Speaker 3: the whole group. I mean they close up the border.

Speaker 5: about his background, including a recent altercation with Ice that
• 0:35
Speaker 5: broke his rib allegedly. Also, Tom Holman, he's in the
• 0:39
Speaker 5: fight now in Minneapolis, and he's also taking on the media,
• 0:43
Speaker 5: calling them out for many of the lies they're telling.
• 0:45
Speaker 5: We have that for you as well. Before we get

• 1:22
Speaker 5: eight seven to one. It's the forty seven Morning Update,
• 1:26
Speaker 5: and it starts right now.
• 1:27
  Speaker 4: Story number one.
• 1:29
Speaker 5: Alex Freddy. You may remember him as the guy that
• 1:32
Speaker 5: was shot by Ice after there was a physical encounter.
• 1:36
Speaker 5: We're now learning a lot more about the individual, including
• 1:39
Speaker 5: the fact that he had a broken rib wine in
• 1:43
Speaker 5: another physical encounter during anti ICE protests just a week
• 1:48
Speaker 5: before he was shot. He was also quote known to
• 1:53
Speaker 5: federal law enforcement before he was fatally shot. And not
• 1:56
Speaker 5: only did he have a broken rib during that physical
• 1:58
Speaker 5: altercation with ICE agents a week before he was killed
• 2:01
Speaker 5: by board patrol on Saturday. Sources are now confirming Preddy
• 2:06
Speaker 5: had a quote physical encounter with federal agents about a
• 2:09
Speaker 5: week before he was shot and killed by law enforcement
• 2:12
Speaker 5: his house. CNN is now reporting it as well. Here's
• 2:15
Speaker 5: part of what they had to say as they were
• 2:17
Speaker 5: telling their audience what had happened.
• 2:20
Speaker 6: And it is learning that Alex Pretty had a physical
• 2:22
Speaker 6: encounter with federal agents about a week before he was
• 2:25
Speaker 6: shot and killed by law enforcement. Sources tell CNN that
• 2:29
Speaker 6: Pretty broke a rib when a group of federal officers
• 2:32
Speaker 6: tackled him while he was protesting. Priscilla Alvarez is breaking
• 2:36
Speaker 6: that story for us. What else are you hearing, Priscilla.
• 2:39
Speaker 1: Dan, I we're learning more details along with my colleague
• 2:42
Speaker 1: Jeff Winter about what exactly transpired a week before Alex
• 2:46
Speaker 1: Pretty was shot in Minneapolis and died this past weekend. Now,
• 2:50
Speaker 1: in this earlier incident, he stopped his car after observing
• 2:55
Speaker 1: Ice agents chasing what he described as a family on foot,
• 2:59
Speaker 1: and began shouting and blowing his whistle. Pretty later told
• 3:03
Speaker 1: one of these sources that five agents tackled him and
• 3:06
Speaker 1: one leaned on his pat on his back, appearing to
• 3:10
Speaker 1: leave him with a broken rib. According to this source,
• 3:13
Speaker 1: and I'm quoting here that said quote that day, he
• 3:16
Speaker 1: thought he was going to die. Now, Preddi was later
• 3:20
Speaker 1: given medication that is consistent with treating a broken rib,
• 3:23
Speaker 1: according to records were viewed by CNN. Versus also say
• 3:27
Speaker 1: that he was known to federal law enforcement, though it's
• 3:30
Speaker 1: unclear whether it was this incident or another with federal
• 3:34
Speaker 1: agents that they knew him they knew of him. It's
• 3:38
Speaker 1: also unclear whether the officers who tackled him on Saturday
• 3:42
Speaker 1: knew who he was. We do know, however, is that
• 3:45
Speaker 1: federal immigration officers have been collecting personal information of protesters
• 3:50
Speaker 1: and agitators within the context of the Department of Homeland
• 3:54
Speaker 1: Security has warned is repeated threats towards officers as they
• 3:58
Speaker 1: are conducting immigration enforcement operations. In fact, just Tuesday, the
• 4:02
Speaker 1: department also publicized an online tip form to share information
• 4:05
Speaker 1: about people allegedly harassing ICE officers. We've also heard Tom
• 4:10
Speaker 1: Holman the White House borders are say that a database
• 4:12
Speaker 1: would be created for those who are arrested for impeding
• 4:16
Speaker 1: law enforcement. But thus far, in our queries whose department
• 4:19
Speaker 1: fal Land Security, they have said that no such database exists.
• 4:24
Speaker 5: Now here's the question whose side is seeing it on?
• 4:27
  Speaker 2: There?
• 4:28
Speaker 5: Is it the side of the protester that attacked law enforcement,
• 4:32
Speaker 5: Because if you listen to how they just report that news,
• 4:36
Speaker 5: they want you to feel sorry for the man who
• 4:38
Speaker 5: had a broken rib. Now, this incident unfolded after Preddy
• 4:41
Speaker 5: stopped his car upon observing ICE agents chasing a family
• 4:46
Speaker 5: on foot and got involved by protesting their attempt to
• 4:50
Speaker 5: detain the other individuals. Now, of course he didn't know,
• 4:53
Speaker 5: we would assume what those people were being chased for right.
• 4:56
Speaker 5: What crimes they may have committed doesn't matter, because when
• 4:59
Speaker 5: you you want to go to war with ICE agents
• 5:01
Speaker 5: like this man did before and was doing it again,
• 5:05
Speaker 5: this is exactly what you can expect from the radical left.
• 5:09
Speaker 5: He was again tackled by US immigration and Constant Enforcement
• 5:13
Speaker 5: agents and later claimed that one of the officers had
• 5:15
Speaker 5: leaned on his back, leaving him with a quote broken
• 5:18
Speaker 5: rib that day he thought he was going to die.
• 5:20
Speaker 5: You heard in that interview there. Well, did he really
• 5:24
Speaker 5: think he was going to die? Because if you did,
• 5:26
Speaker 5: would you show up and do it all over again
• 5:29
Speaker 5: days later? Think about that? The source of course that
• 5:33
Speaker 5: CNN has also added that Pretty's name was already known
• 5:37
Speaker 5: to federal agents by the time he was fatally shot
• 5:40
Speaker 5: in Minneapolis. Okay, that brings up another question, how do
• 5:44
Speaker 5: they know about you? How often were you doing this?
• 5:47
Speaker 5: How often were you involved? Now it remains unclear the
• 5:51
Speaker 5: federal agents who encountered Preddy on Saturday new or recognized
• 5:56
Speaker 5: him before the scuffle and the ultimate that ultimately led
• 5:59
Speaker 5: to the thirty seven year old's death. In its report,
• 6:02
Speaker 5: you may have noticed their CNN said he had a
• 6:04
Speaker 5: gun in his waistband during Saturday's brawl. Yes, bright bart
• 6:11
Speaker 5: News also reported the limited facts available at the time
• 6:14
Speaker 5: of Saturay's fatal shooting of Preddy by a Border Patrol
• 6:17
Speaker 5: agent that so far have not been disputed, indicate he
• 6:22
Speaker 5: was armed during the struggle that led up to the shooting.
• 6:25
Speaker 5: So another example of you know, the media just not
• 6:28
Speaker 5: wanting to actually talk about the real issue here. Moreover,
• 6:32
Speaker 5: the CBP use of force policy is grounded in constitutional
• 6:36
Speaker 5: law as interpreted by the federal courts, and requires any
• 6:40
Speaker 5: use of force be objectively reasonable based on the circumstances
• 6:44
Speaker 5: as the agent perceived them at the moment force was applied. Now,
• 6:50
Speaker 5: this standard is determined by what the agent knew or
• 6:53
Speaker 5: perceived when he pulled the trigger, not by public opinion,
• 6:57
Speaker 5: certainly not the media or the influence by politicians, nor
• 7:02
Speaker 5: by a retrospective onerous review of slow motion video footage.
• 7:08
Speaker 5: The policy states that any time an agent has a
• 7:10
Speaker 5: reasonable belief a person poses an imminent danger of death
• 7:16
Speaker 5: or serious physical injury to the agent or another person,
• 7:20
Speaker 5: the primary hurdle for using deadly forces cleared and the
• 7:24
Speaker 5: action is authorized. Now, the US Department of Home in
• 7:28
Speaker 5: Security has repeatedly warrned of threats against federal agents during
• 7:32
Speaker 5: immigration enforcement operations, saying this, when our law enforcement encounters
• 7:38
Speaker 5: a violent agitator who is breaking the law, obstructing law enforcement,
• 7:43
Speaker 5: or assaulting them, our law enforcement make records to advance prosecution.
• 7:49
Speaker 5: That coming from the DHS Assistant Secretary of Tristia McLaughlin.
• 7:52
Speaker 5: This is not groundbreaking, it is standard protocol. So when
• 7:56
Speaker 5: you hear the stories about this individual, just know he
• 8:00
Speaker 5: had a history of going after ICE agents even a
• 8:05
Speaker 5: week before. And remember many in the media are still
• 8:08
Speaker 5: not talking about the fact that the man was armed
• 8:11
  Speaker 5: during the encounter.
• 8:13
Speaker 4: Now story number two.
• 8:14
Speaker 5: The mainstream media stunned into silence as the White House
• 8:18
Speaker 5: Press Secretary had to remind them that Barack Obama actually
• 8:23
Speaker 5: awarded a medal to the man they hate the most
• 8:26
Speaker 5: right now that's just been deployed to Minnesota, Tom Holman.
• 8:29
Speaker 5: Here is what she had to say from the White
• 8:31
Speaker 5: House podium, reminding them that you guys are saying you
• 8:34
Speaker 5: hate Tom. Well, guess how he got so big. It
• 8:38
Speaker 5: was actually because of Barack Obamack.
• 8:41
Speaker 7: This is a Washington Post headline from nine years ago,
• 8:44
Speaker 7: twenty sixteen. Meet the man the White House is honored
• 8:47
Speaker 7: for deporting illegal immigrants. And I would remind everyone in
• 8:50
Speaker 7: this room that it was former President Barack Hussein Obama
• 8:53
Speaker 7: who awarded a medal to mister Homan, so he's obviously
• 8:56
Speaker 7: very qualified. He has the full trust and faith of
• 8:58
Speaker 7: the President. Will continue to have these meetings in.
• 9:01
Speaker 8: The hopes that weak ice and local law enforcement can
• 9:05
Speaker 8: cooperate and work together to have successful immigration enforcement, as
• 9:09
Speaker 8: we've seen in almost every other state across the country.
• 9:12
Speaker 5: Now you listen to the White House press Hereteria there
• 9:15
Speaker 5: reminding the press room of what they were writing about
• 9:19
Speaker 5: Tom Homan when he was connected to Barack Obama. And
• 9:22
Speaker 5: it's not just that. Let me also remind you of
• 9:24
Speaker 5: what Barack Obama actually had to say in twenty ten
• 9:28
Speaker 5: on this entire issue. Here's the President in his own
• 9:31
Speaker 5: words back in twenty ten.
• 9:34
Speaker 2: There are those in the immigrants rights community who have
• 9:37
Speaker 2: argued passionately that we should simply provide those who are
• 9:42
Speaker 2: illegally with legal status, or at least ignore the laws
• 9:47
Speaker 2: on the books, and put an end to deportation until
• 9:50
Speaker 2: we have better laws. And often this argument is framed
• 9:53
Speaker 2: in moral terms. Why should we punish people who are
• 9:57
Speaker 2: just trying to earn a living. I reckon nice the
• 10:01
Speaker 2: sense of compassion that drives this argument, but I believe
• 10:05
Speaker 2: such an indiscriminate approach would be both unwise and unfair.
• 10:09
Speaker 2: It would suggest to those thinking about coming here illegally
• 10:13
Speaker 2: that there will be no repercussions for such a decision,
• 10:17
Speaker 2: and this could lead to a surge in more illegal immigration.
• 10:23
Speaker 2: And it would also ignore the millions of people around
• 10:25
Speaker 2: the world who are waiting in line to come here legally. Ultimately,
• 10:31
Speaker 2: our nation, like all nations, has the right and obligation
• 10:36
Speaker 2: to control its borders and set laws for residency and citizenship.
• 10:42
Speaker 2: And no matter how decent they are, no matter their reasons,
• 10:47
Speaker 2: the eleven million who broke these laws should be held accountable.
• 10:51
Speaker 5: The eleven million. He used that number back in twenty ten,
• 10:57
Speaker 5: said they should be held accountable. President Obama shooting down
• 11:02
Speaker 5: the whole stop deportations and just let the illegal immigrants be,
• 11:07
Speaker 5: you know, turn into American citizens. He's saying, no back then. Now,
• 11:13
Speaker 5: that's the most important part of the conversation is that
• 11:17
Speaker 5: you actually have this. It is truly truly incredible.
