- 0:00Speaker 1: It breaks out in every show. Mark Simone on sevent ten.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Wo r Hey, let's they can call us. Eight hundred
- 0:09Speaker 2: three two one zero seven ten is the number. Let's
- 0:12Speaker 2: go to Carol in Stonybrook. Carol, how you doing.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark. I listened to you every day. I
- 0:18Speaker 3: think you're terrific and I agree with ninety nine percent
- 0:21Speaker 3: of what you say. But yesterday you mentioned that you
- 0:25Speaker 3: thought Kathy Hochel did the right thing by putting a
- 0:27Speaker 3: hold on data centers, and you did explain why. But
- 0:31Speaker 3: I just think she's pandering to her left wing of
- 0:34Speaker 3: the party. I don't think it's in the best interests
- 0:37Speaker 3: of New York State. I think the data centers will
- 0:40Speaker 3: go to other states, and I think it just puts
- 0:43Speaker 3: New York further and further behind.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Well, we'll always have data centers because they're proposing hundreds
- 0:49Speaker 2: of them all over New York State. It's hard to
- 0:51Speaker 2: believe Kathy Hokle could be right about anything. So you
- 0:53Speaker 2: have a good point there. But the problem is the
- 0:56Speaker 2: concerns about how much water they use electricity.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Well, President Trump said that they would supply their own
- 1:02Speaker 3: energy and water.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Yeah, but that none of them that are applying here
- 1:05Speaker 2: in New York have proposed that or shown how they
- 1:07Speaker 2: can do. Once they show how they can do that,
- 1:09Speaker 2: they'll be fine.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Well, wouldn't it be better to compromise with them and say,
- 1:12Speaker 3: these are the requirements before you build your data center.
- 1:15Speaker 3: You do X, Y and Z, and then.
- 1:17Speaker 4: You for see.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Yeah, no, she said, she's talking all these people. They'll
- 1:22Speaker 2: figure it out.
- 1:24Speaker 3: It just reminds me of another thing, like with not
- 1:28Speaker 3: only Kassi Hochel, but Andrew Cromo not allowing fracking in
- 1:31Speaker 3: New York. And that's why our bills, our electric bills
- 1:34Speaker 3: are so high, and we get the energy from Pennsylvania because.
- 1:39Speaker 2: A huge difference. Fracking produces energy for the town and everybody,
- 1:44Speaker 2: whereas the data center uses it and takes it away
- 1:46Speaker 2: from the town.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Well, supposedly they're supposed to supply their own energy when
- 1:51Speaker 3: they build them up.
- 1:52Speaker 2: I know, but that turned out to be a bit
- 1:53Speaker 2: of a myth. None of them have shown they can
- 1:55Speaker 2: do that yet. They'll become a point where maybe they can,
- 1:58Speaker 2: but she's just waiting for that point. It's not wrong
- 2:01Speaker 2: to be a little cautious on these data centers. But
- 2:04Speaker 2: thanks for Colin, Let's go to Mike and Florida. Mike,
- 2:07Speaker 2: how you doing, Good morning, Mark, that's Mike.
- 2:11Speaker 4: It's not only the lufties up in Maine that are protesting,
- 2:14Speaker 4: but even Dopey Susan Collins came out with a negative
- 2:17Speaker 4: comment about the incident, which she could have certainly framed
- 2:21Speaker 4: more positively for the other side. You know, in your
- 2:25Speaker 4: call and try to run down ice agents.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Now you gotta remember, that's always been Susan Collins. He's
- 2:29Speaker 2: always been. He's all over. She's not a Trump person,
- 2:32Speaker 2: she's not a Trump supporter, she's not anything like that,
- 2:35Speaker 2: but she.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Always How was I'm sorry I've been. How was the
- 2:38Speaker 4: dinner with Malcoff and Jimmy Fayla.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Well, we had dinner Monday night. Mark Malcoff, who wrote
- 2:44Speaker 2: this great new book called Love, Johnny Carson's best book
- 2:47Speaker 2: on Johnny Carson. Tom Cutty, took us to dinner. Jimmy,
- 2:50Speaker 2: Jimmy Fayla. He's become a huge Carson fan, student of
- 2:54Speaker 2: Johnny Carson. He loved it. It was great. Actually, Jimmy
- 2:58Speaker 2: fail to be with us tomorrow we talk about it
- 3:01Speaker 2: and then.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Any and did you learn anything new or well, I'll.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Take you why you got to read this book, Love
- 3:07Speaker 2: Johnny Carson. I knew everything. I spent my whole life
- 3:10Speaker 2: studying Johnny Carson. I knew everything there was to know.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I read this book and learned like ten thousand things
- 3:15Speaker 2: I didn't know. This guy, Mark Malcoff, best researcher ever,
- 3:18Speaker 2: has come up with stuff, little details, all sorts of stuff.
- 3:22Speaker 4: I listened to his podcast and I actually I've been
- 3:25Speaker 4: saving the one, the interview he does with you for
- 3:30Speaker 4: a Long Ride, because I've listened to a lot of
- 3:32Speaker 4: the other ones. So you know the one that you
- 3:35Speaker 4: are and it.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Started with he does the you can get him right now.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I worry to get podcasts called the Carson Podcast. He's
- 3:42Speaker 2: interviewed every star that was ever on Johnny Carson and
- 3:45Speaker 2: everybody they ever worked there. And it's fascinating. The Carson Podcast.
- 3:50Speaker 4: He has some really obscure people that he spoke to.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yeah, but sometimes the obscure ones, the guy that pulled
- 3:55Speaker 2: the curtain open for him, sometimes those are the most
- 3:58Speaker 2: fascinating interviews.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Absolutely absolutely.
- 4:02Speaker 2: All right, Well, good stuff, Mike, thanks for calling. But
- 4:05Speaker 2: get the book Love Johnny Carson. Listen to the Carson Podcast.
- 4:09Speaker 2: You'll love it. Let's go to Rich and Myrtle Beach.
- 4:12Speaker 5: Rich, how you doing, Hey, Thanks, Mark appreciated. Good morning Vincent,
- 4:15Speaker 5: Good morning San Diego. I got my buddy Ray Geiga
- 4:18Speaker 5: down here. Came down for a week from Long Island
- 4:20Speaker 5: for my birthday Mark, and he says he can't wait
- 4:23Speaker 5: to go off the plane tomorrow and go check out
- 4:25Speaker 5: this homeless encampment twelve blocks. I can't believe something's going
- 4:29Speaker 5: that big. Now. My dad's going to be ninety nine
- 4:31Speaker 5: in November. The woman that comes in and spends five
- 4:34Speaker 5: days a week with him, Okay, she's.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Got mistress or something no.
- 4:44Speaker 5: Good for when I'm ninety nine. Maybe that's the episode.
- 4:46Speaker 5: But this woman has relatives up in Jersey who lived
- 4:49Speaker 5: next with data center, and they said the white, the
- 4:51Speaker 5: noise at night that these things produced. He shut him
- 4:53Speaker 5: off during the day so people don't complain, but at
- 4:56Speaker 5: night you can't even sleep. People have to run fans
- 4:59Speaker 5: in their bedrooms to cover the noise. These data centers
- 5:01Speaker 5: are so loud. And the other thing is you can
- 5:03Speaker 5: always produce your electricity, but a data center can't create
- 5:06Speaker 5: your own water. They have to tap into a water
- 5:09Speaker 5: supply in the ground or well or somewhere, so they
- 5:11Speaker 5: are going to be using the locals water.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Yeah, they'll figure it all out. They'll figure out how
- 5:15Speaker 2: to do Southeast problem, but it's going to take a while.
- 5:17Speaker 2: That's why I don't mind a year moratorium for New
- 5:19Speaker 2: York State. But thanks for calling. Let's go to a
- 5:22Speaker 2: rich fair Lawn, New Jersey.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Rich.
- 5:24Speaker 2: How you doing good.
- 5:26Speaker 1: On good morning? And thank you Mark for taking my call.
- 5:29Speaker 5: Uh.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I want to know why the stupidity of the people
- 5:34Speaker 1: by killing themselves with these audibobiles. When you're pulled over
- 5:38Speaker 1: by a cop, why don't you pull on the side
- 5:41Speaker 1: of the road and they'll will talk to you and
- 5:44Speaker 1: tell you what's going on. No, they want to be belligerent.
- 5:47Speaker 1: And what happens the one in Maine, he started driving
- 5:51Speaker 1: around in circle.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Well after he was shot. After he was shot, he
- 5:56Speaker 2: was I guess his foot was still in the gas
- 5:57Speaker 2: and it kept going around in circles. But he did
- 6:00Speaker 2: try to run the officers over. If you're illegal out
- 6:02Speaker 2: there or any sort of criminal, I think you should
- 6:05Speaker 2: just start to realize this tactic of I'll run them
- 6:08Speaker 2: over with my car is not effective. In fact, everybody's
- 6:12Speaker 2: tried it ends up with bullets in them. So I
- 6:15Speaker 2: would give up on that technique. If the cops are
- 6:18Speaker 2: after you, out of all the things you could do,
- 6:21Speaker 2: trying to run them down with your car, it's not effective,
- 6:24Speaker 2: it doesn't work. Leave that tactic out. Hey, when we
- 6:27Speaker 2: come back, the brilliant Steve Forbes will be with us.
- 6:30Speaker 2: We'll talk to him about We'll talk to him about
- 6:33Speaker 2: that homeless camp of the shanty town. Also, he's the
- 6:36Speaker 2: expert on inflation. We just had the best inflation report.
- 6:39Speaker 2: We'll get to that and more coming up. We'll get
- 6:41Speaker 2: to Howard Stern a little later. All just ahead seven
- 6:45Speaker 2: to ten w
