- 0:00Esalam Alaikum Muhammad Allahu Barakat and welcome to another
- 0:03episode of the aftermath of podcast.
- 0:06Some would say this is your favorite shit Amazon podcast.
- 0:09Yes, I know another name, another face on the podcast Co
- 0:13hosting today since Ahmed Goku's absence.
- 0:17I'm sorry if you're disappointed and thank you if you're
- 0:20impressed. I'm actually very happy to be
- 0:23here because we're going to talk about one of the most important
- 0:26individuals of Shia Islam, which is none other than Imam Assad
- 0:31Alayhi Salaam. As always, I'm I'm going to go
- 0:35I'm going to be Co hosting sorry with one of my older brothers
- 0:38Saeed Ali Ladari is Salaam. That I know.
- 0:52That Hamdullah. Hamdullah, how are you?
- 0:56I can't complain I've been under the weather in the last few
- 0:59weeks, so people who listen in week in week out will sound like
- 1:02will understand my voice is a bit changed yes that's
- 1:04inshallah. That's why we told them to pray
- 1:06for us. Yes, especially you for this
- 1:08week saying how are you keeping? Well, Hamdullah, not too bad.
- 1:11The weather this week has been a bit, you know, not that nice.
- 1:14But other than that, I'm excited for tonight.
- 1:17I'm really excited. You know, we have a beautiful
- 1:19guest with us today and I think me and you especially are going
- 1:23to learn a lot today. We are, we are because we are
- 1:25going to be discussing Inshallah, the life of Imam
- 1:28Jafar Salati Salaam and there is so much to learn from him.
- 1:32You know we say we are Jafaris. Yes, we are Shia.
- 1:35So we look up to this most important figure we can say when
- 1:38it comes to our jurisprudence, which would be to be said at the
- 1:40very beginning. And we can't have this
- 1:42conversation alone. Of course, we are joined by the
- 1:45amazing, the wonderful, the respected Sayed Muhammad Ali,
- 1:49Rizvi Saeedna, Salaam Alaikum. Thank you for having.
- 1:54Me. Thank you for coming down.
- 1:56How was the journey to the studios?
- 1:58Al Hamdullah Al Hamdullah, it's an honour to be here and it's
- 2:01even more of an honour to be here.
- 2:03In the name of the 6th holy man Salaam Alayhi, the Jafar is
- 2:07coming together to remember Jafar Assad Salaam.
- 2:11Alayhi Salaam say that normally we before we kick start off our
- 2:16main discussions when we have like a special guest that comes
- 2:19over and you know, always us with their presence and their
- 2:22gems and their wisdom. We have like a question our
- 2:25viewers know as an icebreaker. But for me it's it's to get to
- 2:28know you more and for the viewers and listeners get to
- 2:31understand who you are as an individual better.
- 2:33But this one's in relation to Imam Jafar Assad, so it's a bit
- 2:36different to our normal Ice Breakers.
- 2:38So I'm going to give you 2 scenarios.
- 2:41And you can't choose both. You have to choose one and say
- 2:43the reason why. Option A, say it.
- 2:48Now you have the opportunity to serve in the House of Imam Jafar
- 2:53Assad. Option two, you have a lifetime
- 2:59of learning under him. Imam Al Jafar is your teacher
- 3:04and you're his students. Which one would you pick and
- 3:06why? It's a tough one.
- 3:10It is a tough one. That's a tough.
- 3:14One, because both of them are. The best of both.
- 3:18Forms of salvation and sada. But I think for me, I would go
- 3:26with serving the Imam in his household because I consider
- 3:30myself to be his servant, his slave.
- 3:34And something tells me just by serving him, I'll be learning
- 3:38because it's his household to be there to serve him, to see him.
- 3:43Because you know, you, you have in the narrations that those who
- 3:46used to serve a little bait, for example, Filtha or Cumber, there
- 3:52were servants they used to serve, but at the same time they
- 3:54also had reached peaks of Maratha.
- 3:57And then there are those who came and learned and became
- 3:59students. And yet they, you know,
- 4:02deviated. And you know, there's no
- 4:04guarantee. So I would choose service over
- 4:09maybe a classroom sort of a setting.
- 4:11Beautiful, beautiful. I love that.
- 4:12I really love that. Especially I know Yasser loves
- 4:14Hipler, yes. So this is something he doesn't,
- 4:16of course, of course, Allah. Bless all the all those had the
- 4:22mean. Of the Allah say it.
- 4:27Let's start the discussion. Really.
- 4:30There is so much points I think we want to come across and I
- 4:33want to make. I want to maximize how much.
- 4:36And Charlotte, we can learn from you today saying that when it
- 4:38comes to the life of Imam Jafar Asadeh, and I think if we can
- 4:41begin here, we know Imam Jafar Asadeh Ali Salaam is one of the
- 4:45most important Islamic figures throughout Islamic history.
- 4:50But despite this, we find in many, many, many circles, for
- 4:53example, when it comes to the Sunni world, he's absent from
- 4:56their talks, from their circles. When it comes to the Shiite
- 4:59world, he's limited to just to Khala Sadiq, Khala Sadiq,
- 5:04nothing more and nothing less. So I feel like there's always
- 5:06like an under appreciation. Why do we find ourselves in this
- 5:10situation? I agree with that.
- 5:13And also just a point here, we should have more on this imam
- 5:18for a number of reasons. Number one, I don't know how
- 5:22many of us know this, but he's one of the longest living Imams,
- 5:27except of course, Imam Sahu Zaman are the ones who were born
- 5:30and then were killed, killed fi Sabil Allah, he's one of the
- 5:33longest living Imam. So that means we should spend
- 5:36the longest on his life, on his teachings, on his studies.
- 5:42So that's number one. Number two, he's, we are Jafari
- 5:49in Fiq. We are Alawi in Akhida, but we
- 5:53are Jafari in Fiq, so we should give him more time.
- 5:56Of course we spend time with him, Ali, Ali Salaam, Hassan,
- 5:59Imam Hussein. But something tells me that we
- 6:02need to spend more time with his fit, with his ideas, with his
- 6:06teachings and his students speak for for the Imam himself.
- 6:15So I give you credit. I give credit to those who do
- 6:20work for the Holy Imam Ali, Sato Salaam, to really try to
- 6:24highlight what he taught. I mean, he had students who
- 6:28became Imams of others. Yes, we'll get there eventually.
- 6:32We have. But he has students who became
- 6:34Imams of others. And he's not somebody who needs
- 6:37introduction because he's known in Shia circles as well as Sunni
- 6:42circles. For example, Imam Jawad may not
- 6:44be known in other circles, or for example, Imam Al Hadi al
- 6:48Salam may not be known in other circles, but he's someone who's
- 6:51known in Sunni circles. Clearly among Jafar Sadiq, yes,
- 6:56we know mam, Jafar Sadiq, you're Jafari straight away, Jafar
- 6:59Asadiq. So for this reason, I think that
- 7:03he's not somebody who needs introduction, but yet at the
- 7:05same time he is somebody who needs a lot of dissecting,
- 7:09revising, revisiting and opening the in opening the debate.
- 7:15Why is it that such a big personality does not get that
- 7:20same attention that, for example, Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam
- 7:24Malik, Imam Shafi or Imam Mohammed Ibn Nahambal, why is it
- 7:29that he gets less than them? And so this is where we, we dive
- 7:34into it really, and we try to figure out what are the issues.
- 7:37You know, why is it, there's clearly a reason.
- 7:39I mean if they do not deny the fact that Abu Hanifa and Malik
- 7:44study under him, then why is it that he doesn't get that same?
- 7:49The answer is simple and short. He is of course the Imams of the
- 7:53Shia and there was already a bias that is a Shia Imam
- 7:57throughout history. You find that Mamus al Qadim how
- 8:00the Imam or Rafi as they said on his janaza when he laid there.
- 8:05Who is this? This is the Imam of the Arafat.
- 8:09That's one. The other is that the Imam Ali
- 8:12Salaam did not give baya to the governments of the time.
- 8:16So he didn't have that support, whereas other Imams did.
- 8:22So he did not have that backing from the government that the
- 8:26other Imams were getting. So now when people ask the
- 8:28question, you know, I don't know if you school of thought famous
- 8:33Maliki school of thought, famous Shafa, school of thought,
- 8:36famous, humbly famous Jafari. Not everybody knows why this is.
- 8:43Why? Because there is an ideology
- 8:44that was pumped and pushed and Imam Jafar Saaliya Salam's
- 8:48ideology was not pumped nor pushed.
- 8:51And I I I think the point you're trying to say, or that I
- 8:54understand of how I see it, in fact, say it is that because I
- 8:57think if they elevate the status of Imam Jafar al Sadiq in those
- 9:02four different schools in Shafa Ali Maliki humbly, that it sort
- 9:06of opens up questions, possibly a kind of worms of who's your
- 9:10teacher? Yeah, you know who who, who is
- 9:12this person that you learn all your fit from, for example, that
- 9:16might send them straight to your mum, Jafra Sadak.
- 9:18Do you think like there's like a?
- 9:20Possibility of how do they not ask the question?
- 9:22Well, that's what baffles me as well.
- 9:23Because I always find it like it's common sense.
- 9:26OK, I Revere this man, he teaches me a lot.
- 9:29But who taught him? Yeah.
- 9:30So that what do the other people in the other schools of thought
- 9:33not ask this? And and whilst we're in the same
- 9:36topic of Imam Jaffar Saadah teaching students, can we, can I
- 9:40ask a question of how was this? How was the classrooms?
- 9:45How how are they like, I don't want to say built, but like how
- 9:47are they organized? For example, like we know Abu
- 9:50Hanifa and Maliki they were. They were taught by Imam Jaffa.
- 9:54Directly yes. But how was it?
- 9:56Was it in the classroom of 30? Was it in the mosque?
- 9:59Was it at random times that the imam say for the next two years
- 10:02you're going to be under me? Do you know what I mean?
- 10:04Like what's? How was it organized?
- 10:06So I definitely don't think the classes were as systemized as
- 10:09they are today. Yeah, but we do know from the
- 10:14Kitabullah Shard of Al Mufid, he says that the Holy Imam had had
- 10:194000 students. Now 4000 is a big number.
- 10:24You don't even have a classroom of 30.
- 10:27But that doesn't mean that 4000 sat in one room together at one
- 10:30time. It could mean 4000 / a number of
- 10:33years who have come and have gone from the beginning to the
- 10:37end, whatever. But Sheikh Al Mufid says there
- 10:40were 4000 students of the Imam and they were all narrating from
- 10:45the Imam. So imagine how many they are
- 10:47narrating from the holy Imam Ali Sato Sama.
- 10:49There are 4000. Imagine having 40 that are
- 10:52narrating from Abu Hanifa. We heard directly from Abu
- 10:54Hanifa or Imam is Shafi. Then imagine having 4000.
- 10:59So they were definitely not systemized as these and perhaps
- 11:02they were not daily, but consistently.
- 11:05A bulk of those two years of Abu Hanifa's life were under the
- 11:10teachings of Imam Asada and hence his famous statement Lola
- 11:15Asanatan Lahalaka. Not a man.
- 11:18Had not been for those two years, not a man would have
- 11:21perished. And interesting some people have
- 11:25tried to tweak this. But wait, he doesn't say he
- 11:27studied. He just has two years.
- 11:29He doesn't say he studied 2 years under Jafar Asada.
- 11:33People need any reason to just exclude a little bit, any reason
- 11:36to deny the favila of a little bit Ali Musalaam.
- 11:40But Lucy Shaha Sayed Shahabuddin Mahmoud al Lucy, who is the
- 11:45Mofasser of Quran tafsir, Ruhul Mahani, his famous tafsir, he's
- 11:50a Sunni Mofasser. He says Abu Hanifa by by saying
- 11:54this, those two years under Jafra Sadiq is taking pride upon
- 11:59those two years which he spent under Imam Masada Khalifa.
- 12:03Yeah. So those two years here
- 12:05According to him and others, Khanduzi and is Yanabi al
- 12:08Mahadda or for example Ibn Hajar in his a Sawaq is a famous, you
- 12:16know Mohad, the theme of the Sunni world and their books.
- 12:19They also these two years refers to Imam Jafar as Sadiq Alayhi
- 12:22Salaam. So the question is who is
- 12:24greater than the teacher or the student?
- 12:28OK. Yeah, that's a question.
- 12:30Why don't people you know why? Why does no one focus on this
- 12:33point? Why go to the student when you
- 12:35can go to the teacher? Yeah, this is against Apple.
- 12:37This is against logic. Yeah.
- 12:38And then even on the same topic, you, you mentioned hadiths of
- 12:42like, not hadiths, but sayings of maybe Abu Hanifa saying if it
- 12:46wasn't for those two years. So do we as the Shia, I believe
- 12:51that Abu Hanif al like was taught directly by Java Saleh,
- 12:55because I know many that tried to like refute this claim, or
- 12:58even on the other side of like the Sunni brothers and sisters
- 13:02trying to refute this claim. Because of course, what Sunni
- 13:05wants to hear that their scholar, their the person they
- 13:08Revere for theft and their, their jurisprudence was taught
- 13:12by a Shia to get it. So that how, how do we think
- 13:16about it as the Shia? How?
- 13:17It's established Sunni or Shia I have in history is history.
- 13:21If it's considered authentic then it is accepted right?
- 13:25It's established by both Sunni and Shia that these two directly
- 13:30and the other two indirectly studied under Imam Sal.
- 13:33Imam Sal not only that a lot of people don't know those Mahab
- 13:37that didn't exist. You see this for mother hub like
- 13:40the for Khalafa. This concept is a new concept as
- 13:44in it wasn't there since the prophet or you know, it's not
- 13:48something set in stone. Who made-up this concept of four
- 13:51the motherhab Motherhab al arbat or the Khalafa Rashidun or the
- 13:57you know the the Arba or these aimatl arbat, the four.
- 14:00This is made-up over time over history because this was the
- 14:03narrative of the government. Otherwise there were other
- 14:05mother which have been dropped. For example, the mother hub of
- 14:08Sofian authority who was also a student contemporary of Abu
- 14:12Hanif, I studied under Imam Masada Ali Salaam that died.
- 14:16The mother hub of has Hassan al Basri was close with all my
- 14:20years, the Omaris that dropped and died.
- 14:23So eventually there were other schools that lived, but
- 14:27eventually they died because they weren't supported by the
- 14:29government or they didn't have the followers.
- 14:32These schools were supported. Abu Hanif had given Bayer to the
- 14:37bassets. Imam Malik was honoured by that.
- 14:40But he used to have a special seat where he used to sit and
- 14:42lecture. He wouldn't just sit on the
- 14:44floor, he would have a seat. In fact, the book of Malik, Al
- 14:47Mwatta Mwatta al Malik was written under the commands of Al
- 14:52Mansoor, the tyrant of the bassets.
- 14:57And it's said that, you know, he asked him to write this book so
- 14:59that he doesn't narrate anything for Imam Ali.
- 15:03And if somebody doesn't believe that, then find me a tradition
- 15:07in Mawatta from Ali Abnebith. Ali doesn't read anything
- 15:11directly from Imam Ali Alisa. Completely zero say it.
- 15:14Nothing directly from Imam Ali Alisa.
- 15:17How can a book of hadith be a book of knowledge if it does not
- 15:22have a giant like Ali? How can it be a book of
- 15:28knowledge if it does not refer back to the door of the city of
- 15:30knowledge? So this was unfortunately, this
- 15:33was the the political mess of that time.
- 15:37The closer you are with the tyrants, the higher your
- 15:41position. And So what happened eventually,
- 15:43of course, these are hard facts we're talking about.
- 15:46And you know, they're not really mentioned.
- 15:47And a lot of the things are not known to the people because we
- 15:51have what we have what's known as famous history.
- 15:54There's history which is famous, but then there's ground
- 15:58realities. For example, they say Rasulullah
- 16:02Sallallahu alaihiwali wasallam married Khadija when she was 40.
- 16:06This is famous history, but not reality.
- 16:10Reality is different. Or they will say that he married
- 16:14his one of his wives was very young.
- 16:17This is famous history, but that's not reality.
- 16:20So there's a difference between that which is famous and that
- 16:23which is real. And what's famous is what's
- 16:26pumped out the narrative, which is pushed out by the by the
- 16:28Khalafa, by the, by the and these were the names Hanafi,
- 16:33Maliki, Shafi, Hambali, nobody supported.
- 16:37And look at the irony Subhan Allah, the fact that the mother
- 16:40hub of Imam Jafar Saathi was not supported.
- 16:43Yet still it survives without anybody support.
- 16:47That shows there's only one real support without any support,
- 16:55without any government backing. Today, you know you want
- 16:56government backing, you want funds and you get the media you
- 17:00get, you know you get the screen time and mam sada al Islam and
- 17:03none of that. 100% the backing is from Allah real, the backings
- 17:07from Allah say just on the school of Imam Jafar Assad.
- 17:11You know, with all these different schools that we've
- 17:13been mentioning over the last few minutes, what makes the
- 17:16school of Imam Jafar Assadak stand out compared to the other
- 17:204? Is the Imam himself?
- 17:23Allah, Allah it. Is the the essence of the Imam?
- 17:28You know when we say Imam Jah, it's very easy to say and you
- 17:31hear people on the screens that say this Imam Jaffar Sadiq, Imam
- 17:34Abu Hanifa, Imam Malik, Imam Shah, Imam Fulan.
- 17:38But this Imam Jaffar Sadiq and that Imam can nowhere be
- 17:43compared with one another, especially when one is the
- 17:45teacher, the other is a student. Imam Abu Hanifa is a much ahead.
- 17:50Imam Malik is a much ahead. Imam Asadiq is not a much ahead.
- 17:53It's. Not just a law.
- 17:56Is masu mansu mean Allah? He's not.
- 17:59When we say Imam Jafar Asadi, can we say Imam Shafi?
- 18:03We don't mean one too much. The hadin or two of the most.
- 18:06You know two of the scholars who do, who do which they had no
- 18:11Mahasada Ali Salaam. Doesn't do which they had
- 18:13Mahasada Ali Salaam. What he says is Nas.
- 18:16What he says is clear. Reality is what he says is
- 18:19Islam. What makes him different?
- 18:22Let me give an example, Abu Hanif.
- 18:25And no, a lot of people wouldn't know this, especially within the
- 18:29Sunni circus, because again, this is not what is put out
- 18:33there. Abu Hanifa himself is disputed
- 18:35within the Sunni circus. Ajit.
- 18:37Yeah, Anisa in his Kitabu Doafa, the book of the week, he says
- 18:44Abu Hanifa was weak as in we can, you know, narrate as a as a
- 18:50had this Imam Bukhari even considers him weak.
- 18:56Abu Hanif interesting. Sofia, an authority who was with
- 19:00him was a contemporary and a student of Mamasada.
- 19:04He had a school of his own, which, you know, died off
- 19:07eventually. He says, OK, he was a fatty, but
- 19:11he wasn't a mahad. This he was not strong in
- 19:13hadith. So he was strong in something
- 19:17but weak in something else. Similar things you'll find with
- 19:22the others like Maliki. Imam Malik had a book on
- 19:26narrations. But then there's scholars who
- 19:29would say, well, he was not strong in the scholars who would
- 19:33say Shafi was strong in Hadith, but he was weak in Shafi.
- 19:38And in fact, if you know, if you study Shafi, he was in Iraq and
- 19:41Egypt. When he was in Iraq, his fatwas
- 19:44were different. When he went to Egypt, he
- 19:45changed the fatwas. He says what I said in Iraq is
- 19:48old. What I say in Egypt is new, so
- 19:51that must have his qadim and this must have his jadid.
- 19:55So he changes his stance. Abu Hanifa will change his
- 19:58stance. Malik would change his stance.
- 20:01Sometimes they will, you know, they wouldn't allow people to
- 20:04don't write this because what I think today may not be that what
- 20:07I think tomorrow. So they were all disputed.
- 20:11If there is anyone undisputed, that's Imam Jafar, Salam al Baha
- 20:16Ali, you will never find Imam Jafar.
- 20:18Asadi said Don't write this down because tomorrow might change my
- 20:20mind. You would never say Mama sadi
- 20:22Ali Salaam say well look in Medina I believe this and today
- 20:27I'm in kufa. I believe that they all believe
- 20:31the same things. Their statements never changed.
- 20:34And where there was strong in for example, the other other
- 20:37imams are strong in one subject, they were weak in the other.
- 20:40Imam Sadiq was strong in all of the Olum, thick was all
- 20:45theology, philosophy, hadith, tafsir of the Holy Quran, juris,
- 20:49you name it. Also everything Imam Salih Ali
- 20:53Salaam had it covered. This is what makes him
- 20:55different. This is what makes him stand out
- 20:59from the others, what makes his position different to others.
- 21:04You know, there are times that Abu Hanifa was given.
- 21:07Mansoor once calls Abu Hanifa and he says test Jafar Abdul
- 21:10Muhammad, we'll bring him into the court testing, ask him the
- 21:15most difficult questions. Imam Salih Ali Salaam comes, he
- 21:18asks, he says I asked him 40 questions, I prepared them the
- 21:22most difficult ones. And he says by God he answered
- 21:25each and every question like this.
- 21:27He says, oh, Abu Hanifa, the people of Medina believe this,
- 21:32you believe that and we a little bit a little bait believe this.
- 21:37So he says he, he knows our beliefs.
- 21:40He knows the belief because he was from Iraq, Iraq Abu Hanifa
- 21:43was from from Kufa a little Medina believe that.
- 21:48And then he says we believe this.
- 21:50So not only does he know the answers, he knows the answers.
- 21:52He knows the the belief system of all of the schools.
- 21:58He says, by God, I have not seen anyone more alum than Jaffa
- 22:02Muhammad, where will you find an imam like this?
- 22:09Brothers, you have a look through history.
- 22:11You you'd find someone like this.
- 22:14But then that's why I have a question as well.
- 22:16Sorry to say that I'm work asking so many, but it's I
- 22:20honestly I'm just trying to learn as much as I can with this
- 22:22hour 45 minutes that we have with you.
- 22:24But I wanted to ask Imam Jaffar Salam online.
- 22:27Are they they say that he carried on what his father
- 22:31before him, Imam Hamid al Barkal laid foundations on.
- 22:34Can you give me a bit of history on that?
- 22:36Just yes, I understand What's the difference between Imam
- 22:39Muhammad al Barkal Salam Ali Ali is school university and how how
- 22:44did it differ when Imam Jaffa Salek took took charge because
- 22:48we normally say where Jaffa is. So that means he not only did he
- 22:53firm the foundations, but he built the pillars of FIP.
- 22:56So what was what was Imam Hamdan Barker doing to prepare his son
- 23:01to now go and make this out branch to teach so many students
- 23:05that that's something I'm trying to.
- 23:06Understand the founder absolutely right.
- 23:08The foundations were laid and we have to give credit to Al Baqar
- 23:12Ali Salaam as well. We do say, you know it's the
- 23:16Jafari madrassa or the school, but the foundations were laid by
- 23:21Imam Bakar Ali and of course Imam Sadiq had that opportunity
- 23:28and none of the other aim before him or after him have had.
- 23:32Inshallah, the 12th demand will have that opportunity.
- 23:34But the 11 Imams, he had the opportunity.
- 23:36He propagated the most. He lived the longest, he had the
- 23:40most students. Hassan, Abdullah, Ali Al Washa.
- 23:46He was a big name among the theologians of that time, among
- 23:51the different schools, like Hassan Basari, you know, these
- 23:53guys, he says. Once I entered the Masjid, I saw
- 23:59about 900 people were sitting there.
- 24:02And there were different circles, you know, like when you
- 24:04go to a mosque and they're all discussing studying.
- 24:07Like sometimes you go to the House of Niger for home, you see
- 24:10the Olama in circles. They're doing what's called
- 24:13Mubahifa. Bath and Harridge so.
- 24:16Or even even even the introductory students will do
- 24:19that, as in they sit and they discuss narrations and whatever
- 24:23they've learned. So it shows it's an old, it's an
- 24:27old tradition, yes. So I said, I went to the Masjid
- 24:30and I saw everybody's in circles and they were discussing.
- 24:34So I walked by all of them and they all said the same thing.
- 24:38There was 900 there. They all said one thing.
- 24:41They narrated the Hadees and they said we heard this from
- 24:45Jack for Asad. We heard this from Jack for
- 24:47Asad. We heard this from Jack for
- 24:49Asad. Because the name Jaffer was so
- 24:53common and it was upon the tongues it became known as
- 24:57Jafari. One of there's an interesting
- 25:00story actually which I just read few days ago in one of the
- 25:03books, one of the the the Kavi, not the judge when somebody was
- 25:10when two people were brought to him, of course they were from
- 25:12the Bassett courts. So when two people were brought
- 25:15to him to give testimony as witness, he looked at them and
- 25:20he says Jaffarian, Fatimian, these are two Jaffari, Fatimi,
- 25:25Shia. So these words I know at that
- 25:27time they use the word Jaffari fatimi because there was two of
- 25:32them. Jaffarian, these two are
- 25:35Jaffari, these two are Fatimi. So the olam up, you know they
- 25:38pulled it out from the books and said look even at that time they
- 25:41use these words and not that today we use the word Jafari and
- 25:43Fatimi and Halloween, these are from that time.
- 25:48So because of that though Imam Baker Ali Salam lays the
- 25:51foundation, yet the system the school is associated with his
- 25:57son. We does it is it?
- 26:04Is the correct translation, the splitter of knowledge?
- 26:07The splitter. Of knowledge, the one who splits
- 26:12the order loom of the Nabi, the knowledge of all of the
- 26:16prophets. In other words, he that
- 26:19knowledge existed, but he gave he split that knowledge so that
- 26:24it was easy to absorb and he gave it, he explained it.
- 26:29The tough seal the the details, they come from Alebet Alehem.
- 26:35Salaam, you know, whenever we have, for example, if we say
- 26:39Allah Sadiq or a hadith from Imam Baraba, for example, or
- 26:43whether the Imam has asked her to say, for example, the
- 26:45beautiful thing about the alebet is it traces always back to some
- 26:50Allah Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam.
- 26:52Ultimately these are the laws of Allah azzawa.
- 26:53So it's not like someone came and made-up this ruling and said
- 26:58this is Islamic law and that's Haram and this is Mubarak and
- 27:02that's must have No, this is what Rasulullah said, right?
- 27:05And that's the beautiful, beautiful thing about the
- 27:07Jaffrey school of thought. And say just aside from the fic,
- 27:11if I can ask about a car, it for a.
- 27:13Moment if I just if I can just add on to your point as you made
- 27:16a point that you reminded me of a point I wanted to make.
- 27:21This is what makes him different to the others because Kala Sadiq
- 27:27or Kala Abu Abdullah Sadiq is called Rasulullah but this
- 27:32cannot be said for Abu Hanifa or Imam Malik or Imam Shafi or
- 27:37Ahmad Ibn Hambal and did you can challenge this to the this.
- 27:42Is the truth. To the Sunni world, this can
- 27:44only be said for Jafar Asad. Even if they don't accept Imam
- 27:48Jafar Asadiq, they must accept that out of these 5 S, four of
- 27:52the Aimbatul Arbab Dahlu Sunnah and Imam Jafar Asadi, who is the
- 27:56descendant of the Prophet, you go and ask the question.
- 28:01There's only one who is from the household of the Prophet.
- 28:05And as the Arabic saying goes, sahib al bait adra bimafiha, the
- 28:11person within the house knows what's in the house.
- 28:14Sahib al bait adra bimafil bait, he knows best what's in the
- 28:18house. And and that's what the Holy
- 28:22Imam says, Hadithi hadith to Abbi.
- 28:25Yes. My hadis is the hadis of my
- 28:27father, Wahhadis to Abbi, Hadis to Jeddi, and the saying of my
- 28:32father is the saying of my grandfather.
- 28:34Wahhadis to Jeddi, Hadif UL Hussain, Wahhadis UL Hussain,
- 28:38Hadis UL Hassan, Wahhadis UL Hassan.
- 28:41Hadis to Amir al Mahdis, Amir al Mahdi al Mahdi al Mahdi.
- 28:48Oh Lulla beautiful. So Jeff Rosati says is the word
- 28:54of God. So that.
- 28:54Just want to add this as a pointer.
- 28:56This is something that makes him different compared to the other.
- 28:58Well, thanks for sharing. That is beautiful.
- 29:00Inshallah those listening take notes inshallah and learn from
- 29:04this man that we're discussing today.
- 29:06Say it's we spoke about the fic and normally we refer to the
- 29:10other schools. We say for example, the Shafi
- 29:15high school of four. Normally we refer to them when
- 29:17it comes to fake jurisprudence and things.
- 29:19But when it comes to the Al Qaeda, how comes they differed
- 29:23if they learn? For example, they spent all
- 29:26these years in the classes of Imam Jafar Asadek.
- 29:29I'm sure the Imam spoke about al Qaeda as well.
- 29:32What happened? What went wrong with the other
- 29:34schools? It's interesting because we do
- 29:36find that Imam Saadi Ali Salaam at numerous occasions tells off,
- 29:43Abu Hanifah tells him off, I was going.
- 29:47To ask that, I was going to ask how how did Imam Saddam treat
- 29:50those two? How was the teaching?
- 29:54System. So again, this is history that's
- 29:55not discussed too much. Should we discuss it?
- 29:59Yes, yes, of course of. Course, so there is, you know,
- 30:02there's some harsh statements from the Holy Imam towards Abu
- 30:08Hanifah, especially Al Imam Assad al-Assad in Mamus al Qadim
- 30:12Ali Salaam towards Abu Hanifa. Very harsh statements.
- 30:16For example, Abu Hanifa, Yeah, Abu Hanifa do not do chaos, you
- 30:20know, used to do chaos. Yes, he was known for his chaos.
- 30:23It's a jurisprudential 50 terminology, one of his ways to
- 30:29derive rulings. Anyway, I don't want to get too
- 30:30much into that, but he used to do something where he used to
- 30:35apply his own reasoning, basically to keep it simple for
- 30:38the audience. He used to apply his own
- 30:40reasoning for a ruling where there was no reasoning given in
- 30:45Quran or Hadith. So he would say OK, because
- 30:48alcohol is Haram, because intoxicates something else is
- 30:53Haram. We don't know the reason but
- 30:56we'll tell you the reason is the same.
- 30:58So he would kind of it's like a guesswork where he now gives his
- 31:02opinion, his right, his own opinion.
- 31:05This is Haram because because of this, you know it's not really a
- 31:10reason for it. So he gives his own.
- 31:12Anyway this was forbidden. A little bait never did such a
- 31:16thing. You know, either there is nuss
- 31:19clear instruction, Quran, hadith, a little bait.
- 31:22Otherwise you don't give your own reasoning in this, you keep
- 31:25silent. Or you know, there's other
- 31:27rulings in Osul that anyway he says do not do chaos for the one
- 31:33for in a Wellaman Casa for the one the first one who did chaos
- 31:38a bliss. He compares him to Shaitaan.
- 31:41He says do not do this. The work the first one to do was
- 31:45this was Shaitaan when he said I am, you know, I'm made from fire
- 31:50and he's Adam is made from the dust.
- 31:54Why should fire bow to the dust? Fire is better.
- 31:56You know all these things. He says don't reply your own
- 31:59reasoning because I'm better, I'm not going to bow #1 #2.
- 32:06Imam Ali Salaam once sees Imam, Imam Sadiq is, you know, is
- 32:12going out. Abu Hanifa sees him and the holy
- 32:14alarm is holding a, you know, walking stick, a staff.
- 32:17He says, you're young, why do you hold a stick?
- 32:20He says this is the stick of Rasulullah, this is the assa of
- 32:23our grandfather Rasulullah. So he says, Yabna Rasulullah,
- 32:28give me permission to kiss it. He bends forward to kiss it.
- 32:31The holy man puts his hand out. He says kiss the hand.
- 32:36This is the stick of the prophet, but within me is the
- 32:39blood of so he's teaching him is so for the first one he's
- 32:44teaching him pic with this is teaching him a guide that if you
- 32:50honor the stick of the prophet that I am the flesh and the
- 32:53blood in the home mini one. I mean all these narrations that
- 33:00exist, right, Their blood is my blood.
- 33:01Their flesh is my flesh in the mini one, I mean whom I am from
- 33:05them there for me. So he says kiss this instead.
- 33:10So what went wrong? It goes back to Sakifa.
- 33:15The tendencies were there, their loyalties were there.
- 33:19Yes, they learned alpha, they learned that, but at the same
- 33:23time they were giving allegiance to the Khalafa.
- 33:26Different reasons. I mean Imam Sadiq Ali Salaam
- 33:29sect could have been much more popular and famous.
- 33:32You know why? Because he was offered.
- 33:35In fact when that buses came, they said you become the caliph.
- 33:40Imam says no, you're not one of us and this is not the time for
- 33:44it. There were others who were given
- 33:47the position. Why don't you become the the
- 33:51chief? The chief judge.
- 33:54Judge or as you have the grand muftis today, right, you still
- 33:58have the grand muftis, why don't you become the grand mufti?
- 34:02It's a no problem, but you must give us baya.
- 34:05So a lot of them gave baya and they became the muftis.
- 34:09And that's something Imam Sadiq would never do because Imam
- 34:11Hussein never did that and Ali Abdalib never did that.
- 34:14Imam hasn't never did that. So why would you do that?
- 34:16Sense what about the debates live on principles and values
- 34:19and this is somethings they learn from their forefathers and
- 34:22Sha Allah, this is something we also implement our lives, so
- 34:25many settings that we see, especially over the last few
- 34:28years. Say I want to ask something
- 34:30about the Abbasid callous. You know, between the Omayids
- 34:34and the Abbasids, there was like a transitional period.
- 34:38I'm not going to say it was rosy.
- 34:40It was a huge mess, but it was an opportunity for Imam Masada
- 34:45to take a leadership role. If if we can say it like that,
- 34:48right? He chose not to and he chose not
- 34:51to take any role. Of course, he has his God-given
- 34:54role, which is Imama, but any other role he didn't take.
- 34:58Why? Why didn't he take the
- 35:00opportunity? If he if he had some sort of
- 35:03flexibility, I'm not going to say he, he had freedom to do
- 35:06what he want, but he had some sort of legitimacy in the name
- 35:09of the Abbasid who are saying come rule because we want the
- 35:14the Helen Beta rule. If I'm not mistaken, that's what
- 35:16how they came back into power as well.
- 35:18That was an opportunity for him to, let's say, grow the Shiite
- 35:21sects or bring back the son of Rasul Allah to a wider, bigger
- 35:25audience. Why did he choose not to?
- 35:28Is it a lost opportunity or is there wisdom behind it?
- 35:31Well, there's definitely wisdom behind it.
- 35:33Never a lost opportunity. Because I I say this, why?
- 35:37Not because I believe it's a lost opportunity, but because we
- 35:39had the conversation on the life of Imam Al Hassan a few weeks
- 35:43back, would say the how much Shara.
- 35:46And the question was, why did he do a peace treat with Mahalia?
- 35:50But when you know the insurance and outs, you understand the
- 35:52wisdom behind all. Yeah.
- 35:54So why didn't the Imam take a position, a worldly position?
- 35:57Yes. And you've answered it because
- 36:00it was a worldly position, because of the mess that was
- 36:04involved with him. So they wrote to him, actually.
- 36:07Yeah, Abu Muslim who rose up for their bastards, he wrote to me,
- 36:13said you be the read the ruler. But the problem is he didn't
- 36:17just write to him. They weren't true to the Holy
- 36:20Imam. They wrote to a few of the
- 36:22elders of Banu Hashim Mamasada al his Salam.
- 36:26They wrote to the grandson, one of the great grandsons of Imam
- 36:29Hassan al his Salam from Hassan al Mufana and other elders of
- 36:36Banu Hashim who were in the time of Imam Sadiq #1.
- 36:40So they were not sincere to Imam Assad #2.
- 36:44The Imam knew when he's, when they came to him, they said, he
- 36:47says to them and to lay some in the region, you're not my men,
- 36:51you're not my Shia. Because someone did ask that to
- 36:54the Holy Imam. We have in narrations, why not?
- 36:56Why, why not? Imam says they're not my Shia.
- 37:00That was key. He fools to do that.
- 37:02He would do that with his own Shia #1 #2 To work with the
- 37:10tyrant is to be under the tyrant.
- 37:12Yeah. Or to have a tyrant on your
- 37:15team, even if you take leadership role, you still have
- 37:18a tyrant on your team because they won't have it any other
- 37:22way. They're not saying that we'll
- 37:23step away and you come and do what?
- 37:26Because otherwise they would have never done anything.
- 37:28They would have just gone to the House of Imam Saudi Ali Salaam.
- 37:31You lay your hand out and we'll give you bear.
- 37:35It's not that the Imam knew you know, he knew the outcome.
- 37:40This is not the right outcome. Is same thing with the Imam
- 37:44Hassan Ali Salaam Imam Hussein, just give Bay I'll give
- 37:47allegiance or do something in our you know, in our for us and
- 37:52our support and then you're everything is OK, but they
- 37:54wouldn't do that and also the Imam know this is a better
- 37:56opportunity. I've got to do undo all of the
- 38:01mess that has been coming from sat FIFA, so this is an
- 38:06important point now it's. Generational.
- 38:09Yes, Imam is now directly fighting the effects of Sakifa.
- 38:13You might say what is Imam Sadhguru to do with Sakifa?
- 38:14That's Ali Abdullah Ali Salaam Allah Ali and said I said that
- 38:17Zahra Salaam Allah Ali Imam fighting directly the effects of
- 38:21Sakifa, What were the effects? Don't write hadith Hezbollah
- 38:27Kitaballah they said the book of God is enough.
- 38:31Imam Saja has not write the hadith, write the olum.
- 38:37So what did he do? He took this opportunity to
- 38:39propagate the true Muhammadan, Alawi and Fatimi Islam, the true
- 38:46Islam. And hence you find that he to
- 38:50his students he would propagate his velaya numerous times.
- 38:54They would ask him what is the greatest Nahma, would say
- 38:57velayatuna a little bit. Once they asked him what is the
- 39:00word Allah this Ismullah. I mean there's no word greater
- 39:05than this word alif. Then you have the lambs and then
- 39:10the ha. He says the alif this is his
- 39:13tawi like this is directly from the imam.
- 39:16Listen to this. He says the alif is Allah Allah
- 39:19which is nama. He says what is the nama?
- 39:24He says we laya and then the lambs that come follow the 2
- 39:29lamb. He says the lamb is for Altizam
- 39:32la Zim incumbent necessary wajib.
- 39:36What is that? He says our willaya and then the
- 39:40her at the end. He says that her is for halaqa
- 39:45perish for who are done our enemies.
- 39:50In other words, the name is more of a loss of hana.
- 39:53Wataala is willaya of Hellu bait, Tawali and at the same
- 40:01time a tabari. From the enemies of a little bit
- 40:05Allah cannot be reached without Muhammad Ali, Muhammad.
- 40:09So he took this opportunity to preach things like these to a
- 40:13wheel of a little bit tough seal of a little bit Hadis was not
- 40:16written. You remember Mamaya Salaam wrote
- 40:18the tough seal of the Quran, the Quran Ali, Quran Ali, he wrote
- 40:23it. He brought it to the caliphs.
- 40:25They said we don't want it. Now was the time to teach that
- 40:29to the people. So he used this time to try to
- 40:34undo the damage of Sativa. Yeah, yeah.
- 40:37Wow. A.
- 40:38Lot to take in seconds. But then from there I also
- 40:42thought, okay so this was a time to teach all those things that
- 40:46the Imams before might have not been able to because of the
- 40:51Abbas what no the Umayyad dynasty that was on top of them.
- 40:56So is it true when we see Imam Jaffar Sadak Sam online Ali had
- 41:01more freedom than his forefathers?
- 41:03Or was there still a bit of takaya during his time, you
- 41:06know, did he have freedom to teach whatever he wanted to to
- 41:10his students? Or was there still, I can't say
- 41:13this stuff. I know there's spies within my
- 41:16own classrooms. No, the whilst the omegas and
- 41:19the Abbas's are clashing and fighting, they're still aiming
- 41:23to me and they're still trying to get catch me out.
- 41:25Or was there? No did the the Imam see wait
- 41:28whilst they fight each other? Let me strengthen the Ummah of
- 41:33Muhammad, Al Muhammad, let me strengthen the ummah, and let me
- 41:36teach them of all those things that they could have been taught
- 41:39but weren't able to. If you get one.
- 41:42Yeah, so they, he definitely did have an opportunity that the
- 41:45other imams didn't have because of the the infighting between
- 41:50the, you know, the bastards and the Omar Ween.
- 41:54So he definitely had that time and like, and this what I said
- 41:57in the beginning that this is the reason why he needs to be
- 42:00studied the most because our narrations come directly from
- 42:03him. The most narrations are from
- 42:04Imam Asad al Kafi daheb, a list of SAR.
- 42:10The most narrations are from who the 6th Holy Imam.
- 42:16And despite this panel I did, you know, it brings me to the
- 42:19point that just this, the fact that he has the most narrations
- 42:23in our book and he's the teacher of Abu Hanifa and Malik, He
- 42:28doesn't have a single narration in Bukhari.
- 42:31Volub say this is Volub. It's hatred.
- 42:35It's more than that that tells you something about Bukhari.
- 42:38Again, it's another chapter we don't want to open.
- 42:41But why did Bukhari not write a single hadith from Imam Asad
- 42:45Ali, the teacher of them? There's so many narrations.
- 42:52Even if you don't take him as an Imam, you take him as a
- 42:55mujdahid. Put his narrations in there.
- 42:59But anyway, so that was the answer really.
- 43:01That was, you know, that was the time that the Holy Imam really
- 43:04did. So he had that.
- 43:06But of course there was the for the Shia, because you had the
- 43:10likes of Mansour Mansour, who had killed so many Shia that it
- 43:20is said that under his palace he had his, you know, his way, his
- 43:25daughter Halafa, he had underground tunnels, which of
- 43:28when he died, when they opened those rooms, there were skulls
- 43:31in there. The whose skulls are these?
- 43:33These are the Halloween that we've killed.
- 43:36So there was always, I don't think there was any time that it
- 43:38was without Takaya, but sometimes it was up, sometimes
- 43:41it was down. With he used to appear in his
- 43:44classes. Yeah, I like when he would
- 43:47teach. He would teach.
- 43:49We we would have to look at specific examples, but then that
- 43:54would defeat the purpose of. Teaching what?
- 43:55What about this hadith that we hear from Imam Assad that where
- 43:57he says zapia is my religion and the religion of my forefathers?
- 44:03What does he mean by that? Yeah, and one who does not have
- 44:05Tapia does not have Iman. Yes, this is misused.
- 44:11And and they say, look, you she has used Takia 24/7.
- 44:13You're Imam. Yeah, yeah.
- 44:15What is this whole hadith all about?
- 44:17So the Takia really is there. It's not for it's not for the
- 44:21Imam. Takiya is for the alarm is not
- 44:27so much for otherwise you know, you know, which Imam did Takiya
- 44:30really, which Imam did Takiya, which Imam ever prayed like
- 44:35this? Which Imam you know did woohoo
- 44:42the other way? Yes, there were certain times
- 44:46they would say certain things for the followers.
- 44:48Followers. For example, the hadith that
- 44:51exist for Zorara, he's praised, but at the same time he's
- 44:54condemned to save his life. OK, so there are certain
- 44:59traditions that have crept up like this.
- 45:02To save the life of the Shia is a Dean.
- 45:06You know the Dean. So what does it say if you don't
- 45:09have to? You don't have Iman, don't have
- 45:10Dean. What is Tahrir?
- 45:12Tahrir is basically the weapon of the oppressed, is the only
- 45:16weapon I have as an oppressed person.
- 45:19I'm going to get killed. I'm going to get, you know,
- 45:22beheaded. If they find out, I'm going to
- 45:25pray with the turba or they find out something in certain parts
- 45:30of the world, OK. For that reason, the Imam
- 45:32teaches them takiya. And takiya, by the way, is not
- 45:34nifak. As I said, this is nifak.
- 45:37It's not lying. It's not lying.
- 45:39It's concealing your faith to safeguard yourself in the face
- 45:43of a extreme takfiri enemy who's thirsty for your blood.
- 45:49That's all it is, is it's not that we are changing our belief.
- 45:53No, the heart still stays, stays full of Iman.
- 45:57Yes, temporarily, just for the Muslim to protect himself, to
- 46:01get out of this situation. You can save his life.
- 46:04You know what's wrong with that? So much knowledge about.
- 46:12A point of Tapia, we had a discussion on the ultimate
- 46:15podcast like many, many months back, where we spoke about
- 46:19Takiya when it came to Hamar al Nyah Salah al Allah, when he was
- 46:23seeing his mother being tortured.
- 46:26And then he came through the Salah and he said to him, you
- 46:28know what I I said, I don't, I don't believe in God.
- 46:30And then he asked him, what did your heart say?
- 46:33He said he believed in God. So there's so much things to go
- 46:36back to. Like even if you're not she and
- 46:37you listen to this episode thinking about what is Takiya?
- 46:39Was Takiya all about? Is there just ask the right
- 46:42questions and there are episodes on the podcast are just right
- 46:45Takiya and inshallah they will lead you to the right answers to
- 46:48the questions you may have. Say there's a question and note
- 46:51that I have down here that I wanted to ask, but I think it's
- 46:55the right time to possibly bring it into the discussion.
- 46:57Now people say there's a link between Imam Assadiq and about
- 47:04Abdullah Bossein Alayhi Salaam. For us, the way I see it is Imam
- 47:11Assadiq, he spent I think the first 1011 or 12 years on the
- 47:15Imam Zena Abedin Alayhi Salaam. So he'd he'd see how Imam Sajjad
- 47:21was affected by the events that took place in Karbala.
- 47:24His father as a young man was in Karbala.
- 47:28He'd see how his father would mourn and remember about
- 47:31Abdullah Hussein on the plains of Karbala.
- 47:34So there's a connection that I think we find where we can
- 47:39fairly say that Imam Sadiq had the connection to his
- 47:46grandfather, Imam Al Hussein. What is this link?
- 47:49There was a question we asked the Ramadan where we said what
- 47:52is the link between Leila Tadr and Fatmatizzahrah?
- 47:55How we put the connection together?
- 47:57What's the link between Imam Assad Alayhi Salaam and Imam
- 48:01Hussein Alayhi? Salaam, you can say he is the
- 48:07one, yeah. As I think the word I'm missing
- 48:10is Azadari of Imam Hussein. Right.
- 48:13So in fact, he, you could say he is the one who established OK,
- 48:19the azadari or the Aza of Imam Al Hussein Salaam because the
- 48:27majulist begins in his house. You know, today when you have a
- 48:31majulist, you have a lecture, you have somebody who recites
- 48:35the the know how the Latam or an issue.
- 48:41You know something for Imam Hussein Ali Salaam, the nai that
- 48:44exist in the time of Imam Asada Ali Saddam.
- 48:47And we have narrations of that him in his house.
- 48:50He would he would draw a curtain and he would have his the women
- 48:54of a little beta, the women of the household would sit on the
- 48:56other side of the curtain. He would sit on the other side
- 48:59with a MENA and he would invite the reciter and he would say
- 49:04recite for me something for my grandfather Hussein.
- 49:09And so there are there are names of certain Shara poets who would
- 49:15recite Cher. I've heard he was I've heard you
- 49:18recite Cher. Do you recite for my grandfather
- 49:20Hussein? That gives you the that shows
- 49:22you the importance of how much the Imams loved a poet who
- 49:26recites for Hussein Abdn Ali, one of them by the name of
- 49:30Jaffar Ibn al Fan. He would say, oh, Jaffar, I've
- 49:32heard you are a Shah, recite for me something for Hussein.
- 49:37And so he would recite for Imam Hussein Ali Salam.
- 49:39And he would say, I recited, I saw tears would begin to begin
- 49:43to flow from the eyes of Imam Asad al Salam.
- 49:47Then he I would end. And then Imam would say, no,
- 49:49recite more. And then he was recite more and
- 49:55he said you'd cry with a loud voice and then I would end.
- 49:59And it's strange because then he says the third time, no, recite
- 50:02more. There's a message in this.
- 50:06The Imam did not want short majalis.
- 50:10You know this whole short majalis.
- 50:12Let's keep it as short and sweet 13.
- 50:14Minute 1. Very short, the amount in one
- 50:17short majalis keep going says do it again, keep going, he says.
- 50:22Until I saw that he cried in a way that his, his shoulders
- 50:25would shake. You know, sometimes you cry and
- 50:28your shoulders move and he cried like that.
- 50:31And we would hear the ladies crying on the other side of the
- 50:33veil, on the side of the curtain.
- 50:37So Imam establishes the azadaria.
- 50:39So this is the connection with Sayyudu Shohada about Abdullah
- 50:42Hussein, that he establishes it in his house.
- 50:47So the second message for us today is to hold majlis in your
- 50:49house. You know, they are brothers.
- 50:52And you know, I've recited a lot of majlis in a lot of homes.
- 50:55Pan Allah, the mini do great, but they're still not mean who
- 50:58do not hold majlis in their homes.
- 51:00Hold majlis in your homes. This is a tradition that was
- 51:03started by Alul Beit, not by the Shia of a Lil bait, by a Lil
- 51:08bait themselves. Imam Rava Ali Salaam in his
- 51:11house, dabel come and recite, OK, Imam Sajad Ali Salaam, you
- 51:17would cry 30 years, he would see water, would cry #1 #2 whenever
- 51:23Imam Ali Salatu Salaam would drink water, Imam Masada, that
- 51:28water would remind him of his grandfather.
- 51:31He would say Salaam Ali Hussein and then he would say he would
- 51:34curse Allah, Allah and Yazidim in Waawi.
- 51:37He would curse the killers and he says it to the to the rahui
- 51:41of the hadith. Daoud ya Daoud.
- 51:43When you drink water, remember Imam Hussein Ali Salaam because
- 51:48Imam Hussein wanted that. Remember in, in, in, in Karbala
- 51:51and Ashura. When he says, Oh my yashi,
- 51:55whenever you drink water, remember the thirst of Hussein.
- 52:00So ABBA Abdullah Hussein Ali Salaam takes you directly to
- 52:05Imam Assad, Imam Assad Ali Assalam takes you directly back
- 52:08to Abdullah Hussain Ali Satos and this is that connection.
- 52:12And every Imam said and whether they say directly or not, but we
- 52:15have from the Imams Laom Kayomi Kayaba Abdullah.
- 52:21So he is the the founder of what we have to you know, when we go
- 52:25to the Majali who should take and brother Yasser, you are
- 52:29directly involved in the Hidma of the Majlis Al Hussein.
- 52:35This is a, you know, this is a an ammo you should cherish
- 52:38because these majalis you have today, they are directly the
- 52:43result of the hard work of Jafar Saadiq Ali Salaam Imam Jafar
- 52:47Saadi al Islam. What we have today is directly
- 52:49from them. What a beautiful way to put it.
- 52:52All my days you see it from a different perspective.
- 52:55We Allah protect yourself. I'll say I've generally seen you
- 53:00as well as yourself saying you know, the world of servitude and
- 53:05service and it's like a we say it's a hammer on top of us,
- 53:09right? It's like a tense.
- 53:11It gives us Barack protects us or something gives life meaning.
- 53:15I can't imagine life without any hidden.
- 53:16I think life will be not worth living.
- 53:18I'll be very honest with you say it.
- 53:22I think if I can ask a question in relation to the martyrdom of
- 53:29Iman Jafar Assad, that Khaliya Salah being the week of his
- 53:32jihad, I don't think many people understand or know how the Imam
- 53:38was killed. Oh.
- 53:42Oh, sorry, said. Or maybe like, not just how,
- 53:44but. Why, Yeah.
- 53:46So I think the why is so long because if they gave change,
- 53:49yeah. So if they gave him like so much
- 53:52flexibility, if they gave him, you know, some freedoms to teach
- 53:57and speak with the people and spend time with the Muslim Omar
- 54:01and you know, have years and ample years until today,
- 54:05Mashallah 10s of thousands of hadith for me, I'm Jafar Asadek.
- 54:08Why suddenly less silencing? Why?
- 54:10Why less poison him now? Like what happened?
- 54:12Did he become a danger to the Abbasid dynasty?
- 54:16And by the way, there's a point here, you know, you said we have
- 54:1910s of thousands of hadith from the holy man.
- 54:22Did you know our one book Al Kafi contains more traditions
- 54:29than the books of Muslim and Bukhari and Terminus you put
- 54:33together? Especially if you remove the
- 54:35repeated traditions, for example Bukhari.
- 54:38If you remove the traditions which are repeated same
- 54:41traditions again and again, you probably have less than 4000
- 54:45hadith Muslim similar. Whereas Al Kafi has 610 thousand
- 54:54narrations, majority of them come from Jafra Assad.
- 55:01That shows you how much I'll was spread from his holy tongue, his
- 55:06holy mouth. And this is exactly what Mansour
- 55:13could not take. His popularity was rising, his
- 55:16students were increasing. And by the way, Mansour for many
- 55:19years didn't touch, you know, OK, find that Omar, we and the
- 55:23Abbasid fight that took place, that happened.
- 55:28Now Khalafa Bani Abbas came. What were they doing?
- 55:33All right, the movies are gone now.
- 55:34Why don't you kill Mama Sadiq? Now you know what Mansour was
- 55:38busy in. He was bit.
- 55:40It is a historical point. He was busy in building the city
- 55:43of Baghdad, but that was built by Mansour.
- 55:48He was busy with that. He wanted to build a fine city,
- 55:52a city known for his beauty, for his buildings, for his bridges.
- 55:55Especially Baghdad is known for bridges.
- 55:59And hence this, you know, they put the coffin of Imam Musal
- 56:02Qadam on a bridge. Allah just really Baghdad,
- 56:05right? It's known for bridges
- 56:06historically. He was busy building that.
- 56:11And so the Imam you, the popularity began to rise.
- 56:14His students began to rise, the people around him.
- 56:18And so they killed him like like they would kill any other imam.
- 56:23It got to a point that they would realize that there is only
- 56:26one way out of this is to kill, to try to extinguish the Noor of
- 56:33Allah. And you cannot extinguish the
- 56:36Noor of Allah. The Imam was Noor Allah.
- 56:38They wanted to extinguish it like they did with the other
- 56:42aim. And so even before that
- 56:44actually, you know, before he, he was poisoned numerous times,
- 56:50but the poison didn't take effect.
- 56:53Did you know they burned the House of Mamasada Ali Salaam
- 56:56twice, Twice his house was burnt in Medina.
- 57:02I don't know what it is with the enemies of a little bit.
- 57:04They like to burn homes. There was other homes burnt.
- 57:08Homes. Tents, tents.
- 57:14The house was said, the Zara. They burned the house and the
- 57:18Imam came out onto his, you know, into his house and he
- 57:22would say, Anabnu, araka, Sarah, Anabnu, Ibrahim Khalilah.
- 57:27I'm the son of Ibrahim. I'm the son of Ismail.
- 57:30You don't know who I am. And so eventually, it's not that
- 57:34it was just quick poison done. They tortured him, they
- 57:37oppressed him, they burned his house.
- 57:39And he would cry and they would say to him, Abdullah, why do you
- 57:42cry? You're safe.
- 57:44Your children are safe. He says, yes, but I remember the
- 57:46burning of the tent or Aunt Zeynab.
- 57:53And so look at how Imam Masadhi takes us back to Karbala.
- 57:56He cries, he remembers, say the Zeynab, when somebody comes to
- 58:02him. And he says, Yabna Rasulullah,
- 58:03Allah has blessed me with the daughter.
- 58:04What have you named her? I've named her Fatima.
- 58:07Again he cries, Fatima. Yeah.
- 58:08Fatima, make sure you never slap your daughter because you
- 58:14remember those laps. And so because of that Mansoor
- 58:20now decided that it was time to poison the Holy Imam.
- 58:23And so in the month of Shawal, the famous date is the 25th of
- 58:29Shawal. I know some centres also do 15th
- 58:32of Shawal. But 25th being the more famous
- 58:35date is that the Holy Imam left this dunya and was buried in
- 58:40Jannatul Bahi. And that's another.
- 58:42This adds to the oppression that has just been 100 years
- 58:46according to the Gregorian calendar, that the grave amount
- 58:51Sada Ali Salaam still is without a Dome.
- 58:54Why should you not have a Dome? The teacher of Yuri Mams, Abu
- 59:02Hanifa and Mali, why can you not have a Dome?
- 59:06Why can we not give that respect?
- 59:08You know, I say this in this podcast tonight that I am proud
- 59:14to be Jaffari because at least I can say my Imam was the teacher
- 59:18of your imams, not vice versa. Every she I should take pride in
- 59:24his identity. Every she I should be a proud,
- 59:27you know, with the social media and podcasts and YouTube and
- 59:32reels and all of that, what's happening in on on the Internet,
- 59:37people are having difficult conversations and it's fine to
- 59:40have them in a respectful, polite, scholarly manner.
- 59:45And so we say respectfully that we are proud Jafaris.
- 59:48We are proud as Shia of Jafar Asadeh.
- 59:50It's not time to be shy anymore. There's no time to hide your
- 59:54faith, proclaim your faith, say you're a Jafari.
- 59:58How many times you, you know you?
- 59:59How many times has happened with the youth when their
- 1:00:01universities at work? You go into a prayer room, you
- 1:00:04pray, they ask which must have do you follow?
- 1:00:08I remember happened to. I'm sure it's happened to you,
- 1:00:11your prayer with your colleagues, they may ask you or
- 1:00:14somebody in the prayer will ask you which mother.
- 1:00:17I used to pray in sixth form back in the days when I was
- 1:00:19like, I think I was age 16, if I'm not mistaken.
- 1:00:21And we'll always have issues, like we'll end up having debates
- 1:00:25like, why you praying on a turbo?
- 1:00:26Like, I wish, Why not suddenly like, you're right.
- 1:00:29You're absolutely right, you know.
- 1:00:29Take it with a pride. Today at work, my colleague
- 1:00:33asked me why you wearing the ring?
- 1:00:35I told him it's the son of us, Allah.
- 1:00:37He says. Ah, that's, it's a Jeffrey
- 1:00:38thing, right? That's how they think.
- 1:00:42It's good. So he knows, yeah.
- 1:00:44I didn't see those. They know they.
- 1:00:45I didn't see those that origin here.
- 1:00:47No, it's, I remember. They know, and let's remind
- 1:00:49them. I've had the same situation and
- 1:00:53people would ask which mother hub are you?
- 1:00:57They want to give you a choice at times.
- 1:00:59Are you humbly? Are you Shafi?
- 1:01:02Or because we pray with the hands down.
- 1:01:03Are you Maliki? You know why Malik prays with
- 1:01:07the hands down? Because he preferred the
- 1:01:08opinions of Ehlul Medina. Because in Medina I saw people
- 1:01:12pray with their hands down. Abu Hanifa, you know, from Iraq
- 1:01:16and Shafa is in Iraq and then Egypt.
- 1:01:19I'm from Medina. People in Medina pray their
- 1:01:22hands down. That Imam Masada Alayhi Salaam
- 1:01:25is from the best household of Medina.
- 1:01:29He's the chief of Medina. So take pride in the Jafari
- 1:01:34faith that our Imam is the teacher.
- 1:01:37And when do you pro? You cannot prefer the student of
- 1:01:39the teacher #1 #2 is directly from the household of the
- 1:01:43Prophet, direct descendant of the Prophet, and #3 his loom,
- 1:01:48his, you know his chain. When Imam Masadhi would narrate
- 1:01:51in his class, his chain was only three to four.
- 1:01:54I heard from my father, who heard from his father, who heard
- 1:01:58from Ali, who heard from the Prophet.
- 1:02:01Whereas others would go left and right here and there, trying to
- 1:02:04build a chain. The best, the best chain, as
- 1:02:07they say. Yeah, the Golden Chain.
- 1:02:11And they would say that if you narrate this on the majnoon, you
- 1:02:15know his junoon would go. There's shifa in this, shifa in
- 1:02:19this. Where do you find this Silsila?
- 1:02:22Only with Imam Jaffar Sadiq. So take pride today when you
- 1:02:26meet people on social media, take pride to be a job for you
- 1:02:29have nothing to hide. In fact, we have more.
- 1:02:30That's what I'm saying. There's famous history and these
- 1:02:32are which are not discussed. We have so much gems to share.
- 1:02:35You're so right saying that. So right.
- 1:02:37There's so much more out there. There is there.
- 1:02:39Are inshallah slowly, slowly inshallah you can bring it out
- 1:02:42onto your your podcast. In Charlotte, we try our best.
- 1:02:45We are doing this in Charlotte today with you saying that
- 1:02:47yourself. In Charlotte, this is.
- 1:02:52Say Mushtaba if I can ask, say Mushtaba in the background.
- 1:02:56Our viewers are very used to your name by now.
- 1:02:58As a Shiite, if I can ask you as someone who runs a Shia Muslim
- 1:03:03platform content creation, do you think I'm going to ask you
- 1:03:10like sincerity? Do you think you're 6 Imam?
- 1:03:14Imam Jafar Assad is proud of the work that after Muslim is doing
- 1:03:18in your own opinion? Difficult one.
- 1:03:22Last shouldn't be difficult. I think for what we put out
- 1:03:30there, there's still a lot more we can do.
- 1:03:32Sense. Especially as a Shiite
- 1:03:35community, we're not. I don't think we're, we've
- 1:03:37reached our full potential. But if you want to say us as a
- 1:03:40team, I think we're we're doing as much as we can.
- 1:03:44OK. But there's still a lot more
- 1:03:46that we can do. Sense.
- 1:03:48No, you're absolutely right. You know, someone was asked me,
- 1:03:51they were, they were saying, you know what, you guys are doing so
- 1:03:53much. I was like, you think we do so
- 1:03:55much. Well, there's so much that we
- 1:03:56haven't done. And that's the madness about it,
- 1:03:59is that. Like the the podcast for us was
- 1:04:01supposed to be just the the starting point to delve into a
- 1:04:04whole world of content creation. Yeah.
- 1:04:07Whether it's like different categories of podcasts or
- 1:04:10different styles of shows or vlogs or just general YouTube
- 1:04:14type of shows. But it's just it's so much work
- 1:04:19and obviously it depends on the viewers support.
- 1:04:22That's exactly why I asked the question.
- 1:04:24I was going to say it's important.
- 1:04:25And Charlotte, the listeners and viewers at home, you know, they
- 1:04:28take inspiration from the conversations that we have here
- 1:04:30week in, week out. Please, please support after
- 1:04:33Maghrib. It's important that we can rely
- 1:04:35on your generous contributions. Visit aftermaghrib.com and
- 1:04:39consider becoming a monthly partner with Aftermath.
- 1:04:42I think that. The easiest way is for people to
- 1:04:44buy merch now. At least you get something back
- 1:04:46that way. If if you feel like you want to
- 1:04:48take part in the podcast. And how can they buy the match
- 1:04:51after dot? Com.
- 1:04:52Forward slash shop Forward slash shop I have to plug in.
- 1:04:58Code Ahmed for 10% off. Code Ahmed for 10% off saying
- 1:05:02that's a real code. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:04We made the last week said I wanted to thank you and thank
- 1:05:08you for sharing with us your knowledge, your your words of
- 1:05:12wisdom and your advice. There's so many things that I, I
- 1:05:15picked on that I never really thought about in, in in a deep
- 1:05:19sense, if I can say. And I there's definitely so much
- 1:05:22lessons that those watching and listening all around the world
- 1:05:24that can implement in their lives and look forward to
- 1:05:27learning more from this amazing Imam, Imam Jafar Asad Ali
- 1:05:30Salaam. And condolences to the listeners
- 1:05:33all around the world and to the Imam of our time on the
- 1:05:35martyrdom of Imam Jafar Asadiq Ali Salaam said thank you for
- 1:05:39your time. Thank you Arthur.
- 1:05:41It's been an amazing Co hosting alongside you it.
- 1:05:43Was an honour to be with you once again, said.
- 1:05:46Thank you said for your. Allah bless.
- 1:05:48You. Well, honestly.
- 1:05:50I think I'll answer the question that I think Imam or Sadiq Ali
- 1:05:52Salam would be very happy and proud of you both and all three
- 1:05:56of you, the whole team. Because anyone who says one
- 1:05:59praise for the Imam, that does not go unrewarded or unanswered,
- 1:06:04you send salutations on them, you send salams to them, they
- 1:06:07reply to your Salaam. It's something you're doing to
