when I arrived because
- 14:42Speaker 1: I had to, I was in seeing the corporate event
- 14:45Speaker 1: for Netborn, New South Wales, so I had to arrive
- 14:47Speaker 1: for a sound check and I got peaked to drop
- 14:50Speaker 1: me off and I said, just drop me at I
- 14:52Speaker 1: don't know why the Gatebee or whatever at Kudos, because
- 14:55Speaker 1: you know, I knew from Netball World Cup that that's
- 14:57Speaker 1: where the entry would be.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Okay, sometimes eleven years things change.
- 15:01Speaker 1: And I started walking around the front and bumped into
- 15:04Speaker 1: Stacey Rinkfitch and she was heading towards the loading dock.
- 15:07Speaker 1: So I wandered around with her and she said.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Did she know who you were?
- 15:11Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, the Dimond.
- 15:15Speaker 2: I know, I did feel a bit. I had to
- 15:17Speaker 2: remind her because she was a bit sort of and
- 15:19Speaker 2: I said, it's Carolyn and I said, I'm interviewing you today.
- 15:22Speaker 1: And it was only a few minutes later that she
- 15:24Speaker 1: went at the event. I panicked. I didn't realize. I
- 15:26Speaker 1: thought I had a No Dribble recording. But she was
- 15:31Speaker 1: meeting someone from Nepwall Australia to get her her accreditation
- 15:35Speaker 1: to go in and the three of us were standing there,
- 15:37Speaker 1: and the two women on the gate there were very
- 15:40Speaker 1: We weren't on the list. None of the three of
- 15:42Speaker 1: us were on the list, and we couldn't get hold
- 15:43Speaker 1: of anyone from Netbune News South was because they were
- 15:45Speaker 1: in the ops meeting at the time. So we were
- 15:47Speaker 1: just standing there having a chat. Other people were coming in,
- 15:49Speaker 1: Volunteers were coming. There'd two buses of Vixen's come in
- 15:53Speaker 1: and they're waved through, and there's all these cameras up
- 15:55Speaker 1: filming Stacy being locked out of the stadium to go fast.
- 15:59Speaker 2: So Stacey thought that perhaps Sophie Garbin's TikTok would have
- 16:04Speaker 2: a video of her standing there like that. But anyway,
- 16:07Speaker 2: we eventually got God in, so it was, oh.
- 16:09Speaker 3: That's hysterical.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Kim Green couldn't get in either.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Yesterday.
- 16:12Speaker 2: I'm like, for the love of God, let Kim Green in.
- 16:15Speaker 2: I'm not doing this bomb myself. I shouldn't get that anyway,
- 16:18Speaker 2: they do it.
- 16:19Speaker 1: They're very diligent. They do a good job there at security.
- 16:21Speaker 1: So but yeah, I was thinking about you because I
- 16:24Speaker 1: got to have lots of little breaks in between my
- 16:26Speaker 1: bits and eat some pies.
- 16:28Speaker 2: But you you go just rock in the Netball world.
- 16:32Speaker 4: They do do a good job at security there. And
- 16:34Speaker 4: the thing that I always get in trouble for I
- 16:36Speaker 4: don't know about you guys. When you walk down into
- 16:38Speaker 4: that loading doc, I think there's something wrong with me.
- 16:42Speaker 4: I always walk the wrong way and they always yell
- 16:44Speaker 4: at me like, I don't know, do you guys, Like
- 16:47Speaker 4: we didn't know there's something wrong with me? But I
- 16:52Speaker 4: do it all the time. It's like there's this I
- 16:54Speaker 4: just if there's a right way to walk and a
- 16:56Speaker 4: wrong way to walk, I always choose the wrong way
- 16:58Speaker 4: and I think it's the right way and I don't know,
- 17:01Speaker 4: like it's anyway, And it always happens at Kutos. It's
- 17:04Speaker 4: the worst for me, and I'm sure the people there
- 17:07Speaker 4: on the gate just think, oh my god, here comes
- 17:09Speaker 4: this woman who can't read signs.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Every time?
- 17:12Speaker 2: Is this like in the car park part, you know.
- 17:15Speaker 4: When the loading dock where you walk in there's a
- 17:17Speaker 4: boom gate and you get down to the car park
- 17:20Speaker 4: and it's really clearly marked where the pedestrian stuff is.
- 17:23Speaker 4: But I always just wander off because I'm daydreaming most
- 17:26Speaker 4: of the time, and I always wonder off on wander
- 17:28Speaker 4: the wrong way, but.
- 17:30Speaker 2: It happens the fans. I had no idea who stays
- 17:33Speaker 2: in the Marinkovichua. She had the seller name say it
- 17:36Speaker 2: several times and it's so great.
- 17:39Speaker 3: I love that.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Your stuff are hilarious.
- 17:43Speaker 3: I did, though.
- 17:44Speaker 1: The Swiss charity partner is the Kids Cancer Project. They've
- 17:47Speaker 1: been partners for sixteen years and yesterday and to be
- 17:49Speaker 1: a young woman who's an ambassador for the Kids Cancer
- 17:51Speaker 1: Project names Ash Thomas, and she had osteosarcoma when she
- 17:56Speaker 1: was twelve, which is a bone cancer, and she had
- 17:58Speaker 1: like twenty class rounds of chemo surgery, all sorts of health.
- 18:03Speaker 1: She's twenty one years old. Now she's in remission, she's studying.
- 18:06Speaker 1: And then she's on stage and she said, you know,
- 18:09Speaker 1: I'm back. I'm physically really well. I don't play netball
- 18:12Speaker 1: though I do CrossFit. And I say, oh, that's exciting.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Let's talk about that instead of anything else for twenty minutes.
- 18:16Speaker 2: But we didn't.
- 18:17Speaker 1: But afterwards I went and talked to her parents who
- 18:20Speaker 1: were there, and her mum, Jenny, is a CrossFit trainer
- 18:23Speaker 1: up in Port mcquarie, and she said that she doesn't
- 18:26Speaker 1: think they would ever have discovered the cancer or they
- 18:28Speaker 1: might not have discovered it in time had she not
- 18:31Speaker 1: been doing CrossFit, because she did got some knee pain
- 18:34Speaker 1: and they went and got a scan and then went, yeah,
- 18:36Speaker 1: that's not right.
- 18:36Speaker 2: We want to deal with that.
- 18:37Speaker 1: So yeah, so you know, the cult is not just
- 18:40Speaker 1: good for your health and fitness.
- 18:42Speaker 2: It's it's good for other stuff too. But she was amazing,
- 18:45Speaker 2: and the Kids Cancer Project obviously does some great work
- 18:47Speaker 2: there and that's a long term partnership for SWIFTS and
- 18:50Speaker 2: Kids Cancer Project. We have that damn Crazy Hair and
- 18:54Speaker 2: Sock Day every year that I find out about several
- 18:57Speaker 2: days in vance, but I will tell everyone it is
- 18:59Speaker 2: the twenty seventh of June. So if you have children
- 19:02Speaker 2: playing junior netball in New South Wales, prepare for Crazy
- 19:05Speaker 2: Hair and Socc Day on the twenty seventh of June,
- 19:07Speaker 2: rather than finding out as I usually do on the
- 19:10Speaker 2: twenty sixth of June and shouting at everyone. So well
- 19:12Speaker 2: they just wear the same thing every year. Yeah it's
- 19:14Speaker 2: all you've got.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, well you're back.
- 19:18Speaker 2: We should probably just take a little break and then
- 19:20Speaker 2: I know we've been talking about netball, but let's have
- 19:22Speaker 2: a proper netball chat.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Are you sick. Catherine a child.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Oh, I was so brutal with him yesterday and the
- 19:40Speaker 2: day before, I don't come near me. I was spraying
- 19:44Speaker 2: her with Glenn twenty. I just don't. I cannot get
- 19:47Speaker 2: sick before tomorrow. And then last night like coming the cut.
- 19:51Speaker 2: I don't care now I get sick this week.
- 19:53Speaker 3: I've got a few days now.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I love doing.
- 19:55Speaker 3: You spray your kid with Glenn twenty. Can we put.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Your child with Glen twenty? Yep? The plume.
- 20:05Speaker 1: We do have Harper with us today because she's not
- 20:07Speaker 1: well enough to go to school. And she walked out
- 20:09Speaker 1: to talk to us and it's raining outside, and what
- 20:12Speaker 1: did she have on her feet?
- 20:13Speaker 2: Socks? Socks and then she just went on my socks
- 20:16Speaker 2: aware Yeah, yeah, yeah, that'll happened when the grounds were
- 20:19Speaker 2: I remember an episode of Happy Days back from the
- 20:22Speaker 2: eighties and Phonsie was talking about his parents and the
- 20:24Speaker 2: only piece of advice he ever got from his dad
- 20:27Speaker 2: was don't go out in the rain in your socks.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Wasn't that an army thing as well? Just keep your
- 20:31Speaker 2: feet dry, keep your feet like in World War One,
- 20:35Speaker 2: that's sort of foot rot. But yeah, Toda, his father
- 20:41Speaker 2: may have been able to do a better job than that,
- 20:42Speaker 2: but that's still good advice.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Yeah. Do you know.
- 20:45Speaker 4: I tried to explain Phonsie and Happy Days to my
- 20:47Speaker 4: kids recently because I said something about cool little Fonzies
- 20:52Speaker 4: and I was quoting, Oh god, what's that movie pulp Fiction?
- 20:57Speaker 4: Let's all be cool little Fonzi Yeah, And I was like, yeah, Phonsie,
- 21:02Speaker 4: and I explained it to them, and they just I
- 21:05Speaker 4: just looked at me like I was an idiot.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Did you show them?
- 21:08Speaker 4: No, I haven't shown them yet. I actually need to
- 21:10Speaker 4: show them, But I do worry. I think there's a
- 21:13Speaker 4: real concern that if you start showing your kids things
- 21:15Speaker 4: from your childhood, they're going to just go, that's the
- 21:17Speaker 4: stupidest thing I've ever seen, and makes you question your childhood.
- 21:21Speaker 2: So them that you recommended and then decided I'm not
- 21:24Speaker 2: not recommending the outside.
- 21:26Speaker 1: That was a question in the Good Weekend Quiz this weekend.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I was very annoyed that I didn't get it.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Oh what was the question?
- 21:32Speaker 2: Then?
- 21:33Speaker 3: Oh?
- 21:33Speaker 1: Something about which book written by this person has something
- 21:38Speaker 1: about gold And I just like, how could I not
- 21:40Speaker 1: get stay gold pony? How could you get with it?
- 21:43Speaker 1: I was very tired last night.
- 21:44Speaker 2: We did the quiz over dinner last night because the
- 21:46Speaker 2: children hate that, but we quite like it. And then
- 21:49Speaker 2: sometimes once they're into it, they'll they'll contribute. Yeah, do
- 21:51Speaker 2: they contribute. They'll be some random ones. Yeah. So Lewis's
- 21:55Speaker 2: is strangely very good at like Greek and Roman mythology.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Yeah, well, has he read the Percy Jackson books? Yeah?
- 22:04Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that makes them good at Greek because I
- 22:07Speaker 4: couldn't figure out why both my kids suddenly knew about
- 22:09Speaker 4: Greek and Roman mythology. And then I realized, is oh,
- 22:12Speaker 4: not reading Percy Jackson makes a difference.
- 22:15Speaker 3: I thought that were gifted. Turns out they can just read.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Daddy's very good.
- 22:20Speaker 1: At pop culture and mod and current music. I'm very
- 22:23Speaker 1: good at eighties and nineties music. But we'll talk about
- 22:27Speaker 1: that later. But there was some netball that happened on
- 22:29Speaker 1: the weekend. Therefore fantastic games.
- 22:33Speaker 2: You know it's a good weekend of netball when twice
- 22:36Speaker 2: you have to put up the extra time stuff on
- 22:38Speaker 2: the screen because it looks like that's where it's heading.
- 22:41Speaker 1: So what would you have done in the Giants Vixen's
- 22:46Speaker 1: game if it had been over time and then we
- 22:48Speaker 1: had the other games hot on the heels of it.
- 22:50Speaker 2: What would have happened, Well, it's not ever. It won't
- 22:53Speaker 2: ever go that long, right, So they've still got time
- 22:57Speaker 2: because they'd be warming up about the back or something
- 22:59Speaker 2: rather than and they just come out and start the
- 23:01Speaker 2: game a bit later. But it's an extra five minutes
- 23:04Speaker 2: each way. And then if it's still drawn, it ends
- 23:07Speaker 2: on a draw in the rounds. Yeah, yeah, okay, because
- 23:09Speaker 2: we have the possibilities.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I was just panicking a little bit then, because we
- 23:12Speaker 1: have the possibility in the tipping comp this year that
- 23:14Speaker 1: if you correctly tip a drawer that you get two points,
- 23:17Speaker 1: so it's a very valuable thing. Then I was thinking,
- 23:20Speaker 1: maybe we don't have drawers in sun Corps SuperM we.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Actually doing the rounds, but only after extra time. Ye okay, yeah,
- 23:28Speaker 2: so good. But that first game, oh my god, cracking,
- 23:32Speaker 2: cracking Queensland Derby. Yeah, I didn't see that coming. No,
- 23:36Speaker 2: Lightning had won the previous seven over the five Birds
- 23:41Speaker 2: and five Birds last week. They had every opportunity to
- 23:45Speaker 2: beat the Vixen's. They did, they were in it. They
- 23:47Speaker 2: just made stupid mistakes or whatever else. And they again
- 23:51Speaker 2: in the same place, and in this competition, you can't
- 23:54Speaker 2: lose two games at the start of the season. It's
- 23:57Speaker 2: tough because everyone else is getting points. Yeah, yeah, so
- 24:01Speaker 2: that might come back to me.
- 24:02Speaker 1: But I thought it was interesting and I think this
- 24:04Speaker 1: is some of the things that we've talked about in
- 24:06Speaker 1: past weeks, Like you know, the Victions are very mature
- 24:09Speaker 1: team like that, they're sort of average age, is a
- 24:11Speaker 1: little bit older than say the Giants, but they've also
- 24:13Speaker 1: been together for a long time. They know how to
- 24:15Speaker 1: close out again, don't they. And I think that was
- 24:18Speaker 1: sort of what we saw a bit with the MAVs
- 24:19Speaker 1: yesterday and the Firebirds, is that they came up against
- 24:23Speaker 1: more established lineups who knew how to close it out.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Do you know what?
- 24:27Speaker 2: Though, I was worried about the Swift's ability to close
- 24:30Speaker 2: it out because they haven't won a close game.
- 24:32Speaker 1: I'm so angry with the Swifts. It was like there
- 24:34Speaker 1: was so much brilliance in there, and it's like every
- 24:37Speaker 1: time someone does something spectacular to get the ball off
- 24:40Speaker 1: the MAVs, then the next person or the one after
- 24:43Speaker 1: that goes, oh, we should probably give it back.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Now. We've had a lot of people shared the love.
- 24:47Speaker 2: No sharing of the love, but they don't forget. They
- 24:50Speaker 2: lost six of the last eight at the end of
- 24:52Speaker 2: the season and then they lost Round one, so they
- 24:55Speaker 2: had not had a win a distant wins and I
- 24:57Speaker 2: was worried about them. Yeah, I thought they might have
- 24:59Speaker 2: forgotten how to yep. Yeah, put that to bed.
- 25:02Speaker 1: That was so exciting. That was such a great end
- 25:05Speaker 1: to the game.
- 25:05Speaker 2: What about the Thunderbirds though, I'm sorry that no one
- 25:09Speaker 2: will touch them, no one. I reckon that even the
- 25:12Speaker 2: Vixens are going to really challenge them, sorry, struggle when
- 25:16Speaker 2: they get to them. I don't know when that is.
- 25:17Speaker 2: I'll have to look it up on the schedule. But
- 25:21Speaker 2: not only did they set a scoring record last week
- 25:23Speaker 2: and three of them then general play turnovers, they set
- 25:27Speaker 2: a record there this week, the most ever, sorry, the
- 25:31Speaker 2: least ever in a game was eight four minutes left
- 25:34Speaker 2: to go in the whole game. They had made four
- 25:36Speaker 2: errors in a whole game and net ball that's mental.
- 25:40Speaker 2: They ended up with seven, which was still a new record,
- 25:43Speaker 2: but that is unbelievably good and clinical when you're up
- 25:47Speaker 2: against a side that's a strong defensively as a West
- 25:50Speaker 2: Coast fever.
- 25:50Speaker 4: Yeah, so Vixen's Plaith Underbirds in Round six, which will
- 25:54Speaker 4: be really interesting, right, So there's a few to go.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Is that in Melbourne or it is in Melbourne, yeah, April.
- 26:03Speaker 2: So I don't get this that the Dixs need to
- 26:05Speaker 2: play at home as much as some of the other
- 26:07Speaker 2: teams do, like the Vixens can play anywhere comfortably, so
- 26:10Speaker 2: I think, but there's a number of teams and Tea
- 26:12Speaker 2: Birds might be one where playing at home is a
- 26:15Speaker 2: massive advantage for them, or they've had two games at home.
- 26:19Speaker 4: Yeah, so, Catherine, I agree that Thunderbirds are looking unbelievable,
- 26:23Speaker 4: But this time last year we were saying the same
- 26:25Speaker 4: about the Swifts because they had an unbelievable first half
- 26:29Speaker 4: to the season. It looked like no one could touch
- 26:32Speaker 4: Grace Noiki, and then second half every I went, oh,
- 26:35Speaker 4: this is what we do and they sort of felt.
- 26:39Speaker 4: But you know, I think for the Thunderbirds, they are
- 26:42Speaker 4: a team that's they've got plenty of Grand Final winners.
- 26:45Speaker 4: They know exactly what they're doing, so they're super experienced.
- 26:48Speaker 4: But I think you've got to sort of allow that
- 26:50Speaker 4: the first half of the year with you know, a
- 26:53Speaker 4: new shooter who's just an absolute superstar, teams will take
- 26:56Speaker 4: a little while to work her out, So yeah, I
- 26:59Speaker 4: don't know. I don't know that they'll be untouched all year.
- 27:02Speaker 4: I just want to see how they sort of, you know,
- 27:04Speaker 4: progress through these first first rounds. I mean, having said
- 27:06Speaker 4: that Shmira Stelling's only going to get better and better
- 27:09Speaker 4: every game, it was a bit ominous that I saw
- 27:11Speaker 4: her somewhere saying this week that she still hasn't got
- 27:13Speaker 4: a hops back yet, and I was like, I would
- 27:15Speaker 4: have taken eleven deflections.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, So quite game for her by her standards.
- 27:22Speaker 2: It is.
- 27:23Speaker 4: So yeah, I don't know, like I agree with I
- 27:24Speaker 4: think they're just they are looking amazing, and you know,
- 27:28Speaker 4: the side of a great team is a team that
- 27:30Speaker 4: just does not turn the ball over. So it's ominous,
- 27:32Speaker 4: but it's a long season.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree with you. But I think the difference
- 27:37Speaker 2: between the Swifts and the Teabirds is that the Swifts
- 27:41Speaker 2: don't have the defensive capabilities that the Teabirds do, so
- 27:44Speaker 2: even if they stop scoring, they are going to stranglehold
- 27:48Speaker 2: anyone else from scoring. I mean, like, I think that's
- 27:50Speaker 2: the real difference between the two sides. I can't see
- 27:53Speaker 2: the wheels falling off for them, but you're right, it's
- 27:56Speaker 2: a long time to go.
- 27:58Speaker 4: It is a long season and oh my gosh, but
- 28:02Speaker 4: super exciting right for international netball to think that we've
- 28:05Speaker 4: got the Commonwealth Games at the end of this year
- 28:07Speaker 4: and all of the top teams are going to have
- 28:10Speaker 4: players who are really hardened through Super Netball.
- 28:15Speaker 3: I just think it's so good.
- 28:17Speaker 4: Like South Africa really need that hardened post up goal
- 28:21Speaker 4: shooter and now they're going to have it.
- 28:24Speaker 1: You interviewed Stacy yesterday. She's sort of saying that the
- 28:28Speaker 1: the twelve for the Commonwealth Games will be decided after
- 28:32Speaker 1: the Super Netle season, so they're all playing for their
- 28:36Speaker 1: position there.
- 28:37Speaker 2: They are, but there's still room to move in this squad.
- 28:40Speaker 2: So I didn't I didn't actually realize that because I
- 28:42Speaker 2: thought they had picked their squad through I thought to
- 28:44Speaker 2: handmade changes. So she's watching every game like a hawk,
- 28:49Speaker 2: as any good Australian coach would be doing. I mean,
- 28:52Speaker 2: if you look at the current team, you think, where
- 28:53Speaker 2: are you going to put someone else? It's so as
- 28:55Speaker 2: it stands, but there's still room to move there. So
- 28:58Speaker 2: she said, literally the day after the Grand Final the
- 29:01Speaker 2: team will be announced and then maybe two days later
- 29:03Speaker 2: she's going to get a hands on them because there's
- 29:05Speaker 2: such limited amount of time before they then get on
- 29:07Speaker 2: a plane over crazy Hey.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Well, so there may be some members of a losing
- 29:13Speaker 1: Grand Final team who the next day have their moods
- 29:16Speaker 1: lifted significantly right throughout. Oh, well, that's very interesting. I
- 29:21Speaker 1: was sitting in front of the National Selectors yesterday because
- 29:24Speaker 1: I went and sat with Julie Fitzgerald's family. We had
- 29:26Speaker 1: a lovely there was a lovely little ceremony for jewels
- 29:28Speaker 1: in the quarter time of the Giants game, and she
- 29:31Speaker 1: had two of her kids there and a bunch of grandchildren.
- 29:34Speaker 1: And then I was sitting at the end of the
- 29:35Speaker 1: row and I was sitting next to Julie's daughter, and
- 29:37Speaker 1: then Julie her daughter in law and son on the
- 29:40Speaker 1: other side, and then the little kids are up in
- 29:41Speaker 1: the middle. And then about halfway through that game, Julie said,
- 29:44Speaker 1: we have to swap the kids because the kids are
- 29:46Speaker 1: sitting right in front of the National Selector and like,
- 29:48Speaker 1: these are kids, they're really well behaved, but like they're
- 29:51Speaker 1: five six years old, so they're up down, up, down
- 29:53Speaker 1: whatever else. So so Julie said, come and sit with
- 29:56Speaker 1: us here, and I said, no, I'll stay on the
- 29:57Speaker 1: end because I've got her head back. So I was
- 29:58Speaker 1: just hanging with the fifth Stell grandchildren for the whole
- 30:01Speaker 1: the whole time.
- 30:02Speaker 2: They're they're buddy great those they're brilliant, but they've got
- 30:04Speaker 2: opinions about netble too, so putting them in front of
- 30:07Speaker 2: the selectors could have been a good thing. But yeah,
- 30:13Speaker 2: I thought I felt for the Firebirds.
- 30:15Speaker 1: I thought, man, that was I didn't see that coming,
- 30:17Speaker 1: particularly with Maddie Gordon out. I thought they were going
- 30:20Speaker 1: to be convincingly beaten by the Lightning.
- 30:23Speaker 2: I think the Lightning.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Would probably be looking at themselves a bit this week
- 30:26Speaker 1: and going right, well, we need to do better than that,
- 30:27Speaker 1: particularly when we're at home.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Well, they still didn't have Gabby Sinclair. She was on
- 30:31Speaker 2: the list and then the last minute she was out
- 30:33Speaker 2: and Tipper Dworn was in. They didn't play Tipper at all.
- 30:35Speaker 2: She's the only one that didn't get caught time. So
- 30:37Speaker 2: again you've got Walloman Carakna and it's not really a
- 30:40Speaker 2: goalt attack having to play a full game out there.
- 30:42Speaker 2: So I mean again, they're going to get better. Yeah,
- 30:45Speaker 2: but you know, then someone else will get injured, right,
- 30:47Speaker 2: There's always there's always something happening, So you know, there's
- 30:51Speaker 2: very few weeks that any squad's going to have their
- 30:54Speaker 2: entire squad and be able to go.
- 30:56Speaker 1: We don't need to plan around anything different this time.
- 30:59Speaker 2: So, but the mothers. Emily Mannix was back.
- 31:02Speaker 3: That was great. I thought she did a terrific job.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Our whole coverage. So at the end of the Swifts game,
- 31:07Speaker 2: it was the one fifty celebration for Maddie Proud and
- 31:09Speaker 2: Lily was on the floor and we saw m Mannix
- 31:12Speaker 2: in the tunnel with her baby, Mabel, and then we
- 31:14Speaker 2: saw Jane Watson in the press conference holding her daughter.
- 31:17Speaker 2: The whole thing was just surrounded by these incredible mums
- 31:20Speaker 2: that had their kids with them at work. Yeah, it
- 31:23Speaker 2: was unreal. We actually put that to Stacy Marenkovich and
- 31:25Speaker 2: she said, how great it is as a sport that
- 31:28Speaker 2: we're in a position now that we can support our
- 31:30Speaker 2: athletes to be mums need to come back and play
- 31:33Speaker 2: hass al though, since that's what I was thinking. Maddie
- 31:37Speaker 2: Proud at the end of that game and she was
- 31:39Speaker 2: on the ground a lot. Oh had to pick up
- 31:41Speaker 2: a kid and go home with it. Oh, that's a lot.
- 31:44Speaker 1: There was a lot more people taking spills in the
- 31:47Speaker 1: two games I watched live, and it's just I think
- 31:50Speaker 1: it just goes to show the intensity and the quality
- 31:53Speaker 1: of the game, the improvement. And I guess that's in
- 31:55Speaker 1: large part due to the Internationals, although we didn't see
- 31:59Speaker 1: as many in sitting here at the Double headed that
- 32:01Speaker 1: those four teams are not flooded with the Internationals, so
- 32:05Speaker 1: some of the others have. But it's just you know,
- 32:08Speaker 1: the Jamaicans, the New Zealanders, our one South African. Did
- 32:12Speaker 1: someone tell me there's a player from Uruguay? I can't
- 32:14Speaker 1: work out who they knows.
- 32:16Speaker 2: Your Ganda though, Mary Cholof, Yeah, no, no, I don't know.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Someone said that to me in passing and I thought,
- 32:23Speaker 1: oh I should know that.
- 32:24Speaker 2: But was that the lady that had had a few
- 32:25Speaker 2: at the pre Dame motions? You got missed out with something.
- 32:29Speaker 3: So it is Castle.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Let me tell you a little bit about tipping this week.
- 32:33Speaker 1: We have an outright leader at the moment, so Eryl,
- 32:36Speaker 1: I would give everything just to be like him. Errol
- 32:38Speaker 1: has moved into outright first place. Erol is actually female, Kylie.
- 32:42Speaker 2: What did Eryl do that was so great that like,
- 32:44Speaker 2: got everything.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Right, did give bonus points, did not pick the margin,
- 32:48Speaker 1: I don't think, but got the perfect round with the
- 32:51Speaker 1: bonus point. Yeah, So so has moved into eleven points
- 32:55Speaker 1: there and the two people Errol shared first place with
- 32:58Speaker 1: last week have moved significantly down the ladder lot. Last
- 33:01Speaker 1: week's number one is now sitting in forty eighth place.
- 33:04Speaker 2: So brutally big changes.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Big changes for you too, Blondie. I'll get to that
- 33:09Speaker 1: in a second. Our weekly winner is Shay Hellier, so
- 33:13Speaker 1: close packed. So yeah, two people got six points this
- 33:18Speaker 1: year this week, so that's you pick a perfect round,
- 33:20Speaker 1: you get the bonus point, and you get the margin.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Three hundred and sixty six people got five points, including yours, truly,
- 33:29Speaker 1: so you are no longer leading the hosts and heroes
- 33:33Speaker 1: tipping comp. Lisa bad the Balata and her daughter they
- 33:37Speaker 1: are They're sitting in one hundred and third. You have
- 33:39Speaker 1: dropped to one hundred and seventieth place overall, as long
- 33:43Speaker 1: as I'm still in front of you, you're way in
- 33:45Speaker 1: front of me, but I'm in front of God now. Yes,
- 33:49Speaker 1: So in order we have got the bascinator coming first.
- 33:54Speaker 1: This is in the host of Heroes group, then you,
- 33:56Speaker 1: then Alexa Prino, who is your Nettie bestie. Keiley dev
- 34:00Speaker 1: has made an extraordinary move up the ladder and now
- 34:02Speaker 1: sits in fourth place, having been in six or seventh
- 34:05Speaker 1: last week. The Nettie Nome is sitting in three hundred
- 34:08Speaker 1: and sixtieth place. Last week, I was in six hundred something,
- 34:11Speaker 1: Daryl the stats Man, Milton four hundred and thirty, fifth,
- 34:14Speaker 1: g Train five hundred and ninety seven and the meat
- 34:17Speaker 1: tray didn't put tips in this way, so just give
- 34:21Speaker 1: it the hard game sitting in seven hundredth So for
- 34:27Speaker 1: me to give a report on the Golden Turkey, because
- 34:29Speaker 1: I have to go through everyone and check that they
- 34:32Speaker 1: have put tips in and not just got the default.
- 34:34Speaker 2: So I won't be giving a weekly update on that.
- 34:38Speaker 2: But Nikki Komway Buckley still maintained a strong position near
- 34:44Speaker 2: the bottom of the ladder.
- 34:45Speaker 1: We've got Melroso, who was last year's Golden Turkey, is
- 34:47Speaker 1: back joining the cop oh.
- 34:49Speaker 2: She she succumbed to the pressure.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Yeah, she can't win the Golden Turkey though, because she
- 34:53Speaker 1: missed the first round of tips. But you know, I'm
- 34:55Speaker 1: sure that we'll be able to make some type of
- 34:57Speaker 1: elaborate virtual ceremony where she presents the new trophy.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Okay, well there might be some more of these netty
- 35:03Speaker 2: nomes at funnings can we can grab.
- 35:06Speaker 1: So yeah, So still time to join the tip and
- 35:08Speaker 1: comp If you want, go to info at no don't
- 35:11Speaker 1: do that, go to No dribble dot com dot AU.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Now.
- 35:15Speaker 1: I did talk last week about the Swift's thirtieth anniversary
- 35:17Speaker 1: dinner on the tenth of April. So starting this week,
- 35:21Speaker 1: which is the this Friday, will be the twenty seventh
- 35:24Speaker 1: of March, We're going to run a short shot sharp
- 35:28Speaker 1: competition to join me on the table at the dinner
- 35:31Speaker 1: that night, for the thirty Swiss thirtieth anniversary dinner. It
- 35:35Speaker 1: will go just over the weekends, so it's going to
- 35:36Speaker 1: start on the Friday or go through to Monday. It
- 35:38Speaker 1: will be via our Instagram account, which is no Dot
- 35:42Speaker 1: dribble dot Official, So you'll need to be followed, you'll
- 35:45Speaker 1: need to be following our Instagram account, and you'll need
- 35:48Speaker 1: to hashtag something. But we'll tell you what that is
- 35:51Speaker 1: via social media, so get around that.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Again.
- 35:55Speaker 1: There's no flights, there's no accommodation, there's no taxi vouchers.
- 35:58Speaker 1: There's just come and have with me.
- 36:00Speaker 2: So you really need to be in Sydney unless you're
- 36:02Speaker 2: prepared to pay for your own So we don't know
- 36:04Speaker 2: how we win this prize until the weekend. That's correct
- 36:07Speaker 2: that it's not going to be hard. It's just going
- 36:10Speaker 2: to be something on our Instagram page that you'll have
- 36:13Speaker 2: to have a certain hash. I don't know.
- 36:15Speaker 1: You know, you've got to hashtag this and follow that
- 36:18Speaker 1: and blah blah blah. We'll work out the mechanism.
- 36:20Speaker 2: I've been busy. Let me alone. It's fine. Hey, I
- 36:23Speaker 2: want to talk music. Do you can we do that?
- 36:25Speaker 2: Can we do that after the break? Before I do that?
- 36:28Speaker 2: Liz BACKPID membership now, yes.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Yes it is. I'm going to let you talk about
- 36:36Speaker 4: it because you've done all the research.
- 36:38Speaker 3: I know it well, yeah and I did.
- 36:40Speaker 1: I was sitting with the Netball Australian people, yes, sir,
- 36:42Speaker 1: So this is exciting. So there is a little membership
- 36:45Speaker 1: category that we can join. So this is a really
- 36:47Speaker 1: kind of I don't know when they're going to ever
- 36:49Speaker 1: get this opportunity again to try to get netball in
- 36:51Speaker 1: the Olympics, Like this is a real moment that we
- 36:54Speaker 1: have to get behind there.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Now.
- 36:55Speaker 1: I'm sure everybody has gone to back the bid and
- 36:57Speaker 1: sign the pledge, but there's now an opportun unity to
- 37:01Speaker 1: buy a little membership and they're kind of virtual memberships,
- 37:03Speaker 1: but this allows you to make a contribution to the
- 37:06Speaker 1: cause to allow nep All Australia to really amplify the
- 37:09Speaker 1: campaigning here. So they're back the bid. Memberships they started
- 37:13Speaker 1: like ten bucks and you get it's a ten dollars
- 37:16Speaker 1: support a pledge. For that, you'll get things like a
- 37:18Speaker 1: digital membership, your name on the Olympic Pledge Wall, exclusive
- 37:22Speaker 1: bid content, early access windows, and a recognition item like
- 37:26Speaker 1: a bumper stick or something like that. And there are
- 37:28Speaker 1: various stages of membership depending on how much you feel
- 37:31Speaker 1: like you can contribute to this. But I really would
- 37:33Speaker 1: say that this is an extraordinary opportunity for us. You know,
- 37:38Speaker 1: we are the strongest country in the world at this sport.
- 37:42Speaker 1: We are having a home Olympics. Last time we had
- 37:44Speaker 1: a home Olympics is now twenty six years ago. You know,
- 37:47Speaker 1: after twenty thirty two, don't know when we're going to
- 37:49Speaker 1: get it again, but we don't want to be waiting
- 37:51Speaker 1: another thirty two years after this. We've really got to
- 37:53Speaker 1: grab this moment and that means we need a lot
- 37:56Speaker 1: of people behind this and unfortunately the reality of doing
- 38:00Speaker 1: this type of campaigning is that money is required. So please,
- 38:03Speaker 1: if you can buy one of these back the Bid memberships,
- 38:08Speaker 1: get behind Netball Australia. Let's try to get our game.
- 38:10Speaker 1: We know, we know it should be in the Olympics
- 38:13Speaker 1: and this is our real moment and let's just have
- 38:16Speaker 1: to think about you know, when the Matilda's were playing
- 38:18Speaker 1: in the World Cup and it was here in Australia,
- 38:21Speaker 1: what that meant for the awareness of football in Australia.
- 38:26Speaker 1: And you know, imagine if we could do that to netball,
- 38:29Speaker 1: what a game changer it would be.
- 38:30Speaker 2: So keep an eye out for those I will give
- 38:32Speaker 2: you one hundred bucks if you throw in a pass
- 38:34Speaker 2: to the dining hall so I can go and have
- 38:36Speaker 2: a little Mickey Moss. What does that mean? I add
- 38:45Speaker 2: the athletes? Now, Olympic dining hall is the place to be,
- 38:49Speaker 2: isn't it with your binoculars? I don't know.
- 38:52Speaker 1: I don't know, but I'm pretty sure one hundred dollars
- 38:56Speaker 1: to the campaign is not going to be enough to
- 38:58Speaker 1: have that type of but you're a commentator, get yourself
- 39:02Speaker 1: an Olympic commentary, please, dribblers, for the love of God,
- 39:05Speaker 1: let's get Catherine commentating a netball at the twenty thirty
- 39:10Speaker 1: two Olympics. So she has a pass so she can
- 39:13Speaker 1: go to the athlete's dining hall and be a perfey
- 39:17Speaker 1: old woman.
- 39:18Speaker 3: Because I will be old by then too.
- 39:19Speaker 2: It's okay, it's not sounding.
- 39:21Speaker 4: Sod, maybe not, but how about we just getting them
- 39:23Speaker 4: ball into the Olympics first?
- 39:25Speaker 3: So yeah, let these things.
- 39:27Speaker 4: These things cost money, and we raise a little bit
- 39:29Speaker 4: of money or a good whack of money early, just privately,
- 39:32Speaker 4: but now we just want to be able to finish off,
- 39:35Speaker 4: finish off the whole campaign and make sure that we're there.
- 39:38Speaker 4: We put our best foot forward. So yeah, I think
- 39:41Speaker 4: that's a really good initiative. So hopefully lots of people join.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, comes fine, you got to finish strongly.
- 39:48Speaker 3: Absolutely, it's fine. A quarter.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Yeah, let's take a little break and then you can
- 39:55Speaker 2: talk music with us, Catherine, how are yeah.
- 40:09Speaker 4: Right?
- 40:10Speaker 2: I was at the gym the other day and listening
- 40:13Speaker 2: to my tunes and one came on and without thinking
- 40:16Speaker 2: too much, I started singing out loud. Oh yeah, but
- 40:20Speaker 2: it got me thinking that, you know, there's just some
- 40:22Speaker 2: you have to sing out loud, and so I want
- 40:26Speaker 2: to know what yours are. Should I play your mind?
- 40:28Speaker 2: I think you'll be horribly disturbed by this. There must
- 40:31Speaker 2: have been my prime back in this era because it
- 40:35Speaker 2: really resonated with me. It's a little scary. I'm kind
- 40:37Speaker 2: of embarrassed to play it already, but I'm going to
- 40:40Speaker 2: do it for you ready. No need to be a
- 40:52Speaker 2: life's kind of emotion, Gus, it comes naturally. Oh that's funny, too,
- 41:01Speaker 2: strong hand Jon fun And why the hell.
- 41:05Speaker 1: That's so funny? Because you sent this around to us.
- 41:08Speaker 1: This is the hardest thing you have ever asked me
- 41:12Speaker 1: to do, Catherine, because basically, any song I know makes
- 41:17Speaker 1: me want to sing.
- 41:18Speaker 2: So it's like, what is the is so one of
- 41:20Speaker 2: them behind one of them?
- 41:21Speaker 3: That I heard?
- 41:22Speaker 1: Because I've been listening to gold FM because the podcast
- 41:25Speaker 1: being advertised on there at the moment with the iHeart Network,
- 41:28Speaker 1: and so I've been waiting to hear our ads, and
- 41:30Speaker 1: so I've been hearing a lot of music that I
- 41:32Speaker 1: want to sing along too. Because let's just remember, I've
- 41:35Speaker 1: never claimed to be cool, but I had a huge
- 41:39Speaker 1: long list and the other day I heard John Farnham's
- 41:43Speaker 1: pressure Down.
- 41:45Speaker 2: That's a classic. But let me play your This is
- 41:48Speaker 2: I'm deeply embarrassed about. But it can't be worse than
- 41:52Speaker 2: line it is.
- 41:54Speaker 3: It is.
- 41:54Speaker 1: It's like my I've made a playlist that is so
- 41:57Speaker 1: bad because it was like, I really need to narrow
- 41:59Speaker 1: this down.
- 42:00Speaker 2: So let's let's go with pump it up, pump it up,
- 42:03Speaker 2: hump it up. Let's get it nice and loud. Where Okay,
- 42:05Speaker 2: it's only a past mark. If we all start singing,
- 42:08Speaker 2: I'm ready to go, Oh Gloria, is it? Please?
- 42:20Speaker 1: Nobody enough?
- 42:26Speaker 2: We are.
- 42:32Speaker 3: Just proving while we all played metall.
- 42:34Speaker 2: I don't know the words, otherwise I would You don't
- 42:37Speaker 2: have to just have to what lock me? We are
- 42:42Speaker 2: in said a. Millions are shining.
- 42:50Speaker 1: Like, oh wow, if that's all over mine, I'm trying
- 42:59Speaker 1: to turn it off everyone.
- 43:00Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Yeah, press bade, yeah, there you go. Alright, Elizabeth,
- 43:06Speaker 2: the pressure is now on. Please don't send us.
- 43:09Speaker 3: The pressure is on.
- 43:11Speaker 2: Please don'ts back another decade. Just deper semi moderon. Here
- 43:16Speaker 2: we go. Oh yeah, banger changing selfish girl and.
- 43:37Speaker 4: She's lashing eyes.
- 43:40Speaker 2: Good okay, because I love this song more than anything
- 43:45Speaker 2: in the world. But I've got no clue what they're saying.
- 43:50Speaker 2: I want you to tell me if you if you
- 43:53Speaker 2: know what it firstly is called, and then what they
- 43:56Speaker 2: like the chorusy bit is Okay, you'll know this song.
- 43:59Speaker 2: It's a It's a song curate curiatelaison down the road
- 44:07Speaker 2: that I must travel.
- 44:08Speaker 3: I must travel. So what are they saying?
- 44:14Speaker 2: Curi curi a laison down the road that I must travel?
- 44:18Speaker 2: I don't know. Now do you know what that is?
- 44:20Speaker 2: That means? Because I didn't know what the first two
- 44:25Speaker 2: words were. Like after that you can pick it up.
- 44:27Speaker 2: So Curi a laison is Lord have Mercy in English?
- 44:32Speaker 3: And what in English?
- 44:33Speaker 2: Be sure it's in English? No like to translates. Lord
- 44:39Speaker 2: have Mercy in English? And is it great?
- 44:41Speaker 3: Okay?
- 44:42Speaker 2: If I'm getting word about what the hell it was?
- 44:47Speaker 2: I don't think it is in English. I did very
- 44:50Speaker 2: well in high school English, and I don't think that
- 44:52Speaker 2: is it. Lord Have Mercy doesn't have the same ring
- 44:55Speaker 2: to mister.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Mister mister seriously though, how cool artist?
- 45:00Speaker 2: But there were I had a number of others that
- 45:02Speaker 2: I could have picked and I think I just let's
- 45:04Speaker 2: finish with this one because I think it's a little
- 45:06Speaker 2: bit more modern. It's it's let's be clear, it's still
- 45:09Speaker 2: not cool, but I think it's more zeitgeisty. So and
- 45:13Speaker 2: you will, yeah you are ma fa the one. Come on, Liz,
- 45:35Speaker 2: I can't hear you where see Ah we're missing out
- 45:45Speaker 2: on Actually that was so good, real job, I think
- 45:48Speaker 2: so too. What everyone be calling the record companies as
- 45:51Speaker 2: we speak.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Well, I'm just very impressed Catherine that you've been willing
- 45:56Speaker 1: to sing, because I remember you were once starting a
- 45:59Speaker 1: professional patsy to sing this.
- 46:01Speaker 2: Oh god, no, not just before a netflik go.
- 46:04Speaker 3: We can sing that.
- 46:06Speaker 2: No one can sing it, No one sounds good singing it.
- 46:09Speaker 3: It's true. Do you remember do you remember?
- 46:13Speaker 4: Do you remember being in South Africa and Jeanne Nilich
- 46:15Speaker 4: sang it before a test match because they didn't have
- 46:18Speaker 4: anything planned and they just asked if one of our
- 46:20Speaker 4: players could sing it, and all of us sort of
- 46:23Speaker 4: stopped making eye contact, and then Janina was like, I'll
- 46:25Speaker 4: do it, and she had a great boss, so she
- 46:27Speaker 4: did it beautifully. And then she went on to staf
- 46:29Speaker 4: for Australia, which is quite the double act.
- 46:31Speaker 3: Yeah it is.
- 46:32Speaker 2: I think I have PTSD from that moment. I love
- 46:35Speaker 2: my shoes the time.
- 46:37Speaker 1: What could they possibly do to make you less ready
- 46:40Speaker 1: to take the call and deliver your best? It's make
- 46:43Speaker 1: you feel incredibly awkward about something like Awkwardness is such
- 46:47Speaker 1: a it's such a difficult feeling.
- 46:49Speaker 2: To overcome, isn't it. We set it up though, like
- 46:51Speaker 2: so she was the lead singer and we were in
- 46:53Speaker 2: an arc behind her, like the backup singers. You know,
- 46:56Speaker 2: we didn't do a shoe That's right. It was definitely
- 46:58Speaker 2: you know that sort of vibe going on. I would
- 47:00Speaker 2: have loved that. Oh that's so funny. I think we
- 47:04Speaker 2: should put this to.
- 47:05Speaker 1: The dribblers, puts let it on the Facebook page. What
- 47:08Speaker 1: are the songs that when they come on you just
- 47:11Speaker 1: cannot help but sing?
- 47:13Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 47:13Speaker 2: What's the song? You know what?
- 47:14Speaker 1: I can't hell every time if you're at an event
- 47:17Speaker 1: or something and you want people on the dance floor,
- 47:19Speaker 1: one thing that nobody can resist is mister Brightside.
- 47:23Speaker 3: It's so it's such a great song. Do you know
- 47:26Speaker 3: what song? I love to sing?
- 47:28Speaker 4: But I have like you know, you think your voice
- 47:30Speaker 4: is good, but if you turn the radio off music down,
- 47:34Speaker 4: you go, oh, this is not good.
- 47:35Speaker 3: Yeah, take on me.
- 47:38Speaker 4: Do you know when he hits that high that high note,
- 47:40Speaker 4: I always think I'm killing it, and then I realize
- 47:43Speaker 4: that I'm not.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Mine is man in the mirror like I think I
- 47:47Speaker 2: have got that shit sorted out, like I'm exactly the
- 47:52Speaker 2: same as Michael, And then in the radio stops, Oh
- 47:55Speaker 2: that's not good. That's can pretty much nail all of
- 47:57Speaker 2: Pat Benattar's back catalog. A bit of Love in the Battlefield,
- 48:01Speaker 2: got a very smoker's voice there.
- 48:05Speaker 1: I did that I Will Always Love You, the Whitney
- 48:08Speaker 1: Houston song I great one lip sync too, Oh yeah.
- 48:11Speaker 1: And I was in a supermarket in Wellington in New
- 48:13Speaker 1: Zealand with my son when he was about ten or eleven,
- 48:18Speaker 1: and you know, they're just they're just starting to get
- 48:21Speaker 1: awkward at that age. They're just wishing that you would
- 48:23Speaker 1: act differently, but they're not full on like my daughter now,
- 48:25Speaker 1: who's about to turn thirteen. There's a very narrow band
- 48:28Speaker 1: of behavior that Peter and I can engage in where
- 48:31Speaker 1: we get her approval and the rest of the time
- 48:33Speaker 1: it's a gross disappointment. But I was with him in
- 48:36Speaker 1: the supermarket.
- 48:37Speaker 2: There was no one in the aisle and this song
- 48:39Speaker 2: came up and you know how there's that pause in it, Yes,
- 48:42Speaker 2: and then she hits it back hard with that massive
- 48:45Speaker 2: note and I was lip syncing and I nailed it.
- 48:48Speaker 2: And I turned to.
- 48:49Speaker 1: Lewis and said, did you see that? And this guy
- 48:52Speaker 1: came up behind me and said, I.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Saw it and it was magnificent. Oh, light God, did
- 48:58Speaker 2: you pick up a prop have a milk bottle for
- 49:00Speaker 2: a microphone or something? Oh?
- 49:01Speaker 3: You should have should have had it?
- 49:03Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I was committed. Come on, well, you're not
- 49:06Speaker 2: dead yet, you can re enact the road.
- 49:09Speaker 1: So that was in New World Supermarket in downtown Wellington
- 49:12Speaker 1: work one of the greatest experiences.
- 49:14Speaker 2: In the now. Have a photo of her face on
- 49:16Speaker 2: the wall mark I net fall on the weekend that
- 49:20Speaker 2: I need to wrap up.
- 49:21Speaker 1: No, you can't go and have been hanging on Liz.
- 49:24Speaker 1: Have you got the drawer there in front of you?
- 49:26Speaker 1: All of my devices?
- 49:27Speaker 2: Melbourne double Headed a start, It's.
- 49:28Speaker 1: A Melbourne double head, Melbourne Derby Melbourne.
- 49:32Speaker 2: Oh So, Vixen's Mavericks.
- 49:34Speaker 3: Okay, Vixen's MAVs.
- 49:36Speaker 4: Lightning Swifts ye at the Sunshine Coast five Birds, Thunderbirds
- 49:41Speaker 4: in this arena in Brisbane and Fever Giants at rac
- 49:44Speaker 4: Arena in Perth.
- 49:46Speaker 1: So Catherine shouting from the bathroom everyone, which is fabulous.
- 49:52Speaker 1: That is in Queensland for two games, so there must
- 49:54Speaker 1: be some up there. Yes, the Lightning Swifts game is
- 49:57Speaker 1: up there and I think the Lightning will probably take that,
- 50:00Speaker 1: and the Firebirds are hosting the Thunderbirds.
- 50:04Speaker 2: I suspect the Thunderbirds will will take that.
- 50:07Speaker 4: You go, and then Catherine's acoustics will hopefully be better
- 50:11Speaker 4: on the weekend than they are at the moment while
- 50:12Speaker 4: she's beaming into you from the toilet. Hey, c yes,
- 50:15Speaker 4: well while Catherine's away, I will play now. I have
- 50:20Speaker 4: been diligently working away at trying to get this pod
- 50:23Speaker 4: to be the only pod that talks about netball and
- 50:26Speaker 4: camping in the Venn diagram. I want this podcast to
- 50:29Speaker 4: be the to be the one that overlaps both things.
- 50:32Speaker 3: And I think that's how a.
- 50:34Speaker 2: Usp as they say in the marketing, very nice unique
- 50:38Speaker 2: selling point. Okay, so this is from Catrin, will come
- 50:42Speaker 2: back soon. I feel like you're ambushing me with something
- 50:45Speaker 2: when while you're not out numbered.
- 50:48Speaker 3: Bushing you so we got this email from a longtime dribbler,
- 50:51Speaker 3: Emma maca High.
- 50:53Speaker 4: Ladies love the pod. I happen to be in the
- 50:55Speaker 4: very niche group. I don't know that it's niche, Emma.
- 50:56Speaker 4: I think it's wider than we think. A group of
- 50:58Speaker 4: people thrilled to have stumbled on a podcast located in
- 51:01Speaker 4: the middle of the unlikely ven diagram of netball and
- 51:04Speaker 4: caravanning and camping. However short which it may be there now.
- 51:07Speaker 4: My husband and I chose to buy a caravan instead
- 51:10Speaker 4: of further renovating our little shack of a house four
- 51:12Speaker 4: years ago when our third and youngest child was a newborn,
- 51:16Speaker 4: and we have zero regrets despite friends questioning our sanity.
- 51:19Speaker 3: It's right, Emma. My friends questioned my sanity as well,
- 51:22Speaker 3: in a very puntic ways. I'm pretty sure it's to
- 51:26Speaker 3: my face. To be honest, I have questioned it myself
- 51:28Speaker 3: at times.
- 51:28Speaker 4: Don't ever admit that. Don't show weakness, Emma. Traveling with
- 51:31Speaker 4: three young kids in a little box.
- 51:33Speaker 3: On wheels, what could go wrong? Apparently a lot.
- 51:35Speaker 4: However, the wonderful memories we have gained have far outweighed
- 51:38Speaker 4: the challenges that inevitably come up. I have given my
- 51:41Speaker 4: fair share of awkward nods in passing to fellow Pooh
- 51:43Speaker 4: carriers in caravan parks, each on our individual walks of
- 51:47Speaker 4: shame to and from the dump, and my family's urine
- 51:50Speaker 4: has been closer to my face than it ever should be.
- 51:53Speaker 4: We are now living out of our caravan and shed
- 51:55Speaker 4: as our house goes on the market, and we could
- 51:57Speaker 4: not be more thankful to have a nice, cozy caravan
- 51:59Speaker 4: to sleep in so we don't have to spend our
- 52:01Speaker 4: nights in the shed wondering if a spider, mouse or
- 52:04Speaker 4: rat is going to crawl over our faces. Rip, van Chat,
- 52:07Speaker 4: I say, keep up the great work. See it's not
- 52:10Speaker 4: just like you two.
- 52:12Speaker 3: I don't get to be the arbiter's it can't be over. No,
- 52:15Speaker 3: it's not over.
- 52:16Speaker 2: We're just not encouraging it.
- 52:18Speaker 3: I have friends who.
- 52:19Speaker 1: Vanila came up to me yesterday at the game and
- 52:22Speaker 1: she chipped at me a bit about that too, because
- 52:24Speaker 1: she's another one of your kind. And she said, what
- 52:28Speaker 1: we don't understand is this kind of three o'clock cocktail hour.
- 52:31Speaker 1: And so I understand that I understand the three I
- 52:34Speaker 1: think I understand a cocktail pretty well. A cocktail hour
- 52:37Speaker 1: pretty well, and there's nothing.
- 52:39Speaker 2: Wrong with a bar at a five star hotel. It's
- 52:42Speaker 2: not as friendly, okay, not as maybe, I'll give you that.
- 52:46Speaker 1: But Liz, that's nice that you've got some friends in
- 52:50Speaker 1: this space, and we will acknowledge that. I didn't think
- 52:55Speaker 1: that we would get a blood of letters supporting you.
- 53:00Speaker 2: And we're right. That's not a flood of flood.
- 53:04Speaker 3: It's a flood. There's two of us, it's a flood.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Emma, good on you. And Nila is also joining you too.
- 53:09Speaker 1: She's another fan. I'm sure there are other other fans around.
- 53:13Speaker 1: So we won't do and ask the goat this weekend
- 53:15Speaker 1: because the goat's given us a lecture about caravans and camping.
- 53:18Speaker 1: So but if you want to send the Goat a question,
- 53:20Speaker 1: preferably about something other than caravans.
- 53:22Speaker 4: And slease get them all coming caravanning and camping. I
- 53:26Speaker 4: am a super show. You are a super show.
- 53:28Speaker 1: F info at nodribble dot com dot au. Anyone got
- 53:32Speaker 1: a quick no dribble recommends this week?
- 53:35Speaker 3: Yes?
- 53:35Speaker 2: Oh oh, okay, you go I did have one, but
- 53:38Speaker 2: mone can wait.
- 53:39Speaker 3: Okay.
- 53:40Speaker 4: So the other thing that I do love is a
- 53:42Speaker 4: bit of cooking as Catherine knows because she's done a
- 53:44Speaker 4: bit of eating of my cooking.
- 53:46Speaker 2: And can I say I got for my birthday a skillet?
- 53:50Speaker 2: You know?
- 53:50Speaker 3: Is it just do you call them skillets?
- 53:51Speaker 2: You know?
- 53:52Speaker 4: With it's a like a round pan with handles and
- 53:54Speaker 4: a lid that you can put on top and stick
- 53:56Speaker 4: it in the oven. It has revolutionized everything. If you
- 53:59Speaker 4: don't have one of them, get yourself on of them.
- 54:00Speaker 4: It's fantastic.
- 54:01Speaker 2: Why what are you putting in that that you wouldn't
- 54:03Speaker 2: have put elsewhere?
- 54:04Speaker 4: Well, there's lots of things that if you can use
- 54:06Speaker 4: it to brown, like the chicken or the meat or whatever,
- 54:09Speaker 4: and then you put everything else in and still use
- 54:12Speaker 4: the meat juices, and then you put in the oven
- 54:14Speaker 4: and you don't have to transfer things from the fry
- 54:16Speaker 4: pan into something else into a Yeah, it has revolutionized stuff.
- 54:22Speaker 2: Sounds like a step too far.
- 54:23Speaker 1: A few years ago we replaced our saucepans with ones
- 54:27Speaker 1: with removable handles so they click on off, so all
- 54:31Speaker 1: of our saucepans can go into the oven. And also
- 54:34Speaker 1: the kitchen draw where the saucepans are kept is no
- 54:38Speaker 1: longer as Yeah, yeah, very secure.
- 54:44Speaker 3: Can I take this back to caravan and camping for
- 54:46Speaker 3: a moment. You can buy camping.
- 54:48Speaker 4: Saucepans that are square so they fit in your caravan
- 54:51Speaker 4: or your camping area better, because round saucemans are stupid
- 54:54Speaker 4: for storage.
- 54:54Speaker 3: You're a square shut up.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Look on that note, it's going to descend into that.
- 55:03Speaker 1: But no Dooble recommends that you get some stuff that
- 55:06Speaker 1: you can put from your cook top straight to the oven.
- 55:10Speaker 1: This is about as good as a recommendation about the outside.
- 55:14Speaker 2: What is it? Oh? I know, I was watching this
- 55:16Speaker 2: show on Netflix called lion s Oh so good. What's
- 55:20Speaker 2: it about? So it's like the CIA FBI kind of
- 55:24Speaker 2: the people that don't we don't think exist. You go
- 55:28Speaker 2: and do all these missions places, very very cool.
- 55:31Speaker 1: You know a few years ago I thought all of
- 55:33Speaker 1: that stuff here it's quite far fetch great for a story.
- 55:35Speaker 1: But now it's there's nothing. I don't believe anymore.
- 55:38Speaker 3: So yeah, sure, if you will.
- 55:40Speaker 1: Probably is run by lizard aliens with lasers.
- 55:43Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 55:44Speaker 3: You can only hope. That's the only reason we've got
- 55:46Speaker 3: to this point. There's lizards.
- 55:49Speaker 2: Because of the lizards. Ah well, they're welcome if they
- 55:51Speaker 2: can make good coffee.
- 55:52Speaker 1: On a cheerier note, we have another round. We have
- 55:55Speaker 1: round three coming up for us. I don't want to
- 55:57Speaker 1: upset anyone. We are one seventh of the way through
- 55:59Speaker 1: the red Ular season. So if the regular season was
- 56:01Speaker 1: a week we finished Monday, we're on Tuesday, so very
- 56:04Speaker 1: soon it's going to be Sunday afternoon and we will
- 56:06Speaker 1: be looking back at an extraordinary season. So make sure
- 56:10Speaker 1: you suck the life out of every opportunity.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Of sun Corps Super Netball, because what is the world's
- 56:14Speaker 2: best netball comp is just even better this year. I
- 56:17Speaker 2: can't believe it is. And I'm doing both Queensland games
- 56:19Speaker 2: this weekend very much. So you told us from your
- 56:22Speaker 2: pants down? Oh okay, do it now?
- 56:24Speaker 3: All right, that's not the first time I've heard that.
- 56:27Speaker 1: All right, dribblers, have a great week On Carolyn Swindell
- 56:30Speaker 1: Hathcocks Spy.
- 56:32Speaker 2: Why we just got through that whole episode with no
- 56:41Speaker 2: tech issues? I yes, how many ey know? We ninety
- 56:46Speaker 2: eight eight straps people? Yeah, yeah, we've turned it. We've
- 56:51Speaker 2: managed to turn the tech ship around.
- 56:54Speaker 3: It's exciting, it is very exciting.
- 56:55Speaker 2: Well done.
- 56:56Speaker 3: It's all downhill from here, though, I don't think.
- 56:58Speaker 2: Anyone said fuck either, Oh my god, fuck it.
- 57:07Speaker 3: On that note, bye,
