- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm Tom Dopka, and as much as I want to
- 0:03Speaker 1: give Phil Henry advice on a kind of a radio show,
- 0:06Speaker 1: in a podcast what he should do, he doesn't take
- 0:09Speaker 1: my advice anymore. He's all, you know, thinks he's big time,
- 0:13Speaker 1: and so he just tells me to go pound it.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Sitting in the car, have a sandwich. You know, it's
- 0:19Speaker 1: about one hundred and ten degrees. He tells you to
- 0:21Speaker 1: sit in the backseat and spank it. Can you imagine
- 0:23Speaker 1: that there was a time when I could get him fired.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I could just say, hey, Henry, you did you do
- 0:28Speaker 1: the weather? No, mister Dopka, you're fired. I could do that.
- 0:31Speaker 1: But anyway, as a way of paying him back, I
- 0:34Speaker 1: will promote his website and hopefully he'll give me a
- 0:38Speaker 1: piece of that, because I'm trying to angle my way

- 1:23Speaker 1: I got a business to run. Okay, it's okay, Hell,
- 1:28Speaker 1: This is Don Burman on The Burman and Tonight by
- 1:32Speaker 1: very special guest will be Tom Dokk radio consultants. As
- 1:35Speaker 1: we talk about Brandon in the twenty first century, and
- 1:39Speaker 1: then I were going to be talking specifically about one
- 1:41Speaker 1: particular brand which has been messed with and was changed
- 1:45Speaker 1: up and everything. Don gives it far better. I'm not
- 1:49Speaker 1: a professional announcer. I'm a radio consultant. I've consulted some
- 1:52Speaker 1: of the greatest radio shows that would have ever been.
- 1:55Speaker 1: I consulted mister Henry Show until we did not have
- 1:58Speaker 1: no business dealings no more. I'm sorry. Any business it's
- 2:02Speaker 1: something Oh you know if any business dealings, no more,
- 2:05Speaker 1: and you stopped consulting Field show at his request. It
- 2:09Speaker 1: was a mutual, you know. I told him, I said
- 2:12Speaker 1: to him, you got to do what I tell you
- 2:14Speaker 1: to do. And he said, I'm not going to do
- 2:16Speaker 1: what you tell me to do no more. And I said, well,
- 2:18Speaker 1: I'm gonna get you fired. And you were not able
- 2:20Speaker 1: to get him fired? No, I was not. That was
- 2:22Speaker 1: the first time. I was not. Every other time I
- 2:24Speaker 1: was able to get him fired because he would say
- 2:26Speaker 1: I would say to him, you know, you you should
- 2:29Speaker 1: have given the weather there, and then you should have said,
- 2:31Speaker 1: and now here's Glenn Campbell with the Sunny Side Up.
- 2:35Speaker 1: I don't know what the name of the song was,
- 2:37Speaker 1: Sunny Side Look, I don't know. But and every time
- 2:40Speaker 1: I told him to do that, he would do it.
- 2:42Speaker 1: And you know, you're talking about give the name of
- 2:45Speaker 1: the record, not just a Glenn Campbell record, No, no, yeah,
- 2:48Speaker 1: anything it could be, you know, And I'd say I
- 2:50Speaker 1: could do the weather and now saying now here's Hamilton
- 2:52Speaker 1: Joe Franken Reynolds. Uh huh. Well, so anyway, he stopped
- 2:58Speaker 1: doing it. Yeah, he stopped doing what I told him
- 3:01Speaker 1: to do. When he started making funny voices and stuff,
- 3:03Speaker 1: and so, I you know, I said, well, I'm going
- 3:07Speaker 1: to get you fired. But I wasn't able to get
- 3:08Speaker 1: him fired. Okay, but since then, you've worked with a
- 3:11Speaker 1: lot of shows and you're still sort of in business
- 3:13Speaker 1: with Don David G Hall. And yeah, I'm in David G. Hall.
- 3:18Speaker 1: He's a consultant. I'm a consultant. So we consult each other.
- 3:22Speaker 1: I don't know, what do you mean you consult each other. Well,
- 3:25Speaker 1: he's a consultant and I'm a consultant. So what do
- 3:27Speaker 1: you think we do? Well, you consult. Yeah, So I
- 3:30Speaker 1: call him up and I tell him, hey, here's what
- 3:32Speaker 1: I think you and he says, well, here's what I
- 3:33Speaker 1: think you should do. It's kind of stupid. I mean,
- 3:35Speaker 1: it doesn't doesn't work, it doesn't really work. But we
- 3:39Speaker 1: are good friends, and to that end I was able to.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I says, you know, you're going to be on here
- 3:45Speaker 1: tonight talking to my branding. I said, that's my thing. Tonight,
- 3:47Speaker 1: we are going to talk about branding because we're going
- 3:50Speaker 1: to talk about a very important brand that was changed
- 3:54Speaker 1: over the last four or five days and then changed
- 3:57Speaker 1: back again. And I have some feelings. I know you
- 4:00Speaker 1: do too, Tom. And we're talking about cracker barrel. Do
- 4:03Speaker 1: you are you familiar with cracker barrel. I'm very vaguely
- 4:06Speaker 1: familiar with that. Come from Chicago. I think there's a
- 4:10Speaker 1: cracker barrel around there, But now there's no cracker barrel
- 4:14Speaker 1: out west. No, we don't have cracker barrel in California. Nonetheless,
- 4:19Speaker 1: it's a very well known brand, and mister Henry encountered
- 4:22Speaker 1: it because he told me he'd seen cracker barrels here
- 4:24Speaker 1: and there. Yeah, it's it's it's there dotted. They sparkled
- 4:27Speaker 1: that I shouldn't say sparkle. They sprinkled it, you know,
- 4:30Speaker 1: and they're everywhere.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Now.
- 4:31Speaker 1: There was a story told by they went to a
- 4:34Speaker 1: cracker barrel I think was filling his friends after a
- 4:36Speaker 1: golf tournament in Alabama. What's wrong? Nothing? Nothing? Well, I
- 4:41Speaker 1: mean that's what they did. They went to a cracker
- 4:42Speaker 1: barrel after a golf tournament in Alabama. Let me guess
- 4:46Speaker 1: on a Sunday. Yes, it wasn't a Sunday. So they
- 4:50Speaker 1: well know, first thing, you I can't get served any booze.
- 4:52Speaker 1: They have blue laws in Alabama, right, and so they went.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Well then they said, well, all right. They tried to
- 4:58Speaker 1: order drinks. They couldn't order aready drinks because of the blueballs,
- 5:01Speaker 1: so then they ordered food and that's when things turned
- 5:04Speaker 1: kind of weird. Well what wrong? They just they didn't
- 5:08Speaker 1: dig the prove, that's all. But I said, but at
- 5:11Speaker 1: least you've been to a cracker barrel and he said,
- 5:13Speaker 1: yes I have. So he said, tonight, when you're filling
- 5:15Speaker 1: in for me, Now what is he doing? And he
- 5:17Speaker 1: asked me also not to say if Dopka asks what
- 5:20Speaker 1: I'm doing, tell him it's none of your business. I don't. Oh,
- 5:23Speaker 1: well what is he doing? But I don't know. He's
- 5:27Speaker 1: getting ready for his show in New York. Hey, this guy,
- 5:30Speaker 1: now he's an actor. Oh my god, well he is.
- 5:34Speaker 1: He's got the show in the Fields, doing a play
- 5:35Speaker 1: in New York. It begins in early October. It's called
- 5:37Speaker 1: The Pitch, written by Tom Alper. It's fantastic at the
- 5:41Speaker 1: Actors Teble Theater on forty seventh Street. And it's off Broadway,
- 5:45Speaker 1: you know, yeah, yeah, yeah, so I mean i'd like
- 5:50Speaker 1: to be off Broadway. You don't be off Broadway? What
- 5:52Speaker 1: standing up? Isn't that funny?
- 5:54Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 5:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that's great. Here's Bud Dickman. Yeah. I was waiting here,
- 5:58Speaker 1: so he says something funny. Yeah, I said, hey, wouldn't
- 6:01Speaker 1: you like to be off Broadway? We heard you would
- 6:03Speaker 1: not be off Broadway? Standing up? You like that? Yeah? Yeah,
- 6:09Speaker 1: your mind today? Can we get back to what it
- 6:13Speaker 1: is we're talking about? Said today we're going to talk
- 6:16Speaker 1: about branding. And this is the cracker barrel. And the
- 6:18Speaker 1: cracker barrel is a it's a it's a barrel of fun. Huh. Well,
- 6:23Speaker 1: I don't know. They have food. People seem to like
- 6:26Speaker 1: the food. But the logo is what we're talking about now,
- 6:29Speaker 1: a brand. Now here's what it was. It was a cracker.
- 6:32Speaker 1: It was a barrel that I don't know. Do you
- 6:34Speaker 1: keep crackers in it? Okay? Did Phil say that you
- 6:38Speaker 1: get to day I can ask an occasional question. Yeah,
- 6:42Speaker 1: what was your question? Do they keep crackers in it?
- 6:44Speaker 1: I don't think they keep crackers in it. I don't know.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Do you keep crackers in a barrel? I don't know.
- 6:49Speaker 1: So there's a barrel. Never mind, there's a barrel. I
- 6:51Speaker 1: don't really care. I don't care what they keep at it. Okay,
- 6:54Speaker 1: there could be dead bodies in it. God, yeah, don't
- 6:58Speaker 1: applaud that for that sake. I'm just trying to get
- 7:01Speaker 1: this to move it along. Okay. So there's a barrel
- 7:04Speaker 1: and I guess it means cracker barrel. And next to
- 7:06Speaker 1: the barrel sits this man. Now, for years and years
- 7:09Speaker 1: and years and years and years and years and year
- 7:12Speaker 1: and years, yet again this man sat next to this
- 7:15Speaker 1: barrel and this was the cracker barrel brand, the logo.
- 7:19Speaker 1: It was the man and he's leaning against it and
- 7:22Speaker 1: he's like, yeah, I'm an old man. You know what
- 7:26Speaker 1: does represent?
- 7:27Speaker 2: Well?
- 7:28Speaker 1: No, what did it represent? Well? I mean it, but again,
- 7:32Speaker 1: we're out west, we don't have cracker barrel. Okay. What
- 7:35Speaker 1: it represented was this is a guy saying, hey, how
- 7:38Speaker 1: you doing come on into the cracker barrel. Is he
- 7:40Speaker 1: the owner? I don't think so. I think he's more
- 7:41Speaker 1: like a neighborhood guy who's sitting there and he knows
- 7:45Speaker 1: the people that own the place, and he's hanging around,
- 7:47Speaker 1: you know. And some people might think it looks kind
- 7:49Speaker 1: of creepy. I don't know, but well see that's what
- 7:53Speaker 1: that's my understanding of why this brand went away when
- 7:56Speaker 1: it did. Because you're having a difficult time blaming this
- 8:00Speaker 1: man at the barrel? Bud, do you haven't I get well?
- 8:03Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 8:03Speaker 1: I think the hold on for a minute, is buddy?
- 8:06Speaker 1: Is you is? I? I'm sorry? Are you gonna be well?
- 8:10Speaker 1: As long as Phil said that Bud could comment because
- 8:12Speaker 1: he's also engineering tonight? Oh man, what's the problems through?
- 8:16Speaker 1: Mister Dadka? You know the name's Dadka. You don't mind?
- 8:19Speaker 1: What is my last Name's Dadka? Not Dapka. Oh oh?
- 8:23Speaker 1: I understanding? Was it was Dan Davka. No, I'm Don Berman.
- 8:26Speaker 1: He is Tom Dovka. Oh oh, I thought it was
- 8:29Speaker 1: Dan Davka. I'm not Dan Davka. You you got that?
- 8:32Speaker 1: What's your name? Bill Dickman? Didn't they call you ed? Yeah?
- 8:35Speaker 1: Well they could. But the name is Bud Dickman. Oh
- 8:37Speaker 1: I thought it was like Bob Dickman. All right, can
- 8:40Speaker 1: we pull our hands out of our pants now? And
- 8:41Speaker 1: let's get him? Sorry? All right? So anyway, Dan Da
- 8:46Speaker 1: not Dan Davka. But I mean the cracker barrel. What
- 8:50Speaker 1: were you talking about? Let me do this? Okay, So
- 8:52Speaker 1: the cracker barrel, it's a brand. And as the brand
- 8:56Speaker 1: is the old man or some kind of a guy
- 8:57Speaker 1: sitting in a chair next to the barrel, leaning against
- 9:00Speaker 1: the barrel, and was he's probably saying like, welcome, Welcome
- 9:03Speaker 1: to the Cracker Barrel. Yeah, something like that, Welcome to
- 9:05Speaker 1: the Cracker Barrel. Now, this has been there for many,
- 9:07Speaker 1: many years, and the people that own Cracker Barrel, the
- 9:11Speaker 1: people that owned the brand, the people that own the restaurant,
- 9:15Speaker 1: decided to change it. And Bud, you have some of
- 9:17Speaker 1: the background on that. Yeah, apparently according to the reason
- 9:19Speaker 1: why they wanted to change it. And I know you
- 9:21Speaker 1: referenced it, mister Burman and mister Davk. I don't know
- 9:24Speaker 1: if or I mean, I don't know if you did
- 9:26Speaker 1: or not, but they changed it because the guy sitting
- 9:30Speaker 1: leaning on the barrel started to give people kind of
- 9:34Speaker 1: the creeps. You know, what are you talking about? The creeps? Well,
- 9:37Speaker 1: I mean people would walk by. It'd be like if
- 9:40Speaker 1: you walk by a barrel and there's an old guy
- 9:42Speaker 1: just kind of leaning on it every day with his
- 9:45Speaker 1: legs crossed and just looking at you like, yeah, man, yeah,
- 9:50Speaker 1: what are you talking about? Man? I think I know
- 9:52Speaker 1: what he's talking about, saying. It's a guy who looks
- 9:55Speaker 1: he's not he looks suspicious. He does he looks suspicious
- 9:59Speaker 1: like he does belonging the area, you know, And uh,
- 10:03Speaker 1: let's talk about that for a minute. So you have
- 10:05Speaker 1: this brand that meant many benevolent things, and now all
- 10:09Speaker 1: of a sudden, here a out of the twenty first century. Oh,
- 10:11Speaker 1: I see where you go in this now in the
- 10:12Speaker 1: twenty first century. Then and we see a guy that's
- 10:13Speaker 1: hanging around a barrel, hanging around the front door of
- 10:16Speaker 1: a beloved restaurant, and you're like, what what do you want?
- 10:20Speaker 1: Exactly exactly what are you doing here again? And what
- 10:23Speaker 1: do you think the guy would say? Bud, he'd probably
- 10:26Speaker 1: say sounding like you know, I'm waiting for I'm waiting
- 10:29Speaker 1: for Timmy or whoever you know, or I'm just I'm
- 10:31Speaker 1: sitting here. I could you know I was going to
- 10:34Speaker 1: take a nap. In other words, he's got no good
- 10:36Speaker 1: he's got doing no good. He he it's sold out.
- 10:40Speaker 1: He's got no good reason. That's exactly right. He has
- 10:43Speaker 1: no real good reason. So what Cracker Barrel had was
- 10:47Speaker 1: a logo showing a guy leaning against the cracker barrel
- 10:52Speaker 1: for no good reason, just hanging around looking like a creep.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Yeah he did. I mean, it's a tough way to
- 10:57Speaker 1: put it. It is a tough but he kind of did.
- 11:00Speaker 1: He did he you know, it gives people the creeps.
- 11:02Speaker 1: As he's sitting there, he looks like a creep and
- 11:04Speaker 1: he give it. He gives them the creeps. He looks
- 11:06Speaker 1: like a creep and he gives them the creeps. Look,
- 11:08Speaker 1: that's what you said. Not quite but yes, you're right.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Uh so that's what my read is. That's why they
- 11:16Speaker 1: took the change the logo. Now, how do you feel
- 11:19Speaker 1: about that? I'd like to ask your opinion on that.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Tom will start with you. Tom My opinion is they
- 11:24Speaker 1: changed the logo because this guy, they say, the guy
- 11:27Speaker 1: looks like a creep. To me, he looked like a
- 11:30Speaker 1: guy that might want to have a sandwich, And he
- 11:33Speaker 1: looks like a guy that maybe you might want to
- 11:35Speaker 1: help out by giving him a sandwich or maybe a
- 11:38Speaker 1: warm cup of noodle soup or something. You know, but
- 11:41Speaker 1: you're not necessarily going to say, you know something, served partner,
- 11:44Speaker 1: you forgive me, but you look like the biggest creep.
- 11:48Speaker 1: What is ever? He said, could you please clear? Could
- 11:51Speaker 1: you get off my pocket at least stand on the
- 11:52Speaker 1: other side of the parking lot, you know, so you
- 11:55Speaker 1: would agree with that. I agree with what you would
- 11:59Speaker 1: agree with the fact that it looks like a creep
- 12:00Speaker 1: and they should have changed the logo. Yes, But then
- 12:03Speaker 1: I also realized that they changed it back, and so
- 12:06Speaker 1: I also agree with that, because yeah, because you're ating
- 12:09Speaker 1: to get business as a radio consultant or anything if
- 12:12Speaker 1: you disagree with your points of views of the of
- 12:13Speaker 1: the people's what what are you talking about? I look,
- 12:17Speaker 1: what he's saying is you're being a bit mercenary there
- 12:20Speaker 1: are you? Are you pandering? No, I'm not pandering. I'm
- 12:23Speaker 1: saying that. Yes, that logo had an old guy. He
- 12:26Speaker 1: looked like some kind of a He looked like he
- 12:28Speaker 1: might as well be sitting there with his hand in
- 12:30Speaker 1: his pants. That's what he looked like to me. He
- 12:32Speaker 1: looked like some busted down old weird ass. And Hi,
- 12:37Speaker 1: welcome to Cracker Barrel. And oh yeah, here's a broken
- 12:39Speaker 1: down weird ass and God forbid your children, all right,
- 12:43Speaker 1: so we don't have to get trafficked. Well that's what
- 12:45Speaker 1: it looked like. Well was there ever any you know,
- 12:48Speaker 1: I'm the reporter. Why am I asking you questions? That's
- 12:50Speaker 1: that's exactly right. Why are you You're the reporter. You're
- 12:53Speaker 1: supposed to have this story, and yet you're asking me,
- 12:56Speaker 1: Tom Davka the questions. All right, well, here's what I
- 12:59Speaker 1: found out that, Uh, it's difficult to attract families to
- 13:03Speaker 1: a cracker barrel when you have a logo featuring some
- 13:07Speaker 1: guy sitting at a barrel, leering and and sort of
- 13:12Speaker 1: staring with that kind of weird LIU like you know, high.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Yeah he did.
- 13:17Speaker 1: He's like staring at the people. Liked the women are
- 13:19Speaker 1: coming in. He's trying to he's trying to get a peek. Yeah, exactly,
- 13:22Speaker 1: like he's trying to look up their dress or something.
- 13:25Speaker 1: I don't see that at all, you guys, nuts of something.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Where do you see that? Look at the guy man,
- 13:29Speaker 1: he sits there at the barrel and he's all, hai, yeah, yeah,
- 13:33Speaker 1: well it is it's a smile. It's the smile that
- 13:35Speaker 1: gives them away. It's he has half lidded eyes with
- 13:39Speaker 1: a half smile. He's wearing some old overalls that look
- 13:43Speaker 1: like they probably stink of you said, I didn't say semen,
- 13:47Speaker 1: you know you got to cut this out. But okay,
- 13:49Speaker 1: what are you guys talking about? Take two? He's wearing
- 13:53Speaker 1: overalls that stink of fecal matter for all I know,
- 13:58Speaker 1: and and and he's got and you know it. Just
- 14:01Speaker 1: the guy looks suspicious. So the people at Cracker Barrel,
- 14:04Speaker 1: in my opinion, took took another look at this logo
- 14:08Speaker 1: and said, we can't have this out in front of
- 14:11Speaker 1: our stores, the beloved Cracker Barrel where people go to
- 14:13Speaker 1: have their dinner, out in front of some bum who's
- 14:17Speaker 1: probably the last thing about half the kids in town
- 14:20Speaker 1: saw before they went missing. Yeah, yeah, what are you
- 14:24Speaker 1: applauding that for? It's a good point. What do you think, Tom,
- 14:27Speaker 1: I don't think it, did it? If you guy? Look
- 14:29Speaker 1: at the guy maybe your lasting kids out before. Maybe
- 14:33Speaker 1: he's just a guy who cheats at pool. Maybe he's
- 14:35Speaker 1: a guy that everybody don't want to play cards with
- 14:38Speaker 1: because he is he cheats. Maybe he's a guy who
- 14:42Speaker 1: lets air out of people's tires. Why do you take
- 14:44Speaker 1: it to the extreme, you know, because that's what people
- 14:47Speaker 1: are thinking, all right. And when you're bringing your family
- 14:50Speaker 1: into a restaurant these days, you know, a so called
- 14:53Speaker 1: family restaurant, and you bring your kids in and outside
- 14:57Speaker 1: is this guy leaning again? There's the guy leaning against
- 14:59Speaker 1: the barrel again, Jesus, I can't bring my family into
- 15:01Speaker 1: this restaurant with some guy that probably smells like he
- 15:06Speaker 1: slept outdoors six nights out of seven, you know, Jesus. Yeah,
- 15:10Speaker 1: there he is leaning against the barrel. Oh Hi, yeah,
- 15:12Speaker 1: I'm still homeless. Well, you man, you're not not going
- 15:15Speaker 1: to homeless people, are you.
- 15:16Speaker 2: No?
- 15:16Speaker 1: But I'm saying, here's this guy as you walk into
- 15:18Speaker 1: Cracker Barrel leaning against the barrel. How you doing? Hi,
- 15:21Speaker 1: I'm waiting. If nobody's around, maybe I'll just go ahead
- 15:23Speaker 1: and start rifling through the till. I don't know. You know,
- 15:26Speaker 1: you got a really really bad view of humanity. No,
- 15:29Speaker 1: I'm telling you what happened. I know what happened. Cracker
- 15:33Speaker 1: Barrel said, we don't want to have this logo no more.
- 15:36Speaker 1: In my opinion, they didn't want to have the logo
- 15:38Speaker 1: no more because it looked like some bum. Like you
- 15:41Speaker 1: were saying, he looked like some bum. Yeah, it looked
- 15:43Speaker 1: like a bum, and they don't want to have no bum.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Even if he's not breaking the law, he's some bum man.
- 15:49Speaker 1: He needs to go get his he needs to get vaccinated.
- 15:52Speaker 1: He needs to get vaccinated. Yes, exactly, he looked like
- 15:54Speaker 1: some unvaccinated bum and so Cracker Barrel said, we're not
- 15:58Speaker 1: using it anymore. Goodbye. Now comes this uproar of people.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Of course, these are people that have been the Cracker
- 16:06Speaker 1: Barrel oh so many years, and they want to have
- 16:09Speaker 1: the fine foods to Cracker Barrel. They want to go in,
- 16:11Speaker 1: and when they go in, they want to look and see,
- 16:13Speaker 1: here it is the guy. How you doing? How you doing? Champ?
- 16:16Speaker 1: As the guy is sitting there, and what if what
- 16:18Speaker 1: if the guy is sitting upright but he's been dead
- 16:20Speaker 1: for three weeks? Yeah? Yeah, don't think about that, do
- 16:23Speaker 1: you you talking about? I'm talking about if the guy
- 16:27Speaker 1: is sitting upright with a half smile on his face
- 16:29Speaker 1: and his eyes are kind of glassy, and you walk
- 16:31Speaker 1: over to say hello to him, and it stinks like
- 16:33Speaker 1: an open grave. Yeah, so you're trying to tell me
- 16:36Speaker 1: that the guy's been dead. Yes, yes, I'm saying that
- 16:40Speaker 1: that guy is so well known, people are so used
- 16:43Speaker 1: to him that they may be walking by him and
- 16:46Speaker 1: rigamortis is set in over the last month and a half. Yeah,
- 16:50Speaker 1: that's the way you do it, all right? Okay, dick man,
- 16:52Speaker 1: knock it up, will you got? But that's what we're
- 16:54Speaker 1: talking about. Well, if you guys are talking about that, man, man,

- 18:52Speaker 1: be here. I'm with Tom Dopcot radio consultant Bud Dickman,
- 18:55Speaker 1: who is an engineer and sometime associate.
- 18:58Speaker 3: What do you call?
- 18:59Speaker 1: What do Bud? Yeah? I associate producer and engineer and
- 19:02Speaker 1: everything and everything.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Like that, you know.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Yeah? Well all right, no, I mean no, no, I understand.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Uh So we're gonna take some phone calls, right, Yeah,
- 19:11Speaker 1: we got a couple off. We got Cladman and Perceval Cladman. Yeah,
- 19:15Speaker 1: it's a guy's name. I know. This guy's Cladman is
- 19:18Speaker 1: a guy he calls himself Cladman because he's usually clad
- 19:22Speaker 1: in nice in a nice seersucker suit. You know this guy. Yes,
- 19:26Speaker 1: his name's Cladman. Let's talk to Cladman. How are you hello?
- 19:30Speaker 2: This is Tlad. They're very grateful to talk to you.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Nice to talk to you, mister Burman. Am I speak
- 19:33Speaker 2: with mister Berman?
- 19:34Speaker 1: Yes, it's Don Berman, okay, And I.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Know Tom Duck. I know you and Tommy. You're absolutely right.
- 19:39Speaker 2: I am plaid today in a seersucker suit. It feels
- 19:42Speaker 2: light airy. It's the kind of thing that I really
- 19:44Speaker 2: want to wear. I'd wear this thing to bed because
- 19:46Speaker 2: if I could, if I would, why don't you? I
- 19:49Speaker 2: don't know i'd look like. Speaking of looking like a creep,
- 19:51Speaker 2: I don't don't lay in bed in a seersucker suit.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Somebody walks by, it looks at me, and they think
- 19:55Speaker 2: I look like one hundred yards of a creep in
- 19:57Speaker 2: a serious sucker suit.
- 19:59Speaker 1: So what about the what's your opinion on the guy the.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Cracker Barrel think what you was talking about is the
- 20:04Speaker 2: guy dead. I don't think he's dead, but I think
- 20:06Speaker 2: he's close to it. I think he's close to death.
- 20:08Speaker 2: I think that it's a very, very spart that the
- 20:10Speaker 2: people at Cracker Barrel got rid of. That's got rid
- 20:12Speaker 2: of the trademark, throw the logo, They got rid of
- 20:15Speaker 2: the spokes bottle or whatever you want to call it,
- 20:16Speaker 2: and are back to doing what Cracker Barrel does best,
- 20:19Speaker 2: which is, in my opinion, what they do best is
- 20:20Speaker 2: serving food that you can barely get down. And I
- 20:24Speaker 2: mean that with all due respect. I've tried, God how
- 20:26Speaker 2: I've tried to like their food. I've tried and tried
- 20:27Speaker 2: and tried to like their food. But I can't like
- 20:29Speaker 2: their food because this food you can barely get done.
- 20:31Speaker 2: You can barely get done. Once you get it done,
- 20:33Speaker 2: then you have to sit there and go.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Ye all right, thank you very much for your call.
- 20:38Speaker 1: What what is that? That was cladmin? Yeah, that was clad, Ben,
- 20:42Speaker 1: He was clad. He was clad in a sear sucker suit.
- 20:45Speaker 1: That's why they called him. Yeah, they that's what they do.
- 20:49Speaker 1: That's why they do. Yeah. Okay, here's another phone call.
- 20:52Speaker 1: This is Bobby Dooley and mis Duley is a well
- 20:54Speaker 1: known caller on the field Henry Show. Mssduley. How are
- 20:58Speaker 1: you well?
- 20:58Speaker 2: Like good evening time? Hello? Do Tom Dipka? Is it?
- 21:02Speaker 1: It's Tom Dobka. Man.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I've told you I'm not a man.
- 21:05Speaker 1: No, I was gonna. I said I was Tom Dobka, ma'am.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Okay, it's I thought it was Dipka. It's dodka.
- 21:13Speaker 1: No, ma'am, it's not dodka. It's dovka, not divka, not dicka.
- 21:18Speaker 2: I didn't say dicka. My wife didn't say dick.
- 21:20Speaker 1: That's you mean. I didn't. I didn't think she said dick,
- 21:23Speaker 1: Miss Duli. How are you? This is Don Burma. What
- 21:25Speaker 1: can we do for you?
- 21:26Speaker 2: Thank you?
- 21:26Speaker 4: John?
- 21:27Speaker 2: Yeah, my husband and I were talking about this. We
- 21:30Speaker 2: do not have cracker barrow in California, uh cracker bearre
- 21:34Speaker 2: but we've enjoyed cracker barrel. Down here in California. We
- 21:39Speaker 2: have something in in in something called Clamtown, USA.
- 21:43Speaker 1: And this is what it's called clam I've never heard
- 21:46Speaker 1: of it. I live in California.
- 21:47Speaker 2: You never heard of Clampdown, USA?
- 21:49Speaker 1: No, I am not. But have you no, ma'am, I
- 21:52Speaker 1: haven't heard of that, mister di I it's still Tom Dobka. No,
- 21:56Speaker 1: I have not.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Okay, you guys are missing out. Clamtown you it is
- 22:01Speaker 2: the capital of the clam High. I'm mister Clam. That's
- 22:04Speaker 2: their entire ad. And it's a clam with a smiling
- 22:07Speaker 2: face and a crown on his head. Clamtown, USA. You
- 22:11Speaker 2: never had it so good High, I'm mister clam. It's
- 22:14Speaker 2: right there on the billboard.
- 22:15Speaker 1: But you're trying to compare this to a cracker.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Barrel, Yes, because the branding is very benevolent. You see
- 22:21Speaker 2: mister Clam with a smile, with a crown on his head,
- 22:25Speaker 2: and he has these two fake arms and he's holding
- 22:29Speaker 2: them out and he wants to hug the world. Then
- 22:31Speaker 2: you have this cracker barrel where they have a man
- 22:34Speaker 2: half dead, possibly a serial murderer, someone who no one
- 22:38Speaker 2: knows where he's from. No one knows where he's from,
- 22:41Speaker 2: No one knows where he's going. You got to follow
- 22:43Speaker 2: him around the minute you lose track of if you're
- 22:46Speaker 2: scared to death. My wife's scared. But any kind of
- 22:49Speaker 2: a creep that's hanging.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Around so here, you think that this guy, a cracker
- 22:53Speaker 1: barrel guy, is indeed a creep that looks to be
- 22:56Speaker 1: someone they have to watch him for it.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Yes, I do, okay. Any guy that hangs around a
- 23:01Speaker 2: barrel and just hugs the barrel and spiling it and
- 23:03Speaker 2: he's patting the top of the barrel. Someone said there's
- 23:06Speaker 2: probably body parts in there, and I agree with.
- 23:08Speaker 1: It, all right, thank you very much. That's Bobby Dooley. Yeah, Dooley, Okay,
- 23:16Speaker 1: And uh, what what is it? Well, I you say,
- 23:19Speaker 1: there's Bobby Dooley, Like she's God's gift to the earth.
- 23:21Speaker 1: What is she? She's a very regular caller on the
- 23:24Speaker 1: Ftal Henry Show. She's not. She's not God's gifts of
- 23:27Speaker 1: the Earth. But you know, I don't know. She's a
- 23:30Speaker 1: very important member of the of the show, of the
- 23:32Speaker 1: show audience. Well, I don't know, okay. See, and here
- 23:36Speaker 1: we are talking about people, you know, a guy. That's
- 23:39Speaker 1: some guy that looks like some creep and he's hanging
- 23:41Speaker 1: around the Cracker Barrel and they had him at the
- 23:44Speaker 1: logo was this creep? And what Cracker Barrel ot to
- 23:48Speaker 1: say is we got tired of having some guy that
- 23:50Speaker 1: looks like he We got tired of having some guy
- 23:53Speaker 1: that looks like he's in the Epstein list. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 23:58Speaker 1: it's finally got ha said, didn't you know? He does?
- 24:00Speaker 1: He looks like you got a guy hanging around a
- 24:02Speaker 1: barrel of Cracker Barrel that looks like he's on the
- 24:05Speaker 1: Epstein List. Yeah, that's all I'm saying. So, yeah, they
- 24:09Speaker 1: wanted to get rid of that guy. Well he didn't
- 24:11Speaker 1: get rid of him. They brought him back. So now
- 24:13Speaker 1: how do you feel. I don't give a shit. Yeah
- 24:17Speaker 1: that's what I thought. So I'm just saying, you understand
- 24:20Speaker 1: I'm saying, No, I understand what you're saying. He looks
- 24:23Speaker 1: like a pervert. Yes he does. That's why Cracker Barrel
- 24:26Speaker 1: has made a very big mistake in bringing back the
- 24:29Speaker 1: Cracker Barrel guy. Because he looks like he's a freek,
- 24:33Speaker 1: because he looks like a stinking perv. Because he looks
- 24:36Speaker 1: like a pervert as he's sitting there smiling pat in
- 24:39Speaker 1: a barrel. Like in the barrel here, I've got a
- 24:41Speaker 1: hundred and maybe a two hundred asses from young boys
- 24:45Speaker 1: or something. Oh my god, what are you talking about? God,
- 24:49Speaker 1: I don't know. You know, that's thank you very much,
- 24:51Speaker 1: Tom Well, I'm just saying, well, thank you very much. Oh.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I'm just saying, if the guy like carved up bodies,
- 24:57Speaker 1: I understand. Oh let me, let me, let me sit down.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Didn't move over here, mister Dodkin. Yeah. See he's all
- 25:08Speaker 1: sick and he's all worried about our kays. I'm just saying,
- 25:11Speaker 1: the cracker barrel guy looks like some guy's probably got
- 25:15Speaker 1: dead eyes when you look at him. I mister cracker
- 25:17Speaker 1: barrel guy in there, he has his eyes are just
- 25:19Speaker 1: dead lit it over and staring at you and looking
- 25:22Speaker 1: at you like you're nothing more than a prize turkey's
- 25:24Speaker 1: gonna carve up later on. And I want to think
- 25:26Speaker 1: about that. Yeah, that's yeah, that's the way you say it. Yeah,
- 25:30Speaker 1: And I don't think anybody like that should be getting
- 25:33Speaker 1: given no accolades. I'm not you're being a guy. Accolades.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Laid back down, you gotta lay back down, mister Berman.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Don't look caught. Lay down. Yeah, you gotta lay down.
- 25:43Speaker 1: You look terrible. My name is Tom Dovka, and you're
- 25:46Speaker 1: listening to the Phil Henry Show. Tom Doveka, real you consultant.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Contact Tom at the Kevco Building in Chicago, Illinois, and
- 25:54Speaker 1: have your show consulted to death. We're just kidding. And
- 25:58Speaker 1: have your show consulted by Tom. He'll consult it and
- 26:01Speaker 1: consult it and consult it yet again until it's it's
- 26:04Speaker 1: fully consultant. You don't worry about that. I'm Tom Dovka.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Look me up there at the Cabco building. Okay, give
- 26:11Speaker 1: me a call, all right, I'll work a deal out. Okay.
- 26:13Speaker 1: If I'm not there, I'm in my car. Call my
- 26:15Speaker 1: car phone and that's probably the same number Tom Doveka
- 26:19Speaker 1: radio consultant, and welcome back here. This is Don Bartman.
- 26:25Speaker 1: And one more phone call. We have Sugy here, Sugary High.
- 26:30Speaker 1: How do you doing?
- 26:31Speaker 2: I'm newly really gonna want to ask you guys, why
- 26:33Speaker 2: is it that they just can't just keep the guy
- 26:36Speaker 2: that they had the logo, even if he looked like
- 26:39Speaker 2: he was a child molester. I don't know a pedterest.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Just keep it because you look friendly enough. He was
- 26:43Speaker 2: leaning against the barrel, saying, come on and hassan to eat,
- 26:46Speaker 2: because even if you know, you could see even if
- 26:48Speaker 2: I'm a pervert, even if I'm some kind of a pervert,
- 26:51Speaker 2: if I like do it to do it with dogs
- 26:54Speaker 2: and horses. I don't know, he said, But even a
- 26:56Speaker 2: guy like me got to eat. And the food that
- 26:58Speaker 2: I eat is just the same food you eat, and
- 27:00Speaker 2: I gotta eat.
- 27:01Speaker 1: You know, are you saying that the guy still is
- 27:04Speaker 1: viable as a spokesman for a restaurant.
- 27:08Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know what that meant.
- 27:09Speaker 1: I'm you're saying that the guy still works as a
- 27:11Speaker 1: spokesman for a restaurant.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so. I think he works real good
- 27:14Speaker 2: because you look at it. You already know what the
- 27:17Speaker 2: show sound like. And you want to have a guy
- 27:19Speaker 2: who says, you know, I know I look like I'm
- 27:21Speaker 2: a pervert. I know I look like I'm a sexual predator.
- 27:26Speaker 2: I know I look like I'm just something that ought
- 27:28Speaker 2: to be in a cage. I know I look like
- 27:30Speaker 2: some real sick Yeah, you know, all right?
- 27:36Speaker 1: That is whatever he is, that's the guy I didn't
- 27:38Speaker 1: give his name, didn't he didn't give his name, and
- 27:40Speaker 1: yet you knew what his name was. Yeah, I'm Don
- 27:47Speaker 1: Berman and this has been the Berman beat tonight. Looking
- 27:50Speaker 1: at the Cracker Barrel logo, and I think we've come
- 27:53Speaker 1: to the conclusion that the Cracker Barrel logo the guy's back.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Though he may be some sort of a creep that
- 27:58Speaker 1: follows kids home. Yeah, that's the thing. You don't know.
- 28:02Speaker 1: He looks like the kind of guy that would follow
- 28:05Speaker 1: a woman into a parking lot. You know what I'm saying,
- 28:07Speaker 1: Like late at night, Hey, welcome to Cracker Barrel. I'm
- 28:09Speaker 1: the guy, And the lady says, oh great, you're gonna
- 28:11Speaker 1: sit next to the barrel. He says, yeah, but guess what,
- 28:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna follow you into a parking lot tonight and
- 28:16Speaker 1: there's nobody and then nobody around. Well all I all,
- 28:20Speaker 1: I say, that's our read. Okay, I don't go to
- 28:23Speaker 1: Cracker Barrel. I wouldn't know Cracker Barrel if it was
- 28:25Speaker 1: it was across the street and it was on fire.
- 28:27Speaker 1: I didn't stay. It's very I didn't say it's very tasty. Yeah,
- 28:30Speaker 1: just don't buy booze there. Well, you can't buy booze
- 28:32Speaker 1: on a blue Sunday cracker barrel. It's a great place
- 28:37Speaker 1: to eat, But the guy that sits next to the
- 28:39Speaker 1: barrel looks like, I don't know, he may be one
- 28:42Speaker 1: of the undead. Don Berman is produced by Phil Henry.
