- 1:30Speaker 2: All right, it is Wednesday. It is 8 a.m., so
- 1:33Speaker 2: you know what that means.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Our guy, Dr.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Stephen Attridge, is going to join us. He hit the
- 1:37Speaker 2: road with us.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Yeah, he did.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Today, Doc, always a pleasure. We appreciate you being flexible,
- 1:41Speaker 4: hanging out with us here in the garage.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Yeah, this place is great. This is the first time
- 1:44Speaker 2: I've been here.
- 1:45Speaker 1: And I told you, right before you sat down, I said,
- 1:48Speaker 1: Comfortable setup. Comfortable couch. But when you're on camera, kind
- 1:52Speaker 1: of hard to look comfortable while being comfortable.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Because you want to lean forward?
- 1:56Speaker 1: You kind of want to lean forward. It's like, what's
- 1:59Speaker 1: going to get rid of the double chin? How are
- 2:02Speaker 1: we going to look good?
- 2:03Speaker 2: I stopped worrying about stuff like that.
- 2:04Speaker 1: At least I don't have the short shorts to worry
- 2:06Speaker 1: about this time.
- 2:08Speaker 4: Last time, Doc, he wore shorts that were so short
- 2:10Speaker 4: that he had to go get a blanket out of
- 2:12Speaker 4: the basket and cover himself.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I wore the five-inch inseams last time.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Five is doing some heavy lifting. More like three and
- 2:19Speaker 2: a half.
- 2:19Speaker 1: At least a seven.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Those are three and a half. Those were boxers. Oh, yeah.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Junk was out.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I can see how that would be problematic.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly. Before we get to anything, Doc, I think.
- 2:31Speaker 4: We have some news that we're able to share, correct?
- 2:34Speaker 2: Yes, sir. Let's give a round of applause to the
- 2:36Speaker 2: new dad.
- 2:37Speaker 1: All right. Here we go.
- 2:39Speaker 2: That's right. He was here last time, but it was
- 2:43Speaker 2: kind of early. I wish I had the green light. Oh, look, look.
- 2:45Speaker 4: We are not giving the okay until Mama says we
- 2:48Speaker 4: got the okay.
- 2:49Speaker 2: We got that. So congratulations.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 2:52Speaker 4: What a blessing. Everything's good. Everybody's healthy. All things moving
- 2:57Speaker 4: in the right direction.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Everything's good. It came a little early, so they spent
- 2:59Speaker 2: a little extra time.
- 3:00Speaker 5: But we've been home over a week now, and he
- 3:03Speaker 5: was kind enough to come early to get.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Me ready for the season. I actually think– I thought
- 3:07Speaker 4: that was big. You owe him a lot already.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I do. I do.
- 3:11Speaker 4: First birthday present is going to have to be pretty
- 3:13Speaker 4: baller because he came before football season.
- 3:15Speaker 5: It was because actually we were originally scheduled for a
- 3:18Speaker 5: C-section yesterday. It would have been a little bit of
- 3:21Speaker 5: a chaotic week.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Hey, babe.
- 3:25Speaker 4: I know he's like three days old, but I got
- 3:27Speaker 4: to go to Tiger Stadium all day.
- 3:30Speaker 5: See you when I get back at 2 a.m. I
- 3:32Speaker 5: will say my wife, she– Actually, probably later for you.
- 3:35Speaker 5: She was very clear with our OB that, hey, this
- 3:38Speaker 5: had to happen by a certain day, that I had
- 3:40Speaker 5: to be at the game.
- 3:41Speaker 2: So the blessing was already there in advance.
- 3:43Speaker 5: Now, granted, that was, you know, well before, and I'm
- 3:46Speaker 5: sure it might have looked a little different this week,
- 3:48Speaker 5: you know, with a newborn that's only a couple days old.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Right.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Rhett just said, you know what, Dad? I got you.
- 3:53Speaker 2: He did.
- 3:55Speaker 1: You got to have the baby by this point because
- 3:56Speaker 1: I might have some new player physicals to be given
- 3:59Speaker 1: out the week of the first game.
- 4:00Speaker 2: You said it, man. They're coming, apparently.
- 4:02Speaker 1: You said it, man.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I guess we'll find that out today.
- 4:05Speaker 4: What is game week like for you, for your staff,
- 4:09Speaker 4: your team? You know, the team just went through like
- 4:15Speaker 4: a mock game on Saturday. And I actually, I thought
- 4:18Speaker 4: it was something that was a smart idea just because
- 4:21Speaker 4: there's so many guys, coaches and players that haven't been here.
- 4:24Speaker 4: And Tiger Stadium's a lot. There's a lot that goes
- 4:26Speaker 4: into it. There's a lot of traditions that you're supposed
- 4:29Speaker 4: to know. And, well, if you had never done it,
- 4:30Speaker 4: like walking down Victory Hill. And there was people that
- 4:34Speaker 4: were there, which is so LSU. The fans were like,
- 4:37Speaker 4: we want to be there. I told everybody, though, that
- 4:40Speaker 4: hadn't been here.
- 4:40Speaker 1: And they were like, that is so cool. I go,
- 4:42Speaker 1: just wait.
- 4:43Speaker 4: It's going to be like 38 deep when you walk
- 4:45Speaker 4: down that hill for game day.
- 4:47Speaker 2: But they did all of that. I mean, everything. They
- 4:49Speaker 2: had the announcer in the stadium.
- 4:50Speaker 4: I mean, every part of the game they wanted to
- 4:52Speaker 4: walk through so they weren't shocked on Saturday.
- 4:55Speaker 2: What about for you and your team? How do you
- 4:56Speaker 2: get ready for game day? Well, you know, one, I
- 4:58Speaker 2: think the event was great.
- 5:01Speaker 5: You know, at first when they told me they were
- 5:02Speaker 5: going to do this and we were going to go
- 5:03Speaker 5: down the Victory Hill and all this stuff, I'm kind
- 5:05Speaker 5: of like, really, we're going to do all that?
- 5:06Speaker 2: It actually, I think, went well.
- 5:07Speaker 5: I mean, they even had– in one of the TV timeouts,
- 5:10Speaker 5: they had the TV timeout. They had the guy in
- 5:12Speaker 5: the red hat out there. He's a very wonderful human being,
- 5:15Speaker 5: but I hate seeing him because I hate the delays.
- 5:16Speaker 2: I tell him every time I see him. I love him.
- 5:18Speaker 2: He's a great guy.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Great guy.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I hate seeing him. I hate seeing him on the field.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Nothing personal.
- 5:22Speaker 2: But they had the TV timeout.
- 5:23Speaker 5: They brought the footballs out and had the people doing
- 5:25Speaker 5: the competition to throw it in the little bucket, whatever.
- 5:29Speaker 5: They were literally game day. So it was a good event,
- 5:32Speaker 5: and I do think, A, it's having some new guys.
- 5:35Speaker 5: But even for the players– Just to kind of get
- 5:36Speaker 5: back in the swing of it, it was a great idea. But, yeah,
- 5:39Speaker 5: for us, the week, you know, obviously we're addressing any injuries.
- 5:43Speaker 5: We're trying to figure out is this something where they
- 5:45Speaker 5: can go. And then as we get closer and closer
- 5:47Speaker 5: to game day, it's what can we do for game
- 5:48Speaker 5: day prep. You know, some of the guys, early in
- 5:51Speaker 5: the year, it's so hot, you know, we're going to
- 5:52Speaker 5: consider doing some pregame, you know, hydration with the IVs.
- 5:55Speaker 5: Not that they're not well hydrated to begin with.
- 5:57Speaker 4: But definitely, I think they might be the most hydrated
- 6:00Speaker 4: team in the country.
- 6:01Speaker 5: I think they probably are. But, you know, sometimes, you know,
- 6:04Speaker 5: when it's that hot, everybody needs a little help.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:06Speaker 5: So looking at that, looking at guys like, hey, is
- 6:08Speaker 5: there something we need to do for this guy before
- 6:10Speaker 5: the game, some kind of treatments or things like that.
- 6:13Speaker 5: And then also just kind of where are we going
- 6:15Speaker 5: to set up with each new staff. We have to
- 6:17Speaker 5: learn a little bit different. Coach Kiffin wants a little
- 6:20Speaker 5: bit different setup in the locker room than previous coaches wanted,
- 6:23Speaker 5: and we have to kind of figure out who he
- 6:25Speaker 5: wants where and what they don't want. Sometimes I know
- 6:28Speaker 5: that this group is going to be a little bit
- 6:29Speaker 5: more of a locked-down locker room.
- 6:31Speaker 2: They're going to have it a little bit more restricted.
- 6:33Speaker 5: And so kind of figuring out is there going to
- 6:35Speaker 5: be any problems with us getting the things we need
- 6:36Speaker 5: and how do we go about all that. So I
- 6:38Speaker 5: think it was even good for us, even though I've
- 6:40Speaker 5: been here 15 years now, and it's different. This year
- 6:43Speaker 5: is different than any other year I've been here, and
- 6:44Speaker 5: every time we get a new regime.
- 6:45Speaker 2: That's kind of what happens. Well, Lane said that, just different. Yeah,
- 6:49Speaker 2: it's just different.
- 6:49Speaker 1: There we go. There you go. Trademark, hashtag, whatever. Okay,
- 6:56Speaker 1: new coaching staff, of course. Is there a, and you
- 6:58Speaker 1: kind of talked about differences between coaches, how coaches want
- 7:02Speaker 1: different things. What's the community game day communication like in
- 7:05Speaker 1: real time during the game? Do does, and I'm sure
- 7:09Speaker 1: every coach is a little bit different how he, maybe
- 7:12Speaker 1: some coaches want to talk directly to the doctors. Maybe
- 7:14Speaker 1: there's a middle person. Have y'all kind of walked through
- 7:17Speaker 1: or had a meeting about how that game day during
- 7:20Speaker 1: in game conversation goes?
- 7:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:23Speaker 5: And we have, and in my experience, whatever that conversation
- 7:26Speaker 5: is always changes at the game, especially the first few games,
- 7:30Speaker 5: you know, you know, it's, it's, But we do have
- 7:31Speaker 5: the conversation.
- 7:32Speaker 2: We plan it out.
- 7:33Speaker 5: We at least kind of know how he wants things done.
- 7:35Speaker 5: With each coach, it is different. The way that it
- 7:37Speaker 5: was with Miles was a little bit different than it
- 7:39Speaker 5: was with O. It was a little different with Kelly.
- 7:41Speaker 5: And it's going to be a little different with Kiffin.
- 7:43Speaker 5: So we've had some meetings in the offseason. How do
- 7:45Speaker 5: you want it during the game? How do you want
- 7:47Speaker 5: us to handle– we do an injury report on Sundays
- 7:50Speaker 5: after the games where we're up there and we go
- 7:51Speaker 5: through it. Do you want us to come up to
- 7:52Speaker 5: your office? Do you want us just to give it
- 7:53Speaker 5: to the trainer? So each coach kind of has their
- 7:56Speaker 5: own way that they do it. So we have to
- 7:58Speaker 5: kind of go through that. And like I said, I
- 8:00Speaker 5: think– we always find it shifts a little bit after
- 8:02Speaker 5: these first two games, you know, once you kind of
- 8:03Speaker 5: get in the real setting.
- 8:04Speaker 1: It might have shifted on who the player is as well.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and 100%.
- 8:07Speaker 1: You know, 100%.
- 8:08Speaker 5: You know, are we going to have a coach come
- 8:09Speaker 5: barging in the tent, or are they going to just
- 8:11Speaker 5: kind of hang out and wait?
- 8:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:13Speaker 2: I think it does matter who the player is. There
- 8:15Speaker 2: is some difference for sure. Was that the Giants last year?
- 8:17Speaker 5: Yeah, that's where I was referencing the.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Yeah, it was Dayball. That's what I said. It kind
- 8:22Speaker 1: of depends on the player. You're starting quarterback. You're front
- 8:26Speaker 1: kicking the door of that tent.
- 8:26Speaker 5: I don't think he's barging in the tent with every player,
- 8:28Speaker 5: but– But, no, in all sincerity, yeah, we work on
- 8:32Speaker 5: that stuff. And there will be some wrinkles, even though
- 8:35Speaker 5: we do our best. Just like anything, you know, any
- 8:37Speaker 5: game plan, you know, all teams are a little sloppy
- 8:39Speaker 5: out of the gate. You know, the first weeks are
- 8:41Speaker 5: always a little bit.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Not LSU. Not us, yeah.
- 8:43Speaker 5: Everybody else will be. But we'll find a few things
- 8:46Speaker 5: that we need to probably tinker with. But we have
- 8:48Speaker 5: a good idea of how they want it, and we'll
- 8:50Speaker 5: go from there.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Knock on wood.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Relatively healthy, too, like training camp.
- 8:56Speaker 4: A lot of times training camp, no matter what level
- 8:58Speaker 4: you're on, you've got a lot of stuff, and there's
- 9:00Speaker 4: going to be stuff.
- 9:01Speaker 2: But it feels like because everybody's goal is.
- 9:04Speaker 4: To escape training camp without just a laundry list of injuries,
- 9:08Speaker 4: it feels like whatever process they had to go out
- 9:11Speaker 4: there in the offseason to get ready for training camp,
- 9:14Speaker 4: it seemed like it worked because you didn't have a
- 9:16Speaker 4: laundry list of injuries.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I think a big part of it is preparation.
- 9:20Speaker 5: I think Coach Savage and these guys have done a
- 9:22Speaker 5: great job getting these guys ready even before camp. Because
- 9:26Speaker 5: I will say, I think we talked about it last week,
- 9:27Speaker 5: but camp was intense. This was not a soft camp.
- 9:29Speaker 5: They were going at it. And when you see that,
- 9:32Speaker 5: you do worry a little bit more about injury.
- 9:33Speaker 2: That's just part of it.
- 9:34Speaker 5: There's that balance we talked about last week between going
- 9:36Speaker 5: hard enough to get prepared, but also you don't want
- 9:39Speaker 5: guys hurt.
- 9:40Speaker 2: And we did come through this one pretty good. We
- 9:42Speaker 2: have a few things. You're going to get that.
- 9:44Speaker 5: You're not going to come through camp completely clean. But
- 9:47Speaker 5: I think all said and done, I've got to give
- 9:49Speaker 5: a lot of credit to the staff. And I guess
- 9:51Speaker 5: some of it is always going to be luck, too.
- 9:52Speaker 5: You get a little lucky sometimes. You can do everything
- 9:54Speaker 5: right and still have a bad injury. But they did
- 9:57Speaker 5: a good job with the prep. The guys, a lot
- 9:58Speaker 5: of testament to the players though, too. They took the
- 10:00Speaker 5: offseason serious. I was up there in the summer. They
- 10:03Speaker 5: were getting after it even before camp started.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Let's talk about your interaction with players during a game.
- 10:11Speaker 1: And let's talk specifically with concussions because that's probably a
- 10:15Speaker 1: lot of interaction you're going to have.
- 10:16Speaker 2: A lot of people watching.
- 10:17Speaker 1: The team... for LSU, the spotters, the whoever, like of
- 10:24Speaker 1: trying to determine what somebody that might have a concussion
- 10:29Speaker 1: or might've had a heart hit, um, watching different body
- 10:32Speaker 1: language on the, on the sideline, how big is that team?
- 10:34Speaker 1: And then my second, second question on that is how
- 10:38Speaker 1: is that determined when it's testing? Is there baseline testing
- 10:41Speaker 1: that goes in from the cognitive function from how you
- 10:44Speaker 1: track a finger? Like all the, is there a baseline
- 10:47Speaker 1: that you have on all these players? um, that you
- 10:49Speaker 1: can kind of refer to like in game in real time.
- 10:53Speaker 2: There, there is. And so, so you're right.
- 10:55Speaker 5: Concussion is probably the one that's the hardest for us
- 10:58Speaker 5: to manage because on the one hand, you know, some
- 11:00Speaker 5: of these guys don't have a concussion and they want
- 11:04Speaker 5: to play and they don't want, they don't want to
- 11:06Speaker 5: waste their time talking to me as the way they see.
- 11:07Speaker 5: And I get that. And they're angry and they're, they're
- 11:10Speaker 5: agitated because, because you know, you know, the sideline, the
- 11:12Speaker 5: adrenaline is high.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:13Speaker 5: And so I've had players get mad at me. And I,
- 11:15Speaker 5: and so one, we try to prep them in the
- 11:17Speaker 5: off season. You know, we have a, Meeting a couple
- 11:19Speaker 5: times a year, times where I get in front of
- 11:20Speaker 5: the team and we present some information and other things
- 11:22Speaker 5: to them. And that's one thing that's always something like, listen, guys,
- 11:25Speaker 5: I don't want to keep you out any more than
- 11:26Speaker 5: you want to be out. But you've got to let
- 11:28Speaker 5: me do my job so that you can do yours.
- 11:30Speaker 5: And I will say most of the guys understand that,
- 11:31Speaker 5: especially today's day and age. They've been educated. They understand, look,
- 11:34Speaker 5: this is just the way the game is. We do
- 11:36Speaker 5: have baseline testing that we do. We use a program
- 11:39Speaker 5: called C3 Logics. It's been used pretty widely across a
- 11:42Speaker 5: lot of college football and in the NFL. it's, it's,
- 11:44Speaker 5: it's a iPad based program where it measures, you know,
- 11:47Speaker 5: your balance, your reaction time, all these things. And we
- 11:49Speaker 5: do get a baseline now at the same time, it
- 11:51Speaker 5: takes about 20 or 30 minutes. So you have to decide,
- 11:54Speaker 5: are we at that level? Because a lot of times
- 11:55Speaker 5: you still have to make that sideline assessment.
- 11:57Speaker 1: And look, you're right.
- 11:58Speaker 2: All eyes are on us.
- 11:59Speaker 5: You know, I had one where we had an athlete
- 12:01Speaker 5: a couple of years ago that had what was not
- 12:03Speaker 5: a concussion. We knew it wasn't a concussion, but he
- 12:06Speaker 5: came off the sideline and they're like.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Look, we got to make it look good.
- 12:08Speaker 5: So we were trying to do a quick little concussion
- 12:10Speaker 5: screen and it was injury. We knew when a concussion
- 12:12Speaker 5: talking with them, it wasn't even a head impact. And
- 12:14Speaker 5: then got torched for it on social media because, like,
- 12:17Speaker 5: did you see how quick they did that?
- 12:18Speaker 2: That was a blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, listen, y'all,
- 12:21Speaker 2: you know, sometimes you don't know what's going on. But,
- 12:23Speaker 2: of course, we're subject to it just like the players are.
- 12:25Speaker 5: And for me, that was kind of like, okay, well,
- 12:27Speaker 5: I guess from now on, that's when we're going to
- 12:29Speaker 5: have to bring in the tent. So we learned that
- 12:31Speaker 5: just because, you know, the scrutiny that came from it.
- 12:33Speaker 5: But also there should be some because, you know, I
- 12:35Speaker 5: need to do my job right. If I am doing
- 12:37Speaker 5: a bad job, then I don't need to be out there.
- 12:40Speaker 5: So it was kind of a catch-22 where I'm like, okay,
- 12:42Speaker 5: I understand where these people are coming from, but you
- 12:44Speaker 5: also– don't know what was going on.
- 12:46Speaker 2: I was trying to make it look good, and so
- 12:49Speaker 2: it made it worse.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Right.
- 12:52Speaker 2: So, yeah, you're right. We have to kind of follow
- 12:53Speaker 2: these protocols.
- 12:54Speaker 5: We have these things, and sometimes you've got to bring
- 12:56Speaker 5: them in the locker room because that sideline is so
- 12:58Speaker 5: loud and crazy and chaotic. So if I'm really worried
- 13:00Speaker 5: about a guy, I can't do a great assessment. So
- 13:02Speaker 5: you've got to kind of figure it all out, and
- 13:04Speaker 5: it's not easy. Doc, this is very important. What number
- 13:09Speaker 5: did you wear at Florida State? So at Florida State,
- 13:12Speaker 5: I was 37.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Okay, good. I thought you were about to say 39.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I was going through really bad about our conversation.
- 13:17Speaker 1: That we had right before you got here.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I was 32 in high school, 37 there. So
- 13:22Speaker 2: I always liked the 30s if I could get in
- 13:24Speaker 2: for some reason. That was, you know, good. Well, as
- 13:26Speaker 2: long as it wasn't something that ended in a nine. Yeah, yeah,
- 13:29Speaker 2: nine's not the number typically. Single nine works. Single nine, yeah.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Single nine plays, but I'm with you.
- 13:34Speaker 1: 99 plays. I think you said it. 99 plays.
- 13:37Speaker 2: 99, yeah. You got to dial, like, you were in 99, though.
- 13:40Speaker 2: You got to be a dog.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know if you heard, but I'm not
- 13:43Speaker 1: sure I got some bad news today.
- 13:45Speaker 5: Yeah, I came in on that. You know, 19, that's rough.
- 13:48Speaker 5: I mean, it was a great year, but probably not
- 13:51Speaker 5: a great football night.
- 13:51Speaker 1: It was a great year. It certainly was. Very good year.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Outside of that.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Outside of that, I'm with you. Not a whole lot. Doc,
- 13:56Speaker 1: you just talked about the tents, the sideline tents. Do
- 14:02Speaker 1: people pee in the tents? Yes. Yes. That's what I thought.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Did y'all pee in the tent when you were in? So, no.
- 14:10Speaker 2: In San Diego, you would get the trainers to put
- 14:13Speaker 2: the towels around you.
- 14:14Speaker 1: That was it?
- 14:16Speaker 4: Yeah, they caught our kicker one time, and the broadcast
- 14:19Speaker 4: didn't get off of him.
- 14:20Speaker 1: We're like, what are they doing? What are y'all doing, y'all?
- 14:23Speaker 2: I never did because I was like, I'm not doing that.
- 14:25Speaker 2: I go to the locker room. But, I mean, when
- 14:28Speaker 2: we're well hydrated sometimes, you've got to go.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Occupational hazard.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Well, the tent makes all the sense in the world.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Tent makes sense.
- 14:34Speaker 5: We actually have a separate tent that is just for
- 14:36Speaker 5: that purpose as well, a smaller one.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Is it a bag that they pee in? Yeah, usually
- 14:40Speaker 2: they have something to go in.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Because in Green Bay we would have, you'd go into
- 14:43Speaker 1: the tent, and at that time it wasn't as big
- 14:45Speaker 1: as it was now. It was shorter. So you'd have to, like,
- 14:48Speaker 1: take a knee. Yeah. And but they had like these
- 14:50Speaker 1: pee bags. But I saw somebody do it in preseason.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Put a like a Home Depot bucket with kitty litter.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Are you serious?
- 14:59Speaker 2: I mean, it works.
- 15:00Speaker 1: That's fair, I guess. Yeah, that's what it's made for.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I did see a video out of preseason, like some
- 15:05Speaker 1: guy getting dragged because he came out of the tent like.
- 15:10Speaker 1: pulling up his pants, like, kind of, and he had
- 15:12Speaker 1: this bag, and they're like, this guy's peeing in a bag, blah, blah, blah,
- 15:14Speaker 1: and I was.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Like, I mean, there's no bathroom close to the sideline, though,
- 15:18Speaker 2: so it's understandable. If I got to go and use
- 15:20Speaker 2: the restroom, it's going to be a series I'm going
- 15:22Speaker 2: to miss.
- 15:22Speaker 4: The only stadium that I've ever been in, so when
- 15:25Speaker 4: I was in Denver, we actually, right behind our bench,
- 15:27Speaker 4: it was like this little carve-out, and it wasn't very tall, so, like,
- 15:31Speaker 4: even I had to kind.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Of, like, get in there. Even you?
- 15:33Speaker 4: Even me, that's why I said it like that, and
- 15:35Speaker 4: you were kind of hunched over, but it was a
- 15:36Speaker 4: single toilet, and it was, like, literally, like, the smallest
- 15:40Speaker 4: space possible, but it was just cut out just for
- 15:42Speaker 4: that reason.
- 15:43Speaker 2: It's a good idea, you know, in hindsight. But, I mean,
- 15:45Speaker 2: I guess, you know, it's. But the stadium is, you know,
- 15:47Speaker 2: it's elevated. Like, Retire Stadium, like, it's.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Like, right on the player's surface.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Yep. Like, there's no elevation to it. So, just know, guys.
- 15:55Speaker 1: The tent's not just for injuries. So if your favorite
- 15:57Speaker 1: player goes into the tent, it's not.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Cross your fingers that he's got to empty his bladder.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not... You know, he's not automatically injured or
- 16:04Speaker 1: automatically have a concussion. He might just have to pee-pee. Yeah, dreambyhigh.com
- 16:07Speaker 1: will do that to you. It will.
- 16:08Speaker 2: I mean, hey, we got to stay hydrated.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Shots, too.
- 16:10Speaker 2: It is a hazard of that, though.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Yes.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Doc, we appreciate you.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Certainly.
- 16:14Speaker 4: joining us here on the road at the garage. Congratulations again.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Congratulations, sir.
- 16:18Speaker 4: Glad we got to finally share that news. And, sir,
- 16:21Speaker 4: we will see you Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. It
- 16:24Speaker 4: is finally here.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Game week. Are you tired of the noise? I just want.
- 16:27Speaker 5: To play football and see football and just talk about football.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:32Speaker 4: But, you know, boot meets ball. Ball is placed on tee.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Ball is placed on tee. Referee bows whistle. Yeah, that
- 16:39Speaker 1: means it's time. There you go. It's time to go.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Are we good with that?
- 16:43Speaker 1: No, we're good. All right. You did great.
- 16:45Speaker 2: More OTB when we come back here live from the garage.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Off the bench. All right.

- 18:09Speaker 1: lifted in.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Welcome back to Off the Bench.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Wednesday's show is brought to you by Poncho.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Getting into it.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I put my headset on like that's on me. Frankie J.
- 18:25Speaker 1: I don't know. He's a driver's friend.
- 18:28Speaker 6: Go, Bill.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Oh, boy. My bad. Fumble.
- 18:44Speaker 4: Alondra just sent us something in the group text. One
- 18:49Speaker 4: Couchy user has $ 1, 870 on Tyler Shuck to win NFL
- 18:52Speaker 4: MVP this season with a potential payout of $ 185, 636.
- 18:54Speaker 2: That's a very specific number.
- 18:55Speaker 4: $ 1, 870. You know, maybe he wore 18 and his dad
- 19:09Speaker 4: wore 70.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe so. Usually if it's a random number you bet,
- 19:13Speaker 1: it's because the payout's going to be an even number.
- 19:15Speaker 1: It's going to pay out $ 180.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Yeah, like you'll put in how much you want to win.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Yeah, and then it's random. But both the numbers on
- 19:22Speaker 1: both ends of this are pretty random. Maybe that's all
- 19:25Speaker 1: the money he had left in his account.
- 19:29Speaker 4: That's very specific to have in your account.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Yep.
- 19:33Speaker 4: Alondra makes a great point. Maybe that's what he had
- 19:35Speaker 4: in his savings.
- 19:36Speaker 1: That's true. He's been saving up.
- 19:39Speaker 2: He thinks Tyler Shutt can maybe go win the NBA.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Maybe he originally deposited $ 50, 000. It was just down to that.
- 19:48Speaker 1: That was what's left sure go for the home run i.
- 19:52Speaker 4: Don't i don't know that old tyler shuck's gonna win
- 19:54Speaker 4: the mvp i think tyler's gonna have a hell of
- 19:56Speaker 4: a football season and i say that because a lot
- 19:59Speaker 4: of times like something like mvp it's one of those
- 20:02Speaker 4: deals where you got to have the season before the
- 20:04Speaker 4: season They win MVP.
- 20:06Speaker 2: So it's not even like that.
- 20:07Speaker 4: Tyler Shook can't go out there and play incredibly well.
- 20:10Speaker 4: But a lot of times like Drew Brees didn't win
- 20:13Speaker 4: that ever.
- 20:15Speaker 1: He didn't.
- 20:16Speaker 2: So it's very difficult to get that done.
- 20:18Speaker 4: Like Jared Goff hasn't even been in the conversation in
- 20:21Speaker 4: the last three years. Jared Goff leads in yards, touchdowns
- 20:24Speaker 4: and his second impasse rating in the NFL.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Because, I mean, it's a player and a team. Yeah.
- 20:29Speaker 2: And Detroit's been good.
- 20:30Speaker 1: And Detroit has been good. No, not last year.
- 20:33Speaker 2: They still had a winning record.
- 20:33Speaker 1: They were good.
- 20:34Speaker 2: They still had a winning record, though.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Were they 9-7? No, I mean, I'm sorry. 9-8. Were
- 20:40Speaker 1: they 9-8? Yeah. Yeah, MVP is, like, really hard to do. It's, like, really,
- 20:47Speaker 1: really hard to do because you have to, I mean,
- 20:51Speaker 1: do you think you get an advantage on the MVP
- 20:53Speaker 1: race by playing more primetime games, too? Yes. I mean,
- 20:57Speaker 1: certainly you get more noise talked about you, but it's
- 21:00Speaker 1: not like a fan award, though.
- 21:04Speaker 2: It's not a fan award, but the buzz. And so
- 21:07Speaker 2: people that vote.
- 21:07Speaker 1: The hype train.
- 21:09Speaker 2: People that vote for MVP.
- 21:10Speaker 1: You know what?
- 21:12Speaker 4: I want to say that my show on NFL Radio
- 21:15Speaker 4: has an MVP vote.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Kyle Juszczyk.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Yeah. Boom. Oh, yeah. You're in. MVP of the league.
- 21:26Speaker 4: They're going to be like, we got this SiriusXM NFL Radio.
- 21:29Speaker 2: They voted for Kyle Juszczyk as league MVP.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Yeah. Average six yards rushing and 11 yards receiving a game.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Damn right we did. Just saying. Call it 17 all-purpose
- 21:42Speaker 1: yards per game.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Per game. It's not that big of a deal.
- 21:46Speaker 1: In the NFL. I'm going to do it. Why not? Yeah,
- 21:49Speaker 1: I'm looking for Tyler Shuck to have a big year.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Just because I've talked about so many times that year
- 21:53Speaker 1: one to two jump for quarterbacks in the NFL is
- 21:57Speaker 1: your opportunity that year that jump from one to two.
- 22:03Speaker 1: is the biggest opportunity in a quarterback's career to make
- 22:08Speaker 1: huge improvements. And he already really showed us a lot
- 22:13Speaker 1: last year. I mean, how they finished the season off,
- 22:16Speaker 1: throwing to people we had never heard of before and
- 22:21Speaker 1: did so in remarkable fashion. What was it? What's the
- 22:24Speaker 1: stat that he led the NFL in third down conversions?
- 22:27Speaker 1: Is that right? Third down conversions with, again, throwing to nobody.
- 22:31Speaker 1: So that shows you how good he was and was
- 22:34Speaker 1: able to play with anybody. It also shows you how
- 22:37Speaker 1: good Kellen Moore's offensive scheme was, being able to get
- 22:40Speaker 1: guys open like that that aren't just these showstopper receivers
- 22:44Speaker 1: that were going to beat everybody one-on-one. So the ability
- 22:47Speaker 1: to game plan and get people open and operate an
- 22:50Speaker 1: offense and have a quarterback that was able to make
- 22:52Speaker 1: clutch throws and make friendly throws. We saw passes that
- 22:55Speaker 1: he would make. that were being caught that early in
- 22:59Speaker 1: the season when Rattler was a quarterback that he would
- 23:02Speaker 1: make that, that wouldn't be. And that's, that's no shade
- 23:06Speaker 1: to anybody on that. It's just saying that the ball
- 23:09Speaker 1: that he throws is very friendly. The guys had confidence
- 23:12Speaker 1: in it.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Guys elevated their player.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Guys. They sure did.
- 23:15Speaker 2: That's a skill set that some quarterbacks have.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Yeah. So now that you have, you know, you have
- 23:20Speaker 1: a brand new year or say, everybody's excited. There's been
- 23:24Speaker 1: a lot of great moves. Of course, there's been some
- 23:25Speaker 1: injuries and we know what's going on with Jordan Tyson,
- 23:28Speaker 1: but it seems like Chris Olave is coming out of camp,
- 23:32Speaker 1: maybe have his best camp of his career. So, um,
- 23:36Speaker 1: I'm excited to see what they can put on the field.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Now we're not like, we're not in this crazy bubble
- 23:41Speaker 1: and have these expectations that they're going to, you know,
- 23:43Speaker 1: go 13 and four or anything like that. But, um,
- 23:48Speaker 1: there are high hopes and there are at least some
- 23:50Speaker 1: expectations that they have at least, you know, a 40%
- 23:55Speaker 1: chance of making the playoffs and winning this, winning this
- 23:58Speaker 1: bad division. And we think it's going to be Tampa
- 24:00Speaker 1: and new Orleans and a, and a, and a two
- 24:02Speaker 1: team race. But just one year ago, Carolina was the
- 24:05Speaker 1: one that came out with the win and their team
- 24:06Speaker 1: is not that much different than it was. So we'll see.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I'm excited to at least get to, Is it next Wednesday?
- 24:15Speaker 2: September the 9th. It is Patriots-Seahawks.
- 24:18Speaker 1: It's a classic Wednesday NFL game. It's just going to
- 24:21Speaker 1: get sooner and sooner, and I'm here for that, by
- 24:22Speaker 1: the way. Yeah, no, I'm good. I am so ready
- 24:26Speaker 1: for the NFL. I am so ready for college to
- 24:29Speaker 1: start this weekend, but I am equally or more so
- 24:33Speaker 1: ready for the NFL season to start.
- 24:35Speaker 4: So you get on Wednesday, you get a rematch of
- 24:36Speaker 4: the Super Bowl. On Thursday, you get Rams 49ers from Australia.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. I don't care where they're playing that game.
- 24:43Speaker 1: They could play that game here in the garage. What
- 24:45Speaker 1: time do they play?
- 24:45Speaker 2: I'd be fired up.
- 24:49Speaker 1: It's a nighttime because it'll probably be like an 11
- 24:52Speaker 1: or noon game there.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so.
- 24:54Speaker 4: I know it's primetime because I had Luke Keighley on
- 24:56Speaker 4: the show yesterday. He's going to be in the booth
- 24:58Speaker 4: for the game.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Okay. We had Nick Foles last week. He's going to
- 25:01Speaker 1: be like on the post game. I don't know. I
- 25:04Speaker 1: don't know.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Oof, Tony.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Okay.
- 25:08Speaker 2: As you were talking, I was looking. I wasn't being rude.
- 25:10Speaker 2: I was looking up.
- 25:11Speaker 1: You weren't texting?
- 25:12Speaker 4: No, I was looking up Tyler Shuck and what the
- 25:15Speaker 4: sportsbooks had on his passing yards and just some other
- 25:18Speaker 4: quarterbacks around him. So I'll give you kind of an idea, okay?
- 25:22Speaker 4: Aaron Rodgers, he's at 3,049. That's where the bar is set.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts, 3,149. Jackson Dart, 3,149. Drake May, 3,799.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Let's get some quarterbacks that might be in the same
- 25:28Speaker 2: kind of conversation.
- 25:29Speaker 1: I mean. Jackson Dart would be Justin Herbert.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Thirty five. Ninety nine.
- 25:42Speaker 1: C.J. Stroud.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Thirty five.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Forty nine. Under. Under.
- 25:47Speaker 2: So I was trying to figure out where Tyler Shuck
- 25:49Speaker 2: would be. He's at thirty four. Forty nine.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Wow.
- 25:52Speaker 2: So he is three hundred yards more than Jackson Dart.
- 25:56Speaker 1: But no. Jackson Dart's cards are worth three times more. No.
- 26:01Speaker 4: So, I mean, he's got he's got a good number.
- 26:03Speaker 4: That's that's that's a big number that they think. He's
- 26:07Speaker 4: going to have a pretty solid year. His touchdowns right now,
- 26:10Speaker 4: that would be 20.5.
- 26:12Speaker 2: I'm going to take the over on that.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, 20.5?
- 26:17Speaker 2: 20.5 for Tyler Sheck.
- 26:18Speaker 4: So they gave him basically 3,500 yards and only 20.5 touchdowns.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I mean, that's less than 1.2 touchdowns per game. Not
- 26:28Speaker 1: a big deal. Math, dude.
- 26:30Speaker 4: Nobody was even talking about it. Brock Purdy's is 27.5. So, again,
- 26:37Speaker 4: kind of give.
- 26:37Speaker 1: You an idea. And you know, like, all of his
- 26:39Speaker 1: receivers are going to get hurt for sure.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Jared Goss is 29 and a half. Joe Burrow has
- 26:45Speaker 2: the highest, 32.
- 26:47Speaker 1: And a half. Jeez.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Yeah, give me the over on Chuck's touchdowns for sure.
- 26:53Speaker 1: 21 and a half? It's 20 and a half, so
- 26:59Speaker 1: I just need 21. I got to tell you, it's
- 27:00Speaker 1: tough to bet. It's tough to bet futures, though, you know? Why?
- 27:03Speaker 1: Because it takes so long? Because the money comes out
- 27:05Speaker 1: of the account. Back in the good old days, you know.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Back in the good old days, you didn't have to
- 27:12Speaker 1: pay until you lost it. Travis H.N. Jr.
- 27:16Speaker 4: his rushing total is 824 and a half. He's had 1,000 yards, like, what,
- 27:20Speaker 4: three or less, four years?
- 27:22Speaker 1: I'll take that over. I don't know. Hadn't been on
- 27:24Speaker 1: our team, so. Didn't care? Didn't care. Actually, I say
- 27:29Speaker 1: our team. I've never been a Saints fan in my life.
- 27:31Speaker 1: You play for the Saints. I play for the Saints.
- 27:33Speaker 2: It's the last NFL jersey you wore, bud.
- 27:35Speaker 1: I was a fan those last half a season. How
- 27:38Speaker 1: many games? But now I'm more of a fan because
- 27:40Speaker 1: I've been forced to follow it a little bit more. Forced? Yeah. Man. Nudged.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I like that better. Is that better? Yes. Who dat?
- 27:52Speaker 2: These chairs are different heights.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Yep.
- 27:55Speaker 2: I've never felt taller.
- 27:56Speaker 1: In my life. You look like a little boy. A
- 28:00Speaker 1: small boy? A little small boy. would you rather be
- 28:02Speaker 1: in the couch than the chair?
- 28:03Speaker 2: No, I'm feeling really good.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Because, like, both of us, we're trying to figure out
- 28:07Speaker 1: our sweet spot.
- 28:08Speaker 2: We're trying to figure it out.
- 28:09Speaker 1: And I really do think that it kind of has
- 28:11Speaker 1: to do with both of us having a hurt back
- 28:12Speaker 1: right now.
- 28:14Speaker 4: I cannot confirm or deny that.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Yeah, why'd you hurt your back? Just life. It wasn't
- 28:20Speaker 1: from the furniture movement. Don't make me feel bad.
- 28:22Speaker 2: No. It was from something else. I'll tell you what,
- 28:26Speaker 2: the shoulder from the tire.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Oh, the shoulder. That's right. Shh. That's a weird one.
- 28:31Speaker 1: You should have just kicked it. Stomped down on it.
- 28:35Speaker 4: It wasn't like the old, like, you know, you used
- 28:37Speaker 4: to have like, it was like a cross. You know,
- 28:40Speaker 4: it had different sizes. Well, now they try to get fancy.
- 28:42Speaker 4: And it was like this, it was only like this long.
- 28:44Speaker 4: And it had like this random handle that you had
- 28:46Speaker 4: to like pull up and snap in. And then you
- 28:49Speaker 4: had to like, it was a mess. And then, but
- 28:52Speaker 4: my truck, my Black Widows, it was too big. It
- 28:55Speaker 4: didn't fit on Jackson's Explorer. So I couldn't use that
- 28:59Speaker 4: because that one was nicer and bigger and better.
- 29:01Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
- 29:02Speaker 4: It was ready to go, but my tires have bigger
- 29:05Speaker 4: lug nuts than Jackson had.
- 29:07Speaker 1: All right.
- 29:11Speaker 4: We will step away. Our guy Will Helmers is going
- 29:13Speaker 4: to join us here in the garage when we jump back.

- 31:00Speaker 4: Hope you're doing well. We got to turn Will's microphone on. Yeah,
- 31:05Speaker 4: microphone on.
- 31:05Speaker 1: It's all right. Go, Cassie.
- 31:07Speaker 4: That first step, Cassie, let me tell you, you still
- 31:10Speaker 4: got it.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Am I here? Yeah, you're here. I'm live. Cassie, that
- 31:13Speaker 1: was legit. Good job. That was like straight out the backfield. Wow.
- 31:17Speaker 1: That was legit. I wonder what her 10-yard is. Fast.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Fast to quite fast. Fast enough.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Man.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Goodness gracious, it's exciting. That got me fired up. Oh, yeah,
- 31:28Speaker 1: you're right. I just saw the clip. I just saw
- 31:31Speaker 1: the clip. It zoomed past the camera, too.
- 31:32Speaker 2: You didn't see it. You saw a blur. Yeah, you did.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Well, what's going on, man?
- 31:38Speaker 2: How we doing, brother?
- 31:39Speaker 1: Fantastic, man. Let's see. Today's Wednesday. Tomorrow.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Yes.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Thursday, we start the Coaches Show. Louisiana Loaded is.
- 31:47Speaker 6: Hosting the coaches show at court to table lane, obviously
- 31:51Speaker 6: going to come by for the lane Kiffin show. It's
- 31:53Speaker 6: going to be a time, you know, so we we've
- 31:56Speaker 6: got it rolling there. We, you know, we got 300
- 31:58Speaker 6: seats inside. They sold out in 15 minutes, you know,
- 32:01Speaker 6: once we got it rolling. So it'll start at 6 PM. Uh,
- 32:04Speaker 6: you know, it's the, it's going to open up the
- 32:06Speaker 6: courtyard and the bar is going to be still be
- 32:08Speaker 6: open seating. So, you know, you can't reserve that. That's
- 32:10Speaker 6: going to be first come first serve kind of deal.
- 32:13Speaker 6: um you know it's it's it's gonna be exciting we're
- 32:15Speaker 6: excited about it you know to bring it to a
- 32:17Speaker 6: new place bring some new life to it some new
- 32:20Speaker 6: some new stuff we're gonna do a little juice yeah
- 32:23Speaker 6: you know look lsu's in a new period of yeah
- 32:26Speaker 6: of what's going on you know being who we are
- 32:29Speaker 6: now um and so you know bringing some more energy
- 32:31Speaker 6: and some excitement to it you know was our goal
- 32:34Speaker 6: when you know when gordon and i talked about doing
- 32:36Speaker 6: it for louisiana loaded it was like let's kind.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Of bump this up a little bit. Let's make this interesting.
- 32:42Speaker 6: So there's going to be like in a lane, you know, for,
- 32:45Speaker 6: for some people who enjoyed going to the coaches show, it's,
- 32:48Speaker 6: it's an hour long radio thing.
- 32:51Speaker 1: And it used to be coach head coach there for
- 32:53Speaker 1: an hour. Yeah.
- 32:54Speaker 6: So what we're going to do is going to, it's
- 32:57Speaker 6: going to be 30 minutes is going to be 15
- 33:00Speaker 6: minutes of an assistant coach, 15 minutes of a player segment, basically.
- 33:03Speaker 1: And then the last half hour is going to be
- 33:05Speaker 1: all lane. Yeah. Yeah, it'll be cool.
- 33:07Speaker 2: So you get a chance to, you know, learn an
- 33:09Speaker 2: assistant coach as well.
- 33:10Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Because there's a lot of new assistant coaches as well.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Yeah. There's not enough weeks, though. Yeah. This guy. Not
- 33:16Speaker 1: enough weeks. Not enough. We need a lot of them. Yeah.
- 33:18Speaker 6: Quite a few assistants, but we're going to start it
- 33:20Speaker 6: out hot. I don't know who the assistant's going to
- 33:23Speaker 6: be tomorrow, but Sam Levitt's going to do our player
- 33:25Speaker 6: interview segment.
- 33:26Speaker 1: So he'll be on.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Oh, so cool. So, like, they're going to come.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Yeah, he's going to come. Oh, that's very cool.
- 33:30Speaker 6: He's going to come to the coach's show. I'm going
- 33:32Speaker 6: to do an interview with Sam Levitt, me and Chris Blair.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:35Speaker 6: Look at you. Please don't listen in. It would be
- 33:41Speaker 6: a tragedy. Tragedy on air.
- 33:43Speaker 1: I do have a question.
- 33:44Speaker 2: I got faith in you.
- 33:46Speaker 1: We'll make it work. Since Lane has been here, has
- 33:48Speaker 1: anybody ever called him Coach Kiffin?
- 33:53Speaker 2: Good question.
- 33:54Speaker 1: I don't know. Has anyone referred to that? You're going
- 33:57Speaker 1: to have an interview tomorrow. You're going to do the
- 33:59Speaker 1: coach's show tomorrow. Is it? you want me to test
- 34:02Speaker 1: what's up or is it coach or do you or
- 34:05Speaker 1: like because i thought like even if i was never
- 34:07Speaker 1: coached by somebody i go to a high school even
- 34:10Speaker 1: if it's the high school middle school coach i call them.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Coach yeah i call my son's coach whatever i.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Feel like lane is lane lane right or do you
- 34:20Speaker 1: like revert back to your old school everybody's coach ultimate
- 34:23Speaker 1: respect when you see him in person Are you like, hey,
- 34:26Speaker 1: Coach Kiffin? I'm trying to think. I've played pickleball a
- 34:28Speaker 1: few times with him. Okay. All right.
- 34:30Speaker 6: And it comes out coach more often than Lane. For me,
- 34:34Speaker 6: I guess maybe it's a personal thing. I just like
- 34:37Speaker 6: somebody who's a coach, and I respect in some kind
- 34:40Speaker 6: of way, even if they weren't my coach, I'm going
- 34:41Speaker 6: to call coach.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Right.
- 34:43Speaker 4: I'm trying to think if there's another coach that in
- 34:45Speaker 4: my life I did that with.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Right.
- 34:48Speaker 2: A lot of people here. Imagine calling Coach Saban Nick.
- 34:51Speaker 1: God, no. Oh, my God.
- 34:53Speaker 6: It scares me. That's like if we would have called J. J.
- 34:58Speaker 6: When I was a player, it was like you're not playing. J.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Bones. Yeah. What's up, J. J.
- 35:06Speaker 6: Not going to fly. Not going to fly. Is he
- 35:09Speaker 6: Coach Johnson?
- 35:10Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay. Or Coach J.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Coach J. He's a first-name, but it's still Coach J.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, well, it worked because it was Jay Johnson.
- 35:17Speaker 6: Jay, Jay, a lot of Jays going on.
- 35:20Speaker 1: Y'all do that. If you live in South Louisiana, you
- 35:22Speaker 1: do know that sometimes guys, especially dads, they refer to
- 35:26Speaker 1: each other as coach a lot as well.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Spadner is a big coach.
- 35:29Speaker 1: It's a big coach. Not, hey, bud, it's what's up, coach?
- 35:32Speaker 2: They're not even a coach. Shout out to my guy,
- 35:34Speaker 2: Jordy Collada.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, you're not even a coach.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Shout out to my guy, Jordy.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Big coach guy. Term of endearment, I think.
- 35:40Speaker 2: He's the guy that I learned it from because I'm
- 35:42Speaker 2: not from here.
- 35:44Speaker 1: I haven't adopted that. I'll fall into it sometimes if
- 35:47Speaker 1: I'm around certain people that call.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Like to say it.
- 35:49Speaker 1: They already say it. I'll fall into it for like
- 35:51Speaker 1: a couple of days. I'm like, wait a minute.
- 35:53Speaker 2: Will's not coaching anything.
- 35:54Speaker 1: He's not a coach at all.
- 35:55Speaker 2: He's also younger than me. It's like a weird dynamic. Yeah,
- 35:59Speaker 2: Will just called me old.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Coach. But yeah, Coach's Show, every Thursday, 6 p.m. at
- 36:04Speaker 1: Court to Table. That'd be fun.
- 36:06Speaker 6: So if you didn't get a reservation this past week,
- 36:10Speaker 6: you know, every Monday at 10 a.m.
- 36:11Speaker 1: The reservations are going to go live for the Coach's Show. Oh, cool.
- 36:14Speaker 6: You know, they're I assume they're going to keep on
- 36:16Speaker 6: selling out.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Yeah. And you said there's some first come first serve.
- 36:19Speaker 1: Do I need to get like a tent and come
- 36:21Speaker 1: the night before? How do we do this? Opens at
- 36:23Speaker 1: 4 p.m. day of.
- 36:25Speaker 2: OK, so the whole courtyard.
- 36:27Speaker 1: But if I'm already there at a tent, though, I
- 36:29Speaker 1: got a spot.
- 36:29Speaker 6: If you wait outside, they might just appreciate more than welcome.
- 36:33Speaker 1: To just give me a little spot.
- 36:34Speaker 6: I might even get you a tape. If you come
- 36:36Speaker 6: out there with a tent, I can I can swing
- 36:37Speaker 6: you a table.
- 36:38Speaker 1: I just need a chair. Just give me a stool
- 36:40Speaker 1: in the corner. I can give you a chair. But yeah,
- 36:43Speaker 1: first come, first serve, 4 p.m.
- 36:44Speaker 6: Every Thursday in the bar area and in the courtyard outside.
- 36:49Speaker 4: I'm intrigued by you getting the opportunity to be up
- 36:53Speaker 4: there as well.
- 36:53Speaker 2: That's a lot of fun.
- 36:54Speaker 6: Yeah, it's also something LSU hasn't done before. In the
- 36:58Speaker 6: 25 years it was at TJ Ribbs, trying to switch
- 37:03Speaker 6: it up a little bit. New era of college sports
- 37:06Speaker 6: and LSU, so we want to pump it up and
- 37:08Speaker 6: Have some fun with it.
- 37:09Speaker 4: I kind of want to ask you, like for you
- 37:11Speaker 4: trying to prepare for this, is it going to be,
- 37:13Speaker 4: all right, let me get at least my first question
- 37:15Speaker 4: ready to go. Is it, hey, I kind of want
- 37:17Speaker 4: a guideline. I might not follow it, but I want it.
- 37:19Speaker 4: Or is it like, dude, I've done this before. I'm
- 37:21Speaker 4: going to go off the cuff.
- 37:22Speaker 6: Man, I'd like for it to be a little structured
- 37:25Speaker 6: for me because I don't want to, you know, I
- 37:28Speaker 6: don't want to have any dead air, you know, going on.
- 37:31Speaker 1: And I know Chris is up there too. Yeah.
- 37:35Speaker 4: Chris will help me out, but I'll have it structured out,
- 37:38Speaker 4: I think, you know, at least somewhat.
- 37:40Speaker 1: But I can flow pretty easy.
- 37:42Speaker 2: I got faith in you. And, Will, if you get stuck,
- 37:45Speaker 2: just don't point at Chris Blair and say, yeah.
- 37:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:48Speaker 2: That's been done before.
- 37:49Speaker 1: I did that. We were interviewing a kid from North
- 37:52Speaker 1: Dakota State. How am I supposed to interview this guy?
- 37:55Speaker 1: I'm already two, three questions in. I'm out of bullets.
- 37:59Speaker 1: He wasn't giving us a.
- 38:00Speaker 2: Lot to play off.
- 38:01Speaker 1: That's the hard part. He wouldn't give us a lot.
- 38:04Speaker 2: That's what I get interested in.
- 38:06Speaker 6: What's Lane going to be like? Some of these players,
- 38:09Speaker 6: are these going to be like, yes.
- 38:12Speaker 2: When they hit you with that.
- 38:14Speaker 1: That's a tough one. That's tough. That's a scramble mode.
- 38:17Speaker 4: In your mind, you're going to have your next question
- 38:19Speaker 4: based off their answer.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Correct. And if they give you a one-word answer, it's
- 38:23Speaker 1: hard to do that. Very much so.
- 38:25Speaker 4: You know, I've interviewed Lane a bunch of times at
- 38:27Speaker 4: different places, and he's always been good.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:32Speaker 4: Like, I do feel like it's on the person to
- 38:34Speaker 4: find that spot that he wants to go to.
- 38:36Speaker 2: It's just like you were interviewing, I think, anybody.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Yeah. You got to connect with the person. And some
- 38:41Speaker 1: people are easier than others, certainly. Yeah. high school and
- 38:45Speaker 1: college players not the easiest sometimes right yeah um let
- 38:49Speaker 1: me ask you this uh are we even going to
- 38:53Speaker 1: touch anything outside of actual football oh absolutely okay yeah
- 38:58Speaker 1: i like that that kind of stuff.
- 39:00Speaker 6: And i'll tie it into louisiana loaded like look sam
- 39:03Speaker 6: levitt's from oregon utah michigan state arizona he's been all
- 39:07Speaker 6: over the place but this is first time in louisiana
- 39:09Speaker 6: You know, what's it look like?
- 39:10Speaker 1: What's he want to do? What's he want to get
- 39:12Speaker 1: into before he, you know, rolls out? Right.
- 39:15Speaker 4: I'll give you this one on Lane because I know
- 39:17Speaker 4: how much you enjoy the outdoors and you enjoy going
- 39:21Speaker 4: to the saltwater.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Yes.
- 39:22Speaker 2: He also enjoys that.
- 39:23Speaker 1: He's a fan. He's a big fan. We'll get into that. Yeah.
- 39:27Speaker 2: I know now. Look, I know you're versatile. You got
- 39:28Speaker 2: the freshwater and the saltwater.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Water. I can do it all. I know you can
- 39:31Speaker 1: do it all. I can do it all. We might
- 39:32Speaker 1: have to splash that in here. Yeah. That can be done. But, yeah,
- 39:36Speaker 1: it'll be a good time. And it lasts. You know,
- 39:37Speaker 1: that's football. We have football, baseball, and both basketballs.
- 39:40Speaker 2: I was going to ask you.
- 39:41Speaker 1: I didn't know if that was on. Okay. All season
- 39:43Speaker 1: is going to be a court to table. Yeah. Very cool.
- 39:46Speaker 2: And that's going to be very convenient with, obviously, LSU
- 39:48Speaker 2: like right there.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Yeah. It's going to be exciting. Can Jay Johnson beat
- 39:51Speaker 1: you in pickleball? No. It's Coach Jay. Well, he was
- 39:55Speaker 1: an infielder. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. He's an infielder.
- 39:57Speaker 1: He's probably pretty mobile.
- 39:58Speaker 2: He's typically good at sports like that.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Ping pong, tennis. Has Jay ever played a game
- 40:03Speaker 1: for fun, though? I don't think so.
- 40:05Speaker 4: I've never seen him shoot hoops, golf.
- 40:09Speaker 1: I know he has fun. That's his fun. Yeah. That's
- 40:12Speaker 1: his hobby as well as his job. Yes. Does he
- 40:16Speaker 1: do anything outside of that that other people would think fun?
- 40:19Speaker 1: To my knowledge, absolutely not.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 40:21Speaker 2: No fun, sir.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Zero fun, sir. But it is fun for him. No
- 40:25Speaker 1: fun zone. Fun guy.
- 40:25Speaker 2: No fun zone. That's what I was just about to say,
- 40:28Speaker 2: which is so funny.
- 40:29Speaker 1: He's so lighthearted.
- 40:30Speaker 6: Like, when you get into it, like, with him, he's
- 40:32Speaker 6: super lighthearted and fun.
- 40:34Speaker 4: So we had our baseball team, one of our coaches,
- 40:37Speaker 4: shout out Coach Laborde, set it up where we went
- 40:39Speaker 4: over to the box and, you know, the kids did
- 40:42Speaker 4: the whole.
- 40:42Speaker 2: Deal, whatever. And Jay saw me. I'm sitting there talking
- 40:45Speaker 2: with him.
- 40:46Speaker 4: And then he went and talked with the kids for, like.
- 40:47Speaker 1: 15, 20 minutes. And I'm.
- 40:49Speaker 2: It was in season. It was baseball season. We know
- 40:52Speaker 2: how much that man grinds.
- 40:54Speaker 1: He was cruting, bud.
- 40:56Speaker 2: He was cruting. That's probably right. He was so good.
- 40:58Speaker 2: He was so good with the kids.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Great.
- 41:01Speaker 6: You know, but he can hone it in just like
- 41:03Speaker 6: any coach, but he's super, super lighthearted and fun. But, no,
- 41:07Speaker 6: I have never seen him play a game, golf. I
- 41:12Speaker 6: did hear he went on a duck hunt once while
- 41:15Speaker 6: he's been here. He said he would never go again.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Probably miserable. Speaking of hunting, did Gordon kill this golden?
- 41:23Speaker 1: It's golden? Yeah. He killed it? Yeah. This golden one?
- 41:26Speaker 1: That's rare.
- 41:27Speaker 2: I don't think you can kill that one, bud.
- 41:30Speaker 1: That was rare. Rare find.
- 41:32Speaker 2: That's a little bitty fellow.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Natural causes then found him. I got you.
- 41:35Speaker 2: And then got him golden?
- 41:37Speaker 1: No, he was golden wild. Oh. Okay.
- 41:40Speaker 2: Where do you find those?
- 41:42Speaker 1: Rare. We need that one on the commercials. Rare America.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Rare America. Rare America. Yeah, over by Starbase.
- 41:48Speaker 2: Oh, all right.
- 41:49Speaker 4: One last time, Will, Coach's Show, kind of give them
- 41:51Speaker 4: one more time, the time, the date, everything's kind of
- 41:53Speaker 4: going on.
- 41:54Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely.

- 44:19Speaker 2: to you by Poncho.
- 44:23Speaker 1: I never should have let you go. I didn't know nothing.
- 44:26Speaker 2: I was stupid. I was foolish. I was lying to myself.
- 44:32Speaker 2: I could not find them. I would ever be without
- 44:34Speaker 2: your love.
- 44:35Speaker 3: Never imagined I'd be sitting here beside myself.

- 44:48Speaker 2: OTB here, live from the garage. Very cool. Lane Kiffin
- 44:52Speaker 2: show going to be tomorrow.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Court to table.
- 44:54Speaker 2: It's going to be a lot of fun. Go check
- 44:56Speaker 2: it out. Not this week.
- 44:58Speaker 4: As far as like sitting in there. Remember, it's going
- 45:00Speaker 4: to be a reserve situation. But next week, jump on that.
- 45:03Speaker 4: But you still can go to court with the table.
- 45:05Speaker 2: Hang out.
- 45:05Speaker 4: It's going to be incredible vibe there. And looking forward
- 45:08Speaker 4: to hearing our guy, Will Helmers, on the broadcast. How's
- 45:13Speaker 4: your pickleball game?
- 45:16Speaker 1: I have no idea.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Never played.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Katie would whip your ass probably.
- 45:20Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 45:20Speaker 4: I mean, you know, Katie's really, really good at ping pong.
- 45:23Speaker 4: She'd probably be really, really good at pickleball. My ping
- 45:26Speaker 4: pong game is still, you know, okay.
- 45:29Speaker 1: I can hold my own. It's like big ping pong.
- 45:31Speaker 1: I haven't played it that much. I haven't played it
- 45:33Speaker 1: like super competitively. It's funny. If you're good at ping pong,
- 45:36Speaker 1: you can pick it up fast. And I'm not a
- 45:40Speaker 1: tennis player. I tried to take some lessons a couple
- 45:42Speaker 1: years ago. I think you could probably pick it up
- 45:44Speaker 1: faster as a ping pong player than a tennis player. Yeah.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Correct me if I'm wrong. If you're in the chat
- 45:47Speaker 1: and you're a big pickleball player, correct me if I'm wrong.
- 45:50Speaker 1: But it's just like big ping pong. All right.
- 45:53Speaker 4: Well, we did get a text inside of our group
- 45:55Speaker 4: chat from Alondra that said, oh, I'd whip all three
- 45:58Speaker 4: of y'all in pickleball.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Bring it. Let's film it.
- 46:02Speaker 2: I'm going to have faith in it.
- 46:03Speaker 4: I bet Flynn is like, I don't know. He's good
- 46:06Speaker 4: at random stuff. Baseball players and quarterbacks, anything with the
- 46:11Speaker 4: hand-eye coordination, they're typically pretty good at it.
- 46:14Speaker 2: Although I did see my wife once. beat Matt Ryan
- 46:18Speaker 2: in ping pong 21-10.
- 46:22Speaker 1: She's a good ping pong player. She is.
- 46:24Speaker 2: She makes you mess up.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Yeah. Not lose, though. She brings it back to you
- 46:29Speaker 1: every time. And so then, like, you've got to be
- 46:31Speaker 1: on your piece. It's backboard. You've got to be backboard sometimes.
- 46:33Speaker 1: You do.
- 46:33Speaker 2: And we'll be back here on OTB.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 46:41Speaker 4: KDZBlinds.com, KDZ Interiors and Outdoor Living. Been in the game
- 46:45Speaker 4: since 2004. That is a very long time to be
- 46:48Speaker 4: doing it the way they do it because the way
- 46:50Speaker 4: they do it is the elite way. Every single thing
- 46:53Speaker 4: that they do, inside and outside, outside and inside, and
- 46:55Speaker 4: sometimes it's going to be a combination of both. Like
- 46:57Speaker 4: it's done for me, they'll do it for you as well.
- 47:00Speaker 4: Have Brandon Barton and team come out to your space,
- 47:01Speaker 4: know your space, learn your space.
- 47:03Speaker 2: And change your space in a matter of a minute.
- 47:05Speaker 2: Go to k-zblinds.com.
- 47:06Speaker 1: That's right. If you're tired of looking at outdated blinds
- 47:09Speaker 1: in your house, harsh sunlight, or rooms that just don't
