Chapter Two - Matthew Cuthbert is Surprised
In this chapter of Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery we accompany the quiet and kind-hearted Matthew Cuthbert as he sets off to collect an orphan boy—only to be met with a very unexpected surprise. This is our very first meeting with Anne Shirley, and it's a moment filled with charm, imagination, and the beginning of something truly special.
