- 0:07Speaker 1: Now, I don't know if I, Oh, my gosh, I
- 0:10Speaker 1: don't know if I'm having a thirty five year old
- 0:13Speaker 1: life crisis I'm gonna have.
- 0:15Speaker 2: That's midlife. That's life.
- 0:17Speaker 1: You're kind of right, maybe it's midlife crisis. I don't
- 0:20Speaker 1: know if I'm having one of those. As baby G
- 0:23Speaker 1: is going to be arriving fairly soon. I mean, we
- 0:26Speaker 1: still got a little time, but fairly soon, sooner than
- 0:29Speaker 1: probably I'll be ready for But I I think I
- 0:33Speaker 1: want to try to become a bit of a bad boy.
- 0:35Speaker 2: I hate the way you say bad boy that automatically
- 0:40Speaker 2: makes you not one.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Why.
- 0:42Speaker 2: I don't the tone. I don't like it. Well, sounds
- 0:45Speaker 2: comical to me.
- 0:46Speaker 1: But okay, continue, Well, when you have no clue what
- 0:49Speaker 1: you're doing in life, what do you do?
- 0:50Speaker 2: Well?
- 0:50Speaker 1: Of course you asked Google, and I asked Google yesterday.
- 0:55Speaker 1: I said I wanted to this. I type this into Google. Okay,
- 0:58Speaker 1: if you don't know this about me, fun fact, my
- 1:00Speaker 1: Google searches are crazy. I talked to Google like it's
- 1:03Speaker 1: a buddy.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Yeah you know, and.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I typed in, I want to try becoming a bad
- 1:07Speaker 1: boy for a few weeks in twenty twenty six. Now,
- 1:09Speaker 1: I still want to maintain being a good hubby and
- 1:11Speaker 1: a good friend, and I still want to continue going
- 1:14Speaker 1: to all the doctor's appointments with my wife while she's
- 1:16Speaker 1: seven months pregnant. Uh but what are some things I
- 1:19Speaker 1: could do to get a bit of a bad boy image.
- 1:22Speaker 1: I'm thinking of going to Walmart and renting an ego
- 1:25Speaker 1: for a few weeks just to try it out. I
- 1:27Speaker 1: also want to get a bad ace tattoo of a wolf.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Any other suggestions.
- 1:33Speaker 2: The fact that this is what your Google search bar is,
- 1:38Speaker 2: that's how my right enough chat gpt that way. It
- 1:41Speaker 2: was Google, You're a wild boy, Okay, So it did
- 1:45Speaker 2: spit out some things for you to try, and so
- 1:48Speaker 2: I'm going to help you out, Gabe, and see if
- 1:50Speaker 2: you can. You can work on these so that you
- 1:53Speaker 2: can become.
- 1:53Speaker 3: A what a bad boy? Oh my gosh.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Okay, So first you can change your life look just
- 2:01Speaker 2: enough to be noticeable. You don't have to have a
- 2:03Speaker 2: full identity crisis, which clearly you are having.
- 2:05Speaker 3: But fine, I have been grown out my hair since
- 2:07Speaker 3: the Super Bowl. That's that was.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Because you lost a bet. Okay. So for the clothes, darker,
- 2:12Speaker 2: simpler colors, black and neutral. That gives you an instant edge.
- 2:18Speaker 2: And you know you are in a flannel today that
- 2:21Speaker 2: is like black and gray. It's very neutral. I do
- 2:24Speaker 2: have black black jeans on. Okay, you're one step closer
- 2:28Speaker 2: to being a.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Bad boy, my gosh.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Okay, then you can be playfully cocky but not actually cocky.
- 2:37Speaker 2: So that means you have to tease your friends a little,
- 2:40Speaker 2: some light sarcasm. You gotta say things like relax, I
- 2:45Speaker 2: got this, and you're just like opening a pickle jar.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I swear to god, I was just about to say,
- 2:49Speaker 1: well I got that covered.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Okay, see there you go.
- 2:52Speaker 3: You have it.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Okay, step closer to being a bad boy. All right,
- 2:59Speaker 2: this is the final one, and I think this is
- 3:03Speaker 2: where you're gonna shine. You gotta master the exit. Bad
- 3:08Speaker 2: boys don't linger awkwardly, so you have to leave on
- 3:11Speaker 2: a high note. You got to be like, all right,
- 3:13Speaker 2: I'm out, good seeing you, and just leave. No dragging
- 3:16Speaker 2: it out, no dilly dallying to like say a few
- 3:20Speaker 2: more things. Don't leave like I do. Okay, I will
- 3:24Speaker 2: not shut up. I'm Latino. Okay, we say goodbye at
- 3:28Speaker 2: five pm and we don't actually leave till seven pm,
- 3:31Speaker 2: So be the opposite of that, and then you can
- 3:34Speaker 2: be a bad boy.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Are you talking kind of kind of leaving like this, Angie?
- 3:39Speaker 4: Yeah, celebrating life's little victories. Every morning we practice gratitude
- 3:48Speaker 4: on big ninety eight points stuff.
- 3:50Speaker 3: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 3:52Speaker 3: basket job, bust it out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Share your little victories with us at seven oh one
- 3:59Speaker 4: two eight oho one ninety.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Eight kids, I also needed to win that day, Angie.
- 4:04Speaker 3: What is your little victory for us?
- 4:06Speaker 2: This morning, for the first time post breast reduction surgery,
- 4:10Speaker 2: I did an entire full body rising shine with a
- 4:15Speaker 2: big ninety eight seven.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Oh you did?
- 4:17Speaker 2: Huh?
- 4:17Speaker 3: Yep? What did that work out consist of? So there
- 4:23Speaker 3: was I.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Had to do. I did two point five miles on
- 4:27Speaker 2: the treadmill at three point five miles an hour, and
- 4:31Speaker 2: for me that's huge because I do not like running.
- 4:33Speaker 2: So I was like in a little jog and then I.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Pretty good, Yeah, not bad, right, that's pretty good.
- 4:39Speaker 2: And then thank you. And then I did squats, crunches,
- 4:45Speaker 2: arm curls, and there was something else.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Oh I'm burpies, so oh wow, you're really getting after it.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Yeah, your girl's gotta make some drastic changes. My birthdays
- 4:55Speaker 2: in July and I am not ready.
- 4:59Speaker 3: What do you like? What are you getting ready for
- 5:01Speaker 3: to be in a bathing suit? My guy? Oh? Okay, well,
- 5:04Speaker 3: the best of luck to you, thank you, thank you.
- 5:09Speaker 1: How would you respond to that, like, Hey, I'm happy
- 5:11Speaker 1: for you, I'm good luck.
- 5:13Speaker 3: I hope you stick with it.
- 5:15Speaker 2: I will, all right? That was perfectly fine, is it?
- 5:18Speaker 2: Because like, that's a weird thing for you to answer
- 5:20Speaker 2: because you're a dude and you don't want to comment
- 5:22Speaker 2: on women's body.
- 5:23Speaker 1: That's exactly what the situation I have found myself.
- 5:26Speaker 3: That's care.
- 5:26Speaker 2: But we're friends, Gabe, so you can say you better
- 5:29Speaker 2: keep going girl.
- 5:31Speaker 1: All right, Well what about you, Gabe? My little victory.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I have two. Actually yesterday at Unhinged Sports Bar in
- 5:38Speaker 1: West Fargo for a big happy hour. It was so
- 5:41Speaker 1: fun handing out the free beers. Obviously, Angie and I
- 5:45Speaker 1: love when it's our turn to be the free beer fairy.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Yes, where you get.
- 5:48Speaker 1: To walk around and just sprinkle free beer dust around
- 5:52Speaker 1: the entire It's really a high it is, and it
- 5:56Speaker 1: was also a lot of fun as there was a
- 5:58Speaker 1: ton of people who were talking to me about Big
- 6:01Speaker 1: ninety eight point seven's bump at the pump and the
- 6:03Speaker 1: gas contest that we have. Yeah, it was kind of
- 6:06Speaker 1: funny being the beer fairy and the potential free gas
- 6:10Speaker 1: fairy at Unhinged yesterday.
- 6:12Speaker 2: My gosh, you must feel so good about yourself right now.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Ange and I are giving you the opportunity today and
- 6:24Speaker 1: we will as well. But to come clean about your job?
- 6:29Speaker 1: Did you used to work at a place and you
- 6:31Speaker 1: don't work there anymore? And there's some secrets about it
- 6:35Speaker 1: that you can share with us this morning?
- 6:36Speaker 3: Ga like this?
- 6:37Speaker 1: Do you want to share a secret with your job
- 6:40Speaker 1: and remain anonymous? You can do that as well if
- 6:43Speaker 1: you text it to us at seven oh one two
- 6:45Speaker 1: eight zero one nine eight seven. We won't reveal your
- 6:47Speaker 1: name or who you are or anything like that. But
- 6:50Speaker 1: is there a secret about your job that and it
- 6:53Speaker 1: doesn't have to be bad. Just because it's a secret
- 6:56Speaker 1: doesn't mean it's like the world is going to end.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Maybe it's I really cool secret that you just don't
- 7:01Speaker 1: talk about a ton.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:02Speaker 2: I always see on Instagram that like the secrets to
- 7:07Speaker 2: shopping at like TJ Max or Marshals based on the
- 7:10Speaker 2: numbers that are at the end of the skew on
- 7:13Speaker 2: the tag, and that'll tell you like what kind of
- 7:16Speaker 2: item it was, if it was specifically for TJ Max,
- 7:19Speaker 2: or if it was you know, from a big box
- 7:22Speaker 2: retailer and it just ended up in TJ Max. Like
- 7:25Speaker 2: those kind of secrets I really love because it helps
- 7:27Speaker 2: you shop right right, Yeah, So it doesn't have to
- 7:29Speaker 2: be a bad secret. I'm willing to reveal a secret
- 7:32Speaker 2: about Big ninety eight point seven. So here's the thing.
- 7:36Speaker 2: We do not control the music, and by we I
- 7:40Speaker 2: mean myself and Gabe. We do not control the music.
- 7:43Speaker 2: So if you want to get your song on the radio,
- 7:47Speaker 2: we are not the people to ask because we can't
- 7:50Speaker 2: make that change for you. Requests. We can take requests, yeap.
- 7:54Speaker 2: So if there's a song you want to hear, we
- 7:56Speaker 2: can absolutely do that. If you know we have the song,
- 7:59Speaker 2: and if it's a song that we would play, then
- 8:02Speaker 2: we can play the song.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I've been requested and led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven for
- 8:07Speaker 1: weeks and I can't.
- 8:07Speaker 3: No, I'm just.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Kidding, right, yeah, So you can make requests, but in
- 8:10Speaker 2: terms of like actually choosing the music that we play,
- 8:15Speaker 2: I'm not your girl. I wish I had more power,
- 8:18Speaker 2: but I do not.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Yeah, Angie and I have a little to zero to
- 8:22Speaker 1: do with that. We can we can make make a
- 8:24Speaker 1: suggestion or hey, do you want to listen to this
- 8:27Speaker 1: and see if it would work?
- 8:28Speaker 2: Yeah? And ninety nine point nine percent of the time
- 8:31Speaker 2: it's like.
- 8:31Speaker 1: No, right, Yeah, So that might be something you did
- 8:35Speaker 1: not know about. Maybe your favorite radio station, and the
- 8:40Speaker 1: people who work on it is not all of them,
- 8:42Speaker 1: have very few of them, to be honest, have a
- 8:45Speaker 1: ton to do with the music selection, which a lot
- 8:48Speaker 1: of people don't actually know.
- 8:49Speaker 2: But you can make song requests. I just want to
- 8:51Speaker 2: be very clear. We're happy to Hey, can you play
- 8:54Speaker 2: Backstreet Boys? I want it that way, Yes we can.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right.
- 8:58Speaker 1: And being that this person posts did this on Facebook,
- 9:01Speaker 1: I think I can say their Nameka Chris said my
- 9:04Speaker 1: job handles millions of dollars of taxpayer or millions of
- 9:08Speaker 1: taxpayer dollars and the admin just got a fifty k bonus,
- 9:13Speaker 1: including me, and I feel horrible about it. There are
- 9:16Speaker 1: actually some comments in here of people who are like, hey,
- 9:18Speaker 1: if you feel if you feel guilty, I can help
- 9:21Speaker 1: burden some of that guilt for you for no charge.
- 9:24Speaker 1: And then Glinda actually responded to that as well and said, hey,
- 9:27Speaker 1: you can donate some of it. Yeah, that true is interesting,
- 9:30Speaker 1: and I think we got just enough from Chris there
- 9:33Speaker 1: to not exactly know but know a little.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Bit of what yes, my dear, what he does.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Actually one of my secrets I want to give away
- 9:39Speaker 1: here at Big ninety eight point seven. When we do
- 9:42Speaker 1: a like a contest, right whether you know, like the
- 9:45Speaker 1: money boarder bump at the pump is coming up at
- 9:47Speaker 1: seven to eleven here this morning, Angie and I don't
- 9:51Speaker 1: necessarily always have the idea for that contest. You might
- 9:55Speaker 1: think like, oh, Gabe and Angie came up with this
- 9:57Speaker 1: idea and now they're doing it. There are so many
- 10:00Speaker 1: people that Angie and I would have to go through
- 10:03Speaker 1: if we have a contest idea that are something that
- 10:05Speaker 1: would be cool to do that we have to kind
- 10:08Speaker 1: of go through. There's a step ladder that we have
- 10:10Speaker 1: to climb to get permission to do those.
- 10:13Speaker 2: It's like any other job. I feel like we do
- 10:15Speaker 2: have a really cool job. I love our job.
- 10:18Speaker 3: We have suggestions, for sure.
- 10:20Speaker 2: It's the same thing. We have just as much admin
- 10:24Speaker 2: to go through as anybody else in like an office job.
- 10:27Speaker 2: So when we do it like we love Bump at
- 10:29Speaker 2: the Pump, you know what I will say this Mikey,
- 10:32Speaker 2: my man's he came up with the name bump at
- 10:35Speaker 2: the Pump. Yeah, because it's a collaborative process. Everybody, I mean,
- 10:39Speaker 2: so many people get together and it's like, what are
- 10:41Speaker 2: we gonna do? What are we gonna call it?
- 10:42Speaker 3: How are we gonna have one time? Yeah?
- 10:44Speaker 2: So I think we've just revealed that you and I
- 10:47Speaker 2: have little control.
- 10:53Speaker 3: This is am I the problem. It's me, Hi, the
- 10:58Speaker 3: problem is me. We'll hear one side of the story
- 11:01Speaker 3: and with your help.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Decide if it's right or if maybe you're the problem.
- 11:08Speaker 3: That's right, I am the problem. On Big ninety eight
- 11:11Speaker 3: point seven.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Alicia needs our help and your help, she emailed us,
- 11:18Speaker 2: Gabe and Angie. I just need to know I'm not
- 11:20Speaker 2: a monster, or maybe I am. A girlfriend of mine
- 11:24Speaker 2: wants me to set her up with my best friend,
- 11:26Speaker 2: who is a guy. I enjoy her socially, but she's
- 11:29Speaker 2: legit a whole mess and now with her yeah, and
- 11:35Speaker 2: no judgment in general, but I don't feel comfortable introducing
- 11:39Speaker 2: her to my guy friend because he is not a
- 11:41Speaker 2: mess like, he does not need that energy in his life.
- 11:45Speaker 2: So is it bad that I'm gonna gate keep him
- 11:48Speaker 2: from her? And before anyone starts getting crazy, I am married,
- 11:53Speaker 2: married and elkeeps and my best friend is friends with
- 11:56Speaker 2: my husband too. I'm not interested in him, you know what.
- 11:59Speaker 2: I appreciate Alicia for clarifying, because you know that was
- 12:02Speaker 2: going to be the first, the first thing.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Get into him, right.
- 12:08Speaker 2: I think you are being a good friend. If that
- 12:11Speaker 2: is your best friend, Yeah, do not introduce him to
- 12:15Speaker 2: someone who's a whole disaster and wouldn't be good for him.
- 12:18Speaker 2: I feel like that's the right move because if you
- 12:22Speaker 2: switched it and he was a girl, you wouldn't introduce
- 12:25Speaker 2: someone to your girl best friend who could ruin her life,
- 12:28Speaker 2: you know so I think we got to keep that
- 12:30Speaker 2: same energy. I do not think that you are the problem, Alicia.
- 12:34Speaker 2: I think you're being.
- 12:35Speaker 3: A good friend.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Oh Angie, Angie, Angie, oh Angie, this is child's play.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Okay, what you go ahead? Now?
- 12:42Speaker 1: I understand why you wouldn't maybe want to because if
- 12:45Speaker 1: it didn't go well, and now all of a sudden,
- 12:47Speaker 1: your friend and your guy friend, they're both coming to you.
- 12:50Speaker 1: It's probably just like this weird triangle. You don't want
- 12:52Speaker 1: to be a part of that part. I understand, But Angie,
- 12:55Speaker 1: this is child's play. Okay, of course you introduced this
- 12:58Speaker 1: guy and this girl. This guy does not care if
- 13:02Speaker 1: this lady is BS crazy. Okay, it does not matter
- 13:07Speaker 1: if you say, oh, hey, I know this girl who
- 13:10Speaker 1: might be interested in you. Do you know what his
- 13:12Speaker 1: first response is going to be. It's the most dude
- 13:14Speaker 1: response ever.
- 13:15Speaker 3: What she hot?
- 13:17Speaker 1: Oh, that's exactly what he's gonna say. He does not
- 13:21Speaker 1: care if this lady needs the straight jacket in the
- 13:24Speaker 1: padded room.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. Let him.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Let him learn that for himself down the road, and
- 13:30Speaker 1: then you can at least say you did a good
- 13:31Speaker 1: dean for your both your friends. It's good karma going forward.
- 13:35Speaker 1: He does not give a rip if she's insane on
- 13:39Speaker 1: their first date.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Marris, why we need you? What are your thoughts? Seven
- 13:43Speaker 2: oh one two eight A one nine eight seven?
- 13:45Speaker 3: Do you agree with me? Yes?
- 13:46Speaker 2: Gate, keep the friend? Or do you agree with Gabe?
- 13:50Speaker 2: Because if she's hot, then all bets are off. Alicia
- 13:59Speaker 2: has a girl girlfriend who she enjoys, but that girlfriend said, hey,
- 14:03Speaker 2: can you introduce me to your best friend who happens
- 14:05Speaker 2: to be a guy, because she's into him, and Alicia
- 14:09Speaker 2: does not want to do that, So she wants to
- 14:11Speaker 2: know if she is the problem for gatekeeping her bestie
- 14:14Speaker 2: from this girlfriend to hers because she thinks that girlfriend
- 14:17Speaker 2: she too much of a mess for her bestie. I
- 14:20Speaker 2: think Alicia's doing the right thing. I if that's your
- 14:24Speaker 2: best friend, then yeah, you protect them if you can.
- 14:29Speaker 2: If someone knows that someone would not be good for me,
- 14:31Speaker 2: do not introduce me to them. I think Alicia is
- 14:34Speaker 2: doing the right thing.
- 14:35Speaker 3: I think Alicia.
- 14:37Speaker 1: I think Alicia is thinking like a lady. Okay, Alicia
- 14:40Speaker 1: puts your shoes in your buddy's feet? What put your
- 14:45Speaker 1: feet in your buddy's shoe?
- 14:46Speaker 3: Yes, he could not care less this guy.
- 14:49Speaker 1: All he's gonna hear you say is like ten words,
- 14:53Speaker 1: I have a friend that might be interested in you,
- 14:56Speaker 1: and his response instantly will just be oh hot.
- 15:01Speaker 3: That's all. He's gonna care a shit at the start.
- 15:04Speaker 3: That's all that matters to him. On date one. You
- 15:07Speaker 3: don't think that.
- 15:09Speaker 2: She knows her bestie enough to know that he wouldn't
- 15:12Speaker 2: be interested.
- 15:14Speaker 1: No, I mean Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman ended up together,
- 15:17Speaker 1: and those two could not be more opposite humans. He's insane, okay,
- 15:21Speaker 1: and she seems like a classy kind lady.
- 15:24Speaker 2: All right, well what do you think? We have this
- 15:26Speaker 2: up on the Facebook page. You can also call and
- 15:29Speaker 2: text us your responses. At this point, I just need
- 15:33Speaker 2: to know if you agree with me or if you
- 15:34Speaker 2: agree with Gabe.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I have to give a big shout out this morning
- 15:37Speaker 1: to uh, this is Yolanda who texted us. I know
- 15:40Speaker 1: there's a Yolanda on Facebook, Yolanda who texted us this morning.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Before I get to her response, my wife listens to
- 15:47Speaker 1: am I the problem a lot on her way to work,
- 15:49Speaker 1: and she told me yesterday she was like, whoever that
- 15:51Speaker 1: Yolanda is that lady who texts you? She is so funny.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Oh so, Yolanda has a fan with big eight points.
- 15:58Speaker 1: That's pretty great, Yolanda said. I was writing a response,
- 16:02Speaker 1: but then Gabe tossed in the male point of view,
- 16:04Speaker 1: and he has a point plus. If the guy is smart,
- 16:08Speaker 1: he will notice her level of sanity pretty quick. A
- 16:10Speaker 1: hot mess chick doesn't have a good poker face, so
- 16:14Speaker 1: he should figure it out pretty quick.
- 16:16Speaker 3: And Gabe might be right. He could be into it.
- 16:18Speaker 2: I do have a good poker face.
- 16:20Speaker 3: I'm just kidding.
- 16:22Speaker 1: We also had another Yolanda on Facebook who said, just
- 16:26Speaker 1: tell her he's bad news and tell him you're gonna
- 16:28Speaker 1: lie about him to save him from your messy friend.
- 16:31Speaker 1: This is a very adult moment here. Sometimes as an adult,
- 16:35Speaker 1: you need to know when it is a good lie
- 16:38Speaker 1: and a bad lie that's true. This is the perfect time.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Just be like, hey, you guys aren't gonna work. I'm
- 16:43Speaker 1: gonna tell her you're insane. Yeah, and then tell her
- 16:45Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell him here. I'm gonna tell her he's insane.
- 16:48Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 16:49Speaker 3: No, I get to them both to save them from
- 16:51Speaker 3: each other.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Women doubt lie.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Julia, she said, I mean kind of.
- 16:58Speaker 1: I can see why she wouldn't want the weird dynamic,
- 17:00Speaker 1: especially if things don't work out for them. She can
- 17:03Speaker 1: shoot her shot if she wants. But I don't think
- 17:05Speaker 1: you need to be involved in setting them up. On
- 17:07Speaker 1: the other side, maybe let them just see if there's
- 17:10Speaker 1: something there. You wouldn't want to hold them back from
- 17:12Speaker 1: a potential love of each other's lives either, but maybe
- 17:17Speaker 1: just give him a heads up. It's definitely tricky, and
- 17:19Speaker 1: there's nothing wrong with staying out of it. Well, leave
- 17:21Speaker 1: it to Julia to have a nice, well thought out,
- 17:23Speaker 1: mature response.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Always level headed. And if I'm not mistaken, I think
- 17:28Speaker 2: she's the one who won bump at the pump today
- 17:31Speaker 2: one hundred dollars in gas. So good for you, Julia.
- 17:34Speaker 2: You're one hundred dollars richer in gas and you have thoughtful,
- 17:38Speaker 2: interesting opinions.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Yeah, Angie, and I tell you to lie back.
- 17:48Speaker 1: In my day, the internet meta sound like a robot
- 17:52Speaker 1: was being tortured, and if your mom picked up the phone,
- 17:54Speaker 1: you got kicked off, like you violated national security. Okay,
- 17:57Speaker 1: if you wanted to get on, yeah, it was impossible. Iday,
- 18:00Speaker 1: we didn't binge watch TV. We emotionally suffered one episode
- 18:03Speaker 1: at a time and then spend seven days forming conspiracy
- 18:06Speaker 1: theories with zero answers. It should be your parents are
- 18:10Speaker 1: maybe your grandparents. You probably heard a few bag In
- 18:13Speaker 1: my day, we walked uphill into the wind both ways
- 18:17Speaker 1: to get to and from school, and I want to
- 18:20Speaker 1: hear more of a millennial version of that. This morning
- 18:22Speaker 1: seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven,
- 18:26Speaker 1: Samantha said, I tell my kids all the time. Back
- 18:29Speaker 1: in my day, we didn't have cell phones to find
- 18:31Speaker 1: our friends, so you rode your bike around until you
- 18:34Speaker 1: saw all the bikes at the friend's house. And our
- 18:36Speaker 1: curfew to come home was when the street.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Lights came up. So really, ain't that the truth that
- 18:41Speaker 3: brings me right back to being eight years old? Holy smokes.
- 18:45Speaker 2: My kids the other day actually wanted me to pause
- 18:49Speaker 2: the show that we were watching so they could run
- 18:51Speaker 2: downstairs and get plushies like their stuffed animals and bring
- 18:54Speaker 2: them back up. And it was about to hit commercial
- 18:57Speaker 2: because we still have we don't have ad for you.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Okay, we're not rich, so you know it's like a bad.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Exactly, but it's a minute and thirty seconds of commercial.
- 19:09Speaker 2: And they said, well, pause it so we can go downstairs,
- 19:11Speaker 2: and I said, uh ah. Back in my day, as
- 19:14Speaker 2: soon as the commercials hit, you had to race and
- 19:17Speaker 2: run to do everything you needed to do. You want
- 19:19Speaker 2: to get the popcorn, you gotta go to the bathroom.
- 19:21Speaker 2: You got to do it all by the time that
- 19:23Speaker 2: commercial is over and one of your siblings yells it's
- 19:26Speaker 2: back on and hope that you make it in time.
- 19:29Speaker 2: There was no pausing, Yeah, pausing television no, not.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Back in my day.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Yeah, and if you missed ten seconds, you had to
- 19:38Speaker 1: immediately ask to get filled in.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Yeah, what happened as quick as possible.
- 19:42Speaker 1: That's rewind, Julia said, texting on a flip phone and
- 19:46Speaker 1: having to press the buttons one to three times to
- 19:49Speaker 1: get the right letter because we didn't have a full keyboard.
- 19:53Speaker 3: P nine texting, No, that was even the spell. It
- 19:58Speaker 3: wasn't it.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Yes, but it started that way. You had to Yeah,
- 20:02Speaker 2: And then when T nine came out, we thought, oh.
- 20:05Speaker 3: This is the future.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Little did we know eventually you would get so good
- 20:09Speaker 1: at texting with those numbers. You'll be sending full texts
- 20:11Speaker 1: from your pocket in math class or just me.
- 20:14Speaker 2: No, no, that's real, No, that's real. I could do
- 20:17Speaker 2: it with my eyes closed. And it's because it wasn't
- 20:20Speaker 2: a touch screen. I think texting and driving wouldn't be
- 20:23Speaker 2: as bad as bad as it is now if it was, like,
- 20:27Speaker 2: you know, more tactile. But being a touch screen, you
- 20:29Speaker 2: don't know.
- 20:29Speaker 3: What your type. Yeah, now I just have series send them. Yeah,
- 20:33Speaker 3: back in my day, this is from Jane.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Back in my day, we only had the TV channels
- 20:37Speaker 1: two through thirteen and all were off by midnight.
- 20:41Speaker 3: That is true.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Now you go into someone's house and there you know,
- 20:44Speaker 1: they pull up the TV guide or there's three thousand
- 20:47Speaker 1: channels on that.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Yeah, if you have the TV guide situation. Otherwise you're
- 20:51Speaker 2: just flipping through streaming services. Right.
- 20:54Speaker 1: And then finally, here Kimberly, back in my day, we
- 20:56Speaker 1: had to wait for the internet dial up. You couldn't
- 20:59Speaker 1: google everything, you had to watch the ads on TV,
- 21:03Speaker 1: and didn't have take home chrome books or iPads from school.
- 21:07Speaker 1: And then she also said you had to push the
- 21:09Speaker 1: A button three times to get to the letter C
- 21:12Speaker 1: while texting. That really does that is a sign of
- 21:15Speaker 1: adversity right there, which you know you need in life.
- 21:17Speaker 1: You gotta go through a little adversity. If you have
- 21:19Speaker 1: not had to try to hit the button eighteen times
- 21:22Speaker 1: to spell the word act, all right, you haven't been
- 21:26Speaker 1: through nothing.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Prom a night for dancing, romance and hitting your date.
- 21:37Speaker 3: With a shoe.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Okay, come again, listen what happened in my prom.
- 21:45Speaker 2: While I do not condone violence, I also cannot rewrite history.
- 21:50Speaker 2: So I got to tell you the story of how
- 21:53Speaker 2: I hit my date with a shoe but he deserved it.
- 21:56Speaker 2: But again, violence is wrong. So The issue was I
- 22:00Speaker 2: had already broken up, but we had already bought tickets
- 22:03Speaker 2: to problem. We had already agreed we were going.
- 22:06Speaker 3: A classic high school problem.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Yup, and I should. My mistake was saying yes, that
- 22:10Speaker 2: we should still go. But you know what, I already
- 22:13Speaker 2: had a dress. It was nice and sparkly, informed fitting,
- 22:16Speaker 2: and I felt beautiful in it, and I don't want
- 22:18Speaker 2: that to go to waste. So we decided, you know what,
- 22:21Speaker 2: we'll still go together. We're still friends, right, So we
- 22:25Speaker 2: get to the I mean, it was in our high school,
- 22:29Speaker 2: Like Jim, there was no budget.
- 22:30Speaker 3: Okay, there was no venue. We were just at the
- 22:32Speaker 3: high school. That was a problem.
- 22:34Speaker 2: That's a problem. So whenever we get there, we meet
- 22:38Speaker 2: up with friends.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Ha ha ha he he.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Everything is fine. But there was a girl there. I'll
- 22:44Speaker 2: say your name, Marabelle. There was a girl named Marabelle
- 22:47Speaker 2: who I had suspicions that he had a crush on
- 22:51Speaker 2: her and that maybe that's why we broke up. But
- 22:54Speaker 2: I didn't confirm anything. I just I just felt it
- 22:57Speaker 2: felt the vibe like maybe she's the reason. Well whatever,
- 23:01Speaker 2: I let it go. He and I are just friends.
- 23:03Speaker 2: It's fine, it's fine, and so then I went to
- 23:06Speaker 2: use the restroom real quick. You know, I had to
- 23:08Speaker 2: do a little check, make sure the dress was fitting right,
- 23:10Speaker 2: check the mascara.
- 23:11Speaker 3: I didn't have.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Waterproof back then, so you know, you gotta make sure
- 23:14Speaker 2: you're looking right.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:16Speaker 2: And then I come out of the bathroom and I think,
- 23:18Speaker 2: where is my date? And there's a song playing and
- 23:23Speaker 2: I recognized the song. That was my song with him,
- 23:26Speaker 2: that was our song. And so I go stroll out
- 23:30Speaker 2: onto the dance floor and I see him dancing with
- 23:34Speaker 2: Marabelle to our song. I could not believe what I
- 23:41Speaker 2: was witnessing. I was big mad, But rather than make
- 23:46Speaker 2: a big scene, I just I walked away. I didn't
- 23:50Speaker 2: let my little spicy Latin temper get to me. I
- 23:53Speaker 2: walked away and I just sat outside of the high
- 23:56Speaker 2: school until the dance was done. That was dramatic.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I'm just picturing you walking into the gym. There's dark lights,
- 24:03Speaker 1: and there's almost like a light shining down from the
- 24:06Speaker 1: heavens on your date dancing with someone else.
- 24:09Speaker 2: And that felt like hell to me, and that is
- 24:11Speaker 2: why I walked away. But then the dance finishes. Luckily,
- 24:14Speaker 2: there were not that many songs left the dance finishes
- 24:17Speaker 2: where everyone's filing out, and he sees me sitting outside
- 24:21Speaker 2: and he goes, hey, where'd you go?
- 24:24Speaker 3: Where did I go?
- 24:27Speaker 2: Acting all innocent like he didn't know what he did,
- 24:30Speaker 2: And Gabe, I tell you, that's when I saw red
- 24:33Speaker 2: and I took off my sparkly black, strappy, high heeled
- 24:37Speaker 2: shoe and I just started pummeling him with it. How
- 24:42Speaker 2: dare you with every single hit was another syllable.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Of my rage.
- 24:48Speaker 1: That's a very mature response, of course, I mean naturally,
- 24:51Speaker 1: I was sixteen.
- 24:52Speaker 2: So I was making good decisions and he's still, what
- 24:56Speaker 2: are you talking?
- 24:56Speaker 3: Well, I don't even like her like that.
- 24:58Speaker 2: I didn't even realize that was the song though, was playing.
- 25:00Speaker 2: The Oh you didn't realize that our song, our song
- 25:03Speaker 2: from our ten month long relationship. You didn't realize that
- 25:07Speaker 2: was the song playing when all of a sudden done.
- 25:10Speaker 2: He clearly liked that I hit him with the shoe
- 25:12Speaker 2: because we ended up making out. All mistakes were made.
- 25:15Speaker 2: But that's that's my prom horror story. Yeah. Oh, by
- 25:19Speaker 2: the way, the next day, on Monday, he and Marybell
- 25:21Speaker 2: were boyfriend and girlfriend.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Interesting well, Angie at about seven forty one. Every day
- 25:26Speaker 1: we do, am I the problem? I would say in
- 25:29Speaker 1: this scenario, you were definitely the problem.
- 25:33Speaker 3: How dare you? I need some good.
- 25:39Speaker 4: Starting off the day with something good. This is Gabe's
- 25:43Speaker 4: good news on big ninety eight point seven and.
- 25:47Speaker 1: We got a bit of a high school standout here today.
- 25:49Speaker 1: We got to give a big shout out to It's
- 25:51Speaker 1: been a whirlwind few months for Morehead Moreheads Evan Wanner.
- 25:56Speaker 1: He scored the double overtime game winner to secure back
- 25:59Speaker 1: to back state hockey titles for the Spuds. He also
- 26:04Speaker 1: he jumped into some junior hockey for a minute. Now
- 26:07Speaker 1: back in Morehead, Waterer is making noise on the lacrosse field. Oh.
- 26:11Speaker 1: He scored four goals in a recent win and has
- 26:14Speaker 1: become the program's all time leading score with ninety four goals. Also,
- 26:19Speaker 1: this dude's just a bit of a stud is here finale?
- 26:22Speaker 2: He's on a run.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:24Speaker 1: His championship winning hockey helmet is headed to a museum
- 26:27Speaker 1: exhibit this summer, and with a fast start to the season,
- 26:31Speaker 1: Morehead lacrosse looks like a team to watch this spring.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Bit him an athlete over there to go to Evan,
- 26:36Speaker 1: Congratulations to you, my man. We hope you have a
- 26:39Speaker 1: wonderful rest of your Friday, and we hope that for
- 26:42Speaker 1: you as well. Here on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Don't forget my favorite quote, broken crayons, they still color.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Didn't you get to use that? Recently?
- 26:48Speaker 2: I got to use it literally, Liam, My little one
- 26:52Speaker 2: came up to me and said, my creon broke, and
- 26:54Speaker 2: I said, oh my gosh, it's still colors, and then
- 26:57Speaker 2: he colored with it.
- 26:58Speaker 1: It was great, broke, They still color. And the world
- 27:01Speaker 1: is full of nice people. If you can't find one,
- 27:03Speaker 1: you gotta be one.
