- 0:53Speaker 1: we are in the midst of this coming NFL We're
- 0:56Speaker 1: in the midst of the NFL Draft season. But the
- 0:58Speaker 1: draft is going to be here before we know what.
- 1:00Speaker 1: The Philadelphia Eagles are going to be on the clock
- 1:03Speaker 1: before we know it. Lots of draft picks that we're
- 1:06Speaker 1: probably gonna end up seeing. But we've got the one
- 1:09Speaker 1: and only Lou Deviassi from the Locked Down Eagles Podcast. Buddy,
- 1:12Speaker 1: it's great to see you. Thanks so much for jumping on.

- 1:29Speaker 2: I have so many like random Eagles clothing and hats
- 1:32Speaker 2: that I got to show off.

- 1:37Speaker 1: many fantastic newspapers that have been framed just with regard
- 1:43Speaker 1: to the Eagles monumental occasions and this coming.
- 1:46Speaker 3: To it's just a way to that. I hoard my
- 1:48Speaker 3: Eagles stuff there.
- 1:49Speaker 2: They's just a way to organize it, and it seemed
- 1:52Speaker 2: like less freaky way.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Absolutely absolutely well, really quick before we get into the draft.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Some folks who may be new to listening or watching

- 2:44Speaker 1: You go. It's fun. It's fun to say the least.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Get all right. Well, Lou, as we've talked about on
- 2:50Speaker 1: our podcast platform, you know, I know you've been getting
- 2:55Speaker 1: into it to a certain extent over locked on Eagles
- 2:57Speaker 1: as well. As we're heading into this NFL Draft. I
- 3:00Speaker 1: really don't feel that much anxiety about what Howie Roseman
- 3:04Speaker 1: and the Eagles front office may do throughout this draft.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I don't know if it's still coming off the Super
- 3:09Speaker 1: Bowl win or the fact that this is a young
- 3:12Speaker 1: Eagles team who is slated to be relevant for the
- 3:15Speaker 1: next few years. It really does feel like how He
- 3:18Speaker 1: is playing with house money heading into this draft. Are
- 3:21Speaker 1: you thinking the same thing and how do you think
- 3:24Speaker 1: US Eagles fans really should be looking at this upcoming
- 3:27Speaker 1: draft from an overall perspective.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I'm actually with you, and I was stressed
- 3:31Speaker 2: last year because I was adamant about them. They need
- 3:34Speaker 2: to draft a cornerback. I will not be happy until
- 3:37Speaker 2: they do it. No more trenches, I get it. Do
- 3:39Speaker 2: that ninety percent at a time. Take one year to
- 3:41Speaker 2: take a corner So I was stressed last year. Then
- 3:43Speaker 2: how we got Cooper dejen Quinya Mitchell back to back
- 3:46Speaker 2: of course in the reverse order there. I was happy
- 3:48Speaker 2: this year they did that for me. They have a
- 3:51Speaker 2: complete roster for the short term and for the long
- 3:54Speaker 2: term as well. I made the point on my show
- 3:56Speaker 2: that this is the most unpredictable draft for the Eagles
- 3:58Speaker 2: since I'd say eighteen post Super Bowl fifty two, But
- 4:02Speaker 2: that was because the roster was so complete from a
- 4:04Speaker 2: short term respective that year. This year, it's like they
- 4:07Speaker 2: have needs filled for this season, yeah, and for beyond,
- 4:11Speaker 2: and especially now that the Camp Jurgens second extension has done.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Their entire offense is locked up basically through twenty twenty seven,
- 4:17Speaker 2: so they can kind of do whatever they want this year,
- 4:19Speaker 2: and I'm fine with it. If they took a tight
- 4:21Speaker 2: end or a safety, I'm cool with it. If they
- 4:23Speaker 2: go with the trenches, they have the optionality and the
- 4:26Speaker 2: flexibility because how he's done such a good job over
- 4:28Speaker 2: the last four drafts and free agency of hitting on
- 4:31Speaker 2: sustainable pieces that it's a great Yeah, they don't they
- 4:34Speaker 2: don't have to. Yeah, they don't have to force anything.
- 4:36Speaker 1: The flexibility is a great word that you use there
- 4:38Speaker 1: in Low and I think when you were using that
- 4:40Speaker 1: word flexibility, it really generates just these positive vibes about
- 4:44Speaker 1: where the organization and this team is going in the future.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Offensively and defensively too. The flexibility I think is so
- 4:51Speaker 1: key for where they want to go down the road.
- 4:54Speaker 2: That's the thing too, is it's not just I feel
- 4:56Speaker 2: like at times the offense always had sustainable, long term
- 4:58Speaker 2: core pieces, but it was at the the expensive of
- 5:01Speaker 2: the defense. Now they have one of the youngest defenses
- 5:04Speaker 2: in football as well, with legitimate pieces that'll eventually get extensions.
- 5:08Speaker 2: So there isn't a clear hole. I think safety might
- 5:11Speaker 2: be the closest to that, but there is a piece
- 5:13Speaker 2: at every spot that you at least have some hope
- 5:14Speaker 2: for With Sidney Brown and even at corner with Keelee
- 5:17Speaker 2: Ringo opposite Quangnon and Coop Jay Loox Hunt on the edge,
- 5:21Speaker 2: Moro Joma on the inside. Yeah, they could maybe try
- 5:24Speaker 2: to upgrade through the draft, but they have a piece.
- 5:27Speaker 2: They have shown a lot of promise over the years
- 5:30Speaker 2: and at pretty much every spot. So yeah, and it's
- 5:33Speaker 2: probably the Super Bowl when you're right too, I think
- 5:35Speaker 2: two rings five in eight years where you beat the
- 5:37Speaker 2: NFL's equivalent of Michael Jordan and Lebron James and Tom
- 5:40Speaker 2: Brady and Pat Mahomes. Right as your cup feeling pretty
- 5:43Speaker 2: filled as well?
- 5:44Speaker 1: Right, absolutely, Well, Look, many of us are thinking as
- 5:47Speaker 1: we're looking at this draft that the Eagles are probably
- 5:50Speaker 1: going to try to bolster themselves through the trenches on
- 5:53Speaker 1: both offensive on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I think especially from a defensive line perspective, given the
- 6:01Speaker 1: fact that they lost some talent during this offseason. Lou
- 6:05Speaker 1: And based on some of the tweets that I've read
- 6:07Speaker 1: from you, my friend, I know that you love James
- 6:11Speaker 1: Pierce Junior from Tennessee. I love the guy too, But
- 6:14Speaker 1: if he is not there interior defensive line and that
- 6:18Speaker 1: talent is also I think going to be important to
- 6:21Speaker 1: continuing that, you know, quote building within the trench's mentality.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Do you think d line is where the Eagles are
- 6:26Speaker 1: really going to go with that number thirty two overall
- 6:28Speaker 1: pick or their first pick, whenever that's going to be.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I think so, and again I wouldn't be surprised if
- 6:33Speaker 2: it's any position that we hear on Thursday night. But
- 6:35Speaker 2: if I if I was a betting man and I
- 6:37Speaker 2: am to it, sometimes I would go with the trenches.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Whether it's an edge rusher or a pass rushing defensive
- 6:43Speaker 2: tackle like a Walter Nolan from Ole mess or a
- 6:45Speaker 2: Derek Harmon from Oregon. I could see them going there
- 6:48Speaker 2: because not only is it a need again, moro Is
- 6:51Speaker 2: Joma is somebody that I like, say with Jaylex Hunt,
- 6:54Speaker 2: but Howie Roseman likes to have many options in the trenches.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Especially after losing Milton Williams, they want to place him
- 7:00Speaker 2: with a pass rusher. So I think that's the way
- 7:02Speaker 2: to go. Plus, it's the strength of this class I
- 7:05Speaker 2: think the most depth. If there's a chance of somebody
- 7:07Speaker 2: falling down the board to thirty two, or even in
- 7:10Speaker 2: the form of a small trade up, I think it's
- 7:12Speaker 2: for a pass rusher, whether it is Walter Nolan or
- 7:14Speaker 2: James Pierce or I don't know, Shamar Stewart from Texas
- 7:17Speaker 2: A and m mckel williams. There's so many guys this
- 7:20Speaker 2: year that I think there is a chance that somebody
- 7:23Speaker 2: slips down the board and you can go up and
- 7:24Speaker 2: get that player. They could take the offensive linemen that
- 7:27Speaker 2: are in this class, tight end safety, but I just
- 7:29Speaker 2: think based on the depth of the class, the strength
- 7:31Speaker 2: at the top of it, and the need short term
- 7:34Speaker 2: and long term, that pass rusher probably makes the most sense.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Absolutely. It's interesting how you did mention the tight end.
- 7:40Speaker 1: I would tell folks to go back into the podcast
- 7:42Speaker 1: feed or here on our YouTube channel. We spoke to
- 7:45Speaker 1: Matt Waldman from the Rookie Scouting Portfolio this past week,
- 7:48Speaker 1: really talked about the tight end position in a lot
- 7:52Speaker 1: of depth, So folks go back and listen to that.
- 7:54Speaker 1: It was a great, great conversation. But I wanted to
- 7:56Speaker 1: move along our conversation here, Lou with the secondary, because
- 8:00Speaker 1: the secondary is what I'm going to be really interested
- 8:02Speaker 1: in seeing where the Eagles potentially go in this draft.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Whether it's cornerback, safety, the Eagles are going to need
- 8:09Speaker 1: to start addressing both positions in my opinion. I mean,
- 8:13Speaker 1: of course, quinyon Mitchell Cooper dejen last year to first
- 8:17Speaker 1: pick and second picks of last year's draft, but the
- 8:20Speaker 1: depth behind them. I mean you were mentioning Kighlely Ringo
- 8:23Speaker 1: as well as one of those possible up and comers.
- 8:26Speaker 1: It's I don't know. I have this this bizarre concern
- 8:30Speaker 1: that may not be valid about where the depth of
- 8:32Speaker 1: the defensive backfield really is going to be going. So
- 8:35Speaker 1: what are your thoughts on how the Eagles are going
- 8:38Speaker 1: to handle the defensive backs in this draft based on
- 8:40Speaker 1: the current depth chart and how that looks.
- 8:42Speaker 2: I think it's a valid concern. You lost not just
- 8:45Speaker 2: Darius Slay, but Isaiah Rodgers and Avonte Maddocks. You lost
- 8:48Speaker 2: three pieces that played a lot of football for you
- 8:50Speaker 2: last year and over the years, so they could use
- 8:53Speaker 2: more depth. I think they're banking on Kimi Ringo taking
- 8:55Speaker 2: that step at Dori Jackson still being something at the
- 8:58Speaker 2: next level.
- 8:59Speaker 1: That's what it is going to be.
- 9:00Speaker 2: But yeah, you know it exactly. Maybe you get something
- 9:03Speaker 2: left from him Eli Rix, maybe, I mean he showed
- 9:06Speaker 2: some promise in twenty twenty three, but they definitely have
- 9:08Speaker 2: to add a corner in this class, and I would
- 9:10Speaker 2: like him to have slot versatility too, because without Avante Maddox,
- 9:14Speaker 2: who's your nickel backup to Cooper Degene. So I would
- 9:17Speaker 2: like to add a corner as much as I love corners,
- 9:19Speaker 2: though I think early on in the draft, unless the
- 9:21Speaker 2: board is just a disaster and corners by far the
- 9:24Speaker 2: best player available, like a Trey Amos or a Maxwell Harriston,
- 9:28Speaker 2: I don't think it's a smart use of a resource
- 9:30Speaker 2: to get another corner early on when you know there's
- 9:33Speaker 2: two guys already on the same kind of timeline from
- 9:35Speaker 2: a contract perspective, in Cooper and Quinnon, that you're going
- 9:39Speaker 2: to give an extension to. So taking somebody in the
- 9:41Speaker 2: first round that I almost know isn't getting a second
- 9:43Speaker 2: contract on my team, I don't love that idea. Again,
- 9:46Speaker 2: if the board's a disaster and you can't trade down, okay,
- 9:50Speaker 2: But for me, the focus is more on safety because
- 9:53Speaker 2: Sidney Brown, I think ideally is more of a third safety,
- 9:55Speaker 2: a rotating player in dime packages. If a Malchi Starks
- 9:59Speaker 2: fell down the border nick em and Warri, I kind
- 10:01Speaker 2: of like the idea of even moving up for one
- 10:03Speaker 2: of those guys. So I think safety is after losing
- 10:06Speaker 2: Chaunsey Garner Johnson is the bigger focus than corner. I
- 10:09Speaker 2: think they should definitely have a safety in the first
- 10:10Speaker 2: three rounds.
- 10:11Speaker 1: I have had a number of back and forth with
- 10:13Speaker 1: some folks on social media various platforms talking about Sidney
- 10:17Speaker 1: Brown quite frankly lou and folks saying he really hasn't
- 10:21Speaker 1: had that chance, and of course he hasn't been a
- 10:23Speaker 1: long term starter. However, we have seen him on the field,
- 10:27Speaker 1: and we've seen him do some good things, but he's
- 10:29Speaker 1: also been detrimental out there as well in certain games
- 10:32Speaker 1: because he's a crazy person exactly exactly. So, I don't
- 10:36Speaker 1: know what's your response to that narrative of Okay, we
- 10:39Speaker 1: don't necessarily know who Sidney Brown is. I'm not sure
- 10:42Speaker 1: about that at this point. What are your thoughts?
- 10:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, he hasn't played a lot because of
- 10:46Speaker 2: the injury, of course, which kept him out for some
- 10:49Speaker 2: of last year. But also I'm a little concerned that
- 10:51Speaker 2: even when he was healthy, Vic Fangio played Trista McCollum
- 10:54Speaker 2: over him when they were playing backup safety. So Sidney Brown,
- 10:58Speaker 2: I love the traits, I love the rain. He does
- 11:00Speaker 2: have crazy hit power. I think if he can rein
- 11:03Speaker 2: it in and improve his tackling because the misstackleway last
- 11:07Speaker 2: year was not good that Fanjo didn't trust him. If
- 11:10Speaker 2: he can rain that in and develop those techniques and
- 11:12Speaker 2: patients the tackling angles this year, he does have a
- 11:15Speaker 2: high ceiling, but I'm concerned that he might just always
- 11:19Speaker 2: be that reckless kind of player, and I don't love
- 11:21Speaker 2: the coverage ability of him one on one. So I
- 11:23Speaker 2: think ideally, if that's your third guy coming in in
- 11:26Speaker 2: certain packages, that's really good. Again, he has got a
- 11:29Speaker 2: lot of playing time, and I like that the Eagles
- 11:31Speaker 2: want to give him a chance as well as a
- 11:32Speaker 2: lot of young players. That's how last year's defense got
- 11:34Speaker 2: so good, is giving these young players a chance instead
- 11:37Speaker 2: of bringing back veteran stop gaps. But for Sidney Brown,
- 11:40Speaker 2: I don't know. I think there could be an upgrade
- 11:43Speaker 2: through this draft, even bringing in like at Justin Simmons
- 11:46Speaker 2: after the draft. I think sid is ideally a third
- 11:48Speaker 2: safety at this next level. We'll see though, if he's
- 11:50Speaker 2: got to definitely get more playing time to really know
- 11:53Speaker 2: the full story.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Absolutely, it's going to be a great storyline to follow
- 11:56Speaker 1: when we're certainly going to be following heading into this
- 11:59Speaker 1: draft and the rest this offseason. But moving over to
- 12:02Speaker 1: the offense.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Now.
- 12:04Speaker 1: I think the Eagles have an interesting running back room
- 12:08Speaker 1: at this moment, of course, with Saquon Barkley, Will Shipley,
- 12:11Speaker 1: who's going to be going into his sophomore season, and
- 12:14Speaker 1: the acquisition of AJ Dillon during free agency. Lou, I'm wondering,
- 12:18Speaker 1: when this NFL draft is all said and done, how
- 12:21Speaker 1: do you think the Eagles running back room is going
- 12:24Speaker 1: to look. I do you think it's going to be
- 12:26Speaker 1: the same or do you think Howie is going to
- 12:28Speaker 1: add even more depth to the running back room and
- 12:32Speaker 1: this particular position on offense. And do you like anybody
- 12:36Speaker 1: perhaps maybe a Day two, Day three pick.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they should bring in at least one
- 12:41Speaker 2: more running back, and I think they will.
- 12:43Speaker 3: I like AJ Dillon.
- 12:44Speaker 2: He was actually a suggestion for me last offseason if
- 12:46Speaker 2: they weren't going to Saquon Barkley route and we're going
- 12:48Speaker 2: to keep with the committee approach.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought.
- 12:50Speaker 2: I like that size and power that he could bring
- 12:53Speaker 2: to the table. I like that element this year too,
- 12:55Speaker 2: because Will Shipley's more of an undersized receiving type of back.
- 12:59Speaker 2: If Saquon get banged up, I don't want Will Shipley
- 13:01Speaker 2: to be like the full blown RB one. So I
- 13:04Speaker 2: like Dylan in that perspective, but the neck injury is concerning.
- 13:07Speaker 2: This could end up being a Rashad Penny type of
- 13:09Speaker 2: signing where he just doesn't play at all. So I
- 13:11Speaker 2: think you got to bring in another body, and I
- 13:13Speaker 2: hope it's with the power aspect to it. I want
- 13:15Speaker 2: another guy with size. The Eagles met virtually with South
- 13:18Speaker 2: Carolina running back Rahem Sanders, somebody that I really like.
- 13:21Speaker 2: He's got that power aspect. You could probably get him
- 13:24Speaker 2: in the fifth round. You've got what three or four picks, Yeah,
- 13:27Speaker 2: in round five. So I liked that suggestion on Day
- 13:30Speaker 2: three this year. Look, Saquon Barkley is not going to
- 13:32Speaker 2: touch the football almost four hundred times that he did
- 13:35Speaker 2: last year. I just don't think a running back that
- 13:37Speaker 2: age can realistically, even Saquon, who's a cyborg of a
- 13:41Speaker 2: human being, I don't think realistically he can take on
- 13:43Speaker 2: that historic workload two years in a row. So some
- 13:47Speaker 2: of that relief will come through more passing, but I
- 13:51Speaker 2: also think it should come through running backs, other running
- 13:54Speaker 2: backs getting more touches. So I think you want to
- 13:56Speaker 2: add more bodies because I don't know if Aj Dillon
- 13:58Speaker 2: or will Shipley, you should really bank on to be
- 14:01Speaker 2: at RB two that has a bigger workload than like
- 14:04Speaker 2: a Kenneth Gainwell did in twenty twenty four.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Again, folks, we're talking to Lou Debassi from the Locked
- 14:08Speaker 1: On Eagles podcast. I subscribe on Apple podcast, also subscribe
- 14:13Speaker 1: on YouTube as well. Great great content every day. And
- 14:17Speaker 1: as we're moving along with a conversation here, Lou, you know,
- 14:20Speaker 1: I feel like if you have aj Brown and Devonte
- 14:23Speaker 1: Smith on your team, you really don't need that many
- 14:26Speaker 1: more receiving hands. But I have a feeling the Eagles
- 14:29Speaker 1: are going to look to possibly draft another wide receiver
- 14:32Speaker 1: as Annayah Smith and Johnny Wilson, who were drafted last
- 14:35Speaker 1: year in twenty twenty four, really didn't break through too much. No,
- 14:39Speaker 1: Johnny Wilson had had one touchdown this year, but I
- 14:42Speaker 1: know he had less than fifty yards of receiving. What
- 14:44Speaker 1: are your thoughts about the Eagles possibly drafting a wide
- 14:47Speaker 1: receiver to possibly even compete with Johan Dotson for that
- 14:51Speaker 1: number three wide receiver role, or to even add another
- 14:54Speaker 1: depth piece.
- 14:55Speaker 2: I could totally see it, and it's not just from
- 14:57Speaker 2: a receiver perspective of they need to bring in comp petition.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Without Britain Covey here and now it's just Johnny Wilson
- 15:02Speaker 2: and i A Smith behind your top three. But Dotson's
- 15:05Speaker 2: only under contract for one more year. They have the
- 15:08Speaker 2: fifth year option idea, but or option I should say
- 15:11Speaker 2: fifth year option option. They are not going to use
- 15:13Speaker 2: that on Dotson. So outside of aj Brown DeVante Smith,
- 15:17Speaker 2: you only really have those two hunder contract beyond this
- 15:20Speaker 2: season as pass catchers, with Dalla Scoddard also probably not
- 15:24Speaker 2: coming back this year, and if he does, it's on
- 15:25Speaker 2: a one year rental. So yeah, I think they got
- 15:28Speaker 2: to bring in a pass catcher, whether it's a tight
- 15:30Speaker 2: end or receiver. And maybe they think, hey, the third
- 15:33Speaker 2: guy in this passing offense now is not going to
- 15:35Speaker 2: be a tight end. Maybe they go tight end by
- 15:37Speaker 2: committee and say it's Dotson or another early pick that
- 15:40Speaker 2: we bring in to be that got it replacement. So
- 15:43Speaker 2: keep an eye out for receiver. I don't think it.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I'm not predicting receiver is going to go early. But
- 15:47Speaker 2: if you told me they took a pass catcher that's
- 15:49Speaker 2: wide receiver in the first three rounds and not a
- 15:51Speaker 2: tight end, I wouldn't be shocked. I'm not predicting it,
- 15:54Speaker 2: but I think they just need to add a third
- 15:56Speaker 2: passing option in this draft, or at least somebody that
- 15:59Speaker 2: has that potent long term, because Dotson and God are
- 16:02Speaker 2: not here to stay.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I don't think, yeah, as do I I think it's
- 16:05Speaker 1: going to happen. And again, it feels like Howie and
- 16:08Speaker 1: the front office are playing with house money here. They're
- 16:10Speaker 1: gonna be able to make a lot of various moves
- 16:13Speaker 1: and nothing is really going to shock me.
- 16:15Speaker 3: So yeah, Jeff, what if like a Matthew goldenfell the threat?
- 16:17Speaker 1: Oh my god?
- 16:17Speaker 2: I mean yeah, could you imagine? I would like to
- 16:19Speaker 2: add a deep threat? And obviously DeVante Smith and aj
- 16:22Speaker 2: Brown have explosive ability. They can be plays down the field.
- 16:24Speaker 2: We saw it with the Dagger playing in the super Bowl.
- 16:26Speaker 2: But I mean, like a niche like deep threat specialist,
- 16:30Speaker 2: a better version of a Quez Watkins. I want to
- 16:32Speaker 2: take a chance on a guy like that again that
- 16:33Speaker 2: has that kind of like sub four to three speed
- 16:36Speaker 2: as a natroll for this unit.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Absolutely absolutely, And Lou before I let you go, buddy, Finally,
- 16:41Speaker 1: you know, I think we're all waiting to see whether
- 16:44Speaker 1: the Eagles will end up trading Dallas Goddard. It's a
- 16:48Speaker 1: storyline that a lot of US fans are talking about
- 16:51Speaker 1: right now. Possibly, who knows, maybe they'll trade him to
- 16:53Speaker 1: move up in the first round of this draft, possibly
- 16:56Speaker 1: the games some draft assets, or even to acquire a
- 16:59Speaker 1: pass rusher. Who knows. I mean, Godard was drafted all
- 17:03Speaker 1: the way back in twenty eighteen. It's hard to believe
- 17:05Speaker 1: that he's been here for so many years. I don't know,
- 17:08Speaker 1: how do you think this all plays out? And if
- 17:11Speaker 1: they do end up trading him, I mean, what the
- 17:13Speaker 1: heck are they going to do with the tight end position?
- 17:16Speaker 1: I mean you kind of hinted at it a couple
- 17:18Speaker 1: of minutes ago here, But you know, how do you
- 17:19Speaker 1: think this all plays out?
- 17:21Speaker 2: They have a few options they could look to, you know,
- 17:24Speaker 2: increase the workload of Johan Dotson. I think it's a
- 17:26Speaker 2: really deep tight end class. I think the most likely
- 17:29Speaker 2: scenarios they draft somebody in round two LSU, although Mason
- 17:32Speaker 2: Taylor from LSU might even be available at that point.
- 17:35Speaker 2: But like an Elijah Rorio from Miami, a Harald fan
- 17:38Speaker 2: and from Bowling Green. I like Gunner Helm as well
- 17:40Speaker 2: from Texas. Maybe more as a third round pick. I
- 17:43Speaker 2: think a Day two selection is going to be the
- 17:45Speaker 2: most likely replacement for Goddard. I have said that if
- 17:48Speaker 2: they can make it work, I want him back for
- 17:50Speaker 2: one year. I think a rental season of Goddart and
- 17:52Speaker 2: a championship window is more important than another Day three
- 17:55Speaker 2: pick when you have a thousand of them right in
- 17:57Speaker 2: the next few years. But I just think both sides
- 17:59Speaker 2: are their feet are dug in, Like the Eagles want
- 18:02Speaker 2: him to take a pay cut and they're not going
- 18:03Speaker 2: to extend him, and I think Goddard wants to pay raise,
- 18:06Speaker 2: especially after the trade McBride extension, coming off a really
- 18:09Speaker 2: strong playoff run. Goddard was a huge reason you won
- 18:11Speaker 2: the Super Bowl last year. Yes, I just don't think
- 18:14Speaker 2: there is really a middle ground. I think this is
- 18:16Speaker 2: they're due for a Hassan Reddick type of ending. I
- 18:19Speaker 2: think the Eagles want him to take the Josh Sweat
- 18:21Speaker 2: kind of pay cut last year, where it's a restructured
- 18:23Speaker 2: one year deal, and I don't think Goddard wants to
- 18:25Speaker 2: do that. And there's no guaranteed money left in his deal,
- 18:28Speaker 2: So is he going to risk at thirty years old
- 18:29Speaker 2: with his injury history playing on that deal this year,
- 18:32Speaker 2: I doubt it, and so I think both sides just
- 18:35Speaker 2: probably are looking to move on. And it stinks because
- 18:37Speaker 2: I think the Eagle is gonna be a worse team
- 18:38Speaker 2: for it. Yeah, I think they're better off at Dallas.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Godder on this team even if they miss if he
- 18:43Speaker 2: misses three to five games next year, they're still a
- 18:45Speaker 2: better team with him on the field.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Absolutely, And folks, I know that Lou has talked about
- 18:50Speaker 1: the tight end position on the Locked On Eagles podcast
