- 0:01Do you know what the problem is? And I really shouldn't say the
- 0:04problem, although there's a good handful of in society, people
- 0:12look at punishment, accountability and
- 0:15responsibility. It's like a where if you even
- 0:22dare try to hold somebody accountable and let's just say
- 0:26if you have like a child, right? If you have a child and you try
- 0:32and hold them accountable, people will essentially look at
- 0:36you as like a bad parent that they are essentially gonna call
- 0:43you every name. And you know in the book for
- 0:47trying to hold your own child accountable.
- 0:51And so parents are so hesitant to hold their kids accountable
- 0:57for even smallest thing. And I actually talked about
- 1:00this, you know, last week. Why is it that accountability is
- 1:14so final? Like why is it so hard to
- 1:21essentially enforce strict discipline, improper ways to go
- 1:27about it? Like have society really got to
- 1:31this point to where even doing the right thing as far as
- 1:36accountability is such a bad thing?
- 1:43Seriously. Unfortunately, you can't even do
- 1:57the right thing in life without essentially being criticized.
- 2:03I mean, I'm not even going to get into that.
- 2:07That'll be, you know, for potentially JJ unleashed
- 2:15tomorrow. So keep your eye on that.
- 2:27But the reality is these people have gone so out of reality,
- 2:34it's almost embarrassed. So let me get this straight.
- 2:38Not only do people not want to hold, you know anyone
- 2:45accountable nowadays because they feel as if you even try to
- 2:58that they will ultimately try the chastise those and criticize
- 3:12the ones who try to hold them accountable.
- 3:19But yet if you even dare try to do the right thing whole let's
- 3:24say your children accountable or they let them know that there
- 3:30are real consequences for your actions and that you can't even
- 3:40ground them by let's say you know, taking away the phone, TV
- 3:44privileges, whatever the hell it is.
- 3:47If you can't even do that, then what the hell do you think is
- 3:51going to happen when they get into a serious problem to where
- 3:59real consequences are going to take place and then everything
- 4:06is unwrap? I'm just saying it has to come
- 4:16to a point where holding your child or anybody accountable
- 4:22should not be viewed as a bad thing.
- 4:28So yet why are so many people, even those who claim to be
- 4:33quote, UN quote parents, why are they so, you know, reluctant to
- 4:42ultimately hold anyone accountable?
- 4:46Now, could it be because of, I don't know, something that they
- 4:52may have experienced as a kid and probably don't wanna have to
- 4:59go through the same thing with their child?
- 5:04You know, it's anybody's guess. Truth is, by not doing that,
- 5:12you're holding your child. You know, put it this way, you
- 5:19ultimately by essentially not wanting to hold your child
- 5:26accountable, or let's just say anyone for that matter, told
- 5:32them a sense of accountability. By not doing that, you
- 5:37ultimately or putting them at even more for risk to where they
- 5:53could potentially suffer lasting consequences.
- 6:00Now don't get me wrong, the child themselves has to hold
- 6:04themselves accountable for whatever they did, that is
- 6:07undeniable. But parents have to own up to
- 6:13their share as well. Because see, what ends up
- 6:16happening is that they always say, well, if it would have
- 6:24happened, where did I go wrong in the whole process or where
- 6:30did I essentially screw up to where I made a mistake with my
- 6:37child and what could I have done?
- 6:41See it's always in the aftermath that they think about it, but
- 6:47never in the immediate to where they wanna hold their child
- 6:56account. So in the end, anybody that
- 7:03tells you self accountability isn't a bad thing or is a bad
- 7:09thing that should be found upon, they'll lie to you.
- 7:16Because I'm wondering about those same people probably won't
- 7:18even hold accountable when they were kids themselves.
- 7:22So it's like, you see how that goes, that ultimately by not
- 7:33holding their own children accountable, they're doing
- 7:38themselves a major disservice by letting them get away with
- 7:44stuff, by getting away with stuff too easily to where they
- 7:56will give them every excuse to think, well, you know, it's OK,
- 8:03your parents got you back. I'm telling you right now, if I
- 8:10ever did some stupid things, my parents, notably my father, he
- 8:20would kick my ass if I did that 'cause I'm telling you, the lack
- 8:30of not having parentals, you know, quality ones, is why
- 8:36society as well as I right now. And you cannot tell me
- 8:39otherwise. Because let me ask you if you
- 8:46really think that parents nowadays have failed their
- 8:53children in more ways than one. You might be right.
- 9:00And you might also be right due to the fact that a good hand for
- 9:05them don't even wanna be real parents.
- 9:09Can we just be honest? Now again, is there going to be
- 9:20a rule that says it's a right way, even wrong way?
- 9:25A parent? Who knows?
- 9:28Again, there will never be an ideal way to parent, but that
- 9:35does not give you the excuse. Alternately to give your child
- 9:42free license tax. Stupid and then ultimately feel
- 9:50as if when they get in trouble get to answer the question where
- 9:56do I screw up or where do I go wrong by then it would be too
- 10:04late. So in the end, once again, if
- 10:08anybody tells you that punishment accountability is a
- 10:15bad thing, just straight up blind hold your children
- 10:23accountable. But more importantly, hold
- 10:26yourself accountable because in the end, it's also your life.
- 10:38But you have to also realize. You make one mistake and you're
- 10:57done for. You understand that part.
- 11:09So as much as you want to maybe blame the children you have for
- 11:13the mistakes, even blame yourself to in a large degree,
- 11:21you are just as responsible for your own life as they are.
