- 0:27Speaker 1: and parental discretion is advised. It's showtime, folks.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Enjoy the show. Our nuclear reactor pumping out one.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Million kilowatts of power.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Five more cooling in the containment chamber.
- 1:17Speaker 2: To your stations, we have a movie meltdown.
- 1:20Speaker 1: That kid is back on the escalator again! Leave it alone!
- 1:31Speaker 3: What?
- 1:34Speaker 1: What's up? Welcome to Movie Meltdown. I'm Brian.
- 1:36Speaker 3: I'm Misty.
- 1:37Speaker 1: And we're coming to you live via digital recording from Lexington,
- 1:40Speaker 1: home of the Lexington Comic and Toy Convention. Oh, shit!
- 1:45Speaker 3: Sorry, there were geese. They took off.
- 1:47Speaker 1: You're out of control. Okay.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Go ahead.
- 1:49Speaker 1: They're on top of the building. Now they're scoping you
- 1:53Speaker 1: out from far. They're going to sniper your ass.
- 1:54Speaker 3: We're sitting in a parking lot, and there are geese.
- 1:57Speaker 3: And they have been eyeballing me for quite some time.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Looking at me crossways. They want to start some shit.
- 2:02Speaker 3: And I'm pretty sure they scared the hell out of
- 2:05Speaker 3: me because geese are fucking scary.
- 2:07Speaker 1: They're coming for you. And we're coming for you live
- 2:12Speaker 1: from the parking lot of this area right here, where
- 2:15Speaker 1: we have just left the Lexington Comic and Toy Convention.
- 2:19Speaker 1: And it was pretty awesome.
- 2:20Speaker 3: It was fantastic. Our feet's hurt.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. I am worn out, as does not take
- 2:26Speaker 1: much these days.
- 2:27Speaker 3: It is a large convention, and there was a lot
- 2:30Speaker 3: of walking.
- 2:31Speaker 1: People's walking around.
- 2:32Speaker 3: And these feet are not made for walking anymore.
- 2:35Speaker 1: They have a.
- 2:36Speaker 3: They've not walked much because we've become a very stationary people.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Yeah, even more so in the last two years. No
- 2:44Speaker 1: Nancy Sinatra for you.
- 2:46Speaker 3: I'm not wearing boots, I'm wearing chucks.
- 2:48Speaker 1: These chucks ain't made for walking because they hurt my feet.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Don't get me wrong, I'm wearing them right now, but
- 2:54Speaker 1: my feet hurt.
- 2:54Speaker 3: I'm wearing my lucky chucks today.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I'm wearing my limited edition, custom tailored.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Mine are custom.
- 3:06Speaker 1: I know, so are these.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Somebody else's name is stitched on the back of them
- 3:08Speaker 3: because I got them on eBay.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Mine says Meltdown on the back. I'm not making that up.
- 3:14Speaker 1: It's a sad thing.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Team I-C-C-U? I don't know. I tried to take Sharpie
- 3:21Speaker 3: and roll over it, but they were awesome.
- 3:22Speaker 1: But the color options on all of mine were like
- 3:25Speaker 1: black and black and black and black. So you can't
- 3:27Speaker 1: even see what it says because I made everything black.
- 3:29Speaker 1: So no surprise there. That's how I roll. So people.
- 3:35Speaker 1: We saw people. One person in particular. Are you ready
- 3:39Speaker 1: to jump right to it or do you want to
- 3:41Speaker 1: wait and ease our way in? I don't know.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Do we want to build suspense?
- 3:44Speaker 1: We saw a person. We saw a person that.
- 3:47Speaker 3: We've seen before. One of my favorite people.
- 3:50Speaker 1: We can throw that hint out if you've been playing along,
- 3:52Speaker 1: playing the home game. Nobody cares.
- 3:56Speaker 3: I showed Ray Wise my tattoo that I have of
- 3:59Speaker 3: him on my arm. And he seemed fairly surprised and excited.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Last time we were hanging out with Ray Wise, who
- 4:07Speaker 1: is awesome. Back then, and we knew going in, he's
- 4:10Speaker 1: also still going to be awesome.
- 4:11Speaker 3: And gorgeous.
- 4:12Speaker 1: But you didn't have it back then.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Like a fine wine. I don't like wine, but I
- 4:16Speaker 3: like Ray Wise.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Fine cheese? Cheese is aged nicely.
- 4:21Speaker 3: I like cheese.
- 4:21Speaker 1: There you go. He's like a fine cheese.
- 4:24Speaker 3: He's so gorgeous.
- 4:26Speaker 1: He's looking pretty good, I gotta say.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Did we just say he was 74?
- 4:29Speaker 1: I think so, which does not seem right. I mean, math-wise,
- 4:32Speaker 1: I get it. He's been in movies for a long time.
- 4:35Speaker 1: But looking at him, I would not have guessed that
- 4:38Speaker 1: if I didn't know the math.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:41Speaker 1: But I said I think it helps. That's what I
- 4:43Speaker 1: was saying earlier. Because the main thing most people know
- 4:46Speaker 1: him from is Twin Peaks. And midway into his run
- 4:49Speaker 1: on Twin Peaks, he gets white hair. So now he's
- 4:52Speaker 1: just aged into his white hair and he looks just
- 4:54Speaker 1: like he did 30 some odd years ago. So he
- 4:57Speaker 1: just looks like he did when we were all kids.
- 4:59Speaker 1: And that's a magical thing. So good for you, Ray Wise.
- 5:02Speaker 3: And Bobby Bobby looks good too, but I'm not going
- 5:04Speaker 3: to tattoo a Bobby.
- 5:07Speaker 1: The fact that we were in the room with him
- 5:08Speaker 1: and you didn't just walk up and go, Bobby, Bobby, Bobby, Bobby.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I'm smacking my hand.
- 5:13Speaker 3: At him too. I couldn't smack him across two tables
- 5:16Speaker 3: to get to it.
- 5:17Speaker 1: That's true. They were double tabling up this time. It's
- 5:20Speaker 1: the post-COVID era. Nobody was super masked up most of
- 5:24Speaker 1: the time.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Except for Bobby.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Except for Bobby. Bobby liked his mask. But they doubled
- 5:29Speaker 1: up tables on a lot of the people. So you
- 5:30Speaker 1: had like an extra table. Some of them you'd still
- 5:34Speaker 1: walk around the table and do a selfie, which does
- 5:36Speaker 1: kind of defeat the purpose. But I feel like that's
- 5:38Speaker 1: everything that's happened over the last two years. It's like
- 5:40Speaker 1: we come up with a rule and then we'd be
- 5:42Speaker 1: doing this other thing over here, which totally contradicted that rule.
- 5:45Speaker 1: And I'm like, I don't think we know what the
- 5:47Speaker 1: hell we're doing. So I still think we don't know
- 5:49Speaker 1: what the hell we're doing.
- 5:50Speaker 3: All I know is I walked by Ray Wise's table
- 5:53Speaker 3: and I show my tattoo to the person at his
- 5:55Speaker 3: table and she was like, oh my God. And she
- 5:58Speaker 3: said something to him and he's like, oh my God,
- 5:59Speaker 3: that's me from Reaper when I had my get out
- 6:04Speaker 3: of hell free car. Like he immediately.
- 6:06Speaker 1: He ID'd it right on site. He's like, that's me
- 6:10Speaker 1: and I know where it's from.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Because it's like, it's a very brief, like I had to,
- 6:14Speaker 3: it took me a while to even find a still
- 6:16Speaker 3: of the card from the show Reaper to find a
- 6:20Speaker 3: good clear image to have it made into a tattoo
- 6:22Speaker 3: on my arm. So he took a picture of it.
- 6:26Speaker 3: I am now. And what did he say?
- 6:27Speaker 1: First of all, he grabbed your arm. He did.
- 6:29Speaker 3: He grabbed my arm.
- 6:30Speaker 1: He held your arm for a long time because he
- 6:32Speaker 1: had to hang on to it while he got the
- 6:33Speaker 1: other girl's attention from the other side of the two tables.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Who also immediately recognized it.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Who also immediately recognized it and also wanted to take
- 6:40Speaker 1: a picture. And then he held it there in place
- 6:42Speaker 1: while she took her photo and then he got his
- 6:44Speaker 1: phone out. So he held your arm for like a
- 6:46Speaker 1: really long time. I think that means you two were
- 6:49Speaker 1: like engaged and shit.
- 6:50Speaker 3: I'm okay with that.
- 6:52Speaker 1: What did he say?
- 6:52Speaker 3: He said it was in like his photo album now
- 6:54Speaker 3: or some shit.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Yeah. So you are on his phone, not the other
- 6:57Speaker 1: way around, which is also true. It is. Because you
- 7:00Speaker 1: showed the other peoples with us your photo of you
- 7:03Speaker 1: and him and him like laying a big kiss on you.
- 7:06Speaker 3: It's the best picture ever.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Which is also, yeah, the thing that happened last time
- 7:10Speaker 1: we saw him. He just planted one on you.
- 7:12Speaker 3: When prices were reasonable.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Well, the world changes. It's a crazy place.
- 7:17Speaker 3: It's just bananas. It's just full out bananas.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I can't afford much. I have to save up for
- 7:24Speaker 1: cheesy movies that I may or may not watch for
- 7:27Speaker 1: a future episode.
- 7:28Speaker 3: I remember back in the good old day where if
- 7:29Speaker 3: you purchased an autograph, generally you could take a selfie
- 7:32Speaker 3: with the person.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Which I don't think is out of control. That seems reasonable.
- 7:38Speaker 3: But to have like $ 60 for an autograph, $ 60 for
- 7:40Speaker 3: a selfie.
- 7:41Speaker 1: What?
- 7:44Speaker 3: Hold on now.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Or just to take a selfie with somebody. Like, to
- 7:47Speaker 1: just walk up and be like, hey, can we get
- 7:48Speaker 1: a selfie? And that's $ 60 for a crappy, you-holding-your-own-phone selfie
- 7:54Speaker 1: on your probably good quality phone, more than likely. I mean,
- 7:56Speaker 1: it's different than it was, you know, 10 years ago
- 7:58Speaker 1: on flip phones. Now at least it's a good quality
- 8:01Speaker 1: camera on your phone. But still, selfies, not great.
- 8:05Speaker 3: We went to the Q & A, too. We went
- 8:06Speaker 3: to the Twin Peaks Q & A, which, oh, good Lord,
- 8:11Speaker 3: I love them guys. And what's her name? Kimmy Robertson?
- 8:14Speaker 1: Yep, Kimmy.
- 8:15Speaker 3: She is just so damn adorable. And her voice.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Here's the thing I wanted to say sitting there, because
- 8:21Speaker 1: to balance out what we just said, Kimmy looks freaking great. Like,
- 8:26Speaker 1: looking at her, I was like, there's no way in
- 8:28Speaker 1: hell I would have guessed. I mean, just based on
- 8:31Speaker 1: the fact that she was on Twin Peaks originally.
- 8:33Speaker 3: I mean, I have no idea how old she actually is.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know, but she sure as hell doesn't
- 8:37Speaker 1: look that old.
- 8:38Speaker 3: And she told stories that were so adorable.
- 8:41Speaker 1: In her gimme voice.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Yep, it's just, it's the cutest thing.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Because they did have two cancellations for the Twin Peaks reunion,
- 8:49Speaker 3: so Cheryl and Finn and Cheryl Lee were not there,
- 8:52Speaker 3: but they did bring in Billy Zane.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Who might be crazy, but was certainly funny this time.
- 8:58Speaker 3: He did have one of the best.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I'd say the best line of the whole little Q
- 9:03Speaker 1: & A. And it was a joke. And it was
- 9:05Speaker 1: a slam on Ray Wise. But Ray took it nicely
- 9:08Speaker 1: and didn't just dick him. I was like, you don't know, man.
- 9:11Speaker 1: He could have just taken you out.
- 9:12Speaker 3: I think he'd take him in a fight.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm putting my money on Ray Wise. He's a scrapper.
- 9:16Speaker 1: He's Satan and a scrapper. So, you know, you don't
- 9:19Speaker 1: mess with Ray Wise.
- 9:20Speaker 3: So charismatic.
- 9:26Speaker 1: But yeah, the Q & A was fun. We heard stories.
- 9:30Speaker 3: I heard Ray Wise and did they both do their
- 9:34Speaker 3: David Lynch impression?
- 9:35Speaker 1: Definitely. Ray Wise did his. Oh, and Dana. Dana likes
- 9:40Speaker 1: to talk. He's entertaining. He was good to have there
- 9:43Speaker 1: because he just kind of kept things rolling with other
- 9:45Speaker 1: people like several of the others. Like Harry didn't want
- 9:47Speaker 1: to talk at all. What was his name on the show?
- 9:50Speaker 3: Andy.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Andy. Andy didn't want to talk much every once in
- 9:53Speaker 1: a while. He was also wearing like he's slowly turning
- 9:57Speaker 1: into Andy Warhol. Andy Warhol, yeah. He had, like, big,
- 10:00Speaker 1: giant Andy Warhol-looking kind of sunglasses. They might have just
- 10:04Speaker 1: been regular glasses, but he wasn't wearing them at the
- 10:06Speaker 1: Q & A, but when he went back to his table,
- 10:08Speaker 1: he had these big, giant plastic glasses on, and his
- 10:11Speaker 1: hair's kind of long and swoopy in front, so he's
- 10:13Speaker 1: starting to get an Andy Warhol thing going.
- 10:16Speaker 3: I still wish they'd brought in Everett McGill for 30 years.
- 10:21Speaker 1: I wanted to bring the giant. I wanted to bring
- 10:23Speaker 1: the little man from another place.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Is the giant still alive?
- 10:25Speaker 1: No, he's not. That's why I think it would be
- 10:27Speaker 1: really impressive if they brought him.
- 10:28Speaker 3: But the little man's still alive.
- 10:30Speaker 1: I think the little man's still around. Who else did
- 10:33Speaker 1: they bring? They should bring all kinds. The log lady.
- 10:35Speaker 1: They definitely need to bring the log lady.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Well, they can't.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I know. I'm picking dead people, dammit.
- 10:40Speaker 3: We're picking dead people.
- 10:43Speaker 1: But they did talk about the log lady.
- 10:44Speaker 3: At least I'm being realistic. I want Everett McGill, who
- 10:47Speaker 3: as far as I... It's Twin Peaks!
- 10:49Speaker 1: Everything's realistic in Twin Peaks.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Even Ray Wise was like, I know, because that was
- 10:53Speaker 3: his whole thing for when the new.
- 10:54Speaker 1: When the Returns Series 3 or whatever came out.
- 10:58Speaker 3: He was like, look, David Lynch, I know my character
- 11:00Speaker 3: is dead.
- 11:01Speaker 1: But it's Twin Peaks. Come on.
- 11:03Speaker 3: I'm a twin brother.
- 11:04Speaker 1: I feel like we can work around that. And I think, yeah,
- 11:09Speaker 1: he's right.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Look for him.
- 11:10Speaker 1: He's in there.
- 11:15Speaker 3: There were a lot of people at the convention today.
- 11:17Speaker 1: There were lots of people. Again, you never know at
- 11:19Speaker 1: this point. We're coming out of such a weird shift
- 11:21Speaker 1: in the world that I'm like, is everybody going to come?
- 11:24Speaker 1: Is nobody going to come?
- 11:25Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 11:26Speaker 3: There were so many people. They had a... Escalator.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Nazis.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Escalator Nazis. I was thinking Escalator Nazis, but then I'm like,
- 11:37Speaker 3: maybe I shouldn't go there. Maybe I should go Escalator Babysitters.
- 11:39Speaker 1: I mean, either way. But the one was pretty hardcore.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Because she wouldn't let someone put their child in danger.
- 11:47Speaker 1: What a jerk. They wanted to take their stroller on
- 11:50Speaker 1: the escalator.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Where are those even pictures on there?
- 11:52Speaker 1: Have you ever been to a mall or a giant
- 11:55Speaker 1: store with tools levels that let you put strollers on
- 11:58Speaker 1: an escalator? Has that ever been a thing? Because I'm
- 12:00Speaker 1: pretty sure I've seen the Ghostbusters symbol on your stroller everywhere,
- 12:04Speaker 1: any place I've ever been.
- 12:06Speaker 3: So yeah, they were not happy. Nope. But they were like,
- 12:10Speaker 3: they only let a certain amount of people on the
- 12:11Speaker 3: escalator at one time. Because although this is a new building,
- 12:13Speaker 3: apparently they still don't have the escalators built to handle
- 12:17Speaker 3: the mass.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Quantities? Yeah. Volume?
- 12:23Speaker 3: I was going to say convergence. The mass convergence of
- 12:27Speaker 3: comic nerds.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Yeah. You would think. I mean, they're attached to one
- 12:31Speaker 1: of the bigger, certainly the biggest, or at one time
- 12:34Speaker 1: probably the biggest indoor sports stadiums. sports you know sports
- 12:41Speaker 1: but they were attached to like the biggest one in
- 12:43Speaker 1: the state at one point are you a fan of
- 12:44Speaker 1: the sports are you i've heard of them but yeah
- 12:48Speaker 1: i don't go.
- 12:48Speaker 3: There to watch the sports ball um.
- 12:50Speaker 1: No i went to see concerts many a time but
- 12:52Speaker 1: i don't think i've ever seen a sports ball there
- 12:55Speaker 1: i've been to the one in our town but again
- 12:56Speaker 1: mostly to see concerts i did the closest thing was
- 13:00Speaker 1: at that stadium where they play sports i saw the
- 13:02Speaker 1: harlem globetrotters which is my kind of sports Because they, like,
- 13:06Speaker 1: stand on the rim and shit. So, like, that's the
- 13:08Speaker 1: kind of sports I can get. And they hung out
- 13:10Speaker 1: with Scooby-Doo.
- 13:12Speaker 3: I went to a high school basketball game once when
- 13:14Speaker 3: I was a... High school? Yeah, high school. I don't
- 13:17Speaker 3: know why. It was awful.
- 13:19Speaker 1: You were not entertained?
- 13:20Speaker 3: I just think we sat in the bleachers and just
- 13:22Speaker 3: made fun of everybody.
- 13:23Speaker 1: The hell you say.
- 13:24Speaker 3: I know. Then I had to run home because I
- 13:25Speaker 3: forgot that I left candles burning in my room. And
- 13:27Speaker 3: I was like, holy shit, I'm going to burn the
- 13:28Speaker 3: house down. And I had to run home.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Did we not at one point go to a basketball game?
- 13:34Speaker 1: Not to watch the basketball game, but specifically to see
- 13:37Speaker 1: Phillip play music. Did we? I'm pretty sure we did once.
- 13:40Speaker 3: I don't remember.
- 13:43Speaker 1: I think we've called him out. Well, we've mentioned many
- 13:44Speaker 1: a time he's a drummer, but I think we've called
- 13:46Speaker 1: him out for being in band before. And yeah, I
- 13:48Speaker 1: think at one point they were doing some sort of
- 13:49Speaker 1: special band thing at the game, and we went and
- 13:53Speaker 1: sat through a game specifically to see him do the thing.
- 13:55Speaker 1: What kind of game? I'm pretty sure it was basketball.
- 13:57Speaker 3: I don't remember this.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Because we were indoors. I mean, we wouldn't go sit outside. Oh, God.
- 14:03Speaker 1: But yeah, that's our involvement with sports. We saw Phillip
- 14:06Speaker 1: play drums one time.
- 14:09Speaker 3: I don't remember any of this.
- 14:10Speaker 1: You don't even remember it.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Are you sure I was there?
- 14:12Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure you were there. I don't... Anyway.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Maybe it was a Mandela universe where I actually went
- 14:20Speaker 3: to a sports game because I don't remember this.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Oh, man. But there, yeah, there's a lot of people
- 14:27Speaker 1: and they were just like, I liked it better when
- 14:29Speaker 1: I just thought everybody was afraid of the moving steps.
- 14:32Speaker 1: They were like, ah, what are they? Like, these people
- 14:34Speaker 1: haven't been out of the house in so long, they
- 14:35Speaker 1: don't know what an escalator is. Because for a while,
- 14:37Speaker 1: it just looked like they were just all stopped in
- 14:39Speaker 1: front of it, like, oh, what is it doing? These
- 14:41Speaker 1: stairs are moving. People just don't know how to handle it.
- 14:45Speaker 1: It was just the babysitters keeping them out.
- 14:47Speaker 3: People don't know how to handle the whole thing. It's like...
- 14:49Speaker 3: We get off the elevator and everybody just stopped.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Well, escalator.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Yeah, what did I say? Elevator?
- 14:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Escalator. You know what I mean.
- 14:56Speaker 1: But yeah, do you get to the top of it
- 14:58Speaker 1: and just stop and stand in place when you get there?
- 15:01Speaker 3: Apparently you do.
- 15:02Speaker 1: No, especially not in a crowd of people, but that's
- 15:05Speaker 1: what they were doing.
- 15:06Speaker 3: They needed a babysitter at that section to usher people.
- 15:10Speaker 1: With the light up flashlights from the airport to just
- 15:13Speaker 1: be like, come on, come on through. Here we go.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Keep on walking. But no.
- 15:18Speaker 3: But they did have an amazing lineup as far as
- 15:19Speaker 3: celebrities and guests this year.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:21Speaker 3: I mean, most of the people that I would have got,
- 15:23Speaker 3: I already had.
- 15:25Speaker 1: We've hit several of the Twin Peaks people, and that
- 15:27Speaker 1: was the ones I was all interested in.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Still waiting on Mark Singer, bitches.
- 15:32Speaker 1: And I wanted to.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Hang out with her. I even wore my Beastmaster shirt.
- 15:36Speaker 1: That's true. She did.
- 15:38Speaker 3: But then I wore a hoodie all day, so nobody
- 15:40Speaker 3: saw it.
- 15:41Speaker 1: So nobody got it. Well, I want to hang out
- 15:43Speaker 1: with Ron Perlman, who was there, but he didn't come
- 15:46Speaker 1: over and be like, hey, can I be on the show?
- 15:48Speaker 1: So now here we are.
- 15:48Speaker 3: He didn't have a tattoo of him.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I mean, he couldn't see it from far away. There
- 15:52Speaker 1: was a lot of people in his line. I would
- 15:54Speaker 1: have had to, like, blow it up into poster size.
- 15:56Speaker 3: You're just disappointed he wasn't wearing the complete and full
- 15:59Speaker 3: Hellboy outfit.
- 16:00Speaker 1: I did say. I was like, if he was committed,
- 16:02Speaker 1: come on. He'd get up at, like, 2 in the
- 16:03Speaker 1: morning and start putting on his Hellboy makeup and then
- 16:05Speaker 1: go out there and sit there and sweat and sign
- 16:08Speaker 1: and latex and paint all day long. I don't feel
- 16:13Speaker 1: like that would go over real well. Eventually, maybe he'll
- 16:16Speaker 1: do like a photo op in it.
- 16:17Speaker 3: But at that point, why does it have to be
- 16:19Speaker 3: Ron Perlman? Because there's so much fucking makeup involved.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I think that one still looks like Ron Perlman. I
- 16:23Speaker 1: think the face comes through because you saw the new
- 16:25Speaker 1: one and it's not Ron Perlman.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Actually, no, I did not see the new one.
- 16:29Speaker 1: You know it exists. Nobody saw it. I didn't see it.
- 16:31Speaker 1: I've seen the other two Ron Perlman ones. I didn't
- 16:34Speaker 1: see the new one. No offense to the Stranger Things guy.
- 16:36Speaker 1: I'm sure he's cool and all, but I don't think
- 16:38Speaker 1: anybody really was into his version of Hellboy.
- 16:40Speaker 3: I thought he had.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Mila in it, though. Yeah, I don't know. Nobody seemed
- 16:44Speaker 1: to take to that one. And I already hear the
- 16:47Speaker 1: nerds clamoring to, like, take that one out of continuity
- 16:50Speaker 1: and nor the universe that it may not exist in
- 16:52Speaker 1: the same universe anyway. But they want him to come
- 16:54Speaker 1: back and do another Ron Perlman one.
- 16:57Speaker 3: David Harbour, is that his name? Yeah, I think so.
- 17:00Speaker 3: It was in there somewhere. It just took me a minute.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I don't even try anymore. I just know everybody's name
- 17:05Speaker 1: is a big blur and I've forgotten about them, so.
- 17:08Speaker 1: But yeah, the way the nerds are, I think that's
- 17:10Speaker 1: what they want. I think they want to skip over
- 17:12Speaker 1: that one and just put another one. Probably being Doug
- 17:15Speaker 1: back in the suit.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Doug's delightful, though.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Everybody loves Doug. Come on. Who doesn't? Surprised he wasn't there.
- 17:22Speaker 1: But it's been a long time since I've seen Doug.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Because I could have had like a photo op.
- 17:26Speaker 1: You would think. I think years ago it was supposed
- 17:29Speaker 1: to be like that. And then I think Ron Perlman
- 17:32Speaker 1: ended up having to cancel. And that's like one of
- 17:34Speaker 1: the last ones Doug was at, maybe.
- 17:36Speaker 3: Because.
- 17:36Speaker 1: I think they tried to do that at one point,
- 17:38Speaker 1: and then it's just not schedule-wise worked out for the
- 17:41Speaker 1: both of them. So, I don't know. You guys are
- 17:43Speaker 1: just going to have to travel around to get both
- 17:45Speaker 1: of them on your piece of paper.
- 17:46Speaker 3: And more importantly, bring back Mark Singer. Well, actually, you
- 17:49Speaker 3: can't bring back somebody who's never been there.
- 17:50Speaker 1: He's never made it there. He keeps canceling. He's still
- 17:54Speaker 1: out there, though. He's just dodging you. I know.
- 17:57Speaker 3: There's a list of certain people that I desperately want
- 18:00Speaker 3: to get their autograph in person before they're no longer around.
- 18:05Speaker 3: And Mark Singer's one of them. And fucking Don Coscarelli
- 18:09Speaker 3: scared the bejesus out of me the other day.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I thought you meant originally when you saw him when
- 18:15Speaker 1: he was like throwing that silver ball at your face. No, no, no, no, no.
- 18:18Speaker 3: He posted a picture of like Clancy Brown and was like,
- 18:22Speaker 3: it was a fucking joy working with this great actor.
- 18:25Speaker 3: And I'm like, hold on.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Don't do that, buddy.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Apparently he was just talking about him being in the movie.
- 18:30Speaker 3: But he scared the shit out of me because you
- 18:31Speaker 3: don't post something like that.
- 18:32Speaker 1: See, that's what worries me when it's like throwback Thursday
- 18:35Speaker 1: and they're showing pictures of them working with people years ago.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Is everybody in this picture okay? Don't be posting shit
- 18:40Speaker 1: like that. Next thing I know, I'll think William Hurt's dead.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Oh, wait.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Oh, wait. Well, was it just me? I posted my
- 18:49Speaker 1: picture from Lost in Space. And I was like, William Hurt,
- 18:52Speaker 1: this is the first thing I think of. I'm sorry,
- 18:54Speaker 1: William Hurt. Because Altered States is way cooler. But, you know,
- 18:59Speaker 1: Body Heat's a much better movie. But I think of
- 19:01Speaker 1: Lost in Space for some reason.
- 19:02Speaker 3: I'm sure I've seen something he's in. I just don't know.
- 19:05Speaker 1: He's a hell of an actor. Kiss of the Spider Woman?
- 19:08Speaker 3: Nope.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Sounds creepy, doesn't it? Sounds awesome. I don't really think
- 19:12Speaker 1: it's the thing you're thinking of.
- 19:13Speaker 3: It doesn't sound like it.
- 19:14Speaker 1: See?
- 19:15Speaker 3: Such an honor to get to work with the legendary
- 19:16Speaker 3: Clancy Brown.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Rest in peace.
- 19:18Speaker 3: Isn't that... Isn't that... Isn't that fucking cruel? I had a...
- 19:21Speaker 3: I was freaking out.
- 19:22Speaker 1: That is mean.
- 19:23Speaker 3: I was like.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Don't you do that, Don Cascarelli. I was.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Oh, I was like, oh, man.
- 19:27Speaker 4: No, no, no.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Not Clancy Brown. But he's... far as i know as
- 19:32Speaker 3: of the release of this podcast clancy brown is alive
- 19:34Speaker 3: and well and hopefully doing okay hopefully hey clancy brown
- 19:37Speaker 3: near you i would like it very much if you
- 19:39Speaker 3: would come to a convention near me that we are
- 19:40Speaker 3: in the midwest anywhere in like.
- 19:42Speaker 1: The two hour range you can get louisville indianapolis cincinnati
- 19:48Speaker 1: i'd go to nashville nashville wasn't a bad run pretty
- 19:52Speaker 1: far yeah i'm not sure about atlanta you're pushing it we.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Can do lexington for clancy brown i would maybe consider
- 19:59Speaker 3: chicago but that.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Would be good we've done that several times in many years.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Past Maybe you can double up and get Clancy Brown
- 20:06Speaker 3: and Mark Singer at one convention.
- 20:07Speaker 1: That would definitely be worth it.
- 20:08Speaker 3: That would definitely be worth it.
- 20:10Speaker 1: I'd be up for that.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Hell yeah. Clancy Brown, Mark Singer. Who else am I
- 20:15Speaker 3: desperate to get? Who is still alive?
- 20:19Speaker 1: That's what I was going to say.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Corin Nemec. God damn it.
- 20:24Speaker 1: There you go. You've gotten a video from him.
- 20:27Speaker 3: I know, and it was delightful.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Somebody got a... cameo birthday video.
- 20:34Speaker 3: From core and it was amazing i.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Don't know who would have gotten you something yeah some good.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Who else am i i can't think of anybody else
- 20:44Speaker 3: i know there's a dozen that i would probably be
- 20:46Speaker 3: like yes yes yes yes and now for the life
- 20:48Speaker 3: of me i can't think of what they are but
- 20:51Speaker 3: definitely clancy brown i don't know what it is if
- 20:54Speaker 3: it's the voice you.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Would think with all the nerdy tie-ins he's got plus
- 20:58Speaker 1: spongebob Like, he would just get a huge turnout at most.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Of these things.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Yeah, you bring in the Highlander fans. That's what I'm saying.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Fucking Buckaroo Bonza.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got so many weird, like, geek-friendly things, you know?
- 21:11Speaker 1: He's got stuff that the cult forms around, like Highlanders
- 21:14Speaker 1: and all his other weird movies, plus your Spongebob crowd.
- 21:18Speaker 1: I mean, come on now.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Mr. Krabs is awesome.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I like some Squidward, but, you know. I have seen
- 21:24Speaker 1: that guy. He was at one of them.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Is there anybody else? Because I'm like, I know there's
- 21:30Speaker 3: probably somebody else out there. Like, I'll look on eBay
- 21:33Speaker 3: and be like, can I get this person's autograph for
- 21:34Speaker 3: a decent price?
- 21:36Speaker 1: Fabio. How about Channing Tatum doing his best Fabio?
- 21:41Speaker 3: Good God. You know, am I the only person in
- 21:43Speaker 3: the entire fucking world that does not find Channing Tatum
- 21:46Speaker 3: to be attractive, even in the slightest?
- 21:47Speaker 1: See, I didn't think he was attractive. And so I
- 21:50Speaker 1: wrote him off as just being like, oh, what an idiot.
- 21:52Speaker 1: You know, back in the early days when he started
- 21:54Speaker 1: doing his dumb comedies. And then when I saw him
- 21:57Speaker 1: not taking himself seriously, now I'm like, it's okay. I
- 22:01Speaker 1: still don't think he's like Mr. Hunk, but he's entertaining
- 22:05Speaker 1: because he doesn't take himself seriously.
- 22:07Speaker 3: His neck is so unappealing.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Yeah. So that's why I was like, he's the perfect
- 22:11Speaker 1: person to put in this new Sandra Bullock movie because
- 22:13Speaker 1: it's hilarious because he's a goof and I'd watch that
- 22:16Speaker 1: because it's Sandra Bullock. I love her.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Billy Worth. Which I've missed.
- 22:21Speaker 1: I was going to say, didn't he come to one
- 22:22Speaker 1: many and many a year ago?
- 22:24Speaker 3: Yeah, and I missed it. I mean, did we go
- 22:26Speaker 3: to the convention and I just wasn't like, maybe somebody
- 22:28Speaker 3: else was there and I was like, oh, I need
- 22:29Speaker 3: this and I need that. And I was like, totally
- 22:31Speaker 3: overlooked Billy Worth before I knew the glory and wonder
- 22:34Speaker 3: of Billy Worth from American Gladiators.
- 22:36Speaker 1: I mean, was it the same show as Corey? I
- 22:38Speaker 1: don't know. Seems like if they were smart, it would
- 22:40Speaker 1: have been, but.
- 22:41Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 22:41Speaker 1: I don't know. That would have definitely overshadowed. I'm sorry, Billy.
- 22:46Speaker 3: I was, I couldn't even speak to Corey.
- 22:48Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 22:50Speaker 3: And I still regret that. I have many regrets in
- 22:52Speaker 3: my life. And one of them is not being able
- 22:54Speaker 3: to tell Corey Haim how absolutely wonderful he was.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Not just hugging him. Holding him.
- 22:59Speaker 3: He looked so miserable in that photo.
- 23:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:01Speaker 1: He was not having a good time. He was not
- 23:03Speaker 1: having a good time. Just in life at that point.
- 23:04Speaker 1: He was not in a good place.
- 23:05Speaker 3: And it sucks because he was looking good. He was
- 23:08Speaker 3: coming back.
- 23:09Speaker 1: He was.
- 23:11Speaker 3: And those little highlights.
- 23:13Speaker 1: What can you do?
- 23:15Speaker 3: Get a time machine and go back and tell Corey Haim.
- 23:18Speaker 3: How wonderful and beautiful he was. And maybe not go
- 23:21Speaker 3: to the bar and rap later.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I heard those stories. Yeah, I think everybody did.
- 23:26Speaker 1: It's best to leave it alone. Yeah. Who else did
- 23:31Speaker 1: we see today?
- 23:33Speaker 3: We walked by the table of Taryn Manning.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:37Speaker 3: And the one chick from, was it Mira?
- 23:41Speaker 1: Oh, Mina Suvari. Mina Suvari.
- 23:43Speaker 3: I was going for the other chick, and I was
- 23:45Speaker 3: not the right name.
- 23:46Speaker 1: I would have talked to her, but I'd have to
- 23:48Speaker 1: not bring up that Dawn of the Dead. Day of
- 23:52Speaker 1: the Dead? No, hers was Day of the Dead. Yeah,
- 23:54Speaker 1: that's a rough movie.
- 23:55Speaker 3: I don't remember that one.
- 23:56Speaker 1: I can't fully blame her. Everything going on was not
- 23:58Speaker 1: a good thing.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Chips were there.
- 24:01Speaker 1: That's true. Both chips.
- 24:02Speaker 5: Eric Estrada's still looking pretty good himself.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Like I said, boyfriend's mom has a wig that looks
- 24:08Speaker 3: like Eric Estrada.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I can kind of picture her wearing it, too, actually.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Now that you mention it.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Because we call her Erica Strada wig. She doesn't wear
- 24:16Speaker 3: it all the time, but when she does, I'm like, well,
- 24:18Speaker 3: Erica Strada's back.
- 24:18Speaker 1: When she does, she's pulling people over on the highway.
- 24:23Speaker 3: Fucking Dirk Benedict was there in a different outfit.
- 24:26Speaker 1: That's true. If you've been listening a long time, you've
- 24:28Speaker 1: heard us talk smack about Dirk Benedict's shirt. Many, many
- 24:33Speaker 1: years ago.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Not about Dirk Benedict himself.
- 24:35Speaker 1: No, Dirk Benedict was fine. He was very nice.
- 24:38Speaker 3: He was nicer than he could have been. He was hideous.
- 24:40Speaker 1: He was questionable. He had some questionable decision-making that morning
- 24:44Speaker 1: when he dressed himself. I guess he dressed himself. I
- 24:46Speaker 1: don't know. But, yeah.
- 24:47Speaker 3: The sad thing is I think I Googled him once,
- 24:49Speaker 3: and I think that shirt came up more than once.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Maybe he really liked that shirt back in the day.
- 24:53Speaker 1: I don't know. This was many a year ago.
- 24:55Speaker 4: It was bad.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Yeah, he was wearing a pretty crazy shirt.
- 25:00Speaker 3: There were a lot of different patterns, and none of
- 25:01Speaker 3: them went together at all.
- 25:03Speaker 1: I mean, any of those weird patchwork shirts almost never worked.
- 25:07Speaker 1: For what they're going for, and they don't look good.
- 25:09Speaker 3: It was a very 90s shirt in a very not
- 25:11Speaker 3: 90s time.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it was not even the 90s when we saw them.
- 25:13Speaker 1: It's been a long time, but it was not the 90s, so.
- 25:16Speaker 3: It was pretty close. It was probably the early 2000s.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Early 2000s, but not the 90s, and no time is
- 25:21Speaker 1: good for that shirt, I can tell you that.
- 25:23Speaker 3: No, no, no, no. You could have got away with
- 25:25Speaker 3: it in the 90s just because everybody else was wearing
- 25:27Speaker 3: shit equally as ugly.
- 25:29Speaker 1: I mean, I did have some tacky-ass shirts in the 90s, so,
- 25:31Speaker 1: I mean, you could possibly pull it off and just
- 25:34Speaker 1: be like, ah, it was the 90s, what do you want?
- 25:35Speaker 3: But.
- 25:36Speaker 1: If you're still wearing it in the 2000s, man, you're
- 25:38Speaker 1: in trouble. But today, he was dressed very subdued.
- 25:42Speaker 3: From what I can tell, although we did not get
- 25:43Speaker 3: that close, he still was holding up fairly well. I
- 25:45Speaker 3: don't know how old he is. Still looking good there,
- 25:47Speaker 3: Dirk Benedict.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Still looking pretty good. I think he was wearing something
- 25:49Speaker 1: like a t-shirt. It was very normal and not weird.
- 25:52Speaker 3: He had a jacket on over it, too. Yeah, he
- 25:53Speaker 3: was wearing something over top.
- 25:54Speaker 1: It was kind of chilly in that room.
- 25:55Speaker 3: It was chilly.
- 25:56Speaker 1: It was very cold today. I didn't like that. When
- 25:58Speaker 1: we were getting off the escalator that last time, Skull,
- 26:01Speaker 1: of Vulcan Skull... Walked right past it. It was a
- 26:05Speaker 1: thrilling moment.
- 26:06Speaker 3: I was too worried about the elevator and the escalator
- 26:09Speaker 3: and the weight limits.
- 26:12Speaker 1: You were the one being the Nazi at the moment. No, no, no, no.
- 26:14Speaker 1: What do you think you're doing?
- 26:15Speaker 3: Somebody was like, they were just looking at their phone
- 26:17Speaker 3: at that point. I'm like, oh, we're all going to die.
- 26:19Speaker 1: I mean, you did bust those people in line earlier
- 26:21Speaker 1: in the day.
- 26:23Speaker 3: They were trying to cut.
- 26:24Speaker 1: They tried to cut massively in line, like more than
- 26:27Speaker 1: halfway up in line. They came up at the corner and.
- 26:30Speaker 5: Just sort of started standing there outside of the little
- 26:33Speaker 5: taped off area.
- 26:35Speaker 1: And we're like, what are these people doing? We just
- 26:37Speaker 1: kept looking at each other like, what? Do they think
- 26:39Speaker 1: they're in line?
- 26:41Speaker 3: I had to be that person. Oh no, the end
- 26:44Speaker 3: of the line's back there.
- 26:45Speaker 1: You're doing it wrong. The line starts way over there.
- 26:48Speaker 3: You go stand in the back by the person who
- 26:50Speaker 3: wants to talk about the Wizard of Oz and you
- 26:53Speaker 3: back on off.
- 26:54Speaker 1: I like the Wizard of Oz. See, there you go.
- 26:59Speaker 3: Cut like more than halfway in line. That's not how
- 27:02Speaker 3: it works.
- 27:02Speaker 1: It's not cool, man. That's why you got lost.
- 27:04Speaker 3: I was in the designated tape line.
- 27:07Speaker 1: That's right. We were doing it by the rules.
- 27:09Speaker 3: I wasn't mean about it.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Well, I was waiting for them to get yelled at
- 27:13Speaker 1: anyway because they were outside of the tape line and
- 27:15Speaker 1: then they were in the area of where the door
- 27:18Speaker 1: was going to open where they were standing.
- 27:19Speaker 3: They were going to get stampeded.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Already said, don't stand in that area because the door
- 27:23Speaker 1: is going to open up and kill somebody.
- 27:24Speaker 3: And where were they standing?
- 27:25Speaker 1: Right in the way. So, eventually they were going to
- 27:28Speaker 1: get yelled at anyway. You just saved them the trouble.
- 27:30Speaker 3: I didn't yell.
- 27:31Speaker 1: I know. You saved them the trouble of getting yelled
- 27:32Speaker 1: at and told them to do it the right way
- 27:34Speaker 1: and don't do stupid.
- 27:35Speaker 3: I used my Karen voice.
- 27:39Speaker 1: No, then you'd say, I'm supposed to be at the
- 27:40Speaker 1: front of the line.
- 27:42Speaker 3: I don't think I was that pissy.
- 27:44Speaker 1: No, that's what I'm saying. You weren't Karen. You were
- 27:47Speaker 1: just kind of like, hey nerds, get it together.
- 27:50Speaker 3: The line's back there.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Do it right. The line's over there. They were trying
- 27:54Speaker 1: to get in front of me.
- 27:58Speaker 3: If they'd been behind me, I'd have been like, just
- 28:00Speaker 3: go ahead and knock yourself out.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Anything else from today?
- 28:05Speaker 3: A lot of anime.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Yeah. That's what we realize more and more every time
- 28:12Speaker 1: we go to these. That we're old people. And we
- 28:14Speaker 1: don't even care anymore.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Is that a costume? Or is that just how they dress?
- 28:20Speaker 3: Or are they Michael Jackson? Or is that an anime character?
- 28:23Speaker 1: Mine earlier was the guy in the... What all was it?
- 28:27Speaker 1: It was a... white shirt black hat black no i
- 28:31Speaker 1: think it's the other way black shirt black hat white
- 28:34Speaker 1: pants bangs down into his face and i was like
- 28:38Speaker 1: is he jack white because he looks like fancy dressed
- 28:41Speaker 1: up jack white but i'm guessing based on his dorky
- 28:44Speaker 1: friends he was standing with who all look like anime
- 28:46Speaker 1: characters that it's an anime character but i don't know
- 28:49Speaker 1: because i'm an old man and i don't know nothing
- 28:52Speaker 1: my geek references are minimal i made it i got
- 28:55Speaker 1: your Christmas story reference, but I don't know anime characters,
- 29:00Speaker 1: so what do you want from me? But yeah, so
- 29:03Speaker 1: every time now we go to these conventions, we're just like, yeah,
- 29:06Speaker 1: I don't know who that is. People are cosplayed up
- 29:09Speaker 1: and put so much work into it, and I'm just like,
- 29:12Speaker 1: I don't know. And I'm too tired to even try
- 29:15Speaker 1: to figure it out. I'm like, let's just assume, I
- 29:17Speaker 1: don't know, Attack on Titan? How about that one? That's
- 29:20Speaker 1: a thing. Kids like that. We'll go with that.
- 29:24Speaker 3: I was excited to see a Daria there.
- 29:25Speaker 1: There you go. See? Old people. That's our animation. Daria.
- 29:31Speaker 1: We're the MTV animation generation. That's when animation took a
- 29:37Speaker 1: wonderful leap forward. We got our amp. we had our
- 29:41Speaker 1: darias we had beavis and butthead we we had good
- 29:44Speaker 1: stuff man i don't understand these kids and their anime
- 29:48Speaker 1: hold me right totally.
- 29:50Speaker 3: But yeah i saw and i'm like.
- 29:51Speaker 1: And again the girl was what like 20 i'm like
- 29:55Speaker 1: have you ever seen daria What bootleg did you watch
- 29:59Speaker 1: these on, and did they have the wrong music?
- 30:02Speaker 3: Okay, hold on. It is, I found the picture of
- 30:05Speaker 3: the figure of the anime character that we saw today,
- 30:08Speaker 3: but I'm waiting for my phone to load because apparently
- 30:11Speaker 3: Lexington sucks when it comes to internet connection.
- 30:13Speaker 1: We were having issues earlier. It's not a one-time thing.
- 30:17Speaker 3: It is a character from Demon Slayer called, yeah, what's
- 30:21Speaker 3: it say?
- 30:22Speaker 1: Jack White. Okay, it's not really, but it might as
- 30:27Speaker 1: well be.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Come on, then.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Demon Slayer, Muzan, you know, Muzan.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Kibitz?
- 30:33Speaker 3: It's not Kibitz.
- 30:34Speaker 1: Kibbles and Bits? I think it's Kibbles and Bits.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Kibitsichi?
- 30:39Speaker 1: Yeah. This is why I'm not allowed to watch things
- 30:41Speaker 1: from other countries.
- 30:42Speaker 3: I think that's what we were.
- 30:43Speaker 1: I think it is. It's a sad thing. But I'm like,
- 30:45Speaker 1: tell me Jack White has not dressed like that before.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Because I know he has.
- 30:49Speaker 3: It's like, that's fucking... Annie, are you okay? Annie, are
- 30:52Speaker 3: you okay?
- 30:54Speaker 1: Are you okay, Annie?
- 30:54Speaker 4: Annie?
- 30:55Speaker 3: Yeah, except for the red eyes. I didn't look at
- 30:57Speaker 3: that guy's eyes. I tried to not make eye contact.
- 30:59Speaker 1: I don't think he had that. I think he was
- 31:01Speaker 1: not going that far into the deal.
- 31:02Speaker 3: I tried to not make eye contact with most people.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Yeah, not really. We did see a Nadia in which
- 31:07Speaker 1: other one?
- 31:09Speaker 3: No.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Laszlo. Laszlo and Nadia.
- 31:11Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure we saw him from behind. I'm like,
- 31:13Speaker 3: is that Laszlo and Nadia? Because it looks like Laszlo.
- 31:15Speaker 1: I passed him again later going down the hallway. So
- 31:17Speaker 1: it was definitely, they were doing their, because yeah, it
- 31:19Speaker 1: was definitely Nadia. That's awesome. Yep, they were awesome. If
- 31:23Speaker 1: I would have caught him again, I was going to
- 31:24Speaker 1: take a photo. But nope, I missed them.
- 31:28Speaker 3: I didn't take photos of anybody.
- 31:29Speaker 1: I normally don't, but that one I was like, Dora's
- 31:31Speaker 1: a big dork. She likes some Nadia. So I was like,
- 31:34Speaker 1: we'll get a picture. And then I never saw him again.
- 31:36Speaker 3: I did get my picture with Battle Cat.
- 31:38Speaker 1: That's true.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Although I miss my boyfriend being my photographer because he
- 31:42Speaker 3: knows how to crop things better.
- 31:44Speaker 1: I specifically said, where do you want it?
- 31:46Speaker 3: And I said to try to get both the cats
- 31:48Speaker 3: in there. That's a different thing. You didn't do it.
- 31:51Speaker 1: I was trying to get Grayskull in with your Battle Cat.
- 31:54Speaker 3: I wanted all of them. I want Battle Cat and Panther.
- 31:56Speaker 1: You want a lot.
- 31:58Speaker 3: I want a photo that has everything up there.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Anyway. Battle Cat.
- 32:07Speaker 3: And I look like shit in all the photos anyway,
- 32:09Speaker 3: so fuck it.
- 32:10Speaker 1: You can't blame me. I just took the picture.
- 32:12Speaker 3: It's my fault for being fat. Go ahead.
- 32:15Speaker 1: I'm not even going there. But you did look for
- 32:18Speaker 1: some Masters of the Universe toys. And you found one
- 32:20Speaker 1: that looks like a spider.
- 32:21Speaker 3: And it was expensive. And then I didn't buy it.
- 32:23Speaker 3: And I found that it's extremely more expensive online. So
- 32:25Speaker 3: now I'm fucked.
- 32:26Speaker 1: They're all too expensive.
- 32:27Speaker 3: That's the problem. I'm trying to complete my collection.
- 32:31Speaker 1: You have gone crazy with your Masters and She-Ra universe.
- 32:37Speaker 3: Well, most of the She-Ras I've had since I was
- 32:39Speaker 3: a kid. That's why I've lost most of their accessories.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. I know.
- 32:42Speaker 3: I can't find her sword for nothing.
- 32:44Speaker 1: What the hell? I know.
- 32:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I've had She-Ra, and I've had Castle Grayskull,
- 32:49Speaker 3: and I've had the Crystal Castle, but I recently bought
- 32:53Speaker 3: the Fright Zone and Snake Mountain, and now I just
- 32:57Speaker 3: need the slime pit. I'm sure there's more I need,
- 33:00Speaker 3: but whatever.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Are you going to use new, updated slime with your
- 33:04Speaker 1: old-timey slime pit?
- 33:05Speaker 3: You're assuming I'm going to get any of that shit dirty.
- 33:07Speaker 1: I wouldn't think so, really, but... I mean, in theory.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Do you know how much of a mess that would
- 33:12Speaker 3: make in my room? And you've seen the carpet in there.
- 33:14Speaker 3: It's white. That is not carpet. No, it's not.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Well, are we ready to do some random things we've
- 33:26Speaker 1: seen lately?
- 33:27Speaker 3: I suppose so. Do you want me to go first?
- 33:29Speaker 3: Because you already talked about the main thing that I've
- 33:31Speaker 3: already watched.
- 33:33Speaker 1: That I've recently watched. Oh yeah, that one.
- 33:36Speaker 3: I recently watched the new Scream movie. I specifically got
- 33:39Speaker 3: the Paramount Plus free trial Just so I could watch
- 33:44Speaker 3: the new Scream movie because it was on there and
- 33:46Speaker 3: I'm like, hey, free trial for a month. I can
- 33:48Speaker 3: watch it. And I can watch Ghosts, which I'll talk
- 33:52Speaker 3: about that after we're talking about Scream. Okay, so I
- 33:55Speaker 3: have questions. Alright. I already posed to you my questions earlier.
- 33:58Speaker 3: You did not answer them because you want to save
- 33:59Speaker 3: them for the podcast. Okay, why did nobody give a
- 34:02Speaker 3: shit who this girl's mom was? as any of the
- 34:05Speaker 3: characters be it sydney or gail nosy ass gots to
- 34:09Speaker 3: know everything gail did not inquire about who the uh
- 34:15Speaker 3: what's her name christina.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Not christina the dark-haired girl the sister our lead.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Yeah how does nobody care about who her mom is
- 34:27Speaker 3: Real world answer?
- 34:27Speaker 1: Because I have a real world answer for you.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Okay.
- 34:30Speaker 1: We're saving it for another movie. Because if you've noticed,
- 34:35Speaker 1: every big reveal at the end of the movie up
- 34:39Speaker 1: until this one, except this one has a weird loophole,
- 34:43Speaker 1: is a related character. At least one of the two
- 34:46Speaker 1: is related to somebody in the main setup, in the
- 34:50Speaker 1: main crew. In this one, they found the loophole because
- 34:54Speaker 1: our main character is related. And she still ends up
- 34:58Speaker 1: killing people.
- 35:00Speaker 3: Now, when the fuck did Billy Loomis have time to
- 35:03Speaker 3: knock a chick up when he's off killing all these people?
- 35:05Speaker 3: Because it's bound to have happened. I found a timeline
- 35:08Speaker 3: that goes through and breaks down when all the characters
- 35:10Speaker 3: were born, when they did what. He's bound to have
- 35:13Speaker 3: got her pregnant in the same month, even, that he's
- 35:17Speaker 3: killing people. And second of all, part two of this,
- 35:20Speaker 3: why would he risk his whole plan? Because if his whole...
- 35:24Speaker 3: If Sidney, being his girlfriend, is the entire linchpin of
- 35:27Speaker 3: this entire plan of revenge, why would he risk pissing
- 35:30Speaker 3: her off by cheating on her?
- 35:32Speaker 1: Because he's a dude?
- 35:36Speaker 3: But still, it seems like he's fairly focused on the
- 35:38Speaker 3: revenge plan. You think he....
- 35:42Speaker 1: He's also... He's relatively shady. I don't trust that bastard.
- 35:46Speaker 1: As the movie unfolds, it's probably a good idea.
- 35:49Speaker 5: But, could i see him messing around on her kind
- 35:52Speaker 5: of but when i mean seriously as i said i
- 35:56Speaker 5: think but that's that's the saving grace for this little
- 35:59Speaker 5: story is the fact that he had another dude to
- 36:01Speaker 5: help him go kill people.
- 36:03Speaker 1: So when stew was off killing people he was nailing
- 36:05Speaker 1: this chick okay i'm not saying it's an easy answer.
- 36:10Speaker 3: Okay they also keep harping on the fact that her
- 36:12Speaker 3: dad is a serial killer but what about her grandmother
- 36:16Speaker 3: Also a serial killer. They never mention her grandmother being
- 36:19Speaker 3: a serial killer through the entire movie, do they?
- 36:21Speaker 1: We got a lot of movies to tie together in this.
- 36:23Speaker 1: We can't hit everyone. Did we bring up the fact
- 36:27Speaker 1: that really Billy wasn't even all that focused on being
- 36:30Speaker 1: the revenge plot? That it was Nev's brother that came
- 36:34Speaker 1: along and pushed him towards it. He hinted at it
- 36:36Speaker 1: and gave him the plan and laid it all out.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Did we bring that up?
- 36:39Speaker 2: No, not really.
- 36:41Speaker 1: So, again, all of this is interconnected with weird people
- 36:44Speaker 1: that they're related to. So, We're saving it for like
- 36:46Speaker 1: movie seven or eight when the mom will come back.
- 36:49Speaker 3: When stab eight rolls around?
- 36:51Speaker 1: When the other bastard child of the mom will come
- 36:53Speaker 1: back or a sister of the mom. I don't know.
- 36:56Speaker 1: I'm sure there's somebody working on a script somewhere right now.
- 37:00Speaker 3: And I can't be the only one who immediately knew
- 37:02Speaker 3: who the people, the killers were.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Both of them?
- 37:05Speaker 3: Oh, I knew both of them immediately. As soon as
- 37:08Speaker 3: they showed like the boyfriend, I'm like, wait a second.
- 37:10Speaker 3: I don't trust this guy.
- 37:12Speaker 1: But he's so cute and adorable.
- 37:14Speaker 5: You've got to be trusting and fall for his little plan.
- 37:17Speaker 3: He'd never seen a stab movie. I'm like, he's fucking in.
- 37:20Speaker 3: He's fucking in on it.
- 37:21Speaker 1: But did you... And that's why the more it went on,
- 37:24Speaker 1: I was like, were they planting this stuff? Because he's like,
- 37:27Speaker 1: we brought this up before. He says he's never seen
- 37:30Speaker 1: a stab movie. He's watching the first one in the
- 37:31Speaker 1: car or whatever. And then suddenly later, after he talked
- 37:35Speaker 1: to Dewey, he's like... he was nicer in the movies,
- 37:39Speaker 1: or whatever. Like, he says something like he's seen all
- 37:41Speaker 1: the movies. And I'm like, well, did they purposely do
- 37:46Speaker 1: that because he has seen all the movies, religiously, and
- 37:50Speaker 1: this was all part of the plan, and he's slipping
- 37:52Speaker 1: up here and there? Because there's a few times it
- 37:54Speaker 1: doesn't add up, and maybe it purposely doesn't add up.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Because he is the killer.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Spoilers.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Spoilers for Stab. Stab. No number Stab.
- 38:03Speaker 3: It's actually a more recent movie.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:06Speaker 1: We're putting the spoiler alert out. You heard it already.
- 38:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I was just like that. I enjoyed parts of it.
- 38:12Speaker 1: I enjoyed it a lot.
- 38:14Speaker 3: I was just questioning, like, everything. You know, I'm just like,
- 38:17Speaker 3: what else was I... I immediately knew the boyfriend. I
- 38:21Speaker 3: already suspected him. But then, like, in the hospital, I
- 38:25Speaker 3: knew immediately. It was when he looked back. Because the.
- 38:29Speaker 1: That's what I brought up. He was super worried about
- 38:31Speaker 1: the fact that Dewey just killed his girlfriend because he
- 38:35Speaker 1: was way concerned about whether the ghost face was dead.
- 38:39Speaker 1: So yeah, that was only the second time I watched it.
- 38:43Speaker 1: I went back and watched it again because I'm a
- 38:45Speaker 1: dork and I was like, the second time I was like,
- 38:46Speaker 1: oh no. He totally is worried about, did you just
- 38:50Speaker 1: shoot my girlfriend?
- 38:51Speaker 3: And I knew it was the friend. When they were
- 38:53Speaker 3: in the hospital, I'm like, it's her. I don't know,
- 38:57Speaker 3: I could just tell.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Now I can ask you, have you seen Once Upon
- 39:00Speaker 1: a Time in Hollywood?
- 39:01Speaker 3: No.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Damn it. Nobody gets the references. There's a very obvious
- 39:05Speaker 1: dork movie thing that if you've seen both Once Upon
- 39:09Speaker 1: a Time in Hollywood and New Screen, it's a very
- 39:13Speaker 1: obvious thing that goes on. I'm just like, okay, that's hilarious.
- 39:16Speaker 1: And now everybody I talk to hasn't seen the other movie.
- 39:18Speaker 1: And I'm like, damn it.
- 39:20Speaker 3: Nobody else gets it but me. The twist that I
- 39:23Speaker 3: wanted was I did want the sister to be in
- 39:25Speaker 3: on it.
- 39:27Speaker 1: I'm okay with that except I like her so much
- 39:31Speaker 1: and she holds that movie together that I don't know.
- 39:33Speaker 1: The younger sister. I know. That's what I'm saying. I think,
- 39:35Speaker 1: I said before, I think she's the linchpin of that movie. Like,
- 39:38Speaker 1: she is so good in that that I'm like, it
- 39:41Speaker 1: holds everything together. So to have her then do the
- 39:44Speaker 1: turn at the end, I don't know. I'm like, I
- 39:46Speaker 1: might be on board with it.
- 39:47Speaker 3: I wanted it to be her. I wanted it to
- 39:48Speaker 3: be her because she's the, like, The older sister is
- 39:50Speaker 3: the reason her dad left.
- 39:52Speaker 1: That's not the worst plot. Again, you could have worked
- 39:55Speaker 1: that in if you would have written your alternate screenplay.
- 39:58Speaker 1: That's equally as viable as what actually happens. So I
- 40:01Speaker 1: will give you that. That's a better option than in
- 40:04Speaker 1: some of the other screen movies.
- 40:07Speaker 3: And I enjoyed most of the other screen movies.
- 40:09Speaker 1: I did too. I said that on the other show.
- 40:11Speaker 1: I was like, I think it's maybe the most solid
- 40:14Speaker 1: and dependable series of horror movies. Like there's... usually some
- 40:18Speaker 1: that are way off and like this one even the
- 40:21Speaker 1: one i have the most problem with i really like
- 40:23Speaker 1: so i don't know it's pretty solid was that.
- 40:27Speaker 3: All your questions i think so but yeah it's like
- 40:31Speaker 3: i knew immediately who they were like when he started
- 40:34Speaker 3: calling from her phone i'm like they said oh well
- 40:37Speaker 3: it's cloned i'm like then i had questions too not
- 40:41Speaker 3: just about the movie but how things work in the
- 40:43Speaker 3: movie because when her phone rings it says unknown caller
- 40:46Speaker 3: maybe sydney prescott How the fuck does your phone.
- 40:48Speaker 1: I wondered that, too. The first time, I was like,
- 40:51Speaker 1: is that a thing?
- 40:52Speaker 3: I was like, is that an Apple iPhone thing?
- 40:54Speaker 1: I don't have an Apple. Maybe so.
- 40:54Speaker 4: I don't... Yeah.
- 40:55Speaker 3: I don't have an Apple. I don't have an iPhone.
- 40:56Speaker 3: I have a Samsung. So I don't know how that works.
- 40:59Speaker 1: I don't know if.
- 41:00Speaker 3: I don't know if somebody calls you and it says
- 41:02Speaker 3: unknown number. Does it give you like a suggestion as
- 41:04Speaker 3: to who it.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Is there like a listing that it knows who it
- 41:07Speaker 1: could be? Because why else would it.
- 41:08Speaker 3: Doesn't that defeat the purpose of having an unknown number?
- 41:11Speaker 1: Why would it know who you are unless there's some
- 41:13Speaker 1: sort of... Which again... everyone's watching everything you do on
- 41:17Speaker 1: your phone all day anyway so they probably do know
- 41:19Speaker 1: who it is but yeah it does sort of defeat
- 41:21Speaker 1: the purpose I don't like that yep that was a
- 41:25Speaker 1: little weird but again I'm just like I don't know how.
- 41:27Speaker 3: I even had to rewind the movie at some point
- 41:29Speaker 3: to show boyfriend I'm like oh no no no what
- 41:30Speaker 3: is this is this some technology that I don't maybe
- 41:33Speaker 3: I said maybe it's an iPhone thing.
- 41:35Speaker 1: I've had my phone for many years now me.
- 41:38Speaker 3: Too and it doesn't tell me anything about unknown numbers
- 41:41Speaker 3: I just don't answer anything and it makes it a
- 41:43Speaker 3: lot easier but uh Ghostface will be not really coming
- 41:48Speaker 3: through on my plan when he's trying to kill me.
- 41:50Speaker 3: I did find the name of the mother, but they
- 41:52Speaker 3: still make no reference as to whether she actually might
- 41:54Speaker 3: have known Sidney. So her name was Christina, maybe?
- 41:58Speaker 1: Possibly, maybe? Sam.
- 42:00Speaker 3: Sam was the name of the older sister. Because her
- 42:03Speaker 3: name was Sam.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Carpenter.
- 42:06Speaker 3: But Billy Loomis' daughter, Sam Loomis, would be the character
- 42:10Speaker 3: from Psycho.
- 42:14Speaker 1: That's why I was okay with the Carpenter thing. I
- 42:16Speaker 1: was like, it's fine. That's what we've been doing since
- 42:18Speaker 1: the first movie.
- 42:19Speaker 3: I named that one kid Wes.
- 42:21Speaker 1: I know, just so he could be Wes.
- 42:22Speaker 3: Yay, Wes! I did read one of the little things,
- 42:25Speaker 3: when they do the whole little salute to Wes at
- 42:27Speaker 3: the party, it's got Drew Barrymore, it's got Lillard, his.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Wife, I think, or something.
- 42:37Speaker 3: They brought back a lot of the original people and
- 42:39Speaker 3: people who were close to him to do the whole
- 42:40Speaker 3: salute as voiceovers.
- 42:42Speaker 1: I brought this up before too, but the extra layered
- 42:45Speaker 1: joke is the Matthew Lillard line is, hey, nice house, man,
- 42:49Speaker 1: which is his house within the universe. It's his house
- 42:53Speaker 1: that they're in. So he's just complimenting himself. What do
- 42:56Speaker 1: jerks do?
- 42:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Would you like to hear what horror movie I watched lately?
- 43:02Speaker 3: I'm not going to like it.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Actually, I have a legit horror one if you want
- 43:08Speaker 1: to go into, or I have the one that I
- 43:10Speaker 1: think is entertaining. So how I just now got to this,
- 43:15Speaker 1: I don't know. But just a week or so ago,
- 43:19Speaker 1: I watched Burlesque. You know, I expected a lot going
- 43:26Speaker 1: into this. It had been built up a lot by
- 43:28Speaker 1: people over the years. And I'm, you know, you know
- 43:31Speaker 1: more than most people, I'm a sucker for some Christina.
- 43:34Speaker 1: So I was just like, whatever, I'm going to watch this.
- 43:37Speaker 1: I don't care. I, much like today when I bought
- 43:39Speaker 1: some crappy movies, I found it for cheap, and I'm like,
- 43:42Speaker 1: I am gonna watch this. So, it is fine. It
- 43:47Speaker 1: is not, I was expecting showgirls level, oh my god.
- 43:52Speaker 1: It is just a dorky girl, the girl from a
- 43:55Speaker 1: small town comes to the big city, wants to be
- 43:57Speaker 1: a success of some sort, and a dancer, or whatever, performer,
- 44:01Speaker 1: they're not real specific, she just wants to be a dancer,
- 44:04Speaker 1: but yet somehow a stripper isn't where she ends up,
- 44:08Speaker 1: but burlesque is They talk smack about strippers in the
- 44:13Speaker 1: Burlesque Club, but I'm like, it's one step away. It's
- 44:16Speaker 1: pretty damn close. I don't know. I found it charming
- 44:21Speaker 1: in how not ridiculous it was. And Christina looks lovely,
- 44:25Speaker 1: let me tell you. This was half the reason to
- 44:28Speaker 1: have this movie. I can't remember if she had already
- 44:31Speaker 1: had the kid, but it's right before she becomes full-on
- 44:34Speaker 1: mom mode. This was capturing her at the last peek
- 44:38Speaker 1: this is the jump the shark before she just became
- 44:40Speaker 1: a mom so jump the baby shark.
- 44:45Speaker 3: You can't tell me you didn't see it coming if.
- 44:49Speaker 1: I would have seen it coming i would have heard
- 44:53Speaker 1: the so yeah i don't care i'm not a big
- 45:01Speaker 1: share person i don't dislike her She's had a hell
- 45:03Speaker 1: of a career and she's still knocking out stuff. So
- 45:06Speaker 1: I tolerate her just fine. But yeah, I was mostly
- 45:09Speaker 1: there for Christina. And it was not at all a
- 45:11Speaker 1: train wreck. It's funny how much it's similar in plot
- 45:15Speaker 1: to Showgirls. But yeah, it is not the nightmare that
- 45:18Speaker 1: is the Showgirls screenplay. It is just standard, normal, Hollywood
- 45:23Speaker 1: kind of movie that girl wants to be a success. Hey,
- 45:26Speaker 1: let's go.
- 45:27Speaker 3: Different places, okay? Different places!
- 45:30Speaker 1: I will call them out, though, if I'm going to
- 45:31Speaker 1: call them out for one thing. The songs are fine. Again,
- 45:35Speaker 1: they're vocally, they're amazing. But when we get to the songs, okay,
- 45:39Speaker 1: she gets there and she sees them doing a song
- 45:41Speaker 1: on stage and they, it's called like, this is burlesque
- 45:46Speaker 1: or something. And they mentioned burlesque about 48 times in it.
- 45:49Speaker 1: And I'm like, all right, whatever. That's our intro within
- 45:51Speaker 1: the movie to this little thing. So there you go.
- 45:54Speaker 1: I guess we'll let that slide. But then later in
- 45:57Speaker 1: the movie, Christina does her own song about burlesque using
- 46:01Speaker 1: the word burlesque in the song. And then for the
- 46:05Speaker 1: big finale, somebody in the movie writes a new song
- 46:09Speaker 1: and it's about burlesque. I'm like, really? What is this?
- 46:13Speaker 1: A country song? You got to mention that you're so
- 46:15Speaker 1: damn country all the time? It's that level of unimaginative.
- 46:20Speaker 1: We want you to know that this is a burlesque
- 46:22Speaker 1: thing and the song is about burlesque.
- 46:24Speaker 3: And you might have missed it.
- 46:26Speaker 1: So we're going to smack you over the head with
- 46:28Speaker 1: it about 14 times by mentioning the word every song
- 46:31Speaker 1: that we sing. I'm like, yeah, I get it. You're
- 46:34Speaker 1: dancing around in your underwear. It's burlesque. I understand. So
- 46:38Speaker 1: if I'm knocking them for anything, you don't really have
- 46:41Speaker 1: to work burlesque into the name of every song that
- 46:43Speaker 1: you put in your burlesque show. Just saying. Subtlety, guys.
- 46:48Speaker 1: It's okay. But other than that, Christina looks lovely. So
- 46:53Speaker 1: is that horror enough for you?
- 46:54Speaker 3: I don't know. I did get caught up on the ghosts.
- 46:58Speaker 3: Is it ghosts with a plural?
- 47:00Speaker 1: Not the Singular with Patrick Swayze, but the plurals with
- 47:05Speaker 1: Rose MacGyver.
- 47:06Speaker 3: She's so damn adorable.
- 47:07Speaker 1: She is adorable.
- 47:08Speaker 3: Although I did have a hard time getting into this
- 47:09Speaker 3: show because, again, it does the whole thing with beating
- 47:12Speaker 3: you over the head with things. Oh, these ghosts. They
- 47:15Speaker 3: don't get modern references, so we're going to tell you
- 47:17Speaker 3: every fucking episode.
- 47:18Speaker 1: I don't know what that means.
- 47:20Speaker 3: I don't understand. I'm a ghost. I'm like, okay, we
- 47:22Speaker 3: got it. You're a ghost.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Do we? This is network TV. People are dumb.
- 47:29Speaker 3: So yeah, I was barely hanging on a thread. Just like,
- 47:32Speaker 3: this fucking show. I want to like it because I
- 47:34Speaker 3: love Rose MacGyver. Then they got to the episode with
- 47:37Speaker 3: Pete and his family.
- 47:40Speaker 1: It's the tearjerker of the season. It is.
- 47:42Speaker 3: And then I'm like, damn it.
- 47:43Speaker 1: It tugs at your heartstrings.
- 47:45Speaker 3: Now I like it.
- 47:47Speaker 1: I think it helps because I always like Rose, period.
- 47:49Speaker 1: But then her husband is awesome. I like that guy.
- 47:55Speaker 1: He's a dork, and they really don't hide what a
- 47:58Speaker 1: dork he is. I like that he's developed his dorky
- 48:02Speaker 1: connections with the ghosts.
- 48:04Speaker 3: I don't like that she was so bitchy about the
- 48:05Speaker 3: D & D. She could have just let him enjoy
- 48:08Speaker 3: the D & D.
- 48:08Speaker 1: She's kind of being a jerk. She does that a
- 48:10Speaker 1: couple times, really.
- 48:11Speaker 3: You're being a bitch, Rose. Come on now.
- 48:14Speaker 1: He really needs to be able to see ghosts himself.
- 48:17Speaker 1: He got to be one for one episode.
- 48:18Speaker 3: So you're saying he has to die.
- 48:20Speaker 1: If they can bring him back so he can be
- 48:22Speaker 1: cool and hang out with Pete.
- 48:23Speaker 3: Let's go push him down the stairs.
- 48:25Speaker 1: I mean, it happened once. He has to be a ghost.
- 48:29Speaker 3: Did they ever say why one ghost is not wearing pants?
- 48:32Speaker 1: I think that's this next episode. Because they're doing a flashback.
- 48:36Speaker 1: He's going to tell the story of what he was
- 48:38Speaker 1: doing in the 90s or whatever.
- 48:40Speaker 3: A Trevor.
- 48:42Speaker 1: Trevor's pretty, like, again, would I want to hang out
- 48:45Speaker 1: with Trevor in the real world? No. As the character
- 48:47Speaker 1: he is on the show, that guy is pretty impressive.
- 48:50Speaker 1: And you know what the most horribly offensive thing about
- 48:53Speaker 1: his character is? Not that he's not wearing pants. That
- 48:55Speaker 1: he's wearing a shirt that's a blue shirt with a
- 48:58Speaker 1: white collar.
- 49:00Speaker 3: That's from the 90s. I don't care.
- 49:02Speaker 1: I hate that. I've always hated that. And I know
- 49:06Speaker 1: you've always hated that.
- 49:07Speaker 3: Take his shirt and put it with Dirk Benedict's.
- 49:11Speaker 1: Yep, it's right up there. It's that tacky.
- 49:13Speaker 3: I don't like it.
- 49:14Speaker 1: If you're one of those people that wears those, please
- 49:17Speaker 1: let us know why. Like, what is the selling point?
- 49:19Speaker 1: Because I'm... all for having your collar be the same
- 49:22Speaker 1: color as your shirt. That's just me. I'm crazy. But
- 49:25Speaker 1: I don't get that look, and I still see people
- 49:27Speaker 1: wearing it out in the world now.
- 49:28Speaker 3: Because you want to wear a blue shirt, but you
- 49:30Speaker 3: still want to be white collar.
- 49:33Speaker 1: Trevor was an up-and-comer. He wasn't white collar yet. He
- 49:36Speaker 1: couldn't even afford pants. Look at him. We don't know that.
- 49:38Speaker 3: Maybe he was just taking them off to get busy.
- 49:40Speaker 1: Oh, I think that's the story. I think that's the
- 49:43Speaker 1: actual story is hooking up and had a heart attack
- 49:47Speaker 1: in the hotel. I think that's what happened in the
- 49:52Speaker 1: other counterpart version of him. So I'm sure it's in
- 49:55Speaker 1: the British version. I think so. I think that was
- 49:58Speaker 1: the story was he was hooking up and had a
- 50:00Speaker 1: heart attack in the hotel.
- 50:02Speaker 3: He was young. Was he doing drugs? Probably.
- 50:04Speaker 1: It's the coming out of the 80s he's trying to
- 50:06Speaker 1: be cool still so you know just load up on
- 50:08Speaker 1: your cocaine it's fine nothing bad can happen and then.
- 50:11Speaker 3: You die and you're stuck a ghost.
- 50:16Speaker 1: Extra level of dorkiness that we got to the mom
- 50:19Speaker 1: episode and it's a character from pete's favorite show because
- 50:25Speaker 1: her mom is the one who used to be the
- 50:28Speaker 1: made on new heart so it was extra layers of
- 50:32Speaker 1: dorky because it was only like two episodes later i
- 50:35Speaker 1: was just like man they did not hide that i've
- 50:37Speaker 1: never seen.
- 50:38Speaker 3: Oh i've never actively watched new heart.
- 50:40Speaker 1: Pete would be upset with you because it's all terrific show.
- 50:43Speaker 3: I mean i'm sure it was on the background like
- 50:45Speaker 3: in my life but i've never.
- 50:46Speaker 1: I did really like it growing up it was again
- 50:48Speaker 1: it's one of those if you get bob newhart's humor
- 50:52Speaker 1: it's a, it's an either or like you're all in
- 50:54Speaker 1: or you're not. And like, I thought he was hilarious
- 50:56Speaker 1: before that. And like new hearts, like a very perfect
- 51:00Speaker 1: sitcom way to capture it all. So, yep. I'm a
- 51:03Speaker 1: sucker for some new hearts. So Pete's right. It's awesome. Well,
- 51:07Speaker 1: I did watch one other thing. If we're getting to
- 51:08Speaker 1: a horror movie and this one will have a tie
- 51:11Speaker 1: in to tie up all these things going on in
- 51:13Speaker 1: this episode.
- 51:14Speaker 3: Do it.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Cause somehow I remember you talking about it after we
- 51:18Speaker 1: watched the first one. And I was like, Oh, that
- 51:20Speaker 1: sounds cool. And then I, Ran across a copy, much
- 51:22Speaker 1: like today, shopping for movies. And I was like, wait,
- 51:25Speaker 1: did I ever go back and watch that one? Jeepers
- 51:28Speaker 1: Creepers 2.
- 51:29Speaker 3: Starring Ray Wise.
- 51:33Speaker 1: So after we did our whole episode on the first one,
- 51:36Speaker 1: I was like.
- 51:36Speaker 3: Is that the school bus episode?
- 51:37Speaker 1: That's the school bus one, yeah. And I was like,
- 51:39Speaker 1: I haven't seen that. But I was like, I remember
- 51:41Speaker 1: Misty talking about it. And she said she liked the
- 51:43Speaker 1: second one. And it had Ray Wise in it. So
- 51:45Speaker 1: I was like, damn it, this is reason enough to
- 51:47Speaker 1: be watching this movie right now.
- 51:49Speaker 3: Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Give me some Ray Wise.
- 51:52Speaker 1: So I will say I went into it and even
- 51:55Speaker 1: more so I liked it because I was thinking in
- 51:57Speaker 1: my head, oh, after that first one and all the
- 52:00Speaker 1: real world shit that went on, they didn't let that
- 52:03Speaker 1: guy direct the next one. So this is somebody else.
- 52:06Speaker 1: They gave it to some up and coming horror guy.
- 52:08Speaker 1: And so this is good. I can like this and
- 52:10Speaker 1: not even feel weird about it. And I liked it
- 52:12Speaker 1: and I had fun and I got to the end
- 52:13Speaker 1: and I went, oh, fuck, man, dude, stop making movies.
- 52:18Speaker 1: You're creeping us all out. So I don't know. We
- 52:21Speaker 1: won't dig into the real world stuff, but fair warning,
- 52:25Speaker 1: that dude also directed this one. And the third one,
- 52:27Speaker 1: mind you. Which I knew there was one, but I
- 52:29Speaker 1: didn't know it was still.
- 52:30Speaker 3: I haven't seen the third one.
- 52:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it jumps like it's 2017 before they get around
- 52:34Speaker 1: to doing the third one. But yeah, I think he
- 52:36Speaker 1: wrote and directed the third one too. So they are
- 52:38Speaker 1: doing a new one that he's not connected to. So
- 52:42Speaker 1: you're safe moving forward. But the original trilogy, you're in
- 52:46Speaker 1: trouble because... That dude directed them all.
- 52:48Speaker 3: I still like the second one because it had Ray
- 52:50Speaker 3: Wise in it.
- 52:50Speaker 1: It's pretty cool, I gotta say. I do... It is
- 52:52Speaker 1: an interesting... As much as I hate Justin.
- 52:55Speaker 3: I mean, I like Justin Long, but I hate his
- 52:57Speaker 3: character in the first one so much.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, he is a whiny bitch in that first movie.
- 53:00Speaker 3: I was so glad to see him dead.
- 53:02Speaker 1: But he pops up again for just a little bit
- 53:04Speaker 1: in the second one. Lucky you, more Justin Long.
- 53:08Speaker 3: Which, like I said, I like him in other things.
- 53:10Speaker 1: I like Justin Long, yeah. But his character... But he
- 53:12Speaker 1: plays that good because he plays that in a couple
- 53:14Speaker 1: of things over the years. Like, I've seen him be... Yeah,
- 53:17Speaker 1: have you seen that fourth Die Hard movie? Because he
- 53:19Speaker 1: is a whiny bitch in that too. So don't let
- 53:22Speaker 1: Jay watch that one because he will not like him.
- 53:24Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Jay hated the first movie. So yeah, he's
- 53:27Speaker 1: not going to like him in that Die Hard movie either.
- 53:29Speaker 3: If you see somebody throw a dead body in a
- 53:31Speaker 3: fucking hole, you do not go back and look.
- 53:34Speaker 1: Let's go look and see what's in the hole.
- 53:37Speaker 3: Me and boyfriend do a lot of driving. We drive
- 53:39Speaker 3: through a lot of places where I'm pretty sure holes
- 53:41Speaker 3: like that exist. If I ever, and I say ever,
- 53:44Speaker 3: see anybody throwing what I even remotely think could even
- 53:47Speaker 3: possibly this slightest bit resemble a dead body i am
- 53:51Speaker 3: not gonna go.
- 53:51Speaker 1: Look i think not only should you look you should
- 53:54Speaker 1: climb down the hole no no no and then poke
- 53:56Speaker 1: the possible body with a stick.
- 53:58Speaker 3: I'm all about poking dead bodies with sticks but.
- 54:02Speaker 1: No not not that climb down a hole.
- 54:05Speaker 3: No no i do not clone all my bodies all
- 54:09Speaker 3: my dead bodies that i want to poke with sticks
- 54:10Speaker 3: will be out in the open with clear escape routes
- 54:12Speaker 3: i do not want to be trapped in a hole
- 54:15Speaker 3: no Well.
- 54:16Speaker 1: The second one I liked because it's a variation. Like
- 54:19Speaker 1: it's not just let's do the same thing again. Like
- 54:21Speaker 1: everything about it changes because not only are we not,
- 54:24Speaker 1: you know, we're not, They don't even treat him like,
- 54:26Speaker 1: you know, that whole first half of the first movie,
- 54:28Speaker 1: he's like a serial killer. Like he's just like a
- 54:30Speaker 1: creepy dude following you in a truck going to kill you,
- 54:33Speaker 1: which is so effective in that first movie. But like
- 54:36Speaker 1: this one, he's just the creature. Like we know it
- 54:39Speaker 1: by the end of that first movie and they just
- 54:40Speaker 1: lean right into it. He is a big winged creature
- 54:43Speaker 1: and he's flying around half this movie.
- 54:45Speaker 3: And he was secretly really hot. It is.
- 54:47Speaker 1: Yeah, we've talked to him. He's a nice dude. That's
- 54:50Speaker 1: the thing. As much as I'm creeped out by the director,
- 54:52Speaker 1: the guy who plays our Jeeper Creeper in the titular
- 54:57Speaker 1: Jeeper Creeper, he's very nice and he was cool. So
- 55:01Speaker 1: I have no problems with him. Director, I don't know about. But, yeah.
- 55:06Speaker 1: The movie's fun, though. Like, it really is. Like, a
- 55:09Speaker 1: bunch of those... And I kept thinking... I assumed they
- 55:11Speaker 1: were all football players. When I read the thing, they
- 55:14Speaker 1: were like a basketball team.
- 55:16Speaker 3: Sports ball!
- 55:16Speaker 1: I was just like... Again, I just assumed a... busload
- 55:20Speaker 1: of football players. But no, according to that, they were
- 55:22Speaker 1: basketball players. Whatever. So yeah, a busload of kids and
- 55:27Speaker 1: most of them you kind of wanted to see die
- 55:29Speaker 1: and luckily you get to see a lot of them die. Yeah,
- 55:32Speaker 1: you're just picking them off one by one and you're
- 55:34Speaker 1: stuck with that. Do we stay in the bus? Do
- 55:35Speaker 1: we get out of the bus? Which is the worst
- 55:37Speaker 1: thing to do? I don't know.
- 55:39Speaker 3: Neither is a good option.
- 55:41Speaker 1: And then we get Ray show up and he builds
- 55:43Speaker 1: a giant harpoon essentially. So, Ray's awesome.
- 55:48Speaker 3: Yeah, he is.
- 55:49Speaker 1: It is pretty damn cool and does a nice setup
- 55:52Speaker 1: at the end there that I kind of want to
- 55:54Speaker 1: then go back and see, much as I don't want
- 55:56Speaker 1: to support him and watch a third movie. Do they
- 55:59Speaker 1: make good on that ending? Probably not, because it was
- 56:02Speaker 1: 2017 before they got around to the next sequel, but
- 56:05Speaker 1: they kind of leave you with Ray bookending this story.
- 56:09Speaker 3: Is Ray in the third one?
- 56:10Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 56:11Speaker 1: Probably not. You can look it up. In the meantime,
- 56:14Speaker 1: I will also go into the fact that Ray Wise.
- 56:17Speaker 3: Was born in 1947.
- 56:21Speaker 1: What was he like in West Side Story or something?
- 56:25Speaker 3: No, was he? He wasn't in that.
- 56:28Speaker 1: The other dude was.
- 56:29Speaker 3: The other dude was in that.
- 56:30Speaker 1: The other dude was in that. What was he in Robocop? Yeah, Robocop.
- 56:35Speaker 1: He is in Robocop.
- 56:36Speaker 3: Yeah. The only reason I watched Robocop.
- 56:38Speaker 1: Robocop's awesome.
- 56:39Speaker 3: Good lord, Ray Wise has been in 248 things.
- 56:42Speaker 1: Because he's awesome.
- 56:44Speaker 3: And two soundtracks. Was he singing the.
- 56:52Speaker 1: That should have been his favorite memory. Yeah, I don't...
- 56:55Speaker 1: He didn't say that one at all on the Q
- 56:57Speaker 1: & A today.
- 56:58Speaker 3: I don't even... Reaper is such a good show. I
- 57:02Speaker 3: don't even know what year that could have possibly even
- 57:04Speaker 3: been in. 2000... Let's just look up Ray Weiss Jeepers Creepers.
- 57:10Speaker 3: Jeepers Creepers. I'm just seeing him, too. I just.
- 57:16Speaker 1: So, yeah, he's probably not back for a third one. But.
- 57:19Speaker 3: Because I could just look up Jeepers Creepers 3!
- 57:21Speaker 1: This is the thing that I was thinking as I
- 57:23Speaker 1: was watching this. I was like, because basically, the second
- 57:26Speaker 1: and first one are, like, the same little... I mean,
- 57:29Speaker 1: if you know the story, like, the creature can come
- 57:31Speaker 1: out for so many days, so many years, so it's all, like,
- 57:35Speaker 1: within the same 20 to 30 day span. Like, both
- 57:38Speaker 1: of them happen almost back to back. It's like he kills...
- 57:42Speaker 1: Justin Long, spoilers, but he's chasing them in the first
- 57:46Speaker 1: movie and like trying to kill them. And then within
- 57:49Speaker 1: a few days before he goes back in and hibernates
- 57:52Speaker 1: or whatever the hell he does, is when the bus
- 57:55Speaker 1: thing happens. It's right before the end of the cycle.
- 57:58Speaker 1: So those are both in the span of a couple
- 58:00Speaker 1: of days.
- 58:01Speaker 3: Yeah, there's no reference to Ray being in it.
- 58:04Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. So they dropped the ball on
- 58:06Speaker 1: that one.
- 58:06Speaker 3: Does have Meg Foster, though. Oh, Lord. And a guy
- 58:10Speaker 3: named Michael Papa John, and I'm like, ooh, Papa John.
- 58:13Speaker 1: No, thank you. You suck, and your pizza sucks.
- 58:15Speaker 3: Hey, I like Papa John's.
- 58:16Speaker 1: You can have it.
- 58:17Speaker 3: Most of the time.
- 58:18Speaker 1: You can have it. Anyway, so yeah, I was like,
- 58:21Speaker 1: it's weird that those are so right next to each other,
- 58:23Speaker 1: like timeline within the story. They happen within the same
- 58:27Speaker 1: month-long period. So I'm assuming the third one comes around,
- 58:30Speaker 1: we jump to the next, because it's been so long
- 58:32Speaker 1: in the real world, I guess we jump to the
- 58:34Speaker 1: next cycle when the creature comes back. So I just
- 58:37Speaker 1: thought that was kind of interesting that they crammed the
- 58:39Speaker 1: first two In that first cycle. So the second story
- 58:41Speaker 1: happens right after the first one almost. But. Hold on.
- 58:46Speaker 3: The third movie is set between the first and second film.
- 58:48Speaker 1: How is that allowed? Didn't we go over the rules
- 58:52Speaker 1: of the Jeeper Creeper?
- 58:53Speaker 3: According to this, set between the first and second film,
- 58:56Speaker 3: Sergeant Davis Cubs creates. Yeah.
- 58:58Speaker 1: You guys are doing it wrong. You don't even know
- 59:00Speaker 1: how you do your own spryology.
- 59:04Speaker 3: He assembles a task force to destroy the Jeeper once
- 59:06Speaker 3: and for all. But we already saw the second movie,
- 59:08Speaker 3: which technically would be the third movie.
- 59:10Speaker 1: You people are doing it wrong.
- 59:12Speaker 3: I mean, that's... I'm confused. I'm confused.
- 59:17Speaker 1: Yeah. Anyway, the second one was entertaining and Ray Wise
- 59:20Speaker 1: is super cool. So that was my.
- 59:22Speaker 3: Like one of the top reviews on the IMDb. It
- 59:26Speaker 3: did not live up remotely close to the other. Story
- 59:28Speaker 3: was bad.
- 59:28Speaker 1: Acting was bad.
- 59:29Speaker 3: Plot was bad. Special effects were bad. Let me save
- 59:31Speaker 3: myself some typing and some time. Everything was really bad.
- 59:35Speaker 3: Go ahead. Watch it if you want. But you'll be like,
- 59:38Speaker 3: oh man, that was bad.
- 59:40Speaker 1: Random dude on the internet was right.
- 59:45Speaker 3: I probably got some of that quotient wrong because when
- 59:46Speaker 3: my brain reads, it reads fast.
- 59:48Speaker 1: Reading words is hard. So anyway, that was my takeaway was,
- 59:55Speaker 1: isn't this the one with Ray Wise in it? And
- 59:56Speaker 1: I was right. It is the one with Ray Wise
- 59:58Speaker 1: in it, and he's super cool.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: The budget for the third one was $ 6, 200, 000. Its gross
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: worldwide was $ 4, 017, 000.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: Oops.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: Dropped the ball on that one one more time.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: So anyway, that was my wraparound.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: Ray Wise.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: It had Ray Wise, who is the whole awesomeness part
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: of the day because he touched your arm.
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: He did. He took a picture of my arm.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I wanted to take a picture of him taking
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: a picture of you, but I figured I'd have to
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: pay money for that.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I know.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: But we know it happened.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: I know it happened.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: He held your arm for a very long time.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: He's so dreamy. All right.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Well. that magic wouldn't have happened had we not come
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: to the Lexington Comic and Toy Convention. So thank you
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: to them for letting us come and be part of
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: the magic and the magic that is Ray Wise. Yeah.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: So if you're interested yourself in partaking in these things
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: for next time around, go to LexingtonComicCon.com and see what
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: they got in the works. Good stuff. They put together
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: a good show.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: There is always a fantastic variety of celebrities and things
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: to do.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: Go be part of the magic. We will make a...
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: We'll have to say right here, just to clear ourselves,
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: there's no guarantee that when you go to one of
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: these conventions, a celebrity is going to touch you and
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: hold on to you for a long time. Maybe you'll
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: get lucky. Give it a shot.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: Depends how much celebrity it is, if I really want
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: them to hold on to me for a long time.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: There are some celebrities that I do not want to
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: hold on to me for a long amount of time.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: Maybe not.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: We'll make a list. We'll save that for another episode. Otherwise,
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: thank you to the show for letting us come be
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: part of the magic, and to you for listening to
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: all this rambling. So, otherwise, that about does it. We
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: will return next time to Game Geek Feed.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: Thanks for listening.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: And thank you to Ray Wise for being so dreamy.
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: And for touching her. And for Bobby. Bobby's so dreamy, too.
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: Dana Ashbrook.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: You go, man. He's a lot of fun.
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: And then I think he was wearing that mask just
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: to hide the mustache.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: He's still very chatty. I like that guy.
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: Maybe it's for a role.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: He's entertaining.
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: Facial hair.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: Kimmy's up to it. She is.
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: Yesterday hit me that I do all the little things.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: That you do.
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: Except those same little things that you do are annoying.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: They're annoying as hell, in fact.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: It kind of struck a little bell, in fact.
- 1:02:51Speaker 5: I like to keep.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: My little shell intact.
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: And I'm slowly turning into you. And I'm slowly turning.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: So beautiful, compelling, and stronger Didn't take much longer.
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: Thank you. We'll be right back. And I'm slowly turning
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: into you. And I'm slowly turning into you. And I'm
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: slowly turning into you. La la la, la la la,
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: la la la, la la la. La la la, la
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: la la, la la la, la la la.
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: That girl's skirt is shiny. And it's windy.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: And it's relatively short, so this is a bad combination
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: for her.
