- 0:00Speaker 1: Chake, Tara, how are you? Thanks for holding?
- 0:02Speaker 2: Hey, yeah, I'm I'm doing okay. But I called in
- 0:06Speaker 2: cause I generally don't know what to do about my
- 0:09Speaker 2: best friend's new boyfriend. Basically, we've known this guy since
- 0:14Speaker 2: we were kids, and he used to bully me so
- 0:18Speaker 2: much when we were younger, and I'm like talking like
- 0:21Speaker 2: middle school super villain, like I this dude made fun
- 0:24Speaker 2: of my fangs, he made fun of my braces, he
- 0:27Speaker 2: made fun of like my clothing, like nothing, nothing was safe.
- 0:31Speaker 2: And I used to run track and once he was
- 0:34Speaker 2: there and he told me that I ran, Like what
- 0:37Speaker 2: do he say? He said, I ran like a divorced
- 0:39Speaker 2: aunt chasing a coupon.
- 0:42Speaker 3: And honestly, I've never recovered from that. That that stayed
- 0:46Speaker 3: with me. And I mean, like now he's like suddenly
- 0:49Speaker 3: showing up to girls' nights, he's holding flowers, he's calling
- 0:53Speaker 3: my best friend beautiful, like sir, like you used to
- 0:56Speaker 3: bully me so much, and like you used to throw
- 0:58Speaker 3: dodgeball at my head during Jim Like, I'm just trying
- 1:01Speaker 3: to be supportive, but every time she says, oh my god,
- 1:03Speaker 3: he's so sweet, I just feel like a war veteran
- 1:07Speaker 3: being gaslet Like it's just it's like disrespectful to me.
- 1:09Speaker 1: At this point, I think he liked you in middle school.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Has he acknowledged it a all, like, hey, sorry, I
- 1:14Speaker 2: was such a jerk back then. No, I don't. I
- 1:17Speaker 2: don't even think that he changed. And if he did
- 1:19Speaker 2: like me, he's really good at acting like it just
- 1:22Speaker 2: seemed like.
- 1:23Speaker 1: He hated me. It's funny.
- 1:25Speaker 4: So when you describe it, I feel like I'm seeing
- 1:26Speaker 4: a movie in my head and it's like this kid
- 1:28Speaker 4: with whatever you know, middle school kid tip. We all
- 1:31Speaker 4: know the middle school kids. You're all you are, We
- 1:33Speaker 4: were all one of them, and it's you're making fun
- 1:35Speaker 4: of people, you're having fun, and now he like shows up.
- 1:37Speaker 4: He's cooking up with your best friend. He's got abs,
- 1:41Speaker 4: he's bringing her flowers. He's good looking, he's like the
- 1:44Speaker 4: stud from off season or whatever it's called off campus.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Like it's just like this, like but when everyone when
- 1:50Speaker 4: you're a kid, you're goofy, but obviously you triggered you.
- 1:52Speaker 4: I mean I think the same sex bullies. Like for me,
- 1:55Speaker 4: when I think about the bullies I had grown up,
- 1:57Speaker 4: screw those guys, screw those guys.
- 2:00Speaker 1: But like the girl feels there was a.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Girl that no same sex. I said, well, the girl,
- 2:04Speaker 4: the girl that bullied me, she's way hot. Yeah right now, yeah,
- 2:09Speaker 4: I remember probably liked you too, Colle.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I remember she Yeah, I remember this Colleen girl. She
- 2:13Speaker 1: said some things to me.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Uh and I was like really embarrassed, and uh, now
- 2:17Speaker 4: I think she likes I think she liked me when
- 2:19Speaker 4: I think back, but you know what I mean, So
- 2:20Speaker 4: it's different.
- 2:22Speaker 1: But anyway, what are you gonna do. Your friend likes him?
- 2:24Speaker 1: Is he cute? Your friend likes him?
- 2:26Speaker 2: Okay, I'm not gonna like he's pretty cute. And like
- 2:29Speaker 2: when I was younger, like I did kind of like him,
- 2:31Speaker 2: but like every time he bullied me just felt like
- 2:33Speaker 2: a punch to the face. And like now I just
- 2:35Speaker 2: have to like see him three times a week and
- 2:38Speaker 2: it's it's a lot.
- 2:39Speaker 5: Maybe I should be the person to extend that all
- 2:42Speaker 5: of branch and be like, hey, you're dating my girl.
- 2:44Speaker 5: You're dating like one of my best friends. Now, so
- 2:47Speaker 5: whatever this was back then, like just you know, you
- 2:49Speaker 5: kind of hurt my feelings, but I hope that you
- 2:51Speaker 5: treat my girl right.
- 2:51Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 2:52Speaker 5: Or just clear the air, like oh, my god, you
- 2:54Speaker 5: remember when you act so me and all the time,
- 2:56Speaker 5: he remember the.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Joke of it.
- 2:58Speaker 4: I don't remember, or I'm so sorry, like he should be.
- 3:02Speaker 4: He's an adult now, he's probably you.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Know what I mean. I think I think, I think
- 3:07Speaker 1: I would think so because your best friend, I mean,
- 3:09Speaker 1: she's good people, right.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Yeah, she's a really good she's a really good friend.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I was so surprised when she started dating him.
- 3:15Speaker 4: She's all, you're not gonna believe this. I'm dating Ricky
- 3:17Speaker 4: brinker Off. That's the guy, one of the guys like
- 3:23Speaker 4: that was very specific, Ricky breaker Off. That's a bully
- 3:26Speaker 4: name Dennis Ganey, Dennis Kinney. I already died. I know
- 3:30Speaker 4: this guy, Dennis Ganey. You said beat me up all
- 3:33Speaker 4: the time. And I remember I'd come home crying and
- 3:35Speaker 4: I'd be so and my mom we were going my
- 3:37Speaker 4: mom made me go through to the grocery store with
- 3:38Speaker 4: my mom my sister, and we'd get in the car
- 3:41Speaker 4: and we're driving. We're in Chandler. We're driving and like
- 3:44Speaker 4: where we go the grocery store. She's like, we're gonna
- 3:46Speaker 4: go to Dennis Kinney's house. And I dropped down the
- 3:49Speaker 4: backseat of the car and I'd laid down on the
- 3:51Speaker 4: floor and I was crying, no, no, and my sister's like, eh,
- 3:57Speaker 4: they drove by his house. My mom drove by his house,
- 3:59Speaker 4: and I was so upset. No, she didn't go in,
- 4:02Speaker 4: but I was like, and he smelled so bad. And
- 4:05Speaker 4: then I overheard the football coach telling another football coach
- 4:09Speaker 4: that Dennis had some issues at home. And I remember
- 4:13Speaker 4: eavesdropping on that and I was kind of okay, but
- 4:15Speaker 4: still he was so meaningful.
- 4:17Speaker 1: He was so mean to me.
- 4:18Speaker 4: And then later on in life, you hear about bullies
- 4:20Speaker 4: that usually most bullies do have that problem at home.
- 4:23Speaker 1: And I got to tell you, eighth grade John Jay

- 4:32Speaker 4: talking about the guy that did that. We were at
- 4:36Speaker 4: the World Series. Rich and I at the World Series.
- 4:38Speaker 4: We're on the upper deck. I looked down and there's
- 4:40Speaker 4: a guy that I know. I don't want to say
- 4:41Speaker 4: his name because he passed away already and it's sad
- 4:43Speaker 4: and he was below and I go, I look, he
- 4:46Speaker 4: looks up me.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Does this deal like you know what? I mean, and
- 4:51Speaker 1: I was like yeah, And I was like I was
- 4:54Speaker 1: on the upper deck.
- 4:56Speaker 4: This guy's like five two, and John, I don't know,
- 4:59Speaker 4: just yes, you could squash it like a pop.
- 5:03Speaker 1: So two of the bullies died, one more to show,
- 5:06Speaker 1: just like m I A turns out you can't have
- 5:08Speaker 1: pissed off John Jay in middle school.
- 5:09Speaker 4: I'm coming after you. And then there's Brett Johnson. Brett
- 5:14Speaker 4: Johnson was the guy I think I told you guys.
- 5:15Speaker 4: I was sitting with them at a w Roupier and
- 5:16Speaker 4: Chandler and he says to me, Hey, no fence, but
- 5:19Speaker 4: is your dad fat like you?
- 5:20Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, Brett rude. T you got you didn't
- 5:25Speaker 1: have a bully, you had a crush. I'm the one trigger.
