• 1:15
Speaker 2: It's just a little, you know if you see some bunny ears like this, bunny ears, well, there's probably going to be a lot of.
• 1:23
  Speaker 1: Easter's coming.
• 1:23
Speaker 1: It is right around the corner.
• 1:25
Speaker 1: So those aren't the bunny ears that I was thinking about.
• 1:29
Speaker 1: I was thinking about the things with the strap over the head, you know.
• 1:33
  Speaker 3: I've got those.
• 1:34
Speaker 1: I bet you do.
• 1:35
Speaker 2: And the little bunny tail, the little poofy bunny tail.
• 1:38
  Speaker 2: There you go.
• 1:39
Speaker 1: So let me tell you just a little bit about the Corvette Chevy Expo.
• 1:42
Speaker 1: This is the 46th edition and I was telling Jeff on the way here this is the same Corvette Expo.
• 1:49
Speaker 1: Well, not the same one.
• 1:51
Speaker 1: It's a good story Listen to this Corvette Chevy Expo that I first got the bug of joining clubs and showing the car and all that stuff 46 years ago at the Albert Thomas Convention Center in downtown Houston.
• 2:07
Speaker 1: It was our only convention center at the time, and so there was a fellow there, and I think that he was the one that started this.
• 2:14
Speaker 1: His name was Don Cooper and I had no clue what I was doing Not that I do today, but a little bit more school.
• 2:21
Speaker 1: You first taste of it, yeah.
• 2:22
Speaker 1: And so I had the 77 Corvette and I think that this was 78.
• 2:28
Speaker 1: Does that make sense?
• 2:29
Speaker 1: I don't know what it was, but anyway it was early on and I had a navy blue 77 Corvette.
• 2:38
Speaker 1: L82 with a four speed and, like I said, I knew no one.
• 2:43
  Speaker 1: No one there.
• 2:44
Speaker 1: And I saw a little bitty ad in the Houston Chronicle.
• 2:48
Speaker 1: It said Corvette Expo hey, I've got a Corvette.
• 2:52
Speaker 1: So I did some digging.
• 2:54
Speaker 1: Of course, back then it was everything.
• 2:56
Speaker 1: There was no internet, so we did everything by mail.
• 2:58
Speaker 1: So you have to send in a picture or two of the car because they didn't want junk in the show.
• 3:06
Speaker 1: And so I sent it in and I'm thinking well, I don't know if I'm going to get in or not, how would I know?
• 3:11
  Speaker 1: And then, I don't know.
• 3:12
Speaker 1: A couple of three weeks later I get a thing back in the mail says you're registered and all is good.
• 3:19
Speaker 2: Was there any cost to register at the time?
• 3:21
Speaker 1: Oh yeah 25 bucks or something, and Bill and Sharon Sites were there a long time.
• 3:27
Speaker 1: Friends, that's where I met them Right Right.
• 3:28
Speaker 1: Craig Beerman had a big display there.
• 3:31
  Speaker 1: I really didn't know him.
• 3:32
Speaker 2: Craig always has a display somewhere.
• 3:34
  Speaker 2: Display.
• 3:35
Speaker 1: But this one was his custom Bretro, whatever it was.
• 3:41
Speaker 1: Yeah, something there 60s Corvette, that was Pearl.
• 3:44
Speaker 2: White and the big blower on it.
• 3:46
  Speaker 1: Is that the?
• 3:47
Speaker 2: one that he almost ran somebody over or something.
• 3:48
Speaker 2: No, no, no, no.
• 3:49
Speaker 2: This is the long, long time.
• 3:50
Speaker 2: Okay, no, no, no.
• 3:52
Speaker 1: And he had it on guess what A turntable.
• 3:54
Speaker 1: So you go up the escalator, because this was on the second floor.
• 3:57
Speaker 1: You go up the escalator and once you get up to the top, at the end of the escalator, there's his car, right as you get off the escalator.
• 4:05
Speaker 1: Would you expect anything, prime?
• 4:08
  Speaker 2: real estate, yeah.
• 4:08
Speaker 2: Prime real estate, yeah for him, yeah absolutely so.
• 4:11
Speaker 1: That was my first experience and to continue that story, I have to tell you that I closed the doors, rolled up the window, closed the hood and walked everything up and walked away.
• 4:26
Speaker 1: And then at the end of the show, somebody said why did you do that?
• 4:29
Speaker 1: You could have won a trophy, Really.
• 4:34
Speaker 2: I didn't know how to show a car.
• 4:35
Speaker 1: Had no clue what many years later.
• 4:38
Speaker 2: But knowing you, everything was detailed under the hood.
• 4:40
  Speaker 2: Oh yeah, absolutely.
• 4:41
Speaker 2: The carpet was immaculate, with little lines on it.
• 4:43
  Speaker 2: Yeah, all that.
• 4:44
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I had it all cleaned up.
• 4:46
Speaker 1: It was looking good, had some rock chips in the paint, but hey, it was a driver.
• 4:50
Speaker 1: Yeah, it was, a driver Drove it every day, but at any rate.
• 4:52
Speaker 1: So that's my story about the first Corvette Expo.
• 4:55
Speaker 1: Now it's become the Corvette Chevy Expo and we are at the Galveston Island Convention Center, at the San Luis Resort, and if you want to come down here today, this would be a great.
• 5:07
Speaker 1: It's a rainy day outside Weather is clear.
• 5:09
Speaker 2: The weather is clearing because when we came down, we were chasing that cloud on the way down to the island.
• 5:14
Speaker 3: But, you caught it.
• 5:16
Speaker 1: Yeah, we caught the back end of it, but at any rate it's a great day for a car show.
• 5:20
Speaker 1: Didn't got anything else indoors.
• 5:22
  Speaker 1: It's indoors, absolutely.
• 5:23
Speaker 1: And I found out this morning talking to the girl there at the back door.
• 5:27
Speaker 1: She says oh yeah, well, you know there's the upstairs too.
• 5:30
Speaker 1: I said the upstairs.
• 5:32
Speaker 1: She said oh yeah, well, I got a lot of vendors up there.
• 5:34
Speaker 1: Well, who was to know?
• 5:36
  Speaker 1: I don't know.
• 5:38
Speaker 2: And you know at spring break people can come down.
• 5:40
Speaker 2: There's a nominal fee to get in and even if you do the show, you can walk the island, walks the strand, go get some seafood.
• 5:47
Speaker 2: Whatever the case, yeah, enjoy it.
• 5:48
Speaker 2: What Kelp, kelp, get some kelp or some kale.
• 5:53
  Speaker 1: Yeah, Kale.
• 5:54

• 5:59

Speaker 1: I assume it's what it looks like anyway.
• 6:19
  Speaker 1: Early 60s.
• 6:20
  Speaker 2: Mid 60s.
• 6:20
Speaker 2: Going for the wagon, the wagon is all over me.
• 6:23

Speaker 3: It didn't know it, that 72 back there.
• 6:27
  Speaker 3: Yeah, I changed.
• 6:28
Speaker 2: I changed some things up, but just it's the version of the wagon.
• 6:31
Speaker 1: Yeah it's going to.
• 6:32
Speaker 2: It would need a.
• 6:33
Speaker 1: Jeff, touch to it 454.
• 6:34
Speaker 1: In other words, it's got a 10,000 cubic inch engine in it.
• 6:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's carbureted.
• 6:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, if it had been a 350, I'd say we could get all of our stuff in the back of it.
• 6:43
Speaker 3: You know, get John to put a wrap on it.
• 6:45
Speaker 2: No, I'm thinking LS, tub it out and stay away from it.
• 6:48
Speaker 1: Well, for $42,000, which he's asking for 45,000.
• 6:51
  Speaker 1: , yeah, 45,000.

Speaker 1: It's some really good water it's going to be a best of show award, people's choice award and, of course, the president's award.
• 7:15
Speaker 2: I'm not sure what president, but somebody the president probably makes a decision on which one he likes Um large array of Chevrolet related products car parts, unique fines and crafts as well.
• 7:29
Speaker 1: So if the if the ladies don't really aren't into the cars and you got a husband, you let the husband do the car thing and you can go off and look at the crafts or go husband shopping.
• 7:41

• 7:56
Speaker 1: I could represent them, you could I could.
• 7:58
Speaker 2: I could have your Cadillac shirt.
• 8:00
Speaker 1: I draw Cadillac emblem on my arm and you get the tattoo right down the street, down there the tattoo booth, and I understand that at one o'clock today there's going to be some electrifying performances, one in three of some group.
• 8:17

Speaker 1: Here's a note from Mr oh, I can't read that on the air?
• 8:58
Speaker 2: No, but you're doing that.
• 8:59
Speaker 1: Yeah, we're getting trouble.

• 11:03
  Speaker 1: It's red Convertible.
• 11:05
Speaker 1: What do you think that?
• 11:07
Speaker 1: And it looks really good too.
• 11:08
Speaker 1: It could be all a total rust bucket underneath, we don't know, could be.
• 11:13
Speaker 1: What do you think a 67 Cadillac Deville would sell for?
• 11:16
Speaker 1: You want to go first this time.
• 11:19
Speaker 4: We'll have you go first again I want to go 11,000.
• 11:24
  Speaker 1: 11,000.
• 11:25

• 11:28
  Speaker 2: 9,000.
• 11:28
Speaker 2: I was thinking that too.
• 11:30
Speaker 4: All right, I think I'm going to go in the middle this time.

• 11:45
  Speaker 1: Next page.
• 11:46
Speaker 1: Okay, this one here.
• 11:48
Speaker 1: Not that I would ever go this route, but somebody thought hmm, it's a project.
• 11:55
  Speaker 1: It's.
• 11:56
Speaker 1: Why is it a project?
• 11:57
Speaker 1: Because it is a Triumph TR6.
• 12:03
  Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, okay.
• 12:05
  Speaker 1: A 76 Triumph TR6.
• 12:07
  Speaker 1: Clearly a convertible.
• 12:08
Speaker 1: It's a sun-faded red with a raggedy black top on it.
• 12:13
  Speaker 1: What do?
• 12:14
Speaker 2: you think that that sold for?
• 12:15
Speaker 2: Okay, the car is four grand and the tow truck is 12.

• 12:31
Speaker 1: Well, let me tell you something I wouldn't give you a dollar there you go See.
• 12:36
Speaker 1: Okay, so the 76 Triumph TR6 sold for $7,000.
• 12:40
Speaker 1: Oh wow, all right, the trailer would be worth more.
• 12:44
Speaker 1: Okay, here's something that everybody can relate to.
• 12:47
Speaker 1: It's that beigey kind of off-white 1965 Ford Mustang, and this is the Coupe hardtop.
• 12:56
Speaker 1: What do you think a 65 Mustang would sell for?
• 12:59
Speaker 1: Now, I don't think that this is a show car quality, although it's on somebody's showroom when they took the picture of it.
• 13:05
  Speaker 1: Okay.
• 13:06
Speaker 1: But I'm giving you a hint here, because I've seen some of these cars go for tens and tens of thousands of dollars.
• 13:14
Speaker 1: Okay, well, I wouldn't say that this was that.
• 13:17
Speaker 1: I would say that this is more of a weekend driver.
• 13:20
Speaker 1: It's clean looking, but it could be a rust bucket underneath.
• 13:24
Speaker 2: What do you think that that's?
• 13:24
  Speaker 2: But it's had a dealership.
• 13:26
  Speaker 1: Well, it's a showroom.
• 13:27
  Speaker 2: Showroom.
• 13:28
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to go 22.
• 13:32
  Speaker 2: 22.
• 13:32
  Speaker 2: That's my number.
• 13:35
Speaker 1: Okay, well, you can go 22,000.
• 13:38
  Speaker 4: I'm going to go 23.
• 13:39
  Speaker 1: 23.
• 13:40
  Speaker 4: I was actually thinking 25.
• 13:42
Speaker 1: Well, it sold for 1837.
• 13:45
Speaker 2: Oh, I did go over.
• 13:46
Speaker 1: See, you know, I guess one of the fun things about doing this is the fact that you get an idea of what these things actually sold for, right, sure, okay, how about?
• 13:58
  Speaker 1: Okay, this would be for Mars, a 1999 Mercedes-Benz E320.
• 14:07
Speaker 1: Now, this is a station wagon.
• 14:08
Speaker 1: It's black, looks completely stock and wore out, but it's, it's a black Mercedes, okay.
• 14:15
  Speaker 2: What year?
• 14:15
  Speaker 2: Again it's a 99.
• 14:17
  Speaker 2: , 99.
• 14:18
  Speaker 2: , 99.
• 14:18
Speaker 1: So let's just think of it.
• 14:20
Speaker 1: As you know, probably a one owner, that's, I'm guessing, let me think probably has at least 50,000 or 100,000 miles on it somewhere in there.
• 14:31
Speaker 2: He's giving you tips from the audience.
• 14:32
Speaker 2: I saw that over there.
• 14:34
Speaker 2: We'll let you go first, he knows better than me.
• 14:36
Speaker 4: Okay, so he's saying nine.
• 14:38
  Speaker 2: I'm going to go 85.
• 14:39
  Speaker 2: 12,000.
• 14:40
  Speaker 2: Michael.
• 14:43
  Speaker 1: He's Michael, says 10.
• 14:44
  Speaker 1: It's sold for 14.
• 14:46
Speaker 1: So it must be really really, really clean or something, I don't know.
• 14:51
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true, premium we we we?
• 14:54
Speaker 1: you weren't here, but we were talking about a station wagon on the way here.
• 14:57
Speaker 1: It's parked in a driveway right down the street here.
• 15:00
  Speaker 1: What do you?
• 15:01
Speaker 1: What would you guess that was?
• 15:02
  Speaker 1: I'd say a 99.
• 15:03
  Speaker 1: Well, I think it was like a high 80s 87.
• 15:05
  Speaker 1: 87.
• 15:06
Speaker 1: Okay, but it was a Buick estate wagon, okay, and it had the the application sticker paneling on the on the side of it and we were trying to guess.
• 15:17
Speaker 1: not that it's for sale, we were trying to guess where do you buy that today?
• 15:20
Speaker 1: And we came up with either Walmart sticker on the side of it with the wood paneling or some old, going out of business ace hardware store in the shelf paper department.
• 15:31
Speaker 2: If you buy the contact paper, you get 10 pounds of nails free.
• 15:37
  Speaker 1: Here's one.
• 15:38
  Speaker 1: This would be.
• 15:41
Speaker 1: This would be a good one for your mom.
• 15:43
Speaker 1: Okay, 1958 Chevy Del Rey, which is you know, it's a, it's a four door sedan, but it's it's pretty clean.
• 15:54
Speaker 1: I mean looking got big white, whites on it.
• 15:57
Speaker 1: It's a medium blue, kind of like Richard Petty blue.
• 16:01
Speaker 1: What do you think that that would sell for?
• 16:03
Speaker 1: Yes, Okay, what do you think?
• 16:11
  Speaker 4: I'll do 25.
• 16:12
  Speaker 1: 25 32.
• 16:13
  Speaker 1: , 32.
• 16:14
  Speaker 1: David, 29.
• 16:19
  Speaker 1: , 14.
• 16:20
Speaker 1: Seven, and you know, part of the reason that I say this is because so you go to the Mika auction.
• 16:25
Speaker 1: Okay, and I know, because I've been to the Mika auction, that there are cars that are really, really nice, that sell for what they're worth or more, because there's that one guy out there every once in a while that goes I've got to have that car and he bids it up.
• 16:41
Speaker 1: But there are also those cars that you go, man, you know, I would really like to have that car and then the thing sells for like 10 grand.
• 16:49
  Speaker 1: You're going, that's me.
• 16:50
  Speaker 1: Why didn't I registered?
• 16:52
Speaker 1: I would have, I would have spent 10 grand on it.
• 16:54
Speaker 1: Because there are those cars there.
• 16:55
Speaker 2: Now, the last time Mika was on TV I watched the Thursday edition that started out of the kick in and off and that's where they have the like, the daily drivers, the lower end of auction vehicles, and those are the dream for me, because there was stuff for an across there that I want it, I want it, I want it.
• 17:12
Speaker 2: You know you could spend 50 grand and get you know five cars.
• 17:16
  Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely.
• 17:17
Speaker 4: We'd like to have a little bit for everyone, Well here's one for you.
• 17:20
Speaker 1: that's a little bit over and above all of that, but I'm looking at a 1971 Plymouth scamp.
• 17:30
  Speaker 2: Remember the scam?
• 17:31
Speaker 2: That was my nickname.
• 17:35
  Speaker 1: The Plymouth scam.
• 17:36
Speaker 1: It kind of looks like a duster.
• 17:37
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 17:38
Speaker 1: Okay, it's got you know the hood scoop on it.
• 17:41
Speaker 1: Okay, it's lime green.
• 17:42
Speaker 1: It's got the the bumblebee stripe around the tail end of it.
• 17:45
  Speaker 1: 71 Plymouth scam.
• 17:47
Speaker 1: Then we'll be done with this.
• 17:48
Speaker 1: What do you think?
• 17:49
Speaker 1: Any ideas Guessing 11.
• 17:53
  Speaker 2: 5000.
• 17:54
  Speaker 4: 16.
• 17:56
  Speaker 1: 16.
• 17:56
Speaker 4: We'll go with that, okay, 16.
• 17:58
Speaker 4: What do you think?
• 17:58
  Speaker 1: 11.
• 17:59
  Speaker 1: 11.
• 17:59
  Speaker 1: David, I'm at five 21,000.
• 18:01
  Speaker 1: Wow.
• 18:02
  Speaker 2: Closest.
• 18:03
Speaker 2: Yeah, well it it it presents.
• 18:05
Speaker 1: Well, again, we don't.
• 18:07
Speaker 1: We don't look underneath it or anything like that.
• 18:09
Speaker 1: But anyway, it's a fun little thing that we do.
• 18:12
Speaker 2: And that's the thing with with the Mika Moxons, you can actually go around and look underneath and take a little mirror and you know, if they allow you to put a magnet on it.
• 18:21
Speaker 2: I don't know if they do that, but a magnet, yeah To check.
• 18:24
Speaker 4: Yeah, you're all on display there.

• 22:58
Speaker 1: Whatever we know that you love Formula One.
• 23:03
Speaker 1: I'm not a Formula One fan, and it's all because of them, we know it really hurts you to even use those words.
• 23:07
  Speaker 2: I know.
• 23:08
Speaker 1: All right Time now for this hour's car review.
• 23:10
Speaker 1: Mr Mars has a review of the Ram 1500.
• 23:14
Speaker 3: Yeah, it is actually the 2023 Ram 1500.
• 23:18
Speaker 3: And they kept it in the fleet long time because everybody was wanting to get a hand from the fleet of what?
• 23:24
Speaker 3: Oh, in the press fleet.
• 23:24
Speaker 3: Excuse me, it's because everybody was wanting to get a hold of this vehicle and we had.
• 23:29
Speaker 3: It comes in seven trim levels, starting with the tradesman, which is going to be your basic work truck.
• 23:33
Speaker 3: Then it goes up through the Big Horn Lone Star, which are technically the same things the Big Horn's Lone Star in Texas, laramie Rebel, the Limited, longhorn, the Limited and then the Hot Rod TRX.
• 23:44
Speaker 3: We had the Limited Elite Crew Cab 4x4.
• 23:48
Speaker 3: Now the Elite is a new sub trim level, if you will, that's available for the Limited and this is a full size pickup.
• 23:55
Speaker 3: It's got five passengers in it.
• 23:58
Speaker 3: This trim level again is new for 2023.
• 24:00
Speaker 3: So it's got the LED lighting all the way around headlights, tail lights, etc.
• 24:05
Speaker 3: But it also found that it had a LED light in the tailgate latch compartment that shines down on the trailer hitch so that you can see whenever you're hooking up your trailer.
• 24:16
Speaker 3: I thought it was really cool.
• 24:18
Speaker 3: Got the multifunctional tailgate.
• 24:20
Speaker 3: It locks whenever you lock.
• 24:21
  Speaker 3: Everything else.
• 24:22
Speaker 3: It's got the dampening system that comes down on it.
• 24:24
Speaker 3: The power tailgate release, that kind of lowers.
• 24:27
Speaker 3: It Doesn't make it go back up but it will lower.
• 24:30
Speaker 3: It makes it nice and convenient.
• 24:31
Speaker 3: The power running boards.
• 24:33
Speaker 3: My wife really liked the power running boards.
• 24:35
Speaker 3: For one thing they came out long.
• 24:37
Speaker 3: Your wife is only four foot 11, so she needs them.
• 24:40
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but it's got a wide step on it and it comes way out and it's quick.
• 24:44
Speaker 3: We are rolling on some 20 by three inch aluminum wheels really nice looking.
• 24:48
Speaker 3: And we had the trailer tow group.
• 24:51
Speaker 3: Now this includes the reverse steering system that's mounted in the dash so that you can tell the trailer, tell the computer, which way you want to go and it'll turn the steering wheel accordingly to make the trailer go the direction you need.
• 25:04
Speaker 3: Now inside we were in the limiter, you got to remember.
• 25:06
Speaker 3: So we had the Elite package.
• 25:07
Speaker 3: So we had the premium leather seating, had a digital rearview mirror, we had the heads up display.
• 25:12
Speaker 3: The front seats are heated and ventilated.
• 25:14
Speaker 3: The rear seats were ventilated.
• 25:15
Speaker 3: They weren't heated but they were ventilated.
• 25:16
Speaker 3: We had the Uconnect system, which I dearly love the way it works.
• 25:20
Speaker 3: We had the big 12 inch display for the it.
• 25:22
Speaker 3: We found that's where you get your Uconnect, the infotainment system, the nav, convenience controls, all your inside pieces for that.
• 25:29
Speaker 3: We also had the 12 inch digital gauge cluster which can format the things that you want for the driver that you can see up front on.
• 25:37
Speaker 3: It works out really well, particularly with the heads up display.
• 25:40
Speaker 3: We had the 19 speaker, hardened carbon, premium sound system.
• 25:44
Speaker 3: That would literally you could almost think you could almost make that cab expand.
• 25:48
Speaker 3: With the thump thump, thump thump, you could almost bring Jimmy Buffett back.
• 25:51
  Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 25:52
Speaker 3: Wireless charger, apple CarPlay, android Auto all those good things and plenty of places to plug your stuff in.
• 25:57
Speaker 3: Now we had the 5.7 liter Hemi with the e-torque system up front under the hood.
• 26:05
Speaker 3: Can't get that anymore.
• 26:07
Speaker 3: Has 395 horsepower, 410 pound feet of torque.
• 26:12
Speaker 3: And I do like the e-torque system.
• 26:14
Speaker 3: I was well impressed with it when I first ran across it.
• 26:18
Speaker 3: The tow rating on this vehicle probably equipped with this tow package 11,470 pounds.
• 26:23
Speaker 3: Haul rating 1,990 pounds in a half ton truck.
• 26:28
Speaker 3: It's got a haul on it, got the air suspension all the way around.
• 26:33
Speaker 3: The e-torque system helps with the acceleration.
• 26:36
Speaker 3: You're not going to find a whole lot better.
• 26:38
Speaker 3: Base model price on this vehicle is $42,155.
• 26:42
Speaker 3: Base trim price is $68,145.
• 26:45
Speaker 3: Our MSRP is tested $79,165 for a really nice truck.
• 26:50
Speaker 3: Runs up against the Supercab, ford F-150, the Chevy Silverado 1500, toyota Tundra and it'd be a tough choice between all of them if you're looking for a truck in that caliber.
• 27:00
  Speaker 3: Wow.
