- 0:00So here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. We finally got to the point where I've been waiting for okay, and that is the off-season talk. Okay. Finally, we get to the series that I've been waiting for you've been waiting for, we all have been waiting for my fellow football junkies.
- 0:18And that is to go over every single team in the NFL all 32 teams every single division
- 0:25Okay, so this is how we're gonna do it. Okay every week two divisions one aFC one NFC now
- 0:32They can flip flop in the order. Okay, so this week we're doing NFC first and in the second episode
- 0:37We're doing aFC. All right, and we're starting off with the NFC East
- 0:42Okay, so that is the commanders the cowboys the Giants and the Eagles
- 0:46Okay, now this one is a little bit different from everything else that I've done now usually, you know
- 0:52When I do these types of things, it's sort of like, you know, the the gut check times and but this is a little bit different
- 0:58The way that it's different is that we're going over draft picks positions of need your salary
- 1:05Free agents all those things and more. Okay, so we're going very in depth with every single team
- 1:12Where they are what they need to do and what can they do to be better if you know if they're not already better
- 1:19Okay, so you already know my spill you already know how things go because you know why this is the 68th episode of the football
- 1:26Junkies podcast. Okay, I am your host with the most. Okay, I am your GM who currently is not on a team right now
- 1:33But don't you worry about it. Okay. I am your chief bad road Domus. Okay anything and everything related to the bag
- 1:40Okay, you already know we get into my season. Okay, my favorite season back season because you already know those bag alerts
- 1:47Guess what they about to be coming out left and right. Okay, it's going to be like a old Oprah show
- 1:51Okay, you get a bag you get a bag you get a bag. We all get a bag. Okay
- 1:56But most importantly the most important thing is this I am your GM who knows
- 2:01The mock drafts who knows how to manipulate a draft in various ways. Okay, but guess what?
- 2:08I'm all these things and more but most importantly the most important thing that you must remember is I am your host
- 2:15Kale the man with the plan the man who has a few mock drafts in his back pocket
- 2:20Ready to release them to the public. But guess what?
- 2:24Well, I released them tonight or tomorrow who knows nobody cares about that because guess what it's the offseason
- 2:29Okay, and then next week we talking about the combine as well. Oh man, we are in our bag
- 2:34It does not stop. Okay, just because the regular season is over just because the confetti is over. Guess what the grind can
- 2:41I can't even speak. I'm so excited the grind still continues folks. So guess what one three one two three. Let's lock in
- 3:12Oh
- 3:14Right folks, let's just get into the meat and potatoes of everything that is going on in the league right now
- 3:21Okay, now normally I would talk about, you know, things are going on the league
- 3:26But there's really not a lot of stuff going on in the league right now
- 3:29I'm gonna be honest with you the only sort of like big news is T Higgins getting franchise tagged again
- 3:34And even then that's not really, you know, super big news because it was sort of expected
- 3:40The bangles are in the situation right now where you have to pay
- 3:44Three of your best players in two of those players you may have to reset the market for well
- 3:50No, one of them you're definitely gonna have to reset the market for okay
- 3:54You have to pay Jamar Chase T Higgins and Trey Hendrickson. How in the world are you gonna be able to do this?
- 4:02They put themselves in their sit in this situation folks because guess what had you pay Jamar Chase last year and
- 4:08Then he had the season that he had this year
- 4:11You would be fine because guess what?
- 4:14The deal has already been signed pictures have already been taken all those different types of things and more okay
- 4:19But because he had a triple crown season
- 4:22He's going to reset the the receiver market. He's going to get more than Justin Jefferson. I'm sorry now T Higgins
- 4:30There's a little bit of wiggle room with his type of deal
- 4:33Okay, so with him and I know I know I should be going into the offseason stuff, but I just had to talk about this
- 4:39But T Higgins, okay? He can't necessarily demand a whole lot of money
- 4:44But somebody would be willing to give him a decent amount of money
- 4:49Now what is your definition of decent amount of money to me?
- 4:53It's probably maybe 24 to maybe 26 million a year at best
- 4:57I don't think he's gonna get close to 28 29 or even 30. I just don't see it
- 5:02I think you know somebody would be willing to
- 5:06Not give him the traditional four-year deal
- 5:09I think they'll give him a three just so he can get a majority of his money up front
- 5:14So just in case anything, you know goes crazy. Guess what?
- 5:17They can wipe their hands clean from the situation and not have to deal with you know any large
- 5:23You know dead cap hits or any of those different types of things when you give these types of free agents, you know
- 5:28These big deals right but all in all
- 5:31This is the bangles being cheap once again
- 5:34You have Trey Hendrickson who was a defensive player of the year finalists as well who had one of his best seasons bar none
- 5:41And now you're gonna have to pay him top dollar money
- 5:44So at some point the bangles are gonna have to figure out exactly what are they going to do moving forward because
- 5:51All your money is tied into Joe Burrow
- 5:55Then it's Jermar Chase
- 5:56Then it's T Higgins if he stays on the team and then it's Trey Hendrickson
- 6:00Nobody else will be able to get the bag because why it's all tied in with everybody else and granted
- 6:06I'm all here for everybody getting the bag, but it comes a time of point where it's like hey
- 6:11Maybe if I take a little bit less, maybe it'll allow us to get you know
- 6:16Upgrade with this position or that position or whatever the case may be your defense is atrocious
- 6:22so at some point
- 6:24The thought of maybe if I take less to benefit the team and to benefit me and
- 6:30To better our chances of going back to a Super Bowl. Maybe I should do that instead of saying hey
- 6:35I'll just take whatever you give me
- 6:38Just saying that that's just my little rant, but let's get into the NFC East
- 6:42Okay, so as I said before in the intro, this is a little bit different from gut check time
- 6:47Okay, so with this we're going more in depth. Okay, we're talking about your salary. We're talking about rollover cap
- 6:53Okay, we're talking about your free agents your draft picks your positions of need
- 6:58candidates for
- 6:59Restructure extension trades and cuts. Okay, all of that and more we're going all the way in when it comes to
- 7:07Where your teams are? Okay, so we're starting with the NFC East. We're gonna start with the Cowboys, okay?
- 7:13So with the Cowboys they have negative 2.3 million catch space. Okay, but they have a rollover cap of 18.8 million
- 7:21Now you're probably wondering what is rollover cap? I'm gonna tell you right now
- 7:26So rollover cap is basically the amount of unused salary cap that can be carried over into the next season
- 7:32Okay, but the rule is this teams must inform the league
- 7:36By 4 p.m. The day after the regular season ends that they intend to do so if they do not do that
- 7:44They could possibly face penalties that include fines losing draft picks all those different types of you know punishments and more
- 7:52Okay, so with the Cowboys having 18.8 million in unused cap space
- 7:57That's gonna carry them over into the new league year which would put them in the green
- 8:02But at the same time would limit them from trying to make any big moves in free agency
- 8:08You know via trades or anything like that
- 8:11so
- 8:12You're already getting ready to go through another offseason where you're basically gonna be quiet
- 8:17You're not gonna be able to you know make a big trade or make a big splash signing
- 8:22You're not gonna be able to do any of those any of those type of things. So that's one
- 8:27To you have free agents that include Brandy cooks Zach Martin, Demarcus Lawrence, Tray Lenz, Brian Anger, Eric Kendricks, Jordan Lewis, Cooper Rush,
- 8:37Lin-Ball Joseph, CJ Goodwin just to name a few okay, and some of these are very notable free agents
- 8:44Demarcus Lawrence, he's gonna have a market Zach Martin if he still wants to play he's gonna have a market Brandy cooks
- 8:51Despite what everyone may say about Brandy cooks
- 8:54He is a reliable receiver now granted
- 8:58He's not gonna be someone that's gonna play an entire season
- 9:00He may miss a game or two, but best believe you're never gonna have any problems with him and he's always gonna get the job done
- 9:06That is one thing I can say about Brandy cooks now for everybody else. It's a little bit difficult
- 9:12Okay, so like Tray Lenz
- 9:14His market really isn't as defined as everybody else's most likely he'll be a backup quarterback
- 9:20Unfortunately at best will probably be you know competing to either be the second string or third string quarterback
- 9:27Let's see Eric Kendricks
- 9:31Maybe you'll stay with the Cowboys. Maybe not. I don't really know
- 9:35I know there's been a lot of turnover with the team
- 9:37So, you know if there's a particular coach that that was there, you know when they first got there
- 9:42Maybe they're not there anymore, but you know outside of that
- 9:46There's not a lot of you know notable people. They're like, oh man, they're gonna have this, you know, big market
- 9:54Not really it's just you know, the notable household names. Honestly now when we go to positions of me
- 10:00Okay, you have defensive tackle wide receiver running back and offensive line
- 10:05This is my problem. Okay, so receiver is not as strong as what I would have thought it would have been
- 10:13Now we know in past years, you know, you've had
- 10:16Uh
- 10:17Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson's of the world the Malik neighbors of the world Brian Thomas CD lamb just to name a few right
- 10:25But this one is a little bit different. Okay, you got Luther Birdie. You got T Mac
- 10:30You got Matthew Golden. You got a Mecca of Bucca. You got Jack Bess. You got Tess Johnson
- 10:35You got Savion Williams. You got what his name was strepo from Miami. So you have options. Okay?
- 10:42You have your big body receivers. You have your, you know, shifty receivers. You have your route runners
- 10:48You got it all in this draft, but the problem is not all of them
- 10:53Should be drafted as high as what we probably would think they would be so for me personally
- 10:59I think there's probably only
- 11:01Maybe four receivers right now that you could say will probably be drafted in the first round
- 11:07Matthew Golden T Mac Luther Birdie a Mecca of Bucca
- 11:10Now all of them is for you know, various reasons and you know, all of them have different skill sets
- 11:15But those are only four there should be nobody else
- 11:19Outside of those four names that should be drafted in the first round Isaiah Bond to me is not a first rounder
- 11:24Savion Williams is not a first rounder to me
- 11:27Restrepo is not a first rounder to me
- 11:29A lot of those guys are day two and day three picks. Okay. Now. Can they be you know hidden gems that can you know do spectacular things for different teams?
- 11:37Yes, of course, but the fact of the matter is this receiver class is not as strong as it has been within the last five to ten years
- 11:45I'm just being honest here. Now with running back
- 11:48They have a little bit of leeway and the reason why I say that is because you can get a good quality running back in
- 11:57the day two and day three
- 11:59Spots of the draft you could get, you know a Devon Neil a Caleb Johnson
- 12:04Travion Henderson
- 12:07Quincheon Jenkins you can get
- 12:10Boshul to and you can get a marion Hampton. You have options with running back
- 12:16This is probably gonna be one of the biggest running back class that we have had in a very very very long time
- 12:21I would not be surprised that if we see some, you know, Pro Bowl
- 12:27Almost borderline all pro running backs multiple running backs that come out of this draft class
- 12:32All right. Now when we look at you know defensive tackle, it is a class that I'm very high on okay
- 12:38and the reason why I say that is because
- 12:41You can get a good quality defensive woman in the later parts of the draft sort of like running back
- 12:48Okay, you have Doran Harman you have Dion Walker Walter Nolan
- 12:53Annias pebbles you have Darius Alexander Jordan Phillips just to name a few you have a lot of defense alignment
- 13:00Shamar Stewart, okay? I can keep on going if I really wanted to but you have some very notable
- 13:06You know defensive linemen that you can get and each and every one of them is different from the next
- 13:12Okay, because we all know that Margie Smith has not lived up to the hype and at this point
- 13:18I would not be surprised if he is a trade candidate or a cut candidate. I'm just being honest here now offensive linemen
- 13:24It's a little bit tricky. Okay, so you can go at this a few different ways
- 13:28You can go at it, you know via the draft or you can go at it, you know in free agency
- 13:33Depending on the position of the offensive line if it's tackle
- 13:37You could address that in this year's draft now. I will say this to me
- 13:42I think will Campbell will probably be better at guard. I think Calvin Banks could probably be better at guard
- 13:48I feel like you know graze able. I think there's a little bit of position
- 13:54Flexibility with his skill set. I do feel like there are some really good tackles in this draft class
- 14:02And you know only time will tell honestly. I think with the combine being next week
- 14:06I think we can really see exactly, you know, what are their 40 times? What are their, you know?
- 14:12Skill sets and all those different things and more okay, because we all know a lot of the you know
- 14:18Big signings and rumors and all those things they all start at the combine. Well, no they actually start in the senior bowl
- 14:25Then they die a little bit and then they pick right back up when the combine because that's where everybody's at your GM's
- 14:32You're you know agents and all those different things and more. Okay, so this is what I will say at
- 14:38best
- 14:40One or two things are gonna happen either they're gonna draft a defensive linemen in the first round or they're gonna draft
- 14:45For running back or maybe even a receiver who knows but when we look at their draft picks, okay?
- 14:50Of course, they got their first their second their third they have four fifth round picks to
- 14:56Sixth round picks and one seventh round pick. Okay, so all in all they have a decent amount of picks
- 15:03Which means they have their
- 15:06The run of the litter but the thing is
- 15:09What do you value the most right now?
- 15:12Do you value your defense or do you value getting another weapon for Dak Prescott?
- 15:18Because at this point you have to find a way to make this team at least a little bit competitive
- 15:24Because you didn't allocate it a majority of your cap to who Dak Prescott and CDL and that's no slight to them
- 15:31But the fact of the matter is I would have never paid Dak Prescott the amount of money that the Cowboys paid him
- 15:37He is not one of MVP
- 15:38He is not one in NFC championship let alone been to a Super Bowl. So why in the world would I pay you all that money?
- 15:46There's no need now CDL and that's a different conversation for a different day personally the fact of the matter is
- 15:53This team needs to get a little bit cheaper on both sides of the ball. Okay now when we look at you know
- 15:59Candidates for either restructure extensions trades or cuts
- 16:02Tremont digs is the first person that comes to mind. Okay, because right now his contract is
- 16:09Going to age like a banana. So right now his base salary for this year will only be nine million
- 16:15But his cap hit will be fourteen point two million and then in twenty twenty six
- 16:20It's fourteen point five and then in twenty twenty seven. It's nineteen point five and then in twenty twenty eight. It is twenty million
- 16:27Okay
- 16:28Most likely they're going to do a restructure
- 16:30But if they don't do a restructure, I would not be surprised if his name is float around for a potential
- 16:37trade candidate or cut
- 16:40Keep your eye on Tremont digs. Now when we look at someone like a Micah Parsons
- 16:45That's a little bit of a difficult situation because why you either have to pay him or you have to trade him
- 16:52He is not going to play another season without a new deal
- 16:56Now when we look at spot racks value for Michael Parsons, it's a four year
- 17:02134 point eight million dollar deal, which is thirty three point seven million a year. Okay?
- 17:08Big number big amount of money
- 17:10But I mean you guys dodged a bullet though because had he won a defense a player of the year
- 17:15That probably would have been forty million just say and granted
- 17:19I understand Jerry Jones likes to take care of his players and that's perfectly fine
- 17:22No, no disrespect to him, but it's like bro
- 17:25You be writing checks for players that you know
- 17:29You you paying them like they're the next Dion Sanders or Reggie White or you know Troy Aikman or whatever it is like bro
- 17:36You're not even close to that now Michael Parsons
- 17:39This could benefit the Cowboys or this could hurt the Cowboys and
- 17:43Let me explain why when it comes to benefiting the Cowboys if you trade away Michael Parsons
- 17:49That's another first round pick
- 17:51Now that first round pick could be for this year or it could be for next year
- 17:56Okay, because right now you need all the draft picks that you can get right now
- 18:01Because you won't be able to really go out and really get people in free agency for maybe another year or so
- 18:08So the only way you're going to be able to build this team is where through the draft and
- 18:14I guarantee you Michael Parsons has a market
- 18:18Somebody would be willing to go after Michael Parsons give him the money that he wants or maybe a little bit less
- 18:24While giving you that first round pick because you need it now everybody else I
- 18:30Don't really know. I don't think Zach Martin is coming back. I don't think Brandon cooks is coming back
- 18:34I don't think the markets. Lawrence is coming back. I
- 18:38Just feel like you know, they're in a situation where they want to win they want to experience winning football and
- 18:44And you know, they'll probably be willing to take less just to be in a winning situation
- 18:49So keep your eyes on, you know, Brandon cooks that Marion in the markets Lawrence this offseason. Okay now
- 18:56Let's go to the commanders. Okay, so with them they have 79 million in cap space
- 19:01They have a rollover cap of 19.8. So technically speaking, they'll have about maybe
- 19:07What 80 something million maybe close to 90 something million in cap space. That's a lot of money folks
- 19:13That is a lot of money to play with. Okay, then we'll look at their free agents. You got Bobby Wagner
- 19:19You got Marcus, Marriota. You got Clinton Farrell, Jeremy Chen, Dante Fowler, Jr.
- 19:23Zach Erz, Cornelius Lucas, Benjamin St.
- 19:27Juice, you have Jeff Driscoll, Diamond Brown, Noah Brown. You got a lot of free agents, but
- 19:34Most of these free agents will be coming back to the team. Okay, they're not gonna be leaving
- 19:40Especially you the way that the season ended over so they are definitely staying. Okay
- 19:44Now we look at their draft picks, of course, they got their first their second their third
- 19:48They don't have a fourth which I think they used to get Marcus
- 19:52Marcus Ladimore from not mistaken. They have their fifth sixth and then two seventh round picks. Okay, cool
- 20:00Now we look at their positions of need DB both corner and safety
- 20:06and
- 20:07wide receiver tight end defensive tackle, this is a
- 20:12little bit of a better situation than everybody else's and the reason why I say that is because
- 20:17Now they have become a hot market for players to go to
- 20:22Like I wouldn't be surprised if Deebo Samuel wants to go over here
- 20:26Simply because for one he has a relationship with the current GM with the commanders and Adam Peters
- 20:32And on top of that it's winning football who wouldn't want to go into a winning situation
- 20:38I think he would be willing to take less
- 20:41Just to go to a team like the commanders because what it sounds like to me is the 49ers are probably going to release
- 20:48Debo Samuel instead of trade for him, which will probably make more sense than just you know, trade him or whatever
- 20:54Now when we look at you know other potential candidates, I think Christian curb could maybe
- 21:00Go to the commanders because again, he was with the Cardinals when they had Cliff Kingsbury as the head coach
- 21:06Could be a possible reunion. There are a lot of
- 21:10Good reunions that could happen with the commanders this offseason. Okay, I would not be surprised if some of those free agent
- 21:18You know players that were with the Cowboys would want to go to the commanders because why they probably played their best football under Dan Quinn and Joe
- 21:26Wait, so again, the commanders are in a situation where you could bring in top-end talent while at the same time
- 21:35Even make this team even better than what it was this past season
- 21:39I guarantee you the commanders will be back in the NFC championship
- 21:45Because right now everybody else in the NFC are either in a situation where they're trying to figure out where they stand or
- 21:53They're trying to you know
- 21:55Maneuver a rebuild the 49ers. They're having to they're gonna have to go through rebuild. Okay, you have an older roster
- 22:03Your team is not really going anywhere and you're losing coaches left and right. Okay, you have the Rams
- 22:09You have to figure out what you're gonna do with Matthew Stafford moving forward. You're about to lose puka
- 22:14I mean not puka Cooper Cup
- 22:16Who else see Hawks you got cat problems? You got to figure that out the Lions
- 22:22You have to figure out what you're going to do moving forward because why you lost both your offensive coordinator and your defensive coordinator in one off season and
- 22:32All you did was just basically elevate all of your assistants and made them into the next offensive and defensive coordinators
- 22:40Is Jair golf going to be the same Jair golf that we've seen in the past three years? I don't know
- 22:46Only time will tell at this point and then we look at the Vikings
- 22:50They have their own problems to figure out. Are they going to pay Sam Darno?
- 22:54Are they gonna roll with JJ McCarthy? There's a lot of questions within the NFC
- 22:58The only two teams right now that everyone should be concerned about is the commanders and the Eagles
- 23:04Because the commanders right now just showed you that listen. We are here
- 23:08We're not going anywhere and we're going back to the Super Bowl fairly soon
- 23:13Now when we look at candidates for restructures extensions trades and cuts, of course March on Lattimore
- 23:20Terry McClaren for sure is definitely getting an extension
- 23:24Okay, when we look at his market value is three years 82.4 million, which is only 27.5 million a year
- 23:31Now when we look at someone like for instance a Jonathan Allen, most likely he'll probably get the extension now
- 23:38Is it going to be this super big extension? Probably not at best
- 23:43I think it would probably look like a restructure where it's like they're just adding more years and just adding more guaranteed money with his current deal
- 23:51Just to you know fluff up the numbers as I call it
- 23:54But I don't think it's going to be you know something, you know earth shattering or anything like that
- 24:00you know all in all
- 24:03The commanders are
- 24:06Very competitive
- 24:08But at the same time they have to continue on this streak of hitting on draft picks and hitting on their free agent signings and not going
- 24:16You know over and above when it comes to certain players, okay?
- 24:21Maintain this course do not try to do something different
- 24:25But maintain the course if you maintain this course they can be right back where they just were but if they decide to go left with this thing
- 24:34It's gonna be a problem when we look at the Giants
- 24:40Giants the Giants the Giants man. Oh man. Oh man
- 24:44Man, they ain't man. Oh man. They really messed themselves up. Okay, so they have 47.1 million in cap space
- 24:51Okay, they have a rollover cap of only 1.1 million which really isn't a lot so at best
- 24:56You'll probably have maybe 50 some million in cap space to probably play with and that's probably you know
- 25:01Counting if they decide to cut somebody or do a restructure or an extension any of those different types of things, okay?
- 25:08Now we look at their free agents, you know, you're gonna have Darius Layton, Isaiah Simmons drew lock break Van
- 25:14Van Rotten Adori Jackson Aziz Azulari Gunnar Ochefsky Chris Hubbard Matthew Adams Armand Watts just to name a few
- 25:23Okay, of course, they're gonna have their first their second their third their fourth will actually two fourths
- 25:28Excuse me one fifth no sixth round pick and two seventh round picks
- 25:33Okay, now we look at positions of need for them quarterback receiver corner
- 25:40Interior offensive line and interior defensive line
- 25:42Now this is the problem with the Giants, okay?
- 25:46They have a lot of tough decisions that they're going to have to make moving forward and the reason why I say that is because
- 25:54You have to figure out are you truly in love with one of these quarterbacks?
- 26:00Because right now you are at a crossroads
- 26:04You have a owner that has let you know that listen you guys have one last chance
- 26:09If you guys do not have a better season than what we've had the last few years, you're gone
- 26:15He's already let that be known
- 26:17So either you tell him hey listen our guy isn't isn't here in this draft
- 26:23but next year our guy is there or
- 26:27You take one of these quarterbacks or you take the veteran approach and you get someone like a Russell Wilson
- 26:34Sam Darno Kirk Cousins
- 26:36You know Aaron Rogers or Matthew Stafford even though I've seen his name
- 26:41You know floored around a whole bunch of times with the Giants, which is weird
- 26:45But all in all you have a lot of tough decisions that you're gonna have to figure out
- 26:49Within the next few weeks. Well actually in the next few days honestly
- 26:53Like are you really committed to getting a quarterback this year?
- 26:57And if not then what position are you going to address in the first round because remember the Giants have the third pick of the draft
- 27:05So you could go at this thing a few ways you can go and get you know Travis Hunter
- 27:11You can go and get Abdul Carter. You could go get Mason Graham. You have options
- 27:16Okay, but the question is what are you going to do?
- 27:21What is going to be the direction of this team moving forward because again?
- 27:25We saw in hard knocks that there was a little bit of division between
- 27:30Joe Shane and Brian Davell because Brian Davell wanted to go in a different direction than what Joe said Joe Shane did because remember
- 27:38Joe Shane was looking at you know, patch rushers. He was looking at Chris Jones Christian Wilkins
- 27:42Brian Burns just to name a few
- 27:45Whereas, you know, Brian Davell. He was looking at Jaden Daniels. He actually liked Jaden Daniels. Okay, if I'm Brian Davell
- 27:53I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to throw Joe Shane under the bus a little bit because as of right now
- 27:58His plan is not worked. Okay, you literally let our best offensive weapon go
- 28:05probably
- 28:06Arguably one of the greatest running backs in
- 28:09Giants history and possibly one of the greatest running backs of all time
- 28:14Just walk out the door and you didn't even fight for him
- 28:17And then you doubled down or not doing it by saying
- 28:21Who in the world is gonna give a running back 12 million a year and the owner told you I would have a problem sleeping at night
- 28:31If we let say Kwan walk and you let him walk and you went to the Eagles first year
- 28:37Guess what happened? They won a championship
- 28:39Now I'm not saying that if say Kwan stayed you guys would have had the same outcome
- 28:43But what I am saying is this
- 28:45You now have given a reason for say Kwan Barkley to torture you guys for the next few years
- 28:53Because of that simple decision and so now you have to figure out exactly how are you gonna make this team a
- 29:00little bit competitive
- 29:02Because right now sure you have Dexter Lawrence sure you have Malik neighbors sure you may have you know
- 29:10Brian birds and Kevin Tibido, but the fact of the matter is you're still not competitive
- 29:16You are not
- 29:18competitive
- 29:19The last two years
- 29:21Maybe even three years if you really go if you really want to you know get in the bag
- 29:25You guys have not been competitive for a very long time and you guys have to break out of this cycle now
- 29:33Because if not guess what some boxes are gonna be put in and some people gonna be moved down
- 29:39Just saying now when we look at receiver as I've said before not that strong you could go out at a few different ways
- 29:46But my problem is what anybody want to play with the Giants?
- 29:51I really think about this because Darius Slayton's market value right now is only three years
- 29:5647.3 million which is only 15.8 million a year. I don't think Darius Slayton is coming back to the Giants
- 30:02I think Darius Slayton is gonna want to try to win
- 30:04And I think he would be willing to take less to be in a winning situation. Okay now someone like Isaiah Simmons
- 30:13He's not gonna have that big of a market
- 30:15I think at best who probably stayed with the Giants because at this point
- 30:19Where are you gonna go?
- 30:20Because if you go anywhere else your roster spot is not guaranteed as these are
- 30:27Ojalari I would have thought he probably would have been traded last season personally
- 30:31Just because he has a lot of upside with his game now granted
- 30:35He's been battling a lot of injuries, but the potential is there, but when we look at his market value
- 30:41It's a two-year 15.1 million dollar deal, which is only 7.6 million a year, which is you know, very
- 30:48Fairly pretty good now someone like it a Dory Jackson. I don't think he's gonna be with the Giants
- 30:55I think he's gonna go in a different direction same thing with a few other
- 30:59Free agents as well. Okay
- 31:02Now when we look at you know, interior offensive line, you can go at it a few different ways
- 31:07You can draft one or you can pay for one
- 31:10But if you pay for one you may have to pay top dollar for one
- 31:15Compared to just drafting one, you know, which you can get in the second third four fifth six seventh, you know
- 31:21Undrafted whenever okay now defensive line, you know as I've said before with with other teams
- 31:27You have your run in the litter. Okay, you have a wide variety of defensive linemen
- 31:33You now can choose Dexter Lawrence's partner. Okay, you again, you have Dion Walker
- 31:41You have the Ron Harmon you have a Neas Peoples you have Jordan Phillips you have Darius Alexander
- 31:46You have a Walter Nolan you have Ken of Grant you have Mason Graham you have options at defensive line
- 31:52So you have to get at least maybe two
- 31:55Honestly speaking here, I would not be surprised if we see multiple teams double dip at defensive line
- 32:02Just because of how great this defensive line class is now we look at corner
- 32:08for corner, it's a little bit difficult for them simply because
- 32:13You know Dante Banks was supposed to be you know the next big thing at corner and so far he has not lived up to that
- 32:20so far he looks like he does not want to be there and
- 32:23It looks like to me that he is falling out of the good graces of Brian Dable
- 32:27So I would not be surprised if he's a trade or cut candidate at this point
- 32:31But we look at you know candidates for restructure. We've already sort of you know went over that with both Aziz Arjallari and Daria Slayton
- 32:38I don't expect anybody else with any of these free agents to be getting you know a major bag
- 32:44I wouldn't be surprised if you know someone like a gunner or
- 32:47Or chef ski, you know maybe come back because he's you know a special teams ace but outside of that
- 32:52I think everybody else is just going to try to find you know better situations. Well, you know what actually I know I'm skipping around
- 32:59I need to go back to the commanders a little bit because I
- 33:02Don't think I really went in depth with them like I really wanted to especially with positions of need
- 33:07Now when we look at you know positions of need with them
- 33:09Yes, I put DB because they both need a safety and corners as well Mike Sandstrell great pickup
- 33:18Okay, Jeremy Chen. He's probably gonna you know, stay with the commanders now me personally
- 33:23You have options at corner me personally and this is what I've seen in multiple block drafts
- 33:29And the way people have been talking about corners
- 33:32I would not be surprised if you know will Johnson falls Benjamin Morrison falls a Trey Amos
- 33:38Chavon revel
- 33:40Ezra Thomas all those different types of corners fall
- 33:43Because a lot of them all have the same red flag which is injuries
- 33:48So unless they wow people at the combine, I would expect for them to fall now
- 33:54I'm not saying they're gonna fall in the second round, but what I am saying is this there is a good chance that they could fall
- 34:00Middle maybe late first round at best, okay
- 34:04But you have people again like I've said before Chavon revel Trey Amos will Johnson Benjamin Morrison
- 34:11Kobe Bryant. Yes, there is a real
- 34:14Football player named Kobe Bryant. His name is not spelled with the K. It is spelled with a C
- 34:19He plays with
- 34:21Kansas States or is it Kansas? It's one of the two. I think it's Kansas the one with the J Hawks go J Hawks
- 34:26You have options at corner
- 34:28Ezra Thomas FSU really good corner and these aren't just you know, you're you know, your smaller type corners
- 34:36No, these are these are some big body corners. You're talking about six two and up. All right, you guys
- 34:42What is his name today bearing if I'm not mistaken from Texas like you have options at corner?
- 34:50Unless if you want to you know go in and pay for one or trade for one tied in
- 34:54You know, you could get you know someone like a Tyler Warren or the tight end from bowling green
- 35:00I think it's Harold Harold fan in junior or you can get the tight end from Michigan or the tight end from Miami
- 35:06You have options. Okay?
- 35:09Defense of tackle. I've already said it
- 35:11I'll continue to say you have a whole bunch of options with defensive tackle. You want that defensive line to get better
- 35:17Same thing with with end. I
- 35:20Would not be surprised if the commanders really do pull the trigger and get miles Garrett
- 35:25I think if they get someone like a miles Garrett, we are having a completely different conversation about the commanders right now
- 35:31I think miles Garrett would be willing to take less
- 35:35To be in a situation with the commanders or the Eagles or somebody else that's winning because as of right now
- 35:43Just about every single AFC team would be interested in miles Garrett and we all know the Browns are not going to keep miles
- 35:51Garrett in the AFC
- 35:52They're going to send him into the NFC now the question is who would he go to would you go to the Eagles?
- 35:58If you go to the Eagles, you're gonna take a lot less
- 36:02If you go to the commanders, maybe they could still pay you but it won't be as much as you want
- 36:07So it's still a lot of tough questions that have to be asked but best believe the commanders are gonna be fairly busy this off season now
- 36:16Back to your regular season programming. Okay, and that is with the Eagles. Okay. I was getting ready to do it, but I'm not gonna do it
- 36:23Okay
- 36:25Yeah, I really was now we look at their salary. Okay, they have 24.4 million and the rollover cap of 6.8 million
- 36:32Which will probably be about maybe about 30 something million. Okay, fairly good
- 36:36You you could do something with that. All right
- 36:39Now we will look at their free agents Josh sweat Brandy Graham Zach bond Mackay Bechton the Vonte Maddox CJ
- 36:46Usman Milton Williams the Raven Clark Rick Lovato Fred Johnson just to name a few. Okay, of course
- 36:53They're gonna have the first round pick second round pick third fourth and they're gonna have three fifth round picks
- 36:59So I'm not gonna have a sixth or seventh round pick. Okay, perfectly fine
- 37:03Now positions of need tight end corner defensive line and linebacker
- 37:11This is the good thing about being a Super Bowl champion is that you can attract players and have them to take less
- 37:18Just so they can try to experience being in the Super Bowl
- 37:23That is the biggest thing with being a Super Bowl winning team is that you can get
- 37:29Any type of player they could be a perennial all-pro first battle hall of fame type of player
- 37:35They would be willing to take less just to join your organization
- 37:39So like a mouse gear I guarantee you if the Eagles told him hey, listen, we could only give you five million this year
- 37:47He said, you know, what where do I sign?
- 37:50Because why you have a winning culture and as of right now
- 37:53There is nobody else at NFC aside from the commanders that can really, you know, give you a problem
- 37:59Just being honest here. Now when we look at, you know positions of need tight end
- 38:05That could be addressed in free agency
- 38:07That probably could be addressed maybe in the draft as well because again
- 38:13Even if you don't get Tyler Warren
- 38:15You if you get Harold Fandin Jr. If you get a
- 38:18A love land from Michigan if you get the tight end from Miami if you get any of those guys or you get someone like a
- 38:27Micasecchi
- 38:28That's still a plus in my book because you still have another, you know
- 38:33Another good option at tight end outside of Dallas Goddard. Okay now corner as I've said before
- 38:40You have options at corner because as of right now Darius lay is getting up in age and
- 38:45The question is does he want to stay and if he does it'll probably be out of reduced amount
- 38:51And if he doesn't then just let him walk at some point you're gonna have to get Quinlan Mitchell's, you know number two
- 38:58It's better if you just do it in this draft than just to wait another year personally
- 39:03You could get someone like a Siobhan revel because I don't think he's going to be drafted fairly high
- 39:08You could get someone like a tray a most because I don't think he's gonna be drafted that that high
- 39:12You could get someone like a Will Johnson or Benjamin Morris
- 39:16You have options and defensive line. We already know
- 39:20We all know that they're going to get at least two defensive linemen
- 39:23We all know that it'll probably be some people that we have never even heard of before okay
- 39:27No disrespect to them now linebacker that is a position where
- 39:31You could sort of do what you did was that bond you could get you know somebody and you know
- 39:36Give them an opportunity and you know see see exactly what happens because you still have to figure out when the Kobe D
- 39:43Is gonna is gonna be coming back which is probably gonna be for a while
- 39:46So you could go you can get someone like Devin white again or you could get Juan Alexander or you know any those different types of
- 39:55Metal linebackers and you can pay them, you know, maybe five to eight million dollars a year and not you know lose any sleep off of that
- 40:03Okay. Now when we look at the market values for some of their free agents, you know, Josh wet his market value three years
- 40:1156.4 million 18.8 million a year. I think they'll probably let him walk
- 40:16I know Brandon Graham said he was supposed to be retiring. Let's see if he actually sticks with that
- 40:21Zach bond his market value two years 19.4 million, which is only 9.7 million a year
- 40:27He's going to get the back. I don't care what anyone says. He's going to get the back
- 40:32Watch what I say. Okay. Now Milton Williams his market value three years 36 million was only 12 million a year
- 40:41This guy
- 40:43Milton Williams this guy. Do I think he's gonna get paid a whole lot of money?
- 40:47No, do I think he's going to get a fairly decent amount of money for sure
- 40:53because
- 40:54There's not a lot of productive defense alignment in in this league and
- 40:58And getting someone like a Milton Williams will probably pay off. Okay
- 41:03Now he's sort of let it be known of where he stands right now with the Eagles
- 41:08Okay, because when they were cleaning out the locker rooms, okay
- 41:11He was in front of his locker room with a clutch sports hoodie on any time that you have on a hoodie of the agency that represents you
- 41:19Oh, yeah, you're looking for the bank. You're not looking for a bank's truck. You're not looking for a piggy bank
- 41:24You're not looking for a little cashier. No, you are looking for the bank
- 41:29You're looking for the big vault in the back. Okay, that's what you're looking for
- 41:34So I wouldn't be surprised if he gets paid, you know, fairly well
- 41:38Now when we look at you know
- 41:40Candidates for restructure extensions trades and cuts CJ Usma either he may get a small extension or they'll just let him go
- 41:49Me personally I probably would keep him keep on the practice squad
- 41:52You know, maybe he wants to you know, stay with the team or whatever
- 41:55But it is weird how he won a Super Bowl before Joe Burrow and everybody else, but that's just weird
- 42:00but
- 42:02Back to the situation at hand. Um
- 42:04Mackay Bekton, I think you'll probably take a fairly small extension
- 42:08I don't think he wants to go anywhere because this is the most productive that we've seen out of Mackay Bekton
- 42:14May I remind people that Mackay Bekton was on the cusp of
- 42:18potentially being out of the league and
- 42:20He went to the Eagles
- 42:23They told him hey listen. We want you to play guard. He was okay with it and guess what happened. They paid off
- 42:30He's a Super Bowl champion now. I
- 42:33Mean, that's that's a great. That's a great way to be personally
- 42:37I think that's a win-win situation a win is a win Milton Williams. I
- 42:42Could see him getting an extension
- 42:44But I could also seeing the Eagles just letting him go because again, they have a variety of
- 42:51Defensive linemen just waiting to get a chance and we all know when Jaylen Carter
- 42:57You know when it's time for him for him to get paid. That's a hundred plus million dollars guaranteed
- 43:02I can assure you that is a hundred plus million guaranteed that will be wired to his bank account
- 43:09Okay, now everybody else I
- 43:12don't really know
- 43:13But I don't expect the Eagles to be like super busy and the and free agency
- 43:19And if they are they're going to be getting people that you know are going to be taking less just to be with the team
- 43:24And there is one thing I do want to bring to everybody's attention
- 43:28This and this will be the last thing I say and then I'll end this episode
- 43:31Do not worry about what the Eagles do when it comes to splash
- 43:36Worry about the small signings because it's the small signings that make the biggest impact
- 43:42We saw with Zach bond
- 43:45No one expected Zach bond to have the season that he did
- 43:49But he went to the Eagles paired himself with Vic Vangio Vic Vangio say, you know what?
- 43:55You could probably be a really good off-ball linebacker. He gave into the process and guess what it worked out for him
- 44:01He was a defensive player of the year finalists
- 44:03Just saying but I'm gonna end this episode here if you guys like what you are listening
