- 0:00If you're thinking of starting a YouTube channel, here are three
- 0:02things that I wish somebody had told me when I started out.
- 0:06This month I finally reached 100,000 YouTube subscribers and
- 0:10and it wasn't good luck. It all came down to three things
- 0:13that I did that really led to this.
- 0:15So before you spend the months planning, researching and
- 0:18overthinking, here's the three biggest aha moments that I had
- 0:22that can completely change how you approach YouTube.
- 0:25My first aha moment is that clarity comes from creating and
- 0:30not through thinking. I have always been such a
- 0:33perfectionist and this was really holding me back at the
- 0:36start of my YouTube journey. Just like me and most aspiring
- 0:39creators believe they need to figure everything out before
- 0:42they start. So their niche, their brand,
- 0:45their content strategy, their ideal audience and have this
- 0:48crystal clear. But here's the problem, you
- 0:51can't think your way to clarity, you have to create your way to
- 0:54clarity. When I started my online
- 0:56business journey, I thought I needed the perfect plan before
- 0:59taking action. But what I discovered was that
- 1:01every time I took action, I learned something I could never
- 1:04have learned by sitting and thinking.
- 1:06The same is true for YouTube. So I want you to literally think
- 1:08of your 1st 20 videos as market research feedback data.
- 1:13They're helping you discover what you actually enjoy talking
- 1:16about and what your audience wants from you.
- 1:18If you look at the oldest videos of your favorite craters, you
- 1:21will see that they have probably changed their niche.
- 1:24They were super awkward. They didn't have their signature
- 1:26style. This came with time.
- 1:28So if you're waiting until you have clarity, know that clarity
- 1:31is not the prerequisite. It's the reward for taking
- 1:34action. Now, of course, you need to know
- 1:36some type of direction that you want to go with the content,
- 1:39like your rough idea of an audience that you want to reach,
- 1:43for example. In my case, it's spiritual
- 1:45people who want a soft life of freedom and spirituality.
- 1:49What is that? What is for you?
- 1:51And if you're not sure, I've created a free guide on how to
- 1:53find your purpose, your calling. I've linked it in the
- 1:55description. The second aha moment that I had
- 1:58is that your first videos don't matter as much as you think.
- 2:02I know this sounds strange, but it's incredibly freeing.
- 2:04Most people are terrified of posting because they're worried
- 2:07about what people will think. But the reality is, is that when
- 2:10you start, hardly anyone is watching anyway.
- 2:13And that's actually a good thing.
- 2:14You get to learn without the pressure.
- 2:16You get to make mistakes, improve without lots of people
- 2:20watching you. Imagine if when you were taking
- 2:22Driving's lessons, the millions of people were watching you.
- 2:25You wouldn't want that anyway, right?
- 2:27So remember this, the goal of your first videos isn't to go
- 2:30viral. It is to practice.
- 2:32The goal is to become the kind of creator who can eventually go
- 2:35viral. Every video teaches you
- 2:37something. How to speak more clearly, how
- 2:39to tell stories, write better titles, how to hold attention,
- 2:43communicate your ideas. And the creators who win are
- 2:45rarely the ones who start perfectly.
- 2:48They're the ones who stay consistent long enough to
- 2:50improve. And This is why I always talk on
- 2:52this channel about taking messy action.
- 2:54Whether it's towards starting a YouTube channel or whatever your
- 2:58purpose is, take messy action and you will learn along the
- 3:00way. Aha moment #3 is stop trying to
- 3:03be original and start being useful.
- 3:06And this is an easy trap to fall in because we're business
- 3:10owners, right? Youtubers.
- 3:11So you think, oh, I need to have this unique, original idea of a
- 3:15channel. But the truth is that will come
- 3:17with time. Trying to be unique too early
- 3:19often stops people from creating altogether.
- 3:21The fastest way to grow is to understand what people are
- 3:24already searching for. What questions are they asking?
- 3:27What problems are they trying to solve?
- 3:29What transformations do they want?
- 3:30One of my lessons from being a YouTube is that success leaves
- 3:34clues. Look at the biggest channels in
- 3:37your niche and then sort them. My most popular or use Vid IQ's
- 3:41free tool. So when you're scrolling YouTube
- 3:43videos, you can see how many subscribers they have and how
- 3:47many views the videos have. And if their video has more
- 3:49views than their subscriber count, it means that that video
- 3:52is an outlier. So that is a great video title.
- 3:55So write all this down, the titles that are resonating with
- 3:58the audience, the topics, and then create your own version.
- 4:01Just say your views on this topic.
- 4:03Because people don't subscribe only for information.
- 4:06They subscribe because they connect with the person
- 4:08delivering it. There are thousands of people
- 4:11teaching spirituality online, yet new creators continue
- 4:14growing every day. Why?
- 4:15Because someone out there will resonate with your way of
- 4:18explaining things more than anyone else.
- 4:21Your uniqueness isn't your topic, it's you.
- 4:24And in my signature program now at Freedom Academy, I tell you
- 4:27exactly how to turn your uniqueness into your personal
- 4:31brand. So we will look at things like
- 4:32your human design, your astrology, your experience.
- 4:36So if you want more clarity about your personal brand on
- 4:39YouTube and you want one-on-one coaching with me, then I would
- 4:42love to coach you. You can book a free client to
- 4:44call with our team. I've popped it in the
- 4:46description. We have a few more slots this
- 4:48week. If you remember only one thing
- 4:50from this video, it's that YouTube rewards action, not
- 4:54perfection and planning and overthinking action.
- 4:57So before you spend another month researching how to start a
- 5:00channel, challenge yourself to do one thing, record a video,
- 5:04upload it, and learn from it. Because the people who succeed
- 5:07on YouTube aren't the people who waited until they were ready.
- 5:10They're the people who started before they felt ready.
- 5:12You have so much wisdom to share with the world light worker and
- 5:16your soul tribe is waiting. So go out there and spread your
- 5:19light. Let me know your thoughts and if
- 5:21you want to learn how to actually monetize your YouTube
- 5:24channel, then check out my other video, Best Business Models for
