- 2:27Speaker 3: Jeffrey Epstein's survivors today, as the House gets ready to

- 2:34Speaker 3: the investigation files. The President has now urged Republicans to
- 2:39Speaker 3: back the bill and says he will sign it if
- 2:41Speaker 3: it reaches him. Some Alexandria residents remain unhappy with the
- 2:46Speaker 3: sheriff's explanation for cooperating with ICE. Even after Sheriff Sean
- 2:51Speaker 3: Casey said he's required to honor ICE administrative warrants and
- 2:56Speaker 3: that his deputies do not assist with community in force,
- 3:00Speaker 3: many are still calling for another public hearing. Booz Allen

- 3:58Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the morning coming up next. How
- 4:01Speaker 2: you doing today? Okay, we're thinking about you very deeply
- 4:05Speaker 2: this morning. Okay, being very over dramatic, but your morning
- 4:09Speaker 2: mindset words we hope might inspire you to have a
- 4:12Speaker 2: better day or to start the day the right way.
- 4:15Speaker 2: On the way and just minutes stay with us every morning,
- 4:19Speaker 2: right around this time, we pause to take a second
- 4:23Speaker 2: to make sure we're all kind of in the right
- 4:25Speaker 2: head space.
- 4:26Speaker 3: We call this our morning mindset, and we try to
- 4:29Speaker 3: get you into that better headspace with a quote, and this.
- 4:32Speaker 4: One comes from Tim Tebow.
- 4:33Speaker 2: You might recognize the name if you're a fan of
- 4:35Speaker 2: college football, when the Heisman also played baseball. He says,
- 4:39Speaker 2: your worth doesn't come from what you do, from what
- 4:42Speaker 2: you've done, or what's been done to you. It comes
- 4:46Speaker 2: from who made you. Now, I know that there are
- 4:49Speaker 2: a lot of people who believe a lot of different
- 4:50Speaker 2: things about higher powers and stuff. Maybe there are some
- 4:53Speaker 2: people who don't. But the bottom line is, if you
- 4:56Speaker 2: think about your worth right and what it means to
- 5:00Speaker 2: have value, it doesn't come from what you do, although
- 5:05Speaker 2: that's important. Right pays the bills, doesn't come from what
- 5:09Speaker 2: you've done or what's been done to you. It comes
- 5:13Speaker 2: from something else. It comes from for some the person
- 5:17Speaker 2: who made you. For others, it could be whatever it
- 5:20Speaker 2: is that drives you. Tim Tebow with a thought this morning.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Hopefully it resonates with you. If you want it again,
- 5:27Speaker 2: head us up the Toby and Chilli page. You'll find it
- 5:29Speaker 2: at washefm dot com. And if you need some help
- 5:31Speaker 2: getting the house in order because you've got stuff, know
- 5:36Speaker 2: that you're not alone, because we have a lot of
- 5:38Speaker 2: stuff too here with Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Well, there's a thirty thirty rule that can help you
- 5:42Speaker 3: declutter and also save you a lot of money. We'll
- 5:45Speaker 3: share what that is in just a.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Few minutes, Toby and till you in the morning.
- 5:49Speaker 2: It is ninety seven point one wash CHEFM. It's a
- 5:52Speaker 2: thirty thirty rule that'll save your money, help you get
- 5:54Speaker 2: organized and declutter free chili. What did you find and
- 5:59Speaker 2: why will this help change our lives?
- 6:02Speaker 4: Well?
- 6:02Speaker 3: This new trend says when you ate thirty hours to
- 6:04Speaker 3: purchase anything over the price of thirty dollars, it goes
- 6:08Speaker 3: beyond that when you wait an entire thirty days before
- 6:12Speaker 3: committing to buying anything one hundred dollars. That thirty thirty
- 6:16Speaker 3: rule applies to online and brick and mortar shopping. So
- 6:20Speaker 3: thirty hours for anything over thirty dollars and thirty days
- 6:23Speaker 3: for anything over one hundred dollars.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Oh, is that even possible? We're impulsive. We're humans. We
- 6:29Speaker 2: have impulsive urges.
- 6:31Speaker 5: I know.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Walk through Tysons, either one galleria you go to the
- 6:35Speaker 2: other Tysons, the one with the other across the street,
- 6:38Speaker 2: and you just see things and you want them, or
- 6:40Speaker 2: you go into the dollar tree and you see things
- 6:42Speaker 2: and you want them.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Well, see the thirty dollars. It's easy at the dollar Tree.
- 6:46Speaker 3: You don't have to worry about that.
- 6:47Speaker 4: True.
- 6:47Speaker 3: I think this is asking us all to slow down
- 6:50Speaker 3: before we splurge. And for me, brick and mortar, it's
- 6:53Speaker 3: easy for me to walk away. It's the online that
- 6:56Speaker 3: I bink away.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Don't get me started.
- 6:58Speaker 2: You know what I did over the last two months,
- 7:00Speaker 2: a lot of amazoning.
- 7:02Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. You gotta wait, You gotta do
- 7:05Speaker 3: the thirty thirty rule because it means that you're being
- 7:07Speaker 3: more intentional, You're not just going out of control and spending.
- 7:11Speaker 4: Well, it sounds like a good idea and the theory.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Now I will say, maybe you should wait until after
- 7:17Speaker 3: Black Friday and Cyber Monday to implement said thirty thirty rule.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Well, you know, hey, well it's the thought that counts.
- 7:25Speaker 2: It's not supposed to be over thirty dollars the thirty
- 7:28Speaker 2: thirty rule. If you're captivated reading more the Toby and
- 7:31Speaker 2: Chilli page at washfm dot com, need the news, of
- 7:34Speaker 2: course you do gets covered coming up next. Some like

- 8:39Speaker 3: and reconstruction after months of conflict with Israel. Fairfax County
- 8:44Speaker 3: Police say that thieves used an ATM jackpotting scheme to
- 8:48Speaker 3: steal one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars from an

- 8:56Speaker 3: two suspects repeatedly opening the ATM overnight and ultimately causing
- 9:01Speaker 3: it to dispense cash. Rebuilding Baltimore's Key Bridge is going
- 9:05Speaker 3: to cost a lot more and take a lot longer
- 9:07Speaker 3: than first expected. Officials now estimate a price tag between
- 9:11Speaker 3: four and five billion dollars, which is more than double
- 9:16Speaker 3: the original amount, and they say that the bridge won't
- 9:19Speaker 3: reopen until late twenty thirty instead of twenty twenty eight.
- 9:23Speaker 3: A new March of Dimes report gives DC an f
- 9:27Speaker 3: for pre term berths, with rates far above the national
- 9:30Speaker 3: average and especially high among black mothers. Maryland and Virginia

- 9:39Speaker 3: to travel over the Thanksgiving holiday next week is early
- 9:42Speaker 3: in the morning, while the worst will be Tuesday and

- 10:19Speaker 4: Well, you threw me out of here?
- 10:20Speaker 3: Well I did on September the twelfth, I believe it was.
- 10:23Speaker 4: But there's a good reason why I got thrown out.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Yep, yep. We won't go into too many details. We
- 10:29Speaker 2: don't want to gross anybody out this morning. However, it's

- 10:53Speaker 3: Well, let's catch people up. You were here September twelfth,
- 10:56Speaker 3: that's the last time you were here, and you walked
- 10:58Speaker 3: in with a lot of pain and a knee that
- 10:59Speaker 3: you had had surgery on not too long before that.
- 11:03Speaker 4: Yep.
- 11:03Speaker 3: And make a very long story short, because you said
- 11:06Speaker 3: you weren't feeling well, I sent your butt home.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Yeah, turns out I had another infection, a second infection
- 11:13Speaker 2: in the same need and uh and as a result
- 11:16Speaker 2: of that infection. Who knows how long I had had it,
- 11:18Speaker 2: but I was basically starting to run down, feel sick,
- 11:23Speaker 2: had a fever. I went home and slept after we
- 11:28Speaker 2: after I said, you know, and then the next day
- 11:32Speaker 2: stuff was going on. My daughter got scared because I
- 11:35Speaker 2: let to be honest, I was not. I was not
- 11:38Speaker 2: in the right mind because I was sick, because things
- 11:41Speaker 2: were just like whatever. And next thing I know, she
- 11:45Speaker 2: calls nine to one one, which is a rule. I said, hey, listen,
- 11:47Speaker 2: if if anything ever goes wrong with me or you
- 11:51Speaker 2: do not pass, go nine to one one, get me to.
- 11:54Speaker 4: A cross, you know, to the hospital.

- 12:12Speaker 4: That was my weekend.
- 12:13Speaker 3: That that is the one that really took you out,
- 12:16Speaker 3: the second infection and having them clean out that infection
- 12:20Speaker 3: and where you are today, which is part two.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Well, yeah, the story. Yeah, so I've got my roll later,
- 12:27Speaker 2: don't make fun of me. You see me rolling? That's right,
- 12:30Speaker 2: I'm riding dirty.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Right, You got a new set of wheels down If

- 12:59Speaker 2: because I really don't want a replacement. No, no, because

- 18:15Speaker 2: have learned, but I want to focus on one specific
- 18:19Speaker 2: one that has nothing to do with an occupation.
- 18:24Speaker 4: What do I What do I mean? What am I
- 18:25Speaker 4: talking about? What kind of physical therapy am I?
- 18:28Speaker 2: Yes?
- 18:29Speaker 4: Wait till you hear this.
- 18:30Speaker 2: It's next at ninety seven point one wash FM, where

- 19:22Speaker 3: my goodness, thank you so and tell us the name
- 19:25Speaker 3: of the station that just made you a winner. Ninety
- 19:27Speaker 3: seven point one?
- 19:28Speaker 2: What so, Chilly?
- 19:31Speaker 4: Can I tell you?
- 19:32Speaker 2: Occupational therapy and physical therapy very interesting things. Physical therapy
- 19:38Speaker 2: is like getting a workout. Now, why am I talking
- 19:40Speaker 2: about therapy Toby and Chilly in the morning. It's ninety
- 19:43Speaker 2: seven point one, was chef, And it would be because.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Your knee had an infection in it after surgery and
- 19:48Speaker 3: they had to go back in and fix it. And
- 19:49Speaker 3: then you were an inpatient rehab then now outpatient. Occupational
- 19:55Speaker 3: therapy and physical therapist back to back.
- 19:57Speaker 2: But you know, let's go back to the beginning. When
- 19:59Speaker 2: I first got over to Adventist Rehab Hospital. Occupational therapy, Yeah,
- 20:06Speaker 2: nobody told me. The word occupational to me means a job. Yeah,
- 20:10Speaker 2: but it does not mean you are going to bathe me,
- 20:14Speaker 2: which is what happened in a shower over an Adventist.
- 20:19Speaker 2: And I was like, God, loved the nurse. Her name's Kadria.
- 20:21Speaker 2: She's amazing and uh and I think you guys, an
- 20:24Speaker 2: Adventist should give her a raise.
- 20:26Speaker 3: She's just trying to She is trying to make sure
- 20:28Speaker 3: that you could do these things on your own eventually.
- 20:32Speaker 4: Oh, and she was coaching me.
- 20:33Speaker 2: She was like, I'm glad she was around because she
- 20:36Speaker 2: was she was around it at very important times to
- 20:39Speaker 2: hear certain conversations. Of course, you're gonna hear lots of conversations.
- 20:42Speaker 2: In the shower. I'm like, cause I didn't know what
- 20:45Speaker 2: to do.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Did you get a shower certificate? Did you graduate that
- 20:48Speaker 3: you can bathe yourself?
- 20:49Speaker 2: Well, I mean I'm clean, I smell good ie patiental therapy, Well,
- 20:55Speaker 2: then it.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Is about work. It's about making sure you smell good
- 20:58Speaker 3: before you go to work.
- 21:00Speaker 4: No, no, and then you know, then I'm picking up
- 21:02Speaker 4: little toys.
- 21:02Speaker 2: But let me tell you, one of the best parts
- 21:04Speaker 2: about occupational therapy was getting to play catch with a
- 21:09Speaker 2: dog with a therapy dog, like a Golden Retriever named
- 21:13Speaker 2: Miss Molly.
- 21:14Speaker 4: She was amazing. More on that online.
- 21:17Speaker 2: But yeah, so my mobility is not back at one
- 21:19Speaker 2: hundred percent yet.
- 21:21Speaker 3: It's going to take time.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I'm showering alone, and I'm not using the bench anymore.
- 21:26Speaker 4: I'm standing.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they gave me a bench and then don't
- 21:30Speaker 2: get me started to occupational therapy, which has nothing to
- 21:33Speaker 2: do with the job. I didn't realize they were going
- 21:35Speaker 2: to try to teach me how to use the commode again.
- 21:38Speaker 4: I'm like, this is I was mind blown. Yeah, it
- 21:41Speaker 4: turned me a minute to recover.
- 21:43Speaker 2: It did. Toby and Chilly in the Morning. It's ninety
- 21:46Speaker 2: seven point one wash f M. If anybody's ever survived PT,
- 21:50Speaker 2: feel free to call OT. How come nobody tells you
- 21:53Speaker 2: that occupational therapy has nothing to do with the job.
- 21:56Speaker 4: Coming up in just a few.
- 21:57Speaker 3: Minutes, we're going to talk about how much the average
- 21:59Speaker 3: American will spend this Thanksgiving, and the amount may blow
- 22:04Speaker 3: your mind.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Yep, hold onto your wallets. That's on the way. Hold
- 22:07Speaker 2: on to your purse. Your wallet's ninety seven point one
- 22:10Speaker 2: CHEFM Toby and Chili in the Morning.
- 22:13Speaker 4: I don't know how.
- 22:13Speaker 2: This is possible, but apparently, Chili you found something that
- 22:16Speaker 2: says the average American is going to drop how much
- 22:19Speaker 2: on Thanksgiving?
- 22:20Speaker 3: One thousand dollars on what, one hundred and seventy five
- 22:24Speaker 3: for food, one hundred on drinks, eighty three for decorations,
- 22:27Speaker 3: two hundred and ninety one for miscellaneous things, and then
- 22:32Speaker 3: almost three hundred dollars for travel expenses.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Okay, I could see how travel might get you up there,
- 22:37Speaker 2: because well, I've i mean, firsthand experience.
- 22:41Speaker 4: I'm procrastinating on everything.
- 22:43Speaker 2: If I was going to fly home to Texas to
- 22:45Speaker 2: see my family, I'm sure it would probably cost about
- 22:47Speaker 2: a thousand dollars on Southwest.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's just for the airfare for you.
- 22:50Speaker 4: Yeah, that's and that's me being dumb.
- 22:53Speaker 2: But I just for the life of me, I can't
- 22:55Speaker 2: figure out how turkey stuffing, decorations and all unless you're
- 22:59Speaker 2: just going overboard first.
- 23:01Speaker 3: I think if you have a huge guest list, it
- 23:03Speaker 3: could easily get up to that. A few years ago,
- 23:06Speaker 3: I stopped hosting just the four of us, my husband,
- 23:10Speaker 3: my son, my dad, and I will just go to
- 23:12Speaker 3: a restaurant now that saves some money, and then we
- 23:14Speaker 3: have a cousin's giving the day after where it's pot luck,
- 23:17Speaker 3: so you don't have to worry about spending too much
- 23:20Speaker 3: money in that case either, because everybody brings something.
- 23:22Speaker 2: You said, pot luck. I'm hawkening back to days as
- 23:25Speaker 2: a young boy in Texas when they would have the
- 23:27Speaker 2: pot luck lunch after church. That was so good, but
- 23:31Speaker 2: you know what. To your point about the restaurants for Thanksgiving,
- 23:33Speaker 2: we did that last year in Boston, went up to
- 23:36Speaker 2: see my brother and his family. Kylo is at school
- 23:39Speaker 2: at Emerson up there at the time. And there's something
- 23:43Speaker 2: to be said about just rolling in, sitting down, getting served,
- 23:47Speaker 2: and not having any dishes to do.
- 23:49Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true, and leftovers still right?
- 23:52Speaker 2: Well yeah, well, I mean you could take a little
- 23:55Speaker 2: bit home, but I didn't bring anything home that not lives.
- 23:57Speaker 2: I don't know what I'm going to do this Thanksgiving,
- 23:59Speaker 2: but you know what, it's not going to cost one
- 24:01Speaker 2: thousand dollars.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Well, I hope not.
- 24:03Speaker 2: I ain't got it. Perhaps shoted, No, it was just
- 24:06Speaker 2: out for two months and medical bills.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Anyway.
- 24:09Speaker 2: What are you going to do though, Are you going
- 24:10Speaker 2: to spend one thousand dollars easy on Thanksgiving? Or no?
- 24:13Speaker 2: Maybe you're cutting back because you might be a government employee.
- 24:17Speaker 4: We know what you've gone through. We'd love to hear
- 24:18Speaker 4: from you right now.
