- 0:00Speaker 1: Nobody not do me. Nobody does it like your early
- 0:03Speaker 1: what a praise party. I am Sherry Mackie at his time,
- 0:07Speaker 1: right now for today's word. Convicted by love. John sixteen
- 0:15Speaker 1: and eight says, and he, when he comes, will convict
- 0:19Speaker 1: the world about the guilt of sin and the need
- 0:24Speaker 1: for savior, and about righteousness and about judgment. The word convict,
- 0:31Speaker 1: in its various forms such as convicted and conviction, can
- 0:36Speaker 1: be used in a negative sense, such as in a
- 0:39Speaker 1: trial when someone is convicted of a crime. They can
- 0:42Speaker 1: also be positive, though, such as when they describe a
- 0:46Speaker 1: person of strong moral convictions, meaning strong moral principles or beliefs. Well.
- 0:54Speaker 1: In Biblical terms, the word conviction is used in connection
- 0:58Speaker 1: with the ministry of the Holy He convicts us of sin,
- 1:02Speaker 1: not so we feel terrible about what we've done when
- 1:06Speaker 1: we fall short of God's standard, but so that we
- 1:10Speaker 1: can repent and experience God's grace find freedom. See he
- 1:16Speaker 1: convicts us because He loves us. Feeling convicted is not
- 1:20Speaker 1: the same as feeling condemnation or condemned. When you feel
- 1:25Speaker 1: the conviction of the Holy Spirit, you know you've done
- 1:27Speaker 1: something that's not pleasing to God. But you also know
- 1:30Speaker 1: that God loves you and that you are certain to
- 1:34Speaker 1: be forgiven when you confess your sins. See, when people
- 1:38Speaker 1: feel condemned, they feel a burden of guilt that they
- 1:42Speaker 1: cannot seem to escape, and they feel hopeless. Condemnation is
- 1:47Speaker 1: from the enemy, But conviction is a gift, y'all. It's
- 1:50Speaker 1: a gift from the Holy Spirit and at least to
- 1:52Speaker 1: forgiveness and freedom. You See, Jesus died to give us
- 1:56Speaker 1: freedom from sin and says in his words that if
- 1:59Speaker 1: we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to
- 2:02Speaker 1: forgive us and clans us of all on righteousness. He
- 2:08Speaker 1: convicts us because he loves us too much to leave
- 2:13Speaker 1: us in our sin. Father, thank you for sending the
- 2:17Speaker 1: Holy Spirit help us to yield to his conviction so
- 2:22Speaker 1: we can enjoy your forgiveness, your freedom, and all that
- 2:26Speaker 1: your love has to offer. In Jesus name, that's your
- 2:30Speaker 1: word for today. Take that apply to your everyday life,
- 2:34Speaker 1: and you continue to be encouraged and inspired. It's your
- 2:37Speaker 1: early morning praise party. I am Sherry Mackie
