- 0:59Hey, welcome to day's show. I am actually able to do two shows
- 1:03little in a row this week. I am let's said, I've still got
- 1:07the flu, but it's God willing. It's getting a little better every day.
- 1:12I think your Day's show will follow very well on the on yesterday's show.
- 1:18You know, sort of a similar thing yesterday's show is who do you
- 1:25believe that God is? Who do you say God is? If you believe
- 1:32that Jesus Christ is God? You really have a follow on question, or
- 1:38at least I do. I think everyone should. How many times in the
- 1:44Gospels does Jesus say something like, if you love me, you will keep
- 1:48my commandments? Why do you say that I am Lord? If you won't
- 1:52do what I tell you, many will say, Lord Lord, did we
- 1:59not prophesy your name? Did we not castide demons in your name? And
- 2:02I will say to them, I don't know if you be gone from me,
- 2:06you evil doers. If Jesus is God, and every word he says
- 2:15is by definition true, God cannot lie. God. Jesus is the word,
- 2:21the eternal word that spoke everything that is into existence. If Jesus says,
- 2:28do it, do it. If Jesus says this is true. Believe
- 2:32it. If you don't, you really can't say you believe that Jesus is
- 2:38Lord and God divide. That's the problem with the whole cafeteria Catholic mentality that
- 2:50you can take what you want and leave the rest. No, you can't.
- 2:54If Jesus is God, then what he said is true and you have
- 2:59to believe it. If you don't believe it, you're wilfully defying the will
- 3:05of God. You're you're sinning, and you know you're doing it, and
- 3:12you know, I really don't understand. I mean, the most basic Well,
- 3:16what's the first sacrament? Right, Baptism? The most basic tenant of
- 3:21Christian belief after accepting believing that Jesus Lord is baptism. And yet many,
- 3:38many Protestant denominations certainly say that baptism is just symbolic and unnecessary, and many
- 3:50many Catholics believe the same, even though we call it a sacrament. Most
- 3:57I would I don't know if this should say most, but I would probably
- 4:00say most Catholics in America do not believe in the sacrament of baptism. They
- 4:08see it as a symbolic initiation in Christianity. More of a ceremony, a
- 4:17little celebration you have after you've had a baby, and everybody comes around and
- 4:23their cards and gifts and you know all that. But that's not what Jesus
- 4:28said at all at all. And we're just you know, we'll touch we'll
- 4:32get into that. We hit a lot on a lot of points, but
- 4:38it all does center on who do you believe God is. If you think
- 4:46your opinion, your politics, your view of the world, your understanding of
- 4:50things is right, and the traditional Catholic teaching based on the very words of
- 4:59Christ, both in the Bible and has passed down through Apostolic tradition, Holy
- 5:06tradition through the Apostles of Christ, is wrong, then you're actually setting yourself
- 5:12up as your own God. And of course we can do this in many
- 5:16ways. I mean, anything we do that is sinful is saying, well,
- 5:21I either know better than God or my wants supersede the commands of God.
- 5:29But on something as basic as baptism, which is the initiation of the
- 5:34Christian into the Church, the very fundamental sacrament, to deny it, which
- 5:44many Catholics do, unfortunately, and most Protestants do unfortunately, that doesn't really
- 5:53honor Jesus as Lord, as God. How can you believe that Jesus is
- 5:59God and not do what he said and believe his words. No, there
- 6:04are many much harder teachings. You get to a hard teaching. How of
- 6:09the Eucharist Jesus said, truly, I say you will eat of my body
- 6:15and drink of my blood. Truly, this bread is my body and this
- 6:19wine is my blood. And if you do, If you don't eat it
- 6:24and drink it, you have no life in you. Only the Catholic Church
- 6:29teaches that when the priest consecrates the bread and wine, it becomes a spiritual
- 6:35body and blood of Christ. No Protestant denomination claims to have that power or
- 6:43believes the words of Jesus Christ in the sacrament of the Eucharist that he said
- 6:47not only in every Gospel, but he said it was much such power and
- 6:51force that like ninety five percent of his followers, all the Jews who thought
- 6:57he was going to be the Messiah left and thought he was a lunatic,
- 7:02because they can only see him as saying, you will eat my body and
- 7:06drink my blood, as if it was cannibalism, which was forbidden in the
- 7:11Mosaic law. If Jesus wouldn't be popular, he wouldn't have said it.
- 7:16And he went so far as to say, if you receive the Eucharist without
- 7:20believing that, without understanding it, and in unworthy fashion, you became guilty
- 7:27of his death. He said, you become guilty of the blood. That's
- 7:34big stuff. And unfortunately, according to recent polls, most Catholics do not
- 7:42understand or believe that when we receive the Eucharist, we are truly consuming the
- 7:48spiritual body and blood of Jesus Christ. That ignorance may be forgiven, you
- 7:57know, it's up to God, but there's really no excuse. And if
- 8:01you receive the Ukurus without that knowledge, you're committing a mortal sin. You'd
- 8:07be better off not even being Catholic than receiving the Euchurus and not believing the
- 8:15words of Jesus. Well, that's true, and just about everything marriage.
- 8:20I mean, you go through the sacraments, or how about you know the
- 8:24ten commandments, Thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not commit adultry. If
- 8:28you don't follow his commandments and his teachings. But you actually do believe that
- 8:33Jesus is God, you're committing a mortal sin. Just by your refusal,
- 8:39you're actually committing the sin of Satan, who said he could set himself up
- 8:43as his own God. You know, like liberal politicians who say, I
- 8:48don't care what the church says, I support abortion and homosexuality and all that,
- 8:52they're committing a mortal sin. That's scandal. That's there's many related sins
- 8:56actually there. But even a very otherwise good, moral decent person who refuses
- 9:05to believe the words of God commits some moral sin because the consequences of believing
- 9:13that Jesus is God is believing that he truly is God and everything he says
- 9:18is true and right, And it's our fault if we can't work our way
- 9:24through it and come to believe what he said, it's not his fault.
- 9:28But before we get to that, as usual, start with the radio reply
- 9:33series. The questioner who has been accosting the priests. I am honest without
- 9:41being religious. But I know many people who are religious without being honest.
- 9:46Well that's certainly true. But as they say, now, you take your
- 9:56own virtue as a standard and proceed to find other people want to by measuring
- 10:00it. When measured by it, it often happens that those who practice no
- 10:05religion canonize themselves as modern models of perfection and regard religious people as sinners and
- 10:13hypocrites. But those who go to church are constantly told of their own failings
- 10:18and that they must not judge others. It would be better for you to
- 10:20take up your own religious duties. As a matter of fact, it is
- 10:24impossible to be really honest without being religious. Religion is the highest form of
- 10:31honesty, a strict duty to God. Take this case, say, a
- 10:35man named Jones owes one man a hundred dollars and another man a dollar.
- 10:41He pays the dollar, but not the hundred. Smith, on the other
- 10:45hand, owes one hundred and to another one dollar, but pays the hundred,
- 10:48neglecting to pay the dollar. Whose is the greater dishonesty? Now each
- 10:54man knows ow's a tremendous debt to God, and a lesser one to his
- 10:56neighbor. You may pay the less you may pay the lesser, but you
- 11:03neglect the greater. Your neighbor, who who fulfills his religious duties at least
- 11:09tries to pay the greater, though he may seem to you to neglect the
- 11:13lesser. But he is the better man, at least in so far as
- 11:18he attempts to pay the greater. The man who is just to his neighbor
- 11:22but does not bother about his religious duties is the kind of man who pays
- 11:28the baker for the bread he puts into his body, but nothing to God
- 11:31for the body he puts the bread into. Religion is a strict duty of
- 11:37justice to God, acknowledging our indebtedness to him. If religious people sometimes fail
- 11:43in honesty to ward their fellow man, I do not justify it. But
- 11:48their creditors are insignificant compared to the Creator, who supplied you with all that
- 11:54you have and receives no acknowledgement from you. You are both wrong. You
- 12:00are both in the wrong. But I would rather be in the position of
- 12:03those you condemn, if I had the choice to be made, which of
- 12:07course has not to be made. The religion may save them despite their faults.
- 12:13Your honesty will not save you. He goes on, Well, I
- 12:20believe in God, would practice no religion. They answer thus charges gives way
- 12:26to excuses. It is something to believe in God, But what notice do
- 12:31you take of God? You believe in the existence of your own parents.
- 12:35But I am sure you paid them more attention than you have ever paid to
- 12:37God, in whom you say you often believe. Well, that gets to
- 12:45the heart of the matter, doesn't it. If you love me, you
- 12:46will keep my commandments. Of course, as Christians, we will try and
- 12:54fail. The only time you stop failing is when you stop trying. God
- 13:01knows that. That's the entire reason Jesus sacrificed his life for our sins.
- 13:07We could not do it on our own. Those who disbelieve in God,
- 13:13who disbelieve in Christianity and say they are moral in their own right, their
- 13:20secularists, their modernists, their humanists. Their morality falls short because all morality
- 13:26comes from God, and the first of the ten commandments is to worship God,
- 13:33one God, the Father, above all else. When the religious Jew
- 13:41asked Jesus, what must you do to be saved? He said, keep
- 13:43the demmandments. He said, which wants? Which are the ten commandments?
- 13:48You know, as Jesus didn't say, honor the Sabbath. Why Because,
- 13:52as Jesus said, the Sabbath was made for man, not man. For
- 13:56the Sabbath, Yes, our tora observe it. In seven day Adventist brothers
- 14:01and sisters would are probably standing on their heads and screaming right now since I
- 14:05said that. But Jesus didn't say that. He said, don't steal,
- 14:11don't commit adultery. But what else? Love God with all your heart and
- 14:16your neighbor as yourself. Our first duty is to God. So when someone
- 14:22says to me, I am a good Christian. I believe in God,
- 14:26but I don't believe in baptism. I believe it's just a symbol, Jesus
- 14:35will understand. Well, okay, yeah, Jesus certainly understands you. But
- 14:41Jesus also understands you're not doing what he asks. Now, Jesus says,
- 14:46asks many things that I fail in daily. Sure, you feel in daily.
- 14:52But these basics, these basics are so easy. Why wouldn't you just
- 14:58do what Jesus asked? I mean, are you so arrogant? You think
- 15:03you know better than God and his Church and his Bible. Let's look at
- 15:09a reading. These are from Acts on the day of Pentecost. Peter said
- 15:18to the Jewish people, let the whole house of Israel know for certain that
- 15:22God made him both Lord and Christ. This Jesus, whom you crucified.
- 15:28Now, when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and
- 15:30they asked Peter and the other possibles, what are we to do, my
- 15:33brothers. Peter said to them, repent and be baptized, every one of
- 15:37you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins,
- 15:41and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promises
- 15:45made to you and to your children, and to all those far off whomever
- 15:50the Lord our God will call. He testifieth with many other arguments, for
- 15:58the promise has been made to you and to your children, and to all
- 16:02those far off, whomever the Lord our God will call. He testified with
- 16:06many other arguments, and was exporting them, save yourselves from this corrupt generation.
- 16:11Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand persons were
- 16:18added that day. Now, this passage hopefully is so familiar to you so
- 16:26called cradle Catholics, y'all that were brought up in the faith, not converts
- 16:30like me, that it probably doesn't warrant much thought. Baptism is a sacrament
- 16:38of the Catholic Church, and what Catholic would doubt the necessess that would doubt
- 16:45it necessary see if I can get my tenses right for the salvation, given
- 16:49the plain words of our Lord and the teachings of his Church. While many
- 16:56stumble for words when confronted by evangelical Protestants who firmly a sort, ye must
- 17:00be born again, quoting the King James and the Old English, as if
- 17:04that means anything, Catholics who had the Catechism should at least know the rest
- 17:11of Jesus's commandment. You must be born again by water and the Spirit.
- 17:18He has clearly said the Christian must be baptized in water and received the Holy
- 17:25Spirit as plainly as he commanded us to eat His body and blood in the
- 17:29sacrament of the Eucharist, and the divorce is not permissionable for Christians. Later
- 17:34we find that new Christians were baptized, but did not receive the fullness of
- 17:38the Holy Spirit until the apostles laid hands on them. This is known as
- 17:42the sacrament of confirmation. Baptism opens us to the Holy Spirit. Confirmation gives
- 17:49us the fullness of the Spirit. Two sacraments. Confirmation can only be received
- 17:56through the Catholic Church, through the authority of apostolic succession. The power to
- 18:03bind and loose. No Protestant church has a valid sacrament of confirmation. All
- 18:11Christians, regardless of denomination, not only can be baptized, they can be
- 18:18baptized by someone who's not even not even Christian, so long as they say,
- 18:23I baptize you in the name of the Fathers and the Son, and
- 18:26the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost. You know if they're English, because
- 18:30it's the faith of the person being baptized that matters. All Christians of every
- 18:37denomination have a duty to be baptized because Jesus said it. Catholics who believe
- 18:47the Bible and the teachings of the Church, sacred tradition is passed down by
- 18:52the apostles. I understand that the sacraments are real, both physical and spiritual,
- 18:57instituted by God and necessary SI. Unfortunately, as a convert to Catholicism,
- 19:03I can tell you that many Protestants do not. Can also tell you
- 19:07many Catholics do not. I should have said faithful Catholics perhaps, or Catholics
- 19:14who are well educated in morals and doctrine catechized. But for Protestants this is
- 19:21foreign language. For too far, too many. Protestantism is founded on solo
- 19:27fide and solo scriptura. Faith alone solo fide, and the Bible alone solo
- 19:33scriptura, among the main meditating factors that calls me to explore the writings of
- 19:41the or Church and eventually to convert to Catholicism. Was attending a couple of
- 19:45Protestant universities. Actually I went to a Methodist and a Southern Baptist College,
- 19:52university whatever, not exactly on the level of my beloved University of George,
- 20:00where I did most of my study. Let's just say their academics were severely
- 20:04wanting. The Methodist college I went to not only put me over fifty thousand
- 20:14dollars in debt for just attending one semester, but the initials of it stood
- 20:22for last chance with an expletive in the middle to most people who went to
- 20:30the university and flunked out and realized, or whose parents were willing to essentially
- 20:40buy a degree for them as they drank and slept their way through college.
- 20:45The Southern Baptist University was a bit more strict, but i'll bite my tongue.
- 20:53Let's say there were some intelligent people there, but if they were,
- 20:57I rarely, if ever encountered them. No, that's a that's another show
- 21:06for another day. But anyway, I'm sorry I said a Methodist. No,
- 21:12that was a Presbyterian college, the one with the initials, Yes,
- 21:17that was a Presbyterian college. Sorry, I never went to a Methodist college.
- 21:22I would like to be accurate. I went to a Presbyterian college that
- 21:26became a university and a Southern Baptist university, neither of which were up to
- 21:33snuff. Of I'm gonna bite my tongue again. I could really talk about
- 21:41higher education quite a bit, but that's not the role of that, it's
- 21:45not the purpose of this podcast. Let me just say that although the University
- 21:51of Georgia when I went there late nineties early two thousands, was certainly a
- 21:56secular public university, it was far more traditional and traditionally Christian in what was
- 22:04taught, and conservative, patriotic, even really just open to everyone. You
- 22:15could sit there and have an honest debate and discussion with a communist, radical,
- 22:21liberal, radical, homosexual, it did not matter. Open debate and
- 22:27discussion was encouraged, and whether it was between students or students and professors,
- 22:33it was respectful. And I mean, you know, one of my professors
- 22:37had been in the Clinton administration. He was a radical lefty and I'm listening
- 22:41to Russia Imball every day at noon and after Classic we got to get a
- 22:45beer together and just sit down and we would laugh and we would argue.
- 22:49There was none of these safe spaces or you know, snowflake mentality. Everything
- 22:56was open to discussion and debate. It was a It was a true classical
- 23:02education when I was there. That's all I can say. When I went
- 23:07to a certain Southern Baptist university, so many topics were off, not allowed
- 23:12for discussion, that we couldn't have an honest conversation at all. And I
- 23:21thought I would fit in more culturally there than I did at a public university.
- 23:29I did not. I was ostracized and at the Presbyterian University before I
- 23:34went to the University of Georgia, it was so radical left communist that not
- 23:45only was I made to feel very unwelcome there, but they actually I may
- 23:52have been one of the first people in America to be docked. They actually
- 23:56put my name and social security out on the Internet and encouraged people to come
- 24:00to my house and threatened me. When I found out that they were taking
- 24:08student funds and backdooring it to a Palestinian terrorist organization, and dared speak about
- 24:18that. So religious colleges are often far worse than public universities. And having
- 24:30spoken with you know, I never went to a Catholic university. Didn't get
- 24:33the opportunity. I converted after the point where I could still you know,
- 24:37afford to go to school. I had to work for a living. A
- 24:41lot of liberal Catholic colleges and universities are just as bad as the worst communist
- 24:52indoctrination center that calls itself a school of the United States. And we better
- 24:56clean that mess up. But that's still Holy Wade, we're gonna be able
- 25:02to clean that up. Is that answer that question? Who do you say
- 25:06God is? If God is Jesus, and the words of the Bible and
- 25:11the teachings of the Catholic Church has passed down through the apostles who learn directly
- 25:15from Jesus, there's no place for communism and socialism and radical transgendered whatever social
- 25:25justice crap. But apparently a lot of people who call themselves Catholic, you
- 25:30know, just like Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi, are college professors or college
- 25:36administrators or bureaucrats and whatever system. And those people really need a good priest,
- 25:49a good professor, a confessor to set them straight, or they're in
- 25:56danger of going to hell and leading many, many, many students, young
- 26:02people to hell. And the responsibility will fall on them greater than it will
- 26:07those they led astray. It's going to fall especially upon the priests and bishops
- 26:11and the pope who is not correcting them. The shepherd bears far more blame
- 26:19than the sheep. Well that was a tangent. Where was I? So
- 26:32all right? So we talked about soli fide and sola scripture. When I
- 26:37was at said Southern Baptist University, I was very shocked, and also at
- 26:45the Presbyterian when they I was told by professors, people with degrees and theology
- 26:52and such that baptism was only symbolic and the only thing necessary to be saved
- 26:57is faith. Well, that's soul of feed a faith alone, that's actually
- 27:03the sole tenant besides the Bible alone. Of Protestantism. They would say,
- 27:07God is not legalist, not legalistic, He's not going to hold you to
- 27:11the letter of the law. All that's necessaries is faith to believe in Jesus
- 27:17says your Lord and Savior and good will be saved, and they'd always say
- 27:19once saved, always saved, No sin can separate you from God, and
- 27:22all that is absolutely false. Jesus never said any of that. They made
- 27:30that up on their own. I mean, you know, can me a
- 27:34Bible and show me a Protestant who believes any of that, and I'll show
- 27:37them where the Bible says they're wrong five different ways. But they won't listen.
- 27:42They just won't listen. I was even told that, you know,
- 27:47Billy Graham, and I hope this isn't true, it buys members of his
- 27:49family not to be baptized because it was empty symbolism. I mean, I
- 27:55really hope it's not true. I would like to think that Billy Graham did
- 27:57a great deal of good in this world. I went to school with his
- 28:03grandkids. I mean, I know the family. I would hate to think
- 28:07that he actually said that. But even though I believe his faith was heartfelt,
- 28:17and I hope that's not true. But you got to remember, he
- 28:19did not have the teachings handed on by the Apostles of Christ to his church,
- 28:23preserved intact through generations by the guarantee of the always Spirit. Simply put,
- 28:29baptism is necessary and Catholic should firmly believe the words of Jesus that one
- 28:34must be baptism ties to be a Christian and to be saved only if one
- 28:41is of another religion or completely ignorant of baptism, with the lack of baptized.
- 28:47With the lack of being baptized not be a sin of a mission regardless,
- 28:52Baptism seals the candidate and joins him to the body of Christ. Baptism
- 28:56protects ones from one from willing demonic possession and opens the soul to the Holy
- 29:03Spirit. Baptism binds the Christian to Christ. What did Jesus say specifically of
- 29:08baptism Matthew twenty eight. Jesus came and spoke to them, Authority in heaven
- 29:14and earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all
- 29:18nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the
- 29:22Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe all the commands I gave you.
- 29:26And look, I am with you always, yes to the end of time.
- 29:32Well, of course, Prodestans believed that the Catholic Church parted ways with
- 29:37Jesus and what became invalid. Of course, the very Bible they say is
- 29:42the sole authority, says that Jesus is with his Church, his apostles,
- 29:47and their successors till the end of time. But even if they were to
- 29:51deny that, they cannot deny that he said, baptize them, every one
- 29:55of them, in the name of the Father's Son, the Holy Spirit.
- 30:00Protestant online just a couple of weeks ago said you won't find the words Father,
- 30:04Son and Holy Spirit in the Bible. That's not even Christian. That's
- 30:07a Catholic invention. I said, okay, pick up your Bible, go
- 30:11to Matthew twenty eight, and then quoted the words of one of the popes
- 30:18I can't remember which one. Ignorance of the Bible is ignorance of Christ Mark
- 30:22sixteen sixteen. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. Whoever does not
- 30:30believe will be condemned. But it says whoever believed ann is baptized, you
- 30:36have to believe in order to be baptized, So that qualifies that statement.
- 30:40John three five. Jesus replied, in all truth, I tell you,
- 30:44no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born through water and the
- 30:48spirit. Watch her, watch her, not pray the Billy Graham prayer of
- 30:57I believe you were a Lord for you at me I see on. That's
- 31:00all good. That's you that you have to have faith, but water is
- 31:06also necessary. I don't I don't doubt the faith of any devout Christian.
- 31:10I mean, I don't care what denomination you are. If you love God,
- 31:12you're a brother of mine in Christ. Okay, My problem is they
- 31:17generally hate Catholics, But I wish and pray that all Christians will rejoin the
- 31:22One Holy Catholic and Apist Church because we have the fullness of truth. It's
- 31:29so much easier to get to Heaven as a Catholic than it is if you're
- 31:34confused about all this stuff. But again, you know, my role is
- 31:37not to judge someone else's heart. I don't do that. But they have
- 31:45to answer the same question I have to answer that you have to answer.
- 31:48If you love God, why would you not do what He asks and even
- 31:53tells you specifically to do. We all see in We all buy the clear
- 32:00word of God and his commandments. But why would we avoid so easy a
- 32:06request is baptism, just to have a little water put on your head,
- 32:13and in the words I baptize you in the name of the Father, of
- 32:15the Son of the Holy Spirit. Why in the world would someone not do
- 32:21that. I mean, I realized this is a Catholic audience, and I
- 32:23probably made the assumption that the vast majority of those who are listening are baptized.
- 32:29But I mean that is a gross assumption. This is a podcast,
- 32:34it's on the internet, and I mean it's going out all over the world,
- 32:37and I mean, by no means are we homogeneous? Right? If
- 32:43you hear it, If you hear this, please remember the words of our
- 32:45Lord beginning that what is necessary for salvation is to love God with all your
- 32:50heart and your neighbors, yourself. Keep It's so easy because He actually just
- 32:54gives us the instructions. He gives you the words to say and tell us.
- 32:58You know, to be dunked in, has some water put in your
- 33:00head, and you don't have to worry about it. Believe in love our
- 33:05foundational and essential. And they're the first two steps. But that's the two
- 33:09steps on an eternal journey. Daily the Christians should grow in love and knowledge
- 33:15of God. The Christians should also grow in holiness. It's not easy for
- 33:20anyone, as it's utterly opposed to human nature and well due to original sin
- 33:24of our first parents and our personal disordered passions, we want things that aren't
- 33:30right. But as Pope John Paul a Second would always remind us, in
- 33:38the face of all trials, be not afraid. Jesus is our God,
- 33:43our Lord, our master, our high priests who you say, God is
- 33:46Lord, God Master or high priests, but also our brother. He knows
- 33:51better than anyone, how infallible and ignorant. Even the best among us truly
- 33:55is the smartest man, the most holy man, is still nothing compared to
- 34:00God, compared to Jesus, and Jesus understands because he's our brother. His
- 34:07human nature was the same as ours. He gave a simple instructions that anyone
- 34:13could do, regardless of mental or physical capacity. You could be severely handicap
- 34:17or or or mentally deficient. I mean, we'll just say mentally handicap.
- 34:23You can still be baptized, especially you should be because you know you might
- 34:31have to meet your maker before others. And not only did he give us
- 34:43just essential instructions, he told us why He told us how, and he
- 34:50infused his own incredible grace into these simple acts of sacraments he gave in each
- 34:57one of he gave to his well. Like I said, anyone can be
- 35:00baptized right. Anybody can be married and a valid marriage if the conditions are
- 35:06right. But a marriage and a baptism are the same, are universal through
- 35:10the Catholic Church. We have the u churs, we have confession, we
- 35:14have priestly orders, we have last rights, etc. These he gave to
- 35:22his one and only church that he founded and guaranteed to act in his stead,
- 35:27to provide these sacraments to all believing God until he comes again. I
- 35:32could go, and I have. I've done a whole series on the sacraments.
- 35:38But just look at Matthew seven twenty one. It is not anyone who
- 35:44says to me, Lord Lord, who will enter the Kingdom of heaven,
- 35:46but the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. When the
- 35:50day comes, many will say to me, Lord Lord, did we not
- 35:52prophesy in your name, drive out names in your name, and work many
- 35:57miracles in your name? I always shall then tell him their faces. I
- 36:00have never known you. Away from me, evil doers. Therefore, anyone,
- 36:06everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them, will
- 36:08be like a sensible man who builds his house on a rock. Okay,
- 36:14the house on the rock stands. I don't need to keep going that Luke,
- 36:16he says, why do you call me lord, lord and not do
- 36:19what I say? Everyone who comes to me and listens to my words and
- 36:22acts on them, I will show you what such a person he is.
- 36:25Such a person's like command and build his house on Yeah. And John,
- 36:30anyone who hears my words and does not keep them faithfully is not I ushul
- 36:34judge that person. I have not coming to judge the word, but say
- 36:37the world, world. Anyone who rejects me and refuses my word has his
- 36:43judge already, for the word itself that I has spoken, will be his
- 36:46judge on the last day. John fourteen, If you love me, you
- 36:51will keep my commandments. Whoever holds my commandments and keeps them as the one
- 36:53who loves me. We could go on and on, but the bottom line
- 36:59is how many people? How many people both like all Protestants claim to love
- 37:08Jesus but reject his commandments, and unfortunately, most Catholics who view the Eucharist
- 37:19or baptism as symbolic, or who don't follow Catholic teaching on marriage or contraception.
- 37:25I mean, there's a big problem for a lot of people. If
- 37:30you say that Jesus is God, you have to keep his commandments. Faith
- 37:36alone is not enough. The Protestant idea of solofide is faith alone is enough
- 37:40for salvation. And Jesus just said, you say to me, Lord Lord,
- 37:45that means you're acknowledging him as God. But you didn't keep his ammandments,
- 37:50commandments, and he would say, go away from me, you evil
- 37:52do or I do not know you. I don't understand how that's so hard
- 38:00for people to grasp. I don't understand how. I went to a Southern
- 38:07Baptist university with about fifteen thousand people who claimed that all Catholics were going to
- 38:13hell because we weren't really Christian. But none of them believe the actual words
- 38:19of Jesus Christ. As in, you must be baptized, you must be
- 38:24born again of water in the blood. You must eat my flesh and drink
- 38:29my blood, or you have no life in you. He said to his
- 38:32apostles, those who hear you hear me. Those who reject you reject he
- 38:37who sent me on you. Peter the Rock, I will found my church,
- 38:42and it will last into all ages, the gates of hell when I
- 38:45prevail against it. Or very simply in all four Gospels, when Jesus explicitly
- 38:52condemned divorce, you would think the one thing if they were confused about everything
- 38:58else, if you were going to believe the words of the Bible, you
- 39:05believe in baptism and marriage. And they actually reject. All Protestants reject the
- 39:12sacrament of marriage, beginning with King Henry the eighth, and then the Lutherans
- 39:17just fell right in line. And all Protestants say that marriage is just a
- 39:22contract, basically a government document that can just be torn up. A lawyer
- 39:27can get involved. It has nothing to do with the church. Saint Peter
- 39:30said marriage is a sacrament. Jesus said divorce is not permissible. All Protestants
- 39:37reject that, and yet claim to love God and keep his commandments. But
- 39:44I mean, as Catholics, are we that much better? I mean,
- 39:46how many Catholics vote for Joe Biden and Nancy Belosi, who support abortion,
- 39:52who claimed to be Catholic for Pete's sake. If you believe that Jesus is
- 39:58God, I said, it's a rat coal position. There is no compromise.
- 40:07You know. Protestants will get in your face and yell you must be
- 40:12born again. But we should understand and explain to them that command means you
- 40:21must be baptized. Do it now. If you haven't been baptized, get
- 40:27baptized now. If you have been baptized. Let's repeat our baptismal promise.
- 40:35This is the renewal of the baptismal promise. Do you reject Satan? I
- 40:38do, and all his works I do, and all his empty promises I
- 40:44do. Do you believe in God, the Father, Almighty, Creator or
- 40:47creator of heaven and earth? I do. Do you believe in Jesus Christ
- 40:52has only signed our Lord, who was born in the Virgin Maryam, was
- 40:54crucified, died and was buried, rose from the dead, and is now
- 40:59seated at the right hand of the Father. We answer, I do.
- 41:04Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion
- 41:07of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body in life
- 41:10of a lasting We answer, I do, God the all powerful Father and
- 41:16our Lord Jesus Christ has given us in new birth by water and the Holy
- 41:22Spirit, and forgiven all our sins. May he also keep us faithful to
- 41:27our Lord Jesus Christ forever and ever. We answer Amen. This is actually
- 41:34it's good to pray this, renew our baptism with vows daily. If you
- 41:39are so blessed as have a family. I am not very good for the
- 41:47father of the family, especially if there's no father. The mother can certainly
- 41:52do this. Get some holy water, blessed water, which is what we
- 41:58use in baptism every night before bed or every morning upon rising. Sprinkle your
- 42:05kids and cross yourself on your forehead or whatever with the holy water, and
- 42:09renew these baptismal vowels if you don't have time. I believe it was Saint
- 42:15Thomas Aquinas who said whenever he felt any form of temptation of sin, he
- 42:22would say, I renounced. I'll see, I renounced Satan and give myself
- 42:28holy to Christ, sort of a summation of the baptismal vowels. Baptism is
- 42:37so simple, but it's the initiation into Christianity. What excuse do you have
- 42:45not to do it? If you say, faith alone is enough, and
- 42:49you don't need to be engaged in empty symbolism. You know, Jesus,
- 42:53as I said, acknowledged that to call him Lord was proof of faith.
- 42:57But recall his other words. Not everyone who says to me, Lord Lord
- 43:01will enter into the Kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the
- 43:06will of my father. Many of me will say on that day, Lord
- 43:09Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out
- 43:13demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?
- 43:17Mighty deeds? My gosh, I think of the Pentecostal ministers that have had
- 43:22these great healing ceremonies on television. You know, they like slap somebody in
- 43:27the head and they're suddenly cured of cancer or something, you know whatever.
- 43:30They did mighty deeds in the name of Jesus. And of course Jesus's name
- 43:36is very powerful. But what does he say? Then? I will declare
- 43:40them solemnly. I never knew you depart from me, you evil doers.
- 43:47As simply as I can state anything, if Jesus asks you to do it,
- 43:54do it. That is the consequence of the question I asked yesterday,
- 44:02who do you believe God is If you believe Jesus Christ is God, you
- 44:10then have a duty to do what he says to the very best of your
- 44:17ability, and asking forgiveness when you fail. Everything hinges on that question.
- 44:28You can't have it both ways. You can't say, yeah, I know
- 44:31what Jesus said, but I think, because you know, my church teaches
- 44:36this, he didn't really mean that. What he actually meant was, you
- 44:40know, no, it doesn't work that way, But fifty thousand Protestant denominations
- 44:46believe it does. Fifty thousand Protestant denominations disagree with each other, and all
- 44:52of them disagree with the one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church is founded by Jesus
- 44:58Christ and guaranteed against all error until He comes again, until the end of
- 45:01time. And by some estimates, two thirds of Catholics do not believe fully
- 45:10in the teachings of the Church. That's the reason our world's in such a
- 45:20bad state. We can't blame the Muslims, No we can't. I mean,
- 45:24yeah, they cause trouble in sometimes like nine to eleven. I'm not
- 45:30going to minimize that. If you listen to my show that I did on
- 45:32nine to eleven. You know, it took everything I had not to break
- 45:37down tears. I mean, you know, I'm not one of those some
- 45:39people did something you know, No, no, that was horrible and I'll
- 45:45never forget it. You know, not all Muslims. I have good Muslim
- 45:50friends, you know, we we can disagree on things and still treat each
- 45:52other's respect. But we cannot blame the Muslims for the problems in America.
- 46:00We cannot blame the Mexicans for the problems in America. We can't blame the
- 46:04English or the Canadians. We can't blame Buddhists or Hindus or Sikhs. America
- 46:14has been a majority Christian nation from its founding, and we better start blaming
- 46:21a lot of people who still claim to be Christian. Granted, Communism,
- 46:28socialism and all that they are. Yeah, the liberalism is, you know,
- 46:35the mental disease that's tearing our country asunder. But the answer to it
- 46:42is orthodox Christianity. And there are far too many people that claim to be
- 46:45Christian who vote Democrat or are liberal Republicans like the Bushes. As I've said,
- 46:52they're many ways worse than the Obamas or the Clintons, the mccains go
- 47:00down the list, you know, but they're also you know, many,
- 47:06many people who want to do right, who have not embraced an anti Christian
- 47:14ideology and are just using the title of Christianity to advance their evil, godless,
- 47:21socialistic, communistic agenda. We need to bring as best we can those
- 47:29people into orthodox understanding of Christianity, which will in the end mean bringing everyone
- 47:37back into the Catholic Church. But before we can, as Jesus would say,
- 47:45take the spec out of our brother's eye, we have to take the
- 47:46plank out of our own. So who do you believe God is? And
- 47:53if you believe God is Jesus Christ, and in his Church, which he
- 48:00through which he guaranteed his teachings, the very Church who compiled in the Bible
- 48:06the Old Testament and wrote the New Testament, the only reason, the only
- 48:08vehicle through which anyone has a belief in Christianity whatsoever, which is the one
- 48:14Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. If you disregard or disagree with one of the
- 48:22teachings of Christ and his Church on what authority do you do? So can
- 48:30you say Jesus Christ is Lord and not follow his commandments. That's why I
- 48:38say this is the question upon which everything hinges. And yeah, I failed
- 48:45daily. Like I said, the only time we would stop failing is when
- 48:50we stopped trying. It's no excuse just to give up anyway. In the
- 48:58words of Saint Padre Pia, pray, hope and don't worry and I'll talk
- 49:02with you all tomorrow.
