Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's still welcome. Everybody welcome. So this week's edition Mister
- 0:20Speaker 1: Rilla Show episode number seven hundred and fifty five or
- 0:23Speaker 1: August first, twenty twenty four, this is your w Ee
- 0:27Speaker 1: SummerSlam preview and predictions editions of as r T You.
- 0:33Speaker 1: I am one after the show, I am Jeff Peck
- 0:35Speaker 1: joined every single week my post on only Doctor Tray Franklin,
- 0:39Speaker 1: Doctor Treya. I did not have Shane McMahon and Tony
- 0:42Speaker 1: Kahn having a meeting on my Bengo card, my friend, Yeah.
- 0:47Speaker 2: That really wasn't on my Bingo card either. I'm I'm
- 0:50Speaker 2: just curious to see that.
- 0:52Speaker 3: If we have to rename Shane McMahon if he does
- 0:56Speaker 3: actually come into aw or is he gonna be.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Shane mac Man Shane Oh yeah.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Shane oh the artist formerly known as Shane O Mack
- 1:07Speaker 3: you know something like that.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Well this is a real name, right, So I'm just
- 1:12Speaker 1: Shane MacMahon. I like that one.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Yeah, space it out of love. They spell Man with
- 1:18Speaker 2: with no H is just m A N N.
- 1:21Speaker 1: He's just He's just a nineties character. He's the mac Man.
- 1:25Speaker 2: He comes out to Return of the Mac Yeah, exactly.
- 1:28Speaker 2: There you go. So it wasn't on my Bengo card either.
- 1:32Speaker 3: But you know, and again two years ago, did we
- 1:35Speaker 3: think that there'd be no McMahon's really.
- 1:37Speaker 2: In w W.
- 1:38Speaker 1: E No, And I also didn't think cm punk was
- 1:40Speaker 1: gonna be in w W. Yeah, I mean, it's it's
- 1:44Speaker 1: it's a wild time for professional wrestling. It's a very
- 1:47Speaker 1: fun time, but a very wild time for professional wrestling.
- 1:50Speaker 1: So there were two photos, one which actually dropped during
- 1:53Speaker 1: last week's recording, and then obviously one that I saw
- 1:57Speaker 1: on Wednesday of Shane McMahon and Tony k in a
- 2:00Speaker 1: meeting with one another in a private office at Airport
- 2:06Speaker 1: in Arlington, So that was certainly one photo. The second
- 2:10Speaker 1: one was Drew McIntyre and Jack Perry together and I
- 2:13Speaker 1: was like, man, that is a shocking photo. I can't
- 2:15Speaker 1: believe that's taking you know, that's out there on the internet.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Drew McIntyre ended up like deleting that tweet an Instagram post. However,
- 2:23Speaker 1: I think the Seane McMahon Tony knphoto is like the
- 2:26Speaker 1: most shocking one I've ever seen.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, if you if you remember a certain
- 2:33Speaker 3: Hall of Fame ceremony from a few years ago where
- 2:37Speaker 3: Billy Gunn was there, and there's the mention of a
- 2:40Speaker 3: you know, kind of the mention of him working for
- 2:41Speaker 3: somebody else, and Trip Place made the comment that Vince
- 2:44Speaker 3: could just buy up that little piss anc company whenever
- 2:46Speaker 3: he wanted to. It's interesting to see this actually play
- 2:50Speaker 3: out because you know where there Shane is there, Evince
- 2:55Speaker 3: looming in the background. Since he's now pretty much completely
- 2:59Speaker 3: divested for on TKO holdings.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Does the holy unholy.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Union of Vince and Tony Kahan come into play or
- 3:07Speaker 3: is this strictly Shane just trying to make amends for
- 3:11Speaker 3: tearing both his squads dancing at WrestleMania two years ago.
- 3:14Speaker 1: He wasn't dancing, wasn't he doing like a leap frog?
- 3:17Speaker 2: I thought he was.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Doing his entrance dance in the little Shane o Mac,
- 3:21Speaker 3: you know, Diddy and.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Torrent and I thought it was always a leap frog.
- 3:27Speaker 1: But we'll have to go back and watch the footage
- 3:29Speaker 1: if he in fact didn't tear his quads acl whatever
- 3:33Speaker 1: he did that night and Niniscus whatever doing his Shane
- 3:36Speaker 1: o Mac dance. So this is obviously a huge story.
- 3:39Speaker 1: It's kind of been building for some time, and it's
- 3:42Speaker 1: it's very funny. There's definitely some conspiracy theories that I
- 3:45Speaker 1: have behind this that we'll get to here in just
- 3:47Speaker 1: a little bit while as we talk about this. But
- 3:50Speaker 1: there was a report out there from a Fightful Select
- 3:53Speaker 1: and Wrestle Talk, and the report stated that this past
- 3:56Speaker 1: month of July twenty nine, Tony Kahan and Shane McMann
- 3:59Speaker 1: s down together for the first time. While con has
- 4:02Speaker 1: been receptive to the idea of McMahon and AW and
- 4:05Speaker 1: this also comes to us from Wrestling, Inc, the two
- 4:07Speaker 1: had never actually spoken before. Earlier this week, talks between
- 4:10Speaker 1: the parties seemed to be in the early stages, with
- 4:11Speaker 1: a fight Full statement at their sources back stage in
- 4:13Speaker 1: AW who had not been briefed on the meeting as
- 4:15Speaker 1: of Tuesday. In addition to the description of the meeting,
- 4:18Speaker 1: and Wrestle Talk posted a photo showing Conor McMahon in
- 4:20Speaker 1: a small conference room together. Cohn has like this shot
- 4:24Speaker 1: look on his face or smiley look on his face,
- 4:26Speaker 1: and sham Commn is looking rather serious.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Then.
- 4:31Speaker 1: More to this story, this comes to us from Bully
- 4:36Speaker 1: Ray on Busted Open Radio. So he reached out to
- 4:39Speaker 1: Sea McMann like I they had a conversation and then
- 4:42Speaker 1: he somehow got like this text asking him about this
- 4:46Speaker 1: entire meeting and shame. McMahon issued a statement in response
- 4:49Speaker 1: to the news of his meeting with Tony con saying quote,
- 4:51Speaker 1: Tony and I were connected through a mutual friend and
- 4:53Speaker 1: we had a great meeting. We talked about many things,
- 4:55Speaker 1: but mostly about our shared love for the business and
- 4:57Speaker 1: the rewards and challenges of working with family. I congratulate
- 5:01Speaker 1: him on the five year anniversary of AW and look
- 5:03Speaker 1: forward to see how he evolves the business moving forward.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Another layer there. One more comes to us from Dave
- 5:10Speaker 1: Meltzer from russellm Ser Radio, saying quote, I know that
- 5:16Speaker 1: Sha McMann has looked to get back in we. I
- 5:19Speaker 1: know that people in charge of W had have no
- 5:22Speaker 1: interest in him. Could that change with the idea that
- 5:25Speaker 1: to be willing to go to AW? Maybe maybe not?
- 5:27Speaker 1: Could he be really be willing to go to AW?
- 5:29Speaker 1: I don't know where his mind is. Should AW take him,
- 5:32Speaker 1: which is probably the big question. Is it a leverage
- 5:35Speaker 1: play for him to try and get back into WA,
- 5:37Speaker 1: which wouldn't surprise me at all, But I know from
- 5:40Speaker 1: people in WA, like I said, he's trying to get back.
- 5:42Speaker 1: There's a lot of negativity, I would say, has been
- 5:45Speaker 1: there for a long time, which is an interesting layer
- 5:49Speaker 1: to it. And then finally, doctor Trey on this entire thing.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Russell Votes tweeted out the following, saying, quote, ask a
- 5:56Speaker 1: longtime w employee friendly with Shane for thoughts on the
- 5:58Speaker 1: Tony Kahn picture. The response quote, Shane's as smart as
- 6:02Speaker 1: they come. Take it a preliminary meeting. Doesn't surprise anyone here.
- 6:05Speaker 1: End quote. There's a lot to peel away here, Doctor
- 6:08Speaker 1: Trey first and foremost, and once again, Shane McMahon and
- 6:12Speaker 1: Tony Kahn had a meeting. Is he aw bound?
- 6:20Speaker 2: Maybe?
- 6:21Speaker 3: I just don't think it's as soon as some people
- 6:25Speaker 3: are projecting. Like you mentioned to me, this is kind
- 6:28Speaker 3: of a leverage play. This is him seeing what's out there,
- 6:32Speaker 3: what's available. Obviously, like you said, he's had interest and
- 6:36Speaker 3: come back to WWE to be rebuffed. Well, Hey, if
- 6:39Speaker 3: I'm WWE and the sun of our longtime owner is
- 6:44Speaker 3: about to go to our competition, maybe I should take
- 6:47Speaker 3: that meeting a little more seriously and start seeing what's
- 6:50Speaker 3: up for him. He's got leverage in the sense of,
- 6:55Speaker 3: you know, he spent so much time in China, working
- 6:58Speaker 3: with net with their networks and distribution channels out there,
- 7:02Speaker 3: that this could be a great move for AEW to
- 7:05Speaker 3: bring somebody who has those kind of connections to get
- 7:07Speaker 3: more distribution in China. It makes sense on a name
- 7:11Speaker 3: value as well, So it's a very smart move on
- 7:14Speaker 3: Shane's part to try to get a ball rolling that
- 7:18Speaker 3: may have been stuck for a while.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Yeah, the entire thing is just overall shocking to me.
- 7:24Speaker 1: There's always been this weird rumor that there was potential
- 7:27Speaker 1: tension between Triple H, Stephanie and Seane McMahon and maybe
- 7:30Speaker 1: that's what led him leaving the company over a decade
- 7:33Speaker 1: ago before he returned in the last five to ten years.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Do you think that there's tension there, because I know
- 7:39Speaker 1: there's always tension, weird awkwardness and families in general. But
- 7:42Speaker 1: there have been personal photos out there where it was
- 7:45Speaker 1: Triple H at Shane McMahon's son's high school graduation, which
- 7:48Speaker 1: wasn't that long ago. I think it was like two
- 7:50Speaker 1: three years ago, and they are families, and it doesn't
- 7:53Speaker 1: seem like to me from the outside looking in obviously
- 7:56Speaker 1: that either Shaan McMahon nor Stephanie are jackass anyway. If anything,
- 8:01Speaker 1: what I've always heard is that Stephanie McMahon is like
- 8:04Speaker 1: a great businesswoman but a sweetheart, and Shane McMahon is
- 8:08Speaker 1: a smart businessman, but he's like one of the guys. Like,
- 8:11Speaker 1: where do we think of the family aspect of this
- 8:13Speaker 1: entire thing? Because this is this is shocking, because there
- 8:16Speaker 1: is the Tony Kahn element, which I will get to
- 8:17Speaker 1: here momentarily, because I know for a fact, if Tony
- 8:20Speaker 1: Kahan spoke about my dad in any way like he has,
- 8:24Speaker 1: I would never meet with the guy. If anything, I'm
- 8:26Speaker 1: punching him in the face.
- 8:29Speaker 3: I think, you know, when it comes to McMahon's as
- 8:32Speaker 3: a whole, we shouldn't look at them through.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Normal family lenses.
- 8:39Speaker 3: I guess as a way of putting it, it's a
- 8:41Speaker 3: very unique family, and I'm sure at some point there
- 8:45Speaker 3: was tension between Shane, Triple Ah and Stephanie, especially you
- 8:50Speaker 3: know early on we go back to you know, you
- 8:52Speaker 3: and I go back to our fanoms for a very
- 8:54Speaker 3: long time, you go back to the WCW attitude era
- 8:57Speaker 3: of Wars, and for a long time, these was always
- 9:00Speaker 3: that Vince was going to pass the company to Shane,
- 9:04Speaker 3: and then all of a sudden, it became Shane and Stephanie,
- 9:08Speaker 3: and then Triple H gets factored in, and then you
- 9:10Speaker 3: guys are wondering, like, was was Triple H really kind
- 9:13Speaker 3: of more the son that Vince always wanted, maybe a
- 9:16Speaker 3: little more than Shane, you know, Shane going off and
- 9:19Speaker 3: doing his own thing, prodigal son type of this situation.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Like, it's a.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Very unique dynamic within that family. I mean, there was
- 9:26Speaker 3: there were rumors a year or two ago that Stephanie
- 9:29Speaker 3: and Triple H were about to divorce, and that hasn't
- 9:32Speaker 3: come out. There's you know, Vince and Linda and their marriage,
- 9:36Speaker 3: and obviously Vince has a girlfriend, but he's still married.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I mean that that family is not your traditional American
- 9:42Speaker 3: nuclear family. So I understand your point, Like, if somebody
- 9:46Speaker 3: talked about my dad that way, I wouldn't talk to him.
- 9:48Speaker 3: But this is not a normal family with normal things
- 9:52Speaker 3: that go on in it. So once again, Shane's got
- 9:55Speaker 3: a son that's in college, who's.
- 9:57Speaker 2: You know, you know, a Division I athlete. He's got
- 10:00Speaker 2: another son in high school.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Obviously there's some things that he still wants to accomplish
- 10:05Speaker 3: in the world of professional wrestling. And then also maybe
- 10:07Speaker 3: open the doors for his kids to eventually move into
- 10:11Speaker 3: the realm of professional wrestling.
- 10:12Speaker 2: So hey, like I said earlier, if I can.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Get this ball rolling, whether it's WWE or AEW, let
- 10:18Speaker 3: me see if I can't open some doors for my
- 10:21Speaker 3: kids as well as for me and kind of keep
- 10:24Speaker 3: the family tradition alive, so to speak.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Furthermore, I mean all things encompassing here to me, after
- 10:30Speaker 1: everything I've known in professional wrestling as a wrestling fan,
- 10:33Speaker 1: this is, while very shocking, such McMahon move as a family.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I mean, this is such a McMahon move where they
- 10:42Speaker 1: will put business ahead of anything personal. I mean, Tony
- 10:46Speaker 1: Kahan has taken absolute dumps on your family's business and
- 10:52Speaker 1: everything that they do that they're responsible for and more,
- 10:55Speaker 1: and has dragged your father's name through the colls like
- 10:58Speaker 1: if you looked at the first couple of year years
- 11:00Speaker 1: of AW even prior to Tony Kahn and interviews refer to
- 11:04Speaker 1: Vince mcmannon as like his hero, one of his heroes,
- 11:06Speaker 1: a guy that he wanted to sit down and have
- 11:07Speaker 1: dinner with. I remember reading at one time. As time
- 11:11Speaker 1: went on and WW, according to Tony Kahn, did things
- 11:14Speaker 1: that were a little bit shady off business practice things
- 11:18Speaker 1: that he didn't like. He ran that name through the
- 11:20Speaker 1: coles as much as possible. He referred to w W
- 11:24Speaker 1: as the Harvey Weinstein a professional wrestling And why is
- 11:28Speaker 1: that because of the stuff that's going on with Vince
- 11:31Speaker 1: McMahon and the potential court case of sex trafficking, human trafficking,
- 11:36Speaker 1: what have you? You know, doctor Trey mentioned, is this
- 11:39Speaker 1: going to open the door to Vince coming? I don't
- 11:41Speaker 1: think Vince is ever coming to aw given the current
- 11:46Speaker 1: circumstances he's dealing with from a legal standpoint. However, this
- 11:50Speaker 1: is just to me such a McMahon move and there's
- 11:55Speaker 1: going to be some weird ill will in w W
- 11:58Speaker 1: where Shane is not welcomed. There's this story from twenty
- 12:02Speaker 1: twenty one's Royal Rumble match where Shane was brought in.
- 12:07Speaker 1: He was the producer and he was tasked to run
- 12:12Speaker 1: that match and according to reports, like he it was
- 12:15Speaker 1: such a clusterfuck, which if you go back and you
- 12:17Speaker 1: watch that Royal Rumble match, it was excuse me, twenty
- 12:22Speaker 1: twenty two Royal Rumble was the was the one that
- 12:26Speaker 1: was like a huge, huge clusterfuck. It was a bad
- 12:29Speaker 1: Royal Rumble, and he did all these spots to make
- 12:31Speaker 1: himself look good, which rubbed people the wrong way. He
- 12:34Speaker 1: was written out of storylines. Vince didn't want to bring
- 12:37Speaker 1: him back anything like that. But time and time again,
- 12:41Speaker 1: Russell Manty thirty nine, here comes Shane McMahon. He's back
- 12:44Speaker 1: out there. He's dancing, he's tearing his squads and in
- 12:47Speaker 1: an impromptu match with the Miz and he's on the
- 12:50Speaker 1: shelf and we haven't seen him sist since. It's it's
- 12:54Speaker 1: bizarre in a world of professional wrestling where you can
- 12:59Speaker 1: get a little bit of stories here and there as
- 13:03Speaker 1: to how people feel about a specific person, especially somebody
- 13:07Speaker 1: like a McMahon, like Shane McMahon. It is a tough
- 13:10Speaker 1: read Doctor Trey, because there are stories out there, maybe
- 13:13Speaker 1: they're filtered by Shane and his people, that say he's
- 13:16Speaker 1: a great guy, very fun to work with, people love
- 13:19Speaker 1: having him around, he's one of the boys. And then
- 13:21Speaker 1: you get these stories out there as well that he's
- 13:23Speaker 1: a businessman, he tries to put himself over, he's not
- 13:27Speaker 1: as well liked as he's perceived. Somewhere in the middle.
- 13:30Speaker 1: As always, Doctor Trey is the truth and all in all,
- 13:34Speaker 1: this is a very strategic move by Shane. But I
- 13:37Speaker 1: can't get past the fact that if he loves his dad,
- 13:40Speaker 1: if he has a good relationship with his dad, still,
- 13:42Speaker 1: how the hell can he meet with Tony Kahan.
- 13:45Speaker 2: I mean, nothing really surprises me.
- 13:48Speaker 3: But you know, I don't follow Shane on LinkedIn, but
- 13:51Speaker 3: since WrestleMania thirty nine, we really haven't heard about him
- 13:54Speaker 3: doing anything, you know, So like I said, like this
- 13:58Speaker 3: is a way for him to kind of.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Get his name out there again. See what's out there.
- 14:02Speaker 3: See if if by him meeting with aw maybe TKO
- 14:06Speaker 3: gets a little interested. It is weird, and I love
- 14:09Speaker 3: that you brought this up that there is almost like
- 14:11Speaker 3: two different Shanes, and a lot of it seems to
- 14:13Speaker 3: be the Shane prior to leaving in the Shane coming back.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Like the Shane priorly.
- 14:20Speaker 3: It's what always heard a great guy, one of the boys,
- 14:23Speaker 3: you know, didn't mind doing all the crazy stuff like
- 14:25Speaker 3: getting suplex through glass at King of the Ring, loved
- 14:29Speaker 3: all that stuff.
- 14:30Speaker 2: But then the shame since you know, kind of the
- 14:32Speaker 2: last few years where he.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Became kind of the quote unquote, you know, hell in
- 14:37Speaker 3: a cell spot monkey type Shane, like what's he going
- 14:39Speaker 3: to dive off of this time.
- 14:41Speaker 2: It's a different Shane that we hear about.
- 14:43Speaker 3: And it might be because he's trying to impress the kids,
- 14:46Speaker 3: or he's trying to like stay relevant or something like that.
- 14:49Speaker 3: I don't know what it is, but it does feel
- 14:50Speaker 3: like there's two different trains of thought when it comes
- 14:54Speaker 3: to Shane McMahon the person and you know you mentioned
- 14:57Speaker 3: you know, if you love your dad, why did you
- 14:58Speaker 3: take this meeting? If you love your sister and her
- 15:02Speaker 3: husband is the seat with the Chief Content Officer, the
- 15:06Speaker 3: CCO of WWE, you know, by taking this meeting and
- 15:11Speaker 3: putting out that god awful picture, Uh, it's gonna get
- 15:15Speaker 3: back and it's gonna it's gonna ruffle some feathers. So
- 15:18Speaker 3: it's a strategic move in the sense of it's getting
- 15:21Speaker 3: my name out there and something is going to happen
- 15:25Speaker 3: because I took this meeting.
- 15:27Speaker 2: So this is the Shane businessman part playing out more
- 15:30Speaker 2: than anything else.
- 15:31Speaker 1: All in all, at the end of the day, from
- 15:34Speaker 1: both Tony Kahan and Shane McMahon, is this a potential
- 15:37Speaker 1: business opportunity? Absolutely? Is this an opportunity for Shane to
- 15:41Speaker 1: join aaw Absolutely? But what does this move overall? This
- 15:46Speaker 1: is a total fuck you move from both Tony Kahan
- 15:50Speaker 1: and Shane McMahon to wa We are going into SummerSlam
- 15:54Speaker 1: week in a couple of days. Unless things change, there
- 15:57Speaker 1: will be a press conference following Somelam. Triple H will
- 16:01Speaker 1: be taking questions. I can almost guarantee that one of
- 16:05Speaker 1: the first three questions asked of him will be absolutely
- 16:09Speaker 1: one hundred and ten percent this entire story of Tony
- 16:14Speaker 1: Kahan and Seae McMahon meeting, how the company feels, how
- 16:17Speaker 1: the family feels, and there'll be some sort of political response.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I can almost guarantee that he has been prepped to
- 16:23Speaker 1: already answer this question from his PR team, that this
- 16:27Speaker 1: is everything is going to be laid out on the
- 16:30Speaker 1: table to a degree. So I mean they're still in headlines.
- 16:35Speaker 1: We are opening up the show heading into SummerSlam weekend,
- 16:39Speaker 1: one of the second biggest show that they do in Wae,
- 16:42Speaker 1: soon to be a two night event in a couple
- 16:44Speaker 1: of years. By talking about Sean McMahon meeting with Tony
- 16:48Speaker 1: Khan and a little bit of hell freezing over more
- 16:51Speaker 1: than anything I've ever seen, I mean this talk about
- 16:53Speaker 1: Brett Hart coming back, talk about Ultimate Warrior coming back,
- 16:56Speaker 1: see him Punk coming back to w WE. Those are
- 17:00Speaker 1: are like steps below a McMahon meeting with Tony Kahan,
- 17:06Speaker 1: while there are McMahon's or family members tied to McMahon
- 17:11Speaker 1: family still involved with WA. I mean, this is this
- 17:14Speaker 1: is mind blowing in a lot of ways, but at
- 17:16Speaker 1: the end of the day, Doctor Trey, I think this
- 17:17Speaker 1: is a total f you move from both Tony Kahan
- 17:20Speaker 1: and Shane McMann to WA.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I love if you said, you know, I'm sure
- 17:25Speaker 3: Trip Place is getting prepped by the PR team. I'm
- 17:27Speaker 3: sure he's getting prepped by his sister or by by
- 17:30Speaker 3: his wife. Like it's it is a complete f you move,
- 17:33Speaker 3: and you know you're alluding to like the hell freezing.
- 17:36Speaker 3: I mean, we just had Jesse Ventura appear at Monday
- 17:40Speaker 3: Night Raw this past week, Like Jesse and WW have
- 17:44Speaker 3: not gotten along very well over the last eleven years,
- 17:47Speaker 3: and we're starting to show off about with Shane and
- 17:50Speaker 3: Tony Khan. Because this is not Becky Lynch taking a
- 17:54Speaker 3: meeting with Tony Khan. This is not a talent to
- 17:56Speaker 3: a free agent talent taking. This is the brother in
- 17:59Speaker 3: law of the man who runs this company. Taking a
- 18:03Speaker 3: meeting with direct competition like that's I swear to God to.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Yes.
- 18:10Speaker 3: I'm like, I really want to see a McMahon Helmsley Thanksgiving.
- 18:15Speaker 3: I just want to see what the hell goes on
- 18:18Speaker 3: at one of those things when the grandkids are gathered around,
- 18:20Speaker 3: everybody's there. How is there not how to fight breakout
- 18:25Speaker 3: at the Thanksgiving dinner that we find out about over
- 18:28Speaker 3: the past fifteen years with this family, It's it's mind blowing.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Is there any part of you that think that there's
- 18:36Speaker 1: a little bit of an inside job like that Shane
- 18:38Speaker 1: is still team Triple H and Stephanie team W and
- 18:41Speaker 1: is taking this meeting to kind of like, I don't know,
- 18:45Speaker 1: not ruffle feathers and we but like make people laugh
- 18:47Speaker 1: in w Like let's talk about conspiracy theories here.
- 18:51Speaker 3: I mean the best conspiracy theory would be like Shane
- 18:53Speaker 3: and his dad are still tight das not in the
- 18:56Speaker 3: company anymore by taking this meeting. It's not Vince meeting
- 18:59Speaker 3: with Tony con but kind of the same similarities we
- 19:03Speaker 3: talked about a couple of years ago when Vince retired
- 19:06Speaker 3: but all of his generals are still in place, and
- 19:09Speaker 3: was he still kind of running the show.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Maybe this is a way for them.
- 19:13Speaker 3: Maybe Shane's the intermediary between Tony and Vince and that's
- 19:20Speaker 3: the buffer to kind of get that ball rolling. And
- 19:23Speaker 3: at some point, I mean in Vince could have his
- 19:26Speaker 3: two kids working for the working for competing companies, and
- 19:30Speaker 3: then how much power does Vince have if he's got
- 19:32Speaker 3: a son in AAW and a daughter or a son
- 19:35Speaker 3: in law running WWE. Like that's the ultimate chess move,
- 19:40Speaker 3: is that when you can put your pawns in place
- 19:42Speaker 3: to help run two different companies.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Last thing I want to talk about here in regards
- 19:46Speaker 1: to the entire thing, So let's just say, for conversation's sake,
- 19:49Speaker 1: AW signed Seae McMahon, Shay mcmann's and the company. Does
- 19:53Speaker 1: that get you excited for the AW product or is
- 19:55Speaker 1: it just one of those things where it's like a
- 19:57Speaker 1: car crash that you can't stop staring at and you
- 19:59Speaker 1: just want to see him man standing in the all
- 20:01Speaker 1: elite wrestling ring.
- 20:04Speaker 3: I mean, on one hand, it would get me excited
- 20:06Speaker 3: if he's brought in to help distribution and maybe help
- 20:09Speaker 3: negotiate the Warner brother deal or something like that, something
- 20:12Speaker 3: that's actually in his wheelhouse of being a businessman. I
- 20:16Speaker 3: don't know how excited I get about Shane being in
- 20:19Speaker 3: a ring with anybody in aew because that means we
- 20:23Speaker 3: have to see Shane's punches and kicks again. And any
- 20:27Speaker 3: longtime listener of this show knows how much Jeff Peck
- 20:30Speaker 3: loves watching Sean mcmanh throw punches and kicks.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Oh, I mean Sean McMahon, the person, the personality, the
- 20:36Speaker 1: character on TV. I'm all there for. If you're a
- 20:39Speaker 1: longtime listening to this podcast, you know Seane McMahon the
- 20:42Speaker 1: executive being on an even playing field with anybody in
- 20:45Speaker 1: professional wrestling is not good at all. I mean, there
- 20:49Speaker 1: is nobody on a w roster that should be like
- 20:52Speaker 1: giving him as much offense as he did, or putting
- 20:55Speaker 1: him in spots with aj Styles the Miz. But now
- 20:57Speaker 1: I'm getting on a tangent which doctor Trevis was hoping
- 21:00Speaker 1: I would do. But very very very bizarre. I thought again,
- 21:04Speaker 1: Drew McIntyre Jack Perry picture was out of control in
- 21:07Speaker 1: a while, and mind blowing that picture, Tony Kahan Shay
- 21:10Speaker 1: McMahon just as equally mind blowing. I just heard you say, Oh,
- 21:13Speaker 1: doctor Trey, everything all right?
- 21:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I get these great ideas every soft that popped
- 21:18Speaker 3: in my head. And you know, there there's been talk
- 21:21Speaker 3: about the rebranding of Ring of Honor and bringing it
- 21:25Speaker 3: more Cyprian. And then we get Shane in a Ring
- 21:27Speaker 3: of Honor ring saying, yes, the contract has been signed,
- 21:30Speaker 3: but there's a big man owning Ring of Honor, and
- 21:34Speaker 3: then we end up getting some kind of Ring of
- 21:35Speaker 3: Honor aw invasion angle.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Wasn't that the joke when he when he when con
- 21:42Speaker 1: was about to announce that he was becoming the owner
- 21:45Speaker 1: of r O H. They somebody was like, is the
- 21:47Speaker 1: big ant is the contract? Say Shane on it? Or
- 21:50Speaker 1: and he said, Shane's not here. That would be pretty funny.
- 21:53Speaker 1: But there you go, Tony Kahan and Shane O. Mack
- 21:58Speaker 1: meeting Mono E Mono to discuss potential business opportunities in
- 22:03Speaker 1: the world of professional wrestling. We'll have to keep an
- 22:05Speaker 1: eye on that moving forward. I thought it was a
- 22:07Speaker 1: pipe dream, and then they met and then a photo
- 22:09Speaker 1: was taken and the world has been in an uproar
- 22:12Speaker 1: here the restling world in the last week heading into SummerSlam,
- 22:17Speaker 1: keeping with AW Doctor Trey is announced on last night's
- 22:21Speaker 1: edition of Dynamite that the Brian Danielson Swerve Strickland main
- 22:25Speaker 1: event match for the AW World haaweight Championship will now
- 22:28Speaker 1: be a career versus title match, Daniel Brian saying that
- 22:33Speaker 1: if he cannot defeat Swerve Strickland, his career will be
- 22:37Speaker 1: over at aw all In. This is interesting because it
- 22:41Speaker 1: came off some reports this past week in regards to
- 22:44Speaker 1: Brian Danielson's current physical condition going into aw all In.
- 22:48Speaker 1: This comes to us from Wrestling Inc. Via Fightful Select
- 22:54Speaker 1: reporting the following saying that fight Full Select reports that
- 22:56Speaker 1: a recent interviewed Danielson cut with Renee Piquette. This is
- 22:59Speaker 1: the one where Jeff chair Is cuts him off, gets
- 23:01Speaker 1: interrupted and all that stuff where he stated that an
- 23:04Speaker 1: AW doctor Michael Sampson didn't want him competing till aw
- 23:07Speaker 1: all In had some truth to it would a Wembley
- 23:10Speaker 1: Stadium show on the rise in aw doctors have put
- 23:12Speaker 1: restrictions on Danielsen leading into the show, with said restrictions
- 23:15Speaker 1: preventing Danielson from participating in angles or matches that he
- 23:19Speaker 1: had planned for previously. Regardless, while Danielson has banged up,
- 23:22Speaker 1: it was known that Danielson has long been planned to
- 23:24Speaker 1: being the Wembley main event, and it appears there was
- 23:27Speaker 1: never consideration of him moving from the spot. Also confirmed
- 23:31Speaker 1: was that Danielson's talent contract with the AW would expire
- 23:33Speaker 1: in August first, something else Danielsen discussed in his interview
- 23:37Speaker 1: with Piquette. He also mentioned it on last night's Dynamite. However,
- 23:40Speaker 1: no one should expect to see Danielson elsewhere anytime soon,
- 23:42Speaker 1: as there's an active plan for him to remain involved
- 23:45Speaker 1: with AW over the next month and possibly beyond. Regarding
- 23:48Speaker 1: any questions on whether Danielson's plans to leave resting full
- 23:50Speaker 1: time or legit, that is believed to be the case
- 23:53Speaker 1: and that Danielson will be at best a part time
- 23:56Speaker 1: wrestler wants his current AW run comes to an end.
- 24:01Speaker 1: End quote here, that's tray. There's a lot of layers
- 24:03Speaker 1: to it. I'm excited for AW all in. I'm excited
- 24:07Speaker 1: for the build. The build has been very good overall
- 24:09Speaker 1: for the show heading into the late August. I'm excited
- 24:12Speaker 1: about this match because these are two of my favorites.
- 24:15Speaker 1: They added the stipulation, I am that much more intrigued.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Your thoughts on everything that is being discussed behind the
- 24:20Speaker 1: scenes regards to Brian Danielson's physical condition heading into All In,
- 24:24Speaker 1: and now the stipulation beat added to the main event
- 24:28Speaker 1: match with swar Strickland.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not a fan of stipulations like this being
- 24:34Speaker 3: added when you know somebody's contrast kind of up and
- 24:39Speaker 3: you hear these reports, because then it's like, okay, well,
- 24:42Speaker 3: if if Brian Danielson wins, is he actually able to
- 24:46Speaker 3: be able to defend the title, like or is he
- 24:48Speaker 3: you know, is he too beat up to do that?
- 24:50Speaker 3: Because you and I both know that this match with
- 24:52Speaker 3: him and Swerve is gonna be very, very physical.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Swerve does not have easy matches.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Everything looks tough and hard and violin and your body's
- 25:01Speaker 3: basically put through a car crash coming out of it.
- 25:03Speaker 3: So it just I don't like needing to add this
- 25:08Speaker 3: layer onto it, like we could literally have the match
- 25:12Speaker 3: and then Brian comes out on Wednesday following you know,
- 25:15Speaker 3: all In and do his little, you know, another retirement speech.
- 25:19Speaker 3: I mean, I to me, it's just like an unnecessary
- 25:22Speaker 3: thing to add on to it. But you know, if
- 25:25Speaker 3: it adds intrigue and advice, I guess I'm fine with it.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Just as a longtime fan.
- 25:29Speaker 3: I'm just not a huge fan of these things when
- 25:32Speaker 3: there's so much out in the open about the surrounding
- 25:36Speaker 3: circumstances leading into it.
- 25:37Speaker 1: See. I think that's where we different because I think
- 25:39Speaker 1: this adds to a little bit of intrigue because of
- 25:41Speaker 1: the stuff that's going on behind the scenes. Obviously aw
- 25:43Speaker 1: knows it's out there, they're having them talk about it in interviews.
- 25:48Speaker 1: It's the interesting part that doesn't make sense that I
- 25:51Speaker 1: will agree with you on is his contract status saying
- 25:54Speaker 1: that he will no longer be an active performer, and
- 25:57Speaker 1: it's like, okay, well, then what are you gonna do.
- 25:59Speaker 1: You're gonna put the championship Bonham and he's going to
- 26:00Speaker 1: perform once every four months. Isn't that what you bashed
- 26:03Speaker 1: we on when they were doing like the lesnar Roman
- 26:06Speaker 1: reign stuff. So that part I'm totally with. I say,
- 26:10Speaker 1: like twenty five percent of this entire thing to seventy
- 26:13Speaker 1: five percent I'm like excited and intrigued with is I'm
- 26:16Speaker 1: wondering if we're getting worked a little bit in this
- 26:18Speaker 1: entire thing, and maybe he is doing a full time
- 26:21Speaker 1: run before he goes or the plan is if he
- 26:23Speaker 1: is a champion, he's going to do full time. Still,
- 26:27Speaker 1: maybe these stories that he's putting out there, that the
- 26:30Speaker 1: Dirt Sheets are putting out there are a little bit
- 26:32Speaker 1: tongue in cheek, a little bit fabricated to make people
- 26:35Speaker 1: all pun intended swerve when it comes to the match
- 26:38Speaker 1: that's coming up there between he and Strickland at aw
- 26:41Speaker 1: all In on August twenty fifth. So it does it
- 26:44Speaker 1: blurs the lines of reality, which is what we like
- 26:48Speaker 1: in professional wrestling. If we sit here the day after
- 26:52Speaker 1: all In and Swerve, Strickland's won and Daniel Bryan has
- 26:55Speaker 1: said goodbye, maybe we'll be critical of a little bit
- 26:58Speaker 1: more of the direction they had for this match heading
- 27:01Speaker 1: into it and all those stories being let out, especially
- 27:05Speaker 1: from the aw side of things in their YouTube programming
- 27:08Speaker 1: and then their actual programming on Dynamite. But if he
- 27:11Speaker 1: wins the championship, there's gonna be like that week where
- 27:14Speaker 1: it's like, okay, so what's happening here with Brian Danielson,
- 27:17Speaker 1: And I find that intriguing. I don't know what it is.
- 27:20Speaker 1: I think career title versus title matches Doctor Trey they
- 27:24Speaker 1: always interest me. It's it's something anytime that there's a
- 27:26Speaker 1: career on the line like this, It's probably one of
- 27:30Speaker 1: the most intriguing stipulations you can have. And I think
- 27:33Speaker 1: the only thing that envied that for me as a
- 27:36Speaker 1: professional wrestling fan my entire time and watching the sport
- 27:39Speaker 1: was when Undertaker perform at wrestlming the street was on
- 27:42Speaker 1: the line. Like career matches where wrestless careers on the line,
- 27:47Speaker 1: I've always found very, very intriguing over the years.
- 27:51Speaker 3: I think I go back to I think it was
- 27:53Speaker 3: wrestling in twenty six career versus streak and for me,
- 27:56Speaker 3: and maybe this is why I have such a huge
- 27:59Speaker 3: Sean Michaels fan. Going into that match, I kind of
- 28:01Speaker 3: knew it was his last match, and I think there's
- 28:03Speaker 3: part of me that just goes, man, I really don't
- 28:06Speaker 3: want this to be the last match. And in this
- 28:09Speaker 3: situation now, one thing I'll say about this situation in
- 28:12Speaker 3: particular is that over the five years, aw can keep
- 28:17Speaker 3: secrets when they want to keep secrets, and they can
- 28:20Speaker 3: put stuff out and make us talk about it and
- 28:23Speaker 3: make us think about it when that's the.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Rest sure they want to go.
- 28:26Speaker 3: So in this situation, you're absoually right, this may be
- 28:28Speaker 3: a complete work. This may be them putting something out
- 28:31Speaker 3: there to get guys like you and I talking about it,
- 28:34Speaker 3: to create that extra layer of intrigue in everything else,
- 28:37Speaker 3: and then for it to all be, like you said,
- 28:41Speaker 3: like a lack of a better term, a swerve and
- 28:44Speaker 3: Brian's got another year, year and a half run on
- 28:46Speaker 3: him and we get Brian Danson title matches for three
- 28:49Speaker 3: months straight.
- 28:50Speaker 2: I mean, it could be all work.
- 28:52Speaker 3: And that's one of the things at least with AW
- 28:54Speaker 3: that they do well is if they want something to
- 28:56Speaker 3: get out to lead into storylines or create some in
- 29:00Speaker 3: they do it. If they want things to be quiet,
- 29:02Speaker 3: they can keep stuff quiet. It's just like in this
- 29:05Speaker 3: situation career versus titles, like I don't know if you
- 29:11Speaker 3: needed the extra layer on it, but if this is
- 29:14Speaker 3: all to get us all talking, they've done a great,
- 29:16Speaker 3: fantastic job.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Yeah. I look at some of the histories there and
- 29:19Speaker 1: we're gonna name a lot of WrestleMania stuff, but Ultimate
- 29:21Speaker 1: Warrior and Macho Man Randy Savage. I think that was
- 29:24Speaker 1: WrestleMania seven when they had a career match, and then
- 29:29Speaker 1: you had Rick Flayer, Shawn Michael's wrestlmant in twenty four,
- 29:31Speaker 1: the one that Doctor Trade has talked about Undertaker versus
- 29:34Speaker 1: shown Michael's Wrestlemanti. It's twenty six Street versus Career. Going
- 29:38Speaker 1: back to my point of like two things that I
- 29:40Speaker 1: love the most for stipulations would be to streak when
- 29:43Speaker 1: it was the Undertaker had at WrestleMania then then a
- 29:46Speaker 1: career match, and they did it all on one shot,
- 29:49Speaker 1: which ironically was enough. Was the very first WRESTLEMANI we
- 29:52Speaker 1: ever covered here on the history of the So Real
- 29:54Speaker 1: Ties show. So really intriguing stuff. Interested to see where
- 29:57Speaker 1: the build goes and I like the lines of reality
- 30:01Speaker 1: being blurred a little bit here and we'll see if
- 30:03Speaker 1: they can continue forward with that with the creative in
- 30:06Speaker 1: over the next couple of weeks. Heading into this match,
- 30:09Speaker 1: so Swerve, Strickland, Brian Daniels, and AW All in career
- 30:11Speaker 1: versus title match. A lot of good buzz around AW
- 30:15Speaker 1: this week as we're going into a show preview and
- 30:18Speaker 1: predicting w SummerSlam, and the first two topics at the
- 30:21Speaker 1: top of the show is stuff that is going on
- 30:23Speaker 1: and buzz going on with AW and that's what you want.
- 30:25Speaker 1: You want good buzz. You don't want bad buzz You
- 30:27Speaker 1: want good buzs switching to WWE Doctor Trey. There's a
- 30:31Speaker 1: report out there, according to a press release that was
- 30:36Speaker 1: released by the London government, and this comes to us
- 30:38Speaker 1: from Wrestling Inc. That w officials were in London last
- 30:41Speaker 1: week meeting with them in regards to bringing WrestleMania to
- 30:46Speaker 1: the European capital in the near future. And as revealed
- 30:50Speaker 1: in this press release issued by the London Government, the
- 30:53Speaker 1: Mayor of London, Sadik Khan, met with w President Nick
- 30:56Speaker 1: Cohn a lot of cons here on this episode of
- 30:58Speaker 1: s R to You w Chief Content Officer Paul Triple
- 31:01Speaker 1: h Levec on Thursday, with the intent of discussing the
- 31:04Speaker 1: possibility of bringing a future wrestlminging event to England's capital
- 31:07Speaker 1: city of London. For Conn, this marked an opportunity to
- 31:10Speaker 1: make progress in his mission to perform to platform more
- 31:14Speaker 1: North American international sports in London. Did you sneeze, doctor try?
- 31:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sorry. I was trying to hit my mute button.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Couldn't get to it.
- 31:20Speaker 1: No, No, God bless you that that dound like a
- 31:22Speaker 1: bad sneeze. Get those allergies checked out, saying quote, London
- 31:26Speaker 1: is a great pedigree and hosting the biggest international sporting
- 31:29Speaker 1: events from around the globe. And I'm determined to cement
- 31:31Speaker 1: our city's reputation as the undisputed sports capital the world
- 31:34Speaker 1: as we work together for a better London for everyone,
- 31:36Speaker 1: said TV. It's exciting to be working with the weteam.
- 31:39Speaker 1: The meeting was very was really productive and talks will
- 31:41Speaker 1: continue about how we could turn our ambition into reality.
- 31:45Speaker 1: As pointing out by the VAC, WWE in London every
- 31:47Speaker 1: long and successful history that dates back several decades, including
- 31:50Speaker 1: nineteen ninety two SummerSlam pl which had emanated from the
- 31:53Speaker 1: world famous Wembly Stadium. As of twenty twenty four, though
- 31:56Speaker 1: w has yet to take its granded stage outside of
- 31:58Speaker 1: North America, something that that sixteen times world champion John
- 32:01Speaker 1: Cena previously campaigned had change my specifically bringing it to
- 32:04Speaker 1: the prosperous city of London. During W Money in the
- 32:08Speaker 1: Bank twenty twenty three. Coming out of w's meeting, Nick
- 32:13Speaker 1: Cohn indicated that further talks were needed, but so far
- 32:16Speaker 1: they appear to be promising to Decon and his team
- 32:18Speaker 1: are working harder positioning London as a sport and entertainment
- 32:21Speaker 1: capital of Europe, and it has been great to hear
- 32:23Speaker 1: more on his vision for how w can support them
- 32:25Speaker 1: on that journey. Nick Kahn said, so, doctor Trey Twofold here,
- 32:30Speaker 1: One do you want to see WrestleMania out of North
- 32:33Speaker 1: America and over into Europe? And two is London the
- 32:38Speaker 1: right spot to have the very first WrestleMania off us soil?
- 32:43Speaker 1: So excuse me, North American soil.
- 32:45Speaker 3: For me personally, to have it in London would be
- 32:47Speaker 3: fine because most WrestleManias are outside my budget, so I
- 32:52Speaker 3: can't really get to most WrestleManias, and you know, doing
- 32:57Speaker 3: one in London, for me, the visual would be spectacular.
- 33:00Speaker 2: London's a beautiful, beautiful city.
- 33:03Speaker 3: I am a little surprised that we're you know, we're
- 33:05Speaker 3: coming up, we're coming up on you know, WrestleMania forty one,
- 33:07Speaker 3: and we've never even done one in Canada, you know,
- 33:11Speaker 3: for that for that regard, So what.
- 33:13Speaker 1: We did we did Toronto, Toronto WrestleMania six and eighteen.
- 33:17Speaker 3: So nothing outside of North America. So it is a
- 33:19Speaker 3: little surprising that they haven't made this move yet. But
- 33:24Speaker 3: I think London's a fantastic choice. We've seen how successful
- 33:27Speaker 3: it was in Wales. We've seen how successful ww's been
- 33:30Speaker 3: in France. We've seen how successful AAW has been in
- 33:33Speaker 3: Wembley Stadium. So it makes sense, especially if ww's trying
- 33:37Speaker 3: to counter I don't say counter program but counter business
- 33:42Speaker 3: AW by sticking at WrestleMania in London. Does that now
- 33:45Speaker 3: maybe diminish what an all in is when it's in London. Uh,
- 33:50Speaker 3: Not to mention, London is kind of like the backyard
- 33:54Speaker 3: of Tony and Shad Kahn's family. I mean they literally
- 33:58Speaker 3: own soccer teams there. They do the London football games
- 34:01Speaker 3: with the Jaguars there. The Jaguars have been rumored to
- 34:03Speaker 3: move to London before. It is one of those things
- 34:06Speaker 3: where's like, hey, it's good for business and in a
- 34:09Speaker 3: sense you can kind of stick it to AW by
- 34:12Speaker 3: working a deal out with London to bring WrestleMania there.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's a really intriguing proposition right now. I'm
- 34:19Speaker 1: excited for I think it should go to London. I
- 34:21Speaker 1: think that crowded London is going to be off the
- 34:24Speaker 1: hook like one of the best WrestleMania crowds of all time.
- 34:27Speaker 1: It's something that we typically see from the European crowds
- 34:31Speaker 1: when they go over there, they hijack the show and
- 34:34Speaker 1: you're like, man, the European crowds got it, they bring it,
- 34:36Speaker 1: and to get those soccer hooligans, football hooligans cheering on
- 34:41Speaker 1: for some wrestling, cheering on for some WrestleMania, they are
- 34:44Speaker 1: going to be hype, they are going to be excited.
- 34:46Speaker 1: There was a great crowded aw all in last year
- 34:48Speaker 1: and it's because of all the excitements around in it.
- 34:51Speaker 1: And maybe this is another fu back from WE to AW.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Like if AW was able to do eighty three eighty
- 34:58Speaker 1: four thousand for all in wwe may try to do
- 35:01Speaker 1: more than that and go to Wembley Stadium and outdo
- 35:05Speaker 1: them even more. So it's a really intriguing business proposition,
- 35:10Speaker 1: which there's been plenty of these discussed on this week's
- 35:12Speaker 1: edition of SRTU. And I really hope it comes to
- 35:14Speaker 1: Frussian because I think the London crowd deserves it, they
- 35:17Speaker 1: want it, and I think it would be a really
- 35:19Speaker 1: really awesome experience and it would be a wrestlemanting that
- 35:21Speaker 1: would be daytime. So I'm here for I think like
- 35:24Speaker 1: a noontime WrestleMania. Sign me up and we am not
- 35:27Speaker 1: like dead tired for the rest of the absolute weekend.
- 35:31Speaker 1: It goes on because Wrestlemantia Weekend, as we all know,
- 35:33Speaker 1: is an absolute grind my friends. With that said, let's
- 35:37Speaker 1: shift gears, Doctor Trey and preview and predict WWE Summer Slam.
- 35:42Speaker 1: It comes to us this Saturday from Cleveland Brown Stadium
- 35:44Speaker 1: in Cleveland, Ohio. It is the formerly known as Biggest
- 35:48Speaker 1: Party the Summer. I don't know if they're still using
- 35:50Speaker 1: that tagline to promote Summer Slam this year. Nonetheless, let's
- 35:53Speaker 1: get into it. The hometown boy, one of the hometown boys,
- 35:57Speaker 1: is the miss He's hosting it. The other hometown boy,
- 36:00Speaker 1: Logan Paul, is defending the w United States Championship against
- 36:03Speaker 1: La Night Doctor Trey. I have a tough time calling
- 36:06Speaker 1: this one, but I think Logan retains in the hometown.
- 36:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Logan Paul.
- 36:11Speaker 2: See.
- 36:11Speaker 3: This is when this has been tricky for me because,
- 36:13Speaker 3: you know, with Cody being on SmackDown full time and.
- 36:17Speaker 2: Seeing the world title.
- 36:18Speaker 3: Usually if this was Roman in charge, I jump on
- 36:20Speaker 3: the La Night train because that whether the US title
- 36:22Speaker 3: be featured more, Uh, you kind of have I don't
- 36:25Speaker 3: want say I don't want to call Logan Paul a
- 36:26Speaker 3: part time champion, made me a three quarter champion.
- 36:31Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna take La Knight.
- 36:32Speaker 3: I know it's it's Logan's hometown, but I think I'm
- 36:34Speaker 3: gonna take La nine just because I mean, the dudes
- 36:37Speaker 3: kind of do like it's it's been He's had a
- 36:40Speaker 3: year and a half run without a title, and he's
- 36:42Speaker 3: been maybe one of the hottest acts in the company
- 36:43Speaker 3: during that time. If you don't pull the trigger now,
- 36:46Speaker 3: I don't know if you ever pulled the trigger with
- 36:47Speaker 3: La Knight.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Interesting. Interesting, So you go in La Night. I am
- 36:51Speaker 1: going Logan Paul. Next match, sure, Doctor Trey is for
- 36:54Speaker 1: the Intercontinental Championship as Sammy z Aan defense against bron Breaker.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Who do you like in this one?
- 37:00Speaker 3: I'm going to old school here. I'm going off what
- 37:02Speaker 3: I saw on Raw, which is Samy had the upper hand.
- 37:04Speaker 3: So I'm gonna take bron Breaker at SummerSlam.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna take the same like logic that you
- 37:09Speaker 1: have with La Knight winning the United States Championship, and
- 37:12Speaker 1: it's the same way I feel about the Intercontinental title.
- 37:14Speaker 1: So I think if you're gonna pull the trigger, you
- 37:18Speaker 1: pull it now and he has so much upside. A
- 37:21Speaker 1: ton of poise and opportunity awaits the career of bron Breaker.
- 37:27Speaker 1: He took the l the month before. I think now
- 37:29Speaker 1: is the time to put the title on him. So
- 37:31Speaker 1: I'm gonna take bron Breaker to win the Intercontinentald Championship
- 37:33Speaker 1: as well. Next match is Bailey defending the WA Women's
- 37:37Speaker 1: Championship against Naya Jacks. This is another tough one to call,
- 37:40Speaker 1: Doctor Trey, because there's the Tiffany Stratton element that is
- 37:43Speaker 1: hanging above this entire thing. I'm gonna take Bailey to
- 37:48Speaker 1: win the WA Women's Championship. Pardon me wants to add
- 37:52Speaker 1: I think Tiffany Stratton comes down and cashes in and
- 37:55Speaker 1: leaves SummerSlam with the title, which then leads to issues
- 37:58Speaker 1: between her and Naya Jacks. But if they do that,
- 38:01Speaker 1: then my creative complaint for their creative would be I
- 38:06Speaker 1: wish they built up their relationship and friendship a little
- 38:08Speaker 1: bit more, so I'd like to see that play out.
- 38:10Speaker 1: I'll tad bit more, but I'm gonna take Bailey to
- 38:13Speaker 1: retain the title.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:15Speaker 3: I've kind of gone back and forth because like, I
- 38:17Speaker 3: don't know about you I've really been a fan of
- 38:20Speaker 3: Naya over the last like six months. I agree, and
- 38:23Speaker 3: like she's been really really good. Her in ring work's
- 38:26Speaker 3: gotten better. We don't have nearly as many of the
- 38:29Speaker 3: accidents as she had before. The Bailey run hasn't been great,
- 38:33Speaker 3: so it really wants me to pick Naya, But I
- 38:36Speaker 3: like your logic. I think I'm gonna take Bailey to
- 38:38Speaker 3: retain because the storyline I think needs a little more
- 38:42Speaker 3: depth between Tiffany and Naya to really flush it out.
- 38:45Speaker 2: So I'm gonna take Bailey retaining as well.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Next match here is Live Morgan defending the Women's World
- 38:50Speaker 1: Championship against Rhea Ripley. Another tough one to call, Doctor Trey,
- 38:54Speaker 1: Who do you like in this one?
- 38:56Speaker 2: It's the Dominic mysterio factor.
- 38:58Speaker 3: I don't know where Dominic's allegiance lies at this point,
- 39:03Speaker 3: Like I know has been played up that he's back
- 39:05Speaker 3: with Mommy, but you know this could be a big,
- 39:07Speaker 3: big screw job and really make an even more hated
- 39:11Speaker 3: is if he screws over Rhea and kind of either
- 39:14Speaker 3: leaves the judgment day or takes Carlito with him and
- 39:17Speaker 3: they do their own thing. I'm gonna take Live sneaking
- 39:20Speaker 3: out in the victory and retaining right now, and just
- 39:22Speaker 3: because I want to create more depth in this whole things,
- 39:25Speaker 3: so I'm gonna take Live retaining the title.
- 39:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Live Morgan retaining the championship as well.
- 39:29Speaker 1: And I feel like either the Live Morgan rear Ripley
- 39:32Speaker 1: match or the Damien Priest Gunther match. One of those
- 39:35Speaker 1: matches I feel like right now is it either opens
- 39:38Speaker 1: Summer Slam or it's like one of the first two
- 39:40Speaker 1: matches at SummerSlam, and I think there's some sort of
- 39:43Speaker 1: screw job in either one of those. In both those matches,
- 39:46Speaker 1: I'll say I think there's a screw job in this one.
- 39:49Speaker 1: I think Dominic Masterio turns on rear Ripley. The best
- 39:52Speaker 1: way I can describe this for longtime wrestling fans is
- 39:56Speaker 1: the feeling I have for this one is the WrestleMania
- 39:59Speaker 1: fifteen storyline where I think China turned on Cain and
- 40:07Speaker 1: reunited with Triple H after turning her back on DX
- 40:11Speaker 1: and Triple H. And then later in the night, XPOC
- 40:14Speaker 1: had some sort of match against Seane McMahon and China
- 40:19Speaker 1: and Triple H helped Sea McMahon defeat x PAC and
- 40:23Speaker 1: they join the corporation. So there's like this period of
- 40:25Speaker 1: time where it felt like maybe China was back with
- 40:29Speaker 1: d X and I may have this all turned around.
- 40:32Speaker 2: No, you're pretty close. You're pretty close on this.
- 40:34Speaker 1: I remember this, so you remember that story, and it
- 40:36Speaker 1: was a really unique storyline that played out during a
- 40:38Speaker 1: pay per view, and I think that this we something
- 40:41Speaker 1: see similar, see something similar to this at SummerSlam where
- 40:45Speaker 1: Ria either get screwed first, Damien gets screwed first, and
- 40:49Speaker 1: then later in the show you've got like this huge,
- 40:52Speaker 1: one big screw job and then you've got Damien rid
- 40:54Speaker 1: Ripley on their own island coming out of SummerSlam starting
- 40:57Speaker 1: on Monday Night Raw. So I'm spoiling what I have
- 41:00Speaker 1: for my thoughts on Damien Priest. But nonetheless, like Doctor Trey,
- 41:04Speaker 1: I have Lived Morgan retaining the Women's World Championship as well.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Next match here, Doctor Trey, I guess, let's get to it.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Damian Priest defends the World of Weight Championship against Gunther.
- 41:14Speaker 1: I'll go first. I already kind of shared my opinion
- 41:16Speaker 1: on this one. I think Gunther wins the World Heavyweight
- 41:19Speaker 1: Championship heading into Bash of Berlin and there's some sort
- 41:22Speaker 1: of screw job against Damien Priest.
- 41:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I that was kind of my thought process as well,
- 41:28Speaker 3: because if you look at it, Judgment Day as a
- 41:30Speaker 3: group is a heel faction. You've seen Finn, You've seen
- 41:33Speaker 3: with j D McDonough, Carlito Dominic, but Damian Priest and
- 41:39Speaker 3: Rhea are booked as babyfaces. So what you were saying earlier,
- 41:43Speaker 3: I had the same thoughts. One of the things when
- 41:44Speaker 3: my clues was on Raw, how Gunther kind of put
- 41:48Speaker 3: over his admiration for Finn Balor as well heading into
- 41:52Speaker 3: that match.
- 41:53Speaker 2: So I'm went, I'm taking guntherer.
- 41:55Speaker 3: To win and some kind of Finn Balor or Finn
- 41:58Speaker 3: Balor lived Morgan, Dominic, Carlito, j D mcdonne' screw job
- 42:02Speaker 3: to basically excommunicate Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley from the
- 42:06Speaker 3: Judgment Day.
- 42:07Speaker 1: So they go, both of us going on some sort
- 42:09Speaker 1: of screw job. I think, if you're gonna do this,
- 42:11Speaker 1: it has to happen in SummerSlam, and you have to
- 42:13Speaker 1: have something memorable at a memorable show. You can't save
- 42:15Speaker 1: it for like Bash of Berlin or anything else after that.
- 42:17Speaker 1: So i think it's happened in SummerSlam. Next match here,
- 42:21Speaker 1: I'm really stoked for this one. Cmpunk versus Drew McIntyre
- 42:23Speaker 1: with Seth Freakin Rollins. It's a special guest referee. Obviously,
- 42:26Speaker 1: everybody's getting Sumerslam ninety seven vibes with Brett Hart versus
- 42:29Speaker 1: Undertaken with Sean Michaels as the referee in that one.
- 42:33Speaker 1: This is gonna be an exciting one, Doctor Trey. This
- 42:35Speaker 1: is arguably, at least in my opinion, we's few of
- 42:38Speaker 1: the years so far and they have not even wrestled
- 42:41Speaker 1: one single match, Doctor Trey, Who do you like in
- 42:43Speaker 1: this one? Cmpunk versus Drew McIntyre.
- 42:46Speaker 3: See, it was weird because up until Monday, I was
- 42:49Speaker 3: like all on the Drew McIntire trade, but then they
- 42:51Speaker 3: referenced SummerSlam ninety seven during raw and I'm like, man,
- 42:56Speaker 3: they can't do the same exact finish, so that kind
- 42:59Speaker 3: of screws it up. Do you have Drew Louse, who
- 43:02Speaker 3: really hasn't won a big match in a while. Do
- 43:04Speaker 3: you have Punk lose his first in ring singles match back, Like,
- 43:10Speaker 3: this was really really hard for me. I'm gonna take
- 43:13Speaker 3: Drew getting the win, just because I think Drew needs
- 43:16Speaker 3: it more than Punk, and then this can set up
- 43:19Speaker 3: Punk and Rollins to go off on their own thing.
- 43:23Speaker 2: So I'm gonna take Drew getting the win here at SummerSlam.
- 43:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I like you, Doctor Trey. Drew McIntyre getting the
- 43:29Speaker 1: victory as well. I think maybe Seampunk spoiled this match.
- 43:34Speaker 1: In an interviewer I read, he was asked about his
- 43:37Speaker 1: feud with Drew mcatyre and he said it's been like
- 43:39Speaker 1: good or whatever. He's enjoyed it, but he's he's won
- 43:43Speaker 1: and done after SummerSlam and he wants to move on
- 43:46Speaker 1: to something else. I don't think that was in like
- 43:48Speaker 1: a character thing. I think that was like legitimately how
- 43:50Speaker 1: he felt, which is a shame because this field has
- 43:53Speaker 1: been brilliant and they haven't wrestled one single match. So
- 43:56Speaker 1: once I saw that, I was like, all right, Seth
- 43:57Speaker 1: Freaking's Rollins is causing seam Punk the match, and Drew
- 44:02Speaker 1: mcatyre gets a victory, and then we see Drew McIntyre.
- 44:04Speaker 1: Maybe he goes off to Bash of Berlin to take
- 44:07Speaker 1: on count for the World Away Championship, and then Seampunk
- 44:10Speaker 1: versus Seth Freaking Rowlinds, which is the match we thought
- 44:12Speaker 1: was going to be getting taking place at Wrestlemanda forty
- 44:14Speaker 1: now gets built up for however long. Maybe it's immediate,
- 44:18Speaker 1: Maybe it's at the end of this month of Bascher Berlin.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Maybe it's held until Survivor series that was just announced
- 44:23Speaker 1: for Vancouver and November thirtieth. So both of us taking
- 44:26Speaker 1: Drew Mcatarre in this one, and both of us having
- 44:28Speaker 1: some sort of another screw job where Seth freaking Rowlins
- 44:31Speaker 1: costs Seampunk the match, and then that takes us to
- 44:33Speaker 1: the undisputed w Championship match. Doctor Trey's Cody Rhodes defends
- 44:37Speaker 1: against Solo Socoa. I will go first in this one.
- 44:41Speaker 1: I am gonna take Cody Rhoads to retain the undisputed
- 44:43Speaker 1: w WEE Championship. And I also have Roman Reigns making
- 44:48Speaker 1: his long waited return and a long weight it's only
- 44:51Speaker 1: been like four three or four months to WAI to
- 44:54Speaker 1: kick off his feud with the new blood line Solo,
- 44:58Speaker 1: so Coa's bloodline moving forward. So I've got Cody Roads
- 45:01Speaker 1: retaining Doctor Trey.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I have Cody retaining as well as much as
- 45:07Speaker 2: I like Solo.
- 45:08Speaker 3: I don't think he's world champion material, Like, I don't
- 45:12Speaker 3: think he's a world champion character yet, I still think
- 45:15Speaker 3: he's got a little bit to go, and I think
- 45:17Speaker 3: the return of Roman Reigns and him being featured in
- 45:19Speaker 3: his storyline with Old Bloodline New blood Line will help
- 45:23Speaker 3: elevate him to that level. This also goes into my
- 45:26Speaker 3: Sammy's name prediction as well, because all the talk of
- 45:28Speaker 3: Sammy on Monday Night about you know, his being able
- 45:32Speaker 3: to be in the ring with his dog jay Usso,
- 45:34Speaker 3: and jay Usso making the save against the Judgment Day
- 45:38Speaker 3: does kind of lead credence to Og Bloodline versus New Bloodline.
- 45:42Speaker 2: At some point. So I'm taking Cody retaining.
- 45:45Speaker 3: I think Roman makes the save to close out the
- 45:48Speaker 3: show when the New blood Line is beating down Cody
- 45:51Speaker 3: and Roman makes the saves.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Doctor Trey who main events SummerSlam. I'm gonna go Cody
- 45:57Speaker 1: and solo.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:59Speaker 3: I mean, if it wasn't like if you took Roman
- 46:01Speaker 3: out of the equation, I would I would have probably
- 46:03Speaker 3: given it to Drew and Seth. But if you're gonna
- 46:06Speaker 3: have Roman Reigns and that save may not be him
- 46:09Speaker 3: actually physically interacting with Solo, but more just making the
- 46:14Speaker 3: appearance and the bloodline backing down. But if you're having
- 46:17Speaker 3: Roman appear on the show, then Cody and Solo got
- 46:19Speaker 3: to close out the show.
- 46:20Speaker 1: Yeah. I think Roman is appearing and I think they
- 46:22Speaker 1: close it out. And if they open up the show,
- 46:24Speaker 1: Roman's not appearing. I can't say that being something that
- 46:27Speaker 1: opens up the show like Roman's back and people are buzzing.
- 46:30Speaker 1: If they are the main event, then get ready to
- 46:32Speaker 1: put your ones up because the tribal chief is making
- 46:35Speaker 1: his return to w W. There are four legit matches
- 46:38Speaker 1: that you could argue should be in the main event
- 46:40Speaker 1: spot Live Morgan, Ria, Ripley, Punk and Drew with Seth
- 46:43Speaker 1: as the referee, Priest Gunther, and Cody and Solo. But
- 46:47Speaker 1: both of us are in agreement here. That'll be Cody
- 46:49Speaker 1: and Solo closing out the show on Saturday night. So
- 46:52Speaker 1: there you go. W SummerSlam preview predictions in the books.
