- 0:06Speaker 1: Is there a romantic gesture that you, or maybe your
- 0:10Speaker 1: wife or your hobby does for you that other people
- 0:13Speaker 1: might find strange? Seven o one two eight zero one
- 0:17Speaker 1: nine eight seven Troy, what about you, man?
- 0:20Speaker 2: My wife and I we call each other negative nicknames
- 0:23Speaker 2: like stupid and cherch, but we're not being mean to
- 0:26Speaker 2: each other. It started out as a joke and then
- 0:28Speaker 2: it just kind of stuck and we just kept doing it.
- 0:30Speaker 3: That is my little idiot, Yeah, my little dove.
- 0:34Speaker 4: That is actually pretty funny there.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I think that's pretty common actually, where couples pick at
- 0:38Speaker 1: each other. But it's like a we've been together for
- 0:41Speaker 1: a long time, we're flatting now, this is how we flirt.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I like that, Angie John. It's so sad, this romantic
- 0:48Speaker 1: gesture right here for your boy. This will lead to
- 0:52Speaker 1: that vava voom time at the glints. Oh goshva voom
- 0:57Speaker 1: time means scry knaps while I watch the wild game.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Okay, that's fair, all right.
- 1:03Speaker 1: At our house, I have discovered a little life hack. Okay,
- 1:07Speaker 1: when your boy cleans the cat litter boxes, I'm hubby
- 1:14Speaker 1: of the year, Hubby of the decade that day. That's
- 1:17Speaker 1: something so real, pathetic as just cleaning out the litter
- 1:21Speaker 1: box now.
- 1:21Speaker 2: But that's so real. I understand because you guys have
- 1:24Speaker 2: four thousand.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Cats, right exactly.
- 1:28Speaker 3: That means a lot.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Okay, So you do that and then she gets the
- 1:31Speaker 2: hard eyes for you.
- 1:32Speaker 4: That's right.
- 1:33Speaker 1: That's my little life hack for any dude out there.
- 1:35Speaker 1: If you know, if your wife's coming home and you're
- 1:38Speaker 1: home already and you're thinking, oh, man, I wonder what
- 1:39Speaker 1: I'm in trouble for today, do you know what you do?
- 1:42Speaker 1: Wait right before she's gonna walk in the door and
- 1:45Speaker 1: start doing the dishes, or grab the vacuum, do anything
- 1:49Speaker 1: for cleaning around the house. There's no way she walks
- 1:51Speaker 1: in the door and starts yelling at you while you're
- 1:53Speaker 1: doing some type of cleaning. There's your life hack.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Fellas Gabe really helped y'all out all right, Rebecca?
- 1:59Speaker 4: Do you have kind of a US romantic gesture?
- 2:02Speaker 5: We write one line updates in a shared journal, you know,
- 2:05Speaker 5: nothing poetic, just stuff like a burned out today or
- 2:09Speaker 5: good mood call me later. It helps us keep pace.
- 2:12Speaker 4: That's very cute.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I actually I think that is very romantic.
- 2:17Speaker 2: And Mike and I have a shared journal where we
- 2:20Speaker 2: do the same thing. But the thing that I think
- 2:23Speaker 2: is actually very romantic that everybody is like, okay, girl,
- 2:28Speaker 2: is when he fills my water bottle. There's something about
- 2:32Speaker 2: filling my water bottle that I hate it.
- 2:35Speaker 3: I will die of thirst before I feel it myself.
- 2:38Speaker 3: I just hate it. And if I get home and.
- 2:42Speaker 2: He's filling the water bottle, I'm like, we are gonna
- 2:45Speaker 2: take this to the bedroom, sir, I can hydrate.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I think it's wonderful. Another life hack for you, fellas.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I just thought of this right now. It turns out
- 2:55Speaker 1: we're all either married or dating the exact same woman.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Okay, here's what you do.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Grab like six water bottles, all right, and then just
- 3:03Speaker 1: scatter them around your house.
- 3:05Speaker 4: That way, there always is one.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Within reaching distance of said wife or girlfriend.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I never thought I would say this, Gabe, but you're
- 3:14Speaker 3: actually brilliant.
- 3:19Speaker 5: Celebrating life's little victories. Every morning. We practice gratitude on
- 3:24Speaker 5: Big ninety eight point seven.
- 3:25Speaker 4: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 3:28Speaker 4: blasting job. Bust it out whenever someone's acting hard.
- 3:31Speaker 5: Share your little victories with us at seven oh one,
- 3:34Speaker 5: two oh one ninety eight seven kids.
- 3:37Speaker 4: I also needed to win that day.
- 3:40Speaker 1: There is nothing better than starting the day off on
- 3:43Speaker 1: a positive note. Whether you go on to have a
- 3:46Speaker 1: horrid day the rest of the day, at least there's
- 3:49Speaker 1: gonna be a nice moment, a nice five ten minutes
- 3:53Speaker 1: of you know what, you can look back on the
- 3:54Speaker 1: day and go and that wasn't too bad of a day. Here,
- 3:56Speaker 1: we share little victories every day with you, and you
- 4:00Speaker 1: have started to share them with us, which we love
- 4:02Speaker 1: to see.
- 4:02Speaker 4: I give Mary a big shout out this morning.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Mary said, I haven't stopped to get a coffee before
- 4:07Speaker 1: work in a long time. I've been drinking the sludge
- 4:10Speaker 1: in the breakroom, but this morning I decided to stop
- 4:14Speaker 1: in my favorite coffee spot and get the days started
- 4:16Speaker 1: on the right foot.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Way to go.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Mary, Sometimes, Mary, sometimes you just got to get that
- 4:20Speaker 1: iced mocha latte, you know.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Yeah, nothing like a good cup of joke.
- 4:24Speaker 4: That's right, all right, Angie. Do you have a little
- 4:26Speaker 4: victory today? Okay?
- 4:27Speaker 3: Mine is a food related a little bit.
- 4:29Speaker 4: It's sad how often they are, because mine is too.
- 4:31Speaker 3: I think the food is so good.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I had been craving Rhombus Guy's pizza for gosh, I
- 4:38Speaker 2: want to say, like three or four days now, and
- 4:40Speaker 2: then finally yesterday, right as we were leaving work, I
- 4:44Speaker 2: put in an order for Rahmbus Guy's pizza and I
- 4:46Speaker 2: picked it up and I scorfed it down as soon
- 4:49Speaker 2: as I got home, and I felt so much joy
- 4:52Speaker 2: in my heart. I did get jalapenos, which is always
- 4:55Speaker 2: a mistake because now at my big age of thirty eight,
- 4:58Speaker 2: my little tummy can't handle it. But guess what, it
- 5:02Speaker 2: was worth it and I don't care. Oh so great.
- 5:05Speaker 4: I'm happy for you.
- 5:06Speaker 1: It is interesting how satisfying food can be and how
- 5:10Speaker 1: you can look back on the day and be like, well,
- 5:12Speaker 1: you know what, at least I had some dope pizza.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Yeah, you know what I'm saying. What about you, Gabe,
- 5:17Speaker 4: what's your little bit?
- 5:18Speaker 1: I have a different little victory today, not food related.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I think I was going to go that route, but
- 5:22Speaker 1: you had food, So I'll switch it up for us
- 5:24Speaker 1: this morning.
- 5:25Speaker 4: My mind today.
- 5:26Speaker 1: For the past like four three four weeks, I've kind
- 5:31Speaker 1: of switched up my sweet little puppies walk routine, okay,
- 5:36Speaker 1: and so her and I have been going for walks
- 5:38Speaker 1: almost every day at like six pm. Now, that is
- 5:42Speaker 1: not the victory of itself. The little victory part is,
- 5:45Speaker 1: of course, you know, we got to keep little Nony
- 5:47Speaker 1: safe on these walks.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Noney has this new collar that when we put it
- 5:51Speaker 1: on her, you can turn this like light on. It
- 5:54Speaker 1: basically lights up and you can change the colors of it.
- 5:57Speaker 1: There's like pink, orange, red, green, blue, and I have
- 6:01Speaker 1: been rotating through those for like two weeks and we
- 6:05Speaker 1: finally have made it through.
- 6:06Speaker 4: All the colors.
- 6:07Speaker 1: So we got to keep we gotta start back at
- 6:09Speaker 1: square one. So it's been a lot of fun taking
- 6:12Speaker 1: her for night time walks, which is kind of just different.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Usually I get home and take her for a walk.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Now I'm getting home and we play fetch in the backyard.
- 6:19Speaker 1: It gets her a little more physically tired, oh okay,
- 6:21Speaker 1: as opposed to mentally tired.
- 6:23Speaker 4: You know, I don't think like a walk she really
- 6:25Speaker 4: like at the end. It's not like she's like, oh
- 6:27Speaker 4: my god, it's a water but not me.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Yeah right, But you know, it lets her sniff around,
- 6:34Speaker 1: and it's just it's been a lot of fun just
- 6:36Speaker 1: doing these kind of late night walks with her, and
- 6:38Speaker 1: mostly I just like her lneup colors.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I want to catch you guys on the walk.
- 6:41Speaker 2: I need to see, like what the color of the evening?
- 6:44Speaker 4: That's right.
- 6:45Speaker 1: If you ever have a little victory once again, don't forget.
- 6:47Speaker 1: You can always share them with us. At seven oh
- 6:49Speaker 1: one two eight zero one nine eight seven. Now there
- 6:53Speaker 1: is an actor who maybe you never would have thought
- 6:56Speaker 1: could have potentially become James after Sean Connery. All right,
- 7:02Speaker 1: we'll talk about this in the tea coming up very
- 7:04Speaker 1: shortly here on Big ninety eight point seven Rocket.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I want to be a roquette man, roquette comma. Yes,
- 7:16Speaker 2: how this started was gosh, I want to say. It
- 7:19Speaker 2: was a couple of weeks ago. Now, I saw the
- 7:21Speaker 2: Rockettes performing on the Today Show in the Plaza and
- 7:25Speaker 2: I was watching them and I thought, you know what
- 7:27Speaker 2: I could do that? Yeah, I think I could do
- 7:29Speaker 2: that with a little bit of practice, I could high kick.
- 7:32Speaker 3: And do a little routine.
- 7:34Speaker 2: And so Gabe challenged me, all right, put your money
- 7:37Speaker 2: where your mouth.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Is, get dumb broad I'm just kidding. He didn't say
- 7:40Speaker 3: that much.
- 7:41Speaker 4: Your money where your mouth is rocket.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Yeah, there we go.
- 7:44Speaker 2: And so now he gave me a month to put
- 7:48Speaker 2: together a roquette like routine.
- 7:51Speaker 3: And perform it.
- 7:52Speaker 2: So on December eighth, the expectation is for me to
- 7:57Speaker 2: have a roquette dance routine that I can perform satisfactorily.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Clearly I didn't think the challenge through, but thankfully, Yeah.
- 8:07Speaker 4: You've got a little bit of a cheat code here.
- 8:09Speaker 4: You got kind of a hack. Oh I do.
- 8:11Speaker 2: We posted this to the Big ninety eight points I'm
- 8:13Speaker 2: on Facebook page and Amanda of Bass Dance Studios reached
- 8:19Speaker 2: out and said, me and our dance team can help
- 8:23Speaker 2: you put together this routine.
- 8:26Speaker 3: And thank god, because I had no idea how I
- 8:29Speaker 3: was going to do it.
- 8:29Speaker 2: So the update is, Gabe, I'm going to have unofficial
- 8:35Speaker 2: Rocketts lesson the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
- 8:39Speaker 4: Yeah you.
- 8:40Speaker 1: I went into this thinking, oh, yeah, Angie, A is
- 8:44Speaker 1: going to have to learn how to do some of
- 8:45Speaker 1: these moves and then be put together. What are we
- 8:48Speaker 1: going to make you do like a minute's worth of
- 8:50Speaker 1: a performance or yeah, I figure that out, But yeah,
- 8:52Speaker 1: I just think at all, so A, she's gonna have
- 8:54Speaker 1: to learn how to do these moves, and then B
- 8:56Speaker 1: choreographed something by herself, right, and she swindled me by
- 9:00Speaker 1: getting professional help exactly right, Gabe.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Now, the only concern is that the Tuesday after Thanksgiving
- 9:07Speaker 2: is December second, and I have to perform on December eighth,
- 9:11Speaker 2: So can I learn enough in this session to put
- 9:15Speaker 2: something together? May the odds be ever in my face?
- 9:19Speaker 1: Right, Angie? Can you let us know what right now?
- 9:23Speaker 1: And the answer might be nothing? What are you doing
- 9:25Speaker 1: right now to prep and prepare and get ready for
- 9:28Speaker 1: your rockhet performance?
- 9:30Speaker 2: Every morning before I head out to work, I do
- 9:35Speaker 2: lunges and stretches to at least try and make it
- 9:38Speaker 2: so I can kick pretty high. Okay, Now, as to
- 9:42Speaker 2: whether that's been working, I don't want to talk about
- 9:45Speaker 2: right now, Gabe, but I think by December eighth, with
- 9:48Speaker 2: Amanda and Base the dance studios help, I will have
- 9:52Speaker 2: something I can post to the big ninety eight point
- 9:55Speaker 2: seven Facebook page that is some semblance of a performance.
- 10:00Speaker 4: I'm looking forward. It's going to be great.
- 10:01Speaker 1: And you know what, we didn't set any rules on
- 10:04Speaker 1: getting help. I'm glad someone reached out because you didn't ask.
- 10:07Speaker 1: I can't hate on you for that. You didn't message exactly, Hey,
- 10:10Speaker 1: please someone help me do this. Someone reached out to you,
- 10:12Speaker 1: So I think that's great and and I am and
- 10:16Speaker 1: I know someone right now listening to the radio in
- 10:18Speaker 1: their car is going you know, I'm looking forward to
- 10:20Speaker 1: this performance from Angie as well.
- 10:22Speaker 2: At the very least, if it's terrible, it'll give you
- 10:26Speaker 2: a good laugh.
- 10:29Speaker 5: In the world of rules in gray areas, one morning
- 10:31Speaker 5: show dares to ask the hard questions.
- 10:34Speaker 4: We both know you're guilty. He's guilty. Is it legal?
- 10:37Speaker 5: You're guilty of the worst crime of all on Big
- 10:41Speaker 5: ninety eight point seven.
- 10:45Speaker 1: All right, this is kind of a PSA for North
- 10:47Speaker 1: Dakota night drivers. And this could happen if you're on
- 10:52Speaker 1: you know, certain parts of University. I see this, or
- 10:55Speaker 1: in South Fargo, I see this just because there's just less.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Stuff I've seen it.
- 11:00Speaker 2: And honestly, I've been here for seven months. I have
- 11:05Speaker 2: not driven at night until after daylight saving ended, because
- 11:10Speaker 2: then it got darker and I realized, oh, I've never
- 11:13Speaker 2: been out on these streets at night.
- 11:15Speaker 3: How wild. But I have seen the high beams.
- 11:18Speaker 4: That's right.
- 11:19Speaker 1: And if you think you can use your high beams
- 11:22Speaker 1: as like a communication tool, all right, I'm letting you
- 11:25Speaker 1: know right now you cannot. If you're trying to warn
- 11:28Speaker 1: other cars, like, hey, there's cops you know, ten blocks
- 11:32Speaker 1: ahead or whatever. Or maybe someone has their brights on
- 11:35Speaker 1: and you try to flash ears to let them know
- 11:37Speaker 1: to turn them off. While it might feel good, if
- 11:39Speaker 1: you're caught, I hate to break it to you, that
- 11:42Speaker 1: would be illegal. It's illegal to flash your high beams
- 11:45Speaker 1: at oncoming cars within five one hundred feet, which, if
- 11:49Speaker 1: we're being honest, is roughly the distance from your driveway
- 11:54Speaker 1: to the one neighbor's house that you don't like. Okay, basically,
- 11:57Speaker 1: just don't flash anybody with the high beams. And I
- 12:00Speaker 1: know some people might say, well, how am I supposed
- 12:02Speaker 1: to warn someone about a speed trap?
- 12:04Speaker 4: And that's very easy.
- 12:06Speaker 1: You don't, Okay, you just sit there silently like a
- 12:09Speaker 1: good law abiding North Dakota and you kind of let
- 12:12Speaker 1: people learn the hard way.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Okay, So it's illegal to flash your high beams. Can
- 12:17Speaker 2: I flash my I'm just kidding.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Remember save the flashing for your holiday Christmas lights on
- 12:25Speaker 1: the outside of the house. Or maybe you're questionable vegas
- 12:29Speaker 1: vacations barely Angie would do Okay, heat the headlights at
- 12:33Speaker 1: a normal, regular usage unless you're by yourself driving, maybe
- 12:38Speaker 1: you're in a rural dark area, you can turn the
- 12:39Speaker 1: high beams on and do not use them as a
- 12:42Speaker 1: communication tool. Now, if you have kiddos who go to school,
- 12:48Speaker 1: come home and you ask them what they learn today,
- 12:51Speaker 1: you know you always get the nothing, nothing, or it
- 12:55Speaker 1: was boring. I've got a little hack for you here
- 12:58Speaker 1: on questions you could ask your kids that would maybe
- 13:02Speaker 1: give them more of a chance to let you learn
- 13:05Speaker 1: a little bit a bit about their day, about their life,
- 13:07Speaker 1: or how they think in certain situations.
- 13:10Speaker 3: It's because it is hard.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I will say, I have been that parent that just says,
- 13:15Speaker 2: what did you learn today? Nothing? The other day, actually,
- 13:18Speaker 2: I said what did you learn today? And you have
- 13:21Speaker 2: to come up with one thing or we can't move on.
- 13:23Speaker 4: For the day.
- 13:24Speaker 3: And I feel like that was aggressive on my part.
- 13:26Speaker 2: They found something to tell me, But I need a
- 13:29Speaker 2: different approach.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Yeah, well, you could try questions like this. I have
- 13:33Speaker 1: four of them for you, Angie or you if you're
- 13:36Speaker 1: listening right now and have kiddos so you'd like to
- 13:38Speaker 1: talk to once in a while. Question number one, who
- 13:43Speaker 1: got in trouble today? Okay, there's always someone and it
- 13:47Speaker 1: might give you a little insight onto what they think
- 13:50Speaker 1: about rules.
- 13:51Speaker 3: That is genius.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Who got in trouble? On the next one, did anything
- 13:57Speaker 1: funny happen? Okay, it shows you a little bit of
- 14:00Speaker 1: their humor. What do they think is funny at this
- 14:02Speaker 1: point in their life? Yeah? What did they say? What
- 14:05Speaker 1: made it funny? You could also ask for your third
- 14:08Speaker 1: one here, what was the school lunch today? I don't
- 14:11Speaker 1: know what it is about the Big ninety eight point
- 14:13Speaker 1: seven morning show, but goodness do we talk about food
- 14:15Speaker 1: a lot.
- 14:16Speaker 2: We love it. It's the way to our hearts. Apparently,
- 14:19Speaker 2: that's right.
- 14:20Speaker 1: And then finally you could try what made you mad today?
- 14:25Speaker 1: This can give you a little insight to your kiddo's soul,
- 14:28Speaker 1: maybe a chance to learn about what makes them upset,
- 14:32Speaker 1: why it makes them upset, how they feel when they're upset.
- 14:35Speaker 1: So these questions have so many different ins and outs
- 14:38Speaker 1: and answers to that.
- 14:39Speaker 2: These there really good questions. Can you go ahead and
- 14:43Speaker 2: forward these to me in an email?
- 14:44Speaker 1: Right?
- 14:45Speaker 2: The one that works in our house most of the
- 14:48Speaker 2: time is what was your your peach?
- 14:51Speaker 3: And what was your pit?
- 14:52Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 14:52Speaker 3: So what madeor da peachy? And what was the pit?
- 14:54Speaker 1: That's right, those questions one more time, you could do
- 14:57Speaker 1: a peach or pit? Who got in trouble today? Did
- 15:00Speaker 1: anything funny? Happen today, What was the school lunch? And
- 15:04Speaker 1: what made you mad today? Those are sure fireways to
- 15:07Speaker 1: hopefully get your little one talking.
- 15:09Speaker 3: I'm gonna report back tomorrow.
- 15:11Speaker 2: I'm gonna ask them and I will have them report back.
- 15:14Speaker 1: All right, we'll have We'll see the proof in the pudding.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Yes tomorrow. On Big ninety eight point seven, I.
- 15:22Speaker 4: Need some good.
- 15:24Speaker 5: Starting off the day with something good. This is Gabe's
- 15:28Speaker 5: good news on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Christmas lights are popping up in your neighborhood across the
- 15:37Speaker 1: region as well. Thanks in part well to you for
- 15:39Speaker 1: hanging those bad boys or dad or whoever, but also
- 15:43Speaker 1: thanks in part to this man named Patrick Egan. He's
- 15:47Speaker 1: a mobile mechanic by day, and he spends each holiday
- 15:52Speaker 1: season installing Christmas light displays for people who may need help.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Since October tenth, he believes he's put up about five
- 16:00Speaker 1: thousand feet worth of lights at around fifty homes, and
- 16:05Speaker 1: Patrick says the lights bright in the darkest time of
- 16:07Speaker 1: the year and boost community spirit for you do it
- 16:11Speaker 1: yourself light experts. Okay, he does recommend hanging lights early,
- 16:15Speaker 1: using good clips, knowing where your power source is, and
- 16:18Speaker 1: of course prioritizing roof safety or giving him a call
- 16:23Speaker 1: to help you out with that. I think this is
- 16:25Speaker 1: really cool. By day, you know, he's a mobile mechanic.
- 16:27Speaker 1: By night, he's a light hanging gouru, just to make
- 16:31Speaker 1: communities nicer. And this is all across kind of the
- 16:33Speaker 1: region here in the Midwest, a spreader of cheer. I
- 16:37Speaker 1: love that.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:38Speaker 1: I remember growing up my dad, well really, this is
