- 0:00Chapter 22 from the book of Isaiah, This one has a lot of
- 0:05interesting things in it, things that were not in the study
- 0:09Bible. So they are just observations
- 0:12that came to me as I was reading it.
- 0:14So I will save those for the end.
- 0:16But very interesting stuff to say the least.
- 0:19So dear God, please be with us as we read through this chapter.
- 0:23Please give us wisdom from the knowledge that we received from
- 0:27it. And we ask for this in Jesus
- 0:29name, Amen. So a prophecy against the valley
- 0:33of vision, Jerusalem. Right away, the very first
- 0:37statement that it says a prophecy against the valley of
- 0:42vision found it interesting that in Joel, another prophet in
- 0:48chapter 3, verse 14, he says multitudes, multitudes in the
- 0:54valley of decision for the day of the Lord is near in the
- 1:00valley of decision. We'll see later on that in this
- 1:05Scripture it references that day and I believe it.
- 1:10It is the day of the Lord, but I'll get to that at the very end
- 1:13of it. So I will just read through.
- 1:15I think I'll just read through Scripture first.
- 1:18Then I will go through the questions and answers from the
- 1:21Study Bible, and then I will go through things that came to me
- 1:24as I was reading this. So a prophecy against the valley
- 1:28of vision. What troubles you now that you
- 1:31have gone up on the roofs? You, you town so full of
- 1:36commotion, you city of tumult and revelry.
- 1:39You were slain. You are slain.
- 1:42Were not killed by the sword, nor did they die in battle.
- 1:47All your leaders have fled together.
- 1:50They have, they have been captured without using the bow.
- 1:55All you who were caught were taken prisoner together, having
- 1:59fled while the enemy was still far away.
- 2:03Therefore I say, turn away from me.
- 2:06Let me weep bitterly. Do not try to console me over
- 2:10the destruction of my people. The Lord, the Lord Almighty, has
- 2:16a day of tumult, of tumult and trampling and terror in the
- 2:21valley. A vision, a day of battering
- 2:24down walls and of crying out to the mountains.
- 2:29Elam takes up the quiver with her charioteers and horses.
- 2:35Kerr uncovers the shield. Your choicest valleys are full
- 2:40of Chariots, and horsemen are posted at the city gates.
- 2:44The Lord stripped away the defenses of Judah, and you
- 2:47looked, and you looked in that day to the weapons in the Palace
- 2:53of the Forest. You saw that the walls of the
- 2:57City of David were broken through in many places.
- 3:01You stored up water in the lower pool.
- 3:04You counted the buildings in Jerusalem and tore down houses
- 3:08to strengthen the wall. You built a reservoir between
- 3:12the two walls for the water of the old pool, but you did not
- 3:17look to the one who made it, or have regard for the one who
- 3:22planned it long ago. The Lord, the Lord Almighty,
- 3:26called on you that day to weep and to wail, to tear out your
- 3:31hair and put on sackcloth. But see, there is joy and
- 3:35revelry, slaughtering of cattle and killing of sheep, eating of
- 3:38meat and drinking of wine. Let us eat and drink, you say,
- 3:42for to Morrow we die. The Lord Almighty has revealed
- 3:46this in my hearing. Till your dying day this sin
- 3:51will not be atoned for, says the Lord the Lord Almighty.
- 3:55This is what the Lord, the Lord Almighty says.
- 3:58Go, say, to the steward, to Shibna, the palace
- 4:01administrator. What are you doing here?
- 4:04And who gave you permission to cut out a grave for yourself
- 4:07here, hewing your grave on the height and chiseling your
- 4:11resting place in the rock? Beware, the Lord is about to
- 4:15take firm hold of you and hurl you away, you mighty man.
- 4:19He will roll you up tightly like a ball and throw you into a
- 4:22large country. There you will die, and there
- 4:26the Chariots you were so proud of will become a disgrace to
- 4:29your master's house. I will depose you from your
- 4:33office and you will be ousted from your position.
- 4:37In that day I will summon my servant Eliakim, son of
- 4:43Heliakaya. I will clothe him with your robe
- 4:48and fasten your sash around him and hand your authority over to
- 4:52him. He will be a father to those who
- 4:55live in Jerusalem and to the people of Judah.
- 4:58I will place on his shoulder the key to the House of David.
- 5:01What he opens, no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can
- 5:04open. I will drive him like a pig into
- 5:07a firm place. He will become a seat of the
- 5:10house for the House of his father.
- 5:13All the glory of his family will hang on him its offsprings and
- 5:17offshoots all of its lesser vessels, from the bowls to all
- 5:21the jars. In that day, declares the Lord
- 5:24Almighty, the peg driven into the firm place will give way.
- 5:29It will be sheared off and will fall, and the load hanging on it
- 5:33will be cut down. The Lord has spoken, and that's
- 5:38the end of chapter 22. So there is a lot in here, but I
- 5:42will first read what the study Bible says.
- 5:45What does the Valley of Vision refer to this.
- 5:49The prophecy that follows clearly refers to Jerusalem,
- 5:53though this is a surprising way to introduce a prophecy about a
- 5:56holy city, because Jerusalem is often referred to as a mountain,
- 5:59not a valley. A mountain provides commanding
- 6:02view, but little can be seen from the valley.
- 6:05This may be sarcasm. Isaiah may have been saying that
- 6:09the people had no vision. The valley of vision could also
- 6:12refer to a specific valley, likely near Jerusalem, in which
- 6:18Isaiah had this vision. Why was Jerusalem full of
- 6:22revelry? It is difficult to know in this
- 6:25past if this passage refers to the unsuccessful Assyrian threat
- 6:31to Jerusalem in seven O 1 BC or to the Babylonian siege and
- 6:36destruction of the city in 588 through 86 BC.
- 6:41If it refers to the former, then the Judeans were likely
- 6:45celebrating their miraculous deliverance.
- 6:49If the latter, then they were likely behaving just like the
- 6:52Babylonians did prior to their fall.
- 6:55How did these people die? Whether the Assyrian or
- 6:59Babylonian threat is in view, the slain who were not killed by
- 7:04the sword could refer to those who starved or died of disease.
- 7:09Perhaps some of Judah leaders were so demoralized at the
- 7:13approach of the cruel Assyrians that they simply fled the night
- 7:18the Babylonians finally broke through Jerusalem's wall.
- 7:21King Zedekiah and his army fled together but were chased down
- 7:25and captured near Jericho. What caused Isaiah to whip Weep
- 7:30bitterly? The section of Isaiah's prophecy
- 7:33from verses 4 through 8 appears to look beyond the Assyrian
- 7:37threat of Isaiah's day to Judah's destruction by the
- 7:41Babylonians over a century later.
- 7:44Isaiah knew that the people did not learn from God's wonderful
- 7:47act of deliverance. The sorrow the prophet, The
- 7:51sorrow of the prophet prophet for his people was so deep that
- 7:55he was inconsolable. Who or what were Elam and Kerr?
- 8:00Elam and Kerr were great nations that led to the east of Israel.
- 8:05Elam was the land northeast of the lower Tigris valley.
- 8:09Kerr was probably another name for media.
- 8:12Troops from these nations were probably part of the Babylonian
- 8:16military machine that attacked Judah.
- 8:21It doesn't reference us here, but those areas are actually
- 8:24modern day Iran. OK, what was the Palace of the
- 8:29Forest? This was the name of Solomon's
- 8:32Palace, which was built of Cedars shipped from the Forest
- 8:36of Lebanon. Part of this palace served as an
- 8:39Armory. Isaiah listed the palace with
- 8:42its weapons, their ingeniously engineered water supply, and
- 8:46their reinforced walls as evidence that they were trusting
- 8:51in themselves rather than God. Let us eat, drink, eat and
- 8:56drink, for tomorrow we die. Jesus and Paul referred to this
- 9:01cavalier attitude that some people have towards life and
- 9:05death. Who was this Shibna?
- 9:08He was likely one of the chief culprits in persuading Hezekiah
- 9:13to revolt against Assyria and was subsequent subsequently
- 9:17demoted to secretary and replaced by Iliakim.
- 9:23The only explicit charge made against Shibna is that he
- 9:28planned for himself in an ostent.
- 9:32He he planned for himself an ostentatious grave.
- 9:36No doubt this action typified his self-centered attitude and
- 9:41apathy towards the plight of his country and fellow citizens.
- 9:50What he opens and no one can shut.
- 9:53Similar words are used to illustrate authority given by
- 9:56God in Matthew 16 verse 19 and Revelation chapter 3, verse 7.
- 10:02Why would Eliakim fall? Unlike Shibna, his replacement,
- 10:07Eliakim could be concerned for the people under his charge and
- 10:11would act as a father to them. But such individuals can become
- 10:16so dependable, like a peg driven into a firm place, that others
- 10:21rely too much on them. Eliakim's family would evidently
- 10:25become a special burden to him. Isaiah seemed to predict predict
- 10:30that Eliakim would crack under the strain, and all that had
- 10:34been dependent on him would come crashing down.
- 10:38Likewise, the people of Judah had rejected divine resources
- 10:42and were trusting in humans instead.
- 10:45And that's the end of the questions and answers from the
- 10:48Study Bible for chapter 22. When I was reading it, of
- 10:53course, I noticed other things like valley of vision.
- 10:57So that was something, of course, yes.
- 10:59But it also is referred to, like I said, in Joel 314, where it
- 11:05says this is this is in regards to the end times where it says
- 11:10multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision for the day
- 11:14of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
- 11:19And it's it's about the judgment of the nations that in the book
- 11:25of Joel chapter 3. So this is one of those
- 11:30prophecies where we can see that it does have, you know, a, a
- 11:36partial fulfillment. But a, in my opinion, it seems
- 11:40like it actually has some sort of end time relevance as well
- 11:46because it, there's a lot of things that happen, like history
- 11:49repeats itself. And this is one of those times
- 11:53where I think history repeats itself.
- 11:56And whether or not everything's been completed here or this is
- 12:00just going to say that there's going to be another repeat of
- 12:02this because we do know that nations will surround Israel in
- 12:07the very last days. And so it talks about all the
- 12:11leaders being fled, obviously Hezekiah.
- 12:14And was it Hezekiah that left that they said flood and in
- 12:21advance of everything? And this, you know, maybe that
- 12:25was the fulfillment of it or maybe there is a future time
- 12:28too. Because we do know at the end
- 12:31times that the Bible instructs those who are in Judea, when the
- 12:36lawless man is revealed, or what is known as the Antichrist is
- 12:40revealed, they are supposed to flee to the mountains.
- 12:43So again, these things could have multiple meanings or
- 12:47multiple fulfillment of prophecy.
- 12:52So I could I could read more about what this chapter 3 I'll
- 12:59read of Joel, what that is when I mentioned, you know, the
- 13:03prophecy against the valley of vision.
- 13:05I will read to you what just several lines of what Joel says
- 13:09about the nations being judged. Here's the prophet Joel chapter
- 13:133 in those days and at that time when I restore the fortunes of
- 13:18Judah and Jerusalem. So it's talking about the same
- 13:22entity. I will gather all nations and
- 13:26bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat.
- 13:29There I will put them on trial for what they did to my
- 13:33inheritance, my people, Israel, because they scattered my people
- 13:37among the nations and divided up my land.
- 13:41Now, that is something that's very interesting right now in
- 13:442025, because they're talking about dividing up the land.
- 13:49And God gave Israel a certain guidelines of or not guidelines,
- 13:55boundaries of land. And that is constantly being
- 14:01challenged by the surrounding nations.
- 14:03And it is, I think there's an actual meeting in September
- 14:06where it's going to be talked about.
- 14:08And Israel has actually been meeting, I don't know if it was
- 14:11in the Knesset to discuss this in their bargaining with Hamas.
- 14:16And there is, you know, creating a Palestinian state.
- 14:20So it if Bible prophecy gets fulfilled, then the Palestinian
- 14:27state may come to be. It doesn't seem like Israel is
- 14:29very much interested in doing that right now, but there's a
- 14:32lot of pressures from other countries that are suggesting
- 14:36this be the way. I I don't know what's going to
- 14:39happen with that. But certainly if it gets divided
- 14:42up it that would be another like mile marker where it seems like
- 14:46boy, we must be in the end times if that happens.
- 14:49So going back to what Joel says, they cast lots for my people and
- 14:53traded boys for prostitutes. They sold girls for wine to
- 14:56drink. Now what have you, what have you
- 14:59against me, Tyre and Saidon and all your regions of Phil
- 15:03Philistia. Well, Tyre is Lebanon and the
- 15:09regions of Philistia is Gaza. So it's really interesting that
- 15:13these ancient cities were, you know, are something that's
- 15:17happening today. Again, it seems like the Bible
- 15:19is becoming alive with what we're seeing today, our Bible
- 15:24prophecy. And it says Joel says, are you
- 15:27repaying me for something I have done?
- 15:29If you are paying me back, I will swiftly and speedily return
- 15:33on your heads what you have done for you took my silver and my
- 15:37gold and carried off my finest treasures to your temples.
- 15:41You sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks that
- 15:46that you might send them far behind, far from their homeland.
- 15:51See, I am going to rouse them out of the places to which you
- 15:56have sold them, and I will return on your heads what you
- 16:00have done. I will sell your sons and
- 16:02daughters to the people of Judah and they will sell them to the
- 16:06Sabians, a nation far away. The Sabians were believed to be
- 16:13Nubians, I believe from near Sudan.
- 16:17That's that's the history of those.
- 16:20So that's just another interesting point.
- 16:23The Lord has spoken. Proclaim this among the nations.
- 16:27Prepare for war. Rouse the warriors.
- 16:30Let all the fighting men draw near an attack.
- 16:33Beat your plowshares into swords and you're pointing hooks into
- 16:36Spears. Let the weakling say I am
- 16:38strong. Come quickly, all you nations
- 16:41from every side, and assemble there.
- 16:44Bring down your warriors, Lord, let the nations be roused.
- 16:48Let them advance into the Valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will
- 16:53sit to judge all the nations on every side.
- 16:57So isn't that interesting? It's called the Valley of
- 16:59Jehoshaphat. It's called the Valley of
- 17:01Decision, and Isaiah calls it the value, the Valley of vision.
- 17:08OK, Joel 313 says swing the sickle for the harvest is ripe.
- 17:14Come trample the grapes, for the winepress is full and the bats
- 17:19overflow, so great is their wickedness.
- 17:22Now this compares to the Book of Revelation where Jesus is on the
- 17:27cloud and there's multiple angels.
- 17:30Jesus harvests the land and then another Angel comes with another
- 17:36sickle and harvest and then these go into the winepress.
- 17:39So there's like some are some are taken and then some are put
- 17:44into the winepress are the wrath of God.
- 17:47And it's it's not a very pleasant picture.
- 17:51So Joel 314 says multitudes, multitudes in the valley of
- 17:54decision for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of
- 17:58decision. Then here's another detail.
- 18:00The sun and the moon will be darkened and the stars will no
- 18:03longer shine. We know from many, many, many
- 18:07verses about the day of the Lord, the sun and the moon will
- 18:10be darkened. And some of them say the sun
- 18:12will be darkened and the moon will be turned to blood and the
- 18:14stars will no longer shine, or the stars will fall from the
- 18:17sky. Those details are given almost
- 18:21in every scenario with the return of Jesus.
- 18:24And and then it's interesting also because that seems to be
- 18:31the, you know, I wonder if that is also the point in the
- 18:34Revelation where in the Book of Revelation, where the Dragon's
- 18:38tail with the dragon is Satan, his tail sweeps 1/3 of the
- 18:42angels, the 1/3 of the stars, and brings them down to the
- 18:46earth. And stars are also angels, but
- 18:50those are disobedient angels. Those are symbolic in
- 18:54Revelation. The stars are angels or
- 18:56messengers. And so does all this, all of
- 18:59this happen at the same time? And we also see like an Angel,
- 19:04We'll, we'll even get to that about an Angel or a messenger
- 19:08coming down with the keys to Hades and opens up this
- 19:11bottomless pit. So do all these things happen at
- 19:14one time? It's the descriptions are pretty
- 19:18interesting. They're very consistent about
- 19:20these things. The Lord will roar from Zion and
- 19:24Thunder from Jerusalem. The earth and the heavens will
- 19:27tremble. It says another scripture that
- 19:31the Lord's going to shake the heavens and the earth once again
- 19:35and that everything that is meant to be shaken will fall.
- 19:39But then there will be, you know, the some will stand
- 19:42strong, OK, but the Lord will be a refuge for his people, a
- 19:47stronghold for the people of Israel.
- 19:50So God never, you know, if there's some people that are
- 19:52faithful to God, he will be a refuge for those people.
- 19:56He delivers his people, his faithful people.
- 20:00He continually does. We see that throughout history
- 20:03where he delivers these people, his faithful ones.
- 20:07So that was what the prophet Joel said.
- 20:12And so in Isaiah it says like the Lord the Lord Almighty has a
- 20:18day of tumult and trampling and terror in the valley of vision.
- 20:24So again, this is that is verse 5.
- 20:28And then in verse 12, it says the Lord, the Lord Almighty
- 20:32called you on that day to weep and wail, but it's like joy and
- 20:37all these other things that are going on.
- 20:39And that makes me think about it will be just as it was in the
- 20:44days of Noah where people were marrying and, you know, being
- 20:48given in marriage and marriage, you know, and everybody is just
- 20:52going about life is normal when Jesus returns.
- 20:56But there's all this, you know, this revelry that nobody
- 21:02refrained from, nobody cares. Their eyes aren't on God.
- 21:06And and we can learn from that too.
- 21:08Like we it says often it says don't get, I don't know the
- 21:13exact words of it, but don't get caught up in carousing and
- 21:19drunkenness as the day of the Lord approaches or you will, it
- 21:24will come on you like a thief, something like that.
- 21:27I can't remember that scripture, but you know, you can just feel
- 21:31like it's a it's been a long time and you don't want to put
- 21:36your guard down because if Jesus returns at that point, you don't
- 21:41want to be an enemy to him. You don't want to be like what
- 21:45they're talking about here. In fact, where it says, let us
- 21:48eat and drink, you say, for tomorrow we will die.
- 21:51There are a lot of people that have that attitude.
- 21:53And that's like the Yolo. You only live once.
- 21:56And it's very short sighted because we don't just we, we do,
- 22:01we just have one life, but it's eternal.
- 22:05And So what we do, what we decide to do every day does
- 22:10matter how we, whatever we're doing at the time Jesus returns
- 22:16or at the time of our death is going to have eternal
- 22:19implications on us. And and so it's so important to
- 22:24have our relationship right with God and you know, every day
- 22:30focus on it and let God guide, let God lead you in what he
- 22:35wants you to do for the day. Because we don't know how much
- 22:39time we have, but there's just so many things that are seem to
- 22:43be happening in the Middle East that seem to be aligning with
- 22:48prophecy. And, you know, it could like
- 22:51ramp up right now. Supposedly we are in a Jubilee
- 22:54year at the moment. So that would be like another 50
- 22:58years according to the Dead Sea Scrolls.
- 23:00There would be like another, I think 5049 or 50 years before
- 23:04the year 6000. And everybody pretty much
- 23:09Christians and Jews believe that we have 6000 years to to
- 23:16basically live on this earth before Jesus returns.
- 23:19And there's the calendars have been messed with and redone.
- 23:24So everybody's got different interpretations of where we are
- 23:28relative to that 6000 year mark. The the Jewish people believe we
- 23:34have like a couple 100 more years.
- 23:37But there was this Jewish sect of people that called the
- 23:41Essenes that had the Dead Sea Scrolls.
- 23:45And they are the ones who had a calendar from ancient times ago
- 23:50that were found, I guess in that the Dead Sea Scrolls in the 19,
- 23:54mid 1900s. Those were found in some caves.
- 23:58And this calendar that they had indicates that we have this 49
- 24:02or 50 years. And then we have modern people.
- 24:05If you look at something on YouTube, Messiah 2030, that's
- 24:09predicting that Jesus will return in 2030 based on
- 24:14mathematical calculations and things in the Bible that are
- 24:18symbolic. And they make a lot of great
- 24:21points like it's, it's very believable.
- 24:25But again, you know, everybody, these are these are I guess
- 24:30that's a theory, but it would certainly indicate, you know,
- 24:35that's only a few years from now, four years from now.
- 24:39And so it would be really important that you're prepared
- 24:44if it is 4 years from now or maybe it's 50 years from now or
- 24:48maybe it's a couple 100 years from now, but whatever, it
- 24:51doesn't matter. You don't like wait until the
- 24:53last minute to be prepared because it says you will be
- 24:57caught like a thief. It'll be like a thief.
- 24:59Like a thief comes when you're not expecting and your death
- 25:03could come when you're not expecting.
- 25:06Jesus could return when you're not expecting.
- 25:08So it's not a matter of saying how long can I live in rebellion
- 25:12to God. It's a matter of, you know, I
- 25:14need to think about this. I need to commit to God if I
- 25:16want to be in God's Kingdom for eternity.
- 25:19Then, you know, we communicate with God.
- 25:24Ask God to show you what needs to be done.
- 25:26I mean it, it's clear in the Bible what needs to be done,
- 25:29that we need to ask for forgiveness.
- 25:31Then turn away from the things that we were doing that God
- 25:34doesn't agree with and ask God for the Holy Spirit to help us
- 25:39not do those things anymore. And the Holy Spirit will change
- 25:42us. Certainly we have to believe
- 25:46that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead.
- 25:51And if we don't believe that, we can read Scripture and learn
- 25:54about it because faith comes by hearing the Word.
- 25:57So that's the process to be an eternity.
- 26:00That's all you need to do is ask for forgiveness, ask for the
- 26:05Holy Spirit and be honest and sincere about wanting to change
- 26:10and live the way that God wants you to live.
- 26:12Do what? Let God actually literally be
- 26:15your Lord. Let him be your guider.
- 26:18Like let him guide you. Don't rely on anything else.
- 26:20Just rely on God for everything. So anyway, it talks, you know,
- 26:27in Isaiah it talks about the leaders fleeing and it talks
- 26:33about people being captured. You know, this, this could be
- 26:35any point in time of prophecy or war or something.
- 26:39It's very common when Isaiah is talking to Judah about this
- 26:45prophecy. What throws me off is that Judah
- 26:49was conquered by the Babylonians.
- 26:53Israel was initially conquered by the Assyrians and then Judah.
- 27:00So it was the Babylonians and the Assyrians that you would
- 27:04think if he's talking about this, well, yeah, if he's
- 27:09talking about this, I want to go back to the dates of these
- 27:11things. So the exile of Israel was in
- 27:16722. So the Assyrians captured them
- 27:19by that point. And that's what Isaiah is
- 27:21writing this now. So he wouldn't really be talking
- 27:25about that. He would be talking to Judah
- 27:28because they the fall of Jerusalem was in 586 BC and
- 27:33that's when the Babylonians captured them.
- 27:35So he would be talking to Judah about Babylon, which we did see
- 27:42earlier. You know, there was a prophecy
- 27:45about Babylon. But what's weird to me is that
- 27:48he in verse 6 and well, verse 6, he talks about Elam.
- 27:54Well, Elam is southern Iran. Elam takes up the quiver with
- 28:01her charioteers and horses. Kerr uncovers the shield.
- 28:07And that would be Kerr is also in modern Iran.
- 28:11So why is if he's talking about this Assyrian or Babylonian
- 28:18capture, why is he bringing up Iran in it?
- 28:25But today in 2025, who do you think?
- 28:28I mean, who probably hates Israel the most?
- 28:32Who wants to to destroy Israel the most?
- 28:35In fact, not only Israel, but I have heard that Iran refers to
- 28:42the United States as big Satan and Israel as Little Satan.
- 28:47So Iran is doesn't like the US or doesn't like Israel.
- 28:54And so so I find it very interesting that I, this I
- 28:58prophecy about Isaiah is referring to Iran and not
- 29:02necessarily Babylon. So that's why I think it's this
- 29:08end times, because it says and it says the Lord, the Lord
- 29:12Almighty, has a day of tumult and trampling and terror in the
- 29:17Valley of vision, a day of battering down walls and crying
- 29:22out to the mountains. Elam takes up the quiver with
- 29:26her charioteers and horses. Kerr uncovers the shield.
- 29:31Your choicest valleys are full of Chariots and horsemen are
- 29:35posted at the city gates. So this sounds like an attack.
- 29:39And this is a prophecy about Jerusalem.
- 29:42So to me it it's like Iran attacking Israel and what what's
- 29:49been going on lately? I mean, that's where it seems
- 29:51like a lot of this activity has been happening.
- 29:54In fact, it's some of Iran's proxies that have been coming
- 29:58against Israel, like the Houthis, Hamas, and and then the
- 30:06third one, which I can't recall at the moment, but they have
- 30:11others who are going against them and obviously they have
- 30:14actually sent stuff. So there was a brief battle.
- 30:17I think it might have been 12 days long between Israel and
- 30:20Iran before it settled down. But again, Isaiah says has a day
- 30:28and then he says on that day. So I searched the day of the
- 30:32Lord to find out where it's written and it occurs.
- 30:39Well, the exact phrase, the exact matches, there are 24
- 30:44exact phrases in the new international version.
- 30:48So Isaiah 13, six says, well for the day of the Lord is near, it
- 30:53will come like destruction from the Almighty.
- 30:58And then it says, see, I'm just going to read all these verses.
- 31:01See the day of the Lord is coming, a cruel day with wrath
- 31:06and fierce anger to make the land desolate and destroy the
- 31:11sinners within it. Now when Jesus came, He came to
- 31:15save the sinners, but when he returns, it's going to be to
- 31:20destroy the sinners. There is going to be essentially
- 31:24a purification of the land before eternity because sinners
- 31:28can't go into God's Kingdom. So you can't currently be
- 31:31sinning and going into God's Kingdom.
- 31:34You need to repent of that and the Holy Spirit will help you
- 31:37with that. OK, so you have not gone up to
- 31:41the breaches in the wall to repair it for the people of
- 31:44Israel so that it will stand firm in the battle on the day of
- 31:47the Lord. That's in Ezekiel.
- 31:50Ezekiel says for the day is near, the day of the Lord is
- 31:53near, a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations.
- 31:59And then Joel says, alas for that day, for the day of the
- 32:03Lord is near, it will come like destruction from the Almighty.
- 32:07So twice both Isaiah and Joel say this is coming from the
- 32:12Almighty. So this is, this is wrath from
- 32:15God coming. Joel says, Blow the trumpet in
- 32:18Zion, sound the alarm on my holy hill.
- 32:22Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the Lord
- 32:27is coming. It is close at hand.
- 32:31The Lord thunders at the head of his army.
- 32:34His forces are beyond number, and mighty is the army that
- 32:39obeys his command. The day of the Lord is great, it
- 32:43is dreadful. Who can endure it?
- 32:47The sun will be, the sun will be turned to darkness and the moon
- 32:51to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of
- 32:57the Lord. So great and dreadful.
- 32:59That's just gives me another thought as I read that.
- 33:01It's going to be great for those who are reconciled with God, but
- 33:06it's going to be dreadful for those who are rebellious to God.
- 33:11Joel 313 We read before, but multitudes, multitudes in the
- 33:15valley of decision, for the day of the Lord is near.
- 33:18In the valley of decision. Amos, the prophet says, Woe to
- 33:22you who long for the day of the Lord.
- 33:24Why do you long for the day of the Lord?
- 33:26That day will be darkness, not light.
- 33:29Amos says, Will not the day of the Lord be darkness, not light,
- 33:33pitch dark without a ray of brightness.
- 33:37This is really interesting because I have to say that I
- 33:40this is the first time I read that line or it that it stood
- 33:44out to me. And because I had when, gosh,
- 33:52when the night of my baptism, I started having dreams, dreams
- 33:57with the name of Jesus in it. And I've had 70 something of
- 34:01those dreams and they've paused for a little bit.
- 34:04I haven't had anything for any dreams like that, maybe for the
- 34:08last month. But in my dreams, I did have a
- 34:12dream of being gathered to the Lord.
- 34:16I actually had three of those dreams.
- 34:19And the one thing that was consistent in every one of those
- 34:23dreams is that it turned pitch dark where you couldn't even see
- 34:28your hand in front of your face right before.
- 34:31And honestly, the more I think about it, it, you know, I wonder
- 34:35if you know, it's, there's like, if that's what death is like
- 34:38actually where you actually just, you know, it goes pitch
- 34:42dark. But then all of a sudden, you
- 34:44know, well, I know in my first dream, I didn't, I didn't
- 34:48actually die. It just it, it went completely
- 34:51dark and then I, I light started coming from the clouds and they
- 34:57were like floating over this water.
- 34:59And I realized that it was the gathering of people, the rapture
- 35:03that people call the resurrection.
- 35:05If you want to call, call that, call it that.
- 35:08So this was yeah. So anyway, this reading this
- 35:14verse right now, will not the day of the Lord be darkness, not
- 35:17light, pitch dark without a ray of brightness.
- 35:21I don't know if my dream was symbolic, if this was symbolic,
- 35:25or if that's going to be a literal event.
- 35:28But I all I can say is I had three dreams that were like that
- 35:31about the gathering. And in each dream, before I
- 35:34started rising up, it went pitch black and it startled me.
- 35:39It scared me. But then in my second dream, I
- 35:42was telling somebody, I was like, oh, don't worry about it
- 35:44because the rapture comes next. Like the gathering of people
- 35:47comes next. Like don't worry when it goes
- 35:49pitch dark. So just very interesting on
- 35:52those dreams. Anyway, we'll go back to
- 35:54Scripture. Obadiah says the day of the Lord
- 35:57is near for all nations. Have you as you have done, It
- 36:01will be done to you. Your deeds will return upon your
- 36:05head. Zephaniah chapter 1 says be
- 36:10silent before the sovereign Lord for the day of the Lord is near.
- 36:13The Lord has prepared a sacrifice.
- 36:15He has consecrated those he has invited.
- 36:19So think about this. He has consecrated.
- 36:24Isn't that to make holy and that's what the Holy Spirit does
- 36:28to us. So I don't know or or it could
- 36:32be, you know the ones because some will actually outcomes
- 36:36people had got his purposes for a different people and we don't
- 36:42all have the same purpose. And so it's important to know
- 36:45what God's purpose is for each of us and to be obedient to that
- 36:49to serve God in that way. So Zephaniah chapter 1 also says
- 36:54the great day of the Lord is near near and coming quickly.
- 36:58The cry on the day of the Lord is bitter.
- 37:01The mighty warrior shouts his battle cry yell.
- 37:06Zachariah says a day of the Lord is coming, Jerusalem, when your
- 37:10possessions will be plundered and divided up within your very
- 37:15walls. That's interesting.
- 37:17Just thinking about will the division of Jerusalem happen?
- 37:22I don't know. We'll find out because that
- 37:24hasn't happened yet. Matthew or Malachi says, see, I
- 37:28will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and
- 37:32dreadful day of the Lord comes. Jesus confirmed that and he said
- 37:37the spirit of Elijah came with John the Baptist.
- 37:41So that's already happened. That prophecy has been fulfilled
- 37:45and then in Acts chapter 2 it says the sun will be will be
- 37:49turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of
- 37:52the great and glorious day of the Lord.
- 37:54I believe that is a repetition of what Amos the prophet said
- 37:58and so this. Is kind.
- 38:02Of interesting this has to do with First Corinthians chapter 5
- 38:08verse 5. So this is talking about a
- 38:10backslider, a person. That's what they call when
- 38:14somebody who commits to the Lord but then starts sinning again or
- 38:19continues sinning and isn't fully turned to the Lord.
- 38:23It, this is what it says, hand this man over to Satan for the
- 38:29destruction of the flesh so that his spirit may be saved on the
- 38:35day of the Lord. Now I, I don't believe that that
- 38:42once saved, always saved theory. I believe that God will never
- 38:49turn away from us, but I believe that people can and do all of a
- 38:55sudden, for whatever reason, I don't know why, but they decide
- 38:59they no longer want to follow God and they they kind of
- 39:03renounce that they're they're just done with that.
- 39:06And so reading this verse does make me wonder if if God still
- 39:14is hanging on to that person. It says so that his spirit, it
- 39:19doesn't say will be saved. It says may be saved on the day
- 39:23of the Lord. So often God will.
- 39:26God does let people go, undergo horrible circumstances to get
- 39:34them to turn to him. So if somebody's kind of
- 39:38rebellious, but maybe they gave their life to God at one point
- 39:41and they're just rebelling and they're doing, they're sinning,
- 39:45you know, deliberately, not accidentally, but just doing
- 39:49whatever they want. And they may believe in the once
- 39:53saved, always saved thing. And that's why they do it.
- 39:55They're like, I'm good, I've already given my life to Christ.
- 39:57Well, it really means making him Lord over your life so that
- 40:01you're not being rebellious to him.
- 40:03I mean, it's just this doctrine is, I think, very harmful that
- 40:07churches teach. But.
- 40:10But not to say that God doesn't always love us and God always
- 40:14wants us to turn back to Him. But there is other scripture
- 40:17that says if you keep on sinning then all you can really expect
- 40:22is judgement for that. So there isn't this supernatural
- 40:28protection over your life if you just keep on sinning and
- 40:32rebelling against God. However, this verse here says
- 40:36hand this man over to Satan. So if somebody's turned away
- 40:40from God, they're turning towards Satan and and basically
- 40:43let Satan destroy the flesh, let Satan destroy the body.
- 40:48And that does happen to people when they are turned over
- 40:50because that's what Satan wants to do.
- 40:52Satan is he doesn't like humans. He wants to destroy, to kill and
- 40:56destroy. That's what he comes for.
- 40:58And so when people continue to sin, that's what you're kind of
- 41:03have this open door. You have a relationship with
- 41:05Satan rather than with God. And so this is talking about
- 41:09somebody who was in the church, and it says hand this man over
- 41:13to Satan for the destructionless flesh, like God's going to let
- 41:16Satan destroy his flesh, probably in the hopes that that
- 41:19person will turn to him. It says so that his spirit may
- 41:23be, may be may be saved on the day of the Lord.
- 41:28So God is compassionate, merciful and so forth.
- 41:31We can only hope and pray for people while they are still
- 41:34living that God may do that for others.
- 41:37You know that we know and love maybe that are not living the
- 41:41life that we know God wants us to live, because, you know, this
- 41:47is this is the choice that somebody makes, but God lets us
- 41:50make those choices. And so there is maybe hope.
- 41:55But again, it doesn't say that they will be saved.
- 41:58It says they may be saved on the day of the Lord.
- 42:02So then in Second Corinthians chapter 1, it says, as you have
- 42:07understood us in part, you will come to understand fully that
- 42:11you can boast of us just as we boast of you in the day of the
- 42:14Lord Jesus. So at that time is when
- 42:18everybody will be anyone who's dead, who is in Christ, who is a
- 42:22believer, will be raised at that point when Jesus returns and be
- 42:26given their new immortal bodies. So we're going to be like in the
- 42:32presence of people from the Old Testament who you know, from all
- 42:36the time in the past. I don't know who the people were
- 42:41that were the graves opened up when Jesus was, when Jesus died
- 42:46on the cross and the graves opened up and people were seen
- 42:48walking around Jerusalem from the graves.
- 42:51There's not a lot written about it, which is wild.
- 42:53I don't know if there was, but then people took it out.
- 42:58I don't know, but it's very interesting.
- 43:01And and I don't know who those people were.
- 43:03It doesn't really say what happened to them afterwards.
- 43:05Did they go back into the grave? Did they rise up to the sky?
- 43:09There's nothing that's talked about.
- 43:11So we don't really know. OK.
- 43:14And then First Thessalonians says, for you know very well
- 43:18that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night,
- 43:21so people won't be expecting it not to become.
- 43:25And then another verse he says not to become easily unsettled
- 43:29or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us, whether by a
- 43:33prophecy or a word of mouth or letter asserting the day of the
- 43:36Lord has already come. Some people were saying the day
- 43:39of the Lord has already come, maybe because those people were
- 43:43seen in Jerusalem and they were walking around.
- 43:46But Paul was saying, no, that hasn't happened yet.
- 43:49And then second Peter, Peter says, but the day of the Lord
- 43:53will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with
- 43:57a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth
- 44:02and everything done in it will be laid bare.
- 44:05So that's when judgment comes upon.
- 44:08There is going to be fire, there is going to be destruction.
- 44:11That's what happens when Jesus returns the second time.
- 44:16He gathers the people who are prepared and the people who
- 44:19rebelled against him, who didn't want him, who wanted to continue
- 44:23to live in sin. They will be subject to God's
- 44:26wrath and. So.
- 44:30Those are just all of the references that I searched the
- 44:33day of the Lord. And then again in the book of
- 44:38Isaiah where it talks about the Lord, the Lord Almighty has a
- 44:41day of tumult and trampling and terror in the valley of vision.
- 44:46So the trampling, I knew that there's something in the Bible
- 44:49about trampling. So it's I searched that word and
- 44:53I'm going to read those verses. So Isaiah, there are two from
- 44:56Isaiah, 2 from Daniel, one from Zechariah and one from Luke.
- 45:00So Isaiah says, when you come to appear before me, who has asked
- 45:05this of you, this trampling of my courts?
- 45:09The Lord, the Lord Almighty has a day of tumult and trampling
- 45:12and the terror in the valley of vision, a day of battering down
- 45:16walls and crying out to the mountains.
- 45:19Now we'll go into the book of Daniel, which we haven't read
- 45:22yet. In the podcast he gave me this
- 45:26explanation. The 4th beast is 1/4 Kingdom
- 45:31that will appear on the earth. It will be different from all
- 45:36the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth,
- 45:41trampling it down and crushing it.
- 45:44So this is that grouping of seven different rulers who form
- 45:51the beast and they're going to take over the governance of the
- 45:58whole earth at some point. And this is the last Kingdom.
- 46:02A lot of people feel like that is, you know, everybody, I guess
- 46:05every throughout the years, everybody's always saying, oh,
- 46:08this is becoming one world government.
- 46:10So that does continue. People keep saying that in the
- 46:15book of Daniel chapter 8, it said, I heard.
- 46:18Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one
- 46:22said to him, How long will it take for the vision to be
- 46:26fulfilled? The vision concerning the daily
- 46:29sacrifice, the rebellion that causes desolation, the surrender
- 46:35of the sanctuary, and the trampling under foot of the
- 46:40Lord's people. So again, this is another thing
- 46:43that is considered the end times when it's talking about God's
- 46:48holy mountain, Jerusalem being trampled.
- 46:55Zechariah. Says together they they will be
- 46:59like warriors in battle, trampling their enemy into the
- 47:02mud of the streets. They will fight because the Lord
- 47:04is with them and they will put the enemy horsemen to shame.
- 47:09So I didn't look back at that to see when this was.
- 47:15Yeah, this is another End Time 1.
- 47:17Because in Zechariah 10, verse 11, they will pass through the
- 47:20sea of trouble. The surging sea will be subdued,
- 47:23and all the depths of the Nile will be dried up.
- 47:27A serious pride will be brought down, and Egypt's scepter will
- 47:30pass away. I will strengthen them in the
- 47:33Lord and in His name they will live securely.
- 47:36Well, people are not living securely today, so this is
- 47:41definitely a future prophecy from the book of it says the
- 47:46Lord will care for Judah. So that's a whole nother.
- 47:50We're going to get into all these prophetic books that we
- 47:52haven't yet done, but so that's another end time kind of
- 47:57prophecy. Luke 12 verse one.
- 48:00Meanwhile, when a crowd of many thousands had gathered so that
- 48:02they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak
- 48:05first to his disciples saying be on your guard against the yeast
- 48:09of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
- 48:12Now that one doesn't really, you know, it's just talking about
- 48:16people being crowded. It doesn't have anything to do
- 48:18with the end times. But then again, it, it does in a
- 48:22sense stretching it because be on your guard against the yeast
- 48:27of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
- 48:31That is really important because hypocrisy living, you know,
- 48:35calling ourselves Christians, believers, followers of Christ,
- 48:39but not living that way. That's a hypocrite.
- 48:42If you're going to say you're a Christian, that means that
- 48:44you're following what Jesus taught that like that is your
- 48:48guide. God is your guide.
- 48:50You are submitted to him. You've surrendered your life to
- 48:54him. You're not going to be
- 48:55disobedient and be rebellious towards him.
- 48:59So that's what the Pharisees did.
- 49:01The Pharisees on the outside, they look like they were
- 49:05righteous, but on the inside, what they were actually doing
- 49:08towards others was not righteous.
- 49:11And Christians can be the same way.
- 49:13And that is a call that God is, that Jesus is, you know, telling
- 49:19his disciples, those who listen to him, be on your guard against
- 49:23the east of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
- 49:27So we don't want to be hypocrites if we are saying that
- 49:31we are disciples or people who learn from Jesus.
- 49:34We can't act in a way that Jesus doesn't condone.
- 49:38There's a lot of people that call themselves Christians and
- 49:41act completely opposite or against the Bible, maybe because
- 49:45they haven't even read the Bible.
- 49:47But once you read the Bible, you you realize the things that God
- 49:52says are OK and the things that he says are not.
- 49:56And you can't really call your you can call yourself a
- 50:00Christian, but you aren't really.
- 50:02And you might have this false sense of salvation because you
- 50:05haven't surrendered to Jesus. You haven't made him the Lord of
- 50:11your life because Jesus has been given all the authority.
- 50:14In fact, this is wild that I just said that because the very
- 50:17next part of Scripture was it's about authority on earth.
- 50:22And it's so in Matthew chapter 28 verse 18.
- 50:26Then Jesus came and said to them.
- 50:29Jesus came to them and said all authority in heaven and on earth
- 50:35has been given to me. And then Luke documents this
- 50:39too. And he said, and he said to him,
- 50:42I give you all their authority and splendor.
- 50:46It has been given to me and I can give it to anyone I want to.
- 50:51So this is I believe this is Jesus talking to his disciples,
- 50:56but I want to. Oh no, this is Jesus.
- 51:02Being tested in the wilderness. I'm sorry, this is what this is
- 51:07Satan actually talking to Jesus. See, this is what Jesus did on
- 51:13the cross. He defeated Satan.
- 51:15He's been given all the authority.
- 51:17Satan had the authority for a certain amount of time.
- 51:21And when Jesus got baptized, he went into the wilderness and
- 51:26Satan tempted him and. Jesus responded.
- 51:32With scripture, he kind of kept his strategy hidden because if
- 51:39if Satan had known Jesus's strategy, then Jesus would not
- 51:45have been put to death because by Jesus death on the cross, he
- 51:50became the sacrifice that enabled all humankind, all
- 51:55humans to be in God's Kingdom because he was the blood
- 51:58sacrifice, the substitute sacrifice.
- 52:01Like Satan was really probably felt like he had the upper hand,
- 52:05like he was, you know, making all these people get separated
- 52:10from God. And he didn't know what Jesus
- 52:14had up his sleeve. If you want to say that where he
- 52:17was planning this out. Like he knew he was going to die
- 52:20on the cross. He knew he was going to be the
- 52:21sacrifice because he saw how people were unable to be, you
- 52:29know, honor God's commandments. The Israelites, you know, they
- 52:32would say, Oh yes, we promise we're going to do this.
- 52:35And then it would be like 2 seconds later, they're breaking
- 52:38all the commandments. And this happened over and over
- 52:41and over. And so God, that's why God sent
- 52:43Jesus here because that was what was needed to abide within the
- 52:49law. And Jesus had to be that
- 52:51sacrifice for all of us. So at this point in time, Jesus
- 52:56had gotten baptized and received the Holy Spirit.
- 53:00And then as soon as that happened, he started getting
- 53:02tempted by Satan and, and even, you know, like he's saying, I
- 53:07can give it to anyone I want. And so he's trying to get Jesus
- 53:12to submit. Satan was trying to get Jesus to
- 53:15submit to him and Jesus responds to him.
- 53:17It's written worship the Lord your God and serve him only.
- 53:21So he's trying to trade off. And in fact, a lot of people do
- 53:24say that Satan, you know, has promised.
- 53:26I mean, some people get into this occult stuff in a serious
- 53:29way and do believe that they get these like powers, fame, glory
- 53:35and all these things. But there's a trade off.
- 53:39Like they, you know, they talk about like traded their soul for
- 53:42something. So it's a, it's a real thing.
- 53:45The spiritual world is real. And anyway, I'm sorry that I
- 53:50didn't have that looked at much, but Matthew 28, this is where
- 53:56Jesus says so. It was the Great Commission
- 54:00then. The 11 disciples went to
- 54:02Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.
- 54:05When they saw him, they worshipped him, but some
- 54:08doubted. Then Jesus came to them and
- 54:11said, This is after his death. Remember, all authority in
- 54:14heaven and on earth has been given to me.
- 54:17Therefore go and make disciples of nations, baptizing them in
- 54:22the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
- 54:27and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you,
- 54:32and surely I. Am with you always.
- 54:37To the very end of the age, that's that understood to be
- 54:41that end of that 6000 year mark. So yeah, this is, you know,
- 54:48Jesus said obey everything I have commanded to you.
- 54:51So when people say, oh, we don't have to obey, that's being
- 54:54legalistic. Well, why does Jesus say obey
- 54:59everything? Teach people to obey everything
- 55:02I've commanded you. So there's yeah, there's some
- 55:06like bad stuff that's gotten into our churches that is taking
- 55:10people away from the truth. And don't do the whole thing.
- 55:16You you only live once thing because we do live once.
- 55:20We only live once, but it's eternal.
- 55:22So what we do matters so. Let's see the next.
- 55:26Thing that I was going to talk about was this verse 20 in
- 55:32Isaiah that goes all the way through 25, which is so amazing
- 55:36because I believe this is actually Jesus that it's talking
- 55:41about as a symbolic of Jesus, and I'll tell you why.
- 55:46So this is interesting. I'll just read this so it's
- 55:49fresh in your mind, and then I'll go to the other Scriptures.
- 55:52So here's what Isaiah says, verse 20.
- 55:55In that day I will summon my servant Eliakim, son of Heliaka.
- 56:01I will clothe him with your robe and fasten your sash around him
- 56:06and hand your authority over to him.
- 56:10So again, this is like symbolic where the authority was given to
- 56:14Jesus. He will be a father to those who
- 56:19live in Jerusalem and to the people of Judah.
- 56:22Well, this is like a familial relationship that everyone has
- 56:25with Jesus. Ultimately, we will be his
- 56:28brothers and sisters and God will be our father.
- 56:32And then it says, I will place on his shoulder the key to the
- 56:37House of David. What He opens, no one can shut,
- 56:41and what he shuts, no one can open.
- 56:45Now that's really interesting because that's what it talks
- 56:48about in Revelation chapter 3, verse 7, and also maybe verse 20
- 56:56or chapter 20. So we'll get into that too.
- 57:00I will drive him like a pig. Jesus is compared to a pig and
- 57:06he's it's also talked about in Zechariah, another prophet in
- 57:10verse 10, our chapter 10, verse 4, into a firm place.
- 57:15He will become a seat of honour for the House of his Father.
- 57:21Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father.
- 57:24All the glory of his family will hang on him, its offsprings and
- 57:29offshoots, all its lesser's vessels, from the bowls to all
- 57:33the jars. So all the glory, all the glory
- 57:37is to Jesus for what He's done in that day, declares the Lord
- 57:43Almighty. The peg driven into the firm
- 57:46place will give way. It will be sheared off and will
- 57:50fall, and the load hanging on it will be cut down.
- 57:54The Lord has spoken. Now when I read that, I was
- 57:57trying to reconcile, like what? How does that fit into place?
- 58:00But the peg driven into the firm place will give way.
- 58:05Does that mean when Jesus was crucified on the cross, it will
- 58:08be sheared off and fall like, like all of our sins?
- 58:13The weight of all of the burden of everything will come off
- 58:17because, you know, and the load hanging on it will be cut down.
- 58:21Like that's what Jesus did by his death on the cross.
- 58:24That's what came to mind when I read that.
- 58:27So I thought that this whole from 20 all the way down, you
- 58:30know, maybe it does, you know, refer to Eliah Kim, but it's
- 58:34very, very symbolic of Jesus. Like immediately I was like,
- 58:38this is Jesus, but it's talking about Eliah Kim and how does
- 58:41that work? So this was really wild.
- 58:45So then I had to search Eliah Kim because I wanted to know
- 58:48more about him. And and then I find that Eliakim
- 58:54is an ancestor of Jesus in Matthew chapter one verse 13 and
- 59:01Luke chapter 3130 or I'm sorry, Luke chapter 3 verses 30 through
- 59:0931, Jesus has an ancestor named Eliakim.
- 59:14And I thought, wow, OK, so this really sounds like Jesus this is
- 59:19talking about cause a lot of times prophecy does that where
- 59:23it'll, you know, it'll say David when it'll mean a descendant of
- 59:26David or something like that. But here Eliakim is in Jesus's
- 59:34ancestral line in both Matthew and Luke.
- 59:38And I thought, well, why didn't this study Bible say that?
- 59:41Because you know, this is this is significant because this is
- 59:46very symbolic of Jesus and Eliah Kim.
- 59:49Why isn't this talked about? But then when I dug deeper, I
- 59:53saw that in Matthew and Luke, Eliah Kim, his father, Eliah
- 1:00:01Kim's father is somebody different in those two things in
- 1:00:06those two verses. But if you look up Eliah Kim,
- 1:00:09there are only. I don't know there's, gosh,
- 1:00:19there are 18 verses with Eliah Kim and only two when you get to
- 1:00:29the New Testament where Eliah Kim is mentioned.
- 1:00:32And that is in the genealogy of Jesus.
- 1:00:35And so I, I looked up the different names because I was
- 1:00:42like, OK, this is confusing. Like if, if it would have been,
- 1:00:46that's probably why it's not in the study Bible, because it
- 1:00:49will, it will show, you know, certain names.
- 1:00:51One of them in, in Luke, Malia is the father of Ilia Kim.
- 1:01:00And then in Matthew Abin nude is the father of Ilia Kim.
- 1:01:10And so that, you know, it shows like two different ones.
- 1:01:14So I was like, OK, I know that the Bible is true and I know
- 1:01:19that the Bible is according to Second Timothy chapter 3, verse
- 1:01:2316, it's God breathed scripture. So I know it's true.
- 1:01:29But the question is, why are we not getting it?
- 1:01:32Like it's not telling us something that's not true.
- 1:01:36It's not contradicting. Whenever the Bible there appears
- 1:01:39to be a contradiction, this always seems to happen.
- 1:01:43We will eventually understand it.
- 1:01:46And you know how God changes names of people or people go by
- 1:01:51nicknames and things like that? That would make an that would
- 1:01:56make sense. Like again, this is a theory.
- 1:01:58I can't prove this or anything, but what if these people went by
- 1:02:03other names? And because that often happens
- 1:02:06in Scripture. But it's just interesting that
- 1:02:10Eliakim is only mentioned in the Bible as in the book from like
- 1:02:15Isaiah in these past times, like he was a person back then.
- 1:02:18But then it's mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus.
- 1:02:23And then to go through like I wanted to look at what is the,
- 1:02:27what do the names mean of the fathers of Eliakim?
- 1:02:32And it's really interesting because Melia, Melia, I guess
- 1:02:38MELEA means full or complete. And it also says it, my dear
- 1:02:45friend, object of call, object of care.
- 1:02:50And so I thought that was kind of interesting too, because
- 1:02:53these are, you know, that could really like full or complete the
- 1:02:57completeness of Jesus. I mean, there's just it's
- 1:03:00interesting and then Abihude is means glorious father, father of
- 1:03:07the Jews. Isn't that interesting because
- 1:03:11of Jesus being the son of God. So along the descendant line.
- 1:03:18And then I also looked up Hilkiah because Eliakim.
- 1:03:23Eliakim was the son of Hilkiah. And what does Hilkiah mean?
- 1:03:29It means Yahweh, God is my portion.
- 1:03:34So isn't that interesting? All these names, I mean, they're
- 1:03:36all like glorifying God. And I could see how this would
- 1:03:40all be within the lines of the genealogy of Jesus.
- 1:03:43And again, that's just my opinion, but I thought it was.
- 1:03:47There's just too many things in here that seem to speak about
- 1:03:52Jesus. Another part that I think talks
- 1:03:57about Jesus too is in Revelation chapter 3 verse 7 where it says
- 1:04:03to the Angel of the church in Philadelphia, right?
- 1:04:08These are the words of him who is holy and true.
- 1:04:12This is referring to Jesus who holds the key of David.
- 1:04:17What he opens, no one can shut, and what he shuts, no one can
- 1:04:22open. That's exactly what Isaiah said.
- 1:04:26So John sees this vision and he sees Jesus on the island of
- 1:04:32Patmos, and he writes this down. And Isaiah in seven hundreds BC
- 1:04:37writes the same thing. I will place on his shoulder the
- 1:04:42key to the House of David. What he opens, no one can shut,
- 1:04:45and what he shuts, no one can open.
- 1:04:48But when he's saying this, it's in context with talking about
- 1:04:52Eliakim, the son of Heilkai, and Heilkai is Yahweh.
- 1:04:58God is my portion. So and that's interesting.
- 1:05:02God is my portion. Like I don't know, that's just
- 1:05:06interesting why it would say those things.
- 1:05:11So then. It.
- 1:05:13Says in Revelation 20 verse one, it says and I saw an Angel
- 1:05:19coming down out of heaven, having the key to the abyss and
- 1:05:22holding in his hand a great chain.
- 1:05:26So I don't know that was that's certainly talking about an Angel
- 1:05:30coming down and not necessarily Jesus, but sometimes Jesus was
- 1:05:35referred to as an Angel. I think like when Abraham was
- 1:05:40going to sacrifice Isaac, I think that Angel was actually
- 1:05:45Jesus because that Angel said I am who am and that was a
- 1:05:50reference to being God. So I just, that's another theory
- 1:05:55that I have, but you can't prove it.
- 1:05:57It's just a thought that I have and maybe it's right, maybe it's
- 1:06:00not, but just interesting. And then when we talk about
- 1:06:06Jesus being the peg in Zechariah chapter 10 verse 4, it says from
- 1:06:12Judah will come the cornerstone. We know Jesus is called the
- 1:06:15cornerstone from him, the tent peg, from him, the battle bow
- 1:06:22from him every ruler. So this to me again, verses 20
- 1:06:29through the end of chapter 2322 seems to be talking about Jesus.
- 1:06:36And I also wanted to bring up a resource for people if you want
- 1:06:41to look into this deeper, because as I, as I mentioned,
- 1:06:45the two different genealogies, one in, in Matthew chapter 1 and
- 1:06:50then another one in Luke chapter 3, there are two genealogies of
- 1:06:54Jesus, but they and they have some differences.
- 1:06:59But biblical scholars have studied these things.
- 1:07:03So if you want to go to a website to dig deeper into that
- 1:07:06because it's way too complicated for me to explain, but it's, you
- 1:07:11can look into it this way. There's a website
- 1:07:13calledjewsforjesus.org and just search Are there 2 genealogies
- 1:07:21of Jesus? So they have a full article on
- 1:07:24that and another resource that I think is really good and will
- 1:07:29give lots of insight because we really need to know the new, the
- 1:07:34Old Testament. A lot of Christians will just
- 1:07:36say, oh, I'm just going to pay attention to the New Testament.
- 1:07:38You don't understand the New Testament unless you understand
- 1:07:42the Old Testament. And the way that we understand a
- 1:07:44lot of the traditions is by going to people who know the
- 1:07:49Jewish culture, because without knowing the Jewish culture,
- 1:07:53we're in the dark. We don't have any idea.
- 1:07:56So One for Israel is another great resource.
- 1:07:59They have a website, oneforisrael.org, that I would
- 1:08:03recommend if you want to study more on that.
- 1:08:06And I think that you know about God breathed Scripture, Second
- 1:08:13Timothy chapter 3, verse 16, all Scripture is God breathed and is
- 1:08:18useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in
- 1:08:23righteousness. So it's not meant to be a
- 1:08:27history book, but it's meant to teach, to rebuke, to tell us
- 1:08:32like what we're doing that we shouldn't be doing, for
- 1:08:35correcting us, to turn us to the right ways and for training us
- 1:08:40in righteousness. So that's the purpose of
- 1:08:43Scripture, as is stated by in. So that this OK so it says.
- 1:08:52So that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every
- 1:08:56work. So this is for people who choose
- 1:08:59to follow Jesus that that's what scripture.
- 1:09:04That's why we need to be in the word of God, because if we are
- 1:09:08going to call ourselves that, we are followers of Jesus.
- 1:09:10He knew all the scriptures and he taught from the scriptures.
- 1:09:15And he also said that I don't take a word away from this.
- 1:09:19Not one of my words will fail. Heaven and earth will fall away
- 1:09:22before one word that I've spoken ceases to exist.
- 1:09:26So all of these like things that are in the Bible and Jesus
- 1:09:31didn't come to change any of it. He came to fulfill prophecies
- 1:09:36that were written. The only thing that was a change
- 1:09:41is the covenant because Israel couldn't keep their end of the
- 1:09:48covenant that was made with the Lord.
- 1:09:50And so that's why Jesus came to make a new covenant.
- 1:09:55And the new covenant was the sacrifice of his life, his life
- 1:09:59that was given so that all could have, could possibly have the
- 1:10:05entrance into God's Kingdom through Jesus.
- 1:10:08Just like he said, I am the way, the truth and the life and no
- 1:10:11one comes to the Father except through me.
- 1:10:14That's what Jesus says, because it's by his death on the cross
- 1:10:18that makes us, makes it possible for us to get into God's
- 1:10:21Kingdom. So anyway, I think those are all
- 1:10:27the things that I was going to cover.
- 1:10:29There's a little bit more that I was going to cover, but I think
- 1:10:32that really goes down another path.
- 1:10:34So I am going to stop at this point because it's gotten long
- 1:10:40enough again. So that was chapter 22 and we
- 1:10:43will go into chapter 23 next time.
- 1:10:46Hope you join us. I really don't want to make
- 1:10:48these as long as they are, but there's so much to talk about
- 1:10:51and some of these prophecies that it does get long.
- 1:10:54So just stay in the word, read it and pray about it.
- 1:10:59Pray about any kind of insights and ask the Holy Spirit to
- 1:11:03reveal things because the Holy Spirit will, I believe so.
- 1:11:09Thanks for listening.
