2:04
Speaker 3: this weekend as far as football victories go, with Marshall,
2:08
Speaker 3: WVU and Georgia all losing. The Cowboys played to a
2:12
Speaker 3: tie last night, which should never happen. I'll get in
2:15
Speaker 3: that a little bit later. Wrong. But the one thing
2:16
Speaker 3: we do have to celebrate sports wise us Reds fans.
2:19
Speaker 3: The Reds are head to the playoffs. They'll be taking
2:21
Speaker 3: all the dowagers left this week, so Jim and I
2:22

2:34
Speaker 3: It is not every day on the Big Time Radio
2:36
Speaker 3: show here we get a visit for one of our sales.
2:38
Speaker 3: Weasels here in the building, and with good reason. We
2:41
Speaker 3: don't normally put them on the air because we prefer
2:44
Speaker 3: to have them out selling to pay my bloated salary.
2:47
Speaker 3: But today hearing for a treat because out of her
2:50
Speaker 3: pen in the upstairs office that we call the fund Zone,
2:52
Speaker 3: it's Bobby Spry.
2:53
Speaker 5: How you doing I'm doing well. How are you, Dave?
2:55
Speaker 3: I am doing fine. Why are you in my studio?
2:59
Speaker 6: Oh?
2:59
Speaker 5: Well, I really want to talk about Trigger beat today.
3:01
Speaker 3: Trick or Beat? Do you want to tell the trigger
3:03
Speaker 3: story or about there you go right ahead. So last week,
3:06
Speaker 3: Miss Spry sends me a text and she said, can
3:10
Speaker 3: I come on the show to talk about Trigger? Well
3:13
Speaker 3: in the world of sales up there, and I'm surrounded
3:15
Speaker 3: by all the weasels up there. I presume that Trigger
3:18
Speaker 3: must be some sort of a new sales tool because
3:20
Speaker 3: they all had these really cool names, and I thought, oh, okay,
3:23
Speaker 3: it's some kind of a new sales tool that she
3:25
Speaker 3: wants to talk about. So I go and I ask
3:28
Speaker 3: the sales manager Sean, I say, Bobby wanted to come
3:31
Speaker 3: on to talk about trigger, and then he responds, I
3:35
Speaker 3: think she meant trick or beats. So how does trigger
3:40
Speaker 3: then become trigger Beat?
3:41
Speaker 5: I think we can all agree that we used talk
3:43
Speaker 5: to text to save time, and that's what happened. And
3:47
Speaker 5: of course I didn't proof read because I'm in a
3:49
Speaker 5: sales weasel and not in your line of work.
3:51
Speaker 3: So there we are all right, there you go, So
3:53
Speaker 3: trick or Beat is coming back to the ballpark, Go
3:56
Speaker 3: More Ballpark, and it will be when that's correct.
3:59
Speaker 5: It's going to be two Tuesday, October the twenty eighth,
4:01
Speaker 5: and this year marks the nineteenth annual celebration of this event,
4:05
Speaker 5: all right, And.
4:05
Speaker 3: For those and we'll have Woody on to talk about it.
4:07
Speaker 3: But you're on for like a kind of a different
4:09
Speaker 3: reason because we are, you know, we trying to get
4:11
Speaker 3: sponsored for this thing. That's why I've got you on.
4:13
Speaker 3: And you got some sponsorship we'll talk about. But for
4:15
Speaker 3: those who aren't aware of what tricker beat is, why
4:17
Speaker 3: don't you explain the whole concept?
4:19
Speaker 7: Thank you.
4:19
Speaker 5: I'm glad you asked, because in my world, I feel
4:22
Speaker 5: like everyone knows about tricker Beat, but I have had
4:24
Speaker 5: several people ask.
4:24
Speaker 3: Me because it's been going on nineteen years nineteen years exactly.
4:28
Speaker 5: And if you're entrenched in the community, you've participated in
4:31
Speaker 5: tricker be at one point. But it's one of our
4:33
Speaker 5: favorite community traditions. We bring together more than three thousand
4:36
Speaker 5: families for a night of Halloween.
4:38
Speaker 3: Funds three thousand, three thousand, three thousand people, and that's
4:43
Speaker 3: why we do it in at least.
4:44
Speaker 5: We have success. Okay, all right, go ahead, correct, good,
4:47
Speaker 5: and it's just a fun night of Halloween. We keep
4:51
Speaker 5: it safe. It's a well lit environment. You don't have
4:54
Speaker 5: to worry about checking the candy when you get home
4:56
Speaker 5: with the kids. In today's world, I feel like any
5:00
Speaker 5: safety that we can provide for our children is greatly appreciated.
5:05
Speaker 5: But right now, we have about thirteen local businesses who
5:07
Speaker 5: have already signed on and we're hoping to add about
5:10
Speaker 5: ten more to that.
5:10
Speaker 3: Now, do you have a list of some of the
5:12
Speaker 3: businesses or are we still putting that together right now?
5:14
Speaker 5: We are still putting into Okay, all right.
5:16
Speaker 3: But about thirteen how many? How many do we need
5:18
Speaker 3: total to make this thing a success?
5:20
Speaker 5: Around twenty twenty one?
5:21
Speaker 3: Okay, so we got about eight ten slots available.
5:25
Speaker 5: Yes, that's correct. And to me, one of the best
5:28
Speaker 5: parts is watching business owners and their staff like come out, yeah,
5:32
Speaker 5: dress up for Halloween, hand out candy.
5:34
Speaker 3: So if we're not just at when we do this
5:36
Speaker 3: over the ballpark, we're not just asking for you to do.
5:39
Speaker 3: Businesses to write a check, we'll take that, but we
5:41
Speaker 3: really would encourage the businesses to come and with their
5:45
Speaker 3: employees and set up and you know it's you've got
5:47
Speaker 3: a lot of space around the ballpark to do it in,
5:50
Speaker 3: so they have a lot of fun as well.
5:52
Speaker 5: They do. We've had we've had I think it was
5:54
Speaker 5: White Insurance one year that dressed up their entire family
5:57
Speaker 5: came and dressed up like Kiss, and then last year
6:01
Speaker 5: the Capital Market came as the Sanderson Sisters. We just
6:05
Speaker 5: really encourage that type of participation because the kids love
6:09
Speaker 5: it and seeing them smile and be happy and know
6:12
Speaker 5: that they're with their parents, They're in a safe, well
6:15
Speaker 5: lit environment. We also provide pizza for the kids so
6:18
Speaker 5: the families don't have to worry about cooking dinner that evening.
6:20
Speaker 5: It is a great event for your business to be
6:23
Speaker 5: tied to.
6:24
Speaker 3: It is and you get a lot of advertising out
6:25
Speaker 3: of explain you know, in addition to getting to wear
6:28
Speaker 3: the costumes and in addition to helping out the community,
6:32
Speaker 3: what's in it for them otherwise?
6:34
Speaker 8: Well.
6:34
Speaker 5: They are included in over two hundred of the promos
6:37
Speaker 5: on our Beat station, one of seven point three the Beat.
6:40
Speaker 5: They also comes with additional thirty second thirty commercials that
6:44
Speaker 5: they can use anytime in the month of October. We
6:47
Speaker 5: have their logo included on our web page and on
6:50
Speaker 5: our Facebook page and then we provide table space the
6:53
Speaker 5: night of the event for them to pass out candy,
6:55
Speaker 5: also pass out any type of material that you literature, brochures,
7:01
Speaker 5: and we have dnnis who come and bring toothbrushes for
7:03
Speaker 5: the kids.
7:04
Speaker 9: Swag swag.
7:06
Speaker 5: Yes, and it's a fun filled event. It is.
7:10
Speaker 3: Indeed, we're talking to Bobby Spry again. It's nine to
7:12
Speaker 3: fourteen Dave Allen showing five eighty Live Oddly enough, brought
7:15
Speaker 3: to you in part by your hometown baseball team, The Charles,
7:17
Speaker 3: the Dirty Birds, the Selango Law Light. The Night's returning
7:20
Speaker 3: to Go Ballpark November twenty first through January first. Get
7:23
Speaker 3: your tickets in advance by visiting Dblightthnight dot com. And
7:26
Speaker 3: when we say that these that they get these commercials
7:28
Speaker 3: you know, promos is what we call them. But they
7:30
Speaker 3: can also get I mean their name will be listed
7:33
Speaker 3: on those on those on the promo that we call it,
7:35
Speaker 3: you know, it's brought to you by so and so.
7:37
Speaker 3: But they also get commercials that they can run to
7:39
Speaker 3: actually sell their stuff at some point, right.
7:41
Speaker 5: Yes, yeap thirty second thirty commercials in the month of
7:44
Speaker 5: October they can use to whether it's highlighting an event
7:48
Speaker 5: they're having, or just a general services commercial. It's we
7:52
Speaker 5: want to make it beneficial, a mutually beneficial, a partnership
7:56
Speaker 5: for all of us.
7:57
Speaker 3: Now is it like is its specific? Like you know
8:01
Speaker 3: you're only going to like exclusive? Are you only going
8:03
Speaker 3: to have one car dealership or one clothing store or
8:05
Speaker 3: one supermarket or whatever? Do you do any kind of exclusivity?
8:10
Speaker 5: Not for this event, we want everyone to come. We
8:14
Speaker 5: invite politicians, law offices, dental offices.
8:17
Speaker 3: Okay, you said one of the keywords, they're politicians because
8:21
Speaker 3: they're going to be this is an off year, but
8:23
Speaker 3: in twenty twenty six we've already had people. Now we
8:26
Speaker 3: don't here's what we We don't mind them setting up.
8:28
Speaker 3: We don't want them giving stump speeches, you know anything correct?
8:32
Speaker 5: And honestly, the people I vote for I want to
8:34
Speaker 5: see them at every community event, not the ones that
8:37
Speaker 5: benefit them and the numbers in the right.
8:39
Speaker 3: So if you're a perspective politician, you're going to be
8:41
Speaker 3: running for office next year'd be a great opportunity to
8:43
Speaker 3: get out in front of it. And even if you're
8:45
Speaker 3: not running, I mean, just an opportunity for you to
8:47
Speaker 3: get out in front of your constituents and you know,
8:49
Speaker 3: hand out stuff.
8:50
Speaker 5: And see that you're giving back to the community, you're
8:52
Speaker 5: engaging them, you're meeting them where they are.
8:54
Speaker 3: It's a photo Everything to me is a photo op,
8:57
Speaker 3: you know. But anyway, all right, so talk prices.
9:00
Speaker 5: What are we talking about here as far as sponsorship, Yeah,
9:03
Speaker 5: concern our general sponsorship is nine ninety. Now that gets
9:09
Speaker 5: you the inclusion in the two hundred promos, the thirty
9:12
Speaker 5: thirty second commercials, the logo on our website, on our
9:16
Speaker 5: Facebook page, the table space event. And then also a
9:22
Speaker 5: portion of those funds go to buy candy that we
9:24
Speaker 5: distribute for the kids, because a lot of vendors end
9:27
Speaker 5: up running out of candy that night.
9:28
Speaker 3: And so I've seen it happen.
9:30
Speaker 5: It happens every time. And so we load these kids
9:33
Speaker 5: up right at the very beginning.
9:35
Speaker 3: Of their walk, and I'll say, and again we'll be
9:37
Speaker 3: talking about a lot more before we get there as
9:39
Speaker 3: far as the logistics go. But we'll get over there
9:42
Speaker 3: at you know what time does it start at the
9:44
Speaker 3: first sessions?
9:44
Speaker 5: First sessions at six pm.
9:46
Speaker 3: At six pm. We'll get over there about four three
9:48
Speaker 3: thirty four and start setting up we'll already have people.
9:51
Speaker 3: There's a line in line, there is, I mean the
9:53
Speaker 3: line goes all the way down the street. And so
9:58
Speaker 3: we also could use volunteer, I mean, to come out
10:01
Speaker 3: and help out. I mean, our staff is great and
10:03
Speaker 3: this is a promotion of the Beat, but we don't
10:07
Speaker 3: we don't say what's a beat. We're not going to
10:09
Speaker 3: do that, you know, I mean, or the Mountain or whatever.
10:12
Speaker 3: I mean, we're all going to be there from the Mountain,
10:14
Speaker 3: from KWS, from the Beat, We're all there's all hands
10:17
Speaker 3: on deck for us salespeople, you know, engineers, whatever. But
10:21
Speaker 3: if somebody is out there listening and they said I
10:24
Speaker 3: would just like to volunteer, maybe I'm a one person
10:27
Speaker 3: business and I don't want to hand out. I just
10:29
Speaker 3: want we'll find a spot for you.
10:31
Speaker 5: Yeah, that's right. We do have a lot of need
10:33
Speaker 5: when it comes when some of these sponsors come in
10:35
Speaker 5: helping set up the booths, taking them to the location
10:39
Speaker 5: where they're a sign, and then helping distribute pizza to
10:43
Speaker 5: the kids at the evening. We really welcome everyone to
10:46
Speaker 5: come out to this event.
10:48
Speaker 3: All right, So again your business right now, this is
10:51
Speaker 3: a great, great opportunity because not only are the folks
10:55
Speaker 3: going to see you out there? It's fun. We'll start
10:57
Speaker 3: with the fun aspect. You get the dress up, you
10:59
Speaker 3: get down to the businesses have to provide their own candy.
11:01
Speaker 5: They do have to provide their own can't they have to.
11:03
Speaker 3: Provide their own candy? Yes, all right, So you get
11:06
Speaker 3: an opportunity to dress up to hand out candy to
11:09
Speaker 3: the kids. Very very visible. Again, three thousand people are
11:13
Speaker 3: going to see you. Three thousand families are going to
11:16
Speaker 3: see you. In the two different sessions, you get the
11:20
Speaker 3: mentions on the promos that run that says brought to
11:23
Speaker 3: you by I brought to you by. But you also
11:25
Speaker 3: get commercials to sell. If you're a NOTO dealer, you
11:28
Speaker 3: also get commercials to sell the latest forward truck or
11:31
Speaker 3: whatever the case may be, or to the drug store
11:33
Speaker 3: or whatever the case may be.
11:34
Speaker 5: That's right. There are a lot of businesses that I
11:36
Speaker 5: talk to that don't necessarily need or want to do
11:41
Speaker 5: any type of advertising, but they love philanthropic advertising.
11:45
Speaker 3: You get a lot to.
11:46
Speaker 5: Do community events like this, the backpack Attack, the Turkey Drop,
11:51
Speaker 5: that we do anything that's community centered. This is definitely
11:54
Speaker 5: one of those events that you want to attach your name.
11:56
Speaker 3: To all right, So how do businesses get involved? What
11:59
Speaker 3: do they need to do?
12:00
Speaker 5: They can reach They can call here at caller stations here,
12:03
Speaker 5: or they can email Sean Meyer at s E A
12:06
Speaker 5: N dot M E Y E R at WV Radio,
12:12
Speaker 5: and or you can message me on Facebook and I'll
12:14
Speaker 5: direct the you to Sean. Whatever's easiest. If you know me,
12:17
Speaker 5: you know how to reach me.
12:18
Speaker 3: Everybody knows Bobby when you.
12:21
Speaker 5: Live and work here your life. That tends to be
12:24
Speaker 5: the case. It's not because I'm special. It's just a
12:26
Speaker 5: small town.
12:26
Speaker 3: It is a small town. All right. We'll have you
12:28
Speaker 3: on again. And now I'm going to get Woody and
12:30
Speaker 3: the others on, you know, as we get a little
12:31
Speaker 3: bit closer. Give me the date and the times again.
12:33
Speaker 5: It is October eight, twenty eighth. That's on a Tuesday.
12:37
Speaker 5: It's going to be at Go Mart Ballpark with the
12:39
Speaker 5: Dirty Birds. We'll have two sessions, one from six to
12:43
Speaker 5: seven and then the second beginning at seven point thirty,
12:46
Speaker 5: and we will have tickets available. Will announce that in
12:49
Speaker 5: a couple of weeks and they will be picked up
12:50
Speaker 5: here at.
12:50
Speaker 3: Our station show. Because that's some very important thing they
12:53
Speaker 3: have to have tickets and that's just for crowd control purposes.
12:56
Speaker 3: The tickets are free, okay, but we have to have
13:00
Speaker 3: some system where they get the tickets and they have
13:02
Speaker 3: to have and we had an incident. I almost don't
13:04
Speaker 3: want to mention this because it brings out the jerk
13:08
Speaker 3: in me when I say this. Last year we had
13:10
Speaker 3: some bad actors out there trying to sell free tickets.
13:13
Speaker 3: They went online and we're saying trick or Beat is
13:17
Speaker 3: because it does sell out.
13:19
Speaker 5: It does.
13:19
Speaker 3: Tricker Beat has sold out. Trick or Beat has sold out.
13:22
Speaker 3: I got tickets and they were trying to There are
13:25
Speaker 3: no tickets for sale. I know what he went on
13:26
Speaker 3: a rampage about this last year. There are no tickets
13:29
Speaker 3: for sale, but you do have to have the tickets,
13:31
Speaker 3: and once we get the tickets in, we'll let you
13:33
Speaker 3: know when to come and get them. They're free, but
13:35
Speaker 3: just for crowd control purposes, we have to give you
13:37
Speaker 3: a ticket.
13:38
Speaker 5: Yeah, if you follow the Beat page on Facebook, we'll
13:41
Speaker 5: announce it there on air and then a lot of
13:44
Speaker 5: us will be sharing that out to the public.
13:46

Speaker 11: Seasons are changing, the kids are back in school and
14:34
Speaker 11: cooler weather is on the way, but one thing that
14:37
Speaker 11: always remains consistent is the car buying experience at Walker's
14:41
Speaker 11: Chevrolet in Nitro. You see, that's because Gene and Ryan
14:44
Speaker 11: built their business the old fashioned way by making friends
14:48
Speaker 11: There are no gimmicks or games at Walker, just honest,
14:51
Speaker 11: fair deals, and the process at Walker is remarkably simple.
14:54
Speaker 11: They help you find a vehicle that you love and
14:57
Speaker 11: a deal that makes you smile.
14:59
Speaker 3: And don't forget.
15:00
Speaker 11: Walker is still buying cars too now All makes and
15:02
Speaker 11: models are welcome, and they'll give you top dollar for it,
15:05
Speaker 11: even if you plan to buy somewhere else. But why
15:08
Speaker 11: would you? You know, it's good to know that in
15:09
Speaker 11: a world full of constant change, there are some things
15:12
Speaker 11: that remain consistent and that some car dealers still believe
15:16
Speaker 11: in treating you like a friend with a smile and

16:20
Speaker 3: Walley and Whippie Sports. I just head of the Westernian
16:22
Speaker 3: Sports Writers Association. How are you, my friend?
16:24
Speaker 9: I'm good. Good morning to you.
16:26
Speaker 3: Good morning do you too? I want to review the
16:27
Speaker 3: sports weekend. As I mentioned at the top of the show, Jim,
16:30
Speaker 3: not a good weekend for your boy here. You know, Saturday,
16:32
Speaker 3: Marshall loses, WVU loses. Marshall loses even though they score
16:37
Speaker 3: like one hundred points, they still lose. Georgia. You know
16:40
Speaker 3: my Bulldogs been a fan since I was a kid.
16:43
Speaker 3: My Bulldogs get beat for the first time at home
16:45
Speaker 3: since twenty nineteen. I think it was something like that.
16:49
Speaker 3: And then last night Dallas ties Green Bay. There should
16:53
Speaker 3: be no ties in football ever, I mean, I don't
16:58
Speaker 3: care what you have A dance off, you have a
17:00
Speaker 3: fist fight, you know whatever there there there should never
17:03
Speaker 3: be a tie. But I stayed up, watched the whole
17:05
Speaker 3: thing twelve thirty last night, I think, or so yeah,
17:08
Speaker 3: so I'm I'm running on fumes this morning, buddy. So
17:11
Speaker 3: I'm not as young as I used to be, So
17:14
Speaker 3: go ahead and good now, I was gonna say, but
17:16
Speaker 3: the good news is the Reds are in the playoffs.
17:18
Speaker 3: That's right, that's I want to talk about that a
17:20
Speaker 3: little bit as well.
17:21
Speaker 11: So let's time.
17:21
Speaker 3: Want to start with WVU though, I mean I did
17:24
Speaker 3: not attend the game. I was, I bet I watched
17:27
Speaker 3: it at home and there were a very audible chants
17:30
Speaker 3: of fire rich Rod fire rich Rod. Talking to a
17:34
Speaker 3: mutual friend of ours earlier this morning, Speedy Bevans, you
17:38
Speaker 3: know you hear my Metro sports all the time, and
17:39
Speaker 3: he says, what did they expect was going to happen
17:42
Speaker 3: with that? He was going to come in with eighty
17:45
Speaker 3: new players and just say boom, We're we're gonna win
17:47
Speaker 3: the Big twelve championship.
17:48
Speaker 13: I mean, what did they expect? It's it's process. College
17:53
Speaker 13: football is a lot different. As we all know, you're
17:56
Speaker 13: gonna have to play the long game. I think wvu's
17:59
Speaker 13: approaching in the right way and investing. I mean we've
18:02
Speaker 13: heard over the last couple of weeks or months about
18:04
Speaker 13: investing in the athletic program. I think that's gonna be
18:07
Speaker 13: the way to go. You know, you're not gonna have
18:10
Speaker 13: to worry.
18:11
Speaker 9: You're not gonna have to focus on the twenty twenty
18:13
Speaker 9: five season. You're gonna have to focus on the long game.
18:16
Speaker 9: They're building a program. I mean, every college football program
18:21
Speaker 9: is building itself all over again, so every year, every
18:24
Speaker 9: many cases, every year. But I believe you have to
18:27
Speaker 9: have your eye on the long term because you're gonna
18:30
Speaker 9: have to have the facilities, you're gonna have to have
18:32
Speaker 9: nil money, all that type of stuff, which w WU
18:35
Speaker 9: is lining itself up to become a contender. You're in,
18:39
Speaker 9: you're out because you know what, in a couple of years,
18:41
Speaker 9: we could have one super conference and you want to
18:43
Speaker 9: be in that. Thirty six ish teams that get in
18:47
Speaker 9: that super conference have the ability to raise money and
18:50
Speaker 9: have the facilities to compete.
18:52
Speaker 3: You're a popular guy because we have a call for you.
18:56
Speaker 3: You owe somebody money probably all right, bos, but from Charleston,
19:01
Speaker 3: you're on with Jim Workman.
19:02
Speaker 6: Go ahead, I want to ask gim where I can
19:05
Speaker 6: get a copy of Wallis and Whimpies. I'm in the
19:08
Speaker 6: Cistonville area, all right.
19:10
Speaker 9: It is easier than ever to get a copy of
19:13
Speaker 9: Wallis and Whimpies because it's not delivered in print anymore.
19:17
Speaker 9: It's a daily digital product. It gets delivered to your
19:20
Speaker 9: inbox every morning at about six thirty but sometime before
19:24
Speaker 9: seven am you get the daily digital edition of Walies
19:27
Speaker 9: and Whimpies. It's been a change, but you know, when
19:31
Speaker 9: we do a print weekly edition, you know, we always
19:34
Speaker 9: try to focus on the games ahead. We tried not
19:38
Speaker 9: to recap, you know, the games that had just finished.
19:41
Speaker 9: But you know, it gets out of date pretty soon
19:45
Speaker 9: in print. It has to you have a deadline. Like
19:48
Speaker 9: last year, we didn't get the Monday night games in.
19:51
Speaker 9: As soon as the Monday Night games are over, we
19:53
Speaker 9: get those in and it's delivered to your inbox. So
19:56
Speaker 9: Wallywimpy sports dot com. You go on there and it'll
20:00
Speaker 9: take you to the E edition and it's four dollars
20:03
Speaker 9: a month. Four dollars a month, and it gets delivered
20:06
Speaker 9: to your inbox. You can view it on your phone.
20:08
Speaker 9: You can view it on your tablet, your laptop, your desktop.
20:12
Speaker 9: You can print it out, take it with you. I
20:14
Speaker 9: know people that do that, So whatever however you want
20:17
Speaker 9: to do it. It's a daily digital.
20:19
Speaker 6: Now is there not a hard copy at all.
20:23
Speaker 9: Unless you have a xerox. Don't you print it out?
20:26
Speaker 14: No?
20:27
Speaker 9: Right now, there is not. We may do some special
20:31
Speaker 9: edition print editions in the future, but for right now,
20:34
Speaker 9: it gets delivered directly to your inbox.
20:38
Speaker 6: Well, we're old people that we're one hundred years behind
20:44
Speaker 6: in technology, and I'm blind, and I just wanted a
20:50
Speaker 6: hard copies so my wife could read all of the
20:53
Speaker 6: scores to them. Right now. I'm a college football fan,
20:58
Speaker 6: but right now I don't know any scores of anybody
21:01
Speaker 6: because the Charleston because as loud as he is is,
21:05
Speaker 6: it doesn't print all the scorers anymore. So I guess
21:08
Speaker 6: I'm kind of between a rock and heart place. Thanks you,
21:12
Speaker 6: jam all right.
21:13
Speaker 9: Bob, Well, one thing I will address is about Wallies
21:16
Speaker 9: and whimpies. That's unique is every team, every FBS team
21:21
Speaker 9: is in there the schedule and results in all the NFL.
21:24
Speaker 9: I mean, it's really rare to get that. If you
21:27
Speaker 9: think back to the Sporting News back when we were
21:30
Speaker 9: growing up. It's kind of like that in Mad Magazine.
21:34
Speaker 3: You know what I mean, combination of Sporting News and
21:36
Speaker 3: Mad Magazine got the.
21:37
Speaker 9: Goofy guys on the front. It's got sporting news.
21:39
Speaker 3: That's a pretty good way to do it. We're talking
21:41
Speaker 3: to Jim Workman, all right, so let's let's move on
21:44
Speaker 3: to the big red machine. Yes, let's talk about it. Well,
21:48
Speaker 3: did we finish up on WV What do you think
21:50
Speaker 3: of the stadium being named? It was announced on I
21:53
Speaker 3: guess Thursday Friday that Hope Gas was going to be
21:55
Speaker 3: the corporate sponsor. It's going to be now known as
21:57
Speaker 3: the Hope Coliseum. They dropped the gas from so it's
22:00
Speaker 3: just going to be the Hope College scene. I for
22:01
Speaker 3: what I understand programming know, we're gonna have the CEO
22:04
Speaker 3: of Hope Gas on Metro News midday today, So during
22:07
Speaker 3: the twelve o'clock hour, I think, what do you think
22:10
Speaker 3: about that?
22:10
Speaker 9: You know, the success of West Virginia Athletics has a
22:14
Speaker 9: direct effect on the state of West Virginia. I mean,
22:18
Speaker 9: let's face it, it's an investment. You know, people come in
22:22
Speaker 9: every weekend. It's a tourist attraction. It's a money maker.
22:27
Speaker 9: I mean, I have no problem with investing. You know,
22:30
Speaker 9: somebody's going to give you ten million and you just
22:32
Speaker 9: hang a sign up or one hundred million or twenty
22:35
Speaker 9: million or whatever it is, and you hang a sign up.
22:37
Speaker 9: That's that's smort business. And that's how sports has to be.
22:41
Speaker 9: It's West Virginia.
22:42
Speaker 3: It's a necessity now. And you know, and TJ writes
22:45
Speaker 3: a great commentary about it today, by the way, and
22:47
Speaker 3: people will say, well, it's always going to be called
22:49
Speaker 3: the college. We can call it whatever you want. You
22:51
Speaker 3: don't have to give the complete title everything. You can
22:53
Speaker 3: still call it, you know. I mean in Charleston, folks
22:56
Speaker 3: at Gomart took over the ownership of the of the
22:58
Speaker 3: Gomart Ballpark a cup years ago. You can still call
23:01
Speaker 3: it the ballpark. They're not going to come out there
23:02
Speaker 3: after you or anything.
23:04
Speaker 4: Uh.
23:04
Speaker 3: But it's it's a necessity now. I mean, it's it is.
23:07
Speaker 3: It is what it is. And you know, we don't
23:10
Speaker 3: we don't see it as much at at Marshall. That's coming.
23:14
Speaker 3: It's gonna happen. It's gonna happen at every at every
23:16
Speaker 3: college at some point because when you get into nils.
23:19
Speaker 3: It's it's it's a I don't want to say it's
23:21
Speaker 3: an evil necessity, but you got to do it. You
23:25
Speaker 3: have to have it. You you do not survive and
23:27
Speaker 3: you do not compete without corporate dollars. That's that's just
23:29
Speaker 3: the way it is. That's right, all right. So the
23:34
Speaker 3: Reds the Reds, they lost, but because the Mets lost,
23:39
Speaker 3: the Reds are in the playoffs, right.
23:40
Speaker 9: Yeah, Well, I mean it was a long season. Actually,
23:43
Speaker 9: you have to go back to Midsummer when the Reds
23:47
Speaker 9: beat the Mets two games out of three in their series.
23:50
Speaker 9: That was actually the reason why they won the tie breaker.
23:54
Speaker 9: So even though they both lost, you go back to
23:57
Speaker 9: that series and that's why they won, so game matters
24:00
Speaker 9: in the one hundred and sixty two. You know, the
24:03
Speaker 9: Reds a lot of hope for them going into the season.
24:08
Speaker 9: I know we were excited as the caravan came through
24:11
Speaker 9: and a lot of young talent, Terry Francona coming in.
24:14
Speaker 9: He kind of felt, well, they may be a year away,
24:16
Speaker 9: but stranger things have happened in the last ten years.
24:20
Speaker 9: Who would have expected the Kansas City Royals to win
24:23
Speaker 9: the Nationals? The Rangers two years ago. I mean, the
24:28
Speaker 9: fact that they're playing the Dodgers concerns me because you know,
24:32
Speaker 9: the front three pitchers for the Dodgers are pretty much unstoppable.
24:37
Speaker 9: Blake Snell, Yamamoto and Otani have been kind of unstoppable
24:41
Speaker 9: as pitchers. But anything can happen. If the Reds are
24:45
Speaker 9: to win, it's going to be a two to one,
24:46
Speaker 9: three to two game, and they have to have timely hitting.
24:49
Speaker 9: You know, the Reds did not have a batter that
24:52
Speaker 9: hit over two seventy this year. They didn't have a
24:55
Speaker 9: batter that hit twenty five home runs this year. It's
24:59
Speaker 9: a truly a team oriented organization, and uh, you know,
25:03
Speaker 9: they're gonna have to have a little luck. They're gonna
25:05
Speaker 9: have to have some clutch hits and some some good pitching.
25:08
Speaker 3: Who's your overall favorite to win the whole thing?
25:11
Speaker 9: I mean, I mean, if if the Reds don't get
25:16
Speaker 9: past the Dodgers, the Dodgers are gonna win it again.
25:19
Speaker 3: Do you think so?
25:20
Speaker 9: I think so. They've got the pitching, they've they're stacked.
25:22
Speaker 9: I mean, they're just unbelievable.
25:24
Speaker 3: Okay, all right, what about an American league looking at Toronto?
25:27
Speaker 9: Uh, you know, the Yankees probably gonna, you know, be
25:31
Speaker 9: in there. I mean, yeah, Toronto could do it. I mean,
25:36
Speaker 9: I don't I don't know about the American I think
25:38
Speaker 9: the American League is going to be a toss up.
25:41
Speaker 9: I mean, whoever gets hot in the American League is
25:44
Speaker 9: gonna be in the series and they're gonna have to
25:46
Speaker 9: face the Dodgers.
25:46
Speaker 3: All right, So what's wrong with your Cleveland Browns? You
25:50
Speaker 3: and Sean Meyer and my brother in law Ron and
25:52
Speaker 3: uh and Amanda, I mean, what's uh.
25:54
Speaker 9: Well, it's time to it's time to throw in the
25:57
Speaker 9: towel with Flacco.
25:58
Speaker 3: I mean, you know, yeah, I mean you got left though.
26:02
Speaker 3: I mean because they're all hurt, right, I mean they
26:04
Speaker 3: are or inexperience. Is Brian Sipe available? Could you go
26:07
Speaker 3: get him?
26:07
Speaker 9: I'd love to have Brian Sipe. Yeah, another Brian Sipe
26:10
Speaker 9: or Bernie Cozar. But you're probably gonna have to throw
26:14
Speaker 9: one of the rookies in there. I mean, if Joe
26:16
Speaker 9: Flacco is going to throw two interceptions, are you going
26:19
Speaker 9: to get upset with Shador Sanders or Dylan Gabriel for
26:22
Speaker 9: throwing two interceptions? Get him some playing time?
26:24
Speaker 3: Yeah? All right, going back to the Mountaineers. Before we
26:28
Speaker 3: let you go. They got a Friday night game this
26:30
Speaker 3: week there BYU. And that's what is a ten thirty
26:32
Speaker 3: start or something like that.
26:34
Speaker 9: Short turnaround BYU. The Cougars have not really played anybody
26:38
Speaker 9: this year. It's really hard to judge what kind of
26:41
Speaker 9: team they have. So you know, we cope the Mountaineers
26:44

Speaker 3: Tex says dave A. While I was at the game
30:00
Speaker 3: on Saturday, didn't hear any calls for fire rich Rod
30:02
Speaker 3: where I was? Did you hear it on the TV broadcast?
30:05
Speaker 3: I heard it on the TV broadcast. Now, it could
30:07
Speaker 3: have been just a couple of guys standing around close
30:08
Speaker 3: to the microphone. I'm not saying the whole crowd was
30:10
Speaker 3: doing it, but it was very audible on the TV broadcast.
30:13
Speaker 3: And the text goes on to say, just wondering what
30:15
Speaker 3: people were expecting in the true rebuilding year. Well, you
30:17
Speaker 3: know how sports fans can be, whether the Mountaineers or
30:20
Speaker 3: anybody else. They want it, and they want it turned
30:22
Speaker 3: around now, and it's not going to be the year.
30:25
Speaker 3: Tex says, well, Sinclair cave, they're airing Kimmel again. I'm
30:28
Speaker 3: happy they took the mask off for that brief moment
30:30
Speaker 3: to show what they really are a tool for right
30:33
Speaker 3: wing propaganda. Tex says, is Dave getting upset at people
30:36
Speaker 3: making money from free tickets? Is Dave getting mad at
30:39
Speaker 3: the market and at capitalism. I thought you were a
30:41
Speaker 3: capitalist making money off free tickets that have a demand
30:44
Speaker 3: is pure unadulterated capitalists. That's some things are just so stupid.
30:52
Speaker 17: How are their right wing? If they put Kimmel back
30:55
Speaker 17: on the air, how does that make them right?
30:57
Speaker 3: Well? I think that they I don't I don't really know. Well,
31:04
Speaker 3: I mean, sint.
31:04
Speaker 17: Clair, I think there's some merger activity going on, That's exactly.
31:08
Speaker 17: And I think that they're afraid of that FCC guy. Yeah,
31:11
Speaker 17: I think that's what that was all.
31:12
Speaker 3: That's exactly what it was about with them and and
31:14
Speaker 3: Next Star as well. Sinclair's who air is it here?
31:16
Speaker 3: As locally, We're just happy that people know when all
31:19
Speaker 3: the all the hoopla was going on about Kimmel last week,
31:22
Speaker 3: and they were they were blowing up poor Tracy out
31:25
Speaker 3: here out front that we are not w c HS Television.
31:27
Speaker 3: We are not affiliated with them and any and we
31:29
Speaker 3: love them, don't get me wrong, we're all great friends.
31:31
Speaker 3: But I remember remember when we were just last week,
31:36
Speaker 3: and I mean people on our Facebook page and whatever,
31:38
Speaker 3: and I'll never watch you. I mean, this is my theory.
31:41
Speaker 3: I'll never watch your station again. Well you never watch
31:43
Speaker 3: it to begin with, unless you're downloaded the Metro News
31:46
Speaker 3: television happen you're watching Metro News program anyway. U want
31:51
Speaker 3: to start on a bit of a sad note today,
31:54
Speaker 3: have something to tell us.
31:55
Speaker 17: The plumbing went out at the restaurant, and the expense
32:02
Speaker 17: that I would have had to incur to have fixed
32:05
Speaker 17: it was just too much to overwhelm to overcome. So
32:09
Speaker 17: we we've closed the restaurant.
32:11
Speaker 3: Is this a permanent thing?
32:13
Speaker 17: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, Well.
32:15
Speaker 3: I hate that, Danny, because I mean you, you know,
32:18
Speaker 3: we had you, and we had to bj on a
32:20
Speaker 3: couple of years and now I'm just saying it seemed
32:23
Speaker 3: like you were off to a really good start. I
32:25
Speaker 3: was down there the second day you open, took some
32:27
Speaker 3: food home, and as great as it always is, but
32:29
Speaker 3: it's business, you.
32:30
Speaker 17: Know, yeah it is, and it's I know I'm just
32:37
Speaker 17: I don't want to think too much about Okay, makes
32:40
Speaker 17: me sad.
32:41
Speaker 3: All right, But we do want to say that the restaurant,
32:45
Speaker 3: Danny's Barbecue, it's closed. The second run is closed. It's
32:49
Speaker 3: not going to and it's not going to reopen now, okay,
32:52
Speaker 3: all right? Well not so what do you do with
32:54
Speaker 3: the all your stuff and there? You're still to leave
32:55
Speaker 3: your stuff up up there?
32:57
Speaker 17: Well it's been, That's where it's been.
32:59
Speaker 3: I know it's what I'm saying, But I mean I
33:01
Speaker 3: always told you that what you should do is and
33:03
Speaker 3: maybe you did do this. I'm busy and I don't
33:05
Speaker 3: get to come hang out anymore. But I have always
33:08
Speaker 3: said what you should do is just go down there
33:10
Speaker 3: and just set up shop every day and have people
33:13
Speaker 3: come in and talk to you.
33:15
Speaker 17: I might open up a bookstore there.
33:16
Speaker 3: You go and only sell one book. That's the only
33:20
Speaker 3: book you're going to sell when that thing eight by
33:22
Speaker 3: ten glosses and you know.
33:24
Speaker 17: So since we're talking about the book, I can give
33:27
Speaker 17: you a little tidbit, all right. In nineteen seventy two,
33:32
Speaker 17: I mean I got back from Marshall in June of
33:36
Speaker 17: seventy two, I Dug Graves all that summer and we
33:41
Speaker 17: had the garbage strike and I went to work for
33:45
Speaker 17: Tyler Mount Water Company, de Liver and Bottle of water.
33:49
Speaker 17: I drank every day. I drank alcohol every day until
33:56
Speaker 17: my stomach started giving me trouble. It was a burning
34:00
Speaker 17: and it wouldn't stop burning. And people say, well, you've
34:04
Speaker 17: got an allstro you've got this, you've got that. Drink milk,
34:09
Speaker 17: and milk didn't help it at milk. The only thing
34:15
Speaker 17: milk did was make me fat. But the pain, the
34:19
Speaker 17: kind of burned sensation that you got was were hunger paints.
34:24
Speaker 17: That's what it felt like. And I'd eat and it
34:27
Speaker 17: get worse. And so about March of seventy three, I
34:34
Speaker 17: didn't detail all this in the book, but a young
34:37
Speaker 17: lady said, you've got to try marijuana, and so I
34:44
Speaker 17: smoked some pat with some pot and the pain went away.
34:49
Speaker 17: And that's that's how I started smoking marijuana. And it
34:55
Speaker 17: would help me. Like when I I went to work
35:00
Speaker 17: at the athletic club. I'd get off work and I
35:04
Speaker 17: was all nervous and everything, and I was burning. You know,
35:07
Speaker 17: it was burning all I do. I didn't do it
35:09
Speaker 17: to get high. I did it just to start go
35:11
Speaker 17: to sleep. So that's how I started. Okay, So, so
35:16
Speaker 17: is that too much interest? No, it's not just you
35:19
Speaker 17: didn't do this way, you were sheriffed you. No, I
35:21
Speaker 17: was seventy I was twenty two years old.
35:23
Speaker 3: Okay, this is my younger life.
35:24
Speaker 17: I was twenty two years old.
35:25
Speaker 3: Okay. And there was a stigma I think at that
35:28
Speaker 3: time around marijuana that is not I mean in certain
35:33
Speaker 3: circles there's still a stigma around it. But now that
35:35
Speaker 3: we have medicinal marijuana, we got dispensaries and so on
35:37
Speaker 3: and so forth, I don't think that it's it's as
35:40
Speaker 3: big a taboo thing, is what it was in eighteen
35:42
Speaker 3: seventy three.
35:45
Speaker 17: Well, first thing, from what I understand, the pot they
35:50
Speaker 17: have now is so much strong.
35:52
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I've heard.
35:52
Speaker 17: I mean, I have a I have an experiment with it,
35:57
Speaker 17: having smoked in forty five years. But forty five and
36:09
Speaker 17: it we were going through a time back and then,
36:14
Speaker 17: I mean Jerry Rubin let up a joint on the
36:17
Speaker 17: PHILADNOI show. I mean marijuana was being smoked on the streets, right,
36:25
Speaker 17: So it was it was not treated as a crime
36:31
Speaker 17: unless you had a bushel of it.
36:34
Speaker 3: Well, and here's my only issue with it.
36:36
Speaker 15: Now.
36:36
Speaker 3: I believe people are free to danny to do whatever
36:39
Speaker 3: they want to do. My only issue is is that
36:42
Speaker 3: in areas where marijuana is legal, and I'll give you a
36:46
Speaker 3: good example forr Ginia Beach is one of those.
36:47
Speaker 15: Here.
36:48
Speaker 3: My wife and I go to Virginia Beach frequently. You
36:50
Speaker 3: cannot smoke a paco. You can't. And I don't smoke anything,
36:54
Speaker 3: by the way, but you can't smoke a Marlborough in
36:57
Speaker 3: a place. But people think it's okay to fire up
36:59
Speaker 3: a joint. I mean, it's smoke as smoke for real. Yeah, yeah,
37:03
Speaker 3: I mean it's not Uh, it's not uncommon. I mean
37:06
Speaker 3: I can tell you in one hotel room that we
37:08
Speaker 3: were staying in on the beach people, I don't think
37:11
Speaker 3: that people ever went out on the beach because they
37:14
Speaker 3: were directly below us. All the smoke was coming up.
37:17
Speaker 3: And you can't do that with cigarette, So why should
37:19
Speaker 3: you be allowed to do that with marijuana. That's my
37:21
Speaker 3: only that's my only.
37:22
Speaker 18: Uh.
37:24
Speaker 3: And as far as me smoking pot, uh, I don't
37:27
Speaker 3: need anything to make me eat any more than I
37:29
Speaker 3: already do. So I'm good. I'm good on that front.
37:32
Speaker 3: But Dave Island showing five Any Live is brought to
37:34
Speaker 3: you part by Jute j o ot Security System as
37:37
Speaker 3: a protected by Jude dot com or check them out
37:39
Speaker 3: on Facebook. We had a text here says he ever
37:41
Speaker 3: considered doing a food truck?
37:43
Speaker 17: No, I'm, I'm I'm kind.
37:46
Speaker 3: Of Have you ever done anything like a food truck
37:49
Speaker 3: or mobo?
37:50
Speaker 5: You?
37:50
Speaker 17: No? Never need a lot? Yeah I catered a lot, But.
37:53
Speaker 3: Would you still cater for people if they if they
37:55
Speaker 3: called you?
37:56
Speaker 17: I mean, yeah, I don't have a license. I do
37:59
Speaker 17: it through somebody. I've called chef Paul or somebody and
38:02
Speaker 17: say you want to do this, we'll go and have
38:05
Speaker 17: I'll now, I'll cook the ribs and you do the
38:07
Speaker 17: rest or whatever, well something are called you know Martin
38:11
Speaker 17: over there at Sohoes, or get somebody else to do it.
38:15
Speaker 3: All right, So let's go national here for a moment.
38:18
Speaker 3: The Komy situation, in your opinion.
38:22
Speaker 17: Dead won't go anywhere. It's the first thing in that
38:27
Speaker 17: particular venue and Alexandria where President Trump got twenty percent
38:34
Speaker 17: of the vote. The jury pool is going to kill
38:37
Speaker 17: this thing if it gets that far. But I think
38:40
Speaker 17: the government misconduct is going to it's going to haunt him.
38:46
Speaker 17: I don't know who the judge is who appointed him,
38:49
Speaker 17: so maybe i'm speaking out of turn. If it's a
38:52
Speaker 17: Trump judge, then maybe he'll let it go to trial.
38:55
Speaker 17: But Comy, the only thing Comy's going to have to
38:57
Speaker 17: do is spend money on lawyers. He was a leaker.
39:01
Speaker 17: He was a big time leaker.
39:02
Speaker 3: Yeah, he got caught up in that. I mean, I
39:04
Speaker 3: don't think that could be denying.
39:05
Speaker 17: He admitted that under oath. He admitted it.
39:07
Speaker 3: Yeah.
39:08
Speaker 17: Yeah, But and somebody lied, either he or Andrew McCabe lied.
39:14
Speaker 17: But that doesn't matter. The truth in this thing doesn't matter,
39:18
Speaker 17: you know. And in the state case against Trump, Leticia
39:23
Speaker 17: James said he was too male and too pale.
39:29
Speaker 3: That a direct quote.
39:31
Speaker 17: That's when she was running for all right. Yeah, she
39:34
Speaker 17: ran to prosecute him.
39:36
Speaker 3: Yeah that she made no secrets about that.
39:39
Speaker 17: In the States, you can get away with that, right
39:41
Speaker 17: the Federals, in the federal government, I don't think you
39:44
Speaker 17: can say something.
39:45
Speaker 3: Does it trouble you, Danny when you hear and they
39:47
Speaker 3: can deny it all they want. But let's face it.
39:49
Speaker 3: I mean, Donald Trump is he's a very vindictive person.
39:53
Speaker 3: He was a very vindictive person. And people will tell
39:55
Speaker 3: you this well before he got into politics. That's just
39:58
Speaker 3: his nature. He's a tough New Yorker, okay. And it
40:00
Speaker 3: served him well on certain fronts and not served him
40:03
Speaker 3: so well on other fronts. Is this just a case
40:05
Speaker 3: of retribution because this won't I mean he said it
40:07
Speaker 3: last week, he said this won't. There'll be many more
40:10
Speaker 3: to come, of.
40:12
Speaker 17: Course, of course it is. You know Howard Schultz, you
40:15
Speaker 17: know who he is, the guy started at Starbucks. He
40:19
Speaker 17: had a town hall, Fox News town hall and he
40:22
Speaker 17: was thinking about running for president, and he said they
40:27
Speaker 17: asked him what he thought about Trump. He said, well,
40:31
Speaker 17: I like a lot of his policies, but I'd like
40:34
Speaker 17: to see somebody in here raise their hand and tell
40:39
Speaker 17: me that they want their kids to emulate his behavior.
40:44
Speaker 17: And nobody raised their hand. And this is a Fox
40:47
Speaker 17: News town hall.
40:49
Speaker 3: So where else does it go beyond comby? You think,
40:52
Speaker 3: because you don't, I think Comy's that nothing's going to
40:54
Speaker 3: nothing's going to come from that.
40:56
Speaker 17: Well, I mean it doesn't. The facts and the law
41:00
Speaker 17: don't matter. That they'll come up with something. And you
41:05
Speaker 17: know now they're they're sending the Marines into these into
41:09
Speaker 17: these cities, which I think far, far exceeds their mission.
41:17
Speaker 17: I guess the excuse they can use is they're protecting
41:22
Speaker 17: federal property. And when people shoot these ice agents or
41:27
Speaker 17: shoot into an ICE facility, maybe that gives them reason,
41:32
Speaker 17: Maybe that gives them cover for what they're trying to do.
41:36
Speaker 17: But we live in a world, I mean, Joe Manton
41:38
Speaker 17: just wrote a book about it where the middle, the
41:43
Speaker 17: mainstream of American politics doesn't make. It doesn't work, doesn't
41:49
Speaker 17: it doesn't, it doesn't go, You can't make, it doesn't matter.
41:54
Speaker 3: Is it possible? You know, Joe's is the eternal optimist.
41:59
Speaker 3: Is it possible that we ever get back there?
42:02
Speaker 17: No, not in my lifetime.
42:04
Speaker 3: I agree, you know, and I'm a little bit younger
42:06
Speaker 3: than you, but I agree.
42:07
Speaker 17: It'll be, it'll get worse. And you know, there's something
42:11
Speaker 17: good going on in Pennsylvania. There are politics up there
42:15
Speaker 17: because they got three people. One is Fetterman, whose mainstream,
42:20
Speaker 17: David McCormick senator conservative mainstream, and Josh Shapiro, who should
42:28
Speaker 17: be in the should be in the White House. That's
42:29
Speaker 17: you boy, right there, that's right. You loveapi. I do,
42:32
Speaker 17: and he's a Democrat. I've never voted for a Democrat.
42:35
Speaker 3: I think you said that on the show before. You've
42:36
Speaker 3: never voted for.
42:37
Speaker 17: I voted for the last three times I voted for You've.
42:41
Speaker 3: Never voted for Democrats for president.
42:43
Speaker 17: You have obviously contributed. Yeah, yeah, Now there are some
42:47
Speaker 17: others that are good. This Governor Colorado is a Democrat,
42:51
Speaker 17: but he's gay, so that won't work. And the Republican
42:57
Speaker 17: governor of of Utah, who is a very good man.
43:05
Speaker 17: He'd make a fine president. But these guys are mainstream.
43:08
Speaker 3: He picked up a lot of points, I mean, in
43:10
Speaker 3: a tragedy with that, with that situation in the in
43:13
Speaker 3: the Kirk shooting.
43:14
Speaker 17: And you know that he and he and the governor
43:17
Speaker 17: of Colorado are.
43:19
Speaker 3: They're great friends.
43:21
Speaker 17: They are They work together on stuff despite the fact
43:24
Speaker 17: that one's a Mormon and the other is married to
43:26
Speaker 17: a man, you know. And it's I like to get
43:32
Speaker 17: things done.
43:34
Speaker 3: I think the times of of getting things done or
43:38
Speaker 3: maybe behind us, because I don't see it. I don't
43:40
Speaker 3: see it changing. And now you know the interesting thing
43:42
Speaker 3: we'll say this will go to break one of the
43:43
Speaker 3: interesting things here in the that I've noticed in the
43:45
Speaker 3: West Virginia legislature and already, you know, for twenty twenty six,
43:48
Speaker 3: people have already come on this show and announced that
43:50
Speaker 3: they're running. We had one when you were on last week,
43:52
Speaker 3: as a matter of fact, and uh, but people are
43:54
Speaker 3: announcing that they're that they're running. And many of the
43:57
Speaker 3: Republicans that are the City Republicans are saying, you have
44:01
Speaker 3: to re elect me because we got to keep the
44:04
Speaker 3: far right people out because there is a further right
44:10
Speaker 3: than I mean I'm watching they're afraid of some of
44:13
Speaker 3: the City Republicans are afraid of farther right people getting
44:18
Speaker 3: at if that makes any sense, going.
44:19
Speaker 17: No, no, no, you're right. I'm worried about, like I'm thinking
44:22
Speaker 17: about Shelley who who will challenge her in the primary.
44:27
Speaker 3: She's already got at least one or two and they're running,
44:32
Speaker 3: calling Shelley Moore Capitol Rhino. That's why they're running. They're saying,
44:35
Speaker 3: we've got to it's time for her to go.
44:37
Speaker 17: Well, President Trump already.
44:39
Speaker 3: Endorsed her, yeah, and that's so that should help her.

Speaker 3: who is the city mayor who ran as an independent
47:33
Speaker 3: this time, says he is bowing out the latest poll

47:39
Speaker 3: from Emerson College September twenty twenty five of the see
47:44
Speaker 3: the seventh and eighth is when this came out. Mamdami,
47:48

Speaker 3: and he has dropped out after vowing that he wouldn't.
48:07
Speaker 3: He says he's dropping out. You were on the show
48:11
Speaker 3: a couple of months ago talking about mom Dommy, and
48:15
Speaker 3: he's the front runner right now, and if I mean
48:16
Speaker 3: a lot can change, he's probably gonna be the next
48:18
Speaker 3: mayor of New York City.
48:21
Speaker 17: I think it's funny and I'm for it. I listened
48:26
Speaker 17: to George will the other night, and ever once in
48:28
Speaker 17: a while, you didn't need to stir a socialists in
48:31
Speaker 17: there just to prove to people how how bad it
48:33
Speaker 17: will get if you're gonna, if you're if you're gonna
48:36
Speaker 17: go that route.
48:38
Speaker 3: I mean, isn't the you know, the being the mayor
48:42
Speaker 3: of the largest city in America or one of the
48:45
Speaker 3: I mean, it's still the largest city in America. I
48:46
Speaker 3: guess it is. But is that is that is that
48:48
Speaker 3: the testing ground? I mean? And there other places.
48:51
Speaker 17: Well, I mean we've we've seen in my lifetime, we've
48:55
Speaker 17: seen I mean under Lindsey under Bean, New York City
49:02
Speaker 17: crashed and you know, have to file for bankruptcy or
49:08
Speaker 17: get close to it.
49:10
Speaker 3: I saw I was watching something to the documentary or
49:12
Speaker 3: something a couple of weeks ago, and they were talking
49:15
Speaker 3: about New York City in the nineteen seventies and eighties.
49:17
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and it has come so far from what
49:20
Speaker 3: it was back then under Ed Kocha and others before him.
49:24
Speaker 17: Well Ed Contra is pretty good.
49:25
Speaker 3: Yeah. And Giuliani, for despite the fact he turned out
49:28
Speaker 3: to be a complete flake later, he was a pretty
49:31
Speaker 3: good mayor there for a while.
49:32
Speaker 17: The best administrator forget the guns, if you forget it,
49:37
Speaker 17: was Bloomberg and it wasn't even closed. He was the
49:41
Speaker 17: best mayor that New York City will ever have. If
49:45
Speaker 17: you can get the guns, if you you know, because
49:47
Speaker 17: people here, he wants to take our guns.
49:49
Speaker 3: Okay, they said the same thing about you.
49:52
Speaker 17: Well, I didn't take anybody his guns.
49:55
Speaker 3: But I remember I wasn't that we didn't know each
49:57
Speaker 3: other time. But I remember the whole thing with the
49:59
Speaker 3: community centers and everything.
50:00
Speaker 17: There's a big mistake.
50:01
Speaker 3: It went between dollar Danny to that was your next.
50:04
Speaker 17: I should have said, I should have opened them up
50:06
Speaker 17: and just bring the guns.
50:08
Speaker 3: But you took a lot of heat for that, and
50:10
Speaker 3: I won.
50:11
Speaker 17: I won the court case.
50:13
Speaker 3: Yeah, but it was a it was a hall of
50:15
Speaker 3: how much time do we spend on the on the
50:18
Speaker 3: on those two things that talked about the user fee
50:20
Speaker 3: and the guns in the community centers. How much of
50:23
Speaker 3: that is in the book?
50:24
Speaker 17: Not much?
50:25
Speaker 3: Okay, not much, Needles, it's more okay, needles.

50:36
Speaker 17: I mean, you've got one guy that was all for him,
50:39
Speaker 17: and then you've got jb Acres who actually did data,
50:44
Speaker 17: who did FOI and he documents stuff. I mean he
50:48
Speaker 17: didn't he didn't go fly by the seat of his pants.
50:51
Speaker 17: So he's in the book.
50:53
Speaker 3: Okay, So uh, what's the latest? Is still around the
50:57
