- 1:24Israel. Lord, I pray for the peace of
- 1:28Jerusalem. Father, I pray for all the
- 1:32ethnic Jews, Lord, to come into the fold and the saving
- 1:35knowledge of Jesus Christ the Messiah.

- 1:42holy Scriptures. Lord, we worship you, the God of
- 1:46Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and Lord will your lay down lovers
- 1:53help us to finish this race well show up today.
- 1:57God Almighty, I pray as we read your words that your words will
- 2:02saturate us. Let them become part of who we
- 2:07are in the way that we see everything happening all around
- 2:11us. God, I pray that you'll heal
- 2:15diseases today. I pray that the lame God will
- 2:20walk again. God, I pray you'll regrow limbs,
- 2:23Lord, and heal heart disease. And God, I pray that you will
- 2:27heal cancer today, God. Heal diabetes today.
- 2:33God, take away dementia and Alzheimer's, Father.
- 2:37God, take away childhood cancers, Lord, in the mighty
- 2:41name of Jesus, God, heal prostates today.
- 2:46God, I pray in the name of Jesus that you will heal breast cancer
- 2:52today, Father, in the name of Jesus, God, I pray that you'll
- 2:57heal and reverse kidney disease. God, I pray, Lord, you'll heal
- 3:04colon cancer today, God. In the name of Jesus, I pray
- 3:10Lord, that we can touch the hem of your garment and be healed
- 3:15today. In the mighty name of Jesus
- 3:18Christ. Let the Shadow Fall upon us,
- 3:21Lord, and be healed, God, as we touch the handkerchiefs, God, I
- 3:25pray in the name of Jesus, Lord, we don't desire silver or gold.
- 3:32We only desire the true word of God in our lives, Jesus our
- 3:39Master, Jesus our Lord. I deny Maranatha Elroy in Jesus
- 3:50Christ holy and precious name I pray, Amen.
- 3:56Well, let's start in verse one. Let us therefore fear, unless a
- 4:04promise being left us, of entering into his rest, any of
- 4:10you should seem to come short of it.
- 4:13This is the idea of a runner who finishes second place.
- 4:19We are called to finish strong. We are called to not fall short,
- 4:25friends. We are called to run all the way
- 4:29to the end. We don't need to fail to enter
- 4:34into the rest that he has for us, and that rest is in Christ
- 4:40Jesus. We don't need to just approach
- 4:42God from an intellectual standpoint.
- 4:45We don't need to know enough about God to be able to teach
- 4:49it. We don't need academia, friends.
- 4:54We need for Him to touch our heart.
- 4:58We need for Him to give us a new heart and a new mind.
- 5:04We need the regeneration and the rebirth.
- 5:07Friends, we don't need enough of Jesus just to not have to go to
- 5:13hell. We need Jesus enough to finish
- 5:17this race. Well, two, for unto us was the
- 5:22gospel preached, as well as unto them, but the word preached did
- 5:29not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard
- 5:35it. It's not enough, friends, just
- 5:37to hear the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 5:41It's not enough just to have an emotional response.
- 5:45This is the person who received it into shallow soil.
- 5:51This is the person who received it joyfully, but the bird came
- 5:56and snatched it. This is the people who received
- 5:59it. But the tears came up and choked
- 6:02out all of the fruitfulness. Friends, these are the ones who
- 6:06were at the door. They heard the good news, but
- 6:09they failed to attain to the saving knowledge of the Lord
- 6:14Jesus Christ in the Lord Jesus Christ alone. 3 For we which
- 6:22have believed do enter into rest, as he said, as I have
- 6:29sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest.
- 6:35Although the works were finished from the foundation of the
- 6:39world, God has predestined and chosen us before the foundation
- 6:44of the earth. He's the Alpha and the Omega and
- 6:47He knows who belongs to him and He's bringing them in for, For
- 6:55He spoke in a certain place of the 7th day on this way, and God
- 7:01did rest the 7th day from all his works.
- 7:05He's called us into the rest. He has prepared the rest, just
- 7:10like He prepared the promised land for them to go into.
- 7:14But there were many who were at the gates, and they failed to
- 7:18enter into that promised land. There are many who hear the good
- 7:21news, but they fail to accurately place their faith in
- 7:27the Lord Jesus Christ and enter into his rest. 5 And in this
- 7:41place again, if they shall enter into my rest. 6 Seeing,
- 7:48therefore, it remains that some must enter in it, and they to
- 7:54whom it was first preached entered not in because of
- 7:58unbelief. So whether the people came in or
- 8:02not, it did not change the fact that the place of rest had been
- 8:06prepared. So that is what the writer of
- 8:10Hebrews wants us to know, that the place is prepared and it is
- 8:16set and it is secure, but we must choose to come into it, and
- 8:23that is free will, friends. So you can see these two
- 8:29opposite ends of the spectrum that we do not need to fall off
- 8:33either side of the Cliff on. It is free will, but he already
- 8:38knows who's going to be there. 7 Again he limits a certain day,
- 8:49saying in David today after so long a time, as it is said
- 8:56today, if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
- 9:02Time and time and time again, the writer of Hebrews has
- 9:07brought us to today. We don't need to be people who
- 9:14are so wrapped up in yesterday's wins or losses, and we don't
- 9:21need to be those who are so incredibly worried about
- 9:26tomorrow. Today is all that we have.
- 9:31It is a gift, it is a present, and today is the day of
- 9:38salvation. Place your faith in the Lord
- 9:42Jesus Christ today and it is not a question of can you tell me
- 9:48when or have you ever and it is definitely not.
- 9:54I will wait for a more convenient time.
- 9:58The question is, are you now following after the Lord Jesus
- 10:05Christ? And you will experience that
- 10:10rest. Do not harden your hearts, do
- 10:17not sear your consciences. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit,
- 10:22Friends. 8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he
- 10:28not afterward have spoken of another day?
- 10:33There are many who were right outside the gates.
- 10:35A three-week journey took 40 years, friends.
- 10:42And that is the irony that there are many who are right at the
- 10:48gates, but they refused to come in nine.
- 10:52There remains there for a rest. To the people of God.
- 10:56I pray that you've entered into that rest.
- 10:59Just as Noah, his three sons, and their wives had to enter
- 11:04into the boat to be saved, we must enter into Jesus Christ to
- 11:11be saved. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also
- 11:18has ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
- 11:22So Jesus Christ seated at the right hand of God, waiting on
- 11:26the perfect time to make his enemy a footstool. 11 Let us
- 11:33labor, therefore, to enter into that rest, lest any man fall
- 11:38after the same example of unbelief.
- 11:41That's the key, this unbelief. Increase your faith, increase
- 11:48your belief. Friends, do not be like the
- 11:51Father who says I believe, but help my unbelief.
- 11:54We have full confidence that Jesus Christ is enough.
- 12:01He's enough to save us, and He's enough to bring us in to that
- 12:07rest. 12 For the Word of God is quick and powerful, sharper than
- 12:17any 2 edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul
- 12:23and spirit, and of the joints of marrow, and is a discerner of
- 12:28the thoughts and intents of the heart.
- 12:32What an amazing verse in God's Word.
- 12:35We can see that the Word of God is alive and active, friends,
- 12:39and is sharper than any 2 edged sword.
- 12:42And you can see this point that pierces us on the sword, and
- 12:46that is the work of God. He is able to be profitable for
- 12:53our outward life and he's able to be profitable to the inward
- 12:58life of a believer. He's able to deal with all the
- 13:04external things that are happening in your life, and He's
- 13:07able to deal with all the internal things that you're
- 13:11trying to wrestle with inside of your own mind and heart and
- 13:15inside of your own body. Friends, this is the God that we
- 13:20serve. He can Pierce us in the deepest
- 13:23parts of our life that no man could ever reach.
- 13:28And it falls on the right place at the right time, and it breaks
- 13:32a man. And that is the only thing that
- 13:36could ever reach somebody is God's Word, and it is
- 13:40profitable, and it goes out to the ends of the earth, and it
- 13:44saves to the utmost, friends. And I pray that that is your
- 13:48story, and no man could ever get the credit for it.
- 13:52It is God's Word that is alive and active, and it is powerful,
- 13:56and it is sharp, and it pierces, and he discerns our thoughts,
- 14:04and He knows the intents of our hearts.
- 14:06Nothing is hidden from God. He knows all of your selfish
- 14:11motives. He knows all of your thoughts
- 14:14and your intents. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not
- 14:21manifest in his sight, but all things are naked and open unto
- 14:27the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
- 14:31God sees everything. God knows everything.
- 14:35There's nothing done in the dark that is not as light to God.
- 14:40There is nothing whispered that God does not hear.
- 14:44There is nothing that we internalize and think in our own
- 14:47minds that God does not know about.
- 14:51He knows all. What an amazing thought.
- 14:55All of creation is laid bare. And don't think that God doesn't
- 14:58care about all the little things in your life.
- 15:02He's because He does. He's not too busy running the
- 15:07universe that He doesn't care about all the little prayers
- 15:12that you don't think are necessary, because He does.
- 15:18He cares about all of your little prayers.
- 15:21He cares about all of your thoughts.
- 15:24He cares about your emotions. He cares about your feelings.
- 15:28He cares, friends, He is so powerful and he is so good and
- 15:33he is so loving. 14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest
- 15:43that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us
- 15:49hold fast our profession. We don't need to shrink back.
- 15:54We don't need to give up. We don't need to slack off,
- 15:57friends, We must press on, and He will give us the endurance to
- 16:04finish if we will hold fast to our profession of faith in
- 16:09Christ Jesus and not allow this world to beat us down to the
- 16:15point where we give in and give up. 15 For we have not a high
- 16:23priest which cannot be touched with feelings of our
- 16:26infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are,
- 16:31yet without sin. Don't think that Jesus doesn't
- 16:34know what you're going through, because He does.
- 16:37He was able to bear it, friends. He was able to go through it and
- 16:41never gave in to sin, which was much harder than anything that
- 16:47we could ever go through. He went through it and did not
- 16:51give into it. And how many times do we fail
- 16:54and how many times do we give in to sin, friends?
- 16:58And he was sinless. We'll end on 16.
- 17:03Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that
- 17:08we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
- 17:15We don't deserve the mercy. We don't deserve the eternal
- 17:23life. We deserve Hell friends.
- 17:27And aren't you glad that you don't get what you deserve?
- 17:34That is the beauty of what Christ did for us is that if we
- 17:39will come to Him and we'll place our full faith in Him, then He
- 17:45is well pleased to impute to us His righteousness where we can
- 17:50stand before a holy Almighty God and not get what we deserve.
- 17:59We get what He deserves, which is eternal life forever in the
- 18:06presence of God. I pray that you look forward to
- 18:09that. I pray that you're not stuck in
- 18:12sin. I pray that you're not stuck in
- 18:15the sinful cycle. I pray that you're not kicked
- 18:19down. I pray that you are emboldened
- 18:22and have zeal for His house. I hope you've been blessed by
- 18:28this amazing chapter in God's Word.
- 18:31I know I sure have. I'm praying for every single one
- 18:35of you. I love you.
- 18:38See you back here tomorrow. God bless you.
